Critical Path Method (CPM) is a network diagramming technique used to predict total project duration and identify the critical path. The critical path is the longest sequence of activities with zero float - it determines the earliest project completion date. In the example network diagram, the critical path is activities A, B, C, F with a total length of 15 time units. Calculating early and late start/finish dates using forward and backward passes identifies float, which indicates how much delay activities on the critical path can experience before delaying the overall project end date.

A presentation on Critical Path Method: Activities And Events, Float/Slacks course of Construction Management from students of 10th Semester Architecture at VNIT, Nagpur (January- April 2018)
In this presentation we have done earlier a project for Phillip Morris (Pakistan) for the access control system and canteen management system. It is the project presentation for our subject Planning and Scheduling. i hope it is the best for the understanding Project planning and scheduling.
CPM- Critical Path Method in Project Management.CPM is a Project Schedule Modeling technique. It manages both the time and cost of the project. CPM is commonly used in conjunction with the Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT).CPM aids in project planning, scheduling, and controlling. For bigger projects, CPM networks can be too complicated
In this chapter, you will learn how to:
✔ Use the Backstage view to open and save Project files.
✔ Work with commands on different tabs of the ribbon interface, the major visual
change introduced in Project 2010.
✔ Use different views to see Project information presented in different ways.
Project Evaluation and Review Technic and Critical Path Method are the effective methods to determining the estimated time for the completion of activities and tasks of a given project.Optimistic time, pessimistic time and most likely time using beta distribution ( bell shaped curve) of Research Methodology.
The critical path method (CPM) is a step-by-step project management technique for process planning that defines critical and non-critical tasks with the goal of preventing time-frame problems and process bottlenecks. The CPM is ideally suited to projects consisting of numerous activities that interact in a complex manner.

Critical path presentation for timely project completionAniruddha Kulkarni
For the project management and timely completion of tasks Working on the critical path seems to be the best advantage since the path calculates the longest route of planned activities to the end of the task or project.
Network Diagrams: It is defined as “the identification of the project objectives and the ordered activity necessary to complete the project including the identification of resource types and quantities required.”

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

2. CPM is a network diagramming technique used
to predict total project duration.
CPM is an analysis technique with three main
purposes:
To calculate the project’s finish date
To indentify to what extent each activity in the
schedule can slip(float) without delaying the
project
To identify the activities with highest risk that
cannot slip without changing the project finish
date2
3. CPM
How does the Critical Path Method calculate the
project’s finish date?
o Forward pass calculation
calculates Early Start and Early Finish dates
o Backward pass calculation
calculates Late Start and Late Finish dates
3
4. Early Start (ES) is the earliest date a task can
start
Early Finish (EF) is the earliest date a task can
be completed
Late Start (LS) is the latest date a task can start
without delaying the project and date
Late Finish (LF) is the latest date a task can
finish without delaying the project end date
4
6. • Early Start (ES) = Latest related early date of all
immediate predecessors
ES= immediate Predecessors’ ES max
Early finish (EF) = Early Start + Duration
EF= ES + D

9. The purpose of backward pass is to find the float.
Float is the amount of time an activity can be
delayed or lengthened. Also called slack.
Total float: the amount of time an activity can be
delayed or extended without extending the overall
project’s completion time

16. Why floats are important in the critical path
method?
If an activity has a TF=0, what does this mean?
Floats determine thee criticality of an activity
Critical activities have the least amount of Float
Floats determine the critical path

19. Critical Path Method (CPM)
CPM is a network diagramming technique used
to predict total project duration
A critical path for a project is the series of
activities that determines the earliest time by
which the project can be completed
The critical path is the longest path through the
network diagram and has the least amount of
slack or float
Slack or float is the amount of time an activity
may be delayed without delaying a succeeding
activity or the project finish date
19
20. Calculating the Critical Path
First develop a good network diagram
Add the duration estimates for all activities on
each path through the network diagram
The longest path is the critical path
If one or more of the activities on the critical path
takes longer than planned, the whole project
schedule will slip unless the project manager
takes corrective action
