Chelsea McMillen s Persuasive Speech Outline
General Purpose: To persuade my audience
Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience into being in favor of distributing contraceptives
(condoms, birth control pills, spermicides, etc.) in high schools.
Thesis statement: In order to explain why contraceptives are becoming such a necessity in schools
today, I will share how teen parenthood is being glorified, reasons for such an increase in teenage
pregnancies, and how effective distributing contraceptives would be.
INTRODUCTION

2. Since then, pregnancy rates have risen 3 percent.
C. Children and teenagers are having sex and getting pregnant before they truly know how to prevent
it. A shift needs to be made from this abstinence only phase to a more preventative attitude. Our
president agrees.
1. In the FoxNews.com article I read that the Obama administration s 2010 budget eliminated
spending for abstinence only programs, shifting funds to pregnancy prevention education that include
abstinence as well as medically accurate and age appropriate information.
2. According to the Reproductive Rights Blog, the $114.5 million teen pregnancy prevention project
signed into law by President Obama in December 2009 establishes a major turning point in U.S. sex
education policy, according to a new analysis published in the Winter 2010 issue of the Guttmacher
Policy Review. The project replaces many of the most firm and ineffective abstinence only programs,
which by law were required to have nonmarital abstinence promotion as their exclusive purpose and
were prohibited from discussing the benefits of contraception.
Transition: Third, I want to explain how effective distributing contraceptives would be.
III. Unfortunately, we live in a society where kids are having sex. It s unpleasant to think about, but it
s true.
A. Whether adults want them to or not, if they want to have sex, they re going to do it.

The Similarities Between Star Wars And Religion
The science fiction film, Star Wars, has a had a significant impact on modern culture today as it relates
to Greek mythology and religion. The popular film created by George Lucas uses many symbols to
demonstrate the similarities between the movie and culture, such as the Tusken Raiders and the Nio.
Fortunately, Star Wars stays open to all religions, allowing for different interpretations of all
characters. The concepts presented in the movie allow for all viewers to further their knowledge of
religion and understand the past in a more logical way.
A similarity between Star Wars and religion are heralds and R2 D2. A herald was someone who
carried a message, sometimes causing an adventure to begin. In the religion of Christianity, Matthew
was a herald because he shared how Jesus, rejected by Israel, sent the disciples to preach the gospel to
the world. In Star Wars, R2 D2 delivered the message that Princess Leia was in trouble and she needed
help from Obi Wan Kenobi. This lead Luke Skywalker on an adventure to figure out who Obi Wan
Kenobi was and why Princess Leia was in trouble. Therefore, both heralds and R2 D2 represent the
messengers needed in order for a quest to unfold.
Another comparison between Star Wars and religion are the Nio and the Tusken Raiders. According to
Japanese tradition, the Nio were a group of guards that protected the Buddhist temples from those
trying to enter. Today, two muscular structures stand in front of some of the Buddhist temples in East

Essay on Economics Assessment of Brazil
Brazil is one of the most prominent emerging economies in the world, indeed Brazil forms part of the
BRIC group of emerging economies alongside Russia, India and China. Brazil does differ from some
of its emerging economy counterparts in many ways, unlike China (but similar to Russia and India)
Brazil has a democratic form of government and the centre left Worker s Party (Partidos dos
Trabalhadores (PT)) has governed Brazil since 2003. Unlike other emerging economies, the Brazilian
economy is dominated by the services industry which contributes 67 per cent of Brazilian GDP and
employs 70 per cent of Brazil s 100.77 million strong labour force. The other key sectors of the

British Airways Case Study
In this individual assignment, reading material, including the different ways companies innovate, re
energize a mature organization, and change corporate culture, provide the basis for analyzing British
Airways (BA) transformation and the challenges encountered in making an organizational change.
Identification of critical factors leading to their successful transformation as well as the steps,
sequence, and risks taken to transform the organization and personal assessment of what could have
been done differently is provided in this case study.
Connection of British Airways case to re energizing the mature organization
The re energizing the mature organization reading was relevant to the BA case through the company s
recognition of the need to overcome challenges to renew, understanding and practicing the principles
of renewal, and putting in place leadership and work activities necessary to accomplish the re
energized effort. As a mature organization that was struggling, BA faced opportunities for change that
needed to focus not only internally, but externally as well. Beatty and Ulrich (1991) note (as cited in
Jick Peiperl, 2011, p. 39) that given such challenges, mature organizations need to build internal
organizational processes that meet external customer requirements.
As the newly appointed BA chairman in 1981, Sir John King noted in his first annual report a
prediction of hard times ahead, but worked on addressing challenges such as costs, service, route

Wagner, The Art Of Life

Wagner, the Art of Life May 22, 1813, Leipzig, Modern Day Germany; a boy is born to a baker s
daughter and clerk. Unbeknownst to them, this boy would go on to challenge the very idea of musical,
its relation to life, and its role as an art. Wagner will come into his age and our modern age defined as
many things; racist, genius, poet, philosopher, politician, and musician. So what is Wagner, why
should we care and how can someone who died before the turn of the 20th century have any impact on
our lives? It really is quite the behemoth to tackle, trying to explain a man so indecipherably
complicated as Wagner in a few pages is a daunting task for the best of us. But perhaps, just maybe, ...

Wagner entered into a traditional pastoral school at the age of 7, there he would receive his first
attention in the education of music. Wagner would receive proper instruction, only to realize that his
learning capabilities were more attuned to learning by ear. At the age of 8 Geyer would die and a
member of Geyer s family would send Wagner to a school of classical education. Here Wagner would
gain his first real taste of classical pieces of art, music, and literature, drawing inspiration from the
likes of Goethe and Shakespeare. Until his time in university Wagner would go on to experience and
absorb the works of Beethoven and Mozart, with great admiration. In adulthood, following his
university education, Wagner would start to form bonds, connections, and ideals that would shape his
life and music. Wagner would travel from Germany, after financial loss, to Russia, with his actress
wife, he would then flee back to Dresden, ultimately to be exiled because of his, then, extreme left
political involvement. Wagner s years in exile would result in some of the most despairing moments of
his life but would also prove to be some of his most explosive years of creation. During this dark
stretch of time Wagner would work on some of his most important creations. Drawing from the likes
of Schopenhauer Tristan und Isolde would be started, Der Ring des Nibelungen would be finished, and
the famous Die Walküre would be completed. Wagner s darkest moments would give the Western

Evaluation Of Performance Management System
Introduction Performance management is the process of assessing, measuring, managing, and
enhancing the overall business performance in an organization. It is defined as a strategic and
integrated approach to increase the effectiveness of companies by improving the performance of the
people who work in them and by developing the capabilities of teams and individual contributors.
(Armstrong and Baron,1998) Performance management is associated with the business processes and
daily activities which lead to strategic goals. It includes how management decide to take a particular
action under the specific business environment, and also how does those actions affect other

Should the changes on operation plan agreed to be made, the performance system will adjust changes
in budget, warn users and appropriate managers of those changes and then continue to track the
implementation of new operational plan (FSN, 2010). Performance measurement is the sub process of
performance management which focuses on identifying, tracking and communicating business
performance results by using performance indicators. Performance measurement is also known as an
ongoing process of evaluating business performance. Performance measurement concentrates on
evaluation of results and enables users to analyze through charts and trends in depths of detail (FSN,
2010). According to Otley (2002), in accounting perspective, performance measurement system as a
tool of financial control and motivation, provides financial information to improve overall business
performance. When assessing marketing performance (Clark, 2002), early work focuses on measuring
marketing productivity and now with increasing concentration on effective marketing inputs,

measurement focuses on productivity measurement in early stage and now in concern with effective

The Pros And Cons Of Sports Stadiums
Sports teams are a symbol of a cities pride. Take for example the Chicago Cubs. They create a sense of
loyalty toward that city. However, none of that would happen without a stadium. Stadiums and teams
can play a very important role in a cities economy, or they could also be irrelevant. To decide whether
or not they are useful or not you must first understand each side of the argument. So first, let s
examine the pros of having a stadium within your city. Then, we will discuss the harms of having one.
And finally, decide which side is more beneficial for the economy.
Proponents of subsidizing sports stadiums is a great decision because the economic impact it will have
on the community is great for two main reasons. First, sports stadiums are massive construction
projects. In fact, one could compare them to a medieval cathedral in their attempts to dominate a
skyline and inspire pride in one s city And, just like these cathedrals, they are very expensive, and
massive building projects that would require many years of hard painstaking labor. For example, the
proposed stadium for the Los Angeles Rams in Inglewood, California, was predicted to cost $3 billion
and add 22,000 construction jobs to the economy of Los Angeles, California. Although construction
jobs do eventually disappear once a stadium is constructed once the games begin, so does the massive
consumer spending. For example, more than 3.5 million people saw the St. Louis Cardinals play at
Busch Stadium in 2015.

Oprah Winfrey Leadership Analysis
Oprah Winfrey has a way with connecting with people. This leader implements several different
strategies to achieve and gain her success. Therefore, when Oprah was airing her television show, she
would give the audience gifts, such as, prior to Christmas, and give the audience her favorite items
from her Christmas list. Oprah is no stranger of giving because everyone went home with nice and
occasionally expensive gifts like UGG Boots, because Its appears evidential that Oprah plays a vital
role in their spike in company sells and marketing for this company because this is where many
consumers first saw these items, on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah believes and listens to her
followers, because she knew the majority of the latest trends, because Oprah is respected in our
society, she could probably convince anyone to purchase anything that she suggests. Therefore,
consumer power is a major tactic that Oprah implement in her leadership skills. Listening to your
followers is vital because these are the people that up and personal with the items and products.
Therefore, sharing ideas, listening, and receiving feedback is detrimental for any business because it s
important that all followers feel that they are apart of an organization. However, some business leaders
are not willing and open to hear the ideals of the followers and only feel that they are the person that
support majority of the company s decisions and in majority of analogous cases, these people or their

My Goals For My First Semester
After two full weeks of college I have quickly learned that college is very stressful and if I want to be
successful I need to learn how to set practical goals and acquire necessary tactics to accomplish each
goal in the given amount of time. I have set three goals for my first semester of college to achieve
success in both academic and personal areas in my life. I want to receive a 4.0 GPA, only have up to
one absence in each class, and be able to run seven miles nonstop, I will complete these three goals all
in my first semester of college. With essential goal setting strategies I am equipped with I will be able
to accomplish my three goals in the time frame given and set myself up for success for next semesters
as a UNC student. My first goal is to earn a 4.0 GPA this fall semester. This is an enabling goal
because I will need I need to have above a 3.8 to get into the nursing program at UNC, therefore
getting perfect grades this semester will set me up for success in the future semesters. To accomplish
this goal, I will have to study for at least two hours a day, Monday through Friday. I will also need to
go to at least three hours of tutoring each week. I live in a pre nursing living community, therefore my
RA has tutoring hours and the school provides two hours for each class of tutoring a week. I am a
disorganized person and I rarely use a planner, and to get a 4.0 I will need to be very organized. To

Of Mice And Men Book Report Essay
The fiction book that I chose for my summer reading was Of Mice and Men . When I was given the
list of fiction books, I went on good reads dot com and looked up all the books on the fiction list. Of
Mice and Men really caught my eye because it was a book about two friends going through tough

George is a tiny, lean and sharp featured man who takes care of his friend Lennie (Steinbeck). Lennie

To keep things simple this book is about two friends that need each other to survive in a time where no

ranch, where they are introduced to many new characters (Steinbeck). Time gets suspenseful at the

favorite character in Of Mice and Men was George because he is a genuine character who is smart and

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Peer To Peer Lenders
Peer to Peer lending is a unique method that links borrowers and lenders relatively quick and
inexpensive without financial intermediaries. With technological advances in recent years including
the boom of electronic money, transactions in peer to peer lending programs have become more and
more commonly used around the globe. This type of financial service carries both advantages (peer to
peer communities have a quick and easy online application process for both lenders and borrowers
(Schneider 2008)) and disadvantages (potential exposure to more risk) for those lending their funds as
well as people taking out these loans.
Borrowers can experience unique advantages through peer to peer lending compared to other types of
financial loan methods. For example, If a potential borrower bears a shaky financial history but a
sympathetic story as to why they think they should qualify for a loan, a lender can still grant a loan
and choose to undergo a higher rate of return, assuming there is greater risk to fund this loan
(Schneider 2008). Financial institutions such as banks or credit unions that would normally turn away
these people, borrowers have an increased opportunity with peer to peer lending (Schneider 2008).
Additionally, a borrower gets a more favorable interest rate on their loan than one would otherwise
have gotten from funding elsewhere say through a bank or a credit card company because they have a
pool of potential lenders to choose from (Investopedia 2017).

Research Paper. One day on February 20, 2002, a case was brought to the court and, argued pertaining
to capital punishment known as ATKINS v. VIRGINIA. The jury convicted Daryl Atkins for the
murder of a Virginia City man, as well as the kidnapping and armed robbery of the victim.
Investigators found out that on the 16th of Aug 1996, Atkins, and his partner named William Jones
kidnapped Eric Nesbitt from his place of residence, armed with a semiautomatic handgun. Atkins and
William both of these suspect proceeded to rob him for all of the cash he had on him at the time and
asked him for more cash and ended up withdrawing additional cash from a nearby ATM with Nesbitt s
card. From there, Atkins and William brought the victim to a nearby location and shot him eight times
including on his head and face, and killed him.
Both Atkins and William s statement were similar, that is why it did not took investigator that long to
find out what exactly happened, except for the fact that they both accused each other for the actual

Effects Of Advertising Cause Low Self-Esteem
Advertising is an over 100 billion dollar a year industry and affects all of us throughout our lives. We
are each exposed to over 2,000 ads a day, constituting perhaps the most powerful educational force in
society. The average American will spend one and one half years of his or her life watching television
commercials. The ads sell a great deal more than products. They sell images, makeup, skin and hair
care, diet pills, and cosmetic surgery as a means of normalcy.
In this paper, I will argue how the effects of advertisements on a person s identity can cause low self
esteem and lead to health issues. First, I will explain what a person s identity means. A person s
identity is who you are, the way you think about yourself, the way you are viewed by the world and
the characteristics that define you.
Media portrayals of women through advertising and characters who are then, airbrushed and perfect,
contribute to norms that reinforce this unattainable image of beauty. According to Maggie Vlazny, a
mental health professional, Self esteem is a core identity issue, essential to personal validation and our
ability to experience joy. Once achieved, it comes from the inside out. But it is assaulted or stunted
from the outside in. A woman with low self esteem does not feel good about herself because she has
absorbed negative messages about women from the culture and/or relationships.
Based on the images seen in advertising, women often feel they should be thin and

Development Of Definitions Of Organizational Culture And...
2. Literature Review
The purpose of this chapter is to make readers comprehend the development of definitions of
organizational culture and project management in different dimensions. And within the content of
project management, the criteria of the success of project management will be demonstrated.
Furthermore, the previous studies about the relationship between organizational culture and the
success of project management will be referred to. Eventually, some problems unanswered on this
filed or some gaps that missed by former studies will be indicated.
2.1 Organizational Culture
A well known fact that organizational culture is hard to define because of its complexity, and it seems
that most of existing definitions are general and macroscopic. For example, organizational culture
supplies members of organization with principles of behaviors with the help of essential, common
values in the organization, and these principles are usually approved and accepted by internal
members (Baird et al. 2007; Chatman Jehn, 1994; Deshpandé Webster, 1989; Narver Slater, 1998; as
cited in Cynthia Webster Allyn White, 2010). And organizational culture means correspondingly fixed
faiths, manners and norms that are agreed by organizational members commonly (Williams, Dobson
Walters, 1993; as cited in Catherine T. Kwantes Cheryl A. Boglarsky, 2007). Organizational culture is
also defined as shared normative beliefs and shared behavioural expectations or a particular set of

Diagnosing a TB patient is through taking proper medical history and physical examination to observe
the characteristic symptoms of TB patients which are cough, weight loss, fever and/or night sweats
(for pulmonary TB patients also may complain of coughing of blood) which might be mild for several
months, this is why some patients neglect to see doctors early so they are kept without treatment for
some time leading to the increase of chance of spread of the organism to other people (12). Other tools
of diagnosing are chest x ray especially in pulmonary TB (3), and doing some tests including sputum

Sundiata The Griot Analysis
Traditions are passed down from generation to generation. A family s past, present, and future is told
to each member of a family with the idea that it will be passed down. Our traditions teach us about the
way we live; including why we eat certain food, why we talk a certain way, and why we tell the stories
we tell. In the MalianAfrican culture, a Griot is the person responsible for teaching the younger
children and citizens of Mali Africa the stories of their ancestors. Through oral traditions, they are

however, it sadly is not, but there are certain stories that relate to Sundiata. These stories remain
classics; timeless and universal narratives told with the purposed of educating our children. This
purpose is seen in modern culture. For example, Little Red Riding Hood teaches children to be careful
who they trust, Shakespear illustrates that anything is possible with perseverance, and 1984 expresses
the importance to stand up for what we believe in. All of these stories are classics, they are integrated
into our popular culture and are considered to be educational. They present morals, teach us the
lessons that we are supposed to know, and are placed on a pedestal. Although Sundiata: An Epic of

Football Concussions And Head Injuries
Football Concussions and Head Injuries
Football is one of the most popular sports played today, but, many injuries can occur while playing
football. Some of these injuries may include broken bones, spinal injuries and concussions. High
school football accounts for forty seven percent of all reported sports
concussions(headcasecompany.com). A concussion, also known as mild traumatic brain injury
(MTBI), is a brain injury caused by a blow to the head or a violent shaking of the head or body.
Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a degenerative disease of the brain and is associated with
repeated head traumas like concussions (CNN.com). Brain injuries cause more deaths in sports than
any other injury. If we want to continue the sport of football in our youth and young teens, we need to
have ways to prevent head injuries. Some ways of preventing head injuries would be different helmet
designs, better tackling techniques or less contact time in practices.

The decision the supreme court made, which declared that slaves were not citizens and that the
Missouri Compromise was unconstitutional, outraged Northerners and contributed to the start of the

13. They believed slaves were necessary and important and felt it was necessary to pass laws to
control their freedom. John Brown attacked an army post in Harper s Ferry, Virginia (VA). His trial
divided the north and south. He was captured, convicted and hung.
14. There are many reasons that led to the civil war. President Lincoln becoming president was one of
the first reasons. Societal differences between industrial north and agricultural south. Slavery mostly
because all Southern whites wanted to become a slave owner. Slavery was a major cause for the Civil
War. Only a few amount of Southerners owned Slaves because of money issues. The destruction of the
Missouri compromise was another reason.
15. By issuing the Emancipation Proclamation, Lincoln guaranteed that the war had to end with the
conquest of the South. He thought that if slavery could not expand, it would eventually die. He wanted

Professor Edward G. look
Abstract In this laboratory session, I determined the concentration of p xylene and m xylene in two
unknown samples, using o xylene as an internal standard. The analysis was done using Fourier
Transform Infrared spectrometry. The peak wavelengths of the three isomers were determined, and
standard curves were constructed from the ratio of the absorbance of the characteristic peaks. The ratio
of the concentrations was determined from the Least Square fitting of the data.
Introduction
Para xylene belongs to a family of aromatic hydrocarbons of industrial importance and can be
polymerized to obtain parylene or as a starting point to the synthesis of polyethylene terephthalate,
among other uses. The ability to measure and control its concentration in equilibrium with its o and m
isomers is therefore of great importance (Fig. 1).
For quantitative purposes internal standard method is of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Calibration curve has many disadvantages like we need a supply of high purity and know
concentration of the analyte material to be a reference, also the analyte and the standard will not be
subjected to same matrix and same interfering compounds and same conditions. Many variables may
interfere or change during the measurement of response of standard and response of analyte. While if
use an internal standard, the measurement will be done at the same run for both the analyte and
standard, thus we eliminate any potential variations between the different runs that would be needed in
calibration curve method. This results in accuracy and

Abstract. The American People And The Politicians Believe
Abstract
The American people and the politicians believe that World War I would be the war that ended all
wars. Many did not believe there should even be a military, just a National Guard for homeland
security. There was a great downsizing of military personnel and equipment after World War I. The
United States never occupied German after World War I, which set the stage for another war because
Hitler never admitted that Germany lost. Hitler believed Germany lost because of enemy propaganda,
not defeat on the battlefield. GEN Marshall became the Army Chief of Staff in a time that required a
rebuild of the U.S. military. GEN Marshall organized the greatest military expansion and prepared
American forces for war. It was a very arduous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fellow officers assumed MAJ Marshall would be relieved after the incident, but instead he earned
respect and a position in GEN Pershing staff. He proved himself as such a gifted administrator and
global strategist that Franklin Roosevelt was forced to give the job GEN Marshall coveted, the
command of Operation Overlord for the invasion of France, to Dwight Eisenhower, saying to GEN
Marshall, I didn t feel I could sleep at ease with you out of Washington (Hull, 2016). These situations
shaped GEN Marshall s career, which lead him to being in many staff position and mentored by many
great leaders. GEN Marshall s greatest staff position with the largest task of his career is to prepare a
undermanned and ill equipped military for yet another World War. GEN George Marshall was
instrumental in preparing the force for war and being victorious in World War II because he organized
the largest military expansion in U.S. history, he wrote the central strategy for all Allied operation, and
the invasion of Europe, and his post war rebuild plan successfully rebuilt Europe, earning him the
Noble Peace Prize.
GEN Marshall Organized the Largest Military Expansion
Winston Churchill undoubtedly came the closest in describing Marshall s importance in the war effort
when Churchill cabled Washington late in the war: He is the true organizer of victory (Ellwood, 2006).

Sistine Chapel Choir Essay
Sistine Chapel Choir
The Sistine Chapel Choir was established in the late 1400 s which makes it one of the oldest choirs in
the world. The choir consisted of twenty four men in total. Six men in soprano, alto, tenor, and bass.
Today the choir is made of twenty men who make up the tenor and bass section; meanwhile, the
soprano and alto is made up by thirty boy choristers. Before the use of boys in the choir, men were
castrated to keep their voices high. The choir members also had to be celibate.
The first main composer connected with the Sistine Chapel Choir is Josquin Desprez. The famous
reformer Martin Luther praised Josquin Desprez saying, He is a master of notes; they do as he wills,
as for other composers they do as the notes will . Josquin is a historical mystery there is very little
information on his early life. Josquin Desprez started out as a singer for the choir in 1489 to 1495. He
eventually wrote fifteen settings of the mass. Josquin s music is filled with a calm soothing effect. His
music has a heavenly feel and an angelic echo that words cannot describe properly. After listening to

Palestrina was a member of the choir until he married. He broke the celibate rule for members;
therefore, the church kicked him out of the choir. Although he was no longer a member for the choir,
he still wrote compositions for the choir. Palestrina wrote many different compositions. He built up his
predecessor s craft and refined them. His work is the pinnacle of renaissance polyphony. His most
important work is the Missa Papae Marcelli which saved polyphony music from being discarded from
the Roman Catholic Church. The Council of Trent decided the church music was getting to the point
where no one could understand the words. After hearing Missa Papae Marcelli the council decided the
words could be understood and should be kept; therefore, saving the polyphony

Antwone fisher and Personality
Personality is an important part of one character. The first theorist of choice that can explain Antwone
Fisher. Bandura believed that learning was apparent when one was observing another person or
experience (Schultz Schultz, 2013). Through Antwone s actions, it was plausible that he became a
product of what he witnessed and experienced. Antwone displayed certain fears that was based on his
past and the people that he came in contact with. Bandura would say that Antwone went through the
process of observational learning (Schultz Schultz, 2013). Bandura analyzed the nature of
observational learning and found it to be governed by four related mechanisms: attentional processes,
retention processes, production processes, and incentive and motivational processes (Schultz Schultz,
2013, p. 335). First, there are various changing forces that can effect attentional processes (Schultz
Schultz, 2013). According to Bandura, observational learning or modeling will not occur unless the
subject pays attention to the model (Schultz Schultz, 2013). For example, even though Antwone was
not raised by his biological parents, he had several influences in his life. Antwone s foster mother had
a momentous influence on Antwone. Antwone was violent towards him and may have taught him to
be aggressive. However, there are some instances that a model does not always have an impact on an
individual in every area of his or her life (Schultz Schultz, 2013). For instance,

much freedom in public places, and it is time to limit the amount of freedom in order to restrain their
interaction with those who do not like them. He explains, how these dogs are everywhere without any
restrictions anymore, running around bothering people jumping up beside them at the park, while they
are trying to relax and read a book . In Addition to, the author explains that because of dogs
dominating places like the office and the gym, people feel forced to pretend they like them
disregarding the health hazards they could conceivably pose.

Essay on The IP Multimedia Subsystem
Abstract The IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) is a Next Generation Network (NGN) that integrates
wireless, wireline and internet technologies. IMS enables the convergence of voice, data, and
multimedia services such as Voice over IP (VoIP), Video over IP, push to talk, presence or instant
messaging services. IMS is almost independent of the access technology and uses a number of
protocols such as HTTP and SMTP while the most important one is called SIP or session Initiation
Protocol. At parallel this open based emerging technology has security challenges from multiple
communication protocols like IP, SIP and RTP etc. Because of the nature of the IMS (IP based), these
networks will inherit most of the security threats that these protocols are ... Show more content on

We have followed an experimental approach to implement a security model for the IMS.
In this paper, the IMS security is discussed in detail. This paper provides a comprehensive survey of
security threats to IMS network. A proposed IMS security model is discussed in detail to protect the
IMS services and resources from these threats.
The rest of the paper is organized as follows. Section II presents an overview of the IP Multimedia
Subsystem with special consideration given to security while section III describes related work about
IMS security. Section IV and V describes the existing and proposed security solutions. The conclusion

Organizational values have recently been regaining importance, which is reflected in the fact that they
are commonly referred to as organizational foundations.
Indeed, practice has proved that those values provide the basis for decisionmaking at all levels of the
organization from senior management to the nonmanagerial employees. This paper addresses the issue
of communicating organizational values in managerial communication. In particular, communicating
organizational values to employees, customers and other stakeholders is discussed. It is concluded that

In the following sections, the ways of communicating organizational values to employees and
customers as well as to other stakeholders will be looked at. It should be noted that managerial
communication of organizational values can facilitate a more powerful communication and
implementation of organizational values within an organization.
2. DEFINITION OF ORGANIZATIONAL VALUES
Over two thousand years ago, in 431 B.C., Pericles in Ancient Greece eloquently urged the Athenians,
who were at war with the Spartans, to adhere to values such as those inherent in democracy:
informality in communication, the importance of individual dignity, and promotion based on
performance.
Pericles realized that the underlying values might mean victory or defeat
(Weihrich and Koontz, 1998; 333). Nevertheless, it was not until the 1970s that a systematic
investigation of organizational values started within the psychological approach represented by Milton
Rokeach, who defined a value as
an enduring belief that a specific mode of conduct or end state of existence is personally and socially
preferable to an opposite or converse mode of conduct or end state of existence (Rokeach, 1973; 5).
He also developed the first classification of values that was based on goals and means of their
achievement, wherein he distinguished terminal from instrumental values (Rokeach, 1973; 7),
defining them in the following way:
terminal values refer to desirable

The Pros And Cons Of Search Engine Optimization
SEM or Search Engine Optimization is closely related to SEO (Search Engine Optimization). In fact, a
lot of SEM jobs will often expect you to know a bit about SEO. Because you can t do SEM without
additional skills. For instance, knowing how to work PPC advertising (i.e., Pay Per Click advertising)
is almost essential for those looking to work in SEM jobs.
To explain why SEO, SEM and PPC advertising is often interrelated in job descriptions, consider this:
In definition, SEO optimizes websites and web pages via content that contains selective keywords.
Whereas, SEM uses advertising and promotion methods to place certain web pages and websites in
the first page of search engine results. So the purpose is more or less the same for both. The only
difference is the method. Plus, SEM usually uses paid advertising methods too (which is not that
necessary for SEO). So paid advertising methods like PPC advertising is something the SEM
professionals should know about too.
The future of digital marketing jobs and the scope of digital marketing jobs in India are extremely
bright. So if you re willing to learn and enjoy working online, you ll find SEM jobs quite rewarding.

What Does Christian Faith Mean To Me
What does my Christian faith mean to me? Faith is a gift from God. Faith means I won t go to hell
when I die. We were God s perfect creation. Being the loving God he is he gave us free will. We
abused that free will and fell into sin. God loved us so much he sent his own son Jesus (who is also
God) down to earth, Jesus was willingly tortured and slaughtered by the people he came to save,
dragged the sins of the world into the pits of hell and rose again so that everyone can go to heaven and
be God s children if they have faith. Jesus didn t stop there. He stayed and taught people for 40 days,
promised that the the Holy Spirit (who is also God) would come and then ascended into heaven. 10
days later the Holy Spirit came on Pentecost.

  • 2. Informative Speech Essay example Chelsea McMillen s Persuasive Speech Outline General Purpose: To persuade my audience Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience into being in favor of distributing contraceptives (condoms, birth control pills, spermicides, etc.) in high schools. Thesis statement: In order to explain why contraceptives are becoming such a necessity in schools today, I will share how teen parenthood is being glorified, reasons for such an increase in teenage pregnancies, and how effective distributing contraceptives would be. INTRODUCTION I. Attention getter: (show slide of pregnant girls) How many of you have ever seen television shows like 16 and Pregnant , Teen Mom , or The Secret Life of an American Teenager ? II. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2. Since then, pregnancy rates have risen 3 percent. C. Children and teenagers are having sex and getting pregnant before they truly know how to prevent it. A shift needs to be made from this abstinence only phase to a more preventative attitude. Our president agrees. 1. In the FoxNews.com article I read that the Obama administration s 2010 budget eliminated spending for abstinence only programs, shifting funds to pregnancy prevention education that include abstinence as well as medically accurate and age appropriate information. 2. According to the Reproductive Rights Blog, the $114.5 million teen pregnancy prevention project signed into law by President Obama in December 2009 establishes a major turning point in U.S. sex education policy, according to a new analysis published in the Winter 2010 issue of the Guttmacher Policy Review. The project replaces many of the most firm and ineffective abstinence only programs, which by law were required to have nonmarital abstinence promotion as their exclusive purpose and were prohibited from discussing the benefits of contraception. Transition: Third, I want to explain how effective distributing contraceptives would be. III. Unfortunately, we live in a society where kids are having sex. It s unpleasant to think about, but it s true.

  • 4. The Similarities Between Star Wars And Religion The science fiction film, Star Wars, has a had a significant impact on modern culture today as it relates to Greek mythology and religion. The popular film created by George Lucas uses many symbols to demonstrate the similarities between the movie and culture, such as the Tusken Raiders and the Nio. Fortunately, Star Wars stays open to all religions, allowing for different interpretations of all characters. The concepts presented in the movie allow for all viewers to further their knowledge of religion and understand the past in a more logical way. A similarity between Star Wars and religion are heralds and R2 D2. A herald was someone who carried a message, sometimes causing an adventure to begin. In the religion of Christianity, Matthew was a herald because he shared how Jesus, rejected by Israel, sent the disciples to preach the gospel to the world. In Star Wars, R2 D2 delivered the message that Princess Leia was in trouble and she needed help from Obi Wan Kenobi. This lead Luke Skywalker on an adventure to figure out who Obi Wan Kenobi was and why Princess Leia was in trouble. Therefore, both heralds and R2 D2 represent the messengers needed in order for a quest to unfold. Another comparison between Star Wars and religion are the Nio and the Tusken Raiders. According to Japanese tradition, the Nio were a group of guards that protected the Buddhist temples from those trying to enter. Essay on Economics Assessment of Brazil Brazil is one of the most prominent emerging economies in the world, indeed Brazil forms part of the BRIC group of emerging economies alongside Russia, India and China. The most notable of these programs is the Bolsa Familia conditional social welfare program which has been praised from all quarters including the World Bank, the BBC, the centre left British newspaper The Guardian as well as the centre right publication The Economist and has been cited as a potential model for other emerging economies in Africa and the Middle East as well as even New York City. Here Wagner would gain his first real taste of classical pieces of art, music, and literature, drawing inspiration from the likes of Goethe and Shakespeare. Until his time in university Wagner would go on to experience and absorb the works of Beethoven and Mozart, with great admiration. In adulthood, following his university education, Wagner would start to form bonds, connections, and ideals that would shape his life and music. • 9. The Pros And Cons Of Sports Stadiums Sports teams are a symbol of a cities pride. Take for example the Chicago Cubs. They create a sense of loyalty toward that city. However, none of that would happen without a stadium. Stadiums and teams can play a very important role in a cities economy, or they could also be irrelevant. To decide whether or not they are useful or not you must first understand each side of the argument. So first, let s examine the pros of having a stadium within your city. Then, we will discuss the harms of having one. And finally, decide which side is more beneficial for the economy. Proponents of subsidizing sports stadiums is a great decision because the economic impact it will have on the community is great for two main reasons. First, sports stadiums are massive construction projects. In fact, one could compare them to a medieval cathedral in their attempts to dominate a skyline and inspire pride in one s city And, just like these cathedrals, they are very expensive, and massive building projects that would require many years of hard painstaking labor. For example, the proposed stadium for the Los Angeles Rams in Inglewood, California, was predicted to cost $3 billion and add 22,000 construction jobs to the economy of Los Angeles, California. Although construction jobs do eventually disappear once a stadium is constructed once the games begin, so does the massive consumer spending. For example, more than 3.5 million people saw the St. Louis Cardinals play at Busch Stadium in 2015. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Oprah Winfrey Leadership Analysis Oprah Winfrey has a way with connecting with people. This leader implements several different strategies to achieve and gain her success. Therefore, when Oprah was airing her television show, she would give the audience gifts, such as, prior to Christmas, and give the audience her favorite items from her Christmas list. Oprah is no stranger of giving because everyone went home with nice and occasionally expensive gifts like UGG Boots, because Its appears evidential that Oprah plays a vital role in their spike in company sells and marketing for this company because this is where many consumers first saw these items, on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah believes and listens to her followers, because she knew the majority of the latest trends, because Oprah is respected in our society, she could probably convince anyone to purchase anything that she suggests. Therefore, consumer power is a major tactic that Oprah implement in her leadership skills. • 13. Of Mice And Men Book Report Essay The fiction book that I chose for my summer reading was Of Mice and Men . When I was given the list of fiction books, I went on good reads dot com and looked up all the books on the fiction list. Of Mice and Men really caught my eye because it was a book about two friends going through tough times, which always has a deeper meaning of friendship. Once I chose Of Mice and Men I picked it up at my local library. The book was exceptionally simple to read and my understanding of every page was straightforward. It only took me a week to read. Prior to reading the book I knew it would be about two migrant workers that were struggling with making ends meet in hard times (Goodread.com). George is a tiny, lean and sharp featured man who takes care of his friend Lennie (Steinbeck). To keep things simple this book is about two friends that need each other to survive in a time where no one cares about anybody. They flee a town because of Lennie s actions and end up finding work on a ranch, where they are introduced to many new characters (Steinbeck). Time gets suspenseful at the ranch and in the end Lennie s gets into more trouble and ultimately dies in the end (Steinbeck). My favorite character in Of Mice and Men was George because he is a genuine character who is smart and takes care of Lennie with his mental disability. • 14. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Peer To Peer Lenders Peer to Peer lending is a unique method that links borrowers and lenders relatively quick and inexpensive without financial intermediaries. With technological advances in recent years including the boom of electronic money, transactions in peer to peer lending programs have become more and more commonly used around the globe. This type of financial service carries both advantages (peer to peer communities have a quick and easy online application process for both lenders and borrowers (Schneider 2008)) and disadvantages (potential exposure to more risk) for those lending their funds as well as people taking out these loans. Borrowers can experience unique advantages through peer to peer lending compared to other types of financial loan methods. For example, If a potential borrower bears a shaky financial history but a sympathetic story as to why they think they should qualify for a loan, a lender can still grant a loan and choose to undergo a higher rate of return, assuming there is greater risk to fund this loan (Schneider 2008). Financial institutions such as banks or credit unions that would normally turn away these people, borrowers have an increased opportunity with peer to peer lending (Schneider 2008). Additionally, a borrower gets a more favorable interest rate on their loan than one would otherwise have gotten from funding elsewhere say through a bank or a credit card company because they have a pool of potential lenders to choose from (Investopedia 2017). ... Inter system 1. linkages were outlined between various HRD subsystems to have an integrated system. Pareek and Rao also outlined a philosophy for the new HR system, which included 14 principles to be kept in mind while designing the HRD system. Atkins and William both of these suspect proceeded to rob him for all of the cash he had on him at the time and asked him for more cash and ended up withdrawing additional cash from a nearby ATM with Nesbitt s card. From there, Atkins and William brought the victim to a nearby location and shot him eight times including on his head and face, and killed him. Both Atkins and William s statement were similar, that is why it did not took investigator that long to find out what exactly happened, except for the fact that they both accused each other for the actual shooting and killing of Eric Nesbitt. • 17. Effects Of Advertising Cause Low Self-Esteem Advertising is an over 100 billion dollar a year industry and affects all of us throughout our lives. We are each exposed to over 2,000 ads a day, constituting perhaps the most powerful educational force in society. The average American will spend one and one half years of his or her life watching television commercials. The ads sell a great deal more than products. They sell images, makeup, skin and hair care, diet pills, and cosmetic surgery as a means of normalcy. In this paper, I will argue how the effects of advertisements on a person s identity can cause low self esteem and lead to health issues. First, I will explain what a person s identity means. A person s identity is who you are, the way you think about yourself, the way you are viewed by the world and the characteristics that define you. Media portrayals of women through advertising and characters who are then, airbrushed and perfect, contribute to norms that reinforce this unattainable image of beauty. According to Maggie Vlazny, a mental health professional, Self esteem is a core identity issue, essential to personal validation and our ability to experience joy. Once achieved, it comes from the inside out. But it is assaulted or stunted from the outside in. A woman with low self esteem does not feel good about herself because she has absorbed negative messages about women from the culture and/or relationships. Based on the images seen in advertising, women often feel they should be thin and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Literature Review The purpose of this chapter is to make readers comprehend the development of definitions of organizational culture and project management in different dimensions. And within the content of project management, the criteria of the success of project management will be demonstrated. Furthermore, the previous studies about the relationship between organizational culture and the success of project management will be referred to. Eventually, some problems unanswered on this filed or some gaps that missed by former studies will be indicated. 2.1 Organizational Culture A well known fact that organizational culture is hard to define because of its complexity, and it seems that most of existing definitions are general and macroscopic. For example, organizational culture supplies members of organization with principles of behaviors with the help of essential, common values in the organization, and these principles are usually approved and accepted by internal members (Baird et al. 2007; Chatman Jehn, 1994; Deshpandé Webster, 1989; Narver Slater, 1998; as cited in Cynthia Webster Allyn White, 2010). And organizational culture means correspondingly fixed faiths, manners and norms that are agreed by organizational members commonly (Williams, Dobson Walters, 1993; as cited in Catherine T. Kwantes Cheryl A. Boglarsky, 2007). Organizational culture is also defined as shared normative beliefs and shared behavioural expectations or a particular set of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

False Tuberculin Skin Test Paper Diagnosis Diagnosing a TB patient is through taking proper medical history and physical examination to observe the characteristic symptoms of TB patients which are cough, weight loss, fever and/or night sweats (for pulmonary TB patients also may complain of coughing of blood) which might be mild for several months, this is why some patients neglect to see doctors early so they are kept without treatment for some time leading to the increase of chance of spread of the organism to other people (12). Other tools of diagnosing are chest x ray especially in pulmonary TB (3), and doing some tests including sputum smear microscopy that is even though very old method, it is not only still used but also the most common test used globally. Our traditions teach us about the way we live; including why we eat certain food, why we talk a certain way, and why we tell the stories we tell. In the MalianAfrican culture, a Griot is the person responsible for teaching the younger children and citizens of Mali Africa the stories of their ancestors. For example, Little Red Riding Hood teaches children to be careful who they trust, Shakespear illustrates that anything is possible with perseverance, and 1984 expresses the importance to stand up for what we believe in. All of these stories are classics, they are integrated into our popular culture and are considered to be educational. Some of these injuries may include broken bones, spinal injuries and concussions. High school football accounts for forty seven percent of all reported sports concussions(headcasecompany.com). A concussion, also known as mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI), is a brain injury caused by a blow to the head or a violent shaking of the head or body. Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a degenerative disease of the brain and is associated with repeated head traumas like concussions (CNN.com). Brain injuries cause more deaths in sports than any other injury. If we want to continue the sport of football in our youth and young teens, we need to have ways to prevent head injuries. Some ways of preventing head injuries would be different helmet designs, better tackling techniques or less contact time in practices. The analysis was done using Fourier Transform Infrared spectrometry. The peak wavelengths of the three isomers were determined, and standard curves were constructed from the ratio of the absorbance of the characteristic peaks. The ratio of the concentrations was determined from the Least Square fitting of the data. Introduction Para xylene belongs to a family of aromatic hydrocarbons of industrial importance and can be polymerized to obtain parylene or as a starting point to the synthesis of polyethylene terephthalate, among other uses. Bandura believed that learning was apparent when one was observing another person or experience (Schultz Schultz, 2013). Through Antwone s actions, it was plausible that he became a product of what he witnessed and experienced. Antwone displayed certain fears that was based on his past and the people that he came in contact with. Bandura would say that Antwone went through the process of observational learning (Schultz Schultz, 2013). Bandura analyzed the nature of observational learning and found it to be governed by four related mechanisms: attentional processes, retention processes, production processes, and incentive and motivational processes (Schultz Schultz, 2013, p. 335). First, there are various changing forces that can effect attentional processes (Schultz Schultz, 2013). According to Bandura, observational learning or modeling will not occur unless the subject pays attention to the model (Schultz Schultz, 2013). For example, even though Antwone was not raised by his biological parents, he had several influences in his life. Antwone s foster mother had a momentous influence on Antwone. Antwone was violent towards him and may have taught him to be aggressive. DEFINITION OF ORGANIZATIONAL VALUES Over two thousand years ago, in 431 B.C., Pericles in Ancient Greece eloquently urged the Athenians, who were at war with the Spartans, to adhere to values such as those inherent in democracy: informality in communication, the importance of individual dignity, and promotion based on performance. Pericles realized that the underlying values might mean victory or defeat (Weihrich and Koontz, 1998; 333). Nevertheless, it was not until the 1970s that a systematic investigation of organizational values started within the psychological approach represented by Milton Rokeach, who defined a value as an enduring belief that a specific mode of conduct or end state of existence is personally and socially preferable to an opposite or converse mode of conduct or end state of existence (Rokeach, 1973; 5).
