Robert Frost s Mending Wall
In his poem, Mending Wall , Robert Frost presents to us the considerations of
boundaries connecting individuals, correspondence, companionship and the suspicion that all is
well and good individuals pick up from obstructions. His messages are passed on utilizing
beautiful methods, for example, symbolism, structure and humor, uncovering a perplexing side
of the sonnet and in addition accomplishing a general cheerful impact. Robert Frost has
shrewdly entwined both a strict and allegorical significance into the lyric, utilizing the patching
of an unmistakable divider as a typical portrayal of the obstructions that different the neighbors
in their friendship.
The subject of the poem is around two neighbors who differ over the need ... Show more content on

Since the fence is imperative
to the neighbor, he treats the matter of repairing it genuinely. Symbolism is utilized to depict
the neighbor s state of mind, showing a somewhat dismal, yet humorous portrayal of him
moving the stones and repairing the fence. The storyteller sees the willfulness in his neighbor,
and uses the likeness like an old stone savage to contrast the him with a stone age man who
moves in dimness (lines 40, 41), that is, set in his ways, and who is probably not going to
change his perspectives.
The form of the Mending Wall is a long one stanza sonnet. It is composed in clear verse
and contains an account like style. Redundancy is utilized as a method to accentuate the
primary thoughts. The line something there is that doesn t love a divider has been rehashed in
line thirty five with another significance. It alludes to the states of mind of the narrator towards
the wall the narrator does not love the wall and needs it down while the something said
in the main line of the poem alludes to nature. Another case of redundancy is the
announcement great wall make great neighbors . This reflects back to and underscores

Happiness Is The Most Important Aspect Of The Mind
Buddhists believe happiness is being able to realize that no matter what you think about the
circumstances that define your life, you are already good, whole and complete. It s about
recognizing the inherit potential in your mind. Happiness is being awakened to the full
potential of his own nature. People have to change their mindset in order to achieve happiness
for example someone who suffers from anxiety may have a attack they can believe they are
having a nervous breakdown or you can confront your thoughts and fears and realize have that
you re a having a nervous breakthrough. By controlling your thoughts you are able to control
your outcome of situations. Happiness is awareness and the feeling of complete and whole. In
order to achieve happiness one must first realize that every sentient being that is, every creature
endowed with even a very basic sense of awareness which can be defined by three basic aspects or
characteristics: body, speech and mind. It is important to know that the mind is essence, is the most
important aspect of all creatures that share the attribute of being sentient. It s important to
acknowledge the natural mind and that is capable of producing anything, even ignorance of its own
nature. But a compassionate mind is a diligent mind and with compassion things such as starvation
and people being slaughter would not exist.
Buddhists believe Natural peace is necessary to achieve happiness. Natural peace is a condition

Examples Of Animals In Animal Farm
In the novel, all social classes of animals are discontented because of the treatment they get from
their owner, Mr. Jones. On the farm, Jones sets them [the animals] to work to grow and gather the
resources on the farm. They also breed more animals, which are then taken away. Therefore, he
gives back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving, and he keeps the rest
for himself (8). Jones cares about what he makes from the farm, meaning that the animalsare not
well cared for because he is only concerned about himself. The animals are left with barely
anything after giving Jones so much. All the animals are then miserable with their lives. Old Major

they get older, either taken away or killed because of age. Thus, the animals listen to what Major

Sophocles Phaedrus Knowledge Bias
Phaedrus was told a story by his classical Greek philosopher friend Socrates. The story was about
the King of great city of Egypt, Thamus. He was introduced a lot of inventions by Theuth who was
known as the god of inventions. Theuth declared that his inventions would be available extensively
to Egypt s people.
One of the Theuth s inventions was writing and he believed that it can help Egyptians to get better
with their wisdom and memory. Whereas Thamus contradicted his approach and said this invention
can stop people to practice their memory and they can get forgetful and can be dependent on this
invention.
This story can be the best example of how one thing can be approached by two different
dimensions. Theuth was the one who was considering only the ... Show more content on

He conveys that bringing a new technology can bring many new words and also they have to work
on their old words too. His main concern was technology could be the cause of monopoly in the
society. It means that someone in the society whoever controls new technology will have all that
power and this could create disruptance in the society. Harold Innis used the term Knowledge
Monopolies in his book The Bias of Communication which also conveys the same message.
In this article, Author gave an example of Television that tells that TV has become very important
part for many people s life and it can gradually end the profession of teaching. One more example,
he mentioned in his article was about computer technology that has made a group of people more
powerful than those people whose privacy is risked because of them. This is all because of
technology which remained the same but has different effects in different ways.
According to the article Thamus noticed conceit of knowledge but he showed that it won t succeed
for so long because computers will provide private learning opportunities and will take over four
hundred years old concept of

What Is The British Conservative Party
The British Conservative Party in 1935 s main concerns were peace and defense. They understood
that the League of Nations would play a huge role in both supporting and strengthening their goals
in these two subjects. The League of Nations was the center of British foreign policy and the first
interest of the citizens of Britain. The recent problems between Italy and Abyssinia only heightened
the need for the League of Nations. They did not want to repress back into their old system which
resulted after the Great War. The needs of national defense and the fulfillment of international
obligations were the measurements of the national armaments by the Covenant. The

Incident Command System Analysis
The utilization of the Incident Command System (ICS) in the United States may at first glance
appear to be an overwhelming, and complicated system of hazard management. On the contrary, for
most responders with military, law enforcement, or fire service background, ICS closely conforms
to the principles of command structure with which they are familiar. Applying strict command
structure, along with standardized response training leads to higher probabilities of successful
outcomes in the face of the most chaotic emergencies. Large scale emergency responses like 9/11
are repeatedly critiqued, often from afar, sometimes correctly, but sometimes unfairly. Responders
on the ground make immediate life altering decisions based on instinct, or perform... Show more

Training of individual responders in the use of PPE, hazardous material recognition, shielding
tactics, or establishing an immediate perimeter can often increase survivability and mission
success. The use of two man tactics to offensively isolate a terrorist, instead of waiting for a
larger tactical unit response can be effective in limiting the scope of violent attacks. The use of
technologies including: video surveillance, explosive detection, infrared viewing, thermal
imaging, drones, and robotics are examples of advantageous equipment that when used correctly
can positively alter response ability. The use of cross training of responder disciplines, such as
police receiving fire or ems training will lead to more capabilities and understanding by those
first on scene. Approximately half of individuals that work in law enforcement, fire, rescue,
emergency medical, and related fields hold a second job in a similar emergency response agency
(Newman, and Clark, 2008). Every possible advantage should be examined as first responders
prepare for handling a terrorist situation, especially if the initial immediate response is limited in
scope. First on scene personnel must also survive an attack themselves so that they may be able to

The Future For Sport Management
Introduction The future for sport management in Australia appears prosperous. Over the years,
Australia has managed to develop an international reputation for sporting excellence through its
national team performances and the expansion of its sports systems (Daly, 1991; ASC, 1998;
Shilbury Kellett, 2011). The country has managed to host some of the greatest sporting events,
notably the Olympic games, the Rugby World Cup, the Cricket World Cup, with aspirations to
bring the Football (soccer) World Cup to Australia in 2018 (ASC, 2011). International sporting
events of this scale are capable of generating considerable revenue for its sport industry, as well as
the country s economy (i.e. tourism). The Australian sport industry has become a multi billion
dollar enterprise (ABS, 2013), and the role of sport management has been intensified as a result of
this. Australian Sport Systems Government Systems The support of government for sport has been
increasing over the last thirty years, and is now on the political agenda of the Australian
government (Shilbury Kellett, 2011). As Australian sport and its industry began to grow and
develop further and further, sport programs were introduced in the sport system, notably the
Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). As a result of this, the Australian Sports Commission (ASC)
was created in order to coordinate sport on the government s behalf (Shilbury Kellett, 2011). Sport

A Comparison Of The Bachelor And The Bachelorette Franchise
If there was a topic that I was an expert in, it would be The Bachelor and The Bachelorette
franchise, and that is exactly what it is, a franchise. I have watched the shows since I was a little
girl, I remember watching them with my mother at a young age and now I watch them with my
friends. I have not watched every season, but I have watched a plenty. Many people do watch the
show for entertainment or so they believe, but studies have shown that it perpetrates the way that
people think about loveand life. Although, they do get entertainment from it, often people will leave
the show feeling entertained, amused, cheered up, or stimulated. (ARTICLE)
Some background information on the show, The Bachelorette; it is based off of the show The
Bachelor. The concept of the show centers around one woman finding love within a group of 25
suitors. A season typically only lasts 7 or 8 episodes, which is normally filmed over a span of 3
months. The first episode is primarily introducing the different men to the woman, with her only
learning their names and a few things about each of them. Throughout the middle of the season,
she will go on group dates and individual dates with all of the men. Each week she gives out roses
to the men that she would like to keep around and further develop relationships with. In the last
episode, there are 2 men remaining. They will meet her family and go on one final date. On the last
day, she will be standing in a beautiful destination

Negligence In Emergency Management Law
Emergency management law derives from federal, state and local laws which legal responsibility
may result in liability (Nicholson, p 393). When addressing the state law, the tort concept arise
known as negligence (Nicholson, p 393). Also, Immunities protect emergency managers under
certain conditions (Nicholson, p 393). The National Fire Protection Association and post 9/11
federal law generated new benchmarks for emergency managers to follow that resulted in federal

Racism In Benito Cereno
The ignorance of Captain Delano in Benito Cereno can be accredited to his racist convictions that
guide his perception of the ship s perilous situation. However, is Delano at fault for his racism?
When rethinking the racism in Benito Cereno under the context of Althusser s theories on ideology,
racism is an ideologyforcibly implemented on the subject through the social institution of slavery.
Delano s actions and thoughts throughout Benito Cereno prove that his racismis a result of a socially
imposed ideology and challenge the modern ideals of racism that place the blame for racist
attitudes entirely on the racist subject. Delano is the subject of a racist ideology and has been
forced into that ideology through the social apparatus of slavery
A fundamental aspect of ideology is that an ideology always exists in an apparatus, and its
practices, or practice. The existence is material (Althusser 695). The ideology of racism uses the
institution of slavery as an apparatus for implementing racism. Slavery was a socially imposed
practice that trained those who were enslaving others to accept the reality and need for this given
institution. This ideology forced people into perceiving Africans as wild people who lacked
civility, education, and intelligence as a whole. However, as is the function of ideology, the
individual being influenced lacks the control to escape from the cyclical nature of the idea being
enforced. This system left Delano incapable of questioning the

Symbols Of Death In Halloween
Symbols of death have been commonplace in western cultures since their inception. However, the
way in which these symbols are interpreted have gone through significant changes as the human
relationship to death has progressed. This relationship has been fundamentally shaped by
interactions with disease, war, and varying levels of technology, which influences the amount of
deathindividuals encounter throughout their lives. This intersectionality of causal factors,
symbolism, and interpretation of the human condition, is continually illustrated through different
cultural means, especially art and dГ©cor and holidays. In the post war to contemporary period,
Death has been largely removed from Western cultures, particularly North America and Europe, as
technological advancements, and the sanitization of the public gaze have occurred. However, an
indirect relationship to death still persists through cultural interactions with Halloween. Analysis of
the spaces in which death is opening described, visualized, and indirectly interacted, need to occur
to create a larger understanding the roots of western cultural practices, and to understand the
problematic aspects of the spectacle of death through commodification.
Within the historical trajectory of Halloween the connections to death and human mortality are
abundantly apparent. Though there are many examples of cultural practices or holidays that
celebrate or commemorate death globally, the origins of Halloween can be directly

An Example Of Social Conflict Theory In The Blind Side
The movie The Blind Side shows many examples of Social Conflict Theory as discussed and
covered this semester in class. A movie set in Memphis, Tennessee, released November 2009, it is
a story of a young black man overcoming difficulties concerning racial stereotypes, racial
inequality, and poverty. Based on a true life story, Michael Oherwas faced with many challenges
that was out of his control and the movie shows how he overcome many of those unfortunate
challenges with the help of the wealthy Tuohy family. The Tuohy family is a well to do family
that lives on what is considered the other side of the tracks from where Michael Oher grew up.
Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy take Michael under their wings and into their care and the story
evolves from there. When you study the society Michael Oher was a part of prior to becoming a
student at a private Christian school and before becoming a part of the Tuohy family you can see

In Tortilla Curtain, Candido and America have a very difficult time living in Los Angeles. Being
illegal immigrants is harder than they thought. Delaney Mossbacher, a middle class man, hit

badly injured, but accepted twenty dollars from Delaney and ended up going their own ways.
Delaney, his wife, and stepson, Jordan, live their routine life in a neighborhood called Arroyo

To America, the American dream was not living in a huge, fancy house, but to have a house, a
yard, maybe a TV and a car too nothing fancy, no palaces like the gringos built just four walls
and a roof (Boyle 29). The typical immigrant does not come to American with the intentions of
becoming wealthy. They come to American to have a better opportunity in life. To be able to
own a home, work and have a family. According to The New York Times, The phrase American
dream was invented during the Great Depression. It comes from a popular 1931 book by the
historian James Truslow Adama, who defines it as, that dream of a land in while life should be
better and richer and fuller for everyone. In the decades that followed, the dream became a reality.
Thanks to rapid, widely shared economic growth, nearly all children grew up to achieve the most
basic definition of a better life earning more money and enjoying higher living standards than their
parents had. Learning that us Americans are likely to achieve the American dream shows that it is
all that much more difficult for immigrants and even more so for illegal immigrants. T.C Boyle, in
Tortilla Curtain, attempts to show the separation between the American dream of the community of
immigrants and the American dream of the whites.
In the book, immigrants gather each and every day at a place called the labor exchange in hopes
that someone will need workers in need to cheap labor. Most of the days, the men

Undiagnosed and untreated sexually transmissible infections (STIs) have negative health outcomes

Difference of Marketing Product and Service
The Marketing of product and service are different
A product is normally a thing that sold to people and mostly is tangible. Basically, the marketing
of product is particularly focused on 4P s in marketing mix namely product, price, place, and
promotion (Ehmke Fulton Lusk, n.d.). The marketer needs to analyze the major demand of
customers in a specific market in order to find out a product that can respond the market demand.
Firstly, it is necessary for marketers to focus on the strength as well as eliminate the vulnerabilities
of marketed products in order to improve products to meet customer s demand as much as possible.
Secondly, the price is an important factor in product marketing because of the price must be set to
match with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think product and services marketing are significantly different because of characteristic of itself.
The first characteristic of services marketing is intangibility; it cannot be seen, touched or felt prior
consumption. On the other hands, product marketing is tangible, the customer is able to touch,
feel, taste or smell the product either before or after purchasing. For example, when customers walk
through a restaurant, they might get the food smell from the restaurant but they cannot know how
well of service if they do not buy the menu.
Secondly, products can be stored in order to sell to the customer in the next time whereas services
marketing mostly are unable to be inventoried, they are perishable. Hence, the value of service
always exists at the point when it is required. Therefore, it seems to be very difficult to match
supply with demand in service marketing.
Thirdly, the other difference of product and services marketing is the level of relationship between
the client and provider. Undoubtedly, there is much more personal contact required in services
marketing than product marketing. In case of product marketing, customers and sellers may face
each other just once time when they are dealing products and they might have no chance to see
each other again. However, in services marketing, consumers and service providers may have to see
each other frequently throughout until the contract is ended or until the last thing that consumers

The Beginning And End Of Rape By Louise Erdrich
Minority groups have always been marginalized and bellowed by our current justice system in
society within these groups are women, this leads to questioning the role of the justice system in
perpetuating violence in for example Native American groups. In the U.S. the justice system has
failed to protect these women specifically Native American women from sexual violence, and what
worsens the case is that more often than not their attackers are let off easy or escape punishment
altogether because of federal, state and tribal jurisdictions. In the Round House by Louise Erdrich

President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1st in 1863 announcing that
all people held as slaves shall be free. Lincoln hoped to inspire all blacks and slaves in the
Confederacy even though the proclamation was limited in many ways. It applied only to states that
had seceded from the Union, leaving slavery untouched in the loyal border states. While the
freedom was promised depended upon the Union military victory. The Emancipation Proclamation
did not end slavery in the nation but shaped the reasoning for war. Approximately 200,000 black
soldiers and sailors had fought for freedom and the Union. This confirmed the battle a war for
freedom. For all that the Emancipation Proclamation did for freedom, it is now taken place among
the great documents of human freedom.
This amendment effected our nation in many ways. It negatively affected families and friends
relationships by choosing their own sides of the wars and what they felt were right. Some white
farmers had to sell their farms due to losing slave workers and most whites were unhappy. By
abolishing slavery we were able to make many positive changes as well including the economy.
Many job opportunities opened up for white people due to the lack of slaves while blacks had a

The Effects Of Social And Emotional Development On Children
Social and Emotional is as important as physical and motor development. Physical and motor
development are much easier to observe than social and emotional development but it doe not
dismiss how important this concept is. It is through social and emotional development that a
child self awareness and their ability to regulate body and behavior. Transition is very important
for the success of a child in school and social life. When a child is aware that he or she is
separate from their environment than they can began to process and understand the world and
establish meaningful relationships through their work or play. In order to understand the data
and analysis of the children we must keep in mind that each child is unique in his or her rate of
growth and development and there will be major milestone differences. This paper focuses on the
observations of social and emotional development in children ages 3 years to 8 years old. For my
observations I picked two girls and one boy. My first child is a little boy blonde baby with brown
eyes by the name of Oliver. He was born on January 10th, 2013 and is now 3 years old. Oliver is
very energetic he loves to play outdoors. He is very self reliant and follows instruction when
asked to do a task. Oliver was observed in the three year old classroom at the Child and Family
Research Center (CFRC) on the University of Nevada, Reno Campus. Center (CFRC). Oliver is
right on track compared to other children to developmental norms. My

Chapter 30: The West at the Dawn of the 21st Century~.
The 20th century movement of people:
The Soviet communists forced removal of the Russian peasants and the Nazi s deportations and
execution of European Jews were only the most dramatic examples of this development.
Many moved from the countryside to the cities.
Other vast forced movements due to the government caused millions of Germans Hungarians,
Poles, Ukrainians, Bulgarians, Serbs, Finns, Chechens, Armenians, Greeks, Turks, Balts, and
Bosnian Muslims to be displaced.
This forced displacement transformed parts of Europe.

Toward the Welfare State Society:
During the Cold war era, the nations of Western Europe achieved economic prosperity and
maintained independent, liberal democratic governments.
The end of WWII saw vast constitutional changes in much of Western Europe.
The construction of stable, liberal, democratic political frameworks became a major goal of their
postwar political leaders, as well as of the U.S.
The Great Depression had shown that democracy requires a social and economic base, as well as a
political structure.
Most Europeans came to believe that governments ought to ensure economic prosperity and social
security.
Christian Democratic Parties:
Except for the British Labor Party, the vehicles of the new postwar policies were not, as might have
been expected, the democratic socialist parties.
Outside Scandinavia, those parties generally did not prosper after the onset of the Cold war, they
were oppressed by communists and conservatives.
Rather, various Christian democratic parties introduced the new policies.
The postwar C.D Ps of Germany, France, Austria and Italy were progressive and welcomed non
Catholic members.
Democracy, social reform, economic growth, and anticommunism were their hallmark.
The events of war years largely determined the political leadership of the postwar decade.
After 1947, however, in a policy that U.S naturally favored, communists were systematically
excluded from

The Theme Of Democracy In Walt Whitman s Song Of Myself
Heming Chen
American Literature
Ms. Crowl
1 December, 2017
I Could Be You
The word democracy has its roots in the ancient Greek combination of dД“mos, meaning the
people, and kratГa, meaning power or rule: literally translating as the rule or power of the people .
To simplify the term further, Democracyis an arrangement in which individuals have similar
equality in power. First conceptualized and adopted by the Athenians in fifth century B.C,
democracy has made itself to be known as a powerful and popular government model today, in use
by over 60% of modern day countries. Walt Whitmanutilizes the theme of democracy in his poem,
Song of Myself, not only encouraging it as a system, but also as a way of life, seeking unity in all.
Although Whitman uses the seemingly singular pronoun I in his poems, he is not using the
pronoun to signify only himself but also the rest of humanity as a unified entity. Whitman opens
his poem with the words I celebrate myself, and sing myself, / And what I assume you shall
assume, / For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you (1 3). The first line, its meaning
initially seeming rather cryptic, becomes more discernable once the universal I is employed. It then
becomes evident that Whitman is intending his poem to be a celebration of humankind.
Interestingly enough, the usage of sing in such context almost brings the reader back again to the
classics, reminiscent of the epics of old. While all definitions of assume apply for the

Have you ever felt so overworked that it may be affecting the quality of the outcome? In today s
day and age of our American judicial system, most would agree our judges are overworked. The
federal judges of the court system handle a vast number of court cases each year in the United
States. It has become directionally proportional between the growing populations, the increase in
crime, in turn leading to more cases. There should be a dramatic addition of judges within the
federal court system to lower the workload of the justices. From the signing of the U.S. Constitution

It has been an ongoing struggle for the courts to keep up with the workload. The fact that there
has been talk and discussion about resolutions; this may be the first step to resolving the
problem. In the beginning days of our judicial system, as said before, a judge s caseload seemed
to be reasonable. It was not until the last few decades where the workload skyrocketed. In civil
cases alone from the 1940s through the mid 1990s, the caseload increased nearly 580 percent. To
emphasize the point, bankruptcy cases within the same time frame had increased over 1500
percent. There is no question that the ratio between cases and judges has become overwhelming.
During the 1940s the comparisons between civil and criminal cases filed were parallel. However in
the next few decades, civil cases rose slightly over the criminal, but then another issue began. Even
though with fast growing civil filings, the criminal cases were prone to take much more time

terms as one vast single market where demand drove up prices and productivity stimulated trade

Who Is Pierre Auguste Renoir La Promenade
Although La Promenade was not the title given to this painting by Renoir, this painting is partially
a tribute to previous artists whom Renoir tremendously esteemed. Pierre Auguste Renoir was born
on February 25, 1841 in France. Renoir lived during the Impressionist movement, which was a
French art movement from the 1850 s till around 1900. He studied under a man named Charles

However, the man only has little pieces of sunlight streaming down on him. Dissimilar to the
man, however, the path is well lit and illuminated by sunlight. This leads our attention to the path
that the man enjoins the woman to follow. This playful contrast between well illuminated
subjects, and poorly lit subjects is enhanced further by the shade covering the man s face, and
the almost cartoonish depiction of his face. Renoir acknowledged no rules, and did not set limits
on his capability to extemporize. Renoir s work was a paradox. While he painted scenes that
were not generally painted by fine artists such as himself, he employed oil painting, which was
associated with the world of fine art. From the statements about Renoir that did survive about his
personal practices and conduct, it is sufficiently shown that he resolvedly rejected the idea of
yielding to common social standards. The span of different various social and artistic viewpoints
that Renoir embraced affirms his rejection to be stereotyped. Unfortunately, Pierre Auguste Renoir
died on December 3, 1919. He lived to see the post impressionism era, fauvism and expressionism,
cubism, and more. Even when

Periodontal Disease Case Studies
During your biannual dental checkup and cleaning, your dental hygienist or dentist will perform a
periodontal examination to determine if you have periodontal disease.
The Periodontal Examination
A small, specially designed instrument (periodontal probe) is used to measure the space (sulcus)
between each tooth and its gum. A healthy sulcus depth measures no more than 3 millimeters and
will not bleed. If an individual has periodontal disease and neglects to seek treatment, the pockets
between the teeth, and gums usually deepen.
The 3 Stages of Periodontal Disease
Tooth mobility and sulcus depth, in conjunction with the amount of inflammation and/or bleeding
an individual is experiencing, determines which stage of periodontal disease he or she has.
Stage One: Gingivitis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, the teeth have lost a substantial amount of support and, unless treatment is sought, the
affected teeth may be lost. Furthermore, widespread moderate to severe bone loss may be seen.
Treatment
The periodontal treatment that Dr. Alina de la Torre recommends depends on the stage of the
disease. If the disease is caught during the first stage (gingivitis) and no damage has occurred,
Dr. de la Torre will most likely recommend one or two regular cleanings. If the disease has
progressed to stage two or three, a deep cleaning will be recommended. If the pockets neglect to
heal, periodontal surgery to reduce the pocket depths may be necessary.

Milky Way Compare And Contrast
In about 4 billion years, the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies will collide. The two
neighbouring galaxies are located in a collection of other galaxies acknowledged as the local
group. This group contains more than 50 galaxies, with a majority of them being dwarf galaxies.
The largest and most massive of galaxies are the Milky Way, Andromeda, and the Triangulum
galaxy. All three of these have a gathering of satellite galaxies surrounding them. Just like how
planets orbit around the sun, these smaller galaxies contain billions of stars and orbit around the
galaxy s center. The satellite galaxies orbit these larger galaxies due to the great gravitational
attraction the larger galaxies emit.
The Milky Way galaxy has an assortment of approximately 30 satellite galaxies which include

The Pax Roman An Unprecedented Time Of History

This could explain why a man, Jesus, was feared when he started to challenge the status quot.
Jesus did not set out to create a new religion, he set out to fix what he saw wrong with Judaism at
the time. Jesus moved his teachings from Herod s land, who was a puppet of Rome, to Pontius
Pilate s lands, who was a direct Roman ruler, around the time of the Jewish holiday Passover.
Religion and politics often intertwined under Rome which made Passover a very politically and
religiously charged event; Jesus of Nazareth arrives to this event preaching of a coming Kingdom
of God which was the equivalent of shouting fire in a crowded room (Video Part I). At this point,
to most people, Jesus sounds like an Essen, one who preached of a coming apocalypse, and the
crowd is understandably getting antsy. In addition to the preaching Jesus did, he also stormed into
the Temple and overturned vendor s tables, driving them out from the house of worship. Seeing that
religion and politics were so closely intertwined, Pontius Pilate saw this as an attack aimed towards
the Roman Empire, which was treason. Judaism was not an official state religion of Rome at the

Society Of The Spectacle Analysis
The Society of the Spectacle examines the everyday manifestation of capitalist driven agendas.
The book Society of the Spectacle was written around the time that the Vietnam War was going
on and in fact it is argued that the world had been overtaken by the notion of spectacle. In the
book Debord describes what the spectacle is comprises of through multiple approach and
examples that illustrate how the vase outlets in society consumer the public mindset. According
to Debord, The whole Life of those societies in which modern conditions of production prevail
presents itself as an immense accumulations of spectacles. All that once was directly lived has
become mere representations (Debord 12). Here Debord is making the connection as to how
things are now summed up in society. Things that were once directly lived are now mere
representation of what they were in the past. Thus, this leads to the conclusion that the media and
other outlets have affected the reality of those living in this world that now is becoming a
spectacle of what society wants rather than what the society actually is itself. The society of the
spectacle is simply is an equation that equals and blindside solution to what the majority of
authority wants the public sector to know. The life expectation of the world has been design to
enmity the images and major media portrayals. Reality now is becoming a reflection of what the
digital media enforces upon its viewers. Debord goes on to say The spectacle is not

The On The Nature Of Things
On the Nature of Things, known also by its original Latin title De Rerum Natura, is a 1st century
B.C. poem written by the Roman poet and philosopher Titus Lucretius Carus. The poem was written
with the purpose of explaining the philosophy of the ancient Greek philosopher, Epicurus, to the
common Roman audience of the time. Lucretiuswas born c. 99 B.C. and died around 55 B.C.
Lucretius was a follower of Epicureanism. This philosophy sought to refute myth and legends that
gods were responsible for the workings and nature of the world. In Lucretius s On the Nature of
Things, he attempts to explain this philosophy to a common audience by stating that the gods do

The first of such is that nothing is made of nothing (Book 1, line 150). Proof that all things
require fixed origins or seeds comes from Lucretius explaining that ...if things came from
nothing, any kind of creature could then be born from anything, with no need of seeds. (Book 1,
lines 159 160). The next principle Lucretius discusses is Nature resolves all things into
component atoms, and never reduces them to nothing; (Book 1, lines 215 216). Thus, the second
principle is that nothing is resolved into nothing, otherwise, all matter would be destroyed at any
moment and the world will be unable to replenish itself in any manner (Book 1, lines 218 233).
Lucretius posits that Nature always recreates one thing from another, and nothing can be born
save by another s death (Book 1, lines 263 264). Following this, Lucretius moves on to argue the
existence of microscopic particles that cannot be seen with the naked eye (Book 1, line 267). He
calls these particles atoms and he infers their existence, based on the presence of several common
natural phenomena such as the wind, scent, heat, cold, sound, moisture, and even growth and decay
(Book 1, lines 271 327). In addition to the existence of atoms, Lucretius posits the existence of void

The Signs Of Mania And Depression
Just being aware of the signs of mania and depression can significantly help a loved one who
suffers from bipolar. Knowing what to do in these situations is key, and being supportive goes a
long way. In violent situations, the bipolar individual might need to be medicated or sedated.
Jamison speaks frankly about violent outbursts she s had throughout her life and within her
relationships. Both my manias and depressions had violent sides to them. Violence, especially if
you re a woman, is not something spoken about with ease. Being wildly out of control physically
assaultive, screaming insanely at the top of ones lungs, running frenetically with no purpose or
limit, or impulsively trying to leap from cars is frightening to others and unspeakably terrifying
to oneself. In blind manic rages I have done all of these things, at one time or another, and some
of them repeatedly; I remain acutely aware of how difficult it is to control or understand such
behaviors, much less explain them to others. (Jamison 120). A popular show currently on
television that depicts a realistic and accurate account of bipolar disorder is Homeland. The
award winning Showtime cable TV series starring Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, a CIA agent

Far East, but also accurately depicts mental illness as it occurs in real life. // Her character portrays

Shades of a White Man
What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving
how express and admirable, in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god.
(Shakespeare) Humans were born pure, humble and humane. Politics, science, conflicts and the
innate desire for dominance change who we are, and who we ultimately aspire to be. The
culture we are born into, too, affects who we are in a rather dramatic way; it contributes
significantly in writing the script of a person s life. George Orwell was born into a culture of
white men, a culture that believes in dominance and superiority, a culture that steps on whoever
stands in its way. Imperialism was that culture; the culture that Orwell was influenced by, and
suffered from. From my perspective, I believe that even though George Orwell claimed that he
was against the imperialist, British culture; I was all for the Burmese and against their
oppressors, the British (Orwell, Shooting an Elephant, par. 2), he was an imperialist in disguise,
and had always been one. He was a unique imperialist, one who had morals and ethical
obligations, which seemingly resulted in his lifelong misery, since it would not naturally align
with the culture he belongs to. Orwell was not a perfect white man, yet he was one. Imperialism
is a state of mind, a certain way of looking at people and life. The imperialist culture is a selfish

This also provides flexibility in the analysis of the responses. On the other hand, standardized
questionnaire items often represent the least common denominator in assessing people s attitudes,
orientations, circumstances, and experiences. By designing questions that will be appropriate for
all respondents, it is possible to miss what is most appropriate to many of the respondents (Babbie,
1992). Some advantages of the self administered survey are: Low cost. Extensive training is not
required to administer the survey. Processing and analysis are usually simpler and cheaper than for
other methods. The reduction in bias error. The questionnaire reduces the bias that might result
from personal characteristics of interviewers and/or their interviewing skills. Greater anonymity,
absence of an interviewer provides greater anonymity for the respondent. This is especially helpful
when the survey deals with sensitive issues such as questions about involvement in a gang, because
respondents are more likely to respond to sensitive questions when they are not face to face with an
interviewer. Some of the disadvantages are: Requires simple questions. The questions must be
straightforward enough to be comprehended solely on the basis of printed instructions and
definitions. No opportunity for probing. The answers must be accepted as final. Researchers have

Write An Essay On My Papaw
My Papaw, Ronald Christie Smith has inspired strength and in almost everyone he meets.
Whether it be helping around in a lower class house as a kid, working for his family after his father
s death, or even raising a family of six at such a young age, Ron has always been a major
stronghold for his family.
Ronald Ron/Ronnie Smith was born on March 26th, 1936. As a kid, Ronnie partook in many
activities outside such as hide and seek and nurse and Doctor with his only neighborhood friend.
On rainy days he would play Chinese checkers and play with a little metal car he still has today.
He went through elementary school with no thought of what he was doing or studying. Ron
dedicated his life to Christ at twelve years old and remembers going to church every Sunday and
Wednesday for as long as he can remember.
As a kid, Ron s economic situation was in the lower class system. As he says, we were dirt poor
but we didn t know it. He lived in a house under 1500ft2 with a dad that was a barber for men s
hair, and a mom who cooked, cleaned, and ironed in the house. Although his situation was a little
less than fortunate, Ronnie still got 6 10 gifts for his birthday and Christmas each, but he did
chores throughout the year to make up for it like walking the dog and taking out the trash. He ...

him. Ronald can assuredly say that he was impacted in his adult life first and foremost by raising
four children, and secondly by the success of his own business and coming in contact with such

Ticketmaster Essay
#1) How did Ticketmaster s move toward greater transparency help its standing with customers? In
what ways might transparency be potentially detrimental?
When Nathan Hubbard, the CEO of Ticketmaster took over the company, he immediately noticed
that there was a negative press regarding Ticketmaster and how the company was conducting
business. Mr. Hubbard noticed that the main problem with the company was that the customers as
well as the artists were unhappy. Mr. Hubbard directed his main focus on customersatisfaction in
order to be able to keep its customers. Mr. Hubbard, Stanford MBA educated CEO used Customer

How has this helped the company? How might it have harmed it?
When the CEO of Ticketmaster decided to change the company s vision to more customer
friendly, it gained the customers trust. The customers, venue organizers and artists saw that
Ticketmaster s management was willing to listen what they have to say and were open to make
changes in order to make it better for everyone and increase profits as well as ticket sales. One of
the biggest change that Ticketmaster did is to provide an interactive seating chart which allowed
customers to pick their own seats instead of the best available seats picked by Ticketmaster.
Another change that the company made was that the customers were allowed to pay for the
tickets and print at the same time without any fees. In addition to that, Ticketmaster started not
charging promoters and venue owners any fees when they were trying to promote the concert,
games or theatrical venues. This was a risky move on Ticketmaster s part; however, it paid off at
the end based on an increased sales of tickets, and more artists started doing business with them.
Moreover, Ticketmaster started alerting Facebook friends of the customers who are going to what
show, which encouraged more people to purchase their tickets and go see whatever show their
friends were going to see.

Learning Disability Essay
In the United States today, there are over fifty one million disabled adults and children. Throughout
our nation s history, we have not allowed the best treatment and care for these numerous citizens.
But, in the recent past, the government has passed laws, made exceptions, and thoroughly tried to
provide accommodations to these people with special needs. While this is true, America, as a
whole, still views this group as strange or different. Even though this is exceptionally normal, it is
not correct. The United States needs to be opened up to the truth about their fellow American
citizens. The people of America ought to understand that these disabilities affect not only those who
are disabled, but that it affects the family and friends... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The amount of functional hearing varies greatly from person to person. While it may seem that
being completely deaf is the only hearing disability, any sort of hearing loss is seen as impairment.

Observation On A Restaurant
On October 15, 2017 at approximately 10 AM, I woke up to go to Freddie s Restaurant to start
my observations. It was a nice morning, about 50 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze. I hopped
into my Chevy truck to head to the restaurant. There were cars zipping around the town because
church had just gotten let out, and families were going to get food somewhere.
Through my personal experiences, I know that Freddie s is a popular place to go on a Sunday. The
owner s daughter, Stephanie Cannon, is my middle brother s girlfriend (also my broker), and she
worked at the restaurant on its busiest days. She explained to me that many families enjoy
gathering at Freddie s for a traditional breakfast after their church service is finished. She also
noted that Freddie s offers some of the best food for a great price. On certain Sundays, there is a
breakfast buffet that is extremely popular, and there s a wide variety of food offered at those
buffets. I also know the owners, Mark and Sue Cannon, very well because they are obviously
Stephanie s parents. Our families have been very close ever since I was a little kid, and we ve
eaten at Freddie s many times. During the summer when my brother and Steph are home, we eat
there occasionally. It s nice because we don t even have to pay.
I had to pick up my brother, Derek, and Steph from her house because they wanted to go to
breakfast while I observed. We arrived at the restaurant, and there were a lot of cars parked outside
the restaurant.

Paleo-Indian Culture
During the early years of the Paleo Indian tribes, they exploited a wide variety of exotic plants
and animals. Many of these animals were from the Ice Age. This research paper will discuss what
kinds of tools they used for growing crops, hunting big animals like the woolly mammoth and the
giant ground sloth and what they used them for besides a source of food. In 13,000 bc the first
communities in the Americaswere established and the first group of people that established tribes
were the Paleo Indians. At this point in time the Ice Age was coming to an end, but there were still
huge animals that existed and were hunted by the Paleo Indians. The tools that they used to hunt
big animals like the woolly mammothwere long spears with a sharp end on it made out stone or...

However, even with them being able to strike at safe distances away, they still weren t
completely safe because the woolly mammoth and the giant sloth were thought to be highly
aggressive. When they did catch their food like a woolly mammoth they would use the
mammoths body parts for other uses besides food. One thing they would use them for is build
their huts and tents out of the mammoths massive bones to make the structure of the tent and
would have most likely used the skin and fur as the roofs. The fur would have also been used to
make clothing too. Other bones would have been used to make tools for digging or weapons for
hunting (Wikipedia, Woolly Mammoth, n.d.). One of the tips that were used for spears was called
the clovis point. The clovis point was the most common arrowhead that was used on spears and
other sharp tools and weapons that were used for hunting. However, there were different clovis
points from different tribes and groups of Native Americans across the continents of North, Central
and South America, but all

Ice Melting Experiment and Analysis
Objective
The objective of this experiment is to test the melting point of ice against different variables. I will
use a control of ice against air and test this next to ice in water, sugar on ice, salt on ice and
Baking Soda on ice. By measuring the melting time of each element on an ice cube I will be able to
tell which element affects ice s melting properties at what rate.

* Record your results * Measure the remaining mass of the ice cubes, and record your results. *
Repeat this test three times for each substance used.
Reasoning
The purpose of this experiment is to measure the reaction of the ice melting when exposed to
another solid element. The environment is a kitchen with a stable temperature and testing space.
Repeating the tests three times will provide different data which will then be averaged for each
element. For each test, calculate the percentage of the ice cube melted by [mass of melt water
/initial mass of ice cube] x 100.
Sequence of Events
I started with controlling my experiment environment. It was in a still kitchen, with no appliances
running to minimize humidity and control the room temperature. I then broke my ice cube tray and
finding cubes that weight .10grams. I set up my timer for each station. I put three .10gram ice
cubes in a identical contained on top of the pre measured ВЅ teaspoon of sugar, salt and baking
soda, then I hit start on the timer. When the timer hit 15 minutes I picked up each ice cube and put
it on another dry identical dish. I then measured the melted liquid, followed by measuring the
melted ice cube alone. I repeated this three times to get an average.

Summary Of The Naked Citadel
Confirmation bias is the phenomenon of choosing to accept information that appeals to one s
beliefs. It blinds oneself from another s perspective. It is a cycle that reflects people s lack of
open mindedness. Most Democrats grow up in liberal environments while most Republicans
grow up in conservative environments. These environments affect their political stances, as well
as other beliefs and ideals they have. They then share their beliefs and ideals to those around
them and future generations. These beliefs and ideals we acquire blind us from seeing and
understanding another s perspective. In The Naked Citadel, the admission of a female named
Shannon Faulkner into The Citadel, an all male military college, followed by the immediate
retraction of the admission lead Susan Faludi to investigate the college. After observing the
mannerisms of the cadets in the college, Faludi exposes their cruel and sexist ideals in an effort
to push her readers to have similar impressions of The Citadel, a sexist college known for its
intense hazing. In another essay, Selections from Losing Matt Shepard, Beth Loffreda describes the
media filled aftermath of a young gay male was beaten and left for dead by two of the town s
residents. What is not directly stated, yet clearly present, are the authors viewpoint on the matters.
Both authors try manipulating their point of views into the minds of their readers. Media persuades
the public to pay attention to the stories they want to portray,

His messages are passed on utilizing beautiful methods, for example, symbolism, structure and humor, uncovering a perplexing side of the sonnet and in addition accomplishing a general cheerful impact. Since the fence is imperative to the neighbor, he treats the matter of repairing it genuinely. Symbolism is utilized to depict the neighbor s state of mind, showing a somewhat dismal, yet humorous portrayal of him moving the stones and repairing the fence. The storyteller sees the willfulness in his neighbor, and uses the likeness like an old stone savage to contrast the him with a stone age man who moves in dimness (lines 40, 41), that is, set in his ways, and who is probably not going to change his perspectives. The form of the Mending Wall is a long one stanza sonnet. It is composed in clear verse and contains an account like style. Redundancy is utilized as a method to accentuate the primary thoughts. The line something there is that doesn t love a divider has been rehashed in line thirty five with another significance. It alludes to the states of mind of the narrator towards the wall the narrator does not love the wall and needs it down while the something said

  • 5. Examples Of Animals In Animal Farm In the novel, all social classes of animals are discontented because of the treatment they get from their owner, Mr. Jones. On the farm, Jones sets them [the animals] to work to grow and gather the resources on the farm. They also breed more animals, which are then taken away. Therefore, he gives back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving, and he keeps the rest for himself (8). Jones cares about what he makes from the farm, meaning that the animalsare not well cared for because he is only concerned about himself. The animals are left with barely anything after giving Jones so much. All the animals are then miserable with their lives. He knows though that no animal escapes the cruel knife in the end (8 9). Being on the farm for a while, Major is able to understand the circumstances of living as a farm animal. He knows what happens to animals as they get older, either taken away or killed because of age. Thus, the animals listen to what Major has to say because he is the most wise out of all of them, which is how they learn about the importance of being treated fairly as farm animals. Understanding what unfair treatment the animals are under, all the animals are discontented with their owner, and know that they eventually need to start to fight for their ... He was introduced a lot of inventions by Theuth who was known as the god of inventions. Theuth declared that his inventions would be available extensively to Egypt s people. One of the Theuth s inventions was writing and he believed that it can help Egyptians to get better with their wisdom and memory. Whereas Thamus contradicted his approach and said this invention can stop people to practice their memory and they can get forgetful and can be dependent on this invention. It means that someone in the society whoever controls new technology will have all that power and this could create disruptance in the society. Harold Innis used the term Knowledge Monopolies in his book The Bias of Communication which also conveys the same message. In this article, Author gave an example of Television that tells that TV has become very important part for many people s life and it can gradually end the profession of teaching. One more example, he mentioned in his article was about computer technology that has made a group of people more powerful than those people whose privacy is risked because of them. This is all because of technology which remained the same but has different effects in different ways. • 8. Incident Command System Analysis The utilization of the Incident Command System (ICS) in the United States may at first glance appear to be an overwhelming, and complicated system of hazard management. On the contrary, for most responders with military, law enforcement, or fire service background, ICS closely conforms to the principles of command structure with which they are familiar. Applying strict command structure, along with standardized response training leads to higher probabilities of successful outcomes in the face of the most chaotic emergencies. Large scale emergency responses like 9/11 are repeatedly critiqued, often from afar, sometimes correctly, but sometimes unfairly. Training of individual responders in the use of PPE, hazardous material recognition, shielding tactics, or establishing an immediate perimeter can often increase survivability and mission success. The use of two man tactics to offensively isolate a terrorist, instead of waiting for a larger tactical unit response can be effective in limiting the scope of violent attacks. The use of technologies including: video surveillance, explosive detection, infrared viewing, thermal imaging, drones, and robotics are examples of advantageous equipment that when used correctly can positively alter response ability. The use of cross training of responder disciplines, such as police receiving fire or ems training will lead to more capabilities and understanding by those first on scene. Approximately half of individuals that work in law enforcement, fire, rescue, emergency medical, and related fields hold a second job in a similar emergency response agency (Newman, and Clark, 2008). • 9. The Future For Sport Management Introduction The future for sport management in Australia appears prosperous. Over the years, Australia has managed to develop an international reputation for sporting excellence through its national team performances and the expansion of its sports systems (Daly, 1991; ASC, 1998; Shilbury Kellett, 2011). The country has managed to host some of the greatest sporting events, notably the Olympic games, the Rugby World Cup, the Cricket World Cup, with aspirations to bring the Football (soccer) World Cup to Australia in 2018 (ASC, 2011). International sporting events of this scale are capable of generating considerable revenue for its sport industry, as well as the country s economy (i.e. tourism). The Australian sport industry has become a multi billion dollar enterprise (ABS, 2013), and the role of sport management has been intensified as a result of this. Australian Sport Systems Government Systems The support of government for sport has been increasing over the last thirty years, and is now on the political agenda of the Australian government (Shilbury Kellett, 2011). As Australian sport and its industry began to grow and develop further and further, sport programs were introduced in the sport system, notably the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). As a result of this, the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) was created in order to coordinate sport on the government s behalf (Shilbury Kellett, 2011). I have watched the shows since I was a little girl, I remember watching them with my mother at a young age and now I watch them with my friends. I have not watched every season, but I have watched a plenty. Many people do watch the show for entertainment or so they believe, but studies have shown that it perpetrates the way that people think about loveand life. Although, they do get entertainment from it, often people will leave the show feeling entertained, amused, cheered up, or stimulated. (ARTICLE) Some background information on the show, The Bachelorette; it is based off of the show The Bachelor. The concept of the show centers around one woman finding love within a group of 25 suitors. A season typically only lasts 7 or 8 episodes, which is normally filmed over a span of 3 months. The first episode is primarily introducing the different men to the woman, with her only learning their names and a few things about each of them. Throughout the middle of the season, she will go on group dates and individual dates with all of the men. Each week she gives out roses to the men that she would like to keep around and further develop relationships with. In the last episode, there are 2 men remaining. • 12. Racism In Benito Cereno The ignorance of Captain Delano in Benito Cereno can be accredited to his racist convictions that guide his perception of the ship s perilous situation. However, is Delano at fault for his racism? When rethinking the racism in Benito Cereno under the context of Althusser s theories on ideology, racism is an ideologyforcibly implemented on the subject through the social institution of slavery. Delano s actions and thoughts throughout Benito Cereno prove that his racismis a result of a socially imposed ideology and challenge the modern ideals of racism that place the blame for racist attitudes entirely on the racist subject. Delano is the subject of a racist ideology and has been forced into that ideology through the social apparatus of slavery A fundamental aspect of ideology is that an ideology always exists in an apparatus, and its practices, or practice. The existence is material (Althusser 695). The ideology of racism uses the institution of slavery as an apparatus for implementing racism. Slavery was a socially imposed practice that trained those who were enslaving others to accept the reality and need for this given institution. This ideology forced people into perceiving Africans as wild people who lacked civility, education, and intelligence as a whole. However, as is the function of ideology, the individual being influenced lacks the control to escape from the cyclical nature of the idea being enforced. • 13. Symbols Of Death In Halloween Symbols of death have been commonplace in western cultures since their inception. However, the way in which these symbols are interpreted have gone through significant changes as the human relationship to death has progressed. This relationship has been fundamentally shaped by interactions with disease, war, and varying levels of technology, which influences the amount of deathindividuals encounter throughout their lives. This intersectionality of causal factors, symbolism, and interpretation of the human condition, is continually illustrated through different cultural means, especially art and dГ©cor and holidays. In the post war to contemporary period, Death has been largely removed from Western cultures, particularly North America and Europe, as technological advancements, and the sanitization of the public gaze have occurred. However, an indirect relationship to death still persists through cultural interactions with Halloween. Analysis of the spaces in which death is opening described, visualized, and indirectly interacted, need to occur to create a larger understanding the roots of western cultural practices, and to understand the problematic aspects of the spectacle of death through commodification. Within the historical trajectory of Halloween the connections to death and human mortality are abundantly apparent. Candido was badly injured, but accepted twenty dollars from Delaney and ended up going their own ways. Delaney, his wife, and stepson, Jordan, live their routine life in a neighborhood called Arroyo Blanco. This incident left Candido battered and close to death. To America, the American dream was not living in a huge, fancy house, but to have a house, a yard, maybe a TV and a car too nothing fancy, no palaces like the gringos built just four walls and a roof (Boyle 29). The typical immigrant does not come to American with the intentions of becoming wealthy. They come to American to have a better opportunity in life. To be able to own a home, work and have a family. According to The New York Times, The phrase American dream was invented during the Great Depression. It comes from a popular 1931 book by the historian James Truslow Adama, who defines it as, that dream of a land in while life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone. In the decades that followed, the dream became a reality. Thanks to rapid, widely shared economic growth, nearly all children grew up to achieve the most basic definition of a better life earning more money and enjoying higher living standards than their parents had. Learning that us Americans are likely to achieve the American dream shows that it is all that much more difficult for immigrants and even more so for illegal immigrants. T.C Boyle, in Tortilla Curtain, attempts to show the separation between the American dream of the community of immigrants and the American dream of the whites. In the book, immigrants gather each and every day at a place called the labor exchange in hopes that someone will need workers in need to cheap labor. Most of the days, the men ... Undiagnosed and untreated sexually transmissible infections (STIs) have negative health outcomes for both individuals involved and the community (Strobel amp; Ward 2012). Basically, the marketing of product is particularly focused on 4P s in marketing mix namely product, price, place, and promotion (Ehmke Fulton Lusk, n.d.). The marketer needs to analyze the major demand of customers in a specific market in order to find out a product that can respond the market demand. Firstly, it is necessary for marketers to focus on the strength as well as eliminate the vulnerabilities of marketed products in order to improve products to meet customer s demand as much as possible. I think product and services marketing are significantly different because of characteristic of itself. The first characteristic of services marketing is intangibility; it cannot be seen, touched or felt prior consumption. On the other hands, product marketing is tangible, the customer is able to touch, feel, taste or smell the product either before or after purchasing. For example, when customers walk through a restaurant, they might get the food smell from the restaurant but they cannot know how well of service if they do not buy the menu. Secondly, products can be stored in order to sell to the customer in the next time whereas services marketing mostly are unable to be inventoried, they are perishable. Hence, the value of service always exists at the point when it is required. Therefore, it seems to be very difficult to match supply with demand in service marketing. Thirdly, the other difference of product and services marketing is the level of relationship between the client and provider. Undoubtedly, there is much more personal contact required in services marketing than product marketing. In case of product marketing, customers and sellers may face each other just once time when they are dealing products and they might have no chance to see each other again. However, in services marketing, consumers and service providers may have to see each other frequently throughout until the contract is ended or until the last thing that consumers ... The Theme Of Democracy In Walt Whitman s Song Of Myself Heming Chen American Literature Ms. Crowl 1 December, 2017 I Could Be You The word democracy has its roots in the ancient Greek combination of dД“mos, meaning the people, and kratГa, meaning power or rule: literally translating as the rule or power of the people . To simplify the term further, Democracyis an arrangement in which individuals have similar equality in power. First conceptualized and adopted by the Athenians in fifth century B.C, democracy has made itself to be known as a powerful and popular government model today, in use by over 60% of modern day countries. Walt Whitmanutilizes the theme of democracy in his poem, Song of Myself, not only encouraging it as a system, but also as a way of life, seeking unity in all. Although Whitman uses the seemingly singular pronoun I in his poems, he is not using the pronoun to signify only himself but also the rest of humanity as a unified entity. Whitman opens his poem with the words I celebrate myself, and sing myself, / And what I assume you shall assume, / For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you (1 3). The first line, its meaning initially seeming rather cryptic, becomes more discernable once the universal I is employed. It then becomes evident that Whitman is intending his poem to be a celebration of humankind. Interestingly enough, the usage of sing in such context almost brings the reader back again to the classics, reminiscent of the epics of old. While all definitions of assume apply for the ... • 36. The Pax Roman An Unprecedented Time Of History For Rome the Pax Romana was an unprecedented time in history. For once there was relative peace in the empire, for the rich at least. While there was peace from enemy invaders there was internal conflict where the poor were being brutalized by the government and the rich, making Rome a hotbed for political activity. Jesus Christ did not set out to create a new religion, or to even challenge Roman authority but that is what he did and for that he was executed. Jesus execution inadvertently created the branch of religion we know as Christianitywhich would be Rome s greatest internal threat. At the time of Jesus birth Rome was going through a time of great peace called the Pax Romana , or Roman Peace. This Pax Romana,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This could explain why a man, Jesus, was feared when he started to challenge the status quot. Jesus did not set out to create a new religion, he set out to fix what he saw wrong with Judaism at the time. Jesus moved his teachings from Herod s land, who was a puppet of Rome, to Pontius Pilate s lands, who was a direct Roman ruler, around the time of the Jewish holiday Passover. Religion and politics often intertwined under Rome which made Passover a very politically and religiously charged event; Jesus of Nazareth arrives to this event preaching of a coming Kingdom of God which was the equivalent of shouting fire in a crowded room (Video Part I). At this point, to most people, Jesus sounds like an Essen, one who preached of a coming apocalypse, and the crowd is understandably getting antsy. In addition to the preaching Jesus did, he also stormed into the Temple and overturned vendor s tables, driving them out from the house of worship. Seeing that religion and politics were so closely intertwined, Pontius Pilate saw this as an attack aimed towards the Roman Empire, which was treason. The book Society of the Spectacle was written around the time that the Vietnam War was going on and in fact it is argued that the world had been overtaken by the notion of spectacle. In the book Debord describes what the spectacle is comprises of through multiple approach and examples that illustrate how the vase outlets in society consumer the public mindset. According to Debord, The whole Life of those societies in which modern conditions of production prevail presents itself as an immense accumulations of spectacles. All that once was directly lived has become mere representations (Debord 12). Here Debord is making the connection as to how things are now summed up in society. Things that were once directly lived are now mere representation of what they were in the past. Thus, this leads to the conclusion that the media and other outlets have affected the reality of those living in this world that now is becoming a spectacle of what society wants rather than what the society actually is itself. The society of the spectacle is simply is an equation that equals and blindside solution to what the majority of authority wants the public sector to know. The life expectation of the world has been design to enmity the images and major media portrayals. Reality now is becoming a reflection of what the digital media enforces upon its viewers. • 39. The On The Nature Of Things On the Nature of Things, known also by its original Latin title De Rerum Natura, is a 1st century B.C. poem written by the Roman poet and philosopher Titus Lucretius Carus. The poem was written with the purpose of explaining the philosophy of the ancient Greek philosopher, Epicurus, to the common Roman audience of the time. Lucretiuswas born c. 99 B.C. and died around 55 B.C. Lucretius was a follower of Epicureanism. This philosophy sought to refute myth and legends that gods were responsible for the workings and nature of the world. In Lucretius s On the Nature of Things, he attempts to explain this philosophy to a common audience by stating that the gods do not interfere in the world and that everything that occurs in nature can be... Proof that all things require fixed origins or seeds comes from Lucretius explaining that ...if things came from nothing, any kind of creature could then be born from anything, with no need of seeds. (Book 1, lines 159 160). The next principle Lucretius discusses is Nature resolves all things into component atoms, and never reduces them to nothing; (Book 1, lines 215 216). Thus, the second principle is that nothing is resolved into nothing, otherwise, all matter would be destroyed at any moment and the world will be unable to replenish itself in any manner (Book 1, lines 218 233). Lucretius posits that Nature always recreates one thing from another, and nothing can be born save by another s death (Book 1, lines 263 264). Following this, Lucretius moves on to argue the existence of microscopic particles that cannot be seen with the naked eye (Book 1, line 267). He calls these particles atoms and he infers their existence, based on the presence of several common natural phenomena such as the wind, scent, heat, cold, sound, moisture, and even growth and decay (Book 1, lines 271 327). Knowing what to do in these situations is key, and being supportive goes a long way. In violent situations, the bipolar individual might need to be medicated or sedated. Jamison speaks frankly about violent outbursts she s had throughout her life and within her relationships. Both my manias and depressions had violent sides to them. Violence, especially if you re a woman, is not something spoken about with ease. Being wildly out of control physically assaultive, screaming insanely at the top of ones lungs, running frenetically with no purpose or limit, or impulsively trying to leap from cars is frightening to others and unspeakably terrifying to oneself. In blind manic rages I have done all of these things, at one time or another, and some of them repeatedly; I remain acutely aware of how difficult it is to control or understand such behaviors, much less explain them to others. (Jamison 120). A popular show currently on television that depicts a realistic and accurate account of bipolar disorder is Homeland. The award winning Showtime cable TV series starring Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, a CIA agent with bipolar disorder, tells a spellbinding story of espionage and counterterrorism in the middle and Far East, but also accurately depicts mental illness as it occurs in real life. // Her character portrays volatility and unpredictability that often ... Shades of a White Man What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and admirable, in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god. (Shakespeare) Humans were born pure, humble and humane. Politics, science, conflicts and the innate desire for dominance change who we are, and who we ultimately aspire to be. The culture we are born into, too, affects who we are in a rather dramatic way; it contributes significantly in writing the script of a person s life. George Orwell was born into a culture of white men, a culture that believes in dominance and superiority, a culture that steps on whoever stands in its way. Imperialism was that culture; the culture that Orwell was influenced by, and suffered from. From my perspective, I believe that even though George Orwell claimed that he was against the imperialist, British culture; I was all for the Burmese and against their oppressors, the British (Orwell, Shooting an Elephant, par. 2), he was an imperialist in disguise, and had always been one. He was a unique imperialist, one who had morals and ethical obligations, which seemingly resulted in his lifelong misery, since it would not naturally align with the culture he belongs to. Orwell was not a perfect white man, yet he was one. Imperialism is a state of mind, a certain way of looking at people and life. One of the biggest change that Ticketmaster did is to provide an interactive seating chart which allowed customers to pick their own seats instead of the best available seats picked by Ticketmaster. Another change that the company made was that the customers were allowed to pay for the tickets and print at the same time without any fees. In addition to that, Ticketmaster started not charging promoters and venue owners any fees when they were trying to promote the concert, games or theatrical venues. This was a risky move on Ticketmaster s part; however, it paid off at the end based on an increased sales of tickets, and more artists started doing business with them.
