The physiological damage from exposure to different substances and work processes is
relatively well known for adult workers,11 but more needs to be learned about the short and long
term effects of different types of work on girls and boys of various ages and health status.12 Such

Diversity In English
The English language is constantly changing and adapting. There are so many different forms,
dialects, and accents etc. The way that they have evolved and become what they are currently is
perhaps the most interesting thing, even moreso that wondering what they might potentially
become as they continue to adapt to fit the time. I took a class this semester called Diversity and
in this class we discussed the idea of accents as way to stereotype people. We hear the way that
one person speaks and use that to determine things about them that we absolutely shouldn t. For
example assuming that someone with an accent you don t recognize or is hard for you to
understand is less educated or has less money. In that class we looked into more regional accents...
He writes in proper almost Shakespearian English, beautiful prose that was widely accepted by
the masses. He also writes in that same work of literature in the language of the slave. He had a
clear understanding of each and a desire to represent them properly. In the two passages from Life
and Times represented here he was describing the same things but they could not sound more
different. The way that AAVE is written conveys the same message as the educated passage but
comes uses dialect rather than learned language to do so. This is a common trend in literature still
today. People still tend to believe in stereotypes and racial ones at that when they see literature
written in a language or in this case, dialect that they can t understand. The educated passage proves
a formal education but the one written in dialect shows the same understanding. This is the
important distinction. This shows how AAVE is judged, because the latter sounds less educated it
would be assumed that it was written by a less educated person but that s not the
