An Age Of Mass Migration And International Terrorism
In an age of mass migration and international terrorism, the intersection of liberty and equality
while also pursuing domestic security and efficiency is a major concern. The ability to untangle
these forces is critical to national identities and to resolving contradictions between these
principles in order to strengthen the values of justice. The values of liberty, equality, security and
efficiency have different weights, but all of these have come to characterize the modern state,
have guided the formation of domestic public policy and continue to constitute the criteria by
which policy success is judged. This paper aims to outline the national policy objectives and the
value oriented solutions of societal problems like the ones mentioned above. Since September 11
2001, the type of terrorist attacks which have emerged have begun to have major ramifications on
how states are able to aspire to the ideals of liberty, equality, security and efficiency. States have
changed the way they conduct policy and focus on efforts to face the challenge of how efforts to
increase security may have curtailed citizens liberties (Haubrich, 400). The anti terrorismstrategies
and tactics that democratic states have employed in order to neutralize terrorist threats have varied
widely. Some have been reactive, others proactive or preventative. However, all measures have
been concerned about the trust citizens have in those in power and the legitimacy of their rule as
well as protecting

Wealth Argument Analysis
A middle class citizen sits in a courtroom while a wealthy citizen sits in a different courtroom.
Same charge, different outcome. The wealth gives the first class citizen a very unfair advantage
within the judicial system. First, he can hire lawyers that know how to find any and every
loophole in the system to get their client off with little to no charges. Even if the charge is as
drastic as manslaughter. This happens everyday all over the country as wealthbails people out of
consequences.

In 2007, Pasadena, California had the largest pay to stay jail program in the country. A pay to say
prison is a place much like a hotel. A person can be there instead of in a cell and all they have to
do is pay a nightly fee. The facilities advertise as if they were a resort The jail has advertised its
program with a pamphlet that echoes holiday resort language. Serve your time in our clean, safe
secure facility! ... We are the finest jail in Southern California, the brochure proclaims. Pay to

$135 a day (Clarke). Pasadena raked in $234,000 in 2007 from the pay to stay facilities with
2,226 prisoners. It s not just Pasadena that offers this luxury of a prison but many more. In Los
Angeles and Orange Counties, the cities of Alhambra, Anaheim, Burbank, Culver City, Fullerton,
Glendale, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach, La Verne, Montebello, Pasadena, San Gabriel

What Role Does Religion Play In Hamlet
As a shadow approached Marcellus, Barnardo, and Horatio, they questioned the state of their
country and the unfortunate circumstances regarding Hamlet. The ghost, originally a catholic idea,
was presented as an uncertain character is used to symbolize the development of the revenge plot,
delay of Hamlet s actions, and foreshadowing of death. The ghostdid not simply introduce an idea of
revenge, it also represented the unpleasant idea which at the time was popular: revenge. When the
ghost approaches Hamlet, it lures him to create a private conversation between them. The ghost told
Hamlet, Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder, and led Hamlet in a direction that shifted his
purpose in life from mourning to objective revenge (Shakespeare,... Show more content on

Seeing ghosts in any tradition is an omen of something negative. Marcellus directly said,
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark (Shakespeare, Act 1, Scene 4). As a tragedy, death is
certainly one of the many themes of Hamlet. The ghost, a dead person s soul, tells Hamlet that his
father s death was caused by his uncle. By suggesting revenge as a way to fix his father s sins, the
ghost s dialogue foreshadows the death of the Claudius. Given the circumstances of the public
agreeing to usurp of the throne, Hamlet s unusual behavior, and involvement of outside characters,
Hamlet s journey to seek vengeance will include the death of other characters. The ghost acted as
the firebrand that initiated a series of deaths by simply suggesting the death of one individual:
Claudius. Without much effort, Hamlet is persuaded to avenge his late father and unknowingly take
his own life. Marcellus statement ultimately became the truth after the death of both Claudius and
Gertrude, Hamlet s mother, and some other uninvolved characters like Ophelia and Polonius. The
ghost did not only complicate the entire story of Hamlet, it also developed the theme of revenge
and Hamlet s delay of vengeance. However, it can be inferred that if the character of the ghost was
not included in the story, then the story of Hamlet would not have happened. In the process

Culture is similar to personality. In a person, the personality is made up of the values, beliefs,
underlying assumptions, interests, and experiences that create a person s behavior. Culture is made

Are Democracies More Than Other Kinds Of Political...
Are democracies less likely to go to war than other kinds of political regimes?
Democracy is considered as a peaceful entity and the world without war. American president
Woodrow Wilson, for example, believes that democracy is inherently peace desiring and
consequently contributes to the world peace, replacing war like political regime (Gat, 2006).
Democracy is a system of government, consisted of four key elements. Firstly, it is a means of
choosing the leaders of the citizens and replacing the government, if they do not achieve their
commitments, through free and fair election. Secondly, people actively participate in the public
and civic life in democracy. Democracy depends on the participation of the citizens, and it must
be peaceful, respectful of the law, and tolerant of the different views of other groups and
individuals. Thirdly, every individual has the certain rights, which the state cannot take away
from him or herself in democracy. In other words, the human rights of all citizens is protected by
the democracy. Finally, democracy is a system of rule by laws, not by individuals, and the rule of
law protects the rights of citizens, maintains order, and limits the power of government. Every
person is equal under the law (Barkawi and Laffey, 2001). Further, Democracy is largely supported
by liberal thinkers such as John Locke and Immanuel Kant, and liberalism is the main theory, which
supports democracy and identifies the crucial aspects of democracy.

Social Medi The Truth
Social Media The Truth Social Media is a hotly debated topic in modern times. On one side,
people say that it can help spread information quickly, or help catch criminals, but on the other,
people often claim that they can be dangerous and that they lack privacy. The truth of the matter
is, Social Networks should be banned, especially for children. Social Media destroys the basic
human ability to interact with others. This is supported by the quote, Communication is
constantly evolving. Some people are as used to seeing their friends online avatar as they are their

Future generations, this one included, will only spend more and more time on sites like these.
Some people would say that Social Media helps catch and prosecute criminals, but the few times
in which this does happen is heavily outweighed by the amount of privacy of which they lack,
and the fact that they often expose users to government and corporate intrusions. A 2012 survey
found that 13 million Facebook users said that they had not set or known about the site s privacy
settings, and another 28% shared all, or nearly all, of their posts publicly. Facebook is infamous
for its lack of security, how it forces users to stay on and use their site and secretly tracks them.
They often make privacy settings hard to find. Most, if not all, of their users would rather keep
their info private, but Facebook and other Social Networking sites often make that a hard thing to
do. Another report declared that the US Justice Department intercepted 1,661 pieces of
information from social networking sites and emails in 2011. With many social media sites being
money focused, they often sell their user s information to shady organizations. These sites expose
their users too much and too often. This is further supported by the fact that the 2009 IRS training
manual teaches agents to scan Facebook pages for information that might assist in resolving a
taxpayer case. Organizations such as this one now even promote social media stalking . It s
immensely difficult to stay and feel safe on

Rainbow s End Discovery Essay
People have a natural instinct to discover new places, to gain knowledge and ideas. Discoveries
can lead to new worlds, values, and perspectives. These aspects of discovery are thoroughly
explored in the text Rainbow s End by Jane Harrison, Billy Elliot by Stephen Daldry and the
door visual text. Moreover, discoveries can offer new understandings and perceptions about self
and others. The concept of discovery is portrayed through the protagonists Billy and Jackie in the
film Billy Elliot whereas in Rainbow s end, it is through by Gladys and Dolly. The visual text also
has deeper meaning within itself which will be further explored throughout this essay. The film
Billy Elliot is directed by Stephen Daldry and is set in a town called Everington,... Show more

The visual text highlights the aspect of discovery can lead to new worlds and also self
discovery. The symbolism of a door wide open demonstrates that discoveries can lead to new
places. The use of the sparkle and the white background near the doorknob implies a sense of
surprise and wonder emphasising that discoveries can be unexpected and positive. The most
important part of this visual text is a male head acting as a border around the door. This implies
the aspect of self discovery and links with discovering leading to new worlds and places. To
further explore this idea, the male head is a symbolism for an individual and it suggests that self
discovering of one s strength and skills allows the individual to discover what he/she likes and
succeed. Another key thing is that the door is contained within the interior of the head more
specifically the brain. The brain is where an individual thinks and understands his personality. As a
result, the door replaces the brain meaning the individual should first know himself, hence self
discovery. In conclusion, the visual image utilised a variety of visual techniques to highlight aspect
of self discovery and discoveries leading to new

The Challenges Of Manification In Margaret Atwood s The...
Attwood gives the maids the justice they deserved by giving them a voice to tell their story. She
brought to light the trouble of the maids, whom many barely even spared a second thought, and
forced readers to hear their side of the story. Their story was riveting and compelling in such a way
that with less than half the novel dedicated to them, they still commandeered the attention of the
story. While Attwood will never be able to right all the wrongs that were done to the maids in The
Odyssey, she has done, to the best of her ability, to correct the misgivings done to them and her
best was well worth the effort. The maids point of view of what occurred to them during The
Odyssey, will not soon be forgotten, (Omari, Kifah (Moh d Khair) Ali Al, and Hala Abdel Razzaq
A. Jum ah. Language stratification: a critical reading of Margaret Atwood s The Penelopiad).
The other narrative of this novel focusses on Penelope. Penelope is telling her side of the story
from the underworld. Penelope has many character flaws that range from her proneness to
weeping to her bitter view of others and herself. The Odyssey made Penelope out as a flat
character who had no character development and the two most notable thing about her character
were her ability to cry over everything and how she wove and unwove the shroud she was making
for her father in law. Attwood shows her as a cunning and imperfect character that is more dynamic
than her original depiction. Attwood s version of Penelope is

The Triad is a colloquial term in the Special Forces (SF) community used to describe the mutually
supporting roles and responsibilities of the leadership on the SFOD A. The Warrant Officer on an
SFOD A is recognized as a Commander so the question begs to be asked: why the departure from
this leadership model in Company and Battalion command teams? The following analysis will
examine advantages and disadvantages of maintaining the current command team model at the
Company and Battalion level verses re flagging the Company and Battalion Warrant Officer
positions to Command Chief Warrant Officer (CCWO) positions. The advantages to identifying the
Company and Battalion Warrant Officer position as CCWO positions are formal title and

Should The Government Deplete The Price Of Illegal Drugs
Based on the given scenario, if the government declares marijuana and cocaine illegal the price of
illegal drugs increases, creating more gangs and gang welfare. Due to the high price of illegal
drugs, fewer street drugs are consumed. I personally think that the government trying to be rational
about the drugmarket would lead them to a market failure. In the article, it stated that a legal
dispensary charged $70 for up to 1 ounce of marijuana and less than that, 0.25 being the
maximum, to customers that were from out of town. Most cartels would take a hard hit due to the
scarcity of their products because this public policy would put marijuana and cocaine in high
demand. If you consider the fact that most cartels don t give you a limit such as the 1 oz limit
offered by the legal dispensaries portrayed within the article, they will most likely go into short
supply soon.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the government has been fighting a war on drugs for quite a while now and it doesn t
seem to be slowing down. The government s attempt to deplete the use of illegal drugs actually
gave gangs and drug cartels a more efficient market power because since they have a product that s
high in demand they have more influence over the economy than the government does. The
government s actions could lead to an increase in violence due to addicts killing or stealing to get
their product. The government interfering only cause more

Essay about Sonnet to Science by Edgar Allen Poe
Sonnet to Science by Edgar Allen Poe
Edgar Allen Poe s Sonnet to Science is an example of how the structure of a poem can both aid and
hinder the poet in communicating his or her thoughts. Usually, when the poet chooses to structure
his poem in the form of a sonnet, he is, through his speaker, asking a question and reaching an
answer. In this poem, however, the speaker, probably a young poet, questions Science but reaches
no conclusion. Poe uses the English sonnet to communicate his youthful speaker s feelings of
disdain for science and facts as opposed to mythology and fantasy, which inspire poetic musings.
He implores Science as to why she must impose her dull realities on the hearts of poets like himself,
squelching their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first time the speaker uses a personal pronoun is in line 13, at the turn of the sonnet. He states
that Science, in addition to undoing the magic of classical mythology, has stolen his personal
summer dream. The speaker is evidently a dreamer and poet disappointed by the damper that fact
places on fancy. The tone throughout the poem is one of questioning, like most sonnets. However,
in this particular poem, the speaker is disdainful to the subject, Science. He angrily accuses
Science of preying like a vulture upon the poet s heart. The speaker seems to have personal
resentment against Science, because he names himself as suffering a loss at the hands of fact and
reality along with the mythological Diana, Hamadryad, and Naiad.
In the first line of the poem, Science! true daughter of Old Time thou art!, the speaker appears to
be respectful toward Science, and the reader might mistake this poem for a tribute to the subject.
However, the tone immediately changes when he describes Science as having peering eyes in
line 2. This is the reader s first indication that the speaker holds contempt for the daughter of Old
Time. The speaker s descriptions of Science grow worse as he accuses her of dragging Diana
from her car, the moon, and driving the Hamadryad from her wood, a tree which she is never
supposed to leave. When the speaker finally mentions himself as a victim of Science s dull realities,

The Biofuel Industry
Biofuels have been used as a source of energy for thousands of years. Wood was the first biofuel
to be used as a means to create fires for cooking. Since that time we have discovered numerous
ways to use them and the various forms of biofuels that are available for use. Presently our use of
biofuels consists largely of additives to gasoline in the form of ethanol. Ethanol is found in almost
all of our gasoline products today, in which about 10% is typically mixed as an additive. Some gas
stations are now offering nearly pure ethanol fuelknown as E85 which is 85% ethanol. This makes
ethanol the most common biofuelused worldwide. In response to this, farmers around the world
have increased biofuel plant production as a means to meet the new growing demand for it. As
time goes on, more modern farming practices are expected to continue to increase the output at
which farmers can grow corn and other ethanol producing plants thereby fueling the biofuel gas
industry. With more resources available to use, ethanol will be an even cheaper additive than it is
now.
Biofuels as a whole are made up of a large variety of organisms or their byproducts, leaving a
multiple of sources to choose from. This is what makes biofuel energy an attractive source of fuel
for the future. One company named Algenol is leading the world in algae research development
that they claim will revolutionize the biofuel industry completely. They are working on having
algae produce ethanol directly

The Importance Of Religion In Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. knew from an early age how important religion was for his family. King
came from a family of preachers, his father and grandfather, who helped lead him to also being a
preacher. King went to college for theology and continued his academic career by earning a
doctorate degree in theological studies. These degrees will help guide King in his writings and
speeches. King uses religion to prove the point on why the protests are not a bad thing to the
audience of the eight clergymen. King wrote a letter that reaches audiences that weren t thought
of when it was written. He knew of the clergyman and many of the then present day populations
that were going to read his story, but the letters have touched so many people in the present day.
King knew his then present day audience to a tee. He starts his letter with one of his key
indicators; My dear Fellow Clergymen (263). While doing this he knew who was going to read
the letter but also that these people will understand his references to religion, in which the letter is
littered with references to the Bible. King uses religion to prove why he is in Birmingham. He is
there to spread the message, but was thrown into jail and is trying to prove a point on why there is
significance for the protest in Birmingham; I am in Birmingham because injustice is here. Just as

one Inverse Fast Fourier Transform block to generate the set of candidate signals, while the second

Personal Reflection Of Personal Ethics In The Classroom
I am one of the numerous amount of students enrolled in your class and most likely, you have no
idea who I am. I am hopeful that this letter will apprise you about my personality, work ethic, and
other characteristics.
When I was younger, I enjoyed being constantly active; whether that be hanging off the couch
while watching T.V. or running around my house yelling incoherent phrases to drive my mother
insane, I did it all. One day, I stumbled upon a video of a girl teaching the viewer how to do a skill
named the back handspring (a skill where you push off from an upright standing position into
vertical back onto your feet to complete a full rotation). In awe, it inspired me to attempt it
myself, until I realized it took a lot more to flip backwards and expect to land on your hands
without falling onto your face. I can recall myself watching a plethora of these varieties of videos
in where people demonstrated how to do different certain skills. I would be fascinated by the idea
that you can maneuver your body to do tricks that most people would not dare to attempt. Not long
after that, I begged to try out and, to my amazement, ended up making it into what would become
my gymnastics team.
When I first began, I was not prepared for the amount of work that was required of the individual,
both physically and mentally. I remember the first practice I attended was one of my most
exhausting. Being a newcomer to such an intense sport, it allowed many, many mistakes. The quote

Essay On Plantation Mistresses
A cannot be correct, because the plantation mistress life was quite the opposite of idle leisure. A
plantation mistress is in charge of supervising the domestic household. Her duties include:
managing the supply and preparation of food for the household, taking care of the linens, other
housecleaning, administering care to the sick, along with raising her children, and other such
chores. One plantation mistress, Mary Boykin Chesnut, observed that there is not slave like a wife.
Only the wealthiest planter s wives had significant leisure time. The majority of plantation
mistresses were far from idle.
B is incorrect, because plantation mistresses being subordinate to their husbands were the
prevailing social order. Some of them may have gossiped and shared their complaints amongst
other mistresses about their problems with the patriarch system and the mulatto children that
appear with their husbands features as a result, but they seldom publically challenged this social
dynamic. The thought of any boisterous opposition to the social order or racial climate would

The men in plantation society, however, were socially allowed to follow a code of self indulgence,
especially when it came to their lust. While the plantation mistresses faithfully raised their husbands
children, they would also have to put up with their husbands taking pleasure in raping and
impregnating the slave women. Many slave holding families attended church and the mistresses
often subtly hoped the sermons would council their husbands into being faithful. The sermons,
however, often supported the double standard so deeply entrenched in the Old South. Slave women
were seen as property and if the planter wanted to impregnate her that was his perfectly moral
prerogative. Plantation mistresses lived with that double

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Consuming Meat
1.0 Introduction
Meat is one of the main consumed food in the world in past decades when compared with other
types of food items. There are many advantages and disadvantages of consuming meat. The main
advantage is that it contains proteins, vitamin B6, B12 and several other growth factors which are
essential for the cell growth and immunity. The disadvantage is animals are injected with antibodies
and several hormones such as estrogen, testosterone to boost their growth. Hence, it causes cancer,

Beef products are relatively higher than other meat items. As a result, vendors or companies tend
to mix expensive meat with low cost meat to increase the weight of the meat item and sold for
lower costs in the local market to attract the customers. Also to reduce the quality and to make the
appearance good, vendors tend to do fraud adulterations. Sometimes, as a result of poor
organization or cleaning up of the area and instruments which used to prepare processed meat, the
meat products may prone to contaminate. For example, the grinders that used to grind chicken may
not be changed to ground beef, pork or mutton. Hence the leftover minced chicken meat will be
blocked in the pipelines and it will push through only when the beef goes through the machine. This
may be done purposefully to economic perspective or unintentionally due to poor hygienic. In order
to prevent contamination, instruments have to be cleaned daily and if possible use separate
grinders for each meat type. The staff has to be trained well in an organization and hygiene.
Accordingly, the fraud meat adulterations can be minimized and thereby economical allegation and
safety risk will be reduced (Hui,

Rebeca In Annabel s Mistreatment Of Intersex
My first encounter with the term intersex was in the book Annabel. I had happened upon this

Doctors and medical literature unabashedly advocate misrepresentation, concealment of facts,

Her mother and father told her that she had a brother who died at a young age and that all record
of him had burned in a fire. Their lies begin to unravel when Rebeca is sent a photo album from
her great aunt Mica containing only pictures of Pedrito. The doctors had warned them that
Rebeca s new identity should not be threatened in any way. They move to a different country and
destroyed everything from Rebeca s old life. This is, again, eerily similar to Chase s story. In her
article she writes, Following doctors orders, my parents then changed my name, combed their

changed my birth certificate, [and] moved to a different town (34). When Rebeca demands to
know why they had to operate her mother responds by ask, What people might have said if they

ridicule rather than for Rebeca s health. Rebeca is again so infuriated by her mother s answers that
she imagines violently hurting her. This is typical of the rage felt by many intersex individuals

The Most Valuable Lessons Learned In Leadership
What is the most valuable lesson you have learned in a leadership role?
Leadership roles have taught me many things throughout my primary school education. I have had
a few leadership roles throughout my education including New Tech Ambassadors and National
Honors Society. The most valuable lessons I have learned include that of patience, persistence, and
austerity. I have learned that people need you to continue and press them and continue to help and
lead; to be persistent in your leadership helps those who follow you. Leadership has taught me to
have patience. Though, not to be lax. You must still be persistent. Lastly, to be respected as a leader
it is best to be stern but still approachable. An austere presence helps lead the best teams throughout

How and Why Did American Popular Culture Influence...
The 1950s and 1960s were times of unprecedented change, and Australian society was influenced
greatly by American popular culture, through various mediums, such as: music, film, television and
fashion. This especially affected teenagers. It will be explained how Australian society was
impacted by American popular culture, and also why American popular culture had such an affect.
Australian developed its own responses to these influences, and the extent of this will also be
explored. The 1950s meant the emergence of the teenager; it also brought peace and prosperity to
many. And during the fifties there were far more American films released in Australia, and they

Psychedelia departed as quickly as it arrived. The fifties and sixties were completely different in
so many ways; the times had changed a lot in the transition of decades. The types of music, for
one, were in great contrast. By the sixties the rock n roll and pelvic thrusting of the fifties had

Elizabethan Era Religious Conflict Essay
The religious conflict in the Elizabethan era must be understood in the light of how a religion
stemmed to two different forms causing bloodshed along the way. In fact, it can be said one of the
largest religious disputes during that the era was the Catholics versus the Protestants which were
both fleshed out from Christianity. Even if Catholics and Protestants were stemmed from
Christianity, both differs in some ways. During the Elizabethan era, Catholics find worth in reading
the Bible since Latin written Catholic Bibles were prominent that time. They also regarded their
priests as divine beings. On the other hand, Protestants have an elusive style of Christianity by

However, when Queen Mary I claimed the throne she converted back to Catholicism. She even
earned the name Bloody Mary for killings done, creating blood between religions for years.
Even if this is the case, a number of protestants still supported Mary s rise to the throne since she
was perceived as the legitimate heir to throne in spite of others intent for Lady Jane Grey. For the
same reason that the Protestants approved of Mary s notwithstanding their religious differences,
Elizabeth also held the backing of most Catholics. However, the cases are different.
Comparatively, the reign of Mary was short enough to deal the same issues of loyalty among
radical Protestants that Elizabeth had to deal with from a minority of Catholics, more specifically
Jesuits. At the dawn of English Reformation, there were various ways in professing religious
beliefs between Protestants and Catholics. It is notable that Protestants broke away from the
Church of England into different faction in directions that Henry VIII barely predicted. This way,
the reign of Elizabeth marks the rise of Puritanism along with the return of Marian exiles .
Although there were persistent flaws in terms of rituals, people began to see the Church of England
as an entity that can still be shaped and furnished into a godlier community of Christians .

Contributions Of The Italian Renaissance
The Renaissance was a time of rebirth and a transition from the medieval time to the Early Modern
World. It emphasized human beings, their achievements, interests, and capabilities. This time
period was a gateway to the modern world and was essential for the improvement of human life. At
the time there were two main Renaissances, the Northern, and the Italian. The Italian Renaissance
took place from the 1400s to the 1700s, just after the plague spread through. One of the major
reasons why the Renaissance started in Italy was because of how fast the plague got through and
spread throughout the rest of Europe. The Northern Renaissance took place from the 1400s to the
1600s, because the ideas from Italy spread to and then throughout Europe. Location was a key
factor in where the rebirth would take place. The Italian Renaissance took place in Florence, Italy.
Florence had been the center of the Roman Empire, which encouraged the rebirth to happen in a
rapid pace. Another reason why the Italian Renaissance took place in Florence was because of it s
location along the Mediterranean Sea, which aided trade and cultural diffusion. The Northern
Renaissance took place in Flanders. Flanders had sufficient amount of trade, but also an immense
economic growth that caused the North to start a renaissance of their own.
The Renaissance encouraged many advances in science, technology, art, literature, mathematics and
much more. In Italy the art was enhanced to look more realistic and

The Wretched Of The Earth Chapter 3 Summary
In Chapter three of The Wretched Of The Earth, Fanon discusses the shortcomings of Nationalism
in regards to building truly liberated, egalitarian, socialist, democratic post colonial societies.
During the fight for liberation from colonial powers, nationalism serves as the organizational tool
behind the movement. It is the sentiment that mobilizes and unites a people in the fight for an
independent, egalitarian future. The leader of a revolution must campaign to raise the national
consciousness of the whole society in order to ingrain in them that national sentiment that leads
them to so fervently participate and make sacrifices for the revolution. During the fight for
liberation in Algiers in the 1950s for example, this leader was the FLN Party. Fanon believes in

A Visit From St. Nicholas By Clement Moore
Clement Clarke Moore s narrative poem A Visit from St. Nicholas , also known as The Night
before Christmas , was written in order to be read to his children on the night before Christmas. His
poem unintentionally sought its way into publication and introduced America the conception and
perceived image of Santa Claus(St. Nicholas) and established American family traditions with the
retelling of its story. Throughout the world, the poem still is read and recited to children on
ChristmasEve by parents as a tradition of the holiday season. Here, Moore tells the story of one
family s visit from St. Nick on Christmas Eve. The father, set as the speaker of the poem, is
awaken by Santa and observes his arrival, reindeers, appearance, actions and departure. Moore
effectively builds anticipation for Christmas for kids and generates feelings of nostalgia for adults
when he portrays the poem s underlying theme of the childhood innocence. He does so by crafting
his writing to sound enchanting and child friendly, reiterated in his rhyme scheme, structure, and
poetic elements in A Visit from St. Nicholas , allowing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

God Is The Pure Essence Of Perfect
No one on this Earth is perfect, only our God is the pure essence of perfect. With God s love and
perfection He is able to use us, the imperfect, to carry out His will. We have all sinned and
continue to ask for forgiveness when needed. Although we are not perfect, God still has a plan
for our lives and it is our duty to follow out His will. In the Old Testament there are books of
history, which discuss God s use of some imperfect individuals to accomplish His purpose for
Israel. There are twelve books exactly that deal with the history of the nation of Israel and how
God accomplished His goals. These twelve books are Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1st and 2nd Samuel,
1st and 2nd Kings, 1st and 2nd Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther. These books share a
prophetic view of history describing how the obedience or disobedience of God s people is
directly tied to the blessings and curses of the covenant. The first of these books is Joshua. In
this book, the possession of the land by the nation is the main point. It tells us the story of Israel
s arrival at Canaan, otherwise known as the Promise Land, while under the leadership of Joshua.
God appoints Joshua as a leader and that he will never leave him or forsake him. Joshua stood
strong in his faith, his obedience to God, and he was courageous. So although Joshua was one out
of many men that were not apparently flawed, this book is a foundation for all that was to come.

Generation Gap Between Mother And Daughter
I feel that the relationship between mother and daughter is a strained one, with the obvious love
and care for each other marred by the obvious generation gap between the two, the lack of
understanding and perspective and fixed expectations that the mother sets.
Firstly, the mother sets fixed expectations for her daughter. As seen in the start of the passage, she
has already planned out her daughter s future and expects her to follow it, thinking about how
now (her daughter) can be a doctor, make big money, find a good husband . She also tells Ah Kow

you say Forget it, never mind. When I lose something, it makes me gek sim, for always. The

Power Behind Knowledge
Knowledge is an important part of everyone s lives; the human nature to gain more over the years
has been an evolutionary process that has shifted over time. Knowledge tends to lead a person in
search of more information. Curiosity and thirst for knowledge is present within everyone and
varies based on the urges of the individual; the user has the ultimate power for the use of the
information. The information gained by an individual must be used with careful considerations of
the consequences it holds. The word itself has an impact to our nation that can alter the initial

This word also contains synonyms that are archaic, such as wot, ween, and tow (Chapman ed.).
The various origins of this word, with a similar context over time, exemplify the depth of history
present in knowledge.
In addition, the historical concept of knowledge can be traced back to ancient times. The
concept of knowledge is a powerful idea that helps the world to exist in serenity. Without this
concept, an individual cannot develop his or skills while reflecting on the previous actions.
Knowledge helps an individual obtain astounding goals, while it can also be his or her demise.
The power behind knowledge is evident through the course of the history of the word. The
information obtained by knowledge can be used according to the intentions of the individual. The
books of the Bible state that knowledge can be used for good or evil depending on the individual.
Knowledge comes with understanding the wisdom presented by God. The Bible states, one must
not eat from the tree of knowledge...when you eat from it you will certainly die (Genesis 2:17). The
innate curiosity present within man can lead him to seek the knowledge that will eventually destroy
him. The ability to look into the history of the concept of this word allows society to gain more
knowledge about our current understanding. There must be a balance upon the knowledge that an
individual seeks, due to the harm of obtaining too much

shaped clouds, Nino having an album of pictures that he finds, and Amelie finding a box that
included important objects such as pictures and other materials. The visual of Amelie taking
pictures of shaped clouds shows how imagination plays a role in this film. I also noticed how
important a garden gnome was to Amelie s father. The gnome represented Amelie s father s dream
of traveling. Soon, Amelie takes the gnome and sends it to other places of the world, her father is
sent pictures of the gnome traveling and soon decides to travel himself. Another cultural difference
is the music, which is very happy and sometimes even sounds romantic. Equally important, the
clothes that most women wear including Amelie are a skirt with a blouse or t shirt and many of
them have short hair. Lastly, this film didn t focus a lot on history, economics, or politics. The only
part I noticed where it talked about

THE UNDERLYING ISSUE BEHIND RUSSIA S PREVAILING COMPENSATION SYSTEM
2)
Performance and Membership Pay: Will the compensation
emphasize in the performance or in the membership one has with the company? Unfortunately, in
the Russian Tourism industry it is more dependent on the membership with the company than
the actual performance of individuals (Puffer and Shekshnia, 1997). 3) Job and Individual Pay:
Is the pay dependent on the quality and quantity of job an employee is doing, or on the skill set
the employee has, that he brings along with him to the company? According to my experience, in
Tourism industry the pay is based on the performance of an employee, not on the skills. 4) Open
and Secret Pay: Will the employees have access to information about other workers compensation
levels and how are compensation decisions been made (open), or will this stay hidden from the
employees (secret). As being confirmed from my colleagues in the Russian Tourism industry a mix
of both, open as well as secret pay system, is practiced.
Which are the major challenges in the prevailing compensation system in the Russian

Role Of Community In Mim Udovich s A Secret Society Of The...
Community
A community is a group of people interacting in a meaningful way with regard to something they
share in common. It used to be that a community, in order to function as a group and interact, had
to be in the same geographic location or at least within driving distance. Since the internet has now
become so widely available we find that people with common interests and goals are reaching
across vast distances to interact with each other. There is even language translation software
available that can translate other languages into one s own. These have begun to break down
previous barriers such as distance and language but even cultural barriers may become a thing of
the past. In Mim Udovich s A Secret Society of the Starving, the author describes a communitythat
meets online to share feelings about their eating disorders. In Shari Caudron s Befriending Barbie,
the author writes of her experience at a Barbie convention. Not only are online communities
functioning in almost every way as a cohesive group, but they have the potential to transcend
distance, language and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Shari is acquainted with some of the other convention women, Debie tells Sharie how the
Barbie community has helped her. When her son was killed, her friends didn t know what to say
and dropped out of her life. Her friends in the online Barbie community did just the opposite.
They encouraged her by sending her letters, care packages, and raising money for charity in her
son s name. She tells Sharie, I am so blessed. This is the closest circle of friends I ve ever had
(Cauldron 173). Debie s online community was able to offer much more support and compassion
than her physical community. This is because the online world lacks the awkwardness of face to
face relationships, which in this case, was only amplified by the devastating circumstance as the

The Witch Hunt Of The Salem Witch Trials
Imagine, if you will, having to spend 25 years in prison for a crime that you didn t commit. It
may seem absurd and ridiculous, but it has happened before. Meet Dan and Fran Keller, a couple
that ran a daycare that was accused of exposing children to satanism in many different ways. This
was all because of a witch hunt in the 1980 s and 1990 s surrounded around accusing people of
different acts of satanism.A witch hunt is when many innocent people are wrongly accused of
crimes they didn t commit, mainly with little, uncredible, or no evidence to back it up. The term
witch hunt was derived from the Salemwitch trials in which hundreds of people were accused and
hanged for witchcraft. During the Salem witch trials many people were sentenced... Show more

This case began with couple Mr. and Mrs. Keller opening up a daycare in Austin Texas that was
overwhelmingly positive and filled with fun activities for the kids that may attend. All of this
came to a halt though, when one day a three year old girl who was already seeing a therapist for
mental issues told her mother that Mr. Keller had assaulted her when she was at the daycare.
In the summer of 1991, the accusation of the Kellers was made by a three year old and her
mother. The three year old girl came home one day and told her mother she was spanked by Mr.
Keller while at daycare. After hearing this, the mother and the girl s therapist repeatedly
questioned her retaining what else may have happened when she was at daycare. As Jordan
Smith wrote in an article for The Intercept, By the time the Kellers were tried, three children
(whose parents were, at least for a time, all regularly communicating about the Kellers) had
described a shocking panoply of sadistic abuse, (Smith 1). From here the accusations started to
lose any kind of basis and went to the furthest possible extremes. Some of these accusations
included forcing the children to drink blood laced Kool Aid, throwing children and sharks in the
swimming pool they had at the daycare, and cutting out the heart of a baby. Some of the more wild
accusations were holding a gun to a child s head and forcing him to assault his infant sister while

Descartes Meditations On First Philosophy
Descartes uses the dream experience and the idea of an evil genius to explain that our senses can
deceive us. Descartes explains that there is systematic doubt meaning our sense experiences such
as sight, smell, touch, taste, and hear can deceive us. However, Descartes explains how sight
(vision) can deceive us, such as our dreams. Descartes goes in deeper to explain his dream theory
in the First Mediation in the Meditations on First Philosophyby saying that there isn t a way for us
to determine whether the experiences in our dreams from those experiences when we are awake
because they are real that they are able to deceive us. This is because while we are dreaming, we
usually are not aware that we are dreaming. For example, dreams can deceive us by experiencing
a visual sensation. Imagine while you are dreaming of being fully clothes with a shirt, pants,
and shoes. Descartes explains the visual sensation of our dreams must have had influence from
outside objects and that those objects in our dreams do exist in the outside world. So, even
though our dreams may look real it is false. The main question comes into play, How do we know
if we re not dreaming now? we don t he explains because if everything in our dreams feel so real
and everything right now feels right. How do we know if we re not dreaming right now?... Show

Descartes explains that God is perfect and something perfect has to be good, because God is
good He would not deceive us. God is powerful enough to deceive us about everything but God

The Evil Genius and God are both extremely powerful and smart, however, the Evil Genius is bad
and bad people are capable and can deceive us. Descartes now have a reason to doubt contingent
truths and necessary truths (mathematics). However, Descartes cannot doubt The Cogito (I think)

Sherman Alexie Pros And Cons
I believe the success and controversy of this book is a tribute to the power of words. It is an
example of the ability of an artistic creation to transform and affect society. Sherman s Alexie s
book, completely on its own merit, is doing exactly as he intended. He meant to draw kids into his
text and speak to them from the inside of teen culture and language. Through the appreciation of
teachers and parent objection this book has been appreciated by thousands of teens who identified
with the adult themes. Alexie himself, amidst the controversy, reports visiting classrooms and
speaking to readers who personally dealt with poverty, racism, depression and gang warfare.
Students have told him stories of abuse, absentee parents, learning disabilities

Bel Implex Nigeria Limited Management

2.1 BRIEF OVERVIEW OF BEL IMPLEX NIGERIA LIMITED
Bel Implex Limited, the converting arm of Bel Papyrus Limited, the group s paper mill operation
was incorporated by Group Boulos in 2001. Bel Implex is equipped with the best European
converting machines. However, Bel is currently producing and distributing several lines and sub
brands of tissue paper such as: facial tissue, toilet tissue, baby wipes, table napkins, kitchen towel,
handkerchiefs and diapers.
Due to the quality of its products, Bel has maintained an eminent reputation and its market shares
grew constantly and steadily over the past years through an efficient distribution network s
everlasting commitment to fulfil the customer s needs and meet their every expectation.
Nevertheless, in order for Bel to increase their shareholders worth by creating exchanges that satisfy
the objectives of shareholders, the German market in the EU would be the right market for growth
expansion and would also position the firm to optimise value creation (Hollensen, 2007). However,
the rationale behind this choice of country is due to the fact that customers in Germany are very
careful about hygiene compared to some of the Asian and African countries that have other
alternatives like water (Euromonitor, 2012).It is also assumed that, like the UK, many of the
products in the disposable paper market are considered to be essential by German consumers. Also
it assumed that the Germans consume 13.7kg of tissue per year

A Specific Moment In My Life That Has Drastically Impacted...
If I had to pin point a specific moment in my life that has drastically impacted my academic
career it would be the summer class I took last year at my community college. We were all in
class talking about career planning and what majors we were going to choose once we finished
the course and my professor brought up a very good point. She was asking us all what we
wanted to do and most of us didn t have a solid answer so she looked around the room and asked,
when you guys were kids what did you want to be when you grew up? The first thing I thought of
was that I wanted to be a singer. That however would never work out because I cannot sing to save
my life. Other students were saying things like doctors, lawyers, and other big jobs like that.

weekend afternoon, braying at the top of his or her lungs and swinging an arm back and forth,
wielding the legendary tomahawk with hundreds of others. It feels good, like being a part of some
unified movement. What some may not realize is that they are a part of an American movement
that turns a blind eye to hostility and racial abuse towards Natives. This movement takes Native

. .called redskins (Harjo). Natives were hunted and slaughtered, their skin treated like trophies.
Calling someone a redskin is not a compliment. It is a painful, derogatory name for Natives, a
tragic reminder of their history that sport teams and fans remain unaware or unbothered by.
Additionally, the NCAA agrees that sport teams with names and logos that demean Natives
should not be allowed to compete. NCAA protests that schools or sport teams with a nickname
or logo considered racially or ethnically hostile or abusive (NCAA) will not be allowed to
compete in post season games. NCAA is taking a long awaited step in addressing the slanderous
image American sports have painted of Natives. NCAA is a powerful force in the American
way of life. They are finally telling America that the current treatment of Natives in sports media
is not acceptable and they will not except or support it. If NCAA has decided that logos and
names abusive towards Natives have got to go, then maybe we should take that into account.
Though, NCAA and Americans have only just begun to seriously address this matter, it is
important to remember that this issue has been around for much longer. For years Natives have
desperately protested for their right to be treated respectfully and accurately portrayed for the
people that they are. Not by sport team mascots and logos. We are not mascots, 66 year old Roche

Inside Job Movie Review
Movie Review of INSIDE JOB Earth provides enough to satisfy every man s needs, but not every
man s greed, said Mahatma Gandhi and this is somewhat the crux of this movie. Inside Job is
directed by Charles Ferguson, and it highlights the reasons and the consequences of the global
financial crisis of 2008. This movie is basically related to recession that was caused by the
inefficiency of the industry and the unfavourable banking practices. The director has conducted
several interviews and has exposed some hidden realities. The movie clearly shows that this crisis
was not accidental, and that there were many people, including regulators, politicians, businessmen,
who were actively involved in this destruction. These people and large... Show more content on

Every person asking for loan was treated equally and was given the loan. So basically these were
the riskiest loans and investments made. Along with this the rating agencies were paid heavy
amounts by investment banks in order to get the CDOs highly rated and this was the main
problem actually. Everyone was satisfied that it is highly rated so it is safe. Other banks kept
on purchasing these CDOs due to this reason. All this lead to huge mortgages all around and
therefore housing prices increased dramatically creating a bubble. According to experts this was
not real money it was just being created by the system. Leverage ratios were increasing. It is the
ratio of bank s borrowed money and its own money. As borrowings were far more than their own
money that is why leverage ratios were high and asset base was decreasing dramatically. AIG, an
insurance company was selling huge amounts of derivatives for CDO owners. It was an
insurance policy that if CDO goes wrong AIG will pay the loss to the investors. AIG did this
because it was so sure that nothing can go wrong as almost all CDOs are rated AAA and along
with this it will get premium from the investors. But AIG s anticipation was wrong, when all
CDOs went bad it faced losses. AIG also involved speculators which resulted in even large losses.
People were unable to pay back their loans and therefore the whole system collapsed

Essay about Hip Hop
Hip hop is known as a culture movement. Hip hop is a pleasing art form, formed by African
Americans and Latinos in the late seventies. Its formation derives from a young generation of
African Americans in South Bronx, New York. They created a beautiful, complimentary
expression of melody, skill and dance from an environment of poverty. Ever since it has
encouraged people from all across the world. Hip hop is discussed as an art form and not just
flowing, it typically is meant to include the four essentials: DJing, MCing, graffiti writing, and
break dancing. Hip Hop helped renew the identity of these elements. In studying the history of hip

Hip hop has influences on other type of music also, from blues to rock and roll. The youth of this
generation see hip hop like what the older generation see blues. An essential to hip hop is graffiti
writing. Before hip hop it was used as a political expression for different gangs. Now, many
people use it as a way to bring their words to life. It carries meaning and expression of thoughts
and ideas. It holds feeling and energy. It holds a strength and assortment that not just the artist
can see. It carries independence, motive and inspiration. Not everyone can understand what it
beholds. It contains beauty and grace. Lyrical poets use it to state ideas, no matter the cost of
conveying them. Graffiti was around since existence of human and thousands of years before
written languages urbanized. The natives used their environment as a canvas for expression.
Artists use a wall as a canvas. It doesn t even require a museum to see it; all you have to do is
wander about the city to discover the building s walls. Graffiti artists are the Picassos of hip hop
culture. They depict a language, an image, a voice and a vision. The artist is free. The message
can be seen by anyone. You can locate numerous graffiti writing that is used in slang. Slang is the
language of hip hop. The artist Lil Wayne popularize the term bling bling. Hip hop was only known
inside United States previous to the early eighties. Throughout the decade the lyrics spread to every

Importance Of Abolition Of Child Labour
The effective abolition of child labour is one of the most urgent challenges of our time. Today,
we have a better grasp of the size and the shape of the problem. More than 200 million child
labourers worldwide, some 180 million are now suspected to be toiling in the worst forms of child
labour those activities that the global community has unanimously agreed are inexcusable under
any circumstances and must be eliminated without de lay. The persistence on such a scale of this
violation of children s basic human rights casts a shadow over us all. The past decade has seen an
unprecedented convergence of thought and action around this cause, in recognition of the fact that
the abolition of child labour is an issue at the heart of social and economic development and not at
its margins. The ILO s International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour(IPEC) has,
over its ten years of existence, become the largest single technical cooperation programme of the
Organization. The ILO will mark the first World Day against Child Labour on 12 June 2002.

Diversity In English
The English language is constantly changing and adapting. There are so many different forms,
dialects, and accents etc. The way that they have evolved and become what they are currently is
perhaps the most interesting thing, even moreso that wondering what they might potentially
become as they continue to adapt to fit the time. I took a class this semester called Diversity and
in this class we discussed the idea of accents as way to stereotype people. We hear the way that
one person speaks and use that to determine things about them that we absolutely shouldn t. For
example assuming that someone with an accent you don t recognize or is hard for you to
understand is less educated or has less money. In that class we looked into more regional accents...

today. People still tend to believe in stereotypes and racial ones at that when they see literature

  • 2. An Age Of Mass Migration And International Terrorism In an age of mass migration and international terrorism, the intersection of liberty and equality while also pursuing domestic security and efficiency is a major concern. The ability to untangle these forces is critical to national identities and to resolving contradictions between these principles in order to strengthen the values of justice. The values of liberty, equality, security and efficiency have different weights, but all of these have come to characterize the modern state, have guided the formation of domestic public policy and continue to constitute the criteria by which policy success is judged. This paper aims to outline the national policy objectives and the value oriented solutions of societal problems like the ones mentioned above. Since September 11 2001, the type of terrorist attacks which have emerged have begun to have major ramifications on how states are able to aspire to the ideals of liberty, equality, security and efficiency. States have changed the way they conduct policy and focus on efforts to face the challenge of how efforts to increase security may have curtailed citizens liberties (Haubrich, 400). The anti terrorismstrategies and tactics that democratic states have employed in order to neutralize terrorist threats have varied widely. Some have been reactive, others proactive or preventative. However, all measures have been concerned about the trust citizens have in those in power and the legitimacy of their rule as well as protecting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Wealth Argument Analysis A middle class citizen sits in a courtroom while a wealthy citizen sits in a different courtroom. Same charge, different outcome. The wealth gives the first class citizen a very unfair advantage within the judicial system. First, he can hire lawyers that know how to find any and every loophole in the system to get their client off with little to no charges. Even if the charge is as drastic as manslaughter. This happens everyday all over the country as wealthbails people out of consequences. Ethan Couch lived in Westlake, Texas a suburb of Fort Worth where average income was $194,666 in 2015. • 4. What Role Does Religion Play In Hamlet As a shadow approached Marcellus, Barnardo, and Horatio, they questioned the state of their country and the unfortunate circumstances regarding Hamlet. The ghost, originally a catholic idea, was presented as an uncertain character is used to symbolize the development of the revenge plot, delay of Hamlet s actions, and foreshadowing of death. The ghostdid not simply introduce an idea of revenge, it also represented the unpleasant idea which at the time was popular: revenge. When the ghost approaches Hamlet, it lures him to create a private conversation between them. The ghost told Hamlet, Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder, and led Hamlet in a direction that shifted his purpose in life from mourning to objective revenge (Shakespeare,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Seeing ghosts in any tradition is an omen of something negative. Marcellus directly said, Something is rotten in the state of Denmark (Shakespeare, Act 1, Scene 4). As a tragedy, death is certainly one of the many themes of Hamlet. The ghost, a dead person s soul, tells Hamlet that his father s death was caused by his uncle. By suggesting revenge as a way to fix his father s sins, the ghost s dialogue foreshadows the death of the Claudius. Given the circumstances of the public agreeing to usurp of the throne, Hamlet s unusual behavior, and involvement of outside characters, Hamlet s journey to seek vengeance will include the death of other characters. The ghost acted as the firebrand that initiated a series of deaths by simply suggesting the death of one individual: Claudius. Without much effort, Hamlet is persuaded to avenge his late father and unknowingly take his own life. Marcellus statement ultimately became the truth after the death of both Claudius and Gertrude, Hamlet s mother, and some other uninvolved characters like Ophelia and Polonius. The ghost did not only complicate the entire story of Hamlet, it also developed the theme of revenge and Hamlet s delay of vengeance. However, it can be inferred that if the character of the ghost was not included in the story, then the story of Hamlet would not have happened. In the process ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Are Democracies More Than Other Kinds Of Political... Are democracies less likely to go to war than other kinds of political regimes? Democracy is considered as a peaceful entity and the world without war. American president Woodrow Wilson, for example, believes that democracy is inherently peace desiring and consequently contributes to the world peace, replacing war like political regime (Gat, 2006). Democracy is a system of government, consisted of four key elements. Firstly, it is a means of choosing the leaders of the citizens and replacing the government, if they do not achieve their commitments, through free and fair election. Secondly, people actively participate in the public and civic life in democracy. Democracy depends on the participation of the citizens, and it must be peaceful, respectful of the law, and tolerant of the different views of other groups and individuals. Thirdly, every individual has the certain rights, which the state cannot take away from him or herself in democracy. In other words, the human rights of all citizens is protected by the democracy. Finally, democracy is a system of rule by laws, not by individuals, and the rule of law protects the rights of citizens, maintains order, and limits the power of government. Every person is equal under the law (Barkawi and Laffey, 2001). Further, Democracy is largely supported by liberal thinkers such as John Locke and Immanuel Kant, and liberalism is the main theory, which supports democracy and identifies the crucial aspects of democracy. • 7. Social Medi The Truth Social Media The Truth Social Media is a hotly debated topic in modern times. On one side, people say that it can help spread information quickly, or help catch criminals, but on the other, people often claim that they can be dangerous and that they lack privacy. The truth of the matter is, Social Networks should be banned, especially for children. Social Media destroys the basic human ability to interact with others. Future generations, this one included, will only spend more and more time on sites like these. Some people would say that Social Media helps catch and prosecute criminals, but the few times in which this does happen is heavily outweighed by the amount of privacy of which they lack, and the fact that they often expose users to government and corporate intrusions. A 2012 survey found that 13 million Facebook users said that they had not set or known about the site s privacy settings, and another 28% shared all, or nearly all, of their posts publicly. Facebook is infamous for its lack of security, how it forces users to stay on and use their site and secretly tracks them. They often make privacy settings hard to find. Most, if not all, of their users would rather keep their info private, but Facebook and other Social Networking sites often make that a hard thing to do. Another report declared that the US Justice Department intercepted 1,661 pieces of information from social networking sites and emails in 2011. With many social media sites being money focused, they often sell their user s information to shady organizations. These sites expose their users too much and too often. This is further supported by the fact that the 2009 IRS training manual teaches agents to scan Facebook pages for information that might assist in resolving a taxpayer case. Organizations such as this one now even promote social media stalking . It s immensely difficult to stay and feel safe on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These aspects of discovery are thoroughly explored in the text Rainbow s End by Jane Harrison, Billy Elliot by Stephen Daldry and the door visual text. Moreover, discoveries can offer new understandings and perceptions about self and others. The concept of discovery is portrayed through the protagonists Billy and Jackie in the film Billy Elliot whereas in Rainbow s end, it is through by Gladys and Dolly. The visual text highlights the aspect of discovery can lead to new worlds and also self discovery. The symbolism of a door wide open demonstrates that discoveries can lead to new places. The use of the sparkle and the white background near the doorknob implies a sense of surprise and wonder emphasising that discoveries can be unexpected and positive. The most important part of this visual text is a male head acting as a border around the door. This implies the aspect of self discovery and links with discovering leading to new worlds and places. To further explore this idea, the male head is a symbolism for an individual and it suggests that self discovering of one s strength and skills allows the individual to discover what he/she likes and succeed. Another key thing is that the door is contained within the interior of the head more specifically the brain. The brain is where an individual thinks and understands his personality. As a result, the door replaces the brain meaning the individual should first know himself, hence self discovery. In conclusion, the visual image utilised a variety of visual techniques to highlight aspect of self discovery and discoveries leading to new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Challenges Of Manification In Margaret Atwood s The... Attwood gives the maids the justice they deserved by giving them a voice to tell their story. She brought to light the trouble of the maids, whom many barely even spared a second thought, and forced readers to hear their side of the story. Their story was riveting and compelling in such a way that with less than half the novel dedicated to them, they still commandeered the attention of the story. While Attwood will never be able to right all the wrongs that were done to the maids in The Odyssey, she has done, to the best of her ability, to correct the misgivings done to them and her best was well worth the effort. The maids point of view of what occurred to them during The Odyssey, will not soon be forgotten, (Omari, Kifah (Moh d Khair) Ali Al, and Hala Abdel Razzaq A. Jum ah. Language stratification: a critical reading of Margaret Atwood s The Penelopiad). The other narrative of this novel focusses on Penelope. Penelope is telling her side of the story from the underworld. Penelope has many character flaws that range from her proneness to weeping to her bitter view of others and herself. The Odyssey made Penelope out as a flat character who had no character development and the two most notable thing about her character were her ability to cry over everything and how she wove and unwove the shroud she was making for her father in law. Attwood shows her as a cunning and imperfect character that is more dynamic than her original depiction. Attwood s version of Penelope is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The following analysis will examine advantages and disadvantages of maintaining the current command team model at the Company and Battalion level verses re flagging the Company and Battalion Warrant Officer positions to Command Chief Warrant Officer (CCWO) positions. • 12. Should The Government Deplete The Price Of Illegal Drugs Based on the given scenario, if the government declares marijuana and cocaine illegal the price of illegal drugs increases, creating more gangs and gang welfare. Due to the high price of illegal drugs, fewer street drugs are consumed. I personally think that the government trying to be rational about the drugmarket would lead them to a market failure. In the article, it stated that a legal dispensary charged $70 for up to 1 ounce of marijuana and less than that, 0.25 being the maximum, to customers that were from out of town. Most cartels would take a hard hit due to the scarcity of their products because this public policy would put marijuana and cocaine in high demand. • 13. Essay about Sonnet to Science by Edgar Allen Poe Sonnet to Science by Edgar Allen Poe Edgar Allen Poe s Sonnet to Science is an example of how the structure of a poem can both aid and hinder the poet in communicating his or her thoughts. Usually, when the poet chooses to structure his poem in the form of a sonnet, he is, through his speaker, asking a question and reaching an answer. In this poem, however, the speaker, probably a young poet, questions Science but reaches no conclusion. Poe uses the English sonnet to communicate his youthful speaker s feelings of disdain for science and facts as opposed to mythology and fantasy, which inspire poetic musings. He implores Science as to why she must impose her dull realities on the hearts of poets like himself, squelching their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first time the speaker uses a personal pronoun is in line 13, at the turn of the sonnet. He states that Science, in addition to undoing the magic of classical mythology, has stolen his personal summer dream. The speaker is evidently a dreamer and poet disappointed by the damper that fact places on fancy. The tone throughout the poem is one of questioning, like most sonnets. However, in this particular poem, the speaker is disdainful to the subject, Science. He angrily accuses Science of preying like a vulture upon the poet s heart. The speaker seems to have personal resentment against Science, because he names himself as suffering a loss at the hands of fact and reality along with the mythological Diana, Hamadryad, and Naiad. In the first line of the poem, Science! true daughter of Old Time thou art!, the speaker appears to be respectful toward Science, and the reader might mistake this poem for a tribute to the subject. However, the tone immediately changes when he describes Science as having peering eyes in line 2. This is the reader s first indication that the speaker holds contempt for the daughter of Old Time. The speaker s descriptions of Science grow worse as he accuses her of dragging Diana from her car, the moon, and driving the Hamadryad from her wood, a tree which she is never supposed to leave. • 14. The Biofuel Industry Biofuels have been used as a source of energy for thousands of years. Wood was the first biofuel to be used as a means to create fires for cooking. Since that time we have discovered numerous ways to use them and the various forms of biofuels that are available for use. Presently our use of biofuels consists largely of additives to gasoline in the form of ethanol. Ethanol is found in almost all of our gasoline products today, in which about 10% is typically mixed as an additive. Some gas stations are now offering nearly pure ethanol fuelknown as E85 which is 85% ethanol. This makes ethanol the most common biofuelused worldwide. In response to this, farmers around the world have increased biofuel plant production as a means to meet the new growing demand for it. As time goes on, more modern farming practices are expected to continue to increase the output at which farmers can grow corn and other ethanol producing plants thereby fueling the biofuel gas industry. With more resources available to use, ethanol will be an even cheaper additive than it is now. Biofuels as a whole are made up of a large variety of organisms or their byproducts, leaving a multiple of sources to choose from. This is what makes biofuel energy an attractive source of fuel for the future. One company named Algenol is leading the world in algae research development that they claim will revolutionize the biofuel industry completely. King came from a family of preachers, his father and grandfather, who helped lead him to also being a preacher. King went to college for theology and continued his academic career by earning a doctorate degree in theological studies. These degrees will help guide King in his writings and speeches. King uses religion to prove the point on why the protests are not a bad thing to the audience of the eight clergymen. King wrote a letter that reaches audiences that weren t thought of when it was written. He knew of the clergyman and many of the then present day populations that were going to read his story, but the letters have touched so many people in the present day. King knew his then present day audience to a tee. He starts his letter with one of his key indicators; My dear Fellow Clergymen (263). While doing this he knew who was going to read the letter but also that these people will understand his references to religion, in which the letter is littered with references to the Bible. King uses religion to prove why he is in Birmingham. He is there to spread the message, but was thrown into jail and is trying to prove a point on why there is significance for the protest in Birmingham; I am in Birmingham because injustice is here. This in turn makes coherent demodulation schemes rather unattractive and impractical. Malode and Patil (2010) proposed the peak to average power ratio reduction performance... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chin Liang Wang and Yuan Ouyang ( 2005) introduce a Selected mapping method .The Selected mapping method approach provides good performance for peak to average power ratio reduction reduction, but it requires a bank of Inverse Fast Fourier Transforms to generate a set of candidate transmission signals, and this requirement usually results in high computational complexity. The author suggests low complexity conversions to replace the Inverse Fast Fourier Transform blocks in the conventional Selected mapping method method. Two novel Selected mapping method schemes were proposed with much lower complexity than the conventional one; the first method uses only one Inverse Fast Fourier Transform block to generate the set of candidate signals, while the second one uses two Inverse Fast Fourier Transform blocks. Computer simulation results show that, as compared to the conventional Selected mapping method scheme, the first proposed approach has slightly worse peak to average power ratio reduction reduction performance and the second proposed one reaches almost the same peak to average power ratio reduction reduction performance. Chin Liang wang continues his investigation by oversampling two times of the Ortogonal Frequancy Division Multiplexing signals by applying peak search and partial interpolation method. I am hopeful that this letter will apprise you about my personality, work ethic, and other characteristics. When I was younger, I enjoyed being constantly active; whether that be hanging off the couch while watching T.V. or running around my house yelling incoherent phrases to drive my mother insane, I did it all. One day, I stumbled upon a video of a girl teaching the viewer how to do a skill named the back handspring (a skill where you push off from an upright standing position into vertical back onto your feet to complete a full rotation). In awe, it inspired me to attempt it myself, until I realized it took a lot more to flip backwards and expect to land on your hands without falling onto your face. A plantation mistress is in charge of supervising the domestic household. Some of the cultural differences included: details, where they live, visuals, sound effects (music), photos, and clothing. This film includes many details, including a scene of a blue fly that was capable of flapping 70 beats a minute and landed in Montmartre. In a restaurant, the wind made two glasses dance on a tablecloth, which led to show how Amelie was born. Those scenes weren t necessary, but in the French culture they might have been because they value the littlest things. It also shows how life in France is. It used to be that a community, in order to function as a group and interact, had to be in the same geographic location or at least within driving distance. Since the internet has now become so widely available we find that people with common interests and goals are reaching across vast distances to interact with each other. This is because while we are dreaming, we usually are not aware that we are dreaming. For example, dreams can deceive us by experiencing a visual sensation. Imagine while you are dreaming of being fully clothes with a shirt, pants, and shoes. Descartes explains the visual sensation of our dreams must have had influence from outside objects and that those objects in our dreams do exist in the outside world.
