Cesar Chavez Rhetorical Devices
Cesar Chavez started his excerpt by defining the power of nonviolence and how it portrayed
throughout Dr. King s life. While Caesars compares and contrast the power of nonviolence to
violence he use rhetorical device such repetition ,diction and tone. Which shows how Cesar Chavez
literary devices help him drive his argument to a nonviolent resistance.
Throughout the excerpt Chavez uses repetition to differences the we from the those he portrays the
we as understanding humans who know the struggle and are righteous people. For example we
know it cannot be more important than human life as well as we advance militant nonviolence . The
we is use to support his side for those people who comprehend the value and the importances of
human life. Unlike those who are a supporters of violence. For instance, from those who see
violence as a shortcut . This shows how Cesar Chavez excerpt was directed to the nonviolent
resistance people who support him as well as giving them guidance as to the power of nonviolence
and how soon they will see victory . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He uses words and phrases such as total demoralization and pheraphs death . Which signifies how
Cesar Chavez view violence as something that would cause atrocities and the lost of many people
without actually solving the problem at hand. The uses of diction in this passage also persuades
the nonviolence people to diverge from the path of violence since it would not lead to anything but
destruction. Moreover he uses these words to sort of guide them in the correct and moral path of

Changes in Consumer Behaviour Essays
Executive Summary
Consumer behaviours have changed over the years; this is shown by consumers today purchasing
a more healthy variety of products, as information today is known about products that was not
known many years ago. Factors such as these, change the way we perceive and value products, as
we now are more knowledgeable as well as manufacturers having by law to print the ingredients and
content of the products ingredients on the back of most food products, allowing consumers to
become more educated. The typical consumer today watches what they eat; they are more aware
and exposed to factors that have brought about change in consumer behaviours.

And also in some cases going to the extreme in stating that parents are slowly killing their children
with feeding them specific foods. This is a huge factor that has brought about changes in the way
consumers purchase and behaviour. Other factors are current events, such as when the 9/11 incident
occurred; a lot of patriotic Americans bought and consumed American made products to help the
American economy grow. The American government also put out campaigns to promote American
produced and made products to the public to change the views of consumer purchases. Just another
example of factors that support change in consumer behaviours.
Governments and consumer groups control or filter what information is known about certain
products. The Australian consumers association or ACA produces a magazine that informs
consumers about their rights and about the value and safety of products. The government on the
other hand works in conjunction with the health department to reveal the real truths about products,
such as the smoking campaign, that informs us of what really is in a cigarette and how much
damage it is doing to your body. These groups play a vital role in educating the consumers about
certain truths that need to be made aware to the consumers of today s health concise age.

Change Bruce Dawe
Change can be confronting and because of this we often try to resist it. However, we need change
and we must accept it, for without change we cannot grow. This confrontation of change,
resistance and final acceptance of change can be seen in the texts, Drifters , And a good Friday
was held by all by Bruce Dawe and 10 Things I hate about you by Gil Junger. All three of these
texts examine the process of change and the attitudes towards change. These texts all share simular
audiences of ambitious individuals striving for a better future. Drifters and A Good Friday was held

Change is shown significantly throughout the film as towards the end of the film Kat has
transformed in to a completely different person. Kat doesn t have anymore outbursts in class;
she isn t sent to the guidance office, has less run In s with her sister Bianca and she becomes
accepted by her peers. Her transformation is the result of affection as Kat is tamed by love. At the
start of the film, we first see Kat, blaring Joan Jetts Bad Reputation from her cars sound system.
We know straight away that Kat doesn t give a dam about her bad reputation. The film technique
of sound and music is used to emphasise her personality and reputation without her In the film a
medium close up of Kats face is shown when she reads her poem in class. This scene shows a
completely different view of Kat than was previously presented in the film. Change is shown in
this part of the film when Kat confesses her love and lets her emotions flow in tears while she
reads her poem in front of the entire class. The Kat presented in the previous scenes of the film
never would have allowed herself to be seen in such a vulnerable way; her previous attitude was
tough, distant and more masculine. The medium close up of Kats face while she reads the poem
enables us to see how her facial expressions change and her feminine side appear to allow herself
to express her emotions. It seemed as though

Understanding The Value Of Health Economics
Understanding the value of health economics is very important during this rapidly changing
environment. Health economics is the study of how transactions or connections between health and
the resources needed are made and of the bottom line results (Getzen, 2013). Resources include
money but also people, materials and time that could have been used in other ways. Our healthcare
needs may be unlimited but the resources we have to satisfy them are not. We must make careful
choices about which needs are most important and how to manage limited resources. Decision
makers take the information given to make choices about what new and existing medicines and
technologic advances will be used. Vaccines for example and other new technologies can be very
costly. Therefore, we must measure whether or not the benefits outweigh the costs (Teitelbaum
Wilensky, 2013).
Health is important to us as individuals. As stated in Getzen (2013), health is so precious that its
value exceeds that of all the things we possess. Healthcare is one way of preventing and treating
illness and disease. Our country must make good decisions now for our future health. We need to
carefully evaluate and implement modern and emerging health technologies and advances (Getzen,
2013).
Americans needs to look at health care policy and understand what works and what does not work.
Health care policy and government involvement benefits society in many ways including improved
access to care, improved quality of

Essay on History of the Democratic Republic of Congo
Prior to 1960, Belgium and their King, Leopold ruled the Congo region. They held great interests in
the rubber industry and created harsh labor camps that exploited the people. That is why after
gaining independence in 1960, the nation then known as Zaire plunged into chaos. Military unrest
coupled with oppressive warlord throughout the region made it a very unstable state, ready to
collapse. Nowadays, U.N. peacekeeping forces hold posts in the nation to maintain its stability. The
United States has had foreign relations with the country from 1960 and has signed many treaties to
help promote growth in the region. One such document is the Peace, Security and Cooperation
framework that exists between the United States and the Democratic... Show more content on

That is another reason why U.S. economic involvement in the DRC is seen as very important,
because it produces stability in the region, leading into the next point. As stated at the end of the
last paragraph, the U.S. must prevent more military destabilization in the region through both
military and economic means. The early mission statement of the United States Africa Command
states that the West s long term strategic interests in Africa are clear: we must thwart the growth
of terrorism and transnational crime; we must prevent destabilizing mass migrations; and we
must maintain secure trade links. Through military invention and economic aid, both the DRC
and other nations in Africa as well as the United States will benefit with increased national
security. In 2001, the UN blamed the various factions that fought a brutal five year war in the
DRC for deliberately extending the conflict in order to plunder the country s extensive supplies
of gold, diamonds, and timber (World Geography). Through the Peace, Security and Cooperation
framework the U.S. is able to maintain a Special Envoy for the Great Lakes and the DRC to
prevent further exploitation of resources. The Envoy has a main goal of locating and destroying
the main root cause of instability in the region. In other economic terms, A UN agency said it
needed close to 7.5 million U.S. dollars to continue offering

Analyzing A Wide Range Of Environmental Data
PMF is a mathematical receptor model that is used to analyze a wide range of environmental data.
The model has been widely used in air, water, and lake and ocean sediments research to determine
the sources of pollutants. This model reduces the large number of variables in intricate analytical
data sets to just a few combinations known as source types and contributions while providing very
robust uncertainty estimates and data diagnostics.
The identification of the source types is achieved by matching the different sources with the
measured profiles of individual sample chemical constituents. The source contributions are basically
used to determine how much each source/factor contributed to the pollutants in the analyzed
sample(s). The PMF ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The model limits the factor loadings and scores to only the non negative values, which significantly
minimizes the uncertainty that may be caused by any rotating factors. The mass balance equation
for the PMF model accounting for all the m chemical species in n samples as contributions from p
independent sources can be written as shown in Eq. (3.8);
X_ij= ∑_(k=1)^pв
–’g_ik f_kj+ e_ij Eq.(3.8) where, Xij = the elemental concentration for the jth
species on the ith day, gik = the contribution of kth factor to the receptor model on the ith day, fkj
= the proportion of the kth factor that is species j, and eij = the residual for the jth species on the
ith day.
While using the PMF model, there exists a set of fundamental, natural physical constraints or
checks that have to be obeyed. These include: The model must reproduce the original data. i.e., the
model must explain all the observations in the input data set. The expected/ predicted source
compositions must all have non negative values. Any given source cannot have a negative
proportion of an element or any other given pollutant species. The predicted source contributions to
the particulate aerosols or any other environmental pollutants of interest must all be non negative.
Any given source cannot emit negative mass. The sum of the

Examples Of Extra Sensory Perception
Have you ever felt like you knew what someone was going to say before they said it? Did your
dreams ever come true? Or have you ever had a vision of something and you have witnessed in
reality? Most of us have experienced one or more of these types of events, which is called
ExtraSensory perception .
What is ExtraSensory Perception or ESP?
ESP or Extra Sensory Perception is defined as ability of a person to receive or sense information
without the aid of using their five senses see, hear, smell, touch and taste. According to the Journal
of Parapsychology, it is defined as the response to an external event not presented to any known
sense. ESP is also referred to as a sixth sense, gut instinct or hunch.

Breaking Home Syndrome Analysis
Breaking Home Ties: Rockwell s Interpretation of the Empty Nest Syndrome The feeling of grief
and loneliness parents may feel when their children leave home for the first time in order to live
on their own or attend a college or university is known as the Empty Nest Syndrome. When my
parents and I watched my older brother venture out of the only home he had known for eighteen
years to begin a new chapter of his life, I personally felt this syndrome s effects. I had to adjust to
him no longer sitting at the dinner table with us every evening or giving me rides to school in
the morning or walking the halls with me at school, and I know that my parents will also have to
learn to adapt once more when I myself graduate high school in a year and a half. This empty
feeling, caused by the abrupt absence of someone who has always been in your life and is
suddenly not around anymore, is most likely what also captivated Norman Rockwellduring 1954
when he painted Breaking Home Ties.
Through the inspiration of Rockwell s own personal troubles, as he mourned the absence of his
three sons who had all recently left home for universities, he was able to tell a story similar to his
own through his painting. His depiction of a farmer boy and his father and dog waiting for a train
that will take the young man to college conveys the sense of poignancy that all American families
will experience when their children inevitably leave them to begin their own individual lives.

The Challenges Of Canada s Health Care System
There are 196 countries with healthcare systems across the world... Canada s healthcare system
is ranked 30th overall. Most critics keep health care related debates to the small scope of Canada
and the USA. However, neither the USA nor Canada s systems are ranked in the top 25 for
overall efficiency (The Patient Factor). In order for Canada s healthcare system to improve, there
must be changes made in regards to major problems; financial aspects, timely access, and the doctor
shortages. Evidence shows that the best healthcare systems in the world are founded on a strong
primary care system (TheStar.com). Perhaps Canada can learn from these countries that are ranked
higher, and provide more efficient care to Canadian citizens. Magnifying... Show more content on

This survey included over 3,700 physicians in eight different countries. The results showed
Canada continuously had the lowest overall adaption rate; early adaption of technologies is a key
element to sustaining healthcare systems (Williams). Canada is a slow adapter of innovative
technologies that could enhance the quality of health care services and improve the health and
quality of life of Canadians (Daniel Muzyka). There is plenty of evidence to validate that many
Canadians are incorrect in believing that they have the best healthcare system in the world .
Spending on healthcare in Canada continues to outpace the government spending program in
growth and is limiting public investments in other areas that would make for an overall more
effective society (Daniel Muzyka). Canada is the 10th highest spender, spending an average of
$2,600 per Canadian per year. Recent studies by Brett Skinner have looked at trends in the annual
growth rates for provincial healthcare expenditures and total government revenue. He found that if
recent trends persist, provincial government spending on healthcare will consume more than half
of total revenues from all sources in six of 10 provinces by the year 2020 (Neil Stuart). Due to the
over spending factor and tight budgets, several healthcare institutions in Canada are cutting back
costs any way they can. Specifically, in

Little Endian And The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Each...
1. Describe Big Endian, Little Endian and the advantages and disadvantages of each approach.
Memory is a lot like a large array but rather than using the term index to indicate specific locations
in memory; we use the term address . Each address stores one element at the level of the byte
(Curran, 2006). Although some data types exceed 1 byte; they can be assigned to span more than a
single byte to accommodate larger values.
Within a byte the value is determined by checking the bits right to left. This means that the right
most $#$#0$#$# can be o or 1 value and any bits towards the left indicate a higher value. There
are two ways in which data can be stored in memory. The little endian approach stores new values
in a way that starts at the left and expands to the right, so that each new piece of data is added to
the right , ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The small endian has the advantage that it doesn t feature the overhead of shifting bytes all over the
place that big endian involves. Additionally once conceived in the above light (the last example),
small endian surpasses big endian in terms of understandability.
2. Describe what an overflow is and how it occurs. Describe some of the problems that overflow
causes, one area that you should research (among others) is the concept of integer based security
attacks.
Basically an overflow is the result where a digit for example, is too large to occupy a certain
memory space and thereby smears other memory locations corrupting data or presenting a security
risk to the operating system. The result of an overflow can cause erratic program behavior, memory
access errors, incorrect results, software vulnerabilities and/or the crash of the operating system.

Bruce Tuckman Is The Theorist Who Designed The †Forming
Bruce Tuckman is the theorist who designed the Forming Storming Norming Performing theory in
1965. He added a fifth stage, adjourning, in the 1970s. This theory is based and focused on team
development and behaviour, and the stages and changes the team makes as they mature and grow.
It emphases that relationships will establish, and the leader changes their leadership style as the
team progresses. This development of team behaviour and managementstyle can be seen plainly in
the Tannenbaum and Schmidt Continuum, how the authority and freedom extended by the leader
to the team grows while the control of the leader decreases.
There is a specific order within his theory, staring from beginning to end. The order would be

This basically means that team members are wanting and looking for a new position. They do this
as they attempt to establish themselves within the team, letting them be known and try and make
relationships between themselves and the other members, or the leader. Little groups within the
team will begin to form, and therefore causing a power struggle to take place. In this stage the
leader will try and make sure that the team knows that they need to be focused on their goals, to
avoid becoming distracted by relationships and other emotional issues they may have.
Compromises and changes may be required to enable progress, so everything is fair and safe within
the team.
The third stage is norming, which means that agreement and accord largely forms among the team
and its members. The disagreements that happen in the first two stages have decreased, and roles
within the team have been firmly established. Also, the aims and objectives set by the leader are
done without disagreement. Big decisions are made by group agreement. Smaller decisions may be
given to individuals or small teams within group. Commitment and harmony within the team is
strong, meaning they are working well together. The team may engage in fun and social activities,
and therefore forming better relationships between people. This would only improve the way they

Experiment to Determine How Heart Rate is Affected by...
Throughout this investigation, I will be conducting a number of experiments to help solve
whether or not heart rate is affected by exercise. My aim is to identify the difference of every
volunteer s heart rate and take down how old they are so I can evaluate whether or not the age of a
person make a difference in their bpm (beats per minute).
Many people know when you exercise for long periods of time; your breathing becomes more
shallow and quick. The main human organ system used when exercising is the respiratory system.
There are two types of respiration your body can carry out, aerobic, with oxygen, and anaerobic,
without. The reason for getting tired from exercise is because when the body runs out of the

The exercise I have chosen to do throughout this investigation is skipping (jumping). The reason I
have chosen this specific activity is because I think it will produce more interesting results than a
basic exercise, such as running.
I managed to gather a total of 10 people to help conduct my experiment. Four people for year 9,
three for year 7 and three for sixth form. The reason I have chosen at least three people per age
group is because it is the smallest number of people you can have to find an accurate average. As
said, I have chosen four people for the year 9 age group. This is because the heart rates of the
first original three people varied far more than in the other two groups. I then decided to bring a
fourth person so they could help justify my results and show they are as valid as possible.
There are three variables in my experiment. The amount of time, the pulse rate and the age of the
people. I asked my volunteers to skip for five short but different periods of time. These time
periods varied from 30 seconds to 2 and a half minutes. I asked the people who had volunteered to
jump for the given time, and straight after jumping, count their pulse rate for 20 seconds (which
was timed) and I would then multiply it by three, to give a total of 60 secind/1 minute.
You can see the results fit very well with what was expected to occur. You could see that the heart
rate was increasing the

Analysing the Female Characters in Henry James Fiction A woman it seems to me has no natural

Discuss James representations of places for women in his novels.
There is an impressive range of female characters in Henry James fiction. Drawn to the world of
wealth and leisure as a subject, a world which was at the same time, ironically the context for his

Correspondingly, most of his male characters seem to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The theme so early recognised as particularly James own was the international one, and the
expression of this theme pivoted around the figure of the American girl. The critic W.D. Howells
(1958 P.63) credited James with being the inventor of the International American girl . The
American girl, as she appears in James early stories and novels is independent, moral, free,
innocent, and her attractiveness is either delicate or of a pale and rather asexual kind. In her less
refined or serious form, she may be ignorant, brash or simply naГЇve. She is, of course, as always
unmarried. In using the American girl as central to his exploration of the interaction of American
and European society, it was not at first in the girl herself that James placed the distinguished
American moral consciousness, and when she was endowed

the early work, usually located in a male onlooker. Her self consciousness according to Habegger

from it, or were destroyed by it, and this is the reason

Comparing God And Identity
God and Jesus are not the same in terms of identity. Jesus the Son and God the Father are the
same being. Even still, Jesus himself has His own identity. The Bible explains that God is three in
one in Matthew 28:18 20. He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They each
have different personalities and identities, yet they still form one being. Godthe Father plays a role
in which He oversees or generates many different things. If God and Jesuswere truly the same all
around, then the scripture John 3:16 would be in vain. God the Father and God the Son (Jesus) are
actually two different people, but of the same essence. Therefore, Jesus (the Son) did not pray to
Himself in the garden of Gethsemane. He prayed to God the Father

Stone-Personal Narrative
Ever since I was a little girl I hoped someday I would be able to go back in time.Well now I m
fourteen and was told to stop believing in silly things like that. One day after school I found a locket
there was a tiny button inside. Before I took it home I made shure it didn t belong to anyone around
the park. With no luck I headed home and when I got to my room I pressed the button to see what it
did and in a flash I was falling out of the sky!. I wasn t as high as a plane but it was still pretty high.
I fell on a tree then rolled down a rocky hill. When I was able to get back up to my feet all I could
see for miles was small herds of mammoths!. Next thing I knew an arrow flew past my head. I

Biography of Bob Marley Essay
Biography of Bob Marley Bob Marley was known for his accomplishment in the revolution of
reggae music. A great impact in his life was his belief in Rastafari which is about people turning
to a natural type of life style. While Bob was trying to get his music career going and fallow his

By the end of the 1960 s, with the legendary reggae producer Lee Scratch Perry at the mixing
desk, The Wailers were again back at the top in Jamaica. The combination of the Wailers and
Perry resulted in some of the finest music the band ever made. Tracks like Soul Rebel, Duppy
Conquerer, 400 Years, and Small Axe were not only classics, but they defined the future direction
of reggae.(Bob Marley Bio) It s difficult to properly understand Bob Marley s music without
considering Rastafari. His spiritual beliefs are too well known to necessitate further
explanation. It must be stated, however, that Rastafari is at the very center of the Wailers
music. His music and lyrics worked as the rhetoric of the Rastafarian movement against
oppression, exploitation and racism in Jamaica. Using metaphors to describe the hardships of
the political fights of Jamaicans and Africans Marley established himself as the spokesman of a
race and culture. The Rastafari religion, the heart of Bob s music, based itself in belief of Jah,
which was a metaphor for a god of goodness and love. Jah was the force fighting against the
oppression from Babylon, the destructive force.(Hot shot rock tributes) Metaphors of oppression
and freedom, such as chains and birds, depict social problems and ways of liberation (Jensen).
Many of Marley s lyrics included these references and therefore fell into the latitude

Across Five Aprils Jenny Creighton Analysis
We all have read many different books and stories and have found many similarities between
ourselves and different characters. One of the novels I have read during this summer is called,
Across Five Aprils . In this novel, there was one character that I felt as if she was most like me.
Her name is Jenny Creighton, the daughter of the Creighton family, whose only fourteen years old,
in loved with a schoolmaster named Shadrach Yale. This girl and I have lots of characteristics in
common, such as own point of views, tend to take care the family, and lovewithout thinking.
First of all, there were lots of examples throughout the novel that shows Jenny have the self ability
to think. According to pages 22 and 23, Jenny is fur and too young to be thinkin about Shad or
ary other young man, her father remarked quietly.... She was only fourteen, it was true, but she
was as tall as Nancy and within two years as old as Ellen had been when she married Matthew

Essay about Magic Empowers Women in La Casa de Los Espiritus
Magic empowers women in La casa de los espГritus Discuss. In Isabel Allende s first novel, La
casa de los espГritus the reader is introduced to her use of magic as a means which enables
women to feel sustained in times of difficulty and which provides them with a power base
(Bennett, C. 2003:174). Interestingly, the women s connection with the spiritual and magical
stands in contrast to the men s rejection of anything that doesn t adhere to their strict perception of
morbid reality. Therefore, Allende quite clearly outlines magical properties as essentially feminine
(Shaw, D. 1997:116) and spirituality in all its forms as a province of the female of the species
(Hart, S. 2005:275) only. It can be argued that women and magic... Show more content on

Though some critics are of the opinion that Clara is a passive character and her silences aren t
exactly magic, Marjorie AgosГn argues that Clara chose silence not out of passivity or fear but
rather because that was the only way for her to create her own space composed of hidden signs and
signals (AgosГn, M. 1984:36). It therefore represents a place for her to be alone with the spirits
and creates a safe haven away from the destructiveness and aggressiveness of her husband. Even
though AgosГn s statement rejects Clara s passivity, it is possible to disagree on the basis that
she did not have sufficient information, and possessed neither the power nor the tools necessary
(Allende, I. 1984:41) to bring about her liberation therefore she was forced to refer to what can be
read as passive resistance. As a result of this, Esteban is unable to connect with her and soon
realizes that Clara no le pertenecГa y que si ella continuaba habitando un mundo de aparecidos [...]

in cinematography, is a stylised technique used to highlight significant events film narratives. This
proposal will decipher whether symmetry used as a stylistic filmic technique, is a notable and
powerful visual aid that heightens the viewers experience and significance of narrative
developments. The purpose of this study is to gauge information about how symmetry showcases a
posed and staged approach in filmmaking, and if that will drive the movement of filmnarratives.
Thorough analysis of examples of works by American director Wes Anderson will be conducted
throughout this proposal.

This is due to the possibility of symmetry being used randomly and thoughtlessly, running a high
risk of creating visual disturbances in the narrative of the film, thus, potentially leading the initial
direction of the narrative astray and the viewers to be confused as the film advances (Thonsagaard,
L, 2012).
Wes Anderson (born 1969), best know as an Academy Award winning American film directorand
screenwriter is respected and has mastered the art of symmetry. His films are extremely
identifiable, as his constant usage of symmetry within his feature films create a powerful visual aid
which are capable of communicating complex meanings that cannot be conveyed visually without
the addition of symmetry. Anderson s work is also notable for his distinctive narrative writing and
style and also the inclusion of adding reoccurring collaborations with various actors and creatives
(McClintock, P, 2014).
The definition of symmetry follows and refers to ...quality being made up of exactly similar parts
facing each other or around an axis (Oxford Dictionary of English). This proposal will primarily
focus on Anderson s filmmaking, discussing his utilisation of symmetry within his works and how
he produces a visual aesthetic and experimental style of filmmaking that has gained him the title of
being a respected director in the film industry. Anderson s reason behind using symmetry instead

Bass Pro Argumentative Essay
This quote said by Henry David Thoreau, I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than
the trees. This explains the effects from being in the wilderness and the outdoors will affect your
life. A outdoorsman also has to have the right equipment for what they will be doing. The
outdoors has been a big part of my life, and has impacted how I live. To get equipment to go
hunting and fish you need to go to a sporting goods store. The biggest two are Cabela s and Bass

The first subject is how they are different and the same with the equipment they sell. They both sell

The location has the biggest impact on why they sell different products. Cabela s stores are mostly
located in the northwest region of the United States, so for this reason that is why they sell more
hunting than fishing equipment. They do have stores all across the country, but are mostly in this
area. Bass Pro is mostly based out of the southeast corner of the United States. The reason for this
is because bass fishing and fishing in general is more popular in this area of the country. This is
also why they sell sea fishing equipment, and not as much hunting equipment. The two companies
have stores all over the midwest. This is the area where hunting, and fishing is more popular and
practiced.
Cabela s and Bass Pro are similar and different in many ways including equipment, clothing, and
locations. Now that I have told you how they are the same and different, I hope that the next time
you go to either of the stores you take into consideration what I have talked about. Even though
they are both owned by the same company I hope you pick the one that fits your needs and
products you want. Make sure when you go into the outdoors you have the right equipment. Just

Night Owl Analysis
Bay Area locals, Guy Fox, deliver a feel good album, Night Owl, that could possibly sum up the
direction of this past summer s sound, alongside with a good look into the future of new music, as
the seasons change. Indie rockers Peter Granquist (vocals, drums, percussion), Nate Witherbee
(vocals, synthesizer, guitar, piano), Greg Waters (guitar, saxophones, synthesizer) and Charlie
Moore (vocals, bass, synthesizer, organ) experiment with synths, sweet melodies, and a distinct
tone that has the ability to immortalize feelings flawlessly. Night Owl offers different moods and
feelings throughout the album, orchestrated by playing with a simple recipe of sounds, presented
in a new light each time, such as the first two tracks. Antique Furniture sets the tone and has the
right amount of horns, and funky attitude, that is softened with a persistent synth. One of the
greatest intros on the album would be for the track, Mind s Eyes. This track is an instant mood
lifter, that gets you moving with a catchy guitar riff, and a solid bass line that gives the song
support. Based on the guitar riff, the ideal direction of the song would be of a higher, and lighter

Quentin Tarantino s Use Of Pastiche In The Film Pulp Fiction
Pastiche is a technique used in artistic works that is constructed from borrowing various elements
from other texts. The strategy of pastiche is present in the film Pulp Fiction (1994) by Quentin
Tarantino and the artistic photographic series Living in Hell and Other Stories by Tom Hunter.
Through these artworks the audience is able to identify a range of textual works that imitate the
style or character of particular artwork, film or literature. Pastiche derives from the late nineteenth
century word pasticcio . This French and Italian word means a pie filled with a variety of
ingredients. Similarly, a pastiche is a reference from multiple sources. It is an example of

Pastiche used in film is generally incorporated to create a nostalgic tone. However this is not the
case with Pulp Fiction as the strategy is used to pay homage and show appreciation towards
1950 s pulp fiction texts and influential films. Tarantino alludes to various aspects, techniques and
scenes from other Hollywood movies into his own. Tarantino stated, I always hope that if one
million people see my movie, they see one million different movies . Elements from Hollywood
movies such as weapons, costumes, camera angles, themes and famous scenes are injected into
Pulp Fiction . His film blurs the line between cinematic styles and genres. Intertextuality is a
significant factor within Tarantino s work, as by reinventing the old he is able to preserve
originality and create a sense of dimension within his work. Tarantino refers to Pulp Fiction not
as a movie but as multiple movies. An example of pastiche within the film is present in the scene
in which Marcellus Wallace coincidentally recognises Butch in his car while walking across the
street. This action mimics the scene from Alfred Hitchcock s Psycho where Marion s boss
recognises her as he crosses at traffic lights. Through this pastiche Tarantino is able to show his
appreciation and influence of Hitchcock s infamous films while also applying the scene in a
postmodern context. Another occurrence of pastiche appears in Butches weapon of choice; a
baseball bat and chainsaw. These weapons of choice pay homage to the films Walking Tall and

cannot be a human freedom so personal as ordering the circumstances of one s own

governments around the world were founded on? It is the denial of these rights that allows the

Frontotemporal Dementia Essay
This section describes a type of dementia known as frontotemporal dementia, which has different
forms including behavioural variant frontotemporal dementia, progressive non fluent aphasia and
semantic dementia.
What is frontotemporal dementia?
Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is the name given to dementia when it is due to progressive
damage to the frontal and/or temporal lobes of the brain.
The right and left frontal lobes at the front of the brain are involved in mood, social behaviour,
attention, judgement, planning and self control. Damage can lead to reduced intellectual abilities
and changes in personality, emotion and behaviour.
The right and left temporal lobes at the two sides of the brain are involved in processing what we

Subtle deficits in problem solving, mental flexibility and decision making are often present. In later
stages, the disease spreads to the frontal lobes so that behavioural changes occur, especially changes
in emotional responses and empathy.
Overlap between frontotemporal dementia and movement disorders
Most people with FTD do not experience significant movement or motor problems. However, motor
symptoms can develop in the later stages of the illness and FTD can co occur with other conditions
characterised by motor symptoms.
These include motor neuron disease, corticobasal syndrome, progressive supranuclear palsy and
FTDP 17 (FTD with parkinsonism linked to chromosome 17).
Who gets frontotemporal dementia?
FTD can affect anybody. It typically affects people at a younger age than Alzheimer s disease, with
symptoms beginning in the 50s or 60s, and sometimes younger.
Almost a third of people with FTD have a family history of dementia. However, only about 10
15% of cases have familial FTD, in which a gene mutation is passed on that causes the

The Voting Age Should Be Reduced
The Democratic system has been long withstanding in many countries, we take pride in having a
government that is for, by, and of the people. With a democratic system comes the right to vote; it
has a sense of empowerment the power of voting bears within itself the power of change. With a
government representing the views and will of the people, voters possess a significant
responsibility that is capable of impacting the nation as a whole; but when misused or mishandled,
can result in undesired repercussions. In many countries, youth are granted the ability to vote at the
age of 18. However, the question of whether the votingage should be reduced to 16 has been
debated nationwide for numerous years. While most individuals under the age of 18 are still in
school and live with their families two factors that encourage turnout and make informed decisions
(Wagner, Joahnn, Kritzinger, 2012, 372), the reasoning falls short. This is because many youth are

The Big Picture By Award Winning Authors That Offer Great...
The Big Picture is a book by award winning authors that offer great insight into the reason behind
the global economy crisis. The book offers insight into the ways in which one can navigate their
way into being successful economists where competition is stiff and the uncertainty of what the
market could be tomorrow are a serious challenge. The authors give a clear pathway on how
consumers, businessmen, federal reserves and the governments should take account of what is
happening about them in order to make critical decisions that they will not regret (Naroff
Scherer, 2014). What is assumed to be common sense is fundamentally different to those that
takes keen interest in the global economy and therefore individuals should take informed steps to
cope with this. The book covers a range of issues that are crucial in the global economy. One that
is most noteworthy to me is the Economic Theory and Fiscal and Monetary Policy. I think this is
an outstanding issue because it explains the monetary policies that the global market operates on
and how they are co related (Tan, 2000). Some of the policies include the business cycle, taxation,
bottom line recession balance of debts and loans and budget policies and the stock exchange
market. In my opinion, this is an important issue as it cut across almost all aspect of the economy
and decisions are made based on these monetary policies. These policies explain the relationship
between budget deficits and taxation. Most financial sectors

Animal Cruelty And Impurities In Upton Sinclair s The Jungle
I aimed at the public s heart, and by accident I hit it in the stomach. A quote by Upton Sinclair
from his best known novel The Jungle. Sinclair, a social crusader from California, was an activist
writer whose work often uncovered the social injustices occurring during his time. At the age of
14 Sinclair proved to be a force to recon with when he started attending City College of New York.
After graduating Sinclair began grad work at Columbia University supporting himself by writing
dime novels. In 1904 Sinclair was sent to Chicago by the socialist newspaper Appeal to Reason to
write an exposГ©. It s intentions were to sympathise with the appalling treatment of the immigrants
working in the meatpackingindustry. After spending weeks undercover researching, Sinclair wrote a
manuscript that would become The Jungle. In 1906 The Jungle became his sixth and most
successful novel. The novel exploited the quality and impurities in processed meats and in results...

Sinclair s intention to disclose the quandary of laborers at the meatpacking plants and his
descriptiveness of the animal cruelty and unsanitary conditions of the plants caused a significant
public uproar and changed the way people shopped for food. Ultimately bringing about his quote, I
aimed at the public s heart, and by accident I hit it in the stomach.
The fame of being a writer didn t distract Sinclair from his political beliefs but it served as a tool
for Sinclair to commence in personal aspirations such as Helicon Hall a co op in Jersey. Though
the building burned down less than a year later, Sinclair suspecting that he had been targeted
because of his socialist politics, it was said to be an utopia. While Sinclair published numerous
works over the following decade: novels The Metropolis, King Coal, and The Goose Step Sinclair s
focus on ideology often didn t help sales, and during this period was unsuccessful. By early 1920

Pros And Cons Of The American Dream
Can young adults today still fulfill their American Dream? This is something that is being
questioned across the nation and everyone has a different opinion. In America Now edited by
Robert Atwan, Barack Obama and other journalists state their opinion on the American Dream
explaining whether it is still possible today. The American Dream defined as the ideal that every
US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard
work, determination, and initiative. Whether the American Dream is possible or not varies
from each person, but in my experience, I believe it can be accomplished. A vast amount of
students are attending college, either a community college or a four year college, making it
possible for them to prosper. A lot of first generation students are seen across college campuses; I
am one of those students. Student aid such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
makes it possible for students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds afford college.
Parents and the students do not have to deal with the burden of trying to pay for the full cost of
attendance of college. For this reason, ... college enrollment has been rising since 2007 as well
(Tushnet 354). Students going to college get to choose their field of study. By giving them this
ability, they have more motivation to seek success and work hard towards their goal. As a first
generation student, my American Dream is to graduate from college with a bachelor s

How The Rate Of Reaction When Reacting With Magnesium...
Reaction Rate Lab;
Concentration
(Mg + 2HCl H2+ MgCl2)
Purpose:
How do different concentrations of Hydrochloric Acid (0.1 M, 0.5 M, 1.0 M, 2.0 M) affect the rate
of reaction when reacting with Magnesium ribbon strips?
Hypothesis:
If the hydrochloric acid has a greater concentration (2.0 M), there will be a greater reaction rate
than with a lower concentration (1.0 M, 0.5 M, 0.1 M). This is because if there is a greater
concentration, the chance of the reactants colliding is greater, thus leading to a faster reaction and
therefore a faster reaction rate. (Clark, Jim)
Variables Independent: Concentration of the Hydrochloric Acid (0.1 M, 0.5 M, 1.0 M, 2.0 M)
Dependent: Rate of reaction; amount of time needed to dissolve the Magnesium ribbon. (Time)
Control VariableHow it will be controlled
QuantityAll experiments will have the same quantity of reactants
TimerAll experiments will be timed with the same timer
EnvironmentAll experiments will be held in the same room

Mandatory Physical Education I
Current high school students are becoming fatter, slower, and less motivated than past students.
Many of these young people would prefer to be sitting passively in front of the television rather than
to do something physically active. Most high school students believe they do not have sufficient
time, opportunity or guidance to participate in physical activities. The ideal place in which students
would be able to find adequate time, opportunity and guidance are in the high schools themselves.
Politicians and educators responsible for the mandatory physical educationprogram at the junior
high schoollevels (grades eight to ten) should be applauded for this, but frowned upon for not
enforcing it on senior high school students (grades 11... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If these skills are not learned at a young age then it is the responsibility of high schools to teach
how to develop and apply these skills. Communication skills are essential in many aspects of life
because it may be the determining factor in a job interview or just in casual conversation with a
friend. If students are not taught social skills they often become self conscious and shy in social
contacts (Hartmann, 1982, p.22). If play skills are not developed early then they will are usually
not developed at all. This could be a factor which effects social behavior of teenagers and could
contribute to delinquency, social and family problems. Students with these problems usually lack
social skills which serve as being part of group contacts. Symptoms of this may be visible
nervousness and general lack of confidence during conversations with others. More importantly,
physical activity allows students the opportunity to relieve stress and enjoy themselves.
Physical education provides a combination of physical, intellectual and social challenges that other
subjects such as physics may not provide. Although the physical aspect is the most dominant, it is
not necessarily the most important. Sports such as basketball, volleyball and hockey help in
developing and refining gross motor skills and improve coordination. Muscular strength and
endurance are also enhanced, while flexibility is also improved through the participation of sports.
As you may already know, sport is

Both are perennially the best in the ACC and are fierce rivals. The head coaches of both teams are

multimillion dollar budgets and maintain the ultra positive image of their players and their

People like winners. Many have the philosophy that the underdog should win occasionally. In

Belongingness is one of those needs. People have a desire to be accepted by their peers, have
friendships, be a part of a group, and be loved (Daft, pg. 230). Coach K has the ability to
recognize those needs especially when he acknowledges players and recognizes them when the
execution of a game plan leads to a game win. This is done in the locker room in front of their
peers and on national television after a victory. As long as he continues to meet this basic need of
the players he will continue to bring victories to the Duke Basketball program. For the team, this
intrinsic reward was immediate when Duke achieved the victory over UNC at Cameron Indoor
Stadium that night.
In Coach K s book Leading with the Heart Grant Hill is allowed to write the forward and talk about
his coach from the perspective of a new college recruit, and later he speaks as a friend and
confidant. What Coach K teaches is about life and leadership. He sets the bar high so you can 1)
strive to be the best you can be; 2) appreciate the value and rewards of a hard work ethic; 3) build
close relationships based on trust; 4) set shared goals; 5) sacrifice and give of yourself; 6) win
with humility; 7) lose with dignity; 8) turn a negative into appositive; 9) be a part of something
bigger than yourself; and, 10) enjoy the journey (Krzyzewski, pg x).

Historical Significance Of Japanese History
History: Prehistoric Japan dates back to circa 10,000 BCE where the roots of fishing and pottery
making began; however, official Japanese history was first recorded in 1st century BCE (Japan,
2016). In the 1930 s and 40 s, Japan became more prominent in the global stage due to its
participation in the attack on Pearl Harbor (1941) and the U.S. coordinated Hiroshima bombings
(1945) during the World Wars (Japan, 2016). Since the 1950 s, Japan has been recognized as one
of the strongest economies in the developing and globalizing world. The fact that Japan is an
island has historically made it difficult to invade and has allowed the country to withstand
conflict between other countries. This has been demonstrated in various imperialistic conflicts in
certain parts of Asia. Places of Interest There are many notable places in Japan such as Mt. Fuji,
Nachi Falls, Sagano Bamboo Forest, and Aogashima (Ma, 2015). These places have both
historical significance and natural beauty. Mt. Fuji is one of the tallest volcanoes in Japan
(UNESCO, 2013). Life evolves around the dormant volcano, as its large presence has become an
icon and artistic muse for everyday life in Japan (Smithsonian Institution, 2013). Nachi Falls is an
orange, Buddhist and Shinto shrine. It is accompanied by a 133 meter waterfall that has
contributed to religious development in the area for the past centuries (Japan guid.com, 2016).

Women’s Suffrage Movement of Europe
Throughout history, women have struggled for equality in all parts of the world. European women
fought for suffrage for an extremely long period of time before they were granted full voting rights.
Each country approved women s suffrage at different times, but it occurred in most European
countries in the early 20th century. The first country to develop universal suffragewas Finland in the
year 1906( Women s Suffragein Europe ). One of the last countries to become open about women
s voting rights was Switzerland, who didn t grant women suffrage until 1971( Women s Suffrage
in Europe ). One of the main reasons why women desired the right to vote was because they

Although the United Kingdom was not the first European country to grant women s suffrage, the
movement was much more successful than those in other nations. The supporters of the movement
formed the National Union of Women s Suffrage and hoped to show that women could be
respectable and responsible in their political activity (The Western Heritage). The British women s
suffrage movement was more advanced than the ones in France and Germany. Hubertine Auclert
was alone in her efforts to get women s suffrage in France in the 1880 s. The National Council of
French Women did not fight for women s right to vote until years after it was formed.
Germany had many laws against political activity for women (The Western Heritage). Therefore,
the suffrage movement was very underdeveloped. Another reason why the women s suffrage
movement was not very popular in Germany is because the political organizations did not have
very much power and influence in politics. Many women did not feel that having more power in
these organizations would help them at all. However, as the years passed, the Union of German
Women s Organizations was founded. This organization focused largely on education for women
and improving their social conditions. Women were not granted voting rights until Germany was
defeated in war in 1919(The Western Heritage).

Example Of Mania In Hamlet
In William Shakespeare s Hamlet, a common theme of mania is spread throughout the play, and is
most apparent in the main character, Hamlet. Shakespeare depicts both the emotions and feelings of
the characters, allowing the audiance analyze their emotional state. It becomes obvious that Hamlet
is struggling with both emotional stress and a mental illness, melancholic depression. In some parts
of Hamlet, his emotions and melancholy seem to grade into each other primarily when
contemplating his fathers death, whereas other moments the two remain distinctly different. At
times, it may be hard to decipher whether Hamlet s actions are due to grief or depression, while
other times the two play into each other. With grief, one may have intense episodes of sadness,
moments of anger, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, feelings of loneliness or have thoughts of
suicide (Schimelpfening). With melancholic depression, the subject experiences extreme sadness,

instance of mood swings occur during Ophelia s funeral. Hamlet claims that Laertes was being

A Unique And Refreshing Adventure
Dope A Unique and Refreshing Adventure ( Movie Review) Dope, directed by Rick Famuyiwa,
is a coming of age story that pays homage to 90s vintage ghetto dramas and destroys all
stereotypes of a teenager coming from the hood. The character, Malcolm (Shameik Moore),
whose entire style, from his classic high top hair cut to his 90s fashioned clothing and shoes,
conveys an obsession with hip hop s golden age, which for Malcolm continued until 2001. This
movie expresses two sides of a geeky high school teenager growing up in the tough parts of
Inglewood and having interests and hobbies that are not typically seen in a tough urban movie.
It also shows counterstereotypic situations that usually would not be depicted with these
characters. Rick Famuyiwa s Movie, Dope, first breaks down the conformality of society and
the way people think, then place the broken pieces together in a way to make the audience see
life in different perspectives which, honestly, makes this movie unlike any other 90s based movie
that we have all come to know as repetitive. The movie s first few seconds is one that gives an
overview of what is to come throughout the movie. It starts off with several definitions of dope,
those being someone who is portrayed as unintelligent, an illegal substance, and an American slang
that can be closely related to the term cool. All three powerful definitions expresses something edgy
about the movie. For instance, the main climax of the movie is about Malcolm and his

The Dynamics Of Prosecuting Attorneys. Prosecuting Attorneys
The Dynamics of Prosecuting Attorneys
Prosecuting attorneys have been enforcing law and order for many years, trying criminal cases
while representing local, state, or federal governments. They interview witnesses and victims,
look at police reports, and do legal research to plan prosecutions for cases. After the information
is collected, it is used in court to present a case against the defendant. Most of the time cases are
begun by reviewing police reports and conducting research. To be able to be successful in this field
you have to know how to conduct research and be excellent at problem solving. ( Prosecuting ).

There are some barriers before starting law school. Before you are accepted into the law school of
your choosing you must pass the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). To become a prosecutor
, you
have to earn a bachelor s degree and a Juris Doctor Degree. After finishing law school, you have to
pass the states bar exam. Passing the bar exam is the only way to get a license to practice.
( Prosecuting ).
Potential prosecutors should focus on criminal law while earning their degree. Criminal law is a
system of law that is devoted to the punishment of people who commit crimes. In general,
Criminal law asks and answers three questions: 1. Did an individual commit a crime? 2. Which
crime did an individual commit? 3. Does the individual have a defense? The way each state
prosecutes criminals is different because each state has its own criminal code. Which means each
state decides what punishment is appropriate for each crime. Criminal codes vary greatly among
state and federal government. Some statues resemble the common law criminal code, but others,
like the New York Penal Law, almost mimic the Model Penal Code (MPC). Common law is
when law is taken from judicial decisions instead of from written law. Model Penal Law was
influential work that played a very important part in the revision and process of arranging laws.

Farming Is The Nation s Most Important And Noblest...
When you think about farming what comes to mind? Do you think about older gentlemen on
tractors, or young boys helping there father feed the family herd. Maybe you even think about
thousands of acres of corn land in Iowa. Whatever it is I can assure you farming is the nation s
most important and noblest profession. Today farming is seen as a dangerous profession, that s
not necessarily the case, it is true that many people are injured and even killed on farms each year.
In 2012 alone three hundred and seventy four farmers and farmworkers lost there lives due to work
related injuries, and every day a staggering one hundred and sixty seven agricultureworkers suffer a
work related injury(CDC 2012). But why so many? The simple answer is that when it comes to
farm safety many people are ignorant. I myself am guilty of not using the proper safety equipment
or even removing a safety shield to make things run more efficient. I think we have it hardwired in
our brains that bad things only happen to other people, and nothing bad could happen to ourselves,
that s not the case. I think that if farmers will take the time to slow down and be more careful and
think things through we will cut down drastically on injuries. If you think about it many farmers
are constantly stressed, they simply don t have enough hours in the day to accomplish all the tasks
at hand so they begin to rush which causes shortcuts to be made which can potentially lead to injury
or death.

While Caesars compares and contrast the power of nonviolence to violence he use rhetorical device such repetition ,diction and tone. Changes in Consumer Behaviour Essays Executive Summary Consumer behaviours have changed over the years; this is shown by consumers today purchasing a more healthy variety of products, as information today is known about products that was not known many years ago. Factors such as these, change the way we perceive and value products, as we now are more knowledgeable as well as manufacturers having by law to print the ingredients and content of the products ingredients on the back of most food products, allowing consumers to become more educated. The typical consumer today watches what they eat; they are more aware and exposed to factors that have brought about change in consumer behaviours. And also in some cases going to the extreme in stating that parents are slowly killing their children with feeding them specific foods. This is a huge factor that has brought about changes in the way consumers purchase and behaviour. Other factors are current events, such as when the 9/11 incident occurred; a lot of patriotic Americans bought and consumed American made products to help the American economy grow. The American government also put out campaigns to promote American produced and made products to the public to change the views of consumer purchases. Just another example of factors that support change in consumer behaviours. Governments and consumer groups control or filter what information is known about certain products. The Australian consumers association or ACA produces a magazine that informs consumers about their rights and about the value and safety of products. The government on the other hand works in conjunction with the health department to reveal the real truths about products, such as the smoking campaign, that informs us of what really is in a cigarette and how much damage it is doing to your body. These groups play a vital role in educating the consumers about certain truths that need to be made aware to the consumers of today s health concise age. 3.0Analysis 3.1 Typical Consumers of Today Barbara is a typical consumer of today. This confrontation of change, resistance and final acceptance of change can be seen in the texts, Drifters , And a good Friday was held by all by Bruce Dawe and 10 Things I hate about you by Gil Junger. All three of these texts examine the process of change and the attitudes towards change. These texts all share simular audiences of ambitious individuals striving for a better future. Drifters and A Good Friday was held by all both use the techniques of imagery, Diction, Metaphors, Juxtaposition, Repititition, Alliteration and Biblical Allusion to represent the concept change.... This scene shows a completely different view of Kat than was previously presented in the film. Change is shown in this part of the film when Kat confesses her love and lets her emotions flow in tears while she reads her poem in front of the entire class. The Kat presented in the previous scenes of the film never would have allowed herself to be seen in such a vulnerable way; her previous attitude was tough, distant and more masculine. • 6. Understanding The Value Of Health Economics Understanding the value of health economics is very important during this rapidly changing environment. Health economics is the study of how transactions or connections between health and the resources needed are made and of the bottom line results (Getzen, 2013). Resources include money but also people, materials and time that could have been used in other ways. Our healthcare needs may be unlimited but the resources we have to satisfy them are not. We must make careful choices about which needs are most important and how to manage limited resources. Decision makers take the information given to make choices about what new and existing medicines and technologic advances will be used. Vaccines for example and other new technologies can be very costly. Therefore, we must measure whether or not the benefits outweigh the costs (Teitelbaum Wilensky, 2013). Health is important to us as individuals. As stated in Getzen (2013), health is so precious that its value exceeds that of all the things we possess. Healthcare is one way of preventing and treating illness and disease. Our country must make good decisions now for our future health. We need to carefully evaluate and implement modern and emerging health technologies and advances (Getzen, 2013). Americans needs to look at health care policy and understand what works and what does not work. Health care policy and government involvement benefits society in many ways including improved access to care, improved quality of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Essay on History of the Democratic Republic of Congo Prior to 1960, Belgium and their King, Leopold ruled the Congo region. They held great interests in the rubber industry and created harsh labor camps that exploited the people. That is why after gaining independence in 1960, the nation then known as Zaire plunged into chaos. Military unrest coupled with oppressive warlord throughout the region made it a very unstable state, ready to collapse. Nowadays, U.N. peacekeeping forces hold posts in the nation to maintain its stability. That is another reason why U.S. economic involvement in the DRC is seen as very important, because it produces stability in the region, leading into the next point. As stated at the end of the last paragraph, the U.S. must prevent more military destabilization in the region through both military and economic means. The early mission statement of the United States Africa Command states that the West s long term strategic interests in Africa are clear: we must thwart the growth of terrorism and transnational crime; we must prevent destabilizing mass migrations; and we must maintain secure trade links. Through military invention and economic aid, both the DRC and other nations in Africa as well as the United States will benefit with increased national security. In 2001, the UN blamed the various factions that fought a brutal five year war in the DRC for deliberately extending the conflict in order to plunder the country s extensive supplies of gold, diamonds, and timber (World Geography). Through the Peace, Security and Cooperation framework the U.S. is able to maintain a Special Envoy for the Great Lakes and the DRC to prevent further exploitation of resources. The Envoy has a main goal of locating and destroying the main root cause of instability in the region. • 8. Analyzing A Wide Range Of Environmental Data PMF is a mathematical receptor model that is used to analyze a wide range of environmental data. The model has been widely used in air, water, and lake and ocean sediments research to determine the sources of pollutants. This model reduces the large number of variables in intricate analytical data sets to just a few combinations known as source types and contributions while providing very robust uncertainty estimates and data diagnostics. The identification of the source types is achieved by matching the different sources with the measured profiles of individual sample chemical constituents. The source contributions are basically used to determine how much each source/factor contributed to the pollutants in the analyzed sample(s). The PMF ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The model limits the factor loadings and scores to only the non negative values, which significantly minimizes the uncertainty that may be caused by any rotating factors. The mass balance equation for the PMF model accounting for all the m chemical species in n samples as contributions from p independent sources can be written as shown in Eq. (3.8); X_ij= ∑_(k=1)^pв –’g_ik f_kj+ e_ij Eq.(3.8) where, Xij = the elemental concentration for the jth species on the ith day, gik = the contribution of kth factor to the receptor model on the ith day, fkj = the proportion of the kth factor that is species j, and eij = the residual for the jth species on the ith day. While using the PMF model, there exists a set of fundamental, natural physical constraints or checks that have to be obeyed. These include: The model must reproduce the original data. i.e., the model must explain all the observations in the input data set. The expected/ predicted source compositions must all have non negative values. Any given source cannot have a negative proportion of an element or any other given pollutant species. • 10. Breaking Home Syndrome Analysis Breaking Home Ties: Rockwell s Interpretation of the Empty Nest Syndrome The feeling of grief and loneliness parents may feel when their children leave home for the first time in order to live on their own or attend a college or university is known as the Empty Nest Syndrome. When my parents and I watched my older brother venture out of the only home he had known for eighteen years to begin a new chapter of his life, I personally felt this syndrome s effects. I had to adjust to him no longer sitting at the dinner table with us every evening or giving me rides to school in the morning or walking the halls with me at school, and I know that my parents will also have to learn to adapt once more when I myself graduate high school in a year and a half. This empty feeling, caused by the abrupt absence of someone who has always been in your life and is suddenly not around anymore, is most likely what also captivated Norman Rockwellduring 1954 when he painted Breaking Home Ties. Through the inspiration of Rockwell s own personal troubles, as he mourned the absence of his three sons who had all recently left home for universities, he was able to tell a story similar to his own through his painting. His depiction of a farmer boy and his father and dog waiting for a train that will take the young man to college conveys the sense of poignancy that all American families will experience when their children inevitably leave them to begin their own individual lives. Most critics keep health care related debates to the small scope of Canada and the USA. However, neither the USA nor Canada s systems are ranked in the top 25 for overall efficiency (The Patient Factor). In order for Canada s healthcare system to improve, there must be changes made in regards to major problems; financial aspects, timely access, and the doctor shortages. Evidence shows that the best healthcare systems in the world are founded on a strong primary care system (TheStar.com). This survey included over 3,700 physicians in eight different countries. The results showed Canada continuously had the lowest overall adaption rate; early adaption of technologies is a key element to sustaining healthcare systems (Williams). Canada is a slow adapter of innovative technologies that could enhance the quality of health care services and improve the health and quality of life of Canadians (Daniel Muzyka). There is plenty of evidence to validate that many Canadians are incorrect in believing that they have the best healthcare system in the world . Spending on healthcare in Canada continues to outpace the government spending program in growth and is limiting public investments in other areas that would make for an overall more effective society (Daniel Muzyka). Canada is the 10th highest spender, spending an average of $2,600 per Canadian per year. Recent studies by Brett Skinner have looked at trends in the annual growth rates for provincial healthcare expenditures and total government revenue. He found that if recent trends persist, provincial government spending on healthcare will consume more than half of total revenues from all sources in six of 10 provinces by the year 2020 (Neil Stuart). • 12. Little Endian And The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Each... 1. Describe Big Endian, Little Endian and the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. Memory is a lot like a large array but rather than using the term index to indicate specific locations in memory; we use the term address . Each address stores one element at the level of the byte (Curran, 2006). Although some data types exceed 1 byte; they can be assigned to span more than a single byte to accommodate larger values. Within a byte the value is determined by checking the bits right to left. This means that the right most $#$#0$#$# can be o or 1 value and any bits towards the left indicate a higher value. There are two ways in which data can be stored in memory. The little endian approach stores new values in a way that starts at the left and expands to the right, so that each new piece of data is added to the right , ... He added a fifth stage, adjourning, in the 1970s. This theory is based and focused on team development and behaviour, and the stages and changes the team makes as they mature and grow. It emphases that relationships will establish, and the leader changes their leadership style as the team progresses. This development of team behaviour and managementstyle can be seen plainly in the Tannenbaum and Schmidt Continuum, how the authority and freedom extended by the leader to the team grows while the control of the leader decreases. Compromises and changes may be required to enable progress, so everything is fair and safe within the team. The third stage is norming, which means that agreement and accord largely forms among the team and its members. The disagreements that happen in the first two stages have decreased, and roles within the team have been firmly established. Also, the aims and objectives set by the leader are done without disagreement. Big decisions are made by group agreement. Smaller decisions may be given to individuals or small teams within group. Throughout this investigation, I will be conducting a number of experiments to help solve whether or not heart rate is affected by exercise. My aim is to identify the difference of every volunteer s heart rate and take down how old they are so I can evaluate whether or not the age of a person make a difference in their bpm (beats per minute). Many people know when you exercise for long periods of time; your breathing becomes more shallow and quick. The main human organ system used when exercising is the respiratory system. The reason I have chosen this specific activity is because I think it will produce more interesting results than a basic exercise, such as running. I managed to gather a total of 10 people to help conduct my experiment. Four people for year 9, three for year 7 and three for sixth form. The reason I have chosen at least three people per age group is because it is the smallest number of people you can have to find an accurate average. As said, I have chosen four people for the year 9 age group. This is because the heart rates of the first original three people varied far more than in the other two groups. I then decided to bring a fourth person so they could help justify my results and show they are as valid as possible. There are three variables in my experiment. The amount of time, the pulse rate and the age of the people. I asked my volunteers to skip for five short but different periods of time. These time periods varied from 30 seconds to 2 and a half minutes. I asked the people who had volunteered to jump for the given time, and straight after jumping, count their pulse rate for 20 seconds (which was timed) and I would then multiply it by three, to give a total of 60 secind/1 minute. You can see the results fit very well with what was expected to occur. You could see that the heart rate was increasing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Isabel Allende s first novel, La casa de los espГritus the reader is introduced to her use of magic as a means which enables women to feel sustained in times of difficulty and which provides them with a power base (Bennett, C. 2003:174). Therefore, Allende quite clearly outlines magical properties as essentially feminine (Shaw, D. 1997:116) and spirituality in all its forms as a province of the female of the species (Hart, S. 2005:275) only. The two companies have stores all over the midwest. This is the area where hunting, and fishing is more popular and practiced. • 33. Night Owl Analysis Bay Area locals, Guy Fox, deliver a feel good album, Night Owl, that could possibly sum up the direction of this past summer s sound, alongside with a good look into the future of new music, as the seasons change. Indie rockers Peter Granquist (vocals, drums, percussion), Nate Witherbee (vocals, synthesizer, guitar, piano), Greg Waters (guitar, saxophones, synthesizer) and Charlie Moore (vocals, bass, synthesizer, organ) experiment with synths, sweet melodies, and a distinct tone that has the ability to immortalize feelings flawlessly. Night Owl offers different moods and feelings throughout the album, orchestrated by playing with a simple recipe of sounds, presented in a new light each time, such as the first two tracks. Antique Furniture sets the tone and has the right amount of horns, and funky attitude, that is softened with a persistent synth. One of the greatest intros on the album would be for the track, Mind s Eyes. This track is an instant mood lifter, that gets you moving with a catchy guitar riff, and a solid bass line that gives the song support. The strategy of pastiche is present in the film Pulp Fiction (1994) by Quentin Tarantino and the artistic photographic series Living in Hell and Other Stories by Tom Hunter. Through these artworks the audience is able to identify a range of textual works that imitate the style or character of particular artwork, film or literature. Tarantino stated, I always hope that if one million people see my movie, they see one million different movies . Elements from Hollywood movies such as weapons, costumes, camera angles, themes and famous scenes are injected into Pulp Fiction . His film blurs the line between cinematic styles and genres. Intertextuality is a significant factor within Tarantino s work, as by reinventing the old he is able to preserve originality and create a sense of dimension within his work. Tarantino refers to Pulp Fiction not as a movie but as multiple movies. An example of pastiche within the film is present in the scene in which Marcellus Wallace coincidentally recognises Butch in his car while walking across the street. This action mimics the scene from Alfred Hitchcock s Psycho where Marion s boss recognises her as he crosses at traffic lights. Through this pastiche Tarantino is able to show his appreciation and influence of Hitchcock s infamous films while also applying the scene in a postmodern context. Another occurrence of pastiche appears in Butches weapon of choice; a baseball bat and chainsaw. These weapons of choice pay homage to the films Walking Tall and Texas Chainsaw Massacre ... With a government representing the views and will of the people, voters possess a significant responsibility that is capable of impacting the nation as a whole; but when misused or mishandled, can result in undesired repercussions. In many countries, youth are granted the ability to vote at the age of 18. However, the question of whether the votingage should be reduced to 16 has been debated nationwide for numerous years. While most individuals under the age of 18 are still in school and live with their families two factors that encourage turnout and make informed decisions (Wagner, Joahnn, Kritzinger, 2012, 372), the reasoning falls short. This is because many youth are incapable of forming their own decisions and are limited to the consent of a guardian in many aspects. Young people below the age of 18 lack the motivation, knowledge and ambition to participate in the electoral process (Zeglovits, 2013, 250) and will not challenge the government to respond to their needs (Wagner et al. 2012, 373). In 2012 alone three hundred and seventy four farmers and farmworkers lost there lives due to work related injuries, and every day a staggering one hundred and sixty seven agricultureworkers suffer a work related injury(CDC 2012). I think we have it hardwired in our brains that bad things only happen to other people, and nothing bad could happen to ourselves, that s not the case.
