Argumentative Essay Titled Stay Positive
Stay Positive
Even if things may seem bad, you should always stay positive.
If you were in a horrible situation, what would you do?
You should always be positive no matter what situation you are in. Like Anne Frank when she was in
hiding and she had looked on the brighter side of their hiding place. Someone else who looked on the
brighter side of things was Winston Churchill. While the Axis powers were taking over Europe
Churchill kept Great Britain hopeful and calm. Anne Frank is well known for her diary which held the
information of the events that she had gone through while in hiding with her family. She had died 1
week before the camps were liberated. Her diary holds the information of each day she was in hiding.
Each day had a more serious feeling, but she kept a positive attitude. When her family was upset about
the chiming of the western clock, but she had gotten used to it and had accepted it and even though in
her words ¨It may be damp and lopsided, but there s probably not a more comfortable hiding place in
all of Amsterdam. No, in all of Holland.¨ As we can see even though it is damp and lopsided Anne
Frank looks at the brighter things. Winston Churchill also looked on the brighter side of things. He
kept all of Great Britain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Elie had kept calm during the holocaust in Auschwitz. Examples of him staying calm is when he and
his father were separated from his mother and his sister. This is a quote that shows how he stayed
positive. ¨Confidence soared. Suddenly we felt free of the previous night s terrors. We gave thanks to
God. . This quote shows an example of hope. Hope is a form of positivity, so with that, it shows Elie
has had a positive attitude. He stayed positive and calm when he had a gold tooth taken away and then
found out it was pointless when he was killed for his side business of selling the teeth. He had also
kept calm when the bombs were dropped at

Duality Of Organized Religion
The Duality of Organized Religion and Spirituality
From the beginning of human existence, religion and spirituality have played immense, critical roles
in the lives of people and the functionings of our society. In our world today, the conflict in religious
forces combined with the conflict in spiritual forces depict both our confusion and our yearning to
connect with divine forces and influence the people around us for good. Organized Religion and
spirituality both provide their own unique, important influences and opportunities to individuals and
our society. Each have their own set of benefits and detriments and analyzing these are growingly
essential to our world because people choose to participate in one or the other or both and ... Show

From ancient Egypt, we find the first official records of religious practice. Egyptian religion was a
large, polytheistic system complete with idols, statues and the pyramids. Religion in ancient Egypt
dictated nearly everything anybody said, wore or did on a daily basis. Phoenicia, Palestine, Greece and
Rome all followed with similar references to the divine and texts that portrayed themes of holiness
and mythological practices.(Mark http://www.ancient.eu/religion/) The Hindu faith is perfect evidence
of the resilience and strength of religion. Founded in India in 2,000 BCE, it is still one of the most
widely accepted and has one of the largest populations in the world. (BBC No Author
http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/hinduism/) Throughout history we have seen religion in many
different forms such as mythology and these forms have often been manifest in governments and
societies. This proves its resilience and vibrancy since the beginning of human existence and today in
our modern culture. Mankind has both created and relied on religion from the very beginning and how
those systems have stayed dependable and substantial in the forces of the worlds governmental and
societal organizations.
Another advantage to Organized religion is that in many circumstances it can cultivate love and
service in a community. Service organizations, community functions and assistance

Sororities Vs Cults Essay
Conditional Unconditional Love. Cults and Sororities. The collective congregation of others to meet
or attain a certain goal is the same for all social creatures. Two predominant groups showcase this
ideology quite well, these two being cults and sororities. Cults are a group of people who worship a
figure or object to levels that could be called devotion, and sororities are a group of people who come
together in a university or college for social purposes. These groups share many types of physiological
tactics to cancel out personal autonomy and to promote unity and a sense of acceptance and belonging.
While they have traits in common there are also clear differences in each established collection. A
positive light is shined more on sororities due to their benefits to one s experience in college, while
cults have a more negative connotation due to their extreme devotion and loss of one s personal
power. Each in their own right gives a service that we re subconsciously susceptible to, the need and
desire to belong. Although cults and sororities share many physiological strategies in removing self
autonomy, they greatly vary in their impacts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You may argue that mountain men or some people enjoy being separate from group yet they still will
get pets or attach themselves to a way of life others participate in so that they can identify themselves
with it. Cults and sororities prey on that base need and use it to their advantage. The difference being
on how they use that power can really differentiate which defining term they fall under for it s such a
small gap separating the two. When does organizing people into a collective become immoral? When
does it stop being a support group, and starts being a group that uses its members for their own
purpose? Do we by biological instinct need to put ourselves into

Domino Theory Research Paper
he United States became involved with the Vietnam War to stop communism spreading throughout
Asia. At first, the US only assisted France with military aid, but after a attack on US destroyers in the
Gulf of Tonkin, they became more involved in direct action. The US also got involved with Vietnam
because they didn t want another country going to communism after what happened to China. Another
factor was the pattern of what had happened in Korea. Northern communists pushed to put the whole
country under communism, then America helps the local anticommunists to push them back. President
Dwight D. Eisenhower brought a New Look into the national security policy in 1953. The domino

Inequality In Anthropology
Throughout the history of anthropology and the ethnographic method, topics of ritual, gender and
inequality have been diminutive. Anthropologists have turned their research to primarily minuscule
civilizations, observing participants, surveying and interviewing communities. During this, is it an
absolute necessity to marinate an individual into their preferred society to accumulate a profound
grasp about its people and practical details, which frankly cannot be achieved from literary works. By
doing so the researcher obtains a perceptive education into participants daily essence and formalities.

Tommy and I crossed paths last week, while playing soccer at the recreational center. With the project
lingering in my mind, I decided to approach him and assemble information. With limited material
obtained, he was born in China, and his family moved to the United States when he was ten. In spite
of his origins, what s intriguing is that he has been exposed to both the Western practice and his
native. Making him an untarnished participant, candidly a best of both worlds. Obtaining access to his
home is something that won t be a practical issue. His parents property however could be troublesome.
Briefly speaking with Tommy, they are disciplinary, tentative, genuine Chinese folks. Terminology

Essay On Cuban Embargo
Embargoes are restrictions on trade between countries used to achieve some kind of goal. The United
States has imposed an embargo on Cuba to encourage the Cuban government to change the way they
run themselves because the United States does not agree with the system of government they have in
place. This embargo enacts total restrictions on trade and travel between the United States and Cuba.
The United States embargo against Cuba should be lifted because it is doing more harm than good to
both countries involved.
To start, embargoes in the United States started with Jefferson s Embargo of 1807 ( The Embargo of
1807 ). Embargoes are put in place by countries in hopes to maintain or restore peace between
countries ( Sanctions, Embargoes and Restrictions ). They can be enacted for a number of different
reasons including moral, political, or environmental objections or concerns (Berkheimer). Embargoes
seek to encourage a country to change the regimes or groups that have allowed the behavior from
which the concerns arise. They do this by way of bans on certain things like travel, arms, or ... Show

Both of these problems created by the embargo leave ordinary citizens to suffer, not their government.
Because of the wholesale ban on trade, American food and related supplies cannot be exported to
Cuba. Many of the Cuban citizens are malnourished which leads to medical problems Cubans do not
have the resources to handle. Malnourishment also means pregnant women cannot receive what their
bodies need during pregnancies, leading to a high infant mortality rate for a developed country. Due to
trade restrictions Cuba cannot get any significant number of water treatment chemicals to purify water
for drinking. This has led to a decrease in the amount of safe drinking water that is available to Cuban
citizens ( Denial of

Food Culture With High Fructose Corn Syrup Essay
Damaging the Food Culture with High Fructose Corn Syrup
The food culture that we have are practices, beliefs, and ways we use to make food and consume it.
Furthermore it is how we understand it as a whole and how it can shape us. Certain foods all around us
can change people individually or as a group, the ability to express ourselves with food is
endless. Some people may love the food for flavor , some may love to take pictures of the food and
some people may just eat it because of their religion. People in the food culture can express whatever
they want with food in many other ways, for example financial status, power, creativity, etc. It is
amazing what people can do when it come to this, but what people do not know are its dangers.
Sometimes people only see the good part behind the food and are oblivious to what it really is. The
audience can maybe overlook how the food was made and in many ways overlook what is good for
them and what is not. Many of the foods nowadays are made in labs and in so many different ways we
can not think of. A certified dietitian named Katherine Zeratsky says High fructose corn syrup can
contribute unwanted calories that are linked to health problems, such as weight gain, type 2 diabetes,
etc . All of these health problems dealing with the chemical high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). This
product is in sodas, Fruit drinks, Syrups, and even more. We consume this everyday and it is cheaper
to make it that real sugar and it apparently taste better.

XI. Holden v Hardy was a major case during McKinley s time that dealt with the labor movement, but
in a specific arena. This case upheld a law limiting the work day of a group of miners in Utah, because
it was proven that the conditions they were working under were dangerous. Although, it was only one
victory, a victory it was for the labor movement. In 1898, Williams v Mississippi, upheld the
Mississippi plan, which set a literacy test and poll taxes for Mississippi voters. Though this plan
essentially excluded many Blacks and poor whites, since it applied to everyone, it was found
constitutional and allowed to continue. XII. President McKinley dealt with several important foreign
policy issues during his term. One of the biggest was the Spanish American War in 1898. This war
initially started when McKinley sent ships and soldiers to have Cubans in their revolt against a
tyrannical Spanish Government. After an American ship was sunk in the conflict, many Americans
called for war against Spain, and McKinley obliged. In the Treaty of Paris, a result of America
winning the short war, the United States gained the territories Puerto Rico and Guam, bought the
Philippines, and remained in military control over Cuba, to which Spain renounced its claims. In

health. Taking an HIV test is an intimidating experience for many people, so I want to provide my
peers a warm, anonymous, and safe space where they can share their experiences while I help them

One solution that the student and I both developed was to tutor them one on one after school while
also giving them snacks in the school library. We ironed out the details with the school librarian. That
way, the student would receive their math help while waiting for their parent in a dry, comfortable
space. This was a small, but crucial step that they formulated with my guidance, and I think that they
developed some independence in meeting their needs while also consulting with someone that they
trust. This is the type of independence that I think an HIV peer test counselor must give their
clients/peers. While you should educate, you must also give students room to voice their concerns so
that they can address them happily.

finally let me go and I ran and took his son s backpack. I bought another butane torch from one of my
favorite hardware stores. I then put in in his bag and put it near a fire. Then, I said I found the

Joseph Stalin s Use Of Sexism In Russia
Crude, primitive, vulgar ; muddle instead of music ; a cacophonous and pornographic insult to the
Soviet people . Pravda, the Soviet government newspaper, made these comments after Joseph Stalin
attended a 1936 performance of Dmitri Shostakovich s opera. His second and final opera, Lady
Macbeth of Mtsensk, got it him into all sorts of trouble because it denounced sexism in Russia. After
this intense criticism from the government and threats of arrest, Shostakovich was forced to withdraw
the premiere of his equally controversial Fourth Symphony. In order to please the government, he
quickly put together a more traditional, triumphant Fifth Symphony (1937); he even referred to it as a

The Resurrection Of God s Glory
Following the fall, mankind and the rest of creation are in an unnatural state of disorder, and mankind
specifically is condemned to the reign of death and separation from God. However, through the
Incarnation, Jesus Christ becomes human and begins to restore mankind to an elevated state, allowing
for mankind and all of creation to serve as a full manifestation of God s glory. As beings created in the
image and likeness of God, mankind is born into relation and unity as exemplified by the Holy Trinity.
Mankind is not a strictly necessary being, but rather a being God chose to create so as to share His
goodness and love, making mankind a true manifestation of God s glory. St. Bonaventure explains that
God created all things not to increase His glory, but to show it forth and to communicate it. However,
following the original sin, mankind enters a fallen state characterized by death and a separation from
God. In this sinful state, mankind is no longer living as our fullest selves and is failing to exemplify
God s true glory. Mankind still remains in this fallen state when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, joins
Himself to creation and enters into humanity through the power of the Holy Spirit. Origen remarks on
the grandeur of God becoming Incarnate saying, But of all the marvelous and splendid things about
[God], there is one that utterly transcends the limits of human wonder and is beyond the capacity of
our weak mortal intelligence to think of or understand, namely,

Outside Influence On The Hawaii
Outside Influences Negatively Impact Hawaii Widely known as paradise , Hawaii is a desired place to
live and vacation. Families, couples, and individuals come to take part in the temperate weather and
beautiful beaches. However, Hawaii now is nothing like it use to be the real history behind this
popular chain of islands is rarely told to visitors. Back in early Hawaiian times, Hawaii was self
sufficient, independent, and gorgeous all around. The number of Native Hawaiians flourished, and
everyone helped contribute to the community. All that changed, however, when outsiders began to
settle here in Hawaii. Although the different outside influences may have brought some positivity to
Hawaii, the negative side of their arrival overwhelmingly defeats it.
Upon his expedition on January 18, 1778, English explorer Captain Cook was the first European to
discover the Hawaiian Islands. While commanding the Resolution and Discovery to explore the
Northwest Passage, Cook and his crew stumbled upon O ahu and Kaua i. Native Hawaiians did not
perceive these British sailors as a threat, and in fact Greeted [Captain Cook] as a sacred high chief or
god ( Captain Cook para 1). However, they were not fully aware of the effects of his arrival.
According to Peter Pirie, a Professor of Geography at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, ...the two
Cook visits refer to the problem of venereal diseases among the crews... [to] their transmission from
the newcomers to the Hawaiian population (75).

man. She became agitated by this, and, She refused to sleep with the impostor, locked her bedroom
door at night, asked her son for a gun, and finally fought with the police when attempts were made to
hospitalize her ( Capgras Delusion ). This particular woman resorted to violence when she was unable

Theories of Motivation Essay
Theories of Motivation
According to Greenberg (1999) motivation is defined as a process of arousing, directing and
maintaining behaviour towards a goal. Where ‘directing refers to the selection of a particular
behaviour; and ‘maintenance refers to the inclination to behave with consistency in that manner until
the desired outcome is met.
Motivation is therefore the force that transforms and uplifts people to be productive and perform in
their jobs. Maximising an employee s motivation is necessary and vital to successfully accomplish the
organisation s objectives and targets. However this is a considerable challenge to any organisation s
managers, due to the complexity of motivation and the fact that there is no ready made ... Show more

Pleasant working conditions and annual recognition of the ‘Best salesman of the year and ‘Best
employee of the year , also enticed productivity and motivation.
On the other hand ‘Extrinsic motivation is related to tangible rewards such as salary, fringe benefits,
job security, promotions and conditions of work. (Mullins, 2002:P490). Therefore extrinsically
motivated behaviours are those carried out to achieve some tangible rewards or compensation.
Once again my employers excelled in designing an ideal incentive system, in their effort towards
employee motivation. They already offered very competitive wages, of course on the belief that the
more positive the reward the more likely the employee will be highly motivated and the better the
performance (Vroom, 1964). They later introduced a perpetual cash bonus scheme for the junior staff,
where every year instead of bonuses being paid out, they would be retained in the company s
employee fund. A bonus was typically a third of their net salary and with every completed year of
service their bonuses would grow.
However if the employees engaged in activities detrimental to the organisations operations, such as
pilfering, they would thus loose their accumulated bonus. This proved very effective in not only
retaining employees but also motivating them to work towards and within the organisational
parameters at maximum productivity. It also encouraged a sense of belonging and loyalty to the
organisation.

Use Of Mandalas And Its Effect On The World
Mandalas are most commonly referred to as a T ibetan symbol. Christian mandalas can be seen in
rotundas and of course in the architecture of churches. They are directed to the east which is the place
of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In Christian there are circular patterns where the tradition can be
found in rosette windows, on the domes decorating various houses of God and in the circular
labyrinths on the floors of the cathedrals. Mandalas also originated in Slavic culture. We as a society
don t know much about Czech people who are closest to the Slavic culture, because there aren t a lot
of records on them. Slavic people love ornaments, jewelry, ritual instruments and other circular
objects.

Also, mandalas are a representation of a particular deity or even a grouping of them, which could
range from a few to thousands. In those cases, mandalas are formed with the main deity placed in the
center of it, while other deities are placed around the edges of the mandala. The main deity is treated
at the generative force of the mandala while the secondary deities are seen as manifestations of the
power of the center core image.
There are different practices where the symbol of the deity is in the core of the mandala. It
continuously moves from the outside into the middle. Once one is in the center, the practitioner
connects with the central symbol and the person, he or she, is able to perceive all manifestations as a
part of a single underlying whole. They are then closer to understanding and reaching the stage of
enlightenment.
In essence the mandala contains geometric and organic forms. Also, they can have a special meaning
behind the person making the mandala. Mandalas represent the connection between our inner worlds
and outer reality. When creating your own mandala, it can be both inspirational and therapeutic. There
are specific methods when designing a mandala, such as you design from the inside out, but you don t
need a lot of tools when creating one; sometimes just a paper and pen. I chose to work with food dyed
rice on wood to create a few.

The study evaluated the academic, social/emotional, family and physical health well being of
immigrant children with a development for support plans based on the individual needs which build
on skills. The study used a multi method approach with qualitative and quantitative data including
multiple methods of measurement. In addition, longitudinal data was conducted as the intervention
delivery was carried out over a various amount of years. The authors did not over interpret data
discussion. They highlighted the developmental support systems theory that by aligning the child,
family, school, and community assets are critical for promoting positive development. The theory was
compared to the current study intervention linking a positive correlational data to academic
performance, and ELL and English proficiency first generation learners. The study did have internal
validity but rules out potential sources of bias; noted as a limitation. The authors addressed other
limitations; such as there was no potential sources between group variations (family migration, extent
of language isolation, etc.), the inability to precisely measure achievement gains (intervention need for
scientific steps to better guide the support to the barriers of learning), the inability to determine how
many years is enough support and whether the intervention might produce diminishing effects on
achievement once support is withdrawn. This study supports a school practice model and advances the
topic for the development of support plans for all socially disadvantaged students by attending to each

Our Group Surveyed Homeless Individuals To Find Out What
Our group surveyed homeless individuals to find out what needs they thought were most important.
We walked around downtown Asheville near Vance Memorial Park, Library and other parts of
downtown to understand the environment the homeless live daily. I could only invest two hours on the
project due to the lack of communication with BeLoved and finding ways of transportation that will
work around everyone s schedule. My next steps are to provide a data analysis on the information we
collected. 2) Individually, people find themselves engaged in a variety of social environments and
based on experiences of overlapping environments that determine the way in that one behaves. When
we saw homeless people, it appears evident that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It gives us the sense to connect with others on a more interactive level. It allows us to become active
people in the community and become the voice for others. For example, watching members of
Asheville city council and voice opinions about how the community should help provide services for
the homeless. When several community members voice the same concerns, this helps unite a
community under a purpose. From experiences, I have learned that people who see others help will
most likely help if there are a strong structure and a mission behind it. BeLoved has done that for
others. It has provided shelter, a safe place, food, clothes and most of all, love and faith for everyone
that comes to BeLoved. The definition of being homeless can mean many things to different people.
Some may think homeless are lazy people who are just unemployed or criminals trying to steal from
others, or one would be sympathetic to their living conditions and they might have had a bad past that
resulted in homeless. I think it is amazing to see that one word can have different meanings, after all
this culture. Culture is how we create an understanding of socioeconomic status and practice our own
interpretation. Therefore, culture is changeable depending on the structure. This allows us to see the
struggles of healthcare among the homeless one way; however, the government can

How to Bake Colonial Bread Essay
Introduction Crisp, brown, delicious these all describe the sensation of bread, a food that has managed
to survive throughout time. Thought to be created more than 7000 years ago, bread has played a role
as a staple food from the Ancient Egyptians to the people of today. Bread is now used as a main food
source that is eaten all over the world. Even in the midst of the colonial times, colonists created bread
as a main food product in their time. Bread was made in the colonists daily lives, for it was a versatile
food that was simple to make. By following steps and having some patience, we may recreate bread
like the colonists once did.

As you transition from using the spoon to your hands when mixing the dough, you will notice that the
dough will end up with a rugged look. Be sure to clean the sides of the bowl with the dough. With the
dough ready, it is now time to move on to kneading.
Step 3: KNEADING THE DOUGH To begin kneading, you must lightly sprinkle flour on a wooden
surface or counter, about 1 tablespoon. Cover your hands with flour and plop the dough on the
working area. Hold one side of the dough with one hand and stretch the top portion of the dough with
another hand without tearing it. Turn the dough and continue kneading for 8 to 10 minutes until the
dough is smooth and stretchy. Add flour to the dough if it still is sticky and toss it 2 to 3 times during
kneading.
Step 4: FERMENTING THE DOUGH Once the dough has been kneaded, it is time to allow the yeast
in the bread to rise. First, settle the dough in the original mixing bowl that is lightly spread with flour.
Tapping the dough with lightly buttered fingers is not necessary, but will prevent the dough s surface
from drying up. With a dry towel, cover the bowl and place the it in a warm area around 80 85oF for 1
hour. The dough should be twice its original size once finished rising. A tip to check if the dough has
risen is to poke one finger into the dough. If the dent stays, the dough has properly risen.
Step 5: SHAPING AND SECOND RISING With the dough

Accounting Standards Boards Paper
Accounting Standards Boards Paper
In recent years there has been significant changes made in our understanding of the relationship
between the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the Financial Accounting
Standards Board (FASB). At present both the IASB and FASB are working on a joint venture referred
to as the convergence project in hopes of eliminating a variety of differences between International
Financial Reporting Standards and U.S. GAAP. Another area covered in this paper besides a brief
history of the relationship between the IASB and FASB will be how the MSA program will prepare
students for the accounting profession. The intent of this paper will be to address both issues first;

is the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). The FASB is a private organization responsible
for establishing a broad range of reporting standards and specific accounting rules. The FASB has
made possible for investors, creditors, auditors, and others a means of using financial information that
is transparent and comparable here in the U.S.
IASB and FASB Relationship
On November 18, 2002 the FASB and IASB came together at a meeting in Norwalk, Connecticut to
start the wheels in motion for the purpose of establishing a new set of financial standards. The FASB
and IASB are committed to create financial standards that will be accepted both domestically and
internationally that are of high quality and compatible for financial reporting. At present more than a
100 countries already use the International Financial Reporting Standards. The U.S. at present has not
accepted a changed in accounting procedures; therefore, this is going to be a major task for both the
FASB and IASB to complete successfully this union. I do believe that the partnership between the
FASB and IASB will achieve the goals of creating a common financial reporting set of standards that
will be accepted by all.
The Convergence Project
The convergence project is to be divided into a short term and long term process. The short term
projects will consist of issues that can be dealt within a time frame of up to two years. In this time
frame the hope is to reduce

Nazi s Persecution Of The Handicapped Essay
Nazi s Persecution of the Handicapped
Frank Cai
History
November 8th
Holocaust is considered one of the worst man caused disaster ever in the history of human life.
Hundreds of millions of people died during the Holocaust. Even worse, the victim of the Holocaust is
based on race. Why did Adolf Hitler pick on the Jews? Because when he wants to rise power, one of
the most common ways is propaganda. He said that Jews are the ones that ruined their country. Many
Jews were killed; they were also different kinds of people: just like Jehovah s Witnesses, Roma
Gypsies, Handicapped and many others. While the soldiers were fighting at the front line, hundreds of
thousands of disabled were killed.
Why were the handicapped killed, what s wrong with them? During the time of the war, everything
was scarce, the food, the ammo, and many other resources. And a bunch of other works that they need
to do with the use of human resources. Germany is a small country, with not many workers, and most
people that are strong enough were in the army and went to war. They need enough worker to provide
them with the enough resources that they need. Any people that are in Germany and are not strong
enough (except for children) to work are killed. Hitler and the Nazi think that if they are not strong
enough to work for us and using our resources, what s the point keeping them alive then?
On July 14, 1933, the Nazi government instituted the Law for the Prevention of Progeny with

The Human Eye s Ability
A. Purpose
The objective of this experiment is to demonstrate the human eye s ability to detect different colors in
the visible spectrum. In this experiment a red cross is drawn on a plain, white sheet of paper and
placed upon another clean sheet of paper. The student then stares at the red cross for sixty seconds
without taking their eyes off of the cross. Once the sixty seconds pass the sheet of paper with the cross
is quickly removed the clean sheet of paper underneath is visible. A faint blue green cross should be
clear on the clean sheet.
When examined, an object and its color, the image identified is a wavelength of light that wasn t
absorbed, alike the other wavelengths, by the object. The beam is then reflected towards the ... Show

However, cones are the principal focus of this experiment. To them is attributed both color vision and
the highest visual acuity (HyperPhysics). Current understanding is that the 6 to 7 million cones can be
divided into red cones (64%), green cones (32%), and blue cones (2%) based on measured response
curves (HyperPhysics).
When one type of cone continuously sends the same signal to the brain, the cones hastily become
exhausted. Once one of the three types of cone becomes exhausted, the cone ceases to transmit signals
to the brain. Which causes the brain to assume the cones are tired and holds onto the image. However,
once the top sheet of paper is removed all that is shown is a white sheet of paper and white contains all
light energy. Since the red type cones are nonfunctioning, only the green and blue type cones receive
the wavelengths. This causes the brain to assume the signals it s receiving are a blue green colour
instead of an equal parts red blue green combination, which would form white.
This experiment hopes to show how the human eye detects multiple wavelengths of light, and how the
cones interact the brain. Moreover, the experiment desires to display, not only, how the cones work
individually, but to show how the cones work in unison with each other to produce the colors man
sees. The experiment also hopes to demonstrate the immense complexity contained within the human
eye.

What Is The Theme Of Witchcraft In Macbeth
Lights, Music, and Magic
Macbeth, English playwright William Shakespeare s shortest known play, contains many historical
and cultural allusions to Shakespeare s time. For instance, Shakespeare wrote the play in tribute of
King James I a Scottish king who later ascended the English throne and whose family, Sturats, first
came to the Scottish throne in the eleventh century. Shakespeare used Macbeth to revisit the history of
Scotland when James ancestors became rulers: Historically, Macbeth was a Scottish king who killed
his predecessor, Duncan, and then later died at the hands of Malcolm, Duncan s son. A key cultural
element of the play, however, is the motif of witchcraft in the play.
The beginning of the play, Act I Scene I, begins with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the three witches play an even more important role, one that contributes to the overall lesson
and theme of the play fate.
First Witch: All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Glamis!
Second Witch: All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor!
Third Witch: All hail Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter! (Act I Scene III, line 50 52)
The ending of the play proves how all of the three witches prophesies came true. Yet, would Macbeth
had made the choices he did if he had not heard the prophesy from the three witches? Or would the
Macbeth have the same ending if the three witches did not interact with him? In other words, would
the prophecy be true if the witches did not reveal it to Macbeth? If the answer is no, then Macbeth
would have the chance to change his fate. If the answer is yes, then the prophecy, in a way, was also
part of the bigger plan and was inevitable. However, the audience would never know the truth because
Shakespeare neither explain in the play nor intend to explain it. Fair is foul and foul is fair. In
conclusion, the play leaves out the greater and confusing questions for the audiences themselves to

Linear strategy agrees with Ansoff (1987) about focusing on future planning. Adaptive strategy
includes goal setting and planning and looks at how strategy can form in unpredictable environments.
Interpretive strategy uses frames as references that make 2 it possible for the stakeholders to
understand the organisation and its environment. (Andrews, 1980) In the article Mintzberg (1984, pp.
66) argues that companies are incorrectly planning strategy through rationale control, the analysis of
competitors and markets, and of companies strengths and weaknesses, and combining all of this
information to create their full blown strategies . Inkpen Choudhury (1995) believed that organisations
that relied on strict set routines and focused on consistency would then be unable to become
innovative and be able to experiment. Chandler (1977) believes strategy is about using the necessary
recourses so the organizations are able to carry out their long term goals and aims. Which relates to
Johnson (1987, pp. 4 5) who states, Strategic decisions occur at many levels of managerial activity and
will be concerned with the long term direction . Mintzberg (1984, pp. 69) suggests the notion strategy
is something that should happen way up there far removed from the details of running an organisation
on a daily basis and is one of the great fallacies of conventional strategic

The Ferocactus Latispinus
Assignment #2 The ferocactus latispinus, commonly known as the crow s claw cactus, is a barrel
cactus originated from Mexico. The cactus is in the phylum Tracheophyta and of the family
Cactaceae, with three recognized subspecies. It resides in the states of Aguascalientes, Guanajuato,
Jalisco, Querétaro, Zacatecas, Coahuila, Oaxaca, Hidalgo, San Luis Potosí, Puebla, and Mexico State.
The crow s claw grows in mountain elevations of ten thousand feet, and blooms between the months
of October and March. Goats are a great factor in dispersing viable seeds of the cactus. (IUCN) The
body of the crow s claw cactus is barrel like, and averages approximately ten to fifteen inches in
height. Fourteen to twenty three ribs and grey black areoles compose the body of the cactus, along
with four large central spines. The cactus blooms yellow or pink purple flowers in late autumn or the
early winter, and are 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. (Faucon) A distinctive difference between crow s
claw cactus and other plants is that cacti have stems which function as leaves. Because cacti do not
have leaves, stems contain main photosynthetic organs, areoles, and water storage tissues. In addition,
stems are coated with a cuticle, a waxy layer that prevents water loss. A possible hypothesis as to why
cacti, specifically the ferocactus latispinus, have stems rather than leaves relates to the climate in
which cacti grow; environments in which cacti grow in are relatively hot and dry, with little

How Alzheimer s Disease ( Ad ) And Associated Dementias
Contemporary Issues Formative Essay Introduction For the purpose of this essay I will be comparing
how Alzheimer s Disease (AD) and associated dementias are recognised in the United Kingdom (UK)
and responded to, when compared to Italy. I have chosen this subject as there are indications from
both countries that dementia sufferers will increase dramatically over the next twenty years. It is
estimated that there are 800,000 people in the UK with AD and dementia, this number is expected to
double by 2040. At present the cost to the economy is £23 billion, by 2040 the costs are likely to
treble(Gov.UK). REFERENCE NEEDED. In Italy there are approximately 1 million people living
with dementia. (Alzheimer s, 2016) It has been suggested by 2020, it is estimated that 584,000 new
cases of dementia will occur in the country (Choices, 2016). This this will inevitably put a high
demand not only on both National Health Services (NHS) in the UK and in Italy, but also on support
services within the care sector, such as carers, voluntary organisations and also families of AD and
dementia sufferers. This will also increase the workload on social workers as more assessment of need
will have to be carried out to maintain the levels of support needed to sustain an expected quality of
life. I will be addressing legislation and policy s adopted by both countries historically and modern
day. I will also be discussing diagnosis of AD and dementia, funding, ethical and cultural issues,
services

Winslow Homer Research Paper
Realism began to dominate art around the 19th century and peaked toward the middle of the century.
Realism desired precise depictions of the visual without any alteration. This change caused a dramatic
change in art and artist. Winslow Homer was born in 1836 and died in 1910 and was an american
realist. Homer was a self taught artist, whom lived with his family in Cambridge. Quickly, he started
off his career as a printmaker in Boston and afterwards in New York when Homer moved there. Soon
the Civil War broke loose and so it affected Homer s art. Diligently, throughout the war Homer
concentrated on painting. In 1865, Homer reaped the rewards of his work and was elected to the
National Academy of Design. In 1866 after the war, Homer traveled to France preferring the Vibrant
landscapes than his city life in New York although his remained unchanged. In 1872 Homer created a
masterpiece named Snap the Whip. It was the belief that the children were America s embodiments of
innocents and their future. The painting has vibrant colors with masterful precision. The painting

Recognizing his talent, Millet s family sent him away for Cherbourg to refine it. Tragically, his father

finally declare, I will never be made to bow. I will never have the art of the Parisian drawing rooms
forced upon me. A peasant I was born, a peasant I will die. And so Millet strived as himself said, to
make the trivial serve to express the sublime. In his painting The Sower, we watch as a simple farmer
sows his field but he also has certain dignity about him. Perfectly, we can look at Millet s paintings
and observe exactly what he meant by the trivial serve to express the

The Effects Of Climate Change On The State Of Colorado
It is undeniable that climate change is drastically changing our current landscapes throughout the
world. There are many individuals who consider climate change to be a natural and organic
progression, but many studies indicate that due to excess greenhouse gas emissions, humans are
accelerating global warming at an alarming rate. It s convenient to continuously dismiss the studies
and evidence that suggest climate change is real and it could have serious consequences, but when
these drastic changes are taking place in our own backyard, it becomes a harsh reality. There is
longstanding research, which indicates that the Colorado River has been in a drought since the early
2000 s and researchers allege that due to rising temperatures, the ... Show more content on

According to Dr. Denning, as the global climate changes, average temperatures will rise sharply.
Because Colorado is so far inland, this effect will be stronger because large bodies of water help
mitigate temperature swings and Colorado is far from our oceans or Great Lakes. Imagine the climate
of Albuquerque as far north as Greeley. Additionally, we must consider the agriculture industry is
estimated to be worth around forty one billion dollars in Colorado, which means climate change will
have a drastic impact on food production. Colorado s geographic location is problematic in itself, but
the continuous temperature changes means longer growing seasons. Ultimately, the rising
temperatures make plants consume more water and it reduces the annual snowpack, which creates a
conundrum of issues. Similarly, we can assume a warmer Colorado will also mean a much drier
Colorado, which will hurt agriculture on every level.
A report submitted to the Colorado Energy Office, titled The Colorado Climate Change Vulnerability
Study presents key vulnerabilities the state is faced with due to climate change. The report highlights
many areas, but it offers insight into negative effects from climate variability and how to adapt to
them. Since the agricultural sector plays such a critical role in Colorado s economy, its vulnerabilities
are detailed at length. The report splits

  • 2. Argumentative Essay Titled Stay Positive Stay Positive Even if things may seem bad, you should always stay positive. If you were in a horrible situation, what would you do? You should always be positive no matter what situation you are in. Like Anne Frank when she was in hiding and she had looked on the brighter side of their hiding place. Someone else who looked on the brighter side of things was Winston Churchill. While the Axis powers were taking over Europe Churchill kept Great Britain hopeful and calm. Anne Frank is well known for her diary which held the information of the events that she had gone through while in hiding with her family. She had died 1 week before the camps were liberated. Her diary holds the information of each day she was in hiding. Each day had a more serious feeling, but she kept a positive attitude. When her family was upset about the chiming of the western clock, but she had gotten used to it and had accepted it and even though in her words ¨It may be damp and lopsided, but there s probably not a more comfortable hiding place in all of Amsterdam. No, in all of Holland.¨ As we can see even though it is damp and lopsided Anne Frank looks at the brighter things. Winston Churchill also looked on the brighter side of things. He kept all of Great Britain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Elie had kept calm during the holocaust in Auschwitz. Examples of him staying calm is when he and his father were separated from his mother and his sister. This is a quote that shows how he stayed positive. ¨Confidence soared. Suddenly we felt free of the previous night s terrors. We gave thanks to God. . This quote shows an example of hope. Hope is a form of positivity, so with that, it shows Elie has had a positive attitude. He stayed positive and calm when he had a gold tooth taken away and then found out it was pointless when he was killed for his side business of selling the teeth. He had also kept calm when the bombs were dropped at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Duality Of Organized Religion The Duality of Organized Religion and Spirituality From the beginning of human existence, religion and spirituality have played immense, critical roles in the lives of people and the functionings of our society. In our world today, the conflict in religious forces combined with the conflict in spiritual forces depict both our confusion and our yearning to connect with divine forces and influence the people around us for good. Organized Religion and spirituality both provide their own unique, important influences and opportunities to individuals and our society. Each have their own set of benefits and detriments and analyzing these are growingly essential to our world because people choose to participate in one or the other or both and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From ancient Egypt, we find the first official records of religious practice. Egyptian religion was a large, polytheistic system complete with idols, statues and the pyramids. Religion in ancient Egypt dictated nearly everything anybody said, wore or did on a daily basis. Phoenicia, Palestine, Greece and Rome all followed with similar references to the divine and texts that portrayed themes of holiness and mythological practices.(Mark http://www.ancient.eu/religion/) The Hindu faith is perfect evidence of the resilience and strength of religion. Founded in India in 2,000 BCE, it is still one of the most widely accepted and has one of the largest populations in the world. (BBC No Author http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/hinduism/) Throughout history we have seen religion in many different forms such as mythology and these forms have often been manifest in governments and societies. This proves its resilience and vibrancy since the beginning of human existence and today in our modern culture. Mankind has both created and relied on religion from the very beginning and how those systems have stayed dependable and substantial in the forces of the worlds governmental and societal organizations. • 4. Sororities Vs Cults Essay Conditional Unconditional Love. Cults and Sororities. The collective congregation of others to meet or attain a certain goal is the same for all social creatures. Two predominant groups showcase this ideology quite well, these two being cults and sororities. Cults are a group of people who worship a figure or object to levels that could be called devotion, and sororities are a group of people who come together in a university or college for social purposes. These groups share many types of physiological tactics to cancel out personal autonomy and to promote unity and a sense of acceptance and belonging. While they have traits in common there are also clear differences in each established collection. A positive light is shined more on sororities due to their benefits to one s experience in college, while cults have a more negative connotation due to their extreme devotion and loss of one s personal power. Each in their own right gives a service that we re subconsciously susceptible to, the need and desire to belong. Although cults and sororities share many physiological strategies in removing self autonomy, they greatly vary in their impacts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You may argue that mountain men or some people enjoy being separate from group yet they still will get pets or attach themselves to a way of life others participate in so that they can identify themselves with it. Cults and sororities prey on that base need and use it to their advantage. The difference being on how they use that power can really differentiate which defining term they fall under for it s such a small gap separating the two. • 5. Domino Theory Research Paper he United States became involved with the Vietnam War to stop communism spreading throughout Asia. At first, the US only assisted France with military aid, but after a attack on US destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin, they became more involved in direct action. The US also got involved with Vietnam because they didn t want another country going to communism after what happened to China. Another factor was the pattern of what had happened in Korea. Northern communists pushed to put the whole country under communism, then America helps the local anticommunists to push them back. President Dwight D. Anthropologists have turned their research to primarily minuscule civilizations, observing participants, surveying and interviewing communities. During this, is it an absolute necessity to marinate an individual into their preferred society to accumulate a profound grasp about its people and practical details, which frankly cannot be achieved from literary works. Tommy and I crossed paths last week, while playing soccer at the recreational center. With the project lingering in my mind, I decided to approach him and assemble information. With limited material obtained, he was born in China, and his family moved to the United States when he was ten. In spite of his origins, what s intriguing is that he has been exposed to both the Western practice and his native. Making him an untarnished participant, candidly a best of both worlds. Obtaining access to his home is something that won t be a practical issue. His parents property however could be troublesome. The United States has imposed an embargo on Cuba to encourage the Cuban government to change the way they run themselves because the United States does not agree with the system of government they have in place. This embargo enacts total restrictions on trade and travel between the United States and Cuba. The United States embargo against Cuba should be lifted because it is doing more harm than good to both countries involved. To start, embargoes in the United States started with Jefferson s Embargo of 1807 ( The Embargo of 1807 ). Embargoes are put in place by countries in hopes to maintain or restore peace between countries ( Sanctions, Embargoes and Restrictions ). They can be enacted for a number of different reasons including moral, political, or environmental objections or concerns (Berkheimer). Certain foods all around us can change people individually or as a group, the ability to express ourselves with food is endless. Some people may love the food for flavor , some may love to take pictures of the food and some people may just eat it because of their religion. Holden v Hardy was a major case during McKinley s time that dealt with the labor movement, but in a specific arena. This case upheld a law limiting the work day of a group of miners in Utah, because it was proven that the conditions they were working under were dangerous. Although, it was only one victory, a victory it was for the labor movement. In 1898, Williams v Mississippi, upheld the Mississippi plan, which set a literacy test and poll taxes for Mississippi voters. Though this plan essentially excluded many Blacks and poor whites, since it applied to everyone, it was found constitutional and allowed to continue. XII. President McKinley dealt with several important foreign policy issues during his term. One of the biggest was the Spanish American War in 1898. This war initially started when McKinley sent ships and soldiers to have Cubans in their revolt against a tyrannical Spanish Government. After an American ship was sunk in the conflict, many Americans called for war against Spain, and McKinley obliged. This role will help me increase my emotional intelligence and mindfulness of different people, making me a strong ally and resource for a diverse group of people. 2) My volunteer work has positioned me as an active listener and educator. One solution that the student and I both developed was to tutor them one on one after school while also giving them snacks in the school library. We ironed out the details with the school librarian. That way, the student would receive their math help while waiting for their parent in a dry, comfortable space. This was a small, but crucial step that they formulated with my guidance, and I think that they developed some independence in meeting their needs while also consulting with someone that they trust. This is the type of independence that I think an HIV peer test counselor must give their clients/peers. While you should educate, you must also give students room to voice their concerns so that they can address them happily. He ordered me to find someplace in the Everglades to drill oil because there was a newspaper saying that the government had bought the drilling rights for oil. My boss s plan was to find oil in the everglades and then the government would pay us a lot of money not to pump it. After a few months, I had gotten a six hundred forty acre lease from someone named Vincent Trapwick Jr. It was known as Section 21 and I had hired some geologists to see if there was any oil in there. Even though I had gotten that taken care of, I still had a few more problems popping up everywhere. A few months later, some of my pipes went missing so I got very angry. Even worse, Melton had been assaulted again and the flags that marked where the pipes would be had been rearranged to spell the word SCAT. Drake and I were getting very very annoyed. We decided to hire someone or get something to track whoever was doing this to us. We were in luck. We found a dog handler who had a dog named Horace who was a trained manhunter. Horace sniffed the flags and looked like he was on a trail. He ran away from us and the handler shouted his name. We reported the bad news to Drake ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pravda, the Soviet government newspaper, made these comments after Joseph Stalin attended a 1936 performance of Dmitri Shostakovich s opera. His second and final opera, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, got it him into all sorts of trouble because it denounced sexism in Russia. After this intense criticism from the government and threats of arrest, Shostakovich was forced to withdraw the premiere of his equally controversial Fourth Symphony. • 14. The Resurrection Of God s Glory Following the fall, mankind and the rest of creation are in an unnatural state of disorder, and mankind specifically is condemned to the reign of death and separation from God. However, through the Incarnation, Jesus Christ becomes human and begins to restore mankind to an elevated state, allowing for mankind and all of creation to serve as a full manifestation of God s glory. As beings created in the image and likeness of God, mankind is born into relation and unity as exemplified by the Holy Trinity. Mankind is not a strictly necessary being, but rather a being God chose to create so as to share His goodness and love, making mankind a true manifestation of God s glory. St. Bonaventure explains that God created all things not to increase His glory, but to show it forth and to communicate it. However, following the original sin, mankind enters a fallen state characterized by death and a separation from God. In this sinful state, mankind is no longer living as our fullest selves and is failing to exemplify God s true glory. Mankind still remains in this fallen state when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, joins Himself to creation and enters into humanity through the power of the Holy Spirit. Origen remarks on the grandeur of God becoming Incarnate saying, But of all the marvelous and splendid things about [God], there is one that utterly transcends the limits of human wonder and is beyond the capacity of our weak mortal intelligence to think of or understand, namely, ... Families, couples, and individuals come to take part in the temperate weather and beautiful beaches. However, Hawaii now is nothing like it use to be the real history behind this popular chain of islands is rarely told to visitors. Back in early Hawaiian times, Hawaii was self sufficient, independent, and gorgeous all around. The number of Native Hawaiians flourished, and everyone helped contribute to the community. All that changed, however, when outsiders began to settle here in Hawaii. Although the different outside influences may have brought some positivity to Hawaii, the negative side of their arrival overwhelmingly defeats it. Upon his expedition on January 18, 1778, English explorer Captain Cook was the first European to discover the Hawaiian Islands. While commanding the Resolution and Discovery to explore the Northwest Passage, Cook and his crew stumbled upon O ahu and Kaua i. Native Hawaiians did not perceive these British sailors as a threat, and in fact Greeted [Captain Cook] as a sacred high chief or god ( Captain Cook para 1). However, they were not fully aware of the effects of his arrival. Where ‘directing refers to the selection of a particular behaviour; and ‘maintenance refers to the inclination to behave with consistency in that manner until the desired outcome is met. Motivation is therefore the force that transforms and uplifts people to be productive and perform in their jobs. Therefore extrinsically motivated behaviours are those carried out to achieve some tangible rewards or compensation. Once again my employers excelled in designing an ideal incentive system, in their effort towards employee motivation. They already offered very competitive wages, of course on the belief that the more positive the reward the more likely the employee will be highly motivated and the better the performance (Vroom, 1964). They later introduced a perpetual cash bonus scheme for the junior staff, where every year instead of bonuses being paid out, they would be retained in the company s employee fund. A bonus was typically a third of their net salary and with every completed year of service their bonuses would grow. However if the employees engaged in activities detrimental to the organisations operations, such as pilfering, they would thus loose their accumulated bonus. This proved very effective in not only retaining employees but also motivating them to work towards and within the organisational parameters at maximum productivity. It also encouraged a sense of belonging and loyalty to the organisation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In addition, longitudinal data was conducted as the intervention delivery was carried out over a various amount of years. The authors did not over interpret data discussion. They highlighted the developmental support systems theory that by aligning the child, family, school, and community assets are critical for promoting positive development. The theory was compared to the current study intervention linking a positive correlational data to academic performance, and ELL and English proficiency first generation learners. The study did have internal validity but rules out potential sources of bias; noted as a limitation. The authors addressed other limitations; such as there was no potential sources between group variations (family migration, extent of language isolation, etc.), the inability to precisely measure achievement gains (intervention need for scientific steps to better guide the support to the barriers of learning), the inability to determine how many years is enough support and whether the intervention might produce diminishing effects on achievement once support is withdrawn. This study supports a school practice model and advances the topic for the development of support plans for all socially disadvantaged students by attending to each child s developmental strengths and needs; supporting cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth; and aligning resources for families, schools, and communities in a culturally competent approach. Because when he wants to rise power, one of the most common ways is propaganda. He said that Jews are the ones that ruined their country. Many Jews were killed; they were also different kinds of people: just like Jehovah s Witnesses, Roma Gypsies, Handicapped and many others. While the soldiers were fighting at the front line, hundreds of thousands of disabled were killed. Why were the handicapped killed, what s wrong with them? Current understanding is that the 6 to 7 million cones can be divided into red cones (64%), green cones (32%), and blue cones (2%) based on measured response curves (HyperPhysics). When one type of cone continuously sends the same signal to the brain, the cones hastily become exhausted. Once one of the three types of cone becomes exhausted, the cone ceases to transmit signals to the brain. Which causes the brain to assume the cones are tired and holds onto the image. However, once the top sheet of paper is removed all that is shown is a white sheet of paper and white contains all light energy. Since the red type cones are nonfunctioning, only the green and blue type cones receive the wavelengths. This causes the brain to assume the signals it s receiving are a blue green colour instead of an equal parts red blue green combination, which would form white. This experiment hopes to show how the human eye detects multiple wavelengths of light, and how the cones interact the brain. Moreover, the experiment desires to display, not only, how the cones work individually, but to show how the cones work in unison with each other to produce the colors man sees. The experiment also hopes to demonstrate the immense complexity contained within the human eye. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What Is The Theme Of Witchcraft In Macbeth Lights, Music, and Magic Macbeth, English playwright William Shakespeare s shortest known play, contains many historical and cultural allusions to Shakespeare s time. For instance, Shakespeare wrote the play in tribute of King James I a Scottish king who later ascended the English throne and whose family, Sturats, first came to the Scottish throne in the eleventh century. Shakespeare used Macbeth to revisit the history of Scotland when James ancestors became rulers: Historically, Macbeth was a Scottish king who killed his predecessor, Duncan, and then later died at the hands of Malcolm, Duncan s son. Yet, would Macbeth had made the choices he did if he had not heard the prophesy from the three witches? Or would the Macbeth have the same ending if the three witches did not interact with him? The cactus is in the phylum Tracheophyta and of the family Cactaceae, with three recognized subspecies. It resides in the states of Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Querétaro, Zacatecas, Coahuila, Oaxaca, Hidalgo, San Luis Potosí, Puebla, and Mexico State. The crow s claw grows in mountain elevations of ten thousand feet, and blooms between the months of October and March. Goats are a great factor in dispersing viable seeds of the cactus. (IUCN) The body of the crow s claw cactus is barrel like, and averages approximately ten to fifteen inches in height. Fourteen to twenty three ribs and grey black areoles compose the body of the cactus, along with four large central spines. The cactus blooms yellow or pink purple flowers in late autumn or the early winter, and are 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. (Faucon) A distinctive difference between crow s claw cactus and other plants is that cacti have stems which function as leaves. Because cacti do not have leaves, stems contain main photosynthetic organs, areoles, and water storage tissues. In addition, stems are coated with a cuticle, a waxy layer that prevents water loss. How Alzheimer s Disease ( Ad ) And Associated Dementias Contemporary Issues Formative Essay Introduction For the purpose of this essay I will be comparing how Alzheimer s Disease (AD) and associated dementias are recognised in the United Kingdom (UK) and responded to, when compared to Italy. I have chosen this subject as there are indications from both countries that dementia sufferers will increase dramatically over the next twenty years. It is estimated that there are 800,000 people in the UK with AD and dementia, this number is expected to double by 2040. At present the cost to the economy is £23 billion, by 2040 the costs are likely to treble(Gov.UK). REFERENCE NEEDED. In Italy there are approximately 1 million people living with dementia. (Alzheimer s, 2016) It has been suggested by 2020, it is estimated that 584,000 new cases of dementia will occur in the country (Choices, 2016). This this will inevitably put a high demand not only on both National Health Services (NHS) in the UK and in Italy, but also on support services within the care sector, such as carers, voluntary organisations and also families of AD and dementia sufferers. This will also increase the workload on social workers as more assessment of need will have to be carried out to maintain the levels of support needed to sustain an expected quality of life. Additionally, we must consider the agriculture industry is estimated to be worth around forty one billion dollars in Colorado, which means climate change will have a drastic impact on food production. Colorado s geographic location is problematic in itself, but the continuous temperature changes means longer growing seasons. Ultimately, the rising temperatures make plants consume more water and it reduces the annual snowpack, which creates a conundrum of issues. Similarly, we can assume a warmer Colorado will also mean a much drier Colorado, which will hurt agriculture on every level. A report submitted to the Colorado Energy Office, titled The Colorado Climate Change Vulnerability Study presents key vulnerabilities the state is faced with due to climate change. The report highlights many areas, but it offers insight into negative effects from climate variability and how to adapt to them. Since the agricultural sector plays such a critical role in Colorado s economy, its vulnerabilities are detailed at length. The report splits ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
