Flexible displays have been technically challenging to develop due to requirements for durability, flexibility, low power consumption, and high contrast ratio. Earlier flexible displays relied on plastic or metal foil substrates instead of glass, which posed issues to resolve regarding properties like clarity, stability, and smooth surfaces. Recent integration of flexible display technologies with traditional web processing and inkjet technologies has enabled low-cost, high-throughput manufacturing using roll-to-roll processes and has the potential to replace paper.

Flexible circuits can be rolled away when not required. To replace glass, plastic substrate must offer properties like clarity, dimensional stability, low coefficient of thermal expansion, elasticity etc. Recent advances in organic and inorganic based electronics proceeds on flexible substrate, offer substantial rewards in terms of being able to develop displays that are thinner , lighter and can be rolled when not in use. This paper will discuss about the properties, preparation methods, applications and challenges in this rapidly growing industry.

A durable and flexible display with low-power consumption, high-contrast ratio, has been a technical challenge for nowadays. They have to be lightweight, rugged, and in some cases, conformal, wearable, rollable and unbreakable. The recent successful integration of flexible display technologies and the traditional web-based processing and/or inkjet technologies has opened up the possibility of low cost and high throughput roll-to-roll manufacturing and has shown the potential to replace the paper used today.
A flexible display cannot rely on a normal layer of glass as used in displays common at the time since glass does not fulfill the criteria of flexibility. Instead of glass it is possible to build displays on metal foil and a variety of plastics, each of which pose many difficult issues waiting to be resolved. For example, a plastic substrate replacing glass would need to over some properties of glass, i.e. clarity, dimensional stability, thermal stability, barrier, solvent resistance and a low coefficient of thermal expansion coupled with a smooth surface. No plastic isomers have all these properties, yet, so any plastic-based substrate will almost certainly be a multilayer composite structure.

PDPs contain two glass plates separated by an inert gas that is ionized by an electrical current to produce visible light. This allows each pixel to emit red, green, or blue light independently. PDPs offer advantages over other displays like fast response time, wide viewing angles, low weight, and simple manufacturing. They are well-suited for applications like HDTV monitors. However, PDPs also have disadvantages compared to liquid crystal displays like higher power consumption and narrower viewing angles.

Fluorescent multi-layer disc (FMD) is a new optical data storage technology that stores digital data in three dimensions across multiple layers, similar in size to CDs and DVDs but with much higher storage capacity of up to 50GB+. FMD works on the phenomenon of photochromism to obtain fluorescent properties from the fluorescent material used and allows for parallel reading and writing across layers at speeds of up to 1GB/sec. FMD provides advantages over traditional optical discs like CDs and DVDs such as greater storage capacity, faster access, and compatibility with existing formats while avoiding the interference issues of coherent light used in other technologies.

Pvb laminated glass & tempered glass
Laminated glass is made of two or more pieces of glass bonded together by polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer. Tempered glass undergoes a thermal tempering process where it is heated to its softening point then rapidly cooled to increase its strength. Both types of glass provide safety benefits as they do not break into large sharp pieces when broken. However, laminated glass is more expensive and provides better sound insulation and security compared to tempered glass.

Isn’t plastic a bad thing? This is something we hear
very often, and it is true that over the years plastics
have developed a bad environmental reputation. Be
this in terms of the chemical by-products produced
during the manufacture of the material or simply
through the inappropriate use of these excellent
long lasting materials, in very short term
applications. The shorter the use, the longer the
material spends as waste; the build up and ultimate
uncontrolled breakdown of this waste does cause
huge environmental issues.
PVC is one of the most widely used polymers in the
world, found application in a wide array of industrial,
technical and household uses, most typically the
manufacture of profiles such as windows. PVC has
inherent sustainability characteristics. It is made
from common rock salt (57%) and hydrocarbons
from oil (43%) making it far less oil dependent (with
a lower carbon footprint) than other major
thermoplastics. It is highly durable and energy
efficient across a range of applications and is also
highly resource efficient.
The biggest environmental concerns with PVC are all
based around its first production, due to the high
chlorine content. In terms of reuse only around 3%
of waste PVC is recycled, and as such this creates a
huge waste issue.
Therefore it is essential we look to recycle as much
of this material as possible, and focus that recycled
product to applications that need longer term
solutions. If we use recycled PVC, we are not
producing the chemical nasties and at the same time
we are actively using up waste plastics. Plastics
already exists and we have a waste issue which we
need to address; in an appropriate and responsible
way. Plastic sheet piling is exactly that, using waste
PVC in applications that needs long term solutions.
Sheet piles, timbers posts etc do not install
themselves, every time you install such the process
will naturally create plastic waste, from synthetic
clothing to plastic wear components on the
equipment. The more often you install a retaining,
scour, flood, exclusions system the more energy you
use and the more waste you produce.
Focus on products that last longer, will reduce the
waste produced, and using recycled plastics reduces
the waste we have. For example replacing a
softwood structure, with plastic piling and use
timber fascia, which provides a long terms structural

In this study, the effects on the mechanical and durability properties of concrete with
cathode ray tube glass sand (CRTS) obtained by recycling the screens of cathode ray tubes
(CRTs) were investigated. CRTS was used by the ratios of 5, 10, 15, and 20% in the
concrete. The unit weight, workability, water absorption, compressive strength, flexural
strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity, static and dynamic elastic moduli, abrasion resistance,
and alkali-silica reaction (ASR) expansion tests on the concrete were examined. The use of
CRTS improved specific properties of concrete according to the fraction of glass aggregate
used between 0 and 20%. Plain concrete (P) and CRTS of 5% in concrete gave better results
in terms of mechanical properties. Use of CRTS above 5% in concrete declined the
mechanical properties but on the 90th day, CRTS concrete reduced the difference. CRTS
up to 20% in concrete especially improved abrasion resistance in comparison to P without
CRTS; furthermore, this addition did not increase ASR expansion to a deleterious level.Glass in buildings

Prediction of Electrical Energy Efficiency Using Information on Consumer's Ac...
Energy efficiency has been important since the latter part of the last century. The main object of this survey is to determine the energy efficiency knowledge among consumers. Two separate districts in Bangladesh are selected to conduct the survey on households and showrooms about the energy and seller also. The survey uses the data to find some regression equations from which it is easy to predict energy efficiency knowledge. The data is analyzed and calculated based on five important criteria. The initial target was to find some factors that help predict a person's energy efficiency knowledge. From the survey, it is found that the energy efficiency awareness among the people of our country is very low. Relationships between household energy use behaviors are estimated using a unique dataset of about 40 households and 20 showrooms in Bangladesh's Chapainawabganj and Bagerhat districts. Knowledge of energy consumption and energy efficiency technology options is found to be associated with household use of energy conservation practices. Household characteristics also influence household energy use behavior. Younger household cohorts are more likely to adopt energy-efficient technologies and energy conservation practices and place primary importance on energy saving for environmental reasons. Education also influences attitudes toward energy conservation in Bangladesh. Low-education households indicate they primarily save electricity for the environment while high-education households indicate they are motivated by environmental concerns.

This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.

They have to be lightweight, rugged, and in some cases, conformal, wearable, rollable and unbreakable. The recent successful integration of flexible display technologies and the traditional web-based processing and/or inkjet technologies has opened up the possibility of low cost and high throughput roll-to-roll manufacturing and has shown the potential to replace the paper used today. A flexible display cannot rely on a normal layer of glass as used in displays common at the time since glass does not fulfill the criteria of flexibility. Instead of glass it is possible to build displays on metal foil and a variety of plastics, each of which pose many difficult issues waiting to be resolved. For example, a plastic substrate replacing glass would need to over some properties of glass, i.e. clarity, dimensional stability, thermal stability, barrier, solvent resistance and a low coefficient of thermal expansion coupled with a smooth surface.
