Federal Food Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938
Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938
According to, http://www.toxicology.org/gp/fda.asp, the Society of Toxicology website, in 1937
the Massengill pharmaceutical company dispersed Elixir Sulfanilamide. This drug was prescribed
generally to anyone who had symptoms of strep throat. Elixir Sulfanilamide contains diethylene
glycol, which is a chemical equivalent of antifreeze. There were 107 documented deaths, involving
many children, because of the lack in regulations. The Pure Food and Drug Act was deemed to
insufficient to protect the public. This tragedy was the critical motivation for the creation of the
Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

How Does The Cleveland Clinic Affect The Community
With the Cleveland Clinic being nonprofit, they really make sure to engage with the community by
getting involved in a broad range of medical research, educational training programs, and supporting
the community health initiatives (Community Impact 2017 | Cleveland Clinic). The Clinic is
absolutely making an impact in the community, as more companies are developing and gradually
growing around them. The bigger challenge is that the community is still very much poor and
unhealthy. According to (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), over one third of the
population that live around the hospitalhave diabetes. Another big part of the population has
Cancer, Heart Disease, and Kidney disease. The hospital can continue to add new things and
make changes, but it has no control of what is happening to the city around them. The clinic is
ranked second in the world report hospital rankings. It employs over 50,000 people in just the
Ohio clinic. They also spend millions of dollars on additional education for their physicians, and
also with making community investments. They have also put over $500,000 into a program to
get rid of run down homes within the neighborhood. One of the clinics most significant investment
was for the Langston Hughes Education Center. They offer free exercise equipment and adult day
care. (By: Dan Diamond/07/17/17/ The Clinic is a global success story, but it s host community
remains mired in poverty) So when it comes to economy impact, they truly do go over and beyond
and put out quite a bit of money and support other organizations. Regarding the Healthcare Reform,
the clinic is partnering with Oscar Health regarding insurance. The plans are going to be sold on the
Ohio health insuranceexchange starting in 2018. According to (CFO Steve Glass), the clinic and
Oscar Health are going to offer a different and unique approach. This will allow patients to navigate
the user friendly insurance systems, which will get them the highest quality of care at a very
affordable rate. In regard to regulations within the clinic, the government and community relations
work at all different levels to ensure regulations are implanted at the best interest for the clinic. They

Potential Of Innocence In Dracula
It seems a simple task to create the potential of fear. People have grown to fear mainly similar
things and ultimately anything that endangers the innocent part of human kind. Sadly, there is only
a slight hint of true innocence that exists in us as humans. How come fear intrueges us, it is not
the knowing of its unrealness, because for a moment there, it seems real. Therefore it is an art,
how can one be freigthened and fascinated in its most beautiful way. How is it conjured, not just
the fear of actual danger, but the art of darkness.
In analyzing the freigthning or sinister parts of four artistic works introducing us to darkness there
we many things to point out, as there obviously is limitation to analyzing within a research of a text,

This is because such descriptions make the event seem so vivid as if you are living it, af if you
are not sitting on the couch you are sitting on because it takes too much times to think about it to
be aware of the reality that is happening outside of the book. There were little decorations in the
passages, perhaps because scene passages represented the essence of the novel, the darkest parts of
it, whereas it needs to be concrete, no unnecessary fuss like alliteration and other literary devices
that are found much more in other kinds of novels and other parts of horror novels, especially
Dracula. Dracula is much older than IT, the social context of the book depicts a world of
differences. Stoker made extreme use of langual flattery but as there were dangerous conflicts, he
needed to leave some of that out to ensure that the reader s attention would not fade. The boat
scene was obviously a different technique but that was because it was written as a to the point
writing captain who suddenly had so much more to describe, it was also needed for later
clarification to enclose what happened on the boat. Stephen King, to me, is a master of vocabulary
because of his grand choice of words to describe even the tiniest things without boring the reader.
This makes his writing so vivid, he describes everything as if he was standing there as it happened,
but that does not make it

The Punk Rock Movement
1. INTRODUCTION
This report uses Heding et al. s seven approaches to branding (2009) to investigate John Lydon s
relevance, strengths and weaknesses as a brand. John Lydon also known as Johnny Rotten is a
singer, musician and songwriter, famous for being the lead singer of the Sex Pistols (1975 1978)
and of the Public Image Ltd (PiL) (1978 present). This report mainly focuses on Lydon s
experience in PiL, which represents the longest part of his career compared to Sex Pistols
relatively short life.
Although the literature recognises that artists can produce powerful brands, the separation between
art and business has partly obscured the potential developments of branding studies in the context of
the cultural industries (Schroeder, 2006, 1291 1292). Considered the pioneer of the Punk Rock
movement and one of the most influential and controversial musicians of all times, Lydon
represents an interesting case study to offer new insights in the applicability of branding theories to
artists.
The main body of this report contains seven chapters, one for each of the seven approaches
identified by Heding et al. (2009, 22 25): the identity approach, the personality approach, the
consumer based approach, the economic approach, the relational approach, the community
approach and the cultural approach. Using their model and a great variety of academic
frameworks has allowed to deliver a comprehensive analysis of John Lydon s brand. The discussion
section reveals the

Who the Fools Are in Gimpel the Fool Essay
Who the Fools Are in Gimpel the Fool
When reading through Gimpel the Fool , the reader asks who the fools really are? Throughout
this paper I will use the psychological approach. I will use this to show that Gimpel s character
grows more into a successful person rather than a fool as everyone knows him to be.
Gimpel The Fool is a story written by Isaac Bashevis Singer. This story is about a simple man
named Gimpel. He is measured by many to be a fool because he is naive and easily taking
advantage of; constantly falling for tricks layed out by the townspeople. Gimpel is also easily
persuaded by the townspeople; they end up persuading him into marrying Elka, who is known as a
whore.
The author s point of view is what he is trying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When he is right they belittle him and talk to him as if he were wrong, Gimpel would say Ah
you re kidding! (301). That means trouble for him; the townspeople came back and say, What do
you mean! You want to call everyone a liar? (301). Gimpel has no way of winning with the
townspeople. It is just better and easier for him to go along with what they have to say so he would
not have to have an argument. Gimpel also told himself that nothing is really impossible.
Gimpel the Fool is a unique story in which you find out about people and how they react toward
each other. In this story, Gimpel is not known as a very bright man, just as a fool. This story is
written in a first person point of view, the narrator is the main character Gimpel.
In this story the town symbolizes evil. The town s evil is brought out through the townspeople
with the way they treat Gimpel. The bakery symbolizes good; it is Gimpel s success. When
reading this story I chose to use the psychological approach. I chose this approach because of the
different type of personalities we are able to see throughout the story. Gimpel s personality type
is known as an introvert. He is not very sociable. When he is with people they always just treat
him as a fool rather than a person, this is why Gimpel chose not to be sociable. Gimpel would be
more sociable with people if they had treated him with more respect. All the townspeople including
Elka and the Rabbi were extroverts: they all

I found an article called Five Reasons US Gun Control Won t Happen . It caught my eye and I
decided that it would maybe help me find some useful information for this paper. The first
reason is because of the NRA. The NRA is a group of over 5 million people and play a big role in
politics. They have an overall budget of 250 million dollars to use to advocate gun facilities and
educational programs and events and sponsorships. They have developed a reputation in
Washington o make or break a politician. Another reason is because of Gerrymandering. Most
recent attempts to pass new federal laws regulating firearms are over before they ever really
begin. According to BBC News, In June 2016 a group of Democratic politicians staged a sit in
on the floor of the House to protest the Republican House leadership s decision not to hold a
vote on two gun control bills. This shows that the house tends to have pro gun rights (Zurcher,
1). Demographics also play a part in the pro gun part in the House, as there are more rural
districts with higher levels of gun ownership than there are urban ones. The articles also had a
couple more reason to why the laws won t help. The filibuster and the courts were other big ways
to why they won t be passed or even help (Zurcher, 2 3). Some States have went and made their
own laws against guns. Florida has allowed its citizens to carry a concealed weapon. Since this law
was enacted

Pros And Cons Of Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility
The Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility received its first detainees in 2002.. Guantanamo has been

Guantanamo detention facility should remain open because it does not entice terrorist to strike, the
prison is not used enough, detainees who were sent back to their home countries have returned to
terrorism, and the prisoners were not treated poorly at the facility. Critics of Guantanamo say it
serves as a potent propaganda tool for the Islamic State, which makes the prisoners it captures wear

Of those sent to other countries, 214 are known or suspected to have returned to terrorist or

detainees had been involved in attacks against allied forces in Afghanistan that resulted in the
deaths of about six Americans. According to American officials who spoke to a Washington Post

2007 only to be released the following year was likely involved in the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the

(Dottolo Stewart, 2013). Being White in America has no set definition other than an individual with
a linage to the United kingdom, Europe, Germany, or Scandinavian. Being White in America is a
skin pigment, rather than a community or collaboration of traditions as displayed in minorities.
Because there is no regulated definition or standard as to what Whiteness is or should be, Through
personal and informal questioning of my fellow students on campus, a notable and interesting trend
emerged: only one of the Caucasian people that was questioned could answer what it meant to be
White in America. She defined it less about raceand more about what White peoplestereotypically
do. These include things such as being in the upper middle class with a steady retirement fund in a
two parent household. This idea of a typical White family or life does hold some merit. The 2010
United Statescensus has found that the average White person will live in a community that is
seventy seven percent white. Among White Americans, ninety one percent of the people that they

Americans report only have contact on social media with people exclusively of their own race

World War 2 Propaganda Analysis
During World War II, many countries used propoganda, a piece of media used to promote a
purpose, to direct citizens attention to war efforts. Through the use of a variety of persuasvie
techniques Great Britian was able to use propoganda to recruit citizens into the war efforts. This
is due to the fact that ordinary people saw everyone contributing to a simple solution such as,
working in a factory to build parts becuase they were inspired to have a say in how long the war
would continue. Thus, the techniques that were used in propoganda proved to be effective
during that time by persuading and inspiring people to contribute to World War II. In the first
piece, there are men working on a truck during an active battle with an evident color scheme of
red, white, and blue to show patritioism. This proposed a simple solution that inspired people to
work in the factories. However, the also picture depicts a sense of fear out of the audience
because the men are working on a vehicle as the war is going on. Citizens would feel this fear
deep inside, and take the prior inspiration to contribute to the production of vehicles. Since the
propoganda says, the word our the patirotism returns persuading the audience to work towards the
simple solution out of the fear of losing loved ones or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Kelvin begins at 0 degrees which gives an exact estimation of the determined absolute temperature,
yet Celsius only shows how much the temperature has increased.
The three gas laws that were covered during this experiment were: Boyle s law, Charles law, and

decreased values. Boyle is an indirect (1/О±), and Charles and Gay Lussac are both a direct (О±)

In Part III, the volume of air in the syringe increased in the warm bath. This occurs because the

Reflection Paper On Swimming
Attentiveness is a key value the team holds. Everyone needs to be there and ready to go by the
start of practice. If someone is late they get talked to by one of the coaches which is one of their
sanctions they practice. Being attentive is a good lesson swimmers learn that gets them ready
for having a job after college. At morning practice, it is kind of astonishing to see the swimmers
being unexpectedly energetic, especially at 5:40 AM. Before jumping into the pool, I noticed a
lot of the swimmers were doing some sort of dance. They were swinging their arms, jumping up
and down, stretching, etc. I think They are doing some dynamic warm ups they go through
before entering into the pool. They do this to get them loose and ready to swim. It almost as if it
is a ritual they do before every practice or before every event at a meet. It like how Michael
Phelps flops his arms around behind the blocks before racing. Swimmers are a unique subculture
as well. I feel as if they are pretty open minded and generally nice people. There are a few
characteristic that set swimmers apart from the normal culture. Most of them have big shoulders
which makes sense because they use them every day in the water. Sometimes one can tell a
swimmer from how their hair looks. Some have distinguishable fried hair that is shiny and messy.
Another thing to tell a swimmer is by the amount of food they eat. If anyone has seen a group of

other instruments its musical ranges complements the songs because it can alter between Soprano
and Bass. Even though it usually does not have solo music composed for it the viola is a string

How Instant Messaging ( Im ) And Texting
Discuss how instant messaging (IM) and texting could be a benefit, or an obstacle, or both, in your
industry.
In my workplace, employees are able to connect with colleagues through internal social media and
instant messaging (IM) tools. The social media chat tool affords employees (globally) to connect
and discuss topics such as proposal support, employees with special skillsets, training interest,
online tutorial sessions (i.e., updating resumes, corporate management seminars), shared
information obtained at conferences and/or technology presentations, global engineering industry
news, and individual and team awards and recognition. Although a separate application, messages
generated through the social media tool are displayed in the company s email inbox.
The IM feature is very beneficial because employees can simultaneously review a document or
spreadsheet and communicate/provide input to one another via online IM, instead of over
speakerphone which can be very distracting for employees operating in a cube farm type
environment (common practice within the industry).
To date, I have not viewed the internal social media and instant messaging (IM) tools as obstacles;
however, my email inbox gets very populated by the numerous social media messages from
employees who are sharing information or requesting support.. I don t always find time to review
each message, but I am confident that if my direct assistance is required, I will receive an email

Probation Officer Job Description
Probation officers and parole officers are often lumped together when people think about them.
They do have some common duties, such as working within the corrections system and being
employed by county, state or federal corrections departments. Sometimes they even take on dual
responsibilities, functioning as both probation and parole officers. Probation officers perform many
duties specific to probation and deal with offenders who have been ... Show more content on

Probation Officer Requirements, Qualifications and Training
The majority of corrections departments require probation officers to have a bachelor s degree
from a 4 year college or university. A bachelor s degree in corrections, criminal justice, psychology,
social work or another related field is preferred. Some positions, such as federal and higher level
positions, require a master s degree in criminal justice, social work, counseling or a related field.
Most departments require applicants to be at least 21 years of age, not to have been convicted of
a felony, and to have strong writing and interview skills. Computer skills have become necessary
as well due to the technological advancements in the field of probation and the court system. Some
states require probation officers to have at least two years of corrections, parole, correctional
treatment specialist or probation experience. Previous social work or counseling experience where
the objective was to guide a subject through difficult situations is also looked upon highly.
Probation officer training differs depending on the department but will usually include a six
month to a year probationary period during which a new probation officer will work with a
supervisor or experienced probation officer. The application and hiring process will also involve
physical and psychological examinations, and there will be written tests and oral interviews. Most

Work Rate and Oxygen Uptake
The Relationship Between Work Rate And Oxygen Uptake During Incremental Submaximal
Exercise
Introduction
Oxygen uptake () describes the rate at which oxygen is utilized by tissues (Burton et al, 2004). is
determined by heart rate (heart beats each minute), stroke volume (the volume of blood pumped
from one ventricle each beat) and arteriovenous oxygen difference (difference in blood oxygen
content between arterial and venous blood). Oxygen is needed for respiration, the chemical
process that produces energy in the form of ATP. Several sources agree that oxygen uptake
increases linearly with exercise, this is due to the skeletal muscles requirement for more oxygen for
the production of more ATP. Hanson et al (1998) measured... Show more content on

For the participant in this trial to sustain 60rpm, their muscles must produce progressively more
force after each increment, as 0.5kg resistance is applied to the flywheel each time, therefore the
energy demands of the muscle progressively increase. A deviation from the trend during the middle
of the trial was not expected as most sources agree the relationship is linear (Burton, Г–zyener,
Glassford), however Astrand (1961) found a non linear steeper increase in during the middle
stages. Astrand s non linear pattern may be explained by production of power increasing to a
point beyond the lactate threshold, the point at which lactic acid starts to accumulate in the blood.
A slowly developing increase in during constant work rate exercise performed above the lactate
threshold produces a curvilinear relationship and is known as the slow component of kinetics
(Jones et al, 2011). The cause for the steep increase at the final stage of the trial is supported by the
research of Bernard et al (1996), who measured the effects of increasing exercise intensities
recording oxygen consumption and heart rate simultaneously. Findings revealed a significant
correlation with the best predictions of from work rate observed at higher intensities. Bernard s
findings support results in table 1 that

How Did Georgia Formed
Introduction
Have ever wondered how georgia was formed? Georgia was formed by James Edward
Oglethorpe and some trusted colonist he was assigned to go with. James Oglethorpe founded
Georgia to give people that owes debts to be given a chance to earn money after being released
from jail. Oglethorpe ran for parliament in after the Turkish war and won to be a member. He
then decided to reform jails all over London because his friend Robert had to share a jail with
someone who had smallpox; Robert contracted smallpox and then died. Oglethorpe need
somewhere for the prisoners to go after they have been released because of the lack of job and

reason the south did more of plantation is because the geography and climate is just right for

a plantation owner harvests tobacco, rice, sugar cane, and indigo are all called cash crops. Cash

American author Deepak Chopra said, If you want to do really important things in life and big

Similarly enough, Harry also faces an opponent rivaling for the Deathly Hallows, and it is none
other than Lord Voldemort. The reader knows this clearly when he states that, You Know Who s

the same amount of value into whatever the hero and villain are fighting for. Furthermore, the
Arkenstone and the Deathly Hallows die out. At the end of Harry s fight with Voldemort and the
school year, he states that, I m putting the Elder Wand, he told Dumbledore, who was watching
him with enormous affection and admiration, Back where it came from. It can stay there...,
(Rowling 749). Considering that the Elder wand came from a tree and trees all start in the ground,
one might infer that Harry has buried it or gotten rid of it in some way. Even though the Arkenstone
wasn t destroyed, it was still made gone when, They buried Thorin deep beneath the Mountain, and
Bard laid the Arkenstone upon his breast. (Tolkien 117). If the Arkenstone was simply buried in the
mountain with no intention of being hidden, one might assume that a prequel would come where
the Arkenstone would be made important again. In order for this to be avoided, the adjectives deep

Exploring Ways Of Assist And Or Intervene At Risk Students
The purpose of this study is to explore ways to assist and/or intervene at risk students in order to
set them on the path towards graduation. The NCES reported the graduation rate declined from
12% to 7% during 1990 2013. These are good improvements, however, we must continue take the
necessary steps to lower these numbers for future generations. Graduation will open up a world of
opportunities that might not other wise be available to them without a high schooldiploma.
According to an article in PBS Frontline in 2012, an individual without a high school diploma
can earn, a national average of, $20,241 a year. That is $10,386 less than a person who
graduated from high school. $10,000 does not sound like a lot of money spread out over an
entire year, but it averages out to be an extra $200 a week. In my opinion, that is significant.
Someone who goes on to earn their bachelor degree can expect to earn an additional $36,364 per
year. What many students do not understand is that without high school graduation they cannot
enter the military or qualify for many lower scale jobs as these require a diploma or high school
equivalency. There are so many factors that contribute to a student s decision to stay in school or
to dropout but if communities and schools can intervene, maybe the national dropout rate can be
lowered lending to a better life for all involved. For the last eleven years I have worked with at risk
high school students in an alternative school associated

Evidence And Circumstantial Evidence
The collection of evidence, whether it be direct, circumstantial, physical, or testimonial, is very
important to a case. Why? Because that evidence is what the prosecution hopes will end with a
conviction. However, sometimes things happen and evidence gets contaminated. Now, the biggest
thing to determine is whether the contamination happened on accident or if someone tampered with
it on purpose.
There are four different types of evidence, direct, circumstantial, physical, and testimonial. Direct
evidence is evidence that is in the form of a testimony that someone has seen, heard, or physically
touched (Direct evidence, 2008). So that, if believed, proves a fact without inference or
presumptions (Direct evidence, 2008). This is different from circumstantial in the fact that direct
evidence erases the questioning and thinking behind the evidence itself (Direct evidence, 2008). ...

It is a series of facts that require reasoning and experience (Circumstantial evidence, 2008). The
members of the court who are presenting circumstantial evidence to the jury argues that the series
of facts that they are presenting resemble the facts proven so closely that they are just inferred to
be truth and that is what the jury must decide (Circumstantial evidence, 2008). For example, if
James sees William shoot Emily that s direct evidence, but if James see William and Emily go into
another room together and hears William say that he was going to shoot Emily, and then hears a
gun shot and William comes out the room holding a gun and Emily is dead, James testimony would

Abstract
Surface roughness has become the most significant functional requirement and it is an index of the
product quality. In order to increase the efficiency of hard to machine alloys like titanium and nickel
alloys, an Electro Chemical Honing (ECH) process has been employed to achieve highest material
removal rate with the best surface qualities. This extended abstract describes the design and
fabrication of an indigenously developed tooling setup for ECH of external cylindrical surfaces of
Titanium alloys (TI 6AL 4V) and also highlights the key process parameters and their affect on
ECH process. The influence of the machining parameters on the surface finish has been investigated
and optimized the process parameters for improving the surface roughness is also evaluated.
Percentage improvements in surface roughness values Ra and other parameters like electrolyte
temperature, composition and concentration were studied while changing the processing time (PT).
And also the study of surface characteristics of micro and macro level and micro hardness too
examined.

First, through the development of infrastructure and opening up of newer shops and outlets, jobs
are created. This thus reduces unemployment and also makes these families improve on their

The fees skyrocket and most of these families cannot afford it. They thus end up having children
with low levels of education. Also, due to the cultural diversity, the minority poorer people are
often criminalized thus making life harder for them (Fainstein, 2014) Gentrification improves the
social factors that determine health. Since there was the creation of newer hospitals and facilities,
the communities in Williamsburg benefited from better healthcare. On top of that improved
security and better housing structures made health better in Williamsburg. Since levels of
education are also increased by gentrification, health got a major boost. These show that health,
in general, was improved by gentrification. However, access for the more impoverished families
was still an issue due to the high charges. When the values of property rise, the original residents
are affected both positively and negatively. However, they are affected more negatively as they
are forced to vacate their homes as they can no longer afford the rent. This leads to displacement of
more impoverished families. On top of that, they are forced to spend a lot on rent alone in case they
stay. This might affect their finances, and they could end up bankrupt. Their health may deteriorate
too because of depression as well as higher charges in the hospital. However, they may get
advantages such as improved housing conditions and better security and environment.

The Montessori Method involved five key components that she believed every educator and adult

Cleophon The Agora
My film is a fictional tale based on historic events and using legitimate historical characters. Under
the genre of war/political drama, this film focuses greatly on the final period of the Peloponnesian
War between Athens and the Peloponnesian League. Many scenes in the film take place in Athens
during a period of upheaval und unrest; therefore, filming scenes in sets of the Agora, will capture
the scale of Athens at the time. One example is the trial of Cleophon, a scene that will be shot in a

It takes place in Cleophon s fictional office room, a simple square room with minimal furniture
to emphasize the focus on Cleophon and his diligence. The scene occurs at nighttime and
indoors, and will be dimly lit by closed lamps and candles. This minimal lighting will provide
even more drama, as shadows will be cast along the walls. The main furniture in the scene is
Cleophon s oak desk, covered with parchment, emphasizing Cleophon s business and desperation
to stop the Peloponnesians. On the back wall of the office is a wall painting of Dike holding a
scale of justice, representing the ironic injustice of the scene. Cleophon is seated at his desk,
wearing a simple chiton to suggest his lack of concern for flamboyant, elite garments. The actor
is in his early 30s, as the true age of Cleophon is not known. This age emphasizes the perspective
difference between Cleophon and the older oligarchs with their superiority complex. The scene
will begin with focus on a distressed Cleophon, busily working at his desk on plans to unite the
people against the Peloponnesians. This distress will be quickly interrupted by the sound of the
magistrates police knocking on the door. Cleophon is then arrested and lead out of his office, while
the camera ends on the illuminated painting of Dike. Overall, this scene occurs in a historically

Starting a Spa Business in Singapore
Despite the economic crisis, health and wellness sector in Singapore has always recorded a
steady growth starting from S$140 million a year. The factor causing the high amount of revenue
is due to high tourist arrivals and the increase in wealth of individuals. People are more willing to

Orr And Zuk Summary

behind sexual selection. The questions that they seek to answer involve the fact that why are the
males fighting during mating season, and the ones with the colorful ornaments. In both human and
animal relationship, there are many similarities, such as the fact that the malefights for the female

The Origin explained that sexual selection involves competition, but for mating instead of fighting
for survival, in The Descent went on to explain the relevance of the traits like the peacock tails.
Ornaments that males have don t usually serve a purpose but usually becomes detrimental. Having

After living Egypt, the congregation of Israelites complained against Moses and Aaron in the
wilderness saying, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly
with hunger (New Revised Standard, Exo 16:3). This circumstances put in Moses and Aaron in
a stressful situation, they were responsible for these people that were hangry and did not have
anything to eat. Another example is the frequent wars that the Israelites went through. Also the
Bible narrates approximately 53 remarkable battles from Abraham to the beginning of the
Christianism. Moreover, slavery was a factor that produces stress. The Scripture shows us that
after Joseph death a new king came into power over Egypt, this king oppressed the Israelites and
made the people them work very hard (Exo 1:11 14). In the biblical context to have children was
not just a desire, but also a duty. Sarah and Abraham for a long time were waiting for the promised
child, and for many years they did not received answered (Gen

Bede, born in Northumbria, recalled seeing a gracious Being in shining robes and a beautiful
place where he saw other people (Varghese, 85). Also, Gilles Bedard, born in Quebec, recalled an
out of body experience and seeing a group of dazzlingly white people who did not appear to have
faces (Varghese, 86). Finally, Gwenllian, in Cardiff, recalled being aware of a massively
powerful presence, and she felt great comfort of the presence (Varghese, 88). The experience didn

several cases from individuals to prove otherwise. For instance, Bede, Gilles, and Gwenllian each

Constitutional Basis For Public Health Action
Module 2: The Constitutional and Legal Basis for Public Health Action
Government and population are two characteristics that differentiate public health law from other
laws. In public health law, government is the actor, legislature, congress, city council, city
commissions, meaning that only government can take away or violate individual rights in certain
circumstances. Second characteristic of public health law, population or group of people who share
similar characteristics.
The essential services of public health are prevention and welfare of the public s health.
The important concept in the constitutional basis for public health action is protect the community
and rebalance that against the need of individual rights. States take responsibility and authority to
provide public health and public safety: inspection and regulation of commercial and residential
facilities; restaurant, hotel, motel, or swimming pool inspection; regulating drinking water. They do

benefit to the larger population. Four standards came from the Jacobson v. Massachusetts case:

HIV prior to delivery.
The case U.S. v. Westinghouse from the 1970s is a balancing test to assure that the individual
rights are appropriately balances against public health or community benefit. In this case the court
balances out five steps: type of record (identifiable data); injury from disclosure of data to subject

Introduction
According to research, it has established that breast cancer is one of the leading cause of cancer
death among Hispanic women despite them having a low incidence rate of breast cancer. It has
attributed to the fact that most Hispanic women presents with advanced breast cancer at
diagnosis, and thus is more likely to die from breast cancer compared with non Hispanic white
women. According to Banegas and Li (2012), an estimated number of 39510 breast cancer deaths
in women occurred, and 226,870 new breast cancer cases were diagnosed in the US. Among all
these cases, Hispanic women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Six Sigma Reflection
The first guest speaker that spoke to our class was David Klug. He came to talk about Six Sigma
and LEAN Integrations. He used to work for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska and this is
where he first started to implement these programs. He no longer works there, but his presentation
what over this company and how they adapted to the Six Sigmaand LEAN programs. Right away he
said something that caught my attention and that was that he emphasized that the culture of the
business is the key in implementing these programs and without culture a company will not be
successful. We found out throughout the presentation that that statement was very true. Six Sigma
is a methodology that uses tools to improve an organization. The tools assist in identifying the
customer requirements and conducting data analysis. Lean is a methodology that focuses on
streamlining a process of eliminating waste. The tools help make the process visible which assists
in identifying opportunities to optimize the process flow and reduce time.
Of course the slide that had percentages on it caught my eye due to liking numbers and math so
much. It was interesting for me to hear him talk about what would happen if 99.9% were
acceptable. Some of the examples were like two unsafe plane landings per day at O Hare airport
in Chicago and 500 incorrect surgical operations each week . These examples just show that
companies are always having to know what they are doing and what needs to be improved to make
sure

The Alaska Highway Essay
In 1942, fifteen thousand American soldiers and civilian laborers poured into Alberta, British
Columbia, and the Yukon to construct a highway stretching from mainland United States to Alaska.
In doing so, they had to overcome obstacles of climate, terrain, and manpower (see Figure 1). The
construction of the Alaska Highway serves an enlightening episode where Canadian and American
interest in northern development and continental defense became intertwined. The continental
projects in the North west, including the Alaska Highway, North West Staging route, and the
CANOL pipeline marked a new period in Canadian American relations. There has been a tendency
in the historiography to over emphasize the threat that the American presence on Canadian... Show

Funding and labour for the highway were provided by the United States, and so Ottawa looked
forward to acquiring, at American expense, an all weather road that would hold great commercial
value for the region in the post war. Worries of sovereignty were not the priority at this point in time
as the fate of the war still remained unsure in early 1942. In addition to the expected post war
economic benefits, the American presence served the wartime strategic aims of both the American
and Canadian Governments, as they urgently sought the continent against the possibility of
encroachment from both the Western threat of Japan and the eastern threat of Germany. This was
particularly true until 1943, as the fate as the war still uncertain. As the war began to strongly
favour the Allies, the Canadian government was able to re address concerns such as northern
development and increasing its involvement in north west defense projects. Until the end of the
war, Canada maintained a policy to mitigate potential issues arising from the continued need for
continental defense projects that would result in American presence within Canadian boundaries.
The war years were an opportunity for the Canadian Government to prepare itself for a post war
reality, where the Canadian North would remain a strategic location in a conflict between the Soviet
Union and the United

The Inclination of Today’s Youths Towards Self-Harm
Many teenagers are suffering a hidden pain in the privacy of their homes. They secretly cut, burn,
scratch, pull hair, and bruise their bodies. The psychosis is termed non suicidal self injury
(NSSI).Teenagers are feeling pressures from typical insecurities of low self esteem, body image,
fashion trends, bullying, pressures from friends, and family issues. As a result, teens are turning to
the internet for strategies of how to deal with the pressures of life, making this topic more of a
public enigma, than a private sufferingissue. NSSI is a growing phenomenon and parents and
psychologists should advocate safe internet sites, and force social media outlets to provide links for
teens to access healthier ways to manage their emotions.
NSSI behavior is on the rise and is more prevalent among our youth today; due to images, other
teens upload on the internet. Today many teens are accessing self harmimages and content on the
World Wide Web
, through YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. The images are of the cuts and
burns that others have inflicted on themselves, while others are of diagrams depicting where to cut,
that parents and teachers will not notice. Some teens will use self injury to try to relieve their
feelings of anxiety and pressures they are feeling in their lives. According to Caitlin Dewey, in an
article from The Washington Post, an issue with internet sites is that they promote the activity as
normal and healthy, therefore encouraging teens to continue injuring

The Key Role Of Finance
The key role of finance in any business is to manage money; whether it be raising capital through
share capital and bank loans, raising credit (short term capital), or handling the costs of the
business. Without finance, a business would not function, as quoted by (Griffin, 2015); Money is
the lifeblood of a business and financeis the nerve center .
Key activities of the finance department:
Firstly, one of the key activities of the finance department is to maintain a check on the costs
/outgoings of the business. This is important because if the business spends too much, it may have
to dip into its capital money invested into the business to start it in the first place or it may have to
take out bank loans, in order to finance the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is very important because a business needs to know exactly where and when all of its
money has been spent at any given time in order to be able to reduce the costs for the future. For
example, for the year ending 2014 Arcadia Group generated ВЈ316.8 million revenue and finished
up with ВЈ143.1 million pre tax profit. (Limited, 2014) The decisions made by the accountants in
the finance department leading up to and after the publication of these figures is essential to the
financial success of the Arcadia Group (Topshop, Top man, Wallis, etc). Without constant reviews
and informed judgements and decisions (Weetman, 2006) by the accountants in finance, the
Arcadia Group would start to make a loss and possibly, eventually go bankrupt. By evaluating the
figures and reaching conclusions on them, the Arcadia Group will be better able to maximize the
profits for the company.
Key tools and ideas that are critical to finance:
One of the key ideas behind the finance function is the question; Is the business making a profit?
This is because without making a profit, a business would not continue to exist. For example, in
2013 Ford made $8.6 billion in pre tax profits, but in 2014 Ford made $6.3 billion, so there was a
drop of $2.3 billion (Ford,

The European Union And The People s Republic Of China
Introduction This year, the European Union and the People s Republic of China celebrate their 40
years anniversary of diplomatic relations with one another. During these years, they have redefined
their relationship, they have deepened their mutual understanding and today they share what both
sides call a strategic partnership . However, during all these four decades, this profound relationship
experienced many difficulties and challenges, until the last two decades, which marked a new era
of political and economic strengthening of their ties. Especially, since China s accession in the
WTO and the institutionalisation of its economic and trade cooperation with the EU, the two parts
have witnessed a flourishing of their relations. The EU... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Going through the background of the relations between the two sides, focusing primarily on the
economic aspect of it, the paper will examine the opportunities and challenges of the strategic
partnership between the EU and China and it will argue that for China, the EU is the best
economic and strategic partner within the global economic system. EU China economic relations:
a brief overview Europe and China share a long history of bilateral relations and economic
cooperation. Trade and economic exchanges go back as long as 20 centuries ago, when the Roman
empire formed relations with ancient China in order to trade goods through the Asian continent.
The most infamous one is the example of the so called silk roads , paths that enabled cultural
interaction and commodity sharing, such as gold and silk, between European (Greek, Roman,
Byzantine) and Asian (Chinese, Indian, Persian) civilisations and were carried out by missionary
merchants and pilgrim travelers. During the modern history, however, European and China
economic relations have gone through many ups and downs, as the international climate affected
drammatically their perception of each other. The two World Wars damaged heavily the
economies of Europe, while China was still under very low levels of economic development. After
the second World War, the US rose as the global economic power and overshadowed the previous
European (UK, France, Germany and Netherlands) economic

The Beginning Of Leadership, Whatarangi Winiata
In the 1880s, the destruction of the Treaty of Waitangi caused a lot of commotion among the
MДЃori people, especially the leaders. In the beginning of the 1900s, MДЃori leadership appeared
to be insignificant, but soon a new generation emerged and began to turn things around. These
new leaders were educated at universities and took new approaches to obtaining what they needed
(Pfeiffer et al 2010: 8, 10, 20). This essay will look at the beginning of leadership, Whatarangi
Winiata, contemporary leadership, and leadership attributes to prove how the concepts of
whakapapa (genealogy), iwi (tribe, people), arikitanga (chieftainship), and mana (authority, power)
are embedded within MДЃori leadership. From the beginning, leadership has been determined by
whakapapa (Pfeiffer et al 2010: 6). According to the MДЃori people, everything possess whakapapa
from rocks, to mountains, to people. Through whakapapa, the power of being a chief is passed
down. Whakapapa is the most important type of knowledge according the to MДЃori people, and it
is customary that everyone knows their immediate ancestors and pass this knowledge on. The
power that is passed down through whakapapa is called mana tЕ«puna. It is passed down by
chiefly lineage from generation to generation. When one receives this mana tЕ«puna they must
complete very specific rituals and duties to keep this power that has been passed down to them
(Barlow 1991: 61, 62, 173, 174). For the MДЃori people, arikitanga is the highest power

This drug was prescribed generally to anyone who had symptoms of strep throat. Elixir Sulfanilamide contains diethylene glycol, which is a chemical equivalent of antifreeze. There were 107 documented deaths, involving many children, because of the lack in regulations. The Pure Food and Drug Act was deemed to insufficient to protect the public. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) website indicates that this new law sets a single health based standard instead of the previous multiple standards. The general safety standard is considered to be, a reasonable certainty of no harm. How Does The Cleveland Clinic Affect The Community With the Cleveland Clinic being nonprofit, they really make sure to engage with the community by getting involved in a broad range of medical research, educational training programs, and supporting the community health initiatives (Community Impact 2017 | Cleveland Clinic). The Clinic is absolutely making an impact in the community, as more companies are developing and gradually growing around them. The bigger challenge is that the community is still very much poor and unhealthy. According to (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), over one third of the population that live around the hospitalhave diabetes. Another big part of the population has Cancer, Heart Disease, and Kidney disease. The hospital can continue to add new things and make changes, but it has no control of what is happening to the city around them. The clinic is ranked second in the world report hospital rankings. It employs over 50,000 people in just the Ohio clinic. They also spend millions of dollars on additional education for their physicians, and also with making community investments. They have also put over $500,000 into a program to get rid of run down homes within the neighborhood. One of the clinics most significant investment was for the Langston Hughes Education Center. They offer free exercise equipment and adult day care. (By: Dan Diamond/07/17/17/ The Clinic is a global success story, but it s host community remains mired in poverty) So when it comes to economy impact, they truly do go over and beyond and put out quite a bit of money and support other organizations. Regarding the Healthcare Reform, the clinic is partnering with Oscar Health regarding insurance. The plans are going to be sold on the Ohio health insuranceexchange starting in 2018. According to (CFO Steve Glass), the clinic and Oscar Health are going to offer a different and unique approach. • 4. Potential Of Innocence In Dracula It seems a simple task to create the potential of fear. People have grown to fear mainly similar things and ultimately anything that endangers the innocent part of human kind. Sadly, there is only a slight hint of true innocence that exists in us as humans. How come fear intrueges us, it is not the knowing of its unrealness, because for a moment there, it seems real. Therefore it is an art, how can one be freigthened and fascinated in its most beautiful way. How is it conjured, not just the fear of actual danger, but the art of darkness. In analyzing the freigthning or sinister parts of four artistic works introducing us to darkness there we many things to point out, as there obviously is limitation to analyzing within a research of a text, ... This is because such descriptions make the event seem so vivid as if you are living it, af if you are not sitting on the couch you are sitting on because it takes too much times to think about it to be aware of the reality that is happening outside of the book. There were little decorations in the passages, perhaps because scene passages represented the essence of the novel, the darkest parts of it, whereas it needs to be concrete, no unnecessary fuss like alliteration and other literary devices that are found much more in other kinds of novels and other parts of horror novels, especially Dracula. Dracula is much older than IT, the social context of the book depicts a world of differences. Stoker made extreme use of langual flattery but as there were dangerous conflicts, he needed to leave some of that out to ensure that the reader s attention would not fade. The boat scene was obviously a different technique but that was because it was written as a to the point writing captain who suddenly had so much more to describe, it was also needed for later clarification to enclose what happened on the boat. Stephen King, to me, is a master of vocabulary because of his grand choice of words to describe even the tiniest things without boring the reader. This makes his writing so vivid, he describes everything as if he was standing there as it happened, but that does not make it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Punk Rock Movement 1. INTRODUCTION This report uses Heding et al. s seven approaches to branding (2009) to investigate John Lydon s relevance, strengths and weaknesses as a brand. John Lydon also known as Johnny Rotten is a singer, musician and songwriter, famous for being the lead singer of the Sex Pistols (1975 1978) and of the Public Image Ltd (PiL) (1978 present). This report mainly focuses on Lydon s experience in PiL, which represents the longest part of his career compared to Sex Pistols relatively short life. Although the literature recognises that artists can produce powerful brands, the separation between art and business has partly obscured the potential developments of branding studies in the context of the cultural industries (Schroeder, 2006, 1291 1292). Considered the pioneer of the Punk Rock movement and one of the most influential and controversial musicians of all times, Lydon represents an interesting case study to offer new insights in the applicability of branding theories to artists. The main body of this report contains seven chapters, one for each of the seven approaches identified by Heding et al. (2009, 22 25): the identity approach, the personality approach, the consumer based approach, the economic approach, the relational approach, the community approach and the cultural approach. Using their model and a great variety of academic frameworks has allowed to deliver a comprehensive analysis of John Lydon s brand. The discussion section reveals the ... • 6. Who the Fools Are in Gimpel the Fool Essay Who the Fools Are in Gimpel the Fool When reading through Gimpel the Fool , the reader asks who the fools really are? Throughout this paper I will use the psychological approach. I will use this to show that Gimpel s character grows more into a successful person rather than a fool as everyone knows him to be. Gimpel The Fool is a story written by Isaac Bashevis Singer. This story is about a simple man named Gimpel. He is measured by many to be a fool because he is naive and easily taking advantage of; constantly falling for tricks layed out by the townspeople. Gimpel is also easily persuaded by the townspeople; they end up persuading him into marrying Elka, who is known as a whore. The author s point of view is what he is trying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When he is right they belittle him and talk to him as if he were wrong, Gimpel would say Ah you re kidding! (301). That means trouble for him; the townspeople came back and say, What do you mean! You want to call everyone a liar? (301). Gimpel has no way of winning with the townspeople. It is just better and easier for him to go along with what they have to say so he would not have to have an argument. Gimpel also told himself that nothing is really impossible. Gimpel the Fool is a unique story in which you find out about people and how they react toward each other. In this story, Gimpel is not known as a very bright man, just as a fool. This story is written in a first person point of view, the narrator is the main character Gimpel. In this story the town symbolizes evil. The town s evil is brought out through the townspeople with the way they treat Gimpel. The bakery symbolizes good; it is Gimpel s success. When reading this story I chose to use the psychological approach. I chose this approach because of the different type of personalities we are able to see throughout the story. Gimpel s personality type is known as an introvert. He is not very sociable. When he is with people they always just treat him as a fool rather than a person, this is why Gimpel chose not to be sociable. Gimpel would be more sociable with people if they had treated him with more respect. All the townspeople including Elka and the Rabbi were extroverts: they all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Gun Laws And Gun Control Laws Gun Control Laws Within the last couple of months, gun control and gun control laws has been seen all over the news and all over social media. I decided that topic would be perfect for this essay While scrolling through Facebook, I came upon this meme and I knew right away it was the right meme for this paper. Within the last couple of months, we have had about two major mass shootings and they have had a huge impact over the nation. Society is wondering why the government is not doing much and why we are not seeing any changes with these laws. Most people are saying that we need to have stricter gun laws, but would that really change anything? This meme that I found was posted on Facebook by the Hill Country Young Republicans . Many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I found an article called Five Reasons US Gun Control Won t Happen . It caught my eye and I decided that it would maybe help me find some useful information for this paper. The first reason is because of the NRA. The NRA is a group of over 5 million people and play a big role in politics. They have an overall budget of 250 million dollars to use to advocate gun facilities and educational programs and events and sponsorships. They have developed a reputation in Washington o make or break a politician. Another reason is because of Gerrymandering. Most recent attempts to pass new federal laws regulating firearms are over before they ever really begin. According to BBC News, In June 2016 a group of Democratic politicians staged a sit in on the floor of the House to protest the Republican House leadership s decision not to hold a vote on two gun control bills. This shows that the house tends to have pro gun rights (Zurcher, 1). Demographics also play a part in the pro gun part in the House, as there are more rural districts with higher levels of gun ownership than there are urban ones. The articles also had a couple more reason to why the laws won t help. The filibuster and the courts were other big ways to why they won t be passed or even help (Zurcher, 2 3). Some States have went and made their own laws against guns. Florida has allowed its citizens to carry a concealed weapon. Since this law was enacted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Guantanamo has been a topic of debate since the first 20 detainees arrived; should the facility close or remain open? Guantanamo detention facility should remain open because it does not entice terrorist to strike, the prison is not used enough, detainees who were sent back to their home countries have returned to terrorism, and the prisoners were not treated poorly at the facility. Critics of Guantanamo say it serves as a potent propaganda tool for the Islamic State, which makes the prisoners it captures wear orange jumpsuits, nearly identical to those worn by Guantanamo inmates. • 9. Gender, A, And Social Orientation be seen as natural, a default identity; it goes unnoticed, hidden, and taken for granted as normal (Dottolo Stewart, 2013). Being White in America has no set definition other than an individual with a linage to the United kingdom, Europe, Germany, or Scandinavian. Being White in America is a skin pigment, rather than a community or collaboration of traditions as displayed in minorities. Because there is no regulated definition or standard as to what Whiteness is or should be, Through personal and informal questioning of my fellow students on campus, a notable and interesting trend emerged: only one of the Caucasian people that was questioned could answer what it meant to be White in America. She defined it less about raceand more about what White peoplestereotypically do. These include things such as being in the upper middle class with a steady retirement fund in a two parent household. This idea of a typical White family or life does hold some merit. The 2010 United Statescensus has found that the average White person will live in a community that is seventy seven percent white. Among White Americans, ninety one percent of the people that they communicate with through their social media networks are also White. Three quarters of White Americans report only have contact on social media with people exclusively of their own race (2015, August 28). • 10. World War 2 Propaganda Analysis During World War II, many countries used propoganda, a piece of media used to promote a purpose, to direct citizens attention to war efforts. Through the use of a variety of persuasvie techniques Great Britian was able to use propoganda to recruit citizens into the war efforts. This is due to the fact that ordinary people saw everyone contributing to a simple solution such as, working in a factory to build parts becuase they were inspired to have a say in how long the war would continue. Thus, the techniques that were used in propoganda proved to be effective during that time by persuading and inspiring people to contribute to World War II. In the first piece, there are men working on a truck during an active battle with an evident color scheme of red, white, and blue to show patritioism. This proposed a simple solution that inspired people to work in the factories. However, the also picture depicts a sense of fear out of the audience because the men are working on a vehicle as the war is going on. Citizens would feel this fear deep inside, and take the prior inspiration to contribute to the production of vehicles. Since the propoganda says, the word our the patirotism returns persuading the audience to work towards the simple solution out of the fear of losing loved ones or... • 15. Reflection Paper On Swimming Attentiveness is a key value the team holds. Everyone needs to be there and ready to go by the start of practice. If someone is late they get talked to by one of the coaches which is one of their sanctions they practice. Being attentive is a good lesson swimmers learn that gets them ready for having a job after college. At morning practice, it is kind of astonishing to see the swimmers being unexpectedly energetic, especially at 5:40 AM. Before jumping into the pool, I noticed a lot of the swimmers were doing some sort of dance. They were swinging their arms, jumping up and down, stretching, etc. I think They are doing some dynamic warm ups they go through before entering into the pool. They do this to get them loose and ready to swim. It almost as if it is a ritual they do before every practice or before every event at a meet. It like how Michael Phelps flops his arms around behind the blocks before racing. Swimmers are a unique subculture as well. I feel as if they are pretty open minded and generally nice people. There are a few characteristic that set swimmers apart from the normal culture. Most of them have big shoulders which makes sense because they use them every day in the water. Sometimes one can tell a swimmer from how their hair looks. Some have distinguishable fried hair that is shiny and messy. Another thing to tell a swimmer is by the amount of food they eat. In my workplace, employees are able to connect with colleagues through internal social media and instant messaging (IM) tools. The social media chat tool affords employees (globally) to connect and discuss topics such as proposal support, employees with special skillsets, training interest, online tutorial sessions (i.e., updating resumes, corporate management seminars), shared information obtained at conferences and/or technology presentations, global engineering industry news, and individual and team awards and recognition. Although a separate application, messages generated through the social media tool are displayed in the company s email inbox. The IM feature is very beneficial because employees can simultaneously review a document or spreadsheet and communicate/provide input to one another via online IM, instead of over speakerphone which can be very distracting for employees operating in a cube farm type environment (common practice within the industry). To date, I have not viewed the internal social media and instant messaging (IM) tools as obstacles; however, my email inbox gets very populated by the numerous social media messages from employees who are sharing information or requesting support.. Work Rate and Oxygen Uptake The Relationship Between Work Rate And Oxygen Uptake During Incremental Submaximal Exercise Introduction Oxygen uptake () describes the rate at which oxygen is utilized by tissues (Burton et al, 2004). is determined by heart rate (heart beats each minute), stroke volume (the volume of blood pumped from one ventricle each beat) and arteriovenous oxygen difference (difference in blood oxygen content between arterial and venous blood). Oxygen is needed for respiration, the chemical process that produces energy in the form of ATP. Several sources agree that oxygen uptake increases linearly with exercise, this is due to the skeletal muscles requirement for more oxygen for the production of more ATP. Hanson et al (1998) measured... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the participant in this trial to sustain 60rpm, their muscles must produce progressively more force after each increment, as 0.5kg resistance is applied to the flywheel each time, therefore the energy demands of the muscle progressively increase. A deviation from the trend during the middle of the trial was not expected as most sources agree the relationship is linear (Burton, Г–zyener, Glassford), however Astrand (1961) found a non linear steeper increase in during the middle stages. Astrand s non linear pattern may be explained by production of power increasing to a point beyond the lactate threshold, the point at which lactic acid starts to accumulate in the blood. A slowly developing increase in during constant work rate exercise performed above the lactate threshold produces a curvilinear relationship and is known as the slow component of kinetics (Jones et al, 2011). The cause for the steep increase at the final stage of the trial is supported by the research of Bernard et al (1996), who measured the effects of increasing exercise intensities recording oxygen consumption and heart rate simultaneously. Findings revealed a significant correlation with the best predictions of from work rate observed at higher intensities. Bernard s findings support results in table 1 that ... Exploring Ways Of Assist And Or Intervene At Risk Students The purpose of this study is to explore ways to assist and/or intervene at risk students in order to set them on the path towards graduation. The NCES reported the graduation rate declined from 12% to 7% during 1990 2013. These are good improvements, however, we must continue take the necessary steps to lower these numbers for future generations. Graduation will open up a world of opportunities that might not other wise be available to them without a high schooldiploma. According to an article in PBS Frontline in 2012, an individual without a high school diploma can earn, a national average of, $20,241 a year. That is $10,386 less than a person who graduated from high school. $10,000 does not sound like a lot of money spread out over an entire year, but it averages out to be an extra $200 a week. In my opinion, that is significant. Someone who goes on to earn their bachelor degree can expect to earn an additional $36,364 per year. What many students do not understand is that without high school graduation they cannot enter the military or qualify for many lower scale jobs as these require a diploma or high school equivalency. There are so many factors that contribute to a student s decision to stay in school or to dropout but if communities and schools can intervene, maybe the national dropout rate can be lowered lending to a better life for all involved. There are four different types of evidence, direct, circumstantial, physical, and testimonial. Direct evidence is evidence that is in the form of a testimony that someone has seen, heard, or physically touched (Direct evidence, 2008). Since there was the creation of newer hospitals and facilities, the communities in Williamsburg benefited from better healthcare. On top of that improved security and better housing structures made health better in Williamsburg. Since levels of education are also increased by gentrification, health got a major boost. These show that health, in general, was improved by gentrification. However, access for the more impoverished families was still an issue due to the high charges. When the values of property rise, the original residents are affected both positively and negatively. However, they are affected more negatively as they are forced to vacate their homes as they can no longer afford the rent. This leads to displacement of more impoverished families. On top of that, they are forced to spend a lot on rent alone in case they stay. This might affect their finances, and they could end up bankrupt. Their health may deteriorate too because of depression as well as higher charges in the hospital. The main furniture in the scene is Cleophon s oak desk, covered with parchment, emphasizing Cleophon s business and desperation to stop the Peloponnesians. On the back wall of the office is a wall painting of Dike holding a scale of justice, representing the ironic injustice of the scene. Cleophon is seated at his desk, wearing a simple chiton to suggest his lack of concern for flamboyant, elite garments. The actor is in his early 30s, as the true age of Cleophon is not known. This age emphasizes the perspective difference between Cleophon and the older oligarchs with their superiority complex. The scene will begin with focus on a distressed Cleophon, busily working at his desk on plans to unite the people against the Peloponnesians.
