The Effects Of Global Warming On Science
Our society relies on science more often than not. If there is a viral outbreak we turn to science to
find a cure, for technological advancements we turn to science, ways to make life healthier and
easier we turn to science. But for some reason we haven t accepted the existence of global
warming, even when science says it is a current and immediate threat. There are plenty of ways to
help alleviate the threat of climate changefrom political to consumer standpoints. Now is the time to
start accepting the facts on the existence of global warmingand start changing our ways. Global
warming or also known as climate change has always been a part of the earth s history. Paleo
climatic and instrumental data had been collected over the last... Show more content on

Volcanoes were one of the biggest contributors of gases to the environment pre humans, which was
one big reason for the climate changes that occurred in that time period. After humans advanced
enough we started the industrial revolution in 1790. With the start of the industrial revolution
massive factories, industries, and machinery were becoming more frequent. We then went on to
create the biggest contributor to the rise of gases which are fossil burning equipment. Add that to
gases being released by landfills, pasture animals, refrigeration and fertilizer, the amount of gases
being released into the atmosphere were exponentially more than what would have naturally
happened. The results of global warming are rising oceans, altered weather patterns, extreme
weather, wildlife endangerment and extinction just to name a few. There are over 111 countries at
the moment who support global warming with the Copenhagen Accord. The Accord states the
involved countries will work on reducing their footprints in order to help alleviate global
warming. Even though IPCC meet every few years to discuss the data collected and give an
updated opinion on the status of global warming, there are many opposing groups that claim it is
merely a hoax. The groups claim that even though the pollution we create exists, it is

Analysis Of Robert Hayden s Frederick Douglas
Robert Hayden has been considered one of America s best African American poets of the
modern era. He did not consider himself to be a black poet but liked to think of himself as an
American poet. He was a first in many ways, including the awards he won, his style of writing,
and the level of success he had even tho he was a negro poet. Robert Hayden was a great poet.
Robert Hayden was born on August 4, 1913 in Detroit Michigan to Asa and Ruth Sheffey. His
birth name was Asa Bundy Sheffey put his name changed to Robert Hayden when he was
adopted because his parents had split up before he was born. His foster parents lived next door to
his biological parents. His foster parents constantly fought in front of him which deeply bothered
him. Like every little boy he wanted to play sports especially baseball... Show more content on

He tells us how in the winter, his father would be up before everyone else to warm up the house
so that they wouldn t be so cold when they got out of bed. Robert was hesitant to come out of his
room because he was afraid of the chronic angers of the house which is referring to how his
foster parents always fought. Their fighting had always deeply troubled him. Hayden wrote
Frederick Douglas because his story was a source of inspiration to him. The poem is about the
struggles of the African Americans during the age of slavery and how they fought through it and
how people like Frederick Douglas will be remembered as nothing more than a fighter and a
symbol to represent how far the black population has come and how their fight is not yet over.
The Middle Passage is about the Africans journey to America where they will be sold into slavery
and how tragic it was. It explains in detail how inhuman and terrible it was. It tells how many of
the Africans died at sea, how disease ran rampant due no sanitation and tight quarters, just in general
how horrible the whole ordeal was. And that was just the

Characteristics Of Medgar Evers
Harold Laski once said, Without equality, I say, there cannot be liberty. Discrimination of race,
gender, and religion has occurred in our world. The African American Civil Rights Movement
lasted fourteen years in which many Africans fought for equality. Within the thousands, Medgar
Evers also stood up for the betterment of society. Harper Lee published another version of a social
protestwith her book: To Kill A Mockingbird in 1960. Atticus, the wise gentleman, portrays
compassion while fighting for his own cause when he defends an African American man named
Tom Robinson. Likewise, Medgar Eversalso fought for a cause in order to reform Mississippiinto a
state where skin color did not dictate a man. Similar to Atticus leadership qualities, Medgar Evers
pivotal involvement during the Civil Rights movement reflected his eminent qualities.
Medgar Evers radiated leadership qualities because he desired a change for racial equality as
Atticus did. Evers heavily encouraged Africans to stand up for themselves in order to stop
injustice in their towns. Since he was the field secretary for the NAACP, his fight for Civil
Rights took place in the state of Mississippi (Ribeiro 5). Over the years, he traveled around his
birth state talking to blacks and trying to give them the courage to challenge racist, white,
Mississippi Laws (Ribeiro 7). His fights for freedom also influenced his perpetual role in the civil
rights movement. Atticus became first to defend an opposite color

Devy Essay
Discussion It is firstly important to note that our gaze dynamics are consistent with random walk
processes. These movements are constant with what could be expected from long tailed LГ©vy
distributions. Our results showed strong evidence for LГ©vy flights during both aesthetics rating
and shape tasks. This makes sense, even in the presence of potentially larger inter individual
differences. Since participants would find the tasks engaging, and would elicit more exploration.
Interestingly our free viewing tasks trended towards H values that were less than 0.5. This indicates
gaze dynamics that were sub diffusive or anti persistent, movements. These types of movements are
more commonly found during fixation the need to keep the gaze... Show more content on

That is, as the task at hand changes, so must the way in which our eyes engage with it. This
further supports the previously proposed fixational exploration continuum model suggested by
Otero Millan. We see consistent changes of scale invariance in gaze dynamics in multiples tasks,
which is consistent with the model. However, with the changes in the Hurst component, it would
be interesting to explore whether the gaze dynamics changes due to task also lie on such a
spectrum. Even with the differences in the H values we observed, only the lower ends of both
sub diffusive and super diffusive scales were seen values were only just above or below 0.5.
Presumably, ranges of values exist far from this point which were not seen in this study. It could be
that the low levels of content in our fractal images, whilst giving us control over our images, could
illicit only weak exploration from the human visual system. Real world scenarios can contain a
multitude of complexity. With different levels of spatial complexity, static and dynamic stimuli,
and attentional/task demands. The aim of this study was to further the investigation of eye
movements. Which is why images were simplified to black and white fractal images with tightly
controlled spatial complexity. The conditions in this trial, whilst abstract, allowed us to observe the
human visual system as it engages with stimuli. Free viewing and judgement tasks are just a few of

An Introductory Class Of Cinema And Cultural Studies
Taking an introductory class to Cinema and Cultural Studies has truly been a remarkable
experience for me. Considering the fact that I am in the Health Science major, it would be highly
unlikely for me to take a class with any relation to cinema or cultural studies. I only enrolled in
this class to fulfill one of my Stony Brook Curriculum requirements, however I absolutely do not
regret my decision at all. Every Monday night I am given an opportunity to watch a film, from
either the twentieth or twenty first century, focusing on issues such as racism, genocide, adultery,
homosexuality, and many more. Whether I had cried my eyes out or laughed nonstop throughout
the movie, I would leave the lecture hall with an even greater appreciation of... Show more content

Something that I believe really took away from this movie would be the editing. The transition
between scenes is quite frankly abrupt and distracting; at the end of several scenes, the entire
screen would intensify to a bloody red color, which forced me to look away because my eyes
hurt from looking at it. Another bad case of editing can be seen more towards the end of the
film. When Francois finds Therese s corpse by the side of the pond, he embraces her in his arms,
with his head on her chest devastated. When I first watched this scene, I thought there was some
sort of glitch with the system because the scene started replaying about ten times. It appears that
Agnes Varda s intention was to make this scene as emotional and dramatic as possible, but when
a clip is replayed constantly it can be misinterpreted as comedic; everyone watching, including
myself, burst out in laughter when we saw this part of the movie. From my perspective, another
flaw in Happiness that made it a second rate film was the plot. I was confused by various parts of
the film and even after the film was finished, I had so many questions left. From just the opening
scenes of this movie, it is quite obvious that Francois and Therese are deeply in love with each
other; often times they will express their love for each other through physical touch and sexual
intercourse. But I

Tuft Of Flowers, And After Apple Picking
A discovery can lead to a change in perspective on life, with a better understanding of the self,
which can form from an individual s experience. These ideas are exemplified through a range of
language techniques, in Robert Frosts poems, Tuft of Flowers and After Apple Picking . Both
create moralistic experiences through challenging responders to acknowledge unplanned
discoveries of the human condition. Ray Bradbury s short story, The Lake, creates a vivid picture
of how childhood can often be hard and misunderstood. Discoveries have the ability to be intensely
meaningful and transformative of one s perspective. There is much to discover from experience and
questions about identity may remain unanswered. The poem, After Apple Picking... Show more

The poem, Tuft of flowers by Robert Frost, examines how the persona s perception of the world is
transformed through discovering and connecting with humanity. The rhyming scheme throughout
the poem, suggesting decisiveness, it s strict AA BB rhyme couplets may allude to friendship
and unity with another. The persona s isolation is demonstrated through the negative
connotations of levelled , a metaphor for the persona s perception of the world and makes a
realisation about a need for fellowship, in a quest for unity for his fellow man. Personification is
used in A leaping tongue of bloom , as though the flowers are speaking to him and providing the
communication that he sought earlier. It represents the collaboration of nature and language,
which previously yielded no reply with the butterfly. The butterfly is wildered which represents
the persona s confusion. However, the emergence of vibrant imagery of a leaping tongue of bloom
metaphorically reflects an optimistic discovery of a possible companion. This alters the speakers
cynical tone as reflected through the shift of a vibrant retrospective tone of I told him from the
heart, whether they work together or apart , which conveys a hopeful and harmonious self
discovery of kinship which provokes a transformation of a speaker s outlook on the work.
Landscape and nature play a large role in his revolutionary moments. Disappointment is seen when
the persona is alone with thoughts and the natural landscape, and the opportunity for introspection
and reflection is evident. The landscape offers redemptive opportunities to the human spirit that go
beyond the material and social world of human activity. Such moments allow re evaluation of his
place in the world and the importance of earlier discoveries. It is through these ordinary experiences
that the persona can

Hertz
1) The dual track process used by Ford to initiate consideration of strategic alternatives affects
the bidding process for Hertz by giving Hertz another plan of attack if other viable sale
opportunities fall through. By obtaining an IPO price as a base for the value of the company,
Ford s strategy would give Hertz other options to retrieve necessary capital, thus reducing the
amount of risk. This strategy would then give Hertz a base bid that would be either equal to or
above the amount of what could be theoretically obtained from an IPO. 2) One way that Hertz
conforms to be an ideal LBO candidate is the proven financial performance and pretax profit the
company has generated since 1967. In addition, from 1985 to 2005, revenues... Show more content

While this may be a fair assumption depending on what the Bidding Group is comfortable with,
there was a wide range used to make the beta estimates. This beta estimate will have the biggest
impact on return because of the effect it has on pricing Hertz assets. 5) Based on our
assumption, we believe that the Mean multiple would be the best measurement for calculating
Hertz Terminal Value. By adding up all of Hertz total value segments: RAC, SPV and HERC,
we concluded that the total enterprise value for Hertz is: 20,764,860,000 billion. That being
said, if deducting the total current debt of both Hertz s segment: RAC and HERC (fleet $
Operating company) $14,768,070,000 billion = we get a Equity value (terminal Value) of
$5,996,790,000 billion. Putting down, $2,300 million at year 0, with zero NPV (cash flows)
until payout at year 5, the calculated IRR for investors is: 21.13%. This IRR is more than the
targeted IRR of 20% that Carlyse expected. Thus, would make this LBO an ideal target. 6) Given
that the IRR is greater than 20%, Carlyse could afford to pay up to $110 million additional to the

The Prevention Of Animal Cruelty Society
Good evening, my name is Tina Alicea and I am the director of The Prevention of Animal Cruelty
Society also known as PACS and we are located at 1006 Intervale Avenue Bronx NY 10457. I can
be contacted at Tina.alicea1@yahoo.com or 347 555 9999. The Prevention of Animal Cruelty
Society (PACS) requests funding to continue educating against animal cruelty. Animal cruelty in
New York is a very significant social issue because animals should have the same right to live and
be unharmed as humans and many New York households own pets. Animal cruelty consists of
numerous kinds of mistreatment such as hunting, factory farming, animal fighting as entertainment
and wearing animals.
The Prevention of Animal Cruelty Society (PACS) aims to advocate, educate, rescue and
improve the quality of life for animals by targeting people who get arrested for animal cruelty,
requiring those individuals to attend a program that instructs them on how to properly care for an
animal and provide shelter for mistreated animals. PACS advocates for animals through public
policy, corporate reforms, and major campaigns to confront national and global cruelties. As the
director of this organization, it is not easy to fix what is damaged. However, with funding and a
team who is as dedicated and passionate about saving animals as their director, there can be major
success in correcting the way the government is being viewed in the eyes of their community.
PACS wants to engage the hearts, hands and minds of the

How Did Bismarck Contribute To The Unification Of Italy
When World War I began, Italy was in the forty third year of its unification. From 1860 until 1871,
the Kingdom of Italy wrangled individual kingdoms across the land into one entity, much to the
shock of its neighbors. The joining forced the rest of Europe to give grudging respect the land of
the Roman Empire. The Kingdom of Italywas just missing the Italian speaking lands of the Alps,
held by the Austrian Hapsburg Empire, and they coveted the land greatly. During his reign,
Bismarck saw the rising tension between Austria Hungary and its new neighboring enemy and
brokered a triple alliance that promised Italy support to take French held territory in and around the
Mediterranean Sea. As nationalism rose in citizens across nations, Italy had more than its share of
Risorgimento, which was the term for the Italian... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the Italian government had a vision to restore the glories of the Roman Empire. And
while the war did not have the full support from its citizens, joining the allied forces cultivated a
young group of supporters. Emilio Lussu, an Italian soldier who recalled his time on the warfront
in A Soldier on the Southern Front, was studying law in college when the war began and was
strong in the conviction that Italy needed to join the allied powers to fight for democracy and
complete the national unification. Italian artists, writers, and thinkers, known as futurists, joined
Lussu s voice in calling for entry into the war as a source of liberation. In April 1915, the Italian
signed the secret Treaty of London with the Allies. Britain promised the Italian speaking regions of
the Alps as well as other territories belonging to the Austro Hungarian Empire. Italy entered a war it

A transnational company is a corporation that is registered and operates in more than one country at

_DISADVANTAGES_
There are also disadvantages for transnational companies as well as advantages. Many times these
can be one and the same depending on the perspective. As the Multilanguage abilities can be a
benefit, they can also be a challenge. Even though people can speak a foreign language, they
sometimes do not understand all the inflections or the meaning of some idioms that may be
common to an area that the company serves. This can cause some annoyance and even offensive
for some customers.
Another hurdle can be the lack of infrastructure in the desired area. This includes everything from
the desired quantity and quality of phone lines, OC3 or T1 lines or capability, necessary
workspace for the desired employees, or the availability of hardware or ability to obtain it where it
needs to go because of the potential host nation s legal restrictions or other challenges. These
obstacles can usually be met and defeated but there are time and cost considerations in meeting
these.
There are also the potential for a difficult or even hostile political climate. This consideration is
one that can change rapidly in many areas of the world, and can be quite unexpected. Conditions
in Egypt, for the last few weeks can be used as an example of how a seemingly stable country can
have civil unrest quickly and unexpectedly.

Summary Of Her Third Marriage And Tea Cake Woods
Her third marriage was to Vergible Tea Cake Woods. This marriage was a choice and Janie was
highly cautious before deciding to be with him. Similarly to Joe she did not know what to
expect from being with Tea Cake. Janie went into this marriage having hopes of achieving true
love and her idea of marriage. She hoped that she would be able to put her values first and that
she did. Tea Cake and Janie gone hunting. Tea Cake and Janie gone fishing. Tea Cake and Janie
gone to Orlando to the movies. Tea Cake and Janie gone to a dance. Tea Cake making flower
beds in Janie s yard and seeding the garden for her. Chopping down that tree she never did like by
the dining room window. All those signs of possession. Tea Cake in a borrowed car teaching
Janie to drive. Tea Cake and Janie playing checkers; playing coon can; playing Florida flip on the
store porch all afternoon as if nobody else was there. Day after day and week after week.
(Hurston 129). Tea Cake was about 12 years younger than Janie, which is probably why he was
so free and adventurous. He was not as traditional as Logan and Joe. Tea Cake allowed her the
freedom and support she needed. He allowed exploration of her self identity. Unlike her other
husbands, Tea Cake was encouraging. He encouraged her to follow her own interests and with that
she was fulfilled. Although she was fulfilled with Tea Cake and able to openly explore her values,
he was similar to her other husbands in many ways.

These investigations led to production of 8.4 tons of gold annually [1]. These successes led
several other gold mining companies to follow with bioleaching processes. Today bioleaching of
gold containing ore has become increasingly important as bioleaching technology progresses and
gold reserves become increasingly depleted. 2.2 TYPES OF BIOLEACHING Types of
bioleaching of gold ore can be divided into three categories. Each method offers various
advantages. Selection of the bioleaching type for a specific application depends on several
factors including: the ore composition, gold content, surrounding environment and amount of
available reserves. 2.2.1 BIOREACTORS Bioreactors are employed when the value of the gold
recovery is sufficient to justify the costs of installing and operating the necessary equipment.
Bioreactors are able to process less gold ore at one time, but create a much faster oxidation
process. This process usually utilizes higher grade ores compared to heap leaching. This type of
bioleaching is characterized by a reactor tank in which relatively finely ground ore and nutrients
are added, as well as bacteria containing solution to create a slurry (Figure 1). This mixture is then
mechanically or air agitated. [pic] Figure 1: Bioreactor tanks for processing of gold ore Available

The Human Right Violations at Abu Ghraib
In 1949, the Geneva Convention Relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War was created to
prohibit immoral, cruel and degrading punishment toward prisoners during wartime. The United
States ratified this covenant and became a member of the Geneva Conventions. During Operation
Iraqi Freedom, a series of human abuses occurred from October through December of 2003 where
American military personnel have conducted acts of brutality and immoral behavior toward Iraqi
detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison. The inhumane interrogation method of the American military

Abu Ghraib and the Root Causes of Abuse
When President Bush declared the War on Terror after the incident of September 11, 2001, he
was declaring a new kind of war on a different kind of enemy. The al Qaeda terrorist group who
were responsible for the destruction of World Trade Center is organized differently than any enemy
that the U.S. has faced before. Since the terrorists were determined to target large numbers of
American civilians, the Bush administration issued a memorandum which declared the Geneva
Conventions cannot apply to unconventional combatants such as al Qaeda, it states I accept the
legal conclusion of the Department of Justice and determine that none of the provisions of Geneva
apply to our conflict with al Qaeda in Afghanistan or elsewhere through the world because; among
other reasons al Qaeda is not a High Contracting Party to Geneva. (Bush 2002)
In 2002, the Office of Legal Counsel responded to the President s request of exploring the
question whether American officials have the right to use torture against suspected terrorists.
Assistant Attorney General Jay S. Bybee of the Office of Legal Counsel not only legalized the
use of torture for U.S. officials but also defined torture in the narrowest way. He defines torture as

Throughout the 1800s and into the 1900s the industrial revolution s unparalleled level of change
pushed the world into a new era. While change occurred throughout this time, the most radical was
the implementation of Communist ideology in Tsarist Russia. In a series of revolutions, Vladimir
Lenin seized power for the Bolsheviks, establishing the world s first Communist based government.
Lenin found himself in the predicament of building a state which would wither away, something
Marx claimed would happen naturally. However, this had never been attempted before, and quickly
Lenin found himself in a series of trial and error tests. Lenin s untimely death brought about more
immense changes, as a power struggle to assume control over his legacy... Show more content on

Lenin s revolution placed himself suddenly in a situation which Marx had never written from.
The revolution occurred, Bolsheviks had seized power, and suddenly a state would have to be
developed that would wither away while at the same time facing a civil crisis; a task deemed
near impossible (Lecture, Hoston March 7th). Lenin s own arguments prior to this held a much
more anarchical view, advocating for the abolition of the army, of long term bureaucracy, and of
the police force (State and Revolution 339). These calls would not be what went into effect in the
end. It is here we see the first of the many major departures from Lenin s original theory which
began to address the reality Russia was in. Lenin had realized that a state had to be strong at some
point, even if marching towards communism as Communism, makes the state absolutely
unnecessary, for there is nobody to be oppressed (State and Revolution 375). At the point Lenin was
in power, the communists still had those they needed to

Ontological Contentions
A standout amongst the most interesting contentions for the presence of an all impeccable God is
the ontological contention. While there are a few distinct renditions of the contention, all indicate
to demonstrate that it is self conflicting to deny that there exists a biggest conceivable being. In this
way, on this general line of contention, it is an essential truth that such a being exists; and this
being is the Divine force of conventional Western belief in higher powers. This article clarifies and
assesses great and contemporary forms of the ontological contention.
The vast majority of the contentions for God s presence depend on no less than one exact

Essay about The Central Part of Berkeley s Metaphysics
The Central Part of Berkeley s Metaphysics
The central part of Berkeley s metaphysics seems paradoxical or even absurd. Its claim is that
what we call solid, and indeed everything else that we find laid out in the three dimensional
physical word that is apparently around us, is only fictional. It appears to be there, but it does not
really have an independent existence. The physical world is, according to Berkeley, dependent on
and only perceived through a mental state. In Three Dialogues Between Hylas and Philonous,
Berkeley tried to explain how a seemingly noncommonsensical theory can actually consist of
commonsensical characteristics. There are two contentions made by Berkeley in his attempt to
prove that commonsense is the basis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, none or these qualities exist outside the mind because we all see things differently. It is
impossible, therefore, that matter be something existing in itself, objective, inert, and devoid of
thought. According to Berkeley, when we say that a thing exists, we mean nothing more than
that such a thing is merely perceived by us. Berkeley stated, To be is to be perceived. Berkeley s
answer to the philosophical question, if there is no one in the forest when a tree falls, is there a
sound, would be no because the forest cannot exist without a perceiver. Primary or secondary
qualities, substances and impressions are nothing other than acts of perception, that is, mental
facts; and their existence signifies their being perceived as mental acts. If I walk into a room
containing a table, the table exists. However, when I leave the room, the table no longer exists.
The Paradoxical problem arises when one asks, how is it then that when I return to the room, the
table is still there? While denying the existence of a material world, Berkeley did not deny the
existence of the world of spirits/minds. He believed that from the very presence of ideas and
impressions, there had to existence finite spirits/minds, and because there had to be an origin of
these ideas/impression, there had to exist a finite spirit/mind. Finite spirits/minds refers to humans
and the Infinite Spirit/Mind refers to God. Now

Relishing the Ambrosia of Hope in Stephen CraneВґs Bowery...
At the bed of the deepest ocean, exist a distinguished sect of people. They live with no warmth or
light, in the darkest, most nefarious pit of the world. They eternally drown. An occult force
leisurely sips their souls, relishing every drop. It savors the thin and sweet nectar of innocence as
it fluidly streams down its throat, appeasing its taste buds but never quenching the crave for more.
This mystic being extracts the cherubic innocence of a child s laughter before it even has the
chance to dance upon their lips. However, it lives within the souls of the children; it is engraved in
their bones, an intrinsic quality passed from generation to generation. It works from the inside to
turn every person against one another, to make them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without building the base for the building, which would be their child s ethical outlook, parents try
to make a skyscraper. They threaten children with stories and gibe about the devil and hell, but they
do not realize that their children have no perception of the opposite side, God and purity. They
cannot appreciate the darkness of the devil without understanding the beauty of God and religion.
In the Bowery, inhabitants possess a warped sense of religion that fails to offer truth and
sanctuary. Instead, religion is just a word for these people; they throw it around without
understanding what it is and why it exists. The victims of the Bowery have no pure sense of
untainted religion. They do not see that God teaches humans to practice ethic and to love others;
without this fundamental comprehension, it is impossible for them actually to apply these
ideologies in their lives. Still, they attempt to incorporate religion into their lives because they
see the more affluent people doing so. In trying to affiliate religion with the filthy and obscene
Bowery, they corrupt the core purpose of it. They do not see that it is impossible to tie such a
white and pure idea to a place so iniquitous and scarred. When they try to tie this knot, they unveil
the hypocrisy in their actions and words. Crane instills these qualities of hypocrisy in Jimmie and
Mary in order to show the Bowery s naivety towards genuine morality

Hunt Descriptive Writing
Waking up before the rising sun on the morning of the hunt left me feeling groggy with my eyes
slow to open and close when blinking. Being extra quiet to not wake up my mother was a main
challenge, trying to tippy toe around the cabin and dodging the creaky spots in the floor. Prior to
eating breakfast, I began getting dressed. Due to the fact that I was in northern Minnesota, the
weather was bone chilling and the wind would seep right through your layers onto your
unexpecting skin. Once I had put on my long johns, sweatpants, and long sleeve shirt with a tee
shirt on top I began to make my breakfast. I had decided to have scrambled eggs that were cooked
to perfection with the yolk golden mixed in with the pure snow white egg white and flakes of
pepper sprinkled throughout and toast with butter melted onto the crunchy outside making it
soft with homemade strawberry jam spread thick on top. After I had finished my meal I
continued getting ready. In doing so I put on the remainder of my clothes, my sweatshirt and
hunting pants came next followed by my wool socks and winter hunting boots. Next I checked
to make sure my backpack was ready and had all the essentials in it in case something were to
happen. Lastly I grabbed my already loaded sleek black shotgun and put on my heaving winter
coat, hats and gloves. Now I was ready to begin my hunt. Starting out, I was walking slowly down
the freshly snow covered dirt lane in front of my cabin. As I was walking I could hear the crisp

The Most Important Part Of Prescribing An Exercise Program
Exercise Assessment The most important part of prescribing an exercise program is the proper
assessment of the client to ensure they are physically, mentally, and healthy enough to engage in
a certain type of program. With any female client 55 years of age or older, risk for cardiovascular
disease (CVD) should always be assessed. This will help determine how to properly proceed
with the development of an exercise program. According to the ACSM s Guidelines for Exercise
Testing and Prescription, reviewing health and medical history is the first step in assessing risk
for CVD (American College of Sports Medicine, 2014). If there is a known disease this puts a

A normal BMI range is 18.5 24.9; less than 18.5 is underweight; 25 29.9 is overweight; and
greater than or equal to 30 is considered obese. These values are important to remember and
keeping in mind those with a low BMI (less than 18.5) greatly increases their risk for fractures in
the pelvis and ribs (Compston et al., 2014) .
After assessing an individual s health status and risk for CVD, as well as gathering anthropometric
data, getting more specific with evaluating specific risks related to osteoporosis would be the next
step. With individuals who have osteoporosis, assessing their risk for falls and fractures are two
very important objectives to developing an exercise prescription. A low BMI may tell you that
an individual is at an increased risk but there is much more that should be considered in this
assessment process. Knowing the history of a client is important and understanding that with
any type of previous fracture will also automatically increase the individual s risk for reoccurring
fractures. Also, by simply looking at someone s standing stance can be an indicator as well, if their
stance is narrower there is a better chance of losing balance and if the stance is wider the person
will be more stable. I one year study observing the fall predictions in 225 female and 45 male

Introduction When we look back on the ramifications of the First Great War (WWI), we talk
about subjects such as loss of life, the roughly 10 million soldiers on both sides that were lost or
wounded. We talk about how much the war cost. The almost 180 Billion dollars, that were spent
is typical high school and freshman college information. (John Simkin) What we do not usually
hear about is the thousand of acres of farmland that were destroyed, some still ruined to this day,
some beyond repair forever. The two figures above are from a general area of Flanders, Belgium.

This was due to both sides lack of interest in respecting their environment, or more forgivably, the
necessary need to use the land for their efforts, such as the case in War Trenches. War Trenches
were long dugouts that soldiers could move along the battlefield without putting themselves in
sight of the enemy. However, when the soldiers left, these trenches were left to be long lines of
deep trench that would cause much hazard in the future. These War trenches can still be seen to
this day. Much land was overused due to the greater need for food in war areas. These farms
desperately worked in order to put out enough food for the soldiers who needed it, but after the
war was over and the soldiers went home, the land was unusable after overuse. Land could be
destroyed by many methods. Like trenches, the land could be carved out of the earth and ruin the
shape of the landscape. Or, another possibility, as soldiers marched through the fields, they
trampled the crops, ruining a year s worth of work.

Stay Positive
Even if things may seem bad, you should always stay positive.
If you were in a horrible situation, what would you do?
You should always be positive no matter what situation you are in. Like Anne Frank when she was
in hiding and she had looked on the brighter side of their hiding place. Someone else who looked
on the brighter side of things was Winston Churchill. While the Axis powers were taking over
Europe Churchill kept Great Britain hopeful and calm. Anne Frank is well known for her diary
which held the information of the events that she had gone through while in hiding with her
family. She had died 1 week before the camps were liberated. Her diary holds the information of

The Clarity Of Scripture Analysis
Imagine yourself in a blustery sea with every human being in the world. Everyone is drowning,
and the only source of life is on a ship where the captain lives. Insistently, the captain throws out
life rings, but people, in the mist of their drowning, refuse and rebuke him. As ridiculous as this
may sound, this is how the fallen world today responds to the message of the most influential book
written, the Bible. As time passes, people pass, but Gods words will not pass away (Luke 21:33).
His words are the greatest literature ever written. They are read by more people, quoted by more
authors, translated into more tongues, represented in more art, are set to more music than any other

This means that the Bible is ONLY understood by those that are seeking God s help and willing to
follow it (Wayne Grudem). Those who do not have the work of the Holy Spirit in them will not see
the truthfulness of Scripture. Psalm 119:130 says, The unfolding of your words gives light; it
imparts understanding to the simple. In addition, 2 Peter 3:16 also goes on to state that there are
some things in them (the epistles) that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist

we should not believe the error is in the Bible, but with the interpretations we have made, because
Christ s ways are higher than ours ways and his thoughts than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). However,
God provides us with scholars to make clear the errors in interpretations and to defend the Bible

250 Word Post Analysis
When it comes to creating blogs for a law firm, the length of the post is going to depend upon the
firm s focus and goals. A 250 word post is not going to achieve the same results as a 1,200 word

250 word posts I have found that posts of this level are great for simple safety tips, which make
them great for personal injury lawyers. For my example post, I found a recent bicycle accident in
Salt Lake City and offered bike safety tips.
600 word posts For a post of this length, I can go into a little more detail. I will generally try to
include more links to laws or other authoritative sources. For example, in the post about child
custody in Massachusetts, I provided links to the Massachusetts legislature, allowing readers to see
the exact wording of the laws.

Cultural And Cultural Diversity In Hey Arnold
As a kid, watching television was one of my favorite things to do. It seemed as if when the TV
was on, the world stopped moving for an hour or two. There were many shows from my childhood
that helped shape me into the person I am today, but the one that stood out amongst the rest was
Hey Arnold. The hit 90 s show Hey Arnoldenculturated children through illustrating social
acceptance, self confidence, and displaying resilience through hardships.
As a young child growing up in the late 90s/early 00s, Hey Arnold helped me become a more
culturally and socially accepting individual through the consistent exposure of different ethnicities
and family structures. For example, Arnold s grandparents housed two immigrants Mr. Hyunh
from Vietnam and Oskar Kokoshka from Czechoslovakia. These two men from two entirely
different cultural backgrounds were able to share a home, as well as guide Arnold through
several issues he faced growing up. Arnold showed a full capacity of love and acceptance for
these men s diverse race and backgrounds. Another example of the ethnic diversity in Hey Arnold
is Arnold s friends. His best friend Gerald, a young sporty African American boy, Phoebe a young
Japanese American girl, and his Jewish friend Harold are prime examples of the cultural and racial
diversity the show displayed. None of these characters were treated poorly or persecuted based on
race or culture. In the episode Harold s Bar Mitzvah , Harold is forced to abandon his friends

The Effects Of Malnutrition On Educational Disparities
The Impact of Malnutrition on Educational Disparities in Africa
By: Merette Khalil and Blessing Kuebee, African Students Association At the start of the
millennium, various United Nations (UN) partners came together to tackle some of the world s
deadliest and most pressing social and economic problems, and in doing so, established the
Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In the past 15 years, the MDGs have been evaluated
and re evaluated. This year the UN has declared a new set of 17 goals for the next 15 years called
the Sustainable Development Goals. The first issue on both agendas is the eradication of extreme
poverty and hunger, a problem that is specifically significant for the entire continent of Africa.
Clarifying a few terms based on the World Food Program s definition is essential to understanding
the scope of the problem.
Hunger is not having enough to eat to meet energy requirements. It can lead to malnutrition, which
is a condition when one s diet does not provide adequate nutrients for growth and maintenance or
when a person is not able to adequately utilize the food consumed due to illness. Undernutrition,
being nutrient deficient, being underweight and even being overweight are all complications that
result from hunger.
Undernourishment is when a person is not able to acquire enough food to meet the daily minimum
dietary energy requirements, over a period of one year.

161 (Bankr. N.D. Ill. 1985) to distinguish between expenses that are mere overhead, and cannot
be reimbursed, with those that are directly chargeable to the estate. As the Thacker court
explained, expenses related to a professionals overhead have a common characteristic in that they
are incurred by the firm on a day to day basis, no matter whom it represents. The traditional way
to spread these kinds of daily expenses among all the firm s clients is for the firm to structure its
hourly rates to take such expenses into consideration. In re Thacker, 48 B.R. at 164. On the other
hand, [c]ompensable, out of pocket expenses are those which can be clearly and fairly charged to
the Debtors. Court fees, transcription fees, out of town travel expenses, delivery service, long

traced to an applicant s representation of Debtors, as opposed to the firm s other clients. Id. at 10.
This Court in Wyche noted:
The Thacker court s distinction between overhead and reimbursable expenses comports with the
Bankruptcy Code in that it permits reimbursement only for expenditures made to satisfy the
particular necessities of individual case administration. Meanwhile, the Thacker definition
disallows costs connected to the daily operations of a law firm. Such daily operations include
efforts by individual attorneys and staff to ensure that the service they provide merits compensation

College Campus Rape Culture
Certain things are a given about college life. New opportunities, new friends, new living
situations, but also, new dangers. No matter what college, what area, whether it is a notorious
party school or not, there is always a danger that comes with placing hormonal youths in close
contact with drugs, alcohol, and each other. Yet, few parents are afraid for the safety their young
sons. Many parents fear for the safety of their daughters, in an environment where drugs and
alcohol are the norm. The college party culture has been renowned for placing shame and blame on
young girls who are the victims of rapeand sexual assault. So, I created a model for a poster which
protests this campus, and also nationwide rape culture.
The first element of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not misandry, it is just historical fact. A 1997 U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics study
showed that 91% of rape victims are female... and 99% of arrestees for rape are male. Many
rapes are underreported or played down as mistakes , lapses in judgement , etc. This excusing of
rape is central to rape culture, especially that of campus rape. This trend can be seen in the way
that Brock Turner s father tried to explain away his son s rape of the Stanford rape victim, as 20
minutes of action out of his 20 plus years of life. This could be the understatement of the year!
Those 20 minutes of action made a huge and permanent impact on the victim, and that act should
not be trivialized. Unfortunately this is characteristic of male rape culture. This concept of a man
taking what he wants, when he wants is so toxic, yet so inherent to rae culture. That is why I
chose to have the male sign completely merge with the letter U . This macho man trope is so
overused that it is basically a given. Therefore, my use of the male sign and its placement have
deliberate meanings that symbolize the prevalence of male rapists and sympathizers (such as
Brock Turner s father), and how closely they are woven into modern rape

Self-Reliance In Thoreau And Ralph Waldo Emerson
SELF RELIANCE
Self Reliance is to depend on one s own powers and resources rather than the influence, opinions,
and directives of others. Emerson s concept of self reliance is that each person should listen to
their inner voice, instead of others around them. Emerson speaks strongly on how others tend to
follow the popular choice, or the crowd that leads the way but does not to follow one s conscious
and what one truly feels. When Emerson says you find those who think they know your duty
better than you know it he hopes to advice people, to trust their own choices and decisions; instead
of those who feel like they have it all out for you.
Thoreau and Emerson has both stressed of the idea of self reliance in their works. Thoreau and
Waldo both accept that nature is what strengthens us not to depend on others thoughts but to rely
on our own. Like Emerson preaches, Thoreau looked to live a simple life, in order to discover
deeper meaning in life. Emerson wants to, get the whole and genuine meanness of it meaning he

Thoreau leaped into the woods with an attempt to experience on his own, and to learn for himself
what self reliance truly was. As Thoreau farther learned what self reliance was from experience,
including his own imagination, he was a man who could faithfully say he took action into what he
preached. Thoreau and Emerson both came to the thought that people rely on the government to a
horrible extent , when determining things that take place or choices for them. Thoreau followed
that by saying people must do what they feel is right; they have an obligation NOT to support what
they feel is wrong as he refer to those in society, that is still allowing themselves to get caught up in
other inner thoughts and feels, instead of speaking out and think for

School Shootings
Guns in the Classroom
131 people have died in mass school shootings since 1999 to 2015 (Le Miere). This excludes any
shootings that have resulted with 4 or less fatalities because they are not considered mass
shootings. However, these tragic events can be prevented or stopped faster if a trained adult had
presented a firearm. I believe that if a teacher would like to have a firearm in their classroom to
help prevent any fatalities from possible school shootings they should be allowed. Many people
oppose the concept of guns in the classroom, but a compromise can be found between the two sides
of the continuum. These compromisation can be applied to the classroom to help stop school
shootings and make sure school shootings don t occur.
Many people oppose the concept of their being a gun in the classroom. These people who oppose
it are a genuine part of the application process for this policy to be applied and their opinions
and worries need to be heard. However not every need can be met most can and both sides can
come to a compromise. The teacher not being able to handle the firearm or react in a dangerous
situation is a big worry for many people. Most people would not have the nerve, rational thought,
or skill to do it on the spot. Providing stop gap training would not address the whole picture. You
would be taking people who were trained to educate many of whom had most likely never owned
or even fired a gun and transforming them into the appointed defenders of

Research Paper On Ephesians
Ephesians After Jesus came about the rules had changed, what used to be a sin is no longer a sin.
In Ephesians 2:14 Paul talks about Jesus bring down the walls between Jews and Gentiles and
when he died he set aside the commandments and created new ones. Paul explains in the rest of
Ephesians some of the rest of the new rules for getting into heaven through Jesus. I believe that all
of Gods rules old and new are easy to follow as long as we try to do onto others as we want done
onto us. In Ephesians 1 Paul tells us how wonderful God is to us. God has handpicked Christians
to be Jesus s followers. Then in Ephesians 2 he talks about how the Jews (circumcised) and the
Gentiles (uncircumcised) are now one and are Christians. He says that the Gentiles, even though
they are not circumcised, are no longer outcasts to him and are now his children. So one of the new
rules is that you do not need to be circumcised to get into heaven anymore.... Show more content on

Paul uses this time to teach us about one of God s new rules, to love. As followers of a God so
full of love, we have to show the same love to others. Ephesians 4 goes to prove the point that
loving others is the way of God. Paul says we all have to work together because we all have
different talents to bring God. One person is no better or more useful than another so we should
love everyone. The other rules he tells us is: you shouldn t be selfish, shouldn t lie, shouldn t be

Earthquake Of The Sichuan Earthquake
The Sichuan Earthquake also known as Wenchuan Earthquake occurred on May 12th, 2008. The
horrific earthquake was located in the mountainous dominant region of Sichuan, south western
China. The earthquake was measured to have a magnitude of 8.0 by the Chinese. The quake
affected four fifths of the buildings located in the area. Towns, villages and schools had
collapsed and had been destroyed. Close to 90,000 people were tallied as missing or dead. The
Chinese Government report stated that more than 5,300 Children (mainly students at school) were
killed by the quake. As well as 375,000 people injured from collapsing buildings and tumbling
debris. The Chinese government sent relief workers and 130,000 soldiers to the devastated
location. Yet remote villages were hard to reach due to the insignificant amount of usable rescue
equipment needed to clear the damage (Pletcher, n.d.). 4,800,000 people (BBC, 2013) were left
homeless due to the earthquake.
The prediction of earthquakes cannot be tallied as a certain thing at the present time, however
educated estimations can be used to develop and warn people of possible earthquakes.
Predictions can and are based on a few factors. One includes new cracks in rocks, this occurs due
to a great build up of energy. That could possibly lead to a site where a discharge of energy could
take in the nearby future. Seismic danger maps arranged on the basis of historic earthquake
accounts and estimates of earthquake movement in the destination

Faha Insured Loans Pros And Cons
Pros and Cons of FHA insured loans
Families that have low or moderate income looking for a mortgage have a lifesaver in FHA
insured loans. Loans insured by Federal Housing Administration otherwise known as FHA loans
are great for families that do not have a high income. FHA insured loans are government backed
loan programs designed to help families get new loans of their homes at extremely low costs
compared to conventional mortgage loans.
One of the major misconceptions about FHA insured loans that need to be clear is the source of the
loans. It is worth knowing that the Federal Housing Administration does not give out loans. Instead,
the agency insures loans given to borrowers by lending institutions. This insurance consequently
makes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These drawbacks have somewhat affected borrowers demand for FHA loans. Some of these
drawbacks are as follows.
One of such disadvantages is the limits set by FHA on loan amount that can be taken by
borrowers. This measure is to ensure that the privilege is not abused by borrowers and only
families that fall within the approved income bracket benefit from the loan.
Another drawback of FHA insured loans to some people is the requirement that borrowers must
reside in the house and use it as their primary residence. This condition makes the loan not suitable
for persons that are looking to purchase a home as a vacation spot or as an investment property.
The reason for the restriction is that the loans are designed for families that are trying to get a home
for themselves.
One of the major features of getting an FHA insured loan is that borrowers need to go through an
FHA approved lending institution. However, this is only part of the process, and fortunately, there
are tens to hundreds of lending institutions approved by the Federal Housing Administration to
provide mortgage loans to

Lords of War Simulation
The Lords of War Simulation is best described by the neo liberalist theory. Neo liberalism best
describes this game because it supports the ideology that everything humans do is in their own
self interest. The theory also believes that people only cooperate with each other out of fear;
actions of people playing Lords of War validate this theory. To succeed, neo liberals need
cooperation, institutions to mediate, as well as a fear of being defected on. Neo liberals do not
feel that humans are good in nature, but will argue that they have the capacity to bond together for
the greater good, for their own personal benefit.

North Korea is acting in its own self interest because as long as they agree to not threaten countries

Other theorists would try and say that in the Lords of War simulation, people were only going to
do what would make them the most powerful, and realist would say that all of the participants
would have defected even with the institutions; and even though some people still defected, the
majority did cooperated. Realists would also say that a security dilemma would have occurred,
and people would have tried to make allies to only help themselves, whereas people cooperated
out of fear of losing trust, thus making them an opponent to be defected on consistently.
Constructivists would argue that people shared a sense of identity and norms, but this game
proved that there was no collective identity or norms to be shared. People just played the game in
accordance to their own wants, needs and personal beliefs. And the liberals would argue that
people are genuinely good and will come together to act in the best nature for all. This game has
proven that the intent and nature of humans is not genuinely good, and people do not cooperate
because it is the right thing to do, they cooperate out of fear that

The Complex World of Search Engines Essay
Search engines are a rather popular in today s society. Why, one may ask? Search engines provide
a way for one to quickly and efficiently find information scattered across the enormous network of
servers known as the World Wide Web. Imagine having to search through the millions of websites
just to find something as simple as a recipe for a sandwich!
While at first the science behind search engines may sound like a foreign language, the GIST of
the matter is basically as follows: the search engine sends spiders, which are a form of software
robots (HowStuffWorks), which browse throughout the Internet for sites containing a person s
query or similar, depending on the search engine. As it continues through, engine keeps a list of ...

Welcome to the wonderful world of computer software engineering and web development, or as it
more commonly known, coding. In this section, one will learn the programming languages used to
develop a search engine.
One of the most important programming languages for building a search engine is HTML, or
Hypertext Markup Language. Hypertext Markup Language is the programming language used to
make generally every webpage. It is used to create text boxes, hyperlinks, images, et cetera.
Sometimes another markup language, PHP, or Hypertext Preprocessor, is used which has the
benefit of also being a server side scripting language.
An important use for the markup language parts of both is the use of meta/ tags. Meta tags are
used for search engines like Yahoo! that use them to create a description for their search engine
ranking. They can also be used for keywords, content type descriptions, and for the Robot Exclusion
Protocol (Search Engine Watch).
The Robot Exclusion Protocol is actually a Meta tag attribute. It is used typically to tell search
engines to not index a webpage. It is also sometimes used to let search engines know whether or
not to follow links on the page (Search Engine Watch).
Another essential programming language of any webpage is CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets.
These style sheets are used to add styles, such as fonts, backgrounds, text sizes, et cetera, to one s
website (W3C). Without the use of style sheets,

Mobile Ipv4 And Ipv6 Problems And Implementation
Mobile IPv4 and IPv6 Problems and Implementation Mobile IPv4 and IPv6 are the future of
mobile communications wirelessly and can help greatly in the infrastructure and combination
of mobile systems and internet. This usage of IP addresses in mobile would increase the need
for implementation of IPv6 as the new standard to replace IPv4 and increase the number of
available addresses. However IP based mobile isn t perfect and has its own host of problems and
those will be discussed as well later as well as possible fixes in short and long term to these
problems. The main need to implement mobile IP is the fact that it can support more users and
keep those users closer to the internet, meaning that the internet is integrated into the system....

This can be a problem as more devices connect to and use a network the more data they use and
can cause a network to become congested. A solution to reduce congestion is to use many small
wireless receivers within the range of a large tower to spread out the devices upon smaller more
confined networks when within cities and high density areas. And simply using long range low
capacity towers when in the country side and places where fewer devices will be on a network
at any given time, this is a combination of macro cells and micro cells to ensure network
stability. At layer 2 comes the need to differentiate between devices on the network and needs a
standard to work in place usually used at layer 2 in IP based communications over the internet is
Ethernet II and uses MAC addresses differentiating between devices by using a hexadecimal
format. This is done by burning a unique ID into a network card by a manufacturer, however
rather than the normal Wi Fi a better option for long range communications is WiMAX. The
differences in Wi Fi and WiMAX is that WiMAX has an effective distance of up to 90km while Wi
Fi only has a range of up to 100m and data rates on WiMAX is up to 40mbps compared to Wi Fi
with up to 54mbps. Next layer 3 the Network layer is where the Internet Protocol (IP) will take
place and be defined. There are two options to use here IPv4 or IPv6.

The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe seems to be sad but relatable poem. The narrator is grieving over

friend at age nine and was by far the hardest thing I have been through. She was my best friend
we shared a lot of activities and her favorite was cheerleading. After she died I really did not want
to cheer anymore but I continue to in her honor. Although she was still on mind just like I am sure
Lenore was on the narrator s, I would get distracted from thinking about her while I cheering
because I knew she was looking over me. I feel that by the raven saying nevermore, he was telling
the narrator that it will be okay. That

Machiavelli Plato Rebuplic Prince Comparison

described by Machiavelli (The Prince, ch.15, pp. 47 #8211; 49 and ch. 18, pp.54f). What is the
most important difference between the two accounts? In your view, which account is better, and
why?For centuries, every ruler created their own principles and rules and somehow they ruled
millions of people and controlled their future. In this essay, I will try to compare the characteristics

On the other hand, a true guardian, who searches for justice and wisdom in his all time an all life,
couldn #8217;t be afraid of death which overshadows his path to the justice. Rulers need to
stand bravely, in order to find goodness. So that, Plato definitely rejects cowardice and
slavishness, where he signifies that #8220;then it seems a cowardly and slavish nature will take
no part in the philosophy #8221; [Republic, p.160, 486a #8211; b]. Shortly , Plato says that, a
ruler, should be naturally #8220;good at remembering, quick to learn, high minded, graceful, and a
friend and relative of truth, justice, courage, and moderation #8221; [Republic, p.161, 487a]. These
characteristics truly show the idealistic position of Plato. He tries to create a perfect ruler for his
utopian world kallipolis.
But, not surprisingly, Machiavelli is against this imaginary ruler. Although it would be marvelous
if a ruler have all these good qualities, he believes that a ruler who has all of these good
characteristics cannot exist in practice [Selected Political Writings, The Princech. 15, p.48]. For
him this image is suitable only for an ideal world. Unlike Plato, Machiavelli highlights that in
practical reality, for a ruler, who wants to hold on to power, it is necessary to learn how not to be
good. Misery, cruelty, duplicity, irreligion or untrustworthiness are evil qualities, for

  • 2. The Effects Of Global Warming On Science Our society relies on science more often than not. If there is a viral outbreak we turn to science to find a cure, for technological advancements we turn to science, ways to make life healthier and easier we turn to science. But for some reason we haven t accepted the existence of global warming, even when science says it is a current and immediate threat. There are plenty of ways to help alleviate the threat of climate changefrom political to consumer standpoints. Now is the time to start accepting the facts on the existence of global warmingand start changing our ways. Global warming or also known as climate change has always been a part of the earth s history. Paleo climatic and instrumental data had been collected over the last... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Volcanoes were one of the biggest contributors of gases to the environment pre humans, which was one big reason for the climate changes that occurred in that time period. After humans advanced enough we started the industrial revolution in 1790. With the start of the industrial revolution massive factories, industries, and machinery were becoming more frequent. We then went on to create the biggest contributor to the rise of gases which are fossil burning equipment. Add that to gases being released by landfills, pasture animals, refrigeration and fertilizer, the amount of gases being released into the atmosphere were exponentially more than what would have naturally happened. The results of global warming are rising oceans, altered weather patterns, extreme weather, wildlife endangerment and extinction just to name a few. There are over 111 countries at the moment who support global warming with the Copenhagen Accord. The Accord states the involved countries will work on reducing their footprints in order to help alleviate global warming. Even though IPCC meet every few years to discuss the data collected and give an updated opinion on the status of global warming, there are many opposing groups that claim it is merely a hoax. The groups claim that even though the pollution we create exists, it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of Robert Hayden s Frederick Douglas Robert Hayden has been considered one of America s best African American poets of the modern era. He did not consider himself to be a black poet but liked to think of himself as an American poet. He was a first in many ways, including the awards he won, his style of writing, and the level of success he had even tho he was a negro poet. Robert Hayden was a great poet. Robert Hayden was born on August 4, 1913 in Detroit Michigan to Asa and Ruth Sheffey. His birth name was Asa Bundy Sheffey put his name changed to Robert Hayden when he was adopted because his parents had split up before he was born. His foster parents lived next door to his biological parents. His foster parents constantly fought in front of him which deeply bothered him. Like every little boy he wanted to play sports especially baseball... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He tells us how in the winter, his father would be up before everyone else to warm up the house so that they wouldn t be so cold when they got out of bed. Robert was hesitant to come out of his room because he was afraid of the chronic angers of the house which is referring to how his foster parents always fought. Their fighting had always deeply troubled him. Hayden wrote Frederick Douglas because his story was a source of inspiration to him. The poem is about the struggles of the African Americans during the age of slavery and how they fought through it and how people like Frederick Douglas will be remembered as nothing more than a fighter and a symbol to represent how far the black population has come and how their fight is not yet over. The Middle Passage is about the Africans journey to America where they will be sold into slavery and how tragic it was. It explains in detail how inhuman and terrible it was. It tells how many of the Africans died at sea, how disease ran rampant due no sanitation and tight quarters, just in general how horrible the whole ordeal was. And that was just the ... • 5. Characteristics Of Medgar Evers Harold Laski once said, Without equality, I say, there cannot be liberty. Discrimination of race, gender, and religion has occurred in our world. The African American Civil Rights Movement lasted fourteen years in which many Africans fought for equality. Within the thousands, Medgar Evers also stood up for the betterment of society. Harper Lee published another version of a social protestwith her book: To Kill A Mockingbird in 1960. Atticus, the wise gentleman, portrays compassion while fighting for his own cause when he defends an African American man named Tom Robinson. Likewise, Medgar Eversalso fought for a cause in order to reform Mississippiinto a state where skin color did not dictate a man. Similar to Atticus leadership qualities, Medgar Evers pivotal involvement during the Civil Rights movement reflected his eminent qualities. Medgar Evers radiated leadership qualities because he desired a change for racial equality as Atticus did. Evers heavily encouraged Africans to stand up for themselves in order to stop injustice in their towns. Since he was the field secretary for the NAACP, his fight for Civil Rights took place in the state of Mississippi (Ribeiro 5). Over the years, he traveled around his birth state talking to blacks and trying to give them the courage to challenge racist, white, Mississippi Laws (Ribeiro 7). His fights for freedom also influenced his perpetual role in the civil rights movement. Atticus became first to defend an opposite color ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Devy Essay Discussion It is firstly important to note that our gaze dynamics are consistent with random walk processes. These movements are constant with what could be expected from long tailed LГ©vy distributions. Our results showed strong evidence for LГ©vy flights during both aesthetics rating and shape tasks. This makes sense, even in the presence of potentially larger inter individual differences. Since participants would find the tasks engaging, and would elicit more exploration. Interestingly our free viewing tasks trended towards H values that were less than 0.5. This indicates gaze dynamics that were sub diffusive or anti persistent, movements. These types of movements are more commonly found during fixation the need to keep the gaze... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is, as the task at hand changes, so must the way in which our eyes engage with it. This further supports the previously proposed fixational exploration continuum model suggested by Otero Millan. We see consistent changes of scale invariance in gaze dynamics in multiples tasks, which is consistent with the model. However, with the changes in the Hurst component, it would be interesting to explore whether the gaze dynamics changes due to task also lie on such a spectrum. Even with the differences in the H values we observed, only the lower ends of both sub diffusive and super diffusive scales were seen values were only just above or below 0.5. Presumably, ranges of values exist far from this point which were not seen in this study. It could be that the low levels of content in our fractal images, whilst giving us control over our images, could illicit only weak exploration from the human visual system. Real world scenarios can contain a multitude of complexity. With different levels of spatial complexity, static and dynamic stimuli, and attentional/task demands. The aim of this study was to further the investigation of eye movements. Which is why images were simplified to black and white fractal images with tightly controlled spatial complexity. The conditions in this trial, whilst abstract, allowed us to observe the human visual system as it engages with stimuli. Free viewing and judgement tasks are just a few of many ... • 7. An Introductory Class Of Cinema And Cultural Studies Taking an introductory class to Cinema and Cultural Studies has truly been a remarkable experience for me. Considering the fact that I am in the Health Science major, it would be highly unlikely for me to take a class with any relation to cinema or cultural studies. I only enrolled in this class to fulfill one of my Stony Brook Curriculum requirements, however I absolutely do not regret my decision at all. Every Monday night I am given an opportunity to watch a film, from either the twentieth or twenty first century, focusing on issues such as racism, genocide, adultery, homosexuality, and many more. Whether I had cried my eyes out or laughed nonstop throughout the movie, I would leave the lecture hall with an even greater appreciation of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Something that I believe really took away from this movie would be the editing. The transition between scenes is quite frankly abrupt and distracting; at the end of several scenes, the entire screen would intensify to a bloody red color, which forced me to look away because my eyes hurt from looking at it. Another bad case of editing can be seen more towards the end of the film. When Francois finds Therese s corpse by the side of the pond, he embraces her in his arms, with his head on her chest devastated. When I first watched this scene, I thought there was some sort of glitch with the system because the scene started replaying about ten times. It appears that Agnes Varda s intention was to make this scene as emotional and dramatic as possible, but when a clip is replayed constantly it can be misinterpreted as comedic; everyone watching, including myself, burst out in laughter when we saw this part of the movie. From my perspective, another flaw in Happiness that made it a second rate film was the plot. I was confused by various parts of the film and even after the film was finished, I had so many questions left. From just the opening scenes of this movie, it is quite obvious that Francois and Therese are deeply in love with each other; often times they will express their love for each other through physical touch and sexual intercourse. But I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Tuft Of Flowers, And After Apple Picking A discovery can lead to a change in perspective on life, with a better understanding of the self, which can form from an individual s experience. These ideas are exemplified through a range of language techniques, in Robert Frosts poems, Tuft of Flowers and After Apple Picking . Both create moralistic experiences through challenging responders to acknowledge unplanned discoveries of the human condition. Ray Bradbury s short story, The Lake, creates a vivid picture of how childhood can often be hard and misunderstood. Discoveries have the ability to be intensely meaningful and transformative of one s perspective. There is much to discover from experience and questions about identity may remain unanswered. The poem, After Apple Picking... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poem, Tuft of flowers by Robert Frost, examines how the persona s perception of the world is transformed through discovering and connecting with humanity. The rhyming scheme throughout the poem, suggesting decisiveness, it s strict AA BB rhyme couplets may allude to friendship and unity with another. The persona s isolation is demonstrated through the negative connotations of levelled , a metaphor for the persona s perception of the world and makes a realisation about a need for fellowship, in a quest for unity for his fellow man. Personification is used in A leaping tongue of bloom , as though the flowers are speaking to him and providing the communication that he sought earlier. It represents the collaboration of nature and language, which previously yielded no reply with the butterfly. The butterfly is wildered which represents the persona s confusion. However, the emergence of vibrant imagery of a leaping tongue of bloom metaphorically reflects an optimistic discovery of a possible companion. This alters the speakers cynical tone as reflected through the shift of a vibrant retrospective tone of I told him from the heart, whether they work together or apart , which conveys a hopeful and harmonious self discovery of kinship which provokes a transformation of a speaker s outlook on the work. Landscape and nature play a large role in his revolutionary moments. Disappointment is seen when the persona is alone with thoughts and the natural landscape, and the opportunity for introspection and reflection is evident. The landscape offers redemptive opportunities to the human spirit that go beyond the material and social world of human activity. Such moments allow re evaluation of his place in the world and the importance of earlier discoveries. It is through these ordinary experiences that the persona can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Hertz 1) The dual track process used by Ford to initiate consideration of strategic alternatives affects the bidding process for Hertz by giving Hertz another plan of attack if other viable sale opportunities fall through. By obtaining an IPO price as a base for the value of the company, Ford s strategy would give Hertz other options to retrieve necessary capital, thus reducing the amount of risk. This strategy would then give Hertz a base bid that would be either equal to or above the amount of what could be theoretically obtained from an IPO. 2) One way that Hertz conforms to be an ideal LBO candidate is the proven financial performance and pretax profit the company has generated since 1967. By adding up all of Hertz total value segments: RAC, SPV and HERC, we concluded that the total enterprise value for Hertz is: 20,764,860,000 billion. That being said, if deducting the total current debt of both Hertz s segment: RAC and HERC (fleet $ Operating company) $14,768,070,000 billion = we get a Equity value (terminal Value) of $5,996,790,000 billion. I can be contacted at Tina.alicea1@yahoo.com or 347 555 9999. The Prevention of Animal Cruelty Society (PACS) requests funding to continue educating against animal cruelty. Animal cruelty in New York is a very significant social issue because animals should have the same right to live and be unharmed as humans and many New York households own pets. Animal cruelty consists of numerous kinds of mistreatment such as hunting, factory farming, animal fighting as entertainment and wearing animals. The Prevention of Animal Cruelty Society (PACS) aims to advocate, educate, rescue and improve the quality of life for animals by targeting people who get arrested for animal cruelty, requiring those individuals to attend a program that instructs them on how to properly care for an animal and provide shelter for mistreated animals. PACS advocates for animals through public policy, corporate reforms, and major campaigns to confront national and global cruelties. As the director of this organization, it is not easy to fix what is damaged. However, with funding and a team who is as dedicated and passionate about saving animals as their director, there can be major success in correcting the way the government is being viewed in the eyes of their community. From 1860 until 1871, the Kingdom of Italy wrangled individual kingdoms across the land into one entity, much to the shock of its neighbors. The joining forced the rest of Europe to give grudging respect the land of the Roman Empire. The Kingdom of Italywas just missing the Italian speaking lands of the Alps, held by the Austrian Hapsburg Empire, and they coveted the land greatly. During his reign, Bismarck saw the rising tension between Austria Hungary and its new neighboring enemy and brokered a triple alliance that promised Italy support to take French held territory in and around the Mediterranean Sea. These investigations led to production of 8.4 tons of gold annually [1]. These successes led several other gold mining companies to follow with bioleaching processes. Today bioleaching of gold containing ore has become increasingly important as bioleaching technology progresses and gold reserves become increasingly depleted. 2.2 TYPES OF BIOLEACHING Types of bioleaching of gold ore can be divided into three categories. Each method offers various advantages. Selection of the bioleaching type for a specific application depends on several factors including: the ore composition, gold content, surrounding environment and amount of available reserves. 2.2.1 BIOREACTORS Bioreactors are employed when the value of the gold recovery is sufficient to justify the costs of installing and operating the necessary equipment. Bioreactors are able to process less gold ore at one time, but create a much faster oxidation process. This process usually utilizes higher grade ores compared to heap leaching. This type of bioleaching is characterized by a reactor tank in which relatively finely ground ore and nutrients are added, as well as bacteria containing solution to create a slurry (Figure 1). Lenin s own arguments prior to this held a much more anarchical view, advocating for the abolition of the army, of long term bureaucracy, and of the police force (State and Revolution 339). These calls would not be what went into effect in the end. It is here we see the first of the many major departures from Lenin s original theory which began to address the reality Russia was in. Its claim is that what we call solid, and indeed everything else that we find laid out in the three dimensional physical word that is apparently around us, is only fictional. It appears to be there, but it does not really have an independent existence. The physical world is, according to Berkeley, dependent on and only perceived through a mental state. Hence, none or these qualities exist outside the mind because we all see things differently. It is impossible, therefore, that matter be something existing in itself, objective, inert, and devoid of thought. Berkeley s answer to the philosophical question, if there is no one in the forest when a tree falls, is there a sound, would be no because the forest cannot exist without a perceiver. Primary or secondary qualities, substances and impressions are nothing other than acts of perception, that is, mental facts; and their existence signifies their being perceived as mental acts. • 32. Cultural And Cultural Diversity In Hey Arnold As a kid, watching television was one of my favorite things to do. It seemed as if when the TV was on, the world stopped moving for an hour or two. There were many shows from my childhood that helped shape me into the person I am today, but the one that stood out amongst the rest was Hey Arnold. The hit 90 s show Hey Arnoldenculturated children through illustrating social acceptance, self confidence, and displaying resilience through hardships. As a young child growing up in the late 90s/early 00s, Hey Arnold helped me become a more culturally and socially accepting individual through the consistent exposure of different ethnicities and family structures. For example, Arnold s grandparents housed two immigrants Mr. Hyunh from Vietnam and Oskar Kokoshka from Czechoslovakia. These two men from two entirely different cultural backgrounds were able to share a home, as well as guide Arnold through several issues he faced growing up. Arnold showed a full capacity of love and acceptance for these men s diverse race and backgrounds. Another example of the ethnic diversity in Hey Arnold is Arnold s friends. His best friend Gerald, a young sporty African American boy, Phoebe a young Japanese American girl, and his Jewish friend Harold are prime examples of the cultural and racial diversity the show displayed. None of these characters were treated poorly or persecuted based on race or culture. In the episode Harold s Bar Mitzvah , Harold is forced to abandon his friends ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This game has proven that the intent and nature of humans is not genuinely good, and people do not cooperate because it is the right thing to do, they cooperate out of fear that ... • 51. The Complex World of Search Engines Essay Search engines are a rather popular in today s society. Why, one may ask? Search engines provide a way for one to quickly and efficiently find information scattered across the enormous network of servers known as the World Wide Web. Imagine having to search through the millions of websites just to find something as simple as a recipe for a sandwich! While at first the science behind search engines may sound like a foreign language, the GIST of the matter is basically as follows: the search engine sends spiders, which are a form of software robots (HowStuffWorks), which browse throughout the Internet for sites containing a person s query or similar, depending on the search engine. As it continues through, engine keeps a list of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Welcome to the wonderful world of computer software engineering and web development, or as it more commonly known, coding. In this section, one will learn the programming languages used to develop a search engine. One of the most important programming languages for building a search engine is HTML, or Hypertext Markup Language. Hypertext Markup Language is the programming language used to make generally every webpage. It is used to create text boxes, hyperlinks, images, et cetera. Sometimes another markup language, PHP, or Hypertext Preprocessor, is used which has the benefit of also being a server side scripting language. An important use for the markup language parts of both is the use of meta/ tags. Meta tags are used for search engines like Yahoo! that use them to create a description for their search engine ranking. They can also be used for keywords, content type descriptions, and for the Robot Exclusion Protocol (Search Engine Watch). The Robot Exclusion Protocol is actually a Meta tag attribute. It is used typically to tell search engines to not index a webpage. It is also sometimes used to let search engines know whether or not to follow links on the page (Search Engine Watch). Another essential programming language of any webpage is CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets. These style sheets are used to add styles, such as fonts, backgrounds, text sizes, et cetera, to one s website (W3C). Without the use of style sheets, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mobile Ipv4 And Ipv6 Problems And Implementation Mobile IPv4 and IPv6 Problems and Implementation Mobile IPv4 and IPv6 are the future of mobile communications wirelessly and can help greatly in the infrastructure and combination of mobile systems and internet. This usage of IP addresses in mobile would increase the need for implementation of IPv6 as the new standard to replace IPv4 and increase the number of available addresses. However IP based mobile isn t perfect and has its own host of problems and those will be discussed as well later as well as possible fixes in short and long term to these problems. The main need to implement mobile IP is the fact that it can support more users and keep those users closer to the internet, meaning that the internet is integrated into the system.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be a problem as more devices connect to and use a network the more data they use and can cause a network to become congested. A solution to reduce congestion is to use many small wireless receivers within the range of a large tower to spread out the devices upon smaller more confined networks when within cities and high density areas. And simply using long range low capacity towers when in the country side and places where fewer devices will be on a network at any given time, this is a combination of macro cells and micro cells to ensure network stability. At layer 2 comes the need to differentiate between devices on the network and needs a standard to work in place usually used at layer 2 in IP based communications over the internet is Ethernet II and uses MAC addresses differentiating between devices by using a hexadecimal format. This is done by burning a unique ID into a network card by a manufacturer, however rather than the normal Wi Fi a better option for long range communications is WiMAX. The differences in Wi Fi and WiMAX is that WiMAX has an effective distance of up to 90km while Wi Fi only has a range of up to 100m and data rates on WiMAX is up to 40mbps compared to Wi Fi with up to 54mbps. Next layer 3 the Network layer is where the Internet Protocol (IP) will take place and be defined. There are two options to use here IPv4 or IPv6. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. Feeling Alone And Distracted In The Raven By Edgar Allan Poe Feeling alone and distracted The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe seems to be sad but relatable poem. The narrator is grieving over someone named Lenore but then gets distracted by a raven just as he was going to sleep. I lost a friend at age nine and was by far the hardest thing I have been through. She was my best friend we shared a lot of activities and her favorite was cheerleading. After she died I really did not want to cheer anymore but I continue to in her honor. Although she was still on mind just like I am sure Lenore was on the narrator s, I would get distracted from thinking about her while I cheering because I knew she was looking over me. I feel that by the raven saying nevermore, he was telling the narrator that it will be okay. That ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Machiavelli Plato Rebuplic Prince Comparison Haþim Cihan Demirköprülü, 20303433 Essay Question: Compare the Characteristics of the true guardians, as described by Plato (Republic, bk VII, pp.158 #8211; 61, 484b #8211; 487e) with the characteristics of the rulers, as described by Machiavelli (The Prince, ch.15, pp. 47 #8211; 49 and ch. 18, pp.54f). What is the most important difference between the two accounts? In your view, which account is better, and why?For centuries, every ruler created their own principles and rules and somehow they ruled millions of people and controlled their future. In this essay, I will try to compare the characteristics of two types of ruler, one is Plato #8217;s true guardian where he mentions in the Republic and the other one, Niccoló ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, a true guardian, who searches for justice and wisdom in his all time an all life, couldn #8217;t be afraid of death which overshadows his path to the justice. Rulers need to stand bravely, in order to find goodness. So that, Plato definitely rejects cowardice and slavishness, where he signifies that #8220;then it seems a cowardly and slavish nature will take no part in the philosophy #8221; [Republic, p.160, 486a #8211; b]. Shortly , Plato says that, a ruler, should be naturally #8220;good at remembering, quick to learn, high minded, graceful, and a friend and relative of truth, justice, courage, and moderation #8221; [Republic, p.161, 487a]. These characteristics truly show the idealistic position of Plato. He tries to create a perfect ruler for his utopian world kallipolis. But, not surprisingly, Machiavelli is against this imaginary ruler. Although it would be marvelous if a ruler have all these good qualities, he believes that a ruler who has all of these good characteristics cannot exist in practice [Selected Political Writings, The Princech. 15, p.48]. For him this image is suitable only for an ideal world. Unlike Plato, Machiavelli highlights that in practical reality, for a ruler, who wants to hold on to power, it is necessary to learn how not to be good.
