Speech Writing Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Speech Writing" poses a unique set of challenges that
demands a blend of creativity, rhetorical skill, and a profound understanding of effective
communication. The difficulty lies not only in conveying information but in constructing a
narrative that captivates an audience and leaves a lasting impact.
One of the primary challenges is striking the right balance between substance and style. The
content must be informative and persuasive, conveying a clear message while also being
engaging and memorable. Achieving this balance requires a deep understanding of the topic, as
well as a keen awareness of the intended audience and their expectations.
Additionally, the art of speech writing requires a mastery of language and rhetoric. Crafting
sentences that flow seamlessly, using persuasive techniques, and employing rhetorical devices to
enhance the overall impact are all essential elements. The difficulty is not merely in putting words
on paper but in choosing the right words to elicit the desired emotional response from the
audience.
Furthermore, there is the challenge of tailoring the speech to the speaker's voice and style.
Whether writing for a political figure, a business executive, or a ceremonial occasion, capturing
the essence of the speaker while maintaining a professional tone is no small feat.
Research is another integral aspect that adds to the complexity of the task. A well-rounded essay
requires thorough research to ensure accuracy and credibility. This involves delving into the
subject matter, understanding different perspectives, and incorporating relevant examples to
strengthen the arguments.
In conclusion, the difficulty of writing an essay on "Speech Writing" lies in the intricate interplay
of language, persuasion, and understanding of the audience. It demands a writer's ability to
navigate the nuances of effective communication while tailoring the content to suit the specific
context. Crafting a compelling speech on paper is not just about the words; it's about creating an
experience that resonates with the audience.

Reflection On Mindfulness
I have a somewhat regular, yet sincere contemplative mindfulness practice that helps
me understand why I experience life the way I do both internally and externally. I get
to see my own urges, those I m not really aware of such as the urge to multi task.
Practicing mindfulness meditation and other mindfulness practices I learned to
become in touch with my own urges and to control them through awareness and self
discipline. So, here are a few reflections for your coffee time. As you sip on your
deliciously made aromatic coffee, tea or hot cocoa accept these thoughts for your
reflection.
Finally, at the 3rd mindfulness class I took with Daniel, I decided to do the
homework he had suggested to everyone, which was to do one thing we do routinely
during the day, mindfully. That is to be with the experience of it and fully giving it
our undivided attention. For example, if we chose brushing our teeth, he said, to
brush slowly, feel every stroke as the brush moved around the mouth, what it felt like,
the taste of the tooth paste, what the mind was doing; observe everything about that
experience, while also focusing on our breath. This was our mindfulness ... Show

I had to find out. Hence, this became my mindfulness exercise for my homework.
Oh boy, was I in for a huge lesson in getting to know how I went about living life...
while I stayed with my pita bread to heat it up I followed the instructions of my
teacher, feeling all my feelings, being with the experience, being with my breath,
etc. I observed how absolutely difficult it was for me to just do one thing at a time.
I saw how I could not stay put for twenty seconds to finish this task. The urge to run
and do other things was overwhelming. I d leave the stove to get something from the
fridge, to wash vegetables, cut them, put on music and so many other things while
leaving the bread on the fire and rushing to turn it over in between all those other
tasks. And of course, it would burn
Maritime Archaeology And Ancient Trade
In Maritime Archaeology and Ancient Trade in the Mediterranean, Andrew Wilson
argues that ancient maritime trade peaked in the Hellenistic and Roman periods.
First, he identifies Parker s graph of known shipwrecks as inaccurate evidence on the
trade intensity of the ancient maritime world. Next, Wilson details several
technologies, specifically the bilge pump, and hydraulic cement, that enabled the
expansion of trade during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. Finally, Wilson
concludes that it was Roman standardization of currency and language, not new
technologies, that allowed trade to increase in the ancient world. When the Roman
empiredeteriorated, trade decreased, leading to the loss of harbors and shipping
technologies.
In 1992, A.J. Parker published a study of known shipwrecks organized by their
approximate century in which the ships sank. As a result, many archaeologists have
attempted to equate this graph with fluctuations in ancient maritime trade, depending
upon the assumptions that each period had an equal probability of ships wrecking,
and that wrecks from all periods are equally visible to archaeologists. Wilson
disagrees, claiming that these assumptions are inherently flawed, and therefore, the
graph cannot be used to analyze ancient maritime trade. First, the risks of wrecking
were dependent upon the trade routes, which, in turn, were dependent on what items
were highly sought after (Wilson, 36). If products from nearby coastal cities were
desired, then
Barack Obama s President Obama
As stated in the Constitution of the United States, the President shall from time to
time give to the Congress information of the State of the Union, and recommend to
their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient. Since
1947, this constitutionally mandated address has become known as the State of the
Union Address. President Barack Obama continued this tradition in his final State of
the Union Address to Congress and the American citizens on January 12, 2016. In his
desire to create a legacy that reached beyond his administration, President Obama
focused on four key topics for America s future: opportunity in the future economy;
utilizing technology for progress; keeping America safe while regulating foreign
policy? and reforming American politics for future administrations. Although
President Obama s 2016 address tendered several suggestions for shaping America s
future economy, education, sustaining employee benefits, and investing in clean
energy emerged as prominent ways to secure the economy for future generations. In
his statement real opportunity requires every American to get the education and
training they need to land a good paying job, President Obama emphasizes the
paramount affect that job training and education has on the American economy.
President Obama s speech reflects a belief that for American citizens to continue to
have opportunities, they must be trained for those opportunities. They must be
trained for the
The Importance Of Life In My Life
Life is like a game of volleyball, unpredictable yet predictable at the same time. The
game of volleyball reflects the same ideas of what happens in my life. Thus, I
created a setup of a volleyball game inside a shadow box to represent the parts of
who I am. I made the volleyball net with white plastic canvas mesh, court lines with
ribbon and players with some of my favorite pictures in the past. I chose this type
of model because there are multiple sides to it. Only one side of it can be shown at
a time but they are all there, this relates to how I present myself to others. In my
opinion, the most meaningful part to the model is the frame. This represents my
foundation, the part that makes me who I am. My parents have taught me
important things in life like character and work ethic from their own experiences.
Both of my parents lead strong examples for my sister and I. They have always
shown me how to be the bigger person by caring for one another and doing the right
and honest thing. For example, if a cashier forgets to scan an item my parents will
either tell the cashier there is another item to scan or go back through the line to
check out. Work ethic is also very important because my parents say, that s where
success begins . Ever since I was a little kid, things haven t come easy to me. I work
hard for everything I do, I m a person who goes the extra mile on each homework
assignment and studies for every single test. My parents give me inspiration and
drive to do
Cma 76ers Research Paper
17. Philadelphia 76ers USA TODAY Sports The Philadelphia 76ers just completed
their second straight season with fewer than 20 wins, and that was unfortunately
the goal. To the confusion of many NBA fans, this simply means that everything is
going to plan in the city of brotherly love. General manager Sam Hinkie, is sticking
to his rebuilding plan of asset collecting, and it is bound to pay off for Philly at some
point. The question is; how long will it take for the 76ers to finally build a
respectable team? The biggest X factor for the Sixers is second year big man Joel
Embiid. Embiid is one of the rare players that has the distinct possibility of being
out of the league or a top 10 player in the NBA five years from now. After missing
his entire rookie season with a foot injury, Embiid will be forced to miss another
season after aggravating his foot. It would be a big boost for the Sixers future if
Embiid could come back and avoid being labeled the next Greg Oden. Despite not
having Embiid s services this season, the 76ers will still have two very talented
young big men in Jahlil... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Okafor does need to improve in these areas, people are forgetting what an
incredible talent Okafor is. Okafor has a polished post game for just a one and
done player. Not many players can walk into the NBA as a rookie and average 18
points and 8 rebounds, but Okafor has that potential. Nerlens Noel made his much
anticipated debut for Philly last season after missing the entire 2013 14 campaign
with a torn ACL. Noel averaged 11.6 points and 9.5 rebounds on his way to All
Rookie First Team honors. The most impressive part of Noel s game is his
versatility on the defensive end. Noel has the speed to switch onto perimeter threats
and is an outstanding rim protector. Noel accomplished the rare feat of finishing in
the top 10 in both steals and blocks per

every business is to acquire and retain customers; e commerce business is no

up with these trends is beneficial for online businesses because early adoption of
latest technology provides a leading edge over the competition. Inversely neglecting
new market and technology trends will eventually result in a major setback. It is
hard to predict the future concerning e commerce technology. However, we think
these four trends will particularly make an impact in 2018. Regardless of what you

Richard Wright s Short Stories Richard was born, raised, and grew up in a difficult
period of life. However, when Wright was sixteen, a short story of his was
published in a Southern African American newspaper. After leaving high school,
Wright worded a few odd jobs, but still showed his true love for writing. In 1927,
Wright decided to pack up his belongings and head to Chicago. A short ten years
later, Richard moved to New York City, where he was told it would be easier
getting published. One year later, Wright s first book was published. Since then,
Wright has wrote a number of books, series and short stories until he died in 1960.
With that being said, Richard Wright s short stories, The ManWho Was Almost A
Man and Big Boy Leaves Home were both written to show what coming with age and
responsibility truly mean.
The Man Who Was Almost A Man
After a hard day at work, seventeen year old Dave heads across the fields for home,
still thinking about some of the problems he had been facing with some other field
help that day. He wants to prove to the others that he is not a child, anymore. Mebbe
Ma will lemme buy one when she gits mah pay from ol man Hawkins. Ahma beg her

The Theme of “The Alchemist,” by Paulo Coelho
Essay
The Theme of The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho is, always follow your dreams and
listen to your heart. At the start of the novel Santiago does not know what he should
do when he is confronted by his dream. But by the end of the novel Santiago
completely trusts his heart to guide him though life. Santiago s story shows him
learning and living out the theme of the novel.
I think Paulo passed on his message about following your heart quite well. Through
Santiago he showed that you must endure some hardship before you are rewarded
for your efforts. I think I will always remember Santiago s journey and the lessons he
learned along the way. I enjoyed watching Santiago grow and learn from the
experiences he gained through his journey to find ... Show more content on

Several years later, Santiago had enough money to journey back home but he decided
he should continue on his journey despite his past experiences. I m not sure I could
do the same thing as Santiago.
I believe that this novel was meant to be read by people who are old enough to
understand different struggles people sometimes need to endure to achieve goal. If
someone were not to understand this concept then the novel would be empty, for
them.
The most interesting thing I found about the novel was the way Paulo build up
Santiago s hopes and then destroyed them. Paulo not only did this several times but
he also chose to do it right after Santiago thought he had learned a lesson about life.
Most books I have read don t build up and destroy the main characters hopes so
perniciously.
I find that Santiago s journey is fairly unlikely to ever occur in real life. At the end of
the novel, Santiago digs for his treasure but finds nothing, however the one man in
the world that would tell him another place so search just so happens to be right
there waiting. The odds of this happening are very low at best. Another thing that is
impossible to occur in real life is someone turning lead into gold. This is not
something that could be done.
I would defiantly recommend this book to a friend or a family member. I fervently
enjoyed The Alchemist, and I think that most people would enjoy reading about
Santiago. The novel is universal in its ability to tell a story and
Imbalance Of Power In Prison
The imbalance of power in prison is caused by the control the guards have over the
prisoners. Add interesting quotes later and some smart sounding stuff.
Women in prison are getting abused and controlled by the guards. The women are
getting simple rights taken away in a multitude of ways, especially their
reproductive and parental rights. The prisoners don t have proper medical care and
are getting basic necessities taken away by the guards. They are being sexually
harassed and raped by guards. In prison, one in four women are being sexually
abused.
The guards in women s prisons don t respect and try to control the reproductive
rights of the women. It is extremely difficult for women to get abortions, if it is even
possible. Jails and prisons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The power dynamics in prison severely disadvantage the prisoner, who is at the
absolute mercy of her guards and correctional officers, relying on them for
necessities such as food and for the small privileges and luxuries such as cigarettes.
Guards have unlimited access to prisoners and their living environment, including
where they sleep and where they bathe. (Summer 2010). The guards can take away
whatever they want, whether it be little luxuries, or basic necessities like food. They
also don t offer proper medical care, like this observation from a woman in prison I
didn t really complain if I was in pain or anything, because the infirmary was real
nasty. There was poo on the walls. (Waldman 30). That is unsanitary and if someone
is extremely sick, they could just get more sick from the infirmary that is supposed
to be helping people. The same woman said The doctors complained that I wasn t
getting enough water, vitamins, or fresh fruits, and that it could affect my baby s
brain. The county doesn t give you fruits, and it s not like I could go buy them.
(Waldman 30). This is putting both her health and the health of the baby in danger.
The jails should supply prenatal vitamins and fresh fruit. But right now, pregnant
women in prison get treated just the same as not pregnant women, which makes being
in prison much more
Gaining College Degree
While receiving a college degree the accumulation of debt is consequently
unavoidable in many cases, but being able to be economically stable will be worth it
once you earn your degree. Finding jobs that require you to have only a high school
education are becoming more and more uncommon. With acquiring a collegedegree,
you will be given the upper hand in the job market. The competition to find what is
called a good paying job is increasing, and is getting close to impossible to find a
high paying job without at least a bachelor s degree. according to data from the
Economic Policy Institute, graduates earned 98 percent more annually than non
college graduates... (is it worth it). These numbers make it hard to say no to a college
degree.

LGBT Rights
Marriage between lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders (LGBT) is referred
to as same sex marriage. It occurs when men and women are attracted to someone
of the same gender of themselves. However, some people denied the idea of it since
they believe it is going against the law of nature and violating certain beliefs and
traditions. LGBT people have faced injustice and discrimination and have been
fighting for their rights for decades to overcome prejudice against them which they
have finally received in 2015.
LGBT individuals has remained largely silent and unseen in American culture until
World War II ended. Many of them hid their unusual sexual orientation from the
society out of shame and fear. Gays who lived in cities often formed close social
networks with other gays while remaining a hidden subculture. During the 1940s
and 1950s, LGBT Americans earned many freedoms they had not previously
received. Their presence became more free flowing but still not widely accepted. In
the middle of 1950s, discrimination against LGBT individuals started to expand,
they have been kicked out of their jobs because of their sexual orientation.
Moreover, the homosexual lifestyle was considered as a threat to American security
in the 1960s as gay and lesbian were being harassed or raided at that time. However,
it was the turning point for the LGBT community in 1969 when the Stonewall riots
broke out. The Stonewall
Into the Wild
In Jon Krakuer s novel Into the Wild, the main character, Chris McCandless, seeks
nature so that he can find a sense of belonging and the true meaning of who he is.
However, it is the essence of nature that eventually takes his life away from him. At
the end of his life, he is discovers his purpose and need of other people. After Chris
McCandless death in Alaska, Krakuer wrote Into the Wildto reflect on the journey that
McCandless makes. Krakuer protrays McCandless as a young man who is reckless,
selfish, and arrogant, but at the same time, intelligent, determined, independent, and
charismatic. Along with the irony that occurs in nature, these characteristics are the
several factors that contribute to McCandless death.... Show more content on

He adds that В‘Alex didn t seem too worried and he wouldn t give an inch. He had
an answer for everything I threw at him (Krakuer 6). If Chris was properly
prepared he may have made it out of Alaska alive, rather than dying of starvation.
However, he traveled with cheap leather hiking boots, a .22 caliber that was to
small for the animals he planned to kill, a ten pound bag of rice, and clothing that
was minimal for the types of conditions that he would be encountering. Another
contributing factor of McCandless death reflects his lack of preparation, this
includes McCandless need for independence and his do it all myself attitude, along
with his arrogance. Chris is arrogant because he does not listen to anyone s advice.
Anyone that tries to offer Chris advice or help him along the way, he shuns away
from. For example, Krakuer states that Gallien offered to drive him Alex all the
way to Anchorage, buy him some decent gear, and then drive him back to
wherever he wanted to go. No thanks anyway, I ll be fine with what I ve got
(Krakuer 6). He was to arrogant and proud to take any advice from other people
because he felt that he could manage and survive without their help. Thus, because
of his arrogance he walked into the wild ill supported and paid for it with his life.
However at the end of his life, he realized that he did need people to
Life Worth Living
TITLE The simple question, What makes life worth living? Is a difficult question
to answer. The ways that we live our life have rippling effects on others around us,
so it is imperative to make correct choices that make life worth living. Everyone in
life also has different ideas of what makes life doable through hard difficult times
were perseverance is needed, and that s when we ask ourselves what makes life
worth living?, without a doubt waking up every morning, family, and the future
make life worth living. One of such ways of that makes life worth living is by
waking every morning, which gives a fresh new start, and a chance to have a

The feeling of love and a good stable are also very key points in stable good
standing family, but when a family has forgiveness for one another it goes beyond
any other understanding. The power of forgiveness in a family extends from as
small as forgetting someone s birthday to a huge mistake such as forgiving a family
member for crashing the family car. The three important factors all tie into the
reason of why family make life worth living. The exhilarating feeling of not
knowing the outcome of the future makes life more worth living. The outcome of
the future is always a ominous mystery which is what makes it so interesting but at
the same time we have a small control of what happens in the future, as the choices
we make will surely impact the outcome of the future that is chosen. The simpleness
of positive influxes in life can extend the thoughts of what we think that about in our
future s that make life worth living. Although the standard american dream is sought
to be the perfect future for every american due to the thoughts of having the nice
house, the dream job and the perfect house, but we miss the simple fact of how
every individual has a set future in mind that they want to make goals towards and
complete. Ideas of diverse futures are what makes futures so exciting and different

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM)
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a metabolic disorder in which there is less
production or utilization of insulin regardless of hyperglycemia in the body. It is
estimated that T2DM affected would rise from 30 million to probable 450 million in
the world by year 2030 [1]. Genetic and/or certain contributing factors play a vital
role in development of insulinresistance (IR) that further proceed towards T2DM [2].
Alarmingly, urbanization has diverged dietary intake [3], which accompanied with
lack of exercise and improper sleep would alter the evolutionary concept of
robustness with cell being exploited to experience IR [4,5]. However, there have been

Different Types Of Hemophili Blood Clotting
Hemophilia is a bleeding disorder. That slows the blood clotting process. People that
have Hemophilia bleed extremely after, having an injury, surgery, or just falling down.
Serious complications be very dangerous because, it can start bleeding into joints,
muscles, brain, and other internal organs. People with mild complications of
Hemophilia usually don t bleed spontaneously, but they won t bleed spontaneously,
until a surgery or serious injury.
There are three types of Hemophilia, Hemophilia A, B, and C. The process of blood

My Strengths And Weaknesses
In the current generation, there is not much to differentiate between a male and a
female when it comes to the perspective of responsibility. The aspect of strength
and weaknesses is something that cannot be used to state whether an individual is
a man or woman. Every individual has his or her set of weaknesses and a set of
things he considers his or her strength. Men and women the same, we all struggle
to maintain our lives and fight for the future. Life is somehow based on the rule of
the jungle where only the individuals with the ability and capability to do what it
takes succeeds. The moment that an individual s weaknesses overcome his
strength and the society realizes the same that is the moment an individual s world
is turned around. His or her sense of fight is lost, and he becomes a nobody in the
society. However, the modern generation has realized that weaknesses are only
weaknesses if you allow them to be. I am at the age of thirty now, already
graduated and very ready to pursue my life dreams. In fact, I have started that
journey. In the journey, however, I the role that my strengths play in achieving my
dreams and the weaknesses that I have that tends to draw me back in life. In this
document, I will be discussing myself stressing so much on my strengths and
highlighting my weaknesses. I know and understand perfectly well that my destiny
is always with me, right into my own hands and it is either I make a decision and
pursue it or rely on my weaknesses and let
Tobacco Products Control Act Of 1989 Essay
FACTS:
The Tobacco Products Control Act of 1989 sought to impose restrictions on the
promotion of tobacco products. These restrictions concerned limitations in three
commercial categories: advertisement, promotion, and labelling. Under the Act,
tobacco products cannot be advertised, and products must be labeled with viable
health warnings and a list of toxins. The packaging must be minimal, as to not be
ostentatious to persuade Canadians from buying. Furthermore, the Act would prohibit
the distribution of free samples. Appellants RJR Macdonald Inc. dissented, stating the
Act was a direct infringement upon the Charter s s.2 freedom of expression clause,
and appellant Imperial Tobacco Ltd. further dissented.

The Quebec Court of Appeal reversed this decision, raising two important questions:
whether or not Parliament possessed the legislative capability to impose the Act
under the criminal law power clause, and whether or not Parliament had infringed
upon the right of freedom of expression stated in s.2 of the charter, and if so, whether
or not this was justifiable under s.1.
La Forest, L Heureux DubГ©, Gunthier, and Cory J.J. dissented, stating the appeals
should be allowed and those questions raised answered. However, ss. 4
(advertisement), 8 (trademark use), and 9 (unattributed health warnings) of the Act
cannot be found to coincide with the right of freedom of expression and do not
present any limitations on that right. Furthermore, ss.5 (retail displays) and 6
(sponsorships) cannot be successfully removed from relating to ss. 4, 8, and 9, thusly
making all of no effect in relation to s.
Secrets Of The Tobacco Industry
Secrets of the Tobacco Industry
In Vanguard s documentary, Sex, Lies, and Cigarettes: Secrets of the Tobacco
Industry by director, Alex Simmons, Vanguard sends correspondent, Christof Putzel
to Jakarta, Indonesia to investigate the tobacco industry there. The documentary talks
about how America no longer allows cigarette and tobacco ads and commercials,
instead the country focuses scare tactic ads that stop people from smoking or keeps
them from starting. The tobacco industry is losing millions of dollars in America so
they re moving overseas to poorer countries like Indonesia to make their money
there. Putzel goes to see what all the tobacco industry is doing and how they re
corrupting the young people like the smoking baby , Aldi, as well as students of the
country.
The documentary is very clearly biased against big name tobacco companies like
Philip Morris International. During Putzel s travels he even goes to confront the
company, Philip Morris, and asks if all of the events that Philip Morris sponsors in
Indonesia follow the guidelines that say they do not market to minors (Plunkett and
Simmons 2011) and tries to get Anne Edwards, the spokesperson for Philip Morris
International, to even admit that they openly market to minors with their musical
guests like Flo Rida during their events as well as a new television show, A Mild

somewhere near the middle of the crowd, most of whom were on their feet. The
source gradually made his way to the front, pushing his way past about a dozen or

much. Gone were the pantaloons tied with string, the chest exposing open shirt,
the battered hat and bare feet. Now he was dressed in a new, brown tricorne, a long
black coat over black leather boots and a white shirt, decorated by a smart, black

Traditionally Linux security has been run using DAC ( Discretionary Access Control
), which is based on users and groups to control which users and processes can
access files and how they do it. This runs into a problem since the owner of a file
has control over its permissions which can be less than ideal. SELinux ( Security
Enhanced Linux ) implements MAC ( Mandatory Access Control ), which is under
the direct control of the systems administrator and is located in the kernel where it
can control and enforce security, giving only the permissions needed to processes and
users.
In the way of vulnerabilities I could not find much for SELinux, which is a
testament to the power of MAC. As secure as it may be, for most home users this
system is a bit complicated and can block services and make it look like a common
error, making troubleshooting problematic. I would still recommend using a firewall
in conjunction with SELinux as security is best utilized when it is layered in order to
make attacks more difficult.
Linux has a rich history of collaborations between different organizations and input
from users worldwide. This has led to a world class piece of open source software
that has proven itself to have both the reliability and security to provide the peace of
mind for users and corporations worldwide to use for day to day operations and

The Rudd Government
Recent Commonwealth Parliaments have confirmed that the ability of governments
to implement their mandates is more a function of the will of the Parliament than the
will of the people.
In recent years, the ability for governments to implement their mandates has shifted
from being a function of the people s will to that of parliament s. A mandate is the
authority provided by voters to a successful political party to pursue its policies in
parliament. Governments can justify their dominance of the lower house by arguing
the will of the people is expressed through elections. The government s electoral
victory produces a majoritarian mandate, and gives them the right to implement their
policies. In recent years, minor parties who hold the ... Show more content on

Firstly, a government s claim to a majoritarian mandate can reduce Australian
politics to an electoral democracy. The opposition might be able to criticise
government policy but according to this theory they have no right to amend, block
or delay government legislation. This reduces the role of members of parliament,
pressure groups and the media to simply channel public opinion. Broader
participation in the political process is limited by the government s claim to an all
powerful mandate. Furthermore, in recent parliaments, the will of the government
has been frustrated by the parliament. However, it is because of this fact it can be
argued parliament produces better legislation due to poor legislation being blocked.
Australia s two party dominance, reflecting the majority of people s will in the lower
house has been proven effective and the Senate that is designed to act as the house of
review is an effective check on the people s will. Despite this, the review function of
the senate is becoming increasingly a reflection of the will of the parliament and this
is contributing to parliament becoming dysfunctional. The Turnbull government
hopes to resolve this through a double dissolution later this
Rhetorical Analysis Of Frank Bruni s The Dangerous

The Dangerous Safety of College Rhetorical Analysis It is made clear that college
students are quick to form an opinion which doesn t expand knowledge and can
show unintelligence. Many people, more specifically protesters, believe one side
and won t open up and listen to the other side. Frank Bruni, an Op Ed Columnist for
the New York Times and the author of 3 New York Times best sellers in 2015, 2009,
and 2002, tells us that the college protesters are wrong. His argument states that the
college students need to be educated more on the whole subject because lacking
educationcan essentially lead to being biased or sticking with the one side you
believe in. The students were protesting a guest speaker, Charles Murray, who is
identified as anti gay, racist, and sexist. Although the guest speaker s beliefs are
terrible, the students should hear what he has to say. Frank Bruni s The Dangerous
Saftey of College presents an effective logical appeal; however, it lacks clear and
concise evidence along with not presenting an emotional appeal to connect with the
audience. Frank Bruni gives prominent evidence to back up his claim and referrers
himself with the audience to show that college protesters should remember the
purpose of education, but where is the connection between the audience and Frank? A
connection draws the audience in and allows them to feel more understanding with
the authors claim. In The Dangerous Safety of College the connection is unclear

Eating Disorders And Their Brains
Eating Disorders In US today, over 30 million men, women, and children suffer
from an eating disorder. Research shows that 42% of first to third grade girls want
to be thinner, and 81% of 10 year olds are afraid of being fat. In fact, most kids with
eating disorders began their disordered eating between the ages of 11 and 13.
(Eating Dis.3) The most common eating disorders are; Anorexia, Binge eating, and
Bulimia. Why do people resort to something so life threatening? Many people are
turning towards eating disorders because they don t accept who they are. Eating
disorders are a mental illness that can have dangerous effects on the human body,
and several people are involved in this bad habit. In some cases, people can t
necessarily stop the disorder because it is in their genetics. Other times, it s the
person choice on whether or not they d like to open this hurtful portal to darkness.
Scientists have done many studies on women involved in eating disorders and their
brains function different than a healthy woman. Eating disorders aren t just a
mental illness, there are a physical illness as well that often destroy the body s
normal function. It may start as just starting to eat less or more, but it can have a
dramatic effect to your body that it increases and gets worse. People who are going
through puberty and changes on facial and body appearances often lean towards
eating disorders because they want to be an ideal image that it advertised everywhere
in media.
Death Valley Essay
Death Valley is a native American reservation located in Utah and approximately a
30 minute drive from the Army s Dugway Proving Ground, a military installation less
than 100 miles from Salt Lake City, Utah. On the early morning of March 15, 1968,
thousands of sheep within the town started showing signs and symptoms of an odd,
peculiar disease; they were unable to come to their feet and without the ability to
keep their necks straight, soon after, they were lying dead in the farms across the
town. This incident, which became known as The Dugway Proving Ground Accident,
generated national attention, in an era marred by public political unrest and an
American public highly suspicious of their government. The majority of Death Valley

Sit-Down Strikes Of The United Auto Workers (Uaw)
By the end of 1936 and the beginning of 1937, the United Auto Workers (UAW)
union structured a strike held at General Motors, known as the Fisher Body Plant
No. 2 in Flint, Michigan. They called the strike, a sit down strike that was
organized to demand improvements to working conditions and job security to all
employees. The strike was one of the largest during this era. The local police tried
to withhold food from going into the plant that was ordered by supporters; which
caused the strike to become violent. This left the Michigan s governor, Frank
Murphy no choice but to step in and decide to call in the National Guard to control
the situation, however, the troops was ordered be onsite and not go inside the plant.

Fall Crocus Research Paper
Fall Crocus
Fall crocus (Crocus speciosus) starts its display of blue cheery blooms weeks
before the foliage appears starting in early fall and making it a suitable choice for
adding color to gardens in autumn. The perennial corm producing plant is hardy in
USDA zones 4 through 9 located in moist soil that drains well and situated in a
sunny site. Plants grow about 6 inches tall and will multiply and naturalize into the
planting site, adding years of color to the garden. This is a tough and low maintenance
plant requiring little care other than keeping the planting site moist to promote the
best performance. Pump up the fall color by using it in mass plantings, as a ground
cover, or in the front of mixed borders.
Monkshood
Gardeners in USDA zones 3 through 7 can fill their fall gardens with tall shoots of
bright purple blue flowers by growing monkshood (Aconitum carmichaelii), a

In the end, Silver developed a soul and returned Jane s love, thereby indicating that
Silver is now truly alive. He is a real human as he now has a soul. This is similar to
the time when Galatea comes to life, as she was then a real human.
One significant difference between the myth and the novel is that Pygmalion in the
novel is a girl instead of the novel, while Galatea is a male robot. Also, the male
dominant idea in the myth disappeared. Instead, the author mainly concentrates on
creating equal status between Jane and the robot. However, both texts valued love
and romance above all things. While other values such as family relationships are
less important. Language appearance is also an important idea in the novel. Silver
s appearance, is far above all man. For example as Jane s friend Egyptia said: Beauty,
acrobatics, tenderness, humor, prowess. It s ruined me for a man for weeks. Jane
fell in love with him because of his beauty and perfection. Therefore, appearance
plays a key role in the novel as well as the Pygmalion Myth.

because of its morbid yet practical depiction of a young boy who has passed away
due to a preventable accident before experiencing the life in which a teen or young
adult would otherwise. The advertisement also uses the death of a young child to
appeal to parents; especially the mothers, largely using pathos to raise awareness of
deadly accidents which could otherwise be preventable. Logos and ethos, although

The emotional appeals utilized in the video are both heart warming and worrisome
due to the language and tone the boy uses throughout the advertisement. The
repetition of the phrase, I ll never get to , creates empathy for the boy through people

accident . This sympathy for the boy then creates acknowledgment, especially for

The Epistolary Form Of Writing
The epistle in its most basic form is simply a letter, with the epistolary form in the
Eighteenth Century being a published letter often from one writer to another. This
mode of writing was extremely popular in the Eighteenth Century, taking on
different contexts for different purposes. An epistle can be a complex genre of
writing. The Epistle can be a collection of poems, a satirical essay, a response to an
author s works or a raging sparring of words. Although quite constraining in format,
an epistle addressed to someone, be it explicit or not can capture the minds of many.
The epistle is notably an ancient form of writing, originating in Egypt as early as
1292 BC. However, the scholars of Ancient Greece and Rome made the formulae of

Horace s work does indeed showcase his view of literary culture of that time,

From Ancient Greece to Eighteenth Century England the epistle s importance still
remains. With the Ancients vs Moderns argument being in full effect, this added
leverage to the use of the epistle in satire, reproducing the epistolary form as Greats
before them had also used. The difference between Modern thinkers were in stark
contrast to the Neo Classical thinkers of the time. The Neo Classical Aesthetic
embodied a group of attitudes towards art and human existence. That of order, logic,
restraint, accuracy, decorum and correctness was favoured over the Renaissance
thinkers that believed imagination, invention, experimentation and mysticism was
more important to feature in Literature. The Augustan Age in which Pope, being a
central poetic figure at that time had the most famous and well recognised modern
epistles written both by him and also aimed at him.
Criticism was increasingly popular in the 18th Century, with enjoyment coming from
both the original text and the opinions and responses to the text by others. Of course,
Pope perceived some criticism as incorrect and a personal attack on his own being
rather than input on his actual body of work. These attacks, however, motivate
Alexander Pope further, giving him more material
Trayvon Martin Case Essay
February 26, 2012 marked the day that the innocent minor, Trayvon Martin, was shot
to his death in a gated neighborhood in Sanford, Florida. The shooter, George
Zimmerman, still has not faced any serious consequence for the murder. Many people
in the Sanford community, and even around the country, believe that there is no
question that Zimmerman should be convicted and sent to jail, but, unfortunately, it
is not up to the people; it is up to the justice system. With the consideration of
Florida s state laws, this is a difficult case to foresee the outcome of George

his father came on TV to tell the world that his son had been wrongfully accused of

medical reports that show that Martin had abused Zimmerman. (CNN?) As the
investigation progressed, phone calls made by witnesses were released. One
phone call stood out from the others; in the background of the call, Martin s cry for

pulled the trigger in self defense. (CNN?) The state attorney on the case, Angela

George Zimmerman will be charged with second degree murder for the shooting and

Similarities Between Funeral And Pericles Funeral
We often like to think that over the course of two millennia we change a lot. In
many ways we do, our technology advances, we become more knowledgeable, and
we as people evolve. However, we do not evolve in every way that we perhaps
should. An example we can look at to see the ways some things have not changed
much through examining two similar documents. Written in drastically different time
periods, you would not think Lincoln s Gettysburg Addressand Pericles s Epitaph
would really have much in common. The two funeral orations do share their fair
share of similarities in addition to their differences, though. To understand how the
two documents compare we must first look at the context of both the Epitaph and the
Gettysburg Address. Pericles s Epitaph was written roughly 2,000 years ago during
the beginning of the Peloponnesian Wars. It comes to us through Thucydides in his
history The Peloponnesian War. Pericles spoke after the first year of battle in the
winter, and his speech was delivered at a public funeral for all those that were slain
during the war. This is why his speech is often called the Funeral Oration of
Pericles. He had been a general at the time and a natural choice to deliver a speech
on those who died in battle. In addition to his status though, Pericles had a reputation
for speaking only when it was truly important. Thus, the people would know how
important this speech was and more importantly they would get the message Pericles
was trying to get
The History of Music Styles
Introduction:
A study of the history of music styles brings to the fore two distinct periods,
Baroque and Classical. The purpose of this essay is to provide a comparison
between the two musical eras through the exploration of two different composers and
their works, namely Antonio Vivaldi and his Four Seasons Spring in the maximized
Baroque era and the minimalist approaches of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart s
Symphony. Moreover this essay will review the unique social, cultural, technological
an musical elements of each period to determine the ways in which these factors
influenced the works and styles of their respective composers.

Baroque
The social characteristics of an era are strongly influential to the attitudes that
composers had towards composing their works and the approaches that they took
when doing so. **Maybe find a quote about how social factors can influence the

inferiors and treated like servants by the aristocrats, thus being expected to cater to

generously, however this came with a price. They were held responsible for a vast
variety of tasks, including not only the composition of music but also the
maintenance of instruments and music library, overseeing performances and
disciplining musicians. Court musicians often earned more and were wealthier than
Church musicians, and so many of

most geologically active areas on Earth, and is a site for frequent earthquakes and

b)The Ring of Fire is the result of plate tectonics. Much of the volcanic activity occurs
along subduction zones which are convergent plate boundaries where two tectonic
plates come together. The heavier plate is shoved (or subducted) under the other
plate. When this happens, melting of the plates produces magma. The magma rises
up through the overlying plate, erupting to the surface as a volcano.
Subduction zones are also where Earth s deepest ocean trenches are located and
where deep earthquakes happen. The trenches form because as one plate subducts
under another, it is bent downward. Earthquakes occur as the two plates scrape
against each other and as the subducting plate
Importance And Importance Of Judiciary
Laws and legal system is important to establish a successful and developed country.
Judiciary is the primary institution to give maintenance of law and administration of
justice. Judiciary is part of the three organs of government other than the legislature
and executive body.
In the three branches of government, they have their own position and powers. For
executive, they execute and enforce the law which is enacted by the legislative
branch, of course the legislative is to enact and pass the law, and the judiciary is to
uphold the law which is enacted and publicized. The judiciary is a body which
adjudge on conflicts between the state institution, between state and citizen, and
between citizen and citizen. It interprets the meaning of the law passed and applies
the law to the cases. In doctrine of separation of power, it decides whether any law
passed by the legislative branch violates the constitution of the country.
To make sure all of the branches carrying out their own responsibility and does not

power is introduced to uphold the smooth and effective duty of each and every

Characteristics Of Michel Foucault s The Magic Toyshop
Angela Carter s novel, The Magic Toyshop, is filled with traits that resemble Michel
Foucault s philosophical work, Discipline and Punish: The Birth of the Prison, even
if Carter s work does predate Foucault s work. Uncle Philip, the antagonist, is able to
monitor the members of his household without even being present in the house. He
has made his wife completely subservient to him. Uncle Philip even extends his
power to control relationships. Similarly, Margaret Atwood s work, The Handmaid s
Tale, portrays some Foucauldian ideologies. Atwood published her novel after
Foucault published Discipline and Punish, which is reason to believe she was
influenced by his philosophies. In Atwood s novel, she incorporated Foucauldian
ideologies that have been implemented by a totalitarian, theocratic regime that is able
to make its population more machine than human. The society wants to make their
monitoring flawless by using spies. Since the Republic and Gilead forcibly converted
their population, they forbid them to leave.
In Discipline and Punish: The Birth of the Prison, Michel Foucault includes theories
in which to control and surveillance individuals. He describes his theory that he
referred to as docile bodies to control a person. A body is docile that may be
subjected, used, transformed, and improved. (Foucault 136) A body suggests the
mind is absent in the body, which appears to be a process similar to brainwashing.
Foucault states that the body can be used as object
Impacts On Corporate Strategy For The St. Joe Company
Impacts on corporate strategy for the St. Joe Company
The St. Joe Company has many sociocultural, technological, economic,
environmental, and political legal forces that impact the corporation s strategy and
implementation. Sociocultural forces are described by demographic changes,
consumer attitudes, and product demand (Albright, 2004). Technological forces are
advances in technology in a particular industry that influences business efficiencies
(Albright, 2004). Economic forces can come from local, national, and federal
economies, such as unemployment (Albright, 2004). Environmental forces are those
that affect location and sustainability awareness efforts. Political legal forces are
those that affect a company growth through the ... Show more content on

Technologically speaking, there is yet specifications of the published plan that
include what outlines specifically will be addressed within their 50 year plan,
however with the millennial generation representing a large portion of today s
workforce, ideally the company will need to include factors of ease through
technology within their framework to appeal to this generation, which will ultimately
be their target audience with a 50 year build out. The St. Joe Company has noted in
their annual reports that they have been increasing their reliance on computers and
digital technology (2015). Most of the company increases are noted to be in the
luxury division, St. Joe Club Resorts, indicating their increase of protection on cyber
risks within their amenity management processes (St. Joe Company, 2015).
Economic Political Legal Forces The strategic plan St. Joe Company has instituted
not only adds amenities and jobs that will be managed by their luxury division but
also includes added jobs and economic influences through outside companies as well.
A fantastic example of how these partnerships will be influenced through their
strategic plan implementation is the recent partnership with GKN Aerospace in their
Venture Crossings area. GKN Aerospace proposes to lease this new manufacturing
facility, St. Joe Company s Venture Crossing Centre, which will be developed and
owned by a subsidiary of St. Joe and
A Superstar s Open Contempt
A Superstar s Open Contempt
For various folks, the description of the nature of Jesus prevails as a yielding,
meek man that merely wants people to be morally, loving toward each other;
notwithstanding, this analogy surfaces as being insultingly inadequate. For this
man, if you want to call Him a man, shined as a towering superstar and labored
continually to tolerate people s ignorance and stupidity. Throughout the four
gospels, from the Sermon on the Mount (Matt 5 7), to all of His teachings and
parables, He does expound on people to strive to better their brotherly love, ethics,
morals, etc., speaking quite compassionately; while focusing mainly on people s
spiritual transformations, becoming born again. (John 3:3) Nevertheless, looking
closer, there occur matters that exhibit disregard and possibly open contempt
numerous times (Matt 10:21, 10:34 38), even towards His own mother (Matt 12:46
50, Mar 3:31 35, John 2:4); in addition, He demonstrates a temper to the point of
killing a barren fig tree (Matt 21:18 21; Mark 11:12 14; 11:20 21).
Moreover, Jesus persists as constantly attacking people for their erroneous beliefs,
and other unruly behaviors; such as the Scribes, (Matt 5:20, 23:14 15), the Pharisees,
(Matt 23:25, Luke 11:44); the Sadducees, (Matt 16:11 12). He discredits Gentiles,
and Samaritans (Matt 10:5); people buying and selling in the temple (Matt 21:12);
heathens (Matt 6:7); publicans (Matt 18:17); anyone outside of the house of Israel
(Matt 15:24 26);
Media And Its Impact On Society Essay
Media has been growing for a numerous amount of years, and it will only keep
rising. You could say that nearly everyone around you has some sort of
technological device or way in which they can access the media, these are what we
call print, audio visual and on line media. Print media includes things such as
newspapers, magazines and even books, Audio visual media includes your TV,
radio or even music and finally on line media is mostly photos or videos that are
spread over the internet. With the media we are able to see what is going on
around the world through a computer or TV screen without actually being there,
thus we can all share knowledge within our cultures. Each of these pieces of media
will have some sort of impact on an individual s life whether that be watching the
news or listening to a certain type of music but the ways that this can influence
someone can differ through their cultural identity. Sender, Message and Receiver
(S M R) is a model for communication that starts with a producer, the message that
they publish into society and the views that people get from that message. Sender
is the starting point of this model, whereby you look at who owns certain aspects of
the media and what their interests are. Global Media ownership are bigger
corporations such as Disney and Time Warner, these big companies own most of the
TV channels and films that we watch for example, Disney owns ABC and Marvel
Studios so you can see that they might want to bring one
Reflection Of Group Development
To begin, the very first part of group development but also the class, was to form a
group that you would work with throughout the whole semester. The class discussed
ways to assign group members, but ultimately, the decision was to let students pick
their groups. In all honesty, I was not fond of this idea, but I selected my group. I
began by wanting one of the two boys in my group, because I wanted a male s
perspective throughout the project. I decidedI wanted to work with Adam because I
had witnessed him ask challenging questions and succeed in debates with
previous professors, all characteristics I thought could be beneficial at the time.
With choosing Adam came Matt, because since they were the only two males in a
lecture dominated by females. Lastly, Alex decided she wanted to work with me
because we had a previous class together and she stated she liked the way I handled
myself within that lecture. Once the group was all in agreeance to work together,
we began to take part in small talk, such as, how old we were, what we were
studying, but mainly that we were all determined to get a high grade in this class, a
comment I had taken seriously at the time and thought was true of all members.
When the class was eventually instructed to discuss topics that were of importance to
us, there was no doubt that focusing on nontraditional students and their connection
to campus life was going to be the topic we focused on because it was of such
importance to Вѕ of our group.
Obstetrics And Gynecology Research Paper
Maternity care in the United States is in jeopardy. There is an increasing trend of
shortages of obstetrician gynecologists and family physicians that once provided
vital maternity care. With almost half of the nation s counties lacking an obstetric
provider, approximately ten million women are affected. Obstetricians gynecologist
themselves are also feeling the burdens of the understaffed hospitals and clinics with
prolonged work hours. These medical professionals who dedicate their very lives to
the field and the care of women are under a great amount of pressure and stress due
to the shrinking workforce. Furthermore, interest amongst the youth is necessary in
order to have an ample amounts of physicians available to replace the increasing...

A large percentage of current doctors are reaching the age of retirement and many
students are turned off from the field for multiple reasons. One of the greatest
disadvantages of having any medical job that involves such high stakes, are the
pressures of professional liability. Many doctors are at risk of being sued for
malpractice during their medical careers. Medical liability can deter doctors away
from tending to high risk patients or even practicing at all. According to a study
conducted by the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 58% of OB
GYNs said they changed how they practiced due to the risk or fear of being sued.
Slightly more than one out of four OB GYNs (27%) decreased the number of high
risk patients, 24% increased the number of cesarean deliveries, 19% stopped
offering VBACs, and 6% dropped obstetrics altogether ( Women s Health Care
Physicians. ). The care these physicians provide is essential, especially for women
who are in high risk situations. No woman should have to worry about being denied
treatment by a doctor for fear of being potentially sued. When obstetricians
gynecologists are sued, the effects are detrimental to multiple aspects of the their
career. Not only does it bring about a large mess of legal issues, but it also takes a
toll on the mental health and confidence of these trained medical professionals. This
The Problem With Saying All Lives Matter Tyler Huckabee
In the article The Problem with Saying All Lives Matter , Tyler Huckabee (2015)
states that it s decreasing the relevant of All Black Lives and represents a complete
misunderstanding of the phrase Black lives Matter. He acknowledges the view
that people are not decreasing the relevant truth of All Black Lives Matter , but the
emphasis of his argument is to educate people who don t see the flaw and what the
outcome of this movement may be in result. He provides an example of, a 17 year
old boy named Trayvon Martin, who was fatally shot while he was walking back
from a convenience store. Due to this incident, three women named Alicia Garza,
Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi (Founders of BLM) began tweeting

The Tragedy Of Joseph Lambert And His Men
Colonel Lambert and his men were feeling a bit train fever they had been cooped
up for days on the train. They had been moving slowly through northern Virginia
the tracks had been blocked, removed or even destroyed purposely. The only
reason people had blocked the tracks was because for some reason camps had built
up around them, perhaps because they were open areas that had already been
cleared. Maybe because it brought back memories of another time but people built
camps right over them. People were surprised to see the huge black behemoth in
same cases barreling down on them, one of the reasons they had slowed down a
bit. There was one instance where they had plowed through one camp in the middle
of the night, damn near killed everyone and those that survived needless to say
weren t happy, they kept moving. They also started to find pieces of track missing
no doubt people using it as building material or to melt it down for other reasons
unknown to the Colonel. For the time being it was ok they had replacement rails and
the men had been trained on how to replace them. They had been stopping and
rebuilding water towers and clearing stations. They had to continue to cut wood for
fuel, which in some cases caused confrontations with some locals who felt that they
were infringing on their resources. Once Colonel Lambert explained, generally at gun
point, that all of these resources belonged to the United States government. If they
had a problem with it they could
Comparing The Chimney Sweep And Songs Of Innocence
And...
William Blake s The Chimney Sweep and Songs of Innocence and Experience
In this essay I will attempt to analyse, compare and contrast the poems The
Chimney Sweep from both Songs of Experience and Songs of Innocence which
were both written by William Blake in 1790 92 and 1789 respectively. These two
poems were amalgamated in 1794 to create a new collection called Songs of
Innocence and Experience .
I will be looking at what Blake says and hints at concerning the two contrary states
of the human soul in the two poems as well as looking at the message Blake is
trying to convey to the reader. As the poems are written regarding the same subject,
that is a chimney sweep, I will be looking at how they differ in their ... Show more

This was because of the huge power the rich and wealthy possessed; they could
pay people less and lay workers off without the fear of them taking mass industrial
action because people were so desperate for the money and would not have even
have thought have taking such action. Over the years life got harder for the
working class year by year and was basically a constant battle to stay alive, which
many were losing. Due to the fact that people were so poor, the burden of
contributing to the family income was placed on children even earlier and this quite
often meant working as a chimney sweep from the age of four, a topic explored in
Blake s two poems. Life expectancy was short and if you were unfortunate enough
to be a chimney sweep you were seen to be doing well if you got past the age of
ten. Money generally means power and at that time in the world it was especially
true and actually to a greater degree and so the more money you had the more
power and authority you had and if you were rich enough you could not only have an
influence on the area of the country you lived in but also be influential in the running
of the country. Consequently due to the totally disproportionate spread of power
within the country, people who were very poor had absolutely no say in the

  • 1. Speech Writing Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of "Speech Writing" poses a unique set of challenges that demands a blend of creativity, rhetorical skill, and a profound understanding of effective communication. The difficulty lies not only in conveying information but in constructing a narrative that captivates an audience and leaves a lasting impact. One of the primary challenges is striking the right balance between substance and style. The content must be informative and persuasive, conveying a clear message while also being engaging and memorable. Achieving this balance requires a deep understanding of the topic, as well as a keen awareness of the intended audience and their expectations. Additionally, the art of speech writing requires a mastery of language and rhetoric. Crafting sentences that flow seamlessly, using persuasive techniques, and employing rhetorical devices to enhance the overall impact are all essential elements. The difficulty is not merely in putting words on paper but in choosing the right words to elicit the desired emotional response from the audience. Furthermore, there is the challenge of tailoring the speech to the speaker's voice and style. Whether writing for a political figure, a business executive, or a ceremonial occasion, capturing the essence of the speaker while maintaining a professional tone is no small feat. Research is another integral aspect that adds to the complexity of the task. A well-rounded essay requires thorough research to ensure accuracy and credibility. This involves delving into the subject matter, understanding different perspectives, and incorporating relevant examples to strengthen the arguments. In conclusion, the difficulty of writing an essay on "Speech Writing" lies in the intricate interplay of language, persuasion, and understanding of the audience. It demands a writer's ability to navigate the nuances of effective communication while tailoring the content to suit the specific context. Crafting a compelling speech on paper is not just about the words; it's about creating an experience that resonates with the audience. • 2. Reflection On Mindfulness I have a somewhat regular, yet sincere contemplative mindfulness practice that helps me understand why I experience life the way I do both internally and externally. I get to see my own urges, those I m not really aware of such as the urge to multi task. Practicing mindfulness meditation and other mindfulness practices I learned to become in touch with my own urges and to control them through awareness and self discipline. So, here are a few reflections for your coffee time. As you sip on your deliciously made aromatic coffee, tea or hot cocoa accept these thoughts for your reflection. Finally, at the 3rd mindfulness class I took with Daniel, I decided to do the homework he had suggested to everyone, which was to do one thing we do routinely during the day, mindfully. That is to be with the experience of it and fully giving it our undivided attention. For example, if we chose brushing our teeth, he said, to brush slowly, feel every stroke as the brush moved around the mouth, what it felt like, the taste of the tooth paste, what the mind was doing; observe everything about that experience, while also focusing on our breath. This was our mindfulness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I had to find out. Hence, this became my mindfulness exercise for my homework. Oh boy, was I in for a huge lesson in getting to know how I went about living life... while I stayed with my pita bread to heat it up I followed the instructions of my teacher, feeling all my feelings, being with the experience, being with my breath, etc. I observed how absolutely difficult it was for me to just do one thing at a time. I saw how I could not stay put for twenty seconds to finish this task. The urge to run and do other things was overwhelming. I d leave the stove to get something from the fridge, to wash vegetables, cut them, put on music and so many other things while leaving the bread on the fire and rushing to turn it over in between all those other tasks. And of course, it would burn
  • 3. Maritime Archaeology And Ancient Trade In Maritime Archaeology and Ancient Trade in the Mediterranean, Andrew Wilson argues that ancient maritime trade peaked in the Hellenistic and Roman periods. First, he identifies Parker s graph of known shipwrecks as inaccurate evidence on the trade intensity of the ancient maritime world. Next, Wilson details several technologies, specifically the bilge pump, and hydraulic cement, that enabled the expansion of trade during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. Finally, Wilson concludes that it was Roman standardization of currency and language, not new technologies, that allowed trade to increase in the ancient world. When the Roman empiredeteriorated, trade decreased, leading to the loss of harbors and shipping technologies. In 1992, A.J. Parker published a study of known shipwrecks organized by their approximate century in which the ships sank. As a result, many archaeologists have attempted to equate this graph with fluctuations in ancient maritime trade, depending upon the assumptions that each period had an equal probability of ships wrecking, and that wrecks from all periods are equally visible to archaeologists. Wilson disagrees, claiming that these assumptions are inherently flawed, and therefore, the graph cannot be used to analyze ancient maritime trade. First, the risks of wrecking were dependent upon the trade routes, which, in turn, were dependent on what items were highly sought after (Wilson, 36). If products from nearby coastal cities were desired, then
  • 4. Barack Obama s President Obama As stated in the Constitution of the United States, the President shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient. Since 1947, this constitutionally mandated address has become known as the State of the Union Address. President Barack Obama continued this tradition in his final State of the Union Address to Congress and the American citizens on January 12, 2016. In his desire to create a legacy that reached beyond his administration, President Obama focused on four key topics for America s future: opportunity in the future economy; utilizing technology for progress; keeping America safe while regulating foreign policy? and reforming American politics for future administrations. Although President Obama s 2016 address tendered several suggestions for shaping America s future economy, education, sustaining employee benefits, and investing in clean energy emerged as prominent ways to secure the economy for future generations. In his statement real opportunity requires every American to get the education and training they need to land a good paying job, President Obama emphasizes the paramount affect that job training and education has on the American economy. • 5. The Importance Of Life In My Life Life is like a game of volleyball, unpredictable yet predictable at the same time. The game of volleyball reflects the same ideas of what happens in my life. Thus, I created a setup of a volleyball game inside a shadow box to represent the parts of who I am. I made the volleyball net with white plastic canvas mesh, court lines with ribbon and players with some of my favorite pictures in the past. I chose this type of model because there are multiple sides to it. Only one side of it can be shown at a time but they are all there, this relates to how I present myself to others. In my opinion, the most meaningful part to the model is the frame. This represents my foundation, the part that makes me who I am. My parents have taught me important things in life like character and work ethic from their own experiences. Both of my parents lead strong examples for my sister and I. They have always shown me how to be the bigger person by caring for one another and doing the right and honest thing. For example, if a cashier forgets to scan an item my parents will either tell the cashier there is another item to scan or go back through the line to check out. Work ethic is also very important because my parents say, that s where success begins . Ever since I was a little kid, things haven t come easy to me. I work hard for everything I do, I m a person who goes the extra mile on each homework assignment and studies for every single test. My parents give me inspiration and drive to do

Philadelphia 76ers USA TODAY Sports The Philadelphia 76ers just completed their second straight season with fewer than 20 wins, and that was unfortunately the goal. To the confusion of many NBA fans, this simply means that everything is going to plan in the city of brotherly love. General manager Sam Hinkie, is sticking to his rebuilding plan of asset collecting, and it is bound to pay off for Philly at some point. The question is; how long will it take for the 76ers to finally build a respectable team? The biggest X factor for the Sixers is second year big man Joel Embiid. Embiid is one of the rare players that has the distinct possibility of being out of the league or a top 10 player in the NBA five years from now. After missing his entire rookie season with a foot injury, Embiid will be forced to miss another season after aggravating his foot. However, when Wright was sixteen, a short story of his was published in a Southern African American newspaper. After leaving high school, Wright worded a few odd jobs, but still showed his true love for writing. In 1927, Wright decided to pack up his belongings and head to Chicago. A short ten years later, Richard moved to New York City, where he was told it would be easier getting published. One year later, Wright s first book was published. Since then, Wright has wrote a number of books, series and short stories until he died in 1960. With that being said, Richard Wright s short stories, The ManWho Was Almost A Man and Big Boy Leaves Home were both written to show what coming with age and responsibility truly mean. Santiago s story shows him learning and living out the theme of the novel. I think Paulo passed on his message about following your heart quite well. I believe that this novel was meant to be read by people who are old enough to understand different struggles people sometimes need to endure to achieve goal. If someone were not to understand this concept then the novel would be empty, for them. The most interesting thing I found about the novel was the way Paulo build up Santiago s hopes and then destroyed them. Paulo not only did this several times but he also chose to do it right after Santiago thought he had learned a lesson about life. Most books I have read don t build up and destroy the main characters hopes so perniciously. I find that Santiago s journey is fairly unlikely to ever occur in real life. At the end of the novel, Santiago digs for his treasure but finds nothing, however the one man in the world that would tell him another place so search just so happens to be right there waiting. The odds of this happening are very low at best. Another thing that is impossible to occur in real life is someone turning lead into gold. This is not something that could be done. I would defiantly recommend this book to a friend or a family member. I fervently enjoyed The Alchemist, and I think that most people would enjoy reading about Santiago. LGBT people have faced injustice and discrimination and have been fighting for their rights for decades to overcome prejudice against them which they have finally received in 2015. LGBT individuals has remained largely silent and unseen in American culture until World War II ended. Many of them hid their unusual sexual orientation from the society out of shame and fear. Gays who lived in cities often formed close social networks with other gays while remaining a hidden subculture. However, he traveled with cheap leather hiking boots, a .22 caliber that was to small for the animals he planned to kill, a ten pound bag of rice, and clothing that was minimal for the types of conditions that he would be encountering. Frank Bruni, an Op Ed Columnist for the New York Times and the author of 3 New York Times best sellers in 2015, 2009, and 2002, tells us that the college protesters are wrong. The students were protesting a guest speaker, Charles Murray, who is identified as anti gay, racist, and sexist. Although the guest speaker s beliefs are terrible, the students should hear what he has to say. One significant difference between the myth and the novel is that Pygmalion in the novel is a girl instead of the novel, while Galatea is a male robot. Also, the male dominant idea in the myth disappeared. Instead, the author mainly concentrates on creating equal status between Jane and the robot. Written in drastically different time periods, you would not think Lincoln s Gettysburg Addressand Pericles s Epitaph would really have much in common. The two funeral orations do share their fair share of similarities in addition to their differences, though. To understand how the two documents compare we must first look at the context of both the Epitaph and the Gettysburg Address. Pericles s Epitaph was written roughly 2,000 years ago during the beginning of the Peloponnesian Wars. It comes to us through Thucydides in his history The Peloponnesian War. Pericles spoke after the first year of battle in the winter, and his speech was delivered at a public funeral for all those that were slain during the war. This is why his speech is often called the Funeral Oration of Pericles. He had been a general at the time and a natural choice to deliver a speech on those who died in battle. In addition to his status though, Pericles had a reputation for speaking only when it was truly important. Uncle Philip even extends his power to control relationships. Similarly, Margaret Atwood s work, The Handmaid s Tale, portrays some Foucauldian ideologies. Atwood published her novel after Foucault published Discipline and Punish, which is reason to believe she was influenced by his philosophies. In Atwood s novel, she incorporated Foucauldian ideologies that have been implemented by a totalitarian, theocratic regime that is able to make its population more machine than human. For this man, if you want to call Him a man, shined as a towering superstar and labored continually to tolerate people s ignorance and stupidity. Throughout the four gospels, from the Sermon on the Mount (Matt 5 7), to all of His teachings and parables, He does expound on people to strive to better their brotherly love, ethics, morals, etc., speaking quite compassionately; while focusing mainly on people s spiritual transformations, becoming born again. Moreover, Jesus persists as constantly attacking people for their erroneous beliefs, and other unruly behaviors; such as the Scribes, (Matt 5:20, 23:14 15), the Pharisees, (Matt 23:25, Luke 11:44); the Sadducees, (Matt 16:11 12). A large percentage of current doctors are reaching the age of retirement and many students are turned off from the field for multiple reasons. One of the greatest disadvantages of having any medical job that involves such high stakes, are the pressures of professional liability. Many doctors are at risk of being sued for malpractice during their medical careers. Medical liability can deter doctors away from tending to high risk patients or even practicing at all. According to a study conducted by the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 58% of OB GYNs said they changed how they practiced due to the risk or fear of being sued. Slightly more than one out of four OB GYNs (27%) decreased the number of high risk patients, 24% increased the number of cesarean deliveries, 19% stopped offering VBACs, and 6% dropped obstetrics altogether ( Women s Health Care Physicians. ). • 48. The Tragedy Of Joseph Lambert And His Men Colonel Lambert and his men were feeling a bit train fever they had been cooped up for days on the train. They had been moving slowly through northern Virginia the tracks had been blocked, removed or even destroyed purposely. The only reason people had blocked the tracks was because for some reason camps had built up around them, perhaps because they were open areas that had already been cleared. Maybe because it brought back memories of another time but people built camps right over them. People were surprised to see the huge black behemoth in same cases barreling down on them, one of the reasons they had slowed down a bit. There was one instance where they had plowed through one camp in the middle of the night, damn near killed everyone and those that survived needless to say weren t happy, they kept moving. They also started to find pieces of track missing no doubt people using it as building material or to melt it down for other reasons unknown to the Colonel. For the time being it was ok they had replacement rails and the men had been trained on how to replace them. They had been stopping and rebuilding water towers and clearing stations. They had to continue to cut wood for fuel, which in some cases caused confrontations with some locals who felt that they were infringing on their resources. Once Colonel Lambert explained, generally at gun point, that all of these resources belonged to the United States government. If they had a problem with it they could

I will be looking at what Blake says and hints at concerning the two contrary states of the human soul in the two poems as well as looking at the message Blake is trying to convey to the reader. As the poems are written regarding the same subject, that is a chimney sweep, I will be looking at how they differ in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over the years life got harder for the working class year by year and was basically a constant battle to stay alive, which many were losing. Due to the fact that people were so poor, the burden of contributing to the family income was placed on children even earlier and this quite often meant working as a chimney sweep from the age of four, a topic explored in Blake s two poems. Life expectancy was short and if you were unfortunate enough to be a chimney sweep you were seen to be doing well if you got past the age of ten. Money generally means power and at that time in the world it was especially true and actually to a greater degree and so the more money you had the more power and authority you had and if you were rich enough you could not only have an influence on the area of the country you lived in but also be influential in the running of the country. Consequently due to the totally disproportionate spread of power within the country, people who were very poor had absolutely no say in the
