Women In The Office
The Office is an award winning sitcom about a humorous outtake on modern day office life.
(NBC) Each documentary style episode portrays different situations in the workplace. In episode
fifteen of season two called Boys and Girls focuses on a common problem in the workplace,
gender gaps. Gender and different minority s issues have been a problem in the business industry
for many years. Women are treated differently for many reasons such as stereotypes and
perceptions. (Modaff, Butler, Dewine, 2012) In the boys and girls episode a women s seminar is
being held in the office. First, I will be talking about the behaviors presented in the seminar. The
women were circled around a conference room, all calmly listening to Jan, One of the women
from corporate, held the seminar. Jan felt like the office needed to have an all women s conference
to talk about issues with women and the workplace. The behaviors that were taken place in the
seminar were not surprising. The women were joking around and not taking the seminar seriously.

One of the positive for having a seminar is stated in the episode. Jan states that they use seminars
to help find women who might be a good attribute to the corporate life. When women are given
the opportunity to move up in a company is always going to be a positive. Another positive is
confidence building. The seminar in The Office episode was not the best example of a women s
seminar but they can be very helpful to women. Women are allowed to speak their minds freely and
express their feelings and challenges they face in the workplace. Women can also gain trust and
better communication in other women the workplace for a better workplace environment. The
seminars can really help women learn about themselves and about women in general in the
workplace. A negative outcome is women not gaining any insight from the special

Biomes In North America Essay
North America is home to a wide variety of different biomes, ranging from blistering desert to
frozen tundra. This range in climate provides inhabitants of North America with not only options
of where to live, but also pride in where they come from and how they were raised. Different
states or provinces are known for their weather patterns and their ensuing biomes. Although there
has been a lot of talk recently about how humans are shaping their environment, today we hope to
show you how the environment we live in has played a pivotal role in shaping who we are and how
we live.
Biomes in North America are contained within the land of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and
countries in Central America. This large area has a broad range of temperature and precipitation
which results in nine separate biomes ranging from tropical rainforest, deciduous forest, boreal
forest, tundra, temperate forest, grasslands, deserts, and chaparral woodlands. A biome is a
specific area of the world that can be classified into a group according to the plants and animals that
live in it. What ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bottom half of the United States is mostly filled with desert, while the top half is filled with
both coniferous and deciduous forests and prairie biomes, and the upper portion of North America
(enveloping most of Canada) is filled with largely arctic tundra. Such a large continent means that
North America is home to many different biomes, and although I try to describe North American
biomes based on their significance, the truth is that within each state and/or province, you will find
many different biomes. For example in the state of Washington, you have both kinds of forests, the
alpine and subalpine biomes, wetlands, sand dunes, grasslands, and even desert. This variety is
consistent across most provinces and states, and is partially responsible for the proud nature of
North American inhabitants, in relation to their

Containment in Boxes
A box without hinges, key, or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid.
J. R. R. Tolkien The box is a ubiquitous object, a box of some kind or another can be found in
every culture. For the purpose of this essay it will look at the box from a western viewpoint.
Given the perimeters of this essay I will confine the discussion of the box to Art Therapy, as it is
made, appointed or constructed in the art therapy context; and instead of clinical studies I will
be using art as examples. Boxes appear in all cultures and times, their uses range from hiding, to
safe keeping; from precious to the mundane, The coffin to the bread box. Boxes have become
modern man s ways of organising their office, house, garage, and under the bed secrets. You can
shop at stores dedicated entirely to boxes of all shapes and sizes; The Container Store in the
USA, is a great example of this, an almost obsessive need the Western modern man has to contain
things. Might there be some deeper unmet needs being communicated through this desire to
contain the physical things in ones life? True a way of organising, but could it also be a way of
finding physical structure and space just by putting on a lid and sliding it into a slot under a bed,
or into a closet? The ability to controls one s own chaos without too much work or introspection.
Could it be possible that western people find organising and putting things into containers de
stressing because it gives the feeling of having

The Development Of Attachment Bonds
The development of attachment bonds to other biological figures plays an important role in
emotional development. Throughout life, an individual will form several relationships, some of
which will be sincere and intimate while others will be superficial. However, collectively these
relationships provide the foundation of our communities, families, and friendships and become
essential to our survival as a species. A secure attachment bond can be classified as the interactive
emotional relationship between a caregiver and infantinvolving the emotional responses of the
caregiver to the infant s cues (Bowlby, 1969). These emotional responses can be expressed in a
variety of forms including gestures, sounds, or even movements. Thus, this interactive emotional
relationship between the caregiver and infant brings the two closer together creating an
environment that allows the infant to feel safe and secure, further developing their ability to
communicate and interact with others (Bowlby, 1969). So, in talking about attachment bonds, how
are attachments developed in the first place? Starting from birth, infants are essentially unattached
emotionally to any significant figure and show no social discriminatory responses to anyone
specific. As the baby grows and develops, they will enter the second phase in which they can
distinguish between familiar and unfamiliar faces, voices, and smells. At this point, they are not
completely attached to any one individual, despite their

During the late 14th century until about the 16th century,...
During the late 14th century until about the 16th century, Italy and other European countries
underwent a time of rebirth of the Ancient Greek and Roman classics. This era was known as the
Renaissance. The citizens of Europe were surrounded by advancements in technology, music, and
culture. However, one of the most prevalent changes that is still in affect today is the newly
founded techniques in the arts. Artists began to think outside of the box, and they made some of
the best paintings of their time. They used different methods than artists from previous centuries
had, including classicism, secularism, humanism, and individualism. One of the greatest artists of
all time, Michaelangelo, is most famous for his Italian Renaissancework.... Show more content on

Perspective was important during the Italian Renaissance because it made artworks look more real
and three dimensional. Perspective was a technique in which an artist would use lines to establish a
foreground, middleground, and a background. In centuries past, many of the artists works would
look flat because they didn t use perspective. In the PietГЎ Mary looks farther away from the
audience than Jesus body does. At the same time, Jesus head takes a spot in the middleground of
the artwork. He is able to depict a Jesus foot to look like it is on top of or mixing with the dress
that Mary is wearing. This was important because in the past, many works of arts backgrounds
would all mix together to create a flat painting. In his sculpture, Michaelangelo uses perspective to
give a more realistic feeling to the artwork.
One of the most prominent developments in Michaelangelo s sculpture is his use of realism and
expression. In his sculpture, realism is shown through the creases of Mary s dress and veil and
the ways that the body s of the two subjects were molded. They were more 3 D and didn t look
flat; they showed more dimension than sculptures in the past had. At the same time, Michaelangelo
also used expression in both of the subjects. Mary looks like she is

Research Paper On Quitting A Job
Quitting A Job A job to many people might be a new opportunity to improve their financial
status, yet, to others like myself it can be a tortuous experience one may have not been ready for.
Long shifts, low pay, co workers, bosses, and stress are the biggest reasons why many people
believe they want to quit their job. Although, quitting a job is never easy for anyone even for
those who dislike it. To some the process of resigning can be extremely difficult to plan and carry
out. Through Personal experience I have found a way to resign accordingly, here are steps to do
in order to quit a job. First step to quitting is having a plan. Before deciding whether to quit or
not, be sure that this decision is the right for you. Think about the advantages and disadvantages
the job you have now offers you. For Example, if income was the problem. be prepared to find a
job with higher pay. Apply for jobs beforehand and ask questions regarding problems from your
current job. Strive to find jobs with fields that interest you. There are four things to consider
about when applying for jobs: salary, benefits, environment, and schedule. Once the job search
has ended and a new job is found, work at the new job with vacation hours or on your free time to
have a sense of what you are about to bestow upon. Inform the new employer of the situation you
are currently facing and ask if they can provide flexible hours during the resigning process. After
you are sure you want the new job, then comes the

Reflection Of Jesus And The Perfect Life In Nursing
As I began to enfold the many great words in this book I began with chapter one. The first key
point I came across was learning how Jesus is our model. The book described how Jesus was not
just a spirit guiding us through our lives all though he could have been. Jesus walked this earth and
lived out a humanlife. Jesusshowed us how to live the perfect life, and I believe this is a major
aspect to carry over to the nursing field. Being a Christian nurse inspires us to be the best version
of ourselves. As we reflect on the way Jesus lived we should do everything possible to live out a
life like him. Jesus lived the perfect life and as Christian nurses we should strive to be like him.
The next thing that stood out to me in chapter one was the closing prayer. It states how Jesus gave
up heaven to come down here and save us humans. God and Jesus really both gave the ultimate
sacrifice. They both gave up so much to help us humans. To relate this to the nursing field is
very simple. God and Jesus gave up everything, so I think it our duty as nurses to help and give
back. They sacrificed so much, so being a Christian nurse entails us to sacrifice, give back, and
help others just like God and Jesus did for us. As I ponder on the questions at the end of chapter
I see how much Jesus really did for us. We learned how to live the perfect life from Jesus. I see
how much pain and suffering God and Jesus went through to save us as humans. These questions
make me realize that being a giver

Benefits Of Living In A Shared House In College
Living in a shared house while you are in college is for sure your life experience. Either you
have great, good or not that good experience, there is a high possibility that what you experience
in a shared house remain in your memories for the rest of your life. One of the reasons might be
the fact that you have to live with people that probably you had never seen before. Moreover,
those people can be from different parts of the country. But whatever the reason, anyone who study
far from his or her hometown has a strong impact on his or her life, where very positive o very
negative.
When a person move to another city because of college, positively influenced by the change. First
of all because it is a great opportunity to expand someone s friendship, for example if the person
move to a house where there are ten other students, which are usually from different towns or
cities, it is a chance to have ten more friends. At the same time, it allows to know more about those
owns, because despite the fact that they are in the same country and even in the same region, there
are slight cultural differences such as different names for the same fruit for example.
On the other hand, people s experience living in a shared house may not be the best, especially for
those ones who had never been left home. For them, it might be really difficult because usually they
are not used to do housework, and as they are on they are on they own, they might experience some
frustration. For example, a

Andersonville Prison Research Paper
Andersonville Prison epitomized the ultimate crime against humanity. The atrocities that transpired
in this confederate prison sparked reaction and outrage at the conclusion of the Civil War. During
the American Civil War, a prisoner of war was a person who was captured and imprisoned by the
enemy. Both the Union and the Confederates had to deal with such matters of prisoners of war.
According to Gabor S. Boritt, both the North and the South each had approximately 30 prison
camps that held about 194,000 Union soldiers and about 214,000 Confederate soldiers during the
Civil War. (Boritt 1989) Andersonville was a confederate camp that had a reputation of being one

Prison life in Andersonville was considerably worse than the average prison which is why it is
considered the worst of the Civil War prison camps. Other prison camps of the time although
were a rough life, had better infrastructure, supplies and cleanliness. For example in Salisbury,
North Carolina was one of the first Confederate civil War prison camps. Its first prisoners
enjoyed playing baseball in their free time. Although the prison did experience overcrowding
like all prison war camps, it still had much better supply flow into its walls. Alton, Illinois
Federal prison was one of the first Union prison camps. This camp did experience a lack of
supplies and disease but had enough space that prisoners did not have to live in the elements.
Andersonville had a large flaw in it making that made it a much worse prison camp to stay in
rather than these other two. That flaw was that Andersonville was made in great haste and wasn t
even finished before it was in use. (Civil War Prison Camps

Early on, within the opening scene, the headmaster addresses the students about the importance
of keeping tradition, within the school and their personal lives. Due to the ways tradition has
been ingrained into their lives, the group of boys is reluctant to explore new grounds. Charlie
stands obediently, listening to the teachers, Neil continues his monotonous life, and Knox
admires Chris Noel from afar. Due to current societal norms, Charlie is forbidden from even
considering to disobey a teacher, Neil is tied to his life by a stern father, and Knox cannot make
his move on Chris while she has a boyfriend. However, after meeting, Mr. Keating the boys soon
learn to move on from societal constraints that bound them to their misery. He actively
encourages the boys to individualize themselves, they shouldn t adhere to tradition if it makes
them miserable. Because of his advice, the boys choose to pursue their dreams, Charlie begins to
rebel by writing an article that asks why girls can t go to Welton, which defies the tradition of the
school. Neil pursues acting and lands the leading role in the production of A Midsummer Night s
Dream, to the dismay of his father, and Knox goes after Chris. All these acts of defiance were in
pursuit of their happiness and catalyzed by their teacher. Many audience members will find these
youthful acts of defiance reminiscent of their own youth, the classic rebellious teenage years. Since
the audience has also acted similarly to these youths, they project themselves into our protagonists
as they reject tradition. Ultimately, these acts of rebellion allow the audience to be a part of the
story without breaking the fourth wall, and in the end when the Keating s class stand to salute him,

Blue Zones
Blue Zones is an anthropological concept that describes the characteristic lifestyles and the
environments of the world s longest lived people. They are the places in the world where people
live longer and healthier than anywhere else on earth. The four blue zones he talked about were
the Italian island of sardinia; Okinawa, Japan; Loma Linda, California; and Costa Rica s isolated
Nicoya Peninsula. One of the common factors all these places had were the eating styles. All of
them had a plant based diet. They all also lived in tribes whom were basically considered family
just in case something would have happened to them or their family, these tribe members would
be the backup plan and are the people who take care of them. So there social engagement levels
were all high due to these tribe member always being with them and being with one another. All
blue zones had a no smoking factor, which obviously caused them to live longer. My favorite
similarity they all had was they always did something active. By active i dont mean running a mile

That we the human race is not programmed for living long. For you to live a 100 years old you
must have to have hit the genetic lottery. Also that treatments can not make us live longer. Our
body s have 35 trillion cells and that treatment is going to change that. For example someone
who is 65 years old is ageing at a rate of 125 times faster than a person who is 12 years old. The
way we treat older people is also a big factor, instead of throwing someone in a retirement home,
keep them around and treat them normal. In blue zones the older you are means the more wisdom
you have and the smarter you are, so if we treat our older generation with that respect instead of
throwing them away at a retirement home they would have a happier and longer life, also have a

The Books Of Matthew And 1 Corinthians
Hermeneutical Matthew and 1 Corinthians The books of Matthew and 1 Corinthians are mainly
focused around love and what that is supposed to look like through Christ. Starting with Matthew, it
begins by walking us through the birth of Jesus and all of the events that took place during and
after. It also talks about his baptism and specifically that John the baptist was who performed it.
After everything about Jesusearly life is introduced, it jumps straight into his preaching. Chapter
four of Matthew is where it really begins to talk about Jesus work. Not only does it introduce us
to his preaching styles, but it also quickly introduces Satin who seems to follow Jesus around for
a while attempting to cause problems. Matthew chapter four tells you right off the bat what is
about to take place. The first verse says, Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to
be tempted by the devil. (NIV Matthew 4:1). At this point, Jesus had fasted for forty days and
forty nights, and the first temptation form the devil was food. He says, ...If you are the Son of
God, tell these stones to become bread. (NIV Matthew 4:3). Jesus of course rejects his temptation
and the many more that followed. After these events took place, Jesus leaves to begin his
preaching. In doing so, he also chooses his disciples while walking along the Sea of Galilee. Jesus
took his disciples with him through Galilee and began his preaching there. He healed the sick and
suffering, and also performed

Dispatch Weather
In the aviaiton industry weather is one of the most important subjects. When the weather changes,
there are changes in the conditions of a flight as well. Since weather changes so often, every flight
is different. Changes in weather can happen during flights as well as between them. Both
dispatchers and pilots have to be ready to deal with various changes in weather conditions and
have a plan. Having a good understanding of weather is very important for a dispatcher. Even the

All of these charts and weather reporting data give a dispatcher many ways to view the weather

being able to read the charts and tell what kind of weather will the flight encounter is not enough
to be able to make good decisions on a flight plan. Dispatcher and pilots also have to be aware of
what the different weather conditions have on an airplane and what changes can become of the
given weather. When a dispatcher starts a flight plan any number of possibilities must be planned
for such as engine failures and diversions into alternate airports which must be planned for. If the
weather at the departure airport is below landing minimums an alternate plan of action has to be

A Report On The Communication Phase Essay
During the communication phase, we gathered the following requirements from the clients. The
KPSmart program had to be a program that allowed the clerks to handle daily business in a
straightforward manner. This was to be done by containing business events in a log file that only
the manager could view, and included processing business events and displaying key business
figures. Using these requirements, we modeled our proposed system, and validated it with the
clients. With the requirements validated, we could move onto implementing the system and be
guaranteed that our implementation would meet the requirements as long as we followed our
design documents and the requirements stayed consistent with our original brief. As we had
determined at the early stages of the project, it was unlikely that the requirements would be volatile.
Because of this we felt confident that our design document would assure we followed the
requirements during implementation. To certify this, continuous testing was done throughout
implementation, as well as peer reviews of each others code. This was done through Travis CI
integration with GitHub, which assured that our master branch was always stable, all new features
added to the system conformed. To make sure the requirements were met once the system was
implemented, thorough testing was applied at the end of the implementation phase. At the end of
testing, and the subsequent amendments to the program, we were confident that we had met the

Authority In Max Weber s Three Types Of Authority
Max Weber proposed that there are three distinct types of authority. These are, charismatic authority,
traditional authority, and legal rational authority. All of these authorities are important to
understand. Mostly, because they play huge roles in day to day life. For anything so present in the
world, the general population, should, at bare minimum, make an attempt to understand the forces
around them. Charismatic authorityis often envied when its embodiment is seen in real life. Conley
explains Max Webers point of view that those who possess this type of authority are thought to do
so naturally and with ease (Conley 577). Many spot this type of authority from a mile away,
welcoming it into their lives. Whether this be at work, with a manager who you can help but
admire and respect because of their ability to seem to work hard and lead gracefully, to the fellow
student who leads a group project in a way that makes the team collaborative and causes the project
itself to have a sense of ease to it. Conley points out that charismatic authorityhas its own place in
politics, explaining that there are statistics that show no amount of campaign money will help a
candidate win an election if the electorate just doesn t like him or her (578). Along with the
previous ideas, it is important to know that charismatic authority is the most difficult to maintain or
pass on (578). The reason for this is clear: while charisma can be learned, those who have it
naturally will

Analysis and evaluation
Dominant Economic Characteristics of the Steel Industry Environment
The steel industry worldwide has a huge excess capacity, forcing many companies to operate in
red. An unprecedented number of steel producers have filed for bankruptcy. Among them are
Bethlehem Steel Corporation and LTV, who were the country s third and fourth largest steel
producers respectively. With a lot of world s economies in recession in late nineties, there was a
surge in the import of steel. With unfair subsidies from their governments, foreign steel producers
were dumping steel in the U.S. market at cut rate prices. In 1999, the United States had decided not
to impose any import restrictions.
With 75% capacity utilization, a level too low for many companies, three European companies
decided to merge to form the world s largest steel producer. Two Japanese companies did the same
to form the second largest steel producer. These new mega steelmakers could easily outmuscle
their U.S. competitors. The largest steel producer in the US, USX U.S. Steel group was already at
number 11, with a threat of falling

The Importance Of Writing And Creative Writing
In today s modern world, more and more schools are incorporating electronics in the curriculum, but
these changes are having immeasurable effects on students including the demise of their
handwriting. The art of handwriting has been around since its invention in 4000 BC, and according
to Anne Chemin, Mesopotamia was more than likely the birthplace of handwriting (Chemin). In
recent years, however, handwriting has become more of a chore than a learning utensil to students.
But at what cost? Handwriting is the most beneficial way for everyone to learn and develop their
brains and creative processes. Today we will delve into how handwriting increases brainactivity.
Second, we will examine the educational advancements of handwriting. Finally, we will explore
how handwriting improves creative thoughts.
First, let s start with the brain. When people handwrite, the brain is utilized in numerous areas.
Handwriting is a difficult task that requires a great deal of brain activity. According to Edouard
Gentaz, a professor of developmental psychology at the University of Geneva, to handwrite, the
brain must process the feel of the pencil and paper and the correct movement of the writing utensil
to create complex shapes and letters (Chemin). For example, in an article for Science Direct,
Gabriella Munoz cites a 2012 investigation led by Karin James, a psychologist at Indiana State
University, it was concluded that three different parts of your brain are stimulated when writing.

The Nuclear Family Essay
The Diminishing Nuclear Family
Hadar Mustafa
Jun29, 2015
Introduction More often than not, stable and functional families serve as a prerequisite to a good
society. Hence, the society s support system for families must be flexible because needs and
goals of families vary over time (Loveless, 2007). However, nuclear families face many challenges
because parenting, child rearing, and other economic responsibilities had to be done by two adults
only (Bowden Smith, 2010). In this paper, we look into the development of the nuclear family: its
origin, evolution, and status today. We also look into the most influential factors that led to the
current status of nuclear families. We also look into the recommendations that represent different
values and belief systems that promote the revival of degraded idealization and decline of the
nuclear family.
The Modern Nuclear Family The development of the modern nuclear family is considered as a
truly remarkable element in the history of the human social organization. The modern nuclear
family is composed of a monogamous married couple living with their children, apart from their
relatives. The husband is working outside the home, while the wife is a full time mother and
housewife. So, the mother s role comprises cooking for the family and looking after the kids while
father s role comprises providing for the family and performing as a role model toward the kids.
Unlike the traditional nuclear family, the nuclear

The Positive Impact On Healing After Surgery
In a New York Presbyterian Hospital program, healers such as energy workers or reiki masters
may be present while a patient undergoes mastectomy or other surgical procedures. According to
Dr. Feldman, Patients may be going through very difficult problems, such as accepting the loss of
a breast or the ability to breastfeed. Healers can help patients on the emotional level, which helps on
the physical level. The positive impact on healing after surgery can be potentially huge.
Reiki has also been used effectively in psychological treatment: Shore (2004) followed patients
being treated for mild depression and stress. After six weeks of treatment and for up to a year
afterward, those who had received Reiki showed both immediate and long term improvements in
depression, stress and hopelessness.
There are also contradictory studies and attempts by physicians to discontinue the use of Reiki in
clinical settings. An article in Medical Daily (August 20, 2014) cites a co authored paper by Drs.
Gorski and Novella calling for the end of clinical trials, labeling Reiki pseudoscience and highly
implausible treatment. They contend that these trials are a losing proposition and a waste of
medical budgets.

Essay On Surface Hardness Of Cang
Surface Hardening of Cams for Venture Consulting
Introduction
Dean and Triana s invention is running into trouble when it is used continuously for long
periods of time because the cams are too soft, resulting in wear and misalignment in the
invention. They already have all of the cams, so switching materials is not an option, so we must
find a way to harden the surface of the cams to reduce wear. The cams are made of 1020 steel,
which has a hardness of 111 HB, and only has 0.20% carbon, classifying it as a low carbon steel.
For this reason we recommend that carburization be utilized to increase the carbon composition at
the surface, and thus increase the surface hardness. This occurs because the presence of carbon
interstitially diffused ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Interstitial diffusion is the specific type of diffusion that will be going on. Interstitial diffusion
typically involves one substance with much smaller atoms than the substance it is moving into,
and the small atoms will move in between larger atoms in the lattice structure. We know that the
radius of Carbon is 67 pm or 67*10 12 m and the radius of radius of Iron is 156 pm or 156*10 12
m. Carbon atoms are 89 picometers smaller in radius than Iron atoms. Carbon atoms are
considerably smaller than Iron atoms as they are smaller than half the size of iron atoms. Because
of the small size of carbon, it will enter the iron crystal structure through interstitial diffusion.
The Governing Equation for this diffusion is (C Co)/(Cs Co)=1 erf[ x/(2*(Dt)1/2)] .
This an equation for a non steady state diffusion process that has been derived from Fick s Second
Law which describes how atoms diffuse initially at a non steady state and has been described in:
Diffusion can be used for this problem because of the carburization process that will strengthen the
steel cams. Carburization is a process in which our steel cams will be heat treated in a high carbon
environment. What will be going on during this heat treatment, is the carbon in the atmosphere will
be diffusing into the cams through interstitial diffusion. The heat in the environment facilitates the
diffusion. The carbon diffuses from

Antisemitism And Racism
Throughout global history, there have been large debates pertaining to people that aren t accepted
as the ideal race. These debates are mostly about the ongoing injustices of non Caucasians and the
actions that should be taken to ensure the protection of white Christian values . Whether they are
brown, yellow, or blue, the majority has found horrible ways to prevent minorities from having
equal rights as human beings. I have found that people as high up as government officials have
even promoted these unjust actions. The holocaust is a prime example. Some of the most common
ways they ve robbed minorities of their humanity are through social exclusivity, which the
oppressors have justified through racial differences. Realistically, these types of justifications are
simply filtered down to racism. Not to mention, I ve realized that the Jewish community isn t new to
this form of accepted racism. In fact, they ve experienced such a vast amount of hate that the term
antisemitismwas coined from their oppression. In my opinion, the terms antisemitism and racism
relate through racial thought based essentials such as their supporter s destructive actions toward
people of a different race, their systemic discriminatory nature, and prejudice principles.
Furthermore, I have realized that antisemitism and racism are comparable through their supporters
racially based destructive actions toward those of a different race. In general, there have been a

Religion is sold to the masses daily. In 1925 it was sold to the masses in the form of printed
material by Bruce Barton. In 1960 it was sold to the masses by way of a film entitled Elmer
Gantry. Bruce Barton sold a different idea of Jesus than most people were familiar with. In the
film, Elmer Gantry sold religionwith bravado and arrogance which was not the typical way of
selling religion either. In each work, religion is being sold but Elmer is a more exciting and

Although, Jesus saved people because it was a duty imposed upon him by his father. Elmer
Gantry however, had a different reason for preaching the word of the lord. Elmer found it
convenient to preach about the lord when he knew he could get something in return. He had no
ulterior motive than to use the words in the Bible to his advantage to gain something for him. In
the film, Elmer sees a good thing in Sister Sharon Falconer s evangelical troupe and cons his way
into her tent tabernacle, her graces, and her heart (Weiler, 1960). Elmer used the Bible to get
closer to and ultimately to win over Sister Sharon. Elmer Gantry was an opportunistic character.
He used religion when it could benefit him. Not only was Gantry opportunistic about religion,
but was opportunistic when it came to sex and alcohol as well (Bluestone, 1961). Many people
can relate to a character such as Elmer Gantry. When the opportunity arises for something to go
in his favor, he grabs the opportunity. Many people may feel the same way today. If an
opportunity arises to get something for yourself, you will. Elmer is an ordinary person with
ordinary impulses. He sees Sister Sharon as something he desires and works his way into her
inner circle to be closer to her. An ordinary man would do something similar to be closer to a
woman he finds attractive. Both characters had very different reasons for selling religion, but both
were extremely successful.

Beowulf Christian Or Pagan Essay
Is Beowulf a Christian or Pagan Hero? Throughout the story of Beowulf, the great warrior does
many things for many reasons. The question is, does he do these things as a Christian hero with
god in mind, or does he do it as a Pagan hero, for fame and wealth. In the epic, Beowulf battles
against three noteworthy monsters that had their fights detailed in more than a passing mention
such as the many battles and wars that he fought in. These three monsters are Grendel, Grendel s
mother, who was not named, and the Dragon. Beowulf, when contrasted with these Pagan monsters,

Grendel is described as Like a man but mightier than any man. (55) From this, we can assume
that he has a humanoid shape, walks on two legs, has two arms, a head, and a torso, but is taller,
stronger, and mightier than any normal man. He is not described in the text physically, but by
the traits and qualities that he exhibits. One such quote says that he is bearing God s hatred, (30)
and believed in his own strength, not the strength of God, whose love Grendel could not know.
(10) From these two quotes alone, we can infer that Grendel is definitely not Christian, as he does
not have faith in God s strength or help. From other quotes, we can further prove that he is Pagan
by using examples of several Pagan qualities that Grendel shows. From the quotes So set on
murder, (8) and alone, bloodthirsty, and horrible (9) we can see that he is quite bloodthirsty and
murderous, both of which are more Pagan than Christian qualities. Through this information,
Grendel exhibits the Pagan qualities of not believing in the strength of god, but instead believing in
one s own strength. He also lusts after blood, and lives for himself making him a Pagan

Syntactic And Morphological Skills In Autism
Introduction The focus of the study was on how children with autism develop syntactic and
morphological skills and if they apply alternative ways of learning such as memorization techniques
in order to make up for the lack of normal morphological processing and if they learn grammatical
morphemes in an unusual form. Previous studies have proposed the idea that children with autism
present unusual syntactic and morphological skills; however, there is not sufficient information
available on this topic. Existing studies have yet to indicate how these skills differentiate to
children with developmental delay without autism. Moreover, the question of this research is
important for deciding whether language impairments are merely linked to autism or
developmental delay. Three different hypotheses were presented by the researchers of this study.
The first hypothesis explained that children with autism would obtain lower scores on the tests
measuring morphological and syntactic skills than children without autism and developmental
delay. The second hypothesis was that children with autism would obtain lower scores on the tests
measuring the ability to apply plural... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Even her appointment with the doctor, she was using humour in some form to answer the doctors

of character. Fionas acceptance of her diagnosis is shown through her swift actions and her positive
behaviour such as humour, proves her strength of character. I think that this adds to the proof of her
real courage and strength, which helps to give evidence to her and Grants marriage being able to last
over forty years.
The last item that I believe the director wanted to address was the idea of a sexual relationship
among older adults. In a few parts of the movie, there are intimate encounters between Fiona and
Grant, and Grant and Marian. Many films, for example the Notebook, and others that deal with
people in their 60s and 70s, give off the idea that they are very sweet and sexless. Although it is
somewhat seem as taboo that elderly dont engage in sexual activity, I think that Polley used this as
part of a way to show the true honesty of the relationship. We are not given some cookie cutter
idea of the marriage. Polley used the opportunity of showcasing intimacy among older people, as a
sign that there is a reason why people are together for so long. There arent just meaningful
conversations; there is actual chemistry still there between two people after all those years. There

prevent the family from trying to get any services for the fear of being deported back to

there are several services that are only provided to people who are legal, but others do not

The Suv Automobile Market From 2000-2016
This coursework is going to focus on Chinese SUV automobile market from 2000 2016 as the
SUV segment has been one of the most active consumer markets. In fact, passenger vehicle sales
rose by 19% to 1.7 million units in China in 2016 and sport utility vehicles and multipurpose
vehicles climbed 9.5 percent to 10.8 million units in the January June period, according to the
China Passenger Car Association (Bloomberg News, 2016). More recently, the abolition of one
child policy has brought about increasing demand for more spacious vehicles, which provided a
tailwind for sales of mid sized SUVs (ibid). As Leggett (2016) reports, SUV sales in China
surged by 40% as the segment gained a tremendous share of the overall passenger vehicle market
38.8%. Its popularity can be attributed to SUV s unique features and characteristics which
include: high ground clearance, high centre of gravity, high H point, and boxy body design
(marketsandmarkets.com, 2015); also, SUVs provide a safer environment for occupants and
drivers due to the higher vehicle mass, less absorbed energy and resulting instructions in a crash,
as officially tested (Margaritis et al, 2015). This coursework is divided into three main parts
including demand and supply sides of the Chinese SUV market respectively and Chinese central
government s role in it. Demand Side of Chinese SUV Market Four factors affecting consumers
demand are analysed in this section, including price, income, advertising and marketing, and

Personal Narrative Reflection
My third visit to Mrs. Casanova s class has thus far been my most productive, in terms of
applying something I have learned both from this class and UCF in general. With the end of the
middle of the second nine weeks rapidly approaching so too are classroom summative
assignments. During my visit on the twentieth I was able to both see the test creation process in a
PLC and participate in the creation of some questions. Two of the three teacher I have been able to
spend time with in the classroom, the first being in internship and the second, Mrs. Casanova with
service learning. Both teachers employ direct instruction as their primary means of conveying
information, with Mrs. Casanova using it more than the honors and AP teachers. However, within
the PLC the test questions were being created for all classes, rather than having separate questions
for AP, honors, and regular classes, with the only difference being the written response questions
being more challenging in upper classes. Due to this, content evidence was very important,
especially for the upper classes, as they technically would be getting the same test as a regular.
Beyond this however, the instruction leading up to the test also had to be evaluated as the questions
were made with AP in mind. According to the book, content evidence connects to state standards
and what the students need to know based off this, which should be reflected within the instruction
(pg. 396).
One thing UCF does a great job of is

How To Remove Bears Persuasive Essay
Although, there would be less attacks bears should not be removed because it s their common
territory, people are sensitizing, and it might have been a defensive act. First, bears should not
be removed because it s their common territory and have lived there for most of their lives. In
article 2 it states, Denali National Park and preserve is home to both black bears and grizzly
bears (National Park Service n.p. ). Since, Denali is home to bears that means Yellowstone
National Park and Yosemite National Park is both home to them. If we remove bears we re taking
their home away. The second reason is, bears should not be evacuated because people are
interacting with them which makes bears not be afraid of humans. In article 4 it states,

Indeed, this significant task necessitates the significance of organizational or management
leadership in the financial performance of the minority, women led non profits in comparison to
non profit organizations that are led by males. Even though strategic planning is one of the key
factors involved in organizational leadership, it is also essential to consider other factors such as
the corporate culture, the dynamics of the management group, and the manner in which the
strengths and expertise of management is vital in organizational effectiveness (Schein, 2010).
Therefore, the proposed study investigates the importance of organizational leadership as a vital
factor in resolving the organizations dismal performance, e.g., the management for socio economic
education, and workforce development organizations in Philadelphia may consider conducting
environmental scanning procedures such as SWOT Analysis in order to determine the
opportunities available for maximizing the organizations effectiveness regarding the provision of
service deliverables. The projected results of the study will concentrate on the provision of various

Exegetical Paper On I Corinthians 7
In I Corinthians 7, Paul declares that abandonment by an unbelieving spouse constitutes grounds
for a valid divorce. Paul clearly identifies this as an expansion of what Jesus has said (Matt. 5:31
32, 19:3 9) for he says, I say, not the Lord. As such, we can conclude that Paul considered his
expansion to be consistent with Jesus s teaching on divorce, even if Jesus himself had not
explicitly taught it (or at least it wasn t recorded). What we see in these two texts is a breakdown
of the marriagecovenant; one spouse (or perhaps both) has decided to no longer be in covenant with
the other either by means of their unfaithful sexual behavior or by abandoning the other (including
circumstances such as abuse). What we can understand from this... Show more content on

As such, when this happens, there are grounds for a permissible divorce, as one spouse has utterly
shattered the marriage covenant with their spouse and God. Now, there is an obvious tension here.
Jesus reveals the spirit of the law within the SOM namely, that marriage was sacred, an echo of
God s covenant love, and now we are talking about permissible reasons for divorce. Paul s point
wasn t that we should seek our reason for a permissible divorce. Rather, Paul insists that we must
not be quick to jump at divorce, trying to find a reason or an excuse to get out. Divorce is
permissible in some situations, but it is rarely required. Divorce is a last resort when one spouse
s heart has been so hardened that they refuse to be before God and with and for their spouse as
echo of God s covenant love. But, what I believe Paul is articulating in this passage is that it is also
wrong to demand one to stay in a marriage that is no long a true marriage as one part has broken
the covenant. So much more to say and clarify, but alas I ve already blown passed 150

The Belief Of Quakers And Catholics
There are many different views in the world on how and why we all came to be and by who s
power. This leads to the formation of many unique religions, who each have developed separate
distinguishable views about a personal God or lack thereof. While there may be significant
differences between each religion, they also have many similarities. This is true for Quakers and
Catholics. Although Quakerism and Catholicism share similar beliefs in the historical Jesus ,
Quakers seem more accommodating to today s religious people when considering current uprising
issues, including homosexuality, abortion, and authority of their faith than are Catholics.
Quakerism came into existence as an offshoot of Christianityin the 17th century. The main belief
of Quakers focuses on an equal access to God for all people otherwise known as spirituality
equality. People of this religion believe that no race, gender, class, or other group has any sense
of entitlement to divine revelation over another (Sullivan Julia). In the church setting, Quakers are
very welcoming. In fact, prior to my attendance of a Quaker meeting, I visited their website and
the very first page had these big letters that read, You Are Welcomed Here . I saw this same
welcoming when I attended the meeting at First Friends Meeting in Richmond, IN. Those who
attended greeted me at the door and conversed with me after the meeting. Both conversations,
while brief, made me feel welcomed. Welcoming is a sign of the Quaker belief

John Scopes Trial Analysis
The Scopes Trial, a Dayton, Tennessee legal case involving the teaching of evolution within the
public school system, induced a pivotal point in American history. This world famous trial
represents the ongoing conflict between science and theology, faith and reason, individual freedom
of speech, and overruling opinion of the majority. The preeminent purpose of the case was to
decide not only the fate of an evolutiontheory teacher by the name of John Scopes, but also to
decide if fundamentalists or modernists would rule American culture and education. An object of
profound publicity, the trial was identified as a battle between urban modernism and rural
fundamentalism.

Bryan had disregarded them and explained that he would answer questions only under the
circumstance that he could ask questions as well. Bryan had a lengthy list of inquisitions for
Darrow and supporting evolutionists; essential among these questions, he would demand
explanation about the missing evidence in fossil documentation. According to Bryan, genuine
science cannot be proven true until it is classified by legitimate knowledge, thus supporting his
claim that the theory of evolution cannot be veritable science since it is merely a string of theories
and assumptions. Bryan intended to express this point in his final argument in the trial. More
precariously, he accentuated the missing relations between humans and their supposed arthropod
ancestors, because there are no tangible links between them. Henry Fairfield, President of the
American Museum of Natural History, came to Bryan with so called evidence of horse and human
evolution in 1922. In this confrontation with Bryan, Fairfield explained that evidence for
humanistic development as abundant as that of horse evolution had not yet been discovered, but
the very recent discovery of Tertiary man...constitutes the most convincing answer to Mr. Bryan s
call for more evidence. (Larson). Experienced witnesses requested by Darrow brought this evidence
with them to Dayton.
In the week leading up to the trial, hundreds of people and peddlers lined the streets, selling Bibles,
stuffed monkeys, and pins that read Your Old Man s a Monkey . There were even circus
performers with live chimpanzees to entertain children. Many people thought incorrectly that the
theory of evolution claimed that human beings were descended from monkeys; for this reason, the
newspapers and reporters dubbed the Scopes Trial the Monkey

The True Beauty Of Society In The 21st Century
Every minute there are about 105 deaths and every minute there s 250 babies born. This is the
reality of the beautiful and brutal earth within the 21st century. No matter what changes we make
upon our actions, history would repeat itself. This unfortunate motif is seen through texts such as
The Book Thief and V for Vendetta which displays key contextual ideas and values that is relevant
and relates to the 21st centurytoday. These contextual values consist of totalitarianism, rebellion for
freedom and oppression.
Brutality to some people is rare to their eyes, but when experienced they are scarred for life.
Within The Book Thief , it is evident that totalitarianism has been a continuous event occurring for
the past century and in the present moment as we speak. Its purpose is to convey a message that
words play a significant and powerful role in manipulating individuals into believing that brutality
is the true beauty of nature. This is represented within the novel The Book Thief , set in 1939 the
beginning of World War II, were the Nazi Party was in control in the movement and the changes
made within Germany. The Book Thief has effectively represented the value of beauty through
Hitler s birthday, in which every individual had to gather and appreciate and hail him as their
leader. Every time something was said, all had to say Heil Hitler . The forced tone of the majority
suggests that the government was controlling their people like puppets and that through

Analysis Of Native Son By Richard Wright
In Native Son, Richard Wright shines a light on the harsh reality a young African American
male faces, as a result of the unhealthy stereotypes created by a white dominated society.
Richard Wright was born in 1908, in Natchez, Mississippi. His mother s chronic illness set the
tone emotionally, in his life and writing. His grandmother practiced evangelism. The prayers
daily, up to half a dozen. Although Wright s food was already limited, his grandmother applied
further dietary restrictions. Not only was he malnourished, he was also beaten throughout his
childhood. Wright s grandmother also did not allow him to participate in any form of
entertainment or games. Whether it be a game of baseball or a board game, he was not allowed
to partake in such activities. Wright did not have a proper education because of his constant
moving back and forth from relative to relative. His schooling was broken. However, he did
graduate from ninth grade at the age of sixteen. Violence and hunger were his childhood
memories. Which made him bitter, leading him to join the communist party later in his lifetime.
Wright s majority of significant life events occurred in Mississippi, Chicago, New York and Paris
(Bone 1). In 1927, Wright along with his family moved to Chicago, where he worked several jobs.
During the depression, he was unemployed and placed in the South Sided Boys Club, by a relief
agency, where he created the character, Bigger Thomas . Wright joined the communist party in 1932,

The physical characteristics of participants are presented in table 1. Although there was no

Figure 1 illustrates the significant increase in maximal oxygen uptake when comparing submaximal

of 10% in maximal oxygen consumption measured in mL/Kg/min.

Determining VO2max can be important for not only elite athletes in enhancing performance but
also the general public in maintaining good health and well being.
Consistent with preceding literature (Jones McConnell, 1999; Carter et al., 2000; Basset Boulay,
2000), both men and women showed a significant increase in estimated maximal oxygen uptake on
the treadmill ergometer, with a mean estimated VO2max of 50.5В±9.4 mL/Kg/min compared to
the cycle ergometer averaging a VO2max of 45.5В±9.8 mL/Kg/min. The commonly accepted
reasoning to account for this difference is that the treadmill running engages a greater muscle mass
(the swinging motion of the arms and the stabilization of the core muscles) compared to cycling
which predominately uses leg muscles and therefore leads to a greater demand for oxygen supply
to skeletal muscle tissue resulting in a greater amount of inspired air and a greater maximal oxygen
uptake value (Jones McConnell, 1999; Carter et al., 2000).
In addition to these findings, it was found that men had a significantly higher maximal oxygen
uptake compared to women across both modes, with men recording a mean VO2max of 53.6В±91
mL/Kg/min on the treadmill ergometer and 47.7В±10.7 mL/Kg/min on the cycle ergometer
compared to the average treadmill and cycle ergometer VO2max of 45.2В±7.3 mL/Kg/min and
41.4В±6.2 mL/Kg/min respectively. As hypothesized by

  • 2. Women In The Office The Office is an award winning sitcom about a humorous outtake on modern day office life. (NBC) Each documentary style episode portrays different situations in the workplace. In episode fifteen of season two called Boys and Girls focuses on a common problem in the workplace, gender gaps. Gender and different minority s issues have been a problem in the business industry for many years. Women are treated differently for many reasons such as stereotypes and perceptions. (Modaff, Butler, Dewine, 2012) In the boys and girls episode a women s seminar is being held in the office. First, I will be talking about the behaviors presented in the seminar. The women were circled around a conference room, all calmly listening to Jan, One of the women from corporate, held the seminar. Jan felt like the office needed to have an all women s conference to talk about issues with women and the workplace. The behaviors that were taken place in the seminar were not surprising. The women were joking around and not taking the seminar seriously. Jan... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the positive for having a seminar is stated in the episode. Jan states that they use seminars to help find women who might be a good attribute to the corporate life. When women are given the opportunity to move up in a company is always going to be a positive. Another positive is confidence building. The seminar in The Office episode was not the best example of a women s seminar but they can be very helpful to women. Women are allowed to speak their minds freely and express their feelings and challenges they face in the workplace. Women can also gain trust and better communication in other women the workplace for a better workplace environment. The seminars can really help women learn about themselves and about women in general in the workplace. A negative outcome is women not gaining any insight from the special ... • 3. Biomes In North America Essay North America is home to a wide variety of different biomes, ranging from blistering desert to frozen tundra. This range in climate provides inhabitants of North America with not only options of where to live, but also pride in where they come from and how they were raised. Different states or provinces are known for their weather patterns and their ensuing biomes. Although there has been a lot of talk recently about how humans are shaping their environment, today we hope to show you how the environment we live in has played a pivotal role in shaping who we are and how we live. Biomes in North America are contained within the land of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and countries in Central America. This large area has a broad range of temperature and precipitation which results in nine separate biomes ranging from tropical rainforest, deciduous forest, boreal forest, tundra, temperate forest, grasslands, deserts, and chaparral woodlands. A biome is a specific area of the world that can be classified into a group according to the plants and animals that live in it. What ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The bottom half of the United States is mostly filled with desert, while the top half is filled with both coniferous and deciduous forests and prairie biomes, and the upper portion of North America (enveloping most of Canada) is filled with largely arctic tundra. Such a large continent means that North America is home to many different biomes, and although I try to describe North American biomes based on their significance, the truth is that within each state and/or province, you will find many different biomes. For example in the state of Washington, you have both kinds of forests, the alpine and subalpine biomes, wetlands, sand dunes, grasslands, and even desert. This variety is consistent across most provinces and states, and is partially responsible for the proud nature of North American inhabitants, in relation to their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Containment in Boxes A box without hinges, key, or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid. J. R. R. Tolkien The box is a ubiquitous object, a box of some kind or another can be found in every culture. For the purpose of this essay it will look at the box from a western viewpoint. Given the perimeters of this essay I will confine the discussion of the box to Art Therapy, as it is made, appointed or constructed in the art therapy context; and instead of clinical studies I will be using art as examples. Boxes appear in all cultures and times, their uses range from hiding, to safe keeping; from precious to the mundane, The coffin to the bread box. Boxes have become modern man s ways of organising their office, house, garage, and under the bed secrets. You can shop at stores dedicated entirely to boxes of all shapes and sizes; The Container Store in the USA, is a great example of this, an almost obsessive need the Western modern man has to contain things. Might there be some deeper unmet needs being communicated through this desire to contain the physical things in ones life? True a way of organising, but could it also be a way of finding physical structure and space just by putting on a lid and sliding it into a slot under a bed, or into a closet? The ability to controls one s own chaos without too much work or introspection. Could it be possible that western people find organising and putting things into containers de stressing because it gives the feeling of having ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Development Of Attachment Bonds The development of attachment bonds to other biological figures plays an important role in emotional development. Throughout life, an individual will form several relationships, some of which will be sincere and intimate while others will be superficial. However, collectively these relationships provide the foundation of our communities, families, and friendships and become essential to our survival as a species. A secure attachment bond can be classified as the interactive emotional relationship between a caregiver and infantinvolving the emotional responses of the caregiver to the infant s cues (Bowlby, 1969). These emotional responses can be expressed in a variety of forms including gestures, sounds, or even movements. Thus, this interactive emotional relationship between the caregiver and infant brings the two closer together creating an environment that allows the infant to feel safe and secure, further developing their ability to communicate and interact with others (Bowlby, 1969). So, in talking about attachment bonds, how are attachments developed in the first place? Starting from birth, infants are essentially unattached emotionally to any significant figure and show no social discriminatory responses to anyone specific. As the baby grows and develops, they will enter the second phase in which they can distinguish between familiar and unfamiliar faces, voices, and smells. At this point, they are not completely attached to any one individual, despite their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. During the late 14th century until about the 16th century,... During the late 14th century until about the 16th century, Italy and other European countries underwent a time of rebirth of the Ancient Greek and Roman classics. This era was known as the Renaissance. The citizens of Europe were surrounded by advancements in technology, music, and culture. However, one of the most prevalent changes that is still in affect today is the newly founded techniques in the arts. Artists began to think outside of the box, and they made some of the best paintings of their time. They used different methods than artists from previous centuries had, including classicism, secularism, humanism, and individualism. One of the greatest artists of all time, Michaelangelo, is most famous for his Italian Renaissancework.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Perspective was important during the Italian Renaissance because it made artworks look more real and three dimensional. Perspective was a technique in which an artist would use lines to establish a foreground, middleground, and a background. In centuries past, many of the artists works would look flat because they didn t use perspective. In the PietГЎ Mary looks farther away from the audience than Jesus body does. At the same time, Jesus head takes a spot in the middleground of the artwork. He is able to depict a Jesus foot to look like it is on top of or mixing with the dress that Mary is wearing. This was important because in the past, many works of arts backgrounds would all mix together to create a flat painting. In his sculpture, Michaelangelo uses perspective to give a more realistic feeling to the artwork. One of the most prominent developments in Michaelangelo s sculpture is his use of realism and expression. In his sculpture, realism is shown through the creases of Mary s dress and veil and the ways that the body s of the two subjects were molded. They were more 3 D and didn t look flat; they showed more dimension than sculptures in the past had. At the same time, Michaelangelo also used expression in both of the subjects. • 8. Research Paper On Quitting A Job Quitting A Job A job to many people might be a new opportunity to improve their financial status, yet, to others like myself it can be a tortuous experience one may have not been ready for. Long shifts, low pay, co workers, bosses, and stress are the biggest reasons why many people believe they want to quit their job. Although, quitting a job is never easy for anyone even for those who dislike it. To some the process of resigning can be extremely difficult to plan and carry out. Through Personal experience I have found a way to resign accordingly, here are steps to do in order to quit a job. First step to quitting is having a plan. Before deciding whether to quit or not, be sure that this decision is the right for you. Think about the advantages and disadvantages the job you have now offers you. For Example, if income was the problem. be prepared to find a job with higher pay. Apply for jobs beforehand and ask questions regarding problems from your current job. Strive to find jobs with fields that interest you. There are four things to consider about when applying for jobs: salary, benefits, environment, and schedule. Once the job search has ended and a new job is found, work at the new job with vacation hours or on your free time to have a sense of what you are about to bestow upon. Inform the new employer of the situation you are currently facing and ask if they can provide flexible hours during the resigning process. After you are sure you want the new job, then comes the ... • 9. Reflection Of Jesus And The Perfect Life In Nursing As I began to enfold the many great words in this book I began with chapter one. The first key point I came across was learning how Jesus is our model. The book described how Jesus was not just a spirit guiding us through our lives all though he could have been. Jesus walked this earth and lived out a humanlife. Jesusshowed us how to live the perfect life, and I believe this is a major aspect to carry over to the nursing field. Being a Christian nurse inspires us to be the best version of ourselves. As we reflect on the way Jesus lived we should do everything possible to live out a life like him. Jesus lived the perfect life and as Christian nurses we should strive to be like him. The next thing that stood out to me in chapter one was the closing prayer. It states how Jesus gave up heaven to come down here and save us humans. God and Jesus really both gave the ultimate sacrifice. They both gave up so much to help us humans. To relate this to the nursing field is very simple. God and Jesus gave up everything, so I think it our duty as nurses to help and give back. They sacrificed so much, so being a Christian nurse entails us to sacrifice, give back, and help others just like God and Jesus did for us. As I ponder on the questions at the end of chapter I see how much Jesus really did for us. We learned how to live the perfect life from Jesus. I see how much pain and suffering God and Jesus went through to save us as humans. These questions make me realize that being a giver ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Benefits Of Living In A Shared House In College Living in a shared house while you are in college is for sure your life experience. Either you have great, good or not that good experience, there is a high possibility that what you experience in a shared house remain in your memories for the rest of your life. One of the reasons might be the fact that you have to live with people that probably you had never seen before. Moreover, those people can be from different parts of the country. But whatever the reason, anyone who study far from his or her hometown has a strong impact on his or her life, where very positive o very negative. When a person move to another city because of college, positively influenced by the change. First of all because it is a great opportunity to expand someone s friendship, for example if the person move to a house where there are ten other students, which are usually from different towns or cities, it is a chance to have ten more friends. At the same time, it allows to know more about those owns, because despite the fact that they are in the same country and even in the same region, there are slight cultural differences such as different names for the same fruit for example. On the other hand, people s experience living in a shared house may not be the best, especially for those ones who had never been left home. For them, it might be really difficult because usually they are not used to do housework, and as they are on they are on they own, they might experience some frustration. For example, a ... • 11. Andersonville Prison Research Paper Andersonville Prison epitomized the ultimate crime against humanity. The atrocities that transpired in this confederate prison sparked reaction and outrage at the conclusion of the Civil War. During the American Civil War, a prisoner of war was a person who was captured and imprisoned by the enemy. Both the Union and the Confederates had to deal with such matters of prisoners of war. According to Gabor S. Boritt, both the North and the South each had approximately 30 prison camps that held about 194,000 Union soldiers and about 214,000 Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. (Boritt 1989) Andersonville was a confederate camp that had a reputation of being one of the worst prison camps of the Civil War. Its conditions were unnaturally bad... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prison life in Andersonville was considerably worse than the average prison which is why it is considered the worst of the Civil War prison camps. Other prison camps of the time although were a rough life, had better infrastructure, supplies and cleanliness. For example in Salisbury, North Carolina was one of the first Confederate civil War prison camps. Its first prisoners enjoyed playing baseball in their free time. Although the prison did experience overcrowding like all prison war camps, it still had much better supply flow into its walls. Alton, Illinois Federal prison was one of the first Union prison camps. This camp did experience a lack of supplies and disease but had enough space that prisoners did not have to live in the elements. Early on, within the opening scene, the headmaster addresses the students about the importance of keeping tradition, within the school and their personal lives. Due to the ways tradition has been ingrained into their lives, the group of boys is reluctant to explore new grounds. Charlie stands obediently, listening to the teachers, Neil continues his monotonous life, and Knox admires Chris Noel from afar. Due to current societal norms, Charlie is forbidden from even considering to disobey a teacher, Neil is tied to his life by a stern father, and Knox cannot make his move on Chris while she has a boyfriend. However, after meeting, Mr. Keating the boys soon learn to move on from societal constraints that bound them to their misery. He actively encourages the boys to individualize themselves, they shouldn t adhere to tradition if it makes them miserable. Because of his advice, the boys choose to pursue their dreams, Charlie begins to rebel by writing an article that asks why girls can t go to Welton, which defies the tradition of the school. Neil pursues acting and lands the leading role in the production of A Midsummer Night s Dream, to the dismay of his father, and Knox goes after Chris. All these acts of defiance were in pursuit of their happiness and catalyzed by their teacher. Many audience members will find these youthful acts of defiance reminiscent of their own youth, the classic rebellious teenage years. Since the audience has also acted similarly to these youths, they project themselves into our protagonists as they reject tradition. Blue Zones Blue Zones is an anthropological concept that describes the characteristic lifestyles and the environments of the world s longest lived people. They are the places in the world where people live longer and healthier than anywhere else on earth. The four blue zones he talked about were the Italian island of sardinia; Okinawa, Japan; Loma Linda, California; and Costa Rica s isolated Nicoya Peninsula. One of the common factors all these places had were the eating styles. All of them had a plant based diet. They all also lived in tribes whom were basically considered family just in case something would have happened to them or their family, these tribe members would be the backup plan and are the people who take care of them. So there social engagement levels were all high due to these tribe member always being with them and being with one another. Chapter four of Matthew is where it really begins to talk about Jesus work. Matthew chapter four tells you right off the bat what is about to take place. The first verse says, Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. (NIV Matthew 4:1). At this point, Jesus had fasted for forty days and forty nights, and the first temptation form the devil was food. He says, ...If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread. The KPSmart program had to be a program that allowed the clerks to handle daily business in a straightforward manner. This was to be done by containing business events in a log file that only the manager could view, and included processing business events and displaying key business figures. Using these requirements, we modeled our proposed system, and validated it with the clients. With the requirements validated, we could move onto implementing the system and be guaranteed that our implementation would meet the requirements as long as we followed our design documents and the requirements stayed consistent with our original brief. As we had determined at the early stages of the project, it was unlikely that the requirements would be volatile. Because of this we felt confident that our design document would assure we followed the requirements during implementation. To certify this, continuous testing was done throughout implementation, as well as peer reviews of each others code. This was done through Travis CI integration with GitHub, which assured that our master branch was always stable, all new features added to the system conformed. To make sure the requirements were met once the system was implemented, thorough testing was applied at the end of the implementation phase. • 21. Authority In Max Weber s Three Types Of Authority Max Weber proposed that there are three distinct types of authority. These are, charismatic authority, traditional authority, and legal rational authority. All of these authorities are important to understand. Mostly, because they play huge roles in day to day life. For anything so present in the world, the general population, should, at bare minimum, make an attempt to understand the forces around them. Charismatic authorityis often envied when its embodiment is seen in real life. Conley explains Max Webers point of view that those who possess this type of authority are thought to do so naturally and with ease (Conley 577). Many spot this type of authority from a mile away, welcoming it into their lives. Whether this be at work, with a manager who you can help but admire and respect because of their ability to seem to work hard and lead gracefully, to the fellow student who leads a group project in a way that makes the team collaborative and causes the project itself to have a sense of ease to it. Conley points out that charismatic authorityhas its own place in politics, explaining that there are statistics that show no amount of campaign money will help a candidate win an election if the electorate just doesn t like him or her (578). Along with the previous ideas, it is important to know that charismatic authority is the most difficult to maintain or pass on (578). However, nuclear families face many challenges because parenting, child rearing, and other economic responsibilities had to be done by two adults only (Bowden Smith, 2010). In this paper, we look into the development of the nuclear family: its origin, evolution, and status today. Essay On Surface Hardness Of Cang Surface Hardening of Cams for Venture Consulting Introduction Dean and Triana s invention is running into trouble when it is used continuously for long periods of time because the cams are too soft, resulting in wear and misalignment in the invention. They already have all of the cams, so switching materials is not an option, so we must find a way to harden the surface of the cams to reduce wear. The cams are made of 1020 steel, which has a hardness of 111 HB, and only has 0.20% carbon, classifying it as a low carbon steel. For this reason we recommend that carburization be utilized to increase the carbon composition at the surface, and thus increase the surface hardness. This occurs because the presence of carbon interstitially diffused ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Interstitial diffusion is the specific type of diffusion that will be going on. Interstitial diffusion typically involves one substance with much smaller atoms than the substance it is moving into, and the small atoms will move in between larger atoms in the lattice structure. We know that the radius of Carbon is 67 pm or 67*10 12 m and the radius of radius of Iron is 156 pm or 156*10 12 m. Carbon atoms are 89 picometers smaller in radius than Iron atoms. Carbon atoms are considerably smaller than Iron atoms as they are smaller than half the size of iron atoms. Because of the small size of carbon, it will enter the iron crystal structure through interstitial diffusion. The Governing Equation for this diffusion is (C Co)/(Cs Co)=1 erf[ x/(2*(Dt)1/2)] . • 32. Antisemitism And Racism Throughout global history, there have been large debates pertaining to people that aren t accepted as the ideal race. These debates are mostly about the ongoing injustices of non Caucasians and the actions that should be taken to ensure the protection of white Christian values . Whether they are brown, yellow, or blue, the majority has found horrible ways to prevent minorities from having equal rights as human beings. I have found that people as high up as government officials have even promoted these unjust actions. The holocaust is a prime example. Some of the most common ways they ve robbed minorities of their humanity are through social exclusivity, which the oppressors have justified through racial differences. Realistically, these types of justifications are simply filtered down to racism. Not to mention, I ve realized that the Jewish community isn t new to this form of accepted racism. • 33. Essay about Compare and Contrast Religion in Two Works Religion is sold to the masses daily. In 1925 it was sold to the masses in the form of printed material by Bruce Barton. In 1960 it was sold to the masses by way of a film entitled Elmer Gantry. Bruce Barton sold a different idea of Jesus than most people were familiar with. In the film, Elmer Gantry sold religionwith bravado and arrogance which was not the typical way of selling religion either. In each work, religion is being sold but Elmer is a more exciting and relatable character than Bruce Barton s Jesus. Elmer Gantry however, had a different reason for preaching the word of the lord. Elmer found it convenient to preach about the lord when he knew he could get something in return. He had no ulterior motive than to use the words in the Bible to his advantage to gain something for him. In the film, Elmer sees a good thing in Sister Sharon Falconer s evangelical troupe and cons his way into her tent tabernacle, her graces, and her heart (Weiler, 1960). Elmer used the Bible to get closer to and ultimately to win over Sister Sharon. Elmer Gantry was an opportunistic character. He used religion when it could benefit him. Not only was Gantry opportunistic about religion, but was opportunistic when it came to sex and alcohol as well (Bluestone, 1961). Many people can relate to a character such as Elmer Gantry. When the opportunity arises for something to go in his favor, he grabs the opportunity. Many people may feel the same way today. If an opportunity arises to get something for yourself, you will. Elmer is an ordinary person with ordinary impulses. He sees Sister Sharon as something he desires and works his way into her inner circle to be closer to her. An ordinary man would do something similar to be closer to a woman he finds attractive. Both characters had very different reasons for selling religion, but both were extremely successful. ... • 34. Beowulf Christian Or Pagan Essay Is Beowulf a Christian or Pagan Hero? Throughout the story of Beowulf, the great warrior does many things for many reasons. The question is, does he do these things as a Christian hero with god in mind, or does he do it as a Pagan hero, for fame and wealth. In the epic, Beowulf battles against three noteworthy monsters that had their fights detailed in more than a passing mention such as the many battles and wars that he fought in. These three monsters are Grendel, Grendel s mother, who was not named, and the Dragon. Beowulf, when contrasted with these Pagan monsters, appears Christian. He is not described in the text physically, but by the traits and qualities that he exhibits. One such quote says that he is bearing God s hatred, (30) and believed in his own strength, not the strength of God, whose love Grendel could not know. (10) From these two quotes alone, we can infer that Grendel is definitely not Christian, as he does not have faith in God s strength or help. From other quotes, we can further prove that he is Pagan by using examples of several Pagan qualities that Grendel shows. From the quotes So set on murder, (8) and alone, bloodthirsty, and horrible (9) we can see that he is quite bloodthirsty and murderous, both of which are more Pagan than Christian qualities. • 36. Syntactic And Morphological Skills In Autism Introduction The focus of the study was on how children with autism develop syntactic and morphological skills and if they apply alternative ways of learning such as memorization techniques in order to make up for the lack of normal morphological processing and if they learn grammatical morphemes in an unusual form. Previous studies have proposed the idea that children with autism present unusual syntactic and morphological skills; however, there is not sufficient information available on this topic. Existing studies have yet to indicate how these skills differentiate to children with developmental delay without autism. Moreover, the question of this research is important for deciding whether language impairments are merely linked to autism or developmental delay. Three different hypotheses were presented by the researchers of this study. The first hypothesis explained that children with autism would obtain lower scores on the tests measuring morphological and syntactic skills than children without autism and developmental delay. I think that this adds to the proof of her real courage and strength, which helps to give evidence to her and Grants marriage being able to last over forty years. The last item that I believe the director wanted to address was the idea of a sexual relationship among older adults. In a few parts of the movie, there are intimate encounters between Fiona and Grant, and Grant and Marian. Many films, for example the Notebook, and others that deal with people in their 60s and 70s, give off the idea that they are very sweet and sexless. Although it is somewhat seem as taboo that elderly dont engage in sexual activity, I think that Polley used this as part of a way to show the true honesty of the relationship. We are not given some cookie cutter idea of the marriage. Polley used the opportunity of showcasing intimacy among older people, as a sign that there is a reason why people are together for so long. During my visit on the twentieth I was able to both see the test creation process in a PLC and participate in the creation of some questions. However, within the PLC the test questions were being created for all classes, rather than having separate questions for AP, honors, and regular classes, with the only difference being the written response questions being more challenging in upper classes. Due to this, content evidence was very important, especially for the upper classes, as they technically would be getting the same test as a regular. Beyond this however, the instruction leading up to the test also had to be evaluated as the questions were made with AP in mind. Paul clearly identifies this as an expansion of what Jesus has said (Matt. 5:31 32, 19:3 9) for he says, I say, not the Lord. As such, we can conclude that Paul considered his expansion to be consistent with Jesus s teaching on divorce, even if Jesus himself had not explicitly taught it (or at least it wasn t recorded). What we see in these two texts is a breakdown of the marriagecovenant; one spouse (or perhaps both) has decided to no longer be in covenant with the other either by means of their unfaithful sexual behavior or by abandoning the other (including circumstances such as abuse). Divorce is a last resort when one spouse s heart has been so hardened that they refuse to be before God and with and for their spouse as echo of God s covenant love. This leads to the formation of many unique religions, who each have developed separate distinguishable views about a personal God or lack thereof. Although Quakerism and Catholicism share similar beliefs in the historical Jesus , Quakers seem more accommodating to today s religious people when considering current uprising issues, including homosexuality, abortion, and authority of their faith than are Catholics. Quakerism came into existence as an offshoot of Christianityin the 17th century. The main belief of Quakers focuses on an equal access to God for all people otherwise known as spirituality equality. People of this religion believe that no race, gender, class, or other group has any sense of entitlement to divine revelation over another (Sullivan Julia). Bryan intended to express this point in his final argument in the trial. In this confrontation with Bryan, Fairfield explained that evidence for humanistic development as abundant as that of horse evolution had not yet been discovered, but the very recent discovery of Tertiary man...constitutes the most convincing answer to Mr. Bryan s call for more evidence. (Larson). Experienced witnesses requested by Darrow brought this evidence with them to Dayton. In the week leading up to the trial, hundreds of people and peddlers lined the streets, selling Bibles, stuffed monkeys, and pins that read Your Old Man s a Monkey . There were even circus performers with live chimpanzees to entertain children. Many people thought incorrectly that the theory of evolution claimed that human beings were descended from monkeys; for this reason, the newspapers and reporters dubbed the Scopes Trial the Monkey ... • 53. The True Beauty Of Society In The 21st Century Every minute there are about 105 deaths and every minute there s 250 babies born. This is the reality of the beautiful and brutal earth within the 21st century. No matter what changes we make upon our actions, history would repeat itself. This unfortunate motif is seen through texts such as The Book Thief and V for Vendetta which displays key contextual ideas and values that is relevant and relates to the 21st centurytoday. These contextual values consist of totalitarianism, rebellion for freedom and oppression. Brutality to some people is rare to their eyes, but when experienced they are scarred for life. Within The Book Thief , it is evident that totalitarianism has been a continuous event occurring for the past century and in the present moment as we speak. Its purpose is to convey a message that words play a significant and powerful role in manipulating individuals into believing that brutality is the true beauty of nature. This is represented within the novel The Book Thief , set in 1939 the beginning of World War II, were the Nazi Party was in control in the movement and the changes made within Germany. The Book Thief has effectively represented the value of beauty through Hitler s birthday, in which every individual had to gather and appreciate and hail him as their leader. Every time something was said, all had to say Heil Hitler . The forced tone of the majority suggests that the government was controlling their people like puppets and that through ... • 54. Analysis Of Native Son By Richard Wright In Native Son, Richard Wright shines a light on the harsh reality a young African American male faces, as a result of the unhealthy stereotypes created by a white dominated society. Richard Wright was born in 1908, in Natchez, Mississippi. His mother s chronic illness set the tone emotionally, in his life and writing. His grandmother practiced evangelism. The prayers daily, up to half a dozen. Although Wright s food was already limited, his grandmother applied further dietary restrictions. Not only was he malnourished, he was also beaten throughout his childhood. Wright s grandmother also did not allow him to participate in any form of entertainment or games. Whether it be a game of baseball or a board game, he was not allowed to partake in such activities. Wright did not have a proper education because of his constant moving back and forth from relative to relative. His schooling was broken. However, he did graduate from ninth grade at the age of sixteen. Violence and hunger were his childhood memories. Which made him bitter, leading him to join the communist party later in his lifetime. Wright s majority of significant life events occurred in Mississippi, Chicago, New York and Paris (Bone 1). In 1927, Wright along with his family moved to Chicago, where he worked several jobs. During the depression, he was unemployed and placed in the South Sided Boys Club, by a relief agency, where he created the character, Bigger Thomas . Wright joined the communist party in 1932, ... • 55. The physical characteristics of participants are presented... The physical characteristics of participants are presented in table 1. Although there was no significant difference between the age of men and women in the study, the heaight and body mass of the men were significantly greater than women P 0.05. Figure 1 illustrates the significant increase in maximal oxygen uptake when comparing submaximal treadmill ergometer and cycle ergometer tests (P 0,05). Both men and women showed an increase of 10% in maximal oxygen consumption measured in mL/Kg/min. Figure 2 demonstrates the increase in maximal oxygen uptake in men when compared to women as well the increased estimated VO2max observed during the treadmill ergometer compared to the cycle ergometer across gender, both in which were deemed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Determining VO2max can be important for not only elite athletes in enhancing performance but also the general public in maintaining good health and well being. Consistent with preceding literature (Jones McConnell, 1999; Carter et al., 2000; Basset Boulay, 2000), both men and women showed a significant increase in estimated maximal oxygen uptake on the treadmill ergometer, with a mean estimated VO2max of 50.5В±9.4 mL/Kg/min compared to the cycle ergometer averaging a VO2max of 45.5В±9.8 mL/Kg/min. The commonly accepted reasoning to account for this difference is that the treadmill running engages a greater muscle mass (the swinging motion of the arms and the stabilization of the core muscles) compared to cycling which predominately uses leg muscles and therefore leads to a greater demand for oxygen supply to skeletal muscle tissue resulting in a greater amount of inspired air and a greater maximal oxygen uptake value (Jones McConnell, 1999; Carter et al., 2000). In addition to these findings, it was found that men had a significantly higher maximal oxygen uptake compared to women across both modes, with men recording a mean VO2max of 53.6В±91 mL/Kg/min on the treadmill ergometer and 47.7В±10.7 mL/Kg/min on the cycle ergometer compared to the average treadmill and cycle ergometer VO2max of 45.2В±7.3 mL/Kg/min and 41.4В±6.2 mL/Kg/min respectively.
