The For A Good Risk Management Plan
Alcohol and rock concerts often intersected over the course of time; plenty of concerts and festivals
have either used alcohol as a sponsor or ancillary revenue. Alcohol and other types of concessions sold
at festivals are considered ancillary revenue because it is derived from goods or services other than the
primary service or good being offered (What is ancillary revenue, 2015, para.1). Therefore, serving
alcohol at festivals is another way for the promotors, event managers, and the venue to obtain
additional source of revenue. As the event manager for the Freedom festival, a rock roll festival being
held at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, NC; it is the intention of the festival to provide the
patrons with a safe and fun environment to enjoy their favorite music.
The basis for a good risk management plan is providing a risk assessment for the event before
determining how to address the possible risks. A risk assessment is a process to identify potential
hazards and analyze what could happen if a hazard occurs (Risk Assessment, 2015, para.1). Therefore,
the risk assessment will be used to identify the possible problems that can arise from alcohol. The
Freedom Festival event planning committee is aware of, and concerned about the risks and issues that
are associated with the availability of alcohol throughout the course of the event, so they plan is to
create a risk management plan to address these risks. Violence, alcohol poisoning, drunk driving,

The Sneetches Analysis
When we think of prejudice, we often think of racism. However, racism and prejudice are not
interchangeable terms. Through the phrase power plus prejudice, we have learned that racism, for
example, can only be achieved with power. One can only be racist towards someone else if he or she
has the power to do so. Meaning, is this person white or black? If they re white, they have power ergo
can be racist. Throughout both Mixed Blood Stew by Jewell Parker Rhodes and the story The
Sneetches by Dr. Seuss, the concept of power plus prejudice is portrayed. The story of The Sneetches
offers an accurate portrayal of society today. In the story, we are told that there are creatures living on
an island called sneetches. Some are born with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since Dr. Seuss uses strong words throughout the story, we can assume that the sneetches were either
privileged or not privileged and that there were truly only two options within their society. However,
at the end, when he uses positive word choice, we can assume that the sneetches living as a whole
society was the correct choice from the start. In the story Mixed Blood Stew, we are given examples
of miscegenation and how members of society with mixed race backgrounds are victims of prejudice.
Similarly to the sneetches without stars on their stomachs, mixed race members of society are often
looked at as lesser and not worthy of our time. However, we now understand that no matter what
background someone might have, we should always give them a chance without judgement. In Mixed
Blood Stew, many cultural references are made elaborating on this point. The one that sticks out to me
the most is the reference to Lucy, the oldest fossil found that shows human characteristics. The author
writes, Wasn t Lucy their mother too? (Rhodes) This reference is meant to enforce the message that all
humans come from similar fossils and should be considered equal. The entirety of Mixed Blood Stew
highlights the importance of recognizing that all humans are equal regardless of racial background. In
both stories, there is a similar issue present. Generally speaking, this issue is targeting a

Finding Zion In The Country
Finding Zion in the Country:
William Blake s Jerusalem
For the unsuspecting visitor to New York City, the notion of standing under the shadow of looming
skyscrapers, thrust into the pandemonium and din of the walkways, overwhelms and shocks. Yet, for
those more accustomed to city life, the disorder becomes normal, relegated to the everyday challenges
of modern life. Rarely in our busy and all too public lives do we take the time to recognize that city
life has all but removed any semblance of the natural world from our lives. In 1808, the world began
to undergo a revolution. Unlike the revolution of the previous century, this was not political
revolution, but an economic revolution, the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution ... Show

On the surface, the phrase simply references the cotton and flour mills that rose in to prominence
during the Industrial Revolution. These mills were one of the key achievements of the revolution,
representing man s ability to use technology to mass produce human goods. Yet, Blake saw that the
Mills also led to the repression and enslavement of workers, and perhaps equally importantly the
conquest of nature. These mills also represent the uniformity and homogeneity of European religion
and culture. The factory and mill represent the ultimate conformity, as men become machines, simply
cogs in the wheel of economic progress. Through out his life, Blake argued that the European
perspective on nature, individuality and spirituality often suppressed and stifled religious growth. For
Blake, industrialization and alienation from nature only serve to limit man s spiritual prospects,
casting him from heaven in to the dark satanic mills. After demonstrating the problems with the
current state of industrialized England, Blake turns to his focus to his solution. His goal is to force the
clouds [to] unfold, in other words, shift the focus back to nature so that England will be able to peer

National Health System ( Nhs ) Essay
National Health System (NHS) England (1800words) The National Health System began in 1948 with
the aim to provide free health care for the English thus removing health access inequities. This essay
considers two strengths of the NHS, being free health and locally responsive health care and two
weaknesses being the financial burden and unprecedented pressure on health care resources. One of
the strengths of the NHS England is residents receive free fully funded medical care that includes all
medical treatment, screenings including antenatal, dental, prescriptions, specialist referrals and
optometrists (NHS England, 2016). Furthermore, while being free at point of access, the NHS system
is an efficient, effective, care, safe, coordinated and patient centred system that was ranked number
two worldwide on equity (NHS England, 2016). Free healthcare supports Ham s (2010) claim that
being free at point of entry is a characteristic of a high performing health care system. The benefits of
free healthcare were that everyone was able to get the same medical treatment. The delivery of health
care through Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG s) is another strength. CCG s were created in
2012 following the passing of the Health and Social Care Act, to replace primary care trusts in
2013(NHS England, 2013). Their strength lies in their authority and purpose to provide health care
that is responsive to a geographical area and set patient number. They are clinically led, often by local

Research paper on the beatles
The Story of My Search
Everyone, Americans and Europeans alike, have heard of, if not grown off of, a generation and culture
started by an ensemble of four shaggy haired Liverpool musicians that the world went mad over; no
one can deny that no greater event impacted today s pop culture than Beatlemania . But not everyone
has heard the story behind the Beatles, who were they? How did they become the band and how did
they make it big? What s the story of their struggle?
Before researching, I already knew a lot about the Beatles. I knew that the band was made up of John
Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They started the famous British Invasion
of the 1960 s on American pop/rock music, and they started a craze that ... Show more content on

ability he bought a bass guitar and joined The Quarrymen (a pre Beatle, Lennon creation).
Next came the co genius of this phenomenon, Paul McCartney. Born on June 18, 1942 to Jim and
Mary Patricia Monin, Paul was the eldest of two boys in a very close knit family. He first attended
Stockton Wood Road Primary School but was soon switched to Joseph Williams Primary School at
Gateacre because their mother insisted on the best education for her boys. Paul used to love to listen to
the radio and was very influenced by his dad who played in a little band but eventually had to give it
up because he got false teeth and couldn t play the trumpet properly anymore. John s mother died of
breast cancer when he was only fourteen, which devastated the family and launched John into
spending some of his time writing songs, which would later be the pay off of his life.
George Harold Harrison was born to Harry and Louise French Harrison on February 25, 1943 in
Wavertree as the youngest of four children. Like John, George s first school was Dovedale Primary
(John was three years his senior, so they never met). However, George and Paul shared the long bus
ride home and soon became friends, both sharing a love for music. As a kid, George was often labeled

Contract Law and The Tort of Negligence
The area of law in this story is Contract law. A contract is a written legally binding agreement
consisting of typically an offer and acceptance, between individuals or companies, who have to fulfil
the legal requirements. The contract involved as stated, an offer , which is a communication of
willingness to carry out an action on certain circumstances, which are made with the purpose that an
compulsory agreement will exist once it is accepted, and an acceptance which is the ultimate and
complete agreement to all of the terms of the offer. There are two types of offer, which are; unilateral
offer , that is capable of being made to the world as whole Bowerman v ABTA, and bilateral offer
which is made to a certain individual or group. In this specific story, it can be seen that, there has been
a bilateral offer that is made to certain individuals which are in the same category of expertise; who
are Basil and David, which were offered the same job by Albion Ltd. As they both requested further
detail rather than providing a clear acceptance, it can be seen that the offer can still be considered as
open. It can also be seen that a short period after on May 22nd, there had been a bilateral offer by
Albion Ltd to Basil only, offering a job of becoming the sole distributor of the stapler with a 10%
commission. Albion Ltd makes it clear that, if an answer is not received by 31 May, it will be assumed
that it is acceptable to him. In order to get an

The Characteristics Of Generation X And Generation
Chapter Two
Introduction Purpose
Motivation is the word derived from the word motive which means, needs, desires, wants or drives
within the individuals. It is the process of stimulating people to action to accomplish the goals. In the
work goal context the psychological factors stimulating the people s behavior can be desire for money,
success, recognition, job satisfaction, teamwork, etc. (Bolles, R. C. 1975.) We have certain needs or
wants these terms will be used interchangeably, and this causes you to do certain thing s behavior,
which satisfy those needs satisfaction, and this can then change which needs/wants are primary either
intensifying certain ones, or allowing you to move on to other ones. People seem to have different
wants. In chapter two we take a look at various characteristics of Generation X and Generation
starting with their backgrounds (Bolles, R. C. 1975).
Review of the Literature
Generation X
Gen Xers learned independence early in life and turned it into a valuable hallmark as they progressed
in the working world. Just as Gen Xers were about to hit the workforce to make their mark in the
world, the economic decline at the end of the 1980s occurred. ( Managing generation X: How to bring
out the best in young talent, 2001) Suddenly the future looked crowded. Competition for jobs was
tight. The American dream had changed. For the first time in history, this generation was being told
that they would not be able to replicate the lifestyles of

Abstract
This essay aims to unveil the opinions, thoughts and perceptions of Greek fans as far as the causes of
violent incidents in the Greek football league are concerned. In the first part of this research project
some theoretical considerations about determinants of violence, crime and delinquency in general and
in sports are being analysed. For the purposes of this study I contacted a small scale case study
research project with 300 PAOK Thessaloniki FC supporters; in an attempt to determine the factors
that contribute to the genesis or escalation of violence in the Greek football league. The research

The drama of violence in sports and particularly in football is of major concern for the Greek
government, because of the 2004 Olympic Games that will be held in Athens. A great debate is on in
Greece these days, in order to institute measures for confrontation of football hooliganism. The
previous minister of sports Mr Lianis tried to implement the British model of hooliganism elimination
expensive tickets, denial of entrance and stigmatisation of fans that in the past showed aggressive
behaviour, severe financial penalties for football clubs that directly or indirectly tolerate these groups
of supporters but these measures where ineffective. Violent incidents still continued to occur in the
Greek football league. In June of 2004 the newly elected minister of sports Mr Orfanos started a new
scheme for confrontation of violent incidents in sports. But the same mistake was repeated for one
more time. The governmental bodies responsible for the implementation of this anti hooliganism
scheme Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Hellenic Football Association (E.P.O) did not take under
consideration the views and the perceptions of the Greek fans on this issue. As a result this new
scheme caused more frustration and disappointment to the majority of football fans. As Kalatzo, a well
known PAOK FC supporter states they always decide for us without us. This is unacceptable! Those

Background of the Study Diabetes mellitus is a serious metabolic disorder wherein the person has high
blood glucose level either due to inadequate insulin production or the body s cells do not respond
properly to insulin (Nordqvist, 2010). There are three main types of diabetes namely Type I (insulin
dependent), Type II, and gestational diabetes. All these types are characterized by hyperglycemia or
high blood glucose level. A person with diabetes may experience many symptoms such as high blood
sugar, high glucose content in urine, weight loss, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, infections, blurred vision,
and lethargy or coma (NDIC, 2013). Diabetes is continuing to be a major health problem in the world.

In the most recent study, the extract of G. procumbens was reported to produce significant elevation in
the fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels of normal rats, but a decrease in diabetic rats (Hassan et al.,
2010). Thus there is a need to further investigate the hypoglycemic activity of Gynura procumbens.
Statement of the Problem What is the hypoglycemic activity of Gynura prcumbens leaf extract in
alloxan induced diabetic male mice?
Objective of the Study The present study will be conducted to determine the hypoglycemic effect of
Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr. in Alloxan induced diabetic male mice.
Significance of the Study
Gynura procumbens grows extensively in Southeast Asia, where it is traditionally used for treatment
of eruptive fevers, rash, kidney disease, migraines, constipation, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and
cancer (Rosidah, 2009). The investigation of Gynura procumbens will allow the researchers to assess
its hypoglycemic activity. The results of this study can contribute to the knowledge about herbal plants
with antidiabetic properties. The information from this study may aid in developing Gynura
procumbens into a drug that will effectively lower the blood sugar levels in diabetic patients.
Scope and Limitations of the Study
This study focuses on the effectivity of Gynura procumbens plant extract as an alternative agent for
lowering the blood

Mars Dichotomy
Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun. Named after the Roman god of war, and often described as the

primarily of carbon dioxide.
Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and the second smallest planet in the Solar System, after

oxide prevalent on its surface gives it a reddish appearance. similar to 5261 Eureka, a Mars trojan.

Climate
Of all the planets in the Solar System, the seasons of Mars are the most Earth like, due to the similar
tilts of the two planets rotational axes. The lengths of the Martian seasons are about twice those of
Earth s because Mars s greater distance from the Sun leads to the Martian year being about two Earth
years long. Martian surface temperatures vary from lows of about at the winter polar caps to highs of
up to in equatorial summer. The wide range in temperatures is due to the thin atmosphere which
cannot store much solar heat, the low atmospheric pressure, and the low thermal inertia of Martian
soil.
In addition, recent analysis of the Phoenix WCL showed that the Ca2 in the Phoenix soil has not
interacted with liquid water of any form, perhaps for as long as 600 Myr. If it had, the highly soluble
Ca2 in contact with liquid water would have formed only CaSO4. This suggests a severely arid
environment, with minimal or no liquid water

Antigone Tragic Character Analysis
A tragic character is a character in a tragic play that goes through the three different stages of a tragic
character. The stages of a tragic character are hamartia, peripeteia, and anagnorisis. Hamartia is the
flaw in their personality that leads to their downfall. A flaw could often be, but not limited to pride,
ignorance, and selfishness. Peripeteia is the characters change in fortune also leading to their downfall.
This is the part in the play where the story flips to give the tragic character different circumstances.
These flips are mostly out of the control of the character and decided by gods or other uncontrollable
forces. Anagnorisis is the epiphany that the character has towards the end of the tragedy. This is when
the tragic character realizes that their tragic flaw has led to their downfall, and their change in fortune
cannot be avoided. I think that there are many characters in Antigone that could fit the criteria of a
tragic character, but there is only one character that fits the description of a tragic character perfectly.
Antigone is often perceived as the tragic character as the play is named after her and she is the
protagonist. She does possess some of the qualities of a tragic character, but not all of them. Her
hamartia, or tragic flaw is her loyalty to her family which causes her to rebel against authority. But if
you were to somehow ask Antigone if she would have been less loyal to her family if the result would
have been different, I almost guarantee that she wouldn t have changed a thing. Her change in fortune
could be when Creon decides to put her to death because of her actions. This isn t really a change in
fortune because she knew this would happen if she buried her brother. I do not think Antigone ever
went through the last stage of a tragic character. She never had a realization of her mistake that led to
her downfall. She was fine with taking the consequences of her actions, and found no fault in her
personality or decision. She might have ended the story with suicide, but there was not a moment that
she regret making the decisions that she did. Because of this, I do not think Antigone is the tragic
character in the play as one might argue. I think a character that

Girls can t be friends.... Girls are way too catty all they do is fight....Women can t stand to see the

lack of love women have for each other and that women cannot be friends no matter what. Well one
woman dares to say differently that women cannot be there for each other. Roxanne Gay takes this

the preconceived notions that women cannot be friends that support and work with each other. She

The Effects Of Divorce On Our Society
The United States is a country that takes pride in the fact that no matter what religion, race or sex you
are you can join together in the unity of marriage. Many people dream of growing up and marrying the
love of their life and having a family, but they do not take into consideration there are 2.3 million
marriages a year, with over 1.2 million divorces ( The Impact of Divorce on Our Society ). Divorce is
not limited to breaking apart the husband and wife; it destroys families, siblings and the future of the
American children. Divorces cause money, crime and education issues and an overall effect on the
children caught in the middle, which follows them into their adult life.
A $1,000 of taxpayer s money is spent dealing with the consequences of broken families ( The Impact
of Divorce on Our Society ). The amount of money spent in divorce procedures and in the long run is
astronomical. From divorce lawyers to child support, there is no denying this bonus part of life is
expensive. It impacts families as well as tax payers and the government. The median household net
worth is $132,000 for marrieds, $35,000 for singles, and $33,670 for divorced individuals ( The
Impact of Divorce on Our Society ). If people get married, they have a far better chance to earn a
comfortable living, but they have to stay together. If not, the taxpayers and government have to pay
consequences for divorces. If people took the time to make sure their partner was for life, then the

Shusaku Endo s Silence-Second Ending
Shusaku Endo s Silence 2nd Ending
A sticky drop of sweat rolled down from my greasy, unwashed hair all the way down into my old and
ripped peasant clothes to my chest. The guards gripped and squeezed my hand, making sure and
double checking once in every few seconds that I had no way of escaping, though I wasn t going to

katana, along with a whip tied around their waist. As I walked down the streets many husbands and
wives came out to see the wonderful sight. They threw spears, pointy rocks and leftover food at me,
and called my horrific names like stupid priest and ignorant padre as I walked down the main streets

What Is The Theme Of Salaam Brick Lane

about a young man called Tarquin Hall, who wanted to return to his native London. He used to live in

The street was a noisy filthy street where prostitutes and drug dealer was visible at the pavements. The

Racial Discrimination In Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
In the story Of Mice and Men, symbolizes many things such as racial discrimination. Crooks has a
hard time fitting in with the crowd because of his race. And having hopes and dreams nearly crushed
by reality. He might represent the racial equality in the past where the President didn t have a speech
about treating others with respect. Because he wanted to describe the inequality of races while keeping
the subtlety. As said by Crooks, I can t play cards because I m black, (Steinbeck 68). That might be the
reason why he s extremely lonely amongst the rest. Crooks has tried so much to make friends with
people, He lost all of his trust. He s gotten his name from his severed spine being kicked or getting hit

One may wonder why some individuals remain in the cycle of domestic violence even after instances
of abuse. Should it not be easy for an individual to leave a partner who is inflicting pain and stress on

domestic violence, the different types of abuse, and how these various phases contribute to the
continuation of the cycle. Domestic violence is often diagnosed by obvious signs of physical abuse;
however there are other unnoticeable patterns that one may not be able to immediately observe with
the naked eye. Furthermore, domestic violence affects not only those who directly experience the
abuse, but also those who are witnessing it, such as children (Behind Closed Doors, n.d.; Black,
Sussman, Unger, 2010). It is important to recognize the the less obvious markers of intimate partner
violence in order to break these patterns and work towards ending the cycles of transgenerational
violence. In the model for cycle of domestic violence developed by Lenore Walker (1979), there are
three phases in the cycle of abuse: tension building phase, acute battering phase, and the honeymoon
phase. The tension building phase typically involves verbal abuse and conflict over matters such as
finance and family (Walker, 1979). This first phase eventually leads to the battering phase, where
physical abuse begins. Part of the reason why individuals who experience domestic violence do not

Bill Foster s Falling Down
As a society, we often find ourselves entangled up in the midst of what our often clouded minds
perceive to be a chaotic and unforgiving world, but as one can only view the outside world as they
perceive themselves, equally, it can be pondered that the decay of humanity resides within one s
secondary reality (the outside world), to be only a product of the primary reality of which resides
within one s own mind? As what many people commonly perceive as a broken society and where
every fault is placed upon the system and upon one s own neighbors; upon closer inspection, one truly
has to ponder where the root of such brokenness, in reality, truly finds its beginning and what fuels
this intensity of which, only adds to such perceivably chaotic events? ... Show more content on

As Bill Foster purposefully trekked across the mean streets of Los Angeles, and through a series of
seemingly random encounters, Bill s pent up aggression slowly began to bubble to the surface. Upon
first glance, one might naturally assume that Bill was simply the victim of an isolated nervous
breakdown, or has his sanity, much like the world around him, been slowly unraveling toward a point
of no return? Falling down is a brilliant sketch of a relatable character who examines, contemplates,
and protests the many life events of which seem to play out in such a fashion that, just perhaps,
everyone can in some form association with, as it almost appears as though Bill has found clarity in a

The Learning Capabilities Through Video Games
The next topic we will cover is the part that we are most excited about. The console will have the
ability to educate and train students, military personnel, and police force. I will also be discussing the
various peripherals we have developed to aid in education and training.
We have gotten in contact with many different educators to ask what they thought about the learning
capability through video games. Video games are playing an increasing role in school curricula as
teachers seek to deliver core lessons such as math and reading not to mention new skills such as
computer programming in a format that holds their students interests. Some herald this gamification of
education as the way of the future and a tool that allows students to take a more active role in learning
as they develop the technology skills they need to succeed throughout their academic and professional
careers. (Malykhina 1) Most all of these educators had flashbacks to times when they played games
such as School House Rock and The Oregon Trail either when they were in school or while teaching
in their early years. We were reassured that they thought gaming could be used a pivotal tool in the
educating of young students. We developed the Ninesis Gaming System to link up as many controllers
as needed for a whole class; along with this we have developed a projector peripheral that links with
the system through Bluetooth that would be placed at the vertices between the wall and the

Similarities Between The Sun Also Rises And Robert Cohn
Minor characters are essential in creating a thorough image of the protagonist in a novel. The
differences and similarities that rest between the characters highlights key traits necessary to fully
understand the main character. In The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway, Robert Cohn is a
necessary element in understanding Jake Barnes. Cohn embodies all the insecurities within Jake, just
to the extremes. Cohn s inability to overrule his emotions and impulses for Brett with reason slowly
shows the same in Jake. Yet, Robert still holds true to his innocence and naivety which Jake lacks.
While Jake may despise Robert, they are essentially the same individual. Both individuals immobilize
themselves due to whatever shortcomings they believe they possess. Barnes focuses on his war injury,
assuming that this dictates that his life is destined for eternal misery. Cohn believed that he was
unworthy of a woman s eye, assuming that he would be lucky to receive a double take. The
differences lie in how the two deal with these insecurities. Jake internalizes everything, rarely
speaking his mind. However, Jake does have a lot to say. He criticizes nearly everyone that enters his
life; Robert Cohn receiving the worst of Jake s judgements. Additionally,he chains himself ... Show

significant difference is Jake s succumbing to a darker view on life while Robert possesses a very
innocent outlook. Jake s strong dislike for Robert most likely stems from the hatred of himself. Most
people have the tendency to loathe those who are similar and have similar flaws. It highlights in the

Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar
According to The Broadview Anthology of British Literature, There was much debate concerning the
proper place of women and the ideal characteristics of femininity throughout the nineteenth century
(610). The Victorian Era formally followed the reign of Queen Victoria in England from 1837 to 1901,
but the era is not so rigidly set. The ideologies, values, and mores associated with the Victorian Era
were present before Queen Victoria, and then followed into America and also lived sixty years past its
recorded date of death. In the United States during the 1950s and 60s, the idea of femininity was still
being explored, just as it was a century prior in another country. Women in the Victorian Era and in

In the Victorian Era, men served as the head and face of all laws; therefore, women were tyrannized
by men through the law because man and law were inextricably linked together. All women were
expected to marry, so most oppressions took place within the marriage. Once a woman married a man,
she abandoned a part of herself. According to the Broadview Anthology of British Literature, The
common law doctrine of overture ensured that a woman s legal identity was subsumed in that of her
husbands upon marriage. In effect, the law of coverture regarded the husband and wife as one person:
the husband (508). Women had no identity or purpose beyond that of her husband. After marriage, she
was stripped of her former self only to then function as an add on to his more superior person.
Additionally, with the power that deemed the male as the dominant counterpart, men were granted full
control of his wife s personal property and any earnings she acquired during the marriage (Broadview
Anthology 508). For a Victorian woman, to join a man in holy matrimony was to sign away all
autonomy.
Moreover, women received pressures from the law and from society: The idea that women ought to be
subordinate to her husband was not only a matter of social expectation; it was also

Empathy For Homeless People
People do not show enough empathy towards people who unfortunately are homeless they show
compassion but don t do anything to make a difference for them. Empathy is sharing the same
emotions and feelings towards another person. Because of the lack of empathy of homeless people,
society is not empathetic enough. Obviously there s a lack of empathy for homeless people because
they re not fortinet. Three to seven of those cities are in america. And in Salt Lake, Utah they held a 4

How Did Mexican Culture Influence Their Arts During The...
During the time of post revolution in the 1920 s, Mexico underwent an enormous transformation from
a mostly rural society to a largely industrialized and modern society. The various opinions of the
Mexican people and their modernized culture can be put into perspective by the artistic expression of
three famous artist Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, and David Alfaro Siqueiros. They began a
movement with wall paintings that focused on the political and social conditions in Mexico during the
1920 s and gave an in depth story of their point of view through their art. This essay will discuss a
moderate overview of the impacts and influences of their art during the 1920 s.
The Mexican Revolution began in 1910 with a political revolt against the tyrannical president Porfirio
Diaz. The civil war was led by a number of charismatic individuals whose personal political agendas
often determined the path of the decade long revolution. Accompanied by a group of intellectual
radicals, political leaders began to discuss a noticeable movement inspired by the revolution. In the

European realism movement in which artists used painting to demonstrate the immoderate conditions
of the oppressed working classes. Many of the artists involved were ardent socialists or communists,
believing in the power of the working classes and in the equal distribution of wealth. While the mural
project commissioned numerous artists from across the country, the influence and prominence of
Orozco, Rivera, and Siqueiros was so great that their work became the face of the movement. Each

Essay about Pagan Aspects in Beowulf
Scholars have argued about the religious stance of the epic poem Beowulf for centuries. Although the
man who put the poem down on paper, known as the Beowulf poet, was a devout Christian, the actual
poem itself is pagan. There are many clues in the epic that lead us to this conclusion such as the
numerous references to pagan symbols, namely the symbol of fate. Also, the central idea of revenge in
the poem opposes the ideas of Christianity. The poem also contains many breaches of the Ten
Commandments, which prove that the story is not Christian. However, the biggest clue to the
paganism of Beowulf is the scene that contains the burial of Beowulf and the building and idolization
of the tower, all of which go directly against the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no evidence anywhere that leads us to believe that poison is part of the Christian religion,
again emphasizing the paganism of the poem. Although all of these are important pagan symbols that
lead us to believe that this poem is not Christian, probably the most significant pagan symbol is that of
fate. The idea of fate ruled the lives of the pagans. Their belief was that you were born with a fate, and
there was nothing that could change this destiny. This idea becomes apparent in Beowulf several
times. As Beowulf is dying he refers to his leaving this earth as just part of his destiny when he says
that [m]y days have gone by as fate willed (Norton 1604). The idea of fate is called on again when
Beowulf asks Wiglaf to succeed him as king of the Geats. He tells Wiglaf that he would have given
the honor to his son, if he had one, but fate did not allow it. We see a reference to fate a final time
when Wiglaf speaks of Beowulf after his death. He offers that as much as Beowulf s people tried to
convince him to leave well enough alone, to allow the monster to live on forever, there was no
changing Beowulf s destiny. Beowulf s [f]ate, and his will, [w]ere too strong (Norton 1611). Fate is
clearly a non Christian idea, and its presence in the poem helps the case for Beowulf being a pagan
story.
A huge theme in Beowulf is the revenge ethic that all of the characters possess. During the time in

Mummification In Egyptian Mythology
A dark room with quiet voices chanting sacred incantations. Four jars rest upon a table, now full. The
smell of chemicals lingers in the air, and men lean over a form covered in linen. The stillness in the air
is palpable; all is silent except for the praying. Extravagant items, precious jewels, and coins litter the
table next to the form. These treasured objects will soon be with the dead around the sarcophagus.
After the mummification is finished, the body will be transported into a pyramidal tomb where the
spirit will travel to the Afterlife with his possessions. All of these steps were a part of the holy rite to
help the deceased on his journey. If one step was done incorrectly, the embalming would be for
nothing. The process of mummification ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is an accurate representation of Osiris: the King of the Dead. In Egyptian mythology, Osiris was
killed and cut apart by his brother, Seth, but put back together by Isis, the sister and wife of Osiris.
(Ikram and Dodson 103). He was then embalmed and mummified by Anubis, the God of
Mummification. Osiris was the first mummy and represented rebirth. The process of mummification
took place over three thousand years and came to a close at the start of the Christian era (Ikram and
Dodson 120). The words mummy and mummification are from the Persian word, bitumen, which has
to do with resin and pitch, or unrefined oil (Dictionary.com). This definition makes sense since resin
was used to secure the linens onto the body. The first mummies were unintentional. These ancient
Egyptians were buried in the fetal position, thrown into shallow graves in the sand with only religious
items (Brier 15). The desert sand and dry air naturally preserved the bodies, and the Egyptians
discovered that the human remains were preserved when the bodies were uncovered by the sand or
wild dogs dug them up. The Egyptians then developed a method to preserve the bodies of kings,
queens, and

A Comforting View of Death in William Cullen Bryant’s...
Chuck Palahniuk once said, The first step to eternal life, is you have to die. In William Cullen Bryant s
poem Thanatopsis , he does not mention eternal life or anything religious, but speaks about death. He
tells his readers that death is a natural thing and they should not worry about it. William Cullen
Bryant, in his poem Thanatopsis , portrays a comforting view of death. Throughout the poem, Bryant
encourages his readers by explaining that in death they are not alone, that death, like life, is a natural
process, and that they will be among some of the finest people who walked the earth. Bryant uses the
fact that we are not alone in death to comfort his readers. Through this, he explains that when people

In addition to Bryant s portrayal of death as comforting, he also depicts it as a part of nature. Bryant
explains that death, like life, is a part of nature, which was a loved and cherished aspect of the
nineteenth century. In the period of Romanticism, nature was an important ideal; it was viewed as the
source for everything. In Thanatopsis , Bryant uses nature as a comfort zone, saying that when one
dies, they will become a part of nature. He says that the bodies will be used to nurture the earth.
Bryant also mentions that we once were made as a part of nature and that people will die as a part of it
as well. He states: ...and lost each human trace, surrending up thine individual being shalt thou go to
mix forever with the elements. Bryant is saying that bodies will decay and eventually become one
with the earth and nature. Along with becoming a part of nature, Bryant explains that the deceased
people will be with some of the finest people who walked the earth. In order to make his readers feel
ultimately comfortable, Bryant also says that when everyone dies, they will be with some of the finest
people who walked the earth. By the expression finest people , Bryant means all the important figures
and contributors in history. He says that people will be resting in the same place as these figures are:
in the earth. He uses this to comfort his readers by saying that by dying, they

Hip Hop Is Widely Known As A Genre Of Music That Started

disc jockey which is also known as deejaying or turntabling, breakdancing, MCing or rhyming

items are part of the hip hop culture. Deejaying was an important factor contributing to hip hop culture

To become a DJ when hip hop was blossoming one would require to have two turntables, a DJ mixer
and a wide collection of disco records. Not only that, one would also require some kind of speaker
system to play the music out loud. The concept of DJing is to take two different or the same records
and find their break down part and play that over and over to create a beat. The break down part is the
part in the song where it is mostly beat focused and the people can really start dancing to the music.
This was discovered by a DJ known as DJ Kool Herc. According to an article titled The History of
DJing the author states, Campbell noticed something peculiar: the dancers grew ecstatic during certain
parts of the records the breaks (Adaso). Clive Campbell better known as DJ Kool Herc saw that the
dancers only came out to dance during those parts of the song. So since DJ Kool Herc was already a
DJ he decided to switch it up and play mostly the breaks. And people enjoyed that, so now at most of
the parties, people were dancing most of the time. Furthermore, most of the time the dancing at these
parties wasn t just regular disco dancing they were breakdancing. Which relates to what I mentioned
before, it means dancing to the break part of the song. There are two other terms that also refer to
breakdancing which are B boying and breaking. Most often people would break dance to

The Fall Of Humanity By Mikael Horton

headship accounts for the grandeur and the tragedy of human existence; it sets in motion the great trial
that sets the stage for the fulfillment of all things in Jesus, the faithful last Adam. The covenant of
creation is implicitly and explicitly taught in Scripture, integrating both the legal and the familial
aspects of humanity s natural relationship to God and illuminating the character of Christ s gracious

been subject to more criticism. Human image bearing was not lost in the fall (we retain our human

The distinction between righteousness before God and before others While Scripture (and experience)
credits unbelievers with a certain goodness, justice, and wisdom in human affairs, it is the

2. The distinction between natural and moral ability Humans possess a natural ability to obey God s
commands but lack the moral ability to love God and neighbor in accord with God s righteous
character; our human capacities and abilities were not lost in the fall but twisted and deformed in
unrighteousness.
Apart from redemption in Christ, humans are not truly persons who bear the image of God. While
Lutherans also traditionally teach that the image of God was lost in the fall, differences with the
Reformed are much more semantic than substantial. This delay opens up a space for God s own saving

the gracious promises of God to the patriarchs. The history of Israel s judgment for covenant breaking,

In the novel Slaughterhouse Five the author, Kurt Vonnegut, discusses some issues in society that he

this trend is some adults are finding themselves with the loneliness, where the children they once had
are moving away. These animals are feeling a void of loneliness. According to a recent survey done by
Stanley Cohen about eighty one percent of people do not consider themselves to be just a pet owner,
but a pet parent and treating their pets equal to their children.

Troy Paino Case
As President, Troy Paino has begun many significant projects at here Truman, including the
renovation of Greenwood school. Once funding is secured, this space will be renovated into an autism
clinic. Despite President Paino s departure at the end of the academic school year, him and his
colleagues do not see the motion of this project being affected. Currently, to ensure that his leaving
does not impede the autism clinic, President Paino has been lobbying to secure the funding for the

Multiculturalism In The Brady Bunch And Modern Families
What is Multiculturalism? Multiculturalism is the presence of distinct cultural or ethnic groups within
a society. Multiculturalism plays a big part in teenagers as well as adults life s. For example the two tv
shows The Brady Bunch and Modern Family have different cultural lenses and cultures causing them
to view multiculturalism as well as diversity in different perspectives.
The Brady Bunch is a show that came about in the late 60 s. The Brady Bunch is about a man named
Brady with three sons meets a woman named Carol with three children of her own. This man and
woman get married making them one big happy family, with a maid to help out. Living in a four
bedroom two bath house in the suburbs, having boy problems and sharing bathrooms. The Brady
Bunch family culture is having a maid to take care of the children. This can be a culture that the
parents received when they were younger, passing it onto their children. Another culture that The
Brady Bunch have is being close to one another. For example if one of the children are dealing with a
situation they would talk to their parent s or a sibling about it. The Brady Bunch family don t hide
their situations. They can also be labeled as close because they eat dinner together at the table like the
typical white american family. Another culture that The Brady Bunch have is having consequences for
their actions. For example in one of the episodes the oldest son did not do what he said he was going
to do so in return his parents

The Tragic Hero Of Antigone
The tragic hero according to Aristotle is a man who is neither a paragon of virtue and justice nor
undergoes the change of misfortune or leads to his or her own downfall or destruction through their
journey as the characters analyze their judgment error . In the play Antigone, Antigone is a tragic
heroine who stands up and fights for her moral duties to do what is morally right instead of being loyal
to the state even if cost her her life.
The plot of Antigone is quite predictable. But, it shows the audience how does it make Creon and
Antigone both tragic heroes in their own situation. The purpose of the play tells us that when a man
has a noble goal that is condescending, downfall destroys him. This contributes gnificantly to the play
because audience are able to know what is going to happen with hubris, leading oneself to its own
nemesis. The function of the plot is to make the audience think what is going to happen next in the
play, to leave clues into their heads to think what is going to happen next.
Antigone s major theme focuses on a strong individual suffering against the will of fate. In Antigone,
Sopochles portrays that Antigone is the protagonist who believes in being morally right rather than
following the law of the state lead by the antagonist, King of Thebes, Creon. The two individualities
and personalities of the characters made the play even more interesting because they both have
different beliefs, stands and they are both on different levels of

  • 2. The For A Good Risk Management Plan Alcohol and rock concerts often intersected over the course of time; plenty of concerts and festivals have either used alcohol as a sponsor or ancillary revenue. Alcohol and other types of concessions sold at festivals are considered ancillary revenue because it is derived from goods or services other than the primary service or good being offered (What is ancillary revenue, 2015, para.1). Therefore, serving alcohol at festivals is another way for the promotors, event managers, and the venue to obtain additional source of revenue. As the event manager for the Freedom festival, a rock roll festival being held at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, NC; it is the intention of the festival to provide the patrons with a safe and fun environment to enjoy their favorite music. The basis for a good risk management plan is providing a risk assessment for the event before determining how to address the possible risks. A risk assessment is a process to identify potential hazards and analyze what could happen if a hazard occurs (Risk Assessment, 2015, para.1). Therefore, the risk assessment will be used to identify the possible problems that can arise from alcohol. The Freedom Festival event planning committee is aware of, and concerned about the risks and issues that are associated with the availability of alcohol throughout the course of the event, so they plan is to create a risk management plan to address these risks. • 3. The Sneetches Analysis When we think of prejudice, we often think of racism. However, racism and prejudice are not interchangeable terms. Through the phrase power plus prejudice, we have learned that racism, for example, can only be achieved with power. One can only be racist towards someone else if he or she has the power to do so. Meaning, is this person white or black? If they re white, they have power ergo can be racist. Throughout both Mixed Blood Stew by Jewell Parker Rhodes and the story The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss, the concept of power plus prejudice is portrayed. The story of The Sneetches offers an accurate portrayal of society today. In the story, we are told that there are creatures living on an island called sneetches. Some are born with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since Dr. Seuss uses strong words throughout the story, we can assume that the sneetches were either privileged or not privileged and that there were truly only two options within their society. However, at the end, when he uses positive word choice, we can assume that the sneetches living as a whole society was the correct choice from the start. In the story Mixed Blood Stew, we are given examples of miscegenation and how members of society with mixed race backgrounds are victims of prejudice. Similarly to the sneetches without stars on their stomachs, mixed race members of society are often looked at as lesser and not worthy of our time. However, we now understand that no matter what background someone might have, we should always give them a chance without judgement. In Mixed Blood Stew, many cultural references are made elaborating on this point. The one that sticks out to me the most is the reference to Lucy, the oldest fossil found that shows human characteristics. The author writes, Wasn t Lucy their mother too? (Rhodes) This reference is meant to enforce the message that all humans come from similar fossils and should be considered equal. The entirety of Mixed Blood Stew highlights the importance of recognizing that all humans are equal regardless of racial background. In both stories, there is a similar issue present. Generally speaking, this issue is targeting a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Finding Zion In The Country Finding Zion in the Country: William Blake s Jerusalem For the unsuspecting visitor to New York City, the notion of standing under the shadow of looming skyscrapers, thrust into the pandemonium and din of the walkways, overwhelms and shocks. Yet, for those more accustomed to city life, the disorder becomes normal, relegated to the everyday challenges of modern life. Rarely in our busy and all too public lives do we take the time to recognize that city life has all but removed any semblance of the natural world from our lives. In 1808, the world began to undergo a revolution. Unlike the revolution of the previous century, this was not political revolution, but an economic revolution, the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the surface, the phrase simply references the cotton and flour mills that rose in to prominence during the Industrial Revolution. These mills were one of the key achievements of the revolution, representing man s ability to use technology to mass produce human goods. Yet, Blake saw that the Mills also led to the repression and enslavement of workers, and perhaps equally importantly the conquest of nature. These mills also represent the uniformity and homogeneity of European religion and culture. The factory and mill represent the ultimate conformity, as men become machines, simply cogs in the wheel of economic progress. Through out his life, Blake argued that the European perspective on nature, individuality and spirituality often suppressed and stifled religious growth. For Blake, industrialization and alienation from nature only serve to limit man s spiritual prospects, casting him from heaven in to the dark satanic mills. After demonstrating the problems with the current state of industrialized England, Blake turns to his focus to his solution. His goal is to force the clouds [to] unfold, in other words, shift the focus back to nature so that England will be able to peer through the clouded ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. National Health System ( Nhs ) Essay National Health System (NHS) England (1800words) The National Health System began in 1948 with the aim to provide free health care for the English thus removing health access inequities. This essay considers two strengths of the NHS, being free health and locally responsive health care and two weaknesses being the financial burden and unprecedented pressure on health care resources. One of the strengths of the NHS England is residents receive free fully funded medical care that includes all medical treatment, screenings including antenatal, dental, prescriptions, specialist referrals and optometrists (NHS England, 2016). Furthermore, while being free at point of access, the NHS system is an efficient, effective, care, safe, coordinated and patient centred system that was ranked number two worldwide on equity (NHS England, 2016). Free healthcare supports Ham s (2010) claim that being free at point of entry is a characteristic of a high performing health care system. The benefits of free healthcare were that everyone was able to get the same medical treatment. The delivery of health care through Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG s) is another strength. CCG s were created in 2012 following the passing of the Health and Social Care Act, to replace primary care trusts in 2013(NHS England, 2013). Their strength lies in their authority and purpose to provide health care that is responsive to a geographical area and set patient number. They are clinically led, often by local ... But not everyone has heard the story behind the Beatles, who were they? How did they become the band and how did they make it big? What s the story of their struggle? Before researching, I already knew a lot about the Beatles. I knew that the band was made up of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. He first attended Stockton Wood Road Primary School but was soon switched to Joseph Williams Primary School at Gateacre because their mother insisted on the best education for her boys. In the first part of this research project some theoretical considerations about determinants of violence, crime and delinquency in general and in sports are being analysed. For the purposes of this study I contacted a small scale case study research project with 300 PAOK Thessaloniki FC supporters; in an attempt to determine the factors that contribute to the genesis or escalation of violence in the Greek football league. The drama of violence in sports and particularly in football is of major concern for the Greek government, because of the 2004 Olympic Games that will be held in Athens. A great debate is on in Greece these days, in order to institute measures for confrontation of football hooliganism. The previous minister of sports Mr Lianis tried to implement the British model of hooliganism elimination expensive tickets, denial of entrance and stigmatisation of fans that in the past showed aggressive behaviour, severe financial penalties for football clubs that directly or indirectly tolerate these groups of supporters but these measures where ineffective. Violent incidents still continued to occur in the Greek football league. In June of 2004 the newly elected minister of sports Mr Orfanos started a new scheme for confrontation of violent incidents in sports. But the same mistake was repeated for one more time. The governmental bodies responsible for the implementation of this anti hooliganism scheme Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Hellenic Football Association (E.P.O) did not take under consideration the views and the perceptions of the Greek fans on this issue. As a result this new scheme caused more frustration and disappointment to the majority of football fans. As Kalatzo, a well known PAOK FC supporter states they always decide for us without us. Mars is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere composed primarily of carbon dioxide. Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and the second smallest planet in the Solar System, after Mercury. Climate Of all the planets in the Solar System, the seasons of Mars are the most Earth like, due to the similar tilts of the two planets rotational axes. Martian surface temperatures vary from lows of about at the winter polar caps to highs of up to in equatorial summer. The wide range in temperatures is due to the thin atmosphere which cannot store much solar heat, the low atmospheric pressure, and the low thermal inertia of Martian soil. In addition, recent analysis of the Phoenix WCL showed that the Ca2 in the Phoenix soil has not interacted with liquid water of any form, perhaps for as long as 600 Myr. • 14. Antigone Tragic Character Analysis A tragic character is a character in a tragic play that goes through the three different stages of a tragic character. The stages of a tragic character are hamartia, peripeteia, and anagnorisis. Hamartia is the flaw in their personality that leads to their downfall. A flaw could often be, but not limited to pride, ignorance, and selfishness. Peripeteia is the characters change in fortune also leading to their downfall. This is the part in the play where the story flips to give the tragic character different circumstances. These flips are mostly out of the control of the character and decided by gods or other uncontrollable forces. Anagnorisis is the epiphany that the character has towards the end of the tragedy. This is when the tragic character realizes that their tragic flaw has led to their downfall, and their change in fortune cannot be avoided. I think that there are many characters in Antigone that could fit the criteria of a tragic character, but there is only one character that fits the description of a tragic character perfectly. Antigone is often perceived as the tragic character as the play is named after her and she is the protagonist. She does possess some of the qualities of a tragic character, but not all of them. Her hamartia, or tragic flaw is her loyalty to her family which causes her to rebel against authority. But if you were to somehow ask Antigone if she would have been less loyal to her family if the result would have been different, I almost guarantee that she wouldn t have changed a thing. Her change in fortune could be when Creon decides to put her to death because of her actions. This isn t really a change in fortune because she knew this would happen if she buried her brother. I do not think Antigone ever went through the last stage of a tragic character. She never had a realization of her mistake that led to her downfall. She was fine with taking the consequences of her actions, and found no fault in her personality or decision. She might have ended the story with suicide, but there was not a moment that she regret making the decisions that she did. Because of this, I do not think Antigone is the tragic character in the play as one might argue. I think a character that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Lenore Walker Cycle One may wonder why some individuals remain in the cycle of domestic violence even after instances of abuse. Should it not be easy for an individual to leave a partner who is inflicting pain and stress on him or her? Lenore Walker s (1979) model for the cycle of domestic violence explores the phases of domestic violence, the different types of abuse, and how these various phases contribute to the continuation of the cycle. Domestic violence is often diagnosed by obvious signs of physical abuse; however there are other unnoticeable patterns that one may not be able to immediately observe with the naked eye. Furthermore, domestic violence affects not only those who directly experience the abuse, but also those who are witnessing it, such as children (Behind Closed Doors, n.d.; Black, Sussman, Unger, 2010). It is important to recognize the the less obvious markers of intimate partner violence in order to break these patterns and work towards ending the cycles of transgenerational violence. In the model for cycle of domestic violence developed by Lenore Walker (1979), there are three phases in the cycle of abuse: tension building phase, acute battering phase, and the honeymoon phase. The tension building phase typically involves verbal abuse and conflict over matters such as finance and family (Walker, 1979). This first phase eventually leads to the battering phase, where physical abuse begins. Part of the reason why individuals who experience domestic violence do not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The console will have the ability to educate and train students, military personnel, and police force. I will also be discussing the various peripherals we have developed to aid in education and training. We have gotten in contact with many different educators to ask what they thought about the learning capability through video games. Video games are playing an increasing role in school curricula as teachers seek to deliver core lessons such as math and reading not to mention new skills such as computer programming in a format that holds their students interests. Some herald this gamification of education as the way of the future and a tool that allows students to take a more active role in learning as they develop the technology skills they need to succeed throughout their academic and professional careers. According to the Broadview Anthology of British Literature, The common law doctrine of overture ensured that a woman s legal identity was subsumed in that of her husbands upon marriage. In effect, the law of coverture regarded the husband and wife as one person: the husband (508). Women had no identity or purpose beyond that of her husband. After marriage, she was stripped of her former self only to then function as an add on to his more superior person. Additionally, with the power that deemed the male as the dominant counterpart, men were granted full control of his wife s personal property and any earnings she acquired during the marriage (Broadview Anthology 508). Also, the central idea of revenge in the poem opposes the ideas of Christianity. The poem also contains many breaches of the Ten Commandments, which prove that the story is not Christian. As Beowulf is dying he refers to his leaving this earth as just part of his destiny when he says that [m]y days have gone by as fate willed (Norton 1604). The idea of fate is called on again when Beowulf asks Wiglaf to succeed him as king of the Geats. He tells Wiglaf that he would have given the honor to his son, if he had one, but fate did not allow it. We see a reference to fate a final time when Wiglaf speaks of Beowulf after his death. He offers that as much as Beowulf s people tried to convince him to leave well enough alone, to allow the monster to live on forever, there was no changing Beowulf s destiny. Beowulf s [f]ate, and his will, [w]ere too strong (Norton 1611). Fate is clearly a non Christian idea, and its presence in the poem helps the case for Beowulf being a pagan story. A huge theme in Beowulf is the revenge ethic that all of the characters possess. During the time in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Mummification In Egyptian Mythology A dark room with quiet voices chanting sacred incantations. Four jars rest upon a table, now full. The smell of chemicals lingers in the air, and men lean over a form covered in linen. The stillness in the air is palpable; all is silent except for the praying. Extravagant items, precious jewels, and coins litter the table next to the form. These treasured objects will soon be with the dead around the sarcophagus. After the mummification is finished, the body will be transported into a pyramidal tomb where the spirit will travel to the Afterlife with his possessions. All of these steps were a part of the holy rite to help the deceased on his journey. If one step was done incorrectly, the embalming would be for nothing. The process of mummification ... In Egyptian mythology, Osiris was killed and cut apart by his brother, Seth, but put back together by Isis, the sister and wife of Osiris. (Ikram and Dodson 103). He was then embalmed and mummified by Anubis, the God of Mummification. Osiris was the first mummy and represented rebirth. The process of mummification took place over three thousand years and came to a close at the start of the Christian era (Ikram and Dodson 120). The words mummy and mummification are from the Persian word, bitumen, which has to do with resin and pitch, or unrefined oil (Dictionary.com). This definition makes sense since resin was used to secure the linens onto the body. The first mummies were unintentional. These ancient Egyptians were buried in the fetal position, thrown into shallow graves in the sand with only religious items (Brier 15). The desert sand and dry air naturally preserved the bodies, and the Egyptians discovered that the human remains were preserved when the bodies were uncovered by the sand or wild dogs dug them up. The Egyptians then developed a method to preserve the bodies of kings, queens, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In William Cullen Bryant s poem Thanatopsis , he does not mention eternal life or anything religious, but speaks about death. He tells his readers that death is a natural thing and they should not worry about it. William Cullen Bryant, in his poem Thanatopsis , portrays a comforting view of death. Throughout the poem, Bryant encourages his readers by explaining that in death they are not alone, that death, like life, is a natural process, and that they will be among some of the finest people who walked the earth. In addition to Bryant s portrayal of death as comforting, he also depicts it as a part of nature. Bryant explains that death, like life, is a part of nature, which was a loved and cherished aspect of the nineteenth century. In the period of Romanticism, nature was an important ideal; it was viewed as the source for everything. In Thanatopsis , Bryant uses nature as a comfort zone, saying that when one dies, they will become a part of nature. He says that the bodies will be used to nurture the earth. Bryant also mentions that we once were made as a part of nature and that people will die as a part of it as well. He states: ...and lost each human trace, surrending up thine individual being shalt thou go to mix forever with the elements. Bryant is saying that bodies will decay and eventually become one with the earth and nature. Along with becoming a part of nature, Bryant explains that the deceased people will be with some of the finest people who walked the earth. In order to make his readers feel ultimately comfortable, Bryant also says that when everyone dies, they will be with some of the finest people who walked the earth. To become a DJ when hip hop was blossoming one would require to have two turntables, a DJ mixer and a wide collection of disco records. Not only that, one would also require some kind of speaker system to play the music out loud. The concept of DJing is to take two different or the same records and find their break down part and play that over and over to create a beat. The break down part is the part in the song where it is mostly beat focused and the people can really start dancing to the music. This was discovered by a DJ known as DJ Kool Herc. According to an article titled The History of DJing the author states, Campbell noticed something peculiar: the dancers grew ecstatic during certain parts of the records the breaks (Adaso). Clive Campbell better known as DJ Kool Herc saw that the dancers only came out to dance during those parts of the song. So since DJ Kool Herc was already a DJ he decided to switch it up and play mostly the breaks. And people enjoyed that, so now at most of the parties, people were dancing most of the time. Furthermore, most of the time the dancing at these parties wasn t just regular disco dancing they were breakdancing. The Fall Of Humanity By Mikael Horton In the article, The Fall of Humanity by Mikael Horton we learn the following: Adam s representative headship accounts for the grandeur and the tragedy of human existence; it sets in motion the great trial that sets the stage for the fulfillment of all things in Jesus, the faithful last Adam. The covenant of creation is implicitly and explicitly taught in Scripture, integrating both the legal and the familial aspects of humanity s natural relationship to God and illuminating the character of Christ s gracious work. The distinction between righteousness before God and before others While Scripture (and experience) credits unbelievers with a certain goodness, justice, and wisdom in human affairs, it is the righteousness of God s own character that is the standard by which all will be judged. 2. The distinction between natural and moral ability Humans possess a natural ability to obey God s commands but lack the moral ability to love God and neighbor in accord with God s righteous character; our human capacities and abilities were not lost in the fall but twisted and deformed in unrighteousness. Apart from redemption in Christ, humans are not truly persons who bear the image of God. While Lutherans also traditionally teach that the image of God was lost in the fall, differences with the Reformed are much more semantic than substantial. This delay opens up a space for God s own saving action, worked out in promise and fulfillment through redemptive history. God s call to Abraham in Genesis 12 initiates the history of Israel, which is primarily the story of a people called and kept by the gracious promises of God to the patriarchs. The issues that I will be writing about in this essay are; the glorification of war and war heroes , and the inevitability of war. He expresses his criticism on these topics using a number of literary techniques, which include; metaphors and imagery. When writing about war in Slaughterhouse Five , Vonnegut tries to show the reality of war and the people who fight in them in order to put a stop to the glorification of war and how the public views its soldiers. The Tragic Hero Of Antigone The tragic hero according to Aristotle is a man who is neither a paragon of virtue and justice nor undergoes the change of misfortune or leads to his or her own downfall or destruction through their journey as the characters analyze their judgment error . In the play Antigone, Antigone is a tragic heroine who stands up and fights for her moral duties to do what is morally right instead of being loyal to the state even if cost her her life. The plot of Antigone is quite predictable. But, it shows the audience how does it make Creon and Antigone both tragic heroes in their own situation. The purpose of the play tells us that when a man has a noble goal that is condescending, downfall destroys him. This contributes gnificantly to the play because audience are able to know what is going to happen with hubris, leading oneself to its own nemesis. The function of the plot is to make the audience think what is going to happen next in the play, to leave clues into their heads to think what is going to happen next. Antigone s major theme focuses on a strong individual suffering against the will of fate. In Antigone, Sopochles portrays that Antigone is the protagonist who believes in being morally right rather than following the law of the state lead by the antagonist, King of Thebes, Creon.
