Essay On India
Crafting an essay on the vast and diverse topic of India presents a formidable challenge. The
sheer magnitude of its history, culture, geography, and socio-economic dynamics requires a
meticulous approach to encapsulate its essence within the confines of an essay. One must tread
carefully to avoid oversimplification or overlooking crucial facets.
The multifaceted nature of India demands thorough research to grasp its complexities. From its
ancient civilizations to the modern democratic republic, capturing the chronological evolution
poses a daunting task. Each region boasts unique traditions, languages, and practices, adding
layers of intricacy that demand exhaustive exploration.
Attempting to delve into India's cultural tapestry involves navigating through a myriad of art
forms, religious practices, festivals, and languages. The diversity is not only in the people but
also in the landscapes, ranging from the Himalayan heights to the coastal plains, each with its
own set of nuances.
Socio-economic dimensions further amplify the challenge. Addressing issues like poverty, caste
system, economic development, and technological advancements requires a delicate balance to
avoid oversimplification or turning a blind eye to the ongoing complexities.
Furthermore, incorporating contemporary perspectives and future projections adds another layer
of difficulty. India's position on the global stage, its geopolitical dynamics, and the ongoing
socio-political shifts demand constant updates and nuanced analysis.
In conclusion, writing an essay on India is akin to navigating a vast and intricate labyrinth,
where each turn reveals a new dimension to be explored. It necessitates not only a
comprehensive understanding but also the ability to synthesize information coherently. It is a
task that requires diligence, thorough research, and an acute awareness of the dynamic nature of
the subject.

Environmentalism In Pope Francis
Pope Francis describes a relentless exploitation and destruction towards
environmental discomfort, for which he blamed apathy from the pursuit of profitable
faith in political as well as technological injustice. The Laudato Si unambiguously
accepts scientific causes that impacts the climate that were beneficially man made,
stating climate change is a global problem with grave implications: environmental,
social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods . Representing one of
the principals that challenges humanity. After great anticipation, Pope Francis
determined and faced the difficulties of climate change and pleaded for justice, to
enter into dialogue with all people about our common home. The Pope reaches for
new conclusions and is calling for a spiritual transformation and a solid connection
to Earth s ecosystems. The Laudato Si is different, as it is not addressed specifically
to the one beliefs with additional groups added. Pope Francis invites the people of the
world to a dialogue on the subject of environmentalism. Pope Francis has written
Laudato Si as caring for creation is something that is close to his heart. More
fundamentally, Pope Francis believes that there are substantial ecological
complications today that must be addressed. They include not only problems in the
natural environmentbut also in the humansphere, particularly among the
disadvantaged. Pope Francis wrote the encyclical, dated 24 May 2015 and was

Speech On Grommet
Choosing The Right Grommet Type For Your Application
We have seen it already in many places. Also, we have already used it many times
for day to day applications. Anyway, people don t know the name of it. Well, we
refer to the Grommet here. Are you confused now? OK, go to your bathroom and
take a closer look at the bathtub curtain! The curtain moves along the bar on which it
is on thanks to a few metal rings. We call those metal rings; Grommet. You can see
similar items on your shoes. Anyway, those are small items, and we usually call
them eyelets. The whole purpose of this small piece is reinforcing and protecting the
hole. Without the eyelets, the shoelace holes can get damaged from day to day use.

Banners, hospital curtains. tabletop displays, metal bakeware, protective barriers, non
skid covers for RV steps, aerospace parts, and fabrics are the common applications of
an aluminum Grommet. Now, you can understand how versatile this product is.
Why aluminum?: Well, we should highlight several properties here:
* Durability: When compared to steel, aluminum is durable and light weight. While it
is difficult to which is the best from aluminum and stainless steel, aluminum is
definitely better than ordinary steel. So, can be used for outdoor applications and for
where water and moisture are present.
* Ductility: Well, this benefit is enjoyed by the Grommet manufacturers. When
compared to steel, aluminum is more ductile, hence easy to roll, processed, and
stamped. In other words, aluminum makes the manufacturing process easy and
practical.
* Lightness: The high weight is the top downside of steel grommets. Aluminum, on
the other hand; is three times lighter than steel, making it suitable for applications
where weight reduction is necessary. So, installing 3 aluminum grommets adds the
same weight as adding one steel
Four Cardinal Signs Of Inflammation
Inflammation is the response of our body to harmful stimuli. Redness, swelling,
increased heat and pain are the four cardinal signs of this inflammatory response.
The skin barrier was primarily damaged due to the tick bite. The tick was
embedded into the skin. The skin is a natural mechanical barrier, and the first line
of defense for the body. When this injury occurred to the body, a secondary line of
defense was initiated. Redness/Rubor The rubor can be explained by vasodilation at
the site causes increased blood flow to the area. Vasodilation is caused by histamine.
When the body recognizes a barrier has been damaged the injured body cells release
chemicals called histamines. Histamines begin the inflammatory response by limiting
Representation Of Male And Females
There are typical representations for both males and females. Usually the well
known representation of a male is to be strong, manly and brave. The typical
representation of a female is to be loving, innocent and a mother. This is what each
gender s representation usually was back then. Nowadays, the representation of
each males and females has changed. More and more males are taking on the jobs
of women as in being the one to take care of and spend the most time with the kids.
This happens because more and more women are becoming very independent and
making careers for themselves. The percentage amount of women that go to college
now are bigger than ever. Because more and more of them are going to college and

People are focusing on the movement and they are getting their point across. They try
to promote women are strong and are independent just like men are. They keep
fighting to earn the same amount of money for the same job that a man works. Some
states have their male employees earn just a little bit more money than the female
employee of the state. a majority of women do not like the idea and are wanting to
fight back so they can get all the money that they earned just like any man of the
state should earn. The youth girls of America are the people who the feminists are
trying to target and tell them they can do whatever they want if they work hard for
it. This audience of people they try targeting because they know they are obviously
the future of America and when they grow up to keep fighting for feminism, they
will be stronger because they got a good taste of it their whole lives growing up.
Boys are told to be strong, manly, independent and to provide for women and
children. Girls are told to be loving for their children and to be depended of a man.
This was the norm until recently feminism has taken over for girls to grow up and be
what they want to be. The gender representation of women has changed to, if they
wanted, strong and independent for themselves so they do not have to depend on a
man for a good living. In one of Mr. Clean s advertisements, they show a mother and

Kardashian Informative Speech
A Kardashian (guess who) has recently been reported to separate from a Disick
(guess who again) after spending 9 years and having three children together. The
reasons for the break up were the man s persistent substance abuse problem, and a
rumored affair with his ex in Monaco while his baby mama was celebrating the 4th
of July with family and friends in California. These factors combined with
Kardashian s suspicion that he cheated on her with other women was the last straw
and her dawning wake up call. She did it for her kids, and we applaud her for her
strength. In light of this woman s enlightenment, here are a few songs to inspire those

Theme Of Flowers For Algernon
One in 25 Americans live with a serious mental illness, in the story Flowers for
Algernon the author, Daniel Keyes tells the story of Charlie Gordon a mentally
disabled man that neurosurgeons try to help by doing an operation to raise his IQ
and test his brain using a mouse named algernon that had the same operation as him
and does the same tests as him to see how much charlie s IQ has improved but when
a sudden turn in events occurs and algernon dies, charlie expects a sudden end.
Daniel Keyes, the author for Flowers For Algernon, creates the theme, changing the
way of nature can lead to consequences.

For instance, Drs. Strauss and Nemur must be viewed as having little ) or no
practical applicability (at the present time) to the increase of human intelligence.
This quote shows that Dr.Strauss and nemur doubted the capability of increasing
the intelligence in a human subject but, continued the experiment anyways which
lead to charlie getting his hopes up and becoming smarter then it suddenly stops
working and charlie goes back to him old self and even worse has a sudden end to
life itself. Also In addition, Daniel Keyes uses the experiment/surgery to portray the
theme by failing to increase charlie s IQ. the boy in the restaurant, the blank
expression, the silly smile, the people laughing at him. No please not that again .
this quote shows that giving charlie the operation only hurt charlie because once he
was highly intelligent he finally felt smart but slowly started to feel himself
becoming mentally retarded again and it hurt him to know he would have to be
stupid the rest of his life and also brought down his confidence like their was no
chance. Daniel Keyes also uses the experiment to portray the theme changing nature

Paypal
Paypal is more than likely the most widely used payment service program used
today. This payment service has over 60 million users worldwide and there are over
190 countries that use it for money transactions. Paypal was created by Ken Howery,
Max Levchin, Elon Musk, Luke Nosek and Peter Thiel. These innovators saw the
opportunity to create an online business that would eventually be used around the
world. It is strictly an e commerce business that is completely internet dependant. The
company was founded in 1998 during the Dot Com bubble but was able to make it
out alive with little discrepancies. Working with Ebay, paypalwas able to build its
success very quickly. This payment service generates a whopping $4 billion dollars

They only charge 2% of the price that any product is sold for and they tacked on a
20 cent fee per transaction. This is a better deal than what Paypal has to offer.
Google Checkout is fairly new to the E commerce world and has a promising
future with merchants and consumers who wish to commence in online business.
Google Checkout is reinforcing its customers with one of the biggest online
companies in the world, which is Google itself. You can also be sure to trust this
money processing company because they also look for fraudulent activity. The
customer service is great and they always look out for their customers best interest.
Although I have given much praise to Google Checkout, I must inform you that
there are some disadvantages that I must bring to the surface. Google Checkout is
not as user friendly as Google itself. There is a 10 day required waiting period for a
payout. This payout waiting time is decreased to 2 days after you have had an
account in good standings for 60 days. The last disadvantage would be that Google
Checkout has only been around since 2006. It is still a fairly new money processing
company to the E commerce world and many consumers are hesitant to try it out.
Volusion Volusion is a fairly new money processing company with over 10,000
account holders as of 2012.. This company has the potential to be a huge competitor
to Paypal and Google Checkout. Volusion was
Neuro Linguistic Programming
History of Neuro Linguistic Programming Abstract This paper covers the history and
development of Neuro Linguistic Programming in the field of psychology covering
its techniques and its growth from behavioral modeling and the influences of Gestalt
psychologists Fritz Perls; Virginia Satir, and Milton Erikson. Richard Bandler and
John Grinder are considered the fathers of Neuro Linguistic Programming and this
paper covers the skills they developed and their discovery of the ways to identify the
representational systems someone uses even when that person is not talking, by
recognizing eye movements that reveal that the person is making pictures, hearing
sounds, or sensing feelings. NLP can be used in psychotherapy but also in many...

An anchor is a specific word which represents behaviors classically conditioned to
evoke a specific response. This response can be cognitive or behavioral. An anchor
does not need to be to be reinforced with its response and it does not need to be
conditioned over a period of time. Language is a common anchoring system. For
example, the word dog will be an auditory anchor to an image of four legged animal
that barks, an effective anchor with little cognitive effort. The smell of a hospital or
a family member screaming in anger is examples of anchors that have been
unintentionally installed and they operate out of an individual s awareness and direct
control. Neuro Linguistic Programming operates to install new anchors which work
just as well as these unintentional anchors and work toward evoking a response that
increases the behavioral flexibility of a person and it is through these anchors that
changes can be made in the strategies of thought. Using NLP a therapist can establish
a map of one s cognitive representation of the world and place anchors that be
established in a clients strategies that provoke responses that differ from those
expected using their original strategy. It is now used internationally used by millions
of people throughout the world in such diverse fields as management, sales,
marketing, public relations, education, therapy, the military and police, sport, and
personal development. (Schaefer, Beausay Pursley 1983).
Principles of Accounting
Principles of Accounting Name Institutional Affiliation Date: Principles Accounting
Part I: 1. How is managerial accounting different from financial accounting?
Managerial accounting is mostly used by organizations for purposes of internet alone.
The format it uses may not be conforming to the standardization by GAAP. Flexibility
is offered for by the system so as the corporate can oversee needs for future and
purposes of planning. Managers use managerial accounting to implement decisions
that are concerned with the daily operations of an organization. It relies a lot based on
past performance but on trends that are current and future and do not give an
allowance of exact numbers. Financial accounting is closely related to GAAP.
Standardization is necessary for accommodation of outside agencies might be in need
of this information. It is not useful in any way to predict the future. Management
account relies a lot on the future market trends, and managers are faced with the
difficulty of making critical decisions within a short period in a fluctuating
environment (Holgate, 2006). Management accounting is usually presented internally
while financial accounting is for use by external stakeholders. Financial management
might be very significant to potential and current investors, but management
accounting is a necessity for managers for making decisions for their current and
future financial status. Financial accounting is specific and must conform to GAAP

The Throne Of Fire Essay
Rick Riordan easily demonstrated the growth and development of characters
throughout the story names The Throne of Fire . Bes, the egyptian dwarf god had
not like Carter and Sadie Kane really much. After their experience with each other
they developed a new relationship, for example all the times they have fought of
the servants of the embodiment of chaos, Apophis. When they were gambling for
moonlight with the moon god, Khonsu Bes had risked his ren , secret name, or his
life s experience for Carter and Sadie to be able to go one past the eighth house to
stop Apophis from rising. One Bes s last words before he had given his ren to
Khonsu were, Sometimes you have to lose a piece to win a game. (Riordan, 393),
which shows that he had cared too much for Sadie and Carter to have risked his own
existence just for two magicians that he had met for barely one week. After leaving

red to deep purple indicating a new age...I saw two figures grappling in front of a
burning chair. (Riordan, 302). The author surprisingly describes and developed the
plot of the story in only one action. He also developed the plot of the story by
describing the memories that Carter had of Zia. Carter described Zia by starting
by, Her short black hair drifted around her face, which was just as beautiful as I
remembered...Queen Nefertiti, Zia reminded me of her, with raised eyebrows, high
cheekbones, graceful nose, and perfect red lips. Rick Riordan used more examples

Gantt Chart
Henry Gantt s legacy to production management is the following: * The Gantt chart:
Still accepted as an important management tool today, it provides a graphic schedule
for the planning and controlling of work, and recording progress towards stages of a
project. The chart has a modern variation, Program Evaluation and Review Technique
(PERT). * Industrial Efficiency: Industrial efficiency can only be produced by the
application of scientific analysis to all aspects of the work in progress. The industrial
managementrole is to improve the system by eliminating chance and accidents.[6] *

taught their employees to improve performance. * The social... Show more content on

Each row of the chart corresponds to an individual machine or operator. These charts
do not indicate which tasks were to be done, however.
A novel method of displaying interdependencies of processes to increase visibility
of production schedules was invented in 1896 by Karol Adamiecki, which was
similar to the one defined by Gantt in 1903. However, Adamiecki did not publish his
works in a language popular in the West; hence Gantt was able to popularize a similar
method, which he developed around the years 1910 1915, and the solution became
attributed to Gantt. With minor modifications, what originated as the Adamiecki s
chart is now more commonly referred to as the Gantt Chart.[11][12]
Gantt Chart
A Gantt chart is a type of bar chart, developed by Henry Gantt in the 1910s, that
illustrates a project schedule. Gantt charts illustrate the start and finish dates of the
terminal elements and summary elements of a project. Terminal elements and
summary elements comprise the work breakdown structure of the project. Some
Gantt charts also show the dependency (i.e. precedence network) relationships
between activities. Gantt charts can be used to show current schedule status using
percent complete shadings and a vertical TODAY line as shown here.
Histrory:
The first known tool of this type was developed in 1896 by Karol Adamiecki, who
called it a harmonogram. Adamiecki published his chart in 1931, however, only in
Polish, which limited both its adoption and
Thematic Essay On The Killer Angels
Throughout the course of the Civil War around 620,000 lives were lost, of these
thousands upon thousands killed, about 51,000 died in the Battle of Gettysburg. The
Killer Angels by Michael Shaara documents the events during the Battle of
Gettysburg from the perspectives of 7 different men, on both sides, who fought
through the bloodiest battle in the Civil War. The central theme of The Killer Angels
centers around the concept that some decisions are difficult to make because they are
neither wrong nor right, as exemplified through Generals who make difficult
decisions on the battlefield, question the theology and morals of warfare, and are
forced to make decisions with an unknown outcome.
First, the theme that some decisions are difficult ... Show more content on

A very prominent example of this aspect of war was shown near the beginning of
the book as Brigadier General Buford arrived in Gettysburg early, and had to
decide whether or not to hold the ground and hope for reinforcements to avoid
getting slaughtered or leave it and risk defeat for the whole army. Buford lamented
to himself that If we made a stand here how long do you think we could hold?
Long enough for John Reynolds to get here with the Infantry? How long would
that take? Will Reynolds hurry?...But how long can you hold against Lee s whole
army? If it is the whole Army. These are two very good for brigades; you built them
yourself. Suppose you sacrifice them and Reynolds is late? For Reynolds will be
late. They re always late (Shaara, 40) This quote shows how Burford was forced to
make a decision, knowing that Reynolds may be late, but also that they will need
the high ground in the upcoming battle. This decision also required Buford to
question whether or not it was worth it to sacrifice the lives of his men for the good
of everyone else in the Army of the Potomac. Clearly, difficult decisions, with neither
a right nor wrong outcome were made throughout the course of The Killer Angels.
However, this theme also applies to the world
Cirrhotic Essay
Abstract P.P.I therapy is often used in patients with cirrhosis, sometimes, in the
absence of a specific indication (e.g.: acid related diseases), there are conflicting
reports for their use in cirrhotic patients. The dosage of most PPIs should be
reduced in cirrhotic as they are metabolized by the liver and associated with adverse
effects of prolonged use. We aimed to review strict indications and adverse effects
for their use in this group of patients. Keywords Proton pump inhibitors, liver

A short course for 10 days post EVL may be reasonable if we concern for ulcer
healing. However, high dose infusion (e.g., pantoprazole 8 mg/h) and prolonged
use in the absence of endoscopic procedures is not supported by the literature and
should be discouraged until evidence of benefit becomes available. (8) GERD
Functional studies showed decreased LES function with a low amplitude of acid
clearance and primary esophageal peristalsis in cirrhotics with large varices [9].
These phenomena could also be due to a mechanical effect of the varices. Cirrhotic
patients without EV have also esophageal motor disorders and mixed acid and bile
reflux as the main pattern whereas the cirrhosis itself was an important causative
factor. It is unclear whether this might contribute to bleeding from varices [8].
Data on management of GERD in cirrhosis are few, however, the indications of use
for PPIs may remain exactly the same also in patient with cirrhosis of the liver as
general population for the treatment of erosive esophagitis or in general the
pathology secondary to gastroesophageal reflux acid (10) Peptic ulcer and H. pylori
infection Prevalence of duodenal and gastric ulcers in patients with liver cirrhosis
increases as the disease progress[11] and this prevalence becomes higher in
decompensated cirrhosis than in compensated cirrhosis [12]. Currently, PPIs are the
mainstay treatment option of peptic ulcers in the

How Does John Steinbeck Present Crooks in of Mice and
Men...
How does John Steinbeck present the character of Crooks?
In the novel Of Mice and Men John Steinbeck, the author, uses the character of
Crooks to represent racism and symbolize the marginalization of the black
community occurring at the time in which the novel is set. Crooks is significant as
he provides an insight into the reality of the American Dream and the feelings of all
the ranchers: their loneliness and need for company and human interaction. Crooks
got his name from his crooked back, this suggests he represents something different
and he is not your average ranch hand. The reader has to decide whether Crooks
deserves sympathy, or if he is just a bitter, cruel and gruff stable buck.

However his tone was a little more friendly and I didn t mean to scare you gives us
the impression that Crooks has a kind heart under his blunt exterior.
Crooks brings into perspective the loneliness experienced by all the characters in
Of Mice and Men by saying a guy gets too lonely, an he gets sick. He is telling of
the need for human interaction, the need for company and the need for someone to
care and provide security. The oppression Crooks experiences in living in a barn
and not in the bunkhouse where he could play rummy as one of the group leads him
to this desperate plea to be realised as equal. Just because when he cuts himself, the
blood he bleeds is looked upon as different from a white perspective, this does not
mean he is not entitled to benefit from human nature. John Steinbeck is portraying
here the feelings of Americans of his day and age: their aloneness and their salvation
in the American Dream.
It becomes apparent that the treatment of Crooks has made him cynical. Whenever
the American Dream is mentioned he dismisses it. He says scornfully They come,
an they quit an go on......An never a god damn one of em gets it. This stark realism
gives us an impression that Crooks has absolutely no hope. However I remember
when I was a little kid....had a strawberry patch. Had an alfalfa patch....Used to turn

and tragedies. Despite both categories being so drastically different, playwrights
would often write both. Born circa 525 B.C.E., Aeschylus is one of the most notable

The Pros And Cons Of Collective Bargaining
In many ways the idea of collective bargaining is a democratic process. Collective
bargaining, a process of negotiation where employment conditions are decided
between the union and education officials, is a major tool teachers unions have use
to shape how schools are run. Union members pool their collective resources and
democratic voice to influence and improve their workplace conditions. These
negotiations allow teachers unions to obtain benefits that are written into labor
contracts which can have very serious implications for how schools are run. For
example, labor contracts may include restrictions on how many hours teachers are
allowed to work. If teachers were not allowed to bargain collectively, they would lose
most of their bargaining power and would be unable to shield themselves from
political budget cuts and austerity measures that often plague the teaching profession.
Teachers are constantly under pressure to produce high achievement levels, while
balancing pressure from educationofficials seeking to make government more
efficient by cutting teaching jobs, compensation, and benefits (Tucker 2012).
Teachers are citizens who have the right to influence the rules and regulations of their

Rising Action In George Connell And Finney s Most...
Most Interesting Plot Imagine a story with lots of action, well developed plot
structure, and interesting resolutions while teaching life lessons. This is the dream
of an enthusiastic reader. When reading a story, a reader looks for something that
will quickly engage his or her attention. Rising action in a story satisfies this need.
In Most Dangerous Game the main character faces many challenges, namely the
danger of being stalked by General Zaroff, an avid hunter who idolizes hunting and
has taken it to an extreme. Similarly, Tom in Contents of A Dead Man s Pocket
faces danger and possible death when he walks onto a high ledge. To help engage the
reader, Most Dangerous Game and Contents of A Dead Man s Pocket both use
thrilling,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both climaxes deliver anxiety to the reader through intense, exciting action. First,
the climax of Most Dangerous Game surprises the reader. A man, who had been
hiding in the curtains of the bed, was standing there. Rainsford! screamed the
general. How in God s name did you get here? Swam, said Rainsford. I found it
quicker than walking through the jungle (Connell 52). This climax is very
exciting and unexpected because the reader assumes Rainsford s fate when he
jumps off the cliff into the ocean. Now Rainsford confronts his hunter providing a
climax that leaves the reader with anxiety, prodding him or her to read on.
Contents Of A Dead Man s Pocket also leaves the reader with unease at the climax.
As Tom reaches for the paper on the dangerous ledge, the reader reaches with him.
He couldn t quite touch it, and his knees now were pressed against the wall; he
could bend them no farther (Finney 30). Uncertainty fills the reader s mind in a
similar way to Most Dangerous Game . In contrast Finney s climax comes earlier in
the story, which gives more time for the resolution of the story. These stories both
have breath taking climaxes, written to produce anxiety in the reader, nudging them
to read on. Finally, the resolution of the stories shows the main difference between
the two. Connell provides a dry resolution, giving few clues to the reader about the
fate of Zaroff. After Zaroff loses the game, Rainsford confronts Zaroff, and
Parapsychic Abilities Research Paper
If I could pick one superhuman ability, I would pick the ability to be parapsychic.
Having psychic abilities does it all: psychokinesis, telepathy, clairvoyance and
precognition.
I would have endless, infinite knowledge. I would be able to breach human
conscience and delve deep into the pits of human thinking. I could harbour the
entirety of human intelligence into my own little mind. Maybe this foreshadows
imminent doom. But I cannot help but be tempted by all these what ifs . What if I
knew all the most powerful secrets of the world? What if I could move human
relationships, for better or for worse, with just a single word?
People say knowledge is power but with great power comes greater responsibility. I
could stop wars with this ability, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would hold the lives of billions in my hands, and I could crush those lives with
the slightest twitch. That sheer power is so distant, it is almost unimaginable. For
to have all the knowledge of the world would mean to be like God, would it not? I
could be benign, or I could be cruel, and absolutely nothing could stand in my way.
That absolute freedom of will is what attracts me, what drives me to choose this
ability. I could be anyone, do anything.
But I would not be free from conscience. Would conscience allow me to execute
these selfish pleasures? These unthinkable deeds? I take back what I said, for
conscience of mind is the highest power. It masters all, and all minds suffer great
pain at the caprice of this thing. And if I were to have all these powers, yet have
nothing at the same time no purpose, no love, what good would these powers do me?
So with these powers I would enjoy life s little gifts. Enjoy the humour presented to
me by the oblivious ignorance of those around. Play small games on people, watch
them go around in circles, confused, then return to their usual routine of stupefaction.
I could do harm to mankind, yet I would not. I would choose to live out my days in

The Importance Of False Love In Sonnet 130 By William...
False love, desire, and beauty frail, adieu! Dead is the root whence all these fancies
grew, (Sir Walter Raleigh). Raleigh portrays the love of poets as false love, which is
similar to the way William Shakespeare describes it in Sonnet 130, where he mocks
the way other poets exaggerate their muses beauty. Though one would assume
Shakespeare wrote this sonnetto give to his mistress, he did not, as he was smart
enough to know she would never talk to him again if he did. He in fact wrote it to
mock Petrarchan sonnets which exaggerated beauty to the point where it was no
longer real and it was obvious the poet s lovewent no deeper than the skin of their
mistress. In the sonnet Shakespeare first appears harsh in criticizing his mistress
beauty, but as the sonnet progresses, he subtly reveals that his love for her is
unconditional to ultimately challenge society s cliched beliefs of love.
In the first quatrain and the start of the second, Shakespeare is rather harsh in the
way he describes his mistress which helps later develop how true his love for her
is. Shakespeare contrasts his mistress eyes to the sun and describes them as dull,
saying, my mistress eyes are nothing like the sun, (1). In the Elizabethan era, a
common beauty standard were bright eyes, which is why in many Petrarchan
sonnets writers describe their mistress eyes as bright as the sun. But that is an
exaggeration. Shakespeare, however portrays his mistress true features, though
they do not meet society s standards. This reveals that Shakespeare s love, unlike
many petrarchan poets , goes beneath his mistress skin. The use of juxtaposition
creates the critical tone Likewise, Shakespeare s harsh tone is prevalent in the first
quatrain. The speaker intensifies the critical attitude toward his mistress when he
ridicules the color and texture of her hair. In the Elizabethan era, a common beauty
standard was fair hair, which is why many poets would compare their mistress hair
to gold, but Shakespeare compares his mistress hair to black wires. He does this
with a harsh tone, not just saying her hair is not fair, but going to the extent to
describe her hair in the most offensive way, saying, If hairs be wires, black wires
grow on her

Mackie s would want to expand internationally for a number of reasons.
The UK market is relatively congested with a number of different companies

Jenny Saville Human Body
In this essay we will be looking at the ways contemporary artists represent the body.
And how we no longer look to art for idealist portrayals of the human form.Through
contemporary art the body has become a territory and vessel, which can transmit
ideas within our society. We will be exploring theories surrounding this topic,
particularly notes from Mulvey s The Gaze and Leo Bersani s The Freudian Gaze ;
where they have successfully pinpointed why society s depiction of the humanbody
has become romanticised and idealised. We have decided to analyse the work of

the one thing she is trying to subvert, this is because, unlike Sprinkle, who is a

sultry eyes, seductively parted lips and nakedness of Wilke in the S.O.S collection

However, Wilke s use of the gum vaginas on her face and body could be interpreted
as her way of understanding how an attractive artist, or any woman may be seen at

Fraley s Two Models Of Discontinuity In Attachment Theory
Although the social and cognitive mechanisms invoked by attachment theorists imply
that stability in attachment style may be the rule rather than the exception, these
basic mechanisms can predict either long run continuity or discontinuity, depending
on the precise ways in which they are conceptualized (Fraley, 2002). Fraley (2002)
discussed two models of continuity derived from attachment theorythat make
different predictions about long term continuity even though they were derived from
the same basic theoretical principles. Each model assumes that individual differences
in attachment representations are shaped by variation in experiences with caregivers
in early childhood, and that, in turn, these early representations shape the quality

Kyoto Inferno Essay
The Rurouni Kenshin : Kyoto Inferno is just as good as the first unlike some

its leading character Himura Kenshin also known as Hitokiri Battosai is very
admirable for he refuses in vowing to never kill again. This movie have the right mix
of being faithful with the plot and changing a little of the original storyline to be

police trying to make an example out of Hurricane but also the D.A. and the
overseeing judge. Keep in mind that during 1966 the United States was in the midst
of a historical transition as just two years earlier President Lyndon B. Johnson had
signed the Civil Rights Act outlawing all forms of discrimination against African
Americans and women, including racial segregation. The act created serious tension
among whites and blacks as a majority of whites refused to accept the change and the
blacks were free to fight back against those who refused. In the end the tension
provoked many hostile riots and fights to breakout all over the U.S. The year 1966
also marked the start of the Black Power movement, which was maintained until the
1970 s. The movement brought together black collective interest that consisted of
racial pride, political goals, establishment of other social institutions, and most
importantly a continued defense against racial oppression.
Why Ali Was A Fight For Peace And Justice Outside Of It
Many people in today s world may hear the name Muhammad Ali and associate that
with only a few things such as boxing, violence, or the G.O.A.T (Greatest of All
Time). But in fact Ali is much more than that, he is a gentle giant a very passive,
devote religious man, and a caring father of 9. Most do not know the side of Ali
that was willing to give up all the fame and money in the world, which was gained
from the violent sport of boxingbefore he would go against his religion and beliefs.
Sure Ali was a fighter, a man of violence inside the ring who fought nonviolently for
peace and justice outside of it (Gorservski and Butterworth).
In early 1960 s Ali seemed to be on top of the world he was an Olympic Gold
Medalist at age of 18 and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This decision of the Board confused and exasperated Ali. It endangered his career
that he valued and worked hard for and more significantly conflicted with his
devote religious and political beliefs seeing how Muslims don t believe in war
unless it is waged on them directly. The religion of Muslim is passive and god and
faith were number one in Ali s life. With provocation from mass media finally his
frustrations boiled to the top and manufactured the quote Man, I aint got no quarrel
with them Vietcong. That was it nine little words and Ali found himself in the
middle of a bitter domestic battle of religion, war, and law. The whole world know
knew what the heavyweight champion of the world thought about America s war. Ali
became a political representative in the African American struggle for impartiality
joined with the reaction against the War in Vietnam. Ali went from the most dearly
loved athlete to the nemesis of the athletic and political institution because of his
religious beliefs and opinions on war. Ali was an icon for this separated America
(Gorn 40 44).
Ali was a rebel, but a different kind of rebel he was a passive rebel without
intentions of being one he simply followed his faith nothing would make him steer
from his belief in god. Ali did not ignore conventional ethics. Ali was being disliked
because of he was Muslim and his views on the Vietnam War. Ali went outside the
Whites limits of tolerability in his beliefs because it did not agree with the

Is God Real?
Have you ever wondered if God exists? Do you have faith and know he s there or
just don t believe in him at all? I believe that God doesn t exist for numerous
reasons. There are however, people who put all of their faith into what they believe
in, whether it s one God or many gods and goddesses.
Those who say that God does exist address that he does many good and pure things
for people. God is said to have created everyone equally which is one of the few facts
that I cannot argue with because there is no way to verify or disprove this fact.
However, some people who believe in God say that He decides who lives and who
dies. If that is true, then why does God make some good
The World with Journalism
Career Research Project Essay
Without journalism, we would not be living the life we have today. At the end of
the 20th Century there was a poll on what was the greatest invention of the last
millennium. The top invention was the printing press invented by Guttenberg. The
reason for the selection was the written word preserved knowledge. Prior to this
everything we learned was passed by word of mouth. Many disasters and disease
caused knowledge to be lost. Essentially mankind had to relearn things over and over
again.
Journalism has been around since before the printing press was even invented.
People have always, naturally spread information. There were many peoples who
had elders who would give the oral history of their people and who would tell
heroic tales. Homer told the story of the Iliad for the Greeks. African chiefs told tales
of bravery of their peoples. The same occurred throughout the World from the
American Indians, the Mayas and Aztec to the Aboriginals of Australia. Journalism is
the passing of knowledge and ideas between people.
From the creation of the printing press and Gutenberg s Bible, print journalism
evolved to include included reporting in newspapers, magazines and anything else
that is printed. Print journalism later expanded to broadcast journalism,
photojournalism, gonzo journalism and many other forms of journalism.
For example there are reporters who report news. This type of journalism can be news
reporting for business, news, human

Violence And Violence Among Teens
Chapter five was centered around the kinds of violence and abuse. They consist of
bullying, child abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse, hazing, sexual abuse, sexual
harassment, sexual assault, and rape. Abuse is physical or emotional harm to
someone. The most common abuse come from people you know and trust, such as
family members, friends, boyfriends, or girlfriends. Violence is any physical force
that is used to harm people or damage property. We see violence on TV, in movies,
in the newspaper, in video games, in our schools, and our own homes. We are
surrounded by violence. Section one focused more on how to avoid dangerous
situations that can lead to violence and ways to resolve a conflict without being
aggressive and using violence. Section two talks about the kinds of abuse and the
effects they have on a person. Section three is about the different forms that sexual
abuse can present itself.
There are many factors that can lead to violence among teens. The stress from
feeling threatened can sometimes lead to violence. Stress can be a big factor in
how you respond to situations. Being very tired or living in an overcrowded area
can cause a person to be more irritable and act out with anger. With unmanaged
anger comes lack of respect for others, which can lead to conflict. Having negative
opinions about people because of their race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or how they
dress are ways of being disrespectful. This can also be known as bullying. Bullying is
scaring

Jewish People After The Holocaust
There was a time when Jewish people s lives were in great danger. It was incredibly
hard if you were Jewish at that time since many people died. Eleven million people
died during the Holocaust. The Jewish population at this time was 9.5 million and six
million of them died. Can you imagine what it was like to live through that? The
treatment of Jewsthroughout Europe up through the 1940s was terrible and horrific.
The jews were treated dreadfully before, during and after the Holocaust.

The Jewish people were not treated like they should of been so I m going to tell you
about how they were treated in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and Germany. In
Western Europe they were much nicer to the Jews they gave them shelter food and
helped them get back on there feet. Here is a quote from the United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum website from before the Holocaust There they were
housed in hundreds of refugee centers and displaced persons (DP) camps such as
Bergen Belsen in Germany. The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation
Administration (UNRRA) and the occupying armies of the United States, Great
Britain, and France administered these camps. A considerable number and variety
of Jewish agencies worked to assist the Jewish displaced persons. The American
Jewish Joint Distribution Committee provided Holocaust survivors with food and
clothing, while the Organization for Rehabilitation through Training (ORT)
offered vocational training. Refugees also formed their own organizations, and
many labored for the establishment of an independent Jewish state in Palestine.
The western countries were much nicer they helped Jewish people get shelter and
food. In Eastern Europe they were horrible to the Jews like in poland they had
many riots over 42 Jewish people died and a lot more were beaten they also had
parades about hating the Jews. Here is a quote from the United States Holocaust
Memorial Museum website from before the Holocaust Some who returned home
feared for their lives. In postwar Poland, for example, there were a number of
pogroms (violent anti Jewish riots). The largest of these occurred in the town of
Kielce in 1946 when Polish rioters killed at least 42 Jews and beat many others.
that shows that the Jews weren t like they should of been treated. In Germany the
Jewish people were scared to go back so they migrated west for food

she and Bill Clinton moved into the White House. When Bill Clinton became
president, Hillary Clinton got an office in the West Wing of the White House

The Importance Of Communication In The Workplace
In a globalised business environment, communication skills are one of the most
important parts at the multicultural business workplace. It is common for an
American working in China and a British to administer a group of Italians.
According to Ely Thomas, workplace diversity will improve the organisations
outcome and produce more creative suggestions (2001, p. 229). By operating in a
divers workplace, many international businessenterprises consist of different
nationalities and speak different languages. Communicationis the main features of
business organisations also will enhance business performances (Rogerson Revell,
2007). Therefore, effective communication in the multicultural workplace is very
crucial, good communication skills can bring more opportunities for the business and
reach the business goals. Seidlhofer claims that business English as a lingua franca is
used as the language for those whose mother language is not English to communicate
(2005, p.229).
Consequently, international business organisations are using English as a lingua
franca and it will be easier for non native English speakers and native English
speakers to understand each other better. Furthermore, Rogerson Revell points out
that a lot of non native English speakers feel comfortable to use English to
communicate (2007). Thus, in the international business organisation colleagues can
use English as common language to communicate, attend meeting and discuss in
some small groups.

Succinate Dehydrogenase Lab
Introduction
In this Succinate Dehydrogenase (SDH) project, we were expected to learn the
process of cell fractionation, the importance of the Bradford assay, how enzymes
work what factors affect them, how to adequately micropipette, how to generate a
proper hypothesis and test it, and finally, interpret our results and write a conclusion
which answers the central question of this lab: how will the assigned reagent affect
SDH activity?
The SDH project was completed over a span of three weeks, where we had a
primary concentration each week that revolved around a core principal of this
project. In week two, which was the first week of this project, we blended and
centrifuged our cell fractions in order to isolate them, and then we used a sample ...

absorbance. We graphed the results from the Bradford Assay on excel and created a
linear standard curve and equation for it, which was used to determine the protein
concentration in our cellular fractions. The data from the cellular fractions was
used to discover the amount of specific SDH activity in lysates. Furthermore, we
also conducted the SDH assay in order to gain proper and knowledgeable
experience about how to assess SDH activity for our crude and mitochondrial
cellular fractions, and we also worked with enzymes to further learn about how they
work and how they are affected through various factors. The second week of this lab
was rather heavy; it had many components to it, each equally important for our end
result and conclusion. The concentration in week two was on the Bradford assay,
which was imperative since it measured protein concentration, and practicing with the
SDH assay, which measured the activity of our crude and mitochondrial fractions,
and was therefore vital in the final week of the project.
During the final week of the project, we performed the SDH assay twice to test our
hypothesis and answer the primary question of this project: the impact of the
assigned reagent (Malonate for us) on SDH activity in our mitochondrial fraction.
Week three s concentration was on correctly performing the SDH assay twice in
order to minimize human error, and to interpret our data for our lab

The School System And Education Essay
Education has taken a different course throughout the years. The way the educational
system was set to be performed differs than how it is practiced today. The system has
become more advanced in the ways of which are important when it comes to
educating a student. In one of the ways which the system has improved and became
more advanced was by first hiring higher educated teachers who meet the exact
requirements, and then the environment for learning becoming safer and more
appropriate for students who want to learn. Although, the school system drastically
changed and educationbecame more common and important to a vast majority of
society, it does not necessarily mean the public school system perfected their ways of
providing education. The system is still filled with flaws that seems to be affecting
students, teachers, and the school as a whole. These flaws that are well alive in the
public school system are directed to the ones who cause these flaws the school
district. The issues happening in the public school system deeply alters the way the
students are being taught, even disturbs the way the teacher is teaching and lecturing.
Without having the proper support needed, the students wouldn t be able to fulfil
their full potential in learning. Although, comparing the school system from its initial
era, it is believed that the school system today has drastically changed for the better,
and could still use some improvements. The issues occurring in the current school
Spanish and English Exploration Essay
*********** HS 201 005 Paper #1 Sept. 8, 2010 Spanish and English had similar
motivations for exploration of the New World, such as gaining land, goods from
the natives, and gold. However, their motivations also differ greatly. The Spanish
conquistadors also gained slaves from the native people, as well as spreading the
word of Christianity. The English settlers came to the New World to get away from
the religious oppression in England and to practice religion freely, and to grow
tobacco to send back to England. The Spanish gained much more land quickly
because, upon landing in places like the Caribbean and Brazil, because of their
conquering and enslaving of the natives. The English came to the New World much

Eventually one of Cortes men led a massacre of the Mexican nobles, and murdered
Montezuma. These conquests led to other conquests with the motivation of more
gold and more land. Another conqueror, Francisco Pizarro, also led his men to
capture an emperor, Atahualpa of the Incans, and held him for a ransom of silver
and gold. With this gold and silver, as well as land, they executed Atahualpa. These
violent raids proved beneficial to the Spanish, helping them spread their conquered
land further south in the Americas. This quest made the Spanish not only rich in
silver and gold, but in land and with slaves, by use of violent force. The English
had similar motivations to that of the Spanish, and were even inspired by the
success of the Spanish conquistadors to come to the New World and settle on new
land. However, the motivations differed greatly as well. The English hoped to
provide jobs for people in the New World that could not find them in England, also
in hopes of helping England s economy. The colonists set up a colony at Jamestown
to defend themselves against the Indians, and eventually Powhatan s people came
forward to open the trade of corn with the colonists. This corn eventually kept the
colonist alive until another ship of more people and supplies came in. This
however, did not prepare the colonists for the winter of 1609 1610, or the starving
time , when only 60 of the original

  • 2. Environmentalism In Pope Francis Pope Francis describes a relentless exploitation and destruction towards environmental discomfort, for which he blamed apathy from the pursuit of profitable faith in political as well as technological injustice. The Laudato Si unambiguously accepts scientific causes that impacts the climate that were beneficially man made, stating climate change is a global problem with grave implications: environmental, social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods . Representing one of the principals that challenges humanity. After great anticipation, Pope Francis determined and faced the difficulties of climate change and pleaded for justice, to enter into dialogue with all people about our common home. The Pope reaches for new conclusions and is calling for a spiritual transformation and a solid connection to Earth s ecosystems. The Laudato Si is different, as it is not addressed specifically to the one beliefs with additional groups added. Pope Francis invites the people of the world to a dialogue on the subject of environmentalism. Pope Francis has written Laudato Si as caring for creation is something that is close to his heart. More fundamentally, Pope Francis believes that there are substantial ecological complications today that must be addressed. They include not only problems in the natural environmentbut also in the humansphere, particularly among the disadvantaged. Pope Francis wrote the encyclical, dated 24 May 2015 and was officially published at on 18

Anyway, people don t know the name of it. Well, we refer to the Grommet here. Are you confused now? OK, go to your bathroom and take a closer look at the bathtub curtain! The curtain moves along the bar on which it is on thanks to a few metal rings. We call those metal rings; Grommet. You can see similar items on your shoes. While it is difficult to which is the best from aluminum and stainless steel, aluminum is definitely better than ordinary steel. So, can be used for outdoor applications and for where water and moisture are present. * Ductility: Well, this benefit is enjoyed by the Grommet manufacturers. When compared to steel, aluminum is more ductile, hence easy to roll, processed, and stamped. In other words, aluminum makes the manufacturing process easy and practical. * Lightness: The high weight is the top downside of steel grommets. Aluminum, on the other hand; is three times lighter than steel, making it suitable for applications where weight reduction is necessary. So, installing 3 aluminum grommets adds the same weight as adding one steel

Redness, swelling, increased heat and pain are the four cardinal signs of this inflammatory response. The skin barrier was primarily damaged due to the tick bite. The tick was embedded into the skin. The skin is a natural mechanical barrier, and the first line of defense for the body. When this injury occurred to the body, a secondary line of defense was initiated. The typical representation of a female is to be loving, innocent and a mother. This is what each gender s representation usually was back then. Nowadays, the representation of each males and females has changed. More and more males are taking on the jobs of women as in being the one to take care of and spend the most time with the kids. They keep fighting to earn the same amount of money for the same job that a man works. Some states have their male employees earn just a little bit more money than the female employee of the state. a majority of women do not like the idea and are wanting to fight back so they can get all the money that they earned just like any man of the state should earn. The youth girls of America are the people who the feminists are trying to target and tell them they can do whatever they want if they work hard for it. This audience of people they try targeting because they know they are obviously the future of America and when they grow up to keep fighting for feminism, they will be stronger because they got a good taste of it their whole lives growing up. Boys are told to be strong, manly, independent and to provide for women and children. Girls are told to be loving for their children and to be depended of a man. This was the norm until recently feminism has taken over for girls to grow up and be what they want to be. The gender representation of women has changed to, if they wanted, strong and independent for themselves so they do not have to depend on a man for a good living. The reasons for the break up were the man s persistent substance abuse problem, and a rumored affair with his ex in Monaco while his baby mama was celebrating the 4th of July with family and friends in California. These factors combined with Kardashian s suspicion that he cheated on her with other women was the last straw and her dawning wake up call. Google Checkout is reinforcing its customers with one of the biggest online companies in the world, which is Google itself. An anchor is a specific word which represents behaviors classically conditioned to evoke a specific response. This response can be cognitive or behavioral. An anchor does not need to be to be reinforced with its response and it does not need to be conditioned over a period of time. Language is a common anchoring system. For example, the word dog will be an auditory anchor to an image of four legged animal that barks, an effective anchor with little cognitive effort. The smell of a hospital or a family member screaming in anger is examples of anchors that have been unintentionally installed and they operate out of an individual s awareness and direct control. Neuro Linguistic Programming operates to install new anchors which work just as well as these unintentional anchors and work toward evoking a response that increases the behavioral flexibility of a person and it is through these anchors that changes can be made in the strategies of thought. Using NLP a therapist can establish a map of one s cognitive representation of the world and place anchors that be established in a clients strategies that provoke responses that differ from those expected using their original strategy. It is now used internationally used by millions of people throughout the world in such diverse fields as management, sales, marketing, public relations, education, therapy, the military and police, sport, and personal development. A novel method of displaying interdependencies of processes to increase visibility of production schedules was invented in 1896 by Karol Adamiecki, which was similar to the one defined by Gantt in 1903. However, Adamiecki did not publish his works in a language popular in the West; hence Gantt was able to popularize a similar method, which he developed around the years 1910 1915, and the solution became attributed to Gantt. With minor modifications, what originated as the Adamiecki s chart is now more commonly referred to as the Gantt Chart.[11][12] Gantt Chart A Gantt chart is a type of bar chart, developed by Henry Gantt in the 1910s, that illustrates a project schedule. Gantt charts illustrate the start and finish dates of the terminal elements and summary elements of a project. Terminal elements and summary elements comprise the work breakdown structure of the project. Some Gantt charts also show the dependency (i.e. precedence network) relationships between activities. Gantt charts can be used to show current schedule status using percent complete shadings and a vertical TODAY line as shown here. Thematic Essay On The Killer Angels Throughout the course of the Civil War around 620,000 lives were lost, of these thousands upon thousands killed, about 51,000 died in the Battle of Gettysburg. The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara documents the events during the Battle of Gettysburg from the perspectives of 7 different men, on both sides, who fought through the bloodiest battle in the Civil War. The central theme of The Killer Angels centers around the concept that some decisions are difficult to make because they are neither wrong nor right, as exemplified through Generals who make difficult decisions on the battlefield, question the theology and morals of warfare, and are forced to make decisions with an unknown outcome. First, the theme that some decisions are difficult ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A very prominent example of this aspect of war was shown near the beginning of the book as Brigadier General Buford arrived in Gettysburg early, and had to decide whether or not to hold the ground and hope for reinforcements to avoid getting slaughtered or leave it and risk defeat for the whole army. Buford lamented to himself that If we made a stand here how long do you think we could hold? Long enough for John Reynolds to get here with the Infantry? How long would that take? Will Reynolds hurry?...But how long can you hold against Lee s whole army? If it is the whole Army. These are two very good for brigades; you built them yourself. Suppose you sacrifice them and Reynolds is late? For Reynolds will be late. They re always late (Shaara, 40) This quote shows how Burford was forced to make a decision, knowing that Reynolds may be late, but also that they will need the high ground in the upcoming battle. This decision also required Buford to question whether or not it was worth it to sacrifice the lives of his men for the good of everyone else in the Army of the Potomac. Clearly, difficult decisions, with neither a right nor wrong outcome were made throughout the course of The Killer Angels. However, this theme also applies to the world

However, high dose infusion (e.g., pantoprazole 8 mg/h) and prolonged use in the absence of endoscopic procedures is not supported by the literature and should be discouraged until evidence of benefit becomes available. (8) GERD Functional studies showed decreased LES function with a low amplitude of acid clearance and primary esophageal peristalsis in cirrhotics with large varices [9]. These phenomena could also be due to a mechanical effect of the varices. Cirrhotic patients without EV have also esophageal motor disorders and mixed acid and bile reflux as the main pattern whereas the cirrhosis itself was an important causative factor. It is unclear whether this might contribute to bleeding from varices [8]. Data on management of GERD in cirrhosis are few, however, the indications of use for PPIs may remain exactly the same also in patient with cirrhosis of the liver as general population for the treatment of erosive esophagitis or in general the pathology secondary to gastroesophageal reflux acid (10) Peptic ulcer and H. pylori infection Prevalence of duodenal and gastric ulcers in patients with liver cirrhosis increases as the disease progress[11] and this prevalence becomes higher in decompensated cirrhosis than in compensated cirrhosis [12]. In the novel Of Mice and Men John Steinbeck, the author, uses the character of Crooks to represent racism and symbolize the marginalization of the black community occurring at the time in which the novel is set. Crooks is significant as he provides an insight into the reality of the American Dream and the feelings of all the ranchers: their loneliness and need for company and human interaction. Crooks got his name from his crooked back, this suggests he represents something different and he is not your average ranch hand. However his tone was a little more friendly and I didn t mean to scare you gives us the impression that Crooks has a kind heart under his blunt exterior. Crooks brings into perspective the loneliness experienced by all the characters in Of Mice and Men by saying a guy gets too lonely, an he gets sick. He is telling of the need for human interaction, the need for company and the need for someone to care and provide security. The oppression Crooks experiences in living in a barn and not in the bunkhouse where he could play rummy as one of the group leads him to this desperate plea to be realised as equal. Just because when he cuts himself, the blood he bleeds is looked upon as different from a white perspective, this does not mean he is not entitled to benefit from human nature. John Steinbeck is portraying here the feelings of Americans of his day and age: their aloneness and their salvation in the American Dream. It becomes apparent that the treatment of Crooks has made him cynical. Whenever the American Dream is mentioned he dismisses it. He says scornfully They come, an they quit an go on......An never a god damn one of em gets it. This stark realism gives us an impression that Crooks has absolutely no hope. However I remember when I was a little kid....had a strawberry patch. Had an alfalfa patch....Used to turn the chickens out on the alfalfa on a sunny morning reinforces the idea

Many were unsatisfied with the current tyranny of Hippias, and many worried that the tumultuous state of affairs left Greeceopen to attacks from invaders. • 21. The Pros And Cons Of Collective Bargaining In many ways the idea of collective bargaining is a democratic process. Collective bargaining, a process of negotiation where employment conditions are decided between the union and education officials, is a major tool teachers unions have use to shape how schools are run. Union members pool their collective resources and democratic voice to influence and improve their workplace conditions. These negotiations allow teachers unions to obtain benefits that are written into labor contracts which can have very serious implications for how schools are run. For example, labor contracts may include restrictions on how many hours teachers are allowed to work. If teachers were not allowed to bargain collectively, they would lose most of their bargaining power and would be unable to shield themselves from political budget cuts and austerity measures that often plague the teaching profession. Teachers are constantly under pressure to produce high achievement levels, while balancing pressure from educationofficials seeking to make government more efficient by cutting teaching jobs, compensation, and benefits (Tucker 2012). Teachers are citizens who have the right to influence the rules and regulations of their own workplace. Before the formation of teachers unions, teachers increasingly found themselves cut out of school boards and replaced by education professionals telling teachers how best to run their own classrooms (Kirst 2004). Collective bargaining gave teachers a

Most Interesting Plot Imagine a story with lots of action, well developed plot structure, and interesting resolutions while teaching life lessons. This is the dream of an enthusiastic reader. When reading a story, a reader looks for something that will quickly engage his or her attention. Rising action in a story satisfies this need. In Most Dangerous Game the main character faces many challenges, namely the danger of being stalked by General Zaroff, an avid hunter who idolizes hunting and has taken it to an extreme. Similarly, Tom in Contents of A Dead Man s Pocket faces danger and possible death when he walks onto a high ledge. Both climaxes deliver anxiety to the reader through intense, exciting action. First, the climax of Most Dangerous Game surprises the reader. A man, who had been hiding in the curtains of the bed, was standing there. Rainsford! screamed the general. How in God s name did you get here? Swam, said Rainsford. I found it quicker than walking through the jungle (Connell 52). This climax is very exciting and unexpected because the reader assumes Rainsford s fate when he jumps off the cliff into the ocean. Now Rainsford confronts his hunter providing a climax that leaves the reader with anxiety, prodding him or her to read on. Contents Of A Dead Man s Pocket also leaves the reader with unease at the climax. As Tom reaches for the paper on the dangerous ledge, the reader reaches with him. He couldn t quite touch it, and his knees now were pressed against the wall; he could bend them no farther (Finney 30). Uncertainty fills the reader s mind in a similar way to Most Dangerous Game . In contrast Finney s climax comes earlier in the story, which gives more time for the resolution of the story. These stories both have breath taking climaxes, written to produce anxiety in the reader, nudging them to read on. Finally, the resolution of the stories shows the main difference between the two. Connell provides a dry resolution, giving few clues to the reader about the fate of Zaroff. After Zaroff loses the game, Rainsford confronts Zaroff, and

  • 24. The Importance Of False Love In Sonnet 130 By William... False love, desire, and beauty frail, adieu! Dead is the root whence all these fancies grew, (Sir Walter Raleigh). Raleigh portrays the love of poets as false love, which is similar to the way William Shakespeare describes it in Sonnet 130, where he mocks the way other poets exaggerate their muses beauty. Though one would assume Shakespeare wrote this sonnetto give to his mistress, he did not, as he was smart enough to know she would never talk to him again if he did. He in fact wrote it to mock Petrarchan sonnets which exaggerated beauty to the point where it was no longer real and it was obvious the poet s lovewent no deeper than the skin of their mistress. In the sonnet Shakespeare first appears harsh in criticizing his mistress beauty, but as the sonnet progresses, he subtly reveals that his love for her is unconditional to ultimately challenge society s cliched beliefs of love. In the first quatrain and the start of the second, Shakespeare is rather harsh in the way he describes his mistress which helps later develop how true his love for her is. Shakespeare contrasts his mistress eyes to the sun and describes them as dull, saying, my mistress eyes are nothing like the sun, (1). In the Elizabethan era, a common beauty standard were bright eyes, which is why in many Petrarchan sonnets writers describe their mistress eyes as bright as the sun. But that is an exaggeration. Shakespeare, however portrays his mistress true features, though they do not meet society s standards. This reveals that Shakespeare s love, unlike many petrarchan poets , goes beneath his mistress skin. The use of juxtaposition creates the critical tone Likewise, Shakespeare s harsh tone is prevalent in the first quatrain. The speaker intensifies the critical attitude toward his mistress when he ridicules the color and texture of her hair. In the Elizabethan era, a common beauty standard was fair hair, which is why many poets would compare their mistress hair to gold, but Shakespeare compares his mistress hair to black wires. He does this with a harsh tone, not just saying her hair is not fair, but going to the extent to describe her hair in the most offensive way, saying, If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her

Kyoto Inferno Essay The Rurouni Kenshin : Kyoto Inferno is just as good as the first unlike some swordplay genre movies like Solomon Kane, The mask of Zorro, The Duelists, and The Vampire Hunt which are very brutal. The Rurouni Kenshin Kyoto Inferno and its leading character Himura Kenshin also known as Hitokiri Battosai is very admirable for he refuses in vowing to never kill again. This movie have the right mix of being faithful with the plot and changing a little of the original storyline to be consistent with the first. Every characteris well played by the actors. The costmes and the setting also added in setting the mood of the movie. For a whole major arc of the manga or anime squeezed into a two hour movie, The Rurouni Kenshin: Kyooto Inferno had made an impressive one. Much like Kenshin, Shishio is also an assassin before the Meiji Era but is betrayed and escaped his master s plan of his death. Rhetorical Analysis of “Hurricane” Rhetorical Analysis of Hurricane Martin Luther King once said, There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, popular, or political, but because it is right. The song Hurricane , written by Bob Dylan takes a stand and ignores what was safe, popular, and politically right during the 1960 s and 1970 s, in order to paint a picture of injustice. Dylan organizes the actual events of a man named Rubin Hurricane Carter who was a middleweight boxer wrongfully accused and convicted of a double homicide. To the white folks who watched he was a revolutionary bum and to the black folks he was just a crazy nigger. No one doubted that he pulled the trigger. And though they could not produce the gun, the D.A. said he was the one who did the deed and the all white jury agreed. In this verse Dylan is making a point that not only were the Patterson police trying to make an example out of Hurricane but also the D.A. and the overseeing judge. Keep in mind that during 1966 the United States was in the midst of a historical transition as just two years earlier President Lyndon B. Johnson had signed the Civil Rights Act outlawing all forms of discrimination against African Americans and women, including racial segregation. The act created serious tension among whites and blacks as a majority of whites refused to accept the change and the blacks were free to fight back against those who refused. In the end the tension provoked many hostile riots and fights to breakout all over the U.S. The year 1966 also marked the start of the Black Power movement, which was maintained until the 1970 s. The movement brought together black collective interest that consisted of racial pride, political goals, establishment of other social institutions, and most importantly a continued defense against racial oppression.

At the end of the 20th Century there was a poll on what was the greatest invention of the last millennium. The top invention was the printing press invented by Guttenberg. The reason for the selection was the written word preserved knowledge. Prior to this everything we learned was passed by word of mouth. Many disasters and disease caused knowledge to be lost. Essentially mankind had to relearn things over and over again. Journalism has been around since before the printing press was even invented. People have always, naturally spread information. There were many peoples who had elders who would give the oral history of their people and who would tell heroic tales. Homer told the story of the Iliad for the Greeks. African chiefs told tales of bravery of their peoples. The same occurred throughout the World from the American Indians, the Mayas and Aztec to the Aboriginals of Australia. Journalism is the passing of knowledge and ideas between people. From the creation of the printing press and Gutenberg s Bible, print journalism evolved to include included reporting in newspapers, magazines and anything else that is printed.
