BPR Life Cycle
Visioning
•Define corporate
vision and business
goals
Identifying
•Identify Business
processes to be Re
engineered
Analyzing
•Analyze and measure
an existing process
Re Designing
•Identify enabling IT &
generate alternative
process redesigns
Evaluating
•Evaluate and select a
process redesign
Implementing
•Implement the re -
engineered process
Improving
•Continuous
improvement of the
process

Stage -4
Implement
Stage – 1 - Launch
• Analyze the initial request.
• Understand the project requirement.
• Define the project goals & objectives.
Initial Request &
Project definition
• Document the Project requirements.
• Document the defined Project Goals and
objectives for future reference.
• Document the Project Scope.
Complete Project
documentation
• Conduct initial meetings.
• Obtain Key management Commitment.
• Confirm the project scope &
requirements.
Kick off meeting
– Steering group
Stage – 2 - Analysis
Data gathering and
analysis
• Collect data from
various business
processes & Dept.
• Analyze the
collected data to
understand the
current status.
Map Processes
• Prepare the process
flows to identify the
business processes
to be reengineered.
• Map the flaws and
bottlenecks in the
business processes.
Discuss findings &
priorities in steering
group workshop
• Report findings &
Flaws in the
business processes
to Key management.
• Obtain commitment
from management
for process
re – engineering.
Stage – 3 – Re Design
• Develop alternative process redesigns.
• Redesigned process needs to aligned with IT and remove the
existing flaws in the business processes.
Develop to e pro ess
• Involve Key Management staff and end users in the
redesigning process.
• Needs to obtain acceptance from end users of the process.
Consult Stakeholders
• Evaluate and select a process redesign.
• Finalized Designs (Flow Charts) needs to be developed for the
approved process redesigns.
Finalize to e design
• Conduct meetings with the Key Management personnel.
• Obtain approval from the Key Management for the
implementation of the finalized process redesigns.
Approve to e
processes in steering
group workshop
Stage – 4 - Implement
•Planning needs to be developed for the implementation of
Process Redesigns.
•Plans needs to be approved by the Key Management.Plan Programme
•Conduct meetings with the end users.
•Needs to provide implementation plans to the end users
for better implementation of the plans.
Steering group
workshop
•Plans needs to be implemented properly.
•Each & every phase of plan implemented needs to obtain
authorization from the Key Management.
Start to
implement
•Regular periodic review schedules needs to be developed
to review the business processes implemented.
•Confirm whether requirements and objectives of the
planned business redesigns are achieved or not.
