Analysis Of Strange Memes, By Sherry Turkle
Humans have mastered the skill of copying others. Mostly everyone follows what they were shown;
they copy whatever they were taught. This is the idea of memes being passed down. Susan Blackmore
describes how memes have taken over our lives. She talks in her article, Strange Creatures, what
memes are and how the theory of selfish meme theory is being shown throughout living creatures.
Meme is the idea of imitating someone else s thoughts. Selfish is implied as thoughts being passed
down and trying to dominate other thoughts. Memes spread randomly and humans continue to use
those same thoughts. Mostly no one believes in creating their own thoughts. She describes how the
thought of copying has been passed down and the idea that occurs is spread throughout everyone.
Sherry Turkle specifically talks about the use of technology in her article, Alone Together . Everyone
uses technology whether it is good for them or not. Turkle describes how everyone has become
desperate to their gadgets. She talks more about people becoming dependent and how people want
technology. Blackmore s theory applies to Turkle s examples of the use of technology. The idea that
the use of technology is a meme. Everyone believes the use of technology is necessary for daily lives
since it has become normal to them. Therefore, the use of meme theory is being shown in society s
daily lives; this makes the outcome of the use of meme theory scary since everyone is copying others
and not showing

The Between 1879 And 1980
Throughout the period between 1879 and 1980 the relationships between the powers changed greatly
in their nature, coinciding with a shift in the balance of power. The Entente Cordiale of 1904 can
certainly be seen as a key turning point, along with other factors such as Neville Chamberlain s policy
of appeasement, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the SALT I and II agreements. The signing of the
Entente Cordiale in 1904 epitomised the ever growing division on the European stage in the early
1900s, and certainly contributed to a pre war alliance which precipitated the outbreak of World War
One. At the time, the highly unlikely signing of an Anglo French agreement can be seen by Gavin as a,
construct as an affront towards Germany . However, from the point of German interests, they had no
objections to the treaty and had no reason to suppose that the alliance was directed against any one
power. The period of Britain s largely mythical splendid isolation , formally ending by the 1902 Anglo
Japanese Alliance, Britain began to expand its relations with European countries. The signing of the
Entente Cordiale can certainly suggest that Germany ought to be concerned, and is certainly
significant when determining any alteration in the relationships of the powers and shift in the balance
of power. A way in which the Entente Cordiale was significant was that it was firstly tested in the
1905 Morocco Crisis, only 13 months within the signing of the cordiale, suggests German objection

Theodore Roosevelt, Bull Moose, Rough Rider, And The Lion
Theodore Roosevelt: Teddy , Bull Moose , Rough Rider , and The Lion . These were some of the
nicknames of our 26th president of the United States. Theodore Roosevelt was known to be tough and
couragous just like a lion. However, Roosevelt was a weakling during his early years. Because of his
severe asthma, he was home schooled and constantly had to travel to many different countries.
Because of his asthma, he often stayed home and spent his days reading. With the knowledge gained
from reading and learning, he later got accepted to Harvard. But, Roosevelt was soon faced with
another challenge. His father, who he looked up to, the most, had passed away. Following his father s
traumatic death, Roosevelt quit Harvard. These events taught Roosevelt many life lessons that helped
him in the near future. Although Theodore Roosevelt had accomplished a lot during his political years,
Roosevelt s childhood and early life is superior to the other years because it made him into who we
know him as today. To begin, Theodore Roosevelt s love for reading at a young age shaped him into
an intellectual. Theodore Roosevelt read an abundant amount of books from a young age. The
knowledge gained from reading became a foundation for many of Roosevelt s accomplishments. In a
biography of Theodore Roosevelt, it says, He also became more of a person by reading omnivorously
from an early age and using what he read to look into the future (Dalton 9, 10). Roosevelt applied all

William Shakespeare s The Elizabethan Era
William Shakespeare, possibly the greatest writer in English language, had different views about the
world than most writers. Shakespeare completely disagreed with the Elizabethan society he lived in
and with the concept of time. He found his society s views unproductive and incorrect and he believed
that time should not be a part of life, since it causes too much harm. His work showed how he viewed
the concept of love and friendship and how someone cannot live his or her life properly without loving
someone and being loved in return. Shakespeare s worldview and the society he resided in become
illuminated throughout his work, especially in his sonnets. His work reflects the importance of love
and friendship as well as his disagreement with time and the Elizabethan Era s views. William
Shakespeare lived his life and wrote his works during the Elizabethan Era. His writing in his sonnets
often differed with the Elizabethan worldview. For example, the Elizabethan society believed in a
strong hierarchal system. However, Shakespeare often wrote about a strong female. And yet, by
heaven, I think my love as rare/ As any She belied with false compare (Shakespeare, Sonnet 130).
Shakespeare believed that a female can be just as strong, sometimes even stronger, than a male. His
rejection of feminine qualities continue to intrigue today s writers. Shakespeare s insistence through
his speaker in Sonnet 130 to have a real, flesh and blood mistress rather than an ideal goddess is

The Los Angeles Riots Of 1992
The Los Angeles riots of 1992, the worst civil disturbance in America, brought to light the deepening
racial and class divisions that were growing in the U.S. The division of between the rich and the poor,
the immigrants and natives, and majority and minority produced an atmosphere of fear, distrust, and
hopelessness. Due to the struggle to gain power by racial and ethnic groups, the aftermath of the Los
Angeles riots was clouded with racial and ethnical conflicts. However, the riots did increase racial
awareness for Korean Americans between the different ethnicities. Dialogue was opened between
people, whom prior to the riot, did not interact with each other. Even so, African American, Latino,
White, and Asian American victims shared their anger and resentment towards the government for not
providing adequate compensation and aid for their losses.
For Korean Americans and immigrants, the Los Angeles riots of 1992 dramatically altered their course
of life in America. They suffered the heaviest losses as a result of the riots with over 2,000 Korean
American owned stores being looted, burned, or damaged; this amounted to a gigantic sum of around
$400 million in losses. The riots of 1992 has a deepening economic, psychological, and ideological
impact on Korean Americans that was referred to as a turning point in their long 100 year history of
immigration to the United States. According to a survey that was conducted 11 months after the riots,

Classic Colonialism In Africa
1.) Classic colonialism in Africa developed a rule of the economic agenda to its citizens livelihoods
and health. Colonialism provided a small amount of modern health care, and many of the policies of
classic colonialism worsened the state of public health. As a result, this destabilized the average
African household, and gave an easy rise to larger cities, causing a new level of racism in Africa. After
World War two, Africans would turn to Islam or Christianity; and many (especially those who
participated in WW2) demanded independence. There were several forces that rose to the importance
of the independence movement. For example, the teachings from Western Muslim or Christian schools
led to an exposure of the political ideology that emphasized natural rights influenced the African elite
to push the need for independence. Another example includes the African National Congress, which
while not terribly effective, defended the interests of Africans. 2.) At the turn of the century, many of
Indians accepted their life under British rule. However, the racism and discrimination lead by the
Europeans inspired Hindus to create a political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Though many events do take place in other regions of the city, we only obtain knowledge of them
through hearsay. Euripedes used this tool in theaters for the audience to visualize the actions instead of
cheapening the experience with the few special affects available to them.
Theme Medea had one obvious theme; hell hath no fury like that of a woman s scorn. It is apparent
from the opening statement of the Nurse that Medea is a very heartless towards anyone who has
crossed her. Once Jason s betrayal is exposed to Medea, she immediately starts to thinks of in a
murderous mentality toward Jason. She goes through any means necessary to hurt Jason.
Characters Medea was born under king Aetees of Colchis as a witch princess. As a youth she met
Jason the Argonaut and fell instantly in love, as was planned by the gods. This drove her to betray her
family and homeland of Colchis by aiding Jason in the retrieval of the Golden Fleece. After this she
was forced to leave with Jason, who she later wed. After many years though, Jason fell for another and
crossed Medea in a way no one should. This led Medea to thirst for a revenge far more devious then
many can imagine. She planned to kill her to children and Jason s new found love. After succeeding in
the destruction of Jason s whole point in existence she fled in a dragon drawn chariot to Athens where
she has been promised refuge.

The Theme Of Darkness In Poor Folk By Dostoyevsky
In the field of replaying books, as she points out, Dostoyevsky intentionally misapprehend Pushkin s
and Gogol s Stationmaster and The Overcoat , respectively, so as to write Poor Folk . This is however
another of his strategies for enlarging the understanding of the protagonist in his epistolary novel. The
theme of darkness is acknowledged to him and expands in his maturity when he wrote; White Nights,
Notes from the Underground that portray the anti hero; Essential Explanation, The Demons show the
growing of his demonic and devilish interpretation and idiosyncrasy, however coping with a genuine
Orthodox tradition. The range of interpretation is narrowed down the demonic, the suicide and hatred
of life and divinity. In the Brothers Karamazov, apparently, a detective story, the catholic church is

A Visit To A Restaurant
While it may seem a little strange that I have never been to an authentic Mexican restaurant in my life,
there is a perfectly good reason why. Chipotle and On The Border, two restaurants on the list as
frequently visited for me just are simply just Americanized Mexican restaurants and definitely do not
qualify as places that stay true to the Mexican culture. Therefore, for this global experience, I decided
to make a visit to an authentic Mexican restaurant named Taqueria Marias and it honestly was worth
the wait. Deciding to share this experience, I took two of my friends along with me and we shared a
lunch at the small restaurant. Almost immediately after entering we noticed that the restaurant was
incredibly lively, the tables were full, everyone was talking and laughing loudly, and the waiters never
stopped smiling as they ran from table to table at breakneck speed. The energy was amazing, unlike
any other restaurant I have ever been to which is really saying something. Once we got seated, we
ordered a guacamole and chips along with a rice and beans for the table and I ordered a vegetarian El
Mixteco Burrito for myself. The food showed up in record time despite there being a ton of people and
it was nothing short of delicious. Additionally, it was quite interesting to see that the waiters were
having conversations with guests at almost every table and even the chef came out to greet everyone
and ask about the food. It was a very interactive opportunity.

Hearing Loss Papers
The sense of hearing allows you to enjoy everything from a good band to the laughter of your
grandchildren. However, hearing loss is common among aging individuals. Understanding hearing
loss causes and how to implement preventative measures will help you savor your favorite sounds.
Hearing loss can be conductive, sensorineural or a combination. Conductive loss can involve the tiny
inner ear bones, the ear drum, or canal. Sensorineural hearing loss relates to nerve damage to the inner
ear and mixed hearing loss includes aspects of each.
What Are Hearing Loss Symptoms?
If you have difficulty understanding when others speak, particularly during larger family gatherings, it
could be a symptom. Ask yourself if you experience any of these signs: ... Show more content on

Over time, the amount of hearing loss can accumulate with repeated infections.
Similarly, allergies and benign tumors can cause hearing loss. Earwax can cause hearing troubles,
which may or may not be corrected with removal services. If the eardrum has been ruptured, you will
have difficulty hearing.
Otosclerosis is a hereditary conductive hearing loss which usually reveals itself in early adulthood and
sometimes presents sensorineural hearing loss challenges as well.
What Causes Sensorineural Hearing Loss?
Unlike conductive hearing loss causes, sensorineural loss is associated with the function of the inner
ear, including the nerves associated with hearing. Tumors, otosclerosis and other forms of genetic
hearing loss conditions can all contribute to this type of loss.
Meniere s Disease is a disorder that includes progressive hearing loss in the low frequency range.
Additional symptoms include vertigo, tinnitus and pressure in the ear. Proper diagnosis and treatment
are necessary for the treatment of this condition.
Other potential contributors to sensorineural hearing loss causes include:

Lev Vygotsky And The Zone Of Proximal Development
Lev Vygotsky and the Zone of Proximal Development
Under normal circumstances, a child will physically develop without outside assistance. While there
can be variations by way of culture, class, and ability, it is difficult to contest that human nature is the
driving force behind the bodily changes that take place from birth until adulthood. In contrast, when it
comes to determining the ways in which a child thinks and learns, there are numerous theories on
what primarily influences cognitive growth and development. One theorist that offered an innovative
look into this latter process was Russian born psychologist, Lev Vygotsky. Vygotsky theorized that
children learn by doing, and their process of development is primarily influenced by the people and
the systems that comprise their environment. What made him stand out from other theorists of the
time is that instead of centering his ideas in behavior, Vygotsky instead focused on the learning
process and the potential for a child to learn. He showed the value pairing learning with a practical
application, and that in doing so, it could make for more effective learning on the part of the child. The
result of such a theory was that provided families and educators an insight on how they might be able
to influence the development experience for a child.
Lev Vygotsky was born and raised in Communist Russia. When he first made his mark in the world of
child development, it was not as an educator, but rather a psychologist. Due the

Analysis Of The Book Jim Crow On Trial
The book Jim Crow on Trial is very much centered around subjects of justice and fairness. As it
follows a real court case, if must do so. The boys suffer through a time of unfair and often cruel
treatment. They are accused by 2 white girls, tried by bias and racist juries, and finally, thrice
convicted of rape and sentenced to death. In their last trial, some had their charges dropped, and others
received only life in prison. Those in prison eventually left on parole. Only one of the boys was
pardoned pre mortem, the rest pardoned 80 years after being accused. So could one honestly say they
received justice? Or is there a time limit on this? I believe so, and I don t think they got the justice due
to them.
To answer the question of did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These two facts allow one to state with confidence that at the beginning of the book, the boys were
treated unfairly. Towards middle of the book is when justice becomes an important aspect. As we
move into the court, we truly get to see all of the unfair moments and unjust components of both the
trial and the case. Directly following their trial, their given sentence (death at the electric chair for all
but one, who was sentenced to life in prison) was overturned. This coming after the Communist Party
of America talked about this case, calling it, American injustice , and asserting that, the Negroes are
wholly innocent of the crimes for which they were sentenced. . This shows that there was injustice in
their trial, as the CPA chose to say. As the story goes on, they go through multiple other trials, each
resulting in a sentence of either death or life in prison. In the end, they are given their final sentence. A
compromise lead to 2 of the boys (the youngest) being set free, though not pardoned. They went to
New York. As for the rest of the boys? They were locked away, and each eventually released on
parole. This is excluding Patterson, who was given life in prison, which he eventually escaped. One of
the boys, Norris eventually formally requested a pardon. It was accepted by George Wallace, who was
as the book said, best known for being an ardent

Marijuana Damages the Mind and Body Essay
In the United States, the most significantly used illicit drug is marijuana. People use this social drug to
ease or enhance interaction (Kornblum 115). The scientific term for this commonly used drug,
marijuana, is Cannabis sativa (Hasday 24). Cannabis sativa is a dioecious hemp plant and can be
produced in various forms. Usually, the dried leaves, flowers, and buds of the plant is used as
marijuana. In addition, the flowers of the female plant and the buds are the most vigorous part.
Furthermore, the plant produces the main psychoactive substance, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)

participants experienced nine neuropsychological tests. Attention, memory, and other cerebral abilities

states long term users performed drastically less on tests of memory and attention. On the Ray
Auditory Verbal Learning Test, long term users recalled significantly fewer words than either short
term users or controls, Solowij reported. Undoubtedly, marijuana use corrupts memory and other
cognitive functions. Therefore, marijuana use causes mental damage to the user. The main stereotype
with marijuana is that it reduces motivation. Symptoms of amotivation include confusion and
diminishing performance. It seems as though marijuana and amotivation remains as a chicken and egg
question. It is unknowable whether smoking cannabis causes amotivation. Moreover, these could by
symptoms of just growing up (Macintosh, sec. 9). On the contrary, this is untrue. Chronic users of
cannabis sativa may develop amotivational syndrome. Constantly being unconcerned about the future

Univeristy of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and his colleagues have studied motivation in

It is an essential to have clear understanding of an organization s purposes to understand how

Home Loans And Bear Stearns ( Jpmorgan Chase Bank
I was unlucky enough to be front and center working for a homebuilder at the time of the real estate

that was very obvious to me as a lack of care for the long term homeowners and their financial
welfare. While the banks like Countrywide Home Loans and Bear Stearns (JPMorgan Chase Bank)
were making billions of dollars on mortgages, they were ridiculous in thinking that this would not
come back on them tenfold. How can you purchase a loan and approve it through underwriting
without first verifying the documents were accurate? How could I get a home loan when I was 21 and
had a credit score of 1? Well, this definitely happened. I had a cosigner, of course, but still, the

The Holocaust And The Nazi Regime During World War II Essay
Introduction
The Second World War is seen by the modern world to be the most famous war that shaped the
communities of the world today, but for the Jewish community in Europe at the time this was the war
to fight for their own existence. The Holocaust was the systematic extinction of six million Jews by
the Nazi regime during World War 2. Of the millions of Jewish people that lost their lives there were
many that did resist and did escape the Nazism and Nazi racial policy that was conducted on the
Jewish lives throughout the war. There were different ways the Jews did resist through different
dimensions of wellbeing, through uprising in the ghettos and camps in a stretch to revolting against
their German captivators whilst secretly keeping their spiritual and religious beliefs as something that
the Nazis could never physically take from them. The Jews showed resistance to German control also
by escaping the camps, and creating Armies and Partisan Groups to fight back. In the findings I was
able to establish an understanding of the different ways during the war the Jews managed to create
upheaval and resist German authority and the fact that a percentage were able to resist.
Uprising in the Ghetto
During World War II eastern Europe was vastly controlled and occupied by Nazi forces in the bid of
control for the German army to win the war. In a bid to win the war, Germany captured and forced

A Summary Of The Short StoryScarlet Ibis
Everyone is faced with struggles throughout their life; however people find their own unique ways to
thrive through hardships. In the short story Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst you learn about a child named
Doodle born with a medical condition but through not giving up, being brave, working hard, he was
able to overcome some challenges. Only, to be pushed too far to death by his older brother who did
not want to pull his brother in a wagon.
With a family already preparing to bury this little baby boy in a coffin before he would see three
months Doodle has other ideas of when his life will come to an end. Wanting nothing else in the world
the narrator wanted a brother who was just as athletically capable as him, only with great fight would
that be possible. Everyone from the family knew that he would never be all straight in the head.
However, one afternoon as I watched him him, my head poked between the iron post of the foot of the
bed, he looked straight at me, and grinned. I skipped through the rooms, down the echoing halls,
shouting, Mama, he smiled. He s all there! He s all there! and he was. Doodle was given the adversity
of this heart condition but he had proved everyone wrong once and he would definitely do it several
more times and continue to fight for a better life. Trembling, he d push himself up, turning first red,
then a soft purple, and finally collapse back onto the bed like a an old worn out doll. Doodle did not
give up easily he wanted better for his life, just like his brother had wished for. Doodle may have been
born invalid at birth, but he sure wasn t going to stay that way. Doodle prevailed during his time he
also was a fighter and battled to get stronger and better with his older brothers help.
Not wanting to be pulled down by a wagon on the daily from pulling Doodle his brother set out to
help him learn to walk after showing Doodle the casket that was made for him when he was just a
baby. Teaching him to walk this would not be a easy process since he could only barely crawl. Doodle
would need to gather all the muscle he could and work very hard to accomplish being able to walk.

The Social and Political Influences Leading up to the...
The Social and Political Influences Leading up to the First World War Romanticism began in the

state. Little over a century ago Italy was divided into five main groups, all subject to political
arrangements made by their foreign rulers. It took 21 years of resistance in the name of Irredentism, to
oust the puppet Autocratic government. Liberal views were enough, Liberal views and the invasion of
Austria(1848), and for a second time in 1859, the invasions were used in order to establish the nation,
and to expel Austrian emigrants from northern Italy, the theme of unifying ones nation through
military action has been exemplified again. In order to determine a nation on the global stage, an
expansionistic foreign policy has been held by both Germany and Italy, and the result has been
successful each time fusing the populace closer together by attaining a sense of achievement through
hardship and therefore a joint heritage and culture. Now

Classical Vs. Keynesian Models Essay
Classical vs Keynesian models
Two economic models of thought are classical and Keynesian models. Each model takes a diverse
approach to the economic education of financial policy, buyer behavior, and government spending.
The classical model, which traces its origins to the 1770s, was the first systematic attempt to explain
the determinants of the price level and the national levels of real GDP, employment, consumption,
savings, and investments. Classical economist Adam Smith and others assumed that all wages and
prices were flexible and that competitive markets existed throughout the economy. Classical economic
theory is fixed in the theory of an (no government) unrestrictive economic market. This model
especially its focus toward macroeconomics relies on four major assumptions: pure competition exists,
wages and prices are flexible, people are motivated by self interest, and people cannot be fooled by
money illusion.
Flexible Prices are the prices of everything; supplies, employment (incomes), property (rent), etc.
must be mutually ascending and descending. However, in truth, it has been perceived that these prices
are not as freely elastic downwards as they are upwards, due to a multiplicity of market limitations,
resembling unions, and laws. Flexible prices confirm that markets regulate to equilibrium and
decrease deficiencies and overages. Say s Law proposes that the aggregate production in an economy
must generate an income enough to purchase all the economy s

Dj Kol Herc Hip Hop History
Like any style of music, hip hop has roots in other forms, and its evolution was shaped by many
different artists, but there s a case to be made that it came to life precisely on this day in 1973, at a
birthday party in the recreation room of an apartment building in the west Bronx, New York City. The
location of that birthplace was 1520 Sedgwick Avenue, and the man who presided over that historic
party was the birthday girl s brother, Clive Campbell better known to history as DJ Kool Herc,
founding father of hip hop.
When hip hop music first developed in the late 1970s, not many people knew about it. It was created
in the poorest districts of New York City by African American and Latino teenagers as part of a hip
hop scene that also produced breakdancing and graffiti art. Many of these young people were
unemployed, but some found work as DJs in discos where they learned deejaying techniques like how
to use two turntables and a DJ mixer to play records non stop. Sometimes they d also deejay at free
block parties in their neighbourhoods where they d play funk and disco tracks non stop and ask a
friend to act as their MC. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
New York duo Run DMC also used hooks in their songs but added hard rock guitar to create a popular
style called rap rock, and their 1986 album Raising Hell became hip hop s first top ten album. When

popular and their debut album Licensed To Ill became hip hop s first number one

Marcus Aurelius Mediations
In the book Mediations by Marcus Aurelius, he has a series of 12 different topics for each chapter.
When Aurelius wrote these books, it was merely more for himself and he didn t mean to release them
to the public, more or less, people who read his books started to follow and agree with his beliefs and
statements. His books range in topics such as discussing one self s existence to relations with God and
death. In Marcus Aurelius first book, it is proposed to give credit to all the people who have helped
shape him into the man he was. In his third book, he discusses his ideas which whom he has learned
from by other philosophers. In his eighth book, it represents a time in Marcus Aurelius life in which he

He starts off by writing, 1. My Grandfather virtues character and self control, 2. My father (from my
own memories and his reputation) integrity and manliness, 3. My mother her reverence for the divine,
her generosity, her inability not only to do wrong but even to conceive of doing it, and the simple way
she lived not in the least like the rich. He continues this for thirteen other people who have made him
the man he was. Aurelius did not live a regular life like others, he was taught to not waste his time on
nonsense and to devote his time to training and disciplining his own character. In the eighth person he
credits, Apollonius, he explicates to have independence and unvarying reliability to be the same in all
circumstance such as pain, a loss of a child, or an illness. This shows that he was taught to be calm
and understanding that everything happens for a reason even at the hardest times it is best to be
patient. The last person Marcus Aurelius gives his thanks to is to his adopted father. He writes that he
learned compassion, hard work, and persistence. He was taught to have devotion to the empire s
needs, to willingly take responsibility and action when needed to and to always plan in

Witness For The Prosecution Essay
This 1957 courtroom production Witness for the Prosecution based on a short story and later a play by
Agatha Christie involves the seasoned barrister and curmudgeon Sir Wilfred Robarte, played by
Charles Laughton. He takes on the murder defense of Leonard Vole played by Tyrone Power. Robarts
private nurse played by Elsa Lancaster objects constantly, reminding him of his doctor s advice to stay
away from criminal cases due to his ill health. Vole is accused of the murder of a wealthy older
woman Mrs. French played by Norma Varden who appeared to have fallen in love with Vole and
changed her will to give him the bulk of her estate. The evidence strongly points to Vole s
involvement. Vole claims his defense is based on the fact that his wife, Christine played by Marlene
Dietrich, will testify that Vole arrived home the evening of the murder long before it transpired.
Robarts counsels Vole that the testimony of his wife ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Application Of A Macbook Pro And Os X
Data, Information, and Organizational Knowledge is this week s assignment and after completing the
required reading/videos introducing the notion of computer basics; I have to answer a few questions
for the case study. So let s get down to business and learn computer basics. So what operating system
does my computer use? For my personal computer I chose to utilize a MacBook Pro and OS X El
Capitan is the operating system that powers my Mac. The OS X operating system is based on the
UNIX foundation. According to Opengroup.org UNIX is the most stable, portable and cost effective
applications development environment for a wide range of platforms from mobile devices to
mainframes.
Some examples of applications residing in my mac is a collection of apps for handling everyday
tasks/life, but they of course are different from the traditional PC in not only name but architecture.
Like Safari for internet/web access, Photos program to handle my photos and videos, Pages for
creating documents like word does, Numbers for making spreadsheets, and iTunes for managing all of
my music library as well as my videos and downloaded media. Mac s come fully loaded with
applications in relation to a standard Pc where you essentially get a machine with trial software vs an
almost fully loaded machine.
With the advent of the cloud I use quite a few apps that are cloud based; the one I use the most and
have experience with on a daily basis is the Notes app. The Notes app is merely an app that

Romeo And Juliet Dialectical Journal

Imagine if you were walking down the aisle on your wedding day which is meant to be the best day
ever, but the person at the end is a stranger. How would you like if the day you have been waiting all
your life is just practically handed to you and isn t even what you wanted or who you wanted to be
with. Well, this is actually how some people s lives happen for them. Such as they have no say in who
they marry because their parents are in control of it all. In Romeo and Juliet this is the same situation
that Juliet and Paris went through in the story. Like how Juliet s parents wanted her to marry Paris at
the age of fourteen. Juliet s family was for arranging marriage since they were arranged when they got
married, but on the other hand Juliet was very against the whole idea of marrying at fourteen,
especially since she was very in love with Romeo even though their two families hated each other.
This caused a lot of problems with Juliet s family and that she would have to ... Show more content on

This is a big deal when things are arranged for people even though some people don t see it. For
example, Tim Arango stated, I tried to kill myself, she said. I did not want to get married. I was forced
to get engaged (Arango). This is showing how the amount of stress put on people can have severe
endings leading to death. In like manner Arango also stated that, Officials are alarmed by what they
described as a worsening epidemic of suicides, particularly among young women tormented by being
forced to marry to young, to someone they do not love . So even though some people do realize the
amount of stress put on people it is still necessary that everyone needs to realize what could happen if
you force something to happen when it s not meant to be. It s clear now that if you are doing this to
someone that you could have more severe things happen that you need to keep in

mammals have held a residency on this Earth for millions of years with ancestors dating back to
prehistoric times. They are not only a part of our history, but also a part of myth and legends that have
been told throughout generations and various cultures. There are three major groups of marine
mammals found around the world. Marine mammals include at least 117 species within the orders
Carnivora, Sirenia, and Cetacea (Thurman, 2014). Today, these often gentle and intelligent creatures
are faced with many obstacles and challenges to survive and adapt. While adaptation has been a
natural process for all species through time and evolution, these sea creatures are being forced to adapt
at a faster rate in the last century. This has been largely due to an increase of human fishing, ocean
pollution, and climate change. Sadly, for some, these adjustments in their natural environment are
creating changes faster than they can evolve or survive. Figure 1 Evolution Sea mammals have
evolved from land animals to marine animals from their former land ancestors going back as far as the
Paleocene Age which occurred 65 million years ago. The earliest representatives of these

going to die, there s no way to escape just live life to the fullest and to be die and to be live is a

Crimes Of The Black Policeman
crimes. For example, Ricky and Tre drive away from the party on the street, and two crooked black
and white policemen pull them over. The black policeman, Officer Coffey, has both Ricky and Tre
step outside of the car, and proceeds to start questioning Tre. Tre quickly pleads, I didn t do nothin !
Officer Coffey retorts, You think you tough? He then pulls out his gun, points it at Ricky s face, and
sternly says: Scared now, ain t you? I like that. That s why I took this job. I hate little motherfuckers
like you... Look like one of them Crenshaw mafia motherfuckers. (Boyz in the Hood) This
unnecessary action scares Tre as he is forced up against his car crying and shaking his head with no
power to say a word. It is this discrimination from inside the community that, while possibly helping
to reduce violence, causes the very stereotype of blacks being the number one target of enforcement,
the crime of simply driving while being black. There are some who still struggle to succeed in
everyday life, but do not result to alcohol or violence; these few can still go on to be successful, but
often still have to deal with discrimination and violence. Take, for instance, Ricky; he struggles
educationally, but does not result to alcohol or violence to deal his problems. His approach to succeed
is through hard work and practice on the football field. While he may not be blessed with intelligence,
he has skilled ability on the athletic field that leads him to be an

The Policy Categories And Be Able For Cite Examples
1) Review the policy categories and be able to cite examples: a) Constituent policies involves the
structure that makes up the government. Constituent policies are concerned with the establishment of
government structure, establishment of rules or procedures for the conduct of government, rules that
distribute or divide power and jurisdiction within the present and future government policies might be
made. A structural example of constituent policy is the creation of the Department of Homeland
Security. In 2002, President George Bush did not see the need of a department to manage terrorism,
however, he changed his mind and called on Congress to create a Department of Homeland Security.
A procedural example of constituent policy is the Federal Administrative Procedure Act of 1946 with
outlined the procedures to be used by agencies to ensure openness and fairness in agency decision
making. Constituent policies also include matters that involve personnel practices and budgetary
actions. b) Distributive policies the allocation of benefits or services, at no cost, to particular segments
of the population individuals, groups, companies, or communities. These benefits or services include
subsidies, grants, loans, technical assistance, information (as on the weather), contracts,
unemployment benefits, and river and harbor improvement actions. The cost of these benefits and
services are paid from the public treasury, which means taxpayer generally. c) Substantive

Neuroplasticity and Justice
Justice is often thought of in nebulous terms. As such, it is often viewed through a philosophical lens.
Indeed, justice has been examined by prominent philosophers such as John Rawls and Friedrich
Hayek. Often regarded as a soft science, the idea of justice finds itself the subject of a theoretical
framework rather than of scientific study. Despite this theoretical view, much of the theory
surrounding justice seeks to determine the causes for a given type of behavior. These theories discuss
which penological methods work to correct these behaviors. However, the theory that one can modify
his or her brain in order to create new behaviors exists within the scientific biological/psychological
realm. By contrast, there are those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is concurrent with the logical, conscious reasoning of the C system that overrides the X system s
prototypes in order to closely analyze a new situation and adapt accordingly. Thus, fairness (justice) is
an extension of cognitive behavioral regulation. Akin to the sense of reparation that Jackman (2012)
discusses when one applies the concept of restorative justice, the concept of neuroplasticity also seeks
a sense of reparation, albeit in a more literal way. Consistent with the idea of learning and the brain s
interaction with the environment, neuroplasticity is the idea that the human brain can change and
grow, that it can modify itself to compensate for weak spots and expand limits (Cockrell, 2007). For
example, it was once thought that neuron production slows down exponentially in adulthood, but
research reveals that this is not the case. Research has found that the brains of aging cancer patients
were still able to produce new neurons (Cockrell, 2007). The human brain is an extremely complex
organ. Inside the average human brain, there are 200 billion neurons. These neurons allow for trillions
of connections (Arrowsmith, 2013). Arrowsmith (2013) discussed Mark Rosenshwag, a neuroscientist
who conducted an experiment with rats. Rosenswag placed the rats in a stimulating environment and
found that rats were better learners because of the stimulation. More importantly, he noted that the
brains of the rats being studied changed

My Goal In My Life
I would have to say that my life task will be to be a problem solver. In the video Tom Kelley(Founder
Ideo) Do What You Love the Venn diagram utilized by Jim Collins shows that with a good balance
you can find your life task. Fourteen years ago, I used to work for Hewlett Packard and like the Venn
diagram I was good at it, I was born to do and I got paid to do what I loved, code and solve problems.
The environment was good to work, every Friday after work we used to gather outside the building to
play dominoes. I would say if you asked myself where I saw me in five or ten years I would have
answered that I would be working at Hewlett Packard. But that was not how it happened my division
was the first one to go after the Compaq merger. This is probably my starting point for my mastery
journey.
I moved the family to Orlando, FL and started my own business. I used to put a lot of ours in to it and
it was consuming a lot of time and it was not healthy for the kids or my marriage. It is not until that
life took a good turn and I got the opportunity to work for Florida Virtual School. It is quite a
turnaround since my Mother and Sisters are all educators and I didn t want to follow their footsteps
that is why I studied Computer Science. Since I like to solve problems and find better ways to do the
work after two years working for FLVS I started to play around with BI tools that is when I had the
great Idea to pursue a degree in the subject matter. One of the negative aspects

Gangs And The United States
Gangs are very dangerous to everyone in society. Gangs are groups of people (mostly young males)
who band together for protection and a sense of belonging. The U.S. Department of Justice officially
defines a youth gang as a group of young people involved in criminal activity (Gangs 1). There are
about one million gang members in more than 20,00 criminally active gangs in the United States.
Also, that group of about one million people, are accountable for up to eighty percent of our nation s
crimes. Since 2005, gangs have nationally added about 200,000 members (Targeting Gangs 1). This is
why more action from the community needs to be taken to help with the growing gang related crimes
here in America.
To start off, origins of gangs are unclear, but some researchers say that gangs came to America in the
early 1800s. These first gangs were in New York and Philadelphia and members of these adult gangs
were from the Irish, German, and Italian ethnic groups. Youth gangs did not start to form until after
World War II (Opposing Viewpoints Gangs 109 110).
Additionally, what kind of people are in gangs? Well first off, there are Latinos, which make up forty
nine percent of gang members ; African Americans, thirty four percent; White, ten percent; Asian, six
percent; and the other one percent is just the other category ( Facts About Gangs 109). Also in 1996,
according to the National Youth Gang Survey, the members of gangs were fifty percent under eighteen
years old and fifty

  • 2. Analysis Of Strange Memes, By Sherry Turkle Humans have mastered the skill of copying others. Mostly everyone follows what they were shown; they copy whatever they were taught. This is the idea of memes being passed down. Susan Blackmore describes how memes have taken over our lives. She talks in her article, Strange Creatures, what memes are and how the theory of selfish meme theory is being shown throughout living creatures. Meme is the idea of imitating someone else s thoughts. Selfish is implied as thoughts being passed down and trying to dominate other thoughts. Memes spread randomly and humans continue to use those same thoughts. Mostly no one believes in creating their own thoughts. She describes how the thought of copying has been passed down and the idea that occurs is spread throughout everyone. Sherry Turkle specifically talks about the use of technology in her article, Alone Together . Everyone uses technology whether it is good for them or not. Turkle describes how everyone has become desperate to their gadgets. She talks more about people becoming dependent and how people want technology. Blackmore s theory applies to Turkle s examples of the use of technology. The idea that the use of technology is a meme. Everyone believes the use of technology is necessary for daily lives since it has become normal to them. Therefore, the use of meme theory is being shown in society s daily lives; this makes the outcome of the use of meme theory scary since everyone is copying others and not showing ... • 3. The Between 1879 And 1980 Throughout the period between 1879 and 1980 the relationships between the powers changed greatly in their nature, coinciding with a shift in the balance of power. The Entente Cordiale of 1904 can certainly be seen as a key turning point, along with other factors such as Neville Chamberlain s policy of appeasement, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the SALT I and II agreements. The signing of the Entente Cordiale in 1904 epitomised the ever growing division on the European stage in the early 1900s, and certainly contributed to a pre war alliance which precipitated the outbreak of World War One. At the time, the highly unlikely signing of an Anglo French agreement can be seen by Gavin as a, construct as an affront towards Germany . However, from the point of German interests, they had no objections to the treaty and had no reason to suppose that the alliance was directed against any one power. The period of Britain s largely mythical splendid isolation , formally ending by the 1902 Anglo Japanese Alliance, Britain began to expand its relations with European countries. The signing of the Entente Cordiale can certainly suggest that Germany ought to be concerned, and is certainly significant when determining any alteration in the relationships of the powers and shift in the balance of power. A way in which the Entente Cordiale was significant was that it was firstly tested in the 1905 Morocco Crisis, only 13 months within the signing of the cordiale, suggests German objection ... • 4. Theodore Roosevelt, Bull Moose, Rough Rider, And The Lion Theodore Roosevelt: Teddy , Bull Moose , Rough Rider , and The Lion . These were some of the nicknames of our 26th president of the United States. Theodore Roosevelt was known to be tough and couragous just like a lion. However, Roosevelt was a weakling during his early years. Because of his severe asthma, he was home schooled and constantly had to travel to many different countries. Because of his asthma, he often stayed home and spent his days reading. With the knowledge gained from reading and learning, he later got accepted to Harvard. But, Roosevelt was soon faced with another challenge. His father, who he looked up to, the most, had passed away. Following his father s traumatic death, Roosevelt quit Harvard. These events taught Roosevelt many life lessons that helped him in the near future. Although Theodore Roosevelt had accomplished a lot during his political years, Roosevelt s childhood and early life is superior to the other years because it made him into who we know him as today. To begin, Theodore Roosevelt s love for reading at a young age shaped him into an intellectual. Theodore Roosevelt read an abundant amount of books from a young age. The knowledge gained from reading became a foundation for many of Roosevelt s accomplishments. In a biography of Theodore Roosevelt, it says, He also became more of a person by reading omnivorously from an early age and using what he read to look into the future (Dalton 9, 10). Roosevelt applied all the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. William Shakespeare s The Elizabethan Era William Shakespeare, possibly the greatest writer in English language, had different views about the world than most writers. Shakespeare completely disagreed with the Elizabethan society he lived in and with the concept of time. He found his society s views unproductive and incorrect and he believed that time should not be a part of life, since it causes too much harm. His work showed how he viewed the concept of love and friendship and how someone cannot live his or her life properly without loving someone and being loved in return. Shakespeare s worldview and the society he resided in become illuminated throughout his work, especially in his sonnets. His work reflects the importance of love and friendship as well as his disagreement with time and the Elizabethan Era s views. William Shakespeare lived his life and wrote his works during the Elizabethan Era. His writing in his sonnets often differed with the Elizabethan worldview. For example, the Elizabethan society believed in a strong hierarchal system. However, Shakespeare often wrote about a strong female. And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare/ As any She belied with false compare (Shakespeare, Sonnet 130). Shakespeare believed that a female can be just as strong, sometimes even stronger, than a male. His rejection of feminine qualities continue to intrigue today s writers. Shakespeare s insistence through his speaker in Sonnet 130 to have a real, flesh and blood mistress rather than an ideal goddess is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Los Angeles Riots Of 1992 The Los Angeles riots of 1992, the worst civil disturbance in America, brought to light the deepening racial and class divisions that were growing in the U.S. The division of between the rich and the poor, the immigrants and natives, and majority and minority produced an atmosphere of fear, distrust, and hopelessness. Due to the struggle to gain power by racial and ethnic groups, the aftermath of the Los Angeles riots was clouded with racial and ethnical conflicts. However, the riots did increase racial awareness for Korean Americans between the different ethnicities. Dialogue was opened between people, whom prior to the riot, did not interact with each other. Even so, African American, Latino, White, and Asian American victims shared their anger and resentment towards the government for not providing adequate compensation and aid for their losses. For Korean Americans and immigrants, the Los Angeles riots of 1992 dramatically altered their course of life in America. They suffered the heaviest losses as a result of the riots with over 2,000 Korean American owned stores being looted, burned, or damaged; this amounted to a gigantic sum of around $400 million in losses. The riots of 1992 has a deepening economic, psychological, and ideological impact on Korean Americans that was referred to as a turning point in their long 100 year history of immigration to the United States. • 7. Classic Colonialism In Africa 1.) Classic colonialism in Africa developed a rule of the economic agenda to its citizens livelihoods and health. Colonialism provided a small amount of modern health care, and many of the policies of classic colonialism worsened the state of public health. As a result, this destabilized the average African household, and gave an easy rise to larger cities, causing a new level of racism in Africa. After World War two, Africans would turn to Islam or Christianity; and many (especially those who participated in WW2) demanded independence. There were several forces that rose to the importance of the independence movement. For example, the teachings from Western Muslim or Christian schools led to an exposure of the political ideology that emphasized natural rights influenced the African elite to push the need for independence. Another example includes the African National Congress, which while not terribly effective, defended the interests of Africans. 2.) Though many events do take place in other regions of the city, we only obtain knowledge of them through hearsay. Euripedes used this tool in theaters for the audience to visualize the actions instead of cheapening the experience with the few special affects available to them. It is apparent from the opening statement of the Nurse that Medea is a very heartless towards anyone who has crossed her. Once Jason s betrayal is exposed to Medea, she immediately starts to thinks of in a murderous mentality toward Jason. She goes through any means necessary to hurt Jason. Characters Medea was born under king Aetees of Colchis as a witch princess. As a youth she met Jason the Argonaut and fell instantly in love, as was planned by the gods. The Theme Of Darkness In Poor Folk By Dostoyevsky In the field of replaying books, as she points out, Dostoyevsky intentionally misapprehend Pushkin s and Gogol s Stationmaster and The Overcoat , respectively, so as to write Poor Folk . The theme of darkness is acknowledged to him and expands in his maturity when he wrote; White Nights, Notes from the Underground that portray the anti hero; Essential Explanation, The Demons show the growing of his demonic and devilish interpretation and idiosyncrasy, however coping with a genuine Orthodox tradition. • 10. A Visit To A Restaurant While it may seem a little strange that I have never been to an authentic Mexican restaurant in my life, there is a perfectly good reason why. Chipotle and On The Border, two restaurants on the list as frequently visited for me just are simply just Americanized Mexican restaurants and definitely do not qualify as places that stay true to the Mexican culture. Therefore, for this global experience, I decided to make a visit to an authentic Mexican restaurant named Taqueria Marias and it honestly was worth the wait. Deciding to share this experience, I took two of my friends along with me and we shared a lunch at the small restaurant. Almost immediately after entering we noticed that the restaurant was incredibly lively, the tables were full, everyone was talking and laughing loudly, and the waiters never stopped smiling as they ran from table to table at breakneck speed. The energy was amazing, unlike any other restaurant I have ever been to which is really saying something. Once we got seated, we ordered a guacamole and chips along with a rice and beans for the table and I ordered a vegetarian El Mixteco Burrito for myself. The food showed up in record time despite there being a ton of people and it was nothing short of delicious. Additionally, it was quite interesting to see that the waiters were having conversations with guests at almost every table and even the chef came out to greet everyone and ask about the food. It was a very interactive opportunity. As is well ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Lev Vygotsky And The Zone Of Proximal Development Lev Vygotsky and the Zone of Proximal Development Under normal circumstances, a child will physically develop without outside assistance. While there can be variations by way of culture, class, and ability, it is difficult to contest that human nature is the driving force behind the bodily changes that take place from birth until adulthood. In contrast, when it comes to determining the ways in which a child thinks and learns, there are numerous theories on what primarily influences cognitive growth and development. One theorist that offered an innovative look into this latter process was Russian born psychologist, Lev Vygotsky. Vygotsky theorized that children learn by doing, and their process of development is primarily influenced by the people and the systems that comprise their environment. What made him stand out from other theorists of the time is that instead of centering his ideas in behavior, Vygotsky instead focused on the learning process and the potential for a child to learn. He showed the value pairing learning with a practical application, and that in doing so, it could make for more effective learning on the part of the child. The result of such a theory was that provided families and educators an insight on how they might be able to influence the development experience for a child. • 13. Analysis Of The Book Jim Crow On Trial The book Jim Crow on Trial is very much centered around subjects of justice and fairness. As it follows a real court case, if must do so. The boys suffer through a time of unfair and often cruel treatment. They are accused by 2 white girls, tried by bias and racist juries, and finally, thrice convicted of rape and sentenced to death. In their last trial, some had their charges dropped, and others received only life in prison. Those in prison eventually left on parole. Only one of the boys was pardoned pre mortem, the rest pardoned 80 years after being accused. So could one honestly say they received justice? Or is there a time limit on this? As we move into the court, we truly get to see all of the unfair moments and unjust components of both the trial and the case. Directly following their trial, their given sentence (death at the electric chair for all but one, who was sentenced to life in prison) was overturned. This coming after the Communist Party of America talked about this case, calling it, American injustice , and asserting that, the Negroes are wholly innocent of the crimes for which they were sentenced. . This shows that there was injustice in their trial, as the CPA chose to say. As the story goes on, they go through multiple other trials, each resulting in a sentence of either death or life in prison. In the end, they are given their final sentence. A compromise lead to 2 of the boys (the youngest) being set free, though not pardoned. They went to New York. As for the rest of the boys? They were locked away, and each eventually released on parole. This is excluding Patterson, who was given life in prison, which he eventually escaped. It is unknowable whether smoking cannabis causes amotivation. Moreover, these could by symptoms of just growing up (Macintosh, sec. 9). On the contrary, this is untrue. Usually, general objectives lead to clarification of purposes and responsibilities at all level of organizations. Management is the process of communicating, coordinating and accomplishing action in the pursuit of organization objectives while managing relationship with stakeholders, technologies and other artifacts, both within as well as between organizations. While the banks like Countrywide Home Loans and Bear Stearns (JPMorgan Chase Bank) were making billions of dollars on mortgages, they were ridiculous in thinking that this would not come back on them tenfold. The Holocaust And The Nazi Regime During World War II Essay Introduction The Second World War is seen by the modern world to be the most famous war that shaped the communities of the world today, but for the Jewish community in Europe at the time this was the war to fight for their own existence. The Holocaust was the systematic extinction of six million Jews by the Nazi regime during World War 2. Of the millions of Jewish people that lost their lives there were many that did resist and did escape the Nazism and Nazi racial policy that was conducted on the Jewish lives throughout the war. There were different ways the Jews did resist through different dimensions of wellbeing, through uprising in the ghettos and camps in a stretch to revolting against their German captivators whilst secretly keeping their spiritual and religious beliefs as something that the Nazis could never physically take from them. The Jews showed resistance to German control also by escaping the camps, and creating Armies and Partisan Groups to fight back. In the findings I was able to establish an understanding of the different ways during the war the Jews managed to create upheaval and resist German authority and the fact that a percentage were able to resist. • 22. Classical Vs. Keynesian Models Essay Classical vs Keynesian models Two economic models of thought are classical and Keynesian models. Each model takes a diverse approach to the economic education of financial policy, buyer behavior, and government spending. The classical model, which traces its origins to the 1770s, was the first systematic attempt to explain the determinants of the price level and the national levels of real GDP, employment, consumption, savings, and investments. Classical economist Adam Smith and others assumed that all wages and prices were flexible and that competitive markets existed throughout the economy. Classical economic theory is fixed in the theory of an (no government) unrestrictive economic market. This model especially its focus toward macroeconomics relies on four major assumptions: pure competition exists, wages and prices are flexible, people are motivated by self interest, and people cannot be fooled by money illusion. Flexible Prices are the prices of everything; supplies, employment (incomes), property (rent), etc. must be mutually ascending and descending. However, in truth, it has been perceived that these prices are not as freely elastic downwards as they are upwards, due to a multiplicity of market limitations, resembling unions, and laws. Flexible prices confirm that markets regulate to equilibrium and decrease deficiencies and overages. While adaptation has been a natural process for all species through time and evolution, these sea creatures are being forced to adapt at a faster rate in the last century. Thus, fairness (justice) is an extension of cognitive behavioral regulation. Akin to the sense of reparation that Jackman (2012) discusses when one applies the concept of restorative justice, the concept of neuroplasticity also seeks a sense of reparation, albeit in a more literal way. Consistent with the idea of learning and the brain s interaction with the environment, neuroplasticity is the idea that the human brain can change and grow, that it can modify itself to compensate for weak spots and expand limits (Cockrell, 2007). For example, it was once thought that neuron production slows down exponentially in adulthood, but research reveals that this is not the case. Research has found that the brains of aging cancer patients were still able to produce new neurons (Cockrell, 2007). The human brain is an extremely complex organ. Inside the average human brain, there are 200 billion neurons. These neurons allow for trillions of connections (Arrowsmith, 2013). Arrowsmith (2013) discussed Mark Rosenshwag, a neuroscientist who conducted an experiment with rats. Rosenswag placed the rats in a stimulating environment and found that rats were better learners because of the stimulation. More importantly, he noted that the brains of the rats being studied changed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. My Goal In My Life I would have to say that my life task will be to be a problem solver. In the video Tom Kelley(Founder Ideo) Do What You Love the Venn diagram utilized by Jim Collins shows that with a good balance you can find your life task. Fourteen years ago, I used to work for Hewlett Packard and like the Venn diagram I was good at it, I was born to do and I got paid to do what I loved, code and solve problems. The environment was good to work, every Friday after work we used to gather outside the building to play dominoes. I would say if you asked myself where I saw me in five or ten years I would have answered that I would be working at Hewlett Packard. But that was not how it happened my division was the first one to go after the Compaq merger. This is probably my starting point for my mastery journey. I moved the family to Orlando, FL and started my own business. I used to put a lot of ours in to it and it was consuming a lot of time and it was not healthy for the kids or my marriage. It is not until that life took a good turn and I got the opportunity to work for Florida Virtual School. It is quite a turnaround since my Mother and Sisters are all educators and I didn t want to follow their footsteps that is why I studied Computer Science. Since I like to solve problems and find better ways to do the work after two years working for FLVS I started to play around with BI tools that is when I had the great Idea to pursue a degree in the subject matter. One of the negative aspects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Gangs And The United States Gangs are very dangerous to everyone in society. Gangs are groups of people (mostly young males) who band together for protection and a sense of belonging. The U.S. Department of Justice officially defines a youth gang as a group of young people involved in criminal activity (Gangs 1). There are about one million gang members in more than 20,00 criminally active gangs in the United States. Also, that group of about one million people, are accountable for up to eighty percent of our nation s crimes. Since 2005, gangs have nationally added about 200,000 members (Targeting Gangs 1). This is why more action from the community needs to be taken to help with the growing gang related crimes here in America. To start off, origins of gangs are unclear, but some researchers say that gangs came to America in the early 1800s. These first gangs were in New York and Philadelphia and members of these adult gangs were from the Irish, German, and Italian ethnic groups. Youth gangs did not start to form until after World War II (Opposing Viewpoints Gangs 109 110). Additionally, what kind of people are in gangs? Well first off, there are Latinos, which make up forty nine percent of gang members ; African Americans, thirty four percent; White, ten percent; Asian, six percent; and the other one percent is just the other category ( Facts About Gangs 109). Also in 1996, according to the National Youth Gang Survey, the members of gangs were fifty percent under eighteen years old and fifty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
