A Society On The Struggles Of Women Essay
Introduction This purpose of this paper is to educate the society on the struggles of women in the
scientific field and the unfair treatment when it comes to accomplishments and pay for these
hardworking individuals.
Back in time, men have always been superior to women almost in every way except for staying
home, keeping the place tidy, and taking care of children. When it came to education and work,
men were definitely the dominant sex in these areas. Today, women have showed their strength and
perseverance in education and career, but they still experience discrimination and pay gaps in the
scientific field. Why are there more men than women present in this career path? From a female
who is in this field, there is a clear pattern in the office area of the chemistry department here at
Montclair State University. There are currently fourteen males who teach the subject of
chemistry compared to three females. This paper will help to demonstrate the statistics and
problems that are faced by women. Another science, physics, also has very few women in its
field and this is showed in Eileen Pollack s The New York Times article Why Are There Still So
Few Women in Science? when she mentions The new study goes a long way toward providing
hard evidence of a continuing bias against women in the sciences. Only one fifth of physics Ph.D.
s in this country are awarded to women,...; of all the physics professors in the United States, only
14 percent are women (Pollack, 2013).

experiences of nurses grief after patient death
Experience of Grief Following Patient Death: A Concept Analysis Karen D. Panganiban
Resurrection University Abstract This is a concept analysis on the experiences of grief of
registered nurses in the fields of oncology, pediatric ICU and adult ICU after a patient dies. The
paper describes the reactions of nurses and how they are able to cope with grief. It also discussed
the available resources that they use within their institution in response to the death of the patient.
The concept analysis method that was used was based on: epistemological, pragmatic, linguistic
and logical principles. Extensive literature search was done to review the concept mentioned. The

2009). Nurses view that it is essential to form a relationship with the patient in order to provide
care for the dying. It depends on the level of engagement of the nurse on how easily or how hard
she can cope with the lost a patient (Shorter Stayt 2009). Some nurses immersed themselves and
put themselves on the patient s shoes in order to develop that connection often times they would
even asked relatives how the patient was like when he/she was still well. The significance to the
staff is also influenced more if both the caregiver and the patient shared the same demographics
and culture. On the contrary some nurses try to distant themselves and try to avoid being too
close to the patient and the family to shield them from grief. Nurses view patient death in two
ways (a). Good death and (b). Bad death.( shorter Stayt 2009). A good death is when the nurse is
prepared and knows that death is imminent. The nurse has an idea on how the course of the
treatment will be,it is therefore deemed less traumatic for them. Bad death happens when the
demise of the patient is sudden. Feelings of regret and guilt plagues the caregiver, often wondering
what could have been done to avoid death. Pragmatic The operationalized view regarding this
concept can be understood on the implication of the analysis on nursing practice. If the nurse had a
positive experience during initial death experience or support they don t feel devastated and
traumatized they carry that

Recording Studio Technology and the Producer
Studio technology has developed drastically over the years and has become ever more vital to the
record producer within the music industry. Different producers make use of studio technology in

The Presidential Election Of 1980 Essay
On Tuesday, 4 November 1980, The United States presidential election of 1980 was held. The
competition was between incumbent Democratic President Jimmy Carter and his opponent, former
Californian Republican Governor, Ronald Reagan. Reagan, assisted by a falling economy
complicated by inflation and high unemployment, and the Iran hostage crisis, Reagan would win
the election in a sweep, receiving the largest number of electoral votes ever tallied by a presidential
candidate not currently in office. Jimmy Carter, who beat out Edward M. Kennedy for the
nomination for Democratic leader, attacked Reagan as a wild right wing fundamentalist. The
former actor, Ronald Reaganpledged to elevate the cynical mood of the nation, and won a
conclusive victory. This election marked the creation of what was called the Reagan Revolution,
and indicated a conservative repositioning in national government.
Throughout the 1970s, the United States underwent a wrenching period of low economic growth,
high inflation and interest rates, and intermittent energy crises. In the spring and summer of 1979,
inflation was on the rise and various parts of the United States were experiencing energy
shortages, Carter was widely blamed and planned on delivering a major speech about energy
conservation, but he thought the American public did not care for what he had to say. In the mist
of all this, Carter went on the presidential retreat for the bilateral treaty on Camp David. For more

Postive Effects of Medieval Social Classes Essay
The development of social classes in medieval England affected life for the people in many positive
ways. It served as a means of organization to base their daily lives off of, and also gave the peasants
and trade classes protection from the rulers and the clergy class in return for their labor and
allegiance ( Quizlet ). Life in the Middle Ageswas based on the framework of social classes so they
could flourish socially and economically. The British class structure was a configuration of five
main classes. The King owned all the land and distributed portions of it to his nobles. He was part
of the ruling class, along with the Pope and the rest of the royalty (Pattie). The Pope was the
religious ruler and had power over the church and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Monks were the scholars of this time period, and they spent the majority of their time praising
God and attending prayer meetings and church. The last group of people in the clergy class was
the nuns. They weren t as intellectual as the monks, so their jobs involved catering to the
people by nursing the sick to health in the infirmary, educating young children, and caring for
orphans (People of the Middle Ages ). The next group of people was in the middle class. They
were the citizens of the town, and they acquired high amounts of money so that their families
could live comfortable lives. The mothers in these households were not obligated to work
because the man of the house could financially support the whole family ( Middle Class ).
Sometimes they had servants to help the women with household chores and duties like cooking,
cleaning, and caring for the children. This class also included shipmen, cooks, and high class
merchants (Schwartz). Below the middle class was the trade class, which included merchants and
craftsmen. Men involved with retail would travel great distances to achieve authority and power
over certain trade routes ( Middle Ages: The Medieval Social Classes ). The trade class hugely
impacted the towns and the people because their income and trading skills helped to stabilize the
economy. Peasants and the middle class often disagreed with the work of the merchants because the
priests and the bishops were highly against it. They believed

The Mountain Man Brewing Company Expansion
Guntar Prangle founded Mountain Man Brewing Company in 1925 in West Virginia and is still
owned and operated by his family and commands among the highest brand loyalty rates of any beer
brand.
Mountain Man Brewing Company is considering an expansion of its product line due to declining
revenues. The family owned beer producer has built a strong brand around its prize product,
Mountain Man Lager, over its last 70+ years of operation. Due to its highly valued brand, the
organization is particularly fearful of the negative effect alternating its product mix could have on
its reputation and image and the potential for customer alienation.
The primary objective of this case is to determine if Chris Prangel, the marketing operations
manager of Mountain Man Brewing Company, will unveil the Mountain Man Light. Introducing
such a product would be in line with the increasing market demand for light beer products, which
would ultimately cater to the young adults preference for light beer.
Problem Statement
Revenue has been slowly eroding as increasing competition in a maturing market and new products
threaten to pull customers away from the brand. With the lite beer drawing more younger and
female consumers away from the traditional darker lager, Mountain Man is not attracting the
younger adults and female consumers with its current ale.
Designing a lite draft will answer the call of the younger generation and female consumers at the
expense

Betty Friedan Women
For years, women have fought to gain the same rights and treatment as men. Those women that
have been fighting to gain equality have been held back and their opportunities have been stripped
away from them due to the simple fact of being women. Feminism is the belief in social, political,
and economic equality of the sexes (Scholz 2013). The feminist movement has been the key factors
in helping women gain equal rights for those who have been underprivileged of their rights and

A feminist is an advocate for equality and recognizes the worth of a woman (Allen, Few, and
Lloyd 2009). Betty Friedan was a well known feminist (women s rights activist) a social justice
leader and journalist. Betty Friedan s personal oppressions started during her childhood.
Everything that played a part in her growth and development was because of her mother, Marian
Goldstein, who grew hatred towards her husband s Jewish background because it made them
socially unacceptable. Her mothers anti Semitic Jew attitude was embedded into Friedan at a
young age (Antler 1998). The families Jewish background did not allow for them to attend the
country club and it permitted her from joining a sorority in high school. Because of this, she lost
friends in school. Determined to make people respect her as a woman, she became the editor of
her schools paper. She was so focused and brilliant that she realized that being at the top in her
class was the reason she could not find love, so she gave up school. This decision made room for
her to get married and become the one thing she was determined not to become, which was her
mother. She found herself walking closely in her footsteps, so she used this as one of her

Daniel 6: 6 10

the decided to attack connection with his God.) Will write in this part... Soon...
Introduction of Points:
Prayer is the most power thing you have in your toolbox. There are so many things you can do
true this thing we call prayer. Prayer can get you out of trouble even when people are trying to
put in you trouble. As we look at our text today we see that now the administrators and people

He knew that no matter what was going on at the governmental level, he knew what was going
on that the Godly level was more powerful. Today we live in world were things have never
happened before, we have leaders much like the satraps and administrators. The person in
charge of the United States is signing orders and laws that don t make any sense are often times
they do not line up with we as follower of Christ believe. But how many times to we look at
these things and immediately turn off the TV and pray about them like we ought ton as Daniel
did? The passages tell us that when he knew the word knew in the tense lets me know that he
found out fairly quickly and being as how he was an administrator he would have known almost
instantly. But he didn t call his buddies to complain but he decided to go to God in prayer.
Application:
When you have conversations with people they don t mean anything all to often we want to call
up people a gossip and just talk about our problems but that does not yield anything you still
must go back to what you were doing before the situation occurred, but when you talk to God that
is a conversation that has power. That is a conversation that has some backbone, you can pray to
King Darrius if you want to but what is he going to do about and plus he can t hear them all, But
God hears every prayer and cad do something about it!

The Politics Of The Middle Class Essay
reform was mounted by an alliance that brought together wealthy industrialists and other members
of the upper class, but moved beyond to well educated members of the middle class, as well as
middle class voters. Reformers aimed to break down the political organization that thrived on
immigrant votes and claimed to break down the corrupt government that thrived on the public s
purse. Concerns about political corruptionwere closely connected to the rising fear of immigrants
notably, the Great Unwashed . They wanted to make local government more efficient and
accountable for the tastes and preferences of the middle class. Unlike most machine bosses and
their followers who had little formal education, many reformers were upper class wealthy
industrialists. The strong contrast between the educational background, class status, and interests of
the reformers and political machines contribute to reasons for why there seems to be a struggle for
power with the reformers representing the upper class and the, political machines representing the
working class and immigrants. In addition to the basis for their formation, the legislature that had
been put in place by the reformers is not only proof of this struggle for power, but also further
disadvantaged the working class and empowered the upper class. Reformers initiated several
positive reforms to change the patronage system of government, but many of them had
repercussions that adversely affected working class citizens. To combat

The Federal Budget Deficit
The Federal Budget Deficit Introduction The federal budget deficit is a much discussed and
little understood subject in American politics. The current recession has dramatically decreased
tax revenues, driving the United States federal government to increase spending in an attempt
to stabilize the economy. As a result the current federal deficit is at over $1.3 trillion dollars.
This is approximately $47,754 per U.S. citizen or $137,552 per U. S. taxpayer (U.S. Debt Clock:
Real Time, 2012). Many contend that deficit reduction is imperative to our prosperity and
economic recovery. The deficit is blamed for a variety of economic ills including high interest
rates, unemployment, the trade deficit, the low rate of national saving and low productivity
growth (Shaviro, 1997). The Causes of the Budget Deficit Many believe the country s dramatic
decent into debt began with a choice, not a crisis. In January of 2001, with the budget balanced,
the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) forecast that the nation would have over a $2 trillion
dollar surplus by 2010, enough money to pay off the entire national debt. In the years following

Aesthetics And Its Impact On The Lives Of People
Abstract Aesthetics is an esoteric subject but manages to be appealing to many readers. Aesthetics
are a form of philosophy which deals with nature, beauty, art, and taste and appreciation for truly
beautiful things. From art aesthetics to, aesthetic judgment, normativity in aesthetics et cetera et
cetera. Aestheticsin general have been around for centuries. The most significant figures in the
aesthetic tear of philosophy are figures such as Plato, Emmanuel Kant, Friedrich Nietzsche. It s a
major explanation on why we view things the way we do and why are they stimulating. This essay

The unrecognized significance of Aesthetics I think everything in life is art. What you do, how
you dress, the way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality, what
you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea, how you decorate your home,
or party; your grocery list, the food you make, how your writing looks, and the way you feel.
Life is art. Helena Bonham Carter. Everything I seem to appreciate I note that one way or
another I end up relating whatever it is that stimulates my mind to art always. I m constantly
thinking in my mind how the smallest of things can drastically change the appearance of things,
the way they make you feel and communicate essentially. One word in which you can observe me
saying nearly in every sentence is the word aesthetic . The word aesthetic lacks usage and is
absent in the vocabulary of various people I have spoken to throughout my life, by no means am
I suggesting for the word to be clichГ©d, but it is note worthy to say that it is definitely under
used. Aesthetics are essentially the reasoning and acumen behind literally everything you can
think of. It s the reason you wear those shoes your currently wearing, because they look nice . It s
the reason you are with your girlfriend and vice versa because you guys. It s literally the reason
behind why you put that specific piece of furniture you

Communication Is An Important Part Of A Business
Communication is an important part of a business to work. For a working environment to succeed,
a company s ideas, knowledge, or opinions are useless unless there is effective workplace
communication. Upward communication is the flow of information from frontline employees to
managers, supervisors, and directors. This process differs from the more commonly used method of
downward communication. Both communication processes require individuals to exchange
information with one another with the mindset to influence one s thoughts, behaviors, increase
understanding, and help the organization function smoothly. There are different variables that play
a part in organizational communication and a key factor is listening.
Within an organization, there are various methods of providing and gaining information. As
previously mentioned, upward communication is where employees speak directly to management.
This method allows employee s to participate in the organization. This open door policy keeps
managers aware of how subordinates feel about their job tasks, procedures, and the organization in
general. This communication channel implements a method called serial communication. Serial
communication is a type of upward communication method that passes information consecutively
from one person to another (Aamodt, p. 396). This system is similar to a chain reaction, where a
message is given from an employee to a supervisor till it eventually reaches an executive.

Civilian Job Specifications And The Army
Civilian Job Specifications and the Army Leadership Attributes Civilian Organizations and the
Army as an Organization Phillip Pandy University of Texas at El Paso Abstract The Army is
one of the largest organizations in the world. The Army is global; the Army is technologically
advanced and maintains its own infrastructure. What allows the Army to be the modern day
force that it is today? The Army has values, and expects results from its soldiers. This culture has
created employees that lead the sons and daughters of our nation. Civilian Job Specifications and
the Army Leadership Attributes Job specifications simply put are knowledge, skills, abilities and
other characteristics (KSAOs) that a potential employee must have in order to fill his/her
position at a level sufficient with that of the employers expectations. The Army when viewed as
an organization requires its employees; employees being its Soldiers, to uphold a certain level of
ethical behavior as well as project a professional image. This ethical behavior is combined with a
number of attributes that reflect an individual s performance and upward mobility. These Attributes
are grouped into six categories; Character, Presence, Intellect, Leading, Developing and Achieving.
The traits that are placed into these categories range from one s ability to have confidence all the
way down to how prompt one may be when obtaining results. The professional image eluded to

Public Transportation Bill Essay
Background Public transportation is serious need of a massive overhaul in this nation. We are in
desperate need to catch up to the European standard of public transportation in this country. In
Europe, citizens can travel across cities, bodies of water, and even counties with their state of the
art public transportation system. Europeans are not nearly as reliant on cars and oil as the United
Statesis because they have the much more practical option of taking the transportation provided to
them by the government to where ever they need to go. They have set a model that the United
States needs to strive for and meet in the near future. The government is pouring billions of dollars
every year to sustain and attempt to fix the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We have to become more responsible in our way of life and realize that oil will soon run out at
current rates and we have to embrace public transportation now if we are to succeed in the
upcoming future. Also, our goal is to make this a greener nation. By reducing the number of cars
on the road and making it possible for every citizen to have access to public transportation, we can
reach this goal. It is our duty and responsibility to take care of the planet and make sure that we do
not cause our own destruction. Reducing carbon emissions and greenhouse gasses will put our
nation on the right path for the future.
Our Plan With the overall objective in mind of providing public transportation to all Americans,
we have to understand all of the different modes of transportation that need to be reconstructed
and funded properly. America is a geographically diverse nation and all need to be taken into
account to meet the growing demand of transportation over these differing regions. First off, we
have to address states that must begin to rely on ferry transport across bodies of water. The ferry
system needs adequate funding so that commuters can cross bodies of water such as the Puget
Sound and Chesapeake Bay. Docks, landings, ferry boats, and employees will all need funding to
ensure that this happens. Water public transportation is an unutilized territory and in this growing
age we hope to help it strive. We plan to rebuild ferry landings

Cultural Esthetics In The Tale Of Genji By Murasaki Shikibu
Japanese aesthetics have a big role in the cultural consciousness of Japan. In the book, The Tale
of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu, a boy named Genji is known to be gifted and undeniably
handsome. Genji was the son of the Emperor and his favorite concubine, a secondary wife of a
lower rank, during the Heian period. Shortly after Genji s mother gives birth to him, she passes
away from being ill. The first part of the novel talks mostly about Genji s romances, but
throughout the rest of the novel it exemplifies how easily he falls in love with women, including
his father s new concubine. The use of Japanese aesthetics of iyashi, mono no aware, and yГ»gen in
the novel The Tale of Genjireflects the aesthetic and cultural consciousness of Japan. Throughout
the novel, the cultural aesthetic of iyashi is reflected. Iyashi is a sense of comfort or a peaceful
calm state of mind. After some time that the emperor s concubine passed away he was thinking
about how he was able to survive months without her presence. Looking at the keepsakes MyЕЌbu
had brought back, he thought what a comfort it would be if some wizard were to bring him, like
that Chinese emperor, a comb from the world where his lost love was dwelling (Shikibu 16).
The emperor really wanted his boy back and it would be relieving if someone would literally
bring him back. Iyashi is being reflected because if someone actually brought him his child he
would feel calm by the fact that he can actually build a bond with him and

The Roots of Inequality
How can the entire Inca empire that consisted of millions of people be decimated by only 200
Europeans? The answer is is inequality. Inequality has been around since people started
civilizations, Mainly the Europeans. The Europeans were able to decimate entire cultures because
they had Suitable crops, domesticable animals, immunity to many diseases, and steel, and all of
those are affected by geography climate and pure luck.
To find out how the Europeans got lucky and achieved total conquest you need to know what they
had on their side. The first thing Europeans had was crops and agriculture. The Europeans started

germs originated from animals and people got them because they drank their milk, ate their meat
and were in close proximity to them and thus the germs spread from animals to people. Germs
gave the Europeans a secret advantage because they could kill thousands of their enemies without
even stepping on the battlefield. The incan empire lived high up in the mountains and interacted
with very few people. They did domesticate Llamas but they did not live in very close proximity

When people think of Homeland Security most people think of Border Protection, Immigration
agents, TSA, and maybe FEMA but there are many more aspects of Homeland Security which often

22 different Federal agencies which were combined and absorbed into this one department. This
consolidation was intended to streamline the exchange of information and cooperative efforts
towards the mission of securing this nation. This vision of cooperation has helped create a safer
environment in the United States, and helped prepare emergency personnel in the detection,
prevention, and response to both natural and man made disasters. As part of the cooperative effort...

The Automobile Trade between Canada and USA
Canada and United States Automobile Trade
Abstract
The Automobile trade between Canada and USA holds relevance to both countries and their
economic prosperities. The trade between the two neighbors became more pronounced after the
signing of APTA in 1956. Following that further agreements like FTA which later became
NFTA lifted the tariff from other goods as well. This paper reveals how the free trade allowed
America and Canada to work in tandem to import and export vehicles across the border and to
other places in the world. The impact of trade agreement made the country s auto sectors and
GDP enhance several folds. Canada gained a lot more from the trade as its economy needed a
bigger boost than America. In the production of automobiles, America is the dominant player in
making the parts where as Canada assembles it into a vehicle. The trade also paved way for
Vertical Specialization as is discussed in the paper. The trade between the two nations saw a
downward drift following the 2008/2009 energy crisis that majorly targeted the United States. Since
the Canadian market is linked to America s market, it also became a victim of crisis in the auto
industry. Despite these troubles, both the nations have attempted to stabilize the problems and still
carry on trade and thus progress their import and export quantity as well. Overall, this paper
emphasizes the importance of the joint collaboration of both countries in automobile industry and its
success.

Charles Schaeffer And Friedrich Nietzsche Essay
Introduction Born nearly 70 years apart from each other, Francis Schaeffer and Friedrich Nietzsche
were two very important figures in creating the modern philosophy. Two different men that studied
two different parts of philosophy. Because of their differences, most are unable to recognize their
many similarities. Each of the men had the things they studied, but the basis of their theories were
almost identical.
Nietzsche
One of the commendable influential philosophers in the history of ideas and a gifted stylist in his
native German, Friedrich Nietzsche undertook a radical re evaluation of established ideas and
critiqued moral values during his career. One of Nietzsche s primary studies was on the problem
of morality. However, he seems to contradict himself on the matter of values. Tansesi claims it is
because of the different definitions of value values in a descriptive sense as that which is thought to
be of value by an individual or by the members of a group, and values in a normative sense as
that which is objectively of value (652). Because of Nietzsche s committed denial of any moral
values, it would seem impossible to attribute him to him a commitment to the existence of any
values in the normative sense (652). In Thus Spake Zarathustra, he claims that to value is to create,
and that it is only through valuing that there is value. In the same section it is also claimed that
men did not discover values, nor were they given by a god; rather, human beings

Scripture In Kinder s Essay
This psalm begins by promising blessings to all those who choose to keep God s law; while the
ungodly, who reject it, will ultimately perish. As Kinder (1973) concludes, But the Day will
disclose the man of straw as surely as the works of straw (p. 65).
The company a man keeps testifies of his character. People of the same sort or with the same tastes
and interests will be found together. As the old proverb states, birds of a feather flock together .
The psalmist tells us that those who delight in the law of the Lord (Ps. 1:2), will not be found
taking advice from or keeping company with the ungodly. As the New Testament Scripture instructs,

Fable For Tomorrow Summary
A Health Crisis; Facing Genetic Modification
Industrial Agriculture has casted a shadow of death upon the health of our environment and
bodies (Carson 49). In her essay Fable for Tomorrow, naturalist Rachel Carson alerts the public on
the inevitable danger rooted from the use of pesticides to the environment. She argues that the
interference with nature using GMO and pesticides create a danger for us, internally and
externally. Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are living organisms whose genetic material
has been artificially manipulated through genetic engineering ( GMO Facts ). For instance, if you
have a tomato, and you want it to stay fresh for a longer period in cold temperatures you can take

By educating people on GMO they learn how to identify these products and therefore, how to
avoid them. People can do this through public campaigning and voting against GMOs. One way
to identify if the food is free of genetic modification is by looking for the NON GMO project
stamp on the products case. We can also enforce building community farms in neighborhoods
where the residences can help to garden and care for the plants. This way people can get clean,
healthy food which they will benefit from and so will the surrounding environment. Most of their
fruits and vegetables would not be store bought, meaning the large GMO companies like
Monsanto, Bayer, and Syngenta will lose their buyers and profits will hopefully decrease. By doing
this more people will demand fresh, natural plants that will keep them

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night Poem Analysis
Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night One of the key aspects of poetry is the theme of a
poem. Through his writing, Dylan Thomas is a good example of how to use many different
methods to display the feeling and emotion behind his writing. One example of his skill in this area
is in the poem Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night . This poem has a theme about fighting
against death, which is seen through the use of literary devices such as repetition, symbolism, and
rhymescheme.
One way that the poem demonstrates its theme is through its use of repetition. This can be seen
through the repetition of the phrase do not go gentle into that good night throughout the poem. As
this phrase is also the title of the poem, it clearly has a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in the context of the poem, it also emphasizes how even though these people know this,
they still fight. This symbolism helps to keep the reader invested in the poem. Another example of
symbolism is seen in the quote wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight This quote
emphasizes the other part of the symbolism, how light represents life. In this quote, this
symbolism is carried out by using the sun to represent light. The sun represents the life in the
wild men . These men represent how the author feels that people should live when faced with the
threat of death. Lastly, the poem uses the literary device rhyme scheme to demonstrate its
theme. The first place that this can be seen is in the line old age should burn and rave at close of
day . This line is one of the first in the rhyme scheme. This poem is a villanelle, which has a very
specific rhyme scheme. This is a difficult rhyme scheme to use in English because there aren t
that many words that rhyme. It takes a lot of skill for a writer to create an emotion poem with
this form. The use of this rhyme scheme helps to keep the entire poem connected. A second
example of the effect this rhyme scheme has is in the quote and you, my father there on the sad
height; Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray . These are 2 of the final lines of the
poem. These lines reveal to the reader who the poem is about, and why the subject matter is so
important

The Expulsion of Freedom
According to Jean Jacques Rousseau, human beings are bestowed with the blessings of freedom
during their individual genesis on this fruitful planet, but this natural freedom is immensely
circumscribed as it s exchanged for the civil liberties of the State. He indicated that the supplanting
of natural freedom is necessary for the obtainment of greater power for the greater collective
community, but the prospect of obtaining superlative capabilities comes with the price of
constraints. Yet this notion of natural freedom conflicts with Thomas Hobbesrendition on the state
of nature because he illustrates that nature, interface through savagery. According to Hobbes,
mankind has endorsed and embraced natures temperament, because this system of... Show more

The illusion of a free society with unbiased laws created by the collective and ratified by the
legislator, enables the society to have a sense of morality and perform a ceremonial civic duty to
uphold the laws they finance with commitment. Rousseau states in the opening page that, Man is
born free, but everywhere he is in chains. One thinks himself the master of others, and still remains
a greater slave than they. These chains that Rousseau refer to are the constraints that are
strategically placed on the freedom of the residents of the state. Since laws consult the public
interest of the people collectively and suppress the private interest of the individual, they are
essentially chains on the minds and souls of mankind, because people are used as vessels by the
state to fulfill its agenda, under the guise and illusion of individual power to implement change in
the collective.
The author of Leviathan, Thomas Hobbes eloquently emphasizes that the state of nature is, in its
rawest essence, chaotic and savage. In Chapter thirteen of his work Leviathan, he depreciates man s
role in the state of nature by saying, the life of man, solitary, poore , nasty, brutish and short (pg.
186). From his perspective, due to the fact that humans dwell in this catatonic state of destitution,
humans naturally yearn for peace. Hobbes suggest that through the formulation of Leviathan
through a social contract, achieving peace is a more

  • 2. A Society On The Struggles Of Women Essay Introduction This purpose of this paper is to educate the society on the struggles of women in the scientific field and the unfair treatment when it comes to accomplishments and pay for these hardworking individuals. Back in time, men have always been superior to women almost in every way except for staying home, keeping the place tidy, and taking care of children. When it came to education and work, men were definitely the dominant sex in these areas. Today, women have showed their strength and perseverance in education and career, but they still experience discrimination and pay gaps in the scientific field. Why are there more men than women present in this career path? From a female who is in this field, there is a clear pattern in the office area of the chemistry department here at Montclair State University. There are currently fourteen males who teach the subject of chemistry compared to three females. This paper will help to demonstrate the statistics and problems that are faced by women. Another science, physics, also has very few women in its field and this is showed in Eileen Pollack s The New York Times article Why Are There Still So Few Women in Science? when she mentions The new study goes a long way toward providing hard evidence of a continuing bias against women in the sciences. Only one fifth of physics Ph.D. s in this country are awarded to women,...; of all the physics professors in the United States, only 14 percent are women (Pollack, 2013). ... Nurses view that it is essential to form a relationship with the patient in order to provide care for the dying. It depends on the level of engagement of the nurse on how easily or how hard she can cope with the lost a patient (Shorter Stayt 2009). Some nurses immersed themselves and put themselves on the patient s shoes in order to develop that connection often times they would even asked relatives how the patient was like when he/she was still well. The significance to the staff is also influenced more if both the caregiver and the patient shared the same demographics and culture. On the contrary some nurses try to distant themselves and try to avoid being too close to the patient and the family to shield them from grief. Nurses view patient death in two ways (a). Good death and (b). Bad death.( shorter Stayt 2009). A good death is when the nurse is prepared and knows that death is imminent. The nurse has an idea on how the course of the treatment will be,it is therefore deemed less traumatic for them. Bad death happens when the demise of the patient is sudden. Feelings of regret and guilt plagues the caregiver, often wondering what could have been done to avoid death. Pragmatic The operationalized view regarding this concept can be understood on the implication of the analysis on nursing practice. • 9. The Presidential Election Of 1980 Essay On Tuesday, 4 November 1980, The United States presidential election of 1980 was held. The competition was between incumbent Democratic President Jimmy Carter and his opponent, former Californian Republican Governor, Ronald Reagan. Reagan, assisted by a falling economy complicated by inflation and high unemployment, and the Iran hostage crisis, Reagan would win the election in a sweep, receiving the largest number of electoral votes ever tallied by a presidential candidate not currently in office. Jimmy Carter, who beat out Edward M. Kennedy for the nomination for Democratic leader, attacked Reagan as a wild right wing fundamentalist. The former actor, Ronald Reaganpledged to elevate the cynical mood of the nation, and won a conclusive victory. This election marked the creation of what was called the Reagan Revolution, and indicated a conservative repositioning in national government. Throughout the 1970s, the United States underwent a wrenching period of low economic growth, high inflation and interest rates, and intermittent energy crises. In the spring and summer of 1979, inflation was on the rise and various parts of the United States were experiencing energy shortages, Carter was widely blamed and planned on delivering a major speech about energy conservation, but he thought the American public did not care for what he had to say. In the mist of all this, Carter went on the presidential retreat for the bilateral treaty on Camp David. For more than a week, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Life in the Middle Ageswas based on the framework of social classes so they could flourish socially and economically. The British class structure was a configuration of five main classes. The last group of people in the clergy class was the nuns. The next group of people was in the middle class. They were the citizens of the town, and they acquired high amounts of money so that their families could live comfortable lives. The mothers in these households were not obligated to work because the man of the house could financially support the whole family ( Middle Class ). Sometimes they had servants to help the women with household chores and duties like cooking, cleaning, and caring for the children. This class also included shipmen, cooks, and high class merchants (Schwartz). Below the middle class was the trade class, which included merchants and craftsmen. Men involved with retail would travel great distances to achieve authority and power over certain trade routes ( Middle Ages: The Medieval Social Classes ). The trade class hugely impacted the towns and the people because their income and trading skills helped to stabilize the economy. The family owned beer producer has built a strong brand around its prize product, Mountain Man Lager, over its last 70+ years of operation. Due to its highly valued brand, the organization is particularly fearful of the negative effect alternating its product mix could have on its reputation and image and the potential for customer alienation. The primary objective of this case is to determine if Chris Prangel, the marketing operations manager of Mountain Man Brewing Company, will unveil the Mountain Man Light. Everything that played a part in her growth and development was because of her mother, Marian Goldstein, who grew hatred towards her husband s Jewish background because it made them socially unacceptable. Her mothers anti Semitic Jew attitude was embedded into Friedan at a young age (Antler 1998). The families Jewish background did not allow for them to attend the country club and it permitted her from joining a sorority in high school. Because of this, she lost friends in school. • 19. The Politics Of The Middle Class Essay reform was mounted by an alliance that brought together wealthy industrialists and other members of the upper class, but moved beyond to well educated members of the middle class, as well as middle class voters. Reformers aimed to break down the political organization that thrived on immigrant votes and claimed to break down the corrupt government that thrived on the public s purse. Concerns about political corruptionwere closely connected to the rising fear of immigrants notably, the Great Unwashed . They wanted to make local government more efficient and accountable for the tastes and preferences of the middle class. Unlike most machine bosses and their followers who had little formal education, many reformers were upper class wealthy industrialists. The strong contrast between the educational background, class status, and interests of the reformers and political machines contribute to reasons for why there seems to be a struggle for power with the reformers representing the upper class and the, political machines representing the working class and immigrants. In addition to the basis for their formation, the legislature that had been put in place by the reformers is not only proof of this struggle for power, but also further disadvantaged the working class and empowered the upper class. Reformers initiated several positive reforms to change the patronage system of government, but many of them had repercussions that adversely affected working class citizens. To combat ... • 24. The Federal Budget Deficit The Federal Budget Deficit Introduction The federal budget deficit is a much discussed and little understood subject in American politics. The current recession has dramatically decreased tax revenues, driving the United States federal government to increase spending in an attempt to stabilize the economy. As a result the current federal deficit is at over $1.3 trillion dollars. This is approximately $47,754 per U.S. citizen or $137,552 per U. S. taxpayer (U.S. Debt Clock: Real Time, 2012). Many contend that deficit reduction is imperative to our prosperity and economic recovery. The deficit is blamed for a variety of economic ills including high interest rates, unemployment, the trade deficit, the low rate of national saving and low productivity growth (Shaviro, 1997). The Causes of the Budget Deficit Many believe the country s dramatic decent into debt began with a choice, not a crisis. In January of 2001, with the budget balanced, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) forecast that the nation would have over a $2 trillion dollar surplus by 2010, enough money to pay off the entire national debt. In the years following 2001 political leaders chose to cut taxes, increase spending, and wage two wars solely with borrowed funds (Montgomery, 2011). Today the national debt is larger, as a percentage of the economy, than at any time in U.S. history except for the period shortly after World War II. For a working environment to succeed, a company s ideas, knowledge, or opinions are useless unless there is effective workplace communication. Upward communication is the flow of information from frontline employees to managers, supervisors, and directors. This process differs from the more commonly used method of downward communication. Both communication processes require individuals to exchange information with one another with the mindset to influence one s thoughts, behaviors, increase understanding, and help the organization function smoothly. There are different variables that play a part in organizational communication and a key factor is listening. Within an organization, there are various methods of providing and gaining information. As previously mentioned, upward communication is where employees speak directly to management. This method allows employee s to participate in the organization. This open door policy keeps managers aware of how subordinates feel about their job tasks, procedures, and the organization in general. This communication channel implements a method called serial communication. Serial communication is a type of upward communication method that passes information consecutively from one person to another (Aamodt, p. 396). • 34. The Automobile Trade between Canada and USA Canada and United States Automobile Trade Abstract The Automobile trade between Canada and USA holds relevance to both countries and their economic prosperities. The trade between the two neighbors became more pronounced after the signing of APTA in 1956. Following that further agreements like FTA which later became NFTA lifted the tariff from other goods as well. This paper reveals how the free trade allowed America and Canada to work in tandem to import and export vehicles across the border and to other places in the world. The impact of trade agreement made the country s auto sectors and GDP enhance several folds. Canada gained a lot more from the trade as its economy needed a bigger boost than America. In the production of automobiles, America is the dominant player in making the parts where as Canada assembles it into a vehicle. The trade also paved way for Vertical Specialization as is discussed in the paper. The trade between the two nations saw a downward drift following the 2008/2009 energy crisis that majorly targeted the United States. Since the Canadian market is linked to America s market, it also became a victim of crisis in the auto industry. Despite these troubles, both the nations have attempted to stabilize the problems and still carry on trade and thus progress their import and export quantity as well. Overall, this paper emphasizes the importance of the joint collaboration of both countries in automobile industry and its success. Introduction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Charles Schaeffer And Friedrich Nietzsche Essay Introduction Born nearly 70 years apart from each other, Francis Schaeffer and Friedrich Nietzsche were two very important figures in creating the modern philosophy. Two different men that studied two different parts of philosophy. Because of their differences, most are unable to recognize their many similarities. Each of the men had the things they studied, but the basis of their theories were almost identical. Nietzsche One of the commendable influential philosophers in the history of ideas and a gifted stylist in his native German, Friedrich Nietzsche undertook a radical re evaluation of established ideas and critiqued moral values during his career. One of Nietzsche s primary studies was on the problem of morality. However, he seems to contradict himself on the matter of values. Tansesi claims it is because of the different definitions of value values in a descriptive sense as that which is thought to be of value by an individual or by the members of a group, and values in a normative sense as that which is objectively of value (652). Because of Nietzsche s committed denial of any moral values, it would seem impossible to attribute him to him a commitment to the existence of any values in the normative sense (652). In Thus Spake Zarathustra, he claims that to value is to create, and that it is only through valuing that there is value. In the same section it is also claimed that men did not discover values, nor were they given by a god; rather, human beings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Hollywood Studios Research Paper Hollywood Studios One day, my Mom surprised me that we were going to warm, fun Florida! We took a long, tiring, journey to the sun country airport in Minneapolis. We walked right and found my best buddy, aiden! We were so happy! We chatted and talked. Then we went to the waiting place to charge our dead video games and we waited for the long plane. Once it was ready, we grabbed our games and hurried onto the plane. WEEEEEEEEEEEEE OOOOOOOOOO! The plane took off and flew across the sky! I sometimes feel dizzy when the plane takes off. I watched outside as the city grew smaller and smaller and smaller. Then the world looked flat ish. Then we went through the clouds! Once we were super duper high, I closed my window cover and made myself comfortable. Then I got a little tablet thing on the plane. It could watch movies or play these little mini games. I went to the games and it was very slow and glitchy. I went to the movies and watched Eddie the Eagle for no reason. • 37. Scripture In Kinder s Essay This psalm begins by promising blessings to all those who choose to keep God s law; while the ungodly, who reject it, will ultimately perish. As Kinder (1973) concludes, But the Day will disclose the man of straw as surely as the works of straw (p. 65). The company a man keeps testifies of his character. People of the same sort or with the same tastes and interests will be found together. As the old proverb states, birds of a feather flock together . The psalmist tells us that those who delight in the law of the Lord (Ps. 1:2), will not be found taking advice from or keeping company with the ungodly. As some have speculated that being written as an acrostic poem, with each letter of the Hebrew alphabet being represented by beginning one of the 22 stanzas, could it not be concluded as being symbolic of complete devotion to the Law of God? Their smiles seemed to pacify my anxiety of meeting new people.A small white sign sat at the corner of the table reading Share a story for some candy! . Fulfilling this tall order is a prerequisite to ascending through the ranks of the wicked cults from the bygone era. Luring in struggling individuals with grandiose promises of spiritual healing and self actualization, these malevolent organizations pray on the weaknesses of the desperate. Through these methods they amass an army of loyal followers and a high degree of political clout, however, we must ask ourselves, why? What is the psychology behind these actions? In order to fathom the true nature of cults, we must first examine the minuscule fibers that form the infrastructure of what may be defined as a cult, we must dare to dive into the psyches of the charismatic personalities that led them, we must... On the subject of radical cult identification, Natacha Tormey points out in her book, Cults A Bloodstained History, that, Cults can hide in many places. They are so adept at blending into society and masking their true colours that often their victims do not realize that they were even in a cult until they have escaped it. They then utilize this camouflage to try to obtain more power through tax exemptions and political sway. For example, the church of Scientology battled tooth and nail to be recognized as a religious organization by the Internal Revenue Service from the years 1967 all the way to 1993. In her essay Fable for Tomorrow, naturalist Rachel Carson alerts the public on the inevitable danger rooted from the use of pesticides to the environment. She argues that the interference with nature using GMO and pesticides create a danger for us, internally and externally. We can also enforce building community farms in neighborhoods where the residences can help to garden and care for the plants. This way people can get clean, healthy food which they will benefit from and so will the surrounding environment. • 41. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night Poem Analysis Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night One of the key aspects of poetry is the theme of a poem. Through his writing, Dylan Thomas is a good example of how to use many different methods to display the feeling and emotion behind his writing. One example of his skill in this area is in the poem Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night . This poem has a theme about fighting against death, which is seen through the use of literary devices such as repetition, symbolism, and rhymescheme. One way that the poem demonstrates its theme is through its use of repetition. This can be seen through the repetition of the phrase do not go gentle into that good night throughout the poem. As this phrase is also the title of the poem, it clearly has a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, in the context of the poem, it also emphasizes how even though these people know this, they still fight. This symbolism helps to keep the reader invested in the poem. Another example of symbolism is seen in the quote wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight This quote emphasizes the other part of the symbolism, how light represents life. In this quote, this symbolism is carried out by using the sun to represent light. The sun represents the life in the wild men . These men represent how the author feels that people should live when faced with the threat of death. Lastly, the poem uses the literary device rhyme scheme to demonstrate its theme. The first place that this can be seen is in the line old age should burn and rave at close of day . This line is one of the first in the rhyme scheme. This poem is a villanelle, which has a very specific rhyme scheme. This is a difficult rhyme scheme to use in English because there aren t that many words that rhyme. It takes a lot of skill for a writer to create an emotion poem with this form. The use of this rhyme scheme helps to keep the entire poem connected. A second example of the effect this rhyme scheme has is in the quote and you, my father there on the sad height; Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray . These are 2 of the final lines of the poem. These lines reveal to the reader who the poem is about, and why the subject matter is so important ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. The Expulsion of Freedom According to Jean Jacques Rousseau, human beings are bestowed with the blessings of freedom during their individual genesis on this fruitful planet, but this natural freedom is immensely circumscribed as it s exchanged for the civil liberties of the State. He indicated that the supplanting of natural freedom is necessary for the obtainment of greater power for the greater collective community, but the prospect of obtaining superlative capabilities comes with the price of constraints. Yet this notion of natural freedom conflicts with Thomas Hobbesrendition on the state of nature because he illustrates that nature, interface through savagery. The illusion of a free society with unbiased laws created by the collective and ratified by the legislator, enables the society to have a sense of morality and perform a ceremonial civic duty to uphold the laws they finance with commitment. Rousseau states in the opening page that, Man is born free, but everywhere he is in chains. One thinks himself the master of others, and still remains a greater slave than they. These chains that Rousseau refer to are the constraints that are strategically placed on the freedom of the residents of the state. Since laws consult the public interest of the people collectively and suppress the private interest of the individual, they are essentially chains on the minds and souls of mankind, because people are used as vessels by the state to fulfill its agenda, under the guise and illusion of individual power to implement change in the collective. The author of Leviathan, Thomas Hobbes eloquently emphasizes that the state of nature is, in its rawest essence, chaotic and savage. In Chapter thirteen of his work Leviathan, he depreciates man s role in the state of nature by saying, the life of man, solitary, poore , nasty, brutish and short (pg. 186). From his perspective, due to the fact that humans dwell in this catatonic state of destitution, humans naturally yearn for peace. Hobbes suggest that through the formulation of Leviathan through a social contract, achieving peace is a more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
