Healthcare Organization Emergency Room over Utilization
Emergency room over utilization is one of the leading causes of today s ever increasing healthcare
costs. The majority of the patients seen in emergency rooms across the nation are Medicaid recipients,
for non emergent reasons. The federal government initiated Medicaid Managed Care programs to offer
better healthcare delivery, adequately compensate providers and reduce healthcare costs. Has
Medicaid Managed Care addressed the issues and solved the problem? The answer is Yes and No .
Throughout the early 1980 s and 1990 s the Federal Medicaid program was challenged by rapidly
rising Medicaid program costs and an increasing number of uninsured population. One of the primary
reasons for the overall increase in healthcare costs is the over ... Show more content on

As enrollment increased emergency room over utilization for non emergent reasons decreased. The
new Medicaid Managed Care population was being educated on the Gate Keeper concept; the idea of
having a primary care physician. A large primary care pediatric practice launched an Emergency
Room diversion pilot program and conducted a study of Medicaid recipients, 18 years and younger .
(2) 17,382 children were enrolled in an enhanced access group (intervention group) and 26,066
received services from other local primary care providers (control group). (2) The twelve month study
results showed that the average per member per month cost of emergency room utilization of the
intervention group was $1.36 less than the controlled group. There was no significant difference in
terms of per visit cost related to emergency room usage. Although the overall cost of healthcare
delivery has not increased the enrollment in traditional Medicaid fee for service product has increased
and surpassed Medicaid managed care enrollment in the past six years. This recent change in the
market place is of particular concern. The idea of losing what has been gained such as, guaranteed
access to providers, improved care management attributed to primary care provider healthcare
delivery and the ability to monitor insurance carrier performance motivated State Medicaid agencies
to devise a response on how to handle this current issue. Because managed care has delivered a value

Animal Abuse In Animal Farm
The addiction drug of power can be good and controlled in small doses, but given to one person all at
once and without limits can lead to overdose, which is harmful not only to the people within the
society, but to the leader as well. In the intriguing, satirical novella, Animal Farm, by George Orwell,
the leadership of a revolution turns from it s all about the people, to a dystopian Stalinist society where
power is controlled under one person and one person only, usually with the help of a strong military
force. During the overthrow of the farm, led by Napoleon, their new society slowly turns into a funnel
to feed his greed for power. With little to eat and hard working hours, the animals on the farm are
having a hard time living with their caretaker, Mr. Jones, a repulsive man who does not feed or even
care for his animal s well being. It s sort of like a torture situation or slavery because they animals are
not getting their fair share of food and resources for working so hard. As the for the dog, when they
grow old and toothless, Jones ties a brick round their necks and drowns them in the nearest pond
(Orwell 9). Jones actions can be directly related to those of the last Russian Tsar, Tsar Nicholas II
during the uprising of communism in Russia and when all of his people in Russia were not getting fed
and getting worked to death, but still somehow surviving. The animals in the farm are being terrible
taken care of and treated just like the citizens of Russia under

Corn Essay
Corn America
The demand for corn has greatly increased because of its many new found uses but mainly because it
has been discovered that corn can be use as an alternate energy source. This great demand for corn has
increased many area of farming and production of corn here and other countries such as Mexico and
South America. This great demand has lead to an increase in farmers who are willing to cash in on
these cash crops and try to earn a few quick dollars because of the great demand for it. In 2007 Corn

This would create and elastic effect on the corn market because the huge demand for corn oil will
remain the same but with the discovery corn for energy it has made it a hot commodity and very
profitable amongst farmers therefore corn oil would take a back seat for now until other resources can
be used to produce energy. These farmers are going to slow down their productions of corn for corn
oil and increase the production of corn for energy because it is the more profitable thing to do and its
makes perfect business sense. Now the demand for the corn oil remains the same, but the productions
for it has slowed greatly if not stopped, this means that farmers and corn producers will need to raise
the price of corn for corn products so they will be able to stay on the market longer and have a longer
shelf life until another year or harvest comes around.

Informative Essay On Chris Evert
Chris Evert Hook: My blood was racing and my heart was pounding, I was at the championship

on December 21st, 1954, in Florida. I had four siblings, three brothers and one sister. At age five, my
father drilled me into practicing tennis day and night. In 1969, I became the world s number one under

North Carolina. I became a professional tennis player along with my sister, Jeanne Evert. Thesis

Many of my opponents, including Navratilova were very close and tough matches for me to win.

Latinx Feminist Theory
The term feminism encapsulates a vast variety of topics important to women s rights. Unfortunately,
feminist theory is often talked about within the restrictions of a reproductive binary. Latinx feminist
theory is more than just a reproduction binary. As women of color, Latinx women have historically
been undermined and excluded from social narratives. Latinx women however, challenge various
forms of oppression, such as the perpetuations of sexism, racism, and violence, by sharing their
testimonios to the world a vulnerable yet incredibly strong form of resistance. This specialized theory
addresses many of the barriers that intersect and impact Latinx women on a daily and generational
basis. Evident in my resistance poem, through the use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I demonstrate the importance of allywork to the Latinx feminist theory in stanza six by which I call for
readers to help Liberate not only women, but anyone oppressed. Despite the differences of our
experiences, Latinx feminist theory believes that our differences should serve as an incentive to
establish solidarity towards justice, not another borderland to cross. Similar to the reproductive justice
theory s utilization of the Ubuntu philosophy, the belief in the universal bond of sharing that connects
all humanity (201 RJT) Latinx feminist theory embraces unity as a direct path to the realization of the

Essay about Legitimacy of the Canadian Intervention in Libya
The Libyan Revolution of 2011 initiated with nonviolent political protests modeled after the events in
Tunisia and Egypt, and quickly escalated to a full fledge civil war. Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar
Gaddafi obtained the role of the official ruler of Libya in 1969 by a bloodless coup d etat against King
Idris. Gaddafi remained the official ruler of Libya from 1969 until 1977. (Calvocoressi, 2001)
Subsequent to 1977, he referred to himself as a symbolic figurehead until the revolt in 2011, which
contributed to his death. Gaddafi was the longest serving Arab leader and commonly referred to
himself as the King of Kings. Gaddafi s reign over civilians was mostly based on fear. The Libyan

Identifying The Unknown Bacteria From A Mixed Culture
Identification of Enterobacter Aerogenes

Unknown #19
The purpose of this study is to identify an unknown bacterium from a mixed culture. We identified the
unknown bacteria through different biochemical tests and identified the many metabolic capabilities of
the bacteria. Studying and discovering unknown bacteria is very important in the health field as it may
lead to new medicines and innovations for current, existing diseases as well as any upcoming diseases.
The discovery of unknown bacteria is very useful in the pharmaceutical industry, as most of the
products prepared are made based on these unknown organisms.
The biochemical tests used to identify the unknown bacteria included: phenol red broth test (glucose,
lactose, and sucrose), methyl red and Voges Proskauer test, citrate test, indole test, H2S production
test, urea test and motility test. The PR broths are used to differentiate members of Enterobacteriaceae
and to distinguish these members from other gram negative rods. The PR broths are useful in
determining a bacterium s fermentation abilities. If the bacterium is able to utilize the carbohydrate,
then the acid production from fermentation lowers pH, which in turn turns the broth yellow. However,
if the bacterium is unable to utilize the carbohydrate, but does utilize the peptone, which produces the
by product ammonia, the medium will have a rise in pH turning the broth pink.
The methyl red and Voges Proskauer tests

Global Warming Historical Perspective
A Historical Perspective of Global Warming
Global warming is a problem that has just recently come to the forefront of world affairs. Within the
last fifteen to twenty years, we have known that this problem was not only possible, but likely; but
nothing has really gotten done. The origin of global warming is often disputed, and is being debated
all over the world today. Whatever the cause may be, historians believe this is a problem at least 100
years in the making. Since the Industrial Revolution, we have been on a fast track to pollute Earth to a
way of life altering extent. We are only beginning to see the results of that today. Most scientists base
their research on proxy data; ancient sources such as carvings, and ... Show more content on

Experts are able to make this claim because, the record of the last thousand years seems to have
included a notably wide range of climactic regimes. (Lamb, 301) There is no hard statistical data
pertaining to the Earth s temperature s over the last thousand years, but based on the history that we
have, the high middle ages saw a persistently warm climate epoch, which lasted until about 1310. The
following centuries brought a series of changes, some of them abrupt, leading to the so called Little
Ice Age between 1550 1700 or later. (Lamb 301) Lamb, along with many other experts, take this as
hard evidence that temperature change is normal and natural, and there is no reason for us to think
today s case is any different.
As hot of a topic that global warming is today, not too long ago it was completely disregarded as
anything we needed to pay attention to. It was found that, Around 1880 1890 it was apparent that the
climactic averages of that time were very similar to those of a century earlier, and it became
conventional to treat climate as essentially a constant. Accordingly, study of the development and
possible changes of climate were given a very low priority or more generally neglected altogether.
(Lamb, 292) The consistency within the pre industrial revolution weather patterns provides clarity as
to why this problem hadn t been addressed much in modern times, or even given a second thought.

How Did You Call The Period Between 1860 And 1877 Nothing...
As the Civil War ended, conflict, that was much less violent, arose. The matter of putting the country
back together laid heavily upon the shoulders of the government. Questions of rights to power
emanated. Discrimination grew steadily more powerful. This period of time was not as radical as
events such as the Revolutionary War that began the country, but the many parallels to it brought it
awfully close. Through questioning of the central and state government power levels, heavy
constitutional observation and interpretation, and morality based decision making, it is fair to call the
period between 1860 and 1877 nothing short of revolutionary.
The Revolutionary War was as its title states; revolutionary. The people of the colonies were
disconsolate with the power that Great Britain was exhibiting over them. Similarly, the South was
unhappy with the central governments right to declare the way they discriminated against the black
peoples unlawful. In South Carolina s Declaration of Causes of Secession, they directly stated that the
exercise of certain of their powers was restrained, which necessarily imperiled their continued
existence as sovereign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Social Identity Essay On Fishing
As a female college student, I have many identities. Some identities change, others don t, but either
way, they all have something in common they are each known as our social identity. One person can
have many social identities, just and many people can share a social identity. This phenomenon often
creates a common ground between people who may seem completely different. Social identities can
be anything for a lover of a certain type of music, sport, activity, or even just where these people are

I know this may sound harsh if you are not a hunter, but to hunters, it is more than just killing an
animal. It is retelling the stories of our ancestors, and providing us with the food God has provided for
us. When looking at types of hunting that take place, there are many different forms. The most popular
of which are deer hunting, squirrel hunting, turkey hunting, elk/moose hunting, and big game hunting.
Big game hunting is most often hunting done in other countries. Many times, it is found on the
continent of Africa, where people can big game hunt, where they hunt rhinos, elephants, lions, and
many other animals. Each type of hunting has certain people who love that type more than the others.
Often times, this itself is a big source of social identity within the realm of hunters. An important note
to make is how hunting is an ever decreasing part of our lives. An article talks about this decline and
mentions how From 1963 to 1967, the first years for which Alabama has data, an average of more than

Food Safety Act 1990:
The food safety acts are lay down rules that apply to everyone involved in a production, storage,
distribution or sales of foods.
Under the food safety act 1990 it is illegal to sell food unfit for human intake.
This act gives power to the health environment inspectors to inspect food and also seize food unfit for
the human intake and condemn it. Any establishment breaching food hygiene standards can be served
a notice for improvement, but in extreme conditions they can be closed down eternally, if the practices
are reflected to be a health hazard then their business can be act against for breaching hazards.
The food safety act states that people working with food must practice working with good food
hygiene in the workplace. Food for people who use services and for visitors must be safely stored and
prepared and also must not be injurious to health.
Local authority health inspectors enforce this law.
The food safety (General Food Hygiene) regulates 1995, 2005 and 2006 referring to the need of

White Supremacism In African Americans
Introduction
Who has the authority to tell anyone they re lesser than a white man? White supremacy is egregious,
and can hurt a whole race. Today the writer is going to write about white supremacy. It was the worst
thing to happen to America, and has consumed a great deal of our history. From Ancient Egypt to
today, 2016, white supremacists have prowled the earth. The height of popularity for this social
phenomenon was during the European colonial expansion, which was in the eighteen hundreds when
many countries started to adopt the idea. Many countries soon after, dropped the idea of slavery, but
then proceeded with racism in various ways. This paper will include discussion of segregation, slavery
and other things like hate groups.

The KKK had a run for their money when the Civil Rights Movement began. The KKK retaliated by
bombing a church, and murdering a child. Many white supremacists that join groups like these, grew

Nonrepresentational Art
In this image, created with anger, and calmed is creating two different atmospheres. Anger because
when in the beginning of the drawing, my little cousin was screaming while I was trying to focus on
creating a unique nonrepresentational image. This was in the living room, where I usually focus while

When looking at the image, it shows how the composition stands out with different creativity that has
been created out of anger and in a few spaces its calmed. The elements of design, I deliberately used
different types of line, shapes, and size. In this composition, it shows the types of lines such as

The Italian Renaissance And The Renaissance
The Italian Renaissance was an explosion of art, writing, and thought, that roughly lasted between
1300 to 1600. In this time each citizen, countrymen, or villager had and performed different jobs and
careers. Humanism the study of Greek and Roman writings, art, and architecture, initially jump started
the Renaissance, and the need for art. Artists now were inspired to use life like art and linear
perspective, so art seemed and was more realistic. The start of the Italian Renaissance was the start of
a new world and culture for Europe.

First, the Italian artists and scholars pulled inspiration from the Roman ruins that surrounded them.
Second, western scholars studied ancient Latin writings and manuscripts that over the years were
preserved in monasteries. Third, when the Turks conquered Constantinople in 1453, Christian scholars
fled with Greek manuscripts to Rome.
This new study of the ancient world led to humanism. Humanism was an intellectual movement that
focused on human achievements and potential. Humanists studied the classic texts to understand
ancient Greek values. The word humanist and humanism come from the Latin word humanitas, which
refers to the literary culture that every educated person should possess. Humanists study subjects
common to classical education; such as history, literature, and philosophy along with rhetoric. These
subjects are considered the Humanities. These classical traditions were passed on by humanists to
artists and architects.
The advantage that Italy had was the smaller city states. The smaller city states allowed more citizens
to be involved in politics besides the arts. Humanism suggested that a person can enjoy life without
offending God. The wealthy enjoyed good music, fine foods, and material luxuries. Now the spirit of
the Renaissance was secular meaning worldly. Italians were concerned with the here and now and
moved away from the church and pope. But along with the Italians the church leaders also lived in

An Effective Nurse Client Relationship Essay
The nurse client relationship is said to be a helping or therapeutic relationship in which the main focus
is to enhance the health and wellbeing of the patient. As stated by Harris,Nagy and Vardaxis (as cited
in Mosby s Dictionary,2008) A nurse client relationship can be defined as a therapeutic relationship
between a nurse and client built on a series of interactions and developing over time The relationship
is different from a social relationship in the way that it is only focused on the needs of the
client/patient.The relationship is goal oriented and has 3 phases which correspond to those of
Hildegard E.Peplau which are The Orientation Phase,Working Phase and The Termination Phase.
When discussing an effective nurse client relationship many factors are incorprated in the
establishment of this relationship among these factors are positve regard, trust and interpersonal skills.
People will forget what you say to them. They will never forget how you made them feel This direct
quote from Maya Angelou backs up the thesis that in order to establish an effective nurse client
relationship as a nurse you must display effective interpersonal skills.Interpersonal skills are vital life
skills and when used by nurses help display an ability to communicate and interact successfully with
patients/clients.

As far as marketers are concerned, there are few American companies with marketing campaigns that
rival those of Coca Cola and Pepsi. The longevity and prosperity of these two competitors is enough
to inspire countless business to model their own companies after these icons. This paper will detail
some of the business aspects that have helped Coke and Pepsi to thrive, as well as considering what
mistakes have been made in their pursuit of success. Learning from the successes and failures of other
companies can help a new business to know which roads of marketing, expansion, etc. to explore and
which might best be avoided. One might first consider Coca Cola, a company which has been

Cola name has remained and is now recognizable around the world. Coca Cola is not only the name of
the company, which makes a variety of products including the soda that is its namesake. When it

It s name is derived from the ancient greek word ametusthos ( ἀ a ( not ) and μέθυστος méthystos (

applications. It was often incorporated into the crowns and jewelry of royalty. There have been
examples of its use traced as far back as the Neolithic people of Europe.
In Ancient Egypt it was valued for its healing and protective properties. They believed that the stone
could bring relief from both guilt and fear and protect the wearer while they traveled. The Greeks and
the Romans equated the stone with Dionysus/Bacchus and believed it would protect them from
drunkenness. They would also place the stone under their pillow at night as a cure for insomnia and to
bring sweet dreams. If warmed and placed on the forehead they believed it would reduce the

Using Named Examples Assess The Potential For Water Supply...
Using named examples, assess the potential for water supply to become a source of conflict. (15)
According to the International Water Management Institute environmental research organisation
global water stress is increasing, and a third of all people face some sort of water scarcity. Where
demand exceeds supply and no effective management operates, there will be conflicts between the
various players involved.
In addition, global climate change will exacerbate these challenges faced by countries and
populations. Shifting precipitation patterns threaten to reduce water availability in some regions while
inflicting stronger storms on others, increasing both potential droughts and floods. This may increase
the frequency of more serious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However in order to secure their supply they must engage in peaceful negotiations as violence would
only jeapordise their share of the supply. Thus the potential for water conflict is there as tensions
continue to increase between upstream and downstream nations, and perhaps overtime as the
downstream nations share of the supply is further squeezed, these tensions are likely to result in
conflict.
Conflict can also occur within a country, for example the states situated within the Colorado river
basin have been constantly squabbling over who owns the water supply and who should be allocated
the most water. In the 1920s the Law of the River established the division of water amongst the upper
basin states, it also defined their responsibility to supply water to the lower basin states. This division
had been based on an estimated annual flow of 21 billion m3/yr in 1920, however this was a time of
above normal flows, recent studies have indicated that long term average flows are around 18 billion
m3/yr. The deficit between the flow and the allocation has become more apparent as the population in
the clorado basin states continues to rise. As a result of this deficit tensions are rising between the
states, California receives a large percentage of the water as a result of its large population and
political power even though the river does not directly flow through it. This has heightened tensions
with the states

Cyrano De Bergerac Conformity
You are too simple. Why, you might have said Oh a great many things! Mon dieu why waste Your
opportunity? (A1P30) Cyrano de Bergerac, written by Edmond Rostand, breaks away from the generic
framework of famous poet and playwright, William Shakespeare. Edmond Rostand alters the effect of
a chorus, in addition to taking scenes away from acts. The main protagonist of the play, Cyrano, is
known as the invincible hero who always conforms to, but there is more than what meets the eye, but
in this case, the nose. Other supporting characters such as Christian, Roxanne, and De Guiche, have
different self esteem levels which leaves hints about conformity. Standards created by society are
pushing conformity by using the insecurity of others; while others are conforming, individualism is
shunned off. Conformity exists to satisfy the insecurity of others. For instance, Cyrano creates a
facade hide his insecurity. Me whom the plainest woman would despise Me, with this nose of mine

Le Bret is a unique character because he is the only character to prevent Cyrano from conforming.
Stop trying to be the Three Musketeers in one! (A1P75) Because Le Bret is an individual, Cyrano
tends to overlook Le Bret s voice of reason. Roxanne is a different sort of unique because she shaped
herself into individuality. In the beginning, she falls for Christian based on his looks and nothing else.
By telling Christian, Less charming ugly even I should love you still. (A4P162), she unknowingly
confessed to Cyrano. Indirectly, the consequence becomes Cyrano s death. Cyrano exerts too much
energy trying to confess after an injury and dies. With fiction aside, individuals in high school groups
also face consequences. The person who says no to drugs or any peer pressure is the individual. Often
times, the individual is shunned from his/her peers and possibly

Humanitarian Intervention
Introduction
Despite the decolonization occurred in the aftermath of the Second World War (1939 45), the former
colonial powers continue to apply existing and past international economic arrangements to maintain
colonial control over African countries. This can be witnessed in the military intervention by western
countries which is to some authors is done for humanitarian purposes or to expand neo colonialism.
Neo colonialism entails the domination in social, economic and culture of countries from the
developed world that is the western countries in the respective internal affairs of the countries of the
developing world that is African countries (jean Paul: 2001). Intervention is a term which covers a
wide variety of situations where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Military action in Libya was sanctioned by the Security Council under Chapter VII of the United
Nations Charter, which allows for such intervention in the case of a threat to international peace and
security which they have interpreted as including grave threats to civilians. The international
community, through the United Nations, also has the responsibility to use appropriate diplomatic,
humanitarian and other peaceful means, in accordance with Chapters VI and VIII of the Charter, to
help protect populations from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity. In
this context, we are prepared to take collective action, in a timely and decisive manner, through the
Security Council, in accordance with the Charter, including Chapter VII, on a case by case basis and
in cooperation with relevant regional organizations as appropriate, should peaceful means be
inadequate.
In addition, there is a perception that western military intervention in Libya has taken priority over
efforts to secure a political resolution and that, beyond an evident desire to see the removal of Gaddafi
s regime, as this lies under the concept of responsibility to protect Libyan of their rights(ABC:23 02
2011). In this case the Europeans wanted to promote elections so that people of Libya will choose

Explain The Three Categories Of Leadership Northhouse
Northhouse (2015p. 123) has identified three categories of leadership including administration skills,
interpersonal skills, and conceptual skills. The ability to be an effective supervisor is dependent on one
s ability to utilize both the relational and interpersonal skills. The supervisor s role in the Phoenix
House is multidimensional and requires both managerial and leadership skills to be successful. The
senior social worker manages the work of four social employees and two interns from the university
and implements weekly staff meetings as the primary form of communication. Within these meetings,
the concerns and procedures are being addressed, by the social worker. According to Northhouse

A Letter To My Grandson By Dave Barry
Some people choose to believe in what other people believe in, instead of listening to themselves.
Dave Barry s short story A Letter To My Grandson, is a high level of comedy that uses sarcasm and
irony to convey the universal truth that you need to treat others the way one would want to be treated,
use manners, and should not be rude. In addition, people nowadays use precise language to emphasise
the meaning of exaggeration. My goal, in writing this letter, is to pass along to you the important
knowledge I have accumulated in my 67 years on this Earth. Here s the main thing I have learned: You
do not need to refrigerate ketchup or mustard (Barry). The author is exaggerating his life lessons to his

Benefits For Part Time Workers
Case Study 3:
Benefits for Part Time Workers
Ken Davis
Liberty University
Introduction In this weeks case we have Jackson, Smith and Henderson (JSH) Certified Public
Accountants (CPA) one of the fastest growing CPA firms in the area. The firm has just under 100
employees (Martocchio, 2015, p.260) of which two have requested part time statues. The firm had
already considered hiring additional part time workers, consequently the firm need to make a Human
Resource (HR) decision, to decide when and should the company extend the benefits to part time
workers. Therefore, understanding what the Employment and Labor Laws prior to the offering of
extended benefits to part time employees should be the first place to start ... Show more content on

When a company is deciding to make an innovative change or extended benefits to part time
employees, strict compliance is required according to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the
U.S. Department of Labor (Martocchio, 2015). Tiffani Clement (2011) published an article, Does my
business have to provide part time employees with benefits? she writes about the required benefits that
employers must extend to part time employees. For instance, newly added HR Director Alan Jones
must address whether or not his company can afford to offer extended benefits to part time employees.
Three Factors for Consideration Bearing in mind some firms are hiring interims, staffing services and
part time employees through temp agencies. It is no surprise in this case that a recent compensation
survey of business in the local geographical area included information about benefits (Martocchio,
2015). Part time employment are more readily available because it is considered hidden
unemployment, says, Chris Tilly, a professor at UCLA, for instance, if a person works 20 hours a
week, but wants 40 hours, that unfulfilled time is spent unemployed (Gillespie, 2015). Utilizing the
prior options above can save the company money, plus some part time employees are hired at the
entrance level pay, therefore saving the company certain work benefits. Although, the company may
utilize the services of a staffing service and or temp agency,

Motivation And Motivation For Academic Achievements
It is important for everyone especially students to do well in school because it reflects in the
foundation of their accomplishments in life. Students are affect their ability to move to the next level
when they fail to complete some requirements. It takes many factors to motivate individuals to
continue on striving for academic achievements. (Higgins, 2008) It is said that motivation gives big
contribution in one individual s success. Motivation is defined as the organized patterning of three
psychological functions that serves to direct, energize, and regulate goal oriented activity: personal
goals, emotional arousal processes, and personal agency beliefs. It is an interactive construct
representing the direction a person is going, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In conformity with the social norms, people learn by imitating others. However, people don t learn
only the acceptable social behaviours, they may also learn beyond the norms behaviours. Knowledge
gained in this way will have the chance to be transferred to another situation. This may continue all
the time and everywhere. In the same vein, we can argue that students spend most of their time by
learning. This can happen in different situations. It can be seen in groups while with others.
(Woldetsadik Lumadi, 2014) In a school situation students continuously engage themselves in the
learning process. It can be observed when they do assignments, read books and do other related
academic activities. Obviously, this is a regular process exercised by most of the students in schools.
However, the habit of doing these things can t happen at a time. It needs careful observation and
systematic exercise. All these efforts lead students to make their own meaning/understanding of the
activities. Besides, it enables them to reach at a level of sharing their own experiences and to become
a continuous process.
In view of this, Battersby and Gordon (2006) have cited some of the specific situations that can
develop experience within the school context. They stated varied sources of experience. They believe
that the identification of best characteristics of both teachers and students, either in group or
individually, in the first place

Femisim, Sexual and Gender Equality
Feminism/Gender and Orientational Equality
Even though many say that the idea of allowing same sex would be against God s will, and that
women are also the lesser sex of the two binary genders, as well that it is unnatural for people to be
transgender, everyone, regardless of gender (binary or otherwise) and Sexual/Romantic orientations,
deserves equal rights in all cases. Because in only seventeen of fifty states, homosexual couples have
marriage rights. This leaves thirty three states with those who want to marry someone of same gender
unable to be legally wed. Furthermore, The CEDAW (The Convention on the Elimination of All
Forms of Discrimination against Women) Treaty was never ratified by the United States. Feminism is

Democratic Party with alliance to third party Working Families Party gaining de Blasio cross

cities use a strong mayor form of mayor council government, which makes the appropriate check or

The Management Paradigm
Infusion of Technology into the Management Paradigm
We are now seeing the use of technology applications for disease self management and patient
empowerment yielding the potential to improve the overall state of a person s health care. When these
apps are also coupled with telehealth interventions, a unique opportunity is created that enables
proactive interventions to improve compliance with medications, as well as shared decision making by
both patients and clinicians core principles to support best practice models in managing these chronic
respiratory disease states (9 11). For example, patient generated data from mobile apps can be directly

telemonitoring. Telemonitoring appears to be a promising patient management approach, able to
produce accurate and reliable data. In addition, this technology empowers patients by influencing their
behavior to adopt strategies that improve their health condition. The technology can be used to coach
patients to comply with their regimens and prevent disease exacerbation, and intervene early with
appropriate measures to prevent utilization of resources such as the ER. By facilitating self
management practices and incorporating appropriate case management, home telemonitoring can
reduce the use of emergency care and unplanned hospital admissions/readmissions

Stress In High School Students
Do you ever get an agonizing feeling when you have multiple assignments and tests to study for? Do
you dwell over this exhausting consciousness? Yes, this is the well known perception of stress and
anxiety. Feeling overpressured in a school setting, at home, and fearing that these students will not get
into or fail out of college has consumed teenagers minds.
Many High School Students are affected by different types of stress, many of which are associated
with parents and educators. Students are pressured to do well in school and are bombarded with
innumerable, challenging assignments, homework, and tests. These students fear failure resulting in
moderate to severe stress. Tessy Jose statistically proves this when she conducted a survey for high
school students. 80.2% of students experience moderate level of academic stress and only 6.2%
students have severe academic stress (Jose).
Many educators are not fully aware of the stress they set on their students. Educators should be aware
that 10 percent to 15 percent of students experience chronic debilitating stress caused by school
(Amen Reglin). Teachers are not providing the support necessary to get their students through the
tough pressures of high school. They continue to assign homework and give tests that the students are
not ready for

The majority of the patients seen in emergency rooms across the nation are Medicaid recipients, for non emergent reasons. The federal government initiated Medicaid Managed Care programs to offer better healthcare delivery, adequately compensate providers and reduce healthcare costs. Has Medicaid Managed Care addressed the issues and solved the problem? The answer is Yes and No . Throughout the early 1980 s and 1990 s the Federal Medicaid program was challenged by rapidly rising Medicaid program costs and an increasing number of uninsured population. As enrollment increased emergency room over utilization for non emergent reasons decreased. The new Medicaid Managed Care population was being educated on the Gate Keeper concept; the idea of having a primary care physician. A large primary care pediatric practice launched an Emergency Room diversion pilot program and conducted a study of Medicaid recipients, 18 years and younger . (2) 17,382 children were enrolled in an enhanced access group (intervention group) and 26,066 received services from other local primary care providers (control group). (2) The twelve month study results showed that the average per member per month cost of emergency room utilization of the intervention group was $1.36 less than the controlled group. There was no significant difference in terms of per visit cost related to emergency room usage. Although the overall cost of healthcare delivery has not increased the enrollment in traditional Medicaid fee for service product has increased and surpassed Medicaid managed care enrollment in the past six years. This recent change in the market place is of particular concern. The idea of losing what has been gained such as, guaranteed access to providers, improved care management attributed to primary care provider healthcare delivery and the ability to monitor insurance carrier performance motivated State Medicaid agencies to devise a response on how to handle this current issue. Animal Abuse In Animal Farm The addiction drug of power can be good and controlled in small doses, but given to one person all at once and without limits can lead to overdose, which is harmful not only to the people within the society, but to the leader as well. In the intriguing, satirical novella, Animal Farm, by George Orwell, the leadership of a revolution turns from it s all about the people, to a dystopian Stalinist society where power is controlled under one person and one person only, usually with the help of a strong military force. During the overthrow of the farm, led by Napoleon, their new society slowly turns into a funnel to feed his greed for power. With little to eat and hard working hours, the animals on the farm are having a hard time living with their caretaker, Mr. Jones, a repulsive man who does not feed or even care for his animal s well being. It s sort of like a torture situation or slavery because they animals are not getting their fair share of food and resources for working so hard. As the for the dog, when they grow old and toothless, Jones ties a brick round their necks and drowns them in the nearest pond (Orwell 9). Jones actions can be directly related to those of the last Russian Tsar, Tsar Nicholas II during the uprising of communism in Russia and when all of his people in Russia were not getting fed and getting worked to death, but still somehow surviving. This great demand has lead to an increase in farmers who are willing to cash in on these cash crops and try to earn a few quick dollars because of the great demand for it. These farmers are going to slow down their productions of corn for corn oil and increase the production of corn for energy because it is the more profitable thing to do and its makes perfect business sense. Now the demand for the corn oil remains the same, but the productions for it has slowed greatly if not stopped, this means that farmers and corn producers will need to raise the price of corn for corn products so they will be able to stay on the market longer and have a longer shelf life until another year or harvest comes around. Gaddafi had previously been linked to supporting many terrorist attacks, such as, the Lockerbie bombing and the 1986 Berlin discotheque bombing. Identifying The Unknown Bacteria From A Mixed Culture Identification of Enterobacter Aerogenes Annie Banh November 15, 2014 Jason Atkins Unknown #19 The purpose of this study is to identify an unknown bacterium from a mixed culture. We identified the unknown bacteria through different biochemical tests and identified the many metabolic capabilities of the bacteria. Studying and discovering unknown bacteria is very important in the health field as it may lead to new medicines and innovations for current, existing diseases as well as any upcoming diseases. The discovery of unknown bacteria is very useful in the pharmaceutical industry, as most of the products prepared are made based on these unknown organisms. The biochemical tests used to identify the unknown bacteria included: phenol red broth test (glucose, lactose, and sucrose), methyl red and Voges Proskauer test, citrate test, indole test, H2S production test, urea test and motility test. The PR broths are used to differentiate members of Enterobacteriaceae and to distinguish these members from other gram negative rods. The PR broths are useful in determining a bacterium s fermentation abilities. If the bacterium is able to utilize the carbohydrate, then the acid production from fermentation lowers pH, which in turn turns the broth yellow. However, if the bacterium is unable to utilize the carbohydrate, but does utilize the peptone, which produces the by product ammonia, the medium will have a rise in pH turning the broth pink. (Lamb, 301) There is no hard statistical data pertaining to the Earth s temperature s over the last thousand years, but based on the history that we have, the high middle ages saw a persistently warm climate epoch, which lasted until about 1310. The following centuries brought a series of changes, some of them abrupt, leading to the so called Little Ice Age between 1550 1700 or later. It was found that, Around 1880 1890 it was apparent that the climactic averages of that time were very similar to those of a century earlier, and it became conventional to treat climate as essentially a constant. The matter of putting the country back together laid heavily upon the shoulders of the government. Questions of rights to power emanated. Discrimination grew steadily more powerful. This period of time was not as radical as events such as the Revolutionary War that began the country, but the many parallels to it brought it awfully close. Through questioning of the central and state government power levels, heavy constitutional observation and interpretation, and morality based decision making, it is fair to call the period between 1860 and 1877 nothing short of revolutionary. The Revolutionary War was as its title states; revolutionary. The people of the colonies were disconsolate with the power that Great Britain was exhibiting over them. • 21. Using Named Examples Assess The Potential For Water Supply... Using named examples, assess the potential for water supply to become a source of conflict. (15) According to the International Water Management Institute environmental research organisation global water stress is increasing, and a third of all people face some sort of water scarcity. Where demand exceeds supply and no effective management operates, there will be conflicts between the various players involved. In addition, global climate change will exacerbate these challenges faced by countries and populations. Shifting precipitation patterns threaten to reduce water availability in some regions while inflicting stronger storms on others, increasing both potential droughts and floods. This may increase the frequency of more serious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However in order to secure their supply they must engage in peaceful negotiations as violence would only jeapordise their share of the supply. Thus the potential for water conflict is there as tensions continue to increase between upstream and downstream nations, and perhaps overtime as the downstream nations share of the supply is further squeezed, these tensions are likely to result in conflict. Conflict can also occur within a country, for example the states situated within the Colorado river basin have been constantly squabbling over who owns the water supply and who should be allocated the most water. In the 1920s the Law of the River established the division of water amongst the upper basin states, it also defined their responsibility to supply water to the lower basin states. This division had been based on an estimated annual flow of 21 billion m3/yr in 1920, however this was a time of above normal flows, recent studies have indicated that long term average flows are around 18 billion m3/yr. The deficit between the flow and the allocation has become more apparent as the population in the clorado basin states continues to rise. As a result of this deficit tensions are rising between the states, California receives a large percentage of the water as a result of its large population and political power even though the river does not directly flow through it. This has heightened tensions with the states ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(A1P30) Cyrano de Bergerac, written by Edmond Rostand, breaks away from the generic framework of famous poet and playwright, William Shakespeare. Edmond Rostand alters the effect of a chorus, in addition to taking scenes away from acts. The main protagonist of the play, Cyrano, is known as the invincible hero who always conforms to, but there is more than what meets the eye, but in this case, the nose. Other supporting characters such as Christian, Roxanne, and De Guiche, have different self esteem levels which leaves hints about conformity. Standards created by society are pushing conformity by using the insecurity of others; while others are conforming, individualism is shunned off. However, people don t learn only the acceptable social behaviours, they may also learn beyond the norms behaviours. In the same vein, we can argue that students spend most of their time by learning. This can happen in different situations. It can be seen in groups while with others. (Woldetsadik Lumadi, 2014) In a school situation students continuously engage themselves in the learning process. It can be observed when they do assignments, read books and do other related academic activities. Obviously, this is a regular process exercised by most of the students in schools. However, the habit of doing these things can t happen at a time. It needs careful observation and systematic exercise. All these efforts lead students to make their own meaning/understanding of the activities. Besides, it enables them to reach at a level of sharing their own experiences and to become a continuous process.
