Becoming An Exotic Dancer
Me: How old were you when you entered the exotic dancing field? Dancer #2: I was 18 years old
when I started dancing. Me: What was your reason/s for entering the field? Dancer #2: As soon
as I turned 18 my top concern was to become independent as soon as possible. I really wanted my
own independence, never having to ask my parents for money, even though I know they were
more than willing to provide me with it. I hated the fact that they paid for basically everything my
car, food, clothes etc. I had a job as a waitress before I started stripping, but living in New York is
not cheap at all. My income as a waitress wasn t nearly enough to survive on and it drove me crazy.

I was always basically the good girl coming from a good family, having the perfect grades all my
life, never even had a parking ticket, but once I saw this ad there was something about the idea
of exotic dancing that s captivated my imagination. It s so funny now that I look back on it,
before the contest I brought my first pair of 6 inch platform heels and then I practiced walking
around my room then I got myself a lingerie set. On the night of the show I was so nervous. I
was terrified of me tripping over my feet in those 6 inch platform heels. I don t know but once I
hit that stage it was like something just a complete hold over me, and I was totally natural when it
came to stripping. I ended up placing second place and making $600 that night my first night. After
that contest I knew my life change forever and this would be the start of own

Ethics, Metaphysics, Religion, Epistemology, And Anthropology
Introduction
Philosophy is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence. After taking
this course, I have a stronger understanding of what philosophy is and how my life is based
around everyday theories and ideas. Before beginning this course, I had no prior knowledge on
what philosophy was or how important it is for an individual s success. Ethics, Metaphysics,
Religion, Epistemology, and Anthropology are five main philosophy topics that I related to quite
easily. Many different philosophers and their theories were easy for me to understand along with
relating to them in hopes of becoming a better individual based on the lessons each topic provides.
Ethics Ethics can be defined as a set of moral principles that ... Show more content on

In class we discussed the existence of God along with life after death. Having a religious
background allows me to understand metaphysics and reality, considering my faith revolves
around the existence of God and life after death. Being Lutheran, I do believe in God and the
powerful gifts/events that are intertwined with God. Life after death is a sore subject for many
individuals regardless of their religious beliefs, but I believe that people either are sent to heaven
or hell. Yin and Yang Theory The Yin and Yang Theory provided more information than I had
ever known about this theory. I found Yin and Yang relatable because I have two adoptive
Chinese sisters. While walking around through the streets of China, I hear a lot of discussions
regarding Yin and Yang (good or bad). I believe that there is a difference between good or bad and
that the imbalance might not be evenly divided like the Chinese population states.

Essay about The Physics of Car Collisions
Basic Concepts
Issac Newton was the first to state the concepts that are necessary to understanding the physics of
collisions. His three laws are used again and again in all the fields of physics:
Newton s 1st Law
In the absence of external forces, an object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in
motion with a constant velocity.
This law can be best observed in space, far from the gravity of a star or planet, where there is no
friction or air resistance. If, in the middle of deep space, you give a rock a little push, it will
continue with the direction and velocity you gave it forever. The only way to stop it is to apply a
force in the opposite direction. This law is not intuitive because we are surrounded ... Show more

Every single action has an equal and opposite reaction. If you were standing in the middle of a
perfectly slick frozen lake, and needed to get off, you could throw an object away from you.
When you applied force to the object you threw, it also applied an equal force pushing you back.
You would travel in the opposite direction from the throw, although slower, because you probably
have mass more than the object you threw.
Static and Kinetic Friction
Friction is a key concept when you are attempting to understand car accidents. The force of
friction is a force that resists motion when two objects are in contact. If you look at the surfaces of
all objects, there are tiny bumps and ridges. Those microscopic peaks and valleys catch on one
another when two objects are moving past each other.
This explanation is a little simplified. There are other processes at work, including chemical
bonding and electrical interactions.
The level of friction that different materials exhibit is measured by the coefficient of friction.
The formula is Вµ = f / N, where Вµ is the coefficient of friction, f is the amount of force that
resists motion, and N is the normal force. Normal force is the force at which one surface is being
pushed into another. If a rock that weighs 50 newtons is lying on the ground, then the normal force
is that 50 newtons of force. The higher Вµ is, the more force resists motion if two objects are
sliding past each other.
There are

Chapter 30 Ap Euro Outline Essay
Chapter 30: The West at the Dawn of the 21st Century~.
The 20th century movement of people:
The Soviet communists forced removal of the Russian peasants and the Nazi s deportations and
execution of European Jews were only the most dramatic examples of this development.
Many moved from the countryside to the cities.
Other vast forced movements due to the government caused millions of Germans Hungarians,
Poles, Ukrainians, Bulgarians, Serbs, Finns, Chechens, Armenians, Greeks, Turks, Balts, and
Bosnian Muslims to be displaced.
This forced displacement transformed parts of Europe.
Displacement through War:
WWII created a huge refugee problem.

Toward the Welfare State Society:
During the Cold war era, the nations of Western Europe achieved economic prosperity and
maintained independent, liberal democratic governments.
The end of WWII saw vast constitutional changes in much of Western Europe.
The construction of stable, liberal, democratic political frameworks became a major goal of their
postwar political leaders, as well as of the U.S.
The Great Depression had shown that democracy requires a social and economic base, as well as a
political structure.
Most Europeans came to believe that governments ought to ensure economic prosperity and social
security.
Christian Democratic Parties:
Except for the British Labor Party, the vehicles of the new postwar policies were not, as might have
been expected, the democratic socialist parties.
Outside Scandinavia, those parties generally did not prosper after the onset of the Cold war, they
were oppressed by communists and conservatives.
Rather, various Christian democratic parties introduced the new policies.
The postwar C.D Ps of Germany, France, Austria and Italy were progressive and welcomed non
Catholic members.
Democracy, social reform, economic growth, and anticommunism were their hallmark.
The events of war years largely determined the political leadership of the postwar decade.
After 1947, however, in a policy that U.S naturally favored, communists were systematically
excluded from

Analysis Of Reunion By John Cheever
In Reunion by John Cheever, Charlie writes a letter to his father, letting him know he will be in
New York for a few hours waiting for his train. His dad secretary wrote him back saying his
father would meet him at noon. Charlie was excited to see his dad after three years because his
mom divorced his dad. When Charlie sees his father, his dad puts his arm around him. Charlie
says, ... and I smelled my father the way my mothersniffed a rose. It was a rich compound of
whiskey, after shave lotion, shoe polish and the rankness of a mature male (201). They go to a
restaurant before his dad takes him to the club that he goes to. When they got to the restaurant
Charlie s father is disrespectful to the waiter, so they get up and leave. They went to four
restaurant and Charlie s father behaved the same way at every single restaurant they went to.
Eventually, they run out of time and Charlie has to make his way back to the train and they did
not get to go to the club like his father planned. After that day, Charlie never saw his father again.
Environment has a negative impact on identity because it causes people to be self centered.

North Korea s Moranbong Band, My Heart
Performed by North Korea s Moranbong Band, My Heart is a song of contrast. Contrast between
complex and straightforward, and bright and dark, both in the instrumentation and lyrical content. It
is inside of these contrasts that the listener can begin to understand the song s political message.
Beginning with sudden, energetic burst of violins, piano, electric guitar, electric bass, and a drum
kit, the song s intro is heavily syncopated and rhythmically varied. After a short call and response
section between the piano and rest of the band, every instrument in unison performs a rising, 8th
note riff that connects to the verse. It is here when the vocals come in where the intro s powerful
energy slides into a less driving, more mellow mood. The intro grabs the listener s attention, but
once the lyrics come in the music slides back to allow the singer to be dominant.
Rhythmical, the core of My Heart lies in the 4/4 time signature with emphasis on the backbeat.
While the bass sticks to hitting quarter notes with the drums, guitar and piano provide syncopation
in the verses by playing on the offbeats. Together with a tempo that comfortably... Show more

While the lyrics do not shy away from displaying the political message outright, the music also
carries this message. By utilizing contrasting elements, such as the march like beat with sudden,
syncopated moments, and the bright instrumentation with dark harmonics, My Heart could be
interpreted as a battle between opposing forces, and calling on the North Korean citizens to stand
up and back their country in order to win any upcoming conflicts. The song feels like a march,
further elevating its political, militaristic message. The lyrics talk about giving everything to the
country, and the dark chords and rich backing vocals give these lyrics a dramatic weight that could
help persuade listeners to follow the narrator s example of

What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from great loneliness of

The love I have for orangutans comes from an early age. Like most little sisters, my older brother
ruthlessly teased me. When I was a baby he would make me mimic funny faces and stick my hair up
on end. He said I looked like an orangutan. His teasing continued, but instead of getting mad, I
became interested. I began taking a look at these creatures and soon discovered that being compared

Unfortunately, this is no longer the case, and natives are stripping away these creatures habitats for
commercial business. If things don t change, it is believed that orangutans will be extinct in the
wild in as few as ten years. This is something that can only be changed with human intervention.
Two major causes of orangutan endangerment are the illegal selling of baby orangutans and the
unlawful logging of the rainforest in which they live. The bond between a mother orangutan and
her baby is the longest childhood dependence of any animal in the world. Orangutans will only
have one child about every eight years. Baby orangutans nurse until they are about six years old
and then they still stay close to their mothers for a few more years. Female orangutans will
sometimes stay with their mother until their adolescents, in order to learn how to take care of their
own babies by watching their mothers take care of a younger sibling.
The already low natural population increase makes any killing a major threat to the survival of the
species. Because babies stay with their mother for so many years, the only way to capture one is to
kill the mother. Although highly illegal, baby orangutans are being sold as family pets as a high
commodity on the black market. When the babies

Tio2 Acetaminophen Analysis
TiO2 assisted photodegradation of acetaminophen Acetaminophen (adapted name for Paracetamol
or APAP) is a widely used painkiller, which has found its way to our aquifer (figure5).
Concentrations around 0.11Ојg/l have been reported in water streams in the U.S9. The concern
around toxicity and analgesic action of this drug has motivated researchers to explore various
techniques for an efficient treatment. A group of Chinese researchers have utilized suspended TiO2
at different pH values in a photochemical reactor for APAP treatment.
A halide lamp was inserted in a solution containing APAP and TiO2 already equilibrated for 20
min. Samples were taken in specific time intervals after irradiation. Initial concentration of the
APAP was determined... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to the applications mentioned already, they can be utilized in a number of treatment
strategies. For example, photocatalysis can be used for water disinfection to destroy humic
substances, viruses and bacteria and even toxic chlorinated compounds. Heavy metals like Hg, Cr,
Pb, Cd, As and Ni are removed from water using photocatalysis. Photodynamic therapy is another
novelty in the field of photocatalysis. Radicals generated by illumination of light on TiO2 target
cancer cells and destroy them2. It should be stated that further investigation is necessary in order to

The Importance Of The Hawthorne Effect
In middle school and high school, everyone at some point or another ends up playing the game
would you rather with their friends. This game can potentially show a side of someone that their
friends may not know about them. For example, if there is a girl, Suzie, and her friends give her
the choice of, would you rather date Jake or Thomas? Her friends may not know that she has a
crush on Thomas and if she answers truthfully, then they would possibly find out about the
crush. This example is a small portion of what the big picure is with this game, it is meant to
help show who you really are and what your personality is and what your preferences are. The
question at hand now would be would I rather have someone follow me around all day while I go
about my daily routine undergoing an objective test, or take a series of projective tests. I would
definitely go with a series of projective tests. Since I have a pretty good grip on what my
personality is and what type of personI am, I am very prone to the Hawthorne Effect. The
Hawthorne Effect is a type of reactivity where the individual changes their behavaior becuase
they are aware they are being watched (Rosenberg and Kosslyn, 2014). If I was going to have
someone follow me around all day while I do my daily activities, I would not be acting like my
normal self because I would know that I am being watched for a study. Some other reasons why I
would not go with the objective test is because there are four different

Robbie stabbed Tommy after the alteration in the bank where Tommy punched Robbie in the
face. For Robbie to complete the actus reus of murder, the stabbing needs to be the reason for
Tommy s death. Nevertheless, Robbie stabbing Tommy does not need to be the sole or even the
main cause of Tommy s death. Robbie s stabbing needs only to make a substantial contribution to
the killing as decided in R v Cheshire. In order for Robbie to satisfy the elements of the actus
reus, he must also satisfy causation. R v White, sets out the but for test which asks; but for the
actions of the defendant, would the result have occurred? Robbie stabbing Tommy twice is the
only reason for Tommy s death. R v Cato also held that the defendants conduct must be more than
a minimal cause of the consequences, but it is not required for it to be the substantial cause.

from the stabbing were the reason for his death and he would not have died had Robbie not stabbed

Foreign Affairs. During the Meiji Period, Russia began to meddle with foreign imperialism in the
Asian region.
Military Affairs. Russia was not involved in too many wars during this time period, the only major
one being the Russo Japanese War. This was a war between Japan and Russiafor imperial rights
over Korea within the Asian Peninsula. Russia wanted Korea so that they would have a port on
the Pacific Ocean, for both trade and military reasons. This made the war at hand very important,
as securing Korea could not only give them a port on the Pacific but also give them more land to
expand their country into. Throughout the late 1800 s, the amount of imperialistic territory that a

Senior Management Commitment
As Harris and Davenport mention in Competing on Analytics , it is extremely necessary for
management to support and commit to integrating analytics in order for a company to become an
analytical competitor. (Davenport and Harris, 2007) Specific to Impax, there has been a lot of
recent change in management and minimal push down to incorporate analytics for better decision
making. While we are capable and do utilize a fair degree of analytics in our day to day operations,
unfortunately, I find its use tends to be more retroactive in nature than proactive.
Large Scale Ambition
I think this idea of large scale ambition is more an area of opportunity for Impax. We tend to use
the more tried and proven analytical techniques found in the pharma industry and lack a clear
strategic focus to take us outside the box into new and unchartered competitive territory. Again, this
is not too far strayed from management s survival approach or our distinct capability to manage
revenue; however, Harris and Davenport mention ambition can present risk, but the scale and scope
of results should be at least large enough to create company fortunes. (Davenport and Harris, 2007)
Describe your company s progress within each stage of competing on analytics.

An oligopoly is a market situation in which relatively few sellers [like Burger King, McDonald s]
compete and high start up costs form barriers to keep out new competitors [like Five Guys Burgers
and Fries] (Boone and Kurtz, 2012, p. 80). Within this competitive fast food burger industry, the
main product being offered is a hamburger.
However, one of Five Guys unique features compared to Burger King and McDonald s is to only
offer fresh, never frozen, eighty percent lean meat burgers that are made to order. Many of the
traditional fast food burger restaurants, only offer frozen patties cooked in advanced, and stored
under heated lamp until ordered by the customers. They also offer the customers seventeen free
toppings for their burgers. Additionally, they use the same kind of bun for the burgers; as well as
the original baker.
Subsequently, Five Guys does not sell dehydrated French Fries unlike its competitors. Their
potatoes are slowly grown in Northern Idaho, where the weather conditions are quite favorable for
growing solid and tasty potatoes. Many of the competitors reduce their costs by purchasing
potatoes from California or Florida, where they are grown fast and are a lot cheaper. Five Guys
guarantees freshness by cutting the potatoes every morning while leaving slivers of skin on.

Humanistic Theory On The Jarvis Family
Implementing the Humanistic Theory on the Jarvis Family Introduction Most cases that are
being investigated by social work agencies often include various parts, people and ways in which
the client is helped. The case involving the Jarvis family is a case of reported sexual child
abuse. Child Welfare Services became aware of the abuse when Kay Partridge, school nurse,
contacted the agency in fear of the children s well being. The case came about after Marie and
Joanne Jarvis teachers noticed a change in the girls behaviors and had reported in to the principle
who then contacted Ms. Partridge. Eventually Marie and Joanne had admitted that their father,
Kenneth Jarvis, had been sexually abusing them for years. Also, their mother, Jean Jarvis, had
admitted to know about the abuse, but was unsure of how she could protect both herself and her
children from Mr. Jarvis. As a result, the agency is hoping to work with Mrs. Jarvis and her
daughters to help them cope with the effects of the incident can have on Marie, Joanne, and Mrs.
Jarvis. In order to help the family, the social worker would implement a human behavior therapy as
a way for both parties to understand why they, the client, are behaving in a certain way. It also helps
to identify ways that the client can further be helped. The implementation of the humanistic theory
is a useful way to gain a better understanding of the client and their behavior as whole. Issues Due to

Pros And Cons Of Enlightened Absolutism
Enlightened Absolutism A number of rulers in18th century Germany began enacting enlightened
reforms of their own. Including increased religious tolerance, an abolition of torture and increased
freedom of the press. Whether these reforms were a result of the increased pressure on German
rulers from the bourgeoisie to introduce enlightened policies, or whether they were simply the result
of the Royals being influenced themselves by enlightened thinkers remains unclear. However, what
is clear is that even these enlightened despots continued to harbour a belief in their own divine right
to rule (Coy, 2011). Their measures to implement enlightened reforms were often only carried out

His parents Frank and Isobel Hawking resided in London, though because World War II was in full

help but feel the way she does, and so the move she makes at the end, focusing on the house
instead of her situation, marks the beginning of her slide into obsession and madness due to her
husband trying to completely control her life. The narrator does everything that she can take
her mind off of being trapped in the room by herself all day. One of the main thematic
components that changes throughout the story is how she occupies herself, So I will let it

Summary Of Wars Of The Roses By Alison Weir
In this book, Alison Weir tells the events and people behind what she describes as the first Wars
of the Roses , which covers the roots of one of England s bloodiest civil wars and traces its path
through the reign of Edward IV.The war between the houses of Lancaster and York for the throne
of England was characterized by treachery, deceit and at St Albans, Blore Heath and Towton, some
of the bloodiest and most dramatic battles on Englands soil. Weir is of the opinion that the conflict
began with the horrible reign of Richard II, historians disagree over this statement. The Wars of the
Rosesare one of the most confusing periods in English history. From the origins in the rivalries

Factors That Affect Access For Complementary Therapies
In this assignment I will be explaining factors that affect access to complementary therapies; I will
then explain how the use of complementary therapies is regulated. Then I will explain the
principles and practises of complementary therapies I will then go on to discuss complementary
therapies that are available for users of Health Social Care services.

P2
The practice of conventional medicine is regulated by special laws that ensure that practitioners are
properly qualified, and keep to certain standards or codes of practice.
Regulation of complementary and alternative medicine
Currently, practitioners of two complementary and alternative medicines are regulated in the same
way as practitioners of conventional medicine. They are osteopathy and chiropractic. This regulation
is called statutory professional regulation.
This regulation makes sure that registered practitioners of osteopathy and chiropractic are properly
qualified and that they practise in a way that is safe and ethical, following the standards and codes
set by their professional regulators.
A regulation exists to protect a patient s safety on its own it doesn t mean that there is scientific
evidence that a treatment is effective.
Unregulated complementary and alternative medicines
In the UK there is currently no statutory professional regulation of any other complementary and
alternative medicine practitioners.
This means, for example that anyone in the UK can legally call themselves a homeopath

Whitbread World Sailboat Race
Project Plan for Whitbread World Sailboat Race The following paper analyzes the Whitbread
World Sailboat Race case scenario presented at the end of chapter 9 in the Gray and Larson text,
Project Management: the Managerial Process. The project encompasses two main objectives; one,
design, build and test a new vessel, and two, select and train a crew capable of winning the race.
Both objectives must be completed within 45 weeks, the start of the race, and with a planned
budget of $3.2 million. Initial projections show that the current schedule will take 50 weeks to
finish with a final budget estimate of $3.152 million. Although the project estimate comes in under

Table 1 shows the Whitbread World Sailboat Race priority matrix as described above. With clear
expectations of which activities take precedence, the Bjorn project team can then analyze the
various events to determine which can be crashed and the additional costs associated with doing
so. This analysis should be done prior to finalizing the project network because not all events
will be crashed in order to keep costs to a minimum. Placing the events in a Gantt chart will help
clarify and organize the events, the order in which they will occur, as well as any preceding
activities that must be accomplished. Table 5 shows the project s normal conditions, their
timeframes and associated costs. As noted, normal conditions require 50 weeks to complete and
therefore, cannot be used. Table 6 is a similar chart showing the project under ultimate crash
conditions. As mentioned earlier, the project can be accomplished in as little as 42 weeks if every
activity is crashed. This scenario is not desired however, because the project s budget then
approaches $5 million in associated costs, over 50% beyond the original allotted expenditure. To
arrive at the optimal schedule, Bjorn and his team must consider which activities to accomplish
using normal conditions and which activities to crash that keeps the budget to a minimum. To
accomplish this, using table 2 we first notice that activities C, E, G, H, N, O, and P cannot be
crashed and therefore,

The third step is planning and this involves the development of goals and outcomes whereby a plan
of care is designed to help assist the patient to achieve the goals by resolving the identified
diagnosis. Implementation involves translation of the plan to action. The final step which is the
evaluation involves the determination of the extent to which the outcomes have been achieved or
not.
According to NANDA International, Inc. (formerly the acronym to North American Nursing
Diagnosis Association) medical diagnosis deals with disease or medical conditions. However
nursing diagnosis deals with the human response to actual or potential health problems and life
processes. This has been elucidated with an example that points to the differences in how a doctor
and a nurse would approach the same health condition. The medical diagnosis of cerebrovascular
attack (stroke) would provide one with the information about the patient s pathology. When we look
at the complimentary nursing diagnoses such as impaired verbal communication, risk for falls,
interrupted family processes and powerlessness, they provide with a more holistic understanding of
the impact of that stroke on this particular patient and his family. Thus it also direct nursing
interventions to obtain patient specific outcomes (NANDA International n.d.).

risk their lives for the Untied States of America, but they cannot drink in America. Which brings
up the question how can you die for something and not be given all of the freedoms you are
fighting for? There has been reports from overseas in other counties with lower age limits that

Video Games and Violence
There are probably millions and billions of video games sold every year to people. Some people
seem to believe that violence correlates directly with video games. Video games are something
that is usually a big interest in people at the ages of 13 to 19 years old. Video games usually start
off as a little fun and then turn into a major hobby for some people. Emotions change based on
whatever happens while a person is engaging in these games most of the time. These games are
another way to observe how people react emotionally to these games.
These video games have ratings made officially by the Entertainment Software Rating Board or
ESRB for short. Video game ratings go in a specific order ranging from Rated EC which means
Early Childhood to Rated RP which means Rating Pending. There are also more ratings in this
guide such as Rated E for Everyone and Rated T for Teens ages 13 and older ( ESRB Ratings Guide
).These video game ratings help the person who is purchasing these games by showing what age is
recommended for the person to be able to play the games.
The Entertainment Software Ratings Board also makes content descriptors. These tell the people
who are buying these games what the game they are buying contains such as, blood and gore
which contains content only for ages 18 and up. Another descriptor is known as use of drugs which

The Creation Story In Skywoman Falling
In the excerpt Skywoman Falling from the book Braiding Sweetgrass written by Robin Kimmerer,
We say that humans have the least experience with how to live and thus the most to learn we must
look to our teachers among the other species for guidance (9). Even though the human species think
they know almost everything, they have been on earth for the least amount of time in comparison
to other species; therefore, humans have the most learning to do. Skywoman Falling involves a
protagonist, Skywoman, who creates the earth from her bare hands and her knowledge from the
Skyworld. Skywoman created the earth from her own ideas, free will, and knowledge. Another
creation story is Paradise Lostby John Milton, which involves mainly Satan, God, Adam, and Eve.
God has all of the past, present, and future knowledge; however, Satan is trying to ruin all of God s
plans. Satan does this by shapeshifting and tempting Adam and Eve. Skywoman Falling involves a
protagonist, Skywoman, along with many different animals. In the beginning of this short story,
Skywoman falls from a hole in the Skyworld, but soon animals come help her to create a safe
landing. The animals then assisted Skywoman in collecting mud from the bottom of the sea, and
she then placed the mud on a turtle s back and began to dance around, eventually creating the earth.
Another creation story is Paradise Lost by John Milton. This story is about Satan rebelling against
God, and Satan trying to ruin God s plans. He does

These ideals are at the core of Buddhist tradition and they exemplify right ways of living in

I can almost picture Kandinsky s brush moving around the painting in quick, swooping motions.
The linear design of the painting is clear with the vertical and horizontal, fine lines painted as
squares.
Without a doubt, the all at onceness of the painting is created by the color. Kandinsky used such a
wide range of color techniques that when I close my eyes upon viewing the painting, the image
is still present. The colors are bright primary and secondary colors mixed with more earthy hues.
The two overlapping circles on the bottom left are made evident by the low value of the green
mixing with the saturated red to create almost a black. The contrast created by the black and yellow
square touching is eye catching. The gradation in the upper left square is evident by the
continuous changes from the swirl surrounding the circle. It changes from yellow to green, then
to blue and back to yellow! Can you feel the excitement in my description? This is what the
painting makes me feel while participating. Despite the sectioned off circles and squares, the
painting demonstrates unity. That is, the painting forms togetherness, despite contrasts of details
and regions. The color also helps define the depth. As depth was clearly seen in Nighthawks, the
depth of Colour Studie is not as readily evident. Look at the bottom left square. The circle seems
somewhat flat. Now view the upper left square. It gives the feeling of protrusion. It seems as if the

Where The Sidewalk Ends By Shel Silverstein Summary
In Shel Silverstein s poem Where the Sidewalk Ends , Silverstein displays the stark contrast
between a sidewalk and where the area where sidewalk ends, both literally and figuratively. The
poem begins with a serene description of the area where the sidewalk ends, where it is described to
be bright and sunny with the wind blowing in the background, next to a bird resting on it. However,
the next stanzaof the poem starkly contrasts this serene image with a dark contrast of the
sidewalk next to the end of it. In this area, it is dark and dismal, and the dark street winds and
bends . However, from there, the street has arrows that point toward the place where the
sidewalk ends. While the poem could be taken literally, it can be a metaphor for life, where
childhood is the place where the sidewalk ends and adulthood is the street. Like the end of the
sidewalk, childhood is often seen as bright and serene, without a worry in the world. On the other
hand, adulthood, like the street, is often dark and filled with depression, with the other way to
reverse the effects is to resort back to a childlike mind set.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The tone of this stanza is peaceful as it shows what the end of the sidewalk is like. In this area,
the speaker of the poem describes it as an innocent area, where the sun is able to shine upon the

Additionally, the speaker emphasises the pure and prestige nature of the end of the sidewalk
through the use of anaphora by repeating And there the in lines 3,4, and 5, which also end in the
same rhyme. This is stanza could also be seen as a metaphor for childhood, as it is often as pure
as the end of the sidewalk ends. As this area is beautiful and like a fantasy, it is just like the mind
of a child, full of utopian beauty and

Future Human Space Exploration And Operations
Asteroids will provide the means to transform future human space exploration and operations in to
large scale activities. They will first provide a rich source of minerals and material for initial
economic expansion and concurrently providing platforms for operations and manufacturing.
Eventually, asteroids could be used as space vehicles to move humans across and possibly beyond
the solar systemeffectively becoming mobile bases of operations and even space colonies. The only
significant limitations for this future growth are technological capability and legal ambiguity for
large scale human space activity. For any space activity to overcome its limitations and get off the
ground, the activity must generate a great deal of interest.
Asteroids have long been of high interest to the scientific community to help answer many early
solar system mysteries. However, industrialists such as Deep Space Industries have taken an
interest in these objects as well1. They are already creating companies to attempt mining some of
these objects. Upon close inspection the composition of asteroids relative to Earth something
amazing appears. Asteroids contain as much or orders of magnitude more than the Earth critical
materials needed to create a thriving economy2. This explains the interest in space industrialists
particularly when considering our current capability for creating spacecraft.
Current space launches can be prohibitively expensive and dangerous. The cost per pound has

Compare And Contrast Sumer And Babylon
Impact of Fertile Cresent Cultures
Sumer and Babylon
Both, the people that belonged to Sumer(Sumerians) and Babylon (Babylonians) were part of the
early/ancient Mesopotamian civilizations; however since Sumer was the first civilization on record
in Mesopotamia and started off much more early than the Babylonian civilization, it couldn t have
adapted anything that the Babylonian civilization created. However the other way around.
Babylonians did adapt some things about the Sumerians and had some similarities in their culture,
but they still stayed original in their way.
First off, the Babylon empire was much more expanded, bigger, than Sumer due to the Babylonian
ruler, Hammurabi, who is famous for his ruling and Hammurabi s code; The Sumers ... Show more

Another governmental similarity would be that they both consisted of a lot of city states in
Mesopotamia.
Both civilizations fell apart but made a comeback which led to eventual downfall again. Sumer s
destruction was caused by the extreme drought, which as we know, left salt deposits that destroyed
the crops in Sumer, after that, it got conquered by the Akkadians. Time later, Sumerians made a
comeback, taking back their Land, expelling the invaders, but that did not last long since Amorites
came and invaded the region.
A similar thing happened to the Babylon empire, it was invaded/conquered by the Kassites in
1595, staying in power for 400 years but then got overcome by the Assyrians. The Babylon
Empire, Neo Babylonian empire then rose back to power in 626 BC, led by the son of King
Nabopolassar, Nebuchadnezzar II, he was responsible for leading the built of the Hanging Gardens
of Babylon. Unfortunately, it did not take long for the Neo Babylonian empire to fall after
Nebuchadnezzar II died, when the Persians invaded

Mark Apartheid
I couldn t understand why he and his people had to have all the luxuries money can buy, while I
and my people lived in abject poverty. Was it because they were whites and we were black? Were
they better than we? (Mathabane 191), Mark made this remark after seeing a white person s house.
When Mark was an adolescent apartheid was in full swing. Segregation completely separated races
in South Africa. Of course the blacks and coloureds of South Africalived in poverty stricken ghettos
and did not have much. Mark s house was repulsive and the whole community lived in poverty and
feared the Peri Urban(police). Meanwhile, In the Smith s white home there were surplus food and
toys and the community was booming with skyscrapers and mansions. The differences Mark
notices when he visits the Smith perfectly illustrates the unequal distribution of wealth in South
Africa during the Apartheid era.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his home Mark notes how he constantly hear the squeaks in the cupboard while he tries to sleep
and termite eaten door... and a floor made of patches of cement and earth (Mathabane 31). These are
horrible living conditions however this was the normal house in Alexandra, the community was no
better. The community of Alexandra was described by Mark as a shantytown of mostly shacks, a
few decent houses, lots of unpaved, potholed streets ( Mathabane 4). Along with frequent police
searches these ghetto communities were ravished by Apartheid and the white neighborhood clearly

  • 2. Becoming An Exotic Dancer Me: How old were you when you entered the exotic dancing field? Dancer #2: I was 18 years old when I started dancing. Me: What was your reason/s for entering the field? Dancer #2: As soon as I turned 18 my top concern was to become independent as soon as possible. I really wanted my own independence, never having to ask my parents for money, even though I know they were more than willing to provide me with it. I hated the fact that they paid for basically everything my car, food, clothes etc. I had a job as a waitress before I started stripping, but living in New York is not cheap at all. My income as a waitress wasn t nearly enough to survive on and it drove me crazy. I felt so trapped. Me: How did you go about becoming an exotic dancer?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was always basically the good girl coming from a good family, having the perfect grades all my life, never even had a parking ticket, but once I saw this ad there was something about the idea of exotic dancing that s captivated my imagination. It s so funny now that I look back on it, before the contest I brought my first pair of 6 inch platform heels and then I practiced walking around my room then I got myself a lingerie set. On the night of the show I was so nervous. I was terrified of me tripping over my feet in those 6 inch platform heels. I don t know but once I hit that stage it was like something just a complete hold over me, and I was totally natural when it came to stripping. I ended up placing second place and making $600 that night my first night. After that contest I knew my life change forever and this would be the start of own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Ethics, Metaphysics, Religion, Epistemology, And Anthropology Introduction Philosophy is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence. After taking this course, I have a stronger understanding of what philosophy is and how my life is based around everyday theories and ideas. Before beginning this course, I had no prior knowledge on what philosophy was or how important it is for an individual s success. Ethics, Metaphysics, Religion, Epistemology, and Anthropology are five main philosophy topics that I related to quite easily. Many different philosophers and their theories were easy for me to understand along with relating to them in hopes of becoming a better individual based on the lessons each topic provides. Ethics Ethics can be defined as a set of moral principles that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In class we discussed the existence of God along with life after death. Having a religious background allows me to understand metaphysics and reality, considering my faith revolves around the existence of God and life after death. Being Lutheran, I do believe in God and the powerful gifts/events that are intertwined with God. Life after death is a sore subject for many individuals regardless of their religious beliefs, but I believe that people either are sent to heaven or hell. Yin and Yang Theory The Yin and Yang Theory provided more information than I had ever known about this theory. I found Yin and Yang relatable because I have two adoptive Chinese sisters. While walking around through the streets of China, I hear a lot of discussions regarding Yin and Yang (good or bad). I believe that there is a difference between good or bad and that the imbalance might not be evenly divided like the Chinese population states. Wu ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay about The Physics of Car Collisions Basic Concepts Issac Newton was the first to state the concepts that are necessary to understanding the physics of collisions. His three laws are used again and again in all the fields of physics: Newton s 1st Law In the absence of external forces, an object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion with a constant velocity. This law can be best observed in space, far from the gravity of a star or planet, where there is no friction or air resistance. If, in the middle of deep space, you give a rock a little push, it will continue with the direction and velocity you gave it forever. The only way to stop it is to apply a force in the opposite direction. This law is not intuitive because we are surrounded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Every single action has an equal and opposite reaction. If you were standing in the middle of a perfectly slick frozen lake, and needed to get off, you could throw an object away from you. When you applied force to the object you threw, it also applied an equal force pushing you back. You would travel in the opposite direction from the throw, although slower, because you probably have mass more than the object you threw. Static and Kinetic Friction Friction is a key concept when you are attempting to understand car accidents. The force of friction is a force that resists motion when two objects are in contact. If you look at the surfaces of all objects, there are tiny bumps and ridges. Those microscopic peaks and valleys catch on one another when two objects are moving past each other. This explanation is a little simplified. There are other processes at work, including chemical bonding and electrical interactions. The level of friction that different materials exhibit is measured by the coefficient of friction. The formula is Вµ = f / N, where Вµ is the coefficient of friction, f is the amount of force that resists motion, and N is the normal force. Normal force is the force at which one surface is being pushed into another. If a rock that weighs 50 newtons is lying on the ground, then the normal force is that 50 newtons of force. The higher Вµ is, the more force resists motion if two objects are sliding past each other. There are

The 20th century movement of people: The Soviet communists forced removal of the Russian peasants and the Nazi s deportations and execution of European Jews were only the most dramatic examples of this development. Many moved from the countryside to the cities. Other vast forced movements due to the government caused millions of Germans Hungarians, Poles, Ukrainians, Bulgarians, Serbs, Finns, Chechens, Armenians, Greeks, Turks, Balts, and Bosnian Muslims to be displaced. Toward the Welfare State Society: During the Cold war era, the nations of Western Europe achieved economic prosperity and maintained independent, liberal democratic governments. The end of WWII saw vast constitutional changes in much of Western Europe. The construction of stable, liberal, democratic political frameworks became a major goal of their postwar political leaders, as well as of the U.S. The Great Depression had shown that democracy requires a social and economic base, as well as a political structure. Most Europeans came to believe that governments ought to ensure economic prosperity and social security. Christian Democratic Parties: Except for the British Labor Party, the vehicles of the new postwar policies were not, as might have been expected, the democratic socialist parties. Outside Scandinavia, those parties generally did not prosper after the onset of the Cold war, they were oppressed by communists and conservatives. Rather, various Christian democratic parties introduced the new policies. The postwar C.D Ps of Germany, France, Austria and Italy were progressive and welcomed non Catholic members. Democracy, social reform, economic growth, and anticommunism were their hallmark. The events of war years largely determined the political leadership of the postwar decade. • 8. North Korea s Moranbong Band, My Heart Performed by North Korea s Moranbong Band, My Heart is a song of contrast. Contrast between complex and straightforward, and bright and dark, both in the instrumentation and lyrical content. It is inside of these contrasts that the listener can begin to understand the song s political message. Beginning with sudden, energetic burst of violins, piano, electric guitar, electric bass, and a drum kit, the song s intro is heavily syncopated and rhythmically varied. After a short call and response section between the piano and rest of the band, every instrument in unison performs a rising, 8th note riff that connects to the verse. It is here when the vocals come in where the intro s powerful energy slides into a less driving, more mellow mood. The intro grabs the listener s attention, but once the lyrics come in the music slides back to allow the singer to be dominant. Rhythmical, the core of My Heart lies in the 4/4 time signature with emphasis on the backbeat. While the bass sticks to hitting quarter notes with the drums, guitar and piano provide syncopation in the verses by playing on the offbeats. Together with a tempo that comfortably... By utilizing contrasting elements, such as the march like beat with sudden, syncopated moments, and the bright instrumentation with dark harmonics, My Heart could be interpreted as a battle between opposing forces, and calling on the North Korean citizens to stand up and back their country in order to win any upcoming conflicts. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the children of the earth. Chief Seattle The love I have for orangutans comes from an early age. Like most little sisters, my older brother ruthlessly teased me. When I was a baby he would make me mimic funny faces and stick my hair up on end. He said I looked like an orangutan. His teasing continued, but instead of getting mad, I became interested. I began taking a look at these creatures and soon discovered that being compared to one wasn t completely wrong. Actually,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, this is no longer the case, and natives are stripping away these creatures habitats for commercial business. If things don t change, it is believed that orangutans will be extinct in the wild in as few as ten years. This is something that can only be changed with human intervention. Two major causes of orangutan endangerment are the illegal selling of baby orangutans and the unlawful logging of the rainforest in which they live. The bond between a mother orangutan and her baby is the longest childhood dependence of any animal in the world. Orangutans will only have one child about every eight years. Baby orangutans nurse until they are about six years old and then they still stay close to their mothers for a few more years. Female orangutans will sometimes stay with their mother until their adolescents, in order to learn how to take care of their own babies by watching their mothers take care of a younger sibling. The already low natural population increase makes any killing a major threat to the survival of the species. Because babies stay with their mother for so many years, the only way to capture one is to kill the mother. Although highly illegal, baby orangutans are being sold as family pets as a high commodity on the black market. When the babies ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The concern around toxicity and analgesic action of this drug has motivated researchers to explore various techniques for an efficient treatment. A group of Chinese researchers have utilized suspended TiO2 at different pH values in a photochemical reactor for APAP treatment. • 11. The Importance Of The Hawthorne Effect In middle school and high school, everyone at some point or another ends up playing the game would you rather with their friends. This game can potentially show a side of someone that their friends may not know about them. For example, if there is a girl, Suzie, and her friends give her the choice of, would you rather date Jake or Thomas? Her friends may not know that she has a crush on Thomas and if she answers truthfully, then they would possibly find out about the crush. This example is a small portion of what the big picure is with this game, it is meant to help show who you really are and what your personality is and what your preferences are. The question at hand now would be would I rather have someone follow me around all day while I go about my daily routine undergoing an objective test, or take a series of projective tests. • 17. Humanistic Theory On The Jarvis Family Implementing the Humanistic Theory on the Jarvis Family Introduction Most cases that are being investigated by social work agencies often include various parts, people and ways in which the client is helped. The case involving the Jarvis family is a case of reported sexual child abuse. Child Welfare Services became aware of the abuse when Kay Partridge, school nurse, contacted the agency in fear of the children s well being. The case came about after Marie and Joanne Jarvis teachers noticed a change in the girls behaviors and had reported in to the principle who then contacted Ms. Partridge. Eventually Marie and Joanne had admitted that their father, Kenneth Jarvis, had been sexually abusing them for years. Also, their mother, Jean Jarvis, had admitted to know about the abuse, but was unsure of how she could protect both herself and her children from Mr. Jarvis. As a result, the agency is hoping to work with Mrs. Jarvis and her daughters to help them cope with the effects of the incident can have on Marie, Joanne, and Mrs. Jarvis. In order to help the family, the social worker would implement a human behavior therapy as a way for both parties to understand why they, the client, are behaving in a certain way. It also helps to identify ways that the client can further be helped. The implementation of the humanistic theory is a useful way to gain a better understanding of the client and their behavior as whole. Issues Due to the events that had occurred with Kenneth ... They are osteopathy and chiropractic. This regulation is called statutory professional regulation. This regulation makes sure that registered practitioners of osteopathy and chiropractic are properly qualified and that they practise in a way that is safe and ethical, following the standards and codes set by their professional regulators. This analysis should be done prior to finalizing the project network because not all events will be crashed in order to keep costs to a minimum. Placing the events in a Gantt chart will help clarify and organize the events, the order in which they will occur, as well as any preceding activities that must be accomplished. Dykes In this paper, I will discuss the form, content, and subject matter of three different paintings. Each of the paintings represents the following: representational painting, abstract painting, and a portrait. The paintings I have chosen are: Edward Hopper s Nighthawks 1942, Wassily Kodinsky s Colour Studies: Squares and Concentrentic Circles 1913, and Pablo Picasso s Self Portrait 1907. Representational paintings show clear objects or events and have a clear subject matter in the painting. The subject matter is quite evident in Edward Hopper s Nighthawks. I can almost picture Kandinsky s brush moving around the painting in quick, swooping motions. The linear design of the painting is clear with the vertical and horizontal, fine lines painted as squares. Without a doubt, the all at onceness of the painting is created by the color. Kandinsky used such a wide range of color techniques that when I close my eyes upon viewing the painting, the image is still present. The colors are bright primary and secondary colors mixed with more earthy hues. The two overlapping circles on the bottom left are made evident by the low value of the green mixing with the saturated red to create almost a black. The contrast created by the black and yellow square touching is eye catching. The gradation in the upper left square is evident by the continuous changes from the swirl surrounding the circle. It changes from yellow to green, then to blue and back to yellow! Can you feel the excitement in my description? This is what the painting makes me feel while participating. Despite the sectioned off circles and squares, the painting demonstrates unity. That is, the painting forms togetherness, despite contrasts of details and regions. The color also helps define the depth. As depth was clearly seen in Nighthawks, the depth of Colour Studie is not as readily evident. Look at the bottom left square. The circle seems somewhat flat. Now view the upper left square. It gives the feeling of protrusion. It seems as if the circle is popping out of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Where The Sidewalk Ends By Shel Silverstein Summary In Shel Silverstein s poem Where the Sidewalk Ends , Silverstein displays the stark contrast between a sidewalk and where the area where sidewalk ends, both literally and figuratively. The poem begins with a serene description of the area where the sidewalk ends, where it is described to be bright and sunny with the wind blowing in the background, next to a bird resting on it. However, the next stanzaof the poem starkly contrasts this serene image with a dark contrast of the sidewalk next to the end of it. In this area, it is dark and dismal, and the dark street winds and bends . However, from there, the street has arrows that point toward the place where the sidewalk ends. While the poem could be taken literally, it can be a metaphor for life, where childhood is the place where the sidewalk ends and adulthood is the street. Like the end of the sidewalk, childhood is often seen as bright and serene, without a worry in the world. On the other hand, adulthood, like the street, is often dark and filled with depression, with the other way to reverse the effects is to resort back to a childlike mind set.... Additionally, the speaker emphasises the pure and prestige nature of the end of the sidewalk through the use of anaphora by repeating And there the in lines 3,4, and 5, which also end in the same rhyme. This is stanza could also be seen as a metaphor for childhood, as it is often as pure as the end of the sidewalk ends. They will first provide a rich source of minerals and material for initial economic expansion and concurrently providing platforms for operations and manufacturing. Eventually, asteroids could be used as space vehicles to move humans across and possibly beyond the solar systemeffectively becoming mobile bases of operations and even space colonies. The only significant limitations for this future growth are technological capability and legal ambiguity for large scale human space activity. For any space activity to overcome its limitations and get off the ground, the activity must generate a great deal of interest. Asteroids have long been of high interest to the scientific community to help answer many early solar system mysteries. However, industrialists such as Deep Space Industries have taken an interest in these objects as well1. They are already creating companies to attempt mining some of these objects. Upon close inspection the composition of asteroids relative to Earth something amazing appears. Asteroids contain as much or orders of magnitude more than the Earth critical materials needed to create a thriving economy2. This explains the interest in space industrialists particularly when considering our current capability for creating spacecraft. Current space launches can be prohibitively expensive and dangerous. However the other way around. Babylonians did adapt some things about the Sumerians and had some similarities in their culture, but they still stayed original in their way.
