PLOT SYNOPSIS
“Detective George Foster is determined to catch
the man responsible for his family’s death, the
Gripwell Killer. With nothing left to lose, the
detective is fuelled with anger and has become
obsessed with catching the murderer, will he spare
or kill him? This time it’s personal.”
OUR IDEA – HOW WAS IT CREATED?
• Crime Genre – Unique as previous A2 media trailers
were mostly horror and action
• Inspired by the film “Zodiac” – 2007
• Fans of crime films
CHARACTERS
Detective George Foster The Gripwell Killer
• Crippling obsession with
The Gripwell Killer after he
murdered his family
• Short temper
• Will stop at nothing to
complete his own agenda
• Tough upbringing, but
turned his life around,
finished college and
created a family.
Devastated by their
deaths.
• Liked to play golf, however
after his family’s death he
stopped enjoying hobbies
and is now focused on
finding the Gripwell Killer
• Mysterious Criminal
who operates in
England, Birmingham
• Aware that Detective
George Foster is
obsessed with him
• Tough upbringing
• Has no connections to
friends or family to
remain anaonymous
• Enjoys watching
violent films

Babbs Mill
Garage- Charlie’s House Alleyway
TARGET AUDIENCE
• Target Audience - 15-34 year olds
• BBFC Age rating – 15
• 15-24 year olds are the majority of audiences who watch horror films, we will be
implementing some conventions of horror films into our trailer as we are creating a
suspenseful crime film
• People above 34 may not be able to connect with the characters more due to the age
difference
• Target audience research will be done to find out what our audience wants before we film
so that we can make changes, for example we are doing questionnaires and interviews
with people in our target audience to gain feedback

HOW WILL OUR TRAILER BE
EFFECTIVE/SUCCESSFUL?
• A lot of research has been done that we have
implemented into our planning for our trailer, a few
examples include analysing film trailers, the
conventions of crime films, behaviours of a
stereotypical detective and murderer and much more
• After completing our target audience research we will
find what our audience wants in a crime film and a
trailer, we can then make changes to improve our trailer

  • 2. PLOT SYNOPSIS “Detective George Foster is determined to catch the man responsible for his family’s death, the Gripwell Killer. With nothing left to lose, the detective is fuelled with anger and has become obsessed with catching the murderer, will he spare or kill him? This time it’s personal.”
  • 3. OUR IDEA – HOW WAS IT CREATED? • Crime Genre – Unique as previous A2 media trailers were mostly horror and action • Inspired by the film “Zodiac” – 2007 • Fans of crime films
  • 4. CHARACTERS Detective George Foster The Gripwell Killer • Crippling obsession with The Gripwell Killer after he murdered his family • Short temper • Will stop at nothing to complete his own agenda • Tough upbringing, but turned his life around, finished college and created a family. Devastated by their deaths. • Liked to play golf, however after his family’s death he stopped enjoying hobbies and is now focused on finding the Gripwell Killer • Mysterious Criminal who operates in England, Birmingham • Aware that Detective George Foster is obsessed with him • Tough upbringing • Has no connections to friends or family to remain anaonymous • Enjoys watching violent films
  • 5. LOCATIONS Detective George Foster’s Home – Charlie’s house Babbs Mill Garage- Charlie’s House Alleyway
  • 6. TARGET AUDIENCE • Target Audience - 15-34 year olds • BBFC Age rating – 15 • 15-24 year olds are the majority of audiences who watch horror films, we will be implementing some conventions of horror films into our trailer as we are creating a suspenseful crime film • People above 34 may not be able to connect with the characters more due to the age difference • Target audience research will be done to find out what our audience wants before we film so that we can make changes, for example we are doing questionnaires and interviews with people in our target audience to gain feedback

HOW WILL OUR TRAILER BE EFFECTIVE/SUCCESSFUL? • A lot of research has been done that we have implemented into our planning for our trailer, a few examples include analysing film trailers, the conventions of crime films, behaviours of a stereotypical detective and murderer and much more • After completing our target audience research we will find what our audience wants in a crime film and a trailer, we can then make changes to improve our trailer
