The Positive Relationship Between Violence And Violence In...
Fighting in hockey is often a polarizing topic. Hockey is a unique game, in which fights extract a loud
ovation from the spectators. Fans attend for a variety of reasons. Attendance at NHL games has been
increasing in recent years. Goal scoring and violence are the two main factors fans associate with
professional ice hockey. Violence occurs in hockey through body checks, slashes and the most popular
form, fighting. Violence and fighting have been shown to have a positive impact on attendance.
Violence is measured as the average number of penalty minutes. Penalties are broken down into two
categories: major and minor. The National Hockey League has taken the opposite stance with a fan
favorite attribute, violence, and they have attempted to decrease the amount of fighting through such
rules such as the instigator . The instigator is known as a player whom the officials blame to have
started the fight. Recent research on the National Hockey League (NHL) has focused on treating
violence as a goods characteristic , an attribute of the product deliberately fostered by teams to
generate revenue (Jones, Stewart Sunderman, 1996). Specifically, one goods characteristic hypothesis
is that there is a direct positive relationship between violence and game attendance (Jones, Stewart
Sunderman, 1996). Hence, there is a positive relationship between violence and revenue. The NHL
tolerates more violence than any other league includes the NFL and NBA. However, the

The Power Of Non-Native People
). It is so important for Native Peoples to fight for their land and make the Non Native peoples aware
of their history, so they can stand by each other if a potential project could damage both. Furthermore,
the ones that are profiting from these environmental projects are mostly corporations. The federal
government and corporations that benefit from these environmental damaging projects have ignored
and overlooked Indigenous rights and claims for centuries. It has only been in the last few decades [...]
that nation states and the international community have begun to take a proactive stance toward
relinquishing power over resources (Richmond et al. 2013, 1045). With the creation of the Indian
Policy, Non Native peoples have realized they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tribes are actually using their treaty rights to fight and prevent plans. Indigenous nations possess
inherent powers of self government that pre date contemporary, colonial nation states. Over time, via
treaties, violence, negotiation, lawmaking, jurisprudence, and legal subterfuge, nation states have
circumscribed this inherent sovereignty. The ways in which settle governments suppressed or even
ignored indigenous powers of self government led to increased conflict between tribes and nation
states (Richmond et al. 2013, 1042). The Indian Country Today author especially attacks the role
money plays in all of this. The importance money has on the American government and personnel,
instead of the actual well being of the people. A politician s jobs these days is to schmooze the rich
and get that money into their campaign coffers so they can get re elected, and that doesn t leave them
much time left to do their real job, which is to represent all the people and not just the few (Jacobs
2015). If a tribe or community stands up and fight for their rights they get bombarded by lawsuits.
This means there is no change from the moment colonists entered the New World in which they felt
they had the right to take up land and only protect their rights instead of the indigenous peoples rights.
In a way the indigenous peoples are still subjected to settler colonialism. This means that people take
away your homeland and establish new rules and a new culture there. In this instance it means that
TransCanada swings in and decides to build a pipeline and the people living on these lands just have
to swallow it. Non Native people have come to the realization that Native are being treated unequally
and are now ready to fight with

The Issue Of Elderly Abuse
Every year an estimated 5 million older Americans are victims of elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
And that s only part of the picture: Experts believe that for every case of elder abuse or neglect
reported, as many as 23 cases go unreported ( World Elder Abuse Awareness Day ). The issue of
elderly abuse is a growing topic in our country because it violates three specific articles in the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Elderly abuse and neglect is an increasing age discrimination
issue in the United States and violates the human rights to an adequate standard of living, equal
protection under the law, and the right to be free from degrading treatment. The often neglectful and
abusive caregivers take advantage of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The caregivers of the victims may not feel that the elderly diagnosed with any type of dementia can
effectively communicate their abuse to family or loved ones, making it easier to manipulate them.
This is violating the right to an adequate standard of living because these people were being drugged
in the nursing home which they considered home. The residents no longer felt safe in their living
space and this is taking away the human right established in Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights. In a study by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, Dr. Harruff evaluated this
correlation, In an elderly individual, invariably there s a combination of processes if there s neglect,
there s usually disease and neglect, he said. For patients in nursing homes, sores can mean that staffers
aren t turning or moving them enough, a serious violation of accepted standards of health care. Federal
data show that more than 7 percent of long term nursing home residents have pressure ulcers (Lee and
Thompson). If the elderly were able to defend themselves and express this abuse to others effectively,
caregivers would not treat them this way because they know that they are inadequately providing care
and this is illegal. The Alzheimer s Association also recognizes that dementia can affect
communication, People with dementia are especially vulnerable because the disease

Celia A Slave Book Review

History 1301
18 November 2017
The Adversity of a Southern Girl The history of slavery and how it intertwined with the politics of
slavery can be found in the story of a young slave name Celia. The historical narrative Celia, A Slave
was written in 1991 by the author Melton A. McLaurin. In the year of 1850, a Missouri farmer named
Robert Newsom buys a young female slave. She was only fourteen years old when she was purchased.
Right after the purchase of Celia, the pattern of sexual abuse from Newsom begin. This true story
gives the details of cruelty and execution of a young black female. Black female slaves were
essentially powerless in a slave society, unable to legally protect themselves from physical assaults of
either white or black males (113). McLaurin has written over twenty books. Some of his most highly
rated books include; The Knights of Labor in the South, The North Carolina State Fair, Growing up
White in the Segregated South for which he received the Lillian Smith Award and Celia, A Slave.
Author Melton McLaurin wrote this book for readers to know and understand a portion of the
American past. He explained how the sexual politics of slavery presented an exact example of the
power relationships within the larger society. In his writing, he demonstrates how ... Show more

could not describe the details of experiences and feelings of her own life. Although the brief and tragic
life of Celia, a slave, cannot provide a comprehensive theory with which to evaluate the manner and
degree to which the sexual exploitation of female slaves influenced the routine operations of the
institution of slavery, it can and does clearly define the issues that must be analyzed if such theory is

Patricia Hill Matrix Of Domination
Matrix of domination Matrix of domination is a sociological paradigm, which explains issues of
oppression that concerns gender, race and class, which is looked as being different but in reality is
intertwined. In addition, other classifications such as religion, age or sexual orientation, are included
in the matrix of domination. The theory originates from the theoretical perspective of multiracial
feminism .Patricia Hill introduced the theory of the matrix of domination in her book called Black
Feminist Thought: Knowledge, consciousness and politics of empowerment. In her book, she talks
about multiracial feminism and the matrix of domination. There are many different ways a person

They shaped my life by making me who I am today. Family has shaped me by family making me
hardworking, ambitious, and encouraging me to strive for the best. My religion has made me very
religious and made me put all my faith in God and has strengthened my morals and values. Education
has taught me to look deeper at certain situation and taught me the importance of education and hard
work. Race, class, gender and sexuality shape the three social institutions. The reason they are shaped
by gender, race, class and sexuality are that they all interconnected with social systems and
institutions. For example, family is a dynamic based on the parents and culture. Gender sexuality,
class and race shape family. The reason it is shaped by gender, sexuality, race, and class is that the
man being the head of the household for most families and the type of household you grew up in. For
example, rather you grew up in a gay or straight household. Your class decides the status of your
family and whether are not you can feed them. Gender, race, class, and sexuality shape religion also
by predominately straight white males being religious leaders. Your religion can determine your
sexuality in many ways for example, most religions preach against homosexuality and if you are
brought up in a strict religious household you have more of a chance of being straight than other
people because you are raised a certain way. Also most religious leaders tend to be from an certain
class depending which church or other religious building you go to .Education is shaped by gender

type of college you go to . Your education is shaped by race because most teachers especially college
professors tend to be white. Not only does race play apart in education but

Effects Of Mono
One very big problem I had to deal with was trying to keep my grades up while I had mono. This was
a such an enormous problem, because I spent about a week in the hospital, and then after that I was
only able to go to school for half days for a couple months. I still received almost the same amount of
work from most teachers, but I didn t get any of the class time and it felt as though I was playing catch
up everyday at school. If I was well and did half days at school I could easily keep up without a doubt,
but some of the effects of mono made me feel constantly tired, drained of energy, and lacking
motivation. Obviously I spent a lot of time sleeping, because another effect of mono includes not
wanting to do anything like talking to others,

Advantages Of Online Shopping
By the end of 21 century the whole world had changed and still looking forward to more moderation
than before and by now online shopping had played an important role in people s lifestyle. But at the
same time, there are a huge number of people prefer to go shopping instead of using online shopping.
So here is the controversial issue that online shopping is superior to the traditional one. Actually,
online shopping is more effective than shopping in stores, for example, it saves time, available in any
time, a variety of product.
People think they waste their time by searching on the internet but for a matter affect dressing up and
leaving your house, driving to a place and buying clothes is way more time than just viewing a

Online shoppers do not have to wait in long lines to check out. Many online retailers allow shoppers to
post reviews about the products that they purchased. There are more choices for buying products.
There is no need of traveling to the store and hence saves both time and fuel. The products bought
online are shipped straight to the doorway. On the other hand, a slight warning that online shopping
can be tricky sometimes as there are plenty of untrusted websites that aren t guaranteed to actually
deliver what you ordered and online theft is mainly done through online shopping. When shopping
online make sure the website is certified and famous with high ratings of other customers and are

Art Museum And Its Effects On Sexual History
Attending the world s largest erotic art museum has encouraged me to view sexuality with a more
opened minded perception. Sexuality is very diverse for instance, in the way sexual acts are performed
and carried out. Historically, it seems that individuals are biologically and genetically programmed to
seek out sexual behaviors with others. Either for the means of reproduction or their own personal
pleasure, but one thing is very evident sex is pleasurable and enjoyable for most. However, cultural
restraints have had the biggest effect on sexual history and throughout the museum that is a
fundamental element of human sexuality that is apparent in the many paintings and sculptures. The
entire collection properly displays sexuality through the race, culture, religion, political affiliations,
and historical time. It was exhilarating to observe many artist viewpoints of sexual behavior. For
instance, in the lithograph, titled Garden of Earthly Delights , by Hieronymous Bosch, in 1500 A.D.
the portrait portrayed elements of the earth entwined with sexuality. A fascinating aspect is that
humans and animals are sexual creatures, and the earth represents the land and the basis for which all
sexual behaviors are carried on. It is also interesting that the piece not only represents behaviors
occurring at day, but also at night, and the elements within the picture such as the colors utilized are
very representative of the artist perception within the cultural norms of that time.

Critical Appreciation Of St. Thomas Aquinas
St. Thomas Aquinas, in his Summa Theologica, clearly states that self esteem, as it is understood
today, is completely incompatible with holiness. He believes that the only way self love can ever be an
orderly love is when it seeks not sensational well being (elevated self love), but only the spiritual good
of the person (holiness). St. Thomas Aquinas explains that inordinate self love is the root cause of
every sin: Every sinful act proceeds from inordinate desire for some temporal good. Now the fact that
anyone desires a temporal good inordinately is due to the fact that he loves himself inordinately; for to
wish some good to someone is to love him. Therefore it is evident that inordinate self love is the cause
of every sin (ST I II. Q77. A4.). Aquinas describes a type of egoism that causes us to turn away from
God. Having high self esteem can be associated at times with human desire of selfishness and greed.
Aquinas simply believes that every sin is a form of inordinate self love. This is a false sense of self
love.
Brother John Sica also writes in the Dominicana Journal that many people falsely think of humility as
a virtue of a low self esteem. Instead, he says, St. Thomas actually teaches us that humility is a virtue
of acknowledging the truth about reality. Since prayer, at its root, is an asking directed at God,
humility is crucially important. Through humility, we recognize our neediness before God. We are
totally and entirely dependent on God for everything and at every moment: our existence, life, breath,
every thought and action.
In similar thought, St. Augustine wrote in Book 1, Chapter I of Confessions, You have made us for
yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless till they find their rest in you. Throughout his life, he had
been a heretic and sinner with high self esteem. He liked himself, admired himself, and was proud of
the image that others had of him; this was what kept him grounded in his lifestyle. In his Confessions,
he even recalls how he saw good and knew what he had to do, but could not bring himself to do it
because he himself had woven the chains that were keeping him bound. It was when he finally
realized his miserable state that alas, his self esteem fell. He

Embracing Dream And Identity Of Hong Kong
Embracing Dream and Identity
In the 90s of the century, many important events happened between China and Hong Kong. Without
questioning, one of the most influential incidents happened during this period of time was Hong Kong
s reunion with China in July 1997; it transformed Hong Kong from a colonial dependent territory to a
Chinese administration region. The local Hong Kong people felt disoriented of their futures and many
of them came to the question of their national identities; it is because the different political and
educational system between Hong Kong and China makes the local Hong Kong people feel
differentiated from the mainland Chinese people. Since Hong Kong and China has been separated for
a few decades, the local Hong Kong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many themes are depicted in these movies, and yet, the topic which has been most discussed is the
exploration of identity. I will discuss in the following of my paper on three Hong Kong movies I pick,
Full Moon in New York (Dir. Stanley Kwan, 1989), Her Fatal Ways (Dir. Alfred Cheung, 1990), and
Comrades, Almost a Lover Story (Dir. Peter Chan, 1997) as reference to illustrate my idea into a
deeper level. Full Moon in New York (Dir. Stanley Kwan, 1989), is a tale of three Chinese women
who has a different cultural background and immigrate to New York out of their distinct purposes.
Zhao Hong, starring Siqin Gaowa, plays a submissive housewife who gains her legal status in U.S.
after married to an American citizen, Thomas. Although her husband and she are able to make a
decent living in Manhattan, however, she is barely coping with strange Western ways. The other two
actresses in the leading role are Sylvia Chang and Maggie Cheung. Sylvia plays as an aspiring actress
and Maggie Cheung plays an ambitious successful business woman. These three women meet at a
diner, which Maggie owns, and their friendship forges on since then. One of the most important
themes has been portrayed in this movie is the cultural conflicts between the Western and Eastern
culture. Such differences are well represented in the relationship of Zhao Hong and her husband. No

Zoos Persuasive Essay
Imagine being captive for life. In a cage locked up when your so innocent. Zoos have become a
controversial issue in our society, and from what I am thinking, I feel that it s not right to keep the
animals in zoos. So do we have the rights to do that? Generally every body has been to a zoo at least
once in their life, I m sure you can remember when you were a kid adoring animals behind glass. But
you were missing the point the big picture.
Animals need freedom it s like being locked in a jail cell. Animals can t do there wild life features
because they do not have the space that they would have in the outdoor word. It causes so much stress
on the animals the exhibits animals are put in are often much smaller than their original habitat. ...

We shouldn t put animals lower than us because we are all a part of nature. too harsh to take these
animals from their own family and habitat just so we can have an hour of entertainment on the
weekends. From my point of view, it s just not fair. Plus another reason to add to this is the harambe
incident. May 28 2016 Peter singer and Karen Dawn professor of bioethics stated a child was curious
and a gorilla got shot . A four year old child climbed past a barricade and fell into a moat the gorilla
grabbed the little boy and dragged him around and easily could of cracked his head or drowned. The
zoo officials shot harambe as the only way to guarantee the child s safety. This incident caused a lot of
rage for the parents and people to the zoo. This would not happen If harambe was caged up, he simply
didn t even know, he sees something new in his cage and of course he s gonna play with it. Think of it
this way what if you were in a jail cell and a new person arrived there wouldn t you wanna talk to him

more likely to participate in social media when infant is napping or breastfeeding. Many outreach and
community that encourage mother and child involvement will occur mid morning, or will following

Anatomy Of A Kimono Essay
The artwork I choose to write about is relevant to gender, sexuality, women, and gender roles. The
name of my chosen piece is Anatomy of a Kimono. This piece was completed in 1974 by Canadian
American artist, Miriam Schapiro. The art piece was created using a multitude of fabrics that could be
found in traditional Japanese kimonos as well as acrylic paint. These various forms of media were
combined on a canvas. In order to assemble the fabric based materials of her work, Miriam Schapiro
collected scraps of silk and handkerchiefs from the various places that she visited. The different
materials Schapiro used were then assembled into ten, large, Japanese style panels that resembled
abstract expressionism. The fabrics represented women s influence ... Show more content on

A large part of Schapiro s goal for this piece was to explain the relationship that women have with
creating certain fabrics and designs and the great deal of skill involved. She described her work as a
collage of the beauty created by women. The piece empowers women and cleverly reveals them as
incredibly intelligent artists who subtly possess the skills required to create extremely complex works
of art and craft that blend in with the everyday life. Another main point of Miriam Schapiro s message
is that women should occupy an equal, if not greater amount of space in comparison with men. The
large size of her piece clearly demonstrates this thought process. In relation, the content of her piece
brings to the forefront, the significant ideas that women and women alone are pioneering new
ideologies in terms of their unique artistic style and culture. During a time when sexism was still very
prevalent in society, women were finding their own special ways to break the mold and distinguish
themselves from men and in turn, explore and practice new skills that go beyond the abilities of men
at the time. In addition to this, the subtle inclusion of embroidered names of women within the
minutiae of the artwork also helps develop a significant focus on driving away the generalizations of
women and establish bold, yet almost silent ways to prove the individualistic characteristics of every
women to the rest of the world. Furthermore, the inclusion of many vibrant colors and rich textures
included in the composition of The Anatomy of a Kimono help to exemplify the strong personalities
of female artists, specifically, the millions of unknown female artists who worked hard to support
themselves and their loved ones. The art piece does not hold back on its strong theme of women s
strength

Bilingualism In Childhood

General Psychology 101

Bilingual Speakers Cognitive Development in Childhood In this journal article, Elena Nicoladis
analyzes the idea that bilingual children develop certain cognitive functions differently and at a faster
rate than monolingual children. She finds that bilingual children learn to think differently depending
on which language they are currently using. For example, bilingual children have the ability to
describe an event differently depending on the language they are using. This leads to the idea that
different languages encode different parts of children s brains. Nicoladis also evaluates the idea that
bilingualism positively affects children s ability to understand that events and words can be analyzed
in various ways. Bilingual children may find it easier to understand that the same word can have
different meanings, which can give them an advantage in learning new words or attempting to define
an unknown word. Bilingualism can also improve children s development of executive functioning
skills, giving them advanced abilities in processing information, task management, and in particular,
selective attention. In social cognition, bilingual children have been noted to have a higher developed
theory of mind than monolingual children, although there is still some debate over whether that can be
attributed strictly to their bilingualism or to other factors.

Why I Started Working With Dontae
When I started working with Dontae I tried to be open minded and not interact with him with theories
floating around in my mind. I was taught in my undergraduate career that conversations with your
clients should feel natural and because I was nervous to showcase my abilities at a new placement I
did not want say the wrong thing and to ruin my ability to make a deep connection with Dontae later.
In addition I considered that Dontae may not be his true self for at least a week because he would be
new to the program and not know any or many of the other residents. I decided during the initial
intake that although I had read all the faxed documents and psychiatric evaluations on Dontae that I
would speak to him and determine for myself what was going on for him.
During Dontae s initial week at MTR I observed Dontae s interactions with others and assessed his
coping skills. I introjected myself into what he was doing to ensure that he adjusted well to MTR staff
and residents. I began to formulate some thoughts as to what was happening for Dontae but tried to
keep an open mind about him as a person. Moreover during the course of my work with Dontae I
began by making sure that I aligned myself with Dontae and made sure that he understood that I was
here to help him rather than hurt him. I made sure that Dontae felt like I cared about him and that he
understood that his all around wellbeing is a priority for me. My purpose for aligning myself with

Examples Of Nick s First Words In The Great Gatsby
What do you think makes a good first impression? A good handshake, eye contact, the way they are
dressed? Authors of books will often use first impressions to show personalities of a character. F. Scott
Fitzgerald is one of those authors. In his book, The Great Gatsby, he uses first impressions of the
characters presented to us to show their personality and how they may act or be portrayed as in the

I Visited My House After Two Months
I visited my house after two months. Everyone was fast asleep. I went inside my room.It was almost
midnight and I was trying to clear my head. I kept thinking about my life and how it has turned into
nuisance. I couldn t imagine any scenarios that could keep my infuriated mind in a placid state. I
decided to wake up, drink the Starbucks that I was fond of and start writing about how I can get the
life I want to live. As I took a sip from that frigid bottle I heard a creak from outside the window. The
rusty gate between those old fences kept on making a squeak as the wind bashed it every now and
then. I never discerned that annoying sound it made before. It must have been the way I used to see
the world I lived in before. Never troubled and never perturbed. My mind was so prone to distractions
as it constantly looked for things to whine about. That squeaky gate made me obnoxious. It felt like
my fate was laughing on me. But, instead of being agitated, I decided to think calmly and go to the
living room where that rusty old gate couldn t trouble me.
I sat down on the sofa which wasn t frayed before. It must have been the Ragdoll I thought, my aunt
who visited last week loves him so much. I decided to turn my laptop on and write down things I
needed to change in order to be contented. Just as I started typing my password, it creaked again.
Before I got my brains to steam up, I realized I left the windows and the door of my room open. I shut
the window and banged the door. I

Summary Of The Curse Of The Poisoned Pretzel
Do you believe that Skidmore is guilty of murder? Is Skidmore callous enough to murder his own
brother? An example, of a brother killing his brother despite the objections of his moral compass is
Cain killing his younger brother Abel. Cain was very envious of his younger brother Abel, and killed
him because God favored Abel s sacrifice over his. Likewise, the author, Paul Haven, strongly
suggests to his readers that Skidmore is a murderer, murderer of his own brother. Paul Haven uses
several direct and indirect characterizations of Skidmore to develope the perspective that he indeed
murdered Manchester, without ever stating that Skidmore is actually guilty. Ultimately, the readers of
The Curse of the Poisoned Pretzel can conclude that Skidmore is the murderer of his brother from
three main points Paul Haven makes about Skimore: Skidmore is creepy, hates Manchester, and the
ruling of Manchester s death is perposterous and raises suspicion.
The author, Paul Haven, creates the perspective that Skidmore is guilty of murder by strongly stating
that all people think that Skimore is a creepy person. As stated in The Curse of the Poisoned Pretzel ,
He gave everyone the creeps (Haven). Implying that Skimore was always a creepy person and is
mentally unstable, creepy. Individuals who posses these qualities have the potential to murder
someone. Likewise, Paul Haven mentions that no one in the story could remember seeing Skidmore s
eyes, implying that Skidmore was kind of soulless

Analysis Of The Exorcist By Stephen King
With the development of our society, the ideas and concepts of lots of things have been changed.
Feminist s act is an important hallmark on our path to improve our society. But stereotypes against the
role of female could still be found in many literatures. Looking back into our history, the appearance
of women has been always weak and helpless in different time period, compare to man. Although,
people s attitude towards women has been advancing, but there is still a space for improvements and
developments. Therefore, individuals must challenge their own false impression regarding the role of
female, if our society were to truly abridge the gap between genders. For example, there are some
literatures demonstrating sexism perfectly. In Christine, Stephen King illustrates a car that processes
the personality of a woman, which often turns violent, driven by envy and wrath; The Exorcist creates
the character of Regan, which satisfy the public s expectation of the weak and helpless; and Dracula is
a classic vampire story, where the author emphatically deprecates the woman s status in the common
society. Overall, by comparing with these three novels, the authors have used some specific opinions
to enhance the issue of feminism. The authors of Christine, The exorcist and Dracula are considered as
sexist writers from the portrayal of Leigh Cabot, Regan and Lucy Westenra s characterization. They
often portray the figure of female in a discriminative way, debase and objectify women in

A New Era Of Cryptography
A new era of Cryptography: Quantum Cryptography
Sandeepak Bhandari
Abstract:
Security is the first priority in today digital world for secure communication between sender and
receiver. Various Cryptography techniques are developed time to time for secure communication.
Quantum Cryptography is one of the latest and advanced cryptography technique, it is different from
all other cryptography technique and more secure. It based on the Quantum of physics since its name
which make it more secure from all other cryptography and UN breakable. In this paper about
quantum cryptography i.e working, limitation and advantages discussed.
Keywords:
Photon, Polarization filter, Advantage and Limitation of Quantum Cryptography.
Introduction:
ID Quantique presents a quantum cryptography framework; will take after by the Magic innovations.
These frameworks use photons to send mystery encryption keys, concealing every key behind the
most well known tent of quantum mechanics, the Heisenberg vulnerability rule. This standard says,
that it is difficult to know both an article s position and speed in the meantime. Any email message,
phone call or money related encoded with these keys will be protected.
Quantum cryptography utilizes current learning of material science to build up a cryptosystem that is
not ready to be vanquished that is, one that is totally secure against being traded off without
information of the sender or the beneficiary of the messages. Quantum alludes to the

Analysis Of How Elizabeth Barrett Browning Let Me Count...
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Elizabeth Barrett Browning said that in her poem How do
I love thee? Let me count the ways. to show her love for her unnamed husband. She shows just from
that statement her love for him if she is willing to make a list solely for the ways she love him. If that
is true from the poem, it show that Browning has a problem with man. Maybe even an obsession to
love her unnamed husband. The poem states that she loves him enough to make a list, that Browning
loves the man from night to day, and lastly she writes that she has taken her love of God and put
towards her love for him. Browning has just written about her obsession over her husband and how it
seems to be a problem with her day to day routine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If she only has candlelight then it should indicate that there is no light outside and that it is the
evening. So her meaning behind the quote is that she loves him from the morning to the evening. If
that isn t enough to sound a bit weird for somebody to love another person everyday. Browning
obviously loved this man a great deal, but was a bit too much?
¨I love thee with a love I seemed to lose. With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath...¨. The poem
is a love poem, but at times Browning has seemed to get carried away with writing about her love for
this man. The quote states the ¨I love thee with a love I seemed to lose. With my lost saints.¨ The love
that she lost is almost certainly the of God. When she says ¨lost saints¨ a saint is a person that has a
likeness are closeness to God. A person with exceptional holiness. So when she says that ¨lost saints¨ it
should mean her lost of love towards God. So when Browning writes ¨I love thee with a love I seemed
to lose¨ then it should mean that she loves him more than God, because it seems like she has replaced
her love towards God and replaced it with her love towards him. Putting the man in her mind at a God
like state or being. So if Browning loves this

Mayor Of Casterbridge By Michael Farfrae Analysis
The Resentment and Downfall of an Antihero In the mid 1800s, Michael Henchard and his wife
Susan, who carried their daughter Elizabeth Jane, were walking down a path seeking a place to lodge
for the evening. Stopping at a county fair tent, the family decided to eat furmity, Michael Henchard
(who possessed a quick temper and a drinking problem at the time) decided to slide the cook extra
money to spike his meal. After this point, the situation rapidly got out of hand and Michael Henchard
sold his wife and child to a sailor for five guineas. This was the shocking first scene in Thomas Hardy
s novel, Mayor of Casterbridge, published in 1886. To proceed with the story and jump ahead almost
two decades, Susan and Elizabeth Jane sought out Henchard (since the sailor was lost at sea and
believed to never return) in the town of Casterbridge, where they discovered that he was Mayor. From
this point on, the husband and wife reconciled their differences, married again, and started new
beginnings together. However, things took a turn for the worse ever since the two women materialized
back into Henchard s life. Throughout the novel, Donald Farfrae, a man Michael requested assistance
from, availed in every aspect over Mr. Henchard, causing a expeditious downfall to the latter. Their
differences included love, success, popularity, fortune, and authority. However, Farfrae was not the
cause of Michael s misfortune, in fact Donald was noble in all of his affairs. Michael Henchard was

The Pros And Cons Of The Nuremberg Code
Tens of thousands of people have been tortured, killed, or experimented on for unfair and unjust
reasons. Some of the people didn t sign up for what they thought it was and were manipulated into the
situations. Others were forced upon the inhuman cruelties that no person should ever have to
endeavor. Without the Nuremberg Code, tons of unethical experiments were being conducted. The
Nuremberg Code is a very important document in regulating all scientific research for the better of
humans now, and in the future.
Without the Nuremberg Code there was many contradictories in the field of science that was cruel to
humanity. For example, many experiments done in the Nazi Experimentations were completely
unnecessary and resulted in tons of deaths. An article about the sun lamp experiment states, The
victims were placed under sunlamps which were so hot they would burn the skin. One young
homosexual victim was repeatedly cooled to unconsciousness then revived with lamps until he was
pouring with sweat. He died one evening after several test sessions ( Medical Experiments ). This
experiment wasn t justified with any reasonable explanation for why it was done. They should of
stopped when he went unconscious the first time instead of continuously torturing him by repeating
the procedure. Another time the Nazi scientists went to far was with the twin cases. The article later
says, After three weeks of tortuous medical examinations they were taken to the dissection laboratory.

The Goal Of Anticipation Guide Strategy
All of my observation hours were spent observing morning routines, ELA workshop, and math lesson.
After having students copying homework as part of the morning routines, either of the teachers would
call on students by the designated row to come and sit on the carpet for the reading workshop. The
teachers would use anticipation guide strategy while leading the activity. They would begin the lesson
by introducing the text to the students. Before reading a selection, the students were provided with a
worksheet to read few statements related to the reading material and were asked if they agree or
disagree with each of them. Both the teachers would read aloud taking turns and in between ask
question about the theme, plot, characters, vocabulary, and asking how do they think the reading
corresponds to each of the statements. The students were also given an opportunity to discuss with a
partner as they complete the worksheet. According to Ortlieb (2013), the goal of anticipation guide
strategy is to enhance the probability of learning through alerting students about what they need to pay
particular attention to within the upcoming reading. Once the students have an idea what to expect
within a text prior to reading they begin the brainstorming process of expecting outcomes; later, they
can check their original thinking against what actually emerged in the text. This technique of engaging
students in thinking around the text confirms critical connections that might not otherwise

My Innovative Team At Thb Consulting Essay
Overview: While the subscription food delivery industry is still new and Blue Apron continues to be at
the forefront of this new service, competitors are catching up by offering services to differentiate
themselves. My innovative team at THB Consulting is focusing on the subscription model to better
serve customers and increase profit. Currently, the main problem with the subscription model is its
lack of choice for customers. Plated, HelloFresh, and Chefday, the three direct competitors, offer their
customers much more choice in their subscription model. Because Blue Apron is in a competitive
industry, it is imperative to always look forward while maintaining the excellent quality and
wholesome image customers have come to expect. After relentless research, my team has come up
with three recommendations for the company to pursue: 1) Offer customers meals with or without a
subscription. 2) Increase the variety of choices for each order. 3) Create an app for customers to order
meals at any time. These three ideas came to fruition after careful deliberation with my team. All of
the options will meet the company s needs of offering a variety of subscription options to maximize
profit in the future. Ultimately, we know that by pursuing these ideas, not only will Blue Apron benefit
from the increase in profit and customers, the company s valuable customers will greatly appreciate
the variety of options they have. Background: My team began our research by looking into what

Worldview Of A Client Awareness
Awareness is consciousness of one s personal reactions to people who are different, being aware of
personal assumptions, values, biases, and understanding the worldview of a client. (Castro et al.,
2010). Counselors must take a look inside the self and gain insight into how their political views affect
their attitudes and beliefs about those who are similar to them and those who are different. No one
viewpoint can serve as the dominant view because counselors potentially serve all members of society
and must be viewed as open to the viewpoints held by others. In a study conducted by the Minnesota
Department of Health (2003), researchers addressed mental health disparities between communities of
color and the White community in several areas of health and well being. Results indicated that
although the amount of Asian Americans and African Americans students living in Greater Minnesota
is relatively small, they reported much higher levels of several key risk behaviors than do their
counterpart. More specifically, African Americans tend to score twice as worse as their White
counterparts in most areas (sexual activity, fighting, emotional distress, smoking, drinking, family ties,

Compare And Contrast Hedda Gabler And Oedipus The King
Ibsen and Sophocles are distinct writers from different periods and culture. They both wrote plays and
stories with strong protagonists who the readers don t enjoy, but, whose fate is somewhat tragic in a
sense that elicits the reader s sympathy for the sense of wasted potential and tragic loss. Personally, I
agree with this statement because from both authors books like Ibsen Hedda Gabler and Sophocles
Oedipus The King ; the readers did not like the main characters, but the reader does sympathize. The
protagonists from both plays do portray themselves as people that others don t like, but as the plays
goes on; the protagonists begin to reveal themselves and their struggles. In which, the readers would
sympathize.
On Sophocles text Oedipus the King , Sophocles begins the play with the main character: Oedipus is
this heroic person who is to find out the cause of the disease that is spreading across the city and
causing so many to die. Oedipus is a person who is brave and intelligent because he was the one to
solve the sphinx riddle and to kill her. On page 483, paragraph 4, Sophocles describes the backstory of
how Oedipus becomes famous in the city of Thebes, ... When he reached Thebes, he found the city
oppressed by a dreadful female monster, a Sphinx part human, part lion, often also depicted in Greek
art with the wings of an eagle and the tail of a snake. The Sphinx refused to let anyone into the city
unless they could answer her riddle [...] She strangled and devoured

10 Chicago Bulls Stars From the 90s Where Are They Now?

The 90s were undoubtedly the most successful times of the Chicago Bulls. It was their ferocity and
hard work which saw the team amass the NBA championships titles for a good six times within 7
years (1991 1998). No other basketball team has ever risen to such heights of winning the
championship finals on multiple occasions other than the Chicago Bulls. Now that it is no longer the
nineties one major question which still echoes from fans is where are stars from the 90s now?

Did DFA react too quickly to these still relatively controversial findings, do they fit in with the
relatively strong beliefs in efficient markets by DFA and could a change in DFA s strategy increase
both the performance of its funds and the company overall? These questions will be answered by a
thorough analysis of the value, and the size premium. Value premium A lot of criticism on the CAPM
has arisen over the last decades. One finding by Basu in 1977 is often used by opponents of the model
in order to take down the foundation of the CAPM. Basu[3] found that stocks with a low price
earnings ratio, called value stocks, tend to outperform stocks with a high price earnings ratio, named
growth stocks. As the CAPM only allows for fundamental risk to explain excess returns on stocks, the
finding that stocks from companies with high fundamentals (earnings, sales, dividends) relative to
price outperformed growth stocks was in contradiction with the classical CAPM. Proponents of the
CAPM and the efficient market argued that the value premium could be explained by their classical
risk and return rewards, value stocks they argued earned higher returns due to higher risk related to
poor performance in the recent history of the firm. Fama and French[4] however also concluded that
the value premium did exist and even found in the same paper that the book to market ratio and size
premium together were able to explain excess returns of a stock

Human Trafficking Is Today s Version Of Slavery
We Are People Human trafficking is today s version of slavery. Victims are forced into labor,
prostitution, and other exploitations. In 2007 three brothers conspired together to trafficked women
from Mexico to New York, Queens. The brothers threatened, assaulted, and psychologically coerced
the young women and minors into prostitution. These men were committed to sex trafficking that one
of the brothers, Victor Leonel Estrada Tepal, forced his wife, who was only seventeen at the time, into
their sex trafficking trade. The brothers did not tell the women the real truth of why they were taking
them to the United States. In January 2014 the three brothers were arrested and in 2015 they plead
guilty to sex trafficking through the use of force, fraud, and coercion of the young women. The
brothers are facing a minimum of fifteen years in prison to a life sentence in prison. According to HSI
Special Agent in Charge Hayes, These men preyed on innocent women, luring them into the United
States under false pretenses and then cruelly enslaving them to satisfy their own greed in a ruthless
prostitution scheme ( Justice News ). These men are only one example of human traffickers. Human
trafficking is a globally wide problem and countries are not working together to end this issue. Society
should focus on achieving international human rights and promote an internal standard of laws against
human trafficking. Although Utilitarians argue we should maximize happiness of the majority by

Ways For Nurses For A Family With Chronic Illness
The purpose of this paper is to present ways for nurses to consider when providing care for a family
with chronic illness. Touhy et al., (2012) defines chronic illness as an illness that last more than a year
and continuous medical treatment with limitation to activity of daily living. Chronic illness such as
stroke can present family and individual challenges throughout an individual s life span. Knowledge
about disease pathology and compliance to medical treatment while having family support are
essential for prevention of additional complications and comorbidities. Cancer, cardiovascular disease,
and diabetes are the most common chronic diseases in Canada. According to the (Canadian Nurses
Association [CNA]), each year 163, 000 Canadians die due to cardiovascular disease, cancer, lung
disease, and diabetes while cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death, disability, and

promotion, and develop preventative management care plan that are appropriate for family situations.

shop. Dr. Buck gave a loan of $1000 for implementation of this plan. The first restaurant was opened
in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in 1965. It did well in its first summer with the help of advertising slogans
like put a foot in your mouth. Emphasizing the foot long sandwich, and when you re hungry, make
tracks for Subway. Buck suggested opening a second restaurant. That way people will see us
expanding and think that we re successful. DeLuca has changed the company s system of franchise
development several times over the years and has kept ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Alon, L. (2006, p.47 48), due to religious prohibition to eat pork in case of Muslims and
to eat beef in Hindus in India, no pork or beef products are used in any of the sandwiches. Instead
these were substituted with lamb, chicken and turkey. Counter area and preparation areas in India are
separated because vegetarians do not like to be served from the same place that non vegetarian food
are prepared. Technological: new innovations and development, technological transfer, obsolescence.
Subway is using Partech POS (point of sale) System. Competitive analysis According to McCarty, M.

Veterans Compensation For Veterans
With national security playing such sizeable a role today, it is important to ask questions about the
effects it has on the military personnel. Veterans go through a lot to protect, serve, and defend this
nation for a better tomorrow. But in response to their actions to benefit America, do American citizens
and our government do all to support our veterans. Are they appropriately being awarded
compensation as of loss, injury, and suffering? With the number of veterans growing are they
receiving recognition for all their efforts as an individual and a whole? The veteran population has
adapted through the ages, but there has always remained the solid respect and uttermost gratitude
towards them. Even though veterans are thought of very highly for their bravery, they are not
receiving adequate compensation and recognition.
The evolution of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has grown to accommodate and benefit
the new age of veterans. It dates back to the Revolutionary War where the Continental Congress
agreed to provide pensions for disabled soldiers. This was in an effort to raise support for the Patriots
side during the war. In the Civil War Era Nation s Homes were designed to aid injured soldiers. The
First Nations home located in southern Maine, admitted any Union soldier that needed medical
attention. Approximately thirty years latter marked the climax of the Nation s homes, for vets with a
total of eleven facilities nationwide ( About VA ). These programs were

Great Chicago Fire Dbq
In 1871 October eighth, the fire known as the Great Chicago fire almost illiberated the whole city. So,
because of the Great Chicago fire, we start to think of three questions. What seems to have caused the
fire? What factors contributed to the spread of the fire? Could the disaster have been prevented? For
the first question is what seems to have caused the fire? The fire was caused by the unusually warm
weather in October, a lot of wood things made, and in poorer districts the lot sizes were small and
were filled with cottages, barns, sheds, and outhouses. The warm weather not only caused the fire but
because of it, crops were often destroyed. Anyways, we couldn t do anything since we didn t control
the weather but, the buildings, interiors, and lot sizes we could ve done something. Instead of making
the buildings out of wood, we could ve made it out of bricks and stones. Instead of having poorer ...

Factors that contributed the spread of the fire was the shed of the barn included two tons of coal for
winter and large supply of kindling wood and the barn s loft held over three tons of hay. If it s hot, dry,
and humid, don t put things that cause fire in places that are made out of things that can spread fire.
Coal and wood not a good combination. If there is fire and hay together it s going to cause trouble.
Could the disaster have been prevented? In my opinion, yes, the disaster could have been prevented. If
the buildings or even the interior was made out of fire there wouldn t be the spread of fire. If the lot
sizes in poorer districts were a little bigger the citizens at the time wouldn t stuff so much buildings in
the lot. If the citizens of the time put things that cause fire in the different buildings there wouldn t be
factors that caused the disaster. But, in the end we realize that we humans aren t perfect. We learn our
mistakes so we don t make those same mistakes

The Effects Of Bordetella Pertussis On An Acute...
Introduction
Bordetella pertussis (known as whooping cough) was discovered by Bordet and Gengou as an acute
respiratory tract infection. (1 2)
The highly contagious B. pertussis is a strictly aerobic gram negative coccobacillus that grows best
between 35 37 ºC, and is transmitted through inhalation of aerosol droplets. It is one of ten known
Bordetella species, and accounts for 50 million cases annually, in which 300,000 of them result in
death. (1 3)
Pathogenesis
There are four stages in B. pertussis infection. The first stage is attachment. Filamentous
hemagglutinin (FHA), a type of protein, along with fimbrae (FIM), a cell surface structure, serve as
major adhesins (for adhesion) for pertussis. (1) They firstly attach to ciliated epithelial cells in the
nasopharynx, and then begin to multiply. (4)
The second stage is evasion of host defenses. Pertussis uses adenylate cyclase toxin (ACT) and
pertussis toxin (PT), a complex bacterial toxin, to evade host defenses. ACT inhibits the motility and
activation of phagocytes and T lymphocytes, while PT targets the lung s immune system. This
prevents neutrophils from reaching the respiratory tract quickly, and also promotes the infection
through macrophages. PT also causes lymphocytosis, which is an influx of lymphocytes in the blood.
(1 2)
The third stage is local damage. Pulmonary lesions, necrosis, and peeling of ciliated bronchial
epithelium occurs. This is accomplished by tracheal cytoxin (TCT) and dermonecrotic toxins,

  • 2. The Positive Relationship Between Violence And Violence In... Fighting in hockey is often a polarizing topic. Hockey is a unique game, in which fights extract a loud ovation from the spectators. Fans attend for a variety of reasons. Attendance at NHL games has been increasing in recent years. Goal scoring and violence are the two main factors fans associate with professional ice hockey. Violence occurs in hockey through body checks, slashes and the most popular form, fighting. Violence and fighting have been shown to have a positive impact on attendance. Violence is measured as the average number of penalty minutes. Penalties are broken down into two categories: major and minor. The National Hockey League has taken the opposite stance with a fan favorite attribute, violence, and they have attempted to decrease the amount of fighting through such rules such as the instigator . The instigator is known as a player whom the officials blame to have started the fight. Recent research on the National Hockey League (NHL) has focused on treating violence as a goods characteristic , an attribute of the product deliberately fostered by teams to generate revenue (Jones, Stewart Sunderman, 1996). Specifically, one goods characteristic hypothesis is that there is a direct positive relationship between violence and game attendance (Jones, Stewart Sunderman, 1996). Hence, there is a positive relationship between violence and revenue. The NHL tolerates more violence than any other league includes the NFL and NBA. However, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Power Of Non-Native People ). It is so important for Native Peoples to fight for their land and make the Non Native peoples aware of their history, so they can stand by each other if a potential project could damage both. Furthermore, the ones that are profiting from these environmental projects are mostly corporations. The federal government and corporations that benefit from these environmental damaging projects have ignored and overlooked Indigenous rights and claims for centuries. It has only been in the last few decades [...] that nation states and the international community have begun to take a proactive stance toward relinquishing power over resources (Richmond et al. 2013, 1045). With the creation of the Indian Policy, Non Native peoples have realized they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The tribes are actually using their treaty rights to fight and prevent plans. Indigenous nations possess inherent powers of self government that pre date contemporary, colonial nation states. Over time, via treaties, violence, negotiation, lawmaking, jurisprudence, and legal subterfuge, nation states have circumscribed this inherent sovereignty. The ways in which settle governments suppressed or even ignored indigenous powers of self government led to increased conflict between tribes and nation states (Richmond et al. 2013, 1042). The Indian Country Today author especially attacks the role money plays in all of this. The importance money has on the American government and personnel, instead of the actual well being of the people. A politician s jobs these days is to schmooze the rich and get that money into their campaign coffers so they can get re elected, and that doesn t leave them much time left to do their real job, which is to represent all the people and not just the few (Jacobs 2015). If a tribe or community stands up and fight for their rights they get bombarded by lawsuits. This means there is no change from the moment colonists entered the New World in which they felt they had the right to take up land and only protect their rights instead of the indigenous peoples rights. In a way the indigenous peoples are still subjected to settler colonialism. This means that people take away your homeland and establish new rules and a new culture there. In this instance it means that TransCanada swings in and decides to build a pipeline and the people living on these lands just have to swallow it. Non Native people have come to the realization that Native are being treated unequally and are now ready to fight with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Issue Of Elderly Abuse Every year an estimated 5 million older Americans are victims of elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation. And that s only part of the picture: Experts believe that for every case of elder abuse or neglect reported, as many as 23 cases go unreported ( World Elder Abuse Awareness Day ). The issue of elderly abuse is a growing topic in our country because it violates three specific articles in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The residents no longer felt safe in their living space and this is taking away the human right established in Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. For patients in nursing homes, sores can mean that staffers aren t turning or moving them enough, a serious violation of accepted standards of health care. • 9. Art Museum And Its Effects On Sexual History Attending the world s largest erotic art museum has encouraged me to view sexuality with a more opened minded perception. Sexuality is very diverse for instance, in the way sexual acts are performed and carried out. Historically, it seems that individuals are biologically and genetically programmed to seek out sexual behaviors with others. Either for the means of reproduction or their own personal pleasure, but one thing is very evident sex is pleasurable and enjoyable for most. However, cultural restraints have had the biggest effect on sexual history and throughout the museum that is a fundamental element of human sexuality that is apparent in the many paintings and sculptures. The entire collection properly displays sexuality through the race, culture, religion, political affiliations, and historical time. It was exhilarating to observe many artist viewpoints of sexual behavior. For instance, in the lithograph, titled Garden of Earthly Delights , by Hieronymous Bosch, in 1500 A.D. the portrait portrayed elements of the earth entwined with sexuality. A fascinating aspect is that humans and animals are sexual creatures, and the earth represents the land and the basis for which all sexual behaviors are carried on. It is also interesting that the piece not only represents behaviors occurring at day, but also at night, and the elements within the picture such as the colors utilized are very representative of the artist perception within the cultural norms of that time. ... • 10. Critical Appreciation Of St. Thomas Aquinas St. Thomas Aquinas, in his Summa Theologica, clearly states that self esteem, as it is understood today, is completely incompatible with holiness. He believes that the only way self love can ever be an orderly love is when it seeks not sensational well being (elevated self love), but only the spiritual good of the person (holiness). St. Thomas Aquinas explains that inordinate self love is the root cause of every sin: Every sinful act proceeds from inordinate desire for some temporal good. Now the fact that anyone desires a temporal good inordinately is due to the fact that he loves himself inordinately; for to wish some good to someone is to love him. Therefore it is evident that inordinate self love is the cause of every sin (ST I II. Q77. A4.). Aquinas describes a type of egoism that causes us to turn away from God. Having high self esteem can be associated at times with human desire of selfishness and greed. Aquinas simply believes that every sin is a form of inordinate self love. This is a false sense of self love. Brother John Sica also writes in the Dominicana Journal that many people falsely think of humility as a virtue of a low self esteem. Instead, he says, St. Thomas actually teaches us that humility is a virtue of acknowledging the truth about reality. Since prayer, at its root, is an asking directed at God, humility is crucially important. Through humility, we recognize our neediness before God. We are totally and entirely dependent on God for everything and at every moment: our existence, life, breath, every thought and action. In similar thought, St. Augustine wrote in Book 1, Chapter I of Confessions, You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless till they find their rest in you. Throughout his life, he had been a heretic and sinner with high self esteem. He liked himself, admired himself, and was proud of the image that others had of him; this was what kept him grounded in his lifestyle. In his Confessions, he even recalls how he saw good and knew what he had to do, but could not bring himself to do it because he himself had woven the chains that were keeping him bound. The art piece was created using a multitude of fabrics that could be found in traditional Japanese kimonos as well as acrylic paint. These various forms of media were combined on a canvas. A large part of Schapiro s goal for this piece was to explain the relationship that women have with creating certain fabrics and designs and the great deal of skill involved. The piece empowers women and cleverly reveals them as incredibly intelligent artists who subtly possess the skills required to create extremely complex works of art and craft that blend in with the everyday life. Another main point of Miriam Schapiro s message is that women should occupy an equal, if not greater amount of space in comparison with men. The large size of her piece clearly demonstrates this thought process. In relation, the content of her piece brings to the forefront, the significant ideas that women and women alone are pioneering new ideologies in terms of their unique artistic style and culture. During a time when sexism was still very prevalent in society, women were finding their own special ways to break the mold and distinguish themselves from men and in turn, explore and practice new skills that go beyond the abilities of men at the time. In addition to this, the subtle inclusion of embroidered names of women within the minutiae of the artwork also helps develop a significant focus on driving away the generalizations of women and establish bold, yet almost silent ways to prove the individualistic characteristics of every women to the rest of the world. Furthermore, the inclusion of many vibrant colors and rich textures included in the composition of The Anatomy of a Kimono help to exemplify the strong personalities of female artists, specifically, the millions of unknown female artists who worked hard to support themselves and their loved ones. Bilingualism In Childhood Alexis Stoner General Psychology 101 Dr. Nowak 2 October 2017 Bilingual Speakers Cognitive Development in Childhood In this journal article, Elena Nicoladis analyzes the idea that bilingual children develop certain cognitive functions differently and at a faster rate than monolingual children. She finds that bilingual children learn to think differently depending on which language they are currently using. For example, bilingual children have the ability to describe an event differently depending on the language they are using. This leads to the idea that different languages encode different parts of children s brains. Nicoladis also evaluates the idea that bilingualism positively affects children s ability to understand that events and words can be analyzed in various ways. Bilingual children may find it easier to understand that the same word can have different meanings, which can give them an advantage in learning new words or attempting to define an unknown word. Bilingualism can also improve children s development of executive functioning skills, giving them advanced abilities in processing information, task management, and in particular, selective attention. In social cognition, bilingual children have been noted to have a higher developed theory of mind than monolingual children, although there is still some debate over whether that can be attributed strictly to their bilingualism or to other factors. An example, of a brother killing his brother despite the objections of his moral compass is Cain killing his younger brother Abel. Likewise, the author, Paul Haven, strongly suggests to his readers that Skidmore is a murderer, murderer of his own brother. A New Era Of Cryptography A new era of Cryptography: Quantum Cryptography Sandeepak Bhandari Abstract: Security is the first priority in today digital world for secure communication between sender and receiver. Various Cryptography techniques are developed time to time for secure communication. Quantum Cryptography is one of the latest and advanced cryptography technique, it is different from all other cryptography technique and more secure. It based on the Quantum of physics since its name which make it more secure from all other cryptography and UN breakable. In this paper about quantum cryptography i.e working, limitation and advantages discussed. Keywords: Photon, Polarization filter, Advantage and Limitation of Quantum Cryptography. Introduction: ID Quantique presents a quantum cryptography framework; will take after by the Magic innovations. These frameworks use photons to send mystery encryption keys, concealing every key behind the most well known tent of quantum mechanics, the Heisenberg vulnerability rule. This standard says, that it is difficult to know both an article s position and speed in the meantime. Any email message, phone call or money related encoded with these keys will be protected. Quantum cryptography utilizes current learning of material science to build up a cryptosystem that is not ready to be vanquished that is, one that is totally secure against being traded off without information of the sender or the beneficiary of the messages. Let me count the ways. to show her love for her unnamed husband. She shows just from that statement her love for him if she is willing to make a list solely for the ways she love him. If that is true from the poem, it show that Browning has a problem with man. Maybe even an obsession to love her unnamed husband. The poem states that she loves him enough to make a list, that Browning loves the man from night to day, and lastly she writes that she has taken her love of God and put towards her love for him. If she only has candlelight then it should indicate that there is no light outside and that it is the evening. So her meaning behind the quote is that she loves him from the morning to the evening. If that isn t enough to sound a bit weird for somebody to love another person everyday. Browning obviously loved this man a great deal, but was a bit too much? ¨I love thee with a love I seemed to lose. With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath...¨. The poem is a love poem, but at times Browning has seemed to get carried away with writing about her love for this man. The quote states the ¨I love thee with a love I seemed to lose. With my lost saints.¨ The love that she lost is almost certainly the of God. When she says ¨lost saints¨ a saint is a person that has a likeness are closeness to God. A person with exceptional holiness. So when she says that ¨lost saints¨ it should mean her lost of love towards God. So when Browning writes ¨I love thee with a love I seemed to lose¨ then it should mean that she loves him more than God, because it seems like she has replaced her love towards God and replaced it with her love towards him. Stopping at a county fair tent, the family decided to eat furmity, Michael Henchard (who possessed a quick temper and a drinking problem at the time) decided to slide the cook extra money to spike his meal. After this point, the situation rapidly got out of hand and Michael Henchard sold his wife and child to a sailor for five guineas. Without the Nuremberg Code, tons of unethical experiments were being conducted. The Nuremberg Code is a very important document in regulating all scientific research for the better of humans now, and in the future. Without the Nuremberg Code there was many contradictories in the field of science that was cruel to humanity. For example, many experiments done in the Nazi Experimentations were completely unnecessary and resulted in tons of deaths. An article about the sun lamp experiment states, The victims were placed under sunlamps which were so hot they would burn the skin. One young homosexual victim was repeatedly cooled to unconsciousness then revived with lamps until he was pouring with sweat. He died one evening after several test sessions ( Medical Experiments ). This experiment wasn t justified with any reasonable explanation for why it was done. • 30. The Goal Of Anticipation Guide Strategy All of my observation hours were spent observing morning routines, ELA workshop, and math lesson. After having students copying homework as part of the morning routines, either of the teachers would call on students by the designated row to come and sit on the carpet for the reading workshop. The teachers would use anticipation guide strategy while leading the activity. They would begin the lesson by introducing the text to the students. Before reading a selection, the students were provided with a worksheet to read few statements related to the reading material and were asked if they agree or disagree with each of them. Both the teachers would read aloud taking turns and in between ask question about the theme, plot, characters, vocabulary, and asking how do they think the reading corresponds to each of the statements. The students were also given an opportunity to discuss with a partner as they complete the worksheet. According to Ortlieb (2013), the goal of anticipation guide strategy is to enhance the probability of learning through alerting students about what they need to pay particular attention to within the upcoming reading. Once the students have an idea what to expect within a text prior to reading they begin the brainstorming process of expecting outcomes; later, they can check their original thinking against what actually emerged in the text. This technique of engaging students in thinking around the text confirms critical connections that might not otherwise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My innovative team at THB Consulting is focusing on the subscription model to better serve customers and increase profit. Currently, the main problem with the subscription model is its lack of choice for customers. Plated, HelloFresh, and Chefday, the three direct competitors, offer their customers much more choice in their subscription model. Because Blue Apron is in a competitive industry, it is imperative to always look forward while maintaining the excellent quality and wholesome image customers have come to expect. After relentless research, my team has come up with three recommendations for the company to pursue: 1) Offer customers meals with or without a subscription. 2) Increase the variety of choices for each order. 3) Create an app for customers to order meals at any time. These three ideas came to fruition after careful deliberation with my team. All of the options will meet the company s needs of offering a variety of subscription options to maximize profit in the future. These questions will be answered by a thorough analysis of the value, and the size premium. Value premium A lot of criticism on the CAPM has arisen over the last decades. One finding by Basu in 1977 is often used by opponents of the model in order to take down the foundation of the CAPM. Basu[3] found that stocks with a low price earnings ratio, called value stocks, tend to outperform stocks with a high price earnings ratio, named growth stocks. As the CAPM only allows for fundamental risk to explain excess returns on stocks, the finding that stocks from companies with high fundamentals (earnings, sales, dividends) relative to price outperformed growth stocks was in contradiction with the classical CAPM. Proponents of the CAPM and the efficient market argued that the value premium could be explained by their classical risk and return rewards, value stocks they argued earned higher returns due to higher risk related to poor performance in the recent history of the firm. Fama and French[4] however also concluded that the value premium did exist and even found in the same paper that the book to market ratio and size premium together were able to explain excess returns of a stock ... • 47. The Effects Of Bordetella Pertussis On An Acute... Introduction Bordetella pertussis (known as whooping cough) was discovered by Bordet and Gengou as an acute respiratory tract infection. (1 2) The highly contagious B. pertussis is a strictly aerobic gram negative coccobacillus that grows best between 35 37 ºC, and is transmitted through inhalation of aerosol droplets. It is one of ten known Bordetella species, and accounts for 50 million cases annually, in which 300,000 of them result in death. (1 3) Pathogenesis There are four stages in B. pertussis infection. The first stage is attachment. Filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), a type of protein, along with fimbrae (FIM), a cell surface structure, serve as major adhesins (for adhesion) for pertussis. (1) They firstly attach to ciliated epithelial cells in the nasopharynx, and then begin to multiply. (4) The second stage is evasion of host defenses. Pertussis uses adenylate cyclase toxin (ACT) and pertussis toxin (PT), a complex bacterial toxin, to evade host defenses. ACT inhibits the motility and activation of phagocytes and T lymphocytes, while PT targets the lung s immune system. This prevents neutrophils from reaching the respiratory tract quickly, and also promotes the infection through macrophages. PT also causes lymphocytosis, which is an influx of lymphocytes in the blood. (1 2) The third stage is local damage. Pulmonary lesions, necrosis, and peeling of ciliated bronchial epithelium occurs. This is accomplished by tracheal cytoxin (TCT) and dermonecrotic toxins, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
