HOW TO paragraphs
They are used to tell the reader HOWTO do
or to make something.
For how to make ice-cream or how to change
your car plugs.

Four Keys to write a clear How
to paragraph
The topic sentence name the topic and say
the
.paragraph will give instruction about it:
If you follow these steps you can change your
car plugs easily.
You can make a delicious ice-cream if you
follow the following steps.
Divide your instruction into
series of steps
You can use listing order or time order
signals.
First, do this…
Next, do that
In addition, do this…
Also, do that
Explain each step one by one
Add milk or cream.The taste of milk will add
richness to your ice-cream.
Use transition signals to
introduce each new step.

The topic sentences for HOW TO
paragraphs.
Remember!! TheTopic sentence has two
parts
The topic and the controlling idea
The topic part here name the topic
The controlling idea shows that the reader
will learn how to do or to make something
(the topic)

  • 2. HOW TO paragraphs They are used to tell the reader HOWTO do or to make something. For how to make ice-cream or how to change your car plugs. 
  • 3. Four Keys to write a clear How to paragraph The topic sentence name the topic and say the .paragraph will give instruction about it: If you follow these steps you can change your car plugs easily. You can make a delicious ice-cream if you follow the following steps.
  • 4. Divide your instruction into series of steps You can use listing order or time order signals. First, do this… Next, do that In addition, do this… Also, do that
  • 5. Explain each step one by one Add milk or cream.The taste of milk will add richness to your ice-cream.
  • 6. Use transition signals to introduce each new step. First Second Next
  • 7. The topic sentences for HOW TO paragraphs. Remember!! TheTopic sentence has two parts The topic and the controlling idea The topic part here name the topic The controlling idea shows that the reader will learn how to do or to make something (the topic)
