This document describes the design, analysis, and simulation of a double wishbone suspension system for a formula student racing vehicle. The authors first discuss the basic parameters and requirements for the suspension system. They then describe the detailed design of the knuckle, wishbones, and helical coil spring. Finite element analysis is conducted on these components using ANSYS to analyze stresses and deformations. Finally, dynamic simulation of the full suspension system is performed using ADAMS software to analyze how kinematic parameters like camber angle and roll steer change with wheel travel. The results of the simulation match the designed parameters and help validate the suspension system design.
Static balance occurs when the center of gravity of an object is on the axis of rotation. This allows the object to remain stationary, with the axis horizontal, without the application of any braking force. Static balance does not tend to rotate due to the force of gravity.

Abstract The function of suspension system is to absorb vibrations due to rough terrains or road disturbances and to provide stability under circumstances like accelerating, cornering, uneven road, braking, loading and unloading etc. Control arm is one of the most important part of the suspension system, as it joins the steering knuckle to the vehicle frame. Also suspension arm is responsible for up and down movement of wheels when hitting bumps. It is also designed to maximize the friction between tire contacts, patch the road surface to provide vehicle stability under any circumstances. It can be seen in many types of the suspensions like wishbone or double wishbone suspensions. Many times it is also called as A-type control arm. In this study control arm was reverse engineered. Reverse engineering refers to the process of obtaining a CAD model from an existing physical part. CAD model was prepared using CATIA v5 software and finite element analysis was done using ANSYS 14.5 software by importing the parasolid file to ANSYS. The model is subjected to loading and boundary conditions and then analyzed using the FEA techniques. The static structural analysis was done to find out the stress, deformation and safety factor of component. The model was meshed using 10-noded tetrahedral elements. Result obtained from the analysis were studied to check whether the design is safe or not. In some cases the stresses becomes more than safe limit. In that case optimization approach is carried out to increase the structural strength of the component. AN ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE (WAP-4)” in Indian Railways. It involves a list of information on
the various parts of a conventional type bogie and also the various advantages of different types of
suspension and damping systems installed. Detailed explanation of various electrical and controls of
the locomotive were described in the report. Various physical testing methods of springs were
focused under suspension chapter. This report isn’t just focused on the conventional type loco, but
also gives detailed differences observed between the 3-phase bogies from the conventional type loco.
In electrified railways, the traction power systems carry power to trains and their reliability is vital to
the quality of train services. There are many components in the traction power system, from interface
with utility distribution network to contacts with trains, and they are physically located along the rail
line. Subject to usage, environment, and ageing conditions of components deteriorate with time.
Regular maintenance has to be carried out to restore their conditions and prevent them from failure.
However, the decisions on the suitable length of maintenance intervals often lead railway operators
to the dilemma of minimizing both risk of failure and operation cost. In the last 20 years, there has
been a gigantic acceleration in railway traction development. This has run in parallel with the
development of power electronics and microprocessors. What have been the accepted norms for the
industry for, sometimes, 80 years, have suddenly been thrown out and replaced by fundamental

This paper focuses on the designing, simulation and fabrication of brake disc and a constant speed two stage reduction gearbox for an All Terrain Vehicle ATV . In our paper, we have presented an efficient gearbox and brake disc which is lightweight and long lasting. CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
