Selecting Trade Banker
Case Study #3: Selecting a Trade Banker
Banking on relationship
Technon International is a Canadian high technology development firm, focused on emerging
technologies in wireless communications. Technon sources components in China and has offshore
programming activities in India covering certain functionality in its new wristwatch PDA with MP3
and cellular capabilities.
Technon has several Canadian and international patents to protect its proprietary technology, and has
developed some strong non disclosure agreements for use with its various suppliers and business
partners.
A small company established in Saskatchewan, Canada, Technon had been doing most of its
commercial banking through a local credit union (small, local ... Show more content on

First Trade Bank USA (FTB)
First Trade Bank, USA, is a regional financial institution and mid tier US bank with trade finance
operations and capabilities centered around the US Midwest, and no Canadian presence to date. FTB
has had good success as a niche provider of trade services, and has strong relationships with several
Canadian businesses seeking to establish operations in the US. FTB offers an adequate range of trade
products, though Technon perceives that its advisory capabilities are limited.
The Need
Technon has identified several major needs and expectations in terms of international and trade
finance banking products and services. In addition to extending additional credit in support of planned
international expansion, the Company seeks to establish a relationship with a financial institution that
understands the challenges of a SME expanding its international reach.
The company expects to deal in both import and export transactions, in a combination of documentary
letter of credit and open account transactions. Its primary markets will be the United States, China,
India and possibly a foray into the European Union through Ireland.
Technon requires significant support in terms of advisory services and transactional hand holding , and
wishes to control overall banking costs, while

A Fast Paced, Business Ordinated Technological World The...
In a fast paced, business ordinated technological world the overall welfare of a company is tied to the
success or failure to make the tough decisions. On one instance a company s CEO might be able to
make the choices based on experience, advice, or simple gut instinct. However, this is not the only
skill one needs. There is a great deal of information to be found in being able to see investments in
data and analytics. These decisions are based off of big data. Big data is a catch phrase, used to
describe a massive volume of both structured and unstructured data that is too large to process using
traditional database and software techniques. The volume of data is in most cases is too big, moves too
fast or it exceed the processing capacity the company has. Despite these potential drawbacks, big data
contains the potential to help companies by improving operations and making faster, more intelligent
decisions. This can be broken into three key parts, knowledge, data, and information. The first of the
three is knowledge. This is what drives what one knows, a combination of experience, insight, and
information. All link and categorized in one s brain, allowing an individual or organization to benefit
from that knowledge. However, there lines in the main difficulty with relying on just knowledge, a
computer is not able to understand what it is processing, and thus cannot make independent decisions
based solely on what it s been told. While this seems to be a simple concept,

The Death Penalty

English 112
Mr. Johnson
November 23, 2015
The death penalty is a permitted by law deprivation of life as a criminal punishment. This issue have
been of a great importance throughout centuries parallel to the existence of states. Massive wave of
failures of the death penalty use occurred only in the 90th of the last century. In 1991, from the 180
countries present on the map the death penalty was abolished only in 60. Nevertheless, the official
abolishment of the legislation referring to the execution and the end of its practical use in most
countries differed over time, and in the majority of the most European countries this kind of
punishment has not been carried out more than a century. In Western countries, there is no unanimous
opinion on the appropriateness of the death penalty expense. Government, the legislature of the
European countries took the decision to abolish the death penalty, without relying on public opinion
and on the basis of civilizational and religious principles.
Kvashis (1999) evidences that the world community is moving steadily toward a world without death
penalty (p.78). Now the death penalty is used mostly in Muslim countries, traditions of which, in
addition to what is meant punishment for a range of offenses that are not considered in any country in
the European world, and recommend more highly violent methods of its implementation from
beheading to stoning.

complex machinery in place of a simple spoon. On the pipes of the machine, there are words such as:

In the first source, a classical liberalist approach is taken when looking at the efficiency of welfare
programs, and to what extent the government should use citizen s tax dollars to pay for it. The
political cartoon displays how inefficient and bureaucratic government involved programs are,
opposing the idea that a government should interfere with the economy in such a way. The first source
would support a laissez faire economy and see truth in the trickle down theory. However, the second
source is in direct opposition of the opinion of the first source. The author of the second source
heavily critiques laissez faire economics and the trickle down theory. By taking a modern liberalist
stance, the second source endorses government intervention within the economy and the use of tax
dollars to help those who need economic support. The second source believes that leaving people to

The Characteristics Of Louise From Bob s Burgers
Have you ever seen and a movie or a show that when you watch it makes you feel like you re that
character in the movie or show? And all the characteristics that one character has you see them in you.
People mostly teenagers in my perspective and the ones that connect with the characters more because
they are trying to find themselves. To find who they are and they may change characters they feel a
connotation with and that is okay because they are find themselve and that is the process of connecting
with a character. And not only that but also taking these characteristics and applying them to their
lives forever. The three fictional characters that most represent my personality are Louise from Bob s
Burgers because she lets her voice be heard in any shape or form, Dina from Girls Trip for her wild
being but also for her protect sided for the ones she cares for, and Ponyo a Japanese character for her
braveness from the unknown.
Even though Louise is the smallest one out of three siblings, she is the one who brings everyone
together because she speaks her mind, and that does not mean that we don t share some of the same
characteristics because we do since she speaks her mind just like me, without thinking sometimes.
When Bob s Burgers started, Louise was the character that meant no harm when she spoke. For
example, when her aunt came to her burger spot and started to complain about her appearance and
about how she could not find love, Louise just told her to lose some

Analysis Of Raja Rao s Book
Philosophy permeating through Raja Rao s novels is generally held to be Vedantic in tone and temper.
Being a Vedantin, he seeks Truth on the lines of Advaitavada and frequently refers to the precepts
from the Upanishadas. To him, writing is a visible expression of his deeply felt spiritual experiences.
Duly recognizing man s deep need to seek and realize Truth, he endeavours to revive the traditional
Indian quest with all its rigour. The Advaita philosophy of Sankaracharya forms the core of Raja Rao s
fictional world. Sankaracharya expounded the Advaita philosophy in its final form, imparting to it
impeccable perfection. This paper focuses on the Advait philosophy by Raja Rao with special
reference to The Cat and Shakeshpeare and The Serpent and The Rope. Advait Philosophy in Raja Rao
s Novels Raja Rao s quest for Truth, urged him to delve deep into Indian philosophy and literature.
Indian philosophy is no mere speculation into the nature of reality. It is a sublime and unique system
based on mystic and spiritual experience. Dealing as it does with the practical needs of man; it gives
clear solution to profound subtle problems of life and reveals the way to final emancipation. In the
words of Sri Swami Krishnananda, a great philosopher saint: Philosophy is the study of the ultimate
nature of things. It is the investigation into the final cause or causes of all phenomena ... Philosophy is
not a theory but a vision of life (darsana)

The Message in the Music Essay
The Message in the Music
Music means many different things to many different people. To a listener, a song is sometimes for
four simple minutes of entertainment, but sometimes it is much more. Sometimes, a song is a message
from the artist. This is much the same way from the opposite end of the spectrum. An artists message
can get so complex that it is completely lost on the listener.
This essay is about song analysis. I will be analyzing two songs performed by the same artist but
performed with two different bands. Although performed by different groups, the music is similar and
so is the message. The two bands being examined are Tool and A Perfect Circle. These are both
considered rock bands and work within the same industrial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The second verse contains the line, You told us you werent afraid to die. Well then, so long. This line
seems to be less criticizing than the first, but still is telling Jesus that after all this time of preaching
how much he would sacrifice, he is now going to have to live up to his promise or to die for it.
Another line in this verse is,Not all martyrs see divinity. But at least you tried. Here, the singer is
almost being sympathetic with Him, saying his cause was a valiant effort and claiming him to be a
martyr, someone who suffers for a cause or sacrifices his or her life for a great purpose. Although they
say that He wont reach the higher state of divinity, they still acknowledge his effort.
The third verse goes back to the original tone of the song by criticizing the Lord, this time by saying
that he blamed all things that were evil on other people. This is expressed though the line, Ranting and
pointing his finger. At everything but his heart. The part about his heart doesnt come off as an
emotional or spiritual metaphor, but rather a literal accusation that He never turned the blame on
Himself and always pointed His finger away.
It is in the forth verse when the artist turns from speaking about Jesus in a third person to the first
person. To me, this is more personal and angry than the first three verses. In these three lines, the artist
claims that Jesus had told him something, maybe

Sara Ramirez Essay
Last month, CBS debuted their last cast addition to the show Madame Secretary Sara Ramirez.
Ramirez s new presence on the show is significant but it seems to be signaling a larger sea change in
prime time television that has historically lacked diversity. Ramirez, who is an openly bisexual Latina
woman, has been a mainstay on the show Grey s Anatomy over the years. Her latest role as Kat

Principles Of Data Quality Management
Principles of Data Quality
There are many principles for the data quality that ensure the data quality for the data entered to a
database. The most significant principles for the data quality include:
1 The Vision
2 The Policy
3 The Strategy
4 The collector has primary responsibility
5 User responsibility
6 Consistency
7 Transparency
8 Outliers
The Vision
It is very important for the big organization to get a high vision for their data and its quality especially
when the same data will be shared with other organization, companies or users. In the vision the
managers should focus on the resources that will use to build the data like the software, like the
database software and its capabilities, and the hardware like the computers and the routers and other
hardware equipment.
The Policy
As well as the vision, the organization should have a policy to implement its vision for the database,
which make the organization think to improve their database to reach its vision. Policy help the
organization to be more obvious about its goals with focusing on reducing costs, improving data
quality, improving customer service and relations, and improving the decision making process.
The Strategy
The organizations should have a good strategy to manage their database and data entry process.
Therefore, the organizations need to improve a strong strategy for capturing and checking data. The
good strategy must include some clear goals for the short, intermediate, and long terms, which

In The Mood For Love Film Analysis
Kar Wai s film, In The Mood For Love, is a Chinese melodrama, set in Hong Kong, during 1962. This
film is not a traditional romantic drama, but rather it shows the irony of love, which connects to a
larger audience. Throughout this film, there are many unique camera shots, such as using a mirror to
be dramatic, but mysterious. This can also be said for the long shot scenes in the apartment building
that both of the main characters, Mrs. Chan and Mr. Chow live with their respected partners. Within
the entire film, there are many scenes where a person is seen, but their face remains anonymous. There
are countless shots that give off a mysterious tone through the mise en scène, from having the camera
behind a dirty window, to only showing a person s back.
As the sequence begins, in Shot 1, the audience sees what looks to be a lamp with trees on it in the
foreground, while a buzzing noise is ringing in the background. As the audience, we have no
knowledge as to what this symbolizes. Within a few seconds of the lamp being on screen, there is a cut
to a new camera, Shot 2, showing a door with a small window in it. Through this window we see the
back of a woman walking to open her door. Another camera swap, and the audience have now seen
Mrs. Chan s face, with a dark background behind her. She is wearing a one piece outfit, which looks to
be inspired by the 1960s as it is very colorful. There are stripes of red, blue, yellow, green, and even
brown travelling all the way up to the top of her neck. Her hair looks to be very proper, and elegant
looking for Hong Kong in 1962, when women were abiding the standards of couples and proper
decorum of women, which was the era this movie was shot to look like. There is then a conversation
between Mrs. Chan and another woman, whose face we do not see throughout the whole conversation.
Shot 3 is one continuous shot throughout the entire almost forty second long conversation between
Mrs. Chan and the mysterious woman. After the woman declined to chat with Mrs. Chan, there is
another cut, Shot 4, where the camera is pointed towards Mrs. Chan, who is facing the door which was
just previously shut in her face. For about five seconds there is no sound and very little movement as

Helicobacter Pylori Infection
Abstract
Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium responsible for worldwide chronic bacterial infection in human. At
least half of the world s population host H. pylori that causes various gastric pathological outcomes
with some leading to gastric cancer. The infection by this bacterium has directly or indirectly caused
an impact on economic and general well being of the people; hence, there is an urgent need to
discover diagnostic markers that could be utilized for future development of diagnostic kits that are
highly sensitive and specific. Here, we briefly review general aspects of H. pylori infection and the
diagnostic biomarkers currently used in laboratory tests for the diagnosis of H. pylori infection with a
focus on the role of microfluidic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides that, protein based diagnostic kits are also available in ELISA and latex agglutination test
cards (20). Elisa Kits are the most specific and sensitive test for detection of H. pylori infection,
however, these tests are expensive and time consuming. Another lab based serological method is
immunoblotting. Immunoblotting is also performed as a lab based serological method. These assays
detect anti H. Pylori antibodies in either fecal, whole blood, serum, or urine (20, 95 98). Most of the
commercial antibody based tests for detecting H. pylori infection use bacterial lysate or partially
purified bacterial antigens. Only a few recombinant antigen based tests have recently been introduced
into the market. Due to higher sensitivity and specificity over a single antigen, most commercial
diagnostic kits apply a mixture of antigenic extract (18 20, 29, 97). However, the names of antigens
used in commercial kits are usually undisclosed (Table 2). The cost of diagnostics is also one of the
important factors for developing rapid kits. To decrease the cost, several parameters should be
considered: (1) minimal use of expensive reagents, (2) inexpensive manufacturing for mass
production, (3) quality control, and (4) miniaturization. In addition, for clinical use of medical
diagnostic devices in resource limited settings, environmental

Modern Martial Arts
Philosophy is one of the most important aspects of any traditional martial art. The philosophies of
many martial arts such as Taekwondo, Kung Fu, and Karate are based off of Confucianism and
principles from Confucius s The Analects. Although traditional martial arts contain philosophical
teachings, modern martial arts have lost their meaning, or art. The popularity of the Ultimate Fighting
Championship (UFC) and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) has contributed greatly to the loss of meaning
in modern martial arts. By examining the philosophy s importance in The Analects, one can see how
martial arts is more than a physical set of skills. One of the most important aspects of martial arts is
philosophy; without philosophy, there is no art. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout history, there have been famous groups of warriors who followed codes of conduct based
on Confucianism and Confucius s script, The Analects. The Samurai of Japan are the most famous
warriors associated with Confucianism, specifically referring to a code called Bushido, and are noted
for their display of chivalry to both friends and foes. Chivalry in Asia guides conduct as to inspire and
enhance humanity s development (Simpkins, Annellen and Alex). The ancient Hwa Rang Do warriors
of Korea also borrowed ideas from Confucian doctrine. Hwa Rang Do later became known as
Taekwondo, the most popular martial art in the world. Taekwondo s moral culture is influenced by the
moral culture of Confucian philosophy (Maguire). Modern Taekwondo is more than a skill/technique

Jackie Robinson And Racial Barriers In Sports
Can you ever imagine yourself living in an era where you are constancy denied due to the color of
your skin? In the 1940s early 1950s segregation was still existent and in full effect. Baseball was
amongst one of the most popular sports in America but there were separate leagues that were involved
within this, Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Negro Baseball Leagues were the only leagues that
were existent during the era of segregation. There was only one person that had the guts to enter the
Major League of Baseball, his name was Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson had the perseverance to
face this racial barrier in sports as an obstacle to overcome throughout the duration of his career.
Jackie Robinson was a major influence when it came down to breaking the racial barrier in sports, he
inspired many people to fight for the equality that African Americans truly deserved. Robinson had
many influences during his career in baseball that had helped him break this barrier but there was one
man that changed the entire sport of baseball, his name was Branch Rickey. Rickey was an American

The United States of America is far most known as the best place for a person to live in and enjoy a

problems in their life but others do. Kuwait on the other hand, which is located in the Middle East

Co-Owners And Hannon Case Study
Assuming, arguendo, that there was a special relationship between the Co Owners and Hannon there

Critically, the presence of a special relationship is merely a necessary, and not a sufficient, condition
required to demonstrate the presence of a legally cognizable duty. In addition to a special relationship,
Byrne must also plead facts sufficient to demonstrate that the probability of potential harm and the
gravity of potential harm outweigh the burdens that would be required to reduce the risk of harm.

How Did Mrs. Dunlap Influenced My Writing
Writing is often considered mundane and banal to some students. In fact, people have even written
things down since the beginning of time. I dreaded writing until I had Mrs. Dunlap for 4th block
English during my 8th grade year at Mount Juliet Middle. This is the story about how she made me
the writer I am today with what I like to call Write speration.
When I first went back for my last middle school year, I secretly hoped that I would get a great
English teacher, and I liked her from the first day. She had us do what is called Daily Grammar
Practice (DGP), which greatly strengthened my grammar skills. Mrs. Dunlap also did a unit on World

Outsiders, and it was unlike anything I had ever read. We dove into the book, exploring its deeper
meaning. She taught me to go to the heart of the story/poem/play and understand the author s purpose
for writing it, from Catching Fire to The Diary Of Anne Frank. It was then that I got inspired to write
my first play, Kingdom Rock.
Since Kingdom Rock was the first play that I had ever written, I felt that Mrs. Dunlap herself should
be the first to read it. After she had finished reading, she brought it back to me and whispered Good

who had inspired me to write it, LIKED it. She encouraged me to write more, which inspired me to

Analysis Of Enkidu s The Epic
Enkidu s role in the epic explores the idea that humans cultivation of the earth to suit their own needs
will lead to their demise. Enkidu was depicted as androgynous to allow the reader to see themselves in
the journey and allows the narrator more flexibility. Enkidu was described as lush with head hair like a
woman . Gilgamesh recounted a dream to his mother saying, I fell in love with it like a woman I
caressed it . The use of the word it can imply gender is disregarded and allows the narrator the ability
to play with the idea of it being a woman but still leaving room for the masculine interpretation. In
contrast Enkidu was also described as a strong, fearless and great warrior. He was said to have the
strength of heaven, and mighty will be his strength he was also said to be valiant in the steppe which
signifies that he is fearless in the wild, and he would have the force of the hero Ninurta, god of war.
Enkidu s character is androgynous and his journey symbolizes that of man s. The story of Enkidu is
similar to the creation myth of the Bible. According to TheTorah.com part 1 The Midrash Adam like
Enkidu was created from clay and was Androgynous. According to Genesis 5:2 of the King James

when they were created This supports the theory that man was created androgynous. Since the epic

Tristan And Isolde Essay
In Tristan, by Gottfried Von Strassburg, Tristan and Isolde s love is best characterized as being moral
and immoral at the same time. This paradoxical feature is indivisible to their relationship and it

Isolde and Tristan lie together in a cave with a sword between them.
In Chapter 23, in order to prove her innocence and to end the rumor in the court, Isolde has to accept
Bishop s suggestion for an ordeal of hot red iron. She fears her reputation and honor will be ruined at
once and she is also troubled by the fact that she needs to come up with a plot to whitewash her
falseness (246). She confides all these secret struggles to God and she finds her way through praying

Tristan and Isolde are banished because Mark, King of Cornwall, is suspicious again. Led by the
master huntsman, Mark discovers the cave where the two live in and, with deep suspicion in his heart,
he believes this is the chance to discover the truth. Through the window, he finds his wife and nephew
well away from each other, one on one side, the other on the other, with the naked sword between
them (272). Tristan and Isolde seem to be so innocent, however, they hide their guilt in deep as this is
another plot to cover their immoral love. The virtuous act is indeed immoral because it hides their
intimate relationship. Tristan proposes this plan out of constant fear that someone might discover their
relationship. Isolde adopts the plan as neither does she want it to happen. In fact, the two enjoy their
time together very much. The cave they live in is called the Cave of Lovers, with a bed in the center
which is engraved along its sides with letters, announcing that the bed was dedicated to the Goddess

Colorimetric Assay Lab Report
Creatinine is a waste product filtered by the kidneys into the blood (serum) and urine. High serum,
and/or urine creatinine levels are indicative of kidney dysfunction. A colorimetric assay can be used to
determine the creatinine concentration in the urine and serum samples from patients who are
suspected to have kidney dysfunction.
In the creatinine colorimetric assay the absorbance of the yellow creatinine picric complex, which is
formed from the reaction between creatinine and picric acid, is read spectrophotometrically. Using
spectrophotometric data one can determine the relationship between creatinine concentration and
absorbance by fitting an equation to the creatinine and absorbance data. The equation sets a standard
which can be used to determine the concentration of creatinine in solutions, such as blood and urine,
which contain creatinine.
The colorimetric assay is useful in so far as finding the concentration of creatinine. However, a
diagnosis of kidney dysfunction requires the creatinine concentration in both serum and urine to be
analysed. This is because serum and urine creatinine concentration can vary as function of the patient
s gender, age, size (i.e., body obesity, muscle mass, or malnutrition). This can lead to creatinine
concentration appearing normal when there is an underlying kidney dysfunction, or ... Show more

The Dust Bowl Of The United States
Life in the midwest of the United States during the 1930s was hardly quintessential. A notable
provoker for this adversity was the dust storm known as the Dust Bowl , that lasted until about 1940.
The Dust Bowl had consequences all over the United States. Besides causing the largest migration in
American history when people began fleeing the midwest, it lead to the deaths of thousands of people
and prompted soil conservation campaigns that called forth on the federal government. The Dust Bowl
was an entirely avoidable tragedy rooted in greed and ignorance where innocent people paid the price.
The tragedy began when people had started traveling across the United States looking for exceptional
farming land. They found this promise land in the midwest with the extensive amount of grasslands
throughout the area. After settling, farmers began grazing cattle and plowing the grassy areas in order
to plant wheat. Cattle grazing and plowing spread throughout millions of more acres in the midwest.
An innumerable amount of these areas were destroyed as a result of the overgrazing. When the
grazing was decreased and the demand for wheat products rose, farmers begun to plow more instead.
With the land mostly uncovered and tons of topsoil apparent, the tragedy commenced when a severe
drought struck. The lack of rain caused the soil to dry up and, essentially, turn into dust. Everything
really took a turn for the worse when the soil turned into dust. It was only a matter of time

Moralism In A Christmas Carol
Have you ever regretted anything from your past? Of course you have. If you haven t, well you re
lying to yourself. In life we all go through events and trials and make mistakes. Mistakes are what
make us human, it s all apart of life. So in A Christmas Carol at around Stave 2, Ebenezer
Scrooge was visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past, he was the first of the three spirits that would
visit Scrooge later on in the story. He would take Scrooge to Christmas scenes of
Scrooge s childhood and youth, which would bring him back old memories old that reminded him of a
time when he was nice. These scenes portray Scrooge s lonely childhood, his relationship with his
beloved sister Fan and a Christmas party hosted by his first employer Mr.

people away, and that s exactly why Scrooge is alone. At times there are moments in life where we
think if we chose better decisions, than our life would have been different for the better. At times I
think that if I chose different decisions my freshman year, High school would have been better for me.

The Effects Of Divorce On Children And Teens
Divorce is one of the most common happenings in the world experienced by children. Most children
go through different adjustments to become comfortable with the fact that their parents are not
together anymore. Children of divorced parents are prone to lifelong effects. Seventy five to eighty
percent of children have divorced parents and twenty five percent of those children have serious
social, emotional, or psychological problems for the rest of their life. Most adults think that it is best
for parents to stay together for the sake of their child because having two parents in different
households can become difficult for the child socially and academically.
Parents value obedience as a favor when the child s actions conflict with the parents rights. Different
parents have all sorts of rules for their child in different households. It becomes difficult for the child
during a divorce because now they are needed to go by different rules in different households. Studies
show that if the child is out with the wrong parent they will most likely do drugs or bad in school.

child needs discipline, The child tends to more likely do better if the parents has rules in their
household. The younger they are, the less they achieve academically. Parenting has a huge impact on

Analysis Of Sia Furler s Chandelier
A woman s work is never done: many people grow up with this saying and feel it to be true. One such
woman, artist Sia Furler, has written countless number one music hits, and she argues that while
society teaches us only young people can enter the mainstream music scene, you can still be
successful at an older age. Sia begins building her credibility by sharing personal accomplishments as
she enters the music scene, then goes on to cite convincing personal stories, and successfully employs
emotional appeals through her music debut; however, her dramatic entrance leaves you wondering
whether her attempt to appeal to listeners attention weakens her credibility as an artist.
Throughout her era of new music, Sia uses strong appeals to logos, with many facts and logical
progression of ideas. As her single Chandelier hits number one, people started to wonder who the girl
behind the wig really was. She gives them facts of her past that bring them to like her even more,
going on to reveal that she s written number one hits sung by other artists. On the cover of a billboard
magazine Sia has a paper bag on her head with a message written on it saying, This artist is
responsible for over twelve million track sales, has a new single on the hunger games soundtrack, and
doesn t want to be famous...
Sia uses logos to entice mystery, giving out facts that only make listeners more obsessed with finding
out who she is. This may be one of the most important aspects of Sia advertising her new music. A
video titled ten songs you didn t know were written by Sia gains millions of views. All this attention
and mystery only drive up sales of the new single.
Adding to her logos appeal, Sia uses strong sources that strengthen her credibility and appeal to ethos.
She goes on to cite personal stories from her past that suck in the listener and gains their trust. I was a
pill popper, the hit maker shared with OK! Magazine, revealing that she became dependent on Xanax
and OxyContin, after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Sia hasn t yet revealed what she looks like but people everywhere already have a since of credibility.
This feeds the audiences values, who have discovered that Sia is a former drug addict who is now

Essay on Positive psych
Abstract
The emerging field of positive psychology has gained a lot of interest in the recent years. Positive
psychology has been proven to promote happiness in many individual s lives as well as reinforce their
personal feelings of self worth. The use of positive psychology can be applied to multiple aspects of
an individual s life, making it a universal approach to happiness and less stress. One major group of
individuals that can effectively carry out the use of positive psychology is athletes. Instilling and
educating coaches and players about this approach could help players deal with the immense amount
of pressure the players go through. Professional athletes obviously take on more pressures than
younger players, but the use of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is much research that suggests that happiness is also a means toward higher levels of overall
success. Using positive psychology can promote happiness, which, in return, will lead to more overall
success in an individual s life (Ben Shahar 2007). By using the positive psychology approach an
individual can lower stress while improving personal biological and spiritual health. Another
advantage point to positive psychology is that it can be applied to many aspects of an individual s life.
Positive psychology can be applied to education, the workplace, and in relationships (Ben Shahar
2007). Athletes for example, are a group of individuals who could really benefit from positive
psychology. Athletes of all ages and skill type experience some sort of pressure while playing their
beloved sport. Younger athletes could feel pressure from coaches, teammates, and even parents. If you
re a parent or coach, you probably have an opinion about youth sports. You might think that sports
help children develop teamwork skills, self confidence, resiliency, moral character, and other personal
strengths. Or you may see a dark side to youth sports, believing that young athletes develop aggressive
traits like bullying and the need to dominate their opponents on and off the field. The proponents of
youth sports often make blanket statements about the benefits of sports, leading parents to believe that

A Rose for Emily illustrate love, disappointment of life, grief, death, and rejection that Emily has
received throughout her life; as a young woman in her time. Emily is not able to be herself in an era
where women had an important role in society. She was expected to be the one person that the town

have someone always looking over her shoulder. So throughout the story the town people whisper
about her in the hopes it wouldn t get back to her. The narrators of this story are from the perspective
of how they see her. Emily is different in a time when difference is not ratified or accepted. When
Emily finally passed away all of the town went to her funeral, which was held in her home. The last
type of star home for the period of time. It was a big, squarish frame house that had once been white,
decorated with cupolas and spires and scrolled balconies in the heavily lightsome style of the

care of her, for 10 years. After Emily s Father died she received notifications of her past due balances

generation, came over to see her in her home she was surprised to see them because she lived in
isolation for 10 years after her father died. When mayor and alderman got there they had

Mere Christianity Research Paper
There are many situations where I felt myself and others were treated unfairly; However, I m going to

not all Christians do that. Some Christians use their Christianity to judge those who are not living up

Characteristics Of Different Business Markets
1.1 Explain the characteristics of different business markets Characteristics of different business
markets include: General market description, business opportunity, market segmentation, market size
trends, competition, customer profile and business environment. Looking at the different
characteristics can help evaluate the market, this can be achieved by dividing the market into specific
segments: by geographical market: by customer type: such as industries, professions, age. Evaluate the
market size and trends by breaking the market into segments. This is often done to help assess who is
the competition and how strong it may be within its own field. 1.2 Explain the nature of interactions

process that occurs between companies and which changes and transforms aspects of the resources
and activities of the involved companies and of the companies themselves. For example, the
interaction may lead to one of the companies modifying the product and service offering that it
supplies to a counterpart. It may also lead the counterpart to reorganize aspects of its operations in
order to accommodate that offering. Interaction also forms a working structure for a business network
and provides an element of stability to how different companies relate to each other within a network.

The Sunni-Shia Conflict
The historic background of the Sunni Shia lies in the schism that occurred when the Islamic prophet
Mohammed died in the 632, leading to a dispute over succession to Mohammed as a caliph of the
Islamic community spread across various parts of the world, which led to the battel of Safin. The
dispute intensified greatly after the battle of Karbala, in which Hussein ibn ail and his household were
killed by the ruling Umayyad caliph Yazidi, and the outcry for revenge divided the early Islamic
community. Today, there are differences in religious practice, traditions, and customs, often related to
jurisprudence. Although all Muslims groups consider the Quran to be divine, Sunni and Shia have

Decarbonize Urban Areas
If we are going to decarbonise our cities and regions, we need to promote high density urban
development. Increasing density reduces the size of houses and overall its consumption of resources
(Rauland and Newman 2011). The authors further contend, therefore that increasing density has
numerous other benefits, including enabling better public transport infrastructure such as light rail and
trains as well as increasing the walkability of cities, all of which will significantly reduce transport
emissions ( Rauland and Newman p. 6. 2011). Adding density to transform cities can also improve
quality of life by offering more local amenities and better lifestyles ( Rauland and Newman 2011). The

In a fast paced, business ordinated technological world the overall welfare of a company is tied to the success or failure to make the tough decisions. On one instance a company s CEO might be able to make the choices based on experience, advice, or simple gut instinct. However, this is not the only skill one needs. There is a great deal of information to be found in being able to see investments in data and analytics. These decisions are based off of big data. Big data is a catch phrase, used to describe a massive volume of both structured and unstructured data that is too large to process using traditional database and software techniques. Despite these potential drawbacks, big data contains the potential to help companies by improving operations and making faster, more intelligent decisions. This can be broken into three key parts, knowledge, data, and information. The first of the three is knowledge. This is what drives what one knows, a combination of experience, insight, and information. All link and categorized in one s brain, allowing an individual or organization to benefit from that knowledge. Running head: DEATH PENALTY The Death Penalty Se An English 112 Mr. Johnson November 23, 2015 The death penalty is a permitted by law deprivation of life as a criminal punishment. This issue have been of a great importance throughout centuries parallel to the existence of states. Massive wave of failures of the death penalty use occurred only in the 90th of the last century. In 1991, from the 180 countries present on the map the death penalty was abolished only in 60. Nevertheless, the official abolishment of the legislation referring to the execution and the end of its practical use in most countries differed over time, and in the majority of the most European countries this kind of punishment has not been carried out more than a century. In Western countries, there is no unanimous opinion on the appropriateness of the death penalty expense. Government, the legislature of the European countries took the decision to abolish the death penalty, without relying on public opinion and on the basis of civilizational and religious principles. The political cartoon displays how inefficient and bureaucratic government involved programs are, opposing the idea that a government should interfere with the economy in such a way. By taking a modern liberalist stance, the second source endorses government intervention within the economy and the use of tax dollars to help those who need economic support. And all the characteristics that one character has you see them in you. People mostly teenagers in my perspective and the ones that connect with the characters more because they are trying to find themselves. To find who they are and they may change characters they feel a connotation with and that is okay because they are find themselve and that is the process of connecting with a character. And not only that but also taking these characteristics and applying them to their lives forever. The three fictional characters that most represent my personality are Louise from Bob s Burgers because she lets her voice be heard in any shape or form, Dina from Girls Trip for her wild being but also for her protect sided for the ones she cares for, and Ponyo a Japanese character for her braveness from the unknown. • 8. The Message in the Music Essay The Message in the Music Music means many different things to many different people. To a listener, a song is sometimes for four simple minutes of entertainment, but sometimes it is much more. Sometimes, a song is a message from the artist. This is much the same way from the opposite end of the spectrum. An artists message can get so complex that it is completely lost on the listener. This essay is about song analysis. I will be analyzing two songs performed by the same artist but performed with two different bands. Although performed by different groups, the music is similar and so is the message. The second verse contains the line, You told us you werent afraid to die. Well then, so long. This line seems to be less criticizing than the first, but still is telling Jesus that after all this time of preaching how much he would sacrifice, he is now going to have to live up to his promise or to die for it. Another line in this verse is,Not all martyrs see divinity. But at least you tried. Here, the singer is almost being sympathetic with Him, saying his cause was a valiant effort and claiming him to be a martyr, someone who suffers for a cause or sacrifices his or her life for a great purpose. Although they say that He wont reach the higher state of divinity, they still acknowledge his effort. The third verse goes back to the original tone of the song by criticizing the Lord, this time by saying that he blamed all things that were evil on other people. This is expressed though the line, Ranting and pointing his finger. At everything but his heart. The part about his heart doesnt come off as an emotional or spiritual metaphor, but rather a literal accusation that He never turned the blame on Himself and always pointed His finger away. It is in the forth verse when the artist turns from speaking about Jesus in a third person to the first person. To me, this is more personal and angry than the first three verses. In these three lines, the artist claims that Jesus had told him something, maybe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This film is not a traditional romantic drama, but rather it shows the irony of love, which connects to a larger audience. Throughout this film, there are many unique camera shots, such as using a mirror to be dramatic, but mysterious. This can also be said for the long shot scenes in the apartment building that both of the main characters, Mrs. Chan and Mr. Chow live with their respected partners. Within the entire film, there are many scenes where a person is seen, but their face remains anonymous. There are countless shots that give off a mysterious tone through the mise en scène, from having the camera behind a dirty window, to only showing a person s back. As the sequence begins, in Shot 1, the audience sees what looks to be a lamp with trees on it in the foreground, while a buzzing noise is ringing in the background. As the audience, we have no knowledge as to what this symbolizes. Within a few seconds of the lamp being on screen, there is a cut to a new camera, Shot 2, showing a door with a small window in it. Through this window we see the back of a woman walking to open her door. Another camera swap, and the audience have now seen Mrs. Chan s face, with a dark background behind her. She is wearing a one piece outfit, which looks to be inspired by the 1960s as it is very colorful. There are stripes of red, blue, yellow, green, and even brown travelling all the way up to the top of her neck. Her hair looks to be very proper, and elegant looking for Hong Kong in 1962, when women were abiding the standards of couples and proper decorum of women, which was the era this movie was shot to look like. There is then a conversation between Mrs. Chan and another woman, whose face we do not see throughout the whole conversation. Shot 3 is one continuous shot throughout the entire almost forty second long conversation between Mrs. Chan and the mysterious woman. After the woman declined to chat with Mrs. Chan, there is another cut, Shot 4, where the camera is pointed towards Mrs. Chan, who is facing the door which was just previously shut in her face. High serum, and/or urine creatinine levels are indicative of kidney dysfunction. A colorimetric assay can be used to determine the creatinine concentration in the urine and serum samples from patients who are suspected to have kidney dysfunction. In the creatinine colorimetric assay the absorbance of the yellow creatinine picric complex, which is formed from the reaction between creatinine and picric acid, is read spectrophotometrically. Using spectrophotometric data one can determine the relationship between creatinine concentration and absorbance by fitting an equation to the creatinine and absorbance data. The equation sets a standard which can be used to determine the concentration of creatinine in solutions, such as blood and urine, which contain creatinine. The colorimetric assay is useful in so far as finding the concentration of creatinine. A notable provoker for this adversity was the dust storm known as the Dust Bowl , that lasted until about 1940. The Dust Bowl had consequences all over the United States. Besides causing the largest migration in American history when people began fleeing the midwest, it lead to the deaths of thousands of people and prompted soil conservation campaigns that called forth on the federal government. The Dust Bowl was an entirely avoidable tragedy rooted in greed and ignorance where innocent people paid the price. The tragedy began when people had started traveling across the United States looking for exceptional farming land. They found this promise land in the midwest with the extensive amount of grasslands throughout the area. After settling, farmers began grazing cattle and plowing the grassy areas in order to plant wheat. Cattle grazing and plowing spread throughout millions of more acres in the midwest. An innumerable amount of these areas were destroyed as a result of the overgrazing. When the grazing was decreased and the demand for wheat products rose, farmers begun to plow more instead.
