The ability to tune a PID loop manually is an art that is quickly becoming scarce, but, like driving a car with a stick shift, it can be very helpful in the right circumstance. In industrial processes automation, most modern control loops are equipped with an auto-tuning algorithm, but in spite of this, there are some loops these automated methods cannot tame.
Having knowledge of the different tuning elements and how to adjust them can help you bring these unruly loops under control. If you have the responsibility to keep the processes running at your plant or factory, this webinar will help you better understand the basics of PID control.
In this webinar you will learn:
The purpose of each of the PID tuning elements
How adjusting the individual PID elements will affect the process
General PID profiles for pressure / flow loops
General PID profiles for temperature loops
An explanation of some supporting parameters like cycle time, manual reset, and anti-reset windup

In this paper, we propose a new technique for implementing optimum controller for a conical tank. The objective of the controller is to maintain the level inside the process tank in a desired value. Hence an attempt is made in this paper as Internal Model Based PID controller design for conical tank level control. For each stable operating point, a first order process model was identified using process reaction curve method. The real time implementation is done in Simulink using MATLAB. The experimental results shows that proposed control scheme have good set point tracking and disturbance rejection capability.
This presentation explains clearly about the definition of controller and classification of controllers and explanation of individual controllers of P, I, D and combination of PI, PD and PID controllers with transfer function and block diagram. It explains effects of P,I PI, PD and PID controllers on system performance.

[D08.00015] ROBUST AND OPTIMAL CONTROL FOR SUPERCONDUCTING QUBITS, 2-QUBIT G...HarrisonBall1
Superconducting quantum computers manifest distinct error processes at different levels of system complexity: from leakage or dephasing in individual transmon qubits to errors in two-qubit gates arising from dephasing, imperfect control signals, and unwanted cross-couplings. Quantum control at the physical-layer provides a pathway to combating these errors in today’s quantum hardware. In this talk we describe error modelling of dominant error channels in superconducting circuits relevant for parametrically-activated or cross-resonance gates. Advancing on previous work, we present optimal and robust controls that reduce sensitivity to both leakage and dephasing errors by orders of magnitude, as well as other optimized controls to reduce hardware errors at higher levels of system complexity.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

3. Design and Tuning of PID Override Control
System Based on Signal Filtering
ABSTRACT: The proposed override control system consists of two anti-reset windup controllers,
common actuator and a limiter, surrounded by pre and post biproper filters. Prefilter is inverse of
the post-filter. The desired limit on the override variable and its set-point are defined by output of
the limiter. Signal selector is not applied in the proposed structure. Other characteristic feature of
the proposed solution, compared to standard one, is that the override variable response is
obtained practically without overshoot. Procedure for adjusting parameters of the postfilter are
defined and illustrated in detail. Simulation results are used to demonstrate the basic ideas.
Experiment on a laboratory thermal plant with noisy measurements is used to confirm validity of
the proposed solution.

After consulting a variety of sources, you will need to narrow your topic. For example, the topic of internet safety is huge, but you could narrow that topic to include internet safety in regards to social media apps that teenagers are using heavily. A topic like that is more specific and will be relevant to your peers. Some questions to think about to help you narrow your topic:
What topics of the research interest me the most?
What topics of the research will interest my audience the most?
What topics will the audience find more engaging? Shocking? Inspiring?
