Total Quality Management At Kiichiro Toyoda
The main pillars in the model resemble the total quality control or total quality management of the
company that can best be summarized in this pyramid illustration.
Total quality management means that everyone is involved in continuously refining the service to
customers with data and profound knowledge. Kiichiro Toyoda made customers a huge priority in his
theory. The base of the pyramid consisted of the costs of gaining quality, processing services, testing,
tools, and prevention. The second level of the pyramid is involvement, which examines the rewards,
acknowledgment, training, empowerment, and partnerships within the company. The third level is
leadership that deals with talks about the ownership, management support, and the corporation s
mission plan. The next level is culture, which explains the values and continuous improvement made
by the employees. Finally the top of the pyramid is total quality management, which encompasses the
main goal of being a customer driven company. Toyoda s primary viewpoints in his system embrace
the theories of just in time and Jidoka. Just in time (JIT) focuses on productivity improvement with the
main idea being, making only what is needed, when it is needed, and in the amount needed . The main
goal for JIT was to effectively build a car within the shortest possible amount of time by obeying four
guidelines. The first rule states that when the first order is established it must be brought to the start of

Is Freedom Still Relevant Today
As our Founding Fathers stated in the First Amendment in the Constitution of the United States,
Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press, or the right of the people to peaceably
assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances, (qtd. in Marcovitz 22). Were they
alive today, our Founding Fathers would be greatly appreciative of the changes made to the
Constitution as the prospective and needs of our nation evolved over the last several decades. Freedom
is the idea of being able to act, speak, or think without rule or restriction; which is not the reality of
many countries today and also for women and slaves many years ago in the United States.

Women had trouble being granted the same rights as men till they demanded change. There were
many feminist groups that arose during these desperate times, which helped the issue to be recognized.
The National American Women Suffrage Association (NAWSA) was formed by two women s suffrage
groups, American Woman Suffrage Association and National Woman Suffrage Association which
protested with mass marches and hunger strikes (Suffrage, pars. 2 3). The NAWSA influenced other
groups to come forward, like the National Council of Negro Women (Rights, par. 5). In 1869, African
American men were granted the ballot, but African American women continue with the struggle to
voice their opinions (Suffrage, par 2). Women today still struggle in work environments, with sexism
and being paid less than men. Women are paid twenty two percent less than men, which according to
the Institute for Women s Policy Research will take another forty four years for this gap to be
diminished. In other words, race nor gender should determine one s

Like Water For Chocolate Summary
The kitchen is a very important aspect of not only Like Water for Chocolate: A Novel in Monthly
Installments, with Recipes, Romances, and Home Remedies , a novel published in 1989, but also the
author, Laura Esquivel s life. Growing up, the kitchen and cooking were very important aspects of
Esquivel s life. She therefore wrote the novel in a cookbook style in order to examine and emphasize
the roles of women and gender identities throughout a time period much earlier than when she was
born, the Mexican Revolution. She connects the characters of her novel to important figures of the
revolution and flips the roles of men and women to break the social order of what is seen as normal in

This may be due to the emphasis the government placed on economic growth throughout her lifetime.
There was a similar emphasis during the Mexican Revolution. The Mexican Revolution began in
November of 1910 and there isn t a universal agreement as to when the revolution ended or what
ended it. The initial goal of the revolution was to overthrow General Porfirio Diaz who had been in
power for more than 30 years. Diaz rose to power as what most would consider a liberal leader, but
contradictory to the anticlericalism of most nineteenth century liberals, he was very close with the
Catholic Church and depended on wealthy elites to ensure his political survival. During his time in
power, the economics of Mexico rose drastically changing the structure of Mexican classes, which
caused uproar. The government policies in Mexico during the time when Esquivel was alive stressed
industrial growth, just as Diaz did in his time in

They say that there were children playing in the woods. Eight children seven sisters and their brother.
And the boy was pretending to be a bear and he was chasing his sisters through the woods, and they
were pretending to be frightened. And in the course of the game, the boy actually turned into a bear. It
was a terrible thing. The sisters, when they saw that, were truly terrified and they ran for their lives,
the bear after them. As they were running, they passed the stump of a tree a very large, huge tree
stump. And the tree spoke to them and said, If you will climb up on me, I will save you. So the sisters
climbed on top of the tree stump, and as they did so, it began to rise into the air. And the bear came to
kill them, but they were beyond its reach, and so the bear reared up and scored the bar all around with
its claws, and if you ve seen Devils Tower, it is deeply striated all around. It looks like it has been
scored by the claws of a gigantic beast. And the girls, as the story has it, were born into the sky and
they became the stars of the Big Dipper. And that is the story.

Summer lengthens the days and eases the schedule. Paces slow and creativity blossoms with free play
and the openness of outdoor spaces. The seemingly endless energy of children fuels their minds and
with feet running they are off to discover, invent, create and more.
Providing a few simple items, parents encourage the inspiration. A playground ball, art supplies, water
or sand act as catalysts to summer fun and memories. Couple these with the always loved playhouse

activity are worth it. And, your kids might just surprise you with their kitchen skills. Provide a special

SUMMER CAMP
Another staple of the sunny season continues to be summer camp. But cost, time away, a different
pace may be desired. Why not use the playhouse fort as a summer camp base? You can host activities
for your children, a few friends or the entire neighborhood.
Enlist trusted local teens or your older kids to teach a few basic skills. Find teens or even college kids
with an interest or talent in your camp theme. Young kids love interaction with older kids and will eat
it up. Valuable relationships may just result.
Art camp includes all those messy activities that might be best left to the outdoors. Finger painting the
paper covered exterior of the playhouse fort produces a colorful masterpiece and plenty of giggles.
Squirt gun painting promises delightful artwork and likely a few antics. Remember to include

History And History Of Feminism
Feminism. So, what is Feminism and how did it begin? By definition, Feminism is the political,
social, and cultural movement towards women s rights and equality between men and women. It is the
belief that all sexes deserve to be treated as equals regardless of any physical and biological attributes.
The history. The term itself originated from, socialist, Charles Fourier, back in the 1890s. Various
historians believe that the history of the Feminist Movement had three waves. The First Wave began in
the 19th and 20th century in the United States and the United Kingdom. This first wave had more to
do with obtaining political power and abolishing the norm of treating women as property. Notable

culture is the ideology of normalizing rape and sexual assault. The media, unjust verdicts against rape
victims, and victim blaming reinforces this type of mentality. According to the Rape, Abuse, and
Incest National Network statistics, only a third sexual assaults are reported to the police. This is
widely because of the negative perception that comes with being a rape victim. Victims are often
terrified of the prejudice that comes with stepping forward and reporting the case. The Feminism
Movement has helped empowered a large number of women to put an end to this ideology. Though
still present in our society, the movement has brought about powerful events such as the Amber Rose

Medicine Is Not Just Been My Career Choice
Half awake, I could still hear the loud agonizing cries. I grabbed my mini stethoscope and hurried
downstairs to observe an impressive array of tasks to save lives. Though, I was a child, it was not the
first time I had seen a critical patient with a busy medical crew around. I grew up in a hospital where
both my parents worked full time. Gradually I started imbibing the quintessential values of a medical
career to the point when helping others was no longer an act, but a way of living life. This is why I
believe, medicine has not just been my career choice but a personal journey of self discovery and
human revelation.
In 2004, I donated all my savings to the Tsunami relief fund, which sowed the seeds for the growth of
the person I had chosen to become. Since then, years of experience as a president and a member of
various Non governmental organizations (NGO) including the American Red Cross Society has
inculcated in me the compassion and leadership qualities.
During my medical school, attending several enlightening workshops on Art of living and meditation,
assimilated in me higher moral values and an inner code of conduct. While, the hardships of staying
away from home at a boarding school with acute shortage of basic amenities were testing me, I
maintained a rank in top few students throughout my medical school. Teaching health issues and
nutritional requirements to primary school teachers and in Primary Health Care(PHC) centers of

Mad Scientists and Mad Elements Essay
We all know the saying, Don t judge a book by it s cover. Similarly, every element in the periodic
table has its own story and its own unique meaning. However, the average high schooler simply
associates these elements as something used in their chemistry classes. In fact, the elements seen on
the periodic table actually have much more to do in our daily lives and in history than most people
know. While giving a whole new perspective to the meaning of Chemistry, author Sam Kean
successfully recounts the hidden tales through humor and wit in his bestselling novel The
Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the

Roentgen performed many tests, including his colleagues discoveries, which involved painting the
plates with a barium compound. When the plates were held in front of an object, Roentgen was able to
see through whatever he was holding up. Inevitably, he was astonished by this discovery and
immediately suspected that he had gone mad. As readers now, one finds his reaction to the first traces
of x ray quite humorous. In fact, this tale is certainly one where the ending is not detrimental, and in
contrary the happy opposite. Essentially, Kean focuses on the idea that these certain elements
mentioned in the chapter affected the lives of these mad scientists immensely. For the most part, these
elements hurt the careers and lives of some scientists, however this was not the case in all of the
stories in this chapter. The examples of selenium crazed Crookes, the false hype of the manganese
covered megadaltons, the palladium scandal of Pons and Fleischmann and the startling discovery of
the x ray by Roentgen successfully conveyed the central theme and concepts. It is very easy for
someone to understand the context filled stories and how they connect to what Kean is trying to
establish. Additionally, the author generally maintains a balanced bias throughout the chapter.
However, with the story of Pons and Fleischmann, one can really sense Kean s negative attitude to
these two scientists. He describes the pair as impostors, swindlers, and cheats (263) as well as

The Future of Management
Abstract
Management development strategies of many organizations seemed to converge in the nineties. We
thought the world would stay on a standstill when the millennium loomed. The new word on the street
was Y2K. So what are the concerns for the current state of management development, and what we
expect for the future to hold? This paper will tackle such issue.
The Future of Management
Companies are geared into increase in efficiency and productivity, better choice of goods, more
competitive prices, faster execution and better resource allocation. What was true then, will still hold
true in the future, except it just may double up. Obviously, ideas like these contributed to the call for

If they can find a product on line and save them the trek to the store, they will choose the Internet.
Customers are no longer afraid of the World Wide Web. They are actually what you call Internet
savvy. Companies, management and leaders need to realize that if they want to stay competitive in
today s hard business, they need to enhance their business knowledge of Information Technology.
More and more technological innovations are sprouting. If a company stays within its boundary of
relic technology, it will not survive. The same goes for the managements and leaders of any
organization. The need to shed the old ways of management is a must. For companies to keep
employees, the need to embrace effective leadership and good management style. The organizational
culture needs to be value driven, empowering employees to have the entrepreneurial spirit. Line
managers, top managers and executives need to be able to manage change in a continuous learning
environment while creating and maintaining the appropriate working culture.

Who Is Lust In Chaucer s Tale
Lust is a predominant word within the Monk s life. The word is present through his actions and words.
The word has a history to it and that may apply to the Monk as well. The etymology is very important
to the word. Throughout The Canterbury Tales, you can tell that this word is predominant over any
other word within the character of the Monk.
The Monk exemplifies the word by his actions and words. The Monk does not care for the way the
Church operates and wishes to do what he pleases. He should not hunt yet he hunts anyways because
Chaucer (2005) says he believes the rules to be old and somdel streit (Line 174). He believes that
manual labor should not be done if it does not have to be done. The Monk believes in an easy life, one
free from any sort of responsibility that might hinder his pleasure. Though he wishes to be a monk, he
does not want to abide by what he thinks is a hindrance to his lustful way. Monks should wear modest

Guns Germs And Steel Analysis
Why do some people get the privilege to live great and others have to suffer everyday? There are
many places in the world today that are not great places to live and grow up but people don t always
have a choice. Guns, germs, and steel by Jared Diamond is written with a purpose to discuss and
reveal why some societies have so much and others have so little. He explains the theory behind
geographical luck and migration. He also talks about how these two things can lead to technology
advances. The reason behind the difference of technology and economy advances all begins with the
geography and the way that guns, germs, and steel were introduced and how they were introduced.
Geography luck is describing how lucky you are with the land that is provided for example the closer
to the fertile crescent the better and more resources you will have. People don t understand how big of
a help it really is to have a greater supply of resources because by having a selective food resource
people are able to store food. Since more food can be stored and saved people can become more
dependent on the land continuously providing for them instead of worrying about hunting and
gathering. For example, New Guinea is unlucky due to the lack of resources and rich soil which means
they have to spend all of their time hunting and gathering to provide enough food for that day. Hunting

Analysis Of The Movie From The Dawn Of Film
Since the dawn of film, back in 1895, directors and filmmakers utilized every worldly element they
could to have not only characters and the plot tell a story to the audience, but so the things that created
the atmosphere contribute to the progression of the story as well. Manipulating the mise en scéne, or
all of the elements that contribute to the atmosphere or mood of a film, in various degrees such as
camera angles, editing technique, lighting, sounds, and color, can shift the mood of a scene and alter
the audiences feeling. In most films, light can be symbolic and tell a story in a way that words couldn
t. As filmmakers use chiaroscuro, the arrangement of light and shadow to tell a story in a scene or
film, to provoke or portray a certain emotion ranging from happiness, relief, sorrow, and even sinister.
Sound manipulation enhances these emotions and contributes to the story enough to allow the
audience to foreshadow. Examples of this can be found in early films such as Sunrise: A Song of Two
Humans, M, and Scarface. In 1932, American filmmaker Howard Hawks produces Scarface: The
Shame of a Nation, a film loosely based on Al Capone, a notorious mobster known for the distribution
of alcohol during prohibition. The film was made to portray life in America and the violence and
brutality of American gang life. Hawk also reveals the dark impulses in man, taking wicked action to
achieve what they desire. Tony Camonte, also
West 2 known as Scarface, is an Italian gangster

The Effect of Task Complexity on the Relation Between...
1. Introduction
In this study I want to look at the effect of task complexity on the relationship between team based
incentives and performance. I will thus try to find whether task complexity is a moderating variable in
the relation between incentives and performance and specifically try to find whether this effect differs
for individual incentives and team incentives.
When looking at incentive contracts in management accounting literature, usually theories from the
field of economics and psychology are combined. In some circumstances these theories can lead to
quite opposing predictions of the effect of incentives on performance. In general incentive contracts
are a decision influencing control tool used to make sure that people s ... Show more content on

For example Lazear (2000) empirically finds in a manufacturing environment that pay for
performance increases productivity with 44%. On the other hand Bonner et al. (2000) find that only in
about 50 percent of the experiments they examined, financial performance led to improvements in
productivity. This thus means that the relationship between incentives and performance may be
dependent on the situational circumstances and they do not work in every environment. Specifically in
their review of experiments Bonner et al. (2000) find that when the complexity of the task increases
(relative to the skill of the participants), the likelihood of observing a positive effect of incentives on
performance decrease. Bailey and Fessler (2011) also find that monetary incentives are more effective
when the task is less complex. On the other hand in a review of empirical studies on financial
incentives and performance Jenkins et al. (1999) find that financial incentives are generally related to
output quantity but not to quality. Furthermore, they find task type is independent of the relation
between financial incentives and performance. If the performance on a complex task is more difficult
to measure, the agent s effort thus has less influence on the performance measure (more noise, less
sensitivity) and the measure is less effective.
All the above studies are concerned with individual incentives. Apart from research on individual
incentives there is also a lot

Coaching Analysis
Assignment one
Introduction:
Analysis of sports performance is of great importance to a higher performance sports coach. Coaching
is about enhancing an athlete(s) performance a principal means by which this achieved is through
feedback however research as proven that human observation and memory are not reliable enough to
provide the detailed information necessary to secure behavioural changes (Franks and Miller 1986)
P101.
According to world renowned rugby union coach Graham Henry A successful coach is one who
prepares his team to deal with all eventualities, are fully briefed on the game and understand their
requirements. A coach s job is to familiarise them with their particular strengths and weaknesses
(Henry 1999). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Analysis can also be used whilst coaching on a one to one basis. The athlete can then view their
performance techniques in order to ascertain information required in enhancing their performance.
2. The methods and systems used in performance analysis
1.2.1 The human memory can be used to aid a coach in his analysis of performance however this way
is not known to be the most effective way to support performance analysis. Human memory is limited
so it is almost impossible to remember and acknowledge everything that happens throughout a game
type situation.
For example Franks and Miller (1986) provided information research collected that showed less than
45 percent of football coaches where accurate in their post match assessment using the method of
human memory (Hughes 2008) p103. Even though the use of human memory can give the coach a
general idea of how a team or athlete as done throughout a game or event, it should not be used to
determine accurate observational or statistical conclusions.
1.2.2 Hand notion is relatively accurate and cheap but it does have disadvantages (Hughes 2008)
p101. This type of method often consists of relevant details of performance that is often collected by
one or more persons throughout an event or game type situation. Analysis data is collected and

Garfield The Great Thesis
Garfield the Great Throughout American, history, we ve had some interesting presidents. All of them
were unique in their own ways. One of the most unique would have to be President James A. Garfield
though. He had his work cut out for him, especially during the election period. Running against the
famous Ulysses S. Grant, he would have to convince voters that he was the better candidate over the
Civil War s most famous general, and he somehow managed to do exactly that. The twentieth
president was 49 years old, which doesn t seem that old for a president. He was very knowledgeable
for his age and could fill notebooks full of political information. Overall, he seemed to be an
extraordinary president, but no man is perfect, not even the president. ... Show more content on

He died just 79 days after being shot by Charles Guiteau. Charles wasn t appointed by James Garfield,
which he believed he should have been. In his mind, there was no doubt that he was by far the most

was calling him to kill the president, which is crazy. God even said killing was a sin, so he was wired
wrong, but never the less, on July second 1881, James Garfield was shot. One bullet nicked his arm
and one went into his torso. His health was like a roller coaster, ups and downs. Sadly, the doctor s

Garfield s condition even worse. Sadly, he passed

The Problem Of Adolescent Depression
Adolescent Depression
Depression a word we re familiar with especially when it comes to adults, we know adults get depress
and we understand the reasons, with the high demands in life it s not uncommon to get lost in the
shuffle. Depression in adult is something we have known for many years, but what has surprised many
of us is that adolescents also get depressed. I myself still don t fully understand the reasons why or
how this happens. I see it very often adolescent coming in to the ER because they are depressed and
want to hurt themselves, and each and every single time I m shock. What could be so bad in their lives
that would make them think they have no way out? This is the reason why I choice this topic, I want
to learn more of how this disease affects so many children and teens and what we can do to stop it.
People used to believe that children had no reason to be depressed it wasn t till a few years ago: No
one thought that children could suffer from real depression; there wasn t even an official diagnosis for
childhood depression until 1980 (Fassler 4). But really who would have thought that such a thing
could be possible. Sadly today we know that it s a real disease and it affects more adolescents than we
think: The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that as many as 2.5 percent of all American
youngsters under the age of eighteen or over 1.5 million children and adolescents are seriously
depressed (Fassler 2).

Cooper s Ice Arena Solution Claude Cooper s target segment for his public ice skating sessions seems
to be adult couples, kids (14 and younger) and teens (14 and up) I think those target segments can
increase revenue for him he may just be going about the wrong way. There s also potential to make
certain sessions more exclusive than other public sessions but Claude seems hesitant to do so. His
strategies or ideas are great in theory however the results show only poor sales. I believe his focusing
on one target group so heavily has left him sort sided as to the potential of profits each segment brings
to offering public ice skating sessions.

Once he builds the popularity of his sessions he can start to offer exclusive sessions to certain target
markets.
For the elusive teen segment Claude should advertise on contemporary (pop, hip hop, etc.) local radio
stations that teens actually listen to. He can offer an exclusive teen night either Friday or Saturday
night. He should think about hiring a contemporary dj to play that night and encourage everyone who
comes to tweet, hashtag or upload selfies to their social apps(Twitter or Instagram).
For couples he can offer a couples only night designed around bonding and socializing. He could offer
a couples night out package that incorporates a public ice skating session that comes with hot cocoa
for two or wine for older couples.
For the kids he could have ice skating races where the winner wins a prize and offer times either on
Saturday or Sunday afternoons where kids can come and have birthday parties.
By defining each target market and finding each target markets value of his product he can then sell
his product in a way that appeals to all of the groups. These changes will then allow Claude to
generate the revenue he originally set out to make.

The Between Associate And Bachelor s Prepared Nurses And...
The advocates for baccalaureate degree (BSN) educated nurses are growing steadily with both private
and public organizations speaking out in support. The reason for this outcry is understandable. As a
registered nurse with over 15 years of experience, I have come to observe that the current healthcare
environment has become faster in pace and more dynamic and as a result, necessitate the need for
nurses to continually renew, update, and challenge their knowledge. The idea that basic nursing
education will prepare a nurse for a lifetime of practice is no longer reasonable given rapid
technological and scientific advancements (Bahn, 2007; Gillies Pettengill, 1993; Gould Kelly, 2004).
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the differences in competences between associate and bachelor
s prepared nurses and to identify a patient care situation which will describe how nursing interventions
may differ based on nursing education levels Though, associate degree nursing (ADN) students take
the same qualifying examination with the baccalaureate program student to be licensed, the
differences between nurses prepared at both levels cannot be over emphasized. The BSN graduates
bring unique skills to their work as nursing clinicians and play an important role in the delivery of safe
patient care (AACN, 2013). The BSN curriculum is structured in a more in depth way, thereby giving
the students a more well rounded education. They take courses that help them gain a better

The Second And Final Component Of The Flavian Dynasty
The third and final component of the Flavian dynasty is Caesar Domitianus Augustus, the self
proclaimed God and ruthless dictator who reigned from AD 81 to 96. Domitian is the youngest son of
the emperor Vespasian and Flavia Domitilla. He was the less favored son of Vespasian, his father
valued his heir to the thrown and Domitian s older brother, Titus. Domitian s youth was largely spent
living in the shadows of Titus. As a child Domitian lived on rural land that his father acquired,
spending most of his time in his home on Pomegranate Street, which was later turned into a temple of
the Flavian family. Domitian spent a degraded childhood consisting of struggles with poverty and
infamy. He became accustomed to rural life as a child and when he fled from Rome whenever possible
in order to sulk in isolation and stab fireflies. After the death of Vitellius when he was fighting a war
up against Vespasian, Domitian gained the title as Ceaser. However, Domitian only held the name as
Ceaser, he appointed a colleague to handle all Judicial decisions. In order for Domitian to gain a
military reputation that would outshine his brother Titus, he devised a pointless expedition from Gaul
to Germany, which was dismissed by his father s friends. As a result, Domitian was reprimanded and
failed at gaining a good military reputation. Domitian constantly turned to the idea of competition in
order to gain power. An example of this is shown when Domitian wanted to offer soldiers double

Renaissance Impact On Society
Renaissance was a time of change. Scientific advances, literature, and art blossomed among all the
people. Before the renaissance, during the Middle Ages, most people were illiterate and the Roman
Catholic Church held all the power. Most of the population consisted of peasant farmers known as
serfs. Times began to change when more and more peasants became self sufficient and gained their
freedom. Humanism was developed and times were getting better for all people. The purpose of this
paper is to explain how the renaissance changed man s view on the world.

Everything from the alignment of the planets to the knowledge we had on the human body changed.
Claudius Ptolemy came up with the geocentric model of the universe that placed the earth in the
middle with all the planets surrounding it. He developed theories of the universe that was adopted by
most scholars during the Middle Ages (DOC C) Then later on during the Renaissance period Nicolaus
Copernicus came up with the correct heliocentric model that placed the sun in the center with the
planets surrounding it. Relying mostly on mathematics and observation, he developed a different
understanding of the universe (DOC C) Even though his calculations weren t exactly correct,
Copernicus still had the right idea. When it came to the human body during the Middle Ages it was
believed that each zodiac sign controlled a part of the human body. The image on the left reflects the

All the changes that occurred during the Renaissance reflected humanism and science. By introducing
humanism, religion was pushed to the side for the first time ever. People could think freely and make

Abstract
This paper attempts to establish the factors that affect sustainable women education in Nigeria. The
paper found out that non participation of women in education programmes was as a result of some
limiting factors and proffers solutions to such.
Introduction
It is not that there are no studies or recommendations on how to resolve women s educational

Women play constructive, complimentary and fundamental roles in the society. The education of
woman in the formal education exposes her to available information that could aid them in responsible
behaviour for effective and efficient motherhood. Education confers undoubted benefits on the
individuals and the society especially when it is appropriate to the goals and aspirations of the society.
Based on the above, Nyerere (1970) stated that education should be designed to meet the economic
and developmental circumstances of a nation. It is in realisation of the above that women need to
participate in the socio economic development of any nation which is in consonant with the United
Nations advocacy which led to pronouncement of a decade for women (1975 1985).
According to the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3010: XXVII, the decade was aimed at
addressing issues relating to the educational advancement of women with the over riding goals being
that of developing their potentials, contribute to and benefit from development (United Nations,
1985). The United Nations in a publication titled The
Nairobi Forward Looking: Strategies for the Advancement of Women , published in 1985 provided a
framework for renewal commitment by member states to the advancement of women in education

Invisible Man Analysis
In the book Invisible Man, it is based in a time period where there is somewhat of a divide between
blacks and whites, and because of this lifestyle that was created by society, the main character is
caught in the crossfire. The narrator feeling invisible in this world dominated by whites, where he
feels he doesn t belong, and is frankly, invisible. The narrator goes to several different parts of the
country to use what many people admire about him, his voice. Not in a singing way but in a form of
speeches which helps bring attention to some of the societal issues and that not only he has but what
many have encountered just like him along their life s journey. During his experiences in New York
and finding his way, he is cut out from certain things that tie him back to his version of home, some
people, specifically Brother Jack, Mr. Norton, and Dr. Bledsoe and some experiences made it difficult
to feel like he was where he belonged, alienating him from certain realms of society. The narrator
faces many struggles in the beginning of the book that lead to the idea of exile and the fact that the
narrator is perhaps, invisible. Dr. Bledsoe does a good job of manipulating the narrator into thinking
he is welcomed at the University early on. You can tell from his personality that he is only in it for
himself but acts as though he is thoughtful towards other. You re nobody, son. You don t exist can t
you see that? The white folk tell everybody what to think except men like me. I tell them; that s my
life, telling white folk how to think about the things I know about... But you listen to me: I didn t make
it, and I know that I can t change it. But I ve made my place in it and I ll have every Negro in the
country hanging on tree limbs by morning if it means staying where I am. Sending the narrator off to
New York was his manipulative way of saying you re not welcome here, and giving him seven letters
was just the icing on the cake to making finding success more difficult. The narrator is unable to see
that Dr. Bledsoe is solely doing this for his own benefit and is not looking at the interest of the
narrator. Towards the beginning of the book, we meet a character who is very old school, and as
people say. a

c. Conducting Research
This is perhaps the most important step in the research paper writing process. Your research not only
provides you ethos as a writer by revealing your knowledge and understanding of the topic, but also
will very likely shape both your understanding and interpretation of the topic. Listed below are several
important tips for conducting research and notetaking: * In order to avoid later confusion, begin each
section by recording the author s name, book or article title, and page numbers (if relevant). * As you
examine each source, record important or unique notions which you may wish to incorporate within
your paper. Make certain to outline the general arguments of each source by including a descriptive
heading after the citation. This will aid you in more quickly and easily distinguishing between sources
in the future. Additionally, it may be useful to group sources into categories based on more refined
topics. * In order to diminish the risk of plagiarizing, do NOT directly lift phrasing or entire segments
of the text from sources without properly indicating that you have done so. If you find it necessary to
directly quote an author, clearly indicate what has been copied from the author and record the page
number on which this information can be found. * Remain critical of your sources: Do not assume that
an idea or criticism is valid, because it appears in the argument of a single critic or even multiple

  • 2. Total Quality Management At Kiichiro Toyoda The main pillars in the model resemble the total quality control or total quality management of the company that can best be summarized in this pyramid illustration. Total quality management means that everyone is involved in continuously refining the service to customers with data and profound knowledge. Kiichiro Toyoda made customers a huge priority in his theory. The base of the pyramid consisted of the costs of gaining quality, processing services, testing, tools, and prevention. The second level of the pyramid is involvement, which examines the rewards, acknowledgment, training, empowerment, and partnerships within the company. The third level is leadership that deals with talks about the ownership, management support, and the corporation s mission plan. The next level is culture, which explains the values and continuous improvement made by the employees. Finally the top of the pyramid is total quality management, which encompasses the main goal of being a customer driven company. Toyoda s primary viewpoints in his system embrace the theories of just in time and Jidoka. Just in time (JIT) focuses on productivity improvement with the main idea being, making only what is needed, when it is needed, and in the amount needed . Were they alive today, our Founding Fathers would be greatly appreciative of the changes made to the Constitution as the prospective and needs of our nation evolved over the last several decades. There were many feminist groups that arose during these desperate times, which helped the issue to be recognized. The National American Women Suffrage Association (NAWSA) was formed by two women s suffrage groups, American Woman Suffrage Association and National Woman Suffrage Association which protested with mass marches and hunger strikes (Suffrage, pars. 2 3). The NAWSA influenced other groups to come forward, like the National Council of Negro Women (Rights, par. 5). In 1869, African American men were granted the ballot, but African American women continue with the struggle to voice their opinions (Suffrage, par 2). Women today still struggle in work environments, with sexism and being paid less than men. Women are paid twenty two percent less than men, which according to the Institute for Women s Policy Research will take another forty four years for this gap to be diminished. There was a similar emphasis during the Mexican Revolution. The Mexican Revolution began in November of 1910 and there isn t a universal agreement as to when the revolution ended or what ended it. The initial goal of the revolution was to overthrow General Porfirio Diaz who had been in power for more than 30 years. Diaz rose to power as what most would consider a liberal leader, but contradictory to the anticlericalism of most nineteenth century liberals, he was very close with the Catholic Church and depended on wealthy elites to ensure his political survival. During his time in power, the economics of Mexico rose drastically changing the structure of Mexican classes, which caused uproar. I grabbed my mini stethoscope and hurried downstairs to observe an impressive array of tasks to save lives. Though, I was a child, it was not the first time I had seen a critical patient with a busy medical crew around. I grew up in a hospital where both my parents worked full time. However, the average high schooler simply associates these elements as something used in their chemistry classes. In fact, the elements seen on the periodic table actually have much more to do in our daily lives and in history than most people know. While giving a whole new perspective to the meaning of Chemistry, author Sam Kean successfully recounts the hidden tales through humor and wit in his bestselling novel The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of Elements. In fact, this tale is certainly one where the ending is not detrimental, and in contrary the happy opposite. Essentially, Kean focuses on the idea that these certain elements mentioned in the chapter affected the lives of these mad scientists immensely. For the most part, these elements hurt the careers and lives of some scientists, however this was not the case in all of the stories in this chapter. The examples of selenium crazed Crookes, the false hype of the manganese covered megadaltons, the palladium scandal of Pons and Fleischmann and the startling discovery of the x ray by Roentgen successfully conveyed the central theme and concepts. It is very easy for someone to understand the context filled stories and how they connect to what Kean is trying to establish. Additionally, the author generally maintains a balanced bias throughout the chapter. There are many places in the world today that are not great places to live and grow up but people don t always have a choice. Guns, germs, and steel by Jared Diamond is written with a purpose to discuss and reveal why some societies have so much and others have so little. He explains the theory behind geographical luck and migration. He also talks about how these two things can lead to technology advances. The reason behind the difference of technology and economy advances all begins with the geography and the way that guns, germs, and steel were introduced and how they were introduced. Geography luck is describing how lucky you are with the land that is provided for example the closer to the fertile crescent the better and more resources you will have. People don t understand how big of a help it really is to have a greater supply of resources because by having a selective food resource people are able to store food. Since more food can be stored and saved people can become more dependent on the land continuously providing for them instead of worrying about hunting and gathering. • 16. Analysis Of The Movie From The Dawn Of Film Since the dawn of film, back in 1895, directors and filmmakers utilized every worldly element they could to have not only characters and the plot tell a story to the audience, but so the things that created the atmosphere contribute to the progression of the story as well. Manipulating the mise en scéne, or all of the elements that contribute to the atmosphere or mood of a film, in various degrees such as camera angles, editing technique, lighting, sounds, and color, can shift the mood of a scene and alter the audiences feeling. In most films, light can be symbolic and tell a story in a way that words couldn t. As filmmakers use chiaroscuro, the arrangement of light and shadow to tell a story in a scene or film, to provoke or portray a certain emotion ranging from happiness, relief, sorrow, and even sinister. Sound manipulation enhances these emotions and contributes to the story enough to allow the audience to foreshadow. Examples of this can be found in early films such as Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans, M, and Scarface. In 1932, American filmmaker Howard Hawks produces Scarface: The Shame of a Nation, a film loosely based on Al Capone, a notorious mobster known for the distribution of alcohol during prohibition. The film was made to portray life in America and the violence and brutality of American gang life. Hawk also reveals the dark impulses in man, taking wicked action to achieve what they desire. I will thus try to find whether task complexity is a moderating variable in the relation between incentives and performance and specifically try to find whether this effect differs for individual incentives and team incentives. In some circumstances these theories can lead to quite opposing predictions of the effect of incentives on performance. This thus means that the relationship between incentives and performance may be dependent on the situational circumstances and they do not work in every environment. Specifically in their review of experiments Bonner et al. (2000) find that when the complexity of the task increases (relative to the skill of the participants), the likelihood of observing a positive effect of incentives on performance decrease. Bailey and Fessler (2011) also find that monetary incentives are more effective when the task is less complex. On the other hand in a review of empirical studies on financial incentives and performance Jenkins et al. Furthermore, they find task type is independent of the relation between financial incentives and performance. If the performance on a complex task is more difficult to measure, the agent s effort thus has less influence on the performance measure (more noise, less sensitivity) and the measure is less effective. • 27. The Second And Final Component Of The Flavian Dynasty The third and final component of the Flavian dynasty is Caesar Domitianus Augustus, the self proclaimed God and ruthless dictator who reigned from AD 81 to 96. Domitian is the youngest son of the emperor Vespasian and Flavia Domitilla. He was the less favored son of Vespasian, his father valued his heir to the thrown and Domitian s older brother, Titus. Domitian s youth was largely spent living in the shadows of Titus. As a child Domitian lived on rural land that his father acquired, spending most of his time in his home on Pomegranate Street, which was later turned into a temple of the Flavian family. Domitian spent a degraded childhood consisting of struggles with poverty and infamy. He became accustomed to rural life as a child and when he fled from Rome whenever possible in order to sulk in isolation and stab fireflies. After the death of Vitellius when he was fighting a war up against Vespasian, Domitian gained the title as Ceaser. However, Domitian only held the name as Ceaser, he appointed a colleague to handle all Judicial decisions. In order for Domitian to gain a military reputation that would outshine his brother Titus, he devised a pointless expedition from Gaul to Germany, which was dismissed by his father s friends. As a result, Domitian was reprimanded and failed at gaining a good military reputation. Domitian constantly turned to the idea of competition in order to gain power. An example of this is shown when Domitian wanted to offer soldiers double ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Invisible Man Analysis In the book Invisible Man, it is based in a time period where there is somewhat of a divide between blacks and whites, and because of this lifestyle that was created by society, the main character is caught in the crossfire. The narrator feeling invisible in this world dominated by whites, where he feels he doesn t belong, and is frankly, invisible. The narrator goes to several different parts of the country to use what many people admire about him, his voice. Not in a singing way but in a form of speeches which helps bring attention to some of the societal issues and that not only he has but what many have encountered just like him along their life s journey. During his experiences in New York and finding his way, he is cut out from certain things that tie him back to his version of home, some people, specifically Brother Jack, Mr. Norton, and Dr. Bledsoe and some experiences made it difficult to feel like he was where he belonged, alienating him from certain realms of society. The narrator faces many struggles in the beginning of the book that lead to the idea of exile and the fact that the narrator is perhaps, invisible. Dr. Bledsoe does a good job of manipulating the narrator into thinking he is welcomed at the University early on. You can tell from his personality that he is only in it for himself but acts as though he is thoughtful towards other. You re nobody, son. You don t exist can t you see that? The white folk tell everybody what to think except men like me. I tell them; that s my life, telling white folk how to think about the things I know about... But you listen to me: I didn t make it, and I know that I can t change it. But I ve made my place in it and I ll have every Negro in the country hanging on tree limbs by morning if it means staying where I am. Sending the narrator off to New York was his manipulative way of saying you re not welcome here, and giving him seven letters was just the icing on the cake to making finding success more difficult. The narrator is unable to see that Dr. Bledsoe is solely doing this for his own benefit and is not looking at the interest of the narrator. Conducting Research This is perhaps the most important step in the research paper writing process. Your research not only provides you ethos as a writer by revealing your knowledge and understanding of the topic, but also will very likely shape both your understanding and interpretation of the topic. Listed below are several important tips for conducting research and notetaking: * In order to avoid later confusion, begin each section by recording the author s name, book or article title, and page numbers (if relevant). * As you examine each source, record important or unique notions which you may wish to incorporate within your paper. Make certain to outline the general arguments of each source by including a descriptive heading after the citation. This will aid you in more quickly and easily distinguishing between sources in the future. Additionally, it may be useful to group sources into categories based on more refined topics. * In order to diminish the risk of plagiarizing, do NOT directly lift phrasing or entire segments of the text from sources without properly indicating that you have done so. If you find it necessary to directly quote an author, clearly indicate what has been copied from the author and record the page number on which this information can be found. * Remain critical of your sources: Do not assume that an idea or criticism is valid, because it appears in the argument of a single critic or even multiple ...
