The Morning Walk By Mary Oliver Essay
In the poem The Morning Walk written by Mary Oliver She writes about how different animals in
different things say thank you. In another poem, There Is No Word For Goodbye written by Mary
Tall Mountain, There is a girl Who asks her grandmother what the word is for goodbye in her
native american language. Through the use of character emotion, Tall Mountain and Oliver both
use vivid description to illustrate sensory imagery. This describes how in depth these writing pieces
will be.
In the poem There are no words for goodbye there is a girl Who asks her grandmother what the
word is for goodbye in her native american language which is called Athabaskan. In the text it
states A shade of feeling rippled the wind tanned skin. Ah, nothing, she said, watching the river
flash. (Tall Mountain 10). This makes the reader suppose or inference that one of the five senses
are being used. Such as in this case the use of the words rippled the wind tanned skin demonstrates
the sense of sight. This quote also shows mood because this is what happened after the character
asks her aunt what the word is for a goodbye which demonstrates her realization of what she is
talkin about (death/ leaving earth). A second thing that shows one of the... Show more content on

In this poem she writes about how different animals say thank you in the world. In the text it
states, A person will sometimes hum a little mahler. Or put arms around an old oak tree. Or take
out a lovely pencil and notebook to find a few touching, kissing words. (Oliver 10). This is clear
that the writer is trying to reach a point about the way I human says thank you to Mother Nature.
This sets a peaceful and happier mood in the reader s mind. In the text it also states The Peewee
whistles instead. The snake turns in circles, the beaver slaps his tail on the surface of the pond.
(Oliver 4) The inference to be drawn from this is that this is all the ways some animals say

Exposing Our Children to Subliminal Messages
President Herbert Hoover once said that, Children are our most valuable resource. Everybody
knows the saying The children are our future. If everyone knows this saying than why are
parents exposing our future to inappropriate and explicit content. This is because most people do
not realize the explicit content their children are being exposed to. The shows, movies, and even
commercials children are watching effect not only their actions and thought process but can also
effect the future decisions and choices they make. From the day we are born to the day we die
we have seen many different movies and seen many different TV shows; while we are watching
and hearing these through our own eyes and ears we do not truly realize what our brains are
consuming, because in reality we are viewing and hearing much more than we can naturally see.
Subliminal messages are prearranged thoughts or ideas placed into the subconscious mind.
Subliminal messages involve reacting to stimuli that are above your physiological threshold but
below your perceptual thresholds. So basically your brain processes the messages without you
knowing. The two main types of subliminal messaging are auditory and visual. In these two
categories there are also subcategories. According to Anthony Pratkanis and Anthony Greenwald,
who are Psychology professors, have defined these four different subcategories as: Subthreshold
stimuli which are presented at energy levels too weak to be detected by the audience.

Public Meeting At The City Of Saskatoon Where I Grew Up
Bruno, Saskatchewan, a small town east of Saskatoon where I grew up, is known for its hay
farms, and cherry festivals. Similar to other small towns, you will find the town office on the
busiest street in town the main street. On February 22, 2016, I attended a public meeting in Bruno
s town office. The public meeting was a town of Bruno regular monthly council meeting. I planned
on staying as long as it took for me to get the information I needed on policy and how the council
made decisions. Within this council meeting, the council freely discussed matters, occasionally
having some order. In addition, there was no form of talking stick, which caused Interruptions and
over talking.
When considering the ideologies of each person at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the decision making process was scattered, shared decision making is what was
happening. On one issue they were all clear, quick and on the same page. On the other issues
discussed they were scattered. There was no one leader of the decision; there were multiple
leaders for a discussion at different times. Therefore, as an observer, this was extremely difficult
to follow along. Bruno council did follow shared decision making and a strategic planning
approach. Even though they used the majority of the steps, the discussion could have been more
formally approached. However, you can take into consideration this council represents a small
population. The support for this approach consists of reform minded policy makers and leaders,
which is hard to come by in a smaller community. These individuals that were sitting at the table are
knowledgeable individuals. However, they do not enable the experiences broader sectors do. Even
though, Bruno council lacks the broader spectrum, they do practice one of the most important
benefits of policy making, shared learning.
The first thing on the agenda was revising the employee code of conduct and conflict of interest
policy. The administrator asked if everyone read the code of conduct and the policy, some of the
council said no. One councillor then asked what the objection to the policy was. The councillor in
charge of the policy clarified. She brought forth words that should be changed. Therefore,

Creep Song Analysis
Song Contrast Essay Songs are very diverse in today s day of age. From the smooth sounds of Jazz,
energizing pop, and disruptive Rock; almost everyone can find their own taste of music. A
popular song from the 1930 s, Creep by Radiohead, recently got a cover in 2015 by a band called
Scott Bradlee s Postmodern Jukebox, which change alternative Rock song to Jazz. But through this
change of genre of the this song, how does the cogitation of the song change? Scott Bradlee s
version of Creep suggests a sad person who is explaining the things wrong with them; meanwhile
the Radiohead s version of Creep suggests a person who is frustrated at the world. This contrast can
be established through the differences in the songs vocals,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The major reason why this causes a dramatic difference between the meaning of the songs is that,
again, it changes the relationship of the singer to the woman they are singing about. In this version
of Creep, this causes the listener to view the song to believe that a heterosexual male singing
about his girl of his dreams instead of the homosexual female singing about her girl of her
dreams like the Bradlee s version of Creep suggests. Another big difference between the two
songs is the instrumentals they have in them. In the Bradlee s version of Creep, the main
instruments in it are a piano, a cello, a trombone and a saxaphone. This is part of a common line
up of Jazz as stated by an article title Zydeco . It states, The most important and traditional
instrument used in performing zydeco (Jazz) is the piano accordion. Other instruments often
included in a zydeco band are the guitar, electric bass, saxophone, drums, and rubboard
(washboard) (Zydeco) From knowing that this is a line up to Jazz that we can assume that this is a
traditional Jazz line for Bradlee s version of the song. With both of them sharing the piano,
saxophone, and other brass instrument, we

Cuban Holidays
This past summer I had the opportunity to travel to a place where the people and food were
amazing, the buildings and artwork outstanding, the weather hot and the politics, well interesting
this was Cuba. Arrival: 48 minutes. That s how long it took for our group of excited students
and chaperones to leave Miami and touch down in a place that has not been legally allowed to host
Americans for over 50 years. As I stepped off the plane my heart pounded, I realized I was in Cuba.
I was ready to explore, but first Customs. Customs: Where is it? I reached in my left and right
pockets only to feel a mint wrapper and a Chick Fil A receipt. I became more frantic. Then it hit
me, my red sports bag and, in the middle pocket, my Visa.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

one were to own a business it would have to be shared and overseen by the government. The
government owns everything, from your house to the food you eat. Lastly, the treatment of the
Cubans, especially those of the darker complexion: Cubans are banned from things that others
were allowed to do. I remember when our group was ready to go scuba diving our tour guide was
banned because she was Cuban. It was not until we bargained with the Scuba instructor was she
finally allowed to come. Also, I remember going into a restaurant with a couple of people on the
trip, when I entered, an employee shooed me away mistaking me for a Cuban. Although, he
apologized, the incident really opened my eyes to what life in Cuba means for everyone. My trip
to Cuba was truly life changing in that it gave me a different perspective on the world and how
different people live. This was truly one of those trips you remember for

The Mexican Revolution Of 1910
The Mexican Revolution of 1910 set many influences in motion shaping the course of Mexican
history between 1920 up into the 2000s. There are several patterns that take its cue from the
Revolution include the creation and long standing existence of a one political party rule. The
Mexican Revolution is an extremely long and complicated subject to perceive without much
background information, but in summation the Revolution was an attempt to end a dictatorship of
Porfirio DГaz and to establish a constitutional republic. Many problems arose during the
Revolution, including several divided groups lead by strong willed individual lovely referred to as
revolutionaries these included Francisco Madero, Pascual Orozco, Pancho Villa, and Emiliano
Zapata. With threatening political crisis among competing Mexican elites and the opportunity for
agrarian insurgence lead to the outbreak of the Revolution. The Revolution would leave lasting
influences such as those on Mexicofar beyond the imagination thought possible. The first pattern
set noticeably in history would the creation and long standing institution of a one party rule over
Mexican government. The first election of a Mexican President after the removal of Porfirio Diaz
was in 1920 with Alvaro Obregon. (CMH, 425) Obregon would face harsh economic trouble
during a post World War I economy. The most important aspect of his presidency would be to
finally implement the constitution that had been written in 1917. Obregon faces a Mexico

To give a bit of an overview, the movie Gran Torino was directed and produced by Clint

many aspects of intercultural communications. Clint Eastwood plays Walt Kowolski whose wife
just died and who is a Korean War veteran. He has a difficult time getting along with people do
not hold the same views or values that he does. He lives in an era that he doesn t understand and
lives close to many Hmong immigrants and in a neighborhood with a lot of violence and gangs.

Thao struggles to develop his identity because he isn t really considered the man of the house yet
and he refuses to join a gang which has become the new role of boys in the Hmong culture living in
the United States.
Throughout the movie we see Walt having problems with the younger generations as well. During
Walt s wife s funeral Walt see s the way his granddaughter is dressed and instantly disapproves
with a grunt of frustration. This is a pop culture reference and it helps us show how Walt is
disconnected with those elements of culture he doesn t agree with and shows us more internal
conflict with Walt.
We also see a pop culture reference with Walt and his son through interpersonal conflict. In a
scene at the funeral, his son Mitch and his family, leave in a hurry. The reason being is that the
car they were driving was made in Japan. Walt did not appreciate this at all. The generation below
him does not consider where the car was made but rather what kind of status the car will give them.
This clearly bothers Walt because to him it is like running away from the battle.
The conclusion was fitting as the meaningful ending to the movie and Walt s life and was one that
our culture don t always seem to appreciate in the real world.

Spanish Dancer Essay
Joan MirГі s Danseuse Espagnole, or Spanish Dancer, is a famous Surrealist painting. The painting
gives an abstract, formless representation of the titular Spanish Dancer and was originally
presented as a part of a set of three Spanish themed paintings by MirГі in l945. Spanish Dancer
shows how deeply MirГі was influenced by his Spanish heritage and shows his dedication to
destroying the way his art was previously perceived by presenting an almost unrecognizable
abstract form of a familiar subject.
Being a Spanish artist, MirГі was often influenced by Spanish culture. In the case of Spanish
Dancer, MirГі drew inspiration from flamenco dancers. The dancer in the painting is shapeless,
representing the high energy of the sensual Spanish dance. Spanish Dancer is an oil on canvas
painting by artist Joan MirГі dated 1945. The painting belongs to the Surrealism style and measures

Surrealism was an intellectual, artistic, and literary movement that lasted from 1924 through the
end of World War II. Surrealism opposed rational thought and placed great significance on the
subconscious mind and dreams. Surrealism included a broad range and variety of art while
exploring psychology in artistic realms by depicting images conjured by the subconscious mind
instead of rational, aesthetic images previously held in high esteem.
Joan MirГі was an artist born on April 20, 1893 in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. MirГі was exposed
to the arts at a young age and is believed to have had interest in the arts since the age of seven.
MirГі s father was a watchmaker and his mother a goldsmith, so MirГі was exposed to his parents
unique craftsmanship from an early age. MirГі was first educated at the School of Industrial and

A Hint of Humor, a Dash of Cinnamon... in the Legal...
In the year 1947, legal conflict arose between Warner Brothers Studio and the Marx Brothers. It
began when the Marx Brothers released the name of one of their upcoming films, A Night in
Casablanca. When Warner Brothers claimed exclusive rights to the name Casablanca, Groucho
Marx sent a letter to Warner Brothers in response. In spite of a few ambiguities, Marx employs a
brilliant and clever combination of humor and logic to effectively refute Warner Brothers s
assertion. Throughout his letter, Marx uses his ever present wit to dissolve any actual or imagined
hostility in his addressee. For example, in one section, he says I am sure that the average movie fan
could learn tin time to distinguish between Ingrid Birdman [the female star of... Show more content

Marx s argument here simply makes sense. Rather than befuddling legal jargon, he shows that the
idea of owning Casablanca is absurd in the same way that owning the word brothers is absurd. His
logic pierces through any uncertainty and effectively explains his point. He later arrives at the
conclusion that this attempt to prevent us from using the title is the brainchild of some ferret faced
shyster, serving a brief apprenticeship in your legal department (Marx 2). Marx sees this inference
as valid, logical reason for Warner Brothers s interference. As such, he attempts to show the
irrationality of any hindrance to the Marx Brothers planned film title. While Groucho Marx does
have a number of potent and valid arguments, some poorly planned passages slightly diminish
the overall effectiveness of his letter. A recurring issue, Marx s tendency for rambling distracts
the reader from his main goal. His references to Burbank Studio, Old Man Burbank, and Harry
Appelbaum seem to have no pertinence to the intended subject. However, these are not major
issues and can be ignored in order to find Marx s true purpose. Even more powerful than either
comedy or logic alone are instances in which both of these elements are used together in harmony
with each other. To start off his letter, Marx makes this comment: Apparently, there is more than
one way of conquering a city and holding it as your own. For example, up to the

Psychological distress with direct to consumer genetic testing: a case report of an unexpected
BRCA positive test result. Journal of Genetic Counseling. 2012;21(3):399 401. doi:10.1007
/s10897 011 9475 5. This case study reports a client who underwent elective direct to consumer
(DTC) genetic testing in the absence of genetic counseling and discovered she had a BRCA
mutation. The DTC she took was a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) microarray analysis
advertised online. It was found that she had high levels of anxiety, distress and a lack of
knowledge of what the DTC test outlined. The client admitted not being mentally prepared for the
information she received. Genetic counseling helped lower her anxiety levels and eventually left
her feeling empowered. The outcome of this case study supports that significant distress may be
caused by DTC tests. Pre and post genetic counseling in conjunction with DTC may eradicate most
of this stress.
Article Type: Case study
Comments: This case study highlights a main problem with DTC tests. The client went through
amplified stress, which could have been avoided by genetic counseling. Interestingly,

Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Personality
One of Sigmund Freud s greatest contributions to the field of Psychology was his theory of
personality. Considering this, Freud based his theory that a human s behavior is the interaction
of three components of the mind: the id, ego, and superego. The id is the utmost primitive; it
develops first to cater the needs of the person, and it is also a component of the unconscious
mind. The ego is the decision making component of the personality. Furthermore, it is the most
reasonable, taking to account, it operates on the principle of reality trying to satisfy its needs.
Lastly, the superego. The superego is the segment that reflects the rules taught by parents or
guardians. It is the conscious, knowing the difference between right and wrong, also, striving
for perfection. His theory of personality, I believe, is the basis of modern day Psychology; with,
of course, the aspect of thinking differently from his predecessors. His idea outlined a plethora
of advanced ideas known today in the modern world, even though a vast majority of his theories
are out of date and considered incorrect by an abounding amount of present day psychologists.
There is no proof of the id, ego, or superego; with this in mind, it is inadequate to genuinely value
his theories in psychology today considering all of the proof against them. I personally don t
believe this theory because it s like saying that all people are the same and want the same things,
and have the same desires. However, that is

A Dream Deferred
The poetry of Langston Hughes, the poet laureate of Harlem, is an effective commentary on the
condition of blacks in America during the 20th Century. Hughes places particular emphasis on
Harlem, a black area in New York that became a destination of many hopeful blacks in the first half
of the 1900Гs. In much of Hughes poetry, a theme that runs throughout is that of a dream
deferred. The recurrence of a dream deferred in several Hughes poems paints a clear picture of
the disappointment and dismay that blacks in America faced in Harlem. Furthermore, as each
poem develops, so does the feeling behind a dream deferred, growing more serious and even angry
with each new stanza. br br To understand Hughes idea of the dream deferred, one... Show more

The poem changes moods with the lines I ve seen them come dark/ out of Penn Station / but the
trains are late. / The gates are open / Yet there re bars / at each gate. The people have not found
what they expected and hoped for in Harlem. These last lines help the reader to understand the
feelings that accompanied the harsh reality of Harlem. The addition of the blunt question, What
happens / to a dream deferred? maintains this understanding: this is the dream deferred, and this
is what the people were experiencing. The question is harsh and unyielding, and its position in
the poem creates a feeling of seriousness. Another Hughes poem, Same in Blues, attempts to
establish further the idea of a dream deferred, incorporating a type of dialogue between
characters to explain the components of a dream deferred, adding an element of anger to the end.
The first stanza has a woman telling her man that she has to keep moving, followed by the lines,
There s a certain / amount of traveling / in a dream deferred. This method continues through four
stanzas, where peopl converse, and a new component is introduced: a certain amount of nothing, a
certain amount of impotence. The last component the poem introduces is the most effective: There
s liable / to be confusion / in a dream deferred. The poem continues to say that there s liable to be
confusion / when a dream

Mark and Todd should consider the monthly payment and the ability of the company to repay the
loan. If S S Air can afford to pay a higher payment, they can pay down the principal faster.
Assuming the bank will not charge a fee for an early payoff; S S could save money and avoid the
risk associated with the balloon payment option or interest only loan. By taking the 20 year loan
option and making additional principal payments to decrease the interest owed, S S could pay off a
20 year loan in 158 months. The following table illustrates the option presented above:
If Mark and Todd choose this option, they could budget accordingly each month. If they are
struggling they could forgo the additional principal payment during any given month. By choosing
this option, S S Air could save money and have flexibility in the mortgage payments. References

Bill Vilona, of the Pensacola News Journal wrote, All of us in the equity conferences believe the
BCS has worked; it has done what it s supposed to do. It s not perfect, but I don t think anything is
perfect. The Bowl Championship Series should be changed to a playoff system. The BCS does a
great job of utilizing all the statistics and polls to establish the top twenty five teams in the nation.
On the other hand the top two teams are the ones who attend the national championship and that
is where the BCS system is unfair. For Example, Alex Giles wrote in his Article The Proposed
Marriage of the BCS and a Playoff Format , In 2000, the BCS ranked Oklahoma Jerzy 6
#1 and Florida State #2 at seasons end, despite the fact that Miami was ranked #2 in the both the
AP and the coaches poll and had beaten the Seminoles (Florida State) during the regular season.
Ranking problems like that one that happened in 2000 are why the BCS system should modify to a
playoff system. The BCS is a somewhat confusing and often controversial system (Vilona). The top
twenty five teams in Division I football battle each and every week for a better spot in the
rankings. Most of the time it comes down to the last week of season play to determine which two
teams will progress into the national championship game. The top teams should be given an
opportunity to earn their way into the championship

Fig. 5.18 Company Designs the policy from the customer point of view
It is evident from the table that the External Customer, the majority of the respondents (90%) say
that the private sector companies design the policies in customer point of view, that means the
policies have flexibility and can customize as per the individual customers need as they have
come out with a new concept called RIDERS . There is a small percentage of the respondents
(4%) who are still not satisfied with the present trends of private sector companies for their
customized policies as they fell still more to be done in that area.
Whereas the data reveals that almost little more to half of the respondents are (57%) saying that
the public sector companies are not designing the policies in the customer point of view, means,
they did not come out with customized policies till date even after their presence in the market for

Vocal Fry Research Paper
The terms vocal fry and up talk are two ways to describe some teenagers talk now. Vocal fry
means when one talks like they are choking or out of breath. This frequently happens at the end
of a sentence. The definition of up talk is when one says a sentence with a question in there or
answering a question with a question. When one talks about up talk, some people automatically
think about teenager girls. People thinks it is annoying and do not understand why these girls talk
in this way. However, teen girls are actually not the only group of people who talk in that way. Up
talk is something most people do, and it is almost like a nature that humans have. The cause of
people using up talk is when people are not sure what they are talking about,

Real Science Project
The first day of science was highly enjoyable, I was so excited that we finally get to do some real
science projects. In elementary school, we had not worked on science very much. One of my
favorite projects that we have done so far was the cup activity where there was a rubber band
and eight strings were tied to the rubber band. We each took one piece of the string and we were
instructed to work together to try and transfer the rubber band onto the cups, to make a tower.
That activity was highly amusing because it taught us how to work together. When Mrs. Cotter
realized that we could not work together very well, she gave us another activity to do. She
assigned us partners and she gave each pair of partners one piece of string. The pairs of partners
were assigned to tie the string around themselves once, then she told us to untie it without letting go
of each other s hand. That project was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My class and I continued to do more great activities. One of them was that we were given the
privilege to measure each other and record the results down on a piece of paper. Later on, after
everyone was done measuring, we took out our chromebooks and started transferring the results
to the chromebook. At last, after everyone was done typing the results of the measuring project,
we started something new that we are currently working on. Our class is going on a space trip to
another planet, and our class has to come up with a list of survival items we need, to live in space
for two years. I enjoy doing this project very much, and I have always liked working together on a
project and making lists also based on everyone else s ideas. In general, all the activities we have
worked on in science class this year have been extremely fun. Science class has been by far one of
my favorite classes, I enjoy science and Mrs. Cotter s humor. I certainly hope that we will be able
to do more fun project and experiments in the school year with Mrs.

Difference Between Guilbert And Ivanhoe
1.Ivanhoe is chivalrous, where Brian de Bois Guilbert is far from it. Ivanhoe treats women
right, like human beings not things. Brian de Bois Guilbert treats women like they are just
things, like a cat enjoys playing with a toy, when you are done playing with it you throw it away.
Brian de Bois Guilbert is a templar, but he is far from being a saint.* Brian de Bois Guilbert tries to
get Rebecca to be his wife, but kidnapping your perhaps future wife is not going to make her like
you. He tries to get Rebecca to kiss him, but Rebecca true to her faith, practically told him If I

Forensics Examiner and Digital Evidence in Nigeria
ADMISSIBILITY OF THE OPINION OF A COMPUTER FORENSICS EXAMINER AS AN
EXPERT EVIDENCE UNDER NIGERIAN LAW OF EVIDENCE By
Philip O Nwachukwu
As a general rule under Nigerian law of Evidence, the opinion evidence is irrelevant in court
trials. Thus section 66 of the Evidence Act CAP E14, Laws of the. Federation of Nigeria (LFN),
2004 provides that the fact that any person is of the opinion that a fact in issue, or relevant to the
issue, does or does not exist, is irrelevant to the existence of such fact except as provided in
sections 57 to 65 of the Evidence Act. Exceptions to this general rule are contained in sections 57
to 65 of the Evidence Act, which make opinion of experts and non experts relevant with regard to

It is important to note that it is principally the duty of the court to determine who is an expert, ie,
whether a person is sufficiently skilled to give expert evidence. (see the case of R v. Onitiri (1946)
12 WACA 58 at 59); see also section 186 of the Evidence Act). The court is assisted in discharging
this duty by the expert witness stating his qualification and experience before leading evidence.
See the case of Azu v. The State (1993) 6 NWLR (Pt. 299) page 303. It should also be noted that
the skill required for this purpose is not necessarily acquired by academic qualification or
training; it may also be by experience (Shell Petroleum Development Co. (Nig) Ltd. V. Tiebo
(1996), 4 NWLR (pt. 445) P. 657). Although the court will normally accept an un contradicted
expert evidence ( Siesmograph Service (Nig) Ltd V. Apkororo (1974) 6 SC 119), it will not be
bound to do so where such opinion conflicts with common sense (Okoh v. The State. (1971)
NMLR 140) or where the expert fails to state the basis of his opinion (Idudhe v. Eseh (1996) 5
NWLR (Pt. 451) P. 750). The correct test of the relevance of the witness`s opinion as that of an
expert is whether he is specially skilled on the particular field in question (Siesmograph Service

Fybrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva
History In the year of 1958 Jeannie Peeper was born. The mother noticed that Jeannie had short,
crooked toes and was concerned. The doctor didn t think anything of it and he put braces on her
toes and sent them home. When Jeannie s mother saw red lumps appearing on her back and
head she became anxious. She also noticed that Jeannie s jaw wouldn t open as widely as her other
childrens did when they were her age. Because of this she took Jeannie back the doctor and at the
age of four where she was diagnosed with fibrodyplasia ossificans progressiva (Carl Zimmer,
2013). Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressivais a rare and incapacitating condition of skeletal
malformations and progressive heterotopic ossification. It was originally called myositis
ossificans progressive (MOP) and was discovered by a French physician, Guy Patin, who came
across a patient who had FOP. He described the patient to have swellings in his back (History of
FOP, 2009). They changed it from MOP to FOP because other fibrous tissues
in addition to muscle
are replaced by bone. FOP causes excessive bone growth and begins in the early stages of life.
How Is It Acquired?
Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva is obtained by a mutation on the ACVR1 gene which occurs
on chromosome 2. It is autosomal dominant disorder which means it only takes one parent to pass
the trait on. In most cases it s a random occurrence due to mutations during the development of the
sperm, egg, or embryo. Another reason it

Autism. Tucker is a little boy who was born and raised in Preston County, West Virginia and is
attending the Preschool offered at Bruceton Elementary for half a day. He is an only child who
speaks only English, both Tucker s parents are local and have been part of the Bruceton
communities for years. I observed Tucker from 7:30 in the morning till his lunch at 11:30 while he
participated in multiple activities showing off his development in all 5 major areas.

spot on the rug. Throughout the day I observed Tucker demonstrating the milestone for children
ages 2 3 such as running forward, jumping with both feet, and walking on his tip toes. Tucker also
demonstrated some 3 4 year milestone while playing, he showed me that he could push cars

The Diagnostic Criteria For Smartphone Addiction
The diagnostic criteria for smartphone addiction proposed in this study were based on the
population with the currently largest sample size and the diagnoses were validated by psychiatric
interviews. Our findings indicated that smartphone addiction has overlapping features with
substance related or behavioral addictive disorders, but the unique properties of smartphones, i.e. its
excellent accessibility and multiple Internet based applications, contributed to its unique but
prevalent addictive behaviors.
We proposed that a strict definition for smartphone related functional impairment, requiring two or
more functional impairment criteria influenced by smartphone use. This definition is different from
the diagnostic criteria for functional impairment in DSM 5. Compared to computer based Internet
addiction, the portability of smartphones dampens the severity of functional impairment associated
with smartphone addiction, but instead influences multiple domains of an individual s daily life. In
addition, because smartphone addiction is a heterogeneous and multi faceted condition [26], we
should evaluate the heterogeneity of its functional impairment from different angles.
The symptom criteria in this study provided evidence that smartphone addiction has similar
psychopathology with the traditional substance use disorders. The core symptoms of substance use
disorders are impaired control , which consist of four criteria: (1) use larger amounts/longer, (2)
repeated attempts to

Humanitarian Intervention Vs Humanitarian Intervention
Humanitarian intervention has been widely debated over the last couple of decades, causing
arguments to rise of what constitutes humanitarian intervention and if the Responsibility to Protect
doctrine has become to politicized to be reliable. These accounts are backed up on how
interventions are being implemented through out the world in various intrastate and international
conflicts. Humanitarian intervention and R2P have produced debates on the morality, legality, and
operational credibility the organizations now retain. Along with these debates, concerns of NATO
and the Security Council s actions bring to light the concern if humanitarian intervention can be
relied on in effort of peace. These questions facilitate concern and instability throughout the world,
and breeds inability for peace efforts to be conducted. As such, humanitarian intervention is a
crucial effort towards peace; it subsequently undermines the issues surrounding sovereignty and the
idea that sovereignty is the utmost importance to a state s livelihood. For humanitarian intervention
and R2P to succeed, a reform needs to be implemented within the system; sovereignty should not be
held authoritatively and states should be held accountable for their actions; regardless of their allies
influential opinions. Humanitarian efforts are based on the four principles: humanity, impartiality,
neutrality, and independence; The one thing these principles all have in common are that they
come unbiased. Yet,

The tedious hours on the plane ended as I walked to the bus, which drove the passengers to the

Goodness me, isn t Australia big? With one hand on my hip, the other shading my vision, I

or so I thought. I could see a patch of pink in the distance, amongst all the dry land. Nowadays

Evolution Of Country Music
When looking at country music from the early 20th century, to what it is today there has been some
change but most of the concepts have stayed the same. Much of the country from the early times
had music about religion, or hardships that were being faced. This is the same as in the present,
there are many songs about turning to religion to find hope. There are also the instruments that are
used, the bajo, and other stereotypical country instruments are still used to today. This sound that
they have, and that these instruments make are what really categorize the musicas country. The
sound of country has been modified but the underlying sounds have stayed the same, and the
messages that are being sung about have been consistent throughout time. This shows that country

modern pop sound that we have all cone accustomed to listening to. There also seems to be more
female country singers now then what was being portrayed in the readings and the videos, this also
changing the sounds of the music because there are more feminine songs. The hardships that are

Evolution Of Public Administration Approaches
Evolution of Public Administration Approaches
The roots of public administration can be traced back to 400 B.C. when Plato developed the
concept of democracy, but more recently, economist Fredric W. Taylor in early 1900s developed
the need for budgets, cooperation between labor and management in order to become more
effective (Gueguen, 2002). His concepts of scientific management, also known as Taylorism,
promoted job optimization and simplification in order to increase productivity. These scientific
management principles were further explored by German sociologist, philosopher, political
economist Max Weber. Weber advocated various concepts such as the development of standardized

Other than hierarchy and meritocracy (Robinson, 2015), the old public administration had many
unique features. Those features included a centralized control with set rules and guidelines,
separating policymaking from implementation, and employed a categorized organizational
arrangement (Osborne, 2006). Few other central features of this model were, the separation
between politics and politicians on one hand and administration and administrators on the other,
resources belong to the organization, not to the individuals who work in it and limited public
involvement with administrators responsible to democratically elected political leaders (Denhardt
Denhardt, 2015).
Old public administration played an important role in managing budgets and human resources in
an organization by targeting efficiency and effectiveness. These goals were achieved by first
defining specialized roles within organizations. These roles were then filled by qualified people
who were recruited based on merits. People were hired only if they meet all the required
qualifications for the job. The dominance of old public administration theory is still visible in
today s recruitment and hiring process. Whenever a new job opening is posted on Alameda
County s website, there is always a section specifying a list of qualifications. Applicants must meet
those qualifications in order to qualify for the interview. Every role in the organization was clearly

A Poetic Analysis Of Loose Lips By Kimya Dawson
My main focus of my blog entries have focused around generational disconnect and music.
Before I move any further, though, I feel that I must define generational disconnect as it is a
blanket term and can mean a variety of things depending on the context. The definition I will use
is: being unable to relate to the two current generations and the inability to work together to
solve problems. The song I chose to analyze is Loose Lips by Kimya Dawson. I think this song
really connects with how lost the millennial generation feels, as if we are hanging on by a frayed
cord. Right now we are on the cusp of adult hood. In fact, the older millennial are facing it now.
Often, I think, millennials feel as though baby boomers expect us to be adults but... Show more

That is a byproduct of my personality, my family environment, and my generation. As a
millennial, and I am proud to call myself one, I can recognize that we are a stubborn bunch. We
want to fix the problems in our country, but we want it our way or the high way. I don t know
how many times, on the Internet, people have been celebrating a break through and people
attack them because they should not be celebrating with so much hate existing in the world. For
example, when the marriage equality decision was finalized, people were celebrating. Then
other millenials would cyber attack them because the LGBTQA community is still facing
oppression and we cant celebrate until it is all eradicated. As Dawson writes my war paint is
sharpie ink, and I ll show you how much my shit stink, and I think that is a very powerful line.
For one, it helps exemplify how millenials cannot ever be happy in the moment, but it also shows
a generational shift. People have always protested what they disapproved of, but in today s day
and age, we can do that instantly with the click of a button. We connect over social media. Call me

A Thousand Acres as Movie is Melodramatic and Bogus Essay
A Thousand Acres as Movie is Melodramatic and Bogus
Perhaps Jane Smiley s Pulitzer Prize winning novel A Thousand Acres was a bit over rated. For
one thing, the book s dark secret seemed utterly implausible. I just didn t believe that the book s
protagonist and narrator, a 37 year old Iowa farm wife named Ginny, could have completely
repressed the fact that her father had sex with her when she was 15 years old, night after night, for
a year. For True Believers in Repressed Memory Syndrome, this might sound like gospel: I found it
melodramatic and bogus. Furthermore, the sensitive unto death narrative voice was dissonant and

Above all, they play it too safe. Perhaps if they had added new material, approached Smiley s story
from different directions, they could have made a film that would have been truer to the spirit, if
not the letter, of her book. Ploddingly literal, A ThousandAcres is basically a star vehicle that relies
on superior acting to redeem it. It does have superior acting, but that s not nearly enough.
The story involves a tyrannical old patriarch, Larry Cook (Jason Robards, whose skills are not
really utilized), who, apparently forgetting the unpleasant fate that befell Lear, decides to give
his farm away to his three daughters Ginny (Jessica Lange), Rose (Michelle Pfeiffer) and
Caroline (Jennifer Jason Leigh). Larry Lear; Ginny Goneril; Rose Regan; Caroline Cordelia.

being hounded to madness and despair by evil children, this patriarch is the evil one, a rigid,
remorseless old man who, we learn, seduced not just Ginny but Rose, too. And he doesn t need to
be driven to madness: He goes pretty much off the deep end, for reasons that are never explained,
right after he gives away his property.

Character Analysis Of The Pit And The Pendulum
The Pit and the Pendulum Character Analysis Essay Edgar Allen Poe s The Pit and the Pendulum
uses horror and suspicion to build up not only the storyline, but the persona of the narrator in
which is also the prisoner. The characteristics of the prisoner ties within the story to create trippy
feelings of fearand unassertiveness of whether or not he is truly safe. From the trials that the
prisoner has faced, his characteristic of resourcefulness, pessimistic, and terror are revealed and
play a salient part of his slick escape. The prisoner exemplifies resourcefulness which is shown
through his actions of survival. Despite his unstableness, he still manages to remain clever in
such a frightening situation. Poe asserts that the prisoner is resourceful considering he uses the
hem of his robe to plot out his area: I tore a part of the hem from the robe, and placed the
fragment at full length, and at right angles to the wall. In groping my way around the prison, I
could not fail to encounter this rag upon completing the circuit. (Poe 3). Being that he uses his
resources to find his way around the tomb, he learns that he is among a treacherous pit which
could mean death. This action alters the whole course of the story due to the possibility of the
prisoner falling into the pit. The prisoner continues to show signs of resourcefulness in the
toughest situations: Observing that I remained without motion, one or two of the boldest leaped
upon the frame work and smelt at the surcingle. This seemed the signal for a general rush. Forth
from the well they hurried in fresh troops. They clung to the wood, they overran it, and leaped in
hundreds upon my person. (Poe 8). Using the rats as a pathway to his freedom from the pendulum,
his quick thinking saved his life. With that being said, the prisoner uses his traits of resourcefulness
to escape without letting fear block his tactics. Poe reveals the prisoners aspect of showing
pessimistic traits through his thoughts of seeing the worst outcome of events. The prisoner states,
It was not that I feared to look upon things horrible, but that I grew aghast lest there should be

Iris Oh is a 19 year old college woman who lately has not been well and her parents are worried
about her. Iris was born in Seoul, South Korea and when she was 4 months old, she and her
parents with her two brothers decided to move to Los Angeles, California. Growing up people

Describe The Economic And Social Changes In Succession...
From 1850 to 1930 Sweden lived deep changes, but all social improvements occurred with
different political situation that came in succession during the years. In 1867 the old liberals
founded the Ministerial Party with the objective to defend the reforms. A little group of people
created the Neoliberal Party that proposed both economic freedom and more cultural and political
freedoms (such as more rights for women and an increasing democracy). In any event the

Covert Operations During World War II
The United States has had a long and complicated journey with intelligence. Throughout its early
history, the United States had a sporadic relationship with the intelligence community, only utilizing
intelligence during wartime. After World War II, it became clear that the United States needed to
enhance its intelligence gathering systems in order to prevent another disaster of this magnitude.
Reacting to this pressure, policymakers soon drafted and passed the National Intelligence Act of
1947, creating the Central Intelligence Agency(CIA), the United States first peacetime intelligence
agency. Though not always entirely authorized to do so, the CIA has carried out many covert
operations with varying levels of success. Despite the fact that some of these operations have been a
success, covert operations have largely been a detriment to the United States; covert operations hurt
the United States public image, rarely fix the original problem entirely, and were not meant, by
those who drafter the National Intelligence Act of 1947, to be carried out by the CIA. Founded
under the National Intelligence Act, the CIA is authorized to act as follows: coordinating the nation
s intelligence activities and correlating, evaluating and disseminating intelligence affecting national
security (History). The National Security Act remained vague enough on the legality of CIA actions
that the CIA was able to use one sentence from the National Security Act to justify covert
operations.

In another poem, There Is No Word For Goodbye written by Mary Tall Mountain, There is a girl Who asks her grandmother what the word is for goodbye in her native american language. Through the use of character emotion, Tall Mountain and Oliver both use vivid description to illustrate sensory imagery. This describes how in depth these writing pieces will be. In the poem There are no words for goodbye there is a girl Who asks her grandmother what the word is for goodbye in her native american language which is called Athabaskan. In the text it states A shade of feeling rippled the wind tanned skin. Ah, nothing, she said, watching the river flash. (Tall Mountain 10). This makes the reader suppose or inference that one of the five senses are being used. Such as in this case the use of the words rippled the wind tanned skin demonstrates the sense of sight. This quote also shows mood because this is what happened after the character asks her aunt what the word is for a goodbye which demonstrates her realization of what she is talkin about (death/ leaving earth). A second thing that shows one of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this poem she writes about how different animals say thank you in the world. In the text it states, A person will sometimes hum a little mahler. Or put arms around an old oak tree. Or take out a lovely pencil and notebook to find a few touching, kissing words. (Oliver 10). • 3. Exposing Our Children to Subliminal Messages President Herbert Hoover once said that, Children are our most valuable resource. Everybody knows the saying The children are our future. If everyone knows this saying than why are parents exposing our future to inappropriate and explicit content. This is because most people do not realize the explicit content their children are being exposed to. The shows, movies, and even commercials children are watching effect not only their actions and thought process but can also effect the future decisions and choices they make. From the day we are born to the day we die we have seen many different movies and seen many different TV shows; while we are watching and hearing these through our own eyes and ears we do not truly realize what our brains are consuming, because in reality we are viewing and hearing much more than we can naturally see. Subliminal messages are prearranged thoughts or ideas placed into the subconscious mind. Subliminal messages involve reacting to stimuli that are above your physiological threshold but below your perceptual thresholds. So basically your brain processes the messages without you knowing. The two main types of subliminal messaging are auditory and visual. In these two categories there are also subcategories. According to Anthony Pratkanis and Anthony Greenwald, who are Psychology professors, have defined these four different subcategories as: Subthreshold stimuli which are presented at energy levels too weak to be detected by the audience. ... There was no one leader of the decision; there were multiple leaders for a discussion at different times. Therefore, as an observer, this was extremely difficult to follow along. Bruno council did follow shared decision making and a strategic planning approach. Even though they used the majority of the steps, the discussion could have been more formally approached. However, you can take into consideration this council represents a small population. The support for this approach consists of reform minded policy makers and leaders, which is hard to come by in a smaller community. These individuals that were sitting at the table are knowledgeable individuals. However, they do not enable the experiences broader sectors do. Even though, Bruno council lacks the broader spectrum, they do practice one of the most important benefits of policy making, shared learning. The first thing on the agenda was revising the employee code of conduct and conflict of interest policy. From the smooth sounds of Jazz, energizing pop, and disruptive Rock; almost everyone can find their own taste of music. A popular song from the 1930 s, Creep by Radiohead, recently got a cover in 2015 by a band called Scott Bradlee s Postmodern Jukebox, which change alternative Rock song to Jazz. But through this change of genre of the this song, how does the cogitation of the song change? The major reason why this causes a dramatic difference between the meaning of the songs is that, again, it changes the relationship of the singer to the woman they are singing about. In this version of Creep, this causes the listener to view the song to believe that a heterosexual male singing about his girl of his dreams instead of the homosexual female singing about her girl of her dreams like the Bradlee s version of Creep suggests. Another big difference between the two songs is the instrumentals they have in them. In the Bradlee s version of Creep, the main instruments in it are a piano, a cello, a trombone and a saxaphone. This is part of a common line up of Jazz as stated by an article title Zydeco . It states, The most important and traditional instrument used in performing zydeco (Jazz) is the piano accordion. Other instruments often included in a zydeco band are the guitar, electric bass, saxophone, drums, and rubboard (washboard) (Zydeco) From knowing that this is a line up to Jazz that we can assume that this is a traditional Jazz line for Bradlee s version of the song. It began when the Marx Brothers released the name of one of their upcoming films, A Night in Casablanca. When Warner Brothers claimed exclusive rights to the name Casablanca, Groucho Marx sent a letter to Warner Brothers in response. In spite of a few ambiguities, Marx employs a brilliant and clever combination of humor and logic to effectively refute Warner Brothers s assertion. Throughout his letter, Marx uses his ever present wit to dissolve any actual or imagined hostility in his addressee. For example, in one section, he says I am sure that the average movie fan could learn tin time to distinguish between Ingrid Birdman [the female star of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Marx s argument here simply makes sense. Rather than befuddling legal jargon, he shows that the idea of owning Casablanca is absurd in the same way that owning the word brothers is absurd. His logic pierces through any uncertainty and effectively explains his point. He later arrives at the conclusion that this attempt to prevent us from using the title is the brainchild of some ferret faced shyster, serving a brief apprenticeship in your legal department (Marx 2). Marx sees this inference as valid, logical reason for Warner Brothers s interference. As such, he attempts to show the irrationality of any hindrance to the Marx Brothers planned film title. While Groucho Marx does have a number of potent and valid arguments, some poorly planned passages slightly diminish the overall effectiveness of his letter. A recurring issue, Marx s tendency for rambling distracts the reader from his main goal. His references to Burbank Studio, Old Man Burbank, and Harry Appelbaum seem to have no pertinence to the intended subject. However, these are not major issues and can be ignored in order to find Marx s true purpose. Even more powerful than either comedy or logic alone are instances in which both of these elements are used together in harmony with each other. To start off his letter, Marx makes this comment: Apparently, there is more than one way of conquering a city and holding it as your own. For example, up to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Considering this, Freud based his theory that a human s behavior is the interaction of three components of the mind: the id, ego, and superego. The id is the utmost primitive; it develops first to cater the needs of the person, and it is also a component of the unconscious mind. The ego is the decision making component of the personality. Furthermore, it is the most reasonable, taking to account, it operates on the principle of reality trying to satisfy its needs. Lastly, the superego. The superego is the segment that reflects the rules taught by parents or guardians. It is the conscious, knowing the difference between right and wrong, also, striving for perfection. His theory of personality, I believe, is the basis of modern day Psychology; with, of course, the aspect of thinking differently from his predecessors. His idea outlined a plethora of advanced ideas known today in the modern world, even though a vast majority of his theories are out of date and considered incorrect by an abounding amount of present day psychologists. There is no proof of the id, ego, or superego; with this in mind, it is inadequate to genuinely value his theories in psychology today considering all of the proof against them. Hughes places particular emphasis on Harlem, a black area in New York that became a destination of many hopeful blacks in the first half of the 1900Гs. In much of Hughes poetry, a theme that runs throughout is that of a dream deferred. The recurrence of a dream deferred in several Hughes poems paints a clear picture of the disappointment and dismay that blacks in America faced in Harlem. The doctor didn t think anything of it and he put braces on her toes and sent them home. When Jeannie s mother saw red lumps appearing on her back and head she became anxious. She also noticed that Jeannie s jaw wouldn t open as widely as her other childrens did when they were her age. Because of this she took Jeannie back the doctor and at the age of four where she was diagnosed with fibrodyplasia ossificans progressiva (Carl Zimmer, 2013). Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressivais a rare and incapacitating condition of skeletal malformations and progressive heterotopic ossification. It was originally called myositis ossificans progressive (MOP) and was discovered by a French physician, Guy Patin, who came across a patient who had FOP. He described the patient to have swellings in his back (History of FOP, 2009). They changed it from MOP to FOP because other fibrous tissues in addition to muscle are replaced by bone. FOP causes excessive bone growth and begins in the early stages of life. How Is It Acquired? Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva is obtained by a mutation on the ACVR1 gene which occurs on chromosome 2. The Diagnostic Criteria For Smartphone Addiction The diagnostic criteria for smartphone addiction proposed in this study were based on the population with the currently largest sample size and the diagnoses were validated by psychiatric interviews. Our findings indicated that smartphone addiction has overlapping features with substance related or behavioral addictive disorders, but the unique properties of smartphones, i.e. its excellent accessibility and multiple Internet based applications, contributed to its unique but prevalent addictive behaviors. We proposed that a strict definition for smartphone related functional impairment, requiring two or more functional impairment criteria influenced by smartphone use. This definition is different from the diagnostic criteria for functional impairment in DSM 5. Compared to computer based Internet addiction, the portability of smartphones dampens the severity of functional impairment associated with smartphone addiction, but instead influences multiple domains of an individual s daily life. In addition, because smartphone addiction is a heterogeneous and multi faceted condition [26], we should evaluate the heterogeneity of its functional impairment from different angles. The symptom criteria in this study provided evidence that smartphone addiction has similar psychopathology with the traditional substance use disorders. The core symptoms of substance use disorders are impaired control , which consist of four criteria: (1) use larger amounts/longer, (2) repeated attempts to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Humanitarian Intervention Vs Humanitarian Intervention Humanitarian intervention has been widely debated over the last couple of decades, causing arguments to rise of what constitutes humanitarian intervention and if the Responsibility to Protect doctrine has become to politicized to be reliable. These accounts are backed up on how interventions are being implemented through out the world in various intrastate and international conflicts. Humanitarian intervention and R2P have produced debates on the morality, legality, and operational credibility the organizations now retain. Along with these debates, concerns of NATO and the Security Council s actions bring to light the concern if humanitarian intervention can be relied on in effort of peace. These questions facilitate concern and instability throughout the world, and breeds inability for peace efforts to be conducted. As such, humanitarian intervention is a crucial effort towards peace; it subsequently undermines the issues surrounding sovereignty and the idea that sovereignty is the utmost importance to a state s livelihood. For humanitarian intervention and R2P to succeed, a reform needs to be implemented within the system; sovereignty should not be held authoritatively and states should be held accountable for their actions; regardless of their allies influential opinions. Few other central features of this model were, the separation between politics and politicians on one hand and administration and administrators on the other, resources belong to the organization, not to the individuals who work in it and limited public involvement with administrators responsible to democratically elected political leaders (Denhardt Denhardt, 2015). Character Analysis Of The Pit And The Pendulum The Pit and the Pendulum Character Analysis Essay Edgar Allen Poe s The Pit and the Pendulum uses horror and suspicion to build up not only the storyline, but the persona of the narrator in which is also the prisoner. The characteristics of the prisoner ties within the story to create trippy feelings of fearand unassertiveness of whether or not he is truly safe. From the trials that the prisoner has faced, his characteristic of resourcefulness, pessimistic, and terror are revealed and play a salient part of his slick escape. The prisoner exemplifies resourcefulness which is shown through his actions of survival. Despite his unstableness, he still manages to remain clever in such a frightening situation. Poe asserts that the prisoner is resourceful considering he uses the hem of his robe to plot out his area: I tore a part of the hem from the robe, and placed the fragment at full length, and at right angles to the wall. In groping my way around the prison, I could not fail to encounter this rag upon completing the circuit. (Poe 3). Being that he uses his resources to find his way around the tomb, he learns that he is among a treacherous pit which could mean death. This action alters the whole course of the story due to the possibility of the prisoner falling into the pit. The prisoner continues to show signs of resourcefulness in the toughest situations: Observing that I remained without motion, one or two of the boldest leaped upon the frame work and smelt at the surcingle. This seemed the signal for a general rush. Forth from the well they hurried in fresh troops. They clung to the wood, they overran it, and leaped in hundreds upon my person. (Poe 8). Using the rats as a pathway to his freedom from the pendulum, his quick thinking saved his life. With that being said, the prisoner uses his traits of resourcefulness to escape without letting fear block his tactics. Poe reveals the prisoners aspect of showing pessimistic traits through his thoughts of seeing the worst outcome of events. • 43. Covert Operations During World War II The United States has had a long and complicated journey with intelligence. Throughout its early history, the United States had a sporadic relationship with the intelligence community, only utilizing intelligence during wartime. After World War II, it became clear that the United States needed to enhance its intelligence gathering systems in order to prevent another disaster of this magnitude. Reacting to this pressure, policymakers soon drafted and passed the National Intelligence Act of 1947, creating the Central Intelligence Agency(CIA), the United States first peacetime intelligence agency. Though not always entirely authorized to do so, the CIA has carried out many covert operations with varying levels of success. Despite the fact that some of these operations have been a success, covert operations have largely been a detriment to the United States; covert operations hurt the United States public image, rarely fix the original problem entirely, and were not meant, by those who drafter the National Intelligence Act of 1947, to be carried out by the CIA. Founded under the National Intelligence Act, the CIA is authorized to act as follows: coordinating the nation s intelligence activities and correlating, evaluating and disseminating intelligence affecting national security (History).
