1. The presenter aims to provide a less time-consuming method for implementing differentiation in the classroom, especially during blended learning.

Pair programming offers an extensive list of benefits. While it still remains a controversial practice, many teams have adopted pair programming for all development work. That’s not the end of the story, though. As I've coached teams using pair programming, I’ve observed a few anti-patterns. This doesn’t mean “You’re doing it wrong”, but I think that being aware of these bad habits is helpful to all of us. We will also discuss how to address an anti-pattern when you observe it (or do it yourself).

Part – 2
Individual Speech Presentation: Draft
From last week: Email your instructor early in the week to obtain speech topic approval if you have not already done so. Continue researching your topic and create a good thesis statement. Write at least three sentences for the main ideas concerning your topic.
This week, update your thesis statement and your main idea sentences, create at least two subtopics for each of the three main points, and add to your research notes. Use these items to write a first draft for your outline. Do the outline tutorial exercises provided in the lecture. Spend time learning about outlining and solving your topic organization, sequence, and outline problems. Your outline is not due this week. You will complete working on this outline next week. Nothing is due in the Dropbox yet for your speech.
PowerPoint presentations with recorded narration are due in Week 6. Begin practicing the use of your microphone with your computer and the PowerPoint narration feature. See the iConnect tab and the Presentation tab under Course Home for the tutorials on how to use these features.
Note: Notify your instructor now if you do not understand how to create an outline. If you are having great difficulty creating a draft of your outline, e-mail specific questions to your instructor. You may wish to ask for a personal phone call.

TIPS FOR COMPLETING ASSIGNMENT 1
Persuasion is an important element of all forms of writing. Persuasion is especially important as it pertains to Technical Writing.
Here are some tips and suggestions for completing Assignment 1. Please study them at your earliest convenience.
Your first assignment, of course, requires you to write a persuasive memo; therefore, I wanted to give you a few tips and suggestions for successfully completing the assignment. To be effective, a persuasive must consider and address the following:
Identify a specific goal. Your memo’s first sentence should clearly state the document’s main point. Get to that point. Do so early. And ask for a specific response.
Attempt to connect with the audience. Explain what’s in it for them, perhaps by appealing to common goals and values.
Don’t ask for too much. Consider the practical limitations. Lobster for lunch in the cafeteria is probably out of the question!
Be sure to offer convincing evidence. For example, don’t say something is expensive or something is cheap. Provide specific information.
Also…
Before getting started, I strongly recommend that you take a close look at the good and the bad examples. Please note, however, that your assignment has a longer length requirement than what you’ll see in the examples.
For this assignment, you are not to use the words I, me or mine. Any assignment that contains even one of those words will receive a reduced grade. Writing this memo in the first person will give your memo an inappropriate and whiny tone that’s not likely to persuade an audience.
Remember: say it simply; say it clearly. D ...

Suppose, hypothetically, that you suddenly have to teach from home for several weeks. Or rather, several students are suddenly quarantined at home and cannot attend class. It's relatively easy to make the shift to remote teaching if you know a few tips and best practices. In fact, you might even find that teaching remotely has some pedagogies that are near impossible to adopt in a F2F classroom. Our CEO, Maria Andersen, has been using remote teaching and synchronous online teaching for a decade, and will share some tips and best practices for making your remote classes run smoothly.
