Norris, 475 N.E.2d 1167, 1170 (Ind. Ct. App. 1985). The bartender, Mr. John Daniels did not have
any definite awareness of Mr. Hard s intoxication. Mr. Daniels is not able to recall any unusual
behavior that was displayed by Mr. Hard. He does not have any reclamation of observing Mr.
Edward Hard tripping over the pool stick because he had stepped away from the room. He did
witness an argument start at the entrance doorway between Mr. Bruno White and Mr. Edward
Hard in which Mr. Hard provoked. There were no additional drinks served after the altercation took
place, the final alcoholic beverage had been ordered and served prior to the incident and therefore
is not said to be actual knowledge. The last drink is the cutoff point for the statue and where the
definite ruling intervenes. The process is in order to try and obtain an abstract opinion from Mr.
John Daniels stating that he had no familiarity of Mr. Hard being drunk. When Mr. Edward Hard
left the O Malley s Tavern he followed Mr. Bruno White in a careless manner, damaging numerous
vehicles and consequently hitting Mr. White s automobile and killing him. The direct aim of Mr.

Westward Expansion Dbq Analysis
American Expansion DBQ Americans expanded their country in two different eras throughout
history: American imperialism and westward expansion. During both of these eras, the mid late
1800s and the early 1900s, Americans believed that expansion was necessary and beneficial. To a
great extent, late nineteenth century and early twentieth century United Statesexpansionism was a
continuation of past United States expansionism and to a lesser extent was it a departure. The
similarities and differences between American Imperialism in the early 1900s and Manifest
Destiny in the mid late 1800s are shown through political, economic, and moral motives of
America and its government. America wanted to establish itself as a global and political power on
the same level as major European nations. Germany, Britain and Russia pilfered through Africa and
Asia with their grab bags , believing that they can have and claim a piece of the world,... Show more

Resources such as sugar, coal, minerals, and other exotic natural assets caught the eyes of
American businessmen. According to Senator Albert J. Beveridge, the Pacific was the ocean of
the commerce of the future (document E). This is similar to how America saw the west as an
opportunity for farming and starting a new, prosperous life. Americans flocked to the Caribbean s
for resources just like they did to the west in the California gold rush and other parts of America
when valuable resources were available, such as iron ore and furs. While Americans were seeking
new economic opportunities and profits through expansion, the results of these two instances
different. Imperialism resulted in the rise as well as from the rise of big businesses such as the
Dole Fruit Company and trade overseas with new markets, while westward expansion saw growth
in new industries, smaller businesses, and domestic

Nuclear Fission Impact
The Impact of Nuclear Fission and Reactors on the Environment
Overview
Nuclear fission is a reaction in which heavy nuclei, such as Uranium and Plutonium, are broken into
smaller nuclei releasing heat, which is transformed into another form of energy such as, mechanical
or electrical. For a long time people have been using nuclear fission as an efficient and sustainable
source of energy. However, the use of this form of energy is associated with a unique set of
consequences including environmental, social and ethical. In this paper I will discuss nuclear
energy and its impact on the environment.
History of Nuclear Fission (Reactors)
The discovery of nuclear energy goes back to 1980, when Henri Becquerel was investigating
phosphorescent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are tow types of waste produced from nuclear fission: high level waste and low level waste.
High level waste consists of used uranium rods that can no longer be used for energy or produced
into other elements. The majority of low level waste consists of water and used equipment from
the nuclear reactors. Both types of waste are highly toxic and it was estimated that about
200,000 cubic meters of low level waste and about 10,000 cubic meters of high level waste are
produced world wide each year. These wastes are usually encapsulated in multi layer containers
that are buried in deep geological areas (Figure 5). According to the European Union (EU)
calculation, the disposal of low level waste costs about $2,200/ cubic meters and high level waste
costs over $100,000/ cubic meters annually (Storage and Disposal, 2015).
In addition to the cost, these wastes may affect future generation by escaping into the environment
due to natural phenomena such as earthquakes and tsunamis. Therefore the authorities should set
stringent rules and regulations regarding nuclear programs to improve nuclear safety and enhance
risk management (Xiang,

Greek Myth Of Icarus
The Greek myth of Icarus goes as follows. In ancient Greece, there was a brilliant inventor named
Daedalus. This man had a son named Icarus. They both lived on the island of Crete, which was
ruled by a tyrant named King Minos. Wanting to escape from island with his son to avoid King
Mino s wrath, Daedalus invented wings to fly across the sea with. As the only means of escape,
Daedaluswarned his son to neither fly too high to the sun and too low to the sea. As the two made
their escape, Icarushad forgotten his father s warning. He enjoyed the feeling of flying too much
and soared higher and higher towards the sun. Eventually, he came too close to the sun and his
wings melted. He plummeted towards the earth, where he fell to the sea and drowned. Stricken
with grief at the loss of his son, Daedalus built a temple to the god Apollo and offered the wings he
made as tribute.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Daedalus was a genius, his invention invaded a domain that belonged solely to the gods. In
Greek mythology, only the Gods were allowed to fly. I believe it was also a lesson in humility. The
warning Daedalus gave Icarus about flying too high could be analogous with knowing your limits
or not wanting too much. However, in a painting done by Bruegel on the subject of Icarus, he paints
the whole ordeal rather as insignificant. A religious man that lived in the 16th century, Bruegel s
painting downplays the Greek gods in that they are only mythical and that the punishment Icarus
receives was neither important nor divine. I think this illustrates that while myths may just be
fantasy stories to amuse ourselves with, at one point they were someone else s religion. It s not a
stretch of the imagination to think that no religion is immune from

it. You can consult with your doctor about how to manage it. Knowing as much as you can about
the condition, can help you understand how to live with it. Asthma affects people of all ages, more
than 22 million people are known to have asthma, and about 6 million are childrenSigns and
symptoms of asthma is shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing chest tightness. People that have

character that became an icon of pop culture and women in general. American politics from the

that more than a decade of strife , influenced heavily the shaping of Wonder Woman. Diana of

world to the land of the free and home of the brave. Politics in the United States is one of those
topics that can have several meanings depending on who is defining it, thus because many things
can influence the person who is defining it. In this case, it is to be avoided at all costs definitions
or words that are hard enough to pronounce, that is for the analysts, and political science
professors, as it has been scientifically proven that learning is more captivating when it is tied
with something or someone we know or have seen before. First we are going to start off, by
mentioning some of the outstanding political sections from that time period, before we get to the
influence it had on the creation of Wonder Woman. Woodrow Wilson had been elected as president

Stress And Its Effect On Stress Essay
Stress s definition according to college text book Psychology in my life, stress is; a group of
behavioral, mental and physical processes occurring when events match or exceed the organism

that s only negative, but stress in moderation can be good. This type of stress is known as being
acute stress, it s good and bad stress. When frequently experiencing acute stress for long periods
at a time it s becomes a little more sever stress know as episodic. Although episodic stress isn t the

are plenty of ways to cope with stress in a healthy way before it s too late.
Stress is a part of our everyday lives. Theorists William James and Carl Lange, 19th century

experiences arousal from and event, the automatic nervous system (A.N.S.) reacts by making the
heart beat faster, increase perspiration, and muscle tensions. The brains interpretation to that is an

LM Potencies:
Lm potencies are known as a fast, gentle and long lasting cure. Homeopaths use lm potencies to
treat hypersensitive patients mainly because they are more gentle. Lm potencies speed up the
cure of patients as well as lessen the aggravations. Hahnemann felt that centicimal potencies
caused too much of an aggravation which lead to a patient suffering. Lm potencies are made by
diluting a remedy in a ratio of 1 to 50000 at each step, while still succussing at 100. Due to the fast
that the succussions are low, the aggravations will be low and because it is diluted so many times it
increases the strength of the remedy. Lm potencies penetrate at a deep mental and emotional level.

Some say it s the remedy that matches the patients totality of symptoms for a chronic condition with
emphasis on their personality and temperament. Others say that it s the remedy that matches the
patients individual type and it is a life long remedy and no matter what condition a person gets, this
remedy will cure the acute condition. Some say that the innate constitution is what the person is
made of on a mental, emotional, and physical level, but it is not necessarily the remedy that will
cure the persons current condition.
Each constitution is associated with certain remedies. Each constitution has a typical chronic
remedy, however a strong traumatic incident can impose a layer on a patient of any constitution.
Constitutional types have both a light and a dark side depending on life events and circumstances.
Homeopathy helps to restore children to health, to overcome their weekness and to get them

chronic diseases later on in their lives. The greatest protection is when all of the layers are

Introduction
I.September 11 was a pivotal day that changed the world s opinion on the safety of air travel.
A.If surveyed pre 9/11, the average person would have said they felt airport security was adequate.
B.However, 13 years later the security debate continues as to whether we do enough to protect the
passengers, or if flying is any safer than it was before the terrorist attack.
II.Everyone wants flying to be safe, but the question is what is each person willing to invest for
their safety.
A.Is there a proper balance of time and money?
B.When does a security screen become an invasion of privacy?
C.Should passenger profiling be allowed?
III.With my mother working for the airlines, I have been exposed to all of the airline regulations
from being a frequent traveler since a very young age.
A.I travel far more than the average person, and have been through a variety of security protocols
not only in various domestic cities but many countries all over the world.
B.I have noticed vast differences between different airport s securities, and wanted to further
research the two different sides of the airport security debate.
IV.Therefore, I would like to present the different sides of having stricter airport security as well as
some of the arguments about recent implications of policies post 9/11.
A.After hearing the different sides of the debate, I hope to hear some of your opinions regarding
the topic.

Myelin Essay
Myelin is a fatty sheath that coats nerve cells. It consists of about 70% lipids. In the central
nervous system, it is made of oligodendrocytes. One oligodendrocyte can myelinate many axons. In
the peripheral nervous system, myelin is made of a Schwann cell. One Schwann cell can myelinate
only one axon. Oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells form myelinby wrapping around the axon.
The myelin sheath is a good insulator. It also creates low capacitance. This means that fewer ions
are needed to charge and discharge the membrane of the axon. Myelin also clusters ions channels
between myelin sheaths. These clusters are called nodes of Ranvier.
Myelin allows the action potential of myelinated axons to travel further than unmyelinated axons
with the same diameter. Because the myelin sheath is a good insulator, within myelinated segments
of the axon, there is a high resistance to ion flow in and out of the axon. As a result, there is little
charge leakage within the myelinated segments of the axon. This allows for the action potential to
travel longer distances. From an evolutionary perspective, this allowed for ... Show more content on

Within the myelinated segments of axon, charge flows passively and quickly from one node of
Ranvier to another. The time consuming process of propagating an action potential occurs at the
ions channels. Myelinated axons do not have ions channels spanning the entire axon. Instead, they
are clustered only at the nodes of Ranvier. So, the time consuming propagation of action potentials
is limited to small segments in the axon. This allows the action potential to move quickly.
Therefore, a myelinated axon can conduct a faster action potential than an unmelinated axon with
the same diameter. This allows for faster information integration and response in organisms with
myelinated axons (compared to organisms with unmyelinated axons of the same

History of Skateboarding Essay
Skateboarding has rich history of innovation and is full of intriguing stories. Many of these
stories are documented in this book in great detail. However, this essay will provide you with an
overview of the last nine decades. The first type of skateboards were actually more like scooters.
These contraptions, which date back to the early 1900 s featured roller skate wheels attached to
a two by four. Often the wood had a milk crate nailed to it with handles sticking out for control.
Over the next five decades kids changed the look of the scooter and took off the crate and started
cruising on two by fours with steel wheels. Tens of thousands of rollerskates were dismantled and
joyfully hammered on to planks of wood. In the 1950 s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The manufacturers were so busy making product that little was done in the way of research and
development. Although some companies developed better quality wheels, clay wheels were the
cheapest to manufacturer. However, clay wheels did not grip the road well and skaters fell
everywhere. Cities started to ban skateboards in response to health and safety concerns and after
a few fatal accidents, skateboarding was drummed out of existence (for the time being at least!).
Manufacturers like Vita Pakt and Makaha lost enormous amounts of money due to canceled
orders for the Christmas season. Over the next eight years, skateboarding remained fairly
underground, showing up only in areas like Santa Monica, California. During this period Larry
Stevenson invented the kicktail and tried to resurrect skateboarding but he met with only a small
amount of success. In 1970, a surfer by the name of Frank Nasworthy visited a friend at a
plastics factory in Purcellville, Virginia. The factory made urethane wheels for Roller Sports, a
chain of roller rinks. The urethane ensured roller skaters would have decent traction and Frank
realized that the urethane wheels would fit on his Hobie Skateboard. He decided to develop a
skateboard wheel made from urethane. As you would expect, the ride is magnificant compared to
clay wheels. Frank promoted the product in the San Diego

Contrast Sensitivity Function
SPA Lab 4: CONTRAST SENSITIVITY FUNCTION
Ciara Dubose
University of Central Oklahoma
Abstract
The purpose for this experiment is to determine at which spatial frequency does a participant s
visual acuity for a contrast sensitivity function display a peak performance across different sine
wave gratings. The ability to contrast sensitivity is useful in everyday life, more than people
imagine. These contrast sensitivity functions focus primarily on the participants ability to detect
accurately the presence of a sine wave grating across different levels of contrast. The one way
repeated participants design indicated there was a reliable effect of spatial frequency on contrast
sensitivity. The conclusions of this experiment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Participants seeking to measure the contrast sensitivity over differing spatial frequencies used the
instructions as a guide to perform this experiment. The experiment implored the use of a computer
to display the screen images necessary to test the ability of participants contrast sensitivity. The
standard computer keyboard was necessary to allow the participants to indicate the order that the
target stimulus is present. This particular experiment used a random order showing the target
stimulus in different orders to allow the participant the ability to test their contrast sensitivity to the
differing spatial frequencies.
Design
This experiment used a one way within participants design. The independent variable for this
experiment is the differing factors of the spatial frequencies. The first condition in the experiment
used a spatial frequency with a sine wave grating of four; the second condition used a spatial
frequency with a sine wave grating of eight; the third condition used 16; the fourth condition used
32; the last condition used 64. The dependent variable for this experiment that measured the
participants visual acuity is contrast sensitivity. This experiment measured the contrast thresholds
for differing sine wave gratings among participants and compared them across the five factors of the
independent variable.
Procedure
The participants asked to perform a task involving the ability to determine the presence of a

Theme Of Idealism In Twelfth Night
Idealism is the group of philosophies which assert that reality, or reality as we can know it, is
fundamentally mental, mentally constructed, or otherwise immaterial. Idealism emphasizes how
human ideas especially beliefs and values shape society. Essentially, it is any philosophy which
argues that the only thing actually knowable is consciousness, whereas we never can be sure that
matter or anything in the outside world really exists. Thus, the only real things are mental entities,
not physical things. Idealism could include many religious viewpoints, although an Idealistic
viewpoint need not necessarily include God, supernatural beings, or an existence after death.

First is the perception of idealistic love. One of the part of the story that shows idealism upon
love is the love of the character Orsino to Lady Olivia. Let us first describe the idealistic
character of woman Olivia. Olivia is a beautiful lady of noble birth who lives in Illyria. Because
he is described as a noble, Olivia maybe a very beautiful, gorgeous, attractive, prepossessing
woman. That is why Orsino fell in love with her. In the story, Orsino lies around listening to
music, pining away for the love of Lady Olivia. He show to Olivia how deep and passionate his
love for her. However, Olivia refuse the love of orsino for her, because olvia pines away for her
dead brother, and refuses to entertain any proposals of marriage. Because of that occurrence,
Orsino become very depressed and frustrated. This case shows the idealism of a particular person
to a particular thing can be neutral, either he will get what he want, or worst case he will be
rejected. Orsino is a duke, he is a hansome and a good looking man, so expected that his ideal girl
be just like what he is like. Nevertheless, the idea of idealism is take over by reality. The reality
that not all our pleasure wish or even our ideals cannot be real. According to Anaxagoras, that all

Why I Am Researching A Construction Worker
Kyle Smith
Mrs. Lozares
English II
15 February 2017
Construction Worker 1.The career that I am researching is a construction worker. I am interested
in this occupation because ever since I was a little kid, construction seemed like it would be
something that might be fun. It also would be cool to see a building slowly rise, or even fall. That
is why I am researching a construction worker. 2.There are many responsibilities for this career.
Those responsibilities consist of building, demolishing, cleaning an area for preparation of building
something. You may also be digging holes or operating heavy machinery on this job. Some of the
large machinery or tools that construction workers use are saws, drills, blowtorches and
jackhammers. You... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

9.There could be some specific abilities that can help you in this occupation. One of them could
possibly be strength. This could be a quality that could help you because of the things you would
have to lift on the job such as bags of concrete, or maybe some stones that need to be clear in
order to start building. Another quality could be the knowledge to save money. There are
positions for construction workers that are meant specifically to help the company that you are
working for to save money. If you know ways to get around expensive things and get supplies or
anything else that could be costly, then this would be a good position to have that knowledge.
The ability to drive heavy machinery in this occupation would be extremely important for this
occupation. The reason it would be so important for this type of career is because there is a lot of
need for vehicles like this. These vehicles are used for all sorts of things in construction from
digging holes, dumping dirt, transporting rocks or dirt to or from the construction site, and even
pouring concrete. These are a few of the specific abilities that could help me on the job.
11.There are some limiting factors that go with being a construction worker. The first one is that
there could be some long hours. Depending on how many workers, the project, and the weather,
there could be some quite long hours involved in this type of job. Another limiting factor is the
chance of a disease. There are many

Personal Narrative Reflection
My third visit to Mrs. Casanova s class has thus far been my most productive, in terms of
applying something I have learned both from this class and UCF in general. With the end of the
middle of the second nine weeks rapidly approaching so too are classroom summative
assignments. During my visit on the twentieth I was able to both see the test creation process in a
PLC and participate in the creation of some questions. Two of the three teacher I have been able to
spend time with in the classroom, the first being in internship and the second, Mrs. Casanova with
service learning. Both teachers employ direct instruction as their primary means of conveying
information, with Mrs. Casanova using it more than the honors and AP teachers. However, within
the PLC the test questions were being created for all classes, rather than having separate questions
for AP, honors, and regular classes, with the only difference being the written response questions
being more challenging in upper classes. Due to this, content evidence was very important,
especially for the upper classes, as they technically would be getting the same test as a regular.
Beyond this however, the instruction leading up to the test also had to be evaluated as the questions
were made with AP in mind. According to the book, content evidence connects to state standards
and what the students need to know based off this, which should be reflected within the instruction
(pg. 396).
One thing UCF does a great job of is

Pros And Cons Of Caging Hens
Caging hens is unacceptable and a barbaric way of keeping animals. In New Zealand, 80% of
hens are currently suffering in battery cages, living an unnatural lifestyle. This inhumane way
of farming has to stop as it s detrimental to the rights of hens and all animals to live and be treated
without cruelty and I believe it is simply unjust. Not only are these defenseless Hens killed, they
are also denied the right to move and walk, are arguably tortured and will never spread their
wings. The ban of battery cages needs to take a stronger stance as the phasing out of battery
cages by 2022 serves only to make way for colony cages which are just as cruel. Colony cages fail
to meet the welfare of Hens and don t provide them with the sufficient space they need. They re

I believe that the cost is well worth it because the welfare of animals is very important. The raise
in egg and poultry prices will have an impact on families all over New Zealand unless the
government subsidises the abolishment of battery farming and colony cages. If the government
continues to keep the prices the same as they are now while making NZ farms free range it will
be a win/win situations for both the welfare of animals and humans. The change in egg prices
may not be as drastic for Kiwi families as I have found there is just a mere $0.24 difference
between a single size 7 factory farmed egg and free range eggs at countdown. Is a couple of
dollars per dozen eggs really worth the exploitation of hens? Caged eggs may be cheaper but it
comes at the expense of Animal welfare. New Zealand needs to abolish not only battery cages but
colony cages also. The effects these farming methods have on hens is undeniably disgusting and
needs to be stopped. In order for us to ensure farmers are treating their hens ethically, routinely
checks and stricter rules need to be

Periods of Greek Art
Greek art has changed throughout the years, yet some basic forms have remained. Time,
technique, as well as historical events have helped shape the way art has evolved since 600 B.C.
Three important periods in Greek art are the Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic periods. We will
discuss how art has changed throughout these periods, what influences led to change, as well as
why it changed. We will also discuss what has remained constant through these periods. Since
people s perceptions and taste of art are different, some would say that art has become better with
time, whereas others would say the opposite, but nonetheless, it has evolved. The Archaic period
dates from 800 B.C. to 480 B.C. The Greeks were inspired by monumental stone sculptureof Egypt
and Mesopotamia, sculpting in stone began in Greece. However, although this was inspired by
Egypt, there were significant differences between how they were sculpted. For instance, take the
Greek sculpture Kouros (c 580 B.C. made of marble, standing at 6 4 tall) the standing male nude.
While this resembled characteristics of Egypt sculptures such as pose and proportion, his form
becomes more dynamic as the sculpture is nude. Kouros also appears to wear jewelry around his
neck and the exquisite detail in the braids of his hair suggest he is groomed and dressed properly.
Another difference in Egypt and Greek sculptures, is that Egypt s sculptures depict rulers and
people of higher stature, where Greek sculptures would depict

Critical Analysis Of The Game Of Love And Chance
The Game of Love and Chance is a play written by Pierre de Marivaux (1688 1763), who is a
French novelist and dramatist that is now considered one of the best French playwrights of the
eighteenth century. He has written over thirty plays that focus more towards romantic comedy.
Marivaux was born in Paris, France on February 4th, 1688, and deceased on February 12th, 1963 in
Paris. The game of Loveand Chance (also called Le Jeu de l amour et du hasard in French), is a
romantic comedygenre, and the main subject of it is love. It was first performed on the 23rd of
January 1730 at the Comedie Italienne, where Marivaux s plays were mostly performed.
Originally, in 1697, the theatre Comedie Italienne was shut down due to offensive contents, and
the companies were banished from France. However, in 1716, the companies were permitted
back to France, and from there, the companies focused on the works of French playwrights, more
specifically on Pierre de Marivaux s plays. An important category that The Game of Love and
Chance belongs to is comedy of manners, which means a comedy that satirizes behavior in a
particular social group, especially the upper classes . The play used comedy in order to explore the
political issues of class and satirized behaviors. The play is about assumed identity, the ultimate
triumph of true love, and the tyranny of social taboos. The play also considers the social status and
the importance it played in the eighteenth century courtship and marriage.

Anti Gun Policy
Gun policy is unlike any other form of public policy. The topic is rich in content, stemming

Unlike may forms of public policy, most everyone seems to have a set opinion when it comes to
policies regarding guns. Many people focus on a desire to regulate guncommerce, possession, and
use, with most policy proposals engendering intense controversy. America is distinct from other
advanced nations because it is one of the only countries wherein the right to bear arms is
constitutionally protected. America s relationship with guns, by the numbers, is unique in a tragic
way. On an average day, 93 Americans are killed with guns and American s gun homicide

While the constitution does guarantee a right to bear arms it is still open to interpretation as to
whether it the guarantee is in place to protect private property or to be a part of a militia

that goes back to the founding of the country and like freedom of speech, the right to bear arms is
a passionate part of the ethos of the country. Therefore any attempt to regulate or denigrate that
right will be seen by some as an attack on the constitution. The most practical way to balance this
right with the practicality of today s weapons, which are much more lethal than a musket of the

Informative Speech On Water
Speech Paloma
Water covers 70% of our planet, and it is easy to think that it will always be plentiful. However,
freshwater, what we drink, bathe in, irrigate our farm fields with makes up only 3% of the world
s water, and two thirds of that is stored in frozen glaciers or unavailable for our use. Many of the
water systems that keep ecosystems thriving and feed a growing human population have become
stressed. Rivers, lakes and aquifers are drying up or becoming too polluted to use. Already, 80
countries suffer from water shortages that threaten health and economies while 40 percent of the
world more than 2 billion people does not have access to clean water or sanitation
We usually associate water shortages with a lack of drinking water, but global water scarcity has a
critical impact on food security. Agriculture consumes more water than any other source. Climate
change is altering patterns of weather around the world, causing shortages and droughts in some
areas and floods in others. Water is key to food security. Crops and livestock need water to grow.
Agriculture requires large quantities of water for irrigation and various production processes. Water
scarcity may limit food production and supply, putting pressure on food prices and increasing
countries dependence on food imports
Less water means farming and other crops that need water to grow have lower yield. Water is
needed to ensure food security, to feed livestock, and to conserve the biodiversity and environment.
Australia
With the growing population of the world, demand for food is increasing. This means that
Australian farmers are struggling to provide enough food for the global market, and clean water
for irrigation is as important as ever. In Australia, agriculture is the largest consumer of water,
representing around 70% of our total annual water consumption. Australia is a major exporter of
food, particularly wheat and beef, to the rest of the world. In 2009, 60% of Australia s agricultural
produce was exported overseas. Overall meat production is expected to double by 2050, meaning
that even more pressure will be put on the Australian meat industry. Recent droughts have meant
that less water has been allocated to irrigating crops,

Marijuana Should Be Banned Marijuana
Cannabis, otherwise known as marijuana, is a way of preparing the marijuana plant so that it can
be used as medicine or a psychoactive drug. It is the most extensively banned drug in Britain.
However, many local societies and organizations advocate a reform of its validity. These include
NORML UK, UKCSC DrugEquality Alliance, as well as CannabisLaw Reform. Other societies
such as the Centre for Social Justice and Skunk Sense argue in favour of cannabis remaining illegal
(UK Government, 2014).
There is a widespread belief that Queen Victoria used cannabis to help relieve menstrual pain. It
was also used for other purposes: for instance, as food additives, or as clothing material. Cannabis
and its products have historically been so popular in Britain that its use remains a problem among
the country s citizens.
Nevertheless, the United Kingdom shows that a liberal approach to policy helps to reduce
cannabis use in the country. In mid 2003, Britain efficiently changed its rules about cannabis,
giving police officers the opportunity, do not use police alarms for criminals who have been
caught for the first time of possession of cannabis (for personal use). Earlier, the accused judged in
court. But now, police have warned the culprits directly on the street. All the warnings are recorded
in the private affair, but it is not for the trial in court (Turnbull, 2009; Warburton, May and Hough,
2005).

Creon s Determination In Sophocles Antigone
Antigone is a play by Sophocles which embellishes the rivalry between Creon who stands for the
state values and Antigone who stands for family values, the start at the end of a battle between
Polyneices and Eteocles, brothers of Antigone and Ismene. The two siblings kill each other, and
this makes Creon new king of Thebes. Moreover, Creongladdens trueness above anything else, and
he cannot stand disloyalty or watch at the state rules being broken mainly by a woman. Contrarily,
Antigonecherishes personal conscience and love for her brother which transcends state laws
irrespective of any situation that befall her. Antigone s incredible brevity makes her deserve our
admiration for her resolve and determination, (Goheen, Robert F page 45). In this essay, I will
exemplify some of the reasons as to why Antigone really ought to have our admiration for her
resolve as well as determination. In addition to this, I will conclude by giving my views based on
the entire essay.
Main discussion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Antigone bewails Creon s order that anyone who attempts to mourn or bury Polyneices must be
stoned to death. Some argue that Antigone ought to be the chief protagonist. To buttress this point,
they argue that her name is used as the title of the play. However, what they fail to consider is that
Sophocles intentions in the play were to highlight Antigone and her soon to be a deadly clash with
Creon hence the fundamental title, Antigone. Analytically speaking, Creon does to be regarded
Tragic hero instead of Antigone. There is no doubt as to the ultimate nature of the work, that being
tragedy. Along the play s genre comes specific developed prerequisites and Creon is the only
character in the play that substantially fits them all, (Goheen, Robert F page

The Coin Is A Man With No Political Experience Whatsoever
During this election cycle, America witnessed a plethora of pantsuits. Ranging from teal to lilac,
speech after speech, debate after debate, Hillary Clinton the Democratic Presidential Candidate
painted a picture of professionalism and composure in her pantsuit. After the primaries, her poise
only seemed to double, not of her own accord, but because of her opponent s (intentional or
unintentional, who knows) attitude and mannerisms.
In a situation like this, one would think that most American citizens would go through a
relatively easy decision making process: on one side of the metaphorical coin is a woman with
a lifetime of service and political expertise. On the other side of the coin is a man with no
political experience whatsoever, whose entire platform revolves around a mantra of sorts, Make
America Great Again, without any true substance or concrete policy proposals. For lack of a
better description, this election cycle seemed almost like a formality; the path to victory for
Hillary Clinton was basically paved in gold. In a way, it almost seemed like a mockery of the
system.
Everything was fun and games, that is, until the American people through the Electoral College
managed to pick the less qualified candidate, Donald Trump. As such, the question arises: how
exactly did Hillary Clinton, being one of the most qualified candidates to ever run for president,
lose the election? Was hatred of Hillary Clinton the true reason she lost the election? Or rather, was

High School Diploma Is Necessary
Introduction.
Occupations that typically require a bachelor s degree or higher for an entry level position will

Haircut Saga Case Study
Delving into the Trinity Grammar haircut saga, during the crisis phase, there are several concerns
which enraged the stakeholders, namely the School Council s decision to sack Brown, its passive
attitude, and empty promises. While the trigger event was unstable, the suddenness and negativity
impacted attribution. Using the three attribution dimension, the Trinity Grammar haircut saga dons
a high personal control, low external control, and a locus in the actor which could strengthen the
perception of intentional actions by the School Council (Coombs 2004, p. 268). To interpret the
situation, crisis communicators should resort to the assessment of crisis type in order to correctly

Pros And Cons Of Agricultural Subsidies
In late 1920, early 1930 s, the government of the United States of America (USA) first initiated
efforts to control the agricultural economy during the great depression. During that period of time,
farm prices collapsed and therefore farmers hardly had any income. Subsidies are benefits given
by the state to specific groups needing financial aid in form of cash or tax reduction. Subsidies are
often considered to be in the interest of the general public. Agricultural subsidies therefore exist to
stabilize food prices, ensure a healthy food production, guaranteeing a farmer s basic income and in
general to strengthen the agricultural part of the economies gross domestic product (GDP)
(encyclopedia.com, agricultural subsidies). In reality however,... Show more content on

Since there are farmers with more financial opportunities, smaller farms would suffer from the
inequality that would be present, as they can not afford high priced equipment and machinery to
expand their production or to even invest in new crops. However, when the government decides on
subsidies, especially the smaller farms profit from the extra cash, as they can now afford to keep
up with the competition. This means that subsidies enable the smaller farms to produce at an
optimal level of production. Therefore, financial aids by the state also aim to prevent that there is a
monopoly of one farmer since a monopoly would damage the whole agricultural industry. In
contrast to monopoly, competition plays an important role, not only in the agricultural, but in any
industry. A healthy competition leads to a variety of products the consumer can choose from at an
affordable price since a high contestability leads to prices going down to average cost at some point
because of the constant undercutting in

Database Vs. Relational Database Model
One size fits all. The developers go to for all data. You need only a relational database. This is the
false assumption that you will see when it comes to database models. The relational database
model is great for data that normally can fit into a table, or shows relationships between data, but
not all data falls into that category. There are a few options for these situations. You can use an
object oriented database, a hierarchical database, a network database, and a flat file database. The
first alternative is known as the object oriented. In a document oriented database model, each
individual record, and all of the data associated with that record, is thought of as a document. In
this type of database, everything that is related to a database object, or document, is grouped
together. This keeps the database organized, and easier to find things that are related to each other.
Each document is encoding data in some format or encoding. The most common formats include
XML, JSON and BSON. These are just some of the formats available, but these seem to be the
most popular formats that are being used.
A document can have single, or even multiple fields. These fields can vary from document to
document, which gives each document a lot of flexibility. There is no need to worry about
constraints, like we see in our relational database, but validation documents can be made to enforce
rules as needed. This type of database can typically accept multiple languages, instead of just

Conflict Between Joseph And His Brothers
One of the inherent conflicts in the story of Joseph is the tension between Joseph and his
brothers. The tension between them is caused by both Jacob and Joseph. First, Jacob shows
favoritism toward Joseph, because he is the son of his favorite wife Rachel. Second, Joseph brings
back bad reports when he is out pasturing with his brothers. However, what truly increased the
hatred and jealousy was the Joseph s dreams. The author notes that when Joseph recounts the
dreams, they hated him even more (Gen. 37:8). Their jealousy for Joseph is strong enough that
they are willing to murder him. However, they decide to instead sell him into slavery, and convince
Jacobthat he was killed.
A greater conflict is later revealed later in the story. Joseph is brought before Pharaoh to interpret
his dream, and he reveals that after seven years of plenty, a severe famine will engulf the land so
that the seven years of plenty will be forgotten. In order to prepare for the famine, Pharaoh must
appoint someone to oversee the storing and rationing of the food in Egypt. Since Joseph
interpreted the dream that the magicians and wisemen of Egypt could not, Pharaoh made Joseph
second in command over all of Egypt. Through Joseph Egypt is well prepared for the famine.
These two main conflicts are interdependent in the Story of Joseph. Without the tension between
Joseph and his brothers, Joseph would have never been able to interpret Pharaoh s dream, and
Egypt (and Joseph s family) would have not

Judging by the data, one would most likely conclude that an enhanced proportion of military
consumption promotes growth.
Deger and Sen (1995) claim that there is a minimal number of definitive empirical results and
provide conceptual reasons for these results. They focus on concepts such as causality and
simultaneity that may have affected the results. Suggestions to resolve this flaw consisted of a
mixed time series, which was used by Macnair, Murdoch Pi and Sandler (1995) to achieve
positive findings for a small number of NATO countries. The results vary and Ram (1995) surveys
the discussions of the various research approaches.
A fundamental issue with the combination of cross section studies across countries with time
series studies of a single country is that there is no market price for military output and the factor
payments are funded by civilian tax revenue. Deger and Sen (1995) produce a more appropriate
model which takes into account the nature of the public good provided by military security and
the need for it to be publicly funded. Viewing defence expenditure as a public good enables
researchers to take into account a range of interactions between military expenditure and economic
growth. The interactions considered are a) increased security, which directly improves social

The New Deal National Socialism Summary
In John A. Garraty s The New Deal, National Socialism, and the Great Depression , Garraty
relates the Civilian Conservation Corps, or CCC, to nazi work camps, saying the two parallel
each other as a tool to curb unemployment with a military education at their core1. However, the
comparison of these programs is unfeasible as the CCC s mission and methods of carrying out
said mission were far less sinister and much more beneficial to its volunteers. The CCC prided
itself on working for the common good, and the benefits it provided to those who partook. Relating
this program to the harsh, deplorable camps established to build an army for hitler is obscene when

The CCC provided workers with all the essentials they needed in their time at the camp, be it

families, around $25 $30 a month7, rather then having to spend it during their stay. This payment
was a huge incentive to teenagers who wanted to help their families, as they could now help pay

The Pros And Cons Of Roe Vs. Wade
Roe vs. Wade changed the law for abortions, and made women feel more secure if they can t
handle a child. The idea for future laws is to ensure that women maintain power over their
bodies, but do not dominate over the law and use exceptions for abortion. The problem is that
pro choice women and pro life women have many clashing ideas that make it hard to organize
one final law. Pro choice women believe that abortions should be allowed to a certain extent.
SOme even believe it can be a form of birth control, and that there should be no limit of uses. Pro
life women do not agree with the idea of abortion, and think it is crossing the line of the law, since
it involves a fetus. The facts from articles in use show the contrasting sides of each... Show more

Pro choice women believe in their rights from the Constitution to help defend them, however. The
Constitution protects the women s privacy. The First Amendment, Fourth Amendment, and Ninth
Amendment all give broad, unmentioned privacy on abortions. Since unmentioned, the women
have protection and can control their own bodies (Chinn, ...). They give an extension to privacy
in marriage and procreation/contraception. Pregnancy may also have a toll on some women.
Maternity may cause a poor life for the women in many ways. Mental and physical health may
be damaged with having to care for a baby. Exhaustion can affect mental or physical health and
take away the control women feel. Women need to be able to care for themselves and care for
the tolls that pregnancy may cause. Other women have trouble financially supporting a lifestyle
with a baby involved. They do not want to bring a baby into the world suffering because women
cannot afford one. The states should not force a baby when women cannot care for it financially.
Emotional health is also fragile when pregnant and feeling burdened with a baby. Babies require
much care and some women cannot afford to give it. Some women have trouble caring for
themselves and fell they shouldn t care for a baby if they are not ready. These women feel that just
because they re having sex does not mean they are allowing pregnancy. Many couples precautions
to prevent pregnancy, like condoms or

The Clinical Evolution Of HBV
Introduction
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) remains a major public health problem worldwide that accounts for
significant morbidity and mortality. About one third of the world s population have serological
evidence of past or present hepatitis B virus infection, and more than 350 million people may be
affected by chronic HBV infection (World
Health Organization, 2012).
The clinical evolution of HBV is variable, ranging from mild liver disease to fulminant hepatitis,
cirrhosis, or hepatocellular carcinoma (Kennedy and Alexopoulos,
2010).
Implementation of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in routine screening of blood donors in the
early 1970s has greatly enhanced transfusion safety. The incidence

Analysis Of The Poem A Sorrowful Woman
Once upon a time there was a wife and mother one too many times (Godwin 39). This short story
begins with the famous opening, once upon a time, which foreshadows that the story line will be
similar to a fairy tale. It raises expectations for the story that all will be magical and end happily. A
typical modern day fairy taleis that of a distressed character who overcomes an obstacle, falls in
love with prince charming, and they ride off into the sunset; living happily ever after never to be
heard from again. Godwin however, puts an unexpected twist on A Sorrowful Woman . This short
story is a tale about what can happen when everyday roles take over our identity. Ultimately, this
short story challenges societal expectations of marriage... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Divorce from marriage would break the bounds of normality for this time period. Traditionally,
women were stay at home who tended to the children, house chores, and duties when needed.
Purposely, Godwin doesn t give the characters names. This is important because it implies that the
characters are not people, but they represent their role within the family. Godwin mocks a fairy tale
by having the characters actions contradict expectations. This is shown when the mother is literally
sick at the sight of her family (Godwin 39). Also when the child pretends to be a tiger and
scratches the mother, scaring her off so she didn t want to be alone with the boy anymore. The
husband doesn t save the wife from her state, he simply understands it and finds other solutions.
He hires a girl to help care for the boy, but the mother resents this. The mother wishes to be happy
with her roles but she cannot accept them, and despises the perfect girl for doing what she is
unable to (Godwin 40 41 ).
The mother leads a life where her duties and societal expectations are met, but by doing this her
happiness is lost. Once upon a time implies that she thought her life as a wife and mother would
be perfect. The wife even attempts to find new roles to replace the ones she holds which do not suit
her, She tried these personalities on like costumes, then discarded them (Godwin 42).

The Reasons Before I Learned In Poetry
Before I learned about poetry, I understand that poetic are rhyme, the words are soft, using the
metaphor, symbolic and also saying indirect way or some secret in. After I have learned about
poetry, I understand that just a meaningful conversation, a few actions or some experiences
might be a poem. We don t need to be rhyme, we don t need to be secret in or we don t need
metaphor, symbolic too much to be poetic. Because of the reasons, I define the word poetic with
the simplest way that is every words or situations can be poetic and it is just depend on the people
who look at as a poetic or not. So, it is not actually different with my daily activities. There are
many reasons that we learned in the class. The first reason is that I have learned about thinking,
knowing, believing and feeling. In this concept, according to ee crummings, I learned that we don t
need to think, know or believe to be poetic but we just need to feel only. I understand that our
thoughts, knowing or believing make our feelings. Moreover, we could not feel someone s feeling
although we can think, know or believe. So, to feel in the poem, we already know, believe or think.
In my daily life, I always express my feeling... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Tr. Joe, if we express our sensory that what we smell, what we taste, what we hear,
what we see and touch in details, it would become a poetic poem. For example, in the poem
Misfits within limits , I can see, hear and also taste. The speaker is phoning to his friend that I
can hear and they are going to the SONY HD Revolution Exhibition that I can see and they drink
cold drink that I can taste. Likely, in my daily life, I can understand by seeing with my eyes, by
hearing the sounds, by tasting the taste or by smelling with my nose or something that actually
happen to me. According to this reasons, it is similarities with my daily activities

simple creation to fulfill John A. Macdonald s promise to unite the new country of Canada by
building a transcontinental railway, has now transformed into what is recognized as the Canadian
National Railway Corporation, with a market cap of $55.9 billion just over 100 years later
(Forbes). It is important to understand CNR s key to success is based on several factors such as;

In the novel and film, The Great Gatsby is about a man who had everything except the love of his
life. It truly represents the American Dream, which is having the independence and ability to make
something out of yourself if you try hard enough (The Great Gatsby Theme Of Visions Of
America). F.Scott Fitzgerald s novel and Baz Luhrmann s film of The Great Gatsbyare very similar,
but they do have some differences.
The main characters are Nick Carraway, Tom Buchanan, Jay Gatsby, Daisy Buchanan, and Myrtle
Wilson. In both the film and novel, Nick is the narrator. He is a curious and quiet person. Jay
Gatsby is the man who had everything except the love of his life; her name was Daisy
Buchanan. Gatsby s main motivation in life was to find Daisy. In both the film and novel,
Gatsby was a very mysterious man. Tom Buchanan is a dishonest alcoholic in both film and
novel. In chapter two, Tom pulls Nick off the train and says, I want you to meet my girl.
(Fitzgerald 24). His girl is Myrtle Wilson, she is his mistress. Myrtle Wilson is killed by Daisy in
both the film and the novel. The characters in the film are very similar to those in the novel. ... Show

The Controversy Of Water Conservation
Every time I want to use the bathroom, I turn the shower on. I kinda feel bad but I am paying for
the water so it is ok. I was astounded to hear my friend speaking these words. I was in disbelief
of her attitude towards the use of water. Even though her statement was true the water bill was in
fact covered by her tuition her reasoning and possible excuse of the unnecessary use of the shower
was worryingly mistaken. Granted, this statement came from a first semester college freshman that
experienced many changes after starting college. Her actions could be justified by some with the
argument that she acted that way in search of some privacy. Nevertheless, that, and other forms of
wasting water by college students, cannot be justified once the implications to our environment are
considered. Because we, as college students, are not aware of the heightened importance of water
conservation, we are wasting this resource, potentially threatening our futures. Here goes another
repetitive essay about water conservation, you might be thinking, and I don t blame you. There are
a lot of essays and organizations that repeatedly send messages about the importance of using our
water thoughtfully before it runs out. This same message has been repeated for decades, and yet,
water has continued to flow freely from faucets and showers. Even though water has not run out
yet, these authors and groups are not doomsday fanatics that predict the end of the world. They
have a very valid reason

Exploring the Reasons for the Underachievement of Ethnic Minority Children
Rational ========
Every child goes through the same education system, every child works through the same
curriculum 2000 set by New Labour and every child sits the same exams up to the age of 16. So
why are there marked differences in educational attainment for ethnic minority students?
My main aim is to find out if racism is the main cause of the gap between different ethnic groups in
education, which can lead to some ethnic minority groups being over represented in low status, low
paid jobs.
My investigation will look at the different explanations that sociologists have used over the years to
explain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet I can do a comparison with the rest of Britain by using other sociologist research on the topic,
and see how much mine and theirs vary.
I have picked this topic because I feel that education underachievement is a major problem and so
is institutional racism. This issue has gained more attention after the racially motivated murder of
Stephen Lawrence and the Mancpherson report that followed. I also believe that everyone should
be given an equal chance to do his or her best, so it is important to me to find out if racism is the
real reason for ethnic minority students underachievement.
METHODOLOGY
An important issue in my research is how am I going to go about it? The main issue is to find out
the best method that suits the nature of my research. Along side this it is important to know how
practical and ethical my research is.
I have decided to use unstructured interviews for my research. This is due to several reasons, one
being the constraints of the area I live in. Norwich generally has small amounts of ethnic diversity,
and my school shows this, as the majority of students are White. If this wasn t so then I would of
used questionnaires and observation methods. Therefore I have decided that my best opinion is to
talk to people who deal with such matters on a day to day

Sacrifices In Athens
Somewhere around the 5th century before Christ the city of Athens was stricken with a
mysterious plague, all efforts failed to stop the plague, the leaders of Athens thinking that some
god had been offended so they sought for a way to appease the offended god, however this was
not a easy task as Athens was know as the god capital of the world . Having made two visits to
that city I can attest to the fact that it lives up to its name. Sacrifices was made in all sorts of
ways, yet the plague never ceased to destroy its people. The city fathers decided to call on a seer
and philosopher poet named Epimenides. Epimenides came from the Island of Cyprus after
evaluating the problem, he came to the conclusion that none of the know gods were

  • 3. Westward Expansion Dbq Analysis American Expansion DBQ Americans expanded their country in two different eras throughout history: American imperialism and westward expansion. During both of these eras, the mid late 1800s and the early 1900s, Americans believed that expansion was necessary and beneficial. To a great extent, late nineteenth century and early twentieth century United Statesexpansionism was a continuation of past United States expansionism and to a lesser extent was it a departure. The similarities and differences between American Imperialism in the early 1900s and Manifest Destiny in the mid late 1800s are shown through political, economic, and moral motives of America and its government. America wanted to establish itself as a global and political power on the same level as major European nations. Nuclear Fission Impact The Impact of Nuclear Fission and Reactors on the Environment Overview Nuclear fission is a reaction in which heavy nuclei, such as Uranium and Plutonium, are broken into smaller nuclei releasing heat, which is transformed into another form of energy such as, mechanical or electrical. For a long time people have been using nuclear fission as an efficient and sustainable source of energy. However, the use of this form of energy is associated with a unique set of consequences including environmental, social and ethical. In this paper I will discuss nuclear energy and its impact on the environment. There are tow types of waste produced from nuclear fission: high level waste and low level waste. High level waste consists of used uranium rods that can no longer be used for energy or produced into other elements. The majority of low level waste consists of water and used equipment from the nuclear reactors. Both types of waste are highly toxic and it was estimated that about 200,000 cubic meters of low level waste and about 10,000 cubic meters of high level waste are produced world wide each year. These wastes are usually encapsulated in multi layer containers that are buried in deep geological areas (Figure 5). According to the European Union (EU) calculation, the disposal of low level waste costs about $2,200/ cubic meters and high level waste costs over $100,000/ cubic meters annually (Storage and Disposal, 2015). In addition to the cost, these wastes may affect future generation by escaping into the environment due to natural phenomena such as earthquakes and tsunamis. Therefore the authorities should set stringent rules and regulations regarding nuclear programs to improve nuclear safety and enhance risk management (Xiang, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Greek Myth Of Icarus The Greek myth of Icarus goes as follows. In ancient Greece, there was a brilliant inventor named Daedalus. This man had a son named Icarus. They both lived on the island of Crete, which was ruled by a tyrant named King Minos. Wanting to escape from island with his son to avoid King Mino s wrath, Daedalus invented wings to fly across the sea with. As the only means of escape, Daedaluswarned his son to neither fly too high to the sun and too low to the sea. As the two made their escape, Icarushad forgotten his father s warning. He enjoyed the feeling of flying too much and soared higher and higher towards the sun. Eventually, he came too close to the sun and his wings melted. He plummeted towards the earth, where he fell to the sea and drowned. The warning Daedalus gave Icarus about flying too high could be analogous with knowing your limits or not wanting too much. However, in a painting done by Bruegel on the subject of Icarus, he paints the whole ordeal rather as insignificant. A religious man that lived in the 16th century, Bruegel s painting downplays the Greek gods in that they are only mythical and that the punishment Icarus receives was neither important nor divine. I think this illustrates that while myths may just be fantasy stories to amuse ourselves with, at one point they were someone else s religion. • 13. Myelin Essay Myelin is a fatty sheath that coats nerve cells. It consists of about 70% lipids. In the central nervous system, it is made of oligodendrocytes. One oligodendrocyte can myelinate many axons. In the peripheral nervous system, myelin is made of a Schwann cell. One Schwann cell can myelinate only one axon. Oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells form myelinby wrapping around the axon. The myelin sheath is a good insulator. It also creates low capacitance. This means that fewer ions are needed to charge and discharge the membrane of the axon. Myelin also clusters ions channels between myelin sheaths. These clusters are called nodes of Ranvier. Myelin allows the action potential of myelinated axons to travel further than unmyelinated axons with the same diameter. Because the myelin sheath is a good insulator, within myelinated segments of the axon, there is a high resistance to ion flow in and out of the axon. As a result, there is little charge leakage within the myelinated segments of the axon. This allows for the action potential to travel longer distances. From an evolutionary perspective, this allowed for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The time consuming process of propagating an action potential occurs at the ions channels. Myelinated axons do not have ions channels spanning the entire axon. Instead, they are clustered only at the nodes of Ranvier. So, the time consuming propagation of action potentials is limited to small segments in the axon. This allows the action potential to move quickly. Therefore, a myelinated axon can conduct a faster action potential than an unmelinated axon with the same diameter. This allows for faster information integration and response in organisms with myelinated axons (compared to organisms with unmyelinated axons of the same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Manufacturers like Vita Pakt and Makaha lost enormous amounts of money due to canceled orders for the Christmas season. Over the next eight years, skateboarding remained fairly underground, showing up only in areas like Santa Monica, California. During this period Larry Stevenson invented the kicktail and tried to resurrect skateboarding but he met with only a small amount of success. It also would be cool to see a building slowly rise, or even fall. That is why I am researching a construction worker. 2.There are many responsibilities for this career. This could be a quality that could help you because of the things you would have to lift on the job such as bags of concrete, or maybe some stones that need to be clear in order to start building. Another quality could be the knowledge to save money. There are positions for construction workers that are meant specifically to help the company that you are working for to save money. If you know ways to get around expensive things and get supplies or anything else that could be costly, then this would be a good position to have that knowledge. The ability to drive heavy machinery in this occupation would be extremely important for this occupation. The reason it would be so important for this type of career is because there is a lot of need for vehicles like this. These vehicles are used for all sorts of things in construction from digging holes, dumping dirt, transporting rocks or dirt to or from the construction site, and even pouring concrete. These are a few of the specific abilities that could help me on the job. 11.There are some limiting factors that go with being a construction worker. Personal Narrative Reflection My third visit to Mrs. Casanova s class has thus far been my most productive, in terms of applying something I have learned both from this class and UCF in general. With the end of the middle of the second nine weeks rapidly approaching so too are classroom summative assignments. During my visit on the twentieth I was able to both see the test creation process in a PLC and participate in the creation of some questions. Two of the three teacher I have been able to spend time with in the classroom, the first being in internship and the second, Mrs. Casanova with service learning. Both teachers employ direct instruction as their primary means of conveying information, with Mrs. Casanova using it more than the honors and AP teachers. However, within the PLC the test questions were being created for all classes, rather than having separate questions for AP, honors, and regular classes, with the only difference being the written response questions being more challenging in upper classes. Due to this, content evidence was very important, especially for the upper classes, as they technically would be getting the same test as a regular. Beyond this however, the instruction leading up to the test also had to be evaluated as the questions were made with AP in mind. According to the book, content evidence connects to state standards and what the students need to know based off this, which should be reflected within the instruction (pg. 396). In New Zealand, 80% of hens are currently suffering in battery cages, living an unnatural lifestyle. This inhumane way of farming has to stop as it s detrimental to the rights of hens and all animals to live and be treated without cruelty and I believe it is simply unjust. Not only are these defenseless Hens killed, they are also denied the right to move and walk, are arguably tortured and will never spread their wings. The ban of battery cages needs to take a stronger stance as the phasing out of battery cages by 2022 serves only to make way for colony cages which are just as cruel. • 24. Periods of Greek Art Greek art has changed throughout the years, yet some basic forms have remained. Time, technique, as well as historical events have helped shape the way art has evolved since 600 B.C. Three important periods in Greek art are the Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic periods. We will discuss how art has changed throughout these periods, what influences led to change, as well as why it changed. We will also discuss what has remained constant through these periods. Since people s perceptions and taste of art are different, some would say that art has become better with time, whereas others would say the opposite, but nonetheless, it has evolved. The Archaic period dates from 800 B.C. to 480 B.C. The Greeks were inspired by monumental stone sculptureof Egypt and Mesopotamia, sculpting in stone began in Greece. However, although this was inspired by Egypt, there were significant differences between how they were sculpted. For instance, take the Greek sculpture Kouros (c 580 B.C. made of marble, standing at 6 4 tall) the standing male nude. While this resembled characteristics of Egypt sculptures such as pose and proportion, his form becomes more dynamic as the sculpture is nude. Kouros also appears to wear jewelry around his neck and the exquisite detail in the braids of his hair suggest he is groomed and dressed properly. Critical Analysis Of The Game Of Love And Chance The Game of Love and Chance is a play written by Pierre de Marivaux (1688 1763), who is a French novelist and dramatist that is now considered one of the best French playwrights of the eighteenth century. He has written over thirty plays that focus more towards romantic comedy. Marivaux was born in Paris, France on February 4th, 1688, and deceased on February 12th, 1963 in Paris. The game of Loveand Chance (also called Le Jeu de l amour et du hasard in French), is a romantic comedygenre, and the main subject of it is love. It was first performed on the 23rd of January 1730 at the Comedie Italienne, where Marivaux s plays were mostly performed. Originally, in 1697, the theatre Comedie Italienne was shut down due to offensive contents, and the companies were banished from France. However, in 1716, the companies were permitted back to France, and from there, the companies focused on the works of French playwrights, more specifically on Pierre de Marivaux s plays. An important category that The Game of Love and Chance belongs to is comedy of manners, which means a comedy that satirizes behavior in a particular social group, especially the upper classes . The play used comedy in order to explore the political issues of class and satirized behaviors. The play is about assumed identity, the ultimate triumph of true love, and the tyranny of social taboos. • 27. Informative Speech On Water Speech Paloma Water covers 70% of our planet, and it is easy to think that it will always be plentiful. However, freshwater, what we drink, bathe in, irrigate our farm fields with makes up only 3% of the world s water, and two thirds of that is stored in frozen glaciers or unavailable for our use. Many of the water systems that keep ecosystems thriving and feed a growing human population have become stressed. Rivers, lakes and aquifers are drying up or becoming too polluted to use. Already, 80 countries suffer from water shortages that threaten health and economies while 40 percent of the world more than 2 billion people does not have access to clean water or sanitation We usually associate water shortages with a lack of drinking water, but global water scarcity has a critical impact on food security. Agriculture consumes more water than any other source. Climate change is altering patterns of weather around the world, causing shortages and droughts in some areas and floods in others. Water is key to food security. Crops and livestock need water to grow. Agriculture requires large quantities of water for irrigation and various production processes. Water scarcity may limit food production and supply, putting pressure on food prices and increasing countries dependence on food imports Less water means farming and other crops that need water to grow have lower yield. Water is needed to ensure food security, to feed livestock, and to conserve the biodiversity and environment. Australia With the growing population of the world, demand for food is increasing. This means that Australian farmers are struggling to provide enough food for the global market, and clean water for irrigation is as important as ever. In Australia, agriculture is the largest consumer of water, representing around 70% of our total annual water consumption. Australia is a major exporter of food, particularly wheat and beef, to the rest of the world. In 2009, 60% of Australia s agricultural produce was exported overseas. Overall meat production is expected to double by 2050, meaning that even more pressure will be put on the Australian meat industry. It is the most extensively banned drug in Britain. However, many local societies and organizations advocate a reform of its validity. Other societies such as the Centre for Social Justice and Skunk Sense argue in favour of cannabis remaining illegal (UK Government, 2014). Cannabis and its products have historically been so popular in Britain that its use remains a problem among the country s citizens. Creon s Determination In Sophocles Antigone Antigone is a play by Sophocles which embellishes the rivalry between Creon who stands for the state values and Antigone who stands for family values, the start at the end of a battle between Polyneices and Eteocles, brothers of Antigone and Ismene. The two siblings kill each other, and this makes Creon new king of Thebes. After the primaries, her poise only seemed to double, not of her own accord, but because of her opponent s (intentional or unintentional, who knows) attitude and mannerisms. During that period of time, farm prices collapsed and therefore farmers hardly had any income. Subsidies are benefits given by the state to specific groups needing financial aid in form of cash or tax reduction. Subsidies are often considered to be in the interest of the general public. This means that subsidies enable the smaller farms to produce at an optimal level of production. In contrast to monopoly, competition plays an important role, not only in the agricultural, but in any industry. This is the false assumption that you will see when it comes to database models. The relational database model is great for data that normally can fit into a table, or shows relationships between data, but not all data falls into that category. There are a few options for these situations. You can use an object oriented database, a hierarchical database, a network database, and a flat file database. The first alternative is known as the object oriented. In a document oriented database model, each individual record, and all of the data associated with that record, is thought of as a document. In this type of database, everything that is related to a database object, or document, is grouped together. This keeps the database organized, and easier to find things that are related to each other. Each document is encoding data in some format or encoding. The most common formats include XML, JSON and BSON. These are just some of the formats available, but these seem to be the most popular formats that are being used. A document can have single, or even multiple fields. These fields can vary from document to document, which gives each document a lot of flexibility. The tension between them is caused by both Jacob and Joseph. First, Jacob shows favoritism toward Joseph, because he is the son of his favorite wife Rachel. Second, Joseph brings back bad reports when he is out pasturing with his brothers. However, what truly increased the hatred and jealousy was the Joseph s dreams. The author notes that when Joseph recounts the dreams, they hated him even more (Gen. 37:8). Their jealousy for Joseph is strong enough that they are willing to murder him. However, they decide to instead sell him into slavery, and convince Jacobthat he was killed. A greater conflict is later revealed later in the story. Joseph is brought before Pharaoh to interpret his dream, and he reveals that after seven years of plenty, a severe famine will engulf the land so that the seven years of plenty will be forgotten. In order to prepare for the famine, Pharaoh must appoint someone to oversee the storing and rationing of the food in Egypt. Since Joseph interpreted the dream that the magicians and wisemen of Egypt could not, Pharaoh made Joseph second in command over all of Egypt. Through Joseph Egypt is well prepared for the famine. • 43. Analysis Of The Poem A Sorrowful Woman Once upon a time there was a wife and mother one too many times (Godwin 39). This short story begins with the famous opening, once upon a time, which foreshadows that the story line will be similar to a fairy tale. It raises expectations for the story that all will be magical and end happily. A typical modern day fairy taleis that of a distressed character who overcomes an obstacle, falls in love with prince charming, and they ride off into the sunset; living happily ever after never to be heard from again. Godwin however, puts an unexpected twist on A Sorrowful Woman . This short story is a tale about what can happen when everyday roles take over our identity. Ultimately, this short story challenges societal expectations of marriage... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Divorce from marriage would break the bounds of normality for this time period. Traditionally, women were stay at home who tended to the children, house chores, and duties when needed. Purposely, Godwin doesn t give the characters names. This is important because it implies that the characters are not people, but they represent their role within the family. Godwin mocks a fairy tale by having the characters actions contradict expectations. This is shown when the mother is literally sick at the sight of her family (Godwin 39). Also when the child pretends to be a tiger and scratches the mother, scaring her off so she didn t want to be alone with the boy anymore. The husband doesn t save the wife from her state, he simply understands it and finds other solutions. He hires a girl to help care for the boy, but the mother resents this. The mother wishes to be happy with her roles but she cannot accept them, and despises the perfect girl for doing what she is unable to (Godwin 40 41 ). The mother leads a life where her duties and societal expectations are met, but by doing this her happiness is lost. Once upon a time implies that she thought her life as a wife and mother would be perfect. The wife even attempts to find new roles to replace the ones she holds which do not suit her, She tried these personalities on like costumes, then discarded them (Godwin 42). ... The Reasons Before I Learned In Poetry Before I learned about poetry, I understand that poetic are rhyme, the words are soft, using the metaphor, symbolic and also saying indirect way or some secret in. After I have learned about poetry, I understand that just a meaningful conversation, a few actions or some experiences might be a poem. We don t need to be rhyme, we don t need to be secret in or we don t need metaphor, symbolic too much to be poetic. Because of the reasons, I define the word poetic with the simplest way that is every words or situations can be poetic and it is just depend on the people who look at as a poetic or not. So, it is not actually different with my daily activities. There are many reasons that we learned in the class. The first reason is that I have learned about thinking, knowing, believing and feeling. In this concept, according to ee crummings, I learned that we don t need to think, know or believe to be poetic but we just need to feel only. • 49. The Controversy Of Water Conservation Every time I want to use the bathroom, I turn the shower on. I kinda feel bad but I am paying for the water so it is ok. I was astounded to hear my friend speaking these words. I was in disbelief of her attitude towards the use of water. Even though her statement was true the water bill was in fact covered by her tuition her reasoning and possible excuse of the unnecessary use of the shower was worryingly mistaken. Granted, this statement came from a first semester college freshman that experienced many changes after starting college. Her actions could be justified by some with the argument that she acted that way in search of some privacy. Nevertheless, that, and other forms of wasting water by college students, cannot be justified once the implications to our environment are considered. Because we, as college students, are not aware of the heightened importance of water conservation, we are wasting this resource, potentially threatening our futures. Here goes another repetitive essay about water conservation, you might be thinking, and I don t blame you. There are a lot of essays and organizations that repeatedly send messages about the importance of using our water thoughtfully before it runs out. This same message has been repeated for decades, and yet, water has continued to flow freely from faucets and showers. Even though water has not run out yet, these authors and groups are not doomsday fanatics that predict the end of the world. They have a very valid reason ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Exploring the Reasons for the Underachievement of Ethnic Minority Children Rational ======== Every child goes through the same education system, every child works through the same curriculum 2000 set by New Labour and every child sits the same exams up to the age of 16. So why are there marked differences in educational attainment for ethnic minority students? My investigation will look at the different explanations that sociologists have used over the years to explain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yet I can do a comparison with the rest of Britain by using other sociologist research on the topic, and see how much mine and theirs vary. I have picked this topic because I feel that education underachievement is a major problem and so is institutional racism. This issue has gained more attention after the racially motivated murder of Stephen Lawrence and the Mancpherson report that followed. I also believe that everyone should be given an equal chance to do his or her best, so it is important to me to find out if racism is the real reason for ethnic minority students underachievement. METHODOLOGY An important issue in my research is how am I going to go about it? The main issue is to find out the best method that suits the nature of my research. Along side this it is important to know how practical and ethical my research is. I have decided to use unstructured interviews for my research. This is due to several reasons, one being the constraints of the area I live in. Norwich generally has small amounts of ethnic diversity, and my school shows this, as the majority of students are White. If this wasn t so then I would of used questionnaires and observation methods. Therefore I have decided that my best opinion is to talk to people who deal with such matters on a day to day ...
