Poor Law Of Homelessness Essay
To start to talk about homelessness we need to understand why there is homelessness and the root of
the problem. It may be hard to unscramble the issue from the beginning. The following information
was obtained from The History of Public Welfare in New York City, 1609 1866 by Schneider, David
M. We can start with the Poor Law which is the Act for the Relief of the Poor. The 1683 Poor Law
replaced the patchworks system of laws relating to the poor that had existed in the English colony of
New York. Passed by the provincial assembly, the colony s legislative body, the new law applied to
New York City, Staten Island, Long Island, and the upstate counties and created a system similar to the
one that already existed in the parts of the colony that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

principle of local responsibility for care of the poor in the post Revolutionary state of New York. In
the immediate aftermath of the American Revolution, the state passed its first poor law in 1784. This
act for the settlement relief of the poor kept largely intact the system of poor relief that had been in
place in colonial New York. This new poor law set the specifications for settlement and legal
residency in New York City. The few settled were eligible for public relief. In order be eligible people
have to be born in New York City, paid taxes for two years, or worked the duty of public office for a
year. At the same time foreigners could also claim settlement if they were able to provide written
notice of intent to settle and stayed in the city for 40 days. Once again certain laws that were created to

Examples Of Alienation In The Road
Wole Soyinka s play, The Road, touches upon on varied issues prevalent in society. Culture, society,
humanity, spiritualism and religion are some of the issues focussed upon. Life s meaninglessness and
absurdity in a postcolonial world forms the hoof of human character. It results in linguistic, mental and
spiritual alienation of modern man. Quintessential man holds on to the contents within his reach. The
transition is the only source on which he keeps the foothold. This paper is an effort to throw light on
the predicament and dilemma of man beset with multifarious projections of self and society. It also
leads the path to spiritual state of man through transition and also surfaces Soyinka s quest in live
transition between life and death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dbq Who Killed Reconstruction Essay
Do you ever wonder who really killed Reconstruction? Reconstruction was the period between 1865
1877 where the North was trying to help African Americans gain political equality. Reconstruction
gave freedmen their freedom through the 13th amendment, citizenship and civil rights through the
14th amendment, and the right to vote for the 15th amendment. People such as carpetbaggers,
Northerners who went south to help with Reconstruction and scalawags, southern whites who
supported Reconstruction, were supporters of Reconstruction. However, many white supremacist
groups such as the Ku Klux Klan didn t and even tried to intimidate freedmen and Republicans to try
to bring an end to Reconstruction and equal rights for freed slaves. From this, it shows that
Reconstruction died of two causes, northern neglect and southern resistance. However, I think
northern neglect was the primary cause of the end of Reconstruction. ... Show more content on

For example, Northerners were starting to feel indifferent about events in the South as the North grew
weary of the Negro Question and the government supporting carpetbaggers (Doc. C, Danzer). Also,
according to the cartoon, Grant is diving in the barrel to try to find all the scandals, which means that
because of the scandals, the North will focus more on the scandals than on Reconstruction (Doc. C,
cartoon). The North was also starting to view freedmen in a racist way, saying that they were unfit for
the proper exercise of political duties because of them being slaves for so long, they weren t capable
of running a government without assistance (Doc. D, Richardson). They also racially depicted African
Americans as fat, loud, and undisciplined politicians (Doc. D,

Problem of Congestion in Cellular Network
Shiva Nageswara Rao Bandereddy (sbandere@hawk.iit.edu)
College of Science Department
Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA.
Abstract In the next few years there will be an exponential grow in mobile data traffic due to the
tremendous growth in mobile data like audio, video kind of different multimedia application. Cellular
network operators invest huge amount to make their infrastructure better like installing new cell tower
and offloading data traffic from cellular to the Wi Fi so that they can efficiently prevent congestion.
We all have observed call drops during the conversation at some time which is very annoying and so
this congestion problem gives hard time to customer and so the service provider too. In this project, I
want to research what are the main reason for the congestion of the cellular network and how it can be
avoided or minimized.
Index Terms Mobile, CAGR, Cisco, Congestion
I. INTRODUCTION
Congestion of networks is a network state where a node of link carries huge amount of data that may
deteriorate network service quality, resulting in queuing delay, frame or data packet loss and the
blocking of new connections. There could be a possible reason for a congestion like insufficient
bandwidth, when network data exceeds its capacity.
Wireless mobile network is independent?
When we think of a cellular network it is not a completely wireless network. No one has completely
independent wireless network.

Audit Risk in the Brave New World
Audit amp; taxation | Audit Risk in the Brave New World | Audit Risk Model | | | 6/27/2010 |

INTRODUCTION
The audit risk model has provided a conceptual framework for auditing practice for more than 40
years. Despite practical difficulties in implementation and criticisms of its theoretical foundation, the
model has been fairly effective in helping auditors analyze risks and use that analysis to determine the
nature, timing, and extent of audit procedures (especially substantive procedures) in audits of financial
statements. The audit risk model provides a conceptual framework for the risk assessment standards.
In recent years, auditors have tried to apply the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are: * ISA 315, Understanding the Entity and its Environment and Assessing the Risks of
Material Misstatements * ISA 330, The Auditor s Procedures in Response to Assessed Risks * ISA
500 (Revised), Audit Evidence.
The requirements in these newly issued risk standards represent significant changes to the standards
governing audits of financial statements. They enable the auditors to focus more clearly on areas
where there is a greater risk of misstatement of the financial statements. The belief is that these risk
standards will increase audit quality. This is as a result of better risk assessments through a more
detailed understanding of the entity and its environment, including internal control, and improved
design and performance of audit procedures to respond to assessed risks of material misstatements.
The improved linkage of audit procedures and assessed risks is expected to result in a greater
concentration of audit effort on areas where there is a greater risk of material misstatements.
The scope of each of the risk standards is reflected in the introduction to the standards, and can be
summarized as follows.
ISA 315
This standard provides guidance on performing audit procedures to obtain a broader understanding of
the entity and its environment, including its internal control, and on assessing risks of material
misstatement. The IAASB recognises that there may be specific considerations relevant to the audit of

Caprese Research Paper
Pizza or paradise is the question I ask when I get such a delicious treat. Pizza was created in Italy and
is made into many different styles all around the world. I decided to try a different place near me this
past weekend. I went twice; once on Saturday to dine in and again on Tuesday for take out to get both
experiences of this establishment. This pizzeria is called Caprese. It is a locally owned and operated
establishment that have been doing this for over 35 years. Pizza is one of my favorite foods, and I
consider myself somewhat of a pizza connoisseur. When I arrived at Caprese s parking lot, it
immediately gave a good impression of a small, locally owned pizzeria. Considering that it is located
inside part of a strip mall, it really stands out Outside were nice cobblestone walls with a ... Show

usually like garlic or olive oil in most cases. However, when I take a bite of their bread, which is just
slightly crispy, the flavors melt in your mouth. Their garlic knots give the customers the confidence to
order more food since the customers can tell they are not messing around. I ordered an 18 pepperoni
pizza and when it came out, it was probably the most euphoric smell I have ever experienced from
pizza. The smell alone made me extremely impatient, waiting to dive into my food. The first bite was
the most memorable moment when I first tasted the amazing combination of flavors that this pizza
contained. Nothing in the pizza overpowered any other ingredient. It was so well balanced and the
quality of the ingredients was a good reason the pizza was not cheap. The pizza I received on my take
out was wonderful as well, but it was soggier than the one I had when dining in. It was not as well
prepared in my opinion but still beats any chain restaurant to

Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Dating all the way back to ancient Buddhist and Yogi practices, Mindfulness Based Therapy (MBT)
has been implemented to treat anxiety and mood based disorders (Hofmann, 2010). Mindfulness is a
process that leads a specific mental state where there is a nonjudgmental awareness of what is going
inside and outside of the person who is having the experience (Hofmann, 2010). Anxiety is a mental
disorder that keeps a person in a constant state of worry, nervousness, and unease. This disorder can
cause many disruptions in a person s life like being unable to properly communication with another

Slaters Project
Report on the distribution of slaters in different level of soil pH
Introduction
Slater (woodlouse), Biological name Porcellio scaber, is probably the most common species in New
Zealand. They belong to the biological class Crustacea. Their size is about 17mm in length. They have
rough exoskeleton and usually in dark grey colour. They have 7 pairs of legs, each pair is attached to
the underneath of each thorax segment. Their body consists into three sections: head, thorax and
abdomen, these are often fused together so that it is difficult to be sure where each section starts or
ends. Most slaters can live for 2 4 years, although most die as juveniles. āž¢ Habitat

Smooth and seal the cut area with glue gun or blu tack. To help slaters to stay at a stress free level, use
black ink to colour the whole choice chamber as they prefer low light intensity. 3. On each laboratory
tissue paper, trace and cut 6 circles with 8.5cm diameter. 4. Prepare pH solutions in each little bottle.
The pH solutions used for the experiment are pH4, pH5, pH6, pH7, pH8, pH9. Use the pH meter to
measure all the solution before staring each trial, to ensure each pH level is accurate. Record the data
in logbook. If there is some variation in the pH solution, try to use buffer solution or salt solution

pH solutions. Each of the 5 dishes around the outside will fill up with different pH solution: pH4, pH5,
pH6, pH8 and pH9. Close the lids afterwards. The control dish will fill up with pH7. 6. Gather 10
slaters in a plastic bottle then place them into control dish. Close the lid as soon as possible. Check if
there are any gaps can allow the slaters run away, if there are, use more blu tack to seal it. Place a
black paper on top of the choice chamber in other to make a dark condition for the slaters. They are

Upheaval and Renewal in Egypt and Syria
According to Cleveland, the concept of upheval and renewal can be considered a common feature for
the countries in the Middle East in the 1970s. After the formation of independent states, one can notice
a general tendence in Arab republics towards the consolidation of their power. This essay aims at
comparing and contrasting this process in Egypt and Syria starting from 1970, year in which both
countries saw the coming into power of new leaders, Anwar Sadat and Hafiz Al Asad, and a
subsequent change from the previous regime s policies. Given the shortage of space and the
complexity of the matter, the focus will be only on the most evident aspects of authoritarian power
consolidation under those two leaders without going too much into ... Show more content on

In Syria, Al Asad used the Ba th party for the same purpose. Under his direct control, it indoctrinates
the population into the cult of his personality and the principles of his regime. The Ba th was a critical
actor in the reproduction of the system s populist identity . Being in the party was the only way to
access higher education and to find a good job given the complex networ of Ba thist patronage that
starting from the president unrolled downwards covering all areas of society. There was no room for
opposition at all. This system lasted until the end of the Cold War, when in order to adapt to the
democratisation trend and avoid Western powers criticism, the regime introduced parliamentary
elections in 1990 involving for the first time a small number of private sectors representative from
outside the Ba th. But most of the seats were won by the party after an expected triumph. The
following year elections were called for the presidency and Al Asad started his fourth mandate with
99.8% of votes . This democratic changes were introduced fairly late compared to the Egypt s ones,
but they had the same cosmetic features.
Though they both were put in power by the military, Al Asad and Sadat, in order to consolidate their
power, walked opposite ways to their relationship with the army. The Syrian President relied mostly

Postman s Analysis of Brave New World
Postman s Analysis of Brave New World
As analyzed by social critic Neil Postman, Huxley s vision of the future, portrayed in the novel Brave
New World, holds far more relevance to present day society than that of Orwell s classic 1984. Huxley
s vision was simple: it was a vision of a trivial society, drowned in a sea of pleasure and ignorant of
knowledge and pain, slightly resembling the world of today. In society today, knowledge is no longer
appreciated as it has been in past cultures, in turn causing a deficiency in intelligence and will to learn.
Also, as envisioned by Huxley, mind altering substances are becoming of greater availability ... Show

Understanding Key Ideas And Issues
Section 1 Understanding key ideas and issues After viewing this film I understood the importance of
preserving natural resources. In the film, Man of Steel, the idea of preserving, against exploiting
natural resources is dramatized. Clarke s birth world Krypton was driven to the point of destruction
due to the overuse of natural resources. Kryptonians exploited all of the planets natural resources and
the planet couldn t function correctly and the world exploded from the inside. This came after Clarke s
birth father had warned the leaders of Krypton not to harvest Krypton s core, To harvest the core
would be suicide. It accelerates the process of core explosion, depleting our energy reserves . We as
humans, are exploiting close to all of our natural resources without second thought. We chop down
trees for fires, buildings etc. and by doing so we are tampering with our fragile environment,
unbalancing the oxygen to carbon dioxide ratio and making our air polluted. We are also overusing
and exploiting fossil fuels. Fossil fuels consist of oil, coal and gas. Fossil fuels are very important for
humans. We use them every day, of every week, of every year. Fossil fuels are used to fuel cars and
airplanes, power electricity plants, and heat our homes. They are also used to make medicines,
cosmetics, plastics, synthetic fabrics, and lubricants. When you brushed your teeth this morning, you
used a product made from fossil fuels toothpaste. Look at your shoes they are a

The book Napoleon s buttons was an informative story that mixed slow and confusing chemistry with
history. This mix allowed a history buff like me to get involved with the chemical make up and
structure of common elements. Penny Le Couteur and Jay Burreson used this book to explain their
theories on how key historical events are related to the chemical make up of important elements. In
essay after essay they explain the history and events. In addition, they go further in depth to explain
the details of particular elements and why they are important. The historical aspects of this book are
what grabbed my attention. The long string of facts otherwise would have been too confusing for even
the smartest of readers. For example, the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From a historical perspective it was intriguing to discover how dyes affected the hierarchy in the
ancient world. The repeated use of dyes represented a transition in humanity from simple hunting and
gathering societies; to well developed structured governments and economies where people focused
less on survival and more on status. Colors in ancient times represented political, military, and social
status. Without the discovery of dyes kings would be clothed just like the normal people giving them a
less godly appearance and less power. Even today certain connotations exist with colors like black for
evil white for good, etc... The authors include this essay to demonstrate man s first foray into
chemistry by mixing and blending dyes to create more extravagant colors to sell. The lust for colorful
clothes drove vendors to create more eccentric dyes, thereby forcing them to utilize experimental
chemistry to create new shades and hues. The book here focuses too much on the historical aspects. I
can see the relationship but it is weak and describing the chemical make up of colors doesn t explain
why it relates to history. Essay twelve discusses a dark time for chemists. Suddenly, in the mid 1500 s
chemists went from being priests and healers to witches and devils. Chemistry during this period is
limited and men known as alchemists ran the show. These men used herbs metals and spices to create
useful substances and herbal remedies. Helpful as they

Finding A Bore Tide
Introduction:
Daylight hours are dependent on sunrise and sunset times for each day which are dependent on
seasonal change. The number of daylight hours can be represented by a periodic function. This
periodic function can help Alaskan Council predict daylight hours for tourist travelling to watch their
Bore Tide. A Bore Tide is a tidal phenomenon in which the leading edge of the incoming tide forms a
wave (or waves) of water that travels up a river or narrow bay against the direction of the river or bay
s current. Anchorage, Alaska is known for its famous Bore Tides. These bore tides occur at least once
a day during high and low tide. Yet, health warnings are applied to viewing bore tides during low tide.

[2Ļ€/365 (t 81)]+744). As a regression
analysis the function itself was used to find daylight hours. The hours were then compared to the
original data points. This comparison resulted in a percentage error being recorded. (Refer to
Appendix 5 for the results of the function and percentage errors). The highest percentage error
recorded was 7.35% on February 1st 2011. This error could be because February has 29 days in a leap
year but 2011 data was used. The error could also occur because only 24 data points were used, if
more data points were used a more precise graph would have been generated leaving less space for
error.
Question 1e:
Simple deriving and calculus was used to verify that the equation L=417 sinā”
[2Ļ€/365 (t 81)]+744 for
when the longest and shortest day of the year occur. The derivative of the function was started by
using the chain rule(dy/dx=dy/du*du/dx). The derivative was found to be: dy/dx=2Ļ€/365 417
cosā”
(2Ļ€/365 t 162Ļ€/365). dy/dx was made to equal 0 therefore the equation will end up looking like:
0=cosā”
(2Ļ€/365 t 162Ļ€/365). When dealing with a cos curve on a unit circle cos can only be 0 at 90

19th Century Japan
As 19th century Europe and America modernized, acquiring better medical, military, communication,
and maritime technologies; they expanded and transformed the world. Required to handle increasing
western pressure in the mid 19th century, China, the Ottoman Empire, and Japan had to introduce
western liberal ideals supporting industrialization, nationalism, or economic reforms; whether
circumventing or incorporating them, they thus created the foundation for their future. Reform meant
to re structure, to change for the better, but also implied there had been a need to improve and added
value to that change. Introducing liberal reform movements to counter the spread of western influence
was a necessity for all non western societies; understanding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

But in the 19th century, Japan recognized its isolationist policies inadequacy and the new international
power shift when Europe and the United States forced it to sign the Kanagawa and Yedo treaties

Honda Toshiaki criticized the Tokugawa, demanding an enlightened government , prophesying clearly
Japanese success if it adopted Western reforms to learn the effective use of gunpowder, to develop
metallurgy, to increase trade, and to colonize. The Tokugawa collapse led to the 1868 Meiji
Restoration, reinstalling the emperor, and reforming Japanese political and social structure mirroring
western powers . Directing the innovations and not afraid to challenge the social order thanks to its

WomanĀ“s Right on Abortions
Personal Choices Women s reproductive rights have been endangered from early history. A woman s
job included housework and child birth. Around 1920, women started receiving their choices and
rights. In the 21st century, women are looked at with fairness and receive equal opportunities, but
there is one right being stripped from women: the choice of using birth control and aborting
pregnancy. Society frowns upon aborting a fetus in the womb, but it fails to realize the circumstantial
standing each woman is placed in and should accept the decision a woman decides for her future
whether it is to use birth control or abort her pregnancy. Women today may have more choices but it
has not always been this way. Women of the past often didn t get much a choice about their sexuality
(Bringle). However by 1950s, a pill to prevent pregnancy was created. Though this contraception was
created, it was hard to get. A birth control advocate, Margaret Sanger, attacked legislative restrictions
on birth control , informed many women the uses and positive aspects of using contraception, and
encouraged doctors to give contraception guidance by opening the first birth control clinic in New
York in 1916 (Bringle). Even after the widespread information of birth control, the accessibility of it
today is low. This pill is a necessity for women in today s world and should be made more accessible.
To use contraception, a doctor has to prescribe it and this prescription is rarely covered by

The Effect Of Exercise On Cardiovascular Function
Introduction:
Tokui and Hirakoba (2007) define exercise efficiency as the given rate of power output in relation to
the amount of energy expended in a given time (as cited in Gaesser and Brooks, 1975). Efficiency
during exercise varies due to several biomechanical and physiological factors namely, contraction
velocity and the force produced by muscles (Tokui and Hirakoba). Research shows that exercise
efficiency ranges differ among the various types of exercise modalities commonly used in clinical and
recreational settings (McArdle, F. Katch, and V. Katch, 2010). Measuring exercise efficiency allows
researchers to examine which modalities of exercise are most efficient, enabling athletes and
individuals in rehabilitation to choose the proper mode of training to fit their needs. During
rehabilitation or training, improving cardiovascular function is a essential measure of outcome; thus,
doctors, physical therapists and coaches are left to decide which mode of exercise will better yield
results based on an individual s abilities and disabilities (Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003).
Different exercise modes may elicit varying physiological responses; therefor professionals aiming to
augment their patient or athlete s rehabilitation and training regimens should consider the latter
(Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Different exercise modes target variable body segments, some
being full body and others targeting only the lower or upper body. Due to differing numbers of

If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin and John...
Andrew Bernstein, an author and professor of philosophy, once said, Nothing is given to man on earth
struggle is built into the nature of life, and conflict is possible the hero is the man who lets no obstacle
prevent him from pursuing the values he has chosen. Although many people transform into someone
they are not and forget what they believe in during challenging times, the true man fights to remain
loyal to his morals in the toughest of times. Martin Luther King, Jr. s quote about the true neighbor
exposing his real character and virtue in times of challenge and controversy is revealed in James
Baldwin s novel If Beale Street Could Talk and John Steinbeck s novel The Grapes of Wrath. In
Baldwin s novel, Mr. Hayward sticks to his principles in a time of controversy as he risks his
reputation for the good of others; in Steinbeck s novel, Jim Casy sacrifices his life for the welfare of
others, while refusing to give up his beliefs. As readers witness characters remaining true to
themselves during hardships, as well as risking a part of themselves to benefit others, they are
reminded through the powerful messages in literature to be cautious of their own reactions to distress
and obstacles. In If Beale Street Could Talk, Baldwin reveals that the character in this case, Mr.
Hayward who remains honest to himself and risks his/her reputation for others portrays the true
neighbor. For one thing, Mr. Hayward, the lawyer, refuses to accept the racial stereotypes

Imperialism Question
Week 5 Imperialism Questions 1. Even though most of Latin America became independent of
European colonial rule in the 19c, what were some of the cultural influences and other ties that still
existed between the two continents? Between 1810 and 1825, all the Spanish territories on the
American mainland gain their sovereignty from Spain. Simultaneously, the power of the Catholic
Church diminishes, including its patronage of the visual arts. During these war torn years, cultural
production declines. These years witness political reform and the beginnings of self fashioned
societies. Caudillos or military dictators initially fill the vacuum left by the break up of colonial rule,
including Juan Manuel de Rosas (1793 1877) in Argentina, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

7. What was the late 19c definition of the word imperialism? How has that definition changed in the
post World War II era? It meant complete domination, and it changed again as Germany took over
everything in WWII and than it meant to make a sort of treaty with another country. 8. Identify some
of the early 20c opponents of European imperialism. What were their explanations for the imperial
fever that dominated most European countries [and the United States] at that time [see docs. on pp.
910 912]? Ghandi was one of the opponents, and they did a silent protest and nonviolent protest in
order to rebel these forms of imperialism. 9. Why do modern historians feel uncomfortable with these
early 20c explanations for imperialism? Because it was a time of devastation, many deaths, lots of
tragedy and really abuse and exploitation at that point in time. 10. What were some of the political,
economic, social, intellectual, and military factors that explained the sudden increase in the pace and
importance of European imperialism in the late 19c? The essential impetus was the Industrial
Revolution which led to a search for (and control of) sources of raw materials and captive markets to
sell manufactured goods, and become a world power with the most colonies and most money. 11. How
did their colonial experiences help make them good civil servants back home and vice versa?

Using the Correlational Method to Study the Divided Brain
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the correlational method as a means for examining the
relationship between functions of the left and right hemispheres. I will compare the performance of
people with intact brains with the performance of so called split brain patients. In many ways, the
brains of these two groups are very similar. 1a. The brain stem is found in the deepest part of the brain.
The brainstem controls the automatic survival functions of the body, such as breathing. There are no
differences between the function of the normal brainstem and the brain of a split brain patient. The
brainstem will still supply the automatic survival functions of the body. 1b. The hippocampus is found
in the limbic system along with the amygdala, the hypothalamus. The hippocampus is in charge of
allowing the body to process information into memories. Without the hippocampus, there is no way
for new memories to be created. There is no anatomical difference between the hippocampus in the
normal brain and a split brain. 1c. The corpus callosum is found in the center of the brain. The role it
plays as a part of the brain is it connects both the left and right hemispheres of the brain, allowing
them to work and interact together as a whole system. The difference between the anatomy of the
corpus callosum in a split brain patient versus someone without a

My Sonnet Essay
Kowsalya Ganesan (14) Class: 207
Poem 1 (Shakespearean Sonnet) To be graded
Once A Friend
My laughter is empty and hollow
My feelings are wrecked within and often, feigned
Wounded by sheer agony not so shallow
So much so that my breathing is strained
T was a tale of two carefree and mirthful souls
Walking on a bed of roses in delight
Before they knew it, it evolved into strolls
Nearing a dismal end nowhere in sight
Tearing in painful joy and deep despair
Those bittersweet memories reach a dead end
A relationship I cannot repair
And this dreadful kiss of death, was once a friend
The haunting past I can never mend
She was once a friend, my very own friend

Once A Friend
This poem is about losing a friend. Without her friend, the speaker is deprived of happiness. Even
when the speaker laughs or smiles, it is faked. The speaker was affected so much that breathing
became a burden. Initially, they were elated but soon, it turned into a path with a bitter end. Kiss of
death is a phrase, which refers to something that causes failure. The turn at the ending couplet shows
the speaker s reflection that there is no point in feeling nostalgic, as she cannot change the past.
I Can See You From Up Here
This poem is about a dead person requesting for her loved one not to cry by claiming that she is not
dead. The speaker is trying to assure her loved one that she is always watching her from above. The
speaker objectifies herself as the clouds, birds, sun and stars as they are high in the sky, where Heaven
is thought to be. In the 5th stanza, the speaker states, suffered but in delight , as she suffered but since
she does not want her loved one to cry, she tells that she is delighted. The speaker also advises her
loved one not to revisit the past by retaining

How Did The Scientific Revolution Influence The Art World
On the surface you wouldn t think that the scientific revolution had that big of an influence on the art
world but I think that it s clear that it did, from new architecture techniques, on to new ways of
constructing paintings and paint itself, science served as one of the foundations for the advancement
of art.
The scientific revolution was beginning around the same time period as the renaissance, so it s no
surprise that one influenced the other. Many of these advancements can be seen in Leonardo s The
Last Supper . Not only is this painting technically beautiful but Leonardo s deep understanding of
human anatomy comes through in many of his paintings of people. The painting also uses perspective
lines to draw your attention to the center of the painting towards Christ, and Christ and two of his
followers on either side of him form a perfect triangle. These spacial and perspective understanding
were really perfected in the Renaissance and really aid the painting. ... Show more content on

Juan Snachez de Cotan s Quince, Cabbage, Melon, and Cucumber , is a really good example of this
and has some scientific advances too. The painting itself looks very true to life and is filled with deep

Some argue that the items in the painting are meant to represent celestial bodies, which due to drastic
increases in technology Cotan would have a much greater understanding of, even if this is not the case

The Creation of Sunflowers
In a land far away lived two groups of people. One group worshipped the Sun as there god, named
Helios. While the other group worshipped Terra, the earth god. The two groups lived in the same
town, and they would constantly argue about who s right. Most of the Sun worshippers were rather
wealthy, while those who worshiped Terra were poor. In the town there lived a young girl named
Elaine Rae. She and her family all worshipped Helios. Elaine was destine to marry a young man
named Jay, he was a rich young boy that was next in line to rule the kingdom. But she liked a boy
named Kai, of the those who honored the Earth as their god. One day a riot struck in the center of
town. This was the biggest one yet. Five civilians had been killed. The cities council had to do
something to stop this. But, since he honored the Sun he didn t want to go through all the trouble of
creating another riot, so he set it off for a while. Kai was a boy who thought past many others, a truly
intelligent young boy. He believed that sun and earth were two power sources of life. He believed both
gods should be worshiped together, as one. He made secret gatherings to preach out his ideas, many
young men and women came and also started to believe in his ideas as well. He would tell them The
sun brings us light, happiness, and growth; while earth gives us life, a home, and food. And, that why
we should worship both. Elaine, one day, finds out about these secret gatherings and is curious about

Diagnostic And Diagnostic Classification System Essay
Introduction
Mental health disorders has been very strenuous and complex to understand and diagnose, many
diagnosis criteria such as DSM have been used to determine the disorders and medication (Szabo,
2011). I am asserting that Yes, Psychopathology diagnostic classification systems (such as the DSM or
ICD) are of little use to health professionals and patients because behaviours are often misidentified
and medicalised . To assert this, this paper is going to explore four main topics that contribute to the
little use of psychopathology diagnostic classification system, these include downsides for using DSM
diagnostic criteria, Medicalisation and misdiagnose, consequences of medicalisation to the health
professionals and community and Psychological trauma in patients. Szabo, (2011) states that
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) has been utilised to diagnose and
categorize mental illness in psychiatry. However this diagnosis is focused on definitions of operational
rather than the cause (Warelow Holmes, 2011). This paper will first explore the downside of using
DSM criteria to diagnose mental health.
Downsides for using DSM diagnostic criteria
Using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder as a diagnostic method has been of
little use for clients and health professionals as this method gives indications that are similar for nearly
all mental health issues (Johnstone, 2008). The fact is that there is no individuals who can claim

Pros And Cons Of Drug Testing In Schools
Imagine if your child or you walked into school and was randomly tested for drug residue. You or
your child did nothing wrong and they have no evidence that he or she was taking drugs. How would
you feel about that? Would you be alright with that? This is brought up because this topic of being
drug tested in schools randomly is being argued about quite often. Drug tests should not be mandatory
for students because they violate students rights, are very costly, and are not an effective way of
getting rid of drug use in schools. Firstly, drug tests should not be required for students because they
violate students rights. Drug tests sometimes increase feelings of paranoia and guilt, which is not
right. The athletes have not done anything wrong, yet the school treats them like they have with these
drug tests. A boy was trying out for a sport and in order to be able to play, he had to take a drug test.
His father was very against it, as well as his son. York considered it a violation of his son s privacy
and thought it sent the message that his son was guilty until proven innocent (McLure). In the
American court system we follow the rule of Innocent until proven guilty . The drug tests are going
against the traditional American court system that our Founding Fathers created in the early years of
our country. They fought for our country and some died. They took the job of setting up guidelines for
our government and country, which most likely was not easy. The most we can

The View Of Love In Romeo And Juliet
Love is one of the only things that nearly every human being is capable of feeling. Like many aspects
of human lives, views on love differ from every individual. Nowhere is this more present than in
William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, where Romeo, a member of the Montague family, and
Juliet, a member of the rivaling Capulet family, find themselves in the circumstances of falling madly
in love with each other. Throughout the play and through the different relationships encountered,
Shakespeare s attitude toward love differs between how Romeo is portrayed to love Juliet, how Juliet
is displayed to love Romeo, and how Juliet s nurse is shown to view love on its own. Romeo s views
on love are most accurately presented when he encounters or ... Show more content on

Through this it is made unmistakable that contradictory to how Romeo and Juliet perceive love, the
nurse views it solely as a means of achieving pleasure. When giving advice to Juliet about a
relationship, the nurse tells Juliet to Go, girl, seek happy nights to happy days (1.3.106). The nurse s
use of raunchy and borderline sexual language (for the time) when referring to love demonstrates that
she finds love to be a way of attaining pleasure. Similarly, when the nurse also attempts to explain to
Juliet that she can still find love in Paris, her attitude toward love is shown: I think you are happy in
this second match, For it excels your first. Or if it did not, Your first is dead, or twere as good he were,
As living here and you no use of him (3.5.222 225). By focusing on the aspects of finding happiness
rather than focusing on true and genuine emotion in Juliet s possible relationships, even in the most
dire of situations, the nurse is unmistakably demonstrated to consider love as being a method of
gaining satisfaction. The nurse, like most other people involved in Romeo and Juliet, has her own
opinions on what love truly is, and with several examples, the nurse is shown to understand love as
solely a mechanism for obtaining pleasure and

Use Of Mobile Phones In School
Oh my gosh! I think I am about to die! I just found out that some schools do not allow students to
have cell phones in school. Modern cell phones are capable of much more than sending text messages
in class, now they are capable of calling someone in case of an emergency. If someone is in need of
help and no one has a cell phone, there is no way anyone could get them help, if someone is bleeding a
lot more than likely they would die if no one calls the emergency center. There is an average of ninety
four percent of students who goof around and play on their cell phones during class or school hours,
that is only six percent of students who could manage to not play on their cell phones until the end of
the day. If someone would like to see if they could manage to get through the day without using a cell
phone, they could try the no cell phone for a day challenge. The no cell phone for a day challenge is
when someone gives their cell phone to their parents and they could not have their cell phone back
until twenty four hours are up, if they could get a day without their cell phone, then they should be
proud of them because they have proved they could get through the day without their phones, If you
do not pass it then you are addicted to the phone and you need to get help. Teachers and principals
should let students have phones at school. Students need phones in school because if someone breaks

Berlin Wall Game
More Than A Game: Research Report
On August 13, 1961, the GDR( German Democratic Republic) began to build a fence with concrete
slabs. This fence and concrete wall would be known as the Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall was built to
keep Western fascists , followers of a political side, out of East Germany. The GDR also wanted them
to stay out because they would weaken the socialist state. In June of 1945, when World War II was
ending, the GDR split the nation into four allied occupation zones. The Eastern part of Germany went
to the Soviet Union, while as the West joined the U.S, Great Britain, France s land (Berlin Wall). The

Sports And Sports For Constructive Alternatives
This March, the Center for Constructive Alternatives series dealt with the topic of Sport and Character.
In today s age, sport and sporting events have become pinnacles of American entertainment, money,
and paparazzi. One is inundated with constant updates regarding football scores, feuds between
athletes, and controversy over refereeing. With sport being such a focus in media and society, it often
seems that sport and character are incompatible. Too often one sees an athlete get caught using illegal
performance enhancing drugs, having an affair, or lying and cheating. Sport appears to be just like any
other secular and commercial entertainment: decadent, impaired, and ultimately characterless. This

Novak then criticized the current news and sports media of today. Upset at how the media were
currently portraying sports, he derided the journalists as amateur social scientists. Instead of trying to
pigeon hole sports into some social science or social experiment , sport should be seen as rituals
concerning human survival on this planet: liturgical enactments of animal perfection and the struggles
of the human spirit to prevail. As Mr. Novak showcased throughout his lecture, sport captures the
struggle of man throughout history. This struggle is personified through the linebacker tackling the
halfback, the pitcher recomposing himself after giving up a run, or a runner shaking off cramping as
she attempts to complete the marathon. Sports are the human experience.
Mr. Schilling s talk set a tone unlike any other. That night, he presented a striking case for why
character is influenced by sport. Drawing on his own personal experiences, Mr. Schilling said that he
has come to learn that you can only gain wisdom through experiences. The experiences through sport
that Mr. Schilling went through ultimately lead to the formation of the man that he is today. Sport also
provides example of and experience with good leadership. Mr. Schilling talked about leadership,
noting that while anyone can be a leader, there are very few leaders in the world. Although Mr.
Schilling had been present among

It may be hard to unscramble the issue from the beginning. The following information was obtained from The History of Public Welfare in New York City, 1609 1866 by Schneider, David M. We can start with the Poor Law which is the Act for the Relief of the Poor. The 1683 Poor Law replaced the patchworks system of laws relating to the poor that had existed in the English colony of New York. Passed by the provincial assembly, the colony s legislative body, the new law applied to New York City, Staten Island, Long Island, and the upstate counties and created a system similar to the one that already existed in the parts of the colony that ... The Poor Law of 1788 highlighted the principle of local responsibility for care of the poor in the post Revolutionary state of New York. In the immediate aftermath of the American Revolution, the state passed its first poor law in 1784. This act for the settlement relief of the poor kept largely intact the system of poor relief that had been in place in colonial New York. This new poor law set the specifications for settlement and legal residency in New York City. The few settled were eligible for public relief. • 4. Dbq Who Killed Reconstruction Essay Do you ever wonder who really killed Reconstruction? Reconstruction was the period between 1865 1877 where the North was trying to help African Americans gain political equality. Reconstruction gave freedmen their freedom through the 13th amendment, citizenship and civil rights through the 14th amendment, and the right to vote for the 15th amendment. People such as carpetbaggers, Northerners who went south to help with Reconstruction and scalawags, southern whites who supported Reconstruction, were supporters of Reconstruction. However, many white supremacist groups such as the Ku Klux Klan didn t and even tried to intimidate freedmen and Republicans to try to bring an end to Reconstruction and equal rights for freed slaves. From this, it shows that Reconstruction died of two causes, northern neglect and southern resistance. However, I think northern neglect was the primary cause of the end of Reconstruction. ... Also, according to the cartoon, Grant is diving in the barrel to try to find all the scandals, which means that because of the scandals, the North will focus more on the scandals than on Reconstruction (Doc. C, cartoon). The North was also starting to view freedmen in a racist way, saying that they were unfit for the proper exercise of political duties because of them being slaves for so long, they weren t capable of running a government without assistance (Doc. Problem Of Congestion Of Cellular Network Essay ļ€  Problem of Congestion in Cellular Network Shiva Nageswara Rao Bandereddy (sbandere@hawk.iit.edu) College of Science Department Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA. Abstract In the next few years there will be an exponential grow in mobile data traffic due to the tremendous growth in mobile data like audio, video kind of different multimedia application. Cellular network operators invest huge amount to make their infrastructure better like installing new cell tower and offloading data traffic from cellular to the Wi Fi so that they can efficiently prevent congestion. We all have observed call drops during the conversation at some time which is very annoying and so this congestion problem gives hard time to customer and so the service provider too. In this project, I want to research what are the main reason for the congestion of the cellular network and how it can be avoided or minimized. Index Terms Mobile, CAGR, Cisco, Congestion I. INTRODUCTION Congestion of networks is a network state where a node of link carries huge amount of data that may deteriorate network service quality, resulting in queuing delay, frame or data packet loss and the blocking of new connections. There could be a possible reason for a congestion like insufficient bandwidth, when network data exceeds its capacity. Wireless mobile network is independent? Asim Khan Submitted By Bilal Khalid INTRODUCTION The audit risk model has provided a conceptual framework for auditing practice for more than 40 years. Despite practical difficulties in implementation and criticisms of its theoretical foundation, the model has been fairly effective in helping auditors analyze risks and use that analysis to determine the nature, timing, and extent of audit procedures (especially substantive procedures) in audits of financial statements. The audit risk model provides a conceptual framework for the risk assessment standards. In recent years, auditors have tried to apply the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These are: * ISA 315, Understanding the Entity and its Environment and Assessing the Risks of Material Misstatements * ISA 330, The Auditor s Procedures in Response to Assessed Risks * ISA 500 (Revised), Audit Evidence. The requirements in these newly issued risk standards represent significant changes to the standards governing audits of financial statements. They enable the auditors to focus more clearly on areas where there is a greater risk of misstatement of the financial statements. The belief is that these risk standards will increase audit quality. This is as a result of better risk assessments through a more detailed understanding of the entity and its environment, including internal control, and improved design and performance of audit procedures to respond to assessed risks of material misstatements. The improved linkage of audit procedures and assessed risks is expected to result in a greater concentration of audit effort on areas where there is a greater risk of material misstatements. The scope of each of the risk standards is reflected in the introduction to the standards, and can be summarized as follows. ISA 315 This standard provides guidance on performing audit procedures to obtain a broader understanding of the entity and its environment, including its internal control, and on assessing risks of material misstatement. The IAASB recognises that there may be specific considerations relevant to the audit of small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I decided to try a different place near me this past weekend. I went twice; once on Saturday to dine in and again on Tuesday for take out to get both experiences of this establishment. This pizzeria is called Caprese. It is a locally owned and operated establishment that have been doing this for over 35 years. Pizza is one of my favorite foods, and I consider myself somewhat of a pizza connoisseur. When I arrived at Caprese s parking lot, it immediately gave a good impression of a small, locally owned pizzeria. It is roll covered in fresh garlic and virgin olive oil. When I tell people I am a picky eater and I do not usually like garlic or olive oil in most cases. Their garlic knots give the customers the confidence to order more food since the customers can tell they are not messing around. I ordered an 18 pepperoni pizza and when it came out, it was probably the most euphoric smell I have ever experienced from pizza. The smell alone made me extremely impatient, waiting to dive into my food. The first bite was the most memorable moment when I first tasted the amazing combination of flavors that this pizza contained. Nothing in the pizza overpowered any other ingredient. It was so well balanced and the quality of the ingredients was a good reason the pizza was not cheap. The pizza I received on my take out was wonderful as well, but it was soggier than the one I had when dining in. It was not as well prepared in my opinion but still beats any chain restaurant to ... After the formation of independent states, one can notice a general tendence in Arab republics towards the consolidation of their power. This essay aims at comparing and contrasting this process in Egypt and Syria starting from 1970, year in which both countries saw the coming into power of new leaders, Anwar Sadat and Hafiz Al Asad, and a subsequent change from the previous regime s policies. Huxley s vision was simple: it was a vision of a trivial society, drowned in a sea of pleasure and ignorant of knowledge and pain, slightly resembling the world of today. In society today, knowledge is no longer appreciated as it has been in past cultures, in turn causing a deficiency in intelligence and will to learn. In the film, Man of Steel, the idea of preserving, against exploiting natural resources is dramatized. Clarke s birth world Krypton was driven to the point of destruction due to the overuse of natural resources. Kryptonians exploited all of the planets natural resources and the planet couldn t function correctly and the world exploded from the inside. This came after Clarke s birth father had warned the leaders of Krypton not to harvest Krypton s core, To harvest the core would be suicide. It accelerates the process of core explosion, depleting our energy reserves . We as humans, are exploiting close to all of our natural resources without second thought. We chop down trees for fires, buildings etc. and by doing so we are tampering with our fragile environment, unbalancing the oxygen to carbon dioxide ratio and making our air polluted. We are also overusing and exploiting fossil fuels. Fossil fuels consist of oil, coal and gas. Fossil fuels are very important for humans. We use them every day, of every week, of every year. Fossil fuels are used to fuel cars and airplanes, power electricity plants, and heat our homes. They are also used to make medicines, cosmetics, plastics, synthetic fabrics, and lubricants. The repeated use of dyes represented a transition in humanity from simple hunting and gathering societies; to well developed structured governments and economies where people focused less on survival and more on status. Colors in ancient times represented political, military, and social status. Without the discovery of dyes kings would be clothed just like the normal people giving them a less godly appearance and less power. Even today certain connotations exist with colors like black for evil white for good, etc... The authors include this essay to demonstrate man s first foray into chemistry by mixing and blending dyes to create more extravagant colors to sell. (Refer to Appendix 5 for the results of the function and percentage errors). The highest percentage error recorded was 7.35% on February 1st 2011. This error could be because February has 29 days in a leap year but 2011 data was used. The error could also occur because only 24 data points were used, if more data points were used a more precise graph would have been generated leaving less space for error. Question 1e: Simple deriving and calculus was used to verify that the equation L=417 sinā” [2Ļ€/365 (t 81)]+744 for when the longest and shortest day of the year occur. Around 1920, women started receiving their choices and rights. In the 21st century, women are looked at with fairness and receive equal opportunities, but there is one right being stripped from women: the choice of using birth control and aborting pregnancy. Society frowns upon aborting a fetus in the womb, but it fails to realize the circumstantial standing each woman is placed in and should accept the decision a woman decides for her future whether it is to use birth control or abort her pregnancy. A birth control advocate, Margaret Sanger, attacked legislative restrictions on birth control , informed many women the uses and positive aspects of using contraception, and encouraged doctors to give contraception guidance by opening the first birth control clinic in New York in 1916 (Bringle). • 18. The Effect Of Exercise On Cardiovascular Function Introduction: Tokui and Hirakoba (2007) define exercise efficiency as the given rate of power output in relation to the amount of energy expended in a given time (as cited in Gaesser and Brooks, 1975). Efficiency during exercise varies due to several biomechanical and physiological factors namely, contraction velocity and the force produced by muscles (Tokui and Hirakoba). Research shows that exercise efficiency ranges differ among the various types of exercise modalities commonly used in clinical and recreational settings (McArdle, F. Katch, and V. Katch, 2010). Measuring exercise efficiency allows researchers to examine which modalities of exercise are most efficient, enabling athletes and individuals in rehabilitation to choose the proper mode of training to fit their needs. During rehabilitation or training, improving cardiovascular function is a essential measure of outcome; thus, doctors, physical therapists and coaches are left to decide which mode of exercise will better yield results based on an individual s abilities and disabilities (Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Different exercise modes may elicit varying physiological responses; therefor professionals aiming to augment their patient or athlete s rehabilitation and training regimens should consider the latter (Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Andrew Bernstein, an author and professor of philosophy, once said, Nothing is given to man on earth struggle is built into the nature of life, and conflict is possible the hero is the man who lets no obstacle prevent him from pursuing the values he has chosen. Although many people transform into someone they are not and forget what they believe in during challenging times, the true man fights to remain loyal to his morals in the toughest of times. Martin Luther King, Jr. s quote about the true neighbor exposing his real character and virtue in times of challenge and controversy is revealed in James Baldwin s novel If Beale Street Could Talk and John Steinbeck s novel The Grapes of Wrath. In Baldwin s novel, Mr. Hayward sticks to his principles in a time of controversy as he risks his reputation for the good of others; in Steinbeck s novel, Jim Casy sacrifices his life for the welfare of others, while refusing to give up his beliefs. As readers witness characters remaining true to themselves during hardships, as well as risking a part of themselves to benefit others, they are reminded through the powerful messages in literature to be cautious of their own reactions to distress and obstacles. • 28. Diagnostic And Diagnostic Classification System Essay Introduction Mental health disorders has been very strenuous and complex to understand and diagnose, many diagnosis criteria such as DSM have been used to determine the disorders and medication (Szabo, 2011). I am asserting that Yes, Psychopathology diagnostic classification systems (such as the DSM or ICD) are of little use to health professionals and patients because behaviours are often misidentified and medicalised . To assert this, this paper is going to explore four main topics that contribute to the little use of psychopathology diagnostic classification system, these include downsides for using DSM diagnostic criteria, Medicalisation and misdiagnose, consequences of medicalisation to the health professionals and community and Psychological trauma in patients. Szabo, (2011) states that Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) has been utilised to diagnose and categorize mental illness in psychiatry. However this diagnosis is focused on definitions of operational rather than the cause (Warelow Holmes, 2011). This paper will first explore the downside of using DSM criteria to diagnose mental health. Downsides for using DSM diagnostic criteria Using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder as a diagnostic method has been of little use for clients and health professionals as this method gives indications that are similar for nearly all mental health issues (Johnstone, 2008). • 29. Pros And Cons Of Drug Testing In Schools Imagine if your child or you walked into school and was randomly tested for drug residue. You or your child did nothing wrong and they have no evidence that he or she was taking drugs. How would you feel about that? Would you be alright with that? This is brought up because this topic of being drug tested in schools randomly is being argued about quite often. Drug tests should not be mandatory for students because they violate students rights, are very costly, and are not an effective way of getting rid of drug use in schools. Firstly, drug tests should not be required for students because they violate students rights. Drug tests sometimes increase feelings of paranoia and guilt, which is not right. The athletes have not done anything wrong, yet the school treats them like they have with these drug tests. A boy was trying out for a sport and in order to be able to play, he had to take a drug test. His father was very against it, as well as his son. York considered it a violation of his son s privacy and thought it sent the message that his son was guilty until proven innocent (McLure). In the American court system we follow the rule of Innocent until proven guilty . The drug tests are going against the traditional American court system that our Founding Fathers created in the early years of our country. They fought for our country and some died. They took the job of setting up guidelines for our government and country, which most likely was not easy. The most we can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. The View Of Love In Romeo And Juliet Love is one of the only things that nearly every human being is capable of feeling. Like many aspects of human lives, views on love differ from every individual. Nowhere is this more present than in William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, where Romeo, a member of the Montague family, and Juliet, a member of the rivaling Capulet family, find themselves in the circumstances of falling madly in love with each other. Throughout the play and through the different relationships encountered, Shakespeare s attitude toward love differs between how Romeo is portrayed to love Juliet, how Juliet is displayed to love Romeo, and how Juliet s nurse is shown to view love on its own. Romeo s views on love are most accurately presented when he encounters or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through this it is made unmistakable that contradictory to how Romeo and Juliet perceive love, the nurse views it solely as a means of achieving pleasure. When giving advice to Juliet about a relationship, the nurse tells Juliet to Go, girl, seek happy nights to happy days (1.3.106). The nurse s use of raunchy and borderline sexual language (for the time) when referring to love demonstrates that she finds love to be a way of attaining pleasure. Similarly, when the nurse also attempts to explain to Juliet that she can still find love in Paris, her attitude toward love is shown: I think you are happy in this second match, For it excels your first. Or if it did not, Your first is dead, or twere as good he were, As living here and you no use of him (3.5.222 225). By focusing on the aspects of finding happiness rather than focusing on true and genuine emotion in Juliet s possible relationships, even in the most dire of situations, the nurse is unmistakably demonstrated to consider love as being a method of gaining satisfaction. The nurse, like most other people involved in Romeo and Juliet, has her own opinions on what love truly is, and with several examples, the nurse is shown to understand love as solely a mechanism for obtaining pleasure and ... • 32. Use Of Mobile Phones In School Oh my gosh! I think I am about to die! I just found out that some schools do not allow students to have cell phones in school. Modern cell phones are capable of much more than sending text messages in class, now they are capable of calling someone in case of an emergency. If someone is in need of help and no one has a cell phone, there is no way anyone could get them help, if someone is bleeding a lot more than likely they would die if no one calls the emergency center. There is an average of ninety four percent of students who goof around and play on their cell phones during class or school hours, that is only six percent of students who could manage to not play on their cell phones until the end of the day. If someone would like to see if they could manage to get through the day without using a cell phone, they could try the no cell phone for a day challenge. The no cell phone for a day challenge is when someone gives their cell phone to their parents and they could not have their cell phone back until twenty four hours are up, if they could get a day without their cell phone, then they should be proud of them because they have proved they could get through the day without their phones, If you do not pass it then you are addicted to the phone and you need to get help. Teachers and principals should let students have phones at school. Students need phones in school because if someone breaks into the school, then they would need to call someone to get ... • 34. Berlin Wall Game More Than A Game: Research Report On August 13, 1961, the GDR( German Democratic Republic) began to build a fence with concrete slabs. This fence and concrete wall would be known as the Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall was built to keep Western fascists , followers of a political side, out of East Germany. The GDR also wanted them to stay out because they would weaken the socialist state. In June of 1945, when World War II was ending, the GDR split the nation into four allied occupation zones. In today s age, sport and sporting events have become pinnacles of American entertainment, money, and paparazzi. One is inundated with constant updates regarding football scores, feuds between athletes, and controversy over refereeing. With sport being such a focus in media and society, it often seems that sport and character are incompatible. Too often one sees an athlete get caught using illegal performance enhancing drugs, having an affair, or lying and cheating. Sport appears to be just like any other secular and commercial entertainment: decadent, impaired, and ultimately characterless. This month s Center for Constructive ... Upset at how the media were currently portraying sports, he derided the journalists as amateur social scientists. Instead of trying to pigeon hole sports into some social science or social experiment , sport should be seen as rituals concerning human survival on this planet: liturgical enactments of animal perfection and the struggles of the human spirit to prevail. As Mr. Novak showcased throughout his lecture, sport captures the struggle of man throughout history. This struggle is personified through the linebacker tackling the halfback, the pitcher recomposing himself after giving up a run, or a runner shaking off cramping as she attempts to complete the marathon. Sports are the human experience. Mr. Schilling s talk set a tone unlike any other. That night, he presented a striking case for why character is influenced by sport. Drawing on his own personal experiences, Mr. Schilling said that he has come to learn that you can only gain wisdom through experiences. The experiences through sport that Mr. Schilling went through ultimately lead to the formation of the man that he is today. Sport also provides example of and experience with good leadership.
