How Did Justin Become A Peasant
Justinian belonged to a peasant family, and was not someone you d expect to become emperor.
However, he had an uncle named Justin who had entered into the Byzantine military. Justin was
considered a peasant, but had worked up through the ranks, becoming an imperial guard. Justin
adopted Justinian, after he brought him to Constantinople, and ensured that he became the first person
in their family to be educated. In 527, Justin died and Justinian formally became the leader of a great
empire.
He named his wife Theodora his empress. She was 15 years younger than him and his opposite in
every way. She was social, charming, self confident, and never lost her head in a crisis. He adored his
wife and she was his most important adviser.

Character Analysis Of Little Snow White
In Little Snow White by Germany, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm, there is a Queen who becomes jealous
of her seven year old daughter. She envied her daughter s beauty and sends a huntsman to kill Snow
White. Snow White is then all alone and unable to care for herself and becomes dependent of the
Seven Dwarfs. Although she is the main character, she is also the weakest character in the story. In
Fables, we encounter a very different Snow White. Here Snow White oversees the town, Fabletown.
Unlike the original fairytale story, there are no Dwarfs looking after her. She doesn t need a Prince to
come to her rescue because she is the hero in her own right. Her fierceness makes her a strong female
who embodies power. Unlike the Little Snow White, in Fables Snow White is the head in charge, she s
independent, and bold. Snow White is the head in charge who runs a town called Fabletown. She still
needs to run things by the Mayor but overall, she is the face of Fabletown. Others come to her with
their problems in hopes of a solution. Contrary to the Snow White we know from the original
fairytales where Snow White is not in charge of anything and no one comes to her for solutions.
Instead, she has the seven dwarfs looking out for her. For example, when the queen tried to kill her
they said, It must have been the queen who tried to kill you, take care, and do not let anyone in again
(Germany, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm). This shows pity on the dwarf s behalf because they knew she
was unable to care for herself. However, in Fables, Snow White is now the one looking out for others.
For example, Beauty and the Beast come to Snow White for help with their marriage. Although, Snow
White was not able to give them a solution, she was now on the opposite end of the table unlike the
young and naïve Snow from the fairytale who sought others for her problems. Fables shows a great
representation of an independent woman with Snow White. After leaving the homeland and moving to
Fabletown, Snow White does not have her Prince Charming. Instead, this Snow White shows that she
can do anything she sets her mind to without any help. Something that did not occur in the fairytale
where the prince comes to her rescue and they live happily ever

The Air Traffic Control Administration System (ATCAS) allows air traffic control to share

government agencies including the National Air Traffic Service (NATS).
The ATCAS includes a link to AFTN and other ATC systems such as flight strip printing, and it can

Labor Market Flexibility
Labor Market Flexibility is, in theory, the prerogative of employers to hire and subsequently fire
workers without oversight, or the regard for regulation and/or influence of work unions (Marmot
Wilkinson, 2006). The thought process behind this idea is that firms are more likely to increase their
workforce, and that a greater portion of society can be employed. Through my experience in watching
the financial industry and business oriented Bloomberg News channel on Television, the model of
having less regulatory oversight and influences from outside sources brings down the operating costs
of companies and corporations, thereby allowing for greater investments by said firms, presumably, to
hire more people. As indicated by (Marmot Wilkinson, 2006), individuals with higher levels of job
insecurity are thought to be more enticed to work harder than others, so this labor market model would
be followed by an uptick in population wide productivity levels. This would thereby lead to an
increase ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is not healthy, and it should change. While regulations are costly for businesses to comply with, they
are needed to make sure that no industry gets in worse in its quality for workers and that no one can be
let go without just cause. Furthermore, this should be in addition to proper notifications of any
mistakes made and how to keep them from happening again, without fear of unemployment for it just
occurring once. References: Marmot, Michael, and Richard G. Wilkinson. Social determinants of

Original Sin In The Bible
One of the most commonly known stories of the Bible is the story of Adam and Eve. The story is
contained within that of Genesis, and a crucial moment in this tale is the moment Eve is tempted by
the serpent to go against God s will. This crucial moment is known as original sin, as this moment is
when both Adam and Eve fall from God s favor into the suffering and sin that is present in our modern
world. The tribulations that we were exempt from previously were now instated in our dominion due
to this original sin. However, while reading this Bible story, I did not truly understand this insight.
While analyzing and reading the actual story for the first time, I gained more insight into this original
sin, and God s almighty power over all, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Milton s Paradise Lost, Satan is characterized as a vengeful fallen angel who, while attempting to
rile his fallen army once again to battle, constantly battles with the inner despair and sorrow he feels
due to his loss against God. Satan struggles to fully realize God s almighty power against the fallen
angels, although the point is made by multiple different fellow commanders. Satan then focuses his
destruction upon God s creation, humans. He believes that by introducing sin to them, he will grieve
God. The epic poem ends the second book with Satan s ascent into Heaven to trick Adam and Eve. In
Paradise Lost, the book s message states that when humans are given the choice between sin and
salvation, the choice of salvation and return to God s grace makes God s power even stronger than any
evil s. Paradise Lost reinstates the insights I claimed through the story in the Bible, that we must be
aware of the choices we make between good or bad, and that if we are drawn into temptations and sin,
God s salvation is always more powerful than any temporary luxury that temptation

Feral Children Case Study
I recall hearing an interesting story about a young child a while back, who was raised by wolves and
behaved much like them. Feral children are the result of years of neglect and isolation. They are
children who have been raised away from society in harsh and solitary conditions. These children are
for the most part always mentally and socially underdeveloped. To understand feral children, one
should examine how they respond to isolation, how they react to integration, and if they are able to
acquire the skills they lost while being deprived of social interaction. Before we can examine the
behavior of these children, we need to determine the root cause of this transgression. Growing up,
these kids have very limited contact with other people, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of children raised by animals, they at least do learn some skills that can be helpful towards
their survival. A child raised in complete isolation however, will lack drastically more social and
physical skills. These children may not show any levels of intelligence. A case of this type of isolation
was that of a child named Anna, who was born in 1932 in Pennsylvania. Anna was raised in solitude
ever since her mother was unsuccessful in giving her away. For about 6 years, Anna was in total
isolation and was barely given enough food to keep her alive. She was completely alone, and did not
get to interact with anybody else during the time she was being kept, locked away in a dark room.
Considering the fact that this was happening during an important stage in the developmental process,
it had a great impact on Anna s cognitive ability. Once she was found, she was in a very bad state both
physically and mentally. She was suffering from malnutrition as well as her muscles showed signs of
atrophy. She was immobile, expressionless and indifferent to everything, (Davis 1). Atrophy is a
condition in which the muscle and tissue rot away, meaning that Anna was very diseased and living in
terrible conditions. She also didn t react to anything around her or any type of stimuli, revealing that
her cognition was very slow, and something was wrong with her mentally. She eventually began to
learn how to speak, but still never fully became a member of society, and died in

The Second Sex!
The Feminist Movement (also known as The Women s Liberation movement) is a social movement
organized around the belief that both men and women are equal in every way. The role of feminism in
the 20th century changed the lives of many women, opening new doors to greater opportunities such
has: jobs, education, and empowerment. Many achievements and organizations were a success in
bringing a new role into society for women all over. However, the battle that seems to keep
reappearing over time is the constant struggle between man and women and the fundamental question
that still is left unanswered, who is inferior? In her novel, The Second Sex, Simone de Beauvoir
discusses the role of women as being oppressed in the views of men who ... Show more content on

Beauvoir notes in her second volume, When I wrote that one is not born, but rather becomes a woman
I meant just this that women become feminine through the process of social brainwashing and
stereotyping. She states key points of womanhood that are notably unseen or foreign in man:
pregnancy, lactation, and menstruation. Thus, this type of phenomena contributes to the marked
difference in women all together. Furthermore, what society seems to overlook when they take these
types of differences are the existential importance s that each carry on. Thus, woman may fail to lay
claim to the status of subject because she lacks definite resources, because she feels the necessary
bond that ties her to man regardless of reciprocity, and because she is often very well pleased with her
role as the Other.
Women overall are raised believe that the only way to achieve happiness and gain success is through
the acceptance of denying her true identity. Women all over are being deprived of their possibilities for
fulfillment and opportunity because they are shaped based on their childhood where they learn to
accept the dissatisfying life of work around the house, nurturing and raising children, and the sexual
slavishness. While living the kind of adulthood, Beauvoir addresses the certain roles women live in a
sexist society: wife, mother,

Personal Statement For My Future Goals Essay
This assessment requires me to reflect on past experiences in physical activity and how I have been
involved in these activities in the past. And how these experiences varied by the contribution towards
my own wellbeing. I will then evaluate this to make strategies for my future lifelong wellbeing in the
future what it should look like.
Physical activities and experiences that I paraitcaped in as I grew up I mainly found swim sessions,
ball rush, golf and cricket as positive experiences as we did them with my family and younger friends
which I really enjoyed doing I found rugby to become a negative experience for me. As in rugby my
friends had stopped playing, as I was too small and got smashed from the larger players so I
participated in other activities. Rugby is a national sport in New Zealand and I have the assumption of
being played by large muscular males and most New Zealand children when growing up. Which in my
case is not true as I m more towards the ectomorph body shape which proves the assumption that the
bigger mesomorph players tended to be better than I was at the time. A positive of this rugby
expericne was that it is a sport that I ve had not family influences to participate in it as many of the
sports I do play have, which can be a positive from this experience. I ve always enjoyed playing golf
as I ve played it all my life since I was little. My dad introduced me to the game and I ve been playing

following topics are addressed in this paper:
1. Definition of Multi National Corporation

3. Management Style and Culture Shock
4. Management Style of a Multi National Corporation : Toyota Motors

From a management view, global workforce is diversified and unchartered territory since every
country, even in the same region, is different. For example, Singapore is in the same region as
Malaysia but its labor laws and business norms are different. A modern thinking management must be
aware of the cultural differences, customs, geographic needs, governmental trade requirements and
even gender biases in some countries. An example of this would be workers in Bangladesh may
oppose a female supervisor. Managers also need to understand the customs, policies, politics and
history of the foreign country; and the religious practices of a foreign country for example in Brunei or
Malaysia the observance of Ramadan and Friday is prayer day.
Managers interested in venturing into the global market should be aware of the best way to approach
global demographics from a business to consumer perspective, taking an international product or
service and localizing it successfully. Source: Boundless. The Challenge of Globalization. (Boundless

Violations In All The President s Men
All the President s Men is a film that covers the 1972 Watergate scandal, which occurred during the
Nixon presidency and was the ultimate cause of his downfall. The film immediately takes place in the
Democratic Party Headquarters at Watergate, where we see five burglars bugging equipment and are
being warned that someone has entered the building. Shortly after, they are caught, and word has
gotten out about the situation. We are then welcomed into the Washington Post office. Initially,
Woodward is the journalist in charge of covering the story as it develops, with Bernstein eventually
working alongside him. They both do everything in their power to shed light on the truth of the
injustices at work in the White House. Enduring long stressful days, Bernstein and Woodward finally

The factor that makes slightly changes between one individual to another is the mutation. It is said that
mutation occurs randomly and with no control, and by this the natural selection happens, and the
individuals more suitable to the environment passes the genes, and the mutation that guaranteed the
survival is going to operate in the next generation, and it keeps happening. It seems so meaningless to
address the reason of the existence of humans, and all nature to multiple random events in the genes.
In addition, what about the beginning of life? The theory of origin of life (Abiogenesis) says that by
the combination of various inorganic chemicals, the first living unicellular appears spontaneously. I
am also very unlike to believe that all began with a simple spontaneous event. I accommodate both
Christian beliefs, and the scientific theory. I think that, there is something like a trigger inside the
DNA of all living beings, which drives certain individuals to differentiate from the others, and it
makes them to survive. I believe that God, a divine force, conduct this trigger to make sure that the
survival happens. About the theory of the origin of life, I also believe that is was not spontaneous. I
think the divine force guided somehow the biological interactions between the abiotic factors to
generate the appropriate conditions for life on Earth, and to create the first living

Knowledge in Gilgamesh and Genesis Essay
Ancient world literature and early civilization stories turn around human s relationship with higher
beings. Ancient civilizations were extremely religious, holding the belief that their very lives were in
the hands of their almighty god or goddess. This holds true for both the people of biblical times as
well as those of the epic era. However, their stories have some differences according to cultural
variation but the main structure, idea and theme are generally found correlative. It is hard to believe
that that one work did not affect the others. The first great heroic epic poem of Gilgamesh and the Old
Testament are two cultures that are hundreds of years apart. Upon studying the book of Genesis and
the story of Gilgamesh; whereas one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Omniscient God only have the power, knowledge and control over human; to maintain that superiority
God typically responds to human behavior with what they deserve. God blesses the righteous and
punishes the evil man to remind their limitation and worship to the God.
Throughout the Book of Genesis, the idea of knowledge emerges throughout punishment. This theme
is most apparent when Adam and Eve deceive God by eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good
and Evil. When they do this, they are immediately given the ability to discern between right and
wrong. The Bible states, The woman saw that the tree was good for food, pleasing to the eyes, and
desirable for gaining knowledge (Genesis 3:6). Promptly Adam and Eve gain knowledge and realize
their nakedness as deity punishment.
Likewise in Gilgamesh, Enkidu, was a wild man before seduced by a harlot from Uruk. After his
encounter with harlot he notices his abilities have been greatly suppressed. Enkidu was grown weak,
the narrator tells us, for wisdom was in him, and the thoughts of a man were in his heart. The woman
says to him, You are wise, Enkidu, and now you have become like a god. Why do you want to run
wild with the beasts in the hills? She tells him about strong walled Uruk and the blessed temple of
Ishtar and of Anu, of love and of heaven, and about Gilgamesh himself. (Gilgamesh page 15). This
suppression is from the gods for his acquisition of knowledge. Both Eve s nakedness and

I Think Ktm Dirt Bikes Are Better Than Yamaha Dirt Bike
I think KTM dirt bikes are better than Yamaha dirt bikes. KTM might not sell as many in the United
States compared to Yamaha, but if you look at an international race you will see that 90% of the
athletes ride KTMs. The KTM is built in Austria, where the Yamahas are built in Japan. Both
companies build both track and trail bikes, and two strokes and four strokes. KTMs are famous for
their crazy power from their two stroke line. Yamaha is known for producing good, reliable four stroke
bikes. KTM was founded back in 1934 by Hans Trunkenpolz but didn t start large production and
sales of motorcycles until 1981. Yamaha was founded in 1955 by a group of people from Japan, they

The KTM also comes equipped with a self adjusting hydraulic clutch that works amazing, the clutch is
very smooth and powerful. Now compare it to the Yamaha s old school cable clutch, which is
relatively smooth, but can sometimes get hung up in the cable housing, or the cable gets stretched out
and needs to be replaced often. The KTM comes stock with billet hubs, these are amazing hubs that
are super smooth rolling and relatively low maintenance. The reason that I like the KTM better than
the Yamaha is because I have both brand bikes. I ride the KTM the most because I like the way it feels
and the massive amount of power behind it. It is a fast, nimble bike great for both motocross and
enduro. I have also worked on both bikes and can say that the KTM is far easier to work on. The
Yamaha is still a good bike, but the KTM is just better in my opinion. The Yamaha is kind of an old
bike now; they haven t changed the frame or the engine since 2006 when they did a whole makeover
to the bike. The suspension has had some tuning in the recent years, they upgraded to SSS suspension
and added some wider foot pegs. The biggest thing that they upgraded for this year were the graphics
that were looking kind of old. Some people will argue that the Yamaha is a bit more reliable than the
KTM is, and I will have to agree with that. Since the Yamaha is an older bike, they have some of the

Core values shape the culture and support the vision and identity of an organization. An organization

This Political Study Will Define The Reemergence Of...
This political study will define the reemergence of nationalism due to the failed economic policies of
globalization in the Brexit EU Vote. The Brexit Vote defines the lack of economic security promised
by the European Union, which had dominated much of Britain s global objectives in the world
economy. However, the problematic banking issues of the European Central bank (ECB) and the
bankruptcy of certain nation states, such as Ireland, Greece, and Portugal, have inspired a new
nationalist movement in England to leave the EU. The Brexit Vote, held on June 23rd, 2016, defined a
powerful collective process in which 51.9% of the votes decided to lave the EU. This decision was
primarily based on reclaiming British nationalism to regain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These political trends reveal the underlying trend in nationalism as part of the growing problem of
economic inequality, which was devastating the British economy for the greater masses of working
people. The lack of resolution for the economic recession brought about a public reaction to policies
related to nationalistic objectives, which were dominated by populist sentiment: At a time when so
many Europeans are faced with unemployment, uncertainty and growing inequality (200). Certainly,
the vote for Brexit defines the underlying re reemergence of nationalism as a political option in the
opposition of failed EU economic policies.
The Brexit Vote also defined a complex new set of nationalist principles, which were based on the
turning back the clock of racial identity in the pre EU global order. For instance, the re emergence of
nationalism was also being defined by a the Anglo Saxon purity of cultural and racial traditions, which
undermined the tensions behind the Brexit Vote. In this manner, the perception of job losses in
England also exacerbated racial tensions in relation to the immigration crisis across Europe. Many
British citizens felt that a lack of regulatory process in EU immigration policy threatened their job
security due to the lower wages being paid for immigrant worker:
But others suggest it was really a cultural divide that was revealed, rather than an economic one.

Space Based Solar Power ( Sbsp )
Space Based Solar Power It is no secret that the earth is in need of a new sustainable source of energy.
There is a limited supply of fossil fuels on the planet, and the energy generating solutions that are
currently in action are only decelerating the rate of consumption of nonrenewable energy. The U.S.
Energy Information Administration predicts that the earth will run out of useable fossil fuels by 2088
if the current rates of consumption continue. A promising long term solution to this crisis is space
based solar power (SBSP). To attain SBSP, satellites are sent up in space to obtain direct and constant
solar energy, then laser technology beams the gathered energy down to earth where it can be
constantly and globally utilized. Space based solar power is not a new idea, the Department of Energy
first studied it in the 1970s, and NASA took another look in the 90s. The stumbling block has been
less the engineering challenge than the cost (Sofge). Funding for space based solar power is costly, but
not unreasonable. As the current energy on earth depletes and the urgency for a new sustainable source
grows, there must be greater steps made towards a solution. Space based solar power is a viable
solution to the world s looming need for a new energy source, but in order to make this idea a reality
more funding is needed. The challenge is one of perception, says John Mankins, president of the
Space Power Association and the leader of NASA s mid 1990s SBSP study.

De Aeternitate Mundi By St. Thomas Aquinas
In De Aeternitate Mundi, St. Thomas Aquinas postulates whether the world could have always existed
and whether God could have caused the world to begin existing. Initially, St. Thomas Aquinas posits
that if either an eternal or temporal world is possible, then it is impossible to conclude that the world is
definitely eternal or created in time without divine revelation. Basically, Aquinas is saying that both
worlds are possible.
The eternity of the world argument is this if it be impossible that something caused by God has always
existed, it will be so either because God could not make something that has always existed or because
such a thing could not be made, regardless of God s ability to make it. Basically, if the world could not

Since nothingness is followed by existence in time, then there existed an instance when existence was
nothing. Thus, there was a certain time that the world did not exist. In contrast, Aquinas states Rather
it suffices that non being be prior to being by nature. Now, whatever naturally pertains to something in
itself is prior to what that thing only receives from another. Essentially, Aquinas is positing that if an
order is affirmed it is due to nature and not time. To say that X is made from nothing means that it is
not made from anything. Further, Aquinas states, A creature does not have being, however, except
from another, for, considered in itself, every creature is nothing, and thus, with respect to the creature,
non being is prior to being by nature. Essentially, Aquinas postulates that non being precedes being by
nature because something needs to be caused by something else. Further, Aquinas asserts, the nature
of the creature is such that, if the creature were left to itself, it would be nothing. Aquinas is saying
that if something in itself is considered you can consider it nothing because it cannot cause itself.
Additionally, Aquinas uses the example of the sun illuminating an object, the air, demonstrating that

The Problem Of Mental Illness
Eight years old was the age when Elyn Saks experienced the first symptoms of an illness that would
later threaten to tear apart her entire future. To complicate the situation, she was not dealing with an
entirely physical illness. Although she did not know at the time, Saks was suffering from the
beginnings of the notorious mental illness called Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is widely known for
the way in which it inhibits a person s sense of reality, causing hallucinations and delusions among
those who suffer from it. This disease is often the first idea that comes to mind when anyone says the
phrase mental illness. The world society still fears and romanticizes the concept of much mental
illness, illness that often devastates lives. Media portrayal of the topic has caused many to regard it as
a taboo subject, but this issue is one that needs to be addressed. I became interested in the topic of
mental illness when I was in the eighth grade, due to struggles that I began to notice within myself.
Now, three years later, I have been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and major depression.
There are misconceptions surrounding and engulfing mental disorders and I felt that it was important
that I fight not only for my own benefit but for others battling these illnesses as well. The views in
modern day of mental illness are varying from accepting to a complete denial of a problem. It hurts
those suffering from mental illness when the uneducated public majority beats

Fraud can occur in many ways, either through the loss of a credit card or through other fraudulent
applications by the perpetrator. We also describe the perpetrators along with some characteristics
common to fraudsters. The hope in this paper is to build more awareness to the reader about this
growing problem and to offer insight which will aid individuals and merchants from becoming victims
of credit card fraud.
Statistics from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) show that credit card fraud has
reached the $1 billion mark and is growing. By the end of 2007, it is expected to reach the $3 billion
mark in the US alone ([4] ACFE, 2007, p. 1.104). The availability of shopping over the internet has
raised new concerns. Internet shopping continues to grow and there has been a 22 percent increase in
spending in 2005 as compared to spending in 2004 ([4] ACFE, 2007, p. 1.104). Total internet spending
has reached $143.2 billion in 2005 and surveys have shown that about 90 percent of all internet
purchases are paid online with a credit card. Fraud occurs on approximately 5 percent of all internet
purchases. What makes the internet so susceptible to fraud is the lack of face to face interaction with
the fraudster, which allows for more anonymity and makes prevention and detection more difficult.
During 2006, there were 207,492 complaints filed online with the Internet Crime Complaint Center
[18] IC3 (2006, p. 3). During 2006, internet auction

The Gap Of Quality Of Life Essay
I. Introduction
The problem that I am going to focus on this research paper is the gap of quality of life(QOL) between
panic disorder patients, nonclinical panickers and normal people without panic disorder. In 2009, The
National Institute of Mental Health announced that about six million American adults suffer from
panic disorder(PD). Panic attacks are defined as sudden bursts of emotions which include fear of
dying and losing control and so on. Most of the people suffer from occasional panic attacks but not all
of them develop into panic disorder. People who have worries about recurring panic attacks have more
frequent panic attacks than the others who do not. People who have genetic predisposition, had
extremely unpleasant early childhood experience with anxiety and risk, and having to face challenging
changes on becoming an independence adult are more like to have PD.
One out of 75 people suffer from panic disorder and it usually appear during the teen or early
adulthood. It is also said that having a family member with panic disorder will increase the risk of it in
other family members. PD is highly treatable with psychotherapy such as cognitive behavior therapy
or medication or both. Since PD symptoms are very similar to heart attacks or other life threatening
condition such as shortness of breath or hyperventilation, sweating, heart palpitations, chest pain,
trembling, dizziness, and hot or cold flashes, there are more chances to be misinterpreted those
symptoms and

some areas around the volcano, particularly the pumice plains created by the eruption s pyroclastic

Archaeologists can t just possess any Native American material on their own for research purposes
without the consultation of the Native American tribes. To the Native Americans, the past is connected
to present. Rebecca Tsosie, a law professor from the Arizona State University mentioned that The past
is very real to contemporary Indian people ans is preserved in oral histories and ongoing ceremonial
practices and beliefs. (66). The native people feel that they re obligated to take care of their past, they
have to honor their ancestors no matter how long ago they have passed away. They believe that they
should have the right to stop any behaviors that might desecrate their ancestors. It is very
understandable that one might not appreciate someone digging up their grandparents and perform

My Philosophy Of Recreation And Leisure In Modern Society
I used to equate recreation, leisure, and play with laziness and unproductiveness, but taking this class
has broadened my view of these terms and helped me to conceptualize my pre existing beliefs and
develop my philosophy.
Through this class I ve learned that recreation, leisure and play are essential, not only in my life, but
for all ages and in all cultures and societies. My Philosophy of recreation, leisure, and play is that you
need to have a balance. Work and other responsibilities need to be offset with recreation and stress
reducing healthy activities that enhance your life.
People have different definitions of recreation, leisure and play. Many things shape how people define
and value recreation such as personal experiences, culture and family values.
¹The text Recreation and Leisure in Modern Society, defines leisure as that portion of an individual s
time that is not directly devoted to work... or to other obligated forms of Maintenance or self care.
My definition of leisure is time spent unstructured. What I have learned this month by hourly logging
and journaling, is that I spend too much time participating in leisure activities. I often find myself
wasting a lot of time, napping, surfing the internet, viewing media, listening to music and keeping in
touch with friends through texting and snapchat.

these activities are often done in excess and get in

Doubt By Sister Aloysius
Our dark ideas can sometimes lead us to choose the way things are perceived, the unquestioned beliefs
we hold reinforce our nature of certainty consequently clouding our judgment of the truth, and making
it difficult for us to see beyond the darkness. Doubt is a story about A Catholic school in the Bronx,
throughout the story a judgment is formed through the dislike of Father Flynn, which is the Schools
Priest. Sister Aloysius overcasts her ideas on father Flynn and eventually accuses him of wrongfully
being involved with a troubled young African American Boy who s experienced considerable
difficulties in school, due to racial, and sexual orientation. In this film, we can see character

Zia Chisti s Orthodontic Disease
Orthodontic Treatment: The Clear Choice
Orthodontic treatment dates all the way back to the Egyptian era. For centuries people all over have
been fixed on the idea of straight teeth. Different cultures including Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome,
and Early France had different ways of straightening their teeth. Various people, mostly scientists and
philosophers, in history also made positive impacts in the orthodontic field. Today s current
orthodontic technology allows us to straighten our teeth without the hassle of wire and metal braces,
we use visibly clear retainers.
Zia Chisti was born in the United States of a Pakistani mother and American father. His father died at

acreage, including mangrove forests and salt marshes (Department of Environmental Protection,
2012). There is still decline as waterfront development and pollution threaten the abundance of this
essential tree. If the mangroves disappear from the Tampa Bay estuary, the area will suffer adverse
ecological and economic effects from the reduction of sea life. A reduction of mangrove trees can even
increase damage caused by natural disasters (Sandilyan and Kathiresan, 2012).
In order to maintain the health of these forests and the Tampa Bay Estuary I recommend enacting a
change in the 1996 Mangrove Trimming and Preservation Act to set stricter regulations on the
trimming of mangroves, a reduction on waterfront development, stricter control over pollutants in the
area, and the categorization of areas designated for mangrove growth, restriction, and removal. Failing
to enact these policies will cause

Observation of Sub-Atomic Particles
1. A) Part of the wave might penetrate it or it might not. This would be random and would depend on
the energy of the electron attempting to penetrate.
B) The pattern that initially seemed random would begin to acquire uniformity. Half of the electrons
would transmit and half would reflect and go back. Each of the electrons that transmitted would carry
its complete charge and mass.
C) One cannot say where the electron really is, whether a given electron will transmit or reflect. It is
only possible to state the probability of electrons actions. For example, one may say that the
probability is one in five that the electron will transmit and four out of five that it will be reflected
back.
D) Some physicists find the result difficult to accept because they perceive it as what Einstein called
God playing dice with the universe . The unpredictability inherent with this result and the fact that it
seems to contradict both Newtonian physics as well as reality, make it a less than ideal paradigm for
many physicists.
E) David Hume would have vehemently objected to my answer on part C). Hume s word view was
largely based on the belief that, to understand events in the universe, we must look to their cause. This
casual link is, therefore, disrupted under the conditions witnessed in the aforementioned experiment,
as we can see a cause but the result side of the chain is unknown.
2. A) Some Greek scientists based their opinion that the space between the earth and the planets and

  • 4. Character Analysis Of Little Snow White In Little Snow White by Germany, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm, there is a Queen who becomes jealous of her seven year old daughter. She envied her daughter s beauty and sends a huntsman to kill Snow White. Snow White is then all alone and unable to care for herself and becomes dependent of the Seven Dwarfs. Although she is the main character, she is also the weakest character in the story. In Fables, we encounter a very different Snow White. Here Snow White oversees the town, Fabletown. Unlike the original fairytale story, there are no Dwarfs looking after her. She doesn t need a Prince to come to her rescue because she is the hero in her own right. Her fierceness makes her a strong female who embodies power. Unlike the Little Snow White, in Fables Snow White is the head in charge, she s independent, and bold. Snow White is the head in charge who runs a town called Fabletown. She still needs to run things by the Mayor but overall, she is the face of Fabletown. Others come to her with their problems in hopes of a solution. Contrary to the Snow White we know from the original fairytales where Snow White is not in charge of anything and no one comes to her for solutions. Instead, she has the seven dwarfs looking out for her. For example, when the queen tried to kill her they said, It must have been the queen who tried to kill you, take care, and do not let anyone in again (Germany, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm). This shows pity on the dwarf s behalf because they knew she was unable to care for herself. However, in Fables, Snow White is now the one looking out for others. For example, Beauty and the Beast come to Snow White for help with their marriage. Although, Snow White was not able to give them a solution, she was now on the opposite end of the table unlike the young and naïve Snow from the fairytale who sought others for her problems. Fables shows a great representation of an independent woman with Snow White. After leaving the homeland and moving to Fabletown, Snow White does not have her Prince Charming. Instead, this Snow White shows that she can do anything she sets her mind to without any help. Something that did not occur in the fairytale where the prince comes to her rescue and they live happily ever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Labor Market Flexibility Labor Market Flexibility is, in theory, the prerogative of employers to hire and subsequently fire workers without oversight, or the regard for regulation and/or influence of work unions (Marmot Wilkinson, 2006). The thought process behind this idea is that firms are more likely to increase their workforce, and that a greater portion of society can be employed. Through my experience in watching the financial industry and business oriented Bloomberg News channel on Television, the model of having less regulatory oversight and influences from outside sources brings down the operating costs of companies and corporations, thereby allowing for greater investments by said firms, presumably, to hire more people. As indicated by (Marmot Wilkinson, 2006), individuals with higher levels of job insecurity are thought to be more enticed to work harder than others, so this labor market model would be followed by an uptick in population wide productivity levels. • 7. Original Sin In The Bible One of the most commonly known stories of the Bible is the story of Adam and Eve. The story is contained within that of Genesis, and a crucial moment in this tale is the moment Eve is tempted by the serpent to go against God s will. This crucial moment is known as original sin, as this moment is when both Adam and Eve fall from God s favor into the suffering and sin that is present in our modern world. The tribulations that we were exempt from previously were now instated in our dominion due to this original sin. However, while reading this Bible story, I did not truly understand this insight. While analyzing and reading the actual story for the first time, I gained more insight into this original sin, and God s almighty power over all, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Milton s Paradise Lost, Satan is characterized as a vengeful fallen angel who, while attempting to rile his fallen army once again to battle, constantly battles with the inner despair and sorrow he feels due to his loss against God. Satan struggles to fully realize God s almighty power against the fallen angels, although the point is made by multiple different fellow commanders. Satan then focuses his destruction upon God s creation, humans. He believes that by introducing sin to them, he will grieve God. The epic poem ends the second book with Satan s ascent into Heaven to trick Adam and Eve. In Paradise Lost, the book s message states that when humans are given the choice between sin and salvation, the choice of salvation and return to God s grace makes God s power even stronger than any evil s. Paradise Lost reinstates the insights I claimed through the story in the Bible, that we must be aware of the choices we make between good or bad, and that if we are drawn into temptations and sin, God s salvation is always more powerful than any temporary luxury that temptation ... • 8. Feral Children Case Study I recall hearing an interesting story about a young child a while back, who was raised by wolves and behaved much like them. Feral children are the result of years of neglect and isolation. They are children who have been raised away from society in harsh and solitary conditions. These children are for the most part always mentally and socially underdeveloped. To understand feral children, one should examine how they respond to isolation, how they react to integration, and if they are able to acquire the skills they lost while being deprived of social interaction. Before we can examine the behavior of these children, we need to determine the root cause of this transgression. Growing up, these kids have very limited contact with other people, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the case of children raised by animals, they at least do learn some skills that can be helpful towards their survival. A child raised in complete isolation however, will lack drastically more social and physical skills. These children may not show any levels of intelligence. A case of this type of isolation was that of a child named Anna, who was born in 1932 in Pennsylvania. Anna was raised in solitude ever since her mother was unsuccessful in giving her away. For about 6 years, Anna was in total isolation and was barely given enough food to keep her alive. She was completely alone, and did not get to interact with anybody else during the time she was being kept, locked away in a dark room. Considering the fact that this was happening during an important stage in the developmental process, it had a great impact on Anna s cognitive ability. Once she was found, she was in a very bad state both physically and mentally. She was suffering from malnutrition as well as her muscles showed signs of atrophy. She was immobile, expressionless and indifferent to everything, (Davis 1). Atrophy is a condition in which the muscle and tissue rot away, meaning that Anna was very diseased and living in terrible conditions. She also didn t react to anything around her or any type of stimuli, revealing that her cognition was very slow, and something was wrong with her mentally. • 9. The Second Sex! The Feminist Movement (also known as The Women s Liberation movement) is a social movement organized around the belief that both men and women are equal in every way. The role of feminism in the 20th century changed the lives of many women, opening new doors to greater opportunities such has: jobs, education, and empowerment. Many achievements and organizations were a success in bringing a new role into society for women all over. However, the battle that seems to keep reappearing over time is the constant struggle between man and women and the fundamental question that still is left unanswered, who is inferior? In her novel, The Second Sex, Simone de Beauvoir discusses the role of women as being oppressed in the views of men who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beauvoir notes in her second volume, When I wrote that one is not born, but rather becomes a woman I meant just this that women become feminine through the process of social brainwashing and stereotyping. She states key points of womanhood that are notably unseen or foreign in man: pregnancy, lactation, and menstruation. Thus, this type of phenomena contributes to the marked difference in women all together. Furthermore, what society seems to overlook when they take these types of differences are the existential importance s that each carry on. Thus, woman may fail to lay claim to the status of subject because she lacks definite resources, because she feels the necessary bond that ties her to man regardless of reciprocity, and because she is often very well pleased with her role as the Other. Women overall are raised believe that the only way to achieve happiness and gain success is through the acceptance of denying her true identity. Women all over are being deprived of their possibilities for fulfillment and opportunity because they are shaped based on their childhood where they learn to accept the dissatisfying life of work around the house, nurturing and raising children, and the sexual slavishness. And how these experiences varied by the contribution towards my own wellbeing. I will then evaluate this to make strategies for my future lifelong wellbeing in the future what it should look like. Physical activities and experiences that I paraitcaped in as I grew up I mainly found swim sessions, ball rush, golf and cricket as positive experiences as we did them with my family and younger friends which I really enjoyed doing I found rugby to become a negative experience for me. As in rugby my friends had stopped playing, as I was too small and got smashed from the larger players so I participated in other activities. Rugby is a national sport in New Zealand and I have the assumption of being played by large muscular males and most New Zealand children when growing up. Which in my case is not true as I m more towards the ectomorph body shape which proves the assumption that the bigger mesomorph players tended to be better than I was at the time. A positive of this rugby expericne was that it is a sport that I ve had not family influences to participate in it as many of the sports I do play have, which can be a positive from this experience. Ancient civilizations were extremely religious, holding the belief that their very lives were in the hands of their almighty god or goddess. However, their stories have some differences according to cultural variation but the main structure, idea and theme are generally found correlative. God blesses the righteous and punishes the evil man to remind their limitation and worship to the God. Throughout the Book of Genesis, the idea of knowledge emerges throughout punishment. This theme is most apparent when Adam and Eve deceive God by eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. When they do this, they are immediately given the ability to discern between right and wrong. The Bible states, The woman saw that the tree was good for food, pleasing to the eyes, and desirable for gaining knowledge (Genesis 3:6). Yamaha is known for producing good, reliable four stroke bikes. KTM was founded back in 1934 by Hans Trunkenpolz but didn t start large production and sales of motorcycles until 1981. The KTM comes stock with billet hubs, these are amazing hubs that are super smooth rolling and relatively low maintenance. The reason that I like the KTM better than the Yamaha is because I have both brand bikes. I ride the KTM the most because I like the way it feels and the massive amount of power behind it. It is a fast, nimble bike great for both motocross and enduro. I have also worked on both bikes and can say that the KTM is far easier to work on. • 21. Space Based Solar Power ( Sbsp ) Space Based Solar Power It is no secret that the earth is in need of a new sustainable source of energy. There is a limited supply of fossil fuels on the planet, and the energy generating solutions that are currently in action are only decelerating the rate of consumption of nonrenewable energy. The U.S. Energy Information Administration predicts that the earth will run out of useable fossil fuels by 2088 if the current rates of consumption continue. A promising long term solution to this crisis is space based solar power (SBSP). To attain SBSP, satellites are sent up in space to obtain direct and constant solar energy, then laser technology beams the gathered energy down to earth where it can be constantly and globally utilized. Space based solar power is not a new idea, the Department of Energy first studied it in the 1970s, and NASA took another look in the 90s. The stumbling block has been less the engineering challenge than the cost (Sofge). Funding for space based solar power is costly, but not unreasonable. As the current energy on earth depletes and the urgency for a new sustainable source grows, there must be greater steps made towards a solution. Space based solar power is a viable solution to the world s looming need for a new energy source, but in order to make this idea a reality more funding is needed. The challenge is one of perception, says John Mankins, president of the Space Power Association and the leader of NASA s mid 1990s SBSP study. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Basically, Aquinas is saying that both worlds are possible. The eternity of the world argument is this if it be impossible that something caused by God has always existed, it will be so either because God could not make something that has always existed or because such a thing could not be made, regardless of God s ability to make it. By the end of 2007, it is expected to reach the $3 billion mark in the US alone ([4] ACFE, 2007, p. 1.104). The availability of shopping over the internet has raised new concerns. Introduction The problem that I am going to focus on this research paper is the gap of quality of life(QOL) between panic disorder patients, nonclinical panickers and normal people without panic disorder. In 2009, The National Institute of Mental Health announced that about six million American adults suffer from panic disorder(PD). Panic attacks are defined as sudden bursts of emotions which include fear of dying and losing control and so on. Most of the people suffer from occasional panic attacks but not all of them develop into panic disorder. People who have worries about recurring panic attacks have more frequent panic attacks than the others who do not. People who have genetic predisposition, had extremely unpleasant early childhood experience with anxiety and risk, and having to face challenging changes on becoming an independence adult are more like to have PD. One out of 75 people suffer from panic disorder and it usually appear during the teen or early adulthood. It is also said that having a family member with panic disorder will increase the risk of it in other family members. PD is highly treatable with psychotherapy such as cognitive behavior therapy or medication or both. The environment determined what thrived and what didn t, and this process has gradually built up the species now back in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Essay On Dystopia This movie fits very nicely into the category of dystopian society demographic, it s quite literally a dystopia that appears to be a utopia. The whole society is controlled by the philosophical idea that if you were not created inside of a lab then you are less than human. Those who were created through a natural birth are not able to get good jobs, mostly stuck working jobs like janitors or waiters, they are not trusted enough to get any good jobs, like doctors and scientist because people simply do not believe in their genetic layout, why have someone who is only expected to live to 23 become a scientist when there are people who were created specially to perform the job. Along with this, there are many clues that show just how much of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What you could consider the natural world does not go, the idea that natural births are the best way to have children is now thrown out the window thanks to science. Everyone is now grown in a lab, also this world is kept unnaturally clean, there are not people sleeping in the streets, no dust on old books, as well as everything is kept sanitizes and organized with no room for error, this motto is often said, cleaenslesness is next to godliness. Individuality is seen as bad, most citizens keep to a simple appearance, clean crisp suit, and most women kept their hair tied back in a tight bun, throughout the movie you see almost no people who appear to be expressing themselves through clothing or at their workplace, desks appear to be kept clean of any personal items, like a photo of a lover or family member. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Archaeologists can t just possess any Native American material on their own for research purposes without the consultation of the Native American tribes. To the Native Americans, the past is connected to present. Rebecca Tsosie, a law professor from the Arizona State University mentioned that The past is very real to contemporary Indian people ans is preserved in oral histories and ongoing ceremonial practices and beliefs. (66). The native people feel that they re obligated to take care of their past, they have to honor their ancestors no matter how long ago they have passed away. They believe that they should have the right to stop any behaviors that might desecrate their ancestors. It is very understandable that one might not appreciate someone digging up their grandparents and perform research without permission. Especially to people who practices a religion, this action may be interpreted as the archaeologists trying to disturb the spirits of their ancestors. Not only the remains and objects are important to the Natives, but also their land. Land was considered to be a gift given from the Creator. Just like the ancestral remains the descendants are responsible for their sacred land. It is believed that The land is complete with sacred teachings, marked by tribal history, and places of interrelations to the powerful beings of the nature spirit world. (Champagne). • 33. My Philosophy Of Recreation And Leisure In Modern Society I used to equate recreation, leisure, and play with laziness and unproductiveness, but taking this class has broadened my view of these terms and helped me to conceptualize my pre existing beliefs and develop my philosophy. Through this class I ve learned that recreation, leisure and play are essential, not only in my life, but for all ages and in all cultures and societies. My Philosophy of recreation, leisure, and play is that you need to have a balance. Work and other responsibilities need to be offset with recreation and stress reducing healthy activities that enhance your life. People have different definitions of recreation, leisure and play. Many things shape how people define and value recreation such as personal experiences, culture and family values. ¹The text Recreation and Leisure in Modern Society, defines leisure as that portion of an individual s time that is not directly devoted to work... or to other obligated forms of Maintenance or self care. My definition of leisure is time spent unstructured. What I have learned this month by hourly logging and journaling, is that I spend too much time participating in leisure activities. I often find myself wasting a lot of time, napping, surfing the internet, viewing media, listening to music and keeping in touch with friends through texting and snapchat. Overall there s nothing wrong with these activities if done in moderation. But what I found is that these activities are often done in excess and get in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Doubt By Sister Aloysius Our dark ideas can sometimes lead us to choose the way things are perceived, the unquestioned beliefs we hold reinforce our nature of certainty consequently clouding our judgment of the truth, and making it difficult for us to see beyond the darkness. Doubt is a story about A Catholic school in the Bronx, throughout the story a judgment is formed through the dislike of Father Flynn, which is the Schools Priest. Sister Aloysius overcasts her ideas on father Flynn and eventually accuses him of wrongfully being involved with a troubled young African American Boy who s experienced considerable difficulties in school, due to racial, and sexual orientation. • 38. Zia Chisti s Orthodontic Disease Orthodontic Treatment: The Clear Choice Orthodontic treatment dates all the way back to the Egyptian era. For centuries people all over have been fixed on the idea of straight teeth. Different cultures including Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, and Early France had different ways of straightening their teeth. Various people, mostly scientists and philosophers, in history also made positive impacts in the orthodontic field. Today s current orthodontic technology allows us to straighten our teeth without the hassle of wire and metal braces, we use visibly clear retainers. Zia Chisti was born in the United States of a Pakistani mother and American father. His father died at a young age so Chisti and his mother moved to Lahore, Pakistan. There he went to Lahore American School, a secondary school in the capital. Chisti continued his education at Columbia College in New York, where he majored in Economics and Computer Sciences. After Columbia College, Chasti furthered his education at Stanford Business, where he founded Align Technology. Chisti was an adult orthodontic patient who wore retainers to make sure his newly treated teeth would not move. Being a busy college student, Chisti would forget to wear his retainers for a couple days and put them back in when he remembered. • 39. Environmental Effects Of Mangroves Mangroves are an essential part of the Tampa Bay Estuary as they help maintain the overall health of the state s coastal zones. From the 1950s to the 1980s, the Tampa Bay was in its worst condition as a result of unregulated pollution into the Bay. Environmental regulations beginning in the 1970s with the Clean Water Act improved conditions in the bay but even today there persists a problem with pollution and the destruction of natural habitats (Water Resource Management and Environmental Assessment Restoration, 2014). Today, the Tampa Bay has lost over 44% of its coastal wetlands acreage, including mangrove forests and salt marshes (Department of Environmental Protection, 2012). There is still decline as waterfront development and pollution threaten the abundance of this essential tree. If the mangroves disappear from the Tampa Bay estuary, the area will suffer adverse ecological and economic effects from the reduction of sea life. A reduction of mangrove trees can even increase damage caused by natural disasters (Sandilyan and Kathiresan, 2012). In order to maintain the health of these forests and the Tampa Bay Estuary I recommend enacting a change in the 1996 Mangrove Trimming and Preservation Act to set stricter regulations on the trimming of mangroves, a reduction on waterfront development, stricter control over pollutants in the area, and the categorization of areas designated for mangrove growth, restriction, and removal. Failing to enact these policies will cause ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Observation of Sub-Atomic Particles 1. A) Part of the wave might penetrate it or it might not. This would be random and would depend on the energy of the electron attempting to penetrate. B) The pattern that initially seemed random would begin to acquire uniformity. Half of the electrons would transmit and half would reflect and go back. Each of the electrons that transmitted would carry its complete charge and mass. C) One cannot say where the electron really is, whether a given electron will transmit or reflect. It is only possible to state the probability of electrons actions. For example, one may say that the probability is one in five that the electron will transmit and four out of five that it will be reflected back. D) Some physicists find the result difficult to accept because they perceive it as what Einstein called God playing dice with the universe . The unpredictability inherent with this result and the fact that it seems to contradict both Newtonian physics as well as reality, make it a less than ideal paradigm for many physicists. E) David Hume would have vehemently objected to my answer on part C). Hume s word view was largely based on the belief that, to understand events in the universe, we must look to their cause. This casual link is, therefore, disrupted under the conditions witnessed in the aforementioned experiment, as we can see a cause but the result side of the chain is unknown. 2.
