Compare And Contrast The United States Vs The Congo
United States Versus the Congo
Do you ever think about how lucky you are? You should. You live in one of many countries that cares
for its citizens. Living in America you have opportunities that other countries will never have. For
example, there are many third world countries that struggle daily to keep multiple citizens alive. These
citizens have to fight for their lives and sometimes never get any form of medical help. Whereas in
America we have many different resources that allow us to be a strong world power, if we lost citizens
by the hundreds weekly we would be a country in need. Many countries in Africa are considered third
world countries because they are overpopulated and under developed.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), located in Central Africa, struggles daily because the
government fails. The country has been in civil conflicts for nearly a decade, this however is not the
main health hazard. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Congo was a popular location for slave trade,
while foreign powers intruded they also exposed the area to their diseases that have remained for
centuries. These diseases have developed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, HIV/AIDS are a big threat in both countries, along with poliomyelitis (polio), and
different strains of influenza. The United States again has better medical resources to fight these
diseases, unlike the DRC, who can only succumb to these diseases. A lot of these diseases can be
prevented by vaccinations. The medical organizations in both the United States and the Democratic
Republic of the Congo, are spreading awareness for the need of vaccinations. These vaccines, allow
your body to fight off deadly diseases, but being vaccinated is very important. They allow you to
continue your daily life. These vaccines however do not help those who are already infected by the

Seven Steps To Heaven
Question 2: Fred Khumalo, Seven Steps to Heaven
The novel Seven Steps to Heaven talks about two close friends, Thulani and Sizwe. The two have
been friends since the age of nine, and have continued their friendship till maturity and after
matriculation. The novel demonstrates a relationship of two boys who began their relationship on a
wrong footing. The relationship began after an unpleasant episode where they were bullying each
other. After the parents intervention the relationship grew tighter. In different stages of the novel
Sizwe struggles with issues of his own identity and approval. This essay will discuss this key theme of
the novel and further indicate how the novel elaborates on this theme.
The two boys relationship grew tighter when they became older because they attended the same
school, had a lot in common, and stayed in the same town. Their fathers used to drink beer together,

At Kokoroshe s house there was a helper with the name of Nolitha. Thulani was always the one who
would start conversations with Nolitha. That did not sit well with Sizwe as this indicated to him that
Thulani was always ahead of him in everything they did. That did not sit well with him. In one
instance, Sizwe is quoted as saying why do I always come after Thulani (94), he feels an identity
approval crisis and does not know what more to do. The layers of the chopped onions are not getting
any better for him. The more you think you are winning, the deeper into layers you get. Sizwe s
problem was his uncertainty about who he is. This ironically confirms his identity crisis. He does not
want to live under Thulani s shadow, but it looks like he does not have a choice, but to let Thulani
control him. He does not know his real identity regarding his written stories as he has always awaited

Romanticism As A Source Of Spirituality
Classification
Romanticism is a time period in history based on a cultural revolution. It is defined differently based
on geographical location, however it overall incorporates the same common principles: (1)
imagination, (2) individuality, (3) nature as a source of spirituality, (4) looking to the past for wisdom,
and (5) seeing the common man as a hero. These common principles are what inspired writers and
artists of the time to fabricate ideas. This is how the period got named romanticism for the term
romantic, [was] long synonymous with false, fictitious and unnatural (Courthion, 1961, p. 7). Defining
the movement is what overtime pulled the art community away from the previous baroque era. By the
late 1700s romance thus had come to refer broadly to any work that could be distinguished from
works principally realistic in form and subject matter (Davey, 2006). Against the common
misconception, the Romantic Movement was not considered to be strongly influenced by love. Instead
the historically been associated with narratives of adventure, romance, and myth as opposed to
realistic stories or portrayals of history, politics, or everyday life (Romanticism, 2014).
The Beginning Historians associate the Romantic Movement as coming out of Europe as [it was a]
reaction to Napoleonic era conservatism and the political norms and the rationalization of nature
associated with Enlightenment (Romanticism, 2014). The focus on romantic literature commenced in

King Leopold 2 Research Paper
The second king of Belgians, King Leopold II, were admired throughout European. He was first
known for his generous and noble act, sacrificing his time and fortune to benefits the Africans. Of
course, Edmund Dene Morel learned the truth behind King Leopold II s practices of slave labors and
eventually brought it to the public eyes. King Leopold II was able to keep the horrific practices of
slavery murder, and mutilation of millions in the Congo hidden from the rest of the world for roughly
two decades through propagandas. As stated on page 1, ... the troop, it is said, fought, and defeated
local slave traders who preyed on the population, and for more than a decade European newspaper has

The slaughter of millions in the Congo Free State around the turn of the twentieth century is not
remembered as well and is not taught in history classes as much as other atrocities and genocides of
the twentieth century because the Holocaust outshined the other genocides which is the reason why
the subject entered the curricula, not everything is going to be covered. Another way I see it is that the
other genocides are not close to America s cultural heritage. There are many people in America that

Features And Functions Of Information Systems
P4: Describe the features and functions of information systems
In this document I am going to describe the features and functions of an information system. The
businesses I am going to use are Campsmount Academy and Wabtec.
An information system is a combination of People, IT and business processes that helps management
make decisions to run their business successfully.
Features of an information systems
Data
Data is a very important feature in an information system. The data in these systems are stored in its
original form. This is because the important information in the system can be used when needed to do
specific functions. For example, WABTEC s integrated information system. In this system important
data is stored. Such as, personal information (address, name, department), shift patterns, different
contract information and supplier information. All this information is placed in one document with
drop down menus. This allows the user to search and find the information easier and it is simple. Also
the data will be clearer and easier to understand as there will be only that piece of data that has been
searched for seen.
People
People that use these types of information systems need to be trained and qualified to use them as this
will help reduce the risk of incidences happening and losing valuable information. Qualified people
are required to make the system so that they are familiar that the companies system. If they don t make
the system they need to be

Humor By Mairs Summary
Humor can be a powerful instrument in an arduous situation, although it may seem like a form of
stupidity to some. Professor Mairs finds humor through self deprecation even though she is sick.
Professor Mairs wrote, [a]lmost every pickle that I get into as a result of my weakness and clumsiness
and I get into plenty is funny as well as maddening and sometimes painful (Mairs, 259). The author is
teaching the reader that having a good sense of humor makes a bad situation bearable, even a painful
one. There are many forms of humor that are shown to be Mairs way of relieving the frustration that
comes with being crippled, when she gives an account of her falling in a restroom at work due the
disease s effect on her body, and she laughs at herself. Professor Mairs writes, Saturday afternoon, the
building deserted, I was free to laugh aloud as I wriggled back to my feet, my voice bouncing off the

she doesn t fall into a depressed mindset. An example of this is exhibited when Mairs is opening can

Symptoms And Treatment Of Schizophrenia Essay
Diagnosing psychological disorders has become more prevalent in our society because more people
are willing to seek help regardless of the stigma that comes with having a label. This paper will go in
depth on the psychotic disorder called Schizophrenia. Like the majority of psychological disorders, we
will discuss how a patient is determined to have a mental disorder based on the three criteria based on
distress, impairment, and risk of harm. The neuropsychosocial factors that play a crucial role in the
development of schizophrenia will be addressed. The causes of schizophrenia include frontal lobe
defect, overproduction of dopamine, and genetics which due to a certain degree of stress a person
experiences can trigger any of the neuropsychosocial factors making them vulnerable to developing
the disorder. We will also look at the kind of symptoms a schizophrenic patient possesses and the
therapeutic or medical treatments that they receive in order to achieve a relief of these symptoms. This
research paper is meant to provide possible directions for future research on the causes of
schizophrenia which is still not entirely known and what treatment would be more effective than
medication to provide relief of symptoms since the disorder is incurable.

Social Media Reflection
Social media is a medium in which people post about whatever they deem necessary. According to
Sherry Turkle s book Alone Together, a vast majority of teens also use it to create a name for
themselves and to pretend to be someone else; someone they want to be. However, in analyzing my
social media, it was very difficult to find any trace of what kind of character I was attempting to
portray. One similarity that I can see between Turkle s analysis of social media and my personal
account is that my account does portray a type of person that I aspire to be. Online, I am in some
unconscious way making a name for myself, but the problem arises when there are no differences
between my social media self and my real self. Online I portray myself as a chill, relaxed person and
my Facebook reflects that very well. I am not here to impress anybody and I do not share anything for
any other reason besides the fact that I enjoyed that thing. I post when I feel I need to yet looking
deeper into my likes and shares there are some small, significant patterns between what I like and how
it affects my image. Analyzing my social media account, I found that I generally use a calm, realistic
tone to give the impression that I am a real relaxed, dust in the wind kind of guy. I don t care to change
my profile picture and haven t changed it since 8th grade. Even most of what I like and/or share has no
specific agenda, it s just simply what I find interesting or funny. On top of that, I haven t even shared
anything in about ten months and the only things I like are things that my family shares with me or
tags me in. I have not physically posted an update of my life or anything in five years only because I
don t feel the need to. For example, the last text post that I made was on my birthday in 2013, when I
thanked everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Even reading through my recent shares, I ve come
to realize that I do not intend to portray myself in any different way other than what I am. The last
thing that I shared was a video of a cat I thought my sister would find amusing (which she did). On
Facebook, I give off the impression that I am a very laid back person and that is truly how I act. Just

Summary Of Harm De Blij s Why Geography Matters
Harm de Blij s book, Why Geography Matters poses a central theme, which I have heard discussed
multiple times. Blij argues that the American public is the most geographically illiterate society in the
world. Blij blames this decline with the poorly formulated curricula in the American school systems,
which ultimately originates from Washington D.C. and the people that run this country. If I had never
seen this central theme in action in a classroom I would have been dumbfounded. In one short
paragraph Blij summarized how America s illiteracy began, which this then becomes the central theme
of his book that relates to the educational field. Blij writes that professional educators took control of
the system and combined the subjects of history, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As every day passes China grows stronger in every aspect and eventually they will be knocking on
America s doorstep in each of those categories. Economically, China is closing rapidly, but even the
sleeping giant as Napoleon Bonaparte called it, has its limits. To be blunt, China is resource hungry
and who knows what their country will do next. With the level of nationalism that their people have,
China could go in multiple directions. For example, let us look at both China attempting to exert
control over the South China Sea and also with the Senkaku Islands. Both of these areas are becoming
more and more hostile, which ultimately could lead to deadly military engagements. With that being
said, Blij also proposes an argument that I have been pondering for a while and that is a potential cold
war between the U.S.A. and China. On the outside it seems as if there is a potential collision course to
that conclusion. However, Blij does offer an interesting solution to this possibility and it is one that I
believe should be the strongest takeaway. Blij suggests that trade, scientific, cultural and educational
links and exchanges can be the solution to this issue. After all, China is responsible for many of the
essential aspects to our life. Therefore, the least we as Americans can do is learn the various
geographical aspects that encircle

Is College Worth It Essay
When college pops up in the mind of a high school graduate they sometimes ask themselves, is it
really worth it . Well the answer is yes! College is very much worth it. Many times people have
debated on wether to go to college or just stay as a high school graduate.
But i m here to prove that college is worth it because you get paid more, earn responsibility, and you
get health insurance and retirement plans.
First, college is more valuable because you get paid more. According to Pro Con Arguments it states,
on average, a college graduate with a bachelor degree earned $30,000 more per year than a high
school graduate, over $500,000 more over an year. This shows that high school graduates don t make
a lot of money, that s why it s important to get an education and money. Getting an education gets you
money and it s important to go to college because if you don t go to college you are more likely to
never gain responsibility for anything you do in life. Most people agree with going to college to make
money but others just think that college is just a waste and you only go there to go to school but
actually going to college gets you in the idea of making your own decisions and also taking

The music played throughout all of the concerts adhered to be diverse. The instruments, the

interesting as I witnessed them, first hand. The first concert I attended was performed by the Dallas

the Romantic era. The orchestra was a large ensemble (1) containing various instruments that
contributed to the overall sound of the piece. Since the orchestra was a large ensemble, just like the

All of the members of the orchestra seemed to be attentive to the conductor, which is important
because every member of the orchestra needs to be aware of what is going to happen next in the
music. The brass and the string had sections in the music, where they were the most important parts.
Overall, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra performed well as a whole group. The second concert I
attended was performed by the Richardson Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra performed Passacaglia
and Fugue in C minor, BWV 582 by Bach, which is part of the Baroque era. The string instruments of
the orchestra performed with the hair of the bow, in other words, arco (7). By using lots of motion or
most commonly known as mosso (8), the orchestra increased the tension of the piece. The orchestra
played at a pretty fast tempo (9), probably allegro. The piece had a distinct part where the harp played.
The ensemble was large, in order to attain the full sound of the piece. The instruments played in the
orchestra did not comply with the typical orchestras of the Baroque era because it did not have a
distinct part where were the main instruments were the piano and the bass, or more commonly known
as basso continuo (10). Along with the use of basso continuo, the orchestra used ornamentation by
adding grace notes (11) throughout the piece. The Baroque era also included the doctrine of affections
(12), in which the Richardson Symphony Orchestra demonstrated by playing faster

Essay On Firewall Security
FIREWALL SECURITY This reports looks at what a firewall is, and how it works. It also looks at
what security risks can be stopped by a firewall in a computer system. Most people think that a
firewall is where all data traffic on the internet has to go through between networks, as shown in
Figure 1.1 [pic] What is a firewall? In network security, firewall is considered a first line of defense in
protecting private information. A firewall sits at the junction point, or gateway, between the two
networks, which are often a private network and a public network such as the Internet. (John V.
Harrison, Hal Berghel, 2004, A Protocol Layer Survey of Network Security). It is a system designed to

The purpose of the firewall is to monitor the connection state. It then decides whether to permit or
deny the data traffic. If the data passed is not matched to the state of conversation, or if the data is not
in the state table, then this data is dropped. This is called stateful inspection . Access authentication
provided by firewalls For authentication, firewalls use different types of mechanisms. 1 Firewalls use
usernames and passwords. When a connection receives authentication and authorisation once, then the
user is not asked this information again. 2 Certificates and public keys are also used for authorisation
and authentication. 3 Authentication can be handled through pre shared keys. These are better than
certificates as they are less complex and easier to implement. The time it takes to authenticate is the
same whether it is a certificate or a pre shared key. A pre shared host is issued with a predetermination
key which is used for authentication. There is only one problem with a pre shared key: that it rarely
changes. There are many organisations that use the same key to manage multiple remote hosts. This
could be a security threat for the organisation. If a host firewall is not successful in its authentication,
then the packet will be dropped. Role of a firewall as intercessor A firewall can act as an intercessor to
help with the communication process between two hosts. This process is known as Proxy and

Essay On Emergency Student Loans
Let s continue Student s Growth through Emergency Student Loans
An emergency is defined as an unexpected need that could not have been reasonably foreseen. In
today s tough financial climate, more and more students are facing difficulties with increasing cost of
tuition fees and living expenses. Sometimes student s ability to pay can change drastically. For
example a parent may get fired or suffer a pay cut. As a result, many bright students are at risk of
having to quit their study due to financial crisis.
Emergency student loans are short term loans that are geared towards helping students cover education
related costs living expenses. The uncertain financial environment may cause sudden changes in the
costs of tuition or other expenses and emergency student loans are the best way to cover any
unexpected costs. These loans are processed almost instantly and are disbursed to students within a

Armed Conflict
Armed Conflict
Several similarities exist between the conflict incurred by European settlers with Native Americans in
the depictions of Inca, Garcilaso de la Vega s La Florida del Inca, and Gaspar Perez de Villagra s
Historia de la Nueva Mexico. Excerpts from both works can be found in the compendium edited by
Harold Augnebraum and Magartie Fernandez Olmos entitled The Latino Reader: Five Centuries of an
American Literary Tradition from Cabeza de Vaca to Oscar Hijuelos. In both narratives, the authors
chronicle Spaniards unlawful dispossession of territory that was previously inhabited by Native
Americans. Quite naturally, these natives resisted this early form of larceny, which oftentimes resulted
in an armed conflict between the two disparate groups. However, it is fairly apparent that both authors
viewed this conflict and the appropriation of the Native Americans land as largely religious matter,
which was justified by the sake of Christianity. The narratives are at variance predominantly in their
depiction of the natives during this conflict, however. Whereas de Villagra s depiction is decidedly
less concerned with these natives and their point of view, Vega frequently takes pains to portray the
humanity and dignity of the Native Americans encountered by the Spanish in Florida. The author s
proclivity to do so is exemplified by his description of the fate of Juan Ortiz, a Spaniard who was
captured by Native Americans in Florida. To illustrate the aggressive, hostile

Essay Bbby
BED BATH amp; BEYOND Suggested Study Questions 1. How would you characterize the business
risk of Bed Bath amp; Beyond? Review their financial performance. BBBY is special since they are
selling products that are produced by name brand companies, and if any products needing repair could
be sent directly back to the name brand company. Therefore, there are no switching costs for BBBY
since they have no control on the quality of the products they sell. However, there fixed operating
costs have been high and if management adds fixed operating costs to their business operations,
without an increase in sales, the firm s profit would decline and result in a loss, which is an indication
of relatively high business risk. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
BBBY will need to trade off business risk against financial risk. They operate in an industry with
fairly low business risk however BBBY s operating leverage is high which could indicate a higher
than industry business risk if they are not cognizant of managing their fixed costs. In addition, BBBY
s debt to total asset ratio is higher than their industry. Both of these indicate a high business and
financial risk. If BBBY were to recapitalize to 80% debt to total capital it would only increase their
financial risk and reduce shareholders earnings per share. Therefore the recommendation for a capital
structure for BBBY would be to add more than the 40% debt to total capital but not more than 80%. 2.
Do you think Bed Bath amp; Beyond has too much cash? Should Bed Bath amp; Beyond lever up?
Consider both the 40% and 80% debt to total capital proposals. BBBY has too much cash even though
it has used the cash for store growth and small acquisition. They should be focusing on using their
cash to increase shareholder value. If BBBY were to use $400 million in excess cash and $636.3
million in borrowed funds to repurchase it s shares they would increase their basic earnings per share
from 1.35 to 1.41 and their diluted earnings per share from 1.31 to 1.37. If BBBY were to use $400
million in excess cash, and borrow $1.27 billion to repurchase their shares, the increase of the basic
earnings per share would only be 0.3 while the difference from zero debt to

looses the power to Nicholas Nickleby and the children gain hope from Nicholas Nickleby. For
example administering a cut with the cane . This examines that Mr. Squeers has the power to do what
ever he wishes to the children. Mr. Squeers looses his power over the children at the end for example
beat the ruffian till he roared for mercy . This studies how Mr. Squeers is weakened by one man.
Nickleby also uses violence to gain power over Mr. Squeers Nickelby uses violence for the right
reason.
The character Nickleby is shown to be nice, mature and understanding. Nickleby stands up to Mr. and

Evil Atop the Mountain of Power in The Crucible by Arthur...
There is an understood social order and staying in one s place retains balance and order in a
community or even a country. The leaders at the top are recognized to be equipped with great minds,
worthy of the peoples trust, and strong enough to make the unpopular decisions. These substantial
men in all their glory sit atop a mountain out of reach to the common man. Never would we encounter
them misusing their power for personal gain or to act under the confines of tradition that no longer
serve society justly. In the crucible the Puritans of Salem trust their divinely appointed ministers to
sweep away the evil among them. The devout and loyal colonists wouldn t expect the guardian
ministers to become the very evil they were set upon crushing. In the case that the conductor stumbles
off their intended path this error may be caught when it is too late. The train is gaining speed
consuming more and more fuel and amassing raw power. One cannot stop the train to question its new
and controversial path. In Good Night and Good Luck nuclear warfare could become reality at any
moment. America s worst fear and most hated enemy is the communist. Junior senator McCarthy takes
this opportunity to be the gallant defender of The Union. Common sense says anyone engaging in
criticizing him must be a communist and an enemy of the state. Contrary to this type of defense logic

Critical Analysis of Alex de Tocqueville s Democracy in...
Irena Cosby
Analysis of Alexis de Tocqueville s Democracy in America Alexis de Tocqueville s visit to the United
States in 1831 prompted his work Democracy in America. This was supposed to be a chance for him
to take a look at the American prison system. However, it was obvious from his writing that he looked
at every aspect of American culture. In Democracy in America, he takes a look at how democracy
works and the pitfalls that could bring about the downfall of democracy. Throughout his travels he
noticed that private interest and personal gain motivated the actions of most Americans. He believed
this cultivated a new concept, the concept of individualism. He believed this individualism was one of
the greatest threats to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also looked at the industrialization of America and how it fit into this new concept. He noticed that
employees of factories learned how to do one thing. While they may perfect that one skill, they began
to lose creativity and imagination. They also lost the desire to move up in society. They became
comfortable and content with their task, and every day became just like the one before it. Owners of
factories, on the other hand, held all the power. They could get richer or even lose their wealth.
However, it didn t matter how many different people were in management positions, they all had two
things in common...power and wealth. De Tocqueville believed this would create a large population of
people who relied on the few creative thinkers left to take care of them. While there was an equality of
the masses, there was still a much smaller group of people that held all the power. Given that despots
have every interest in keeping people isolated, the individualism resulting from equality makes
despotism a great threat to equality. Exercising freedom through participation in public affairs is
therefore extremely vital because it gives people a personal interest in thinking about others in society.
Local self governments are important because they draw people together, and it is, therefore, more
likely that they will exercise their liberty. De Tocqueville believed that when

economía y a ellas mismas.

Maya Lin Vietnam Veteran Memorial Analysis
When one listens to Anne Wagner telling history about the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Creation that
Maya Lin created and designed, it assist one in appreciating and understanding her work. This is
because Maya Lin used natural material as well as recyclable substances to address environmental
issues that people could easily recognize. As an artist, environmentalist as well as sculptor, she carved
haunting and beautiful imagery to represent the results of environment destruction. Maya Lin won
Vietnam veterans memorial competition since she created a wound on the earth to account for the loss
of soldiers as well as the gravity of the war in Vietnam but unfortunately the design became
controversial. I understand that Maya Lin defended the design and finished and as a result, it the most
appreciated and visited memorial. I appreciate her effort to defend her design from prominent
Politicians and businessmen harassment to have the memorial set up. I trust that her choice to

The Death Of Trotsky By David Ives
Violence has been a part of plays for centuries. It keeps the play interesting and intriguing, but
however, most of the time there is a greater purpose of violence. When looking for it in plays one
would automatically look for weapons or signs of physically harming someone like. However,
verbiage can be an act of violence as well. The phrase, sticks and stones may break my bones, but
words will never hurt me is false. Your tongue has no bones, but is strong enough to hurt another
person. Like in the play The Stronger by August Strindberg where Miss Y is verbally insulted
countless of times. Whereas in the play Variations on the Death of Trotsky by David Ives one can see
the physical violence by the tragic murder that occurred. After distinguishing where the violence is
coming from one can then analyze the true role of the violence and compare how the violence affect
the dramas.
When looking at The Stronger you can see just how Miss Y in verbally insulted over and over again
by Mrs. X. While Miss Y is just sitting at a table by herself minding her own business when Mrs. X
shows up. During the entire play Miss Y does not say one word while Mrs. X insults her and says rude
things like, Poor Amelia, I pity you, nevertheless, because I knew you are unhappy, unhappy like one
who has been wounded, and angry because you are wounded. () She just assumes that she is unhappy
because she is in a café by herself on a holiday. She does not even ask her if she is unhappy or give

Pablo Picasso and Francisco José de Goya were two artists that lived in completely different time
periods and painted in very different styles. Goya painted frescos and court paintings while picasso
dabbled in cubism and surrealism. However, like most artists, they both went through many changes
and transitions throughout their lives as painters, and their desire to think outside the box and
experiment with techniques that had never been used before reveal similarities in their work that may

Not only were they both considered modern artists, their work also took a rather unexpected turn
towards the end of their careers. Goya is considered the father of modern art. He took risks in his
paintings and decided not to paint in the classical style of the old masters from earlier centuries, and
Picasso also took many risks and painted in a very modern style. Picasso was even inspired by Goya s
work, and his painting, Massacre in Korea, was inspired by Goya s The Third of May. Not only did
they both experiment in their paintings, these artists also both went through a rough period in their
lives that had a big effect in their style of painting. Picasso s blue period reflected his sadness after his
friend s death, and all of his paintings during this time used blue and other muted colors. Goya s black
paintings, a series of fourteen pieces from his last years of life, also reflected a negative change in his
life. These paintings were much darker and more depressing than his older paintings. The disturbing
images in these paintings are thought to have been evoked from his fear of insanity and bleak outlook

Invasive Mycoses Research Paper
Invasive Mycoses
Fungi have emerged over the past several decades as major contributors to human disease.(1, 2) As
populations of immunocompromised and/or hospitalized patients continue to increase, so will the
incidence of invasive fungal infections. A recent study reported that fungemia in the United States
increased by 207% between 1979 and 2000.(3) Moreover, as the populations at risk for fungal
infection continue to expand, so will the spectrum of pathogens capable of infecting those individuals.
Invasive mycoses may be categorized as i) opportunistic or ii) endemic. Endemic infections, which are
generally confined to specific geographic regions, are most often acquired via inhalation of spores.
Infective agents include, but are not limited to, Histoplasma capulsatum, Coccidioides immitis, and
Blastomyces dermatitidis. These infections frequently mimic common pulmonary infections in initial
stages and are therefore often misdiagnosed. Dissemination and advanced disease follow. Dormancy
may also occur, with reactivation of infection years later. This leads to diagnosis in a geographic
regions outside of the high risk area.(4, 5)

The Development And Growth Of A Child Into Their Adult Years
Throughout the decades, there have been many theorists that have contributed their ideas and
proposals, in regards to what they believe affects the development and growth of a child into their
adult years. Three of these successful theorists include: Erik Erikson, Daniel Levinson, and George
Herbert Mead. They each studied the developmental stages throughout one s life in their own
perspectives, each proposing a new and revised theory.
Born in 1902, Erik Erikson was a psychologist best known for his study and theory of psychosocial
development and the concept of the identity crisis. He has published a number of books on his theories
and research, including Childhood and Society, The Life Cycle Completed, and Gandhi s Truth. As a

Mistrust . Therefore, depending on how the child is raised and treated throughout this stage,
determines whether the child learns to trust the world and his surroundings to fulfill his needs. Erikson
believed that although there are different challenges the individual must successfully master at each
stage, these issues overlap with the issues of another level. This is because how one deals with the
earlier challenges determines how one will resolve later challenges, as there is a connection between
present patterns of thinking and feeling, and the earlier unresolved and/or resolved development
issues. Going back to the example with the child, if he/she does not learn to trust in this stage, then
trust will remain an unresolved issue throughout the subsequent stages of development.
Erikson s theory is extremely important and significant in terms of understanding the growth and
development of an individual. His theory helps to explain the levels of conflict that every individual
must undergo, and the possibilities that may arise if the individual in unsuccessful and does not
overcome the challenges that he/she is faced with. As stated in the example above, if the child did not
learn to trust in the first stage, it will affect him in all the following stages, as he/she will continue to
have a lack of trust in the world. Erikson s theory helps us to understand why some people lack certain
feelings or emotions, as we can now recognize that the

Violence In Plato s The Republic
When crafting a persuasive argument, normally one would avoid images of violence and coercion as a
rhetorical technique. However, in many ancient text violence was not only a common norm, but it was
also an expected one as well. The connection between violence and persuasion or, in the case of
religion and philosophy, conversion is fairly well defined. Yet there is still some ambiguity over how
much violence to use in describing the process of conversion and, perhaps more importantly, how it is
framed in relation to the message that the speaker wishes his audience receive. In Plato s The

Whereas Paul uses violence to create a narrative of shared community forged through suffering Plato s
allegory consists of the journey of one man; a journey that he not only did not wish to take, but one
that has ultimately left him isolated from his friends and former life. Although Plato claims that the
joy of realizing the ideal forms themselves is the true state of happiness, his logic of why the man
should then be forced to confront his former life is rather inadequate. Plato claims that it is this man s
duty to try to bring the others into the heightened state, despite that it is most likely to be a vain
endeavor: While his vision was still dim, if he had to compete again with the perpetual prisoners in
recognizing the shadows, wouldn t he invite ridicule? Wouldn t it be said of him that he d returned
from his upward journey with his eyesight ruined and that it isn t worthwhile even to try to travel
upward? And, as for anyone who tried to free them and lead them upward, if they could somehow get
their hands on him, wouldn t they kill him? (The Republic, 189). Not only is the man unable to enjoy
his former comforts, but he has also become a social pariah; his former friends and acquaintances wish

Existentialism and Albert Camus The Plague Essay
Existentialism and The Plague
In the mid 1940s, a man by the name of Albert Camus began to write a story. This story he called La
Pesté. Written in French, the novel became extremely popular and has since been translated numerous
times into many languages. This story has been read over and over, yet it tells more than it seems to.
This story tells the tale of a city gripped by a deadly disease. This is true enough, but this is not what
the novel is about. The Plague can be read as an allegory of World War II, of the French Resistance
against German Occupation. To simplify things, one can say that The Plague is an allegorical novel
(Picon 146). This however, is indeed an oversimplification, and so this only tells part of the ... Show

For Camus, on the other hand, a man s acts could reveal an intrinsic integrity or dignity which were
always there but which had laid dormant and unasserted until he was made to face the absurdity of his
mortal condition in an immortal universe
(Masters 107).
Key to understanding this is that the integrity is unasserted. Camus believed that man was more than
just a shell to begin with, that there is some basic worth to a man. Within each man Camus believed
that there is a spark of goodness which only he himself could fan into a flame.
While man may have innate goodness, what Camus saw in the world more often was indifference,
inaction. Mankind failed to act on this goodness. Camus addresses this indifference in The Plague.
Camus wrote this novel during a tumultuous time in history, World War II. Even before the war had
begun, Camus saw this indifference. Camus watched as the nations of Western Europe sat idly by as
Hitler s Germany seized lands, building his Reich. These lands believed they could ignore the
problems Hitler was causing; they believed they could appease Hitler and leave it at that. Suddenly,
France had fallen under German control and England was at the mercy of German bombers. These
events helped to prompt Camus into writing The Plague. The war which Camus witnessed was

Mono Lake Case Study
Jesse Lawler GEOL 4220 LAB #1 Water Budget for Mono Lake, California 1. The water budget for a
closed basin such as Mono lake can be generally described as: (rainfall + stream runoff + groundwater
flow) (evaporation + usage). Since it is difficult or impossible to accurately measure, groundwater
flow can be expressed as equal to the difference between the actual measured storage of the lake and
the calculated storage using: groundwater flow=actual measured storage ((rainfall + stream runoff)
(evaporation + usage)). The largest contributor to the system is stream discharge since it is rainfall
collected over a much larger area than the lake itself. This runoff is by far the largest contributor to the
system. Groundwater flow is the second

Nacirema Paper
It has been rumored that are extraordinary beings on another familiar planet close by our home of
Nacirema, and it is our goal as the Interplanetary Nacirema Research Center team to investigate the
situation. We plan to focus our trip on the specific coordinates that the University of Connecticut
campus lies on, and being the curious creatures we are, we plan to delve into specific areas within this
concentrated area. We will be studying the way both males and females conduct their everyday lives
in terms of living, learning and communicating. Through our research, we plan to lighten up the
mysteries about this foreign species and enable ourselves to communicate ... Show more content on

On the other hand, the females seem to go to the gym just for the purpose of running and losing
weight. It appears that the females mindset is that it doesn t matter how skinny they are, they still think
they need to lose weight. Our studies of this strange setting yielded more important information
concerning the behavior of the humans and hopefully will lead to more effective studies in the future.
Based on these observations, it is evident that we are not on our own planet of Nacirema and the
beings of this planet are not like us at all. However, much has been learned from our trip here about
the personalities and motives of these residents. Nonetheless, I believe that based on our findings we
will not be making a trip back here until we have prepared ourselves enough in the ways of their

Baseball Essay examples
Baseball is a game of skill that is played with a hard ball and a bat between two teams of nine players
each at a time on the playing field at once. Although many different people play Baseball all over the
world it is most popular in the United States. It is so popular in fact, it is referred to as the national
pastime of the United States because of the tradition and popularity associated with the game.
Baseball consists of many complicated rules. It also has a very elaborate history. One can not fully
understand the game America has grown to love until learning about not only the rules but also the
history. HISTORY A popular legend of the history of baseball claims that Abner Doubleday, who was

In each half of an inning one team bats while the other plays the field. If the score is tied after nine
innings are over then the game is continued into extra innings and is concluded when one team is
winning after an extra inning. These are the basic rules of baseball. THE FIELD AND EQUIPMENT
Baseball is played on a field, which usually covers about two acres. The field is divided into an infield
and an outfield. These two parts are considered fair territory and the rest of the field is considered foul.
The infield is in the shape of a diamond and is 90 ft on each side. One point of the diamond is home
plate which batters hit from. The other three points are bases: first, second, and third base. In the
middle of the diamond is a pitchers mound which is slightly raised off the ground. The edges of the
diamond from home plate to first base and home plate to third base are the foul lines, which extend all
the way to the wall in the outfield. Behind first base is right field, behind second base is called center
field, and behind third base is called left field. Fences are placed at the farthest limits in the outfield.
In foul territory beyond the foul lines in the infield are dugouts where players sit when they are not
playing or waiting to bat. Baseball also consists of many pieces of equipment. Baseball equipment
includes the following: a hard ball which has a cork center and has a circumference of 9 in., a bat
made out of wood or

Child support orders usually follows divorce. The court mostly determines what the payments will be
based off of the income of the non custodial parent. If the non custodial parent fails to pay they can be
subject to fines as well as jail time. Most of the time you probably see many fathers being put on child
s support. However it s not uncommon for a mother of children to be put on child support. It can be
very emotional and upsetting to parents who do a lot for their kids such as getting school clothes,
seeing them often, and being a part of the child s life and needs. However, they still have to pay child
support to a parent that doesn t use the child support money for the child. I believe child support is

  • 2. Compare And Contrast The United States Vs The Congo United States Versus the Congo Do you ever think about how lucky you are? You should. You live in one of many countries that cares for its citizens. Living in America you have opportunities that other countries will never have. For example, there are many third world countries that struggle daily to keep multiple citizens alive. These citizens have to fight for their lives and sometimes never get any form of medical help. Whereas in America we have many different resources that allow us to be a strong world power, if we lost citizens by the hundreds weekly we would be a country in need. Many countries in Africa are considered third world countries because they are overpopulated and under developed. The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), located in Central Africa, struggles daily because the government fails. The country has been in civil conflicts for nearly a decade, this however is not the main health hazard. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Congo was a popular location for slave trade, while foreign powers intruded they also exposed the area to their diseases that have remained for centuries. The medical organizations in both the United States and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, are spreading awareness for the need of vaccinations. The two have been friends since the age of nine, and have continued their friendship till maturity and after matriculation. The novel demonstrates a relationship of two boys who began their relationship on a wrong footing. The relationship began after an unpleasant episode where they were bullying each other. After the parents intervention the relationship grew tighter. In different stages of the novel Sizwe struggles with issues of his own identity and approval. This essay will discuss this key theme of the novel and further indicate how the novel elaborates on this theme. That did not sit well with him. In one instance, Sizwe is quoted as saying why do I always come after Thulani (94), he feels an identity approval crisis and does not know what more to do. The layers of the chopped onions are not getting any better for him. The more you think you are winning, the deeper into layers you get. Sizwe s problem was his uncertainty about who he is. • 4. Romanticism As A Source Of Spirituality Classification Romanticism is a time period in history based on a cultural revolution. It is defined differently based on geographical location, however it overall incorporates the same common principles: (1) imagination, (2) individuality, (3) nature as a source of spirituality, (4) looking to the past for wisdom, and (5) seeing the common man as a hero. These common principles are what inspired writers and artists of the time to fabricate ideas. This is how the period got named romanticism for the term romantic, [was] long synonymous with false, fictitious and unnatural (Courthion, 1961, p. 7). Defining the movement is what overtime pulled the art community away from the previous baroque era. By the late 1700s romance thus had come to refer broadly to any work that could be distinguished from works principally realistic in form and subject matter (Davey, 2006). Against the common misconception, the Romantic Movement was not considered to be strongly influenced by love. Instead the historically been associated with narratives of adventure, romance, and myth as opposed to realistic stories or portrayals of history, politics, or everyday life (Romanticism, 2014). The Beginning Historians associate the Romantic Movement as coming out of Europe as [it was a] reaction to Napoleonic era conservatism and the political norms and the rationalization of nature associated with Enlightenment (Romanticism, 2014). The focus on romantic literature commenced in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Professor Mairs finds humor through self deprecation even though she is sick. Professor Mairs wrote, [a]lmost every pickle that I get into as a result of my weakness and clumsiness and I get into plenty is funny as well as maddening and sometimes painful (Mairs, 259). The author is teaching the reader that having a good sense of humor makes a bad situation bearable, even a painful one. There are many forms of humor that are shown to be Mairs way of relieving the frustration that comes with being crippled, when she gives an account of her falling in a restroom at work due the disease s effect on her body, and she laughs at herself. Symptoms And Treatment Of Schizophrenia Essay Diagnosing psychological disorders has become more prevalent in our society because more people are willing to seek help regardless of the stigma that comes with having a label. This paper will go in depth on the psychotic disorder called Schizophrenia. Like the majority of psychological disorders, we will discuss how a patient is determined to have a mental disorder based on the three criteria based on distress, impairment, and risk of harm. The neuropsychosocial factors that play a crucial role in the development of schizophrenia will be addressed. The causes of schizophrenia include frontal lobe defect, overproduction of dopamine, and genetics which due to a certain degree of stress a person experiences can trigger any of the neuropsychosocial factors making them vulnerable to developing the disorder. We will also look at the kind of symptoms a schizophrenic patient possesses and the therapeutic or medical treatments that they receive in order to achieve a relief of these symptoms. This research paper is meant to provide possible directions for future research on the causes of schizophrenia which is still not entirely known and what treatment would be more effective than medication to provide relief of symptoms since the disorder is incurable. • 9. Social Media Reflection Social media is a medium in which people post about whatever they deem necessary. According to Sherry Turkle s book Alone Together, a vast majority of teens also use it to create a name for themselves and to pretend to be someone else; someone they want to be. However, in analyzing my social media, it was very difficult to find any trace of what kind of character I was attempting to portray. One similarity that I can see between Turkle s analysis of social media and my personal account is that my account does portray a type of person that I aspire to be. Online, I am in some unconscious way making a name for myself, but the problem arises when there are no differences between my social media self and my real self. Online I portray myself as a chill, relaxed person and my Facebook reflects that very well. I am not here to impress anybody and I do not share anything for any other reason besides the fact that I enjoyed that thing. I post when I feel I need to yet looking deeper into my likes and shares there are some small, significant patterns between what I like and how it affects my image. Analyzing my social media account, I found that I generally use a calm, realistic tone to give the impression that I am a real relaxed, dust in the wind kind of guy. • 10. Summary Of Harm De Blij s Why Geography Matters Harm de Blij s book, Why Geography Matters poses a central theme, which I have heard discussed multiple times. Blij argues that the American public is the most geographically illiterate society in the world. Blij blames this decline with the poorly formulated curricula in the American school systems, which ultimately originates from Washington D.C. and the people that run this country. If I had never seen this central theme in action in a classroom I would have been dumbfounded. In one short paragraph Blij summarized how America s illiteracy began, which this then becomes the central theme of his book that relates to the educational field. As every day passes China grows stronger in every aspect and eventually they will be knocking on America s doorstep in each of those categories. Economically, China is closing rapidly, but even the sleeping giant as Napoleon Bonaparte called it, has its limits. To be blunt, China is resource hungry and who knows what their country will do next. With the level of nationalism that their people have, China could go in multiple directions. For example, let us look at both China attempting to exert control over the South China Sea and also with the Senkaku Islands. Both of these areas are becoming more and more hostile, which ultimately could lead to deadly military engagements. With that being said, Blij also proposes an argument that I have been pondering for a while and that is a potential cold war between the U.S.A. and China. On the outside it seems as if there is a potential collision course to that conclusion. However, Blij does offer an interesting solution to this possibility and it is one that I believe should be the strongest takeaway. Blij suggests that trade, scientific, cultural and educational links and exchanges can be the solution to this issue. After all, China is responsible for many of the essential aspects to our life. Therefore, the least we as Americans can do is learn the various geographical aspects that encircle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It also looks at what security risks can be stopped by a firewall in a computer system. Most people think that a firewall is where all data traffic on the internet has to go through between networks, as shown in Figure 1.1 [pic] What is a firewall? In network security, firewall is considered a first line of defense in protecting private information. A firewall sits at the junction point, or gateway, between the two networks, which are often a private network and a public network such as the Internet. (John V. Access authentication provided by firewalls For authentication, firewalls use different types of mechanisms. 1 Firewalls use usernames and passwords. When a connection receives authentication and authorisation once, then the user is not asked this information again. 2 Certificates and public keys are also used for authorisation and authentication. 3 Authentication can be handled through pre shared keys. These are better than certificates as they are less complex and easier to implement. The time it takes to authenticate is the same whether it is a certificate or a pre shared key. A pre shared host is issued with a predetermination key which is used for authentication. There is only one problem with a pre shared key: that it rarely changes. There are many organisations that use the same key to manage multiple remote hosts. This could be a security threat for the organisation. Armed Conflict Armed Conflict Several similarities exist between the conflict incurred by European settlers with Native Americans in the depictions of Inca, Garcilaso de la Vega s La Florida del Inca, and Gaspar Perez de Villagra s Historia de la Nueva Mexico. Excerpts from both works can be found in the compendium edited by Harold Augnebraum and Magartie Fernandez Olmos entitled The Latino Reader: Five Centuries of an American Literary Tradition from Cabeza de Vaca to Oscar Hijuelos. In both narratives, the authors chronicle Spaniards unlawful dispossession of territory that was previously inhabited by Native Americans. Quite naturally, these natives resisted this early form of larceny, which oftentimes resulted in an armed conflict between the two disparate groups. However, it is fairly apparent that both authors viewed this conflict and the appropriation of the Native Americans land as largely religious matter, which was justified by the sake of Christianity. The narratives are at variance predominantly in their depiction of the natives during this conflict, however. Whereas de Villagra s depiction is decidedly less concerned with these natives and their point of view, Vega frequently takes pains to portray the humanity and dignity of the Native Americans encountered by the Spanish in Florida. The author s proclivity to do so is exemplified by his description of the fate of Juan Ortiz, a Spaniard who was captured by Native Americans in Florida. To illustrate the aggressive, hostile ... Like in the play The Stronger by August Strindberg where Miss Y is verbally insulted countless of times. Whereas in the play Variations on the Death of Trotsky by David Ives one can see the physical violence by the tragic murder that occurred. After distinguishing where the violence is coming from one can then analyze the true role of the violence and compare how the violence affect the dramas. When looking at The Stronger you can see just how Miss Y in verbally insulted over and over again by Mrs. X. While Miss Y is just sitting at a table by herself minding her own business when Mrs. X shows up. During the entire play Miss Y does not say one word while Mrs. X insults her and says rude things like, Poor Amelia, I pity you, nevertheless, because I knew you are unhappy, unhappy like one who has been wounded, and angry because you are wounded. () She just assumes that she is unhappy because she is in a café by herself on a holiday. She does not even ask her if she is unhappy or give her time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Goya painted frescos and court paintings while picasso dabbled in cubism and surrealism. However, like most artists, they both went through many changes and transitions throughout their lives as painters, and their desire to think outside the box and experiment with techniques that had never been used before reveal similarities in their work that may go unnoticed at first glance. Not only were they both considered modern artists, their work also took a rather unexpected turn towards the end of their careers. Goya is considered the father of modern art. He took risks in his paintings and decided not to paint in the classical style of the old masters from earlier centuries, and Picasso also took many risks and painted in a very modern style. Picasso was even inspired by Goya s work, and his painting, Massacre in Korea, was inspired by Goya s The Third of May. Not only did they both experiment in their paintings, these artists also both went through a rough period in their lives that had a big effect in their style of painting. Picasso s blue period reflected his sadness after his friend s death, and all of his paintings during this time used blue and other muted colors. Goya s black paintings, a series of fourteen pieces from his last years of life, also reflected a negative change in his life. These paintings were much darker and more depressing than his older paintings. • 32. Invasive Mycoses Research Paper Invasive Mycoses Fungi have emerged over the past several decades as major contributors to human disease.(1, 2) As populations of immunocompromised and/or hospitalized patients continue to increase, so will the incidence of invasive fungal infections. A recent study reported that fungemia in the United States increased by 207% between 1979 and 2000.(3) Moreover, as the populations at risk for fungal infection continue to expand, so will the spectrum of pathogens capable of infecting those individuals. Invasive mycoses may be categorized as i) opportunistic or ii) endemic. Endemic infections, which are generally confined to specific geographic regions, are most often acquired via inhalation of spores. Infective agents include, but are not limited to, Histoplasma capulsatum, Coccidioides immitis, and Blastomyces dermatitidis. These infections frequently mimic common pulmonary infections in initial stages and are therefore often misdiagnosed. Dissemination and advanced disease follow. Dormancy may also occur, with reactivation of infection years later. This leads to diagnosis in a geographic regions outside of the high risk area.(4, 5) Opportunistic ... The Development And Growth Of A Child Into Their Adult Years Throughout the decades, there have been many theorists that have contributed their ideas and proposals, in regards to what they believe affects the development and growth of a child into their adult years. Three of these successful theorists include: Erik Erikson, Daniel Levinson, and George Herbert Mead. They each studied the developmental stages throughout one s life in their own perspectives, each proposing a new and revised theory. Born in 1902, Erik Erikson was a psychologist best known for his study and theory of psychosocial development and the concept of the identity crisis. Therefore, depending on how the child is raised and treated throughout this stage, determines whether the child learns to trust the world and his surroundings to fulfill his needs. Erikson believed that although there are different challenges the individual must successfully master at each stage, these issues overlap with the issues of another level. This is because how one deals with the earlier challenges determines how one will resolve later challenges, as there is a connection between present patterns of thinking and feeling, and the earlier unresolved and/or resolved development issues. Going back to the example with the child, if he/she does not learn to trust in this stage, then trust will remain an unresolved issue throughout the subsequent stages of development. Erikson s theory is extremely important and significant in terms of understanding the growth and development of an individual. His theory helps to explain the levels of conflict that every individual must undergo, and the possibilities that may arise if the individual in unsuccessful and does not overcome the challenges that he/she is faced with. As stated in the example above, if the child did not learn to trust in the first stage, it will affect him in all the following stages, as he/she will continue to have a lack of trust in the world. However, in many ancient text violence was not only a common norm, but it was also an expected one as well. The connection between violence and persuasion or, in the case of religion and philosophy, conversion is fairly well defined. Yet there is still some ambiguity over how much violence to use in describing the process of conversion and, perhaps more importantly, how it is framed in relation to the message that the speaker wishes his audience receive. Whereas Paul uses violence to create a narrative of shared community forged through suffering Plato s allegory consists of the journey of one man; a journey that he not only did not wish to take, but one that has ultimately left him isolated from his friends and former life. Although Plato claims that the joy of realizing the ideal forms themselves is the true state of happiness, his logic of why the man should then be forced to confront his former life is rather inadequate. Plato claims that it is this man s duty to try to bring the others into the heightened state, despite that it is most likely to be a vain endeavor: While his vision was still dim, if he had to compete again with the perpetual prisoners in recognizing the shadows, wouldn t he invite ridicule? Wouldn t it be said of him that he d returned from his upward journey with his eyesight ruined and that it isn t worthwhile even to try to travel upward? And, as for anyone who tried to free them and lead them upward, if they could somehow get their hands on him, wouldn t they kill him? (The Republic, 189). Written in French, the novel became extremely popular and has since been translated numerous times into many languages. This story has been read over and over, yet it tells more than it seems to. This story tells the tale of a city gripped by a deadly disease. This is true enough, but this is not what the novel is about. The Plague can be read as an allegory of World War II, of the French Resistance against German Occupation. To simplify things, one can say that The Plague is an allegorical novel (Picon 146). For Camus, on the other hand, a man s acts could reveal an intrinsic integrity or dignity which were always there but which had laid dormant and unasserted until he was made to face the absurdity of his mortal condition in an immortal universe (Masters 107). Key to understanding this is that the integrity is unasserted. Camus believed that man was more than just a shell to begin with, that there is some basic worth to a man. Within each man Camus believed that there is a spark of goodness which only he himself could fan into a flame. While man may have innate goodness, what Camus saw in the world more often was indifference, inaction. Mankind failed to act on this goodness. Camus addresses this indifference in The Plague. Camus wrote this novel during a tumultuous time in history, World War II. Even before the war had begun, Camus saw this indifference. Camus watched as the nations of Western Europe sat idly by as Hitler s Germany seized lands, building his Reich. These lands believed they could ignore the problems Hitler was causing; they believed they could appease Hitler and leave it at that. Suddenly, France had fallen under German control and England was at the mercy of German bombers. These events helped to prompt Camus into writing The Plague. The war which Camus witnessed was transformed into the guise of a deadly disease. However, Camus does not merely attack the events of one war, nor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
