Bangla Optical Digits Recognition using Edge Detection MethodIOSR Journals
Abstract:This paper is based on Bangla Optical Digit Recognition (ODR) by the Edge detection technique. In this method, Bangla digit image converted into gray-scale which distributed by an M by N array form. Here input data are considered off-line printed digit’s image which collected from computer generated image, scanned documents or printed text. After addressing the gray-scale image against a variable in the form of an M by N array, where the value of array pointers are shown 255 for total white space, 0 (zero) for total dark space and value between 255 and 0 for mix of white and dark space of the image. At the next process, four edgestouch points as well as each touch point’s ratio use as parameters to determine each Bangla digit uniquely. Keywords-Edge, image,gray-scale, Matrix,ODR.

Content Based Image Retrieval Approach Based on Top-Hat Transform And Modifie...cscpconf
In this paper a robust approach is proposed for content based image retrieval (CBIR) using texture analysis techniques. The proposed approach includes three main steps. In the first one, shape detection is done based on Top-Hat transform to detect and crop object part of the image. Second step is included a texture feature representation algorithm using color local binary patterns (CLBP) and local variance features. Finally, to retrieve mostly closing matching images to the query, log likelihood ratio is used. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated using Corel and Simplicity image sets and it compared by some of other well-known approaches in terms of precision and recall which shows the superiority of the proposed approach. Low noise sensitivity, rotation invariant, shift invariant, gray scale invariant and low computational complexity are some of other advantages.

The Application Of Bayes Ying-Yang Harmony Based Gmms In On-Line Signature Ve...ijaia
In this contribution, a Bayes Ying-Yang(BYY) harmony based approach for on-line signature verification is
presented. In the proposed method, a simple but effective Gaussian Mixture Models(GMMs) is used to
represent for each user’s signature model based on the prior information collected. Different from the early
works, in this paper, we use the Bayes Ying Yang machine combined with the harmony function to achieve
Automatic Model Selection(AMS) during the parameter learning for the GMMs, so that a better
approximation of the user model is assured. Experiments on a database from the First International
Signature Verification Competition(SVC 2004) confirm that this combined algorithm yields quite a
satisfactory result.

GRAY SCALE IMAGE SEGMENTATION USING OTSU THRESHOLDING OPTIMAL APPROACHJournal For Research
Image segmentation is often used to distinguish the foreground from the background. Image segmentation is one of the difficult research problems in the machine vision industry and pattern recognition. Thresholding is a simple but effective method to separate objects from the background. A commonly used method, the Otsu method, improves the image segmentation effect obviously. It can be implemented by two different approaches: Iteration approach and Custom approach. In this paper both approaches has been implemented on MATLAB and give the comparison of them and show that both has given almost the same threshold value for segmenting image but the custom approach requires less computations. So if this method will be implemented on hardware in an optimized way then custom approach is the best option.
K2 Algorithm-based Text Detection with An Adaptive Classifier ThresholdCSCJournals
In natural scene images, text detection is a challenging study area for dissimilar content-based image analysis tasks. In this paper, a Bayesian network scores are used to classify candidate character regions by computing posterior probabilities. The posterior probabilities are used to define an adaptive threshold to detect text in scene images with accuracy. Therefore, candidate character regions are extracted through maximally stable extremal region. K2 algorithm-based Bayesian network scores are learned by evaluating dependencies amongst features of a given candidate character region. Bayesian logistic regression classifier is trained to compute posterior probabilities to define an adaptive classifier threshold. The candidate character regions below from adaptive classifier threshold are discarded as non-character regions. Finally, text regions are detected with the use of effective text localization scheme based on geometric features. The entire system is evaluated on the ICDAR 2013 competition database. Experimental results produce competitive performance (precision, recall and harmonic mean) with the recently published algorithms.
Object recognition is the challenging problem in the real world application. Object recognition can be achieved through the shape matching. Shape matching is preceded by i) detecting the edges of the objects from the images. ii) Finding the correspondence between the shapes. iii) Measuring the dissimilarity between the shapes using the correspondence. iv) Classifying the object into classes by using this dissimilarity measures. In order to solve the correspondence problem, we attach a descriptor, the shape context, to each point. The shape context at a reference point captures the distribution of the remaining points relative to it, thus offering a globally discriminative characterization. Corresponding points on two similar shapes will have similar shape contexts. The one to one correspondence is achieved through the cost based bipartite graph matching. The cost matrix is reduced through Hungarian algorithm. The dissimilarity between the two shapes is computed using Canberra distance. The nearest neighbor classifier is used to classify the objects with the matching error. The results are obtained using the MATLAB for MINIST hand written digits.
Segmentation and recognition of handwritten digit numeral string using a mult...ijfcstjournal
In this paper, the use of Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) Neural Network model is proposed for recognizing
unconstrained offline handwritten Numeral strings. The Numeral strings are segmented and isolated
numerals are obtained using a connected component labeling (CCL) algorithm approach. The structural
part of the models has been modeled using a Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network. This paper also
presents a new technique to remove slope and slant from handwritten numeral string and to normalize the
size of text images and classify with supervised learning methods. Experimental results on a database of
102 numeral string patterns written by 3 different people show that a recognition rate of 99.7% is obtained
on independent digits contained in the numeral string of digits includes both the skewed and slant data.
Face recognition using selected topographical features IJECEIAES
This paper represents a new features selection method to improve an existed feature type. Topographical (TGH) features provide large set of features by assigning each image pixel to the related feature depending on image gradient and Hessian matrix. Such type of features was handled by a proposed features selection method. A face recognition feature selector (FRFS) method is presented to inspect TGH features. FRFS depends in its main concept on linear discriminant analysis (LDA) technique, which is used in evaluating features efficiency. FRFS studies feature behavior over a dataset of images to determine the level of its performance. At the end, each feature is assigned to its related level of performance with different levels of performance over the whole image. Depending on a chosen threshold, the highest set of features is selected to be classified by SVM classifier.

Scene Text Detection of Curved Text Using Gradiant Vector Flow MethodIJTET Journal
Abstract--Text detection and recognition is a hot topic for researchers in the field of image processing and multimedia. Content based Image Retrieval (CBIR) community fills the semantic gap between low-level and high-level features. For text detection and extraction that achieve reasonable accuracy for multi-oriented text and natural scene text (camera images), several methods have been developed. In general most of the methods use classifier and large number of training samples to improve the accuracy in text detection. In general, connected components are used to tackle the multi-orientation problem. The connected component analysis based features with classifier training, work well for achieving better accuracy when the images are highly contrast. However, when the same methods used directly for text detection in video it results in disconnections, loss of shapes etc, because of low contrast and complex background. For such cases, deciding geometrical features of the components and classifier is not that easy. To overcome from this problem the proposed research uses Gradiant Vector Flow and Grouping based Method for Arbitrarily Oriented Scene text Detection method. The GVF of edge pixels in the Sobel edge map of the input frame is explored to identify the dominant edge pixels which represent text components. The method extracts dominant pixel’s edge components corresponding to the Sobel edge map, which is called Text Candidates (TC) of the text lines. Experimental results on different datasets including text data that is oriented arbitrary, non-horizontal text data also horizontal text data, Hua’s data and ICDAR-03 data (Camera images) show that the proposed method outperforms existing methods.

A combined method of fractal and glcm features for mri and ct scan images cla...sipij
Fractal analysis has been shown to be useful in image processing for characterizing shape and gray-scale
complexity. The fractal feature is a compact descriptor used to give a numerical measure of the degree of
irregularity of the medical images. This descriptor property does not give ownership of the local image
structure. In this paper, we present a combination of this parameter based on Box Counting with GLCM
Features. This powerful combination has proved good results especially in classification of medical texture
from MRI and CT Scan images of trabecular bone. This method has the potential to improve clinical
diagnostics tests for osteoporosis pathologies.
In this paper, implementations of three Hough Transform based fingerprint alignment algorithms are analyzed with respect to time complexity on Java Card environment. Three algorithms are: Local Match Based Approach (LMBA), Discretized Rotation Based Approach

Abstract
Text data present in video sequences provide useful information of paramount requirement. Although text present in video provide
useful information not all are of them are necessary because it may hide the important portion of the video. So there must way to
erase this type of unwanted text. This can be done in two phase first text components are detected from each frame of the video.
Detected text component are then removed from the video sequences. And restore the occluded part of the video using inpaint
method. This text detection and removal scheme is in two phases. Each phase is broad topic of image processing. Video text
detection and Inpainting are two most important phase in this scheme. Text detection phase consist of text localization, text
segmentation and recognition phase. Inpainting method is used for restoring occluded part produce due to removal of text.
