Malice Murder Case
The role of malice in determining the level of criminal homicide will have to do with if there was or
was not malice aforethought involved with the criminal homicide. Because malice distinguished
murder and manslaughter, it was imperative for the courts to define that term. Framers of the Model
Penal Code considered malice to be so ill defined, that they abandoned the concept altogether in
distinguishing between murder and manslaughter (Brody and Acker, 2010).
So let us say there are rival gangs and one gang decides to retaliate against the other gang. It is
decided the one gang will go to the hangout of the other gang and shoot members of that gang.
However, in the chaos, a young girl that is an innocent bystander accidentally gets shot and

Evolution Of New Load Balancing Model For Cloud Computing
Evolution of new Load Balancing model for Cloud Computing Abstract Cloud computing is a vital
part of this new era IT world or we can say that it is a technology of new age which are used to
connect data and application from anywhere around the planet through the internet. Anything and
everything from servers to mobile phones can be connected to the cloud. It has also yielded up some
new companies which are providing consumer a large range of services. Due to this the upcoming
companies can now better concentrate on its major purpose and not have to worry about installing
their own servers and about its maintenance. They can be very easily outsourcing it to these cloud
suppliers saving a lot of capital and energy investment by them. Now, ... Show more content on

Dynamic schemes are more complex and use system information whereas static schemes are bit
simpler and system informations are not used here. Dynamic schemes get changed whenever the status
of the system gets changed. In our paper we have used dynamic schemes for flexibility. In our model
there is a main controller and balancer which gather and analyze each and every information. We
aimed at the public cloud in this load balancing model because public cloud has enormous nodes with
distributed computing resources present in many different locations. In this model public cloud is
being divided into several cloud partitions and when the load and environment is very large and
complex, these partitions simplify the load balancing. Due to its main controller the cloud can choose
suitable partition for the jobs which are arriving whereas the balancer for each cloud partition chooses
the best load balancing strategy Fig: Everything on the Cloud [16] Related works: There have been
many studies of load balancing for the cloud environment. Load balancing in cloud computing was
discussed in a white paper by Adler [3] who introduced the tools techniques commonly used for load
balancing in cloud. However load balancing is still a new problem in cloud computing that

Analysis Of The Book The Minstrel Show
Eleanor W. Traylor begins by explaining the fallacy in thinking that ragtime was the first and foremost
contributor to black theatre art in America. She argues that the source of all that can be called
representative American theatre is Aframerican (47). In other words, she elaborates, there were two
kinds of ceremonies and narratives pervasive to black theatre before ragtime. The minstrel show is one
example. The article stresses that the minstrel show was not invented by white plantation owners, but
that the minstrel show was a failed attempt at satirical imitation. The real minstrel show came from the
Afro American magic circle of creation (Traylor 48). In the same page, she argues that their African
American Minstrel show had its roots in African tradition, specifically, the Yoruba tradition. In this
tradition, the mask is wood until it becomes the mask in motion. Somehow, this mask got translated
into blackface, into a tool for hiding rather than a tool for revealing. The mask used in African
American minstrelsy would reveal the spirit of the mask wearer. Yoruba music would be wholly
original, unusable by their white counterparts because it wasn t wholly understood. The apparatus of
using the wholly spiritual and authentic to create an art that is fully American would evolve over the
centuries until black theatre became what it is during contemporary times. Traylor argues that it is the
only truly American theatre because it was created in America.

Persuasive Track Essay
After a long, challenging, and hopefully scenic walk, what better way to relax than by rewarding
yourself with some of the most stunning natural scenery in the world? But some vistas can t be
explored entirely by walking alone. One of these, though, should be a destination on every journey
aiming to witness as much of the landscape as possible in New Zealand. Walking near to the coast,
ramblers can discover sites not normally associated with walking, such as Milford Sound and
Doubtful Sound, along the famous Milford Track. Walking the Milford Track Milford Track, New
Zealand s most famous tramping route, is commonly known as the finest walk in the world , spanning
over fifty kilometres from Lake Te Anau to the fjord of Milford Sound. It makes a huge difference
when you decide to embark on your journey across New Zealand; walking during the peak season (of
late October to late April) is strictly regulated, with no more than ninety walkers allowed to start the
trail per day, and a time limit of four days to complete the track, moving northwards only. It is
definitely a challenging trek, but it s safer than the off season when some bridges over wetland
sections are removed to prevent damage. But walking the trail rewards a persistent explorer with
natural scenery that seems straight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once famously described as the eighth wonder of the world by Rudyard Kipling, Milford Sound has
cemented its position as the most famous tourist destination in New Zealand. Walking is enough to
bring you to the edges of the fjord, but to get the whole experience, and to provide a welcome rest
from your journey, touring the fjords by water can make a welcome change. It s also more exciting to

Big Ben As An Unbroken Reminder Of Inevitable Death
The clock was striking. The leaden circles dissolved in the air. He made her feel the beauty; made her
feel the fun, (186). An awful restriction presented throughout the novel, time is also bestowed as
completely necessary for society to function. Virginia Woolf uses Big Ben as a tool to unite the
characters whose lives seem so disconnected. To Clarissa Dalloway, the chimes serve as an unbroken
reminder of inevitable death. With each ring, she sends waves outward into the dimensions of time
and life, dramatically affecting those around her. Although disturbed by the sound of Big Ben, she has
also come to anticipate it in the same way as death. Even after she dies, Clarissa aspires to leave an
impact on the glittering surfaces of high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the parallels drawn between Clarissa Dalloway and Septimus Smith, Virginia Woolf is able to
use the notion of inevitable death to address the complexity of human nature and the erraticism of the
conduct in its process. By making the stylistic choice to focus on the internal reflection of death and
rely less on external dialogue, Woolf is able to portray the confusion and sensitivity of each of the
characters. Throughout the novel, both Clarissa and Septimus meditate on the poetic lines from
Shakespeare s Cymbeline, a funeral dirge intended to find comfort in the idea of death. Fear no more
the heat o the sun/ Nor the furious winter s rages, (9). In the eyes of the novel, this quotation initially
serves to remind Clarissa of her perpetual aging and inevitable mortality. Where death would
eliminate the obstacles of such a complex world, this heat appears as something wonderful to Clarissa.
In fearing the constant propulsion forward in time, Mrs. Dalloway often reminisces of the past. She
refers to her time at the age of eighteen with Sally Seton, her female lover, as a match burning in a
crocus, (32). The notion of romance as a heat filled flower emphasizes the passion with which she
explored her budding sexuality, bringing excitement and dynamic to her life. To a certain extent, the
fervor with which

Investing Formative Classroom Assessments
By my definition, a classroom assessment is a measuring tool used to guide instruction and learning
on subsequent lessons to follow. It s an opportunity to evaluate how well your students are
synthesizing information and applying it in the classroom. Keeley (2015) states that good assessment
practices are integral to informing teaching and learning, as well as documenting and measuring
student achievement. Examples of classroom assessments are broken into two categories; formative
and summative. Summative have been traditionally a go to for teachers with tests, quizzes, and
projects. Formative assessments are an informal evaluation or a checkpoint at which the teacher can
use observation or short surveys to understand where their students stand with the curriculum.
Formative assessments have become a huge component of my instruction practice. Our district
encourages the use of formative assessments rather than the traditional summative. Keeley (2016)
states that much of the weight has been shifted on the side of formative. I have used short surveys or
questionnaires ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

assessment I wanted to discover how comfortable the students were with each security and savings
plan. In order to accomplish this I designed a short google form that has every security and savings
plan we discussed. The students are to rate their level of understanding on each. I chose this method to
allow further development into each respective investment. The plan is to pinpoint the students who
have a mastery level in each investment. Ultimately, I will use this data to pair up students so that each
group has a mastery level group member that can educate the other members of lower levels within
the group. The mixed group will work on a project together allowing for different roles to be

The Wonders of Vitamin C Essay
We live in a society in which we are in a state of constant fear of diseases. From when we are young
we are taught repeatedly to wash our hands before every meal and to eat an apple daily. Moreover, we
are catechized on a regular basis to bundle up so we do not catch a cold or pneumonia. Likewise, our
doctors advise us to visit them annually to make sure we don t have deficiency related disorders such
as scurvy or anemia. What if there is a vitamin that could aid in preventing the aforementioned
illnesses? Would it not be worth a try? Consider this an introduction to vitamin C! Details on this
wonder vitamin are elaborated in the subsequent paragraphs! Several unique attributes distinguish

INDIRECT QUOTE. Lastly, the nutrient is easily found in the livers of beef and calves as well as in
seafood such as oysters (Nicolaou Montagnon, 2008). Next, we will discuss why vitamin C is critical
for existence. Vitamin C is crucial for survival for several reasons. For a human body to reach the
acme of its physical potential, it must have a daily intake of vitamin C. Deficiency can lead to a fatal
symptom known as scurvy. Likewise, iron absorption will be more difficult resulting in iron
deficiency anemia (Smith, Primio Humphrey Murto, 2011). However, this nutrient is essential for
bodily functions as well. Vitamin C is required for hormone production which is seen by the fact that
the highest concentration of it in the human body is in the pituitary and adrenal glands (Emsley, 2004).
Moreover, this vitamin aids in protection against free radicals and stress. Vitamin C is also imperative
because it assists in the growth of various body parts, including teeth, cartilage, and dentine. This acid
is integral for bone development and to heal fractured or broken bones. As said before, Vitamin C is
important in the absorption and metabolism of many nutrients that affect production of red blood cells
, including iron absorption (Smith, Primio, Humphrey Murto, 2011). DIRECT QUOTE WITHOUT

Still Alice By Lisa Genova Analysis
The book Still Alice by Lisa Genova has many text to text connections with Adele s song, Hello . This
song released in 2015, talks about the issue of passing of loved ones. In the first verse, when Adele
sang, [t]hey say that time s supposed to heel ya, [b]ut I ain t done much healing , relates to how Alice
feels towards the losses of her family members. While she believed that she had done mourning over
the loss of her family when [s]he hadn t shed a single tear ...and [the] loss she felt for her mother and

later she began to cry, and the situation again seemed as explosive and anguished as the first time

Essay On Shakespeare s Scribe Of Widge
Shakespeare s Scribe The main protagonist, Widge, was a worrisome scribe for the Lord Chamberlain
s Men. He constantly feared if he would be fired from the acting organization, as many of his actions
made him look bad, especially when he bruised his teacher, Mr. Armin. After his trip to earn money
for the company, he learned to respect people he hated and found a true family to stay with no matter
what. His journey was a wakeup call, changing his arrogant self into a well mannered actor. Ever since
the beginning, Widge had a distrust of Sal Pavy, as Sal had damaged Widge s shoulder by hitting him
with a blunted rapier. Widge never had the guts to face Sal, though; he was too busy fretting that he
would get in trouble if he laid even a finger on Sal, who would obviously have reported him. Sal said
mean things to Widge and tried to steal all of Widge s parts, which Widge had tried hard to earn. His
fake father, Jamie Redshaw, showed no moral support whatsoever, so Widge was alone in his feud
with Sal. His friends did not help either, because they too were afraid of creating conflict with their
mentors. Ironically, though Widge did not fight Sal, he argued over smaller things, like taking a ...

Latinos, Politics, and American Cinema Essay
Latinos, Politics, and American Cinema
Feature films in the United States influence American viewers attitudes on a wide variety of topics.
Americans attitudes toward politics are shaped by films, and specifically the politics of racial
interaction. The history of modern feature films begins with Birth of a Nation (1915), a film that
misrepresents the Black race by justifying the existence and role of the Ku Klux Klan in American
society. From this racist precedent, producers and directors understood that visual messages, however
latent, were a useful means of communicating a political message to a large audience. After this
epiphany, a myriad of films were made for different political causes. Most films had multiple
messages, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stam states that this discourse is beside the point because it is impossible to make a realistic film. The
fact that film watching is an escapist endeavor cannot be denied, but the problem lies in the fact that
modern Western society has to see it to believe it, and subsequently viewers associate films with a
sense of the real. Stam is right in saying that a realistic film cannot be made, but he ignores the fact
that the stereotypes he dismisses had very real political messages in the Welles era. The presence of
these racial and political messages in films cannot be denied because to a large extent they account for
the racist attitudes against Latinos that persist today in White mainstream America.
Later in film s history, the Chicano resistance movement sought to change the overall racist views
that, by the 1970 s had been embedded in the American psyche. The conservative stereotypes of
violent, sex crazed Latinos had a negative impact on the race s treatment, so Luis Valdez and his
cohorts presented a liberal brand of politics to counter this racism, using films that embraced the true
Chicano cultural identity.
The history of film is essentially one of representation of certain groups, or as the case may be,
misrepresentation. After America s short stint with Nickelodeon type movie theatres, full length
feature films became the norm with Birth of a Nation (1915). D.W. Griffith used the film to innovate
cinematography, but made few compromises to create a

Summary Of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
A society s myths and legends are much more than stories. They represent the values, fears, hopes, and
rules at the core of that culture. Due to the significance and complexity of morality and societal
expectations, these lessons of life are taught to children in the form of symbolic stories much like
fairytales. In his book The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis manages to encompass the
incredibly complex concepts of the Christian ideology, such as sin and redemption into a fairytale like
story. Using symbols and metaphor, Lewis creates the fantastic world of Narnia with just enough
parallels that his young audience is able to appreciate the Atonement and nature of Christ in a format
they understand.
In the Mormon church, the Spirit is often described as a burning in one s bosom (D C 9:8). Burning
does not sound very pleasant, it is reminiscent of the symptoms of a heart attack. Lewis compares
these feelings of the Spirit to something from a child s experience. When the Pevensies hear about
Aslan, they felt as if it had come from a dream with enormous meaning, simultaneously terrifying and
too lovely to put into words...so beautiful that you remember it all your life (68). Good and bad
dreams are something that kids have experience with. Because Edmund was poisoned by sin, the
mention of Aslan gave him a sensation of mysterious horror rather than a good feeling (68). This
explains the feelings of guilt one feels after doing something wrong, especially in

What I Save Money While Doing Laundry Essay
With three kids under 10 in the house, and a husband who works two jobs, laundry is an never ending,
on going chore. Every time I turn around I think the laundry has doubled. This is especially true in the
summertime when the kids go out to the pool a few hundred times a day. While laundry can be a
daunting task, it can also be a costly task. Here are a few ways I save money while doing laundry: 1. I
buy name brand detergent that is on sale and I have a coupon for it. It is my personal opinion from my
own observation that the cheaper stuff just doesn t do as good of a job as the name brand stuff. By
checking the sales ads I can usually find Wisk, Gain, or even Tide on sale. CVS usually runs Buy One
Get One Free sales on these items. I use two coupons and get a great deal. I try to never spend more
than $2.50 per bottle or box for name brand detergent. 2. Use the cap or the scoop that comes with the
detergent appropriately. Notice that there are littles lines or notches on the cup or scoop with a
number. These lines indicate the load size of the laundry you are doing. For many, many people they
just assume that 1 load= 1 full cup of detergent. Use the appropriate amount of soap per load, don t
just dump a full cup in there blindly. 3. I actually use 1/2 of the recommended amount from the
detergent cup. If I have a small load, I fill up the cup 1/2 of the way to line 1. If I have a medium load,
I fill up to the 1 line. I never, ever use more than 1/2 of the cup for even

are not experiencing guilt, shame or any other negative feelings related to sexual desires, it is not a

oxygen from constricting the neck during sexual activity or masturbation. The most used forms of
Autoerotic Asphyxia are hanging, ligature, or even plastic bags. Autoerotic Asphyxia is the leading
death that relates to sexual masochism. Self inflicted injuries or deaths it is unsure whether if a death

The Fall Of The Roman Empire Analysis
In The Fall of the Roman Empire , the author Peter Heather talks about the ways the Roman empire
conquered the many territories surrounding them and how strong of an empire the Roman empire was.
He also talks about the build up of the events that caused the empire to fall. Peter also talks about the
people that helped or was involved in the build up or the collapse of the Roman empire. Peter Heather
mainly wrote this book to inform the reader of how the European barbarians got turned into enemies
through imperialism; additionally, he mentions that these Barbarians were capable of tearing apart an
empire that ruled over them for many years. Peter, also, mentions all of the battles and build ups that
occurred throughout the Barbarians reign of power and speaks mainly of the battles that they went
through. Peter s argument is that the empire did not collapse because of social or moral collapse, but
that the empire fell due to the Barbarians. There were many interesting events that occurred in The
Fall of the Roman Empire . Peter Heather speaks of many Hunnic battles; he tries to explain how
military strategical the Huns were, and he also talks about the battles, due to the fact that the Huns
begin to become an issue with Roman Empire. He speaks of these battles because they had such a
large effect on the collapse of the Roman Empire. Peter mentions the Battle of Hadrianople; this battle
was when the Goths defeated their first Roman army. The battle made the Goths

The Negative Effects Of Media Violence In The Media
While viewing and looking at many articles about violence portrayed in the media, I noticed that many
violent images in the media such as movies, videogames, and music have inspired people to commit
large amounts of violent acts, such as committing assaults and murders. It is proven that children can

aggressive than others, and some may commit more crimes than others. Over 1,000 case studies have

parents took away their video game privileges. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold had a video game

that was taken away from them, they snapped. The violence in video games today is too much for a
child. Yes, video game companies rate them specifically for one age, but does anyone really follow
that?
When you tune into the news, how many of their stories are actually good news, involving happy
events? Most of them today involve burglaries and break ins, shootings, killings, deaths and so on. In
reality, many believe that the media distorts crimes. Media, such as the news, gives the impression that
crime is increasing, and becoming more violent than it already is. Wilson, B. (2012), also explains that
violence portrayed in the media also has an affect on children, they start to develop fear and anxiety
from the stories or images that are being portrayed. The media is very selective when it comes to what
it wants to show. For example, an individual news channels can also choose what stories are told to

Airline Passenger Bill of Rights
In 2006 the FlyersRights.org was formed by Kate Hanni because she and her family were stranded for
9 hours on the tarmac in Austin, Texas. They were not allowed to leave the aircraft and were forced to
endure the heat and smells filling the cabin from the on board lavatories. The passenger Bill of Rights
was not new at that time, FlyersRights.org stated The bill, which had been stalled in Congress since at

requires airlines to provide adequate food, water, temperature controls, ventilation and working toilets
to accommodate a 3 hour delay (FlyersRights.org, 2013). Due to Kate Hanni s persistence her
congressman Democrat Mike Thompson introduced legislation which would force airlines to allow
passengers to deplane after 3 hours on the tarmac. In 2007 Democrat Senator Barbra Boxer and
Republican Senator Olympia Snowe joined in bipartisanship to introduce S.678 IS Airline Passenger

woman trying to seduce a man into drinking their label of beer. Another concern regarding teenage
pregnancy is coercion. In California, more than 70,000 babies were born to teenage mothers in 1993,
are now charging men in their 20 s who get underage girls pregnant with either statutory rape or lewd
sexual activity with a minor. The Urban Institutes states that three quarters of the girls under the age of
14 who are sexually active say they were forced by their first partner to have sex relations. Media
attention focuses a lot on teenage pregnancy casting the unmarried teenage mothers as the source of
many society s ills. Illegitimacy is an important social problem, I believe more than crime, drugs,
poverty, illiteracy, welfare, or homelessness. The reason why is because unwed parents are the main

Ancient Christian Beliefs
Ancient Christian beliefs about Death and the Afterlife:
Most Romans during this time believed in many different gods and where known as polytheists.
Christianity in Rome started as an illegal act of rebellion against the popular belief of more than one
god or the gods. Christian believed in one god and that Jesus, a man who was gathering a large
following around 30AD, was the son of their one god. The followers of Jesus became known as
Christians. Christians spread the word of their God all around, teaching that peoples sins would be
forgiven if they became Christian. People all around the empire responded to the idea of Christian
salvation. Christianity quickly became the blame for most of Rome s problems due to them turning
away from worshiping the gods to worshiping only one, causing emperor of the time Nero to begin
persecuting Christians as he believed they were making the gods angry. Many Romans believed that
the empire was facing hardship due to the ever expanding group of Christians. Romans of lower social
ranking were more likely to convert into a Christian as one of Christianity s key beliefs was that
everyone was equal, so a social ranking system was of no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Burials were undertaken by the church and were seen as a charitable act. Bodies of Christians started
to be buried in catacombs that where located on land controlled by church. Inside there where wall
niches for ashes or floor graves for bodies. There were shafts that allowed light and ventilation inside.
The most common way of disposing of the body after death or most commonly practised was
inhumation/burial. The body would be lower into a grave, usually on church owned land and covered
with soil. The way the body was taken care of after the death and the way it is buried had no relation

BONOBOS
Species Origination and Geographical Distribution The bonobo is the most recently discovered great
ape in modern times. It was revealed in 1929 by German anatomist Ernest Schwarz that a skull once
thought belonging to a juvenile chimpanzee was in fact a new subspecies of chimpanzee known now
as the Pan paniscus, or bonobo. (Waal 6) During the Pleistocene epoch approximately 1.5 million
years ago, the Congo River was formed in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. (San
Diego Zoo 2) The river geographically segregated groups and individual chimpanzees south of the
river resulting in these chimps being reproductively isolated. Allopatric speciation took place as a
response to new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bonobo s are classified within the Genus Pan, Species paniscus. Pan paniscus is commonly referred to
as the pygmy/lesser/dwarf chimpanzee, and gracile ape. The name bonobo is said to be meaningless,
taken from a misspelling on a shipping crate headed to the town of Bolobo in the Democratic Republic
of Congo. (Primate Info Net) On an interesting note, some taxonomists suggest putting both
chimpanzees and bonobo s in the same Genus as humans, Homo, due to genetic similarities in the
species because both are humans closest genetic relatives. (San Diego Zoo 2) (Wildman Et. Al. 2003)
Physical Characteristics Bonobo s display a varied degree of sexual dimorphism, which is a
characteristic specific to either male or female sex. When comparing the two sexes, males are more
muscular and hold an average weight of 95 pounds compared to an average of 82 pounds and a
slighter built female, a 15 percent weight difference between them. Sexual dimorphism is also
apparent in that males possess a unique dental trait, long canines, a feature that females lack. Both
sexes are similar in that neither has a height advantage, averaging 2.3 to 3 feet in height. (Waal 24)
Bonobo s possess long, fine black hair covering most of the body and black colored hands and feet.
Their black faces feature wide, thick walled nostrils and long black facial hair that often covers their
small ears. Their head hair

Ancient Roman Art Of Entertainment
Ancient Roman Entertainment The art of entertainment held many significant influences within the
Ancient Roman society. Though it is known that certain means to achieve such spectacles were
vicious and cruel, it ultimately satisfied the Roman peoples need for pleasure and excitement. Public
displays varied from chariot races, musical and theatrical performances, to the more gruesome acts of
wild beast hunts, gladiatorial games, and public executions. Most of the Romans daily leisure
activities still remain in the realm of common recreational activities we still perform today, such as
swimming, hunting, fishing, and even gambling. While the inner city state provided nearly all public
entertainment events, citizens held their own interpretations beyond the outer city territories. Every
distinguishable form of entertainment within the society held distinct and important influences
throughout the ancient Roman culture, regardless of how they were formed or who cultivated them.
Displays of mass public entertainment took on a number of different forms, from festivals such as ludi
Megalenses, ludi Ceriales, to ludi Circenses, (chariot racing in the circus) Venationes (games with
animals, also in the circus, but later they took place in the amphitheater as well) and theatrical
performances, ludi Scaenici (Potter and Mattingly, 206). Although the games were religious in origin,
they gradually acquired secular and political importance, becoming more prominent as the annual

Reactivities Of Reaction Lab
Question: What are the relative reactivities of the metals in the experiment and how can we predict if
the reaction will take place? Hypothesis: Metals with a lower electronegativity than the cation of the
solution will react. Metals have different degrees of reactivity based on how based on how easily they
can displace the cation in the solution. When a metal reacts with water, it displaces hydrogen from the
water molecule and forms a metal oxide. The same applies to other solutions; as long as the metal
forms a better cation (i.e. has lower electronegativity) than the cation present in the solution, it can
displace it and react. These reactions are categorized into single displacement reactions because the
metal presented as an element ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the metal has lower electronegativity than the cation in the aqueous solution, then the reaction
proceeds. For example, magnesium strips were inserted into a solution of 0.5 M HCl. There was a
rigorous reaction awhere bubbles and heat were produced. This inference is supported by the
difference in electronegativity between magnesium and hydrogen, whose values are respectively 1.55
and 2.20. Magnesium has considerably lower electronegativity than that of hydrogen, and could
displace hydrogen from chloride to form MgCl. However, when an iron nail was dipped into an
aqueous solution of 0.5 M ZnSO4, no reaction occurred. This also can be explained by their difference
in electronegativity. Iron has an electronegativity of 1.83, but zinc s value is 1.65. The other
observations can be explained in this fashion. Therefore, the results support my hypothesis, and my
hypothesis is accepted for the experiment. The most obvious confounding factor of the experiment is
that I could not conduct the experiment myself and had to rely on images of the reactions. Some of the
images were unclear, so the observations I made might be inaccurate. Moreover, the images showed
only a single moment of the whole reaction, so I could not watch the whole reaction occur and
sometimes had to rely on my own intuition. For example, when I saw large piles of precipitates and
water droplets on

Babylonia Geography
Geography and climate influenced many Mesopotamian societies. The civilizations of Sumer, Assyria,

But Israel shared the same geographical features, and its culture that did not to value power, strength
or violence. While influential, geography does not determine everything: it is not destiny.
In Sumer, Assyria, and Babylonia, geography is destiny because of their powerful and warlike values.
In Sumer, they have to worry about people invading their lands. Invaders can come through the plains,
such as the Anatolian and Armenian plains. They need to defend themselves so they must have a
strong, powerful leader. In the Standard of Ur, it shows how the people that are powerful are higher in
the hieratic scale. This source demonstrates social hierarchy because of how the three registers
contrast to each other. It shows how the people need to be ready for war because of invaders that
might want to take their land. Two ways that warlike values are shown are because of a soldier and

register. Since it is easy to invade them, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of its features. This shows how the people were afraid and intimidated by their gods. You can by their

Racism For Dummies
How to deal with Racism for Dummies: AP Lit Edition With an ever growing and diversifying
population, race is a term that people have become more accustomed to. Many would say that as a
society, American citizens have taken steps to subdue and reduce racism. Others may say that the
government itself has adopted institutional policies to prevent racism. If such were to be true,
considering that those actions to fight racism have existed for at least a century, why is one not able to
see that those efforts to fight racism may be ineffective? Society for the past decades has built a
manner in which we assume that racism is wrong. Despite those efforts, hundreds of issues concerning
race continue occurring. Rather than taking perspective that racism is wrong, society should have a

Oryx And Crake Argumentative Essay
Genetic engineering or genetic enhancement refers to the transfer of genetic material intended to
modify nonpathological human traits (Hanna 1). These enhancements are used to modify human
embryos and during gene therapy. There are currently two different approaches to gene manipulation,
embryo elimination or genetic alteration. There is a choice of either disposing of an embryo because it
has a genetic defect or genetic alterations which are removing traits or enhancing them. Modifying
human embryos and gene therapy should only be used for medical reasons because it will reduce
health problems like birth defects or fatal incurable diseases thus eliminating the suffering and pain of
both the children and their parents.

Social Class Impact On Class And Social Institutions Of...
Introduction
For my assignment I was asked to discuss the two way interaction between social class and social
institutions of family, education and religion. I assignment consisted of six questions, how social class
impacts family, how family impacts social class; how social class impacts education, how education
impacts social class; how social class impacts religion, and how religion impacts social class.
All of the above mentioned questions are interlinked, which means that it effects and determines the
other questions answer. Family, education and religion plays a big role in the different societal classes.
The goal of my assignment is to determine whether your class has a different impact on your beliefs,
upbringing and education.
How social class impacts family
A similar rank or standing in society is based on their prestige, power, wealth, education, and other
valued resources (Sawhill, 2013). Individuals in a similar social class tend to have the same values,
leisure interests, and attitudes (Sawhill, 2013). We inherit a social position that is based on our parents
or guardians social class. Family resources affect the children s ability to practise opportunities like
higher education, however one can move down or up the social hierarchy in adulthood which depends
on one s hard work, connections, and motivations (Sawhill, 2013).
Social class affects several aspects of family life. Class variations exists in when people marry, how
parents socialize their

Indigenous Australians worked to maintain the fragility of the environment, following the traditional

Aboriginals also had their own system of law based on customs and beliefs, which worked like any

elders to children, as well as communicated through art.
Upon settling, the Europeans failed to recognise the Indigenous system of law, as well as the deep
attachment that the Aboriginal people had to the land and the traditional methods of maintaining it
which had been perfected over thousands of years such as fire stick farming. Consequently, the
indigenous Australians were considered a primitive race, with no obvious system of local law, and
Australia was deemed uninhabited land under the doctrine of Terra Nullius thereby, allowing Britain

Dialectical Behavior Therapy And Mindfulness Essay
Dialectical Behavior Therapy Mindfulness Mindfulness is another way of meditation. Meditation was
used to seek to improve one s psychological or physical health, or spiritual growth. (Brantley, 2007).
The history of Mindfulness comes from Buddhism and his search for enlightenment and a foundation
of the four noble truths. The Buddha teaching focus on the four noble truths which consist of knowing
suffering exists, there is a cause of suffering, there is cessation of suffering and there is a path that
leads to the cessation of suffering. (Van Gordon, 2015). The four noble truths were not only there to
represent the Buddha s experiential understanding of suffering, but also to express the truth (Van
Gordon, 2015). Studies of Buddhism and the Four Noble Truths teach us that there is always going to
be suffering in our life but to find ways to overcome suffering (Tsering, 2005). Over the years
Mindfulness has been a way to treat a variety of health related conditions anywhere form stress,
anxiety and even cancer (M.Orsillo, 2010). Practicing mindfulness does not relate directly to any
specific faith or religious beliefs. Mindfulness inside the practice of social work was implemented to
help those with suicidal thoughts and borderline personality disorder. DBT teaches individuals the
skill to not be judgmental. Being non judgmental can be a difficult skill these days because we were
raised or taught to have different thoughts and points of views (Brantley, 2007).

emancipation affected the lives of the serfs. He argues that the serfs economically were minimally

peasant households received less than the minimum needed for their economic survival. This forced
many to rent extra land from their previous owners and rent was expensive, and rates increased every
year due to a higher demand for land. He also points out that the peasants still provided the nobles
with the livelihood they previously had, but with less land. The freedom the state gave them, he

Cultural Immersion Reflection
Cultural immersion is an essential part of the education experience. It has been used throughout time
to allow people to understand those whose ideas and beliefs differ from their own. The experiences
gained through immersing in an unfamiliar culture allow the mind to grow in ways that are beyond
comprehension. Because our nation is advancing, and merging ides from other cultures, this process is
more important than ever. Cynthia Kratzke and Melissa Bertolo (2013) state that if we only teach
concepts and language from other cultures we are limiting the ability of future generations to be able
to work with other cultures (p.1). Cultural immersion is a way for one to reach a new insight they may
not have otherwise gained. Jesus Nieto (2006) says there are main goals to these experiences: 1) to
interact with people of a different culture 2) to gain insight into aspects of others 3) to be of a minority
group in a setting 4) to gain a new perspective on one s own beliefs and values (p. 77). Going into this
experience, I expected to feel slightly uncomfortable. I was born and raised a Catholic, and my
experience involved me going in and learning about the Muslim religion. While I am open to learning
about and experiencing new ideas I knew that this event might challenge some of the things I had
grown up leaning about. I also knew this event would focus on the modeling industry so I expected
this to focus on things like sexism and the stresses of being in the business. Some of this I could relate
to. There is this idea that women need to be unhealthily thin and look like models who are photo
shopped. For my immersion experience, I attended a talk by the first Hijab wearing model Mariah
Idrissi in the Phoenix Rooms. There were all different types of people here, ranging in age and cultural
background. Because this event was sponsored by the Women of Color I was part of the cultural
minority in the room.
Mariah is a Muslim woman who was selected by H M in 2015 to be a part of their campaign for a new
line of modest fashion. She was scouted at a shopping center in London, having just graduated college
with a degree in English Literature and History. After the ad was released, Mariah became an icon
overnight. So

  • 2. Malice Murder Case The role of malice in determining the level of criminal homicide will have to do with if there was or was not malice aforethought involved with the criminal homicide. Because malice distinguished murder and manslaughter, it was imperative for the courts to define that term. Framers of the Model Penal Code considered malice to be so ill defined, that they abandoned the concept altogether in distinguishing between murder and manslaughter (Brody and Acker, 2010). So let us say there are rival gangs and one gang decides to retaliate against the other gang. It is decided the one gang will go to the hangout of the other gang and shoot members of that gang. Evolution Of New Load Balancing Model For Cloud Computing Evolution of new Load Balancing model for Cloud Computing Abstract Cloud computing is a vital part of this new era IT world or we can say that it is a technology of new age which are used to connect data and application from anywhere around the planet through the internet. Anything and everything from servers to mobile phones can be connected to the cloud. It has also yielded up some new companies which are providing consumer a large range of services. Due to this the upcoming companies can now better concentrate on its major purpose and not have to worry about installing their own servers and about its maintenance. They can be very easily outsourcing it to these cloud suppliers saving a lot of capital and energy investment by them. Now, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dynamic schemes are more complex and use system information whereas static schemes are bit simpler and system informations are not used here. Dynamic schemes get changed whenever the status of the system gets changed. In our paper we have used dynamic schemes for flexibility. In our model there is a main controller and balancer which gather and analyze each and every information. We aimed at the public cloud in this load balancing model because public cloud has enormous nodes with distributed computing resources present in many different locations. In this model public cloud is being divided into several cloud partitions and when the load and environment is very large and complex, these partitions simplify the load balancing. Due to its main controller the cloud can choose suitable partition for the jobs which are arriving whereas the balancer for each cloud partition chooses the best load balancing strategy Fig: Everything on the Cloud [16] Related works: There have been many studies of load balancing for the cloud environment. Load balancing in cloud computing was discussed in a white paper by Adler [3] who introduced the tools techniques commonly used for load balancing in cloud. However load balancing is still a new problem in cloud computing that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Analysis Of The Book The Minstrel Show Eleanor W. Traylor begins by explaining the fallacy in thinking that ragtime was the first and foremost contributor to black theatre art in America. She argues that the source of all that can be called representative American theatre is Aframerican (47). In other words, she elaborates, there were two kinds of ceremonies and narratives pervasive to black theatre before ragtime. The minstrel show is one example. The article stresses that the minstrel show was not invented by white plantation owners, but that the minstrel show was a failed attempt at satirical imitation. The real minstrel show came from the Afro American magic circle of creation (Traylor 48). In the same page, she argues that their African American Minstrel show had its roots in African tradition, specifically, the Yoruba tradition. In this tradition, the mask is wood until it becomes the mask in motion. Somehow, this mask got translated into blackface, into a tool for hiding rather than a tool for revealing. The mask used in African American minstrelsy would reveal the spirit of the mask wearer. Yoruba music would be wholly original, unusable by their white counterparts because it wasn t wholly understood. The apparatus of using the wholly spiritual and authentic to create an art that is fully American would evolve over the centuries until black theatre became what it is during contemporary times. Traylor argues that it is the only truly American theatre because it was created in America. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Persuasive Track Essay After a long, challenging, and hopefully scenic walk, what better way to relax than by rewarding yourself with some of the most stunning natural scenery in the world? But some vistas can t be explored entirely by walking alone. One of these, though, should be a destination on every journey aiming to witness as much of the landscape as possible in New Zealand. Walking near to the coast, ramblers can discover sites not normally associated with walking, such as Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound, along the famous Milford Track. Walking the Milford Track Milford Track, New Zealand s most famous tramping route, is commonly known as the finest walk in the world , spanning over fifty kilometres from Lake Te Anau to the fjord of Milford Sound. It makes a huge difference when you decide to embark on your journey across New Zealand; walking during the peak season (of late October to late April) is strictly regulated, with no more than ninety walkers allowed to start the trail per day, and a time limit of four days to complete the track, moving northwards only. It is definitely a challenging trek, but it s safer than the off season when some bridges over wetland sections are removed to prevent damage. But walking the trail rewards a persistent explorer with natural scenery that seems straight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An awful restriction presented throughout the novel, time is also bestowed as completely necessary for society to function. Virginia Woolf uses Big Ben as a tool to unite the characters whose lives seem so disconnected. To Clarissa Dalloway, the chimes serve as an unbroken reminder of inevitable death. With each ring, she sends waves outward into the dimensions of time and life, dramatically affecting those around her. Although disturbed by the sound of Big Ben, she has also come to anticipate it in the same way as death. Even after she dies, Clarissa aspires to leave an impact on the glittering surfaces of high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the parallels drawn between Clarissa Dalloway and Septimus Smith, Virginia Woolf is able to use the notion of inevitable death to address the complexity of human nature and the erraticism of the conduct in its process. By making the stylistic choice to focus on the internal reflection of death and rely less on external dialogue, Woolf is able to portray the confusion and sensitivity of each of the characters. Throughout the novel, both Clarissa and Septimus meditate on the poetic lines from Shakespeare s Cymbeline, a funeral dirge intended to find comfort in the idea of death. Fear no more the heat o the sun/ Nor the furious winter s rages, (9). In the eyes of the novel, this quotation initially serves to remind Clarissa of her perpetual aging and inevitable mortality. Where death would eliminate the obstacles of such a complex world, this heat appears as something wonderful to Clarissa. In fearing the constant propulsion forward in time, Mrs. Dalloway often reminisces of the past. She refers to her time at the age of eighteen with Sally Seton, her female lover, as a match burning in a crocus, (32). The notion of romance as a heat filled flower emphasizes the passion with which she explored her budding sexuality, bringing excitement and dynamic to her life. • 7. Investing Formative Classroom Assessments By my definition, a classroom assessment is a measuring tool used to guide instruction and learning on subsequent lessons to follow. It s an opportunity to evaluate how well your students are synthesizing information and applying it in the classroom. Keeley (2015) states that good assessment practices are integral to informing teaching and learning, as well as documenting and measuring student achievement. Examples of classroom assessments are broken into two categories; formative and summative. Summative have been traditionally a go to for teachers with tests, quizzes, and projects. Formative assessments are an informal evaluation or a checkpoint at which the teacher can use observation or short surveys to understand where their students stand with the curriculum. Formative assessments have become a huge component of my instruction practice. Our district encourages the use of formative assessments rather than the traditional summative. Likewise, our doctors advise us to visit them annually to make sure we don t have deficiency related disorders such as scurvy or anemia. Next, we will discuss why vitamin C is critical for existence. Vitamin C is crucial for survival for several reasons. For a human body to reach the acme of its physical potential, it must have a daily intake of vitamin C. Deficiency can lead to a fatal symptom known as scurvy. Likewise, iron absorption will be more difficult resulting in iron deficiency anemia (Smith, Primio Humphrey Murto, 2011). However, this nutrient is essential for bodily functions as well. Vitamin C is required for hormone production which is seen by the fact that the highest concentration of it in the human body is in the pituitary and adrenal glands (Emsley, 2004). Moreover, this vitamin aids in protection against free radicals and stress. Vitamin C is also imperative because it assists in the growth of various body parts, including teeth, cartilage, and dentine. This acid is integral for bone development and to heal fractured or broken bones. As said before, Vitamin C is important in the absorption and metabolism of many nutrients that affect production of red blood cells , including iron absorption (Smith, Primio, Humphrey Murto, 2011). • 10. Essay On Shakespeare s Scribe Of Widge Shakespeare s Scribe The main protagonist, Widge, was a worrisome scribe for the Lord Chamberlain s Men. He constantly feared if he would be fired from the acting organization, as many of his actions made him look bad, especially when he bruised his teacher, Mr. Armin. After his trip to earn money for the company, he learned to respect people he hated and found a true family to stay with no matter what. His journey was a wakeup call, changing his arrogant self into a well mannered actor. Ever since the beginning, Widge had a distrust of Sal Pavy, as Sal had damaged Widge s shoulder by hitting him with a blunted rapier. Widge never had the guts to face Sal, though; he was too busy fretting that he would get in trouble if he laid even a finger on Sal, who would obviously have reported him. Sal said mean things to Widge and tried to steal all of Widge s parts, which Widge had tried hard to earn. His fake father, Jamie Redshaw, showed no moral support whatsoever, so Widge was alone in his feud with Sal. His friends did not help either, because they too were afraid of creating conflict with their mentors. Ironically, though Widge did not fight Sal, he argued over smaller things, like taking a ... • 11. Latinos, Politics, and American Cinema Essay Latinos, Politics, and American Cinema Feature films in the United States influence American viewers attitudes on a wide variety of topics. Americans attitudes toward politics are shaped by films, and specifically the politics of racial interaction. The history of modern feature films begins with Birth of a Nation (1915), a film that misrepresents the Black race by justifying the existence and role of the Ku Klux Klan in American society. From this racist precedent, producers and directors understood that visual messages, however latent, were a useful means of communicating a political message to a large audience. After this epiphany, a myriad of films were made for different political causes. Most films had multiple messages, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stam states that this discourse is beside the point because it is impossible to make a realistic film. The fact that film watching is an escapist endeavor cannot be denied, but the problem lies in the fact that modern Western society has to see it to believe it, and subsequently viewers associate films with a sense of the real. Stam is right in saying that a realistic film cannot be made, but he ignores the fact that the stereotypes he dismisses had very real political messages in the Welles era. The presence of these racial and political messages in films cannot be denied because to a large extent they account for the racist attitudes against Latinos that persist today in White mainstream America. Later in film s history, the Chicano resistance movement sought to change the overall racist views that, by the 1970 s had been embedded in the American psyche. The conservative stereotypes of violent, sex crazed Latinos had a negative impact on the race s treatment, so Luis Valdez and his cohorts presented a liberal brand of politics to counter this racism, using films that embraced the true Chicano cultural identity. The history of film is essentially one of representation of certain groups, or as the case may be, misrepresentation. After America s short stint with Nickelodeon type movie theatres, full length feature films became the norm with Birth of a Nation (1915). D.W. • 13. Summary Of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe A society s myths and legends are much more than stories. They represent the values, fears, hopes, and rules at the core of that culture. Due to the significance and complexity of morality and societal expectations, these lessons of life are taught to children in the form of symbolic stories much like fairytales. In his book The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis manages to encompass the incredibly complex concepts of the Christian ideology, such as sin and redemption into a fairytale like story. Using symbols and metaphor, Lewis creates the fantastic world of Narnia with just enough parallels that his young audience is able to appreciate the Atonement and nature of Christ in a format they understand. In the Mormon church, the Spirit is often described as a burning in one s bosom (D C 9:8). Burning does not sound very pleasant, it is reminiscent of the symptoms of a heart attack. Lewis compares these feelings of the Spirit to something from a child s experience. When the Pevensies hear about Aslan, they felt as if it had come from a dream with enormous meaning, simultaneously terrifying and too lovely to put into words...so beautiful that you remember it all your life (68). Good and bad dreams are something that kids have experience with. Because Edmund was poisoned by sin, the mention of Aslan gave him a sensation of mysterious horror rather than a good feeling (68). Every time I turn around I think the laundry has doubled. This is especially true in the summertime when the kids go out to the pool a few hundred times a day. While laundry can be a daunting task, it can also be a costly task. Here are a few ways I save money while doing laundry: 1. I buy name brand detergent that is on sale and I have a coupon for it. It is my personal opinion from my own observation that the cheaper stuff just doesn t do as good of a job as the name brand stuff. By checking the sales ads I can usually find Wisk, Gain, or even Tide on sale. CVS usually runs Buy One Get One Free sales on these items. I use two coupons and get a great deal. I try to never spend more than $2.50 per bottle or box for name brand detergent. 2. Use the cap or the scoop that comes with the detergent appropriately. Notice that there are littles lines or notches on the cup or scoop with a number. These lines indicate the load size of the laundry you are doing. For many, many people they just assume that 1 load= 1 full cup of detergent. Use the appropriate amount of soap per load, don t just dump a full cup in there blindly. 3. I actually use 1/2 of the recommended amount from the detergent cup. If I have a small load, I fill up the cup 1/2 of the way to line 1. If I have a medium load, I fill up to the 1 line. Hypothesis: Metals with a lower electronegativity than the cation of the solution will react. Metals have different degrees of reactivity based on how based on how easily they can displace the cation in the solution. When a metal reacts with water, it displaces hydrogen from the water molecule and forms a metal oxide. The same applies to other solutions; as long as the metal forms a better cation (i.e. has lower electronegativity) than the cation present in the solution, it can displace it and react. These reactions are categorized into single displacement reactions because the metal presented as an element ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the metal has lower electronegativity than the cation in the aqueous solution, then the reaction proceeds. For example, magnesium strips were inserted into a solution of 0.5 M HCl. There was a rigorous reaction awhere bubbles and heat were produced. This inference is supported by the difference in electronegativity between magnesium and hydrogen, whose values are respectively 1.55 and 2.20. Magnesium has considerably lower electronegativity than that of hydrogen, and could displace hydrogen from chloride to form MgCl. However, when an iron nail was dipped into an aqueous solution of 0.5 M ZnSO4, no reaction occurred. This also can be explained by their difference in electronegativity. Iron has an electronegativity of 1.83, but zinc s value is 1.65. The other observations can be explained in this fashion. Therefore, the results support my hypothesis, and my hypothesis is accepted for the experiment. The most obvious confounding factor of the experiment is that I could not conduct the experiment myself and had to rely on images of the reactions. Some of the images were unclear, so the observations I made might be inaccurate. For decades, the racism was viewed along a motif that it is wrongful. It is present in law, literature, arts, and simple morals. Many of those steps that society has taken focuses upon highlighting the damage that racism causes to both an individual and society, yet, controversial racial issues occur at an alarming rate. The first recorded major effort to subdue racism was the 14th amendment, being approximately 150 years. Since then, this direction has integrated into society in which people are taught that treating people differently according to race is wrongful. There is a choice of either disposing of an embryo because it has a genetic defect or genetic alterations which are removing traits or enhancing them. Another process I learned a lot about was the Budget Execution Review and how to properly forecast funding shortfalls. He argues that the serfs economically were minimally better following 1861. Because the nobles controlled the amount of land they received, 99.2% of peasant households received less than the minimum needed for their economic survival. This forced many to rent extra land from their previous owners and rent was expensive, and rates increased every year due to a higher demand for land. He also points out that the peasants still provided the nobles with the livelihood they previously had, but with less land. The freedom the state gave them, he argues, was not true freedom as the situation the reforms created ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Cultural Immersion Reflection Cultural immersion is an essential part of the education experience. It has been used throughout time to allow people to understand those whose ideas and beliefs differ from their own. The experiences gained through immersing in an unfamiliar culture allow the mind to grow in ways that are beyond comprehension. Because our nation is advancing, and merging ides from other cultures, this process is more important than ever. Cynthia Kratzke and Melissa Bertolo (2013) state that if we only teach concepts and language from other cultures we are limiting the ability of future generations to be able to work with other cultures (p.1). Cultural immersion is a way for one to reach a new insight they may not have otherwise gained. Jesus Nieto (2006) says there are main goals to these experiences: 1) to interact with people of a different culture 2) to gain insight into aspects of others 3) to be of a minority group in a setting 4) to gain a new perspective on one s own beliefs and values (p. 77). Going into this experience, I expected to feel slightly uncomfortable. I was born and raised a Catholic, and my experience involved me going in and learning about the Muslim religion. While I am open to learning about and experiencing new ideas I knew that this event might challenge some of the things I had grown up leaning about. I also knew this event would focus on the modeling industry so I expected this to focus on things like sexism and the stresses of being in the business. Some of this I could relate to. There is this idea that women need to be unhealthily thin and look like models who are photo shopped. For my immersion experience, I attended a talk by the first Hijab wearing model Mariah Idrissi in the Phoenix Rooms. There were all different types of people here, ranging in age and cultural background. Because this event was sponsored by the Women of Color I was part of the cultural minority in the room. Mariah is a Muslim woman who was selected by H M in 2015 to be a part of their campaign for a new line of modest fashion. She was scouted at a shopping center in London, having just graduated college with a degree in English Literature and History. After the ad was released, Mariah became an icon overnight. So ...
