It wasn t until Mrs. Dunlap had us read a classic book that got me hooked. The book was called The
Outsiders, and it was unlike anything I had ever read. We dove into the book, exploring its deeper
meaning. She taught me to go to the heart of the story/poem/play and understand the author s purpose
for writing it, from Catching Fire to The Diary Of Anne Frank. It was then that I got inspired to write
my first play, Kingdom Rock.
Since Kingdom Rock was the first play that I had ever written, I felt that Mrs. Dunlap herself should
be the first to read it. After she had finished reading, she brought it back to me and whispered Good
job Kiana, I liked it. She liked it! It made me feel all bubbly inside to think that Mrs. Dunlap, the one
who had inspired me to write it, LIKED it. She encouraged me to write more, which inspired me to

The historic background of the Sunni Shia lies in the schism that occurred when the Islamic prophet
