Comprehensive Approach Towards Modelling and Simulation of Single Area Power Generation System using PI Control and Stability Solution using Linear Quadratic Regulator
This document describes modeling and simulation of a single area power generation system using MATLAB. It begins by developing a state space model of the open loop system. Simulation shows large undershoot, long settling time, and steady state error. Then, a PI controller is added to improve the response. The controlled system is stabilized using LQR design. Simulation results show the PI controlled system has a settling time of 0.7 seconds, zero steady state error, and 5.45% undershoot, meeting control objectives.
Correlative Study on the Modeling and Control of Boost Converter using Advanc...IJSRD
DC-DC converters are switched power converters. The converters are most widely used in research and industrial applications. The DC-DC Boost Converters are used to step-up the supply voltage given to the plant model. The main advantage of using the Boost Converters is that it works in the low voltage according to the design specifications. In order to regulate the uncontrolled supply of voltage, a controller has to be designed and modeled to stabilize the output voltage. Since the convectional controllers cannot work under dynamic operating conditions, advanced controllers are to be designed to overcome the problems. In this article, the advanced controllers such as NARMA-L2, Fuzzy Logic (FLC) and Sliding Mode Controllers (SMC) are implemented and their responses are compared using MATLAB.

This review paper is based on space vector based hysteresis current control in three phase PWM converter. In hysteresis current control technique, two, three or four level hysteresis comparator are used, which selects the appropriate inverter output voltage vectors by their switching phenomenon of vector based HCC, and it is used to control the current vector by keeping the current error vector in tolerance region. Through which the load gets desirable output current voltage. By keeping the zero phase difference between output current and voltage, acquires a high power factor by HCC voltage vector and this HCC voltage vector have some advantages over conventional HCC which are not to have interphase dependency and also maintaining constant modulation frequency or also reducing switching frequency. By this HCC, increase the system steady state performance and reducing dynamic response.

Minimize the load reduction considering the activities control of the generat...IJECEIAES
This study shows how to calculate the minimum load that needs to be reduced to restore the frequency to the specified threshold. To implement this problem, the actual operation of the electricity system in the event of a generator outage is considered. The main idea of this method is to use the power balance equation between the generation and the load with different frequency levels. In all cases of operating the electrical system before and after the generator outage, the reserve capacity of other generators is considered in each generator outage situation. The reduced load capacity is calculated based on the reciprocal phase angle sensitivity or phase distance. This makes the voltage phase angle and voltage value quality of recovery nodes better. The standard IEEE 9-generator 37-bus test scheme was simulated to show the result of the proposed technique.

Design and Simulation Analysis of Sliding Mode Controller for DC-DC Cuk Conve...IJMREMJournal
Due to compact size and fast dynamic response DC-DC converters are used to a great extent. DC-DC Cuk
converter has switching transients which leads to switching losses and harmonics generation. With a linear
controller like Proportional integral derivative (PID), the transients and oscillations under supply and load
variations cannot be controlled. So, it becomes necessary to use a nonlinear controller to make transient
performance of the converter stable increase its efficiency. A great advantage of this controller includes, it’s
based on large signal model of DC to DC converters hence its stability is not bounded by the size of the
interpretations around the working point. In this research work, simulation model of cuk converter with sliding
mode controller is developed and tested using MATLAB SIMULINK. Effectiveness of proposed sliding mode
controller for cuk converter is proved from simulation results.
Fuzzy and predictive control of a photovoltaic pumping system based on three-...journalBEEI
In this work, an efficient control scheme for a double stage pumping system is proposed. On the DC side, a three-level boost converter is employed to maximize the photovoltaic power and to step-up the DC-link voltage. For maximum power point tracking, the classical incremental conductance method is substituted by a fuzzy logic controller. The designed controller estimates the optimal step size which speeds up the tracking process and improves the accuracy of the extracted photovoltaic power. Afterwards, the voltages across the three-level boost converter (TLBC) capacitors are balanced by phase shifting the applied duty ratios. On the motor pump side, a two-level inverter drives the motor pump with the cascaded nonlinear predictive control. The predictive controller is preferred over the conventional field-oriented control because it accelerates the torque response and resists to the change of the engine parameters. The designed controllers are evaluated using MATLAB/Simulink, and compared with the conventional controllers (incremental conductance algorithm and field-oriented control). The robust control scheme of the entire system has increased the hydraulic power by up to 23% during the system start-up and up to 10% in steady state.

Abstract
Direct Power Control with switching table control produces irregular ripples and variable switching frequency. In the improved DPC of PWM rectifiers using fractional control period of the active voltage vector and the rest period for the null vector not only makes it line side inductance independent of the circuit and is very simple to implement due to the duty cycle concept. By simulation it is identified that the level of distortion as well as regulation of the DC link voltage with control of power factor improves the overall performance of the drive. The improved Direct Power Control (DPC) PWM methodology is comprehensively analyzed and studied for three phase rectifiers and compared with the classical DPC with PLL. The MATLAB simulations shows the effectiveness in obtaining unity power factor and constant dc link voltage control. The power ripples are considerably reduced and input sinusoidal grid currents are obtained.

This paper deals with non-integer internal model control (FIMC) based proportional- integral-derivative(PID) design for load frequency control (LFC) of single area nonreheated thermal power system under parameter divergence and random load disturbance. Firstly, a fractional second order plus dead time(SOPDT) reduced system model is obtained using genetic algorithm through step error minimization. Secondly, a FIMC based PID controller is designed for single area power system based on reduced system model. Proposed controller is equipped with single area non-reheated thermal power system. The resulting controller is tested using MATLAB/SIMULINK under various conditions. The simulation results show that the controller can accommodate system parameter uncertainty and load disturbance. Further, simulation shows that it maintains robust performance as well as minimizes the effect of load fluctuations on frequency deviation. Finally, the proposed method applied to two area power system to show the effectiveness.

A voltage sensitivity index application for power system load shedding consid...IJAEMSJORNAL
This paper proposes a method for calculating the minimum amount of power load needed to shed and distributing it for each load bus in order to recover the frequency and voltage back to the allowable range. Based on the consideration of the primary control of the turbine governor and the reserve power of the generators for secondary control, the minimum amount of load shedding was calculated in order to recover the frequency of the power system. Computation and analysis of Voltage Sensitivity Index (VSI) of the load bus to prioritize distribution of the amount power load shedding at these positions. The lower the load bus have the Voltage Sensitivity Index (VSI), the higher the amount of load shedding will shed and vice versa. With this technique, frequency and voltage value are still within allowable range, and a large amount of load shedding could be avoided, hence, saved from economic losses, and customer service interruption. The effectiveness of the proposed method tested on the IEEE 37 bus 9 generators power system standard has demonstrated the effectiveness of this method.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
