Othello And Uncontrolled Jealousy
Othello and Uncontrolled Jealousy
Dominating the protagonist in William Shakespeare s tragedy Othello is the passion of sexual
jealousy. Dominating the antagonist is another type of jealousy toward Cassio, and hatred toward the
general. Let us look closely at the concept of jealousy as it is revealed in this drama.
Lily B. Campbell in Shakespeare s Tragic Heroes definitively categorizes Othello as a study in
jealousy :
Othello has suffered less in its modern interpretation than any other of Shakespeare s tragedies, it
would seem. So insistently did Shakespeare keep this tragedy unified about the theme of jealousy and
the central victims of the passion, so obviously did he mould his plot about the black Moor and the ...

Francis Ferguson in Two Worldviews Echo Each Other describes how there is no cure for the jealous
passion that rules Iago s life:
On the contrary, in the world of his philosophy and his imagination, where his spirit lives, there is no
cure for passion. He is, behind his mask, as restless as a cage of those cruel and lustful monkeys that
he mentions so often. It has been pointed out that he has no intelligible plan for destroying Othello,
and he never asks himself what good it will do him to ruin so many people. It is enough for him that
he hates the Moor. . . .(133)
Act 1 Scene 1 opens with an expression of jealousy: Roderigo is upbraiding Iago because of the
elopement of the object of his affections Desdemona with the Moor: Thou told st me thou didst hold
him in thy hate. Iago responds with an expression of jealousy, saying that he does indeed hate the
general because he Nonsuits my mediators; for, Certes, says he, / I have already chose my officer.
With both Roderigo and the ancient spurred on by jealousy, they storm the home of the senator,
Brabantio, and father of Desdemona in a vain effort to have him recover the missing girl. Brabantio is
very jealous of the man who has stolen his daughter because she has been his only companion and
help in the home: And what s to come of my despised time / Is naught but bitterness. At the head of his
mob, the

The Three Goddesses In The Trojan War
The Trojan War was ultimately caused by a petty conflict between three Goddesses Aphrodite, Pallas
Athena, and Hera. While attending a party they discovered a golden apple with the words for the
fairest carved in it. They all believed themselves to be the fairest, so to determine who would get the
apple they needed a judge. Their first choice was Zeus, but he wisely declined, and instead, pointed
them in the direction of Mount. Ida near Troy, where Prince Paris an excellent judge of beauty was
doing shepherd s work. The three went to Paris, but instead of having him look at them to choose the
prettiest, they all offered him a bribe and told him to choose the Goddess who offered the best thing
(248). Hera promised to make him an Emperor of Europe and Asia. Athena said that he would lead the
Trojans to victory against the Greeks. Aphrodite promised him the love of the fairest mortal on Earth.
Although it was not an easy decision for him, Paris chose love and gave the golden apple to
Aphrodite. This decision is what is said to be the cause of the long and famous Trojan War (249).
2. The Goddess of Discord, Eris, caused trouble by throwing the golden apple that said for the fairest

divinity to not be invited, so she wanted to create ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fairest woman in the world was the daughter of Zeus and Leda, Helen. Just before Paris had
judged the three Goddesses on their beauty, Helen was being approached by many suitors many of
which were of high class and from powerful families. For this reason, Helen s dad, King Tyndareus,
made all of them swear that they would not cause any harm to Helen and her chosen husband. Because
they were all wishing to be the one to marry her, they all thought the promise was to their favor and
agreed. In the end, King Tyndareus chose Menelaus, the brother of Agamemnon, to wed his daughter,
and also appointed him as the King of Sparta

Swiss Family Robinson Donkey
How can a single family tame frankly very savage animals? No formal training, limited resources, and
no experience in taming, and yet the Robinsons while stuck on a deserted island, successfully
accomplished just that. In Swiss Family Robinson, a novel by J.D. Wyss, the family tame many
animals, such as the donkey and the eagle, which both took much time to tame. The Robinsons while
waiting found a majestic wild donkey who would be used for much travel. So Dad got ready as soon
as possible to tie the rope around the tree, to throw around the donkey s neck. (Wyss, P. 150) When
they got the rope around the donkey s neck, he carelessly tried to dash away briskly because he was
petrified. The Robinsons also tamed a ferocious eagle who would

The Era Of Civil War Essay
Times of Civil War
Ayanna Franks

Abstract This historical event is very important to American People. This is how we as citizens
received our freedom. This event also helped the nation to progressed over the past years, to become a
better nation. I feel like if this event didn t occur than we as nation would not be able to accomplish
the things we had accomplished today.
The Times of the Civil War
The American Civil War (1861 1865), the nation could not resolve their differences between the north
and the south. The issue was freeing the slaves from captivity! President Lincoln was faced with the
issue of freeing the slaves. He knew with signing this declaration it will cause controversy between the
nation. He also knew that he has to do the right thing for the people but others felt he only wanted to
sign this declaration to win the votes of the minority. Even though, people had their own opinions
about his decision, they didn t agree with his decisions regarding this matter. On the other hand, many
other activist did agree with the actions of the president.
One activist that comes to mind with this historical event was Dr.Martin Luther King. He believed that
all people we created equal and that everyone should have the rights as others. One thing that we did
not learn in history that not all slaves were African American there were others who were in captivity
along with them. These activist fought for

Caged Bird Sings
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings poem by Maya Angelou, is similar to the screenplay The Long
Walk Home by Richard Pearce. They are both similar because in the poem there is a caged bird. I
think the caged birds in the long walk home are Odessa and Miriam.Odessa is a caged bird because of
her race, she doesn t have many privileges as the white people do. One thing she couldn t do was ride
the bus because of the boycott, if they did ride the bus they had to sit in the back no matter if there was
a seat available in the front of the bus.Miriam is also a caged bird because of her husband. Miriam s
husband treats her as if she were a little kid, when he found out that she would give Odessa a ride to
work he got mad and told her not to do it again that she would need to ask for permission. ... Show

Miriam shouldn t be asking her husband for permission to do things because she is a grown woman
and her husband treats her as if she were a little girl. He may be looking out for her but that s the
wrong way to do it because Miriam should know what s wrong and what s right. She doesn t need her
husband to treat her as a child because she s not. For example, when Miriam told her husband that she
has been giving Odessa rides to work every other day he got really mad at her and started yelling at
her. He then told Miriam that she can t give Odessa rides to work no more and also told her that if she
wanted to do things to ask

Why The Trade Show Is Kuwait International Fair As A First...
Introduction
As a Director of Marketing and Research in Rona Faucets Company, I recommend to do the trade
show in Kuwait International Fair as a first step to move into the international business. Our company
products such as Bathroom and Kitchen faucets will be displayed in The Big 5 Kuwait 2015 trade
show. This report illustrates the rationale for selecting Kuwait as the trade show location for the Rona
Faucets Company and in addition, it briefly explains about the execution strategy, budget, and
advertising and promotion methods in the Kuwait trade show.

Our company will have an added edge if we make the right move now and it will help us to capture
the wealthy market. This new show runs alongside The Big 5 and will focus on interior fit out
products. That means it will cover everything from bathrooms and kitchens, to the individual products
and materials that are necessary to create original interior designs and fit outs.
The other reasons for choosing The Big 5 Kuwait International Fair is that, the country has a large,
modern, exhibition facility readymade to host exhibitions of all sizes, as well as present conference
events. Kuwait s economy too has a significant influence. The country has the highest budget surplus
as a percentage of GDP of any Gulf state at 25 percent and this budget is earmarked for spending on
housing, infrastructure and healthcare. This creates huge opportunities for exhibitions and conferences
that address these subjects (Mellor, 2015).
But our experience is telling us there is a huge demand and enthusiasm from local businesses.

Stability In America
America; strong, safe and stable. The United States of America is experiencing a period of stability.
Based on the past empires, Rome, Athens, and Macedonia´s qualities during their rise and stability, it
is supported that America is also on a rise. In each empire, during the rise, the government, military,
infrastructures and natural resources were all controlled and managed properly. Many people in
America believe that America is on a fall because of the government leaders, spread out military,
breaking infrastures and war with places that hold natural resources, however the people making this
argument are simply only being pessimistic and looking for ways to degrade America, mainly based
on opinion rather than fact. Right now, America ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The great leader, Augustus, developed Rome into a Republic system of government. A republic system
of government is where there is someone who leads but the citizens have a right to vote for what they
believe. America, like Rome is run under democracy. With a nation that everyone is equal and has a
right to vote, power is not over given and the leader can not make choices without the majority of the
citizens agreeing. Another aspect of Rome that made it stable was it´s military. Unlike other empires,
Rome had advanced technology and tactics during their time. One example of their advance military
technology is the pilum, according to Naked Science, It´s [the pilum] designed to pierce people, to
pierce armour, pierce their shields. Rome was able to conquer vast amounts of land. America´s
military, just like Rome s military is one of the most advanced of its time. In America the government
supplies infrastructures for the military to test out the advanced war items that they re using. One of
the most known areas that the government develops war tactics and technology is Area 51. Because of
many places to test military tactics, America is able to defeat countries where there is no freedom. In
Mesopotamia, Alexander the great conquered land and gained gold, silver, iron, copper, fish, minerals
and other natural resources (slideshare). Alexander was able to develop a stabe economy and job
stability with the natural resources. In America, there are natural resources like ¨water, wind and the
sun... plants and animals... crude oil, coal, and natural gas as well as minerals¨ (TheBalance.) America

How Divorce Is A Common Family Problem Essay
Part I: Addressing Divorce in a Family Context Divorce is a common family problem faced by fifty
percent of American families today (source). No fault divorce gave rise to divorce rates as the divorce
rate doubled from 1960 1980 (source). Approximately half of children born to married parents in the
1970s compared to only about eleven percent in the 1950s (source). Research also demonstrates that
African Americans are more likely to divorce than Anglos as approximately one half of first marriages
end within ten years as compared to one third of first marriages of Anglos. Foreign born
Hispanic/Latinos marriages are less likely to end than Anglo marriages (source). U.S. born
Hispanic/Latinos tend to have higher levels of martial instability than Anglos but lower than African
Americans (source). Research also shows that social class or economic disadvantage appears to play a
role in producing Anglo and African American differences in marriage and divorce (source). Events
leading up to divorce can be stressful and for some families, they may already be facing a crisis before
the actual divorce. Marriages that end in divorce typically begin a process of unraveling,
estrangement, or emotional separation years before the legal divorce actually happens. During the
course of the marriage one or both marital partners may begin to feel alienated from the other.
Conflicts or tension with each other and with the children may intensify, become more frequent, and
often go unresolved.

Welfare Drug Testing

In today s America, government aid is highly depended on. The US government has spent $498 billion
dollars this year on welfare alone. The state of Tennessee has an average of 250,000 residents on
welfare and has $3 billion dollars this year alone. To help cut costs and help tax payers, 36 states,
including Tennessee, have proposed a bill to drug test all welfare recipients. Since the beginning of the
year, the welfare rate has jumped 7 percent while at the same time, the welfare funds are drying up.
Tennessee funds have dropped 17.5 percent, which comes out to be about $215.3 million dollars this

at hand. At the end of the session, the group members came up with the best solution for drug usage
amongst welfare recipients.
There were a total of three dozen states that considered drug testing recipients. Those states included
but are not limited to: Michigan, Maine, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina, and
Pennsylvania. Scott (2011), In Michigan, drug tests are only to be administered to recipients only if
there are reasonable suspicions of abuse . A reasonable suspicion would include the odor of marijuana,
paranoia, and the drastic loss of weight without and evidence of a weight loss plan or health relation.
Money given to families by the government for financial support should not be taken away from the
home to buy illegal drugs. There are roughly 30 million Americans receiving welfare in the United
States. The Ohio Legislators believe that the idea of passing a drug test is a popular way to cut down
on fraud, waste, and abuse (Milliken, 2011). Florida is the only state that actually passed a law on drug
testing welfare recipients. All the other state proposed a bill for the testing but recanted. Sulzberger
(2011), In Florida, people receiving cash assistance through welfare have had to pay for their own
drug tests since July, and enrollment has shrunk to its lowest levels since the start of the recession .

Financial Crisis Related On The Subprime Mortgage Market...
b. RELIANCE
Another component of fraud crimes is reliance. For the government to prevail on fraud charges, it has
to establish reasonable reliance on the alleged misrepresentations or omissions. Most financial crisis
related investigations focused on mortgage backed securities that banks sold consisted of subprime
mortgages that are doomed to be defaulted. The misrepresentation argument goes that banks failed to
disclose the low quality of the mortgages and substantial risks of default that are associated with them.
However, banks can conveniently raise the defense that the securities are sold to sophisticated
investors, such as pension funds and mutual funds, who could have known what was going on in the
subprime mortgage market and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The court found that as a sophisticated participant in the financial market, the buyer should have, and
easily could have, protected itself from misrepresentation by demanding that it see the report prior to a
closing. Therefore, it seems that the context of the transaction does not play into government s favor.
5. Institutional Failures
The current institutional set up and operations also contributed to the lack of prosecutions against bank
executives regarding their wrongdoings leading to the financial crisis. First, regulators and agencies
are short staffed. Second, regulators and agencies determined other types of prosecutions as their
priorities over financial crisis related investigations. Third, there is the lacking in coordination
between regulators and a consolidated national task force focusing on the criminal prosecutions
related to financial crisis.
a. Short Staffed It is notable about the number of staff and funding has been allocated to investigating
banks and bank executives: not many. Judge Rakoff noted that FBI had more than one thousand agents
assigned to investigating financial frauds before September 11 and only had 120 agents reviewing
more than 50,000 mortgage fraud reports filed by banks in the years leading to the financial crisis.
Funding wise, although the Fraud Enforcement and

Yams And Symbolism In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe
Emphasized throughout the novel, we see the chi of a person determining whether they will receive a
good yam harvest for the year or not. Thus, in order to maintain a good chi, men within Ibo pay
respects to the earth goddess Ani, through the Feast of the New Yam. Spiritually, the earth goddess
overlooks and distributes successful harvests to men in Ibo. Physically, men are in charge of
harvesting their own crops to ensure a successful harvest. Hence, throughout Things Fall Apart,
Chinua Achebe utilizes symbolism through yams and motifs through the earth goddess and the chi of a
person to emphasize one of the overarching themes of the novel: wealth, respect, and power.
Throughout the novel, it is emphasized that the more yams a man is able to successfully grow, the
richer in respect and wealth he is to become. Thus, Unoka s inability to grow a successful harvest
makes him known for the weakness of [his] machete and hoe (Achebe 17). In turn, Unoka s lack of
strength and wealth causes the earth goddess to feel a disgrace towards him. And, when a man does
not appear to have worked for his family s well being, he is not allowed to die in his house (Achebe
18). As a result, we see Unoka dying in isolation to the world because his chi states that he is not
worthy of the respect of his community. Unlike his father Unoka, Okonkwo works towards the respect
of his people. By planting crops specifically yams, Okonkwo takes on a great pride towards his doings

Investigating The Process Of Game Developers Use For Make...
For Research Project I have chosen to investigate the process that game developers use to make a
video game. Games have been around since 1951 when the first game Pong was invented, which took
to an international stage (Pong Story, 2013). Since then technology has evolved, which has allowed
game designers to make more sophisticated and technical games, which gives the players a more
realistic experience. What kind of software are used to make game? After designing the game s
concept, as well as the characters and environments; the next step is to make it digital , (Tim Crosby,
2008). There are many software packages available for beginners to experienced designers. Depending
on how skilled a designer is; they are able to get software packages that range from drag and drop
functions to, software that will need coding skills to make the game. Most software packages come
with tools to make two dimensional (2D) and three dimensional (3D) games. Software that you can
use to make a 2D game. Software that can be used to make a 2D, which is recommended, by both my
secondary and primary source is Game Maker. Game Maker has many of the tools that a game
designer would need, all in the one software. It allows you design many different types of games and
has in built game engine. It also supports game development for multiple platforms including
Windows, Mac, Android, IOS, Windows Phone, HTML5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (YoYo Games,

Examples Of Archetypes In Avatar
Avatar Archetypes Archetypes, what are they? Archetypes are recurrent symbols or motifs in
literature, art, or mythology. In the 2009 movie, Avatar, directed by James Cameron, several different
archetypes can be found that help move the plot along. Avatar begins with a man named Jake Sully,
who takes over his deceased brother s science mission on a faraway planet known as Pandora. On
Pandora, Jake is told to gain the natives , or the Na vi, trust in order to attempt to relocate the tribe.
This is necessary because the military wanted to collect a rare, valuable, mineral that lay beneath the

characters seen in the movie. In order to gain their confidence, Jake was put into an avatar body which

from the destructive humans. In the end, Jake was able to receive his wish, and was transferred into

Guess whos coming to dinner
Equality for All
Stanley Kramer s film, Guess Who s Coming to Dinner, is about an interracial marriage between a
black man and a white woman as well as the generational divide between the alarmed parents of both
races and the optimistic young couple. There are aspects of the film that can be construed as
progressive and influential for the era, the film more accurately serves as a reflection of the larger
socio political context of 1960 s America in regards to both attitudes of antagonism and acceptance of
interracial marriage.
Guess Who s Coming to Dinner addressed a forbidden subject during the pinnacle of cultural changes
in America. This film is brilliantly put together, and part of that reason is because of the outstanding
cast. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film influenced members of the American public to consider the possibility of interracial dating in
their own lives and to re examine their own biases. The film was not as progressive as it potentially
could have been since it avoided serious confrontations with racism while maintaining elements of
white dominance in order to attract white audiences.
He states very explicitly, I know that the white man made the black woman the symbol of slavery and
the white woman the symbol of freedom. Every time I embrace a black woman I m embracing slavery,
and when I put my arms around a white woman, well, I m hugging freedom (Cleaver, 170 ).
Therefore, Cleaver explains his attraction to white women as an attraction to the long established
symbols of freedom and racial supremacy. This idea is comparable to the symbols of freedom in
Guess Who s Coming to Dinner. Toplin argues that love and the ability to choose a mate without
restrictions symbolized freedom in Kramer s film (Harris and Toplin, 707).
Guess Who s Coming to Dinner accurately reflects how fears surrounding interracial marriage also
greatly concerned many blacks in American society. Fear being one of the more important underlying
messages that is

The overall problem is trust. Humans are naturally bias and judgmental and this is where the problem
begins. People tend to trust a person more if they are educated, drive a nice car, and are well groomed,
over a person who looks average. The ponzi scheme, that everyone has learned to hate, used image

Analysis Of The Movie The Equalizer
The movie The Equalizer is an action packed thriller directed by Antoine Fuqua, which follows Robert
McCall, a former CIA assassin, who is trying to live a quiet life. His life heads in a new direction
when he discovers that his friends livelihoods are in danger. McCall s natural instincts take over as he
liberates the people of his community. His duty to protect the innocent and seek justice defines Robert
McCall as a hero archetype.
Robert is a courageous hero, who puts his own life at risk to defend the lives of the innocent. In
numerous occasions, Robert resolves other individual s issues within his community. He feels a sense
of responsibility to help and protect others. For example, after Alina, a young prostitute, is not in the
diner at their usual time, Robert goes to the hospital and finds Alina severely beaten. After that, Robert
makes it his duty to secure Alina her freedom even though, McCall doesn t want to kill. He goes so far
as to fake his own death to get out of the business. But he is pulled back to help a young girl
(Alexander 1). Robert genuinely cares about Alina, even though they have only shared a handful of
conversations. Robert offers Slavi, the owner of Alina, ninety eight hundred dollars to free Alina, but

Misguided Rationale
The truth is not always present in the news. Reporters make mistakes, but when that wrong
information gets to spread the problem begins. The media is in a race on putting out information. The
danger is that there is no checking to make sure the information is true. Media is in a cycle of the news
getting a hold of an alternative fact, the media spreading it, a powerful source restating the
information, and the general audience seeing that story as fact. That information can then be turned
into political policies and ideologies. When the person that are spreading the wrong facts gets
challenged with the truth, they tend to a backlash towards the critic. They refuse to admit to their
mistake deepening the misguided rationale behind their fact. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Gladstone spent the reading illustrating how false news gets spread. Facts can be giving because they
are catchy. This does not make them accurate. When a powerful source gets the fake news, that is
when there is a problem. Technology increases the likelihood of alternative facts being caught. There
is a problem when the person who spoke the information refuses to admit their mistake. Gladstone
uses the example of Lou Dobbs to show this point ( Gladstone 54). He stated that if we reported it, it s
a fact when confronted with the inaccurate numbers he used in his report. Trump does a similar
argument when confronted with his wrong information. Bill O Rielly pointed out that Trump was
wrong when he stated that thousands of Muslims were seen celebrating after 9/11. Trump refused to
admit his mistake, but instead used a Breitbart article that agreed with him as his defense (Oliver).
This shows that people are after the news the want to hear. Breitbart is not thought of as a reliable
source, but they stated Trump was correct so he used them as fact. Trump and Dobbs both did not
want to admit to their mistakes. They both saw what they said as true, even when others showed them

When the products are run at a lower cost than the standard, then this produces a favorable variance.
The COGS and variance should net to the correct cost though (this is the reason the system creates the
variance).
The bigger problem here is that any inventory is likely to be overvalued because of wrong standards.
Finished goods inventory is valued at the standard cost. So if there is a lot of inventory at an inflated
cost, then the COGS is being reduced on the income statement too much because of this. If the
inventory were to be revalued at it s correct standard cost, there would be a large expense to the
income statement.
I would say he has been building inventory, more and more each quarter.

Similarities Between The Greasers And The Outsiders
The two books The Outsiders and The Wednesday Wars are very similar and diverse in countless
ways. The location, main characters, and influences help demonstrate these similarities and
differences. In the book, The Wednesday Wars, Holling HoodHood lives in Long Island with what his
father likes to think is the perfect family. He is a 13 year old boy who goes to Camillo Junior High but
with this time in history, during the Vietnam War, his life could change. For Ponyboy Curtis life is
almost completely different. Where he lives, life is not the all American dream. Competition between
the Socials and the Greasers is always a constant threat for him and his gang. Ponyboy Curtis is a
greaser like no other. His ability to comprehend school subjects set him apart from the rest of his gang.
In both books you would be able to find similarities in where they take place, the main characters, and
the people who influence their lives. The location of where each story takes place affect the main
characters differently. The setting of The Outsiders is fun, dangerous, disturbing, and even heart
wrenching. Ponyboy describes the town as being economically split into two parts, East and West.
These two parts cause Ponyboy to worry more about the Greasers and the Socials than current events.
This quote demonstrates how the location has affected Ponyboy s lifestyle, Sixteen years on the streets

The Causes Of Homelessness
Homelessness is defined as the situation of an individual or family without stable, permanent,
appropriate housing, or the immediate prospect, means, and ability of acquiring it. It is the result of
systemic or societal barriers, a lack of affordable and appropriate housing, the individual/household s
financial, mental, cognitive, behavioral or physical challenges, and/or racism and discrimination. Most
people do not choose to be homeless, and the experience is generally negative, unpleasant, stressful

When the bubble bursts, thousands of people will be left vulnerable to the disease, mental problems
and violence on the streets. The last major cause of poverty is the lack of employment or income2.
Without these obvious necessities, people will simply not be able to provide for themselves. By
helping one another and being a Brother s Keeper , society could begin to reverse the homelessness
problem as well as prevent it from affecting future generations.
Many people who are homeless use jail as an alternative to sleeping outside especially during the
winter months. They jump between shelters and jail because it is the only place for them to go. A
survey conducted with 363 prisoners that have spent 5 or more consecutive nights in jail in the greater
Toronto area showed that 22.9 percent of the prisoners were homeless9. When looking at all the
homeless that were incarcerated 30% of them that were questioned admitted to committing a petty
crime in order to get off the streets10. One fifth avoided bail to ensure that they would be in jail for as
long as possible10. Before being discharged 85% of the homeless anticipated being homeless again9.
This restarts the cycle which leads them to going back to jail for a few nights of food and medical
service. This is not a solution to the problem as nothing is solved and people remain homeless.
Having a large homeless population is

Police Body Cameras Essay
An increased attention on fatal police encounters and citizen s complains of improper use of force
have led to calls for law enforcement officers to wear body cameras when on duty. In order to improve
policing and police oversight the following recommendations are suggested: 1) Body cameras should
record at all times to increase accountability, 2) Monitoring should be done with a fire alarm approach
to incur effective oversight, 3) Footage must remain private to not decrease police productivity by
over monitoring.
The cameras must be required to be on recording mode when police officers are on duty and when
they respond to calls for service. Further, when activating the camera would slower the application of
force, and when it is unsafe to activating the camera, they police could have the excuse for not

The police body camera is a device with monitoring purpose. The footage provides convenience to the

A Religious View on Same sex Marriage
The United States is a country built on a number of ideals and institutions. The moral structure of
many Americans today was developed by our ancestors and the founders of this nation through the
institutions that were a part of their lives. Family, religion, marriage, equality, and justice are just a
few examples of the important components that provide a moral basis for our country. If any of these
elements were to become too mutated, the effects on society could be devastating. Right now in the

According to a Pew Poll, most religious communities believe same sex marriage and even
homosexuality in general are morally wrong and do not follow their religious beliefs (Waldman,
2003). There is no major religion in the world that has ever altered the definition of marriage to
include same sex couples (Barlow, 2003). In general, it can be said that many religious people have
strong views on same sex marriage, declaring it wrong because of their religious beliefs.
There are two main reasons why many religious groups are against same sex marriage. The first
argument is that people who are gay are not able to procreate. They do not have the correct
corresponding body parts to make children (Waldman, 2003). Anyone who has taken sex education
knows that humans can not reproduce without a male s sperm and a female s egg. Roman Catholics
believe God created marriage as a lifetime union between one woman and one man with the purpose
of having a loving relationship and for procreating, caring for, and teaching children (Charron
Skylstad, 1996). Sex that does not occur with the intent of procreation is not approved by many faiths.
In Judaism, for example, there is an important Bible passage that supports this idea. The story of Onan
is about Onan sleeping with his dead brother s wife. In order to prevent having children, Onan does
not ejaculate inside of his brother s wife. Instead he ejaculated on the ground. Because

The International Monetary Fund ( Imf )
Introduction
In the statement of the 2015 Article IV Consultation Mission to China, the International Monetary
Fund (IMF) concluded that the Chinese economy was transitioning to a safer and higher quality
growth. In particular, the IMF highlighted that China had made good progress in recent years in
reducing its large current account surpluses and its huge accumulation of foreign exchange reserves.
Although undervaluation of the yuan was a major factor causing the large imbalances in the past, the
appreciation of the yuan over the past few years had brought the yuan USD exchange rate to a level
that was no longer undervalued.
Exchange rate, the price of a nation s currency in terms of another currency, indicates the value of a
currency: a higher exchange rate is associated with a relatively lower value of its corresponding
currency. Since Chinese goods are usually valued in yuan, the only currency that is valuable for
Chinese is yuan. That is, a Chinese is only interested in selling and purchasing goods in yuan. Foreign
consumers, such as Americans, have to use yuan rather than dollars to purchase goods from Chinese
sellers. Specifically, an American must exchange his dollars into yuan at first and then uses yuan to
purchase Chinese goods. In other words, the yuan USD exchange rate works as a tool to measure the
price of the dollar in yuan.
Facing the threat of trade sanctions by the U.S. Congress, China announced that it would replace its
decade old currency peg with a

Throughout History, Poetry Has Evolved To Fit The Needs
Throughout history, poetry has evolved to fit the needs of the poet. Typically, scholars categorize
writings in time periods that often reflect similar ideals between writers. The Age of the Romantics,
can be viewed as a literary movement in which writers appear to have a similar driving force behind
writing. Two important authors during this Age of the Romantics are William Wordsworth and
William Blake. Although both Blake and Wordsworth are considered to be writers from the Romantic
literary period, they have contrasting beliefs on what it means to be a poet and the poets function in
society. For starters, Blake argues that people must not be limited to their senses. One of Blake s chief
arguments is that humanity is hindered when they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He believes that people fail to use the imagination and then fail to transcend what their senses can tell
them is real. He explains in There Is No Natural Religion that, He who sees the Infinite in all things
sees God. He who sees the Ratio only sees himself only (117). Blake truly believed that humanity
needs to see more than just science and things that can be proven, he really believed in the power of
imagination. To Blake, he saw imagination as a portal to messages from a higher power namely God.
By contrast, Wordsworth takes a completely different approach to poetry where he relief heavily on
his senses. Wordsworth relied on his senses to produce images that he could then use to produce his
poetry. Wordsworth describes, I have said that poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful
feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility (303). He continues, Now, if nature
be thus cautious in preserving in a state of enjoyment a being thus employed, the poet ought to profit
by the lesson thus held forth to him (303). These lines indicate the chief mission Wordsworth find
himself on when writing poetry. Thus, because nature can produce such feelings in the poet, the poet
must therefore rely heavily on what he sees. In order for him to have powerful feelings to recollect on
he must first have a visual aid to send him into this spontaneous overflow. This is one of the core
differences between Blake and

Evaluating Compliance Strategies
The compliance process is set up to ensure the maximum appropriate reimbursement for health care
claims. Correct billing and coding are directly linked to correct documentation by a physician. Also, to
complete documentation, linking the correct code to the correct diagnoses is a must. This step is
vitally important in reducing compliance errors. Second, the implications of incorrect coding can have
a domino effect and will ultimately cause many people in the chain of events to go back, review,
correct the errors, and resubmit the claim. This could also cause the patient and payer more money or
cause a claim to be denied. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a coder, it is important to only code what is documented and to remember never to code for a
diagnoses that has not yet been made. If a patient is being seen for chest pain and the doctor is doing
tests for a possible heart attack or stroke, it is vital that neither a heart attack nor stroke is coded until
an actual diagnosis has been made.
The compliance process also includes strategies such as benchmarking the practice s E/M (evaluation
and management) codes with the national averages. This means that any given practice should
compare their average codes and billing records to that of national averages to see how close or far the
results are from the national results. Profiling average billing patterns can show compliance and will
also help point out practices that might be fraudulent or incompliant. Modifiers also are incorporated
with billing compliance because they can eliminate the possibility of duplicate billing or unbundling.
They do this by more specifically defining a procedure. Professional courtesy and discounts to
uninsured or low income patients is another way to show compliance with billing and coding. OIG
guidelines offer physicians guidance on how much to discount for low income or uninsured patients.
Many physicians practice professional courtesy because by showing good faith to the patient he or she
will be more likely to get paid, if at all. Being clear on professional courtesy is important, however,
because what a practice

Slavitt correlates the Titanic to the world while Hardy challenges whether or not the crashing off the
Titanic was choice or fate. Slavitt implies that the world becomes numb to death and tragedy by
writing, And the world, shocked, mourns, as it ought to do and almost never does. When tragedies
similar to the Titanic happen, people overlook and forget the events until another tragedy happens.
With the improvement of communication through technology, news and events are shared at the speed
of sound. Every few seconds bears a new tragic event; for instance, the lives lost in the Boston
Massacre, the bar shooting in Orlando, and numerous school shootings fade into the chaos each day

The Immanent Will that stirs and urges everything...A Shape of Ice, for the time far and dissociate,
formulating that fate forced the Titanic to crash into the iceberg(18 21). Hardy signifies the crash

A Brief Note On Voltage Gated Sodium Channels
Abstract
Voltage gated sodium channels are fundamental players in animals physiology. By triggering the
depolarization of the lipid membrane they enable generation and propagation of the action potential.
The involvement of these channels in numerous pathological conditions makes them relevant target
for pharmaceutical intervention. Therefore, modulation of sodium conductance via small molecule
binding constitutes a promising strategy to treat a large variety of diseases. However, this approach
entails significant challenges: voltage gated sodium channels are complex nanomachines and the
details of their workings have only recently started to become clear. Here we review ¬¬ with emphasis
on the computational studies some of the major milestones in the long standing search of a
quantitative microscopic description of the molecular mechanism and modulation of voltage gated
sodium channels.
Introduction: Physiological Role of Voltage Gated Sodium Channels (VGSCs)
Cells respond to stimuli from the environment by enabling the passage of ions across the plasma
membrane, a process that results in the propagation of an electrical signal. Ion channels are the key
players of this process, the membranes of excitable cells are studded with a myriad of these integral
membrane proteins, which transduce chemical and electrical stimuli into currents of charged chemical
species (Hille, 2001). Owing to their pivotal role in cell physiology, a large number of genes encode

The National Banking Act Of 1863
BACKGROUND:
Banking in the United States is a better known as the declaration of the growth of capitalism and free
enterprise. Adam Smith, a well known economist, referred to capitalist banking as the invisible hand
guiding the path of allocation through goods and services throughout the economy. Commercial and
investment banking quickly became the leading hands in the economy, as financial resources was a
common scarcity in environments. Merchant banks that were privately owned performed the capital
distribution function. During the civil war, commercial banks were state chartered financial
institutions. Many banks were under capitalized, as they were under no obligation to disclose financial

Commercial Banking:
As commercial banks first came about, they were presented as brick mortar, comprised with safe
deposit boxes, vaults, tellers and ATMs. Today, we live in a very fast paces world. Technological
advances have allowed global economies to bank online at personal and professional leisure. As some
commercial banks do not require a physical location, they save a lot of money in ancillary charges,
such as rent, utilities and property taxes. At times they may offer higher interest rates on deposits,
investments and charge lower fees as well.
Commercial banking provides consumers and potential customers with various financial services,
such as deposits and loans, in a means of ensuring social stability, economic stability, and sustainable
growth of the economy. Commercial banks offer a large range of investment products. While these
products are not only for the use of personal accounts, they are also put to great use within
organizations. Savings accounts, certificates of deposit, business loans, auto loans and mortgages are
all examples of products that are offered in commercial banking. Due to the fact that certificates of

Impact of Global Warming on Coastal Wetlands Essay
Impact of Global Warming on Coastal Wetlands
Professor s comment: Jane wrote this research paper for my Advanced Composition course. The
assignment asks the students to read and understand six to ten articles within a research area of their
choice, then synthesize the information so that a reader can quickly understand the present state of
research in that area. Jane chose to look at how increased flooding and salinity might affect coastal
wetland soils and species, and she organized the material clearly and effectively. What I liked
particularly about this review was that it moved logically from the effects of flooding and salinity on
wetland soils to the effects on the plants growing there to the overall effects on the wetland, both ...

Additionally, Ehhas been shown to decrease even further when soils are flooded with increased
salinity levels (Baldwin and Mendelssohn, 1998; Flynn et al., 1995). Under these conditions, the soil
medium becomes highly reducing and can affect wetland vegetation in two ways. First, and probably
most significant, is the reduction of sulfate (present in seawater) to hydrogen sulfide, a known
phytotoxin that has been shown to reduce wetland vegetation growth and/or survival at higher
concentrations (Flynn et al., 1995). Secondly, highly reducing conditions can interfere with a plant s
ability to uptake nitrogen by altering its form and availability in the soil (Webb et al., 1995).
Other problems created by high salinity soil conditions include the change in water potential necessary
for the plant to overcome the elevated salt concentration in the soil, and the possibility of toxicity due
to uptake of Na+ and Cl ions (Flynn et al., 1995).
Physiological Responses of Wetland Plants due to Increased Flooding and Salinity
Although tolerance to increased flooding and salinity conditions varies somewhat by species, wetland
species that survive these heightened conditions demonstrate either some or all of the following
characteristics: lowered photosynthetic activity,

ECL in China
Case Study
Problem Identification and Situational Analysis ECL is a multi national corporation that continues to
expand its core business as well as create opportunities for foreign divisions to influence the direction
of the company in addition to bringing cohesion and unity throughout the workforce. ECL developed a
division in China that allowed the company to integrate into the Chinese market but also presented it
with issues it would need to manage successfully in order to progress in this venture. There are
various cultural issues facing ECL in China. The first is the qualities not often seen in American
industries and those are the obedience and humility among the Chinese workers. In the Chinese
culture this is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chinese workers believe that close personal relationships are imperative to effective communication.
American companies don t share the same views and some organizations have even related this to
workplace fraternization, which can result in disciplinary action. Since we don t believe that these
relationships are necessary, or even appropriate, we don t form them and this could affect a bi national
workplace and possibly even carry over to business dealings outside of the company. The Chinese
believe that, when conducting business with other people, a relationship must first be formed to gain
the trust of business partners. American companies rely heavily on systems and processes, which is
viewed as highly efficient by the American standard while the Chinese workers with ECL aren t
accustomed to this and believe that it s not always necessary to establish a system to follow in order to
complete a task. The difference in views on this could also present some serious problems for ECL, as
the Chinese workers may view the American management style as inefficient or sluggish.
Recommendations
ECL manages cultural diversity by having Constant respect for people and Uncompromising integrity
. (Wo, 2001) A significant number of companies that have ventured into international business did not
attempt to adjust to the foreign culture and rather tried to take the business

Dating A Nigerian Female In Nigeria
Nigerian females are the same as every other female in the planet, with those very same yearning as
well as desire to be liked and cared for, they ve those very same loose grip on situations daily
happenstance, not being serious about life and wishing a handsome male would pop out of the sky as
well as swoop them off the feet of theirs into insurmountable riches, and also with of course the
accompanying lived happily ever after.
Allow me to share facts about Nigerian females, a small idea on just what it takes to marry a female
from Nigeria. Are you eying that blackish female working in the exact same office along with you, are
you thinking of dating and actually getting married to a rather Nigerian babe? Do you understand what
it takes? Have you will said a word to her?
Dating a Nigerian female is as easy as dating every other female in the planet, it entails the same tactic
and careful methods, you require the exact same self assured strategy which is actually essential to
picking females.
Individuals in Nigeria think which the male is actually the mind of the household and we come across
the female as being a helper to the male, every Nigerian female is seeking a responsible male, a male
that s in a position to make choices in dire circumstances. Girls in Nigeria would like to date and

Differences Between Chinese And Us Middle School Teachers
Mathematics Education: The Differences in Teaching Methods Between Chinese and US Middle
School Teachers As an increasing number of students are taking part in standardized tests and national
competitions, parents, teachers, and educators have become aware that students in different countries,
ranging from elementary schools to high schools, perform unevenly in many subject areas. In recent
years, researchers have done numerous cross national studies to investigate the reason why students
performances vary nationwide. One of the subjects that contain a huge gap is students achievement in
mathematics in Asia and America. It has been noticed for some time that Asian students generally
receive higher scores on national mathematics contests ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, the Ministry of Education specifies the curriculum for schools in China nationally. Almost
every school in China uses the same textbooks for all subjects. Conversely, the system in the US is not
as centralized. Individual schools and teachers have the right to decide what textbooks to use and what
knowledge to teach (Stigler, Lee, and Stevenson 3). Teachers in China and the US use different
strategies to engage students to learn new mathematical concepts; US teachers prefer to organize
introductory activities, while Chinese teachers usually teach new materials directly with no opening
activities. For example, when teaching the procedure of fraction multiplication, most US teachers have
students apply manipulations such as playing with money or drawing and coloring areas in order to
evoke students interests. Data shows that 18% more teachers in the US than in China use
manipulation. Conversely, Chinese teachers rarely rely on such manipulative activities. They tend to
teach the concepts and methods using area and repeated addition. Unlike the US teachers, they
illustrate the methods by suggesting real problems and showing the proper strategies to use for
different problems. 91% of Chinese teachers give examples of problems to teach the rules of fraction
multiplication, whereas only 4% of US teachers use the same method (An,

Intelligence In Odysseus
A hero is someone who exceeds the expectations and performs above and beyond the average person.
Odysseus from the epic poem The Odyssey, acts above and beyond his crew and the typical mortal.
Odysseus uses his intelligence throughout his journeys to further develop his courage allowing him to
be resilient in the time of crisis arguing he is a hero.
Odysseus uses intelligence to guide him on his tricky journey home to Ithaca establishing that he is a
hero. When Odysseus and his crew land on the land of the Cyclops, they get trapped in a cave with a
human eating Cyclops named Polyphemus. Polyphemus turns hostile and becomes a serious threat to
Odysseus and his crews chance of returning home. Odysseus uses his intelligence to get out of the
disastrous situation by getting the Cyclops drunk and then blinding Polyphemus by using a stake with
its fiery tip (Homer 9.443) and thrusting it into the single eye on the Cyclops. Odysseus keen sense of
intelligence allows him to predict that Polyphemus would try to get help from his Cyclops neighbors
so he plans ahead telling Polyphemus, Nobody that s my name. Nobody so my mother and father call
me, all my friends (Homer 9.410 411). Odysseus, although physically strong, understands that
outthinking an opponent often leads to victory and in the incident with the cyclops this theory held
true. Odysseus predicted that once he burned the eye, Polyphemus would scream out in pain notifying
his neighbors that something was wrong.

In The First Theory,Realism, The International System Is
In the first theory, Realism, the international system is defined by anarchy and the lack of a central
authority, meaning that states are independent from each other and no structure or system can establish
a forced relation among them. In this type of system, power is the main objective that each state plans
to accomplish because only by achieving this power they can protect themselves and survive.
According to this theory, there are different powers that a state plans to achieve for example the
military power, the economic power or the diplomatic power. States seek to achieve the instruments of
hard and soft power, to gain influence over other states and to accomplish this goal may be necessary
to engage in war, conflicts or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Realism theory explain that even if all the countries appear to have different objectives according
to particular circumstances, in reality they have common intentions, which are focused on re building
the logic of policy makers. And the last assumption sees a country as a unitary actor . The nature of
the international system defines the main problems that a country can face (Holsti, 1985) .
Realism was a dominant model of explaining the concept of international relations during the past six
decades and was considered to be a framework in order to analyses and understand better the First
World War, The Second World war, and the Cold War. But, Classical Realism is described as a
pessimistic theory of understanding the human nature, when is distinguished that egoism and self
interested attitude are base of the phenomenon known as homopoliticus . According to Classical
Realism, the question of why exists conflict and war in the world is founded on human nature
characteristics. In order to eliminate this problem, later was developed a new theory, the Modern
Realist theory, which pointed out that the structure of the international system can be used as an
instrument to explain and understand more the state behavior. The Modern Realists realized that words
like power , national interests or balance of power , are contradictory concepts. According to Classical
Realism theory, power is an important element, but the relation among power balance and political

Big Puppet Essay
The Theatre of the Big Puppet, also known as the Grand Guignol, was a theatre founded in 1897 by
Oscar Metenier as an extension of the naturalist movement. The naturalist movement had been spread
by André Antoine s Theatre Libre. The term Grand Guignol refers to any dramatic entertainment that
has to deal with gruesome subject matter and features exaggerated explicit violence. A typical Grand
Guignol Theatre consists of plays, going from suspenseful crime dramas to vulgar sex disgraces. But
the main focus of the Grand Guignol was the horror play, which unavoidably included eye gouging,
throat slashing, acid throwing, or some other just as gruesome climax. The Grand Guignol theatre has
had an insightful influence on the art of horror performance and special effects. Now, special effects
and the use of props is what really made the Grand Guignol so horrific and gory. Theatre professor
and Grand Guignol expert, Mel Gordon, reminds us that the audience wanted to believe in what they
were seeing, the acting was intense, and there was 20 to 40 minutes of suspense and dread leading up
to the bloodletting. This shows that the impact of the special effects and their reality, along with other
elements of the play, also got help from the acting. Gruesome scenarios that made the audience
nauseous and the extreme use of blood made this type of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. Othello And Uncontrolled Jealousy Othello and Uncontrolled Jealousy Dominating the protagonist in William Shakespeare s tragedy Othello is the passion of sexual jealousy. Dominating the antagonist is another type of jealousy toward Cassio, and hatred toward the general. Let us look closely at the concept of jealousy as it is revealed in this drama. Lily B. Campbell in Shakespeare s Tragic Heroes definitively categorizes Othello as a study in jealousy : Othello has suffered less in its modern interpretation than any other of Shakespeare s tragedies, it would seem. So insistently did Shakespeare keep this tragedy unified about the theme of jealousy and the central victims of the passion, so obviously did he mould his plot about the black Moor and the ... Francis Ferguson in Two Worldviews Echo Each Other describes how there is no cure for the jealous passion that rules Iago s life: On the contrary, in the world of his philosophy and his imagination, where his spirit lives, there is no cure for passion. He is, behind his mask, as restless as a cage of those cruel and lustful monkeys that he mentions so often. It has been pointed out that he has no intelligible plan for destroying Othello, and he never asks himself what good it will do him to ruin so many people. It is enough for him that he hates the Moor. . . .(133) Act 1 Scene 1 opens with an expression of jealousy: Roderigo is upbraiding Iago because of the elopement of the object of his affections Desdemona with the Moor: Thou told st me thou didst hold him in thy hate. Iago responds with an expression of jealousy, saying that he does indeed hate the general because he Nonsuits my mediators; for, Certes, says he, / I have already chose my officer. With both Roderigo and the ancient spurred on by jealousy, they storm the home of the senator, Brabantio, and father of Desdemona in a vain effort to have him recover the missing girl. Brabantio is very jealous of the man who has stolen his daughter because she has been his only companion and help in the home: And what s to come of my despised time / Is naught but bitterness. • 3. The Three Goddesses In The Trojan War The Trojan War was ultimately caused by a petty conflict between three Goddesses Aphrodite, Pallas Athena, and Hera. While attending a party they discovered a golden apple with the words for the fairest carved in it. They all believed themselves to be the fairest, so to determine who would get the apple they needed a judge. Their first choice was Zeus, but he wisely declined, and instead, pointed them in the direction of Mount. Ida near Troy, where Prince Paris an excellent judge of beauty was doing shepherd s work. The three went to Paris, but instead of having him look at them to choose the prettiest, they all offered him a bribe and told him to choose the Goddess who offered the best thing (248). Hera promised to make him an Emperor of Europe and Asia. Athena said that he would lead the Trojans to victory against the Greeks. Aphrodite promised him the love of the fairest mortal on Earth. Although it was not an easy decision for him, Paris chose love and gave the golden apple to Aphrodite. This decision is what is said to be the cause of the long and famous Trojan War (249). 2. The Goddess of Discord, Eris, caused trouble by throwing the golden apple that said for the fairest into the party. • 4. Swiss Family Robinson Donkey How can a single family tame frankly very savage animals? No formal training, limited resources, and no experience in taming, and yet the Robinsons while stuck on a deserted island, successfully accomplished just that. In Swiss Family Robinson, a novel by J.D. Wyss, the family tame many animals, such as the donkey and the eagle, which both took much time to tame. The Robinsons while waiting found a majestic wild donkey who would be used for much travel. So Dad got ready as soon as possible to tie the rope around the tree, to throw around the donkey s neck. (Wyss, P. 150) When they got the rope around the donkey s neck, he carelessly tried to dash away briskly because he was petrified. The Robinsons also tamed a ferocious eagle who would ... • 5. The Era Of Civil War Essay Times of Civil War Ayanna Franks Central High School November 9, 2015 3rd Period Abstract This historical event is very important to American People. This is how we as citizens received our freedom. This event also helped the nation to progressed over the past years, to become a better nation. I feel like if this event didn t occur than we as nation would not be able to accomplish the things we had accomplished today. The Times of the Civil War The American Civil War (1861 1865), the nation could not resolve their differences between the north and the south. The issue was freeing the slaves from captivity! President Lincoln was faced with the issue of freeing the slaves. He knew with signing this declaration it will cause controversy between the nation. He also knew that he has to do the right thing for the people but others felt he only wanted to sign this declaration to win the votes of the minority. Even though, people had their own opinions about his decision, they didn t agree with his decisions regarding this matter. On the other hand, many other activist did agree with the actions of the president. One activist that comes to mind with this historical event was Dr.Martin Luther King. He believed that all people we created equal and that everyone should have the rights as others. One thing that we did not learn in history that not all slaves were African American there were others who were in captivity along with them. These activist fought for ... • 6. Caged Bird Sings I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings poem by Maya Angelou, is similar to the screenplay The Long Walk Home by Richard Pearce. They are both similar because in the poem there is a caged bird. I think the caged birds in the long walk home are Odessa and Miriam.Odessa is a caged bird because of her race, she doesn t have many privileges as the white people do. One thing she couldn t do was ride the bus because of the boycott, if they did ride the bus they had to sit in the back no matter if there was a seat available in the front of the bus.Miriam is also a caged bird because of her husband. Based on the past empires, Rome, Athens, and Macedonia´s qualities during their rise and stability, it is supported that America is also on a rise. In each empire, during the rise, the government, military, infrastructures and natural resources were all controlled and managed properly. Many people in America believe that America is on a fall because of the government leaders, spread out military, breaking infrastures and war with places that hold natural resources, however the people making this argument are simply only being pessimistic and looking for ways to degrade America, mainly based on opinion rather than fact. • 9. How Divorce Is A Common Family Problem Essay Part I: Addressing Divorce in a Family Context Divorce is a common family problem faced by fifty percent of American families today (source). No fault divorce gave rise to divorce rates as the divorce rate doubled from 1960 1980 (source). Approximately half of children born to married parents in the 1970s compared to only about eleven percent in the 1950s (source). Research also demonstrates that African Americans are more likely to divorce than Anglos as approximately one half of first marriages end within ten years as compared to one third of first marriages of Anglos. Foreign born Hispanic/Latinos marriages are less likely to end than Anglo marriages (source). U.S. born Hispanic/Latinos tend to have higher levels of martial instability than Anglos but lower than African Americans (source). Research also shows that social class or economic disadvantage appears to play a role in producing Anglo and African American differences in marriage and divorce (source). Events leading up to divorce can be stressful and for some families, they may already be facing a crisis before the actual divorce. Marriages that end in divorce typically begin a process of unraveling, estrangement, or emotional separation years before the legal divorce actually happens. During the course of the marriage one or both marital partners may begin to feel alienated from the other. Conflicts or tension with each other and with the children may intensify, become more frequent, and often go unresolved. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Those states included but are not limited to: Michigan, Maine, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Scott (2011), In Michigan, drug tests are only to be administered to recipients only if there are reasonable suspicions of abuse . A reasonable suspicion would include the odor of marijuana, paranoia, and the drastic loss of weight without and evidence of a weight loss plan or health relation. Money given to families by the government for financial support should not be taken away from the home to buy illegal drugs. The Ohio Legislators believe that the idea of passing a drug test is a popular way to cut down on fraud, waste, and abuse (Milliken, 2011). • 12. Financial Crisis Related On The Subprime Mortgage Market... b. RELIANCE Another component of fraud crimes is reliance. For the government to prevail on fraud charges, it has to establish reasonable reliance on the alleged misrepresentations or omissions. Most financial crisis related investigations focused on mortgage backed securities that banks sold consisted of subprime mortgages that are doomed to be defaulted. The misrepresentation argument goes that banks failed to disclose the low quality of the mortgages and substantial risks of default that are associated with them. However, banks can conveniently raise the defense that the securities are sold to sophisticated investors, such as pension funds and mutual funds, who could have known what was going on in the subprime mortgage market and ... Institutional Failures The current institutional set up and operations also contributed to the lack of prosecutions against bank executives regarding their wrongdoings leading to the financial crisis. First, regulators and agencies are short staffed. Second, regulators and agencies determined other types of prosecutions as their priorities over financial crisis related investigations. Third, there is the lacking in coordination between regulators and a consolidated national task force focusing on the criminal prosecutions related to financial crisis. a. • 14. Yams And Symbolism In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe Emphasized throughout the novel, we see the chi of a person determining whether they will receive a good yam harvest for the year or not. Thus, in order to maintain a good chi, men within Ibo pay respects to the earth goddess Ani, through the Feast of the New Yam. Spiritually, the earth goddess overlooks and distributes successful harvests to men in Ibo. Physically, men are in charge of harvesting their own crops to ensure a successful harvest. Hence, throughout Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe utilizes symbolism through yams and motifs through the earth goddess and the chi of a person to emphasize one of the overarching themes of the novel: wealth, respect, and power. Throughout the novel, it is emphasized that the more yams a man is able to successfully grow, the richer in respect and wealth he is to become. Thus, Unoka s inability to grow a successful harvest makes him known for the weakness of [his] machete and hoe (Achebe 17). In turn, Unoka s lack of strength and wealth causes the earth goddess to feel a disgrace towards him. And, when a man does not appear to have worked for his family s well being, he is not allowed to die in his house (Achebe 18). As a result, we see Unoka dying in isolation to the world because his chi states that he is not worthy of the respect of his community. Unlike his father Unoka, Okonkwo works towards the respect of his people. By planting crops specifically yams, Okonkwo takes on a great pride towards his doings as it represents a ... • 15. Investigating The Process Of Game Developers Use For Make... For Research Project I have chosen to investigate the process that game developers use to make a video game. Games have been around since 1951 when the first game Pong was invented, which took to an international stage (Pong Story, 2013). Since then technology has evolved, which has allowed game designers to make more sophisticated and technical games, which gives the players a more realistic experience. What kind of software are used to make game? After designing the game s concept, as well as the characters and environments; the next step is to make it digital , (Tim Crosby, 2008). There are many software packages available for beginners to experienced designers. Depending on how skilled a designer is; they are able to get software packages that range from drag and drop functions to, software that will need coding skills to make the game. Most software packages come with tools to make two dimensional (2D) and three dimensional (3D) games. Software that you can use to make a 2D game. Software that can be used to make a 2D, which is recommended, by both my secondary and primary source is Game Maker. Game Maker has many of the tools that a game designer would need, all in the one software. It allows you design many different types of games and has in built game engine. It also supports game development for multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, Android, IOS, Windows Phone, HTML5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (YoYo Games, 2016) Software that you can use to make a 3D ... • 17. Guess whos coming to dinner Equality for All Stanley Kramer s film, Guess Who s Coming to Dinner, is about an interracial marriage between a black man and a white woman as well as the generational divide between the alarmed parents of both races and the optimistic young couple. There are aspects of the film that can be construed as progressive and influential for the era, the film more accurately serves as a reflection of the larger socio political context of 1960 s America in regards to both attitudes of antagonism and acceptance of interracial marriage. Guess Who s Coming to Dinner addressed a forbidden subject during the pinnacle of cultural changes in America. This film is brilliantly put together, and part of that reason is because of the outstanding cast. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The film influenced members of the American public to consider the possibility of interracial dating in their own lives and to re examine their own biases. The film was not as progressive as it potentially could have been since it avoided serious confrontations with racism while maintaining elements of white dominance in order to attract white audiences. He states very explicitly, I know that the white man made the black woman the symbol of slavery and the white woman the symbol of freedom. Every time I embrace a black woman I m embracing slavery, and when I put my arms around a white woman, well, I m hugging freedom (Cleaver, 170 ). Therefore, Cleaver explains his attraction to white women as an attraction to the long established symbols of freedom and racial supremacy. This idea is comparable to the symbols of freedom in Guess Who s Coming to Dinner. Toplin argues that love and the ability to choose a mate without restrictions symbolized freedom in Kramer s film (Harris and Toplin, 707). Ponzi schemes uses appearance and finesse to get investors to continually reinvest their money with no return. Usually the head of the ponzi scheme is someone trust worthy like Madoff. The media is in a race on putting out information. The danger is that there is no checking to make sure the information is true. Media is in a cycle of the news getting a hold of an alternative fact, the media spreading it, a powerful source restating the information, and the general audience seeing that story as fact. That information can then be turned into political policies and ideologies. When the person that are spreading the wrong facts gets challenged with the truth, they tend to a backlash towards the critic. Gladstone spent the reading illustrating how false news gets spread. Facts can be giving because they are catchy. This does not make them accurate. When a powerful source gets the fake news, that is when there is a problem. Technology increases the likelihood of alternative facts being caught. There is a problem when the person who spoke the information refuses to admit their mistake. Gladstone uses the example of Lou Dobbs to show this point ( Gladstone 54). He stated that if we reported it, it s a fact when confronted with the inaccurate numbers he used in his report. Trump does a similar argument when confronted with his wrong information. Bill O Rielly pointed out that Trump was wrong when he stated that thousands of Muslims were seen celebrating after 9/11. Trump refused to admit his mistake, but instead used a Breitbart article that agreed with him as his defense (Oliver). This shows that people are after the news the want to hear. There is no major religion in the world that has ever altered the definition of marriage to include same sex couples (Barlow, 2003). In general, it can be said that many religious people have strong views on same sex marriage, declaring it wrong because of their religious beliefs. There are two main reasons why many religious groups are against same sex marriage. The first argument is that people who are gay are not able to procreate. They do not have the correct corresponding body parts to make children (Waldman, 2003). Anyone who has taken sex education knows that humans can not reproduce without a male s sperm and a female s egg. The International Monetary Fund ( Imf ) Introduction In the statement of the 2015 Article IV Consultation Mission to China, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) concluded that the Chinese economy was transitioning to a safer and higher quality growth. In particular, the IMF highlighted that China had made good progress in recent years in reducing its large current account surpluses and its huge accumulation of foreign exchange reserves. Although undervaluation of the yuan was a major factor causing the large imbalances in the past, the appreciation of the yuan over the past few years had brought the yuan USD exchange rate to a level that was no longer undervalued. Exchange rate, the price of a nation s currency in terms of another currency, indicates the value of a currency: a higher exchange rate is associated with a relatively lower value of its corresponding currency. Since Chinese goods are usually valued in yuan, the only currency that is valuable for Chinese is yuan. That is, a Chinese is only interested in selling and purchasing goods in yuan. Foreign consumers, such as Americans, have to use yuan rather than dollars to purchase goods from Chinese sellers. Specifically, an American must exchange his dollars into yuan at first and then uses yuan to purchase Chinese goods. The compliance process also includes strategies such as benchmarking the practice s E/M (evaluation and management) codes with the national averages. This means that any given practice should compare their average codes and billing records to that of national averages to see how close or far the results are from the national results. Ion channels are the key players of this process, the membranes of excitable cells are studded with a myriad of these integral membrane proteins, which transduce chemical and electrical stimuli into currents of charged chemical species (Hille, 2001). Owing to their pivotal role in cell physiology, a large number of genes encode for ion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Adam Smith, a well known economist, referred to capitalist banking as the invisible hand guiding the path of allocation through goods and services throughout the economy. Commercial and investment banking quickly became the leading hands in the economy, as financial resources was a common scarcity in environments. Merchant banks that were privately owned performed the capital distribution function. During the civil war, commercial banks were state chartered financial institutions. He portrays this concept in this story by having 12 jurors try to figure out if a nineteen year old boy that grew up in the slums is guilty or not. The jurors automatically assumed that he is guilty only because of the fact that he was always getting into trouble when he was younger. Even after they heard all the unclear evidence that was given, 11 out of the 12 said that he was still guilty. If it wasn t for the 1 juror that spoke up about how the evidence wasn t clear, the boy would ve been declared guilty. There has been many cases up to this date that show this type of prejudice. • 43. Impact of Global Warming on Coastal Wetlands Essay Impact of Global Warming on Coastal Wetlands Professor s comment: Jane wrote this research paper for my Advanced Composition course. The assignment asks the students to read and understand six to ten articles within a research area of their choice, then synthesize the information so that a reader can quickly understand the present state of research in that area. Jane chose to look at how increased flooding and salinity might affect coastal wetland soils and species, and she organized the material clearly and effectively. What I liked particularly about this review was that it moved logically from the effects of flooding and salinity on wetland soils to the effects on the plants growing there to the overall effects on the wetland, both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, Ehhas been shown to decrease even further when soils are flooded with increased salinity levels (Baldwin and Mendelssohn, 1998; Flynn et al., 1995). Under these conditions, the soil medium becomes highly reducing and can affect wetland vegetation in two ways. First, and probably most significant, is the reduction of sulfate (present in seawater) to hydrogen sulfide, a known phytotoxin that has been shown to reduce wetland vegetation growth and/or survival at higher concentrations (Flynn et al., 1995). Secondly, highly reducing conditions can interfere with a plant s ability to uptake nitrogen by altering its form and availability in the soil (Webb et al., 1995). Other problems created by high salinity soil conditions include the change in water potential necessary for the plant to overcome the elevated salt concentration in the soil, and the possibility of toxicity due to uptake of Na+ and Cl ions (Flynn et al., 1995). Physiological Responses of Wetland Plants due to Increased Flooding and Salinity Although tolerance to increased flooding and salinity conditions varies somewhat by species, wetland species that survive these heightened conditions demonstrate either some or all of the following characteristics: lowered photosynthetic activity, ... In addition, the Ministry of Education specifies the curriculum for schools in China nationally. Almost every school in China uses the same textbooks for all subjects. Conversely, the system in the US is not as centralized. Individual schools and teachers have the right to decide what textbooks to use and what knowledge to teach (Stigler, Lee, and Stevenson 3). Teachers in China and the US use different strategies to engage students to learn new mathematical concepts; US teachers prefer to organize introductory activities, while Chinese teachers usually teach new materials directly with no opening activities. For example, when teaching the procedure of fraction multiplication, most US teachers have students apply manipulations such as playing with money or drawing and coloring areas in order to evoke students interests. Data shows that 18% more teachers in the US than in China use manipulation. Conversely, Chinese teachers rarely rely on such manipulative activities. They tend to teach the concepts and methods using area and repeated addition. Unlike the US teachers, they illustrate the methods by suggesting real problems and showing the proper strategies to use for different problems. 91% of Chinese teachers give examples of problems to teach the rules of fraction multiplication, whereas only 4% of US teachers use the same method (An, ... Odysseus from the epic poem The Odyssey, acts above and beyond his crew and the typical mortal. Odysseus uses his intelligence throughout his journeys to further develop his courage allowing him to be resilient in the time of crisis arguing he is a hero. Odysseus uses intelligence to guide him on his tricky journey home to Ithaca establishing that he is a hero. When Odysseus and his crew land on the land of the Cyclops, they get trapped in a cave with a human eating Cyclops named Polyphemus. Polyphemus turns hostile and becomes a serious threat to Odysseus and his crews chance of returning home. Odysseus uses his intelligence to get out of the disastrous situation by getting the Cyclops drunk and then blinding Polyphemus by using a stake with its fiery tip (Homer 9.443) and thrusting it into the single eye on the Cyclops. Odysseus keen sense of intelligence allows him to predict that Polyphemus would try to get help from his Cyclops neighbors so he plans ahead telling Polyphemus, Nobody that s my name. Nobody so my mother and father call me, all my friends (Homer 9.410 411). Odysseus, although physically strong, understands that outthinking an opponent often leads to victory and in the incident with the cyclops this theory held true. Odysseus predicted that once he burned the eye, Polyphemus would scream out in pain notifying his neighbors that something was wrong. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. In The First Theory,Realism, The International System Is In the first theory, Realism, the international system is defined by anarchy and the lack of a central authority, meaning that states are independent from each other and no structure or system can establish a forced relation among them. In this type of system, power is the main objective that each state plans to accomplish because only by achieving this power they can protect themselves and survive. According to this theory, there are different powers that a state plans to achieve for example the military power, the economic power or the diplomatic power. States seek to achieve the instruments of hard and soft power, to gain influence over other states and to accomplish this goal may be necessary to engage in war, conflicts or ... And the last assumption sees a country as a unitary actor . The nature of the international system defines the main problems that a country can face (Holsti, 1985) . Realism was a dominant model of explaining the concept of international relations during the past six decades and was considered to be a framework in order to analyses and understand better the First World War, The Second World war, and the Cold War. But, Classical Realism is described as a pessimistic theory of understanding the human nature, when is distinguished that egoism and self interested attitude are base of the phenomenon known as homopoliticus . According to Classical Realism, the question of why exists conflict and war in the world is founded on human nature characteristics. In order to eliminate this problem, later was developed a new theory, the Modern Realist theory, which pointed out that the structure of the international system can be used as an instrument to explain and understand more the state behavior. The Modern Realists realized that words like power , national interests or balance of power , are contradictory concepts. • 50. Big Puppet Essay The Theatre of the Big Puppet, also known as the Grand Guignol, was a theatre founded in 1897 by Oscar Metenier as an extension of the naturalist movement. The naturalist movement had been spread by André Antoine s Theatre Libre. The term Grand Guignol refers to any dramatic entertainment that has to deal with gruesome subject matter and features exaggerated explicit violence. A typical Grand Guignol Theatre consists of plays, going from suspenseful crime dramas to vulgar sex disgraces. But the main focus of the Grand Guignol was the horror play, which unavoidably included eye gouging, throat slashing, acid throwing, or some other just as gruesome climax. The Grand Guignol theatre has had an insightful influence on the art of horror performance and special effects. Now, special effects and the use of props is what really made the Grand Guignol so horrific and gory. Theatre professor and Grand Guignol expert, Mel Gordon, reminds us that the audience wanted to believe in what they were seeing, the acting was intense, and there was 20 to 40 minutes of suspense and dread leading up to the bloodletting. This shows that the impact of the special effects and their reality, along with other elements of the play, also got help from the acting.
