Ted Kennedy A Political Analysis
A Democrat from Massachusetts of Kennedy family fame, Senator Edward Ted Kennedy spoke before
the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies on September 27th, 2002. Just a year
earlier on September 11th, 2001, terrorists attacked the American homeland, arousing politicians and
the American public alike to eliminate the threat posed by terror. While Iraq had little to do with 9/11,
President George W. Bush capitalized on the spirit of 9/11 and made it a personal mission to go after
Saddam Hussein, the illiberal Iraqi dictator that Bush accused of harboring nuclear weapons. Kennedy
s speech in September of 2002 came right as Bush began looking to take preemptive action against
Iraq. Kennedy thus used this opportunity to come out against the war Bush was looking to wage. Iraq
had become the biggest talking point in American politics, and Kennedy, one of the most influential
Democrats at the time, was one of the few members of Congress to take such a decisive stance.
Despite representing the relative minority of those in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Democratic leadership wanted to keep the focus of the upcoming elections on domestic issues like
the economy, issues that they felt would help rally Democratic votes, and away from war. With the
major concern of voters being war with Iraq, however, Democrats like Kennedy were weary that the
issue of war would not be debated as much as it needed to be debated. More hawkish stances on war,
both in the Republican and Democratic parties, seemed to be dominating the sphere, and Kennedy s
speech was an attempt at giving voice to the relative minority in the Democratic party who did not

Oliver Twist By Charles Dickens
Charles Dickens, the author of Oliver Twist. Charles Dickens was born on February 7th, 1812 in
Landport, England, and then died on June 9th, 1870 in Kent, England. In his 58 years of life he made a
collection of books that are still famous today; although it was not until 1836 that he started to come to
fame when he published The Pickwick Papers. One of the many books he published was Oliver Twist
and this story was one that he related too, because like this story Dickens had little education as a
child and had to work as a child after his father was thrown into prison; however like the story goes he
did not give up and made the most out of the life that he had ( Life of Charles Dickens ). The book
Oliver Twist is a story about a young boy named Oliver Twist. Oliver is an orphan that everyone sees
as a nuisance that is too naive to ever be more than just a hungry little boy. Unfortunately Oliver was
abused from everyone that was older or in a higher ranking position than him, however, this was not
uncommon almost every poor person was abused by the middle class or anyone that had more than an
empty stomach to their name. Just like the different types of classes that are present today in this book,
they had the same four classes then the upper class, middle class, working class, and the lower class;
and each one of these classes influenced the world differently. An example of the upper class in Oliver
Twist is The Board Watch, a group of old gentleman, that give

Racial Stereotypes And Its Negative Effects On Our Society
Humanity as a whole cannot help but judge one another. A stereotype is a fixed belief about someone s
religion, gender, or social group. Stereotypes can have positive and negative affects on our society.
Often times, people use stereotypes to belittle a group of people. An example of a racial stereotype
would include all Hispanics being illegal immigrants. Racial stereotypes always favor the race of the
holder and put down other races. People use racial stereotypes because it is human nature to recognize
patterns. When seeing these patterns within a specific race people often tend to immediately associate
him or herself within that society. From a positive point of view stereotypes can give confidence and
favor them above a certain group or class of people. Stereotypes such as Asians have high IQs can
make them have confidence in themselves. often times it is hard to live up to a positive stereotype.
Although we think positive stereotyping is a good thing it really is not. Most positive stereotyping sets
the bar unrealistically high and only leaves room for failure. Another example of a positive stereotype
with a negative affect is All black people are good at sports. If a particular African American is not
good at sports then they will feel less than adequate. Positive stereotypes can be depressing to
individuals who are supposed to posses them but fall short. Referring to the article listed as Reality TV

Balloon Sinusitis
Millions of people take medications each day to manage the irritation and inflammation of sinuses, but
undergoing balloon sinus surgery offers a permanent and effective solution. Before treatment, it is
important to understand your condition fully. With this guide, you will understand chronic sinusitis
and learn how surgery can decrease your discomfort to improve your quality of life.
Understanding Chronic Sinusitis
Living with chronic sinusitis can be incredibly painful, since it causes your nasal passages to be
inflamed, swollen, and irritated for 12 or more weeks. The swelling can be so severe, it can cause
redness and discomfort around your eyes, as well.
While uncomfortable, chronic sinusitis also prevents you from breathing properly ... Show more

In most cases, treatment will begin nasal corticosteroids. These nasal sprays reduce irritation, easing
swelling and preventing further discomfort. Nasal irrigation is also effective for alleviating pain and
promoting proper drainage. Irrigating your nasal passages with a saline solution can greatly decrease
your congestion.
Medications are usually successful short term solutions, but treating your chronic sinusitis may require
a more permanent solution. Thankfully, balloon sinus surgery is effective for chronic inflammation of
the sinuses.
During the procedure, the inflamed sinuses are opened up using a balloon to dilate the nasal passage.
Once dilated, a saline solution is sprayed deep into the nasal passage to flush out stubborn mucus. The
sinuses remain open after the procedure, reducing your risk of inflammation in the future.
Medications may be effective for fast relief, but they do not treat your sinusitis long term. Also, most
medications for sinus inflammation have other side effects including drowsiness and nausea. The
balloon surgery is capable of healing chronic sinusitis without side effects or invasive

African Anthropology Research Paper
This paper is just the latest to come from Professor Henshilwood and others research on African
archaeology that has debunked the idea that modern human behavior originated in Europe after about
40,000 years ago.
There is increasing evidence for an African origin for behavioral and technological modernity more
than 70,000 years ago and that the earliest origin of all Homo sapiens lies in Africa with a special
focus in southern Africa.
Last month MailOnline reported a new study by U.S. researchers which suggested the development of

Jainism And Religion Essay
The Verdas, a collection of ancient Indian religious scripts, formed the basis for Brahmanism. With
heavy emphasis on the caste system, the religion dominated
Indian culture for several hundred years but eventually became the platform from which Jainism,
Buddhism, and Hinduism sprang. Initially, the local Aryan and
Dravidian societies worshipped gods whose presence manifested itself in physical phenomena such as
lightning and fire. As a result, members of early Indian civilizations found spiritualism in external
events. The Upanishads however, recorded between 750 B.C.E. and 500 B.C.E., introduced
fundamental concepts that suggested humans, not gods, are ultimately responsible for what happens to
them in the afterlife. Samsara, the belief ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are widespread and still hold significance across the world.
In order to compete with the influx of Jainism and Buddhism, Brahmanism was forced to evolve.
Hinduism, much more reflective of orthodox Brahmanism than the teachings of Mahavira or Buddha,
revolved around the moral law dharma. Perhaps the most unique feature, however, is the polytheistic
approach that promotes the worship of personal gods, which provided an appealing versatility.
Hinduism evolved with the
Bhagavad Gita, a manifesto for how adherence to dharma could be balanced with the pleasures of life,
contrary to the asceticism of competing religions. Additionally, dharma brought optimism to the
working class by offering the promise of serenity in the afterlife, though it ultimately subdued them
and perpetuated the caste system found in ancient
India. Hinduism remains the most dominant religion in the region.

The Italian Renaissance Essay
The Italian Renaissance
The Italian Renaissance was one of the most colorful, vital, and exciting times in history. Renaissance
eventually comes from the French word Renaistre, meaning to be born again. The Renaissance was a
revival or a rebirth of cultural awareness and learning among art, law, language, literature, philosophy,
science, and mathematics. This period took place between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries. The
Renaissance in Italy flourished in the 15th century and spread throughout most of Europe in the 16th
century. What was the Renaissance and why did it happen? Italian life in the 14th and 15th centuries
was lived among the vast ruins of the ancient Roman Empire. The cruelty and barbarism of Rome ...

Painters were not interested in making a picture realistic they did not use perspective. The more
important figures in the painting were frequently made larger than all the others, and often the element
of landscape was omitted completely. Members of the Holy Family for example, would be painted
against a background of shining gold, which signified the heavens. During the Renaissance, all that
changed. The period was characterized by a renewed interest in ancient Greek and Roman design and
included an emphasis on human beings and the environment. The secularism and humanism of the
Renaissance were reflected in its scholarship and education. Its concern was with this world rather
than the hereafter, and its focus was on pagan classics rather than Christian theology. The father Of
Renaissance literature, Petrarch, stressed that the new boarding schools were not to train priests but
the sons of merchants. The humanist movement was further stimulated by the influence of Byzantine
scholars who came to Italy after the fall of Constantinople (present day Istanbul) to the Turks in 1453
and also by the establishment of the Platonic Academy in Florence. The academy, whose leading
thinker was Marsillo Ficino, was founded by the 15th century Florentine statesman and patron of

The Importance Of Chinese Culture
The country I would like to teach in would be in China, specifically Shenzhen. Chinese culture is vast
and unique and has been changed through many factors throughout history. Mainland China is a
beautiful place right next to to the equally beautiful Hong Kong. Shenzhen itself has been influenced
by western culture just like Hong Kong has, but with its roots in the mainland, it still maintains its
policies and traditions. It s culture can be considered a hybrid of both Mainland and Hong Kong China
due to proximity.
In China, there s the culture you see on the surface and the culture you see below the surface. There
are many real world lifestyle differences that can be perceived and even more that must be
experienced. When moving to China, you will first encounter surface level cultural differences, some
of which being population density and dress expectations. Population in China is vastly different and
much denser than the U.S. or most places in the world for that matter. China has over 160 cities with a
population of over 1 million as stated by the University of Missouri, Kansas City. In China, dressing is
much different as well, clothing styles that would be considered the norm in America can be
considered taboo in China. In the U.S. showing some skin is perfectly acceptable due to the general
agreement body confidence is good. But if you wear something revealing (e.g. a crop top), it comes

Oedipus Rex
One of the most memorable and meaningful Socratic quotes applies well when in context of
Sophocles Theban Trilogy. The unexamined life is not worth living, proclaims Socrates. He could
have meant many things by this statement, and in relation to the play, the meaning is found to be even
more complex. Indeed, the situation of Oedipus, king of Thebes, the truth of this statement is in
question. Would Oedipus have been better off if he was blind to the knowledge of his birthing and the
fate which was foretold to someday befall him? Truly though, his life would have been a far better and
easier path had he never known about his true origins. His life in Corinth would have been long and
prosperous, and Thebes would have lived on under King ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The question arises, what would life have been like, if Oedipus had not discovered his true origins? If
he had stayed in Corinth, would this have ever happened? We find that indeed, we would have had no
story, if not for that lone comment of a drunkard which sparked the fire of rebellion in the young
prince Oedipus. He ventured out to Delphi, to pry knowledge of his background out of it, and to
discover if this was indeed the truth, despite the fact that his adopted parents of Corinth had assured
him of it falseness. Oedipus leaves Corinth, fulfilling the Socratic idea of the unexamined life.
However, we must evaluate the eventual consequences of his actions and the implications which they
possess. What becomes of his fateful journey out of Corinth leads to the downfall of an entire city and
family line. If he had not murdered King Laius, the Sphinx would have never descended upon Thebes,
he would have never fulfilled the prophecy, and all would have lived on in a relative peace and
tranquillity. Once examining these aspects of the relationship between the quote and Oedipus Rex, we
can come to a final examination of its implications. The question which was addressed, that of the
value of the examined life, can be answered. Indeed, if Oedipus had not ventured beyond the
protective walls of his adopted home, would anything such as what occurred in the play ever have
transpired? If Oedipus had not pursued that answers to the mysteries that

Interval Training Research Paper
How to Begin Interval Training When You Are Currently Sedentary
The benefits of a good interval training program are widely supported these days, in research and in
everyday life. Stronger muscles, a more efficient cardiovascular system, and a leaner, more toned
physique are just some of the results that have propelled interval training into style, even above
traditional steady state cardio sessions. Part of the reason this method of exercise works so well is that
it forces your body to adapt to much harsher stimuli than traditional exercise does by pushing you into
an anaerobic state. There is no doubt that brief, intense bouts of anaerobic training are enormously
beneficial to the seasoned exerciser, but to a beginner, they can be painful ... Show more content on

In general, a training program for complete beginners can have anywhere from five to ten intervals of
work separated by intervals of rest and recovery. The number of intervals can then be increased
depending on levels of fitness. You can perform almost any exercise of your choice in an interval
format, but cardio exercises like running, biking, and swimming are the most simple for complete
beginners to learn safely.
While you can vary the length and number of work intervals to match your goals, rest intervals when
you are first starting out from a sedentary lifestyle should be kept long enough so you feel recovered
and rested before starting the next work interval. This rule of thumb will help keep you from injuring
yourself before you become accustomed to what your body can handle.
Long, slow intervals of around two minutes or more are best if your goal is to eventually be able to
maintain a steady cardio pace without needing to take breaks. For example, if you want to train to jog
a 5k race, it would be worthwhile to do two to four long interval sessions per week to build up your
cardio capacity. Additionally, if it has been a long time since you have exercised regularly, longer,
slower intervals can help you get back into the game and get back to a basic level of fitness. Stick to
this interval length until you feel comfortable taking the next step into harder, faster

Compare And Contrast The Killers And The Darling
Different Cutlers
The Killers and The Darling are the two stories I decided to compare and contrast to the contemporary
Kurdistan because they implicitly and explicitly reveal so much about the culture, existed in both US
and Russia during late 19th century and early 20th century. The killers was written by Ernest
Hemingway and takes place in US during the 1920s, during Prohibition. The story starts when two
strike men, who do not behave properly, walk into a lunch room after several dialogues between
characters; it becomes clear that the two men are there to kill someone. Even though the target is
warned after several scenes, he does not react; accept for telling the one who warned him not to do

proves that 19th century Russian were not so concerned with art and literature, and the reason for this
is because people at that time were not educated. Thus, they could not understand plays and enjoy
them. This is similar and different to present Kurdistan at the same time. In Kurdistan people seldom
go to watch a play because some Kurds think that plays are only for some intellectual people who can
understand what is going on in the play. Another reason is because children from the first levels of
school are not taught to love art and literature. And luck of having good theaters and artists is another
reason. Therefore, In both 19th century Russian and contemporary Kurdistan there is some kinds of
ignorance towards art and literature for different reasons as mentioned above.
In conclusion, there were many cultural differences and similarities between the two worlds of these to
stories and present Kurdistan. Nevertheless, in this essay I compared the most important cultural

The Identity of the Satyricon s Author
An issue which has been debated by scholars for centuries, the identity of the Satyricon s author can
be seen to be resolved through Tacitus obituary of one Petronius, an adviser to the Emperor Nero on
taste and luxury. Petronius, according to various sources, was celebrated at Rome for his refined taste
which attracted the attention of the Emperor Nero; however his high position in Roman elite society
was eventually taken away because of Tigellinus conspiracies and machinations. The Satyricon itself
contains many references to contemporary figures and events that allow us to date the text to the time
when Nero was Emperor, and the content and tone of the novel suggest to the reader that Petronius is
the ideal author of this vast, impressive work, of which we only have fragments. It is especially
important to note the economic, social and political background of the text and the many intertextual
allusions in the novel. Tacitus obituary of Petronius offers details that correspond to the Satyricon in a
persuasive and convincing manner. This essay will examine the evidence that supports the theory that
Tacitus Petronius wrote the Satyricon, in addition to some of the arguments to the contrary.
It is important to consider any other external references made to the text and to Petronius by Roman
authors, and the credibility of these sources. Petronius is referred to as elegantiae arbiter (judge of

The Pros And Cons Of LASPO Reform
LASPO Revisited: The Rehabilitation Revolution Fallacy
Contrary to popular belief, LASPO was not an altruistic act by the government, it was opportunism
necessitated by two incidents. The first and more compelling need for ROA reform followed a Court
of Appeal ruling in December 2013, in which a blanket release of old and minor conviction recordable
information to employers was criticised as being against article eight of the Human Rights Act.
The second reason was a study by the Department for Work and Pensions and the Ministry of Justice
in 2011 that found one third of the unemployed had a criminal record.

I m a bit too long in the tooth to be fooled for another four decades and saw what was going to happen

I had my doubts. The inquiry and various forums and charities influenced nothing absolutely zero.

In my opinion, Cameron was at one time sincere about changes, but the public and political backlash
put paid to that. In that respect, the government will only ever do what the public perception wants it
to do. Discrimination laws, equality, racism laws . . . The government can change things if it really

Summary Of The Causation Of Vietnam War
A Summary of the Causation of the Vietnam War
Traditionally war serves as an instrument for peace with a defined winner and loser. This was not the
case in the Vietnam War. As the longest war in U.S history, it spanned nearly 20 years encompassing 5
different presidential terms. The war in Vietnam served as a limited proxy war between the United
States and Soviet Union fought to combat the spread of communism, to preserve a democratic state in
Southeast Asia, and to limit the power of the Soviet Union. Due to the complexity of the Vietnam war
itself one cannot categorize the war in terms of winning or losing , rather one must look at the
political, ideological, and historical causations of the war
In the aftermath of WWII most European countries fell under the influence of the communist Soviet
Union. At the time the Soviet Union was rapidly spreading it ideals of Marxist equality throughout
eastern Europe (History.com). Fearful that the grasp of communism would spread rapidly outside of
Europe, the United States shifted its attention to the Korean Peninsula where the soviet backed North
Korean government threated war against the South. Realizing that communism was not a primary

potential markets. By having production units spread across the globe, the company is reducing the
distribution and sales cost. Second, the company is promoting its brand to overcome the commodity
trend of meat and achieve number one position in branded meat protein market. An analysis of Tyson

Louis Sullivan Thought Summary
In the essay Thought by Louis H. Sullivan, he mainly discusses how words can come in middle of the
thoughts. He said that we just utilize words to correspond to other people. The rest of the time we
simply think and we don t use words. Sullivan says words are just thoughts and we can use creative
thinking instead of words to express our thoughts. His main point that he makes in the essay is that
thought and thinking is more valuable than words. He gave some very diverse examples in his essay
about metaphors of why words don t make difference. Also, he pointed out that people should not read
because when they read they try to copy others thoughts and ideas. They are many different types of
thoughts and thinking in our mind and they are stronger than words. The thing that made me pause
when is when Sullivan said that real thinking is done without words, words are clumsy and nobody
has time to connect words together. Sullivan said that thinking can be done with images, pictures, and
feelings, but wouldn t people need to express their thoughts of images through words? ... Show more

1. Who should be held accountable for the factory that killed hundreds of people in Bangladesh? Is it
sufficient to arrest the building owner, or should the companies that buy from the factories face
consequences as well?
The stakeholders who should be accountable for the factory fire are the Western retailers that source
from the factory, Bangladesh Government and the factory building owner who leased or rented the
building. The companies that buy the goods from the factories should also be held accountable for
reasons such as:
Exploiting the cheap labor to earn high profits

safety, what happens to the people who work in those factories? Consider your response using a
utilitarianism perspective.
I don t think boycotting garments made in Bangladesh will solve the problem. A boycott of garments
from Bangladesh would increase unemployment, considering the dependency of the country, and its
people in garment manufacturing industry. This could result in an increase in the poverty level of the
country. Bearing in mind all the stakeholders, it may be advisable to increase the safety, hygienic and
compliance standards of these factories avoid disasters like the fire accident.

The day started as another usual on Forward Operating Base (FOB) Zangabad. I had woken up to
ensure that my men had all of their sensitive items on them and report to my Squad Leader that they
did. On that day we were heading out to T.I. 2, a desolate array of Hesco barriers set up as an Afghan
Uniformed Police (AUP) Checkpoint. It was our Company s responsibility to partner with the AUP
down there to help protect T.I. 2 so that they can conduct their own patrols. It was located roughly a
thousand meters south of Fob Zangabad, and about five hundred meters east of the town of Gerandi.
Gerandi was the stronghold of the Taliban in that area, so T.I. 2 was key to disrupting their operations

The Battle of Prairie Grove was on 1862, northwestern Arkansas and southwestern Missouri. The
Union when a force called for General James G.Blunt holds off a force of Confederates under General
Thomas Hindman. Hindman joined in force at Fort Smith, Arkansas, to make an attempt to recapture
territory lost during the Pea Ridge campaign of early 1862. When Hindman sent an advance
detachment of cavalry under John Marmaduke in a minor engagement at Cane Hill. After Cane Hill,
Hindman marched his 11,000 man army across the Boston Mountains and Approached Blunt s 5,000

The two armies lost about 2,700 soldiers who were wounded, killed, or missing in action. The battle
was a tactical draw, but a strategic Union victory as the Federals would maintain control of Missouri
and northwest Arkansas for the remainder of the war. Unfortunately, there would be plenty of guerrilla
warfare in the region with bushwhackers (Southern supporters) and jayhawkers (Union supporters)
destroying the countryside and forcing many families to become refugees from the conflict. It would
take many years for the people to recover from the effects of the Civil War. Nearly a month after
initiating their campaign against Confederates in southwest Missouri, Gen. Samuel R. Curtis Union
Army of the Southwest had pushed into Arkansas and established a defensive position on the bluffs
overlooking Little Sugar Creek. At the same time, Gen. Earl Van Dorn was appointed to take
command of Confederate forces in the trans Mississippi with the objective of destroying Curtis and his
12,000 Federals. Rather than attack Curtis fortifications, Van Dorn proposed to march around the
Union right flank, near Pea Ridge. In the course of the maneuver, however, the Southern forces were
divided. Van Dorn s two wings, under generals Benjamin McCullough and Sterling Price, were
separated by Pea Ridge, and subsequently compelled to fight two distinct actions, with neither wing

Experiment 4 Colligative Properties

TA: Grace He
October 9, 2017
INTRODUCTION Solutions are formed by mixing a solute in a solvent. A unique characteristic of
solutions is that they have colligative properties, which can be defined as properties that solely depend
on the solute s concentration of molecules, not the identity of the solute. Colligative properties include
reducing the vapor pressure, elevating the boiling point, depressing the freezing point, and osmotic
pressure.1 In this particular experiment, the colligative property freezing point depression will be
focused on. Freezing point depression was discovered by a French chemist named Francois Marie
Raoult. Raoult found that adding a solute to a solvent resulted in an overall decrease in the freezing
point temperature of the solvent.2 Calculations involved in this experiment include two basic
equations. One equation will calculate molality, and the other will calculate the change in freezing
point temperature using the freezing point depression constant, the solution s molality, and the van t
Hoff factor. The van t Hoff factor is determined by finding the number of ions that a compound will
dissociate into. In this experiment, freezing point depression will be utilized to determine the
molecular weights and identities of two unknown compounds. EXPERIMENTAL In Part A of the
experiment, the freezing point depression of deionized water, the solvent, was monitored and
analyzed. First, a cold bath was prepared by filling a beaker full of ice, and adding around 20 g of rock
salt and 20 mL of water until the temperature was between 10C and 15C. The LabQuest and
corresponding temperature probe was then prepared. 20 mL of deionized water was added to a glass
vial, and the temperature probe was then added to the vial. The vial was lowered and submerged into
the ice bath while the LabQuest collected temperature readings. The vial was removed from the ice
bath once the readings stabilized after around twenty minutes. Part B involved monitoring and
analyzing the freezing point depression of an unknown ionic solid, the identity of the solid being
either NaCl or KI. Unknown #1 was

This chapter is discussing the point of view that information has two different phases

Both of the phases are important to each other.

The Origins Of Sandwich Panels
2. Background and literature review Many books and articles provide systematic information about a
range of aspects of sandwich panels. Some studies has addressed creep behavior for one or two
typically used sandwich panels in construction industry. This part of the thesis will provided
background knowledge of sandwich panels, as well as developed equations based on different theories
about creep behavior of sandwich panels. Other specific aspects about creep in sandwich panels will
also be included, such as temperature influence in creep behavior. 2.1 Origins and development The
origins of sandwich construction can be found in many book which introduce these type of structure.
Although Noor, Burton, and Bert (1849, cited in Vinson 1999) state the basic concept of sandwich
construction in 19th century, the sandwich construction is relatively new concept and firstly be used in
aerospace industry (Davies 2001). The development of technology in sandwich construction is driven
by special demand of the shell of spacecraft or aircraft, which is light in weight yet strong enough to
sustain huge air pressure in acceleration or landing. A perfect example of this application is Apollo
space ship, which successful landed on the moon on 20 July 1969.The wall construction of Apollo
capsule was made by two interconnected sandwich shells, and each of them has a honeycomb core.

Hulu s captions were pretty good though. I liked how Hulu used periods and dashes for each new
person talking. I found that YouTube did not use periods, so it felt sometimes like a long run on
sentence. If there were multiple people talking on the YouTube videos it was hard to tell who was
talking in the captions. There would be no indicator of who was saying what. The last T.V. show I
decided to watch was something completely new. I decided to watch The Golden Girls. I had never
seen an episode before so I didn t know what the style of the T.V. show would be like, and I didn t
know the characters so I couldn t imagine their voice saying the words like I kind of could with the
other videos/T.V. shows. I noticed that when the show was about half way over I couldn t wait for it to

what was happening. With this show I had to read pretty fast because there were so many characters
and they would have line after line. It was a constant looking at the captions and not at the picture.

It didn t happen that way either. I m not sure how it happened; not exactly. p. 303 I really admire
Margaret Atwood for incorporating questions a reader has while reading the novel and somehow
answering it through this writing technique. Unlike other authors who tell their story without room for
the reader to question the story s reliability, Atwood does exactly that. Offred often brings up that what
this is a retelling, a reconstruction of events encouraging the reader to actually analyze whether they

Years earlier, Offred had visited with Luke, cheating on his wife and here she was again with the
Commander, also cheating on his wife. The irony between the two times has really allowed me to
witness how little Offred has changed compared to the immense changes that have occurred in society.
Perhaps Margaret Atwood wanted to transfer this message to her readers or maybe she just wanted to
allow the reader to easily follow this devastating tale. In any case, this technique worked well for me
throughout the span of the novel.

An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge Essay
Left to an End in An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge.
People need to realize that their actions could lead to bigger problems. For example, if one would rob
a bank, they face the consequence of being caught and going to jail for their whole life. That is exactly
what Peyton Farquhar faced in An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge. Peyton wants to go North, hoping
for an opportunity. However, the problem is getting over the Owl Creek Bridge, where he has to prowl
his way out of the bridge and get past the soldiers surrounding it to finally get North. In his story An
Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, Ambrose Bierce uses the Owl Creek Bridge and the water under the
bridge to represent death.
In the story, the bridge shows a transition from imagination to reality. Peyton Farquhar was trying to

The bridge is the transition because he goes from being by the bridge to finally getting to his family.
The author states, Doubtless, despite his suffering, he had fallen asleep while walking, for now he sees

passed out, Peyton actually had a transition from being in his mind to reality. He woke up from his
imagination and is hoping a close path to his family. As he pushes open the gate and passes up the
wide white walk, he sees a flutter of female garments; his wife, looking fresh and cool and sweet...
(Bierce 6). This scene shows that he finally got to his wife and is about to hug her. However, he dealt
through all of this to just go in another transition. As he went to hug his wife, imagination turns to
reality again and he is actually left hanging on the Owl Creek Bridge. This links with the claim due to
the two transitions from the bridge actually leading Farquhar to his tragic

Intervention Of The Un Security Council
Over the last 15 years peacekeeping operations have changed substantially at the behest of the UN
Security Council. Authorization for the use of force conducted by peacekeepers have been granted
more frequently, and in particular the method of peacekeeping operations have been reorganized to
relinquish the root causes of the instability within a nation that is riddled with political or economic
turbulence. The Brahimi Report was a report of the panel on the United Nations Peace Operations in
the year 2000 highlighting on the United Nations failure to prevent genocide in Rwanda and to protect
the inhabitants of Srebrenica (Bosnia). During the panel much was discussed; member states called for
a renewed political commitment, institutional change and increase their financial support. In order to
make peacekeeping operations more effective, certain mandatory requirements were put fourth,
peacekeeping operations must be properly resourced and equipped, and operate under clear, credible
and achievable mandates. In 2000, the UN analyzed previous peacekeeping operations and were not
satisfied by the results, as a result the UN began to exercise a series of reforms to strengthen its
capacity to manage and sustain field operations. One that I took great note of was institutional change,
however it is very unclear on what defines institutional change, one case that deserves prominence
was The United Nation s Force Intervention Brigade (UNFIB). UNFIB was a military formation

We ll never bring out just a me too product echoed in every department. The Gillette Connection In
1967, the Braun brothers sold the company to an American consumer products giant, Gillette. The
Gillette Company, well known for its mass produced, mass marketed products like razors, blades, and
toiletries, hardly seemed the company to become the parent of an elite class German firm. But Gillette
was no stranger to Europe, having marketed its goods on the continent and in Britain since the turn of
the twentieth century. It now saw the Braun acquisition as an opportunity to cover the dry end of the
shaving business, as well as to extend its influence upward. Braun, for its part, had by 1967 grown to
over 5,700 employees and operated in 144 countries, but it was too small to compete with the
multinationals. Its management saw Gillette as a source of funding to enable them to do so. Shortly
afterwards, Braun moved its headquarters from Frankfurt to Kronberg, a few kilometers away. For the
first several years, Gillette left Braun s product strategy intact while infusing some of its management
expertise into the organization. Very few people knew that this German company par excellence had
an American owner. Braun expanded its operations in other countries and began to extend its target
markets beyond the opinion leaders it had originally cultivated. Braun s Spanish operations were a
case in point.

Fellowship Of The Ring Essay
Courage and Fellowship
In his film Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (2001), director Peter Jackson creates the world
of Middle Earth. He uses Characterization, Symbols, Dichotomy, Character Growth, Sound, and
Dialogue to express the theme of Courage and Perseverance. Using these elements the director takes
the protagonist on a perilous journey, and accurately shows one of the most inspiring stories ever
brought to cinema.
Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) of the Shire in the beginning of the movie is a young and spry Hobbit
that has never gone through an ounce of hardship in his life. Peter Jackson uses Dialogue and
Characterization in the opening scene to show this. Frodo is first seen reading from a book until he
hears the sound of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gandalf later explains to Frodo the true power that the Ring possesses and explains that Sauron (the
antagonist) knows that the Ring is with Bilbo at the Shire. At first Frodo says that the Ring must be
hidden away until he learns that Sauron knows of it s location, which leads to the first act of Courage
that we see from Frodo as he accepts the menacing Ring despite knowing the consequences of
carrying it. Frodo accepts the Ring to protect his home and those he holds dear, thus he is beginning
his dangerous journey to become a courageous hero. After barely escaping the Nazgul (An enemy that
is trying to steal the Ring from Frodo), Frodo leaves the Ring to the council and prepares to depart.
The council then cannot decide who shall carry the Ring to Mordor to be destroyed. This leads to a
very important scene in the film. Frodo steps up and says that he will take the Ring to Mordor to be
destroyed. He says that he does not know the way and still courageously accepts the Ring. In the end
Sauron s minions the Uruk Hai find the Fellowship and a battle occurs that rips the Fellowship apart.
This is the most important scene of the entire film, because Frodo then decides to leave alone to
Mordor to destroy the Ring. The director uses

The Effect Of Low Phonics On The Existing English...
Abstract:
My research English project is about studying the importance and effects of adding Phonics to the
existing English curriculum at the early grades of elementary 4th to 6th grades in Saudi Arabia.
Phonics is an important in the whole English learning process, especially at the early ages and
elementary school years. Phonics depends on sound of words and how to spell them correctly and
accurately.
Currently, there is no structured phonics learning implemented at our elementary schools for English
learning. If the phonics is implemented, it will enhance the spelling of words and pronunciations. By
applying more methods and tools to teach phonics as educational videos, clips and educational
software available in the market. Reading English for those kids will be easier and will be better in
reading comprehension.
Introduction:
Phonics is all about teaching children the sounds in English words. When you can identify sounds in
words and sentences, you are well on your way to becoming literate. Well, with phonics, your child
will have the confidence to identify the vowels, consonants and syllables and can at least attempt to
read the word. Phonics basically teaches your child how to sound out words in the English language.
Phonics is a method for teaching reading and writing by developing learners phonemic awareness.
Phonics is absolutely essential for helping children begin to read. Once the code of reading has been
cracked through phonics, children will then have

Oscar Wilde s The Importance Of Being Earnest
We live, I regret to say, in an age of surfaces. [Lady Bracknell, Page 64, Act III] Oscar Wilde s famed
comedy the importance of being earnest uses wit and epigrams to critique the hypocritical
perspectives of the Victorian era. The play uses the relationships between Algernon and Jack to mock
the general tolerance for how hypocritical and meaningless of any real moral value in upper class
Victorian society was Algernon, one of the more dandy, cynical characters is used by Wilde to really
satirize Victorian virtues while displaying the male life of deception in the 1800s. His paradoxical
attitudes tend to come off as absurd or to reflect the double standard moral codes during that era. This
is depicted by his strong ingenuity for the society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He symbolises a character of the upper class society clearly recognisable to Wilde s audience. Despite
his gentlemanly figure, Jack isn t what others perceive him to be. While living a double life, he
deceives those around him with his forged respectable outer shell creating a strong sense of moral
hypocrisy. One prominent example is the way he ruthlessly judges Algernon s actions without
considering his own. During act II he retorts, Your vanity is ridiculous, your conduct an outrage, and
your presence in my garden utterly absurd (Pg. 42). The accusation itself is entirely insincere and
hypocritical, bearing in mind the fact that he is guilty of doing the same thing bunburism. As Jack
incessantly rejects the idea of being a bunburist , he continues an effort to pursue a double life as
Ernest in town and Jack in the country. (Act I, page. 8), while trying preserve his respectable façade.
Jack and Algernon both are equals when misleading others as an escape route from the responsibilities
back in the country and in town. Jack, however, is subtler but is as equally deceptive and hypocritical
as Algernon. This is evidently shown when a series of knowledge is unravelled after Algernon has his
private cigarette case after leaving it in a smoking party room. Jack immediately then points out that it
is ungentlemanly to read someone s private cigarette case as a defence mechanism to protect the lies
he has told. After revealing to Algernon that his actual name is Jack and that Cecily is his young ward,
without hesitation, he refuses to acknowledge his act of bunburism and therefore making himself a
hypocrite. Consequently, to Algernon s witty response, it suggests the strict moral and social codes of
conduct that everyone was expected to abide by. His creation of an alter ego was to escape the harsh
codes of conduct and form an act of liberation through

The History of Windows
Ever since the invention of the micro computer, there has been a definitive war between companies
competing for their share of the professional and private computer market. There have been hundreds
of operating systems produced over the years, most of them were not able to maintain a solid customer
base, and became extinct. There are a few, however, that have eclipsed the computer world. There is a
definite line between consumers for the three most popular operating systems, UNIX, Macintosh, and
Windows. Microsoft, who produced Windows, gained wide public support almost from the beginning,
leading to a near monopolization of the computer software industry. Here is a history of the Windows
operating system as it was introduced back in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This version was the last to boast 100% backward compatibility with older windows applications. It
was based on the new Intel 386 processor, which greatly improved speed and reliability. This version
of Windows also first implemented the use of third party device drivers, allowing for more focus on
writing applications rather than device drivers. Graphical upgrades included the icon based file
manager and program manager, making access to data much easier. The addition of the well known
card game solitaire also made its debut in the 3.0 version of Windows. Another big leap for Windows
3.x was that it could run in three different memory modes (Windows Products and Technologies
History, 2006). Real mode s only use was for the running of applications built for Windows 2.x.
Standard mode was the most common running mode, as it was most compatible with the 286
processor and 1 MB of memory that were in most computers at that time. The last was 386 Enhanced
Mode, implemented with all the benefits of standard mode, plus 32 bit addressing and paging for
faster memory access. In 386 Enhanced mode, the user could run several MS DOS based programs,
each in their own window, at the same time. Third party programming support for the 3.0 version
exploded, and application companies all over the world were developing programs compatible with
Windows 3.0. In the first year of its release, version 3.0 sold

  • 2. Ted Kennedy A Political Analysis A Democrat from Massachusetts of Kennedy family fame, Senator Edward Ted Kennedy spoke before the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies on September 27th, 2002. Just a year earlier on September 11th, 2001, terrorists attacked the American homeland, arousing politicians and the American public alike to eliminate the threat posed by terror. While Iraq had little to do with 9/11, President George W. Bush capitalized on the spirit of 9/11 and made it a personal mission to go after Saddam Hussein, the illiberal Iraqi dictator that Bush accused of harboring nuclear weapons. Kennedy s speech in September of 2002 came right as Bush began looking to take preemptive action against Iraq. Kennedy thus used this opportunity to come out against the war Bush was looking to wage. Iraq had become the biggest talking point in American politics, and Kennedy, one of the most influential Democrats at the time, was one of the few members of Congress to take such a decisive stance. • 3. Oliver Twist By Charles Dickens Charles Dickens, the author of Oliver Twist. Charles Dickens was born on February 7th, 1812 in Landport, England, and then died on June 9th, 1870 in Kent, England. In his 58 years of life he made a collection of books that are still famous today; although it was not until 1836 that he started to come to fame when he published The Pickwick Papers. One of the many books he published was Oliver Twist and this story was one that he related too, because like this story Dickens had little education as a child and had to work as a child after his father was thrown into prison; however like the story goes he did not give up and made the most out of the life that he had ( Life of Charles Dickens ). The book Oliver Twist is a story about a young boy named Oliver Twist. Oliver is an orphan that everyone sees as a nuisance that is too naive to ever be more than just a hungry little boy. Unfortunately Oliver was abused from everyone that was older or in a higher ranking position than him, however, this was not uncommon almost every poor person was abused by the middle class or anyone that had more than an empty stomach to their name. Just like the different types of classes that are present today in this book, they had the same four classes then the upper class, middle class, working class, and the lower class; and each one of these classes influenced the world differently. • 4. Racial Stereotypes And Its Negative Effects On Our Society Humanity as a whole cannot help but judge one another. A stereotype is a fixed belief about someone s religion, gender, or social group. Stereotypes can have positive and negative affects on our society. Often times, people use stereotypes to belittle a group of people. An example of a racial stereotype would include all Hispanics being illegal immigrants. Racial stereotypes always favor the race of the holder and put down other races. People use racial stereotypes because it is human nature to recognize patterns. When seeing these patterns within a specific race people often tend to immediately associate him or herself within that society. From a positive point of view stereotypes can give confidence and favor them above a certain group or class of people. Stereotypes such as Asians have high IQs can make them have confidence in themselves. often times it is hard to live up to a positive stereotype. Although we think positive stereotyping is a good thing it really is not. Most positive stereotyping sets the bar unrealistically high and only leaves room for failure. Another example of a positive stereotype with a negative affect is All black people are good at sports. If a particular African American is not good at sports then they will feel less than adequate. Positive stereotypes can be depressing to individuals who are supposed to posses them but fall short. Balloon Sinusitis Millions of people take medications each day to manage the irritation and inflammation of sinuses, but undergoing balloon sinus surgery offers a permanent and effective solution. Before treatment, it is important to understand your condition fully. With this guide, you will understand chronic sinusitis and learn how surgery can decrease your discomfort to improve your quality of life. Understanding Chronic Sinusitis Living with chronic sinusitis can be incredibly painful, since it causes your nasal passages to be inflamed, swollen, and irritated for 12 or more weeks. Nasal irrigation is also effective for alleviating pain and promoting proper drainage. Irrigating your nasal passages with a saline solution can greatly decrease your congestion. Medications are usually successful short term solutions, but treating your chronic sinusitis may require a more permanent solution. Thankfully, balloon sinus surgery is effective for chronic inflammation of the sinuses. During the procedure, the inflamed sinuses are opened up using a balloon to dilate the nasal passage. Once dilated, a saline solution is sprayed deep into the nasal passage to flush out stubborn mucus. The sinuses remain open after the procedure, reducing your risk of inflammation in the future. Medications may be effective for fast relief, but they do not treat your sinusitis long term. Also, most medications for sinus inflammation have other side effects including drowsiness and nausea. The balloon surgery is capable of healing chronic sinusitis without side effects or invasive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With heavy emphasis on the caste system, the religion dominated Indian culture for several hundred years but eventually became the platform from which Jainism, Buddhism, and Hinduism sprang. As a result, members of early Indian civilizations found spiritualism in external events. The Upanishads however, recorded between 750 B.C.E. and 500 B.C.E., introduced fundamental concepts that suggested humans, not gods, are ultimately responsible for what happens to them in the afterlife. In order to compete with the influx of Jainism and Buddhism, Brahmanism was forced to evolve. Hinduism, much more reflective of orthodox Brahmanism than the teachings of Mahavira or Buddha, revolved around the moral law dharma. Perhaps the most unique feature, however, is the polytheistic approach that promotes the worship of personal gods, which provided an appealing versatility. Hinduism evolved with the Bhagavad Gita, a manifesto for how adherence to dharma could be balanced with the pleasures of life, contrary to the asceticism of competing religions. Additionally, dharma brought optimism to the working class by offering the promise of serenity in the afterlife, though it ultimately subdued them and perpetuated the caste system found in ancient India. Renaissance eventually comes from the French word Renaistre, meaning to be born again. The Renaissance was a revival or a rebirth of cultural awareness and learning among art, law, language, literature, philosophy, science, and mathematics. This period took place between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries. The Renaissance in Italy flourished in the 15th century and spread throughout most of Europe in the 16th century. The more important figures in the painting were frequently made larger than all the others, and often the element of landscape was omitted completely. Members of the Holy Family for example, would be painted against a background of shining gold, which signified the heavens. During the Renaissance, all that changed. The period was characterized by a renewed interest in ancient Greek and Roman design and included an emphasis on human beings and the environment. The secularism and humanism of the Renaissance were reflected in its scholarship and education. Its concern was with this world rather than the hereafter, and its focus was on pagan classics rather than Christian theology. The father Of Renaissance literature, Petrarch, stressed that the new boarding schools were not to train priests but the sons of merchants. The humanist movement was further stimulated by the influence of Byzantine scholars who came to Italy after the fall of Constantinople (present day Istanbul) to the Turks in 1453 and also by the establishment of the Platonic Academy in Florence. He could have meant many things by this statement, and in relation to the play, the meaning is found to be even more complex. Indeed, the situation of Oedipus, king of Thebes, the truth of this statement is in question. Would Oedipus have been better off if he was blind to the knowledge of his birthing and the fate which was foretold to someday befall him? The question arises, what would life have been like, if Oedipus had not discovered his true origins? If he had stayed in Corinth, would this have ever happened? We find that indeed, we would have had no story, if not for that lone comment of a drunkard which sparked the fire of rebellion in the young prince Oedipus. He ventured out to Delphi, to pry knowledge of his background out of it, and to discover if this was indeed the truth, despite the fact that his adopted parents of Corinth had assured him of it falseness. Oedipus leaves Corinth, fulfilling the Socratic idea of the unexamined life. However, we must evaluate the eventual consequences of his actions and the implications which they possess. What becomes of his fateful journey out of Corinth leads to the downfall of an entire city and family line. If he had not murdered King Laius, the Sphinx would have never descended upon Thebes, he would have never fulfilled the prophecy, and all would have lived on in a relative peace and tranquillity. Once examining these aspects of the relationship between the quote and Oedipus Rex, we can come to a final examination of its implications. The question which was addressed, that of the value of the examined life, can be answered. Indeed, if Oedipus had not ventured beyond the protective walls of his adopted home, would anything such as what occurred in the play ever have transpired? • 13. Interval Training Research Paper How to Begin Interval Training When You Are Currently Sedentary The benefits of a good interval training program are widely supported these days, in research and in everyday life. Stronger muscles, a more efficient cardiovascular system, and a leaner, more toned physique are just some of the results that have propelled interval training into style, even above traditional steady state cardio sessions. Part of the reason this method of exercise works so well is that it forces your body to adapt to much harsher stimuli than traditional exercise does by pushing you into an anaerobic state. There is no doubt that brief, intense bouts of anaerobic training are enormously beneficial to the seasoned exerciser, but to a beginner, they can be painful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In general, a training program for complete beginners can have anywhere from five to ten intervals of work separated by intervals of rest and recovery. The number of intervals can then be increased depending on levels of fitness. You can perform almost any exercise of your choice in an interval format, but cardio exercises like running, biking, and swimming are the most simple for complete beginners to learn safely. While you can vary the length and number of work intervals to match your goals, rest intervals when you are first starting out from a sedentary lifestyle should be kept long enough so you feel recovered and rested before starting the next work interval. This rule of thumb will help keep you from injuring yourself before you become accustomed to what your body can handle. Long, slow intervals of around two minutes or more are best if your goal is to eventually be able to maintain a steady cardio pace without needing to take breaks. For example, if you want to train to jog a 5k race, it would be worthwhile to do two to four long interval sessions per week to build up your cardio capacity. Additionally, if it has been a long time since you have exercised regularly, longer, slower intervals can help you get back into the game and get back to a basic level of fitness. Stick to this interval length until you feel comfortable taking the next step into harder, faster ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Identity of the Satyricon s Author An issue which has been debated by scholars for centuries, the identity of the Satyricon s author can be seen to be resolved through Tacitus obituary of one Petronius, an adviser to the Emperor Nero on taste and luxury. Petronius, according to various sources, was celebrated at Rome for his refined taste which attracted the attention of the Emperor Nero; however his high position in Roman elite society was eventually taken away because of Tigellinus conspiracies and machinations. The Satyricon itself contains many references to contemporary figures and events that allow us to date the text to the time when Nero was Emperor, and the content and tone of the novel suggest to the reader that Petronius is the ideal author of this vast, impressive work, of which we only have fragments. It is especially important to note the economic, social and political background of the text and the many intertextual allusions in the novel. Tacitus obituary of Petronius offers details that correspond to the Satyricon in a persuasive and convincing manner. This essay will examine the evidence that supports the theory that Tacitus Petronius wrote the Satyricon, in addition to some of the arguments to the contrary. I had woken up to ensure that my men had all of their sensitive items on them and report to my Squad Leader that they did. On that day we were heading out to T.I. 2, a desolate array of Hesco barriers set up as an Afghan Uniformed Police (AUP) Checkpoint. It was our Company s responsibility to partner with the AUP down there to help protect T.I. 2 so that they can conduct their own patrols. It was located roughly a thousand meters south of Fob Zangabad, and about five hundred meters east of the town of Gerandi. Gerandi was the stronghold of the Taliban in that area, so T.I. 2 was key to disrupting their operations in the surrounding area. The Union when a force called for General James G.Blunt holds off a force of Confederates under General Thomas Hindman. Hindman joined in force at Fort Smith, Arkansas, to make an attempt to recapture territory lost during the Pea Ridge campaign of early 1862. After Cane Hill, Hindman marched his 11,000 man army across the Boston Mountains and Approached Blunt s 5,000 Troops. The two armies lost about 2,700 soldiers who were wounded, killed, or missing in action. The battle was a tactical draw, but a strategic Union victory as the Federals would maintain control of Missouri and northwest Arkansas for the remainder of the war. Unfortunately, there would be plenty of guerrilla warfare in the region with bushwhackers (Southern supporters) and jayhawkers (Union supporters) destroying the countryside and forcing many families to become refugees from the conflict. It would take many years for the people to recover from the effects of the Civil War. Nearly a month after initiating their campaign against Confederates in southwest Missouri, Gen. Samuel R. Curtis Union Army of the Southwest had pushed into Arkansas and established a defensive position on the bluffs overlooking Little Sugar Creek. At the same time, Gen. Earl Van Dorn was appointed to take command of Confederate forces in the trans Mississippi with the objective of destroying Curtis and his 12,000 Federals. Rather than attack Curtis fortifications, Van Dorn proposed to march around the Union right flank, near Pea Ridge. In the course of the maneuver, however, the Southern forces were divided. • 31. Experiment 4 Coligative Properties Experiment CH 204 Introduction to Chemical Practice Experiment 4 Colligative Properties Mia Chu* Rylee Trotter TA: Grace He October 9, 2017 INTRODUCTION Solutions are formed by mixing a solute in a solvent. A unique characteristic of solutions is that they have colligative properties, which can be defined as properties that solely depend on the solute s concentration of molecules, not the identity of the solute. Colligative properties include reducing the vapor pressure, elevating the boiling point, depressing the freezing point, and osmotic pressure.1 In this particular experiment, the colligative property freezing point depression will be focused on. Freezing point depression was discovered by a French chemist named Francois Marie Raoult. Raoult found that adding a solute to a solvent resulted in an overall decrease in the freezing point temperature of the solvent.2 Calculations involved in this experiment include two basic equations. One equation will calculate molality, and the other will calculate the change in freezing point temperature using the freezing point depression constant, the solution s molality, and the van t Hoff factor. The van t Hoff factor is determined by finding the number of ions that a compound will dissociate into. In this experiment, freezing point depression will be utilized to determine the molecular weights and identities of two unknown compounds. EXPERIMENTAL In Part A of the experiment, the freezing point depression of deionized water, the solvent, was monitored and analyzed. First, a cold bath was prepared by filling a beaker full of ice, and adding around 20 g of rock salt and 20 mL of water until the temperature was between 10C and 15C. The LabQuest and corresponding temperature probe was then prepared. 20 mL of deionized water was added to a glass vial, and the temperature probe was then added to the vial. The vial was lowered and submerged into the ice bath while the LabQuest collected temperature readings. The vial was removed from the ice bath once the readings stabilized after around twenty minutes. Part B involved monitoring and analyzing the freezing point depression of an unknown ionic solid, the identity of the solid being either NaCl or KI. Unknown #1 was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Other specific aspects about creep in sandwich panels will also be included, such as temperature influence in creep behavior. 2.1 Origins and development The origins of sandwich construction can be found in many book which introduce these type of structure. Although Noor, Burton, and Bert (1849, cited in Vinson 1999) state the basic concept of sandwich construction in 19th century, the sandwich construction is relatively new concept and firstly be used in aerospace industry (Davies 2001). The development of technology in sandwich construction is driven by special demand of the shell of spacecraft or aircraft, which is light in weight yet strong enough to sustain huge air pressure in acceleration or landing. A perfect example of this application is Apollo space ship, which successful landed on the moon on 20 July 1969.The wall construction of Apollo capsule was made by two interconnected sandwich shells, and each of them has a honeycomb core. For example, if one would rob a bank, they face the consequence of being caught and going to jail for their whole life. That is exactly what Peyton Farquhar faced in An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge. Peyton wants to go North, hoping for an opportunity. However, the problem is getting over the Owl Creek Bridge, where he has to prowl his way out of the bridge and get past the soldiers surrounding it to finally get North. In his story An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, Ambrose Bierce uses the Owl Creek Bridge and the water under the bridge to represent death. • 43. The Effect Of Low Phonics On The Existing English... Abstract: My research English project is about studying the importance and effects of adding Phonics to the existing English curriculum at the early grades of elementary 4th to 6th grades in Saudi Arabia. Phonics is an important in the whole English learning process, especially at the early ages and elementary school years. Phonics depends on sound of words and how to spell them correctly and accurately. Currently, there is no structured phonics learning implemented at our elementary schools for English learning. If the phonics is implemented, it will enhance the spelling of words and pronunciations. By applying more methods and tools to teach phonics as educational videos, clips and educational software available in the market. Reading English for those kids will be easier and will be better in reading comprehension. Introduction: Phonics is all about teaching children the sounds in English words. When you can identify sounds in words and sentences, you are well on your way to becoming literate. Well, with phonics, your child will have the confidence to identify the vowels, consonants and syllables and can at least attempt to read the word. Phonics basically teaches your child how to sound out words in the English language. Phonics is a method for teaching reading and writing by developing learners phonemic awareness. Phonics is absolutely essential for helping children begin to read. Once the code of reading has been cracked through phonics, children will then have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
