This document discusses cultural transmission, which is defined as the transmission of preferences, beliefs, and behavioral norms across generations through social interactions. It is studied by several social sciences. Education serves as a means of cultural transmission by teaching individuals about the knowledge, skills, and social/moral rules of their culture. While cultural transmission can increase cultural awareness and understanding, it can also negatively degrade other cultures by promoting the view of some groups as disadvantaged, inferior, or hostile.

information and of rules or values collected in the past; they
believe that educators that the educator’s job is the direct
instruction of such information or rules.
