 For Throttling Calorimeter
Enthalpy before throttling = Enthalpy after throttling
Hf1+x2Hfg1 = Hf2 +Hfg2 +Cps(Tsup – Tsat)
x2 = Hg2 +Cps(Tsup – Tsat) – Hf1
Hfg1
 If x is initial dryness fraction of steam
 Water droplet in steam sample = (1-x)(Ms + Mw) kg
 For separating calorimeter = (1-x1)(Ms + Mw) kg
 For throttling calorimeter = (1-x2)Ms kg
Water droplet in steam sample = water droplet removed
by separating calorimeter + water droplet passed through
throttling calorimeter.
x=x1.x2

  • 6. Calculation of dryness fraction. . . .  For Throttling Calorimeter Enthalpy before throttling = Enthalpy after throttling Hf1+x2Hfg1 = Hf2 +Hfg2 +Cps(Tsup – Tsat) x2 = Hg2 +Cps(Tsup – Tsat) – Hf1 Hfg1
  • 7.  If x is initial dryness fraction of steam  Water droplet in steam sample = (1-x)(Ms + Mw) kg  For separating calorimeter = (1-x1)(Ms + Mw) kg  For throttling calorimeter = (1-x2)Ms kg
  • 8. Water droplet in steam sample = water droplet removed by separating calorimeter + water droplet passed through throttling calorimeter. x=x1.x2
