Uptown Funk Video Analysis
Uptown Funk is a funk, boogie song by Mark Ronson, featuring Bruno Mars. Uptown Special , a
extremely commendable album by Mark Ronson contains Uptown Funk and was released in 2015.
When I first listened to this song, it instantly earned a spot on my playlist. An insuppressible urge
surfaced from within me to dance, and the only thing that restricted me was my situation, in my car
with my family. Immediately upon watching the music video, I was enthralled by the video s
production quality and editing. Uptown Funk , one of the few rare instances in which the music video
had added additional substance and extravagance to the song.
Numerous other music videos have been produced by Mark Ronson and the only appropriate word to
describe them all with precision is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious . After watching all of his music
videos, I find myself to be particularly fond of Just Right ft. Mystikal by Mark Ronson in the view of
the fact that of it s light hearted humour and the smile it forced into me. Mark Ronson s music video
mostly suits the songs he makes, however, some fit like a square block in a triangular hole, namely
Just ft. Phantom planet. As entertaining as the music video is, it does not add an extra layer to the
song, but rather builds them up, thickening them. If this had been a different song, viz. a bland love
song, I would have succumbed to ennui and boredom. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bruno Mar and Mark Ronson s ensemble wear the standard business casual clothes in the era, polos,
blazers and pants. The troupe also wears some bling, acting as a nostalgic cherry on top. The group
performs in a CBD from the 80s, inciting more nostalgia for the middle aged. This music video shows
that Uptown Funk is not just any other funk song, but rather a portal back to the

Case Study Of Levi s Levi
Research Problem
After seeing glory for all these years, why could Levi s not sustain its popularity? The entry of
competitors in its market segment turned a classic to a lost case. How could a brand so appealing and
well defined lose its luster? The sloppy approach of the brand to combat its competitors shows how
tired the brand had been. For instance, the advertising done by Levi s for its Silver tab range was one
of the most hated advertisement. It was considered to be insulting and critics claimed that it lacked
branding . Similarly, the advertisement to promote Levi s low rise jeans which was released in 2002
had also received a negative response from the audience. The company failed to make it into the top

Three focus group discussions were conducted consisting of 7 students of the Institute of Management
Technology, Ghaziabad in each group. The participants were both male and female with the age range
of 23 to 28 years. Each of the discussion went on for around 30 to 45 minutes.
These discussions helped us narrow our list of attributes to the more important ones from the above
list. The selected attributes are price, fit, design, fabric, color and brand. Also we were able to map the
perception of the brand Levi s to the customers. Some results were derived on the basis of this focus
group discussion. Consumer doesn t mind moving towards other cheaper brands in clothing. There is
lack of differentiating factor in the branded jeans of Levi s as compared to other lower brands. The
Levi s brand for jeans does not belong to the premium club of jeans brand anymore. The value of the
brand is gradually declining in the mind of the customers. This result of the focus group discussion is
the basis for preparing our survey questionnaire for market

Women s Suffrage Rhetorical Analysis
The first meeting to discuss women s rights took place in 1848 at the Seneca Falls Convention in New
York. It was there that Elizabeth Cady Stanton proposed equal suffrage for women. At that meeting,
they drafted the Declaration of Sentiments which illustrated the oppression American women were
facing. Although countless, courageous women would sustain this fight, it would be 1920, 72 years
later, before Congress ratified the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote (Timeline of
Women s Suffrage). The defining moment in this long battle occurred in 1917 when Carrie C. Catt
gave her magnificent speech on women s suffrage to Congress. Catt s use of ethos, pathos, and logos,
helped persuade Congress to pass the 19th amendment. Carrie Chapman Catt used ethos as a method
to alter Congress s view of women s suffrage. Women s suffrage was not a new issue when Catt
addressed Congress on November 4, 1917. This fight had continued for over 70 years, and the
audience of male, politicians, had heard this before. By speaking of democracy and the principals, the
United States was founded by Carrie addressed their sense of patriotism and their moral compass.
American principals are used as examples for freedom worldwide; she stated, although no others
democratic countries unequivocally disallow women the right to vote. It is a death grapple between
the forces which deny and those which uphold the truths of the Declaration of Independence she
continued (Catt par. 7). This was

Analysis of Robert Forst´s Mending Wall Essay
Robert Frost deliberated a intention and was determined to get it across any way that he could. He
verbalized his feelings through Walls and Blockages, Descriptive words, and Seasons and Nature. The
aspiration of walls in this piece is to block neighbors and assemble a better relationship. Descriptive
words are used to portray a improved visual of what is designed to see. Robert Frost speaks of seasons
as if it were a human.
Wall s are blockages used to isolate a human beings wants and feelings. Privacy should be respected
by all although offensiveness was not intended by either neighbor. The speaker s logic was that the
wall blocking the properties were absurd. The essential purpose of the poem is the desire by one
neighbor to have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robert Frost used a word choice that shaped the readers mind into the outdoor scenery where the dog
is on one side of the fence barking.
Robert Frost is a major nature enthusiast. In the poem, Mending Wall, the speaker talks about the
Spring. Taking a literal approach, he used Spring, because it is the first season of the year. A new
beginning for two people that have had a protracted antagonism for one another. The speaker does not
understand how they are becoming good neighbors, because they are not cows. People often use
nature to express new beginnings and the start of something new.
Nature is a description of a Season. Seasons are the start of a new beginning. The speaker uses the
word Spring, possibly because it is the first official and whole season of the year. The neighbor could
be expressing how he thinks they should break the wall down and start over. A new beginning is what
he desires.
The speaker wants nothing but a friendship with his neighbor but the neighbor wants the privacy that
he feels he is entitled to. The speaker expresses how the neighbor is a pine cone. Pine cones are hard
and nettlesome. Pine cones are very arduous. Attempting to express his feelings, the speaker could be
referring to the neighbor as a pine cone, because no matter how bad he tries, the neighbor will not
break into fragments.
The last word or phrase that Robert Frost expressed within the poem was cows. The neighbor thinks it
is ridiculous to have

When a statement of cash flow is viewed along with the other financial statements, it provides
information that enables users to evaluate the changes in net assets of an enterprise, its financial
structure including its liquidity and solvency and its ability to affect the amounts and timing of cash
flows in order to adapt to changing circumstances and opportunities.
Under the heading, Benefits of Cash Flow Information, the ministry of corporation affairs describes
that, Cash flow information is useful in assessing the ability of an organization to generate cash and
cash equivalents that enables users to develop models to assess and compare the present value of the
future cash flows of different companies (Benefits of Cash Flow Information, Government of India).
As a result of this the cash flow statement enhances the comparability of the reporting of operating
performance by different companies because it eliminates the effects of using different accounting
treatments for the same transactions and events. Consistency in financial statements year over year
plays a large part in accounting as it allows management to easily compare the company s
performance.
How does a statement of cash flow effect business managers and stakeholders?

Pol Pot Became The Leader Of Cambodia
When I was younger, my mom would always tell us about her life in Cambodia. She d talk about the
small village she lived in, how everyone was close, how much she enjoyed living a simple life. She d
talk about the arranged marriage with my father, how they were so young, how Pol Pot came into
power, and how she came to America. This is her story. My mom was born and raised in a bucolic
trading village in Cambodia. Her parents sold charcoal at the local marketplace for a living. Her
family wasn t poor nor was they rich, but they lived comfortably and life was good. On April 17, 1975
Pol Pot became the leader of Cambodia. He was a communist and decided to lead the country through
totalitarian dictatorship. This was the day my mom s simple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Unfortunately, they did not know this was illegal and eventually were reported to police. They left
Vietnam shortly after because they did not want the police to find out that they were living in the
country illegally. They returned to Cambodia for a few days and made their way to Thailand.
Going to Thailand was dangerous and risky. My parents snuck onto the back of delivery trucks, hid in
cargo, and paid people to get closer to Thailand. Once they were close enough to the border, they rode
bikes through a secret path and got onto a truck that took them into the country. The emigration from
Cambodia and into Thailand was so secretive because Cambodia did not allow their residents to leave
the country at the time.
In Thailand, my parents lived in a refugee camp until a relative responded to their letters asking for

Mascot Analysis
Rationale, explanation of interest, or area of focus
This analysis will focus on the importance of mascots for the selected institutions and how they relate
to the normal livelihoods of the students in both universities. The term mascot is used to refer to an
animal, a person or object that is believed to bring some sense of good luck in various perspectives. It
is a term and phenomenon that has been consistently used through history to relate to the success of
various institutional activities, especially in the sports arena. Institutions with mascots tend to have a
deep history in terms of its selection and related significance. The two selected universities in this
assessment have peculiar mascot symbols that have been used for many years to derive distinct
meanings that represent respective cultures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since then, the institution has passed a joint ideology about the nocturnal bird to its students with
emphasis put on how it represents a sense of knowledge and wisdom thus a perfect symbol to use in
any center of learning (Temple University, 2015). Also, the owl mascot has been attributed to the
goddess Athena, who is mythically known for her wisdom, knowledge, arts, skills and precision in
warfare. From nature s perspective, the owl is deemed a resourceful, perceptive, courageous and fierce
fighter. These attributes have been prescribed to the university students for years with an objective of
building a learning culture in the institution. The main problem noted with the perception created for
this mascot is that the university has not reiterated on how the symbol can be incorporated to ensure
success in the extra curriculum activities. The university is not famous or well established in sporting
events, and this can be attributed to the message passed by the institution to the students (Owlsports,

French And Indian War Turning Point Essay
The French and Indian War Turning Point
During the French and Indian War, many things changed like the forced quartering of soldiers, the end
of salutary neglect, and self government, while the colonies not wanting to unite, the feeling of not
being represented in parliament from the colonists, and the neglect of a redress of the colonists
grievances from the king stayed the same. In the colonies, before the French and Indian war, life was
good. Things were simple in Britain s relationship with the colonies, they traded with each other and
Britain gave salutary neglect to the colonists trading with people they were not supposed to trade with.
Everybody was happy and taxes were limited, and internal taxing was not something Britain did.

The colonists were mad at the king because he forced them to fight in a war they did not want part it.
During the war, which we had already been fighting, the king had impressed us into the British army
and we were forced to leave behind our families and fight in the war. And when the war was finished,
we were forced to pay for the war expenses through internal taxes. The king had not internally taxed
us in over a century, so the taxes worsened the crack. In a time of peace, there were standing soldiers
kept in the colonies, which lead to the Boston massacre. All these were made okay because of the acts
in which Parliament passed. The quartering act forced us to provide housing and supplies to soldiers
who began taking away the jobs in the colonies. The Stamp Act forced us to have to pay taxes on
everything paper, including cards and dice. The tea act put excessive taxes on tea. All of these taxes
were imposed soon after the war, which made the colonists upset. But what upset them even more was
that they did not have anybody from the colonies elected into Parliament, making them feel like they
were not represented the way they should be. The intolerable acts were also implemented, which
threatened their self government, so they fought back against Britain by creating the Continental
Congress. After a few meetings of the Continental Congress, the colonies then decided to unite and

Surrogate Motherhood
In the past adoption was the only alternative for infertile women who wished to have children.
Advances in technology however have created new options for women who have a defective uterus or
defective ovaries. Two alternatives that are gaining popularity are straight surrogacy and host
surrogacy. In straight surrogacy, or traditional surrogacy, the surrogate mother is impregnated with the
sperm of the intended father by way of artificial insemination. In these cases, the surrogate mother not
only carries the child but is genetically linked to the child as well. She however relinquishes her role
of social mother to the intended mother. In host surrogacy the intended parents produce an embryo
through in vitro fertilization, which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such extreme cases however are rare and for the most part surrogacy is successful, with problems
being minimal. In fact research shows most cases are successful. In the largest and most representative
study of surrogate mothers so far, 34 women were interviewed approximately one year after they had
given birth. After handing over the child, eleven of the woman experienced only mild difficulties, one
reported moderate difficulty, and the rest reported not having any difficulties. After a year only two
reported experiencing occasional mild difficulties, while the rest reported none. In none of the cases
did any of the woman report feeling that the child was like their own. As it was put by one of the
woman, she never viewed it as handing over the child, instead she considered she was handing back
the child. Surrogate mothers often report feeling a positive sense of self worth, that seeing their
commissioning couple s faces once the child is born makes the whole process worthwhile. Surrogacy
has not only benefited many couples hoping to have children, but surrogate mothers wishing to give
the gift of life to a child as well. Surrogacy however has also raised ethical questions in determining
who claims the right as the legal parent of a child, sometimes creating problems that can be difficult to
resolve. Surrogacy should therefore be

El término Responsabilidad Social en Colombia
El término Responsabilidad Social en Colombia ha tenido diversas connotaciones desde su aparición
en el contexto empresarial. Las administraciones que asocian el término a un mecanismo de
exhibición gerencial materializado en donaciones y eventos aislados en momentos de conveniencia;

Positivism And Paradigmatic Approaches
The practice of qualitative research comprises of many different paradigmatic approaches. The main
three include positivism, interpretive, and critical approaches. These approaches serve as different
ways in which knowledge is socially collected and analyzed. Now, each paradigmatic approach
comprises of unique traits, some which are similar to each one another and others that are exclusive to
a specific approach. These similarities and differences will be examined below. To begin, the main
approach used in qualitative research is positivism. The Positivism Approach is rooted in philosophy
and used to pursue casual explanations by generating questions as hypotheses, otherwise known as
theory testing. Positivism uses the idea that there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In examining these relationships, Symbolic Interactionalism attaches meanings and attitudes to certain
people and objects. Another sub approach branching from the Interpretive Strand is the theory of
Dramaturgy. Dramaturgy figuratively compares the behavior of the individual or self to that of a
theatrical play. This concept emphasizes the presence of a front stage (public stage) and backstage
(private stage). Depending on the stage, the individual undergoes an impression management which
produces a distinctive performance. This impression management is a continuous individual
phenomenon. In essence, Dramaturgy is used to analyze how individual behaviors change in relation
to different surroundings. A third sub approach of the interpretive approach is Phenomenology.
Phenomenology focuses on the human consciousness and how it is experienced. Rather than its
presence being objective in nature, (as seen by positivist), phenomenologists argue that the human
consciousness is dependent on specific circumstances and is deliberate. The main goal of
phenomenology is to examine how individuals experience aspects of social life and living it also
stresses the fact these experiences are different for each individual. The last sub approach belonging to
the Interpretative Strand is Ethnomethodology. Similar to Phenomenology, Ethnomethodology studies
how individuals process their

Sunshine Chapel Narrative
I can still recall the day I stepped foot into Sunshine Chapel. The walls shimmered with a golden
sheen; the floor was marbled and impeccable. The pristine desk, the neat little rows of plush chairs,
the potted plants stationed at every corner... they all gave the chapel an air of quiet efficiency.
However, I could not help but feel as if their only purpose was to distract from the room s atmosphere.
The emotions of those who had once trod upon the chapel s grounds were still etched into the walls,
and no amount of scrubbing could erase them. The receptionist glanced up as we approached. Are you
here for Bich Lai s funeral? My father gave a gruff nod, while my mother only clutched my sister s

Persuasive Essay On Legalize Medical Marijuana
Many medically ill patients experience agonizing pain everyday that they can not easily control with
regular pain medicine, so what s the next best thing? There have been many recent cases where
medical patients have used medical marijuana for therapeutic uses and found that it had slowed the
progression of their disease or helped cure it. Medical marijuana has started to become more popular
with medical communities and researchers. Medical marijuana can affect many things in a positive
way such as financial situations and social aspects, while having benefits on medical illnesses.
Medical marijuana that does not contain the THC drug should be legalized in the United States
because it would provide therapeutic benefits without making the user feel high. The District of
Columbia and approximately thirty states have laws that allow some sort of medical marijuana use.
Since there is about half of the 50 states that have legalized medical marijuana it would be tough for
patients to travel to another state if it is not legalized through the United States. The United States
needs to legalize medical marijuana so that patients who are traveling to hospitals throughout the
country, such as the Mayo Clinic, do not need to worry about restrictions with their marijuana. If a
person traveling to the Mayo Clinic where to get pulled over, they could suffer great fines, or even
face jail time, because Minnesota might not support legalized medical marijuana. Changing the laws

synergistically when all three are applied appropriately. Holiness for the Christian is a single minded

Christian ethics are described as the application of Christian values. Leaders, who are Christians,

Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his I Have a Dream Speech on the Washington Mall 47 years ago,
and Mother Teresa was born a century ago.
Monday: Katrina; Tuesday: I Have a Dream; Today: Mother Teresa
After spending a great deal of time on and devoting a good deal of space to the two previous subjects
in this series on recent anniversaries, 2005 s devastating Hurricane Katrina and the world changing
1963 I Have a Dream speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I had looked forward to writing an
innocuous, little piece on one of the two saints I have ever known.
Pope John Paul II was one, Mother Teresa was the other.
Not that I personally met with either the pope or the Catholic nun Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, later to be
known as Mother Teresa, but I felt that a few words commemorating the anniversary of her birth in
Shkoder, Albania on August 26th, 1910 were in order.
Agnes middle name, Gonxha, meaning Rosebud, may be somewhat difficult to pronounce in English
but this

Writing Styles Of My Writing Style
Sometimes when I look at the writing styles of my peers, be it on social media, emails I can sense a
distinction between the different writing styles that are used. When I m writing whether it be in an
email, text or a lab report I try my best to write everything more formally and longhand, which a lot of
people tend to overlook in today s society.
The last thing I wrote was a letter that I had sent to my significant other through the mail. The nuances
of writing seem to be disappearing from today s society, the finer intricacies of the English language
will be lost in a generation or two, and cursive language is no longer being taught in schools, with all
the abbreviations being used a lot of writing feels less personal and more mechanical.

Conformity And Rebellion Essay
The idea of conforming or rebelling to or against, respectively, a person, group, or thing is
subconsciously occurring at all times whether it is known or not. Is the teenage boy going to conform
to the idea of underage drinking once his friend hands him the warm beer? Or perhaps he will push the
beer away in an act of rebelling against the action. Such a simple demonstration creates the realization
that conformity and rebellion constantly occur. Conformity and rebellion play a very active role in
daily life and decision making that all individuals make. The idea of conformity is a social influence
involving a change in belief or behavior in order to fit in with a group. ( What is Conformity? ) People
see conformity as being a demonstration ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rebellion is known as the opposition to one in authority or dominance ( Rebellion ). Often when the
term rebellion is mentioned, one may first imagine a group of unwelcoming individuals raising arms
against a group in higher power such as those during the Revolutionary War. The Revolutionary War
saw the colonists fighting back against the British who the colonists thought ruled unfairly. The
Revolutionary War is an example of violent and confrontational rebellion but rebellion is not limited
to loud and outlandish actions. Rebellion can also apply to subtle, almost unnoticed actions. Such can
be said about those opposed to wearing animal products such as leather and furs. An individual that is
opposed to animal cruelty may rebel against the action of wearing animal products by avoiding them
altogether. As for personal demonstration, I recall being in middle school when a plethora of kids were
playing with the Nintendo Wii, a newly released gaming console. Almost every friend of mine had the
Wii and played it extensively. However, I was not amused by the system and decided that I didn t want
to take part. I then began to rebel by not partaking in playing the game. This example of mine
demonstrates a non aggressive take on rebellion, as I did not raise arms against my friends in an effort
to show my opposition to the actions they

My Favorite Hobby Baseball Research
Today I am here to talk about my favorite hobby, baseball. Growing up baseball has been a big part of
my life. Some of the first memories I have and can remember are going to my grandparents house and
playing wiffle ball in the back yard with my grandpa and dad.One of the hardest things to do in sports
is hit a baseball. Some of you may disagree with this statement. However all hitting coaches will
preach to square up the round baseball with the round bat. Some of you may be saying to yourselves
that does not sound to hard. How are you suppose to square up two round objects? This just doesn t
make since.Secondly not only is it hard enough to hit a fastball when you are ten years old just starting
to play the game. When you get to the college

During the Medieval ages period there were different meanings to spiritual journey but somehow they

Figure 3.5: FAST Feature detection in an image patch. The high lighted squares are the pixels used in
the feature detection. The pixel at C is the centre of a detected corner: the dashed line passes through
12 contiguous pixels which are brighter than
C by more than the threshold. [33]
is applied to find top N points. FAST does not compute the orientation and is rotation variant. It
computes the intensity weighted centroid of the patch with located corner at center. The direction of
the vector from this corner point to centroid gives the orientation. Moments are computed to improve
the rotation invariance. So, in ORB, a rotation matrix is computed using the orientation of patch and
then the BRIEF descriptors are steered according to the orientation. ... Show more content on

The Lucas Kanade method relies on three main assumptions:
Pixel intensity does not change between frames.
Chapter 3. System Composition 26
Figure 3.6: Visualization of optical flow.[11]
Neighboring pixels have similar motion.
Movement is small between frames.
The first assumption is needed as the method operates directly on the intensity of the image, if these
were to change much between each frame the algorithm would fail. The second assumption is needed
as the algorithm uses a window around the point of interest. The window is necessary as (u, v) cannot
be computed from just one pixel. The last assumption is needed as the algorithm uses a search window
to find the vector (u, v). If the movement between frames are too large it may fall outside of the search
window and the vector can not be calculated.
u and v are found by solving the equation shown in (3.6). Ix and Iy are the hori zontal and vertical
gradient images within the search window. These are found by convolving the image with the vertical
and horizontal Sobel kernels. q1, q2 , . . . , qn are the pixels coordinates of the pixels in the
neighborhood of the point being evaluated. Ix(q1)v + Iy (q1)u = −It(q1)
Ix(q2)v + Iy (q2)u = −It(q2)

Suppression and Hence Deterioration in the State of the...
In A Modest Proposal , swift has portrayed the 18th century Ireland as plagued with the problem of
overpopulation, unemployment, poverty and the exploitation of the labor class by the
bourgeoisie(middle class). The same problem being addressed by Karl Marx in sociological labor
theories. The course of actions suggested by Swift J is, however, adverse and sets forth an example of
a satirical classic piece of literature viewed and analyzed by many people over the centuries. The
theme of the essay is suppression and hence deterioration in the state of the Catholic subjects at the
hands of their Protestant Landlords and similar conditions pertaining to 1729 in Ireland. These
problems were partly due to the Irish Catholics supporting the ... Show more content on

Swift even goes far enough to determine the cost incurred by parents in bearing and rearing such
children till one year of age and the profit they can make on the sale. Here, in the veil of heavy
sarcasm Swift addresses another ill of the Irish society, that being ill treatment and physical assault by
men of their wives. Swift claims here that if the husband knows that kicking the wife would
potentially harm the child that can be sold for money in the market he will treat his wife more
affectionately as she is about to generate income for the family. The leering rhetorical challenge of this
satirical essay is capturing the attention of an audience who has appeared indifferent and desensitized
at many occasions, this shocking appeal immediately captures their attention. From the starting logos
appeal the appeal later in the passage becomes more ethos based as it challenges the morality of the
society. The writer appeals to the ethos of the audience by claiming himself as honest time and time
again and stating overtly that he has no personal interest as he has no minor children. Swift gives the
impression that all the passage comes straight from the heart due to compassion for the Irish
population and the concern for their well being. By doing this, Swift becomes practically successful in
the eyes of the audience as it portrays him as the champion of the poor, destitute and oppressed and a
hero of the Irish people. Swift also here distances himself from

Essay about Spanish Resistance to Napoleon
Napoleon and the Spanish Resistance
Throughout time, the military has been considered one of the key features in a civilization. It has been
considered the heart and soul of many countries and empires and has been the center of many cultures.
Throughout history we have seen many military leaders and military powers. We have seen military
techniques and technology change as we progress. Our schools are filled with legends of great war
heroes and hard fought battles. One such hero is Napoleon Bonaparte, perhaps one of the greatest
generals who ever lived. In his adventures and conquest, as general of the French army, he warred
against many lands. These included Spain, in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some guerillas will even use crowds to conceal themselves, called urban guerillas. Urban guerillas
have to rely heavily on support from the citizens. Guerilla warfare basically relies on one standard.
The element of surprise. Often, guerillas will not be in uniform and carry just a concealed weapon. By
doing this it helps the guerillas startle the enemy and catch them off guard, giving them the clear cut
advantage. Also, the enemy is always in a state of fear, never knowing when or where these guerillas
could pop out and attack. They are constantly on watch and they tire easily. By using guerilla warfare,
forces are able to lower they re casualties while increasing their opponents, even if they are winning
cheap. Because they often time use cowardly tactics, guerillas are usually considered terrorists by their
opponents. Sometimes however, this can be true. Guerillas in some cases have used propaganda, or
started revolts to win over their cause. Instead of trying to defeat their enemy, they try to create chaos,
hoping to drive their enemy out. Massive riots and sabotage are not at all uncommon in guerilla wars.
All in all, guerilla warfare is the use of unconventional war tactics used against enemies that follow
these conventional laws.
Now that we have cleared that up, lets move to the actual events that took place. Spanish resistance
was mainly part of the Peninsular War, or as some call it, Napoleon s

The Tasks Of A Freelancer
As 16th April is observed as Stress Awareness Day and April as Stress Awareness Month, I wish to
share a few tips that can help you all, specifically freelancers, to lead a stress free and happy life.
Nevertheless, stress is often contemplated as negative feeling, but preparing yourself to reducing and
pacing with it is the gateway to many great opportunities.
The tasks of a freelancer, is a slackly defined amalgam of projects, tasks, time, and a plethora of other
responsibilities to stretch you in all direction possible. There are times, it often happens to me, when it
all gets too much to handle and you burry under the weight of what seems to be almost impossible.
Any freelancer at some stage of his/her career is going to encounter such situation. But such moments
of anxiety are like water bubbles which fade away instantly. To alleviate stress and remain focused on
your business you can do a lot in your daily life. Here are some tips that have always worked as
panacea for me.
1. Optimistic Thinking: Positive thinking is a powerful weapon in weeding out the negative vibes.
Going Orwellian is not the solution, it means you appropriately address the negative and emphasize
the positive.
2. Take it lightly: Most of your worries are not within your control, especially if you are a freelancer.
Let the worries go. There is no point of worrying over something that is beyond your territory.
3. Relax: Take time off your schedule to learn some relaxation techniques and

Norman Bates Character Analysis
Norman Bates is a middle aged man who is the owner of a not so popular motel along with his mother.
For many years Norman has lived alone with no friends, family, or even many visitors to keep him
company. But it was not like he was actively seeking out human interaction either, rather it seems as if
he has tried to avoid it. There are many examples of his antisocial tendencies, such as when mother
yells at him for not attracting people to the motel or doing his job: Why didn t you turn on the sign
when it got dark? And why aren t you up at the office where you belong? (Bloch 12 13). One would
expect the owner of motel to want people s business and do his job to make money, but Norman seems
like he is actiavely avoiding his duties on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately for Norman, this was the case of his mother s death. Throughout the whole passage
Norman appears to talking his mother, but in reality he is actually just talking to his other personality
who became his mother. This is known as dissociative identity disorder: a disorder characterized by
the presence of two or more distinct personality states. When his mother says I know what you re
thinking Norman. I know all about you, boy. More than you dream. But I know that, too what you
dream...That s why you never get rid of me, even if you really wanted to (Bloch 17 18). This is
reinforcing the fact that he is in fact not talking to his actual mother, but rather the personality he
developed in his mind after her passing. The only only way a momma s boy could cope with such a
traumatic incident is to act like she has never been gone. When Norman kills he thinks it is his mother
telling him to do that, but it really himself displacing all of his anger and frustrations on innocent
people because deep down he is still trying to get that affection from his mother, but it will never

Compare Amour Et Psych, Enfants And The Pursuit Of Happyness
he painting Amour et Psyché, enfants is an oil painting by William Adolphe created in 1890 and the
motion picture the Pursuit of Happyness by Steven Conrad both effectively convey the power of love
in a time of despair. In this paper, I will argue that both Amour et Psyché, enfants and The Pursuit of
Happyness both communicate how the role of love plays into overcoming hardships. In the following
paragraphs, we will consider the inspirations, scenery, techniques used to convey the mood and the
stories behind these artworks that shed light in the depiction of love within and after sorrow.
Furthermore, within these two pieces of painted and cinematic artwork, the inspirations that sparked
their creation help you to understand that both of the creators are trying to interpret a different way of
communicating love. Hence, this gives us a better understanding of what the pieces are trying to
portray. Amour et Psyché enfants was inspired by a story written by Apuleius, Cupid and Psyche were
one of Bouguereau s favorite myths, and he painted it quite often. He was inspired by the prominence
of peace and love that prevails after enduring hardships. Likewise, he was also inspired by the
innocence and purity of Jr which he symbolized in the style in which he painted. For example, the way
he chose to paint the children is well thought out and meaningful. Their pale skin is luminous and has
a rosy complexion to symbolize their purity. On the other, The event that

Nemerov s The Vacuum
The Vacuum is a poem about the emptiness of an old man after his wife died. Nemerov started by
presenting the environment in which the old man lived in. He also pointed out that the vacuum cleaner
was in a corner, seemingly grinning (4) at him. He then stated that after his old wife has passed away,
she seemed to be inside the vacuum cleaner (8, 9), cleaning up the house whenever the old man used
it. The poet further expressed his feeling of loneness by recalling his days with his wife, where she
crawl (s), in the corner and under the stairs . (12) At the end, Nemerov expressed his views on his life,
how it was like dirt (13), without the company of his wife.
The title of the poem is very symbolic, in a sense that it reflects the emptiness ... Show more content

In it, Nemerov expressed his utter despair for his life as well as the grievances that he faced whenever
he uses the vacuum cleaner. Nemerov viewed his life as cheap as dirt (13) without his wife by his side.
This line fully expresses his sorrow and misery as an old widower. At the last two lines, he concluded
the poem by elaborating that the hungry, angry heart (14) still hangs on and howls , biting at air (15).
As the vacuum cleaner is personified as the poet s wife, whenever the vacuum cleaner is used, in
which a howling sound will be heard and the machine sucks in air, the poet will remember his wife.
Therefore, he will grief and feelings of despair will flood over him. This is what the poet leaves us to

Antibiotics Lab Report
The purpose of this experiment was to test the effectiveness of different antibiotics. The antimicrobial
activity of selected antibiotics and hand sanitizer on different bacteria was evaluated. The method used
to determine antibiotic sensitivity was the sensitivity disk method. Antibiotics were put onto paper
disks and then placed on agar plates that had been spread with bacterial culture. The plate was
incubated for a week, and then the zone of inhibition (area of no bacterial growth) around the disk was
measured. This measure of the inhibition zone indicated the susceptibility or resistance of the
bacterium to the antibiotic. And by comparing the experimentally determined zone diameters with
known diameters, susceptibility patterns known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each group determined the zone size of the bacterial strains in the different antibiotics. Additionally,
by comparing their measured data to the zone diameter interpretive chart in the lab procedure, the
groups determined whether their bacterial strains were resistant, intermediate, or susceptible to the
antimicrobial agents used. In the end, all groups shared their data with each other. This table shows the
collective data for the lab section. One bacterial strain, Escherichia coli, MZ8 was not picked by any
group so there was no data for it.
Discussion: If a bacterial strain is susceptible to an antibiotic, it can be inhibited by a concentration of
this drug. The antibiotic will be associated with a high chance of therapeutic success. If a bacterial
strain is said to be intermediate when it is inhibited by a concentration of this drug, then it is
associated with an uncertain therapeutic effect. And if a bacterial strain is said to be resistant to an
antibiotic, then this drug is associated with a high chance of therapeutic failure.

I Am About The American Culture And History
Today I am about to meet my prospective grandmother from the States! I am excited to chat up with
some silent generations from America and it is my chance to soak up some American culture and
history. As a foreigner who never had the opportunity to talk to someone older than 50; it s a pleasure
to see how thing will end up. Initially, I am not expecting much nor less from the conversations, but to
my wonders, it opened my eye quite a bit to how different culture have a different style of generation
core values and perspectives in life. And as a Thailand born Taiwanese college student who flew all
the way from Asia to America, this is a blessing to experience.
My intergenerational partner, Carolyn Zeiger, is 73 years young and a retired licensed psychologist.
She used to work as a meditative practitioner for individuals who has Parkinson s Disease. Carolyn is
a Silent, and I am glad that we have something in common even before we meet in person. As the
students pair up with their intergenerational partner, I scanned the room attempting to find a lady with
short white hair and a pair of glasses (Based on her photo I saw in the intergenerational webpage).
Like a child looking for his parents, I spotted Carolyn, and she made eye contact with me. She is a bit
shorter than me, and her voice is astoundingly calm and soothing. Both of us introduced ourselves,
and we sat down to further talk about our lives. My first impression was that my partner is highly
educated,

  • 2. Uptown Funk Video Analysis Uptown Funk is a funk, boogie song by Mark Ronson, featuring Bruno Mars. Uptown Special , a extremely commendable album by Mark Ronson contains Uptown Funk and was released in 2015. When I first listened to this song, it instantly earned a spot on my playlist. An insuppressible urge surfaced from within me to dance, and the only thing that restricted me was my situation, in my car with my family. Immediately upon watching the music video, I was enthralled by the video s production quality and editing. Uptown Funk , one of the few rare instances in which the music video had added additional substance and extravagance to the song. Numerous other music videos have been produced by Mark Ronson and the only appropriate word to describe them all with precision is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious . After watching all of his music videos, I find myself to be particularly fond of Just Right ft. Mystikal by Mark Ronson in the view of the fact that of it s light hearted humour and the smile it forced into me. Mark Ronson s music video mostly suits the songs he makes, however, some fit like a square block in a triangular hole, namely Just ft. Phantom planet. As entertaining as the music video is, it does not add an extra layer to the song, but rather builds them up, thickening them. If this had been a different song, viz. a bland love song, I would have succumbed to ennui and boredom. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Case Study Of Levi s Levi Research Problem After seeing glory for all these years, why could Levi s not sustain its popularity? The entry of competitors in its market segment turned a classic to a lost case. How could a brand so appealing and well defined lose its luster? The sloppy approach of the brand to combat its competitors shows how tired the brand had been. For instance, the advertising done by Levi s for its Silver tab range was one of the most hated advertisement. It was considered to be insulting and critics claimed that it lacked branding . Similarly, the advertisement to promote Levi s low rise jeans which was released in 2002 had also received a negative response from the audience. • 4. Women s Suffrage Rhetorical Analysis The first meeting to discuss women s rights took place in 1848 at the Seneca Falls Convention in New York. It was there that Elizabeth Cady Stanton proposed equal suffrage for women. At that meeting, they drafted the Declaration of Sentiments which illustrated the oppression American women were facing. Although countless, courageous women would sustain this fight, it would be 1920, 72 years later, before Congress ratified the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote (Timeline of Women s Suffrage). The defining moment in this long battle occurred in 1917 when Carrie C. Catt gave her magnificent speech on women s suffrage to Congress. Catt s use of ethos, pathos, and logos, helped persuade Congress to pass the 19th amendment. Carrie Chapman Catt used ethos as a method to alter Congress s view of women s suffrage. Women s suffrage was not a new issue when Catt addressed Congress on November 4, 1917. This fight had continued for over 70 years, and the audience of male, politicians, had heard this before. By speaking of democracy and the principals, the United States was founded by Carrie addressed their sense of patriotism and their moral compass. American principals are used as examples for freedom worldwide; she stated, although no others democratic countries unequivocally disallow women the right to vote. It is a death grapple between the forces which deny and those which uphold the truths of the Declaration of Independence she continued (Catt par. 7). This was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Analysis of Robert Forst´s Mending Wall Essay Robert Frost deliberated a intention and was determined to get it across any way that he could. He verbalized his feelings through Walls and Blockages, Descriptive words, and Seasons and Nature. The aspiration of walls in this piece is to block neighbors and assemble a better relationship. Descriptive words are used to portray a improved visual of what is designed to see. Robert Frost speaks of seasons as if it were a human. Robert Frost used a word choice that shaped the readers mind into the outdoor scenery where the dog is on one side of the fence barking. Robert Frost is a major nature enthusiast. In the poem, Mending Wall, the speaker talks about the Spring. Taking a literal approach, he used Spring, because it is the first season of the year. A new beginning for two people that have had a protracted antagonism for one another. The speaker does not understand how they are becoming good neighbors, because they are not cows. People often use nature to express new beginnings and the start of something new. Nature is a description of a Season. Seasons are the start of a new beginning. The speaker uses the word Spring, possibly because it is the first official and whole season of the year. The neighbor could be expressing how he thinks they should break the wall down and start over. A new beginning is what he desires. The speaker wants nothing but a friendship with his neighbor but the neighbor wants the privacy that he feels he is entitled to. The speaker expresses how the neighbor is a pine cone. Pine cones are hard and nettlesome. Pine cones are very arduous. Attempting to express his feelings, the speaker could be referring to the neighbor as a pine cone, because no matter how bad he tries, the neighbor will not break into fragments. In the colonies, before the French and Indian war, life was good. And when the war was finished, we were forced to pay for the war expenses through internal taxes. The king had not internally taxed us in over a century, so the taxes worsened the crack. In a time of peace, there were standing soldiers kept in the colonies, which lead to the Boston massacre. All these were made okay because of the acts in which Parliament passed. The quartering act forced us to provide housing and supplies to soldiers who began taking away the jobs in the colonies. The Stamp Act forced us to have to pay taxes on everything paper, including cards and dice. The tea act put excessive taxes on tea. All of these taxes were imposed soon after the war, which made the colonists upset. But what upset them even more was that they did not have anybody from the colonies elected into Parliament, making them feel like they were not represented the way they should be. The intolerable acts were also implemented, which threatened their self government, so they fought back against Britain by creating the Continental Congress. Advances in technology however have created new options for women who have a defective uterus or defective ovaries. Two alternatives that are gaining popularity are straight surrogacy and host surrogacy. In straight surrogacy, or traditional surrogacy, the surrogate mother is impregnated with the sperm of the intended father by way of artificial insemination. After handing over the child, eleven of the woman experienced only mild difficulties, one reported moderate difficulty, and the rest reported not having any difficulties. After a year only two reported experiencing occasional mild difficulties, while the rest reported none. In none of the cases did any of the woman report feeling that the child was like their own. In examining these relationships, Symbolic Interactionalism attaches meanings and attitudes to certain people and objects. Another sub approach branching from the Interpretive Strand is the theory of Dramaturgy. Dramaturgy figuratively compares the behavior of the individual or self to that of a theatrical play. This concept emphasizes the presence of a front stage (public stage) and backstage (private stage). Depending on the stage, the individual undergoes an impression management which produces a distinctive performance. This impression management is a continuous individual phenomenon. In essence, Dramaturgy is used to analyze how individual behaviors change in relation to different surroundings. A third sub approach of the interpretive approach is Phenomenology. Phenomenology focuses on the human consciousness and how it is experienced. Rather than its presence being objective in nature, (as seen by positivist), phenomenologists argue that the human consciousness is dependent on specific circumstances and is deliberate. The main goal of phenomenology is to examine how individuals experience aspects of social life and living it also stresses the fact these experiences are different for each individual. The pristine desk, the neat little rows of plush chairs, the potted plants stationed at every corner... they all gave the chapel an air of quiet efficiency. However, I could not help but feel as if their only purpose was to distract from the room s atmosphere. The emotions of those who had once trod upon the chapel s grounds were still etched into the walls, and no amount of scrubbing could erase them. The receptionist glanced up as we approached. • 20. Persuasive Essay On Legalize Medical Marijuana Many medically ill patients experience agonizing pain everyday that they can not easily control with regular pain medicine, so what s the next best thing? There have been many recent cases where medical patients have used medical marijuana for therapeutic uses and found that it had slowed the progression of their disease or helped cure it. Medical marijuana has started to become more popular with medical communities and researchers. Medical marijuana can affect many things in a positive way such as financial situations and social aspects, while having benefits on medical illnesses. Medical marijuana that does not contain the THC drug should be legalized in the United States because it would provide therapeutic benefits without making the user feel high. The District of Columbia and approximately thirty states have laws that allow some sort of medical marijuana use. Since there is about half of the 50 states that have legalized medical marijuana it would be tough for patients to travel to another state if it is not legalized through the United States. Many people believe that their hunches guide them, but they are actually subconsciously filtering numerous possibilities until their minds can make good choices. The pixel at C is the centre of a detected corner: the dashed line passes through 12 contiguous pixels which are brighter than C by more than the threshold. [33] is applied to find top N points. FAST does not compute the orientation and is rotation variant. It computes the intensity weighted centroid of the patch with located corner at center. The direction of the vector from this corner point to centroid gives the orientation. Moments are computed to improve the rotation invariance. So, in ORB, a rotation matrix is computed using the orientation of patch and then the BRIEF descriptors are steered according to the orientation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first assumption is needed as the method operates directly on the intensity of the image, if these were to change much between each frame the algorithm would fail. Swift claims here that if the husband knows that kicking the wife would potentially harm the child that can be sold for money in the market he will treat his wife more affectionately as she is about to generate income for the family. Also, the enemy is always in a state of fear, never knowing when or where these guerillas could pop out and attack. They are constantly on watch and they tire easily. In this paper, I will argue that both Amour et Psyché, enfants and The Pursuit of Happyness both communicate how the role of love plays into overcoming hardships. In the following paragraphs, we will consider the inspirations, scenery, techniques used to convey the mood and the stories behind these artworks that shed light in the depiction of love within and after sorrow. Furthermore, within these two pieces of painted and cinematic artwork, the inspirations that sparked their creation help you to understand that both of the creators are trying to interpret a different way of communicating love.
