Importance Of Trailer Brakes In Florida
If you recently purchased your first large boat, you need to make sure that you meet all the legal
requirements in Florida before you haul your boat down to the water. Florida has specific regulations
in place for any trailers that are used to haul larger loads, such as a big sail boat, in order to keep you
and the motorist around you safe on the road.
Trailer Brakes
The first thing you need to do is make sure that each wheel of your trailer is equipped with its own set
of brakes. You are required by law to have each wheel on your trailer have its own set of brakes when
you pull more than 3,000 pounds of weight.
Most larger boats will exceed this weight capacity; your owner s manual that came with your boat
should include weight information. If your boat is close to or ... Show more content on

You need to be able to see these taillights from at least 1,000 feet away. Be sure to test your taillights
before you set off on the road.
Trailer Hitch Safety Backups
If your trailer is hitched to your vehicle, you need to make sure that you have some safety back ups in
place as well to keep your trailer attached. You can use chains or cables as a back up method to secure
your trailer to your vehicle.
Trailer Permit
If you are towing an oversized boat, you will need to obtain a permit. Luckily, the state of Florida has
made it relatively easy to obtain a permit. You just have to go to the Florida Department of
Transportation (FDOT) website and use their Permit Application System (PAS) to apply for a permit.
If you are only going to need to haul your boat a few times a year, you can apply for a trip permit
through the PAS. You can get approved online and print out your own permit. If you are going to be
hauling your boat on a regular basis, you are going to need to apply for an Annual permit. You can still
apply online for an Annual permit; however the permit itself is sent through the mail

Cambodia s Dominant Textiles Today
Cambodia is a country that has endured an abundance of war and turmoil, however over recent
decades the country has slowly recovered their rich culture and traditions that they lost during the
Vietnam War. The country today, still suffers from the loss they have endured within the structure of
their culture and society. In fact, Cambodia s dominant textiles today are an affect of the lost traditions
that have faded during the Vietnam War. Though warfare has torn a hole into their history taking
valuable traditions away from the country, Cambodia has adapted their way of dress and textiles
slowly to the modern world.
Located in Southeast Asia bordered by Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, Cambodia has a tropical warm
climate that is present year round. This accounts for the light daily attire as well as temple attire that
are worn throughout the country. Buddhism is practiced by 96.4 percent of Cambodians. The vast
majority of these belong to the Theravada school of Buddhism, which is also the official state religion
(Colgan, A. n.d. The People section, para. 3). The country s predominantly Buddhism following have
a profound impact on the art and textiles that have remained the same throughout the turmoil of the
Vietnam War. Between 1975 and 1979, under Pol Pot s leadership, the Khmer Rouge unleashed a
reign of terror that killed approximately a quarter of Cambodia s population through forced labor,
starvation, torture, and execution (Medvedev, 2010, p. 228). In fact with it

U.s. Securities And Exchange
The U.S. Securities and Exchange (SEC) was created in response to the 1929 stock market crash
which was responsible to monitor and regulate the stock market after the crash which led to the Great
Depression. Since the creation of U.S. Securities and Exchange agency multiple laws and regulations
were added to help maintain the balance and oversight of the exchanges and the stock market.
Additional laws and regulations have been added as a result in condition or incident within the stock
market, corporations, and securities. Several scandals since 2002 have led to an increase of laws and
regulations, these laws have led to controversial topics dealing with the costs associated by enacting
regulations. Are we over or under regulating, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Costs are not only measured with the effects of the economy in mind, they are measured in how they
will affect people and their future.
The cost of under regulation can be detrimental to the future of securities. As our nation s securities
exchanges mature into global for profit competitors, there is even greater need for sound market
regulation. And the common interest of all Americans in a growing economy that produces jobs,
improves our standard of living, and protects the value of our savings means that all of the SEC s
actions must be taken with an eye toward promoting the capital formation that is necessary to sustain
economic growth. (www.sec.gov, n.d.) This statement, part of the SEC introduction, describes the
monumental task to regulate and manage investments for everyone. Costs associated with under
regulation can be measured in billions of dollars lost over the past decade in businesses such as Enron,
Tyco International, WorldCom, and many others. These corporations misused laws and regulations by
inflating earnings and bad corporate accounting practices. The cost to investors was in the billions of
dollars and led to onset of laws to include Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002, Dodd Frank Wall Street
Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, and Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act. As
all these laws were enacted to protect investors, some controversies arose outlining second and third
order effects of imposed regulations. With all the

8 Principles Of Total Quality Management
Chapter 11: Total Quality Management and Quality Teams
1.0 Introduction
Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management approach that originated in the 1950s and has
steadily become more popular since the early 1980s. Total quality management (TQM) is said as a
management which approach to long term success with customer satisfaction. In this effort, all
members of an organization participate in improving processes, products, services, and the culture in
which they work. The TQM also can be said as continuous improvement so the continuous
improvement is based on a Japanese Concept called Kaizen, is the philosophy of continually seeking
ways to improve operations. It invloves identifying benchmarks of excellent practices and instilling a

Environmental Impacts Of The Sustainability Goals
In order for the sustainability goals to be successful and meaningful, the targets must be measurable.
By nature, some of the targets are more measurable than others. It is easy to measure those that are
quantitative as the goals are very precise. Target 14.1, to reduce marine pollution of all kinds can be
measured by surveying micro plastic concentrations in seawater and marine life (Global Ocean
Commission 2). Similarly, the goal of minimizing acidification can be measured by collecting pH
samples (Leadership Council of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network 172) and the
conservation of coastal and marine areas can be measured by collecting data on marine protected areas
(GOC 5). It is more difficult to measure targets that are more broad and subjective. The success or
failures of these targets are measured by monitoring programs, administering policies, law
enforcement and assessing the environmental impacts (4). For example, targets 14.7 and 14.9, which
look at the economical benefits and subsidies are measured by monitoring data and policies used in
various countries. Likewise, target 14.12, to ensure full implementation of international law, is
measured by looking at the number of flag states and countries who have ratified laws (6). Some
targets feature both precise and subjective indicators. For instance, targets 14.4 and 14.6 which deal
with the regulation of dangerous fishing practices can be measured by looking at the reported data of
fish tonnage within

Essay On The Devil And Tom Walker
Prelude:
I chose The Devil and Tom Walker for my fictional story. (The plot is below.) The story begins by
showing you the background of the story, and describing how miserly Mr. and Mrs. Walker are. Then
it shows Tom talking to Old Scratch (The Devil), who then offers Tom all the treasure of Capt. Kidd,
for a few conditions. Tom goes home to think about the offer, where his wife tells him to take the
offer. After many fights on the subject she goes to make the bargain herself, the devil tells her to return
the next night. She goes but doesn t come back, a day after she goes missing, Tom goes looking for
her where he finds her apron with a heart and liver in it. Tom makes the deal with devil next time the
meet, conditions and all, one of the conditions is, he has to use the money to start a brokers shop.
Years go by, Tom fearing the bargain he made with the devil will catch up with him, tries to be a
Christian, he carries a Bible everywhere he goes. However, while arguing with one of his client s, Tom
says in his wrath: Devil take me if I have made a Farthing. Next comes three loud knocks on the door

users who are part of information being shared, we have came across few really nice and promising
models. In this section, we are summarizing these methods one by one: Patronus: Augmented Privacy
Protection for Resource Publication in Online Social Networks[SR1] With the popularity of on line
social networks and the wide spread of smart phones, it is becoming more and more frequent and
convenient for individuals to share resources, such as status, texts, photos, videos, and so on, with
their friends over online social networks. Since online resources might involve several users at the
same time, it is not enough to protect the privacy of users with the simple group based access control
model (GBAC), which only regards privacy requirements of the resource owner. In order to provide
augmented privacy protection for resource publication in on line social networks, this paper proposes
the concept of resource involvers and a new access model named Patronus[SR1], in which, the privacy
requirements of the resource owner and its corresponding involvers are both taken into considerations.

Steve Ells is a chairman and CEO of Chipotle, and he wanted to transform the food from serving fast
but low quality to high quality. By year end 2005, Chipotle had 489 locations in 24 states. With an
unusually limited menu and the ability to have a customer s order ready quickly, Chipotle can serve
300 customers in an hour, keep the number of customers waiting in line at peak hours to a tolerable
minimum. Chipotle has re vamped their mission statement to a simple but effective, Food with
Integrity. This embodies Chipotle s position on the importance of using animals that are naturally
raised in happy environments. Chipotle believes it is important for people to know where their food
comes from.

Quilt Definition
An object that represents home to me is a quilt hand sewn by my grandmother as it is an objectified
collective memory of home. This quilt may be a common domestic object that is seen in every
household, but to me, it is a powerful connection of the home, which reminds me of my family s
comfort, care and affection. Henceforth, Home is an objectified as a metaphorical embodiment of
memory and relationships with my family (Morley, 2000)
Home as a place of feminine of comfort and care
Quilting has been a kind of litmus test of traditional femininity that has been practiced by generations
of Chinese women to gift quilt to their daughters or granddaughters as an object that signifies home,
so my grandmother sewn a personalised quilt for me as a memorabilia.
In this feministic tradition, the fabric was carefully hand picked, arranged and stitched deliberately by
my grandmother who is a figure of ghostly feminine of comfort, nourishes and cares (Morley 2000,

Conflict Within American Civil Society And The Jcpoa
in countering better funded opponents emerged in the context of this convergence of dissimilar
interests. Synthesis: Conflict within American Civil Society and the JCPOA The above potently
demonstrates the degree to which civil societal mobilization can serve to privilege diplomacy over war
in the context of even the most long running and intransigent instances of conflict. Indeed, and in
examining the civil societal contributions to the JCPOA discussed above, it is first critical to recognize
that pro JCPOA forces, at both the grassroots and grasstops levels, succeeded in defeating one of the
most powerful lobbies in American politics in the form of AIPAC. Given this reality, the triumph of
diplomacy over war that was embodied by the JCPOA, at a time when a propitious moment for
negotiations with Iran had been reached due to changes in both the Iranian and American diplomatic
landscapes, is one in which civil societal mobilization played a very significant role. Tangibly then,
the success of the deal demonstrates the degree to which ordinary citizens can influence the highest
levels of diplomacy when optimally organized and supported. Indeed, and in this context, one of the
most interesting elements of this civil societal mobilization, considering the degree to which grasstops
and grassroots interaction was critical to it, was the manner by which a relationship between civil
society, traditional interest groups and supportive members of the Congress was developed through

He passed on the news to the Colonel, and that was it. One must ask themselves how a policeman,
notified of intent to kill, could fail to perform a relevant act to stop the brothers the way Leandro did.
The policeman had no motive for not acting on the brothers; rather he was too ignorant to take them
seriously. Like others in the town, he had no interest in the activities of two drunken brothers openly
admitting to their plot.
Divina Flor, another townswoman who knew of the brother s plot, let her personal issue with Santiago
get in the way of her duty as a citizen of the town. Santiago s father, Ibrahim, had an affair with
Divina s mother, Victoria Guzman. However, the affair turned into a love/hate relationship when the

Divina was destined for Santiago, but she did not want to let that happen. He was just like his father, a

The Dumbest Generation?
People know a day s live in a generation where they rely on technology for an everyday basis, and
some might even say that they cannot live without it. Technology is very effective and useful, however
it can be the reason why this generation is considered The Dumbest Generation. With there being

Bauerlein s novel, The Dumbest Generation he mentions For young American, life has never been so
yielding, goods so plentiful, schooling so accessible, diversion so easy, and liberties so copious.
Furthermore, the meaning of this is that since everything is so accessible and easy people tend to
become more lazy and depend on the internet which doesn t help when trying to figure out things by
ourselves or to even do basic necessities in the future or ect. Adding on, he mentions As the survey

Early Mobilization in ICU Care Coordination The situation of Length of Stay (LOS) is a complex
issue of the healthcare environment. Each patient requires the effort of many different resources both
people and equipment before they are clinically fit to go home or more to the next stage of their

The Media as Conduit for Political Propaganda Essay
The Media as Conduit for Political Propaganda
According to the latest polls, 90% of Americans favor military retaliation for the September 11 attacks
on the World Trade Center. Taking into consideration that all aggregate data is used for self serving
means, this number is still exceptionally large. The numbers are manufactured by propaganda
vehicles, or rather the mainstream media. In a sort of Orwellian fashion, the media bombards the
audience with images, voices, and memoirs of death, grief, and pain that pervert their way into public
consciousness, creating a sort of group think. In the essay Propaganda, American style, Noam

Such is the nature of the democratic beast. This concept of manufactured consent , a term coined by
American journalist Walter Lippman, should come as no surprise considering that the media is a
vehicle and a product of capitalism. The metaphor of money equals power has a large stake in the
operations of the media. The news stations, newspapers, and radio stations are all controlled by a
powerful elite; yet, the media themselves are huge profit seeking corporations. They are integrated
into the market, and are thus subject to criticism and control by their stockholders. The stockholders
want the bottom line, or in other words, what they want to hear. Money and power are the means
through which the news is filtered, dissent is squelched, and political agenda is satisfied.
In Noam Chomsky s work Manufacturing Consent, the relationship between objectivity and the media
is explained.
The elite domination of the media and marginalization of dissidents that results from the operation of
these filters occurs so naturally that media news people, frequently operating with complete integrity
and goodwill, are able to convince themselves that they choose and interpret the news objectively and
on the basis of professional news values.
This concept of objectivity is unable to exist in a nation so reliant on systematic bias. The symbiotic
relationship between the media and the powerful elite makes it difficult for a reporter to cut of ties
with those who

support as a critical element in reading instruction as shown in student performances using targeted
intervention measures that align to the student s instructional level and to reading standards (Lemons,

In 1953, the U.S. Army introduced the Sky Sweeper, a 75 Millimetre automatic cannon, aimed and

1950s and 60s, heavy anti aircraft guns such as the Sky Sweeper were phased out, but radar guided
automatic guns of 20 to 40mm continued to provide a defense against low flying aircraft and
helicopters (M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage). The M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage, one of the
offshoots of the M3 family line, had origins in 1943. The M16 arose out of a need for a new, more
efficient self propelled anti aircraft vehicle able to keep pace with the armored columns stretching
from the various beachheads and streaming towards Paris, Rome, and Berlin. The M16 Chassis
remained largely faithful to the original M3 offering and was further based on the developmental
T1E2. The M16 began its U.S. Army service in 1944 and gave an excellent account of itself under all

flying threats and enemy pilots soon became aware of its battlefield presence when attempting to

Why Do People Respond To Fitting In
The problem with society is there is people who try to fit in and meet up to anyone and everyone s
interest/expectations but fortunately there is still people who are themselves and don t care what others
think as long as they re being who they desire to be and are happy. Things took place in high school
and we all know how high school is in terms of fitting in, Bianca in the movie tries to fit in with
everyone and do what everyone else is doing even If that maybe means doing things she doesn t even
care for, Katherine has been through the stage of trying to be like others to fit in and is the opposite of
Bianca, she wants to do whatever everyone isn t doing, or just not what everyone is doing at least
because she doesn t care about fitting in. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel like if I was like that, I d feel uncomfortable and I don t see how you d feel content or enjoy
yourself ever. I think Bianca trying to fit in says that she isn t that emotionally stable because if people
didn t like the person she was, obviously she has experienced that or is in fear of that for her to care so
much about fitting in, otherwise I think she could be insecure and so she feels the need to do what
others that are getting noticed are doing in order to feel accepted/feel better about herself maybe. In 10
things I hate about you, I loved when Cameron (Lucentio) tells Bianca, Just because you re beautiful
doesn t mean you can treat people like they don t matter. Katherine actually states in the movie, I don t
like to do what people expect. Why should I live up to other people s expectations instead of my own?
Which of course makes perfect sense. So I feel Katherine would be considered strong or emotionally
stable , especially compared to Bianca anyway. And Katherine clearly cares about her
health/happiness as well and is open minded which is a very good thing to be in

A Comparison Of Alternative Energy Sources
Amjed Hallak

E110/Period 5
22 February 2015
A Comparison of Alternative Energy Sources: The Need for a Change Against The Clock Energy runs
everything. Energy makes your cars move, powers electronic devices, and makes light bulbs give emit
light. Where does almost all of this energy come from? Currently, standard fossil fuels provide for
82% of the United States energy demand (Bradley et al.). Many people depend on power from a
highly limited source of energy known as fossil fuels. The world s main sources of these fuels suffer
substantial deprivation. The question of what will happen once these deposits become fully deprived
of oil remains a serious issue. The world will fall into turmoil unless a majority of people switch to an
alternative source of energy as soon as possible. Alternative sources of energy typically cost more
economically, although alternative energy sources remain much more reliable and green when
compared to fossil fuels. Along with reliability, with advancements in technology, those alternative
energy sources have the potential to take over the need for fossil fuels and become far less expensive
to harness and utilize. The utilization of these alternative energy sources would not only fix the issues
regarding the Middle East and having to rely on their harnessing of oil, but also many modern
economic problems remaining from the need for oil from the Middle East. Utilizing oil remains the
most standard form of fossil fuels.

Methods Of The Collection Of Aerosols
Methods of the collection of aerosols for analysis
Analysis of the composition of aerosols is very important for the development of many different
industries and areas of study; however this analysis is challenging because aerosol particles can be
difficult to collect.1 Aerosol particles can be collected onto a substrate and then analysed. The
collection surface can be a porous medium such as a filter operating at a low flow rate whereby some
or all of the particles suspended in the aerosol flow are retained. In many applications particles from
the gas flow are extracted by an externally applied force e.g. in a centrifuge or electrostatic
precipitator. The collection process should result in the sample taken being representative of the
aerosol in its original state therefore it should not be chemically changed in the process.
Characteristics such as mass, number concentration and size distribution of particles should remain
unchanged however it is difficult to prevent these changes.2
Aerosols consist of solid or liquid particles in a gaseous medium; therefore the particles must be
filtered and/or extracted into solution to prepare for chemical analysis. However carboxylic acid and
carbonyl containing compounds present in aerosols react with commonly used organic solvents such
as methanol over a timeframe of minutes to hours. Although an extraction solvent can be selected so
that it does not react with the aerosol particles, the solvent used will be dependent on the

The Police Service And Police Services
Chris Pattern, former Chancellor of Oxford University, once stated All parts of the society need to feel
that the police service is their police service, and that does not happen unless all parts of society are
represented in the police. (Higgins, 2014) For those of us that have lived in the United States, the
notion of having females in our police force is no longer a subject of major controversy. In other
countries like Afghanistan, the incorporation of females into the police force is a new occurrence and
is undergoing heavy resistance. Female officers undergo challenges daily, from mistreatment from
their male counterparts, to being targeted for murder on the streets by extremists. The fact that such
measures would be taken against them would leave many foreign to their customs in shock, including
myself, which further perpetuated my initial research. In terms of strengths and weaknesses,
withholding an entity that can otherwise be used beneficially can be considered a weakness. One of
which the USA had at one point in time, but has employed more willingly and even continues to seek
out. The lesser known Afghanistan will be analyzed first and then it will be compared to the more
familiar United States.

Analysis Of The Overlook Hotel
The Overlook Hotel is shown through extreme long shots throughout the movie. This is done to
establish the setting surrounding the hotel and make the viewer feel a sense of isolation. This adds to
the overall tone of the movie, as when things start to take a turn, the viewer feels a sense of
helplessness. At the beginning of the film, the hotel is introduced after a montage is shown of a car
driving down a long, windy road, surrounded by miles of trees, bodies of water, and mountains. While
these nature shots are being shown, unsettling music plays in the background. This montage
establishes a sense of isolation and makes the viewer feel how far and out of the way one must travel
in order to get to the hotel. Once inside the hotel, there are many high angle shots and large rooms
shown. However, as the film progresses and things take a turn for the worse, the shots are eventually
more confined, creating the sense of being trapped and isolated.
Both diegetic and non diegetic sounds are used to make The Shining have a much creepier tone. One
non diegetic sound is the music that is played at the beginning of the film. The music is high pitched
and whistle like, but also dramatic. This makes the film chilling from the start and makes the audience
aware that something is going to go wrong at the hotel. Another non diegetic sound that occurred was
when Danny was riding his tricycle through the halls and turned a corner to see the twin daughters
standing at the end of the hall. When

History Of The Omaha Tribe
The Plains Indians tribe that I chose to research was the Omaha Tribe. The Omaha Tribe lived near
present day Nebraska and parts of Iowa; however, the Omaha Tribe is most known for being native to
Nebraska. This tribe is still on a reservation in Macy, Nebraska today. This tribe is in Nebraska
because when the Europeans arrived to North America, they drove out the Omaha Tribe along with
many other Plains Indians Tribes. Today, the Omaha Tribe consists of around 6,000 members. The
Omaha Tribe was a unique tribe mainly because of what they practiced. The Omaha Tribe practiced
polygamy, which was the practice of one man having multiple spouses. In the Omaha Tribe, the

lived in bark longhouse villages. However, they then started to become accustomed more to living in
tepees, and that is what they mostly still live in today.
Only men were selected to lead the tribe until 1880. Men from the Omaha Tribe commonly wore
leggings and buckskin shirts with breechcloth. The wore moccasins on their feet. However, in colder
weather, they made long robes out of buffalo hide and wore them in the cold. The shirts were usually
fringed and dirty. The women of the Omaha tribe wore clothes made from buckskin

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised Summary
The Revolution Will Not Be Televised is a poem written by Gil Scott Heron. This poem was released
in the 1970 s. During these years the country was just getting past segregation and the racial tension
was still high. As a result, the government was filled with even more iniquity than it is today.
Therefore, black people were fed up with this mistreatment and because of that they began to riot.
Blindly, people would refer to these riots and televised actions as the revolution, but it wasn t. This
type of revolution cannot be seen, but only the results of the revolution can be. Through this poem Gil
Scott Heron is conveying exactly that. Revolution is something that happens within a person and
cannot be seen by human eyes. What human eyes see is the result of the revolution of what is inside of

The Effects Of Public Shaming In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The...
Last week in game three of the World Series, a professional baseball player named Yuli Gurriel made a
racist gesture after hitting a homerun off the opposing pitcher, Yu Darvish. Darvish is Japanese.
Gurrirel then called him a Chinito which translates to little chinese boy. Although the MLB suspended
Guriel for the first five games of the 2018 season, Yuli s social media exploded with hate. People were
calling him racist and were commenting that his wife should be hung and their children should be
raped. Although his actions were very wrong, people should keep their comments to themselves. The
act of public shaming is very obvious to most kids and adults in this generation, however, it is not
new. Public shaming has been around since the beginning of time and it is evident in literature like in
Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter. Of course, nowadays society sees it even more because of
the internet and social media. Whether online or in person, public shaming is an act of bullying and
punishment and it leads to depression and suicidal thoughts. The concept of public humiliation should
be left in the past because of its impact on a, b, and c.
Your topic sentence should introduce the main idea of the paragraph. Right now, it s just about Scarlet

The Problem And Its Background Essay
CHAPTER 1
The Problem and Its Background
Introduction
Diabetes is a systemic disease caused by a decrease in the secretion of insulin or reduced sensitivity or
responsiveness to insulin by target tissue. (Beale, et al., 2011) The incidence of diabetes is growing
rapidly in the United States and worldwide. An estimated 347 million people around the world are
afflicted with diabetes. (Whalen, et al., 2012) According to World Health Organization (WHO),
Diabetes prevalence among adults over 18 years of age has risen from 4.7% in 1980 to 8.5% in 2014.
It is the major cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attack, stroke and limbic amputation. World
Health Organization (WHO) projects that diabetes will be the 7th leading cause of death in 2030. It is
a complex and costly disease that can affect nearly every organ in the body and result in devastating
consequences. The leading cause of non traumatic lower extremity amputations, renal failure, and
blindness in working age adults, diabetes is also a major cause of premature mortality, stroke,
cardiovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, congenital malformations, perinatal mortality, and
disability. (Cefalu, 2000) Insulin therapy and oral hypoglycemic agents have demonstrated
improvement in glycaemic control. However, Insulin therapy has some disadvantages such as
ineffectiveness following oral administration, short shelf life, of the need for constant refrigeration,
and fatal hypoglycaemia, in the event of excess dosage.

My Experience With A Learning Disability
Sitting in class, I could not help but look around and notice that everyone else knew what they were
doing while I just sat there silently, pretending to fit in. I had no clue what I was supposed to be doing
because I did not really understand the lesson the teacher had just finished teaching. I didn t want to
ask a question because it seemed like I was the only one that was lost, so instead, I just sat at my desk
with my head down and pretended to write on my paper. I have repeated this scenario on numerous
occasions. In 5th grade, I was diagnosed with a learning disability which affected the way I learned
and my ability to understand what others around me said. My mom noticed that I was working really
hard to accomplish the same work that other kids my age did with less effort and in a shorter amount
of time. We saw a psychologist who sent me to a specialist who diagnosed me with a learning
disability in central auditory processing, and also had a very weak short term memory. Basically, this
means that my brain processes information slower than the average. Although my hearing is normal, it
takes my brain longer to comprehend what I hear and then process it. Sometimes I miss parts of what
people say because my brain is not able to understand everything that is being said all at once so I
need directions written down or given slowly in order to truly comprehend.
Although I struggled academically, I was not able to qualify for school services at the time according

Essay On Health Disparity In African American Men
The higher incidence of prostate cancer in African American/Black men compared to other
racial/ethnic groups is a major health disparity. The statistics surrounding this health disparity are
scary, with African American men having a prostate cancer mortality rate twice as high as whites and
a prostate cancer incidence two thirds higher (Modlin, 2012). The health disparity of African
American men s incidence of prostate cancer is a huge problem from a public health perspective
because it makes African American men less productive, there are higher costs in the healthcare field
than would be if the gap didn t exist, and a loss of sense of control from African American men

A biological influence on this health disparity is a genetic predisposition seen in African American
men. Several studies have shown a chromosome that is more common in African American men that
increases the risk of prostate cancer. The chromosome is 8q24 variants, which is the most commonly
seen, as well as, BCL2 and EphB2 linking to a higher incidence of prostate cancer (Modlin, 2012).
The genetic predisposition has also been proven to cause prostate cancer to be a more aggressive
disease in African Americans, likely leading to the higher mortality rates. The behavioral influence of
being less likely to get screened and the biological influence of a genetic predisposition interact to
influence the health disparity. There is no way of changing the genetic predisposition so that already
puts African American men in a place for higher incidence. Being they already have that higher
incidence due to genetics, adding into the equation African Americans being less likely to be screened
only makes the health disparity

Success of Southwest Airlines

The economic benefits of free trade are very apparent in today s society as globalization seems to be
the direction we are heading. In the United States we only have about five percent of the world s

Free trade greatly benefits the world s economy including our economic status here in United States of

What Did The Babylonians, Chinese Contribute To...
1. What did the Babylonians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Islamic, and Chinese contribute to
mathematics?
Babylonian: The base 60 system that is still used today in the division of hours into minutes and
seconds. They left clay tables that contained tables of multiplication, division, squares cubes, and
square roots, and the measurement of area and length. All of these allowed the solution of linear and
quadratic equation to be determined. They knew the Pythagoras Theory before invented and made
predictions of when an astronomical event will occur.
Egyptians: 1 Used math to solve practical problems (measuring time, the annual Nile flooding,
calculating area of land, bookkeeping, accounting, calculating taxes). 2 Introduced Approximation by
giving the approximate area of a circle. 3 Introduced the base 10 counting system they used for
measuring time, flood, areas and records.

Letters were given to each employee that March 8th morning, so there was no prior notice of this
bankruptcy. Aloha Airlines was in a very difficult situation. After the news was announced, many of
the employees thought the company would still keep operating and was simply filing bankruptcy
similar to how it did in previous years. There wasn t a thought of Aloha Airlines actually shutting
down. Some management employees stayed after receiving their letters, and many workers still helped
out. Similarly, I ve also talked to my boss, who worked at Continental Airlines as a Flight Attendant.
She had mentioned that the announcement was unexpected and they were not given a 60 day notice
when Continental Airlines decided to do a mass lay off. For a group member who worked in the
healthcare industry as one of the HR professionals did the mass layoff herself when St. Francis sold
the two medical centers to Hawaii Medical Center. Within two weeks of transitioning 1500 employees
to Hawaii Medical Center, their Chairman of the Board informed the Sr. Admin Team that they had to
cut one third of our workforce in two weeks. When they did this layoff, my group member looked into
the WARN Act and the HI Dislocated Workers Act. She then suggested to their Chairman that the HI
Dislocated Workers Act would then apply to this situation and therefore the employees has to be given
a 60 day notice. However, the Chairman

Bloodstain Pattern Analysis Investigation
a. RATIONALE:
It s not uncommon to find bloodstains at a crime scene, especially if a violent crime has been
committed. These bloodstains are crucial for forensic scientists because, when analyzed, they can fill
in details about the crime that was committed and even help investigators solve the case. Each
bloodstain is distinctive and it s size and shape is dependant upon several factors like velocity,
location, and angle of impact. For this experiment, I will be investigating bloodstain pattern analysis,
or BPA for short. Specifically, I will examining how impact angle affects the size and shape of a blood
spatter. This experiment, but more generally, BPA as a discipline is important to maintain the
foundation of the judicial system. This may seem like a bit of an exaggeration, but it isn t. BPA allows
criminal investigators to gain a better understanding of the scenario that occurred at a crime scene by
analyzing the distinct blood spatters left behind. With this information, the investigators are then able

I will be attempting to answer the question of how does the impact angle affect the size and shape of a
low velocity blood spatter? Going into my experiment, I believe that, as the angle of impact decreases,
the elongation of a low velocity blood spatter will increase and the spines and satellites of the spatter
will become more focused on the side opposite the angle of impact due to the gravitational force
acting upon the blood spatter. Therefore, I expect that, if the impact angle is 90°, the blood spatter will
be nearly spherical. The closer to zero that the impact angle becomes, the more oval like I will expect
the spatter will become (i.e. it will become longer and narrower). I also expect to see a distinct, though
possibly small, change in shape at each level of the independent variable because each consecutive
variable will vary by

Compare And Contrast The Second Treatise Of Civil Government
The two stories, The Second Treatise of Civil Government and The Albany Plan of Union are about
two different topics that contain similarities and differences. Some ways that make them similar is that
both stories show the importance of people s opinion. As well as the notion to come together as one. A
few differences between the two stories was that in one story an idea was accepted and in the other it
was rejected. Another difference is that one is more violent than the other.
In the story, The Second Treatise of Civil Government is about how John Locke wrote his second
treatise. It was about how the people have the power to change the government, ...he promulgated the
idea that government rests in the will of the people; thus those people

Interpreting The Results And Remediation
Interpreting the results and remediation. After the vulnerability assessment has taken place it is time to
interpret the results of the scan. This is where the organization finds out what the vulnerabilities of
their network are. The vulnerabilities that were found in the process of the assessment must be
categorized, most vulnerability scanners will produce reports that will list and categorize the threats
that were found, this is also called threat modeling which we will get into in the next section. Once
these results are analyzed the next step is to start remediating the vulnerabilities. Just like any other
updates, the remediation of vulnerabilities should be scheduled, change management is a very
important part of an organizations IT ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the scans are complete and the current vulnerabilities are patched it is a good idea to implement
a regular scanning schedule, once per month is an acceptable frequency to scan the network for new
vulnerabilities. Vulnerability assessment is a continuous cycle due do new vulnerabilities being
discovered every day, organizations must stay on top of their game if they want their organization to
remain secure. Figure 1 illustrates the continuous cycle of vulnerability assessment.
Modeling and Determining Threats Threat modeling is a way to categorize threats using a structured
approach to address the threats with the most potential to do damage to a network. An example of a
threat model that is commonly used to rate threats is DREAD, this acronym stands for Damage,
Reproducibility, Exploitability, Affected users, and Discoverability. Each of these categories is
assessed a value from 0 10 with 0 being nothing and the being the most serious risk. (OWASP, n.d.)
An approach such as this will assist an organization in determining the importance and priority of
threats on their network. Another commonly used threat model is STRIDE, as seen in Table 2. The
following sections will walk through the entire process of threat modeling.
Identifying Assets To model threats, the organization will need to identify their assets. The assets will
typically be critical

My Love Of Travel
For any person that went on vacations as a little kid, there will always be one that sticks out in their
mind. For me that vacation was a 2008 Disney cruise in the Bahamas. As a second grader getting to
miss school was a big deal. This vacation just happened to be during the last week of school that year.
I was incredibly excited to not only miss school but also get to go see a new place. In my family we
love to travel. I ve been in 3 countries and 14 or more states. This vacation was my start to all of these
places and sparked my love to see the world. One of the reasons this vacation influenced my love of
travel was that this was the first time I had been on a big plane. I love to fly places. Flying is a lot
faster than driving places and with two brothers that makes a huge difference.
On this vacation I visited one of the U.S. Virgin Islands, one of the British Virgin Islands, and Disney
s private island, Castaway Cay. Every day of the trip we were either at port on one of these islands or
spending our day on the boat on the way to one of these islands. When we were at port on any of the
islands we were given a time to be back then we were set free to get off of the boat and explore the
island at our own pace. We took a bus tour on one of the islands but on the others we got out and
visited some of the little shops or went to the beach for a day in the sand.
One of the memories that sticks out most to me was when my grandpa and I were standing in the
water at Magens

  • 2. Importance Of Trailer Brakes In Florida If you recently purchased your first large boat, you need to make sure that you meet all the legal requirements in Florida before you haul your boat down to the water. Florida has specific regulations in place for any trailers that are used to haul larger loads, such as a big sail boat, in order to keep you and the motorist around you safe on the road. Trailer Brakes The first thing you need to do is make sure that each wheel of your trailer is equipped with its own set of brakes. You are required by law to have each wheel on your trailer have its own set of brakes when you pull more than 3,000 pounds of weight. Most larger boats will exceed this weight capacity; your owner s manual that came with your boat should include weight information. If your boat is close to or ... Trailer Hitch Safety Backups If your trailer is hitched to your vehicle, you need to make sure that you have some safety back ups in place as well to keep your trailer attached. You can use chains or cables as a back up method to secure your trailer to your vehicle. Trailer Permit If you are towing an oversized boat, you will need to obtain a permit. Luckily, the state of Florida has made it relatively easy to obtain a permit. You just have to go to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) website and use their Permit Application System (PAS) to apply for a permit. If you are only going to need to haul your boat a few times a year, you can apply for a trip permit through the PAS. You can get approved online and print out your own permit. If you are going to be hauling your boat on a regular basis, you are going to need to apply for an Annual permit. You can still apply online for an Annual permit; however the permit itself is sent through the mail ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Cambodia s Dominant Textiles Today Cambodia is a country that has endured an abundance of war and turmoil, however over recent decades the country has slowly recovered their rich culture and traditions that they lost during the Vietnam War. The country today, still suffers from the loss they have endured within the structure of their culture and society. In fact, Cambodia s dominant textiles today are an affect of the lost traditions that have faded during the Vietnam War. Though warfare has torn a hole into their history taking valuable traditions away from the country, Cambodia has adapted their way of dress and textiles slowly to the modern world. Located in Southeast Asia bordered by Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, Cambodia has a tropical warm climate that is present year round. This accounts for the light daily attire as well as temple attire that are worn throughout the country. Buddhism is practiced by 96.4 percent of Cambodians. The vast majority of these belong to the Theravada school of Buddhism, which is also the official state religion (Colgan, A. n.d. The People section, para. 3). The country s predominantly Buddhism following have a profound impact on the art and textiles that have remained the same throughout the turmoil of the Vietnam War. Between 1975 and 1979, under Pol Pot s leadership, the Khmer Rouge unleashed a reign of terror that killed approximately a quarter of Cambodia s population through forced labor, starvation, torture, and execution (Medvedev, 2010, p. 228). Costs are not only measured with the effects of the economy in mind, they are measured in how they will affect people and their future. The cost of under regulation can be detrimental to the future of securities. As our nation s securities exchanges mature into global for profit competitors, there is even greater need for sound market regulation. And the common interest of all Americans in a growing economy that produces jobs, improves our standard of living, and protects the value of our savings means that all of the SEC s actions must be taken with an eye toward promoting the capital formation that is necessary to sustain economic growth. (www.sec.gov, n.d.) This statement, part of the SEC introduction, describes the monumental task to regulate and manage investments for everyone. Costs associated with under regulation can be measured in billions of dollars lost over the past decade in businesses such as Enron, Tyco International, WorldCom, and many others. These corporations misused laws and regulations by inflating earnings and bad corporate accounting practices. The cost to investors was in the billions of dollars and led to onset of laws to include Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002, Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, and Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act. • 6. Environmental Impacts Of The Sustainability Goals In order for the sustainability goals to be successful and meaningful, the targets must be measurable. By nature, some of the targets are more measurable than others. It is easy to measure those that are quantitative as the goals are very precise. Target 14.1, to reduce marine pollution of all kinds can be measured by surveying micro plastic concentrations in seawater and marine life (Global Ocean Commission 2). Similarly, the goal of minimizing acidification can be measured by collecting pH samples (Leadership Council of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network 172) and the conservation of coastal and marine areas can be measured by collecting data on marine protected areas (GOC 5). It is more difficult to measure targets that are more broad and subjective. The success or failures of these targets are measured by monitoring programs, administering policies, law enforcement and assessing the environmental impacts (4). For example, targets 14.7 and 14.9, which look at the economical benefits and subsidies are measured by monitoring data and policies used in various countries. Likewise, target 14.12, to ensure full implementation of international law, is measured by looking at the number of flag states and countries who have ratified laws (6). Some targets feature both precise and subjective indicators. For instance, targets 14.4 and 14.6 which deal with the regulation of dangerous fishing practices can be measured by looking at the reported data of fish tonnage within ... In this section, we are summarizing these methods one by one: Patronus: Augmented Privacy Protection for Resource Publication in Online Social Networks[SR1] With the popularity of on line social networks and the wide spread of smart phones, it is becoming more and more frequent and convenient for individuals to share resources, such as status, texts, photos, videos, and so on, with their friends over online social networks. Since online resources might involve several users at the same time, it is not enough to protect the privacy of users with the simple group based access control model (GBAC), which only regards privacy requirements of the resource owner. In order to provide augmented privacy protection for resource publication in on line social networks, this paper proposes the concept of resource involvers and a new access model named Patronus[SR1], in which, the privacy requirements of the resource owner and its corresponding involvers are both taken into considerations. Synthesis: Conflict within American Civil Society and the JCPOA The above potently demonstrates the degree to which civil societal mobilization can serve to privilege diplomacy over war in the context of even the most long running and intransigent instances of conflict. Indeed, and in examining the civil societal contributions to the JCPOA discussed above, it is first critical to recognize that pro JCPOA forces, at both the grassroots and grasstops levels, succeeded in defeating one of the most powerful lobbies in American politics in the form of AIPAC. Given this reality, the triumph of diplomacy over war that was embodied by the JCPOA, at a time when a propitious moment for negotiations with Iran had been reached due to changes in both the Iranian and American diplomatic landscapes, is one in which civil societal mobilization played a very significant role. Tangibly then, the success of the deal demonstrates the degree to which ordinary citizens can influence the highest levels of diplomacy when optimally organized and supported. Indeed, and in this context, one of the most interesting elements of this civil societal mobilization, considering the degree to which grasstops and grassroots interaction was critical to it, was the manner by which a relationship between civil society, traditional interest groups and supportive members of the Congress was developed through ... Such is the nature of the democratic beast. This concept of manufactured consent , a term coined by American journalist Walter Lippman, should come as no surprise considering that the media is a vehicle and a product of capitalism. The metaphor of money equals power has a large stake in the operations of the media. The news stations, newspapers, and radio stations are all controlled by a powerful elite; yet, the media themselves are huge profit seeking corporations. They are integrated into the market, and are thus subject to criticism and control by their stockholders. The stockholders want the bottom line, or in other words, what they want to hear. Money and power are the means through which the news is filtered, dissent is squelched, and political agenda is satisfied. In Noam Chomsky s work Manufacturing Consent, the relationship between objectivity and the media is explained. The elite domination of the media and marginalization of dissidents that results from the operation of these filters occurs so naturally that media news people, frequently operating with complete integrity and goodwill, are able to convince themselves that they choose and interpret the news objectively and on the basis of professional news values. This concept of objectivity is unable to exist in a nation so reliant on systematic bias. Energy makes your cars move, powers electronic devices, and makes light bulbs give emit light. Where does almost all of this energy come from? Currently, standard fossil fuels provide for 82% of the United States energy demand (Bradley et al.). Many people depend on power from a highly limited source of energy known as fossil fuels. The world s main sources of these fuels suffer substantial deprivation. The question of what will happen once these deposits become fully deprived of oil remains a serious issue. The world will fall into turmoil unless a majority of people switch to an alternative source of energy as soon as possible. Alternative sources of energy typically cost more economically, although alternative energy sources remain much more reliable and green when compared to fossil fuels. Along with reliability, with advancements in technology, those alternative energy sources have the potential to take over the need for fossil fuels and become far less expensive to harness and utilize. The utilization of these alternative energy sources would not only fix the issues regarding the Middle East and having to rely on their harnessing of oil, but also many modern economic problems remaining from the need for oil from the Middle East. • 24. Methods Of The Collection Of Aerosols Methods of the collection of aerosols for analysis Analysis of the composition of aerosols is very important for the development of many different industries and areas of study; however this analysis is challenging because aerosol particles can be difficult to collect.1 Aerosol particles can be collected onto a substrate and then analysed. The collection surface can be a porous medium such as a filter operating at a low flow rate whereby some or all of the particles suspended in the aerosol flow are retained. In many applications particles from the gas flow are extracted by an externally applied force e.g. in a centrifuge or electrostatic precipitator. The collection process should result in the sample taken being representative of the aerosol in its original state therefore it should not be chemically changed in the process. Characteristics such as mass, number concentration and size distribution of particles should remain unchanged however it is difficult to prevent these changes.2 Aerosols consist of solid or liquid particles in a gaseous medium; therefore the particles must be filtered and/or extracted into solution to prepare for chemical analysis. However carboxylic acid and carbonyl containing compounds present in aerosols react with commonly used organic solvents such as methanol over a timeframe of minutes to hours. Although an extraction solvent can be selected so that it does not react with the aerosol particles, the solvent used will be dependent on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is done to establish the setting surrounding the hotel and make the viewer feel a sense of isolation. This adds to the overall tone of the movie, as when things start to take a turn, the viewer feels a sense of helplessness. At the beginning of the film, the hotel is introduced after a montage is shown of a car driving down a long, windy road, surrounded by miles of trees, bodies of water, and mountains. While these nature shots are being shown, unsettling music plays in the background. This montage establishes a sense of isolation and makes the viewer feel how far and out of the way one must travel in order to get to the hotel. Once inside the hotel, there are many high angle shots and large rooms shown. However, as the film progresses and things take a turn for the worse, the shots are eventually more confined, creating the sense of being trapped and isolated. Both diegetic and non diegetic sounds are used to make The Shining have a much creepier tone. One non diegetic sound is the music that is played at the beginning of the film. The music is high pitched and whistle like, but also dramatic. This makes the film chilling from the start and makes the audience aware that something is going to go wrong at the hotel. During these years the country was just getting past segregation and the racial tension was still high. As a result, the government was filled with even more iniquity than it is today. Therefore, black people were fed up with this mistreatment and because of that they began to riot. Blindly, people would refer to these riots and televised actions as the revolution, but it wasn t. This type of revolution cannot be seen, but only the results of the revolution can be. Through this poem Gil Scott Heron is conveying exactly that. • 30. The Effects Of Public Shaming In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The... Last week in game three of the World Series, a professional baseball player named Yuli Gurriel made a racist gesture after hitting a homerun off the opposing pitcher, Yu Darvish. Darvish is Japanese. Gurrirel then called him a Chinito which translates to little chinese boy. Although the MLB suspended Guriel for the first five games of the 2018 season, Yuli s social media exploded with hate. People were calling him racist and were commenting that his wife should be hung and their children should be raped. Although his actions were very wrong, people should keep their comments to themselves. The act of public shaming is very obvious to most kids and adults in this generation, however, it is not new. Public shaming has been around since the beginning of time and it is evident in literature like in Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter. Of course, nowadays society sees it even more because of the internet and social media. Whether online or in person, public shaming is an act of bullying and punishment and it leads to depression and suicidal thoughts. The concept of public humiliation should be left in the past because of its impact on a, b, and c. Your topic sentence should introduce the main idea of the paragraph. The Problem And Its Background Essay CHAPTER 1 The Problem and Its Background Introduction Diabetes is a systemic disease caused by a decrease in the secretion of insulin or reduced sensitivity or responsiveness to insulin by target tissue. (Beale, et al., 2011) The incidence of diabetes is growing rapidly in the United States and worldwide. An estimated 347 million people around the world are afflicted with diabetes. (Whalen, et al., 2012) According to World Health Organization (WHO), Diabetes prevalence among adults over 18 years of age has risen from 4.7% in 1980 to 8.5% in 2014. It is the major cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attack, stroke and limbic amputation. World Health Organization (WHO) projects that diabetes will be the 7th leading cause of death in 2030. It is a complex and costly disease that can affect nearly every organ in the body and result in devastating consequences. The leading cause of non traumatic lower extremity amputations, renal failure, and blindness in working age adults, diabetes is also a major cause of premature mortality, stroke, cardiovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, congenital malformations, perinatal mortality, and disability. My Experience With A Learning Disability Sitting in class, I could not help but look around and notice that everyone else knew what they were doing while I just sat there silently, pretending to fit in. I had no clue what I was supposed to be doing because I did not really understand the lesson the teacher had just finished teaching. I didn t want to ask a question because it seemed like I was the only one that was lost, so instead, I just sat at my desk with my head down and pretended to write on my paper. I have repeated this scenario on numerous occasions. In 5th grade, I was diagnosed with a learning disability which affected the way I learned and my ability to understand what others around me said. My mom noticed that I was working really hard to accomplish the same work that other kids my age did with less effort and in a shorter amount of time. We saw a psychologist who sent me to a specialist who diagnosed me with a learning disability in central auditory processing, and also had a very weak short term memory. Basically, this means that my brain processes information slower than the average. Although my hearing is normal, it takes my brain longer to comprehend what I hear and then process it. Sometimes I miss parts of what people say because my brain is not able to understand everything that is being said all at once so I need directions written down or given slowly in order to truly comprehend. • 36. Essay On Health Disparity In African American Men The higher incidence of prostate cancer in African American/Black men compared to other racial/ethnic groups is a major health disparity. The statistics surrounding this health disparity are scary, with African American men having a prostate cancer mortality rate twice as high as whites and a prostate cancer incidence two thirds higher (Modlin, 2012). The health disparity of African American men s incidence of prostate cancer is a huge problem from a public health perspective because it makes African American men less productive, there are higher costs in the healthcare field than would be if the gap didn t exist, and a loss of sense of control from African American men because of financial concerns/aftermath of treatment. One behavioral influence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A biological influence on this health disparity is a genetic predisposition seen in African American men. The genetic predisposition has also been proven to cause prostate cancer to be a more aggressive disease in African Americans, likely leading to the higher mortality rates. The behavioral influence of being less likely to get screened and the biological influence of a genetic predisposition interact to influence the health disparity. These bloodstains are crucial for forensic scientists because, when analyzed, they can fill in details about the crime that was committed and even help investigators solve the case. Each bloodstain is distinctive and it s size and shape is dependant upon several factors like velocity, location, and angle of impact. For this experiment, I will be investigating bloodstain pattern analysis, or BPA for short. Specifically, I will examining how impact angle affects the size and shape of a blood spatter. This experiment, but more generally, BPA as a discipline is important to maintain the foundation of the judicial system. This may seem like a bit of an exaggeration, but it isn t. Going into my experiment, I believe that, as the angle of impact decreases, the elongation of a low velocity blood spatter will increase and the spines and satellites of the spatter will become more focused on the side opposite the angle of impact due to the gravitational force acting upon the blood spatter. Therefore, I expect that, if the impact angle is 90°, the blood spatter will be nearly spherical. The closer to zero that the impact angle becomes, the more oval like I will expect the spatter will become (i.e. it will become longer and narrower).
