My mind is a lot stronger than my body and I can t lie and say that it doesn t bother my state of mind
on most days. I have to fight against the pain that I feel everyday and try not to complain about it
unless it s completely unbearable at that moment. It can take a good thirty minutes to an hour to get
out of bed when I wake up because my limbs might be temporarily paralyzed or my heart is

days can seem like an impossible feat because I never know how my body will respond. Most
bloggers are great at planning their blog schedules ahead of time and sticking to it. To be honest, I
started to develop blogger envy because I would read posts about how well other bloggers could stick
to their schedule and because of their consistency, their following grew exponentially. I was struggling

The creators of this poster did an excellent job in creating a presentation that allowed for the viewers
gaze to easily flow across the content of the poster in a manner that aided in the viewers ability to
interpret the poster. The aspect of this poster that I found most appealing was the use of images and
the minimal amount of text used. Posters with excessive text appear daunting to the viewer and the
meaning of the results is easily lost under the mass of text. I particularly found the neatly constructed
map at the center of the poster to be helpful in aiding my understanding of the significance of this
range expansion. Also, the placement of this map in the center of the poster immediately draws the
viewers attention to a depiction of the key results that the authors are trying to convey. The only
poorly constructed aspect of this poster was the images of the Arkansas Darter. These images were

Diversity In Literature
On October 18 I attended Dr. Ramona s star lecture Justice for All. Dr. Ramona discussed how justice
plays a role in children and young adult literature. She shows how important it is to not only show
differsity in books but also how important it is to make sure that everyone can read and has access to
books. She spoke on how importance of main characters that have similar backgrounds am you, but
also to be able to see people with different backgrounds doing the same everyday activities as you.
In this paper, I will argue that having different cultures represented in children s books is an important
part of children s literature. I will argue this by showing how it influences our views, and opens our

I think that children especially show be shown that although people may look different, or have
different beliefs they go through similar things that they do like trying to make friends, first day of
school and playing in the snow. I think that is important to show this because allows people to realize
that everyone goes through similar things, and no one is better than anyone else. Diverse characters in
children s literature have been used for many years to introduce children to a variety of cultures and
ethnic peoples (Smith D Arezzo 75). Show children other cultures also makes it seem more familiar
with it, and it allows them to have a better understanding of other cultures, and races. Showing
differences and similarities opens people s opinions and views, creating a better understanding of
