T-Shirt Travels
T shirt Travels The film T shirt Travels takes us to the Sub Saharan African nation of Zambia, a
country who in the 1960 s was know for having a thriving, domestic textile industry. As of late, with
the countries immense amount of debt and the constant nagging of their creditors, such as the IMF,
Zambia s local economy has deteriorated and the textile industry has vanished. However, there is
another issue present that has also contributed to the decline of Zambia s economy: the second hand
clothing industry. All three of these factors; immense debt, hassling creditors, and the second hand
clothing industry, as seen in the film, are contributing to the crash of a once thriving Zambian
economy. Zambia was first noticed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Luka makes just enough money to buy another bundle of clothes and repeat the same process every
week. It is on going but Luka has to continue if he wants to provide for his family. It is uncertain what
the future holds for the country of Zambia and its inhabitants. One thing is for sure though, that is, that
if the current trends continue and Zambia keeps borrowing money form the IMF and keeps becoming
more in debt and their economy keeps becoming weaker and more unstable then the people of Zambia
will be selling second hand clothes for the rest to their lives. All of these factors are connected, so you
cannot change one without having an effect on the others. We, the United States are only trying to help
because we profit from them. We need to stop because our actions are only making a bad situation
worse. This once thriving and lively country needs to be set on the right path because as of right now
they are on the path to disaster, and it is because of Neoliberal policies enforced by the IMF, the
selling of second hand clothes, and the immense debt they are in that are contributing to the fall of

The Organizational Simulation Will Look Into The Three...
This paper looks into Synergic solutions Inc., a company that resells assembled computers. The
Organizational simulation will look into the three theories of change management. Using the three
theories, the paper will analyse any cross cultural issues that come with change. The paper will look at
three internal and external drivers that have propelled change in the organization. It will also look into
any factors that the head will need to look at in order to ensure change in the organization. Resistance
is one of the aftermaths of implementing change. The paper will look at what types of resistance that
the head of the company might face and the way this resistance may be handled. This will in turn look
into the leadership styles that may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

3. Kotter s eight Step Change model: this particular model was created by John Kotter, a professor at
Harvard University. This model had eight steps (Bourda, 2014).
These three theories will be important in analysing the organizational simulation of Synergic Solutions
Inc. Synergic solution Inc. is a multimillion company that deals with reselling assembled computers.
In this company, most of the employees have basic computer skills in assembling and troubleshooting
computers. There are a small number however, who are specialists in the field. Most of the employees
work in the sales and services departments.
The CEO of this company began to take steps into making the company better. Both external and
internal driving forces drove this change. The definition of these two terms needs to be looked at in
order to understand what they were. External factors are the factors that occur outside the scope of the
company or organization, for example, the economy. These factors are outside the influence of the
company (Lindbald, 2014). On the other hand, internal factors are factors that occur within the scope
of the organization and are within the control of the company.
INTERNAL FACTORS
In this company, the CEO, Harold Redd, was driven to implement some change because the
organization consisted of workers who only had basic skills in computer assembling and
troubleshooting. Given that the company had very few

What Is Your Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the U.S....
What is your evaluation of the effectiveness of the U.S. health care system in the context of delivery,
finance, management, and/or sustainability? What are the issues that prompted a need for health care
reform? Support your answer with a credible data reference. Do not use a reference already used by

complexity of illness and growing cost of health care, the government need a new approach to

The health care system must change to improve our nation s health and takes strong steps to address
the unsustainable growth of health care costs in America. We still have a long way to go before our
health system become effective. We still have population that do not have insurance, have difficulties
accessing their health care, or their needs are not met within the healthcare system. It is an investment
in prevention and wellness and increasing access to primary care physician. Here are four key reasons
why we need health care reform (Whelan Russell, 2010): We need to address adverse health industry
practices. Stopping discriminatory health insurance industry practices. It will also stop insurance
companies from charging people more because of these conditions and prevent them from dropping
your coverage when you get sick. Requiring more transparency and accountability. Make the
insurance companies more accountable by requiring federal oversight of premium increases and
public disclosure of the amounts they spend on administrative expenses. Eliminating waste, fraud, and
abuse. Rein in waste, fraud, and abuse by imposing tough new requirements to identify high risk
providers who have defrauded the American taxpayers and identify where there are conflicts of
interest. Provide better health insurance coverage

Cultural Enlightenment And The Republic Of The Philippines

For hundreds of years the Republic of The Philippines has had a long and prosperous history. For one
to truly analyze the culture of the Philippines, one would have to look at the components of what
makes their culture. The Philippines has a rich and illustrious culture which involves language,
integration of Spanish and American influences, religion, cuisine, and a booming economy. Although
the Republic of the Philippines has only had nation status since 1946, the small island nation has been
a great military strategic stronghold for not only the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is estimated that about 80 percent of Filipinos are Christian, most of which are Catholic, and about
11 percent being Islamic, and the rest of the 9 percent practice another kind of religion (Williams,
2015). The predominate religion in the Philippines is Roman Catholic due to the occupation of the
Spanish for roughly three decades. It is estimated that approximately 85 percent of Filipinos who are
Christians are Roman Catholic. (Balinski, 2015). This staggering static makes the Philippines the only
Christian nation in Asia (Balinski, 2015). Although the United States established freedom of religion
in the Philippines when it acquired it, many of the citizens chose to continue to practice Catholicism.
Many state holidays cater to the catholic belief, such as All Saints Day, Christmas, Easter, etc. Despite
the fact that many things revolve around the Roman Catholic religion, many other groups of religions
seem to blend into the culture and life in this Asian Pacific Island nation.
The Republic of the Philippines has a blend of different languages. Starting of course with English and
Spanish being the official languages, due to the occupation by both America and Spain. Apart from
those two languages, there are approximately 175 different languages spoken in the Philippines
(Williams, 2015). Over one million people still use one of thirteen indigenous languages spoken in the

The Pros And Cons Of Migration To Tucson
We ve finally made the move to Tucson and are getting ready to move into new office space in the
next few weeks. I thought it would be interesting to share with some of my readers what we have
discovered about Tucson as a place for small business and emerging technology businesses. First, it s
pretty well known nationally that the city of Tucson, and to some degree Pima County is not very
embracing and welcoming when it comes to small business and technology businesses. There are a
few exceptions to this and I want to point two of these at the very beginning. Thryve and StartUp
Tucson are very hands on and welcoming. These folks have a plan and great ideas. They deserve a lot
of support. The reputation of Tucson for being not business friendly is well known. There are lots of
folks who have left the Tucson area and migrated back east. They are quick to talk about the raw
beauty of Southern Arizona and also talk about how terrible the business climate is in the area. Much
of the blame seems to be around a very welfare centric government, higher than average union
memberships, highest sales taxes and property taxes in the state of Arizona and an alarming lack of
good leadership. It s a common refrain among the folks I have met here who have migrated to the
Tucson area that you either bring your job or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

education. Grand Canyon University was very interested in building a major campus in Tucson. GCU

positions. However, the city council torpedoed this, in large part by council member Regina Romero.

D G Gang Rape Advert
Television commercials or print ads are often developed that rely on unusual creative tactics and have
very little relevance to the product or service being advertised. Creative personnel in agencies defend
the use of these ads by noting that they are novel and provide a way to break through the high level of
clutter on television and in magazines. Evaluate the pros and cons of this argument. Find an example
of a television commercial or print ad that takes an unusual creative approach and discuss whether you
feel it is effective or ineffective.

An affective IMC strategy implies thorough understanding of their customers and the identification of
the market (demographic) since a product cannot broadly apply to all consumers. D G are targeting
young men teenagers, middle and upper class professionals, metrosexual couples and people that are
employed in artistic and innovative industries such as interior designers.
Why should these categories buy D G products? What is the perceived value customers gain when
purchasing D G products? Marketers are aware that some teenagers and young men find it difficult to
socialize with women. This advert is informing this category that with D G products socializing with
women becomes an easy task (Women will fall for you!).
The black box at the background and the white opening symbolize their liberal and rebellious attitude.
They are challenging the viewers to think outside the box (lateral thinking black box). They are
provoking the viewer to reflect and dig deeper, to search for the connotative meanings behind the rape
scene. The background portraying the clouds gives the notion of paradise and transmits the feeling
that the woman is giving consent. In other words they are saying that this is not rape but a heavenly
experience. This idea might appeal to metrosexual couples. D G is making a statement that they cater
for people who are open minded (white opening).
One might argue that the idea behind using these images

I realized that nowhere in my practice did I provide diagnostic assessments to help me analyze
specific areas of success or struggle pertaining to learning objectives within the course. This module
showed me how to identify these areas that may need additional support or enrichment. I learned how
to collect and compile much more informative data on student knowledge in these areas, and how to
use these measures to help improve student learning.
My first goal became to develop and acquire a bank of formative assessments and diagnostic questions
to better determine each student s prior knowledge of a learning objective and, more importantly, their
misunderstandings or misconceptions of that particular learning objective. I started by ... Show more

Students that extend and apply ideas inappropriately elsewhere are overgeneralizing. Students that
have difficulty distinguishing between two concepts, or create hybrids of concepts, have partial
conceptions. Finally, students that have misinterpreted and internalized prior content have conceptual
misunderstandings. If an educator can identify the type of misconception, they can create better
tailored instruction.
In order to uncover the misconceptions my students had prior to teaching a new learning target, I
decided to administer short, diagnostic probes that put emphasis on explanations of their thinking and
reasoning (in place of an answer only response). I stressed that this was not graded, instead meant to
help me understand their thinking so I could plan, design, and provide instruction that would be much
more responsive to their needs. This was the first time I administered a formative assessment prior to a
lesson.
The first learning target probe (p 135) focused on uncovering any misconceptions prior to teaching
theorems about lines, angles, and triangles, such as vertical angles are congruent, measures of interior
angles of a triangle sum to 180, and the relationships between the interior and exterior angles of a
triangle. Specifically, I was looking to see if they recognized congruent and supplementary angle
relationships based on their logical reasoning of properties, or

Cartoon Violence
Cartoons on a television are glue to children. Children will spend hours a day watching their favorite
cartoons, such as SpongeBob SquarePants or Adventure Time. Unfortunately, the content on these
shows, and several others, can harm children. Directly, cartoons can affect how children think and act;
additionally, this leads to the indirect effect of children physically hurting one another. Children daily
see hundreds of violent acts on television. Most parents notice the obvious acts of gore and try to
avoid those types of shows; however, what parents do not realize is that cartoons contain just as much,
if not more, violence per episode. When parents see shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants, for
example, they seem more comical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the children that do become used to the violence do not realize how much they are
absorbing, and are thus more likely to keep watching and increase the damage already inflicted onto
their minds. Additionally, younger children who watch violent cartoons tend to believe they can mimic
what is on screen. A news story in China where children attempted to mimic their favorite cartoon
with near fatal consequences reads:
The Li brothers tragedy began one fine April afternoon with a bit of play acting. When 10 year old
Shun Shun ran into eight year old Li Haoran and his little brother Li Hao, four, just outside of their
village of Mawang, near Lianyungang in Jiangsu province, the three friends decided to play a game.
They would act out the big wolf roasting the lamb an idea the boys later said they got from the popular
children s television series Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf. Taking the role of wolf, Shun Shun used
some scrap cloth he found nearby to tie the two brothers to a tree. After piling some dried leaves
around their feet, he set it alight. Within minutes, strong gusts of wind blew the fire out of control. The
terrified Shun Shun ran away, leaving the Li boys screaming for help. A passing villager heard their
cries and rushed to help. But by the time flames were put out, the brothers were severely burned. The
boys were rushed to the county hospital and transferred on the same night to a city hospital, which had
better facilities. For a month, it

Barbara Ehrenreich Pros And Cons
Does the United States really support its citizens and allow them to prosper? In Barbara Ehrenreich s
book Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America, Ehrenreich investigates this question by
living as a low wage worker for three months in cities around the United States. Her experiences teach
her that as her jobs change, so does her place in society. Nickel and Dimed effectively proves
American society does not support the poor; instead, it decreases low wage workers mobilities and
forces them to live lives that are focused only on their jobs. Through her journey, Ehrenreich learns
that because she works unskilled labor, her place in society changes. The freedoms she has taken for
granted while living in the upper middle class have disappeared; her new $7 an hour paycheck
severely limits where she can go and with whom she interacts. Ehrenreich s entire world becomes
about securing employment and earning enough to survive. Where she lives determines where she
works; while there may be cheaper housing in the city, it is on the outskirts of town and far from any
available work. As a whole, Ehrenreich s world shrinks to a range of a few dozen miles: ... Show more

Problems In English Oral Communication
English oral communicative ability According to Byrne (1986), oral communication is the process
between speakers and listeners. The speakers use their productive skill to change their thought into
appropriate language, and then the listeners use receptive skill to interpret the message from the
speakers. In English communication, the speakers need communicative competence which is the
ability of using or interpreting languages in appropriate way during the conversation. In other word,
the speakers need to know the purpose of their speaking and they have to use the right language to talk
with the right person (Hymes, 1981). According to Common European Framework (2001), the
communicative competence consists of three elements including linguistic competence, sociolinguistic
competence, and pragmatic competence. Revell (1979) also gave an opinion about communication,

Inhibition The first problem in English speaking is inhibition. Many students are often inhibited when
they try to speak English. According to Littlewood (2007), foreign language classroom can cause
inhibition and anxiety easily. The students are often worried about making mistakes, fearful of
criticism or embarrassment. 2. Lack of topical knowledge Rivers (1968) believes that sometimes the
students cannot express themselves because the teachers push them to speak in the topic that is not
suitable for them. They might have no idea how to use the grammar correctly, which vocabulary to
use, or what to say about the topic that teacher asks them to answer. 3. Low participation In a large
class, there is not enough time for every student to speak. Some students hardly or never participate in
any oral practice because there are too many students in the class. They can only listen what the others
say, but do not have an opportunity to express themselves. 4. Mother tongue

Ford Edge Comparison
Have you ever wanted to know which was better a classic cars or the cars today we have today? Well
you can find out because I am comparing a 1967 Chevy Impala and a Ford Edge. I ll be comparing
what is different about the. I ll also be seeing what is the same about them. The first thing I am
comparing is the technology the cars have. The Chevy Impala doesn t really have that much
technology had cars today. It has a radio and a cassette player for cassette tapes. It doesn t have all the
stuff todays cars have. The Ford Edge had a radio like the Impala, but you can play cd s in the Edge. It
also has a USB port so you can charge your phone and play music from it in the car. It had a touch
screen radio and seat warmers in the front seats. The window are different in each of them too. In the
Impala it s a crank window so you have to crank it up. The Edge had automatic window so you just
have to press a button. The Ford Edge does have a lot more technology in it than the Chevy Impala.
The second thing we are comparing it the seats and what the can do. In the Impala the seats don t have
seat warms and you can t move the driver s seat by itself. The whole front seat in connected so if you
have to move the front seat up then the whole seat has to move up. The seats don t lean back like in
today s cars. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

it is a modern day car. You can buy the Edge at pretty much any car dealership. They cost the normal
price at which a car usually cost so you won t be spending as much money as you would if you bought
the Chevy Impala. The Chevy Impala is a rare car so the Ford Edge is much easier to buy and

First Transcontinental Railroad Research Paper
The first transcontinental Railroad is being called one of the best civil engineering marvels of 19th
century.
We all know that Necessity is the mother of Invention. All was started in 1849, when gold was
discovered in California. After that many people moved to California searching for new opportunities.
The overland journey through plains, mountains, rivers and deserts was extremely hard and
dangerous. Many people choose to travel by sea and go around Cape Horn at the tip of South America
for six month journey rather than go through Isthmus of Panama and risk their life with yellow fever
and other diseases. At that time, Congress also wanted to protect gold and goods which was flowing
between east and west. During that era, America had a local rail network which connected many cities
on east coast. These all necessities had played main part in producing the idea of the first
transcontinental railroad.
In 1862, President Abraham Lincoln signed the bill and the Pacific Railroad Act became the law,
which gave the contract to the Central Pacific (CP) and the Union Pacific (UP) Companies, and

Under The Cope Of Heaven Analysis
Patricia Bonomi s Under the Cope of Heaven: Religion, Society, and Politics in Colonial America was
not only well written, but also a very interesting read. She kept the writing style easy to comprehend,
but not excessively simple while keeping a good grasp on the subject at hand. Bonomi gives us her
view on not only religious argumentation, but also the religious events that kindled the flames of the
American Revolution. She discredits the past historiography of the eighteenth century, in which there
was a theorized religious decline, placing a rationalist century between the seventeenth century ruled
by Puritans and the eighteenth century that revolved around Revivalists, which wouldn t make sense.

A. E Housman s To An Athlete Dying Young
The poem To an Athlete Dying Young is about, as you can guess, the passing of a young athlete. A.E
Housman, the author, starts the poem off with remembering when the athlete had a huge victory at a
town race and how all the people of the town were applauding him. Not too long after we find out that
the athlete has passed. When this poem was published South Africa was fighting in the second Boer
war. A.E Housman was very big on soldiers being prepared before going to war. Unfortunately during
the second Boer war they weren t. It had been said that the solider weren t physically or mentally
prepared for the war. Throughout this poem you can see how he reflected his feeling about the Boer
war. All through the poem A.E Housman uses several different literary devices such as imagery,
rhyme, and mood to help the reader comprehend the poem better and have visual images of what s
going on in their head. A.E Housman main theme that I interpreted was that greatness does not last

poem is that it lets the reader know what is coming next. From the title we knew that the athlete was
going to die, however with the rhyming in this poem we can kind of see how it happens and how
everyone is affected by it. Overall the rhyming used in this poem helps form the imagery in the poem
and flow better. I feel that if Housman didn t use the rhyme scheme he did that it wouldn t make much
sense. This one fit perfectly for this poem because of the emphasis it has on certain

Computer Based Systems And Its Effects On The Workplace
Introduction The use of a timeclock to monitor only select employees negatively impacts the
workplace, as it creates an environment that lacks trust and causes morale to plummet. Even so, many
good intentioned managers implement timeclocks as a way to manage some, or all employees,
believing this will be a way to keep employees honest as well as become a money saving endeavor.
What they fail to realize is that it can actually cost the company in several ways; it may lead to
financial loss for the company in unearned wages and can be the cause of losing quality employees.
Punching a timeclock is not a new idea. The original Bundy timeclock was patented in 1890 by
Willard Le Grand Bundy in Auburn, New York. Today, computer based systems are used in
conjunction with magnetic stripe cards, barcodes, RFID (radio frequency identification) chips, and
even biometric scans to monitor the coming and goings of employees. (Wikipedia, 2015) The clocks
are meant to encourage promptness and decrease unwarranted overtime, but some employees feel
singled out and that they are being punished for the indiscretions of others. Dee Haverrn recently
posted an online discussion about being made to clock in as a Registered Nurse, I resent being treated
like a factory worker. (Haverrn, 2007) Many HR experts and employees agree that salaried exempt
employees may feel micro managed and discouraged when made to punch a timeclock. Applying

Originally known as the Fédération Internationale de Basket ball Amateur (hence FIBA), in 1989 it

The Qin Dynasty And The Chinese Empire Essay
Before the Qin Dynasty, China was composed of a network of city states that were loyal to the
Chinese king. The seven Warring States had their own institutions that were run by aristocrats. The
Qin Dynasty took initiative to expand their territory and to unite the Chinese empire together. Through
their ruthless military techniques the Qin Dynasty was able to conquer the city states in China. The
Qin Dynasty ruled from 221 BCE 206 BCE; during their regime, Emperor Qin s primary goal was to
unify the Chinese people. Even though the Qin Dynasty was a short lived empire, it played a major
role in unifying the Chinese empire and provided a foundation for succeeding regimes through a
centralized government, standardized systems, and through infrastructure. Even though the Qin
Dynasty deprived the civilization of education, it created a strong bureaucratic system that limited
feudal power and developed a cooperative population. Each Warring state followed a different
political system, before it was conquered by Qin. The First Emperor, Qin Shi Huang, felt it was
necessary to legitimize his power to unify the city states and for a cooperative population. In the Qin
Dynasty, the institution of emperor had a special meaning in China as the repository of imperial
legitimacy (Feng 2013, 249). In other words, the first emperor was given the title of being a mythical
ruler that had godly powers and is the righteous leader of the empire based on the Mandate of Heaven

Vegas RUNNING HEAD: Case Study 3 PUA 440 2 Defining the Issue There are parts of the country
that are more prone to having disasters happen in them than in other parts. For example, the terrorist
attacks in 2001 happened in a heavily populated area where it would affect the most people. The same
can be said for natural disasters. There is a section of the U.S. literally nicknamed Tornado Alley in the
Midwest due to its likelihood over other parts to be hit with tornadoes. Knowing these statistics about
our country, one would think that a city such as New Orleans or states such as Louisiana or

background in natural disaster management. New experiences paired with the team already in place
within FEMA may be just the team needed to have more diverse and foreseeing management than that
of pre Katrina (Stephens et al., 2007 p. 250). Another alternative to being more prepared both
structurally and proactively would be the reconstruction of cities under major threat to the attack of
natural disasters. Just as Californian government takes into account structures or areas of land that
would be more or less compatible with society if a natural disaster such as an earthquake were to
occur; the same could be said for hurricane warning states. Instead of the Superdome being an
ultimate fallback at best for a safe haven for hurricane conditions, shelters that are hurricane sound
should be built through areas such as New Orleans. Building these structures may be expensive, but as

Antigone Relationship Between Creon And Haemon
In the play Antigone by Sophocles Haemon acts as a foil character to Creon. In the play Antigone tries
to bury her brother even though she knows that it was against the rules. In the play it shows that
Antigone would do anything for her brother. After a while Creon found out that Antigone had buried
her brother s body and so Creon wanted to punish her since it was against the rules. Creon s
punishment for Antigone was by locking her in a cage in which then she committed suicide and killed
herself. Creon is a king but also a relative of Antigone. Creon is a very powerful man but also has very
strict rules and he believes everyone should follow them. Haemon acts as a foil character to Creon by

No one in the city obeys him because of his personality and his rules. Creon becoming a tragic hero all
states of to him not listening to what anyone has to say. He believed he was better than the gods and
everyone in the city. Creon made a law that the body of Antigone should be let for the birds and dogs
to eat. When he made that law no one agreed with him which then he started going threw the phase of
being a tragic hero. Should I rule this land for myself or for others (Sophocles 748). This quote shows
how Creon doesn t care about anyone else but him. This city does not belong to one man (Sophocles
749). In this quote Haemon is trying to tell Creon that this city isn t all about him and that Creon needs
to realize that he has to include the whole city to rule. In the play Antigone it really shows how self
centered and stubborn Creon is. There she can pray to Hades, the only god she worships, and perhaps
will find a way not to die or learn.though too late for her that it is excessive to work to love the dead
(Sophocles 792 795). This quote explains how careless Creon is and how he is heartless. To move on
to the main reason of Creon s downfall was when Teiresias comes and talk to Creon to not to kill
Antigone because then everyone else will due but Creon did not listen to him. Then when Creon is

Boeing 7E7 Case Study Essay
Executive Summary A key factor in determining a project s viability is its cost of capital [WACC].
The estimation of Boeing s WACC must be consistent with the overall valuation approach and the
definition of cash flows to be discounted. Note that this process is a forward looking focus and is
laden with uncertainty. It is how the assumptions are modeled that many costly mistakes can be made.
While finding a rate of return for an individual project, it is important to remember that WACC is only
appropriate for an individual project. The many factors affecting WACC are: general economic
conditions, market conditions, the firm s operating and financial decisions, amount of financing,
business risk, constant financial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The interest coverage ratio for 2002 was 5.30 and the current ratio was 0.85 . See also the Appendices
for other relevant Boeing statistics. Analysis of Boeing s 7E7 Project It is suggested that the travel
industry and the aerospace and defense industry as a whole will continue to grow on the basis of the
strong demand emanating from domestic demand as well as globalization. This may give a major
boost to the demand for 7E7s as the airlines are already concerned about high fuel costs intensifying
out of increased demands from emerging economies like India and China and reduced production.
Better design modifications is going to be a major strength for the 7E7 as Boeing is betting on the
future of small mid size airplanes which can fly short as well as long distances with its fuel efficient
engines. From an investment perspective, with interest rates at it s lowest in decades, with 911 behind
us, and barring a major pandemic such as SARS, the timing seems right for Boeing to pursue this
endeavor. Nevertheless, as Boeing gears up for its all new 7E7 airliner, arch rival Airbus may already
be putting 7E7 orders at risk by talking to airlines about a similar plane. Airbus is viewed a having
advanced technologies coupled with a conglomerate backing and Boeing has not come up with any

Stereotypes In The Real World
Stereotypes are all around us. Wherever one goes there will be stereotypes for people, groups, or even
animals. For example, pit bulls are known to be vicious dogs, even though there are many pit bulls
that are nice and friendly. These stereotypes can cloud good people s judgement of others just solely
based on appearance. This prejudgment of a person can hurt them various ways in the real world such
as applying for a job. A man that wants to be a nurse can hurt his manliness because nurses are thought
to be a job for women only. The gender stereotypes in this world are not making anything better, just
worse. In order to get one step closer to gender equality we as a society need to eliminate stereotypes
as a whole. Now, some may say that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of these goofy dads yet it is. If you take a look at older TV shows compared to new ones you ll notice
one big difference in the way dads are portrayed. In the old shows, dads were depicted as old, stern,
classy men. But nowadays, dads are all goofy and dumb. Could this change be related to the new

The Causes Of Youth Sports
Nine out of Ten kids say the reason they play youth sports to have fun. On another note 80% of
children drop out of youth sports by the age of 12 (Reed). Some of the most common reasons children
drop out of youth sports can range from something as simple as not having fun anymore to something
as complex to feeling as if the parent/coach is being unfair to them, like constantly getting judged after
every game. Parents can avoid this all by supporting, not over bearing, Nays, and making sure the
child is having fun and happy. The overall outcome of youth sports should be for the child to find
something they enjoy and to have fun doing it. Most kids when they are young try various sports and
activities to see what they enjoy and parents comments or overbearing should not be the reason why
the child decides to not give the sport a shot or finish out the season. Which is why parents
involvement in youth sports is vital to a child s development and behavior. One reason why parents
are a vital part about Youth Sports is for there support.
Most youth athletic programs depend on parent volunteers to keep the program running. Parents
provide an essential support system for athletes, their involvement may be as simple as transportation
to games and practices to games, and supporting the child on the sidelines (Mackenzie). Parents also
support the organization through all the fundraising and money they put into it or cutting orange slices
for halftime or making sure they have

The Study of king Lear lacks in the theme s of leadership and personal relationship. In the beginning
of the book, it seems to the reader, as if King Lear has a good relationship with his daughters and his
trusting friend, Kent. But as the reader goes further into the book, they realize that his personal
relationship with his daughters is lacking. King Lear first establishes this by, asking his daughters how
much they love him Tell me, my daughters, which of you shall we say doth love us most? (1.1.52)

In my opinion, Human nature is something that everyone talks about but no one can define precisely.
Our thoughts, feelings, and behavior are produced not only by our individual experiences and
environment in our own lifetime but also by what happened to our ancestors years ago. Also, our
thoughts, feelings, and behavior are shared, to a large extent, by all men or women, despite seemingly
large cultural differences which causes hate, fights, and wars. In King Lear, he is treated very horrible
by his two daughters Goneril and Regan. They both neglect him and plot his death, which shows how
human nature works. The more power and money you have, the more you want, greed takes over. For
two daughters to plot their fathers death is brutal, I pray you, father, being weak, seem so (2.4.196).

Essay about Parenting Styles
Parenting styles have been grouped into three different categories: authoritarian, permissive, and
authoritative. The authoritarian approach to parenting provides children with a clear set of rules which
have to be followed without question or reason, while permissive parents constantly are giving into
their child s every wish. The authoritative parenting style gives children rules along with explanations
for those rules, and reinforces good behavior. Therefore parents should make sure the way they parent
their children will be positive, and not negatively affect their children now or in their children s future.
According to Consistent Parenting Advice.com the authoritarian parenting style has a Do as I say, not

Children raised by permissive parents usually have serious behavior problems due to the lack of
discipline. On the other hand Children from permissive homes...have good self esteem and better
social skills, than that of children raised in an authoritarian household. (Iannelli, 2004). The
authoritative parenting style is the In between, of both the authoritarian and permissive parenting
styles, and has a Give and take approach. Authoritative parents are very involved in their children s
lives: children help around the home and in decision making processes, and homework is supervised.
This approach to parenting raises children who are responsible, well behaved in school, have a high
self esteem, and good problem solving skills along with decision making skills. The authoritative
approach to parenting has very positive effects on children s lives presently, and in the future.
(Marsiglia, C.,Walczyk, J., Buboltz, W., Ross, D. 2007). Though the three different parenting styles
have been grouped, categorized, and labeled by professional doctors, psychiatrists, and sociologists
these styles were created by parents, and for the most part with children s best interest in mind which
is one of the main similarities. The parent does not choose a parenting style the parenting style
chooses the parent. However, knowledge of the parenting styles and the effects of all three will help
parents decide how they can raise their children in a way that is most

Tension And Suspense In Jon Krakauer s Into Thin Air

Cold, tired, desperate for supplemental oxygen. Those were the words most habitually used in terms

Jon Krakauer s Into Thin Air has shown me different aspects of survival, differentiating from the ones

Krakauer s story has meant to me, comes a time post epilogue to his book to think and reflect on a

Examine the effectiveness of Law Reform in relation to Native Title and one contemporary issue.
Various aspects of law reform prove to be ineffective whilst certain aspects prove to be effective. Law

The Importance Of Arranged Marriage
Arranged a they would call it but forced in many ways. An arranged marriage is a marriage that is
established before a lengthy relationship. Marriages such as this one is not a common thing in the

  • 2. T-Shirt Travels T shirt Travels The film T shirt Travels takes us to the Sub Saharan African nation of Zambia, a country who in the 1960 s was know for having a thriving, domestic textile industry. As of late, with the countries immense amount of debt and the constant nagging of their creditors, such as the IMF, Zambia s local economy has deteriorated and the textile industry has vanished. However, there is another issue present that has also contributed to the decline of Zambia s economy: the second hand clothing industry. All three of these factors; immense debt, hassling creditors, and the second hand clothing industry, as seen in the film, are contributing to the crash of a once thriving Zambian economy. Zambia was first noticed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Luka makes just enough money to buy another bundle of clothes and repeat the same process every week. It is on going but Luka has to continue if he wants to provide for his family. It is uncertain what the future holds for the country of Zambia and its inhabitants. One thing is for sure though, that is, that if the current trends continue and Zambia keeps borrowing money form the IMF and keeps becoming more in debt and their economy keeps becoming weaker and more unstable then the people of Zambia will be selling second hand clothes for the rest to their lives. All of these factors are connected, so you cannot change one without having an effect on the others. We, the United States are only trying to help because we profit from them. We need to stop because our actions are only making a bad situation worse. This once thriving and lively country needs to be set on the right path because as of right now they are on the path to disaster, and it is because of Neoliberal policies enforced by the IMF, the selling of second hand clothes, and the immense debt they are in that are contributing to the fall of their ... These three theories will be important in analysing the organizational simulation of Synergic Solutions Inc. Synergic solution Inc. is a multimillion company that deals with reselling assembled computers. Most of the employees work in the sales and services departments. The CEO of this company began to take steps into making the company better. Both external and internal driving forces drove this change. The definition of these two terms needs to be looked at in order to understand what they were. External factors are the factors that occur outside the scope of the company or organization, for example, the economy. These factors are outside the influence of the company (Lindbald, 2014). On the other hand, internal factors are factors that occur within the scope of the organization and are within the control of the company. What is your evaluation of the effectiveness of the U.S. health care system in the context of delivery, finance, management, and/or sustainability? What are the issues that prompted a need for health care reform? Support your answer with a credible data reference. Do not use a reference already used by another student. It is an investment in prevention and wellness and increasing access to primary care physician. Here are four key reasons why we need health care reform (Whelan Russell, 2010): We need to address adverse health industry practices. Stopping discriminatory health insurance industry practices. It will also stop insurance companies from charging people more because of these conditions and prevent them from dropping your coverage when you get sick. Requiring more transparency and accountability. Make the insurance companies more accountable by requiring federal oversight of premium increases and public disclosure of the amounts they spend on administrative expenses. Cultural enlightenment of The Republic of The Philippines. For hundreds of years the Republic of The Philippines has had a long and prosperous history. For one to truly analyze the culture of the Philippines, one would have to look at the components of what makes their culture. The Philippines has a rich and illustrious culture which involves language, integration of Spanish and American influences, religion, cuisine, and a booming economy. It is estimated that about 80 percent of Filipinos are Christian, most of which are Catholic, and about 11 percent being Islamic, and the rest of the 9 percent practice another kind of religion (Williams, 2015). The predominate religion in the Philippines is Roman Catholic due to the occupation of the Spanish for roughly three decades. It is estimated that approximately 85 percent of Filipinos who are Christians are Roman Catholic. (Balinski, 2015). This staggering static makes the Philippines the only Christian nation in Asia (Balinski, 2015). Although the United States established freedom of religion in the Philippines when it acquired it, many of the citizens chose to continue to practice Catholicism. Many state holidays cater to the catholic belief, such as All Saints Day, Christmas, Easter, etc. Despite the fact that many things revolve around the Roman Catholic religion, many other groups of religions seem to blend into the culture and life in this Asian Pacific Island nation. The Republic of the Philippines has a blend of different languages. Starting of course with English and Spanish being the official languages, due to the occupation by both America and Spain. I thought it would be interesting to share with some of my readers what we have discovered about Tucson as a place for small business and emerging technology businesses. First, it s pretty well known nationally that the city of Tucson, and to some degree Pima County is not very embracing and welcoming when it comes to small business and technology businesses. There are a few exceptions to this and I want to point two of these at the very beginning. Thryve and StartUp Tucson are very hands on and welcoming. These folks have a plan and great ideas. They deserve a lot of support. The reputation of Tucson for being not business friendly is well known. There are lots of folks who have left the Tucson area and migrated back east. They are quick to talk about the raw beauty of Southern Arizona and also talk about how terrible the business climate is in the area. Much of the blame seems to be around a very welfare centric government, higher than average union memberships, highest sales taxes and property taxes in the state of Arizona and an alarming lack of good leadership. It s a common refrain among the folks I have met here who have migrated to the Tucson area that you either bring your job or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Evaluate the pros and cons of this argument. Find an example of a television commercial or print ad that takes an unusual creative approach and discuss whether you feel it is effective or ineffective. Suicidal Advertising or not? An affective IMC strategy implies thorough understanding of their customers and the identification of the market (demographic) since a product cannot broadly apply to all consumers. D G are targeting young men teenagers, middle and upper class professionals, metrosexual couples and people that are employed in artistic and innovative industries such as interior designers. Why should these categories buy D G products? What is the perceived value customers gain when purchasing D G products? Marketers are aware that some teenagers and young men find it difficult to socialize with women. This advert is informing this category that with D G products socializing with women becomes an easy task (Women will fall for you!). The black box at the background and the white opening symbolize their liberal and rebellious attitude. They are challenging the viewers to think outside the box (lateral thinking black box). They are provoking the viewer to reflect and dig deeper, to search for the connotative meanings behind the rape scene. The background portraying the clouds gives the notion of paradise and transmits the feeling that the woman is giving consent. In other words they are saying that this is not rape but a heavenly experience. This idea might appeal to metrosexual couples. I realized that nowhere in my practice did I provide diagnostic assessments to help me analyze specific areas of success or struggle pertaining to learning objectives within the course. This module showed me how to identify these areas that may need additional support or enrichment. I learned how to collect and compile much more informative data on student knowledge in these areas, and how to use these measures to help improve student learning. My first goal became to develop and acquire a bank of formative assessments and diagnostic questions to better determine each student s prior knowledge of a learning objective and, more importantly, their misunderstandings or misconceptions of that particular learning objective. Students that have difficulty distinguishing between two concepts, or create hybrids of concepts, have partial conceptions. Finally, students that have misinterpreted and internalized prior content have conceptual misunderstandings. If an educator can identify the type of misconception, they can create better tailored instruction. In order to uncover the misconceptions my students had prior to teaching a new learning target, I decided to administer short, diagnostic probes that put emphasis on explanations of their thinking and reasoning (in place of an answer only response). I stressed that this was not graded, instead meant to help me understand their thinking so I could plan, design, and provide instruction that would be much more responsive to their needs. This was the first time I administered a formative assessment prior to a lesson. The first learning target probe (p 135) focused on uncovering any misconceptions prior to teaching theorems about lines, angles, and triangles, such as vertical angles are congruent, measures of interior angles of a triangle sum to 180, and the relationships between the interior and exterior angles of a triangle. Unfortunately, the content on these shows, and several others, can harm children. Directly, cartoons can affect how children think and act; additionally, this leads to the indirect effect of children physically hurting one another. Children daily see hundreds of violent acts on television. A news story in China where children attempted to mimic their favorite cartoon with near fatal consequences reads: The Li brothers tragedy began one fine April afternoon with a bit of play acting. When 10 year old Shun Shun ran into eight year old Li Haoran and his little brother Li Hao, four, just outside of their village of Mawang, near Lianyungang in Jiangsu province, the three friends decided to play a game. Taking the role of wolf, Shun Shun used some scrap cloth he found nearby to tie the two brothers to a tree. After piling some dried leaves around their feet, he set it alight. Within minutes, strong gusts of wind blew the fire out of control. The terrified Shun Shun ran away, leaving the Li boys screaming for help. A passing villager heard their cries and rushed to help. But by the time flames were put out, the brothers were severely burned. The boys were rushed to the county hospital and transferred on the same night to a city hospital, which had better facilities. • 12. Barbara Ehrenreich Pros And Cons Does the United States really support its citizens and allow them to prosper? In Barbara Ehrenreich s book Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America, Ehrenreich investigates this question by living as a low wage worker for three months in cities around the United States. Her experiences teach her that as her jobs change, so does her place in society. Nickel and Dimed effectively proves American society does not support the poor; instead, it decreases low wage workers mobilities and forces them to live lives that are focused only on their jobs. Through her journey, Ehrenreich learns that because she works unskilled labor, her place in society changes. The freedoms she has taken for granted while living in the upper middle class have disappeared; her new $7 an hour paycheck severely limits where she can go and with whom she interacts. Ehrenreich s entire world becomes about securing employment and earning enough to survive. Where she lives determines where she works; while there may be cheaper housing in the city, it is on the outskirts of town and far from any available work. We all know that Necessity is the mother of Invention. All was started in 1849, when gold was discovered in California. After that many people moved to California searching for new opportunities. The overland journey through plains, mountains, rivers and deserts was extremely hard and dangerous. Many people choose to travel by sea and go around Cape Horn at the tip of South America for six month journey rather than go through Isthmus of Panama and risk their life with yellow fever and other diseases. At that time, Congress also wanted to protect gold and goods which was flowing between east and west. During that era, America had a local rail network which connected many cities on east coast. These all necessities had played main part in producing the idea of the first transcontinental railroad. Computer Based Systems And Its Effects On The Workplace Introduction The use of a timeclock to monitor only select employees negatively impacts the workplace, as it creates an environment that lacks trust and causes morale to plummet. Even so, many good intentioned managers implement timeclocks as a way to manage some, or all employees, believing this will be a way to keep employees honest as well as become a money saving endeavor. What they fail to realize is that it can actually cost the company in several ways; it may lead to financial loss for the company in unearned wages and can be the cause of losing quality employees. Punching a timeclock is not a new idea. The original Bundy timeclock was patented in 1890 by Willard Le Grand Bundy in Auburn, New York. Today, computer based systems are used in conjunction with magnetic stripe cards, barcodes, RFID (radio frequency identification) chips, and even biometric scans to monitor the coming and goings of employees.
