The Matrix Plato
The Matrix (1999) presents to viewers a computer hacker known as Neo. By day, Neo (his alter ego is
Mr. Anderson) is a computer programmer, and at night he sells hacked software. Morpheus, a
character who attempts to awaken humans from a dreamlike trance known as the Matrix, solicits the
assistance of Neo.
Morpheus offers Neo the chance to see the truth about the world in which he lives. Neo, and other
humans as well, are housed as biochemical food for the artificial intelligence that controls the planet.
Neo wages a war in a secret underground, where he fights with Morpheus against the agents who
protect the parasitic machines who live off the heat and electrochemical energy humans produce with
their bodies.
Neo discovers that the machines ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While it is unlikely that humans will allow artificial intelligence to develop a parasitic relationship
with them, The Matrix gives the viewer pause to wonder what else in the world may not be real as
perceived. Everything we perceive has the potential to be an illusion. It is only knowledge that will
give us the power to be free.
Likewise, people who eschew experience and education are no better off than the prisoners chained to
the stone. The uneducated have limited knowledge and less power. It is not until, like Neo, they break
the chains confining them and are willing to explore new worlds, that they may understand reality.
From The Matrix we learn that it is realistic to be skeptical of the world; government is deceitful.
Elected officials use their knowledge to make decisions on behalf of ignorant people. Leaders find it
incumbent on themselves to make all decisions related to the health, safety and well being of people
whom they rule. Elected officials in contemporary politics view this decision making as a necessity,
thinking that because they are in control and have power, they are the ones who know more than the

A limited partnership allows Monica and Rachel to become general partners each with unlimited
liability and full control of the business. Registering myself as a limited partner protects my
investment by limiting my liability to the amount I provided. If the business were to be sued, I would
only be required to pay the amount I invested unlike a regular partnership in which my liability would
be unlimited. As Phoebe neither wishes to be involved in the business nor made an investment, she
will be an employee. Limited partners are considered to be more like investors and so without an
investment there is no indicator of her liability (James, 2014, p513). 1.2 ADVANTAGES AND

College Parties In College
Attending university for the time is an experience like no other. Many students go from being coddled
by their parents to complete independence. This newly found freedom can result in a couple of
outcomes, this can be categorized as those who choose to party and those who don t. Partying is a
university stereotype, you see it movies and have most likely heard some eventful stories from a
family member. Dissimilar to high school, there are no popular kids throwing exclusive parties,
everyone is welcome. Yet the necessity to conform to the party crowd is still present. It has become a
societal norm. Almost like, if you re not partying, you re not attaining the full university experience.
Overall partying can be described as an event/celebration in which most people are enjoying
themselves, typically letting loose through the use of alcohol and drugs. Everyone parties for a
different reason. For myself, the world of partying often leads to meeting new people, along with the
liquid courage, socializing becomes easier. For other s it may act as release. After another continuous
week of studying and completing assignments, partying can act as something to look forward to. In
university, students typically party from Thursday to Saturday every weekend. Whether it s a going to
house party, bars or clubs, there is always something going on.
After a long week, students usually decide what they re going to do, typically meeting up on Thursday
to begin the weekend. The duration

The Psychodynamic Approach To Depression
Psychological issues are often regarded as being permeant. Patients are so called cured and receive
treatment to better themselves but are referred to also as being in remission . The stigma of the being
labeled as having a mental illnesses is a permanent label that follows a person everyday of their life. A
strength of the sociocultural approach to depression is the treatment involved in helping the patient.
Through the use of treatments such as family therapy, the psychologist is treating the family as a
whole rather than the single person who is depressed. Family therapy has the ability to drastically
increase the chances of a person to recover from depression and enter remission. Society is primarily
responsible for individuals for causing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Genetic variants have a small effect on overall risks of developing diseases and disorders but a need
for environmental factors as well is required to develop disorders such as depression. From the
biological approach, an issue arises with the claims that genes have the ability to cause depression due
to the fact that studies have shown no single gene has the power alone to cause someone to develop
depression which shows it is necessary for a sociocultural factors to be involved. A study was done to
determine the extent of the relationship between twins and the genetic inheritance of depression.
Nurnberger and Gershon (1982) conducted a study to reveal the relationship between genes and
depression (Miller 47). The study included a review of the results of seven twins who suffered from
depression. The concordance rates for depression were higher in monozygotic twins, 65% average,
than dizygotic twins, 14% average. Although the concordance rates were higher in monozygotic twins,
the concordance rate is still very low in comparison to 100%. Therefore, the study cannot definitely
state anything that says genetic inheritance is 100% responsible for the concordance rates without
taking into considerations environmental and psychological factors. The sociocultural level of analysis

Using ‘Ruins of a Great House’ and One Other Poem
Using Ruins of a Great House and one other poem, which you have studied, compare and contrast
how poets present a sense of place.
A sense of place can be defined and can be used in many different ways by various different people.
To some, it is a characteristic that some places have and some do not, while to others it is a feeling or
perception held by people and not by the place itself. It is often used in relation to those characteristics
that make a place special or unique, as well as to those that adopt a sense of dependable human
attachment and belonging. Homes are often regarded as a place where people get attached and build
relationships with their homes. They are often where most feel a sense of place. It is why most regard
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tone of The House is extremely important because it communicates the exact mood of the poem
to the reader. This poem has a very gloomy and sad tone. We know this by looking the sounds that are
used and the rhyme scheme. There is no rhyme scheme for this poem and this helps to bring out the
gloomy tone that the poet is trying to achieve. If there were a rhyme scheme then the poem would
sound more bright and rhythmic, almost having a sense of musicality to it, which would spoil the
overall tone of the poem. This gloomy tone can also be seen in Ruins of a Great House when talking
about ancestral murderers who colonised areas and destroyed cultures. Walcott has no rhyme scheme
for this poem which once again echo s how gloomy this house is because again if a poet uses rhyming,
it adds a happy tone to most poems and almost create a childish effect, which in both poems does not
occur.
Finally we can see how both poets present a sense of place in different ways. Sweeney uses aspects of
nature to present his home and how gloomy it is, but how even though home can be disgusting,
anyone can survive it. Whereas Walcott uses other people to create his own aspects of what a sense of
place is, for example the colonisers have created that place and made it theirs, and they feel a sense of
place in it, as do the slave, but this sense of place isn t always

Information Systems Designed For Business
When we look at information systems designed for business, we tend to recognize that it involves
integrated and co ordinate network of components, which combine together to convert data into
information. In a recent book entitled a brief look into history author sage, explains that Information
system is essentially made up of five components hardware, software, database, network and people.
These five components integrate to perform input, process, output, feedback and control. (Sage, 1968).
The structure of information is composed of input, output, constraints, purpose, Boundaries. To
explain these functions we will look at a business. A call center will be an example so we will be able
to understand and recognize functions
The first function is Input, According to author Bagad, input purpose is to allow the user to enter data,
and other features include mouse and keyboard are used to insert direct information to open up certain
files or information. The choice of the input depends on the amount of data entry. The software
programs that is available to the agents so they could navigate information for user s customers who
have accounts or future customers. If there is an input system it is often follow by output .The purpose
of the output is to display the results of computer processing. A computer based information system
often requires a number of output devices as a monitor, printer and sound card.
When a call center representative enters suggested data or certain

Life and Experiences of Tragey in Poe s Poetry and Stories...
The life and experiences of Poe are all incorporated into his poetry and stories. His life was filled with
tragedy. Poe s parents died when he was young, his foster mother, siblings and wife all died as well.
On top of this throughout his life he accumulated debt and was constantly criticized by those around
him. Dreamland is a journey alone in the world of dreams searching for something greater in life
within what seems like a nightmare. Poe wrote this poem to show that people are constantly searching
for a certain aspect to make their lives better. Poe shows the importance of this search by his use of
imagery/symbols, sounds/words and figurative devices. The objects seen by the speaker and what they
represent help define the mood and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a very intense and has a dreamlike feel to it. Everything has no bottom or end, it is all limitless
and helps prove the strange place the speaker has come to. The intensity and mass of everything
shows how the speaker is alone and small in the new place. This hyperbole or exaggeration was used
by Poe to further prove the way the stranger in the new world feels overwhelmed and lost by the
sights. Lone waters lone and dead (18) shows an emotion of suffering and a greif of some kind. Poe
uses a lot of strong words to create the mood of alone and darkness in the poem.
Figurative devices are used in this poem to further develop the tone/mood, the environment/setting
and the senses the speaker is feeling in the poem. Poe gives the water an emotion. The sad waters is a
personification of the water being sad. This helps further explain the way the speaker is grieving or
suffering. Personification is also used when Poe describes the spirits and beings in the poem to be
human. This is shown in the lines Where an Eidolon, named NIGHT, on a black throne reigns

Summary Of The Selfish Gene By Richard Dawkins
In the book, The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins he elaborates on two very important phrases that
he will share throughout the entire book. This book will show how both individual selfishness and
individual altruism are explained by the fundamental law that I am calling gene selfishness. (6) I am
sure we all know the word selfishness pretty well, but to some altruism may be new. The way I view it
is that if someone is altruistic, than they do things that benefit the good of the group, species, or
simply, anyone but themselves. In this book we learn the difference in natural selection and how
selfishness and altruism effect those things. Dawkins will mainly relate his matter to different types of
animals and explain the biological changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main idea of the book was somewhat interesting, but science has never been by favorite subject .
But some things did pop out to me. This is a book about someone s theory of how animals and in way
even hums are what they are. This is something that based on my religion can be debatable but i do
fully understand where and why this information is stated. I do agree that humans should act, in way,
similar to animals because i have noticed with just some of my observations that the growing process
of these animals turn out to be marvelous creatures. I also know that humans are very selfish in many
ways and do not always focus on the final result because they are to occupied focusing on the now and
what they want now. If we were more like the altruistic behavioural species then we would definitely
be a much more successful kind. For example, a long time ago humans became up with the word
changing idea of electricity, factories, etc. then, it was the best thing to ever happen. Things got done
people were happy live was fantastic. Although today this advances are not necessarily helpful as
helpful to us. Of course i do know we would be nothing without them, but we are also suffering very
much with global warming and smog, etc.but way back when we didn t even think about all this. This
is a harsh example but in smaller portions, according to The Selfish Gene, animals would plan this out
better because they look at the good

The Human Eye s Ability
A. Purpose
The objective of this experiment is to demonstrate the human eye s ability to detect different colors in
the visible spectrum. In this experiment a red cross is drawn on a plain, white sheet of paper and
placed upon another clean sheet of paper. The student then stares at the red cross for sixty seconds
without taking their eyes off of the cross. Once the sixty seconds pass the sheet of paper with the cross
is quickly removed the clean sheet of paper underneath is visible. A faint blue green cross should be
clear on the clean sheet.
When examined, an object and its color, the image identified is a wavelength of light that wasn t

However, cones are the principal focus of this experiment. To them is attributed both color vision and
the highest visual acuity (HyperPhysics). Current understanding is that the 6 to 7 million cones can be
divided into red cones (64%), green cones (32%), and blue cones (2%) based on measured response
curves (HyperPhysics).
When one type of cone continuously sends the same signal to the brain, the cones hastily become
exhausted. Once one of the three types of cone becomes exhausted, the cone ceases to transmit signals
to the brain. Which causes the brain to assume the cones are tired and holds onto the image. However,
once the top sheet of paper is removed all that is shown is a white sheet of paper and white contains all
light energy. Since the red type cones are nonfunctioning, only the green and blue type cones receive
the wavelengths. This causes the brain to assume the signals it s receiving are a blue green colour
instead of an equal parts red blue green combination, which would form white.
This experiment hopes to show how the human eye detects multiple wavelengths of light, and how the
cones interact the brain. Moreover, the experiment desires to display, not only, how the cones work
individually, but to show how the cones work in unison with each other to produce the colors man
sees. The experiment also hopes to demonstrate the immense complexity contained within the human
eye.

Abdomen Case Study Essay
The sequencing that I will be using to assess the abdomen would be inspection, auscultation,
percussion, and palpation. I would inspect the abdomen for the shape of the abdomen, skin masses and
abnormalities. Inspection will give me clues whether I should percuss or palpate the abdomen. Then, I
would auscultate the abdomen for altered bowel sounds. It is important to auscultate the abdomen
first. Percussion and palpation tends to intensify peristalsis which can result to false interpretation of
bowel sounds (Jarvis, 2012). When I proceed to the patient s abdominal examination, it is important to
know the anatomy of the abdomen where each organ is located. I would percuss M.M s abdomen and
check for abnormal fluid and masses. According to Jarvis (2012), flank dullness upon percussion may
indicate fluid in the abdomen or ascites. I would do palpation last if not contraindicated. Palpation is
used for detection of masses and tenderness, but because of the pain that palpation may trigger, it
should be done in a careful manner. In M.M s case, I would still ... Show more content on

I would listen for abdominal bowel sounds to listen for air or fluid activity eliminating bowel
obstruction in my assessment. It is common for someone who has a ascites to have a normal bowel
sounds, but diminished bowel sound over the ascitic area (Jarvis, 2012). I would do percussion to a
patient who have ascites and listen for dull sound. I would do a light palpation of the abdomen if the
patient tolerates. It is important that I check his mental status, because the buildup of toxins in the
brain is common to someone who has a history of alcohol abuse. I would watch the patient for hepatic
encephalopathy. Since the liver is unable to remove toxins from the blood and accumulates in the
blood resulting in confusion or decreased mental function. I would also look for signs of ascites,
because liver failure can cause fluid buildup and

In today s digital age, development of new technology and weapons are at an alarming rate, hence
arises the need to stay ahead of advancements in order to properly defend the nation, as well as
coalition forces and allies. In this period of warfare, the number one threat comes in the form of air

be prevalent. Following World War I, and into the beginning of World War II, the United States of

tensions with Japan, yet was not approved until late 1940. The plan called for increasing the number
of 3 inch guns from 135 to 472, as well as increasing the number of regiments to 80, which would
account for roughly 4,000,000 service men, solely for the defense of the continental United States.

Friar Lawrence Hero
For never was a story of more woe, than this of Juliet and her Romeo , was said in the tragic love story
of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This classic Shakespearean tragedy would not live up to
its name, if Friar Lawrence had not caused the deaths of these two star crossed lovers, Romeo and
Juliet. He had created the secret plans and gave most of the advice in the play, he did not check if the
plans worked and he was worried about getting caught throughout the play after helping either Romeo
or Juliet. This proves that Friar Lawrence is the cause for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Firstly, Friar
Lawrence was an advisor for both Romeo and Juliet and he created many plans in the play, so since he
helped the most, he started the events ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So smile the heavens upon this holy act, that after hours with sorrow chide us not (2.6.1 2), which was
a quotation said by Friar Lawrence as he was going to marry Romeo and Juliet. This shows that he
was doubtful about the whole marriage, but still went on with it. Also, in act 5, Friar Lawrence went
into the burial vault as Juliet was awakening to see Romeo dead and he told her, I ll dispose of thee,
among a sisterhood of holy nuns. Stay not to question, for the watch is coming. Come, go, good Juliet.
I dare no longer stay. In the quotation Friar Lawrence was very worried about getting caught as he was
hearing the watchmen, so he made a quick decision and left Juliet. By leaving Juliet, Friar Lawrence
had given Juliet a chance to kill herself, so if it wasn t for him he could have saved Juliet in the end.
Therefore, Friar Lawrence proves to be very doubtful. In conclusion, the holy Friar Lawrence is more
unreliable and profane than holy and saintlike. By giving most of the advice and plans, he caused the
conflicts, and not ensuring his plans are followed accordingly, created more problems and the fact that
the Friar was very skeptical made him cause the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. But if it wasn t for his
mistakes which caused the deaths, the play would not be as tragic and successful as Shakespeare

Rights And Sexual Feminism In Kate Chopin s The Awakening
In the 19th century, a group of people launched the suffrage movement, and they not only cared about
women s political rights, women s property and body autonomy. Born in that age, Kate Chopin was
aware of the importance of setting an example for those who were taken in by the reality to be an
inspiration. So we call her a forerunner of the feminist author for every effort she put in advocating
women s sexual liberty, their self identity and women s own strength.
When people were ashamed of talking about sexuality, Kate Chopin stood out and call for women s
sexual autonomy. The Awakening, a short story with purposeful title. It took place in New Orleans and

It s also the reason for some other people disagreed with the idea that Kate Chopin s feminist identity.
Elizabeth Fox Genovese, of Emory University, claims Kate was neither a feminist nor a suffragist, she
said so. She was nonetheless a woman who took women extremely seriously. She never doubted
women s ability to be strong. Kate wasn t a fighter for rights or liberty with this idea. She just shows
her sympathies to the individual in the context of his and her personal life society. One famous saying
by Rebecca West came to my mind, I, myself have never been able to find out precisely what
feminism is; I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that
differentiate me from a doormat. These so called feminist writers just performed their due duties and

The Ethics Of The Criminal Justice System
As the saying goes, hindsight is 20/20. It is easy to look back on the history of criminal justice and
scoff at the sometimes crude and barbaric methods of correcting criminal behavior. From speaking to
village elders to burning those who were deemed witches, human kind s endeavor to seek out and
punish bad behavior has been littered with what many could consider to be downright silly behavior.
Luckily though, all of that is in the past now, with our society and criminal justice system moving in a
scientific direction more so every single day. But is it really?
While many areas of criminal justice that seek out the truth have been enhanced by our growth in
technology, there still remains one discipline that has been praised by some and ... Show more content

It was not until the father of criminology, Cesare Lombrosso attempted to measure blood pressure to
detect lies in the late 1800 s that the modern polygraph s roots can be seen (Lewis Cuppari, 2009).
Soon after in the early 1900s, Vittorio Benussi expanded on Lombrosso s idea and included breathing
rate and pulse in the detection of lies. He even had a range of changes that constituted lies called the
Benussi ratio (Grubin Madsen, 2005). The foundation for the modern day polygraph had been laid,
and the controversy was about to begin.
The basic principle behind the physical responses to lying were narrowed down to skin conductance,
blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration (Lewis Cuppari, 2009). In short, psychologists believed that
a lie would cause at least one of these things to change, if only for a brief moment. John Larson and
Leonarde Keele put these variables all together and devised a machine that would measure and graph
all of these things in real time, aptly named the polygraph (Lewis Cuppari, 2009).
These measurements mean nothing on their own, however. This research paper will dive deeper into
the overall interview process, but the polygraph test itself typically consists of two main types of
questions: control questions and relevant questions. Control questions are basic questions with easy
answers, used to determine a baseline and even to embarrass the subject in order to measure how they
react to such questions. Relevant

Rhetorical Devices In Genesis
Throughout the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy), the authors work to
create a clear picture of God s redemptive plan to bring reconciliation from Abram. In a way, Genesis
shows the struggle from paradise to pandemonium to plan in Primeval history. The verses point out
that sin is just getting worse. Specifically, the author of Genesis one through eleven uses rhetorical
devices to evaluate the snowball effect of sin leading to the need for God s intervention. In Genesis
one, readers see that creation is closest to God s heart. Genesis one, two, and three consists of two
different creation accounts. Throughout these accounts, it is clear that God is a God who separates
creation and fills it with good things. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eve took what God created to be good. Immediately after Eve does this, God looks for Adam and Eve
in the garden, hunting for them to start redemptive work. From the beginning of sin, God is trying to
undo the wrath of sin. Readers see sin snowball quickly when Adam and Eve start to blame each other.
Adam blames the woman and God for giving him the woman. Eve blames the serpent. What was
marriage to the full has turned into a fiasco. The Lord then gives consequences for the disobedience in
the garden. Sin creates consequences of separation, fear, shame, blame, and pain that ripple through
the rest of Genesis. Specifically, God puts the consequence of death on Adam. However, in the midst
of sin, readers see the protoevangelium (first presentation of the redemptive plan Jesus). The scripture
reads, And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he
will crush your head, and you will strike his heel (Genesis 3:15). From the beginning, the plan of
redemption on the cross through Jesus is highlighted to say that sin does not have the final word, and
neither does Satan.
After the fall, stories of severe sin floods through the rest of the primeval history. The first sin evident
is through Cain and Abel, Adam and Eve s children. Sacrifices begin to be offered after the fall. Abel
offers the Lord a lamb while Cain offers fruits. In a way, the redemptive plan is evident in that God

Second Paper #4 (Democracy)
A Proposition To Abolish Democracy
In the modern west, democracy is generally conceived as the most free regime. Democracy is uniquely
characterized by majority rule. This gives its citizens the privilege to vote, overturn, and motion, with
the purpose of best representing the desires of the population. Not only do societies strive for
democracy to gain political freedom, but also personal freedom. Traditionally, we equate government
intervention and regulation with harsh restrictions that devitalize our personal freedom, however,
according to Socrates; regulation is necessary in order to experience genuine freedom . In the
Republic, Socrates discusses his tripartite regime in which promotes optimal justice and happiness for
its citizens. However, if we fully accept Socrates republic, this does not necessarily mean we have to
reject democracy entirely. This idea will be furthered explored throughout the entirety of this essay.
While Socrates describes democracy as the fairest regime, he refutes this claim by exposing the
disastrous effect lack of structure has in a democracy, producing only spurious pleasures and,
therefore, failing to achieve Socrates s justice, (demonstrated in his republic) which produces genuine
pleasures that greatly benefit the individual and the city.

Pros And Cons Of School Uniforms
Should students wear school uniforms? This is a topic that has been thoroughly argued, yet to no
prevail on either side. I believe school uniforms overall impact children and the education community
negatively. There are many strong reasons to turn down this policy. These include how the uniforms
effect the children and their learning, the sneakiness behind school administrations who utilize this
system, and how the children feel about the uniforms.
First, is how the uniforms affect the children in a negative way. I know a family just a few houses up
the street whose kids go to a Catholic school. Religion set aside, they have to wear uniforms to school.
Often I see them getting out of the car, ripping off their bows and ties with a sort of disgust. My friend
from that family, Aaron, states on the topic, They are uncomfortable, which actually distracts me more
from learning and paying attention. This shows how school uniforms affect the learning environment
negatively and impact children in a negative way. Everyone has heard the phrase, if you get hurt it s
your own fault. But what if you never get the chance to be hurt? You ll never learn. It s the same way
with something as simple as clothing. If children wear vulgar clothing to school then you can talk to
them and tell them it s wrong. It is bad preparation for the real world if we are telling children what to
do, rather than letting them learn to better prepare themselves for the real world.
Next, is the sneakiness behind the administration and their altered statistics. Long beach California is a
town that incorporates school uniforms into their schooling. The district claims the academic success
and low violence rates are due to the school uniforms. They did leave out the other improvements in
their districts including, promotion of conflict resolution, peer mediation, and parental involvement.
The superintendent of this district made a comment to the Harvard Education Letter stating, It is really
hard to know exactly what is causing the positive effect. This shows how districts are hiding other
information to promote how well uniforms fix problems when in reality, it could be many things. The

Delta Airlines Research Paper
Delta airlines first started off in 1924 as the world s first aerial crop dusting organization. It was first
known as Huff Daland Dusters. This was formed due to the weevil which is a beetle that was
destroying the cotton crops. If this were to never have happened in history then we might not have had
the company Delta as we know it today. The company first started out in Georgia but had a very
unsuccessful first season due to the lack of cotton crops in the area. The company was forced to move
its headquarters to Louisiana where more of demand of the industry was located. (History of Delta
Airlines, n.d.) C.E. Woolman was vice president and field manager of Huff Daland Dusters and it
became the largest privately owned fleet in the world with 25 small planes and a number of large
aircrafts called Ton of Dust. Even with this success Woolman realized that the dusting company was
only able to be fruitful during the summer months. He then moved the operation to Peru ... Show more

Pan Am, Comair, and Northwest Airlines. This added jet airliners to its fleets and set a coast to coast

Marketing, Web Design and Web Development
Web design is a blend of creativity and technicality, or graphic design and web development. As a
result of this blend the industry s necessary skills, necessary education, and job offerings can be
variable. Individuals interested in this industry should attempt to vary their skill sets as much as
possible. Companies such as a Forix, combine marketing, design and technical skills to customize
their products. Additionally, individuals should expect to discover that some careers will rely more
heavily on technical skills, while other careers rely more heavily on design skills.
The web design and development industry are relatively new. This modern industry was built off of
the inventions of 1974, when computer researchers invented the internet protocol suite (TCP/IP).
TCP/IP is somewhat like human communication: when we speak to each other, the rules of grammar
provide structure to language and ensure that we can understand each other and exchange ideas.
Similarly, TCP/IP provides the rules of communication that ensure interconnected devices understand
each other so that they can send information back and forth. (Google Chrome Team, 2010, pg. 5).
It was not until 1989 that the internet was conceived. A man named Tim Berners Lee created the
World Wide Web server through HTML or, hypertext markup language. Just like humans have a
standard of living, the internet had not reached a suitable

Importance Of A Piece Of Writing
When you read an article, a book, a newspaper, or even a letter, often times you do not think of all the
complexities that the piece of writing incorporates. Every word, every sentence, every idea expressed
is carefully thought out before it is presented in writing. This is because the writer must keep in mind
their audience whilst they write, some might even go as far as to say that the writer has obligations to
the reader. On the other hand, if you stop to contemplate it, you realize that writing is equally
important to the writer as it is to the comprehensibility of the reader. Both types of people play a
crucial role in making a piece of writing what it is. I stand in agreement with authors Mark Twain and
Ursula K. Le Guin, along with an anonymous English professor at Ohio University, who all make
claims that correspond to one greater message that the teamwork between writers and readers is what
promotes the success of a piece of writing. Mark Twain heavily emphasizes the importance of
proofreading writing for clarity. Referring to the revision of a written piece, Twain says, The time to
begin writing an article is when you have finished it to your satisfaction. By that time you begin to
clearly and logically perceive what it is you really want to say. Twain is saying that once you have
written your piece, you have only finished putting your thoughts into words on the paper, but it isn t a
well crafted piece of writing just yet; the first draft isn t the final. You

November 11, 2016 Island: poetry and history of Chinese immigrants on Angel Island
Chinese immigration to the United States began in large number during the California Gold Rush.
Many people came to the country hoping to find jobs and fortune for themselves and their families
back in China. Among those immigrants many stayed in the country and others went back to China.
The point of entry for these Chinese immigrants to California between 1910 and 1940 was the Angles
Island in San Francisco. The Island was like that of the Ellis Island in New York. These islands were
the immigration detention headquarters for the immigrants waiting on their medical examinations and
immigration papers. It was also the holding ground for deportees awaiting transportation back to the
mother land.
Island: poetry and history of Chinese immigrants on Angel Island, by Him Mark Lai is a collection of
the poems that was restored from the walls and barracks of the Angles Island. The author had selected
the sixty nine poems which were classified into different categories to show the history of the
immigration. The five section are The Voyage, The Detainment, The Weak Shall Conquer, The
Westerners, Deportees, Transients. Each of these sections includes the restored poems found in the
barrack and the oral histories from peoples who spend their time in the Island, Immigration
Interpreters, Immigration Inspectors.

The Prince And Discourse On Livy
In his famous works, The Prince and Discourse on Livy, Machiavelli meticulously discusses the
importance of religion in the formation and maintaining a political order. Machiavelli regards religion
as a political tool used by political elites for political purposes. He argues that the appearance of
religion is good while the practice of it is harmful. One of the memorable passage from the Prince that
supports Machiavelli s claim is when he advices the prince to not to be good, and the prince should
cultivate the appearance of the religion if he wants to maintain his state. The prince, he writes, should
appear all mercy, all faith, all honesty, all human, all religion he adds and nothing is more necessary to
have than this last quality (The Prince, 70). Here, Machiavelli argues, in order for the prince to
maintain his state, it is necessary for the prince to go to the source of morality and by this he means
religion. Thus, Machiavelli view on religion is nothing but a necessary tool for maintaining a political
authority.
Furthermore, Machiavelli stresses the importance of the religion as a political mean to control and
govern the masses. In the Discourse on Livy, Machiavelli uses the example of how Numa the founder
of Roman religion, manipulates the Roman people by using religion to maintain order and peace.
Machiavelli praises the wisdom of Numa for inventing a religion to control a very ferocious Romans.
In praising Numa, Machiavelli writes: As he found a very

The Piano Sonata Op.35 No.2, By Johann Sebastian Bach Essay
Macdonald believes in the individuality of the keys. Moreover, in the history of the keyboard music,
the work developed by Johann Sebastian Bach during the Baroque period entitled, The Well Tempered
Clavier, is harmonically and musically substantial since he uses a pedagogical way to state the
individuality of each key signature; he demonstrates a preference for sharps rather than flats. He
chooses F sharp in both books of preludes and fugue. In the second movement of the Piano Sonata
Op.35 No.2, the Scherzo is written in the key of E flat minor. However, Chopin ends this movement in
the relative key with a G flat major chord. The key of G flat is closely related to the Key of B flat
minor as the relative key of E flat minor, which is the subdominant of B flat minor. Musical Analysis
and Performance Chopin wrote three piano sonatas: Sonata Op. 4 No. 1 in C minor, Sonata Op. 35 No.
2 in B flat minor, and Sonata Op. 58 No. 3 in B minor. Scholars agree with the idea that Chopin had a
sort of appreciation for minor keys in this type of work. Also, these sonatas are examples of Chopin s
interest in the older tradition of the large forms. Chopin demonstrated acceptance of the traditional
concepts of the sonata form. For instance, he uses double bars and repeats marks at the close of the
exposition. The Sonata Op.35, No. 2 in B flat minor was composed in 1839 in France but, the third
movement of this sonata was composed and played separately in 1837. This sonata

Individuality In Otzi The Iceman s Windguard Way
Individuality
Individuality is unique, characteristics that distinguish one person from another. Walt Disney is a
modern day entrepreneur who distributes individuality through his animations and determination. He

Piaget And Piaget Similarities
The human brain has always been a subject of great interest to psychologists and researches. Over the
years, many theorists have developed different models and approaches on how the mind works and
what happens behind the scene when learning occurs. Scientifically speaking, learning theorists have
been concerned about areas of psychology of learning which emphasizes human cognition or
intelligence as a special endowment enabling man to form hypotheses and develop intellectually in
other words cognitivism which is also known as cognitive development
(Teachinglearningresources.pbworks.com, 2011). Therefore, cognitive development is concerned
about how learning, problem solving and memory works along with how cultural differences affect
the way we view our own academic achievements, language development, and much more (Feldman,
2010). Two famous influential theorists of cognitivism are Jean Piaget (1896 1980) and Jerome Bruner

theories are also fundamentally different.

The Toronto Star as a Local Newspaper
Local Canadian daily newspapers pose an important role in communication and media industries. The
continuing publications of local newspaper outlets encompass articles, news, advertisements, and can
be accessible either online or through print. Newspapers are parted into diverse segments of political
events, entertainment, crime, business, sports, and the weather to name a few categories. By
constructing different categories, the diverse matters create a space for readers to participate in local
and global public spheres. The public sphere permits individuals to discuss freely regarding areas
ranging anywhere from lifestyle to societal dilemmas, evoking conversation and debate with the
possibility of influencing political action. Journalists and the local newspaper open up the sphere to
interested parties who then converse on issues of mutual interests, trailed by a common opinion or
finding, to be made by either the writer or the readers of the media outlet. It is difficult to imagine how
life would have functioned without the emergence of newspapers perhaps the bourgeois would still
have represented the sphere of private people coming together as the public. The Toronto Star is an
excellent example of a local newspaper and thus, will be analyzed in terms of its contribution in
fostering the public sphere through its content, along with its relationship with its readers and

Keats Concerned With Money
According to Porscha Fermanis, substantial cricticism on Lamia posits that the poem is observed that
this poem is concerned with money (Fermanis, 2009, p. 99) and that Keats s own anxiety over money
during the composition of Lamia resonates throughout the poem (Kelvin Everest summarized in
Fermains 99) but Keats represents his view about money in this way that it relays the large debate
about the effects of trade and commerce on the social, economic and political condition of England
(Fermanis, 2009, p. 99). Marjorie Levinson, who follows Marxist and Freudian principles of fetishism,

Lamia focuses on this inability of his. The poet wants to say that things aren t as simple as they appear
to be by exposing the selfishness and falseness of Lycius love despite it being a tale of romance; thus
creating an ambiguity. Lamia focuses on Lycius s inability to distinguish between his private dreams
of pleasure and the social world outside himself. Lycius is characterized as a romantic dreamer, a male
lover, who fails to see his lover as an individual other. Lamia is objectified by Lycius as something
that serves the purpose of stimulating his imagination and fulfilling his desires only, as he sees her
more as a part of his dream than his reality. What seems to lie at the heart of Keats romances, and
more specifically in Lamia, is that romantic love is nothing more than a selfish feeling that comes to
satisfy personal desires without any regards. How Lycius conceptions of reality are shaped by his
romantic perception is exemplified by Keats throughout the poem. Romance and Lycius s romantic
love has been linked with egotistical and selfish desires by Keats who associates female respect and
idealization more with Lycius s desires for fame and glory than anything else (Schulkins, 2014, p.

Examples Of Format A Resume
1 Format your resume. It is vital to make the right first impression to your prospective employers
because the first thing that will jump into their sight is how well organized your resume is. In most
cases, your resume will not get a thorough reading at the first time no matter how well written.
Therefore, it is a good idea to make your resume attractive and readable by formatting. There are some
useful tips for you to format your resume. First, keep your resume short and simple. Most people do
not need more than two pages unless you have extensive related skills and experience. Second, invite
employers attention by using wide margins and a logical format. A logical format contributes to the

3 Make your content shine. The description of your education and work experience is the core of your
resume, which is also the section that employers will mainly focus on. Therefore, making your content
interesting and descriptive will enable your resume to stand out from competitors. Here are some ways
that can help your resume gets noticed. First, use active voice and expressive verbs to describe the
specific things that you have done. These can highlight your ability and skills, and spice up your
resume to make it stand out. For example, if you were an administrative assistant, you might want to
use words such as scheduled and coordinated . You can use them by writing Scheduled and
coordinated appointments. Another good way to make your content shine is to put more emphasis on
your achievements and accomplishments. By emphasizing the results you have delivered with specific
facts and highlighting the ways you have added value in the past, you will be able to demonstrate your
ability and skills for solving problems with convincing evidence. The last effective way is to choose a
descriptive title for your previous job position. For instance, instead of saying you were a secretary,
say you were an administrative assistant. In addition, think about how well the title can describe the
job. For example, manager is a vague concept

Globalization Theory
Globalization Theory Globalization theory is defined as an approach that addresses the development
of the global resurgence of religion (Christiano et al., 2016). With the resurgence of religion came
Fundamentalism, which originated in American Protestantism. Fundamentalists where known for
practicing the essential fundamentals of Christianity, fighting back the modernization of religion. T.K
Oommen (1994) defines fundamentalism as text without context ; meaning the scriptures written back
in history where relevant to that history and culture at that time and place (Christiano et al., 2016).
Such texts without context then simply disregard current settings. Fundamentalists believe their
religion is the objective truth, which as a result, defines other religions as myths (Christiano et al.,
2016). Globalization has shifted religious views in our society, from predominately Fundamentalist
based to more modern. This shift in religious views has resulted in religions catered to anyone and
everyone. Faith is what allows us to accept a truth, a truth believed by many, resulting in religion.
The Truth The three greatest Western religions are Christianity, Judaism, and Islam (Christiano et al.,
2016). Different societies interpret the Word of God differently. As stated in the text, the Word of God
can be magnified or reduced. As a result, this is considered one of the major downfalls of
globalization. Further in the text, it is stated that though religions, like Islam,

St Valentine s Day Massacre Research Paper
Crime, murder, and gangs were taking a hold of Chicago and one defining moment shocked everyone.
Two gangs, the Italian Sicilian mob and the Irish Jewish crew, had high tensions leading to many
confrontations. But the problems between the two seemed to stop after the St. Valentine s Day
Massacre on February 14, 1929. Then, the hunt for those responsible started. The crime itself involved
many people, killed many people, and even had effects after the crime. There were many well known

Moran and his gang after the attack, had been able to hold their territory for some time, but never
really came back from the massacre ( Feb. 2). Moran s gang had also lost a lot of strength and power
in Chicago in a short time (Benson, 1). One of the surviving victims, Frank Gusenberg, could have put
the case to rest, serving those responsible, but when asked who shot him, he said, No one shot me ,
and the case was left unsolved when Gusenberg later died from his wounds ( Saint 1). The two leaders
of the attack, were the ones with the strongest alibis. Al Capone and McGurn were not charged for the
crime and seemed to be free, but one gunman, Fred Burke, was arrested for the murder of a police
officer and not for the crime (Rosenberg, 3). Although Capone was not arrested for the crime, it did
put him on the federal government s radar and they had him arrested in 1931 for tax evasion
(Rosenberg, 4). McGurn did not fare well either. One day, after the seventh anniversary of the
massacre, he was gunned down in a bowling alley, ending his career (Rosenberg, 4). The massacre
was however, the last time Capone and Moran interfered with each other. This was because Bugs was

1. The main purpose of the maxim is to avoid injustice to the plaintiff as otherwise the plaintiff would

can be seen in Re Polemis and Furness, Withy Co Ltd. However, the test rests on the fault principle
rather than compensation , whereby once a person is established to have committed a tort, he has to
bear all the losses that arises as a consequence thereof. Consequently, the court uses the reasonable
foresight test in The Wagon Mound, as the Privy Council ruled that Re Polemis should not be
considered good law.
4. The Wagon Mound is the accepted test in Malaysia, approved in the case of Government of
Malaysia v Jumat bin Mahmud Ors.
5. In Bolton v Stone, the HOL held that the distance between the place where the ball was hit to the
edge of the field which was surrounded by a seven foot wall made injury to the plaintiff rather remote.
A person must only take reasonable steps against risks that may be materialise. Thus the cricket club
was held not liable for allowing cricket to be played without having taken extra precautions, such as
increasing the height of the fence. On the facts, the freak kick has hardly ever happened before.
Therefore, the school has no liability towards

Questions For Interviews With Nursing And Non Nursing Leaders
Eastern New Mexico University N425LP Nursing Leadership Practicum Questions for Interviews
with nursing and non nursing leaders 1. How do you get others to accept your ideas?  In my opinion
the way to get other to accept your ideas is you have to be a person of integrity, this is the first and
foremost key to being able to have others accept your ideas. Once you have respect with others your
words will have meaning and people will accept your ideas, doesn t mean they may agree with them
but they can at least respect them. 2. Are you more effective in a group or a one on one basis?  In my
opinion the key to being an effective leader is knowing how to be effective in both, whether you are
working in a group or if you are working one on one. It takes different strategies to work in either
situation. My personal strength is working one on one; I am passionate about seeing others grow
beyond what they think they are cable of doing. There should be no greater joy then seeing someone
you have mentored or an employee you have coached move up in their career, that is the key to being
a good leader help others grow. 3. How would you go about getting cohesion among a team who
disagree?  In my opinion the first key to cohesion is a common goal for the team to be focused on, if
the team is focused on accomplishing the same goal and they can see it in front them cohesion will
begin to happen. The other key weather a small or large team is making sure every person knows they

Organ Donation And Organ Organs Essay
Organ donations have encountered organ donor and organ supply rejections. Organ donation
challenges and demands increase as the organ shortages increase over the years. Organ donation s
mission is to save many terminally ill recipients at the end stages of their lives. The significance of the
organ donation is to give back to restore one s quality of life. The ongoing issues may present an
idealistic portrait of how these issues may be resolved. As a result, the mission of organ donations are
to restore organs for their patients and to promote, education, empower altruism and quality ethics as a
resource for existing and potential donors Organ donations has been perceived by potential organ
donors to be inhumane activity, a dishonor to the humanized process, circulation of illegal revenue,
and conceptual grounds needs to be consistent with altruism as the empowered outcome. Inhumane
activity is the overall reason why this proposal is for increasing organ donations which are frequently
rejected by incongruities with solidarity motivation as donor s measures. It differentiates ethical
principal amongst altruism and solidarity motivations for organ donations. The first issue being the
grounds is a limited form of additional problems limited to supporters (Saunders, 2012), which may be
independent or of individual groups, awaiting for the scarcity of organs to receive the next available
transplantation. Individuals are practicing degrading behaviors, illegal activity, and

Coral Reefs And Coral Reef
Coral reefs in Belize have declined in abundance over the past decade. The reefs have experienced
massive losses due to many local and global stressors such as bleaching, disease, sewage, overfishing,
climate change, and tourism damage. After Hurricane Iris in 2001, the coral reef in Belize was left for
the dead due to no growth. Direct impacts such as hurricanes are associated with the loss of
architectural complexity of coral habitats. The loss of this coral reef complication drives the decline in
diversity and species richness. The widespread mortality of corals also increases the chance of net reef
erosion. These impacts are expected to amplify calcium carbonate dissolution with negative
consequences for the entire reef framework ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Restoration projects strategically planned and mapped nursery sites and out plant sites. This is the
mostly widely used method for ecological recovery of coral reefs which is also called coral gardening.
Coral gardening framework has expanded to planting ten thousand rehabilitated corals on degraded
coral reefs in the Caribbean and Western Atlantic. This method is based on two factors: the collection
of coral fragments within nurseries and the out planting of nursery grown corals onto ruined reefs
(Lirman, 2016). First, engineers took a few factors into consideration what corals exist, and where, in
proximity to the restoration sites. Next, donor corals must be mapped and scoped to the location of the
nursery and out plant sites in the process. Past restoration projects in the Caribbean and Western
Atlantic are quite different from coral gardening. They depended on the transplantation of corals from
a donor site to a damaged site (Lirman, 2016).Coral gardening techniques are a little different because
this technique uses a small amount of corals within ex situ or in situ nurseries prior to outplanting onto
degraded reefs. The key to coral gardening is to maximize coral productivity and survivorship. While
corals are in the nursery, they can provide an expanding source of corals for ecological restoration. If
there s a high productivity at the nursery, they will no longer need to use more corals

Native American Mascots
Some team names and/or mascots related to Native Americans are not appropriate. Three teams at the
top of this controversial topic are the NFL s Washington Redskins, the MLB s Cleveland Indians, and
the MLB s Atlanta Braves. The appropriation of a team should be based on what the name itself
represents or was based off of. The use of Native American logos, names, and actions are not
acceptable. The term redskin is a slur, the Indians Chief Wahoo is flat out racist, and the Braves
tomahawk chop is a stereotype. The following examples will show the reasoning.
The first team that is widely debated about is the NFL s Washington Redskins. One reason why the
Washington Redskins name is not appropriate is because [redskin] is a dictionary defined slur
(Shapiro, Fox News). This is a good reason, since the term slur is a disparaging and minimizing
remark according to the dictionary. Another reason why the term redskin is not appropriate is that it
was used with an attitude of hostility in the late 19th and early 20th centuries (Dictionary.com). ...

The Cleveland Indians mascot, Chief Wahoo, is not appropriate. [Chief Wahoo] has survived...despite
countless protests by American Indian groups and activists over the way it demeans them and their
history (Tayler, Sports Illustrated). This shows that some Native American people find it offensive.
One more example is when Douglas Cardinal, a member of the Blackfoot tribe, and other activists say
that Chief Wahoo actively contributes to the mockery of American Indians (Tayler, Sports Illustrated).
This example, supports that Wahoo is inappropriate, since it is a distasteful representation of a

Air Superiority In The Military
Introduction (1/2) Air superiority is the single most important factor in deciding the outcome of a
modern conventional war. Military operations on land, sea, or in the air are extremely difficult, if not
impossible, for the side that doesn t control the sky. In the words of Field Marshal Bernard L.
Montgomery, If we lose the war in the air, we lose the war and we lose it quickly. (supremacy)
[introduction] ,
Main Point 1: Identify and describe a deficiency in a Joint Force Capability, significant risk
description, what is the risk for future joint operations?(1)
#Air Superiority# Counter air operations are designed to gain control of the air and wrest such control
away from an adversary. Air superiority is a condition on the spectrum of air control, which ranges
from adversary air supremacy, to air parity, to friendly air supremacy. The air superiority condition is
achieved when friendly operations are able to proceed without prohibitive interference from opposing
forces. In modern military operations, achieving this level of control of the air is a critical pre
condition for success. Air superiority provides freedom from attack, freedom to attack, freedom of
action, freedom of access, and freedom of awareness. Importantly, it also precludes adversaries from

Moreover, since the late 1990s, Myanmar s economy has worsened due to economic sanctions from
many countries such as the European Union, Canada, and the U.S. Foreign investments usually come
from China, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand. V. Market Research A. Market conditions in target
country 1. Existing demand There are several reasons why Myanmar should be a good place in
consideration for new investment opportunity. The country has vast and virtually untapped natural
resources. To this day, Myanmar remains one of the most mysterious and undiscovered destinations in
the world. The country seems appealing to many tourists around the world due to its unseen attractions
with regard to cultures, history, and natural beauty. There has been an increasing demand from outside
the country, especially from those travelers who wish to discover this resource rich country. Myanmar
is viewed as a good destination for people who want to have an exotic adventure, beach vacation, and
mountain experience. In addition, advocates supporting Burmese tourist claim that it is the only
method to help Burmese poor citizen to have a better standard of living and avoid isolating the country
from the rest of the world. Another important issue needed to be pointed

Bystander Effect Theory Essay
The Bystander Effect Theory
Have you seen a group of children bullying or pushing around another child? Did you stand by and
watch the situation and not intervene? If so, even with such a minor situation, you fell into the
bystander effect theory. The bystander effect happens every day in our lives and dates all the way back
to the Holocaust and even further back in history.
The bystander effect theory is a psychological phenomenon were people do not help others in
emergency situations when there are others present, the bigger the crowd the less likely chance of
someone stepping in to help. In 1964, there was a woman who was brutally murdered and there were
approximately 30 witnesses who did not intervene to save her. This case was ... Show more content on

People are just trying to live life and survive and if the situation is too out of control where we are
talking about guns being involved, then that s where people would draw a line and not do anything to
help. People start to fear that their own life becomes in danger if they try to intervene in something of
that magnitude. I can completely understand why people would be more hesitant when it comes to
helping others when they fear their own life can be taken from them. This type of fear is one of the
main reason the Holocaust happened and people did very little to help the Jews.
During the Holocaust there were mass killings involving huge crowds and a very massive witness
group. The Germans were brain washed to think the Jews were horrible people and they blamed them
for taking away their dignity as a country. There are reports of dozen of witness that stood by and did
nothing to help. A photographer took pictures of a man, a Luthuanian, beating 30 40 men to death with
a crow bar then watched as they sang their national anthem on top of the dead bodies. With a crowd so
enormous and so many people with hate in their hearts it would be so hard for someone to intervene in
that type of situation. Another example from the reading is a medical man was about to offer a
bandage to a Jewish lady but one of the guards approached them and threatened the medical s man
life. The guard instilled fear in this man and he went back and told

The Passage Of Time Has Resulted On National And...
The passage of time has resulted in numerous political parties around the world that deliberate on
national and international policy. These parties prioritize certain issues over others resulting in the
multitude of party platforms such as Green, Conservative, Liberal Democrat, etc. that are seen in
governments. Some of these parties are tactically suited to maintaining their original stance with
issues that have come up over time. For example, the green parties which have gained relevance
concurrently with environmental issues seem to maintain a fairly steady political stance. Other parties,
however, have long histories of voting and precedence in government that have sustained over
centuries such as conservative and liberal parties. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This hypothesis is that of national location. The philosophy behind this political positioning suggests
that in an issue such as European integration there will be more variation seen in countries that have
more diverse social and economic factors involved in policy making. The article suggests that with
this hypothesis that issues will be decided on by parties potentially depending on what is in the best
interest at tat time based on the national feeling that is present in their respective countries. This
hypothesis is certainly well founded in the idea of European integration as if national interests are
largely in favor of integration it stands to follow that parties and policy would likewise be in favor.
Still, the next hypothesis that is given, the median supporter, also makes sense for parties and shifting
stances. In this parties would generally change their stances just enough to create the most potential to
gather a maximum amount of votes. This would allow parties in the case of European integration to
stick safely to the ideals of their average voter which would potentially allow for the most
representatively accurate ideas to take force. This meaning that if this hypothesis were correct political
parties would correspondingly move towards integration with their average voters perspective in mind
so as to appeal to the most voters as possible.
Finally, the last alternative hypothesis presented in the article took the stance of parties going one of

  • 2. The Matrix Plato The Matrix (1999) presents to viewers a computer hacker known as Neo. By day, Neo (his alter ego is Mr. Anderson) is a computer programmer, and at night he sells hacked software. Morpheus, a character who attempts to awaken humans from a dreamlike trance known as the Matrix, solicits the assistance of Neo. Morpheus offers Neo the chance to see the truth about the world in which he lives. Neo, and other humans as well, are housed as biochemical food for the artificial intelligence that controls the planet. Neo wages a war in a secret underground, where he fights with Morpheus against the agents who protect the parasitic machines who live off the heat and electrochemical energy humans produce with their bodies. Neo discovers that the machines ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While it is unlikely that humans will allow artificial intelligence to develop a parasitic relationship with them, The Matrix gives the viewer pause to wonder what else in the world may not be real as perceived. Everything we perceive has the potential to be an illusion. It is only knowledge that will give us the power to be free. Likewise, people who eschew experience and education are no better off than the prisoners chained to the stone. The uneducated have limited knowledge and less power. It is not until, like Neo, they break the chains confining them and are willing to explore new worlds, that they may understand reality. From The Matrix we learn that it is realistic to be skeptical of the world; government is deceitful. Elected officials use their knowledge to make decisions on behalf of ignorant people. Leaders find it incumbent on themselves to make all decisions related to the health, safety and well being of people whom they rule. Elected officials in contemporary politics view this decision making as a necessity, thinking that because they are in control and have power, they are the ones who know more than the common ... Registering myself as a limited partner protects my investment by limiting my liability to the amount I provided. If the business were to be sued, I would only be required to pay the amount I invested unlike a regular partnership in which my liability would be unlimited. As Phoebe neither wishes to be involved in the business nor made an investment, she will be an employee. This newly found freedom can result in a couple of outcomes, this can be categorized as those who choose to party and those who don t. Partying is a university stereotype, you see it movies and have most likely heard some eventful stories from a family member. Dissimilar to high school, there are no popular kids throwing exclusive parties, everyone is welcome. Yet the necessity to conform to the party crowd is still present. It has become a societal norm. Almost like, if you re not partying, you re not attaining the full university experience. Overall partying can be described as an event/celebration in which most people are enjoying themselves, typically letting loose through the use of alcohol and drugs. Everyone parties for a different reason. For myself, the world of partying often leads to meeting new people, along with the liquid courage, socializing becomes easier. For other s it may act as release. After another continuous week of studying and completing assignments, partying can act as something to look forward to. In university, students typically party from Thursday to Saturday every weekend. Whether it s a going to house party, bars or clubs, there is always something going on. Patients are so called cured and receive treatment to better themselves but are referred to also as being in remission . The stigma of the being labeled as having a mental illnesses is a permanent label that follows a person everyday of their life. A strength of the sociocultural approach to depression is the treatment involved in helping the patient. Through the use of treatments such as family therapy, the psychologist is treating the family as a whole rather than the single person who is depressed. Genetic variants have a small effect on overall risks of developing diseases and disorders but a need for environmental factors as well is required to develop disorders such as depression. From the biological approach, an issue arises with the claims that genes have the ability to cause depression due to the fact that studies have shown no single gene has the power alone to cause someone to develop depression which shows it is necessary for a sociocultural factors to be involved. A study was done to determine the extent of the relationship between twins and the genetic inheritance of depression. Nurnberger and Gershon (1982) conducted a study to reveal the relationship between genes and depression (Miller 47). The study included a review of the results of seven twins who suffered from depression. The concordance rates for depression were higher in monozygotic twins, 65% average, than dizygotic twins, 14% average. Although the concordance rates were higher in monozygotic twins, the concordance rate is still very low in comparison to 100%. Therefore, the study cannot definitely state anything that says genetic inheritance is 100% responsible for the concordance rates without taking into considerations environmental and psychological factors. • 6. Using ‘Ruins of a Great House’ and One Other Poem Using Ruins of a Great House and one other poem, which you have studied, compare and contrast how poets present a sense of place. A sense of place can be defined and can be used in many different ways by various different people. To some, it is a characteristic that some places have and some do not, while to others it is a feeling or perception held by people and not by the place itself. It is often used in relation to those characteristics that make a place special or unique, as well as to those that adopt a sense of dependable human attachment and belonging. Homes are often regarded as a place where people get attached and build relationships with their homes. They are often where most feel a sense of place. It is why most regard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The tone of The House is extremely important because it communicates the exact mood of the poem to the reader. This poem has a very gloomy and sad tone. We know this by looking the sounds that are used and the rhyme scheme. There is no rhyme scheme for this poem and this helps to bring out the gloomy tone that the poet is trying to achieve. If there were a rhyme scheme then the poem would sound more bright and rhythmic, almost having a sense of musicality to it, which would spoil the overall tone of the poem. This gloomy tone can also be seen in Ruins of a Great House when talking about ancestral murderers who colonised areas and destroyed cultures. Walcott has no rhyme scheme for this poem which once again echo s how gloomy this house is because again if a poet uses rhyming, it adds a happy tone to most poems and almost create a childish effect, which in both poems does not occur. Finally we can see how both poets present a sense of place in different ways. Sweeney uses aspects of nature to present his home and how gloomy it is, but how even though home can be disgusting, anyone can survive it. Whereas Walcott uses other people to create his own aspects of what a sense of place is, for example the colonisers have created that place and made it theirs, and they feel a sense of place in it, as do the slave, but this sense of place isn t always ... These five components integrate to perform input, process, output, feedback and control. (Sage, 1968). The structure of information is composed of input, output, constraints, purpose, Boundaries. To explain these functions we will look at a business. Poe s parents died when he was young, his foster mother, siblings and wife all died as well. On top of this throughout his life he accumulated debt and was constantly criticized by those around him. Dreamland is a journey alone in the world of dreams searching for something greater in life within what seems like a nightmare. I do agree that humans should act, in way, similar to animals because i have noticed with just some of my observations that the growing process of these animals turn out to be marvelous creatures. I also know that humans are very selfish in many ways and do not always focus on the final result because they are to occupied focusing on the now and what they want now. Current understanding is that the 6 to 7 million cones can be divided into red cones (64%), green cones (32%), and blue cones (2%) based on measured response curves (HyperPhysics). When one type of cone continuously sends the same signal to the brain, the cones hastily become exhausted. Once one of the three types of cone becomes exhausted, the cone ceases to transmit signals to the brain. Which causes the brain to assume the cones are tired and holds onto the image. However, once the top sheet of paper is removed all that is shown is a white sheet of paper and white contains all light energy. Since the red type cones are nonfunctioning, only the green and blue type cones receive the wavelengths. This causes the brain to assume the signals it s receiving are a blue green colour instead of an equal parts red blue green combination, which would form white. This experiment hopes to show how the human eye detects multiple wavelengths of light, and how the cones interact the brain. Moreover, the experiment desires to display, not only, how the cones work individually, but to show how the cones work in unison with each other to produce the colors man sees. The experiment also hopes to demonstrate the immense complexity contained within the human eye. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Abdomen Case Study Essay The sequencing that I will be using to assess the abdomen would be inspection, auscultation, percussion, and palpation. I would inspect the abdomen for the shape of the abdomen, skin masses and abnormalities. Inspection will give me clues whether I should percuss or palpate the abdomen. Then, I would auscultate the abdomen for altered bowel sounds. It is important to auscultate the abdomen first. Percussion and palpation tends to intensify peristalsis which can result to false interpretation of bowel sounds (Jarvis, 2012). When I proceed to the patient s abdominal examination, it is important to know the anatomy of the abdomen where each organ is located. I would percuss M.M s abdomen and check for abnormal fluid and masses. According to Jarvis (2012), flank dullness upon percussion may indicate fluid in the abdomen or ascites. It was not until the father of criminology, Cesare Lombrosso attempted to measure blood pressure to detect lies in the late 1800 s that the modern polygraph s roots can be seen (Lewis Cuppari, 2009). Soon after in the early 1900s, Vittorio Benussi expanded on Lombrosso s idea and included breathing rate and pulse in the detection of lies. He even had a range of changes that constituted lies called the Benussi ratio (Grubin Madsen, 2005). The foundation for the modern day polygraph had been laid, and the controversy was about to begin. The basic principle behind the physical responses to lying were narrowed down to skin conductance, blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration (Lewis Cuppari, 2009). In short, psychologists believed that a lie would cause at least one of these things to change, if only for a brief moment. John Larson and Leonarde Keele put these variables all together and devised a machine that would measure and graph all of these things in real time, aptly named the polygraph (Lewis Cuppari, 2009). These measurements mean nothing on their own, however. This research paper will dive deeper into the overall interview process, but the polygraph test itself typically consists of two main types of questions: control questions and relevant questions. What was marriage to the full has turned into a fiasco. The Lord then gives consequences for the disobedience in the garden. Sin creates consequences of separation, fear, shame, blame, and pain that ripple through the rest of Genesis. Specifically, God puts the consequence of death on Adam. Social And Political Thought Sriya Siems Classics of Social and Political Thought Mr. Ellison SOSC 15100 Second Paper #4 (Democracy) A Proposition To Abolish Democracy In the modern west, democracy is generally conceived as the most free regime. Democracy is uniquely characterized by majority rule. This gives its citizens the privilege to vote, overturn, and motion, with the purpose of best representing the desires of the population. Not only do societies strive for democracy to gain political freedom, but also personal freedom. Traditionally, we equate government intervention and regulation with harsh restrictions that devitalize our personal freedom, however, according to Socrates; regulation is necessary in order to experience genuine freedom . In the Republic, Socrates discusses his tripartite regime in which promotes optimal justice and happiness for its citizens. However, if we fully accept Socrates republic, this does not necessarily mean we have to reject democracy entirely. This idea will be furthered explored throughout the entirety of this essay. While Socrates describes democracy as the fairest regime, he refutes this claim by exposing the disastrous effect lack of structure has in a democracy, producing only spurious pleasures and, therefore, failing to achieve Socrates s justice, (demonstrated in his republic) which produces genuine pleasures that greatly benefit the individual and the city. First, is how the uniforms affect the children in a negative way. I know a family just a few houses up the street whose kids go to a Catholic school. Religion set aside, they have to wear uniforms to school. Often I see them getting out of the car, ripping off their bows and ties with a sort of disgust. My friend from that family, Aaron, states on the topic, They are uncomfortable, which actually distracts me more from learning and paying attention. This shows how school uniforms affect the learning environment negatively and impact children in a negative way. Everyone has heard the phrase, if you get hurt it s your own fault. But what if you never get the chance to be hurt? You ll never learn. It s the same way with something as simple as clothing. If children wear vulgar clothing to school then you can talk to them and tell them it s wrong. It is bad preparation for the real world if we are telling children what to do, rather than letting them learn to better prepare themselves for the real world. Next, is the sneakiness behind the administration and their altered statistics. Long beach California is a town that incorporates school uniforms into their schooling. The district claims the academic success and low violence rates are due to the school uniforms. They did leave out the other improvements in their districts including, promotion of conflict resolution, peer mediation, and parental involvement. The superintendent of this district made a comment to the Harvard Education Letter stating, It is really hard to know exactly what is causing the positive effect. This shows how districts are hiding other information to promote how well uniforms fix problems when in reality, it could be many things. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in Southern ... This was formed due to the weevil which is a beetle that was destroying the cotton crops. If this were to never have happened in history then we might not have had the company Delta as we know it today. The company first started out in Georgia but had a very unsuccessful first season due to the lack of cotton crops in the area. The company was forced to move its headquarters to Louisiana where more of demand of the industry was located. (History of Delta Airlines, n.d.) C.E. Woolman was vice president and field manager of Huff Daland Dusters and it became the largest privately owned fleet in the world with 25 small planes and a number of large aircrafts called Ton of Dust. Marketing, Web Design And Web Development Kira Godwin CST 300 September 23, 2014 Marketing, Web Design and Web Development Web design is a blend of creativity and technicality, or graphic design and web development. As a result of this blend the industry s necessary skills, necessary education, and job offerings can be variable. Individuals interested in this industry should attempt to vary their skill sets as much as possible. Companies such as a Forix, combine marketing, design and technical skills to customize their products. Additionally, individuals should expect to discover that some careers will rely more heavily on technical skills, while other careers rely more heavily on design skills. The web design and development industry are relatively new. This modern industry was built off of the inventions of 1974, when computer researchers invented the internet protocol suite (TCP/IP). TCP/IP is somewhat like human communication: when we speak to each other, the rules of grammar provide structure to language and ensure that we can understand each other and exchange ideas. Similarly, TCP/IP provides the rules of communication that ensure interconnected devices understand each other so that they can send information back and forth. (Google Chrome Team, 2010, pg. 5). It was not until 1989 that the internet was conceived. A man named Tim Berners Lee created the World Wide Web server through HTML or, hypertext markup language. • 24. Importance Of A Piece Of Writing When you read an article, a book, a newspaper, or even a letter, often times you do not think of all the complexities that the piece of writing incorporates. Every word, every sentence, every idea expressed is carefully thought out before it is presented in writing. This is because the writer must keep in mind their audience whilst they write, some might even go as far as to say that the writer has obligations to the reader. On the other hand, if you stop to contemplate it, you realize that writing is equally important to the writer as it is to the comprehensibility of the reader. Both types of people play a crucial role in making a piece of writing what it is. I stand in agreement with authors Mark Twain and Ursula K. Le Guin, along with an anonymous English professor at Ohio University, who all make claims that correspond to one greater message that the teamwork between writers and readers is what promotes the success of a piece of writing. Mark Twain heavily emphasizes the importance of proofreading writing for clarity. Referring to the revision of a written piece, Twain says, The time to begin writing an article is when you have finished it to your satisfaction. By that time you begin to clearly and logically perceive what it is you really want to say. Twain is saying that once you have written your piece, you have only finished putting your thoughts into words on the paper, but it isn t a well crafted piece of writing just yet; the first draft isn t the final. Poetry And History Of Chinese Immigrants On Angel Island Ashly.E.Jose AAAS 280E John Cheng November 11, 2016 Island: poetry and history of Chinese immigrants on Angel Island Chinese immigration to the United States began in large number during the California Gold Rush. Many people came to the country hoping to find jobs and fortune for themselves and their families back in China. Among those immigrants many stayed in the country and others went back to China. The point of entry for these Chinese immigrants to California between 1910 and 1940 was the Angles Island in San Francisco. The Island was like that of the Ellis Island in New York. These islands were the immigration detention headquarters for the immigrants waiting on their medical examinations and immigration papers. It was also the holding ground for deportees awaiting transportation back to the mother land. Island: poetry and history of Chinese immigrants on Angel Island, by Him Mark Lai is a collection of the poems that was restored from the walls and barracks of the Angles Island. • 27. The Prince And Discourse On Livy In his famous works, The Prince and Discourse on Livy, Machiavelli meticulously discusses the importance of religion in the formation and maintaining a political order. Machiavelli regards religion as a political tool used by political elites for political purposes. He argues that the appearance of religion is good while the practice of it is harmful. One of the memorable passage from the Prince that supports Machiavelli s claim is when he advices the prince to not to be good, and the prince should cultivate the appearance of the religion if he wants to maintain his state. The prince, he writes, should appear all mercy, all faith, all honesty, all human, all religion he adds and nothing is more necessary to have than this last quality (The Prince, 70). Here, Machiavelli argues, in order for the prince to maintain his state, it is necessary for the prince to go to the source of morality and by this he means religion. Thus, Machiavelli view on religion is nothing but a necessary tool for maintaining a political authority. Furthermore, Machiavelli stresses the importance of the religion as a political mean to control and govern the masses. In the Discourse on Livy, Machiavelli uses the example of how Numa the founder of Roman religion, manipulates the Roman people by using religion to maintain order and peace. Machiavelli praises the wisdom of Numa for inventing a religion to control a very ferocious Romans. In praising Numa, Machiavelli writes: As he found a very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. The Piano Sonata Op.35 No.2, By Johann Sebastian Bach Essay Macdonald believes in the individuality of the keys. Moreover, in the history of the keyboard music, the work developed by Johann Sebastian Bach during the Baroque period entitled, The Well Tempered Clavier, is harmonically and musically substantial since he uses a pedagogical way to state the individuality of each key signature; he demonstrates a preference for sharps rather than flats. He chooses F sharp in both books of preludes and fugue. In the second movement of the Piano Sonata Op.35 No.2, the Scherzo is written in the key of E flat minor. However, Chopin ends this movement in the relative key with a G flat major chord. The key of G flat is closely related to the Key of B flat minor as the relative key of E flat minor, which is the subdominant of B flat minor. Musical Analysis and Performance Chopin wrote three piano sonatas: Sonata Op. 4 No. 1 in C minor, Sonata Op. 35 No. 2 in B flat minor, and Sonata Op. 58 No. 3 in B minor. Scholars agree with the idea that Chopin had a sort of appreciation for minor keys in this type of work. Also, these sonatas are examples of Chopin s interest in the older tradition of the large forms. Chopin demonstrated acceptance of the traditional concepts of the sonata form. For instance, he uses double bars and repeats marks at the close of the exposition. The Sonata Op.35, No. 2 in B flat minor was composed in 1839 in France but, the third movement of this sonata was composed and played separately in 1837. This sonata ... The Toronto Star As A Local Newspaper COMM 2P98 Sara Posen Russell Johnson March 8, 2016 The Toronto Star as a Local Newspaper Local Canadian daily newspapers pose an important role in communication and media industries. Newspapers are parted into diverse segments of political events, entertainment, crime, business, sports, and the weather to name a few categories. The public sphere permits individuals to discuss freely regarding areas ranging anywhere from lifestyle to societal dilemmas, evoking conversation and debate with the possibility of influencing political action. Journalists and the local newspaper open up the sphere to interested parties who then converse on issues of mutual interests, trailed by a common opinion or finding, to be made by either the writer or the readers of the media outlet. The poet wants to say that things aren t as simple as they appear to be by exposing the selfishness and falseness of Lycius love despite it being a tale of romance; thus creating an ambiguity. Lamia focuses on Lycius s inability to distinguish between his private dreams of pleasure and the social world outside himself. Lycius is characterized as a romantic dreamer, a male lover, who fails to see his lover as an individual other. Lamia is objectified by Lycius as something that serves the purpose of stimulating his imagination and fulfilling his desires only, as he sees her more as a part of his dream than his reality. What seems to lie at the heart of Keats romances, and more specifically in Lamia, is that romantic love is nothing more than a selfish feeling that comes to satisfy personal desires without any regards. How Lycius conceptions of reality are shaped by his romantic perception is exemplified by Keats throughout the poem. With the resurgence of religion came Fundamentalism, which originated in American Protestantism. Fundamentalists where known for practicing the essential fundamentals of Christianity, fighting back the modernization of religion. T.K Oommen (1994) defines fundamentalism as text without context ; meaning the scriptures written back in history where relevant to that history and culture at that time and place (Christiano et al., 2016). Such texts without context then simply disregard current settings. Fundamentalists believe their religion is the objective truth, which as a result, defines other religions as myths (Christiano et al., 2016). Globalization has shifted religious views in our society, from predominately Fundamentalist based to more modern. This shift in religious views has resulted in religions catered to anyone and everyone. Faith is what allows us to accept a truth, a truth believed by many, resulting in religion. One of the surviving victims, Frank Gusenberg, could have put the case to rest, serving those responsible, but when asked who shot him, he said, No one shot me , and the case was left unsolved when Gusenberg later died from his wounds ( Saint 1). The two leaders of the attack, were the ones with the strongest alibis. Al Capone and McGurn were not charged for the crime and seemed to be free, but one gunman, Fred Burke, was arrested for the murder of a police officer and not for the crime (Rosenberg, 3). As stated by NH Chan JCA in Teoh Guat Looi v Ng Hong Guan, res ipsa loquitur was in essence no more than a common sense approach to the effect of the evidence in certain circumstances. It means that a plaintiff prima facie establishes negligence where it is not possible for him to prove precisely how the accident happened, but on the evidence as it stands, he manages to show that the accident could not have happened without the negligence on the part of the defendant. • 43. Coral Reefs And Coral Reef Coral reefs in Belize have declined in abundance over the past decade. The reefs have experienced massive losses due to many local and global stressors such as bleaching, disease, sewage, overfishing, climate change, and tourism damage. After Hurricane Iris in 2001, the coral reef in Belize was left for the dead due to no growth. Direct impacts such as hurricanes are associated with the loss of architectural complexity of coral habitats. The loss of this coral reef complication drives the decline in diversity and species richness. The widespread mortality of corals also increases the chance of net reef erosion. These impacts are expected to amplify calcium carbonate dissolution with negative consequences for the entire reef framework ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Restoration projects strategically planned and mapped nursery sites and out plant sites. This is the mostly widely used method for ecological recovery of coral reefs which is also called coral gardening. Coral gardening framework has expanded to planting ten thousand rehabilitated corals on degraded coral reefs in the Caribbean and Western Atlantic. This method is based on two factors: the collection of coral fragments within nurseries and the out planting of nursery grown corals onto ruined reefs (Lirman, 2016). First, engineers took a few factors into consideration what corals exist, and where, in proximity to the restoration sites. Next, donor corals must be mapped and scoped to the location of the nursery and out plant sites in the process. Past restoration projects in the Caribbean and Western Atlantic are quite different from coral gardening. They depended on the transplantation of corals from a donor site to a damaged site (Lirman, 2016).Coral gardening techniques are a little different because this technique uses a small amount of corals within ex situ or in situ nurseries prior to outplanting onto degraded reefs. The key to coral gardening is to maximize coral productivity and survivorship. While corals are in the nursery, they can provide an expanding source of corals for ecological restoration. If there s a high productivity at the nursery, they will no longer need to use more corals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Three teams at the top of this controversial topic are the NFL s Washington Redskins, the MLB s Cleveland Indians, and the MLB s Atlanta Braves. The appropriation of a team should be based on what the name itself represents or was based off of. The use of Native American logos, names, and actions are not acceptable. The term redskin is a slur, the Indians Chief Wahoo is flat out racist, and the Braves tomahawk chop is a stereotype. The following examples will show the reasoning. The first team that is widely debated about is the NFL s Washington Redskins. One reason why the Washington Redskins name is not appropriate is because [redskin] is a dictionary defined slur (Shapiro, Fox News). This is a good reason, since the term slur is a disparaging and minimizing remark according to the dictionary. Another reason why the term redskin is not appropriate is that it was used with an attitude of hostility in the late 19th and early 20th centuries (Dictionary.com). ... Air superiority is a condition on the spectrum of air control, which ranges from adversary air supremacy, to air parity, to friendly air supremacy. The air superiority condition is achieved when friendly operations are able to proceed without prohibitive interference from opposing forces. In modern military operations, achieving this level of control of the air is a critical pre condition for success. • 48. Bystander Effect Theory Essay The Bystander Effect Theory Have you seen a group of children bullying or pushing around another child? Did you stand by and watch the situation and not intervene? If so, even with such a minor situation, you fell into the bystander effect theory. The bystander effect happens every day in our lives and dates all the way back to the Holocaust and even further back in history. The bystander effect theory is a psychological phenomenon were people do not help others in emergency situations when there are others present, the bigger the crowd the less likely chance of someone stepping in to help. In 1964, there was a woman who was brutally murdered and there were approximately 30 witnesses who did not intervene to save her. This case was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People are just trying to live life and survive and if the situation is too out of control where we are talking about guns being involved, then that s where people would draw a line and not do anything to help. People start to fear that their own life becomes in danger if they try to intervene in something of that magnitude. I can completely understand why people would be more hesitant when it comes to helping others when they fear their own life can be taken from them. This type of fear is one of the main reason the Holocaust happened and people did very little to help the Jews. During the Holocaust there were mass killings involving huge crowds and a very massive witness group. The Germans were brain washed to think the Jews were horrible people and they blamed them for taking away their dignity as a country. There are reports of dozen of witness that stood by and did nothing to help. A photographer took pictures of a man, a Luthuanian, beating 30 40 men to death with a crow bar then watched as they sang their national anthem on top of the dead bodies. With a crowd so enormous and so many people with hate in their hearts it would be so hard for someone to intervene in that type of situation. Another example from the reading is a medical man was about to offer a bandage to a Jewish lady but one of the guards approached them and threatened the medical s man life. The guard instilled fear in this man and he went back and told ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. The Passage Of Time Has Resulted On National And... The passage of time has resulted in numerous political parties around the world that deliberate on national and international policy. These parties prioritize certain issues over others resulting in the multitude of party platforms such as Green, Conservative, Liberal Democrat, etc. that are seen in governments. Some of these parties are tactically suited to maintaining their original stance with issues that have come up over time. For example, the green parties which have gained relevance concurrently with environmental issues seem to maintain a fairly steady political stance. Other parties, however, have long histories of voting and precedence in government that have sustained over centuries such as conservative and liberal parties. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This hypothesis is that of national location. The philosophy behind this political positioning suggests that in an issue such as European integration there will be more variation seen in countries that have more diverse social and economic factors involved in policy making. The article suggests that with this hypothesis that issues will be decided on by parties potentially depending on what is in the best interest at tat time based on the national feeling that is present in their respective countries. This hypothesis is certainly well founded in the idea of European integration as if national interests are largely in favor of integration it stands to follow that parties and policy would likewise be in favor. Still, the next hypothesis that is given, the median supporter, also makes sense for parties and shifting stances. In this parties would generally change their stances just enough to create the most potential to gather a maximum amount of votes. This would allow parties in the case of European integration to stick safely to the ideals of their average voter which would potentially allow for the most representatively accurate ideas to take force. This meaning that if this hypothesis were correct political parties would correspondingly move towards integration with their average voters perspective in mind so as to appeal to the most voters as possible. Finally, the last alternative hypothesis presented in the article took the stance of parties going one of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
