NETWORK FILE SYSTEM! !
Network File System was designed so that users could transparently and remotely access files on the
network in the same way as if the file was on the local disk. It can be easily ported to various
operating systems and architectures. Description of protocols in machines and systems is done in an
independent manner in NFS using the External Data Representation. Implementation of NFS takes
place on top of RPC so that implementation and maintenance of protocols is done in a simplified way.

SCSI (Internet Small Computer System Interface)! ! iSCSI is a transport layer protocol. How SCSI
packets are transported over a TCP/IP network is decided by this protocol. This protocol can be used
to send data over various area networks like

transmits block level data between a iSCSI server and a iSCSI client located in a storage device. The
iSCSI protocol provides encapsulation to SCSI commands and rearranged packet to the TCP/IP layer.
These encapsulated packets are then sent over the internet on a P2P connection.
When these packets arrive at the destination, the protocol strips down the extra headers in such a way
that the SCSI commands are seen by the operating system as a local SCSI device that can be formatted
as usual. ! ! iSCSI is popular in small and medium businesses because of the way server

Analysis Of The Interview Process And My Partner Paul
Cultures are different all across the world, and it s important to be able to learn about and understand
other cultures to help us shape our anthropological insights. With the help of the CBL project and my
partner Paul, I was able to interview Victor. The interview process started off awkwardly as there was
a setup error and we didn t quite know where to start. Victor is a man originally from El Salvador that
was now residing in St. Peter Minnesota. The interviews took place at the St. Peter community center,
where we were around other immigrants who had come to America. Some were of somalin descent,
while others were from Central America. We sat down and talked for around 45 minutes two times,
and the last time we met for dinner with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We first established where Victor was from and he told us he was from San Sable, El Salvador. I then
asked him some interesting features of his hometown. He told us that there are many places to eat and
to walk around. He also said that his hometown is 20 minutes from the beach. He also said that they
have the typical stores that we have here in America. Fun was commandingly spent at the beach, and
fun seemed to revolve around going to the beach. This is slightly different than where I m from, where
we don t have a beach. We instead do things outdoors like fishing, sports, and bonfires.
Our next question was about differences in America compared to El Salvador. The main difference
seemed to be around food. Victor said that they usually eat there same cultural foods, which consisted
of open tortillas stuffed with meats and beans, and fried plantae. Dinner time in El Salvador is
typically around 7pm. Meals are also supper dominant. Breakfasts and lunch are usually smaller,
while supper are usually larger.
Victor also shared with us that he lived in New York when he first came to the United States. He made
three trips there. When compared to St. Peter, Victor told us that he liked the quietness more of St.
Peter, than the busyness of New York. I was surprised, because I feel like New York is a commonly
portrayed American city, while St. Peter isn t.
Another big difference we discussed was

The Correlation Between Influencing Organization Culture...
The correlation between influencing organization culture and leaderships go hand and hand.
Organizational culture refers to the beliefs and values that exist in an organization and to the beliefs of
the staff and the foreseen value of their work that will influence their work ethic. Schein (1992, 2004)
defines the culture of a group or organization as shared assumptions and beliefs about the world and
their place in it, the nature of time and space, human nature, and human relationships. (pg. 326) On the
other hand, leadership provides the vision and helps the organization move in the direction to
accomplish the best or the organization and the employees. It is important to understand the
relationship between organizational culture and leadership and how they influence each other. Yukl
states that by changing the culture of an organization, top management can indirectly influence the
motivation and behavior of organization members. Research on organizational culture provides further
insight into the dynamics of transformational leadership and the processes by which a leader s
charisma may become institutionalized. (pg. 326) In the article, it talks about four ways to influence
organizational culture Programs, Systems, Structures, and Cultural Forms.
Design of management systems and programs
Criteria for rewards and personnel decisions
Design of structure and facilities
Symbols, ritual, ceremonies, and stories.

T. S. Eliot s Rhapsody On A Windy Night
Everyone knows that life is not always easy and that there a myraid of sad situations that occur daily.
In the poem Rhapsody On a Windy Night by T. S Eliot, the speaker is trying to escape the day to day
issues by taking an all night walk, only to realize that the troubles of the day roll over into different,
but equally as troubling problems. T. S Eliot uses multiple different comparison tequniques such as
similes. It is midnight and the speaker is walking down the street describing the darkness. Than they
start to notice the street lamps: Every street lamp that I pass/Beats like a fatalistic drum ( 8 9).
Although street lamps do not ususally have a sound to them the writer is setting the mood for the
poem by using a simile that has words that combined give off an ominous feeling. By using the word
fatalistic the poem starts to take on a much more dark and creepy mood. The speaker is trying to show
that this is not going to be a positive experience that they are having with the nighttime and the events
that they will encounter. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the entire poem multiple objects take on human like qualities one of these again being the
lamp posts: The street lamp said, Regard that woman/Who hesitates toward you in the light of the
door (17 18). The speaker is not only struggling from the troubles of the day, but is also lonly because
he starts to make up that the street posts are speaking to them. The use of the personification here is
trying to communicate not only the speakers lonliness, but used to narrate some of the issues the
speaker is running into on the night life of the streets, such as

Analysis of the Movie Harold and Maude- A Cult Classic Essay
Harold and Maude is a cult classic from the 1970 s that defined film making today. The movie based
around a young man named Harold Chasen, and an old woman Maude. Harold seems to have a bizarre
psychological fascination with death. While Maude is also interested in death; she enjoys living as
well and has lived her life to the fullest. Both are brought together while attending funerals simply
because they enjoy them. Maude begins to influence and change Harold s perceptions and attitudes
about life. Harold and Maude are polar opposite, in age, but the time they spend together will help
Harold live his life better and more fulfillingly.
Before Harold meets Maude, he is a disturbed individual with no friends. Harold, who performs ...

LIVE! Maude shares many of these ideas and beliefs with Harold, teaching him to dance, play the
banjo, and just enjoy being alive, not dead.
Harold was unaware that when he met Maude, she had planed all along to end her life at the age of
eighty. She says several times throughout the movie, Did you know I ll be eighty on Saturday . Her
decision to commit suicide shows that Maude feels she has done her part in helping Harold be a
happier person and has succeeded in teaching him how to love and enjoy life, which are qualities he
did not possess prior to their meeting. She makes him understand this when, after he tells her he loves
her, she says, Go and love some more. After Maude s death, Harold drives his car over a cliff in
another attempt to make people believe he is dead again. Harold walks away playing his banjo and
dancing, things that Maude had taught him. By driving his car over the cliff to make people think he is
dead again makes Harold happy since he enjoys being dead, but the banjo and Harold s dancing are
symbols of the effects of his relationship with Maude. These signify that Harold has grown due to his
relationship with Maude and will use the advice that Maude has given him in order to live a more
fulfilling and enjoyable life.
Because this film is so influenced by it s time, it seems appropriate that the director used the music of
Cat Stevens. Cat Stevens music defined a generation, and Harold and Maude are no exception. Both

Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury
People of all ages suffer from the negative effects of long term exposure to technology. As technology
continues to evolve, the human brain struggles to keep up, and ultimately loses a multitude of once
valued abilities, such as the ability to focus, and deep intellectual thinking. People grow severely
attached to these new artificial intelligence, that they forget there are other real people whom they can
communicate with and share thoughts with. As Fahrenheit 451 has illustrated, our society has evolved
to interact with technology on a more personal level, change the way humans interact with one
another, shift the way political subjects are dealt with, and change what the roles of certain people in a
community are and how those communities function.
The society portrayed in Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, puts the near future into words for the
readers of today to visualize the harsh changes the world will suffer. The communities in the story
consist of ignorant, and hollow people. These people live their lives without ever truly living. The
technology surrounding them allows for no time to relax, think, and communicate personally with
others. A fireman named Guy Montag realizes what kind of society he lives in after taking time to
listen to his vibrant 17 year old neighbor, Clarisse McClellan, talk about a past as bright and optimistic
as her. Questions begin to unfold as he digests the information given to him by Clarisse. For one thing,
he questions to purpose of

Essay about Compare and Contrast Traditional and Modern...
Faouzi NOURI GIRONES CIT 071807 Compare and contrast traditional and modern families
Since the nineteenth century, in the western societies, family patterns changed under the forces of
industrialisation and urbanisation. Another factor which has been involved in those changes is the
growing intervention of the state, by legislative action, in the domestic affairs of the family. As a result
of these trends, the modern nuclear family has been substituted for the traditional extended family.
The increase of values such as individualism and egalitarism has influenced the patterns of ... Show

In addition, in the traditional families the mother usually bore the sole responsibility of the child
caring. Modern parents now share this responsibility together because of social and work constraints.
However, holidays which are not common in the traditional family, allow them to spend quality time
with their children. Moreover in many modern families the father becomes a house worker, to provide
for the needs of his children. As the statistics shown in the United Kingdom in 2001, 155 000 fathers
were stay home husbands. All in all, the emphasis on nurturing children can be seen in traditional and
modern families, alike.
Apart from the similarities mentioned above, traditional and modern families have several differences
in the areas of family size and gender roles.
One major difference between the traditional and modern family is the decrease in family size. The
traditional family tends to be extended with three or more generations in the same household because
it provides a strong union between its members. Another reason for a large household is that usually
farming was the principal economic activity of the family 1 members. In contrast, the modern family
household contains two generations, parents and dependants children. Unlike the traditional family the

Similes In Dulce Et Decorum Est
Wilfred Owen s poem Dulce et Decorum est shows how harsh and terrible war really was. Owen uses
language features such as similes, personification and strong adjectives to make the readers feel pity,
disbelief and disgust at the struggles these men went through during the war. Throughout the poem the
poet makes the reader feel disgust using violent imagery to show the harsh conditions that the soldiers
experienced, and how the war affected them. This is shown when an unlucky soldier is described
dying in a gas attack. His comrade sees him dying and describes it by saying ...under a green sea, I
saw him drowning, and his face was hanging like a devil s sick of sin . This shows that the soldier is
drowning in the gas and has lost control of his face and breathing. This simile disgusts the reader,
because we can imagine the soldier drowning in his own fluids while his friends can do nothing but
watch helplessly from afar. This helped me understand how scary war can be, as it can cause people to
die painfully and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This simile is an example of the imagery that is used very effectively throughout the poem. It helps the
reader to imagine and hear troops coughing and swearing as they trudged through the mud. We can
imagine the soldiers stumbling along, like knock kneed men that I think would be like old men
without canes; and coughing like hags with their croaky voices and rattly breaths. This quote also
helps me understand how hard it must be for the soldiers to keep on going because they must be
injured and tired, and physically weak like old men would

Behavioral Feeding And Eating Disorders
Introduction
Behavioral feeding and Eating Disorder in infants and children has a huge impact in our society. It has
a broad spectrum, ranking from mild issues that do not involve major health related threats
complications for severe issues, such as underfeeding and the need for enteral feeding. Because of a
high popularity and the prompt detection, effects, types, environmentally factors, and treatment
options of pediatric and non pediatric behavioral feeding and eating disorders can be prevented.
Definition
For better understanding of what behavioral feeding and Eating Disorders are, we must first have a
clear view and some knowledge of difference between organic and nonorganic etiologies1 Organic
etiologies are usually essential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prevalence
Feeding and eating disorders seem to spread throughout different types. For instance, the majority of
individuals with intellectual disabilities display behavioral feeding and eating disorder problems, and
proximately 70% of children who suffer from autism seem to have very selective eating habits3. 15%
of children that have Gastreophageal reflux have feeding disorders and can even have food refusal4.
Another interesting finding is that in 45% of children feeding disorder has been estimated to occur.
Because of a high percentage, it is recommended that speech language pathologists are fully aware.
Effects
When any person consumes an exaggerated amount of food, it may follow with bad consequences.
The effect may consist of weight loss, malnutrition, weariness, mental impairment, and even death
and/or physical development. It has been proven that malnutrition and dehydration can be caused by
dysfunctional parent child mealtime. In severe cases, the need of medical doctors is necessary and an
enteral feeding tube has to be placed via nasogastric or gastronomy.
Just because a feeding tube is placed into the person and there are improvements, medical procedures
by themselves do not treat the behavioral aspect of the disorder. Extended

Solution Focused Brief Therapy And Its Goals
This paper defines the Solution Focused Brief Therapy and its goals, strategies and techniques. This
approach focuses on individuals devising solution for problems rather than solving problems. Solution
building is a collaborative effort between therapy and client. SFBT concentrates on the clients
strengths and resources and belief that the therapist is not the expert but rather client is the expert.
SFBT was developed by Steve De Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg and their team at the Brief family
Therapy Center in Milwaukee doing the 1970 s. This approach is directed for immediate relief from a
problem using a range of techniques such as; the miracle questions, pretherapy change, exception
questions, summary feedback and scaling questions. The desire of this approach is for the therapist
and client to form a partnership in order to create personal meaningful goal that will guide the therapy
process in a short period of time. Attention is mainly given to affirm what the client is doing and what
the client and working that will lead to a better future. The central concept of SFBT is a movement
from talking about problems to talking about and creating solution. Therapy is kept simple and brief.

Papa Joffre Character Analysis
Papa Joffre, a name that connotes a rather lighter tone, and conveys a sense of compassion and
sympathy in one s conduct: qualities that sharply contrast the unpleasantries of war. His title is a
façade that overlooks his true achievements as French commander in chief during the first world war.
Joseph Joffre changed the outcome of the conflict due to his execution of the war plan, leadership in
the Battle of the Marne, and leadership in other offensives. He was a force to be reckoned with, a man
who dominated the field, and a man who drastically impacted the war. Joseph Joffre consistently
served with distinction, which led to his rise to power. While studying at Ecole polytechnique, a

His predisposition to heavy offensives also contributed to his downfall, because they were
unsuccessful...against the German lines . In addition, he removed most of the heavy guns from the
fortress of Verdun which led to a disaster at the battle of Verdun (Rickard). His resolve and resilience,
had in exchange been replaced with stubbornness, in his pursuit of his offenses. It demonstrated that
he had disregard for men, heartless, and sometimes even clueless which would lead one to speculate
how one was competent to lead. This style of leading led to bundles of dead man and overcrowded
hospitals (Stokesbury 59). It was callous, and heartless. In spite of his actions, the little guys took the
fall, and lost their posts . But, it was only a matter of time before it ate away at Joffre s fame.
Eventually, his unscrupulous actions led to his resignation as commander in chief, but he was
promoted away from the front line, created a Marshal of France . Despite the prestigious title, his final
years were performing symbolic duties and nothing in particular of substance. In the end, he is a figure
who is still the subject of much controversy to this day (Rickard).
He was not without flaws. He overstepped his boundaries, and as a result, his pitfall. Joseph Joffre was

Essay on Paying College Athletes
College sports are big money makers now a days. For most universities, the athletic department serves
as one of the main sources of cash flow. Athletes are used to create millions of dollars for the NCAA
and the schools that they participate in, and never receive a penny. If we are talking about profit, if all
bonds with the university were removed, an athletic department representing itself could compete with
some of the most successful companies. So, why does the most important parts of the machine, the
players, do not receive any money for their training and participation? The answer lies in the NCAA
which keeps all the money and their practice of keeping all the revenue for future use. College athletes

This leaves basically give no time to earn money. The way life is for a student athlete is very different
from what a regular student s life is. A student athlete is required to attend practice for 10 to 20 hours
per week which is around 4 hours a day, traveling to games everywhere throughout the season, and at
the same time, having to deal with the same amount of academic work as regular students. Everyone
who is against paying student athletes rely on the fact that they get paid through scholarships, so
apparently they re already getting paid. Yes, a scholarship indeed is a form of compensation. A
scholarship is good to have, but it is not enough to go through life as a student athlete. A scholarship
will not cover the bills. Not only that but, unlike regular students without athletics, student athletes
must also most of the time take care of their families and spouses. Believe it or not many student
athletes are married, and most of the athletes married have children. The students which don t have
spouses or children, most of them have to care for parents and siblings. Universities would not get
financially hurt if they would decide to pay players just a little. The average Division One School

Abortion Is A Issue Of Abortion
Abortion is a very touchy subject in our society. In the U.S. it is legal to abort a fetus up until the
twenty fourth week. An abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth, which results in the death
of an embryo or a fetus. Many people consider abortion as cruel as murder. Although some say
abortion is in there own hands and is there own decision, others believe that no one but God has the
right to take someone else s life. People that support abortion do not consider an unborn fetus a person
who must be protected under the law. Which makes an issue like abortion, difficult in determining if it
is right or wrong in someone s opinion. Supporters of abortion are also known to be Pro Choice .
Abortion has been around for thousands of years. The U.S. Supreme Court Case; Roe vs. Wade in
1973 has made abortion legal in America. A pregnant single woman(Roe) brought a class action
challenging the constitutionality of the Texas criminal abortion laws, which proscribe procuring or
attempting an abortion except on medical advice for the purpose of saving the mother s life.
(caselaw.findlaw.com). The ruling was that fetus are not legal people, so they have had no rights or
protection under our constitution. A woman has a right to make decisions that involve her own body.
The government has respected a woman s right to privacy. A woman s reproductive system should not
be the subject on the table with the government arguing about it. This reasoning was the premise for

Analysis Of Ben Jonson s Of An Age, But For All Time
Ben Jonson wrote Shakespeare was not of an age, but for all time, representing how 21st century ideas
and themes can be connected back to the time when 1 Henry IV was written. One contemporary issue
displayed in the play is a phenomenon known as helicopter parenting. According to Webster s
Dictionary, a helicopter parent is when a parent is very involved in a child s life. Parents will often put
expectations on their children to achieve certain dreams parents have of their kids. Thus, putting a
tremendous amount of anxiety and stress on their children. This idea is demonstrated throughout the
play between King Henry and Prince Hal. King Henry expects his son to act a certain way, to take his
role in the kingdom seriously and be focused on the kingdom and the duties he serves to the kingdom.
Looking at two examples from the text, one can identify the transformation of the test to 21st century
problem of parents pressuring kids to attend college or act a certain way. Throughout the play King
Henry would like his son, Prince Hal, to act a certain way. The King wants Prince Hal to act royal and
responsible, like Hotspur. Instead, Prince Hal decides to act out and represent immature behavior with
his sidekick Falstaff. King Henry states, See riot and dishonor stain the brow of my young Harry. O,
that it could be proved that some night tripping fairy had exchanged in cradle clothes our children
where they lay, and called mine Percy, his Plantagenet! (I, I, 87 89). The King

Cyclical Argument In Plato s Phaedo
In Plato s dialogue, the Phaedo, he gives a description of the immortality of the soul. He does this
through a series of arguments. His first argument, known as the Cyclical Argument, is that everything
comes to be from out of its opposite. The second argument, known as the Recollection Argument,
asserts that learning is essentially an act of recollecting things we knew before we were born but then
forgot. The third argument, known as the Affinity Argument, distinguishes between those things that
are immaterial, invisible, and immortal, and those things that are material, visible, and perishable. His
fourth argument, known as the Final Argument, is that the soul can be called the cause of life. I do not

One criticism of this argument is that death is contrary to life, but its contradictory opposite. It is
impossible for something to be both dead and alive, but it is possible for something to be neither dead
nor alive. Socrates also refers to being alive and being dead as opposites, but this pair is rather
different from comparative states such as larger and smaller, since something can t be deader, but only
dead. Being alive and being dead are what logicians call contraries. Some contemporary
commentators have maintained that the argument relies on covertly shifting between these different
kinds of opposites. Does the principle about balance, for instance, necessarily apply to living things?
Couldn t all life simply cease to exist at some point, without returning? How does Plato account for

The Glorious Mansa Musa Essay
Mansa Musa, the venerable emperor of Mali, famous throughout Africa, revered by his people, was a
true renaissance man. Why has history forgotten such a man when it has remembered Julius Caesar,

Mansa Musa had a vision of making Timbuktu the educational center of Africa. While on his hajj he

unlike European universities at the time had no central administration or required courses, instead
students focused on specific topics such as religious studies, law and literature(Khiar, Zulkifi).

An Investigation into Response to Disaster Using Qualitative Methods
Abstract
This study investigated the accounts of individuals involved in the London underground bombings in
2005. Throughout this investigation, thematic analysis was conducted on six eyewitness accounts,
highlighting their feelings and actions, which came about as a result of the incident. From these
accounts I obtained 4 key themes, which were consistent components of the six accounts. Evidently, I
found that the two most common themes were helping behaviour and the panic myth. This was rather
unexpected, as initially, I expected to find irrational and helpless behaviour, due to the panic and stress
of being trapped in a bombed underground. To conclude, the investigation illuminated the concept of
helping others before helping ones self. Thus, contradicting the concept of survival of the fittest, as in
this case the fittest were those who took it upon themselves to assist other passengers in need.
Therefore, highlighting the power of empathy which was risen with experiencing the disaster.
Introduction
Terrorist attacks are a consistent global occurrence. The 2005 London underground bombings was an
attack which caused largest mass fatality occurrence in the UK since World War 2. As a result the
comfort and use of public transport in the UK was greatly impacted. Research into the fatalities and
physical repercussions of tragedies are amplified globally. For instance it is considered factual that the

Why ShouldnT Tommy And Jim Have Sex John Corvino Analysis
John Corvino s article Why Shouldn t Tommy and Jim Have Sex? (Shafer Landau 209 222) is the
material I have chosen to review for my final analysis paper. Homosexuality has been something that
has plagued my generation with confusion and doubt. I grew up at the tail end of the AIDS (Acquired
Immune Deficiency Syndrome) epidemic and can remember when major news networks were
blaming homosexuals for the rapid spread of this particular disease. I have also seen the passing of
many pro gay rights acts and in many ways this was my generation s civil rights advancement for
future generations. This topic has been very controversial for many years and each generation has their
own personal view on the matter and I think Corvino did an excellent ... Show more content on

Like most couples Corvino assumes that they must engage in sexual activity for the same reason that
any heterosexual couple would that it is pleasurable. Sex can help unite a couple and open an avenue
of growth that would only help to strengthen the bond between two people.
One of the first major argument is that it is unnatural , Corvino easily dismisses this argument because
under that explanation nothing is normal not clothing, organized religion or governments. The only
thing that would be natural would be nature. In nature there are some species that do engage in
homosexual activity. So by this natural standard it could not be used to reject Tommy and Jim.
Another argument against homosexuals is that it is harmful to society through the spread of sexually
transmitted diseases (STD), by denying population growth and how it harms our youth. The first issue
is addressed by simple process of elimination if homosexual males are at the highest risk of getting an
STD and lesbian women at the lowest risk. Than Corvino is able to challenge the argument by
concluding that if you are only choosing a partner based on risk of disease than women should only be
with other women as the risk is the lowest. However most people do not chose a partner based on
these principles. As for the issue of not having sex for only procreation purposes is absurd. Even the
Catholic church prohibits sex during pregnancy and for pleasure

Interactive Slots are the future of Casino games
When you walk into a casino, the first thing to greet you upon your arrival is usually a bright and
shiny video lottery machine, better know as a slot machine. Slot machines are easy to play, and you
can play at your own pace without having to deal with other humans. They are comforting and simple,
leaving the user with an easy task of pushing a putting or pulling a lever. However, they hold a dirty
secret too. The worst odds of all the games you can play at a casino are those shiny slot machines,
with the house having an edge of 10% or more (compared to a 1% house edge in blackjack for
example). Casinos have designed their hotels to take advantage of this edge, placing slot machines as

Decline in popularity of slot machines
Because of this switch in popularity from slots to table games, the number of slot machines in Nevada
has dropped from 217,000 in 2001 to 175,000 in 2014. The earnings from slots have fallen too, as the
Center for Gambling Research at UNLV has concluded that Nevada casinos have experienced a 20%
reduction in slot revenue from 2007 to 2014. For MGM resorts itself, slot revenues have declined
from $2 billion in 2006 to $1.65 billion in 2010, mostly as a result of the economic recession
experienced throughout the country, before slowly growing to $1.67 billion in 2013. Despite the
decrease in overall revenues from slots, the casinos have increased its from every slot machine per day
despite shutting down some slots. At the same time, the company has reported an increase in table
games revenues. I think this shift by consumers as a whole, and especially millennials, is showing that

Brief Summary Of Christopher Browning s Ordinary Men
1 This summary paper on Christopher Browning s Ordinary Men will provide a summary and an
overview of the main ideas of the text while attempting to focus on Browning s overall central
argument which revolves around these seemingly normal and ordinary men and how they were
transformed into murderers due to various elements. The summary paper will also be dedicated to the
overall significance of the book and its significance in relation to the history of the Holocaust as a
whole. Browning s novel is significant in generating a greater awareness towards the Holocaust but
more specifically providing awareness towards who the perpetrators were as Browning provides an in
depth examination into the ordinary men which were transformed into these mass murderers, while
centering his argument on how and why did these normal and seemingly ordinary men transform into
the mass murderers in which they became. The novel also takes the reader into an in depth, detailed

The Navajo Creation Myth Analysis
As we continue to grow and have a greater impact on the Earth s systems, it is essential that we
address our role and relationship with nature. The separation of humans from nature encourages
environmentally irresponsible behavior because it allows us to take on the conqueror role, giving us
the ability to manipulate the landscape with the duty to provide and proliferate. Throughout human
history, we have made advancements in technology and agriculture, resulting in the imbalance and
overuse of land. The ability of humans to manipulate the landscape and recognize the consequences of
doing so makes us an invasive species. Our dependency on Earth s resources and services put us at
competition with the environment. In order to understand our role ... Show more content on

We must see beyond our narrow contemporary cultural assumptions and values, and use the
conventional wisdom of our time and place. We can hope to attain full mature personhood and
uniqueness when we achieve the meditative deep questioning process. Thoreau identifies four
necessities to live off the land with minimal hindrance: food, shelter, clothing, and fuel. Any attempt at
luxury is likely to prove more a hindrance than a help to an individual s improvement. These cellar
dents, like deserted fox burrows, old holes, are all that is left where once were the stir and bustle of
human life, and fate, free will, foreknowledge absolute, in some form and dialect or other were by

The Synthesis Of Most Coagulation Factors And Inhibitors
Liver has many haemostatic functions including the synthesis of most coagulation factors and
inhibitors as well as fibrinolytic factors. The balance between procoagulant and anticoagulant factors
is essential to prevent excessive blood loss from injured vessels and to prevent spontaneous
thrombosis(11).The global effect of liver disease with regard to hemostasis is therefore complex, so
that patients with advanced liver disease can experience severe bleeding or even thrombotic
complications(12).In our study as regards presence of co morbid factors namely DM and
hypertension, the prevalence of DM and hypertension was higher in PVT group than non PVT group,
these results match the findings reported by Martinelli et al.(13) who clarified that hypertension and
DM were associated with increased risk of PVT. That finding may be attributed to the association of
dyslipidemia with diabetes and increased risk of atherosclerosis. So patients with liver cirrhosis and
associated with diabetes or hypertension carry the risk for PVT more than cirrhotics without them. The

Reasons Why Student Athletes Should Not Be Paid For...
Division 1 and Division 2 colleges provide over 2.9 billion dollars a year in scholarships to student
athletes. Student athletes should not be compensated for participating in college sports. College
athletes can receive full ride scholarships for playing their sport of choice. Is the 40,000 dollars they
are receiving in scholarships not compensation; thus prompting the question is the top tier education
they are being provided with, not compensation enough? Most of the thousands of students that
participate in college sports compete for the love of the game, not for a paycheck. Furthermore,
college athletes understand that they may not compete at the pro level, in fact, only 2 % of college
athletes go on to play professionally. The main part of the term student athletes is student. Students do
not go to college expecting a check at the end of every month or to land a spot in the first round of the
draft, instead the purpose is to receive an education. All things considered, student athletes should not
receive compensation for playing sports in college because it would be almost financially impossible,
some are already provided with money from scholarships , and finally they are being provided with an
excellent higher education.
Some say colleges should pay athletes because it s a full time job, scholarships aren t enough, not all
players get scholarships or because the NCAA and universities make money off of the sports teams
and players. A big reason the controversy came

the most important advancements took place in the field of medicine when the world was embroiled in
World War II. As Dr. Ralph Major states, An army is a vast laboratory of medical research where
disease and injuries are seen on a far larger scale than in peacetime. Many improvements in the

Plasma was used to transfer blood as it served to keep satisfactory blood pressure and supply critical
proteins and globulins (antibodies) to the wounded soldiers (www.usaaf.net/wwii). There were many
uses of Plasma on the battlefield and on the whole, it helped keep a proper balance in the body which
makes it one of the best innovations in medical history. The pressing demand for blood on the
battlefields led to Britain organizing the International Transfusion Association in 1940 which collected
blood (people donated blood) and turned it into blood plasma. This program collected, processed and
transported 14,500 units of plasma to the allied armies and it was all done within five months
(home.att.net/wwii.htm). Dr. Drew was an important member of the group and his scientific research
helped revolutionize blood plasma transfusion so that blood plasma could readily be given to wounded
soldiers on the battlefield, which dramatically improved opportunities to save lives. Blood plasma
could also be dried which made it very easy to transport, pack, store and the soldiers could also carry

Consequences Of Civilization Dbq
A Civilization improves people s lives in comparison to the Neolithic Society as it shows an advanced
step into a social development and human society. The Neolithic Age which began around 8,000
B.C.E could be possibly describe as the greatest single change in human history, this is probably
because everything really revolves around it in our society now. As said by William Howells, Back of
History, Doubleay Co. It was dramatic, but long after, in its consequences, because everything else we
have achieved flowed out of this as a beginning... During the time of the Neolithic Revolution, people
had to set up temporary camps to live there for a while until the food begin to dwindle as starvation
was one step away with the weather changes and the animal migration! With the time passing by, they
were able to develop agriculture and with that people were able to farm instead of hunting and
gathering which lead to population expansion thus this is when a Civilization begin. With a

Mr. Johnson
November 23, 2015
The death penalty is a permitted by law deprivation of life as a criminal punishment. This issue have
been of a great importance throughout centuries parallel to the existence of states. Massive wave of
failures of the death penalty use occurred only in the 90th of the last century. In 1991, from the 180
countries present on the map the death penalty was abolished only in 60. Nevertheless, the official
abolishment of the legislation referring to the execution and the end of its practical use in most
countries differed over time, and in the majority of the most European countries this kind of
punishment has not been carried out more than a century. In Western countries, there is no unanimous
opinion on the appropriateness of the death penalty expense. Government, the legislature of the
European countries took the decision to abolish the death penalty, without relying on public opinion
and on the basis of civilizational and religious principles.
Kvashis (1999) evidences that the world community is moving steadily toward a world without death

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Market Based Optimal Power...
Optimal power flow is defined as fulfilling the power requirements of consumer s with least outlay of
power generation. OPF is a functional unit that reduces the production expenditure, bus voltage
divergences and losses which enhances the structure functionality by fulfilling some restraints. The
nature of some of the variables follows continuity with real output of power and voltage and few other
variables in OPF is discrete with phase shifters, reactive injections and tap settings in transformers
which is considered to be major problem. OPF problem was resolved by several traditional
optimization techniques.

My Favorite Place At The World Is The State Of Oregon
Oregon
My favorite place in the world is the state of Oregon. The reason for this being my favorite place is
because of how green and simply beautiful this place is. I have had the fortune of getting to visit this
state twice. I even took a train ride home from Washington through Oregon down to California. I must
add the scenery is seriously beautiful. I have never seen so many trees in my life. The name Oregon
means windstorm or hurricane. The reason they gave it this name is because of the powerful chinook
winds of the Columbia River that blows through this state. I also wanted to do this place because they
are known for their cheese and ice cream from the Tillamook brand. They also have a lot of wild
berries growing and have about 80 national parks you can visit. In Cannon Beach there is the famous
Haystack rock. Haystack rock is 235 ft tall and is home to wildlife. It also has made great tidepools

the feast of Pentacost all manner of men assayed to pull at the sword that wold assay, but none might
prevail but Arthur, and he pulled it afore all the lords and commons that were there, wherefore all the
commons cried at once, We will have Arthur unto our king; we will put him no more in delay, for we
all see that it is
God s will that he shall be our king, and who that holdeth against it, we will slay him .
And therewith they all kneeled at once, both rich and poor, and cried Arthur mercy because they had

  • 3. Analysis Of The Interview Process And My Partner Paul Cultures are different all across the world, and it s important to be able to learn about and understand other cultures to help us shape our anthropological insights. With the help of the CBL project and my partner Paul, I was able to interview Victor. The interview process started off awkwardly as there was a setup error and we didn t quite know where to start. Victor is a man originally from El Salvador that was now residing in St. Peter Minnesota. The interviews took place at the St. Peter community center, where we were around other immigrants who had come to America. Some were of somalin descent, while others were from Central America. We sat down and talked for around 45 minutes two times, and the last time we met for dinner with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We first established where Victor was from and he told us he was from San Sable, El Salvador. I then asked him some interesting features of his hometown. He told us that there are many places to eat and to walk around. He also said that his hometown is 20 minutes from the beach. He also said that they have the typical stores that we have here in America. Fun was commandingly spent at the beach, and fun seemed to revolve around going to the beach. This is slightly different than where I m from, where we don t have a beach. We instead do things outdoors like fishing, sports, and bonfires. Our next question was about differences in America compared to El Salvador. The main difference seemed to be around food. Victor said that they usually eat there same cultural foods, which consisted of open tortillas stuffed with meats and beans, and fried plantae. Dinner time in El Salvador is typically around 7pm. Meals are also supper dominant. Breakfasts and lunch are usually smaller, while supper are usually larger. Victor also shared with us that he lived in New York when he first came to the United States. He made three trips there. When compared to St. Peter, Victor told us that he liked the quietness more of St. Peter, than the busyness of New York. I was surprised, because I feel like New York is a commonly portrayed American city, while St. Peter isn t. Another big difference we discussed was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Schein (1992, 2004) defines the culture of a group or organization as shared assumptions and beliefs about the world and their place in it, the nature of time and space, human nature, and human relationships. (pg. 326) On the other hand, leadership provides the vision and helps the organization move in the direction to accomplish the best or the organization and the employees. It is important to understand the relationship between organizational culture and leadership and how they influence each other. Yukl states that by changing the culture of an organization, top management can indirectly influence the motivation and behavior of organization members. Research on organizational culture provides further insight into the dynamics of transformational leadership and the processes by which a leader s charisma may become institutionalized. T. S Eliot uses multiple different comparison tequniques such as similes. It is midnight and the speaker is walking down the street describing the darkness. Than they start to notice the street lamps: Every street lamp that I pass/Beats like a fatalistic drum ( 8 9). Although street lamps do not ususally have a sound to them the writer is setting the mood for the poem by using a simile that has words that combined give off an ominous feeling. The movie based around a young man named Harold Chasen, and an old woman Maude. Harold seems to have a bizarre psychological fascination with death. While Maude is also interested in death; she enjoys living as well and has lived her life to the fullest. Both are brought together while attending funerals simply because they enjoy them. Maude begins to influence and change Harold s perceptions and attitudes about life. Maude shares many of these ideas and beliefs with Harold, teaching him to dance, play the banjo, and just enjoy being alive, not dead. Harold was unaware that when he met Maude, she had planed all along to end her life at the age of eighty. She says several times throughout the movie, Did you know I ll be eighty on Saturday . Her decision to commit suicide shows that Maude feels she has done her part in helping Harold be a happier person and has succeeded in teaching him how to love and enjoy life, which are qualities he did not possess prior to their meeting. She makes him understand this when, after he tells her he loves her, she says, Go and love some more. After Maude s death, Harold drives his car over a cliff in another attempt to make people believe he is dead again. Harold walks away playing his banjo and dancing, things that Maude had taught him. By driving his car over the cliff to make people think he is dead again makes Harold happy since he enjoys being dead, but the banjo and Harold s dancing are symbols of the effects of his relationship with Maude. These signify that Harold has grown due to his relationship with Maude and will use the advice that Maude has given him in order to live a more fulfilling and enjoyable life. Because this film is so influenced by it s time, it seems appropriate that the director used the music of Cat Stevens. Cat Stevens music defined a generation, and Harold and Maude are no exception. • 8. Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury People of all ages suffer from the negative effects of long term exposure to technology. As technology continues to evolve, the human brain struggles to keep up, and ultimately loses a multitude of once valued abilities, such as the ability to focus, and deep intellectual thinking. People grow severely attached to these new artificial intelligence, that they forget there are other real people whom they can communicate with and share thoughts with. As Fahrenheit 451 has illustrated, our society has evolved to interact with technology on a more personal level, change the way humans interact with one another, shift the way political subjects are dealt with, and change what the roles of certain people in a community are and how those communities function. The society portrayed in Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, puts the near future into words for the readers of today to visualize the harsh changes the world will suffer. The communities in the story consist of ignorant, and hollow people. These people live their lives without ever truly living. The technology surrounding them allows for no time to relax, think, and communicate personally with others. A fireman named Guy Montag realizes what kind of society he lives in after taking time to listen to his vibrant 17 year old neighbor, Clarisse McClellan, talk about a past as bright and optimistic as her. Apart from the similarities mentioned above, traditional and modern families have several differences in the areas of family size and gender roles. One major difference between the traditional and modern family is the decrease in family size. The traditional family tends to be extended with three or more generations in the same household because it provides a strong union between its members. Owen uses language features such as similes, personification and strong adjectives to make the readers feel pity, disbelief and disgust at the struggles these men went through during the war. Throughout the poem the poet makes the reader feel disgust using violent imagery to show the harsh conditions that the soldiers experienced, and how the war affected them. This is shown when an unlucky soldier is described dying in a gas attack. Although some say abortion is in there own hands and is there own decision, others believe that no one but God has the right to take someone else s life. Analysis Of Ben Jonson s Of An Age, But For All Time Ben Jonson wrote Shakespeare was not of an age, but for all time, representing how 21st century ideas and themes can be connected back to the time when 1 Henry IV was written. One contemporary issue displayed in the play is a phenomenon known as helicopter parenting. According to Webster s Dictionary, a helicopter parent is when a parent is very involved in a child s life. Parents will often put expectations on their children to achieve certain dreams parents have of their kids. Thus, putting a tremendous amount of anxiety and stress on their children. This idea is demonstrated throughout the play between King Henry and Prince Hal. King Henry expects his son to act a certain way, to take his role in the kingdom seriously and be focused on the kingdom and the duties he serves to the kingdom. Looking at two examples from the text, one can identify the transformation of the test to 21st century problem of parents pressuring kids to attend college or act a certain way. Throughout the play King Henry would like his son, Prince Hal, to act a certain way. The King wants Prince Hal to act royal and responsible, like Hotspur. An Investigation into Response to Disaster Using Qualitative Methods Abstract This study investigated the accounts of individuals involved in the London underground bombings in 2005. Throughout this investigation, thematic analysis was conducted on six eyewitness accounts, highlighting their feelings and actions, which came about as a result of the incident. From these accounts I obtained 4 key themes, which were consistent components of the six accounts. Evidently, I found that the two most common themes were helping behaviour and the panic myth. This was rather unexpected, as initially, I expected to find irrational and helpless behaviour, due to the panic and stress of being trapped in a bombed underground. To conclude, the investigation illuminated the concept of helping others before helping ones self. Thus, contradicting the concept of survival of the fittest, as in this case the fittest were those who took it upon themselves to assist other passengers in need. The only thing that would be natural would be nature. In nature there are some species that do engage in homosexual activity. So by this natural standard it could not be used to reject Tommy and Jim. Another argument against homosexuals is that it is harmful to society through the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STD), by denying population growth and how it harms our youth. The first issue is addressed by simple process of elimination if homosexual males are at the highest risk of getting an STD and lesbian women at the lowest risk. Than Corvino is able to challenge the argument by concluding that if you are only choosing a partner based on risk of disease than women should only be with other women as the risk is the lowest. When Interactive Slots are the future of Casino games When you walk into a casino, the first thing to greet you upon your arrival is usually a bright and shiny video lottery machine, better know as a slot machine. Slot machines are easy to play, and you can play at your own pace without having to deal with other humans. They are comforting and simple, leaving the user with an easy task of pushing a putting or pulling a lever. However, they hold a dirty secret too. The worst odds of all the games you can play at a casino are those shiny slot machines, with the house having an edge of 10% or more (compared to a 1% house edge in blackjack for example). The separation of humans from nature encourages environmentally irresponsible behavior because it allows us to take on the conqueror role, giving us the ability to manipulate the landscape with the duty to provide and proliferate. Throughout human history, we have made advancements in technology and agriculture, resulting in the imbalance and overuse of land. The Synthesis Of Most Coagulation Factors And Inhibitors Liver has many haemostatic functions including the synthesis of most coagulation factors and inhibitors as well as fibrinolytic factors. The balance between procoagulant and anticoagulant factors is essential to prevent excessive blood loss from injured vessels and to prevent spontaneous thrombosis(11).The global effect of liver disease with regard to hemostasis is therefore complex, so that patients with advanced liver disease can experience severe bleeding or even thrombotic complications(12).In our study as regards presence of co morbid factors namely DM and hypertension, the prevalence of DM and hypertension was higher in PVT group than non PVT group, these results match the findings reported by Martinelli et al.(13) who clarified that hypertension and DM were associated with increased risk of PVT. That finding may be attributed to the association of dyslipidemia with diabetes and increased risk of atherosclerosis. Student athletes should not be compensated for participating in college sports. College athletes can receive full ride scholarships for playing their sport of choice. Is the 40,000 dollars they are receiving in scholarships not compensation; thus prompting the question is the top tier education they are being provided with, not compensation enough? Most of the thousands of students that participate in college sports compete for the love of the game, not for a paycheck. Furthermore, college athletes understand that they may not compete at the pro level, in fact, only 2 % of college athletes go on to play professionally. The main part of the term student athletes is student. Students do not go to college expecting a check at the end of every month or to land a spot in the first round of the draft, instead the purpose is to receive an education. All things considered, student athletes should not receive compensation for playing sports in college because it would be almost financially impossible, some are already provided with money from scholarships , and finally they are being provided with an excellent higher education. Some say colleges should pay athletes because it s a full time job, scholarships aren t enough, not all players get scholarships or because the NCAA and universities make money off of the sports teams and players.
