Dreaming Research Papers
Humans spend about one third of their lives asleep, and research says that a quarter of our time asleep
is filled with dreams. Dreaming is very mysterious matter, and while many theories have been made,
scientists still do not know why we dream when we are asleep. However, it is important to remember
that scientists are still uncovering the function of sleep itself. The study of dreaming still has a long
way to go, but hopefully one day, we will uncover the mystery of dreaming. So what are dreams
exactly? Dreams are a universal human experience that can be described as a state of consciousness
characterized by sensory, cognitive and emotional occurrences during sleep. The dreamer has reduced
control over the content, visual images ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ernest Hartmann, author of The Nightmare and Dreams and Nightmares has performed one of the
most extensive studies of frequent nightmares. Hartmann states that the dream, notably the central
image (CI), pictures the emotion of the dreamer and that the intensity of the central image is a measure
of the strength of the emotion. This might be seen in nightmares when there is a single powerful
emotion following a traumatic event. Nightmares are often caused by a traumatic event. Trauma
caused nightmares are often a repetitive repeat of actual experiences that the dreamer

Social Media And Social Networking Essay
If asked, would you be able to explain what the definition of social media is? Social media is the noun
used to define websites that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social
networking. Now you may wonder, what is the difference in social media and social networking?
Social networking is the practice of expanding the number of one s business and/or social contacts by
making connections through individuals, often through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter,
Google+ and Instagram. (cite) | Statistics show that most children get introduced to cyberbullying
when they fully understand how to use the internet. The majority of children have admitted to
harassing or being bullied on a social media website from the age nine to eighteen. The gender of the
child also makes a difference according to some poles taken. Girls are more likely to spread rumors
through the virtual world, whereas; boys are more expected to comment and post antagonizing
pictures and videos. (good and interesting information to have but the transition from different social
media sites to the bullying paragraph is rapid and just thrown in there) Crazy to think but the birth of
social media was in 1997. The first social media site that everyone can agree actually was social media
was a website called Six Degrees. It was named after the six degrees of separation theory and lasted
from 1997 to 2001. Six degrees allowed users to create a profile and then friend other

Mnemonic Vs Concept Map Study
Two strategies for helping learners process the material that would facilitate effective storage and
retrieval is concept maps and using mnemonics. The way a learner could use concept map to learn the
material about African Kingdoms and Trading States is to create a diagram of Sunni Ali as a leader
and the predecessor Askia Muhammad and how Morocco soldiers had won due to guns, technology,
and cannons. The student can also create a map as shown in the map study, to determine the trading
states by using creating his own map and legend. After using the concept map as a strategy a student
could facilitate effective storage by understanding the concept map rather than memorizing. The
second strategy a learner could use is mnemonics to remember the first and last name of the rulers and
the place they had power in. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students are great would be a good mnemonic because it is catchy. Although there is one more ruler
after Sunni Ali using mnemonic is an effective way to facilitate storage and retrieval. For me
memorizing the name and location in history class was extremely difficult when I had taken it in high
school. After learning about these strategies it got a little bit easier and understandable. In conclusion I
believe that mnemonic and utilizing concept map is an effective way of storage and retrieval but this
may not be an effective strategy for everyone. Some learners are visual learners, auditory learners,
some write to retain information, and active learners also known as kinesthetic learners. These
methods work for certain types of

Darwin Vs Lamarck Analysis
It s a thursday night and the weirdest things has just happened to me a bunch of scientists had just
arrived at my door and i am confused and shocked at the same time right now i m wondering if they
will be joining us for dinner but first i m going to go grab a tape recorder so i have proof to show that i
did meet these people. Later that night we were having a good laugh, somehow we ended up talking
about evolution charles and lamarck were arguing about inherited traits and acquired characteristics.
lamarck was saying that if an organism needed a certain trait that they were able to obtain it and how
that once it is obtained it can be passed onto the offspring. Then charles darwin starts to argue by

everything is real then since it is all happening i ask for a million dollars sadly but i saw ten dollars

My Personal and Professional Ethics
The Beginnings: Morals, Values, and Ethics Given to Me as a Child
It is certain that one s childhood has a great influence in rest of their lives. What I saw, heard,
understood, encouragements and discouragements received, books read, friends and neighbors,
religion, teachers are some of the important things that have shaped me into an adult. Personality
development happens in the earlier stages of one s life and therefore things such as morality is
established during childhood. A person s moral code is what defines his or her personality, while,

My personal values led me to choose a profession which requires caring, knowledge and integrity.
Hence, I always find my personal values going in line with the requirement of nursing profession.
However, situations may arise where there is a conflict between my personal values and beliefs and
those of patient s. In such situations it is advisable to get help from fellow nurses or other members of
the healthcare team. As nurses we are accountable each and every actions and determined to uphold
the professional ethics. For instance, in the case of a criminal defense lawyer, the lawyer s personal
morals probably finds homicide to be depraved and deplorable. However, his legal ethics demands the
suspect to be defended in the court of law, even if the lawyer knows for a fact that the accused is
guilty and that if he or she is freed it could lead to more crime. Hence, I believe that in the
professional life of a nurse, just like a lawyer s, ethics must supersede morals for the greater good of
upholding values when a nurse encounters an equally difficult situation and painful options to choose

Analysis Of The Movie Remember The Titans
Movie project
Remember the titans was a movie that was released on September 23, 2000. The movie was directed
by Boaz Yakin. The movie includes famous stars such as Denzel Washington as Coach Herman
Boone, Will Patton as Coach Bill Yoast, and Wood Harris as Julius `Big Ju . The movie takes place in
Alexandria, Virginia. The schools in Alexandria were segregated based on race. It was in 1971 when
the school board forced the people to combine the white schools and the black schools in to one called
T.C. Williams High School. Coach Boon (Denzel Washington) who came from North Carolina was
put as a head coach by the school board which made the former coach and the white player unhappy
because of his skin color. Boone offered Yoast a defensive coordinator position which he refused first
but then was forced to accept the offer when the white player and their families pledged to boycott the
school if he don t participate. Herman was seen as savior from discrimination and segregation by the
African American people. Coach Herman took the team to a football camp to prepare them for the
season. Coach Herman Boone forced the players to sit and room together because he wanted the black
and the white players to learn to respect each other and embrace their difference. The African
Americans and white players were regularly fighting and arguing for instance captain Gerry Bertier

Good vs. Bad of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis...
Good vs. Bad of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a novella written by Robert Louis
Stevenson, a Scottish author. Written and published 1886, this novella reflects on the individual, and
societal behavior during the Victorian era. During the Victorian era people, were supposed to behave
like a normal person. Certain behaviors were highly restricted for example, showing evil. Instead, they
were expected to give respect for everyone. People who acted out against the norm during this period
were usually sent to asylums because such behaviors were unacceptable. People in this society did just
that, they behaved as if they were perfectly normal. This does not mean that their bad side did not
exist. Instead, they hid their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having a career in science and medicine was a big deal during this time. Dr. Jekyll is an educated,
wealthy, and well respected man. Through the eyes of the public, he is seen as a perfect, ideal
Victorian man. He is a large, well made, smooth faced man of fifty, with something of a slyish cast
perhaps, but every mark of capacity and kindness (31). Because of his status in society, Dr. Jekyll is
obligated to hide his pleasures and show the society his caring, affectionate, and loyal virtues. Dr.
Jekyll is benevolent and pleasant in his social interactions. He attempts to cover up his darker self by
creating a courteous public persona. Everyone has a different persona when they are outside in the
eyes of the public and when they are inside. Through Mr. Hyde, Dr. Jekyll reveals his destructive side.
Transforming into Mr. Hyde gives Dr. Jekyll a freedom to act and behave without caring about the
public s opinion or about the consequences of his actions. Dr. Jekyll is captured and locked up deep
inside, he appears reasonably appropriate on the exterior but his inner reflections drives him towards
immorality. As Dr. Jekyll privately turns into Mr. Hyde, not only is his appearance transformed, but
also his behavior. This can be a similar caparison on people in today s society. People with high status
or popularity are always being watched with every move they make. If they make one small mistake,
then that will look bad on

Essay on Arthur Mervyn
Charles Brockden Brown s novel, Arthur Mervyn, has been read by people across America from the
late eighteenth century up until today. Brown targeted many audiences in this novel but there is one in
particular that not only had an impact on people then, but can still captivate many in today s society.
That specific group involves people who are fighting an incurable illness, such as the Yellow Fever, as
described in the book. Although it was written in the late 1700 s, people in the twenty first century can
still relate to the characters in the book, and understand what they were feeling at that time. The goal
of this paper is to show that Brown s main intended audience was towards the incurably sick and that

I felt as if I inhaled a poisonous and subtle fluid...some fatal influence seemed to seize upon my vitals;
and the work of corrosion and decomposition to be busily begun (144). People often times make
assumptions about things when they don t really know what is going on. This is still the case in today
s time, when people assume the cause is one thing when it could be something completely different.
Mervyn seemed to know at this point that he was destined to die. Most of the fever victims had no
hopes of living once they contracted the illness. He later found sanctuary in the home of Welbeck, in
hopes of breathing his last there, stating, All I sought was the privilege of dying alone (182).
The Yellow Fever is no different than many incurable diseases that we are fighting in today s society,
such as AIDS, Hepatitis A B, Herpes, certain Cancers, Ebola and the Killer Flu. When a person
contacts some incurable disease, they must learn to live the rest of their lives with it, no matter how
long that may be. Victims of these diseases can read Arthur Mervyn and relate to the way that the
victims of the Yellow Fever felt; the only thing left to look forward to in life is death. Scientists today
still haven t found cures for so many of these diseases, just like the physicians in Arthur

Machiavelli s The Prince
Niccolo Machiavelli s advice towards leaders in his book The Prince is both relevant and not relevant
today in many ways. The European leader that I have chosen to prove what advice Machiavelli gave in
The Prince is relevant and what is not, is Edward Heath. Some of Edwards work relates to the advice
given by Machiavelli while many of it is the pure opposite of Machiavelli s advice. Edward Heath was
prime Minister for the Conservative Party from June 1970 through March 1975. While he was in
ruling, in 1972 unemployment began to rise considerably in Europe. In order to to help this crisis and
reduce the amount of unemployment Heath inflated the economy which eventually made everything
worse. Machiavelli said, He who successfully adapts his actions according to the nature of the times
will be successful, while he whose actions clash with the times will not be successful. Machiavelli is

Many years later people figured out that it is to be untrue. What Edward did, has caused a great deal of
damage to the country. Edward was dishonest. Machiavelli talks about being dishonest many times in
his book, The Prince. Machiavelli quotes in his book, A wise lord cannot, nor ought he to, keep his
promises when such observance would place him at a disadvantage, and when the reasons for which
he gave his word no longer exist. Machiavelli is basically saying it s ok to be dishonest and not keep
your promise in order to be a great leader. This is not true because Edward lied and that did not make
him a powerful or a better leader, it just made him the very opposite. Being dishonest is one thing that
is not true or relevant to being a successful leader which is one reason why Machiavelli s advice in

Use Of Technology For Preventing Drowsiness At The Time
Various investigation show that driver s drowsiness is one of the main cause of road accidents. The
development of technology for preventing drowsiness at the time is a major challenge in the field of
accidents avoidance. The advance in computing technology has provided the means for building
intelligent vehicle system. The purpose of this study is to detect the drowsiness in driver to prevent
accidents and to improve safety on the highway. The aim of this project is to design an Accident
Prevention System which helps in preventing or avoiding accidents.
A real time face detection is implemented to locate driver s face region. A method of detecting
drowsiness in drivers developed by using a camera that points directly towards the driver face and
capture for the video. As a detection method, the system uses image processing technology using
MATLAB to analysis images of the driver face taken with the help of video camera. The captured
video is done, it is converted into numbers of frame of face and monitoring of the face region and eyes
in order to detect drowsiness. The system is able to monitoring eyes and determine whether the eyes
are in an open or closed. This detection system provides a non contact technique for judging various
level of alertness and facilitates early detection of a decline in alertness during driving.

Sigmund Freud And The Grinch
Sigmund Freud who was an Austrian neurologist believes that personality consists of three interacting
structures: the id, the ego, and the superego. The Grinch was a very angry person, he had
demonstrated so much aggression towards the who s which lead to the destruction of the who s
Christmas. The fact that his desire was to ruin the who s Christmas proves that he is a heartless human
being. The id demands immediate satisfaction and when this happens we experience pleasure, when it
is denied we experience pain. The Grinch has had a rough childhood. As a child he did not fit in,
because of his looks, as he was just different from others. His miserable childhood is the true cause of
his aggression. This is where his id takes over. The Grinch

The Pros And Consequences Of The Cultural Revolution
In 1921, the Chinese Communist party arose, bringing about the ideologies of Karl Marx, along with
the removal of class exploitation and oppression. Mao s Ideological crusade, the Cultural Revolution
in 1966, was designed to jolt China back toward mass mobilization, and utopian idealism. The
Cultural Revolution was, a revolution for the Communist party as it was their goal to eliminate
counterrevolutionary ideology and eliminate all right wing influence. However, Mao s ideas of riding
China of capitalistic influences with violence and retaining power by manipulation was out of tune
with the ideas of the CCP because it ultimately led to a breakdown in culture, technology, and human
resources through decentralization and manipulation.
The Chinese Communist party emphasized the strategy of mass mobilization to improve industrial
production and agriculture. After a time of poverty and famine, Comrade Mao Zedong set out to gain
support in order to eradicate capitalistic influences. Mao said, In order to overthrow a political power,
it is always necessary to first of all, create public opinion, to do ideological work. (Sixteen Point
decision pg. 129).
Mao used public opinion to sway the revolution into unstable equilibrium. Mao uses the strategy of
the Cult of Personality to manipulate people to believe what they were doing was right, but in reality,
it was just a way for Mao to gain support. His support for classes like peasants and school kids was his

Essay On Photoperiob
Light
Increased photoperiod is associated with increased growth rate which demands more Ca2+.
Imbalances of Ca2+supply during high photoperiod renders the plant vulnerable to Ca2+ deficiency
disorders. Shading reduced the incidence of BER in tomato possibly by cut off of high light intensities
which promoted BER through accelerated fruit growth (Ho and White 2005a). Higher fruit growth
rate renders fruit to BER susceptibility through diluting fruit Ca2+ (Bertin et al. 2000; DeKock,
Inkson, and Hall 1982; Wui and Takano 1995). High light may reduce RH that causes the fruits
susceptible to Ca2+ related disorders (Adams and Ho 1993). Shading may delay the incidence of BER

RZT below 14 °C or above 26 °C has shown to reduce Ca2+ uptake (Adams and Ho, 1993; Ho, 1999).
Irrigation
Maintaining of optimum soil moisture levels neither too dry nor too wet can ensure consistent
movement of Ca from soil to plant which might be helpful to reduce incidence of Ca2+ deficiency
disorders in plants. Tomato BER was increased with dryness of substrate (Adams and Holder 1992)
though high soil moisture levels (20 kPa tension) showed rapid incidence of tip burn than low
moisture (200 kPa tension) in lettuce (Bert and Honma 1975). Fennel tip burn was decreased with
irrigation (van Wijk and van den Broek 1997) level. Temporary drought can cause severe tip burn in
vegetables (Saure 1998). Methods of irrigation also influence incidence of Ca2+ deficiency disorders.
Sprinkler irrigation effectively reduced tip burn of lettuce leaf through increasing Ca supply(Jiande,
Wenqiang, and Mingshan 2006; Obispo 1997). Irrigation reduced tip burn by 23% compared to
control (no irrigation, rain only) (Cox and Dearman 1981). In this proposal, BER incidence of bell
pepper as affected by Ca2+ fertilizer, irrigation rate and shade net will be investigated.
RH
Relative humidity can influence Ca2+ movement within plant through altering rate of transpiration. As
Ca2+ moves into and through the plant with the flow of transpiration, high RH that depressed the rate
of transpiration may restrict the movement of Ca2+ though

Yet again, there is no singular answer, but it may be rooted in traditional perspectives of women s
health. Until very recently, women s bodies had been perceived as analogous to those of men, aside
from reproduction, and therefore they did not merit study. It was not until 1993 that women were even
included in medical trials. The uniqueness of individuals was completely overlooked, despite the
impact of individual experiences have on every aspect of health (Goldstein, 2002). Meanwhile,
women s reproductive health has been viewed in western medicine as difficult and described as
natural abnormal. (Wiley, 2009). It is clear that this stems from male domination in the biomedical
field over the years it is a sort of ethnocentrism of the sexes. Women s health has been medicalized for
years, from hysteria to premenstrual syndrome. Because these syndromes do not appear worldwide, it
appears that they are cultural constructs developed to explain women s bodies in a way that medical
science can easily understand. Even the mundane of women s health is treated medically:
menstruation is regularly described in negative terms, focusing upon the associated problems; the
experience of pregnancy has become increasingly medicalized, with extensive testing, hospitalization,
and surgery; and menopause is treated as a disease of aging, with hot flashes being described as an

The Batek people are a very simply people who rely on the forest to provide their needs to sustain life.
These indigenous people have very little need for an economic system. They do not own anything nor
do they want to. They will produce items from the forest know as rattan. These good often traded for
other rattan that is not native to them. The Batek might do some light agriculture work, but mostly,
they are foragers that live off the land and enjoy the peace that comes with common wealth. The Batek
have no concept of land ownership the idea is absurd to them and natural resources in the forest
cannot be owned until someone harvests them (Peaceful n.d). Without ownership and money, there is
no greed or lust of what another person has.
Simplicity is that of the Batik; they are peaceful, helpful and encouraging. They are able to form a

that gets them through life. Normally, the Batek people live in domestic groups of not less than three

help our world. In the field of biotechnology biology is used involving the use of living organisms in
engineering, technology, medicine and other fields that have include anything with bio products.
Those products are also used in biotechnology for manufacturing purposes. Other words that are alike
are ones that include the engineering of genes and also a technologies cell and tissue culture. The basic
idea surrounds a wide range of steps (and history) for changing living organisms according to human
purposes such as going back to the cultivation of animals, plants, and advancements to these through
programs that breed and that employ synthetic selection . When comparing biotechnology,
bioengineering is basically thought of as a field that has a lot of similarities especially with its
emphasis for using living things.

Implementation And Reporting For Hedge Accounting Essay
Research Memorandum
To: CEO, Thomas Foods
From:
Date: December 12, 2015
RE: Implementation and Reporting for Hedge Accounting
Facts:
Thomas Foods wishes to insulate the company from the financial blow of large increases in the prices
of produce from local farmers. The main factor that would cause this unexpected change in price that
Thomas Foods should be concerned with is the possible fluctuation of weather conditions. Thomas
Foods is interested in determining whether or not hedge accounting would be the best solution to
protect the company s operating income. If the company elects to implement a hedge accounting
system, the Controller of the company must be informed of the accounting treatments involved when
dealing with cash flow and fair value hedge accounting, the two most common forms of hedge
accounting.
Issues:
1. Will implementing a hedging strategy help to alleviate the risks of price increases and benefit
Thomas Foods financially when it comes to purchasing produce from local farmers?
2. Which hedge accounting strategy or alternative method will be most beneficial to Thomas Foods
and ensure minimal loss in operating income?
3. How can the accounting treatments of the newly implemented strategy be best explained to the
Controller of Thomas Foods?
Conclusions:
1. Hedge accounting strategies are best implemented when dealing with transactions from the original
source. In this particular situation, the local farmer would be considered the original source because he

Essay on Who Can Stop Credit Card Abuse
Credit cards have become such a familiar feature of the life style in the world that it is difficult to
imagine a consumer economy functioning without them. The credit cards are nowadays the most
convenient of all types of payments. The boom of the credit card industry has affected everyone in the
world of the quot;plastic money quot;. That was the name given to the credit card right after it was
invented. Nowadays, the quot;plastic money quot; occupies a very important place in the economy of
the country. quot;Settlements indicates that the number of credit cards in circulation increased 34

They could be used only on a very low level. quot; The use of credit cards by retailers began in 1914
quot; (Lewis, 1990). Since that date there was an inconceivable growth of credit card production. Prior
to World War I, few hotels, oil companies and department stores issued credit cards. Then in 1931 the
airline companies introduced the credit cards in their business (Lewis, 1990). The evolution and the
expansion of the card went lide the speed of light. The most important step was the introduction of the
credit card to the Internet in the 90 s. Today, Web servers enable payments by credit card. A credit card
transaction over the Internet is one of the most common types of payment. If a merchant has an
account with a merchant bank that offers Internet credit card processing, he would be able to accept
credit card payment over the Internet (http://search.netscape.com). quot; There was an increase of $78
billion over 1994, in just one short year. We ve been tracking it since 1980, and we ve never seen that
kind of increase before. quot; (Glenn, 1984, pp.857 68).
What are the reasons that explain the fast increase of the use of the credit cards? As one reason that
might explain the phenomenon, some people may think that carrying a credit card is much easier than
having cash or a checkbook in their wallets or purses. There is no doubt that the quot;plastic money
quot; doesn t bother in a wallet or a purse because of its tiny size.
Another reason that

Structural Inequality Of The New Zealand
Introduction:
The presence of child poverty in New Zealand has been a long standing issue since before the 1990 s
and continues to be prevalent in today s New Zealand. Although child poverty can be linked to
multiple causes, there is one major cause that is not widely discussed enough within the political
world of New Zealand. This is the issue of structural inequality creating an unjust welfare system
which perpetuates stereotypes and damages the support that beneficiaries are provided by our
government. This, in turn, causes a stressful living situation for benefit dependent families, and creates
an environment that is more susceptible to child poverty. With sufficient evidence, I will explain how
structural inequality is linked to child poverty, and show what our government s response has been to
both of these issues.
Structural Inequality in Modern Day New Zealand:
New Zealand is seen as a pure, untarnished country from a distant perspective but, there are a huge
number of families in New Zealand that are struggling to get by with barely any help from the
government. This is the outcome of many decades of structural inequality that has impacted
generations of children that turn to the same life as their parents, creating a cycle of poverty. Structural
inequality can be loosely described as denot[ing] methodical and often subtle processes through which
social structures disadvantage and harm certain groups of people (Hodgetts,2014). The under class

The Profit Price Based Organizations
Profit Profit price based organizations are based around two main ideas one is target return and the
other is maximizing profit (From the expert: Price objectives or orientation. (n.d.). Maximizing profit
is a challenging aspect in business because the company needs to find a price point at which customers
are happy, while also maximizing returns and profit. The company that comes to mind is Reliance
Steel and Aluminum Co. Reliance is the largest metal service center in the world and now is over a 10
billion dollar fortune 500 company. Reliance sells steel B2B on a daily basis with the intention of
maximizing profits. The pricing strategy of discounting and allowances for steel really depends on the
market and the value of steel in the US and around the world. Reliance has to have a very fluid pricing
strategy in place to make adjustments depending on the currently volatile steel market. There are
certain customers that have loyalty to the Reliance name and then there are others that shop solely
based on price and the lowest cost available. Reliance prices their steel based on each individual
account and the reason for that is to maximize profit and return.

Explain Why Stores Should Not Be Open On Thanksgiving

A Summary OfI Wandered Lonely As A Cloud
Lost. What a standard term. One that is often associated with a child wandering off in a grocery store,
or somebody taking the wrong turn and not arriving at the correct destination. But the trouble is that it
is hardly ever associated with anything deeper, such as the human soul. Yet the reality is, everybody s
soul is indeed a little bit lost. And if not lost, at least diverted to a path of pure monotony that drives
them to forget the importance of the little things in life. An example of this concept is the poem I
Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by William Wordsworth. At the beginning of the poem, the speaker is
wandering through life without purpose. He is simply living a life that he no longer feels any form of
connection towards. But then he comes across a field of dancing daffodils and his perspective changes
entirely to one of pure joy and ease with his life. Through his application of simile, symbolism, and
personification, in his work, the speaker makes his poem far more meaningful. The use of these
devices helps to shape the poem s central idea, that is when one stops roaming aimlessly through
everyday life and pays attention, they can discover the true beauties that are present in the world and
learn to appreciate them a little bit more.
One of the main figurative language elements that the speaker uses within his poem is a simile. The
title of the poem itself, as well as the first line are repeating similes. The speaker uses this component
in the lines I wandered

There are two different types of thermal energy used, passive and active form. Passive solar heating
does not require any equipments because the heat because it enters the building independently. On the
other hand, active solar heating needs a medium to absorb and store solar radiation. One example of
an active solar heating is energy storage system. Other than that, solar thermal power plant indirectly
produces electric power when heat of the solar collected is used to heat a fluid; this method could
transfer a system to produce steam. Solar thermal energy works almost the same as creating energy
but actually it is by converting energy using the sun s radiation.
Besides passive and active benefits of using solar energy, it also has less damage and fewer side
effects to the environment since it does not produce any pollution. However, there are costs in terms of
producing solar cells. Many scientists aware of the negative impacts that photovoltaic cells production
has, it is because toxic metal such as mercury, lead, and cadmium are used during the process of
manufacturing solar cell. It definitely increases the issue of global warming. However we all know
that all good things must have a trade off, where in this case the amount of good that we receive is
more than the cost that we produce. Thus it is a good thing for the society.

Prednisolone Is Chemically Known As A Corticosteroid
Prednisolone is chemically known as a corticosteroid which is a steroid hormones (DIAAIC). The
corticosteroids are produced in the adrenal cortex and come in two forms; glucocorticoids and
mineralocorticoids. The two forms differ in that glucocorticoids act as anti inflammatory steroids and
as a metabolising agent. The mineralocorticoids however, work to maintain a balance between the
water and salt levels in the body. Prednisolone is used to treat inflammatory diseases and is therefore
known as a synthetic glucocorticosteroid . Steroids work by reducing swelling and inflammation

In the pharmacokinetics aspect, prednisolone is mainly dependent on two characteristics; dosage and
age. Based on how the drug is bound in the plasma, the distribution of the drug can be determined. A
high dosage of prednisolone leads to an increase in the volume of distributed drug. This is due to the
non linear binding of the drug. It is recommended for patients with other disorders to lower their
dosage intake of prednisolone (LinkSpringer). The half life of prednisolone differs in accordance to
age; the half life in children being the shortest. A common issue with patients who take prednisolone
drugs is that the levels of serum binding proteins are low in the patients blood. This is known as
hypoalbuminaemia. The serum binding proteins are important in that they allow the drug to bind for it
to take effect. If a patient were to take oral contraceptives whilst on the prednisolone drugs, it would
decrease the half life and the volume of drug distributed. This would be as a result of high levels of
corticosteroids (LinkSpringer).
Side Effects and counselling
When a patient is prescribed with prednisolone, they must ensure that the prescriber is aware of any
other medications the patient may be taking and of other health issues, if any. This is because different

Crime Statistics In Rural Communities
Although many people seem to believe that rural communities and populations are without crime, this
is a misconception that effects the way in which policing takes place. Crime statistics in local
communities do not put emphasis on the happenings in rural communities. This leads to shortages in
specialty crime units that could be useful in rural areas, though difficult to supply because of low
usage. The resources, such as funding, that could be allocated to rural areas is then provided to other
departments that benefit locals. This could lead to shortage of officers in rural communities, which
causes strain on officers from higher shift loads. For a local police officer, work slates can be divided

This type of policing is reactive where police officers patrol communities looking for crimes that have
or are occurring. This style of policing allows for all suspects to be treated the same regardless of
criminogenic factors. This type of policing leads to higher arrests and can be used as a deterrent due to
high numbers of people talking about the police catching their crimes. This type of policing is
effective when focusing on tackling a specific crime that is causing great numbers of harm to societies
as seen with initiatives on gun violence, drinking and driving or drug trafficking. This type of policing
limits corruption, which can be seen in policing approaches where close community interactions can
lead to bias an unfair treatment. However, traditional policing is not without drawbacks. This type of
policing leaves no room for discretion leading to us viruses them mentality from not only the general
population but the officers as well. The police officers will no longer see themselves as apart of the
community but above the community they are apart of. Reactive policing does not address issues of
the community problems; it only creates a temporary superficial solution to greater problems.
Community policing works with the public to police as well as prevent crimes, which is not seen in
traditional policing. Although community policing seems idea, there should be a policing approach

Colan was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2005. He passed away in 2011.
Gene Colan s mark making is exceptional. The strokes of the pencil and hatching are used to
communicate form and structure to the figures and elements in his drawings. Solid black would
immensely flatten the images, but the quick hatch work brings energy and life to the characters.
This portrait of a vampire character is a good example of the hatching to create form. The vampire s
hair is swept back away from his face. The marks show this form. The eye brows are ... Show more

The mark making in the man in the last panel align with the contours of his head and face, bringing
form to his features and facial structure. Similar pencil strokes are scene in the crowd, but are less
pronounced when compared to the man in his own panel.
The buildings are successful in the sense of pattern, but are not correct in terms of perspective.
Overall, this page has nice mark making, but lacks in readability.
The black placement in the page brings attention to the areas framed by light. The figures are the focal
point in both panels.
In the first panel, the black placement weights the bed as it recedes into the floor, but then is balanced
out by the cast shadow of the wall in the top left corner. The second panel has a similar effect from the
bed black placement. However, the face on the poster on the wall is staring right at the viewer, and he
becomes the focal point of the room instead of the figures in the bed.
The hatch direction gives form to all the surfaces of the room. The bed covers specifically benefit
from the directional hatching in the folds. The forms also benefit from the directionality.
The artist has left plenty of room for world bubbles and any other text.
The overview of the down shot successfully establishes the anchor points of the room before moving
to a close up on the characters in the bed.
The perspective n the image is misleading, as the back of the bed seems to be

  • 2. Dreaming Research Papers Humans spend about one third of their lives asleep, and research says that a quarter of our time asleep is filled with dreams. Dreaming is very mysterious matter, and while many theories have been made, scientists still do not know why we dream when we are asleep. However, it is important to remember that scientists are still uncovering the function of sleep itself. The study of dreaming still has a long way to go, but hopefully one day, we will uncover the mystery of dreaming. So what are dreams exactly? Dreams are a universal human experience that can be described as a state of consciousness characterized by sensory, cognitive and emotional occurrences during sleep. The dreamer has reduced control over the content, visual images ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ernest Hartmann, author of The Nightmare and Dreams and Nightmares has performed one of the most extensive studies of frequent nightmares. Hartmann states that the dream, notably the central image (CI), pictures the emotion of the dreamer and that the intensity of the central image is a measure of the strength of the emotion. This might be seen in nightmares when there is a single powerful emotion following a traumatic event. Nightmares are often caused by a traumatic event. Trauma caused nightmares are often a repetitive repeat of actual experiences that the dreamer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Social Media And Social Networking Essay If asked, would you be able to explain what the definition of social media is? Social media is the noun used to define websites that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. Now you may wonder, what is the difference in social media and social networking? Social networking is the practice of expanding the number of one s business and/or social contacts by making connections through individuals, often through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram. (cite) | Statistics show that most children get introduced to cyberbullying when they fully understand how to use the internet. The majority of children have admitted to harassing or being bullied on a social media website from the age nine to eighteen. The gender of the child also makes a difference according to some poles taken. Girls are more likely to spread rumors through the virtual world, whereas; boys are more expected to comment and post antagonizing pictures and videos. (good and interesting information to have but the transition from different social media sites to the bullying paragraph is rapid and just thrown in there) Crazy to think but the birth of social media was in 1997. The first social media site that everyone can agree actually was social media was a website called Six Degrees. It was named after the six degrees of separation theory and lasted from 1997 to 2001. Six degrees allowed users to create a profile and then friend other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The way a learner could use concept map to learn the material about African Kingdoms and Trading States is to create a diagram of Sunni Ali as a leader and the predecessor Askia Muhammad and how Morocco soldiers had won due to guns, technology, and cannons. The student can also create a map as shown in the map study, to determine the trading states by using creating his own map and legend. After using the concept map as a strategy a student could facilitate effective storage by understanding the concept map rather than memorizing. In conclusion I believe that mnemonic and utilizing concept map is an effective way of storage and retrieval but this may not be an effective strategy for everyone. Coach Boon (Denzel Washington) who came from North Carolina was put as a head coach by the school board which made the former coach and the white player unhappy because of his skin color. Written and published 1886, this novella reflects on the individual, and societal behavior during the Victorian era. During the Victorian era people, were supposed to behave like a normal person. Certain behaviors were highly restricted for example, showing evil. Instead, they were expected to give respect for everyone. People who acted out against the norm during this period were usually sent to asylums because such behaviors were unacceptable. People in this society did just that, they behaved as if they were perfectly normal. This does not mean that their bad side did not exist. Instead, they hid their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Having a career in science and medicine was a big deal during this time. Dr. Jekyll is an educated, wealthy, and well respected man. Through the eyes of the public, he is seen as a perfect, ideal Victorian man. He is a large, well made, smooth faced man of fifty, with something of a slyish cast perhaps, but every mark of capacity and kindness (31). Because of his status in society, Dr. Jekyll is obligated to hide his pleasures and show the society his caring, affectionate, and loyal virtues. Dr. Jekyll is benevolent and pleasant in his social interactions. He attempts to cover up his darker self by creating a courteous public persona. Everyone has a different persona when they are outside in the eyes of the public and when they are inside. Through Mr. Hyde, Dr. Jekyll reveals his destructive side. Transforming into Mr. Hyde gives Dr. Jekyll a freedom to act and behave without caring about the public s opinion or about the consequences of his actions. Dr. Jekyll is captured and locked up deep inside, he appears reasonably appropriate on the exterior but his inner reflections drives him towards immorality. As Dr. Jekyll privately turns into Mr. Hyde, not only is his appearance transformed, but also his behavior. This can be a similar caparison on people in today s society. Brown targeted many audiences in this novel but there is one in particular that not only had an impact on people then, but can still captivate many in today s society. That specific group involves people who are fighting an incurable illness, such as the Yellow Fever, as described in the book. Although it was written in the late 1700 s, people in the twenty first century can still relate to the characters in the book, and understand what they were feeling at that time. I felt as if I inhaled a poisonous and subtle fluid...some fatal influence seemed to seize upon my vitals; and the work of corrosion and decomposition to be busily begun (144). People often times make assumptions about things when they don t really know what is going on. This is still the case in today s time, when people assume the cause is one thing when it could be something completely different. Mervyn seemed to know at this point that he was destined to die. Most of the fever victims had no hopes of living once they contracted the illness. He later found sanctuary in the home of Welbeck, in hopes of breathing his last there, stating, All I sought was the privilege of dying alone (182). The Yellow Fever is no different than many incurable diseases that we are fighting in today s society, such as AIDS, Hepatitis A B, Herpes, certain Cancers, Ebola and the Killer Flu. When a person contacts some incurable disease, they must learn to live the rest of their lives with it, no matter how long that may be. The European leader that I have chosen to prove what advice Machiavelli gave in The Prince is relevant and what is not, is Edward Heath. Some of Edwards work relates to the advice given by Machiavelli while many of it is the pure opposite of Machiavelli s advice. Edward Heath was prime Minister for the Conservative Party from June 1970 through March 1975. While he was in ruling, in 1972 unemployment began to rise considerably in Europe. In order to to help this crisis and reduce the amount of unemployment Heath inflated the economy which eventually made everything worse. A method of detecting drowsiness in drivers developed by using a camera that points directly towards the driver face and capture for the video. As a detection method, the system uses image processing technology using MATLAB to analysis images of the driver face taken with the help of video camera. The captured video is done, it is converted into numbers of frame of face and monitoring of the face region and eyes in order to detect drowsiness. The system is able to monitoring eyes and determine whether the eyes are in an open or closed. This detection system provides a non contact technique for judging various level of alertness and facilitates early detection of a decline in alertness during driving. The Pros And Consequences Of The Cultural Revolution In 1921, the Chinese Communist party arose, bringing about the ideologies of Karl Marx, along with the removal of class exploitation and oppression. Mao s Ideological crusade, the Cultural Revolution in 1966, was designed to jolt China back toward mass mobilization, and utopian idealism. The Cultural Revolution was, a revolution for the Communist party as it was their goal to eliminate counterrevolutionary ideology and eliminate all right wing influence. However, Mao s ideas of riding China of capitalistic influences with violence and retaining power by manipulation was out of tune with the ideas of the CCP because it ultimately led to a breakdown in culture, technology, and human resources through decentralization and manipulation. The Chinese Communist party emphasized the strategy of mass mobilization to improve industrial production and agriculture. After a time of poverty and famine, Comrade Mao Zedong set out to gain support in order to eradicate capitalistic influences. Mao said, In order to overthrow a political power, it is always necessary to first of all, create public opinion, to do ideological work. (Sixteen Point decision pg. 129). Mao used public opinion to sway the revolution into unstable equilibrium. Imbalances of Ca2+supply during high photoperiod renders the plant vulnerable to Ca2+ deficiency disorders. Shading reduced the incidence of BER in tomato possibly by cut off of high light intensities which promoted BER through accelerated fruit growth (Ho and White 2005a). Higher fruit growth rate renders fruit to BER susceptibility through diluting fruit Ca2+ (Bertin et al. 2000; DeKock, Inkson, and Hall 1982; Wui and Takano 1995). High light may reduce RH that causes the fruits susceptible to Ca2+ related disorders (Adams and Ho 1993). Shading may delay the incidence of BER by reducing its appearance. Irrigation Maintaining of optimum soil moisture levels neither too dry nor too wet can ensure consistent movement of Ca from soil to plant which might be helpful to reduce incidence of Ca2+ deficiency disorders in plants. Tomato BER was increased with dryness of substrate (Adams and Holder 1992) though high soil moisture levels (20 kPa tension) showed rapid incidence of tip burn than low moisture (200 kPa tension) in lettuce (Bert and Honma 1975). Fennel tip burn was decreased with irrigation (van Wijk and van den Broek 1997) level. Temporary drought can cause severe tip burn in vegetables (Saure 1998). Methods of irrigation also influence incidence of Ca2+ deficiency disorders. Sprinkler irrigation effectively reduced tip burn of lettuce leaf through increasing Ca supply(Jiande, Wenqiang, and Mingshan 2006; Obispo 1997). Irrigation reduced tip burn by 23% compared to control (no irrigation, rain only) (Cox and Dearman 1981). Structural Inequality Of The New Zealand Introduction: The presence of child poverty in New Zealand has been a long standing issue since before the 1990 s and continues to be prevalent in today s New Zealand. Although child poverty can be linked to multiple causes, there is one major cause that is not widely discussed enough within the political world of New Zealand. This is the issue of structural inequality creating an unjust welfare system which perpetuates stereotypes and damages the support that beneficiaries are provided by our government. This, in turn, causes a stressful living situation for benefit dependent families, and creates an environment that is more susceptible to child poverty. With sufficient evidence, I will explain how structural inequality is linked to child poverty, and show what our government s response has been to both of these issues. Structural Inequality in Modern Day New Zealand: New Zealand is seen as a pure, untarnished country from a distant perspective but, there are a huge number of families in New Zealand that are struggling to get by with barely any help from the government. This is the outcome of many decades of structural inequality that has impacted generations of children that turn to the same life as their parents, creating a cycle of poverty. Structural inequality can be loosely described as denot[ing] methodical and often subtle processes through which social structures disadvantage and harm certain groups of people (Hodgetts,2014). The Harlem Renaissance was a blossoming of African American culture, particularly in the creative arts, and the most influential movement in African American literary history during the early twentieth century (Hutchinson). During this time, blacks were on a journey of self discovery, remaking their collective image to define the New Negro. Black female writers of this time, such as Zora Neale Hurston, wrote about the everyday reality and struggles that average black women endured and conquered in order to move away from Old Negro ideas. Before Janie leaves with her new husband Janie s long legs dangled over one arm of the chair and the long braids of her hair swung low on the other side (Hurston 18). Usually, braided hair is associated with young school aged girls. The braided hair in this scene symbolizes the braids of a child in order to further evoke sadness and oppression of this arranged marriage. Janie has no power and no choice but to marry the older man her Grandmother chose. • 35. A Summary OfI Wandered Lonely As A Cloud Lost. What a standard term. One that is often associated with a child wandering off in a grocery store, or somebody taking the wrong turn and not arriving at the correct destination. But the trouble is that it is hardly ever associated with anything deeper, such as the human soul. Yet the reality is, everybody s soul is indeed a little bit lost. And if not lost, at least diverted to a path of pure monotony that drives them to forget the importance of the little things in life. An example of this concept is the poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by William Wordsworth. At the beginning of the poem, the speaker is wandering through life without purpose. He is simply living a life that he no longer feels any form of connection towards. But then he comes across a field of dancing daffodils and his perspective changes entirely to one of pure joy and ease with his life. Through his application of simile, symbolism, and personification, in his work, the speaker makes his poem far more meaningful. The use of these devices helps to shape the poem s central idea, that is when one stops roaming aimlessly through everyday life and pays attention, they can discover the true beauties that are present in the world and learn to appreciate them a little bit more. One of the main figurative language elements that the speaker uses within his poem is a simile. The title of the poem itself, as well as the first line are repeating similes. The speaker uses this component in the lines I wandered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It takes millions of years for the Fossil Fuel to actually develop and ready to be used, and the main concern of Fossil Fuel is that it cannot be consumed over and over again or reused. Through this analysis it can be assumed that because it takes millions of years for the fossil fuel to develop, and we came up with two assumptions that would lead the innovation of producing energy using different resources. There are two different types of thermal energy used, passive and active form. Passive solar heating does not require any equipments because the heat because it enters the building independently. On the other hand, active solar heating needs a medium to absorb and store solar radiation. One example of an active solar heating is energy storage system. Other than that, solar thermal power plant indirectly produces electric power when heat of the solar collected is used to heat a fluid; this method could transfer a system to produce steam. Solar thermal energy works almost the same as creating energy but actually it is by converting energy using the sun s radiation. Besides passive and active benefits of using solar energy, it also has less damage and fewer side effects to the environment since it does not produce any pollution. However, there are costs in terms of producing solar cells. Many scientists aware of the negative impacts that photovoltaic cells production has, it is because toxic metal such as mercury, lead, and cadmium are used during the process of manufacturing solar cell. It definitely increases the issue of global warming. However we all know that all good things must have a trade off, where in this case the amount of good that we receive is more than the cost that we produce. Thus it is a good thing for the society. • 39. Prednisolone Is Chemically Known As A Corticosteroid Prednisolone is chemically known as a corticosteroid which is a steroid hormones (DIAAIC). The corticosteroids are produced in the adrenal cortex and come in two forms; glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids. The two forms differ in that glucocorticoids act as anti inflammatory steroids and as a metabolising agent. The mineralocorticoids however, work to maintain a balance between the water and salt levels in the body. Prednisolone is used to treat inflammatory diseases and is therefore known as a synthetic glucocorticosteroid . Steroids work by reducing swelling and inflammation (DIAAIC). Pharmacology The corticosteroids work by supervising the rate at which the proteins are synthesised. This happens through the reaction of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the pharmacokinetics aspect, prednisolone is mainly dependent on two characteristics; dosage and age. Based on how the drug is bound in the plasma, the distribution of the drug can be determined. A high dosage of prednisolone leads to an increase in the volume of distributed drug. This is due to the non linear binding of the drug. It is recommended for patients with other disorders to lower their dosage intake of prednisolone (LinkSpringer). The half life of prednisolone differs in accordance to age; the half life in children being the shortest. A common issue with patients who take prednisolone drugs is that the levels of serum binding proteins are low in the patients blood. This is known as hypoalbuminaemia. The serum binding proteins are important in that they allow the drug to bind for it to take effect. If a patient were to take oral contraceptives whilst on the prednisolone drugs, it would decrease the half life and the volume of drug distributed. This would be as a result of high levels of corticosteroids (LinkSpringer). Side Effects and counselling When a patient is prescribed with prednisolone, they must ensure that the prescriber is aware of any other medications the patient may be taking and of other health issues, if any. This is because different drugs work in different ways and so to ensure the prednisolone works effectively, the patient ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Crime Statistics In Rural Communities Although many people seem to believe that rural communities and populations are without crime, this is a misconception that effects the way in which policing takes place. Crime statistics in local communities do not put emphasis on the happenings in rural communities. This leads to shortages in specialty crime units that could be useful in rural areas, though difficult to supply because of low usage. The resources, such as funding, that could be allocated to rural areas is then provided to other departments that benefit locals. This could lead to shortage of officers in rural communities, which causes strain on officers from higher shift loads. This type of policing is reactive where police officers patrol communities looking for crimes that have or are occurring. This style of policing allows for all suspects to be treated the same regardless of criminogenic factors. This type of policing leads to higher arrests and can be used as a deterrent due to high numbers of people talking about the police catching their crimes. This type of policing is effective when focusing on tackling a specific crime that is causing great numbers of harm to societies as seen with initiatives on gun violence, drinking and driving or drug trafficking. This type of policing limits corruption, which can be seen in policing approaches where close community interactions can lead to bias an unfair treatment. However, traditional policing is not without drawbacks. This type of policing leaves no room for discretion leading to us viruses them mentality from not only the general population but the officers as well. • 42. Gene Col An American Comic Book Artist Gene Colan was an American comic book artist best known for his work for Marvel. He is best known for his work on 1964 Daredevil, Howard the Duck, and The Tomb of Dracula. Colan was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2005. He passed away in 2011. Gene Colan s mark making is exceptional. The strokes of the pencil and hatching are used to communicate form and structure to the figures and elements in his drawings. Similar pencil strokes are scene in the crowd, but are less pronounced when compared to the man in his own panel. The buildings are successful in the sense of pattern, but are not correct in terms of perspective. Overall, this page has nice mark making, but lacks in readability. The black placement in the page brings attention to the areas framed by light. The figures are the focal point in both panels. In the first panel, the black placement weights the bed as it recedes into the floor, but then is balanced out by the cast shadow of the wall in the top left corner. The second panel has a similar effect from the bed black placement. However, the face on the poster on the wall is staring right at the viewer, and he becomes the focal point of the room instead of the figures in the bed. The hatch direction gives form to all the surfaces of the room. The bed covers specifically benefit from the directional hatching in the folds. The forms also benefit from the directionality. The artist has left plenty of room for world bubbles and any other text.
