Women In Richard III
What are the functions of the three female characters in Richard iii? How do they shape the plot by
their interactions with Richard? Shakespeare uses female characters in his plays to illustrate a point or
affect the plot, just like in Richard III. The world that Shakespeare shows us in Richard III is a man s
world. Women are presented as being on the sidelines to grieve, complain, or bury the dead. Richard
views women as instruments, as shown when he announces his plots to the audience. For example, the
marriage with Anne and Elizabeth are only moves in his quest of intrigue and power. There are three
main females characters that affect the plot with their interactions with the main character. They are
Anne, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Margaret. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His mother says ... Shame serves thy life and doth thy death attend... (Act IV, Scene 4, l.2986); even
though she is his mother, she sees what Richard has done and does not approve of it. She is a character
that reminds Richard that he is constantly wrong and he came ... on earth to make the earth my hell...
(Act IV, Scene 4, l.15). She has very strong feelings of revenge towards Richard, like most of the
females in the play, but is powerless in front of him. Women in Richard III often see through his
intrigues and predict dramatic consequences from his acts. Shakespeare uses the women to point out
moral truths and emphasize general principles of moral and political order. Anne, Elizabeth, the
Duchess and Margaret each contribute in furthering Shakespeare s moral themes in three ways:
through their roles as victims, in their cries for revenge, and in alluding to a higher moral order that
transcends men s actions. They represent morals in society even though they are powerless. The
character of King Richard III is perhaps Shakespeare s most evil creation. Shakespeare provides a
contrast to Richard s villainy, women. They function as voices of protest and morality; they add
conflict and tension to the plot and represent all the suffering caused by Richard to the

The Abjection Stage And The Narcissistic Stage
These are the Chora stage, the Abjection stage and the Narcissistic stage. The Chora stage covers the
first six months of an infant s life. It is a pre linguistic stage where the infant is dominated by a chaotic
mixture of acuities, feelings and needs. It is also a stage when the infant is oblivious about the need to
distinguish itself from its mother or the world around and is fully dependent on its mother for the
gratification of its desires. This stage is followed by the stage of Abjection which occurs from 4 8
months of age. The infant at this stage becomes conscious of the differences between self and m/other
and in a bid to develop the contours between self and m/other separates itself from the mother.
Kristeva refers to this act of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now the child has a clear perception of the subject, object and the abject. The subject (child) submits
himself to the prevailing rules and customs of the society, the object (other) opposes the subject and
disturbs the smooth run of things whereas the abject threatens the very identity and wholeness of the
subject. Objects can lead to either or both fascination and repulsion. When an object is on the verge of
destroying the subject s existence, it becomes an abject i.e. something to get rid of. In a similar
manner an abject becomes an object, when it is no longer a serious threat to the subject s hegemony
over its own self. In the Symbolic realm or the linguistic stage the child is further separated from a
connection with the mother as language itself finds meaning within its own internal logic of
differences. For example the meaning of the word hot is understood only when we deduce the
differences while comparing it with the word cold . Expanding upon this concept of abjecting or
differentiating ourselves from others, Kristeva further contends that all acts of abjection or creating
borders between the subject and the abject at the level of individuals, communities, states, nations etc.
originate from the psychic isolation prompted

Dollar Tree Store Case Study
Dollar Tree Stores was founded as a branch of K K Toys in 1986. However, K K was eventually
divested to focus completely on the dollar store market. With their new focus, they began a growth
strategy and attempted to lower costs of business. They began to acquire other dollar retail stores
including Dollar Bills, Dollar Giant, and Deal$. In addition to external growth, they were successful at
growing internally. Dollar Tree began to open their own distribution centers to support their growth
and increase efficiency. Most of their merchandise is priced at a dollar and includes food, housewares,
seasonal goods, healthcare, beauty products, toys, stationery, and gifts (text).

How The Development Of Outdoor Play Is Supported Through...
1.5 Explain how the development of outdoor play is supported through the combination
Benefits of child initiated play
There are many advantages to child initiated play. Children s emotional development is particularly
supported because children are able to make their own choices. They also gain independence skills as
they can help themselves to resources. This type of play helps children to be creative as they have to
develop their own ideas of how to play indoors and outdoors.
Concentration many adults notice that children concentrate for quite long periods during child initiated
play. It is not uncommon for 3 and 4 year olds to focus for an hour or so on making models, creating
dens or just playing with sensory materials. Children often have a clear purpose and idea of what they
are doing and why. Being able to concentrate for long periods is good for children s cognitive
development.
Social skills By playing independently of adults, children have the chance to practise their social
skills. They might squabble or raise their voices at times, but most children from 3 years or so are able
to work things out themselves. Learning to take turns and cooperate helps children s social skills.
Benefits of adult led play
There are many reasons why early years settings provide adult led play. Adult led play enables
children to learn new skills and concepts. Adult led play is also used so that children can learn
specifi¬c skills and concepts. By playing an outside board

Object Storage Systems Are Complex Systems
Data Indexing
Object storage systems are complex systems that require high speed data management system to
handle the vast amount of object attributes. In CADOS, we take advantage of PostgreSQL
(Stonebraker and Rowe, 1986) database to store the object and stripe information. Namespace
technique is widely used to prevent the name conflict of objects with the same name. Each object in
CADOS is accessed via well defined namespace paths. The object path column is represented via ltree
structure (ltree, 2015) in order to support hierarchical tree like structure in an efficient way. This
structure allows us to use regular expression like patterns in accessing the object attributes.

All the communication between the master web worker and slave web workers are made in a message
passing fashion. At (2), master web worker distributes the URL list of the data segments across the
slave web workers which are created in the loading event of the web page. onmessage is an event
handler that is called when the message is posted to the corresponding web worker. In onmessage
handler of the slave web workers, unique IDs with URLs are posted to the slave web worker, then
each slave web worker starts retrieving data segments from the cloud object storage, again, by means
of AJAX communication technique (3). As the slave web worker finishes the retrieval of the data
segment, it posts the data pointer and corresponding index to the master web worker (4). Index of the
data segment is used to locate the data segment on the main cache created by the master web worker.
Because the data is passed to the master web worker using pointers, there is no data copy overhead.
Once all the slave workers finish data retrieval operations, the master web worker writes out the cache
to the hard disk (5). The downside of this technique the total amount of retrieved data is limited by the
RAM capacity of the user, although we anticipate this feature to be introduced in the future as a part of

A Survey Conducted By Stanford University And Resources...
GHG Emissions Problem A survey conducted by Stanford University and Resources for the Future
found that 61 percent of the US respondents supported taxing corporations for releasing Green House
Gas Emissions. Additionally, 67 percent of the respondents agreed with a Carbon Taxation policy
(Lehmann). Climate change concerns have been growing on a global level due to the substantial
increase in green house gas emissions mainly due to human activities. According to the EPA
(Environmental Protection Agency) CO2 emissions are the largest contributors to greenhouse gas
emissions in the US. Approximately 80.9 percent of human caused GHG emissions are by Carbon

The Hamilton Project, CATO Institute, Stanford and Harvard all agree that policymakers should set
the price of the carbon tax equal to the social cost of carbon (P=SCC). The Cato institute defines SCC
or the social cost of carbon as the present‐discounted value of the net future external damages from an
additional unit of carbon dioxide emissions (Murphy). This is one of the key concepts that is examined
when it comes to economic and/or environmental policy decisions regarding CO2 emissions. This in
turn means that a hypothetical carbon tax would be equal to the environmental and social negative
externalities that are produced by each additional ton on CO2 emissions (marginal cost). The
Hamilton project gives a hypothetical tax scenario of $16 per ton and increasing by 4% per year or so
in accordance with the inflation rate. The reason for the incremental increase is because $16 is still far
below the Government s central estimate of $23 and below Canada and British Columbia s carbon tax
policies ( New ). Starting at a lower rate will allow for the gradual assimilation into this new tax
policy, if it were implemented.
Environmental Benefits The main purpose of instituting a carbon tax would be to reduce carbon
emissions, reduce the environmental costs, and thus mitigate some of the effects of climate change.
Using the $16 per ton estimate established

Accounts Greatest Risk of Material Misstatement
The account with the greatest risk of material misstatement is the inventory account. Two other
accounts that have risk, but do not have as much risk as the inventory account are: accounts receivable
and the property and equipment account. Finally, another account that should be monitored is the short
term investments account.
The inventory account has the greatest risk due to the numerous business and economic factors the
affect AEO s industry. As a specialty retailer, AEO must continue to maintain it s competitive
advantage in terms of forecasting customer trend preferences or risk producing out of date product
styles that will lead to excess inventory.
Also, due to the requirement that AEO must enter in to production agreements with suppliers far in
advance in order to guarantee inventory, they are even more exposed to fluctuations in consumer
preference or economic changes such as a drop in consumer confidence or discretionary spending.
AEO appears to typically have an inventory turnover ratio of approximately 6, which is lower than the
industry average of 10. This means that AEO on average takes longer to sell its inventory and means
that they must forecast demand effectively or risk excess inventory. In terms of a material
misstatement, it is imperative that

Compare And Contrast World War Two Experiments
Prisoners of War have been tortured in many ways. Like, how the Japanese used to experiment on
Chinese and Koreans. During World War II, prisoners of war have been tortured, and experimented
on. Back then, people even have a place to design and test out experiments, they call it Unit 731 .
During World War II, Prisoners of War were tortured by many different ways, just like how the boys in
Lord of the Flies were tortured by their own captivity while on the island. Prisoners of war (POW)
were experimented in many different ways. One way they have been experimented was when the
Japanese tested out biological weapons on multiple prisoners of war. Most of the individual used for
the experiments were Chinese and Korean. (histclo,1). This shows that prisoners of war were being
experimented on and how they were being experimented during World Ward II. This connects to Lord
of the Flies because the boys were tortured and experimented on by the beast . On page 207, the beast
says, I m warning you. I m going to get angry.... So don t try it on, my poor misguided boy, or else
(Golding,207). This shows that the beast was experimenting on Simon, and threatening him to do stuff
or else he would get hurt. This also shows that the beast has power over Simon, since Simon
obviously doesn t want to get hurt. Just like how the prisoners of war ... Show more content on

According to histclo, POWs were used as slave laborers, working in brutal conditions, in many others
areas such as Japanese coal and copper mines and limestone quarries. This shows that the Japanese
worked prisoners of war really hard as a torture method. This connects to Lord of the Flies because
Jack were ordering the boys around while on the island. Jack spoke. Give me a drink. (Golding, 215).
This shows that Jack has full control over the boys in his group. Which means he can make them do
whatever he wants. Whether it s killing Ralph, or getting him

Chicanos And The Liberal Agenda
Chicanos and the Liberal Agenda In the early sixties, when times were of segregation, racism and
discrimination, Chicanos often suffered the most. It was a dark time for Mexican Americans, who
were negatively referred as Chicanos . Chicanos did not always have the empowered meaning it has
today. In the early sixties, Chicano was often used to refer to Mexican Americans as lower class,
ignorant and as a derogatory racial identification. Furthermore, racism, exploitation, inequality,
conformity and assimilation were all main factors of the early sixties liberal agenda. Chicanos often
faced numerous struggles as Mexican Americans were often exploited profoundly in the workplace.
Along with being exploited, Chicanos often face new threats like being fired, pay cuts, and ultimately
deportation due racism. Anglo societies were advanced due to the inequalities Chicanos faced from
education system and workplace. In addition, Chicanos who were proud to be brown or embraced
their culture, and practice their norms were often seen as outcast. The sixties main focus of the liberal
agenda was to conform the Mexican American. The liberal agenda attempt to make Chicanos deny
their culture and assimilate to the Anglo culture. However, Chicanos often did not assimilate and
conform. Chicanos often displayed their pride by dressing in their zoot zoot attires, speaking their
language and embracing their culture. As a way to fight back, Chicanos embraced their culture in their

Roosevelt, Jefferson, Washington, And Fdr Essay
When presenting the question of who deserves the title of best President of the United States, one
would not be surprised to find Lincoln, Jefferson, Washington, and FDR as the frontrunners. While
each of these presidents was undisputedly successful and groundbreaking in their own right, all fall
short to America s first modern president Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt, assuming office at the turn
of the century, redefined and reimagined the role of the president and the executive officialdom. By
expanding the powers of the presidency, Roosevelt was able to move the country forward in both the
international arena and on the home front. Roosevelt s vast success can greatly be attributed to his
charisma, character, and persuasion skills. He understood that the art of governing was truly the power
to persuade, and he mastered the trade. Roosevelt not only improved life domestically as he fought
against inequality and corrupt business practices, but he also achieved his goal of gaining influence
abroad, thus earning the United States a powerful platform on the global stage. Roosevelt s natural
leadership, charm, bravery, and compassion combined with his thorough understanding of the country
s needs, both for the individual and for the long term well being of the country, made him the most
successful president in United States history.
Roosevelt, taking office in 1901 after the assassination of President McKinley, inherited a unique

The Problem Of Textbooks Prices
During the Spring semester of 2017, I completed my Applied Field Experience in the state s largest
student run nonprofit organization, New Jersey Public Interest Research Group (NJPIRG). I worked
on the Making Textbooks More Affordable campaign, which addressed the problem of prohibitively
high textbooks prices.
A survey that involved more than 2,000 college students in 33 states and 156 different campuses finds
out that average student spends $1,200 each year on textbooks and supplies alone, which equals to 39
percent of tuition and fees at a community college, and 14 percent of tuition and fees at a four year
public university (Bidwell, 2014). Moreover, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics,
the price of textbook has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually, students still have to endure the excessively high price of textbooks. So, how to reduce the
price of textbooks fundamentally should be taken into consideration.
NJPIRG came up with the idea of Open and Affordable Textbook (OAT) Project since 2014. They
asserted that universities should found the project by letting professors adopting open and free
textbooks for their classes, so students can save money on textbooks. Open textbooks are defined as
textbooks have been funded, published, and licensed to be freely used, adapted, and distributed while
download for no cost. These books have been reviewed by faculty from a variety of colleges and
universities to assess their quality (Open Textbook Library). Many colleges and universities in
America have successful open textbooks program for reference, including the University of
Massachusetts Amherst, Kansas State University, Tacoma Community College and the University of
Maryland, and so on.
After two years of effort, NJPIRG successfully persuade the Rutgers University to launch the OAT
Project to protect students interest. In spring 2017, the first cycle of the OAT Project was implemented
by Rutgers Library. According to the library, thirty two grants of $1,000 each were awarded to faculty
and instructors across the system who chose to adopt, remix, or create a free or low cost textbook, as

Death Of A Salesman Essay
Death of a Salesman written by Arthur Miller is a play is about the Lomans, an average middle class
dysfunctional family trying to live out the American Dream in the tough economic period of 1945 to
1950s. The lead character Willy Loman is a 63 year old traveling salesman who has lost his salary and
working only on commission. Exhausted from his work, he also is disturbed by the fact that his well
liked 34 year old son Biff, hasn t lived up to his potential of being a successful businessman. Willy has
trouble remembering things and at times unable to differentiate between the present and his memories.

The play displayed the social and economic problems occurring in the United States at that time.
Arthur Miller was born into a lower middle class family. His father owned a business of
manufacturing ladies wear that suffered a loss during the Great Depression. According to Sinclair s
article on Death of a Salesman the country came out of the depression when World War II started and
after the War there was an economic boom that increased inner city business and building of
apartment housings. The economic boom brought prosperity for the United States but mostly for the
rich as inflation increased. Typical normal Americans and low paid workers like salesman, shop
workers, unskilled workers, janitors and waiters experienced the bigger hit having a hard time
affording the basic necessities. For these people the American Dream of being successful and well off
became impossible as debt and purchases on credit increased. People were having a hard time trying
to make it with what they already had. Miller used his play to criticize the social and philosophical
failures of Capitalist society. During his writing process, Miller was conflicted with how to portray the
troubles of the character to an audience and didn t quite have the complete story. His encounter with
his uncle Manny Newman, who was a salesman and refused to accept failure and lack of confidence in
his household, inspired Miller to create the character of Willy and transform the incomplete story to

Descartes Res Cogitans, Res Extensa, God
Recalling the distinction made earlier between primary objects of perception (objects of mathematics)
and secondary objects of perception (apparent objects formed from observer dependent sensory
properties), Descartes investigates whether material objects exist by asking two questions: (1) do
primary objects exist? and (2) do secondary objects exist? In answering the first question, Descartes
draws on a distinction between imagining primary objects and conceiving of primary objects. He notes
that he conceives of primary objects (such as triangles) clearly and distinctly, but this in no way means
that such objects actually exist. It only means that they might exist since the idea contains no
contradiction. (See the discussion of possible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Descartes argues that a distinct idea of my own mind does not include the ideas of imagination,
sensation, purposeful movement of body, appetites or most emotions (Principles, part one, §48, I, 208
9). That is, had I none of these things, I would continue to be the same self, although in a much
impoverished manner, and could still think (and that alone is my essence) in other ways. All of the
above involve some relation to the body.
But the reverse is not true: it is impossible to think of imagination or sensation or purposeful
movement without a mind. That is to say, the former are of the body, but not merely of the body.
Descartes writes, In imagining, it [the mind] turns towards the body (Meditations 6, II, 51). These
things are distinct from mind as possible modes are from a thing (e.g. as a cuboid shape is from a
body). On the other hand, mind cannot be thought without it thinking, at least in the sense of pure
thought therefore thinking in the non bodily sense of pure intellection (see Principles, part one, §32, I,
204) is an essential mode. This distinction between merely possible and essential modes provides an
argument for the separability of pure mind from things of the body. But, again, separability does not
mean separate the immediate and almost overwhelming fact of our existence is the factual
togetherness of mind and body.
Nevertheless, that which in the body produces

multinational organizations and companies set up base in Switzerland in cities like Zurich. Due to this
expansion strategies by large organizations willingly to expand all over the world, many regional
banks find it necessary to open up offices in various countries such as Switzerland in order to offer
financial services for such companies and businesses that have expanded globally. However, moving
and setting up shop in Switzerland is not as easy as one may think as it can be quite difficult and
stressful if the right procedure is not followed depending on various factors. According to Jordan

Switzerland has disappeared. This assignment looks at issues that a regional bank may experience
while moving and setting an office in Switzerland.
Challenges faced in Switzerland by financial institutions
Cultural and Ethnic Characteristics
For regional banks moving from North America and Europe may not be particularly very
disadvantaged by the Swedish culture. Despite this, they may still find it challenging when they set up

Film Analysis Of The Movie Mean Girls
In today s world bullying is a significant problem not only affecting America but the whole world. If
you believed it was hard for you to go to school when you were young you won t believe how much
harder it is to be a teenager today. The movie Mean Girls is a valuable movie because, although in a
comedic sense it offers an insight into the bullying aspects of high school and how it affects teen girls.
The viscous cycle of rumors not fitting in and doing anything and everything to fit in along with the
emotional scars that bullying leaves behind. The film Mean Girls follows a young teen that has never
been exposed to high school life her name is Cady Heron. She starts high school and she is so naïve
about everything that goes on in school and believes everyone is nice. Once she gets a glimpse of the
plastics she s mesmerized by how cool and confident they are. Regina George is the one in charge of
the plastics the Queen Bee . She has two minions Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith. Life is perfect
for the plastics or so it seems. Cady Heron gets invited to join the plastics and that s when she realizes
little by little on what it takes to be cool (Messick Waters, 2004). The film Mean Girls connects with
its target audience which consists of teenagers by using humor. Most of the movie is funny but there is
an underlying message that is so subtly intertwined to show a lesson without it being so in your face.
There s a moment in the movie where Cady is faced with

Exposition: Have you ever had your bike stop out of nowhere, and you not know why? Pedaling but
not moving anywhere. Feeling stuck, or even tipping over! Ouch, that really hurts! One morning I was
my own savior. It was when I learned how to fix a chain on a bicycle wheel. Action and Supporting
Details 1: I could see the road and sidewalk ahead of me. I could smell the wet rain, and I could feel
the soft wind blowing against my skin. It was a cold morning, the season of fall. I was bored sitting on
my couch when I decided to go for a bike ride. I was minding my own business riding down my block
alongside my brother, when my bike stopped moving. Action and Supporting Details 2: I fell to the
ground in slow motion with my bike on top me (By the way this bike was way to big for little Myra.) I
got up from the ground, and realized that my brother was laughing at me. I looked at my bike and saw
that my chain was popped off. I asked Andy what that was and he said I don t know fix it yourself. I

Conclusion: From this experience, I taught myself to fix my bike. Now every time my chain popped

The Perspective Of The Global North
Yasinthan Nithyananthamoorthy ENG4U0 Ms. Michielin October 13, 2014 In the perspective of the
global north I believe that we are all living in the digital age. In the global north, technology has been
included into our daily lifestyle. Technology was first created to reduce human effort. An example can
be as simple as writing a book. Instead of using hand writing to write you can use a computer. I know
when I write down on paper there are many things that are limited. Like when you constantly make
mistakes and you start to erase a lot and the paper will start to rip. Also when writing long essays, I
start it get lazy and my handwriting gets sloppy and in the end the essay isn t even readable. Where,
when using a computer you can edit your work from anywhere you want, there is different fonts to
choose from and there are certain tools that will help you like spell check and auto correct. This is
when technology is put into great use because it is used to help speed up the process of a simple thing
that is used in our life. I believe that it is amazing how technology has developed over the past few
years because now, not only does it simplify the things in life, it is now created to entertain us. Even
though technology is making our lives easier we must not depend on it too much because if we do, all
the other things that are important will start slowly disappearing, like books. The value of books are
slowly decreasing because of technology. B.O.O.K stands for the bank of

am going to talk about rules. The definition of a rule is an explicit, officially stated guideline that
governs group functions and member behavior. There are many examples of rules in the movie, but I
am going to talk about one particular incident. In beginning of movie when the students first arrive for
detention, Principal Vernon sets down the rules, what he expects them to do, and to behave under his
supervision. He does this to show that he is the one in charge and they must follow his rules or face
further Saturdays of detention. Now, I will show you this clip. Now I am going to talk about norms. A
norm is shared values, beliefs, behaviors, and procedures that govern a group s operation. I am going
to be talking about a social norm in particular. In the movie, five completely different people are stuck
in detention together. Social norms say that if they become friends over this one Saturday, they won t
stay friends once they leave dentition and will go on with their lives like nothing happened between
them. This is because their regular school friends would make fun of them because they are in
completely different social classes. Now I will show you this

Boeing Pros And Cons
When analyzing investment decisions, we did not consider in any detail the largest investment
decisions that most firms make, i.e., their acquisitions of other firms. Boeing s largest investment of
the last decade was not a new commercial aircraft but its acquisition of McDonnell Douglas in 1996.
At the time of the acquisition, Boeing s managers were optimistic about the merger, claiming that it
would create substantial value for the stockholders of both firms. What are the principles that govern
acquisitions? Should they be judged differently from other investments?
Firms are acquired for a number of reasons. In the 1960s and 1970s, firms such as Gulf and Western
and ITT built themselves into conglomerates by acquiring firms in other lines of business. In the

Justice and Gender in the Oresteia
Justice and Gender in the Oresteia
Justice and gender are put into relation with each other in Aeschylus Oresteia. In this trilogy, Greek
society is characterized as a patriarch, where the oldest male assumes the highest role of the oikos
(household). The household consists of a twofold where the father is the head, and the wife and
children are the extended family. The head of the oikos is the only one who possesses the authority to
seek justice. This is because the father acquires the authority through the inheritance law or male
lineage. On the contrary, Greek society seems to transform to a matriarch when Clytemnestra solely
murders Agamemnon because she, like primitive males, exercises destructive justice and enters the

Clytemnestra makes no implications of violence until she deceitfully welcomes Agamemnon, For
while the root still lives, the leaves bring cool shade to the house again. So coming back to hearth and
home, you bring a summer s warmth to us in wintertime, (77: 1108 1112). This quote serves as the
prelude to Clytemnestra finally utilizing destructive justice, and thus breaking the circle of violence.
Clytemnestra destructiveness is intrinsic in the scene where she welcome home Agamemnon, who
accompanied by Cassandra. Aeschylus writes, You go inside now. I m talking to you, Cassandra. Zeus,
not unkindly, has determined you should share the lustral water of our house, standing where all our
slaves crowd the altar of god who guards the house s wealth (79:1173 78). In this excerpt,
Clytemnestra shows that she is the head of her household because she can determine who is rightfully
welcome. One might argue that Clytemnestra is not revealing destructive justice because of her
calmness and generosity in this scene. However, the passage suggests that she is the head and
Cassandra is the extended family, and therefore Clytemnestra shows a hint of her destructiveness as
she enslaves Cassandra. Clytemnestra mercilessly tells Cassandra that it is Here with us you ll be
treated as custom warrants (1189).
Destructive justice is first seen when Clytemnestra says, My aim was so exact I won t deny it that he

There has been many predictions about when the world will end or how it would end but no one
believes it and no one knew whether they true or not. This time is true and you have to believe it. Now
there are more and more information to support Mayans prediction. According to the Mayan s
calculation the longest calender only goes up to December 21,2009. It takes a long time in order for a
calendar to go through one cycle. The longest cycle takes 26,000 years and the shortest cycle takes
5,000 years. Now our cycle is about to end, and once this cycle is complete everything will start over

Who Killed the Electric Car is a documentary which unfolds a complex set of events around the

EVs are less polluting even if the electricity comes from coal fired power plants. Furthermore, the
emissions of coal fired power plants can be controlled and regulated in ways not possible for vehicles,
as the number power plants is miniscule compared to the number of gas powered vehicles. The car
companies also argued that they would not be able to technically and financially meet the
requirements of the ZEV Mandate. Car and oil companies joined the Federal Government to sue the
State of California and overturn the ZEV Mandate.
Federal Government and oil companies put forward hydrogen fuel cells as a better alternative to gas
and battery electric cars. In contrast, interviews with two hydrogen experts gave details why fuel cell
vehicles are not likely to be available for another 15 20 years if ever, whereas battery electric
technology is available now, has been rapidly improving since the mid 1990s and is cost effective.
In 1999, having won some initial concessions in the Mandate, US automakers started shutting down

Roman Architecture And Its Impact On Society
Introduction Roman architecture is a thing of the past; however, it still has a large impact upon society
today. Roman buildings are what our buildings were derived from, a lot of the art we think of when we
see a building was once thought of by the romans, was once built by the romans, and some of these
buildings are still standing today, not many, but a few. Now, roman architecture is significant because
of how it affected the growth of our architecture, how it evolved changed how we evolved. This will
show how roman architecture began as a thing of functionality and grew to a thing of beauty. Roman
period Roman architecture was originally founded by the Greeks, and was, in reality, a continuation of
Greek architecture. Some say the Romans brought architecture to a new level, I say that the romans
just enhanced what was already there. The Romans adopted new techniques, used new materials, and
combined existing techniques/materials with creative designs to create new architectural structures. A
few examples of these new structures are; the basilica, triumphal arch, aqueduct, amphitheater,
granary building, and residential housing. Many of these additions to architecture were spurred by
Rome s need to grow. The reason that these buildings grew so large and became so wide spread was
because they were funded by a state apparatus, causing these constructions to survive until the present
day. Roman architects continued to follow the guidelines established

War doesn t determine what is right, only what is left, said Bertrand Russell. Everyone once in their
lives face Korean war in their history classes. Korean war, the first military attack after the cold war
occurred between 1950 to 1953 and left a hostile scar in the world with more than 5 million casualties
that the Koreas ended in a ceasefire, not a peace treaty, technically remaining the peninsula still at war.
The headline: Negotiations Break Down Between Two Koreas (Choe, The New York Times )
illustrates how the two Koreas failed to achieve an agreement as they couldn t narrow their differences
on holding reunions for separated families. In this negotiation talk, South Korea requested for
corporations on reuniting thousands of aging Koreans whose families are dispersed by the Korean war.
However, North Korea would carry out this only when the South agrees on continuing the tourist
business in collaboration with the North which was ceased after a South Korean tourist got shot by a
soldier from the North Korean army for roaming around the restricted area in 2008. The tourist
investigation had been a significant financial backer to the North and South Korea would resume this,
if they admit and apologize for their fault. Unfortunately, the talk was founded as a result of not
budging from its position. Later on, in August that year, they had a military engagement after two
South Korean border guards were crippled by the land mines from North Korea. In fact, breaking

Healthy Eating Persuasive Speech
I adore Gwyneth Paltrow. But much like my love of blue cheese and the Macarena, it s a devotion my
friends don t necessarily understand. Gwyneth Paltrow isn t that the one who tells people to sustain
themselves on algae and sprouts and to clean their vaginas with steam? they often ask.
Sure, Gwyneth Paltrow is one of these celebrities with a bag full of life improving advice. In general, I
hate people who try to tell me that my lifestyle isn t good enough. I, more or less, eat vegetarian plus I
did two sit ups last week. I m living my life the best I can. To me, keeping up with the newest trends in
healthy eating is just as stressful and superficial as following the crazy antics of the Kardashians.
This time last year, agave syrup seemed to be the it thing for my health conscious friends; last month,
I baked a cake with it and was treated as if I was trying to slip them some crack. Apparently agave
syrup is no longer healthy it causes cancer. Why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A few days ago, I came across her cookbook It s All Good. In it, she presents healthy recipes that are,
well, all good, I assume. The blurb on the back promised that this book would help me look better.
Bought!
Reading the foreword, I realized that me and GP are two totally different people. Living like me
means drinking barrels of wine and taking the phrase all you can eat far too literally. If you want to
live like Gwyneth, you have to say goodbye to the following things: coffee, alcohol, milk, eggs, sugar,
shellfish, deep sea fish, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, corn, gluten, meat, and soy, a.k.a.
everything that makes life worth living.
Shocked at this puritanism, my jaw dropped, and I m pretty sure I spat out a few peppers and an entire
deep sea fish. Would I be able to, at least for a few days, lead a proper life and eat like the queen of
pretentious lifestyle optimization? I had to try it out and

Research Paper On Rihanna
Unlike many past decades, the 2000s did not see the creation or emergence of many styles, with the
exception of a few indie related genres such as emo,[1] Alternative R B, and electronic subgenres like
Liquid funk and UK funky. Convergence of different styles was one of the more defining features of
the decade, as seen with the creation and commercial success of the British grime genre and trap and
chillwave in the United States.[2]
Nevertheless, distinguishable elements can be attributed to the decade from a musical point of view,
such as the common and mainstream usage of pitch correction software Auto Tune, as well as the rise
of the internet, media player programmes such as iTunes and music and video sharing websites such
as YouTube. Also, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
American and European popular music became more popular in Asia.
Genres such as J Pop and K Pop remained popular throughout the decade. In other parts of Asia,
including India, Indian pop music, closely linked to Bollywood films and filmi music, was popular
alongside Western pop music.
In Latin America, whilst R B, hip hop and pop rock did have influence and success, Latin based pop
music remained highly popular.
Reggaeton became a definitive genre in 2000s Latin music, as well as salsa and merengue. Subgenres
fusing Latin music such as merengue and reggaeton with hip hop and rap music became popular from
the middle of the decade onwards.
The Internet allowed unprecedented access to music and allowed artists to distribute music freely
without label backing.[6] Innumerable online outlets and sheer volume of music also offers musicians
more musical influences to draw from.[1][6]
Although more affection for the music is likely to grow over time, two public opinion polls listed the
2000s as the least favored tune decade of the last 50

Favorite Movie Assignment
For this assignment, I have chosen to pick one of my favorite movies called Star Wars episode 3
Revenge of the Sith. Because I am a huge fan of the whole Star Wars series, but this specific movie, I
have seen several times and it is my favorite out of all the movies included in the franchise. Before I
took this class, I thought this movie was phenomenal, I loved the way it was put together, the whole
story was interesting, it stood out from different movies because of its creative and unique concept of
the science fiction, adventure, action, romance, and fantasy genres. When I first saw this movie, I was
truly intrigued and didn t lose interest in any part throughout the film, it fascinated me. After I had
took this theater class though, and after analyzing several different movies, I looked back at the movie,
I realized that all the terminology and content that I have learned throughout the course wasn t put to
mind because I didn t pay attention to it really because I didn t even know the names of the terms that
I learned in class and the insights of how this film was put together, I was more focused on what was
happening in the story. After I took this class, I have changed my response to this film because when I
analyze this movie, I now have a deeper understanding of what goes on in this movie, I know this
because I think of how different scenes in the movie add to the story/narrative, and how some
characters are affected and how it adds to the story, I know what kind

He Named Me Malala Analysis
With rising tension in the Middle East, there is a surge in Western Ideology coming to the East and
vice versa. When reading West of Kabul, East of New York an Afghan American Story by Tamim
Ansary, and watching He Named Me Malala the documentary of Malala Yousafzai, it became evident
how people who were raised in the East are trying to cope with the fact that they re becoming
essentially Americanized, but also trying to hold on to their roots. With both cases, it is clear that
within the Middle East the people in question act differently than how they would in America. In the
end, these characters achieve a balance of Western and Eastern ideologies through retaining the
cultures that they came from. Tamim Ansary has an upper hand in balancing ... Show more content on

School Lunch Programs For Children
Every day, millions of school children around the world take advantage of school lunch programs.
Depending on the financial situation of their families, some of these students may qualify to get these
lunches for free. For the poorest children, this may be the only meal they get all day. For the rest of the
children who are not living in poverty, these program allow them to purchase a hot meal during school
at a very low price. While these school lunch programs help out countless students in many countries
around the world, there are numerous problems associated with them. Often, standards for food
preparation are not high enough. In countries like America, these lunches commonly lack the proper
nutrition children need. Instead, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For many of these children, this may be the only meal they get all day. While this program could be a
life saver for millions, it is plagued with problems that pose a serious threat to the students. Various
insects are commonly found in the food, including worms. In addition, larger animals including lizards
have also been found, causing 16 students to feel dizzy. Worse still, in 2013, at least 22 children were
dead after poison in the school lunch, with dozens more hospitalized. By nightfall...officials said they
believed they had found the cause: cooking oil stored in a container formerly used for insecticides
(Harris). The problem with school lunches in India is the lack of proper storage facilities (Chatterjee).
The schools lacked the finances to have dry locations to store grain, and as a result, a lot had to be
stored in the open. Once it starts raining, the bugs move in. Additionally, the people living in these
parts of India cannot afford to throw things away. As a result, everything is reused, especially.
Unfortunately, the insecticide container was not marked properly, and therefore food products were
stored inside. The government of India had good intentions when starting this free school lunch
program. Without doubt, it prevented many children from starving to death, and set minimum
guidelines for the number of calories and protein that lunches

High Command Letter 9
Preface
There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to
disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in
them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors and hail a materialist or a magician with the
same delight.
Letter 7
I wonder you should ask me whether it is essential to keep the patient in ignorance of your own
existence. That question, at least for the present phase of the struggle, has been answered for us by the
High Command. Our policy, for the moment, is to conceal ourselves.

Capacity For Empathy
The capacity for empathy allows us to better understand others and to be easier to read their energy.
However, this is a feature that can be harmful, so it is important to know how not to be subject to other
people s emotions and energies.
If you identified yourself as an overly empathetic person, would be good for yourself to take action
that you won t longer be harassed by the things which don t have anything to do with you. It is
important to keep energy for yourself and the people you love and that in their system do not miss the
information, emotion, and energy that you damage and draw strength.

Imagine a shield around you
When you are in contact with a person who does not suit you or you are in an environment that is full
of bad energy, visualize around you a transparent shield which does not transmit negative energy and
not let other people s negative emotions reach you.
Use the power of water
After a contact with a person who is very negative will be suitable for you to wash down all that
energy from yourself. If you are not able to take a shower, then at least wash your hands. Imagine how
the accumulated negative energy goes far away from you.
Express your emotions
Whatever you feel, it is important to express. Suppressing emotions never brought anything good to
anyone , in contrary, leads only to various diseases. Allow yourself to express concern, fear, anger,
disagreement, or anything else you feel.
Grounding
Imagine that you are connected to the ground with the pipes through which you send all your negative
energy in the ground, and imagine that you are taking the positive energy from the earth. This exercise
increases the flow of healthy energy in us.

Internal control report
24TH October 2014
Role Play Assessment
Due: week 14
Group:
Tuan Hoang Quoc Nguyen (Manager)
Julie Rocka (Accountant assistant)
Duy Trong Thai Le (Client)
Pokchat Janarawat (client)
Part 1:
Part 2:
This report is produced in order to provide clients a basic compare between the two accounting
computer system, Excel and MYOB. By doing this, the customer could choose the best accounting
software depend on the business size and its features.
_The major difference between Excel and MYOB in accounting is that, Excel is a manual system;
mean the users must input all the transactions data manually in the Excel spread sheet. If the firms
have some credit transaction, double entry may be required. Then at the end of an accounting period,
the Excel users (owners) may provide the spread sheet to accountants or someone who have
accounting background to prepare BAS for the ATO or other financial reports for stakeholders.
Unlikely, MYOB or Mind Your Own Business is a specialist accounting software that designed for
small business and is probably the best known accounting software in Australia and New Zealand.
With MYOB the users only need to input the transaction information and the system will
automatically prepare the BAS, financial report and also bank reconciliation. Moreover, MYOB is a
more complex accounting computer system compare to Excel, since it provides different functions that
help the owner to manage their business; such as payroll, inventory,

Fireflies Figurative Language
Have you ever had any troubles sleeping at night? Some people might have an inability to sleep, a
sleeping disorder called insomnia. But, for Adam Young, he had trouble sleeping at night, and yet, still
have a very colorful vivid dreams. In Fireflies , by Owl City, Adam Young is trying to show his vivid
dreams when he was young by using many figurative languages such as simile, metaphor, hyperbole,
personification, and repetition.
In the famous single, Fireflies , there were many uses of similes and metaphors to show his vivid
dreams when he was young. In stanza 6, Adam Young sang Cause I feel like such an insomniac . This
is an example of simile, Adam Young is comparing himself to a person who is regularly unable to
sleep. In the last stanza, Adam Young sang Because my dreams are bursting at the seams . This shows
an example of metaphor, because he is comparing two thoughts without using like or as. In stanza 7,
Adam Young sang I got misty eyes as they said farewell . This is another example of metaphor, Adam
Young is trying to convey the idea that he is going to cry as the fireflies said a farewell. By using
many similes and metaphors, we can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the word far too tired seeming contradiction may reveal an unexpected truth. In another stanza, Adam
Young sang awake when I m asleep . This is an example of an oxymoron, because oxymoron is a
combination of two words that appear to contradict each other, and by staying awake when asleep is a
contradictory between the two terms. The use of oxymoron and paradox is shown throughout the lyric.
The purpose is to show that he is awake when asleep at the same time, this will give a clearer idea of
him having a vivid dream when trying to

Essay On Health Disparity In African American Men
The higher incidence of prostate cancer in African American/Black men compared to other
racial/ethnic groups is a major health disparity. The statistics surrounding this health disparity are
scary, with African American men having a prostate cancer mortality rate twice as high as whites and
a prostate cancer incidence two thirds higher (Modlin, 2012). The health disparity of African
American men s incidence of prostate cancer is a huge problem from a public health perspective
because it makes African American men less productive, there are higher costs in the healthcare field
than would be if the gap didn t exist, and a loss of sense of control from African American men
because of financial concerns/aftermath of treatment. One behavioral influence ... Show more content

A biological influence on this health disparity is a genetic predisposition seen in African American
men. Several studies have shown a chromosome that is more common in African American men that
increases the risk of prostate cancer. The chromosome is 8q24 variants, which is the most commonly
seen, as well as, BCL2 and EphB2 linking to a higher incidence of prostate cancer (Modlin, 2012).
The genetic predisposition has also been proven to cause prostate cancer to be a more aggressive
disease in African Americans, likely leading to the higher mortality rates. The behavioral influence of
being less likely to get screened and the biological influence of a genetic predisposition interact to
influence the health disparity. There is no way of changing the genetic predisposition so that already
puts African American men in a place for higher incidence. Being they already have that higher
incidence due to genetics, adding into the equation African Americans being less likely to be screened
only makes the health disparity

Analysis Of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome ( Pcos )
About 5 10% of the female population is affected by Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). The cause
is unknown, but it is considered to be the most common endocrine disorder in women. Genetics and
insulin resistance are believed to play a significant role. One of the first symptoms is an irregular
period. Others include an imbalance in the female sex hormones, weight gain, and male patterned hair
growth and balding. Aside from hormonal treatments, there are some natural ways to treat PCOS and
eliminate many of the symptoms. A proper diet and weight loss routine is essential. After my own
horrific experience with PCOS, I decided to take my health into my own hands. At the beginning of
the month, I weighed 320 lbs. My goal is to get down to 180 lbs. by April 13th, 2014. Today is Day 13
of my lifestyle change and my current weight is 301.2 lbs. Here are some helpful things I ve learned

more seriously.
7) Aesthetics makes people think about the painting, makes people think long and hard what is going
on in the picture. Non restrictive thinking me people want to know the meaning behind the painting,
what is going on? What is the point of the picture? When I first looked at the painting of Guernica all I

touches me deep down inside my heart.
8) The cultural landmark I have chosen is the statue of Alexander the Great, which is located in the
city of Skopje which is in the country of Macedonia. He was one of the greatest leaders that the
country ever had, so it s very important to the Macedonian heritage, He was the general of the
Macedonian army in 340 B.C, he was one of history smartest and powerful military and rulers. This is
important to me because he controlled all Mediterranean border and eliminated his enemies to become
king, he had to conquer all of Persia and Egypt, and he was only 25 years old. Lastly why he is
important to me is because I was named after one the greatest Military leaders and most powerful

  • 2. Women In Richard III What are the functions of the three female characters in Richard iii? How do they shape the plot by their interactions with Richard? Shakespeare uses female characters in his plays to illustrate a point or affect the plot, just like in Richard III. The world that Shakespeare shows us in Richard III is a man s world. Women are presented as being on the sidelines to grieve, complain, or bury the dead. Richard views women as instruments, as shown when he announces his plots to the audience. For example, the marriage with Anne and Elizabeth are only moves in his quest of intrigue and power. There are three main females characters that affect the plot with their interactions with the main character. They are Anne, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Margaret. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His mother says ... Shame serves thy life and doth thy death attend... (Act IV, Scene 4, l.2986); even though she is his mother, she sees what Richard has done and does not approve of it. She is a character that reminds Richard that he is constantly wrong and he came ... on earth to make the earth my hell... (Act IV, Scene 4, l.15). She has very strong feelings of revenge towards Richard, like most of the females in the play, but is powerless in front of him. Women in Richard III often see through his intrigues and predict dramatic consequences from his acts. Shakespeare uses the women to point out moral truths and emphasize general principles of moral and political order. Anne, Elizabeth, the Duchess and Margaret each contribute in furthering Shakespeare s moral themes in three ways: through their roles as victims, in their cries for revenge, and in alluding to a higher moral order that transcends men s actions. They represent morals in society even though they are powerless. The character of King Richard III is perhaps Shakespeare s most evil creation. Shakespeare provides a contrast to Richard s villainy, women. They function as voices of protest and morality; they add conflict and tension to the plot and represent all the suffering caused by Richard to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Abjection Stage And The Narcissistic Stage These are the Chora stage, the Abjection stage and the Narcissistic stage. The Chora stage covers the first six months of an infant s life. It is a pre linguistic stage where the infant is dominated by a chaotic mixture of acuities, feelings and needs. It is also a stage when the infant is oblivious about the need to distinguish itself from its mother or the world around and is fully dependent on its mother for the gratification of its desires. This stage is followed by the stage of Abjection which occurs from 4 8 months of age. The infant at this stage becomes conscious of the differences between self and m/other and in a bid to develop the contours between self and m/other separates itself from the mother. Kristeva refers to this act of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now the child has a clear perception of the subject, object and the abject. The subject (child) submits himself to the prevailing rules and customs of the society, the object (other) opposes the subject and disturbs the smooth run of things whereas the abject threatens the very identity and wholeness of the subject. Objects can lead to either or both fascination and repulsion. When an object is on the verge of destroying the subject s existence, it becomes an abject i.e. something to get rid of. In a similar manner an abject becomes an object, when it is no longer a serious threat to the subject s hegemony over its own self. In the Symbolic realm or the linguistic stage the child is further separated from a connection with the mother as language itself finds meaning within its own internal logic of differences. For example the meaning of the word hot is understood only when we deduce the differences while comparing it with the word cold . Expanding upon this concept of abjecting or differentiating ourselves from others, Kristeva further contends that all acts of abjection or creating borders between the subject and the abject at the level of individuals, communities, states, nations etc. originate from the psychic isolation prompted ... • 6. How The Development Of Outdoor Play Is Supported Through... 1.5 Explain how the development of outdoor play is supported through the combination Benefits of child initiated play There are many advantages to child initiated play. Children s emotional development is particularly supported because children are able to make their own choices. They also gain independence skills as they can help themselves to resources. This type of play helps children to be creative as they have to develop their own ideas of how to play indoors and outdoors. Concentration many adults notice that children concentrate for quite long periods during child initiated play. It is not uncommon for 3 and 4 year olds to focus for an hour or so on making models, creating dens or just playing with sensory materials. Children often have a clear purpose and idea of what they are doing and why. Being able to concentrate for long periods is good for children s cognitive development. Social skills By playing independently of adults, children have the chance to practise their social skills. They might squabble or raise their voices at times, but most children from 3 years or so are able to work things out themselves. Learning to take turns and cooperate helps children s social skills. Benefits of adult led play There are many reasons why early years settings provide adult led play. Adult led play enables children to learn new skills and concepts. Adult led play is also used so that children can learn specifi¬c skills and concepts. By playing an outside board ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Object Storage Systems Are Complex Systems Data Indexing Object storage systems are complex systems that require high speed data management system to handle the vast amount of object attributes. In CADOS, we take advantage of PostgreSQL (Stonebraker and Rowe, 1986) database to store the object and stripe information. Namespace technique is widely used to prevent the name conflict of objects with the same name. Each object in CADOS is accessed via well defined namespace paths. The object path column is represented via ltree structure (ltree, 2015) in order to support hierarchical tree like structure in an efficient way. This structure allows us to use regular expression like patterns in accessing the object attributes. Security One of the distinctive property of the object ... In onmessage handler of the slave web workers, unique IDs with URLs are posted to the slave web worker, then each slave web worker starts retrieving data segments from the cloud object storage, again, by means of AJAX communication technique (3). As the slave web worker finishes the retrieval of the data segment, it posts the data pointer and corresponding index to the master web worker (4). Index of the data segment is used to locate the data segment on the main cache created by the master web worker. Because the data is passed to the master web worker using pointers, there is no data copy overhead. Once all the slave workers finish data retrieval operations, the master web worker writes out the cache to the hard disk (5). The downside of this technique the total amount of retrieved data is limited by the RAM capacity of the user, although we anticipate this feature to be introduced in the future as a part of HTML standard with the introduction of the File API: ... GHG Emissions Problem A survey conducted by Stanford University and Resources for the Future found that 61 percent of the US respondents supported taxing corporations for releasing Green House Gas Emissions. Additionally, 67 percent of the respondents agreed with a Carbon Taxation policy (Lehmann). Climate change concerns have been growing on a global level due to the substantial increase in green house gas emissions mainly due to human activities. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Hamilton Project, CATO Institute, Stanford and Harvard all agree that policymakers should set the price of the carbon tax equal to the social cost of carbon (P=SCC). The Cato institute defines SCC or the social cost of carbon as the present‐discounted value of the net future external damages from an additional unit of carbon dioxide emissions (Murphy). This is one of the key concepts that is examined when it comes to economic and/or environmental policy decisions regarding CO2 emissions. This in turn means that a hypothetical carbon tax would be equal to the environmental and social negative externalities that are produced by each additional ton on CO2 emissions (marginal cost). The Hamilton project gives a hypothetical tax scenario of $16 per ton and increasing by 4% per year or so in accordance with the inflation rate. The reason for the incremental increase is because $16 is still far below the Government s central estimate of $23 and below Canada and British Columbia s carbon tax policies ( New ). Starting at a lower rate will allow for the gradual assimilation into this new tax policy, if it were implemented. Environmental Benefits The main purpose of instituting a carbon tax would be to reduce carbon emissions, reduce the environmental costs, and thus mitigate some of the effects of climate change. Two other accounts that have risk, but do not have as much risk as the inventory account are: accounts receivable and the property and equipment account. Finally, another account that should be monitored is the short term investments account. The inventory account has the greatest risk due to the numerous business and economic factors the affect AEO s industry. As a specialty retailer, AEO must continue to maintain it s competitive advantage in terms of forecasting customer trend preferences or risk producing out of date product styles that will lead to excess inventory. Also, due to the requirement that AEO must enter in to production agreements with suppliers far in advance in order to guarantee inventory, they are even more exposed to fluctuations in consumer preference or economic changes such as a drop in consumer confidence or discretionary spending. AEO appears to typically have an inventory turnover ratio of approximately 6, which is lower than the industry average of 10. During World War II, prisoners of war have been tortured, and experimented on. Back then, people even have a place to design and test out experiments, they call it Unit 731 . During World War II, Prisoners of War were tortured by many different ways, just like how the boys in Lord of the Flies were tortured by their own captivity while on the island. Prisoners of war (POW) were experimented in many different ways. One way they have been experimented was when the Japanese tested out biological weapons on multiple prisoners of war. Most of the individual used for the experiments were Chinese and Korean. (histclo,1). It was a dark time for Mexican Americans, who were negatively referred as Chicanos . Chicanos did not always have the empowered meaning it has today. In the early sixties, Chicano was often used to refer to Mexican Americans as lower class, ignorant and as a derogatory racial identification. Furthermore, racism, exploitation, inequality, conformity and assimilation were all main factors of the early sixties liberal agenda. Chicanos often faced numerous struggles as Mexican Americans were often exploited profoundly in the workplace. Along with being exploited, Chicanos often face new threats like being fired, pay cuts, and ultimately deportation due racism. Anglo societies were advanced due to the inequalities Chicanos faced from education system and workplace. In addition, Chicanos who were proud to be brown or embraced their culture, and practice their norms were often seen as outcast. • 12. Roosevelt, Jefferson, Washington, And Fdr Essay When presenting the question of who deserves the title of best President of the United States, one would not be surprised to find Lincoln, Jefferson, Washington, and FDR as the frontrunners. While each of these presidents was undisputedly successful and groundbreaking in their own right, all fall short to America s first modern president Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt, assuming office at the turn of the century, redefined and reimagined the role of the president and the executive officialdom. By expanding the powers of the presidency, Roosevelt was able to move the country forward in both the international arena and on the home front. Roosevelt s vast success can greatly be attributed to his charisma, character, and persuasion skills. He understood that the art of governing was truly the power to persuade, and he mastered the trade. Roosevelt not only improved life domestically as he fought against inequality and corrupt business practices, but he also achieved his goal of gaining influence abroad, thus earning the United States a powerful platform on the global stage. Roosevelt s natural leadership, charm, bravery, and compassion combined with his thorough understanding of the country s needs, both for the individual and for the long term well being of the country, made him the most successful president in United States history. The Problem Of Textbooks Prices During the Spring semester of 2017, I completed my Applied Field Experience in the state s largest student run nonprofit organization, New Jersey Public Interest Research Group (NJPIRG). I worked on the Making Textbooks More Affordable campaign, which addressed the problem of prohibitively high textbooks prices. A survey that involved more than 2,000 college students in 33 states and 156 different campuses finds out that average student spends $1,200 each year on textbooks and supplies alone, which equals to 39 percent of tuition and fees at a community college, and 14 percent of tuition and fees at a four year public university (Bidwell, 2014). Eventually, students still have to endure the excessively high price of textbooks. So, how to reduce the price of textbooks fundamentally should be taken into consideration. NJPIRG came up with the idea of Open and Affordable Textbook (OAT) Project since 2014. They asserted that universities should found the project by letting professors adopting open and free textbooks for their classes, so students can save money on textbooks. Open textbooks are defined as textbooks have been funded, published, and licensed to be freely used, adapted, and distributed while download for no cost. These books have been reviewed by faculty from a variety of colleges and universities to assess their quality (Open Textbook Library). Many colleges and universities in America have successful open textbooks program for reference, including the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Kansas State University, Tacoma Community College and the University of Maryland, and so on. After two years of effort, NJPIRG successfully persuade the Rutgers University to launch the OAT Project to protect students interest. The play displayed the social and economic problems occurring in the United States at that time. Arthur Miller was born into a lower middle class family. His father owned a business of manufacturing ladies wear that suffered a loss during the Great Depression. According to Sinclair s article on Death of a Salesman the country came out of the depression when World War II started and after the War there was an economic boom that increased inner city business and building of apartment housings. The economic boom brought prosperity for the United States but mostly for the rich as inflation increased. Typical normal Americans and low paid workers like salesman, shop workers, unskilled workers, janitors and waiters experienced the bigger hit having a hard time affording the basic necessities. For these people the American Dream of being successful and well off became impossible as debt and purchases on credit increased. People were having a hard time trying to make it with what they already had. Miller used his play to criticize the social and philosophical failures of Capitalist society. During his writing process, Miller was conflicted with how to portray the troubles of the character to an audience and didn t quite have the complete story. His encounter with his uncle Manny Newman, who was a salesman and refused to accept failure and lack of confidence in his household, inspired Miller to create the character of Willy and transform the incomplete story to the play we know ... Descartes Res Cogitans, Res Extensa, God Recalling the distinction made earlier between primary objects of perception (objects of mathematics) and secondary objects of perception (apparent objects formed from observer dependent sensory properties), Descartes investigates whether material objects exist by asking two questions: (1) do primary objects exist? and (2) do secondary objects exist? In answering the first question, Descartes draws on a distinction between imagining primary objects and conceiving of primary objects. He notes that he conceives of primary objects (such as triangles) clearly and distinctly, but this in no way means that such objects actually exist. It only means that they might exist since the idea contains no contradiction. (See the discussion of possible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Descartes argues that a distinct idea of my own mind does not include the ideas of imagination, sensation, purposeful movement of body, appetites or most emotions (Principles, part one, §48, I, 208 9). That is, had I none of these things, I would continue to be the same self, although in a much impoverished manner, and could still think (and that alone is my essence) in other ways. All of the above involve some relation to the body. But the reverse is not true: it is impossible to think of imagination or sensation or purposeful movement without a mind. That is to say, the former are of the body, but not merely of the body. Descartes writes, In imagining, it [the mind] turns towards the body (Meditations 6, II, 51). These things are distinct from mind as possible modes are from a thing (e.g. as a cuboid shape is from a body). On the other hand, mind cannot be thought without it thinking, at least in the sense of pure thought therefore thinking in the non bodily sense of pure intellection (see Principles, part one, §32, I, 204) is an essential mode. This distinction between merely possible and essential modes provides an argument for the separability of pure mind from things of the body. But, again, separability does not mean separate the immediate and almost overwhelming fact of our existence is the factual togetherness of mind and body. The Perspective Of The Global North Yasinthan Nithyananthamoorthy ENG4U0 Ms. Michielin October 13, 2014 In the perspective of the global north I believe that we are all living in the digital age. In the global north, technology has been included into our daily lifestyle. Technology was first created to reduce human effort. An example can be as simple as writing a book. Instead of using hand writing to write you can use a computer. I know when I write down on paper there are many things that are limited. Like when you constantly make mistakes and you start to erase a lot and the paper will start to rip. Also when writing long essays, I start it get lazy and my handwriting gets sloppy and in the end the essay isn t even readable. Where, when using a computer you can edit your work from anywhere you want, there is different fonts to choose from and there are certain tools that will help you like spell check and auto correct. This is when technology is put into great use because it is used to help speed up the process of a simple thing that is used in our life. I believe that it is amazing how technology has developed over the past few years because now, not only does it simplify the things in life, it is now created to entertain us. Clytemnestra destructiveness is intrinsic in the scene where she welcome home Agamemnon, who accompanied by Cassandra. Aeschylus writes, You go inside now. I m talking to you, Cassandra. Zeus, not unkindly, has determined you should share the lustral water of our house, standing where all our slaves crowd the altar of god who guards the house s wealth (79:1173 78). In this excerpt, Clytemnestra shows that she is the head of her household because she can determine who is rightfully welcome. One might argue that Clytemnestra is not revealing destructive justice because of her calmness and generosity in this scene. However, the passage suggests that she is the head and Cassandra is the extended family, and therefore Clytemnestra shows a hint of her destructiveness as she enslaves Cassandra. Clytemnestra mercilessly tells Cassandra that it is Here with us you ll be treated as custom warrants (1189). Destructive justice is first seen when Clytemnestra says, My aim was so exact I won t deny it that he could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Furthermore, the emissions of coal fired power plants can be controlled and regulated in ways not possible for vehicles, as the number power plants is miniscule compared to the number of gas powered vehicles. The car companies also argued that they would not be able to technically and financially meet the requirements of the ZEV Mandate. Car and oil companies joined the Federal Government to sue the State of California and overturn the ZEV Mandate. Federal Government and oil companies put forward hydrogen fuel cells as a better alternative to gas and battery electric cars. In contrast, interviews with two hydrogen experts gave details why fuel cell vehicles are not likely to be available for another 15 20 years if ever, whereas battery electric technology is available now, has been rapidly improving since the mid 1990s and is cost effective. Roman buildings are what our buildings were derived from, a lot of the art we think of when we see a building was once thought of by the romans, was once built by the romans, and some of these buildings are still standing today, not many, but a few. Now, roman architecture is significant because of how it affected the growth of our architecture, how it evolved changed how we evolved. This will show how roman architecture began as a thing of functionality and grew to a thing of beauty. Roman period Roman architecture was originally founded by the Greeks, and was, in reality, a continuation of Greek architecture. Some say the Romans brought architecture to a new level, I say that the romans just enhanced what was already there. The Romans adopted new techniques, used new materials, and combined existing techniques/materials with creative designs to create new architectural structures. A few examples of these new structures are; the basilica, triumphal arch, aqueduct, amphitheater, granary building, and residential housing. Many of these additions to architecture were spurred by Rome s need to grow. The reason that these buildings grew so large and became so wide spread was because they were funded by a state apparatus, causing these constructions to survive until the present day.
