Glasspro, Inc. Outline The Differences
Life is riddled with choices: paper or plastic, chocolate or vanilla, Android or iOS. When it comes to
windshield replacement, however, deciding between OEM and aftermarket glass can be a bit more
involved. So which option is right for you? Below, the Cincinnati, OH auto glass experts at GlassPro,
Inc. outline the differences.
OEM
An OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) windshield is often fabricated by the original windshield
manufacturer and will be nearly identical to the one that rolled off the assembly line. Though, because
car manufacturers often switch glass companies mid run, there is a chance that your OEM windshield
will be made by a different glass company.
Regardless, an OEM windshield will be manufactured according to specific

Advantages Of Big Bang Disruption
In the era where written communication was predominantly done by postal mail, email services
offered a novel method that was not just quicker but also highly convenient. The huge and expensive
mainframes were replaced by the smaller easy to use mini computers. Pocket calculators replaced the
standard calculator while offering the same computing performance and portability. These were cases
where the disruptive innovation creates a new market and value network that dislocates the existing
market and dislodges the earlier technology.
Big Bang Disruption (BBD) is a disruptive technological innovation that enters the market with a bang
and faces dramatic market adoption often causing collateral damage to sitting business. The

The company combined the physical landlord model (with the subscription) and all you can eat model
to allow customers to rent all the DVDs they could in a month for a flat upfront fee. Customers were
allowed to keep the DVDs for an unlimited period of time and were not subject to the late fees. In
return, customers agreed to pay a monthly subscription fee that was recurring in nature.
Blockbuster versus Netflix: While both Blockbuster and Netflix bought movie licenses from studios,
the key area of difference is the approach towards the target audience. Namely:
While for Blockbuster, the customers had to come to the store and rent the DVDs, in the case of
Netflix, the customer orders the DVD from the convenience of their homes, which would be delivered
by US Post
Blockbuster levied a late charge for the DVDs returned post the rental period, which was one of their
major sources of revenue. Netflix on the other hand imposed no such late fees, which, although an
immense liability, was also an important reason for their immediate popularity
The only seemingly downside of Netflix was the waiting period for the users to receive the

Analysis Of The Movie Birth Of A Nation
Give a description of a scene that incorporates a more modern language of filmmaking via shots,
lighting, editing. Birth of a Nation has a lot of scenes the movie itself is 3 hours long however in one
specific scene D.W. Griffith manages to incorporate many modern filmmaking techniques. The scene
in which Flora goes to retrieve water and is abruptly met by Gus incorporates many modern
techniques. In this scene we see the use of close up shots to focus on character reactions from both
Gus and Flora. We also see the use of close ups to focus on objects other characters are looking at
such as Flora looking at a squirrel in a tree. Finally, we also see the use of natural lighting in this scene
as the entirety of the scene is shot outside. This an instance of a form of cinematic realism that is
confused for the reality of reconstruction politics after the death of Lincoln. What stereotypes are
perpetrated in this film? The film consistently perpetuates stereotypes that the African American
community are less than human and more like animals. This is done through how they act, the film
itself depicts them as being uncivilized. Within the film there are scenes where many African
American characters have taken political office and are shown taking their shoes off and being lazy,
and eating food openly during political hearings. The film also depicts most African Americans as
being evil or criminals. The film itself shows Gus attempting to harm Flora due to her refusing

A Doorway From Moutiers Saint Jean
A Doorway from Moutiers Saint Jean For certain periods in history, the only means of record available
is in the objects the society of that time left behind. In the Central Middle Ages, material objects were
not used so much for record, as documentation had already became required for governing and
ecclesiastical institutions, but rather as teachers for the majority population that could not read.
Material objects also taught those who could read, serving as grandiose reminders that instilled its
lessons on the viewer through biblical scenes, and representation of important figures and
characteristics of land. This is true of the doorway from Moutiers Saint Jean, a monastery in
Burgundy, France whose monks were literate, but would have looked at the doorway as a confirmation
of their livelihood, reinstating their faith. Moutiers Saint Jean was founded by a hermit called John of
Réôme in the fifth century in dedication to the Virgin Mary. His sanctity drew others to him and
enabled him to found a religious community dedicated to the Virgin. Such monasteries grew up in
Burgundy and elsewhere from the cells of disciples clustered around the hermitage of a holy person. 1
It was the monasteries dedication to the Virgin that inspired the biblical scene on the arch of the
doorway to be the Coronation of the Virgin. In the scene, Christ and Mary are enthroned in the
Kingdom of Heaven. This scene was popular because rich imagery of the story was used ...in order to

The Success Of The Franchise Industry
The franchise industry is an industry that is highly visible to the public eye; mainly because of such
names as McDonald s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Popeye s, Burger King, Starbucks and the like. They
all fulfill a service which the general public supposedly needs. From a simple fried chicken leg, to a
strong cup of specialized coffee, or even a set of bed linens, they all serve a general purpose. Each one
supplies the public with goods and services at a cheaper price.
The people or individuals who purchase a franchise also have to follow certain rules and regulations
which are presented to them in the form of a binding contract.
The accounting field also plays a major part in such transactions and the everyday life of a franchise.
Everyone needs to be informed of how much income a franchise is taking in as well as what the
myriad of expenses are. These expenses include how much they have to pay out in wages, inventory
costs, insurance, rent, repair and upkeep, along with all the matters concerning taxation and billing.
Sometimes things work out properly and everything is kept strictly honest while at other times illegal
situations arise.
My paper will be a brief explanation regarding how crime is and is not committed within a franchise.
First will be a brief discussion that defines a franchise and the obligations of both the franchisee and
franchiser. I will then discuss three recent accounting crimes, look at how the people in the industry
feel about such matters, and

A Career In Athletic Training
I m writing to tell you that I have finally made up my mind and chosen Athletic Training as my major
here at UND. I realize this probably sounds crazy, but be assured in the fact that I ve done my
homework and this career looks promising for me. Before you freak out, let me tell you about
everything I ve learned about this profession so far. Athletic Trainers by definition specialize in the
diagnosing and treating of muscle and bone injuries and illnesses. However, these individuals are
responsible for much more behind the scenes work than people realize. The profession can be broken

all of the precautions Athletic trainers put into the environment,

The Importance Of Health Care In California
Healthcare and access to basic human needs are an essential part of living that everyone should be
able to have. However, in San Bernardino County, only 79.2% of the people have health insurance.
This is lower than the California statewide average which is almost 90%. In San Bernardino, there are
54 hospitals throughout the county. (San Bernardino County CA Hospitals, 2017). Yet there are still
delays in health care. About 16.4% reported a delay in healthcare, because of lack of insurance or no
access to a healthcare setting.
When it comes to our welfare systems, San Bernardino County has increased poverty levels compared
to the state of California. The poverty level was mentioned above. California has the highest amount

Not too long after this, in 1822, the mission was abandoned due to the fact that California had become
a Mexican territory. The mission was now known as a Rancho which would later be owned by the
Lugo Brothers who eventually established it as part of the Spanish Trail trading post. When California
became a part of the United States in 1848, the Lugo brothers sold the land to Mormon settlers; they
transformed it into a temperance town in which no gambling or drinking was allowed, a big contrast to
what it had been in the past. In 1854, the area was officially established as a city with a population of
1,200. What largely impacted the city was the railroads that were built in the late 1800s and the gold
found, opening up travel opportunities, increasing numbers in population, and progressing commerce
(City of San Bernardino, 2017d).
After filing for bankruptcy in August 2012, the city has since been working on improving the state of
the community. When the city first filed for bankruptcy it reported a deficit of over $45 million; just
last year, the city s bankruptcy plan was approved. It helped to pave the road for the city s exit from

Why Is Jack Sparrow Unethical
Like Fortunato, Jack Sparrow is egotistical. From the beginning of the movie to the end, Jack Sparrow
showed that he believed he was the best of the best of pirate and deserved whatever he may have
wanted. When the movie starts he docks his boat at Port Royal only to steal one of their ships. He
always perceives himself as Captain Jack Sparrow and says how he is one of the best pirates. When
the people of Port Royal are trying to capture him he tells them Gentlemen! You shall always
remember this as the day that you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow! (Pirates of the Caribbean: The
Curse of the Black Pearl). Jack Sparrow made sure to put the emphasis on the fact that they could not
capture him, because he was just that good . Elizabeth

use violence to affect politics. The Sicarii were a first century Jewish group who murdered enemies

In February 2004 the group killed 150 people in simultaneous attacks in Baghdad and the Shiite holy
city of Karbala during the Ashura festival (Friedland 2015). The JTWJ in 2004 officially became an
affiliate with Al Qaeda and their well known leader Osama Bin Laden. At this point in time the group
adopted the name Al Qaeda in the Land of the Two Rivers (the Tigris and the Euphrates). Also known
as the Al Qaeda in Iraq or AQI. The AQI and Abu Musab al Zarqawi developed a different technique
of warfare that separated them from the Al Qaeda that fought in Afghanistan. This Al Qaeda in Iraq
was absolutely brutal and ultraviolent with their brand of Jihad. Abu Musab al Zarqawi used this type
of Jihad to enforce Sharia law in the State of Iraq. Abu Musab al Zarqawi was killed in 2006 by a
United States airstrike. After the death Abu Musab al Zarqawi in 2006 the organization adopted its

Human Motivation In East Of Eden
In his novel, East of Eden, John Steinbeck presents Cathy Ames with human motivations, despite her
character representing pure evil, to emphasize humanity s potential of evil. When Cathy is first
introduced, the narrator calls her a monster, but in chapter seventeen, the narrator begins to doubt his
claim, pitying her waiting for her pregnancy to be over, living on a farm she did not like, with a man
she did not love (138). By including a statement discussing her unhappiness gives Cathy a human
motivation to escape, although her escape is evil. When Cathy leaves, she shoots Adam because he
attempts to stop her, but she does not aim for his head or heart to kill him, only a shot to the leg, which
is enough to stop him, but not enough to kill him. A fatal shot would have been easy for Cathy,
however, she had no reason to, so she only damaged Adam enough to achieve her goal. Unwanted
pregnancies and unhappy marriages are all situations women attempt to escape, and in some cases, in
extreme ways, like shooting their husbands. Humanizing Cathy connects humanity to evil. ... Show

At the beginning of every chapter, Brian McCall talked a little bit about how the new politicians took
over the position of Texas governor, which is a clever way of the transition. Although he spent 45% of
the time talking about the campaign, a fair number for me, sometimes he spent 60% of the time
explaining how some governors won the election, for example, John Connally, Dolph Briscoe, and
William Clements in his first term. It really helps me to get to know those governors better than just
reading their achievements, and I think that 60% is a large number for the campaign only. His idea of
using the campaign as the transition between two administrations is very smart. I like it and I think he
did really well on it, and I also think that he should shorten that part. The power of the Texas governor
revealed not only what the Texas governors did in their terms, but also their personalities, their views,
and their working styles. And because his purpose was to show their characteristics, he spent a lot of
time talking about their campaign and what they did to attract the support of people and the
legislators. The book gave me a flashback of Texas politics and fantastic development. Thanks to his
personal experience in politics, McCall walked readers through nine terms of Texas governors and
explained how the office of governor run within the broader

David Malouf s Remembering Babylon And William Golding s...
David Malouf s Remembering Babylon and William Golding s The Inheritors both explore and
criticise violent and discriminatory human nature through various techniques. Remembering Babylon
takes place in 19th Century Queensland following a young British man, Gemmy Fairley, who was
thrown overboard a ship and has grown up with aboriginals for sixteen years, and his relationship with
the new settlers. The Inheritors follows a journey of a peaceful Neanderthal tribe who are slowly
facing extinction due to the violent nature of the coexisting humans, kidnapping and murdering. Both
novels have criticised the impacts of human nature, how humans has developed and detached
themselves from nature and been drawn to violence and discrimination. Malouf and Golding employ a
range of literary techniques to express these ideas.
Malouf and Golding s narrative perspectives vary to portray a unique perspective on the issues of
human nature. Malouf writes in third person omniscient with a narrator, however changes the focus to
specific characters throughout each chapter, becoming third person limited. This allows readers to
understand the mind set of the settlers surrounding Gemmy s arrival however for the perspective to
remain unbiased. This helps display issues of human nature in an unprejudiced way as Ned Corcoran,
resident of the settlement Gemmy is brought to, thought that Gemmy was trading on the residents
goodwill (39) rather than having a positive influence on the settlement. This

The British Agricultural Revolution
The British Agricultural Revolution was a time where agricultural production in England increased
due to land productivity and labor. This revolution took place between 1690 and the 1850 s. During
this time, there were many developments emerging from this era. Developments included an increase
in farm size, land claims, land drains, and development of a national market based on minimal
government regulation to name a few. One of the most important innovations was the crop rotations.

In 1701, a seed drill was invented by Jethro Tull that allowed corn to be sown in regular rows. The
seed drill produced less wasteful crops and made laying seeds easier and more efficient. In 1703, The
Rotherham plow was invented in a village in Yorkshire making plows easier to handle and turned the
soil more effectively. Later in 1786, A Scotsman named Andrew Meikle invented a thrashing machine
that was used to separate ears of corn from stalks. The thrashing machine made picking corn ears
faster and more efficient, and required a lot less labor. The first machine made in the 19th century was
the first ever reaping machine invented by Robert Ransome. The only difference between this
invention and the seed drill, was the durability. Robert s reaper was a lot stronger and more efficient.
The last invention related to agriculture was the evolution of steam power. Steam power was applied
to plowing. The power was fixed to long cable connected to the plows that were then pulled across the
farm by a stationary steam engines. Steam power would increase efficiency and productivity unlike
the human hand. A farmer could only cut one furrow at once, while the machine can do multiple

Disadvantages Of Citizen Journalism
Introduction
In the end, the discipline of verification is what separates journalism from entertainment, propaganda,
fiction, or art.... Journalism alone is focused first on getting what happened down right. The
willingness of the journalist to be transparent about what he/she has done is at the heart of establishing
that the journalist is concerned with the truth. (Kovach, Rosenstiel 2001)
As is it a journalist s responsibility, obligation and duty to the public to tell the truth, carrying out
thorough and accurate research is a vital part for construction of news stories. Reporting credible news
will develop public trust.
Without this confidence, journalists would be unable to carry out their jobs justly and democracy will
be compromised.
Why credible research?
Accuracy must be our journalistic grail. (McLellan, 2001)
Why do journalists need to carefully research possible news stories before publishing them? Is it
important to ensure its authenticity and accuracy? The public will consume information provided in
stories. If there are pieces of poorly researched news, it could potentially cause detrimental outcomes
such as losing one s job, embarrassment, a tarnished reputation (not only for the journalist but also for

generation. As the conflict grew it became known around the world that this was a war that could not

Another interesting aspect about this film is that Hal Moore took the leading role in being a father like
figure to all his troops when they went into battle, but also Julie Moore became a leader whenever
there was grieving and sadness upon the wives that had lost their husbands. She was always there to
support the wives and help them through the tough times. The year is 1965 and Lt. Col. Hal Moore is
the leader of the 1st Battalion of the 7th Cavalry. Moore is assigned to lead his men into battle in the
Ia Drang Valley, commonly known as The Valley of Death . This would be the first major battle
between American and North Vietnamese soldiers(a.k.a Vietcong). Four hundred of Moore s men were
drawn into an ambush, trapped for many days, and bombastically outnumbered by the Vietcong.
Instead of giving up and retreating, they stayed and fought to the end. Moore s commanding officer
Sgt. Major Plumer(played by Sam Elliot) is a cocky drill sergeant who is by Moore s side most of the
battle. Plumer is remembered for his audacious and insane one liners through out the movie and his un

Lord Of The Flies Allegory Examples
Allegorical Meanings of LOTF.
Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, is basically represented by three big allegories as a whole;
Political, Historical, and Religious. The allegorical meaning for the novel differs from each category
of allegory. For political, later in the book, there are two different clashing tribes representing a
different type of government. The Historical allegory compares the main characters such as Simon,
Piggy, or Ralph to famous or infamous historical people. Lastly, the meaning of the religious allegory
is that the island is the Garden of Eden and the boys are Adam and Eve. For each category of the three
different types of allegories, the meaning of the book, Lord of The Flies, as a whole differs. The

The first thing Ralph does when he gets to the island is take off his clothes and take a bath in the
lagoon. Ralph inspected the whole thirty yards carefully and then plunged in. The water was warmer
than his blood and he might have been swimming in a huge bath. (Golding, 12) This gesture relates to
the act of Baptism and the innocence of Adam and Eve. Later in the book, the boys become more
savage than civilised trying to find the beast, or snake thing when it is really just hiding inside of
them. This is just like how Adam and Eve were fooled by the satan that disguised himself as a serpent.
The Devil figure, or the Satan is another religious allegory hidden in Lord of The Flies. It is actually
hidden right in the title. Lord of the Flies in hebrew means Beelzebub which is another name for Satan
or Devil. This name is from the Canaanite Baal which means Lord and so he is known for lord of the
flies. To expand even more, the boys on the island are described with fly like behaviors and actions.

in LOTF. Simon is the Christ figure because of his good morals, bravery, and

Distracted Driving Is A Big Problem
According to Ashley Gaddis from Counterpoint, From 1999 to 2008, nearly fifty two thousand people
were killed in car crashes caused by distracted drivers (n.pag.). Distracted driving started when
technology became mobile and handheld. Many people have died and gotten injured from people not
paying attention to the road. This problem has been growing as technology advances. Distracted
driving is a big problem and there needs to be stronger penalties and laws in place to deter people
from distracted driving. Distracted driving has been a problem for a long time. It has grown in the
recent years because technology has become mobile and smaller. Ashley Gaddis from Counterpoint
says, A 2013 poll conducted by AT T found that half of commuters admitted to texting while driving
she also says, By 2007, one in six fatal car crashes were caused by a distracted driver, resulting in over
5,900 deaths (n.pag.). Distracted driving can be texting while driving or talking on the phone while
you are driving. There are some opposers that think that hands free technology is a good way to avoid
distracted driving. Geoff Tyler states that, Hands free devices that are suitable for use in the car can
make holding a phone conversation as close as technologically possible to holding a conversation with

Bee Outline
Preparation Outline Introduction » Bees have a place in our world that is important beyond our
understanding. The small little insect, that some may swat away at, works tirelessly around us to
pollinate and present the possibility of further human development on earth. » Did you know that bees
pollinate the majority of our fruits and vegetables? Global Research of CA has found that just within
the last five years, 30% of the national bee population has disappeared and nearly a third of all bee
colonies in the U.S. have perished. (Statistic, Global Research Of California) Bees are going extinct at
this high rate due to climate change, pesticides, diseases, and parasites. Honeybees and the other

be left with dead, unfertilized plants that would change the look of our world indefinitely. » Aside
from just beautification, bees also promote biodiversity. It is important that we get our food, but bees

Essay on Harriet Tubman and the Abolitionist Movement
When we think of African American history we often forget about the people before the civil rights
movement. The people who paved the way for future leaders. Martin Luther King Jr, Malcolm X, and
Rosa parks are often who we think of. We forget about individuals that made a significant impact that
led us to the present place we are today. Harriet Tubman s contribute to history was that she was the
conductor of the Underground Railroad, which helped bring slaves to freedom. Harriet Tubman was
an abolitionist and was part of the woman s suffrage move. Harriet Tubman was born as Araminta
Ross in 1820 or 1821, on a plantation in Dorchester County, Buckton, Maryland, and the slave of
Anthony Thompson. She was one of eleven children to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

chain gang one of them left two children. We were always uneasy... I think slavery is the next thing to

name as her mother Harriet. She was sold to James Cook to weave. The weaving often made her
cough and sneeze. She would get severe coughs and fevers. Like many slaves, Harriet was often
whipped. One day she stole a lump of sugar from Miss Susan, in fear of getting whipped she ran away
for four days. However, when she returned home she was whipped severely. She learned a great lesson
from this experience; she should put on layers of clothes so it wouldn t hurt as much when she was
being whipped.
At the age of 13, Harriet became more rebellious; she disobeyed her masters as people watched. One
day, another male slave was getting beat; the overseer wanted to punish him and he wanted Harriet to
help but she refused to. Harriet was hit with a weight, which put a hole in her skull and pushed her
skull against her brain. She described it as it broke my skull and cut a piece of that shawl clean off and
drove it into my head . After the accident she didn t get medical treatment and soon had to return to
the fields. The experience of going back to the field was noted as with blood and

Friedrich von Hayek: Defender of Political Liberty
Friedrich August von Hayek was born on May 8th, 1899 in Vienna to August von Hayek and Felicitas
Hayek (née von Juraschek) and was the oldest of three boys. His father and both of his grandfathers
were university professors and inspired young Friedrich to be a scholar. Franz von Juraschek, his
maternal grandfather, was a renowned economics and a friend of the founder of the Austrian School of
Economics, Eugen Böhm. As a young student, Hayek was very academically inclined. He read
frequently and, at his father s prompting, read Hugo de Vries and Ludwig Feuerbach, the former a
genetic scientist and the latter a philosopher who wrote a critique of Christianity. At school, he was

The Keynesian economist favors strong government and therefore government intervention in times of
trouble. However, Hayek argues that the government, as the central planner, cannot possibly know
how consumers would prefer to have resources used in the production of good and services. This lack
of knowledge, he calls the information problem for the central planner does not have enough
information to adequately provide for the people s needs and therefore surpluses and shortages
abound. Protecting protect property rights is the role of the government, Hayek stated. In his world
famous book, The Road to Serfdom, he warns that government intervention will create unintended
consequences which will make people clamor for more government help and lead to more government
intervention and more problems. Ludwig von Mises, a close friend and colleague of Hayek, said that
increasing government intervention would only lead to a socialist economy. To have economic
freedom, political liberty is essential. In The Road to Serfdom, Hayek explains how when the
government controls everything, they have power over the markets. This ties closely in with the idea
that information is decentralized. The prices and amount of goods produced would all be controlled by
the government. Hayek pointed out that powerful government attracted selfish people who cared for
themselves and their friends before looking to the needs of

Simula was designed like a simulation language. Smalltalk became the prototype of object oriented

Creating Magic Summary
No matter how old you are, when you go to Disney the inner child in you comes out. From the
moment you walk into Disney until the moment you walk out you feel welcomed and special. There is
one word that describes the Disney experience and that is that it is magical . Lee Cockerell writes of
this magic from firsthand experience, as he was the Executive Vice President of Operations of Walt
Disney World Resort for over ten years. Lee Cockerell grew up an Oklahoma farm boy and although
his educational background did not match his success, he did achieve success by starting at the bottom
and working his way up. In chapter two of his book, Creating Magic, Cockerell states that he learned

Cockerell states, You have to protect your reputation because it s the only one you have. When your

the people you lead. The final strategy in Creating Magic, Develop Character, Cockerell urges
employers to develop their team s character. The development of character, of the total person, is the
culmination of all of Cockerell s leadership skills.
I enjoyed reading Creating Magic and felt that Lee Cockerell s ten leadership strategies were very
insightful. Leaders come in all shapes, colors, ages, sizes, and positions in the workplace. Cockerell
shares numerous tools and techniques throughout the book that easily lend themselves to being an
educational leader. He also shows us that we can all increasingly create magic, and apply that magic in

The Communist Manifesto, By Karl Marx And Friedrich Engels
All written history is the history of class struggles (Marx). In the year 1848, Karl Marx and Friedrich
Engels decided to publish a manifesto after sitting down and sharing ideas for a period of time. Today,
that piece of writing is known as The Communist Manifesto. In this book, Marx, the principal author
stated that escaping from alienation required a revolution. That was the only possible way in which a
political as well as a social change could have been seen. Therefore, Marx theory implied the use of
violence. In addition, there was another individual, who argued that violence could be justified to gain
independence, the one and only way to be free. Fanon s theory on violence was very obvious and
precise: violence is the means by which the oppressed must gain freedom. On the contrary, Gandhi
understood the use of violence totally different. If the history of the universe had commenced with
wars, not a man would have been found alive to day. Although Marx and Fanon agreed that the use of
violence is necessary and can always be justified, Gandhi intended to prove that nonviolence can lead
a country to democracy. First of all, it is almost impossible to watch the news, or read an article on the
newspaper without encountering the word violence in it. Karl Marx, main author of The Communist
Manifesto and Frantz Fanon who wrote The Wretched of the Earth argued that the use of violence is
always present and unavoidable. In the book Colonial Voices, the first chapter

Tournament is a kind of reward system where fixed rewards are used for a fixed group of people and
the distribution of rewards is based on the order of the participants performance (Lazear amp; Oyer,
2009, p. 9). In this particular situation, four agents in one of Mitch amp; Murray s offices are given a
strong incentive to succeed in a sales tournament. Mitch amp; Murray uses a set of prizes that
diminish in value as a person s relative performance gets lower. The top seller will win himself a
Cadillac, the second will win himself a set of steak knives, and the others will be out of job (Glengarry
Glen Ross, n.d.). In response to the given prizes, four agents react in different ways.

The good leads are locked in the office manager s room and they will not be distributed until the end
of the contest. (Glengarry Glen Ross, n.d.). After he realizes that no matter how hard he work, his
sales performance will barely improve, he becomes desperate. At that point, the cost of effort for him
is too high which makes the prize unachievable, and thus provides no incentive for him to exert effort
anymore. With those old leads, luck becomes relatively more important to the final success and effort
relatively less important. In such case, workers will try less hard to win because effort has a smaller
effect on whether or not they win (Lazear amp; Oyer, 2009, p. 10). This is why he soon gives up
working on the old leads but to flatter, threaten, and bribe the office manager to get good leads which
can reduce the cost of his effort and diminish the importance of luck. However, the result is quite
unexpected His attempt to get good leads does not work out so he finally helps Dave to steal and sell
the good leads to another company. This result may not be explained by tournament theory but can be
explained by economic theories Homo economicus all want to maximize their own profit or utility at
the lowest cost (Homo economicus, n.d.). Stealing and selling the leads may be a risky move but the
profit it brings to Shelly exceeds the risk plus the profit he may gain from working on the old leads,

How Did The Civil Rights Movement Change In The 50 s
The 1950 s and 1960 s was a time for a much need changes in the United States. Many people were
ready for equal treatment without judgement of race or gender. During the 50 s this was considered a
rejuvenation of the civil rights movement. The United States had problems with hate crimes, racial
profiling and voting rights for African Americans. Many African Americans endured harsh treatment
and were discriminated again in many situations. With these problems the Civil rights movement was
created to end racial discrimination and to create racial equality. Although this movement started in
the early 19th century and it peaked between the 50 s and 60 s. This movement was to assure that

Effectiveness Of Successful Resilience Programs For Nurses
Shortcomings in the Literature
Although CF and resilience are relatively new areas of research, there are several studies that cite their
importance and benefit to combatting illness, nursing and patient quality of life, and retention rates. As
mentioned previously, CF adversely affects both nursing retention rates, as well as patient outcomes.
Hart, Brannan, and Chesnay felt a majority of factors in patient dissatisfaction were the same factors
that increased stress in nurses; thus, patient and nurse quality of life are inseparably tied together.
Preliminary studies show that resilience strengthening classes for nurses significantly alleviates CF
rates. However, no studies to date try to link these classes for nurses with patient outcomes. Patients
who have more resilience have better outcomes, especially long term and with regard to their families.
Research should be done to examine whether successful resilience programs for nurses also affect
both patient outcomes and patient resilience levels. If these are significantly benefited by resilience
programs, then resilience programs for nurses will have a greater reputation among healthcare
organizations. If both nursing and patient outcomes are benefited, the cost effectiveness and necessity
of these programs will be realized, as well as advancement in healthcare efficacy.
Proposal
Methods and Procedure
Given the previous research on CF and resilience within nursing and patient outcomes, a two part

According to Japanese mythology, the world begins with the birth of seven deities. These seven deities
arise and then pass away in what the Japanese call the, plain of high heaven. After this, five more

  • 2. Glasspro, Inc. Outline The Differences Life is riddled with choices: paper or plastic, chocolate or vanilla, Android or iOS. When it comes to windshield replacement, however, deciding between OEM and aftermarket glass can be a bit more involved. So which option is right for you? Below, the Cincinnati, OH auto glass experts at GlassPro, Inc. outline the differences. OEM An OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) windshield is often fabricated by the original windshield manufacturer and will be nearly identical to the one that rolled off the assembly line. Though, because car manufacturers often switch glass companies mid run, there is a chance that your OEM windshield will be made by a different glass company. • 3. Advantages Of Big Bang Disruption In the era where written communication was predominantly done by postal mail, email services offered a novel method that was not just quicker but also highly convenient. The huge and expensive mainframes were replaced by the smaller easy to use mini computers. Pocket calculators replaced the standard calculator while offering the same computing performance and portability. These were cases where the disruptive innovation creates a new market and value network that dislocates the existing market and dislodges the earlier technology. Big Bang Disruption (BBD) is a disruptive technological innovation that enters the market with a bang and faces dramatic market adoption often causing collateral damage to sitting business. The company combined the physical landlord model (with the subscription) and all you can eat model to allow customers to rent all the DVDs they could in a month for a flat upfront fee. Customers were allowed to keep the DVDs for an unlimited period of time and were not subject to the late fees. In return, customers agreed to pay a monthly subscription fee that was recurring in nature. Blockbuster versus Netflix: While both Blockbuster and Netflix bought movie licenses from studios, the key area of difference is the approach towards the target audience. Namely: While for Blockbuster, the customers had to come to the store and rent the DVDs, in the case of Netflix, the customer orders the DVD from the convenience of their homes, which would be delivered by US Post Blockbuster levied a late charge for the DVDs returned post the rental period, which was one of their major sources of revenue. Netflix on the other hand imposed no such late fees, which, although an immense liability, was also an important reason for their immediate popularity The only seemingly downside of Netflix was the waiting period for the users to receive the ... • 4. Analysis Of The Movie Birth Of A Nation Give a description of a scene that incorporates a more modern language of filmmaking via shots, lighting, editing. Birth of a Nation has a lot of scenes the movie itself is 3 hours long however in one specific scene D.W. Griffith manages to incorporate many modern filmmaking techniques. The scene in which Flora goes to retrieve water and is abruptly met by Gus incorporates many modern techniques. In this scene we see the use of close up shots to focus on character reactions from both Gus and Flora. We also see the use of close ups to focus on objects other characters are looking at such as Flora looking at a squirrel in a tree. Finally, we also see the use of natural lighting in this scene as the entirety of the scene is shot outside. This an instance of a form of cinematic realism that is confused for the reality of reconstruction politics after the death of Lincoln. What stereotypes are perpetrated in this film? The film consistently perpetuates stereotypes that the African American community are less than human and more like animals. This is done through how they act, the film itself depicts them as being uncivilized. Within the film there are scenes where many African American characters have taken political office and are shown taking their shoes off and being lazy, and eating food openly during political hearings. The film also depicts most African Americans as being evil or criminals. The film itself shows Gus attempting to harm Flora due to her refusing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. A Doorway From Moutiers Saint Jean A Doorway from Moutiers Saint Jean For certain periods in history, the only means of record available is in the objects the society of that time left behind. In the Central Middle Ages, material objects were not used so much for record, as documentation had already became required for governing and ecclesiastical institutions, but rather as teachers for the majority population that could not read. Material objects also taught those who could read, serving as grandiose reminders that instilled its lessons on the viewer through biblical scenes, and representation of important figures and characteristics of land. This is true of the doorway from Moutiers Saint Jean, a monastery in Burgundy, France whose monks were literate, but would have looked at the doorway as a confirmation of their livelihood, reinstating their faith. Moutiers Saint Jean was founded by a hermit called John of Réôme in the fifth century in dedication to the Virgin Mary. His sanctity drew others to him and enabled him to found a religious community dedicated to the Virgin. Such monasteries grew up in Burgundy and elsewhere from the cells of disciples clustered around the hermitage of a holy person. 1 It was the monasteries dedication to the Virgin that inspired the biblical scene on the arch of the doorway to be the Coronation of the Virgin. In the scene, Christ and Mary are enthroned in the Kingdom of Heaven. This scene was popular because rich imagery of the story was used ...in order to glorify the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Success Of The Franchise Industry The franchise industry is an industry that is highly visible to the public eye; mainly because of such names as McDonald s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Popeye s, Burger King, Starbucks and the like. They all fulfill a service which the general public supposedly needs. From a simple fried chicken leg, to a strong cup of specialized coffee, or even a set of bed linens, they all serve a general purpose. Each one supplies the public with goods and services at a cheaper price. The people or individuals who purchase a franchise also have to follow certain rules and regulations which are presented to them in the form of a binding contract. The accounting field also plays a major part in such transactions and the everyday life of a franchise. Everyone needs to be informed of how much income a franchise is taking in as well as what the myriad of expenses are. These expenses include how much they have to pay out in wages, inventory costs, insurance, rent, repair and upkeep, along with all the matters concerning taxation and billing. Sometimes things work out properly and everything is kept strictly honest while at other times illegal situations arise. My paper will be a brief explanation regarding how crime is and is not committed within a franchise. First will be a brief discussion that defines a franchise and the obligations of both the franchisee and franchiser. I will then discuss three recent accounting crimes, look at how the people in the industry feel about such matters, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, in San Bernardino County, only 79.2% of the people have health insurance. This is lower than the California statewide average which is almost 90%. Not too long after this, in 1822, the mission was abandoned due to the fact that California had become a Mexican territory. The mission was now known as a Rancho which would later be owned by the Lugo Brothers who eventually established it as part of the Spanish Trail trading post. When California became a part of the United States in 1848, the Lugo brothers sold the land to Mormon settlers; they transformed it into a temperance town in which no gambling or drinking was allowed, a big contrast to what it had been in the past. In 1854, the area was officially established as a city with a population of 1,200. What largely impacted the city was the railroads that were built in the late 1800s and the gold found, opening up travel opportunities, increasing numbers in population, and progressing commerce (City of San Bernardino, 2017d). After filing for bankruptcy in August 2012, the city has since been working on improving the state of the community. When the city first filed for bankruptcy it reported a deficit of over $45 million; just last year, the city s bankruptcy plan was approved. It helped to pave the road for the city s exit from bankruptcy (Nisperos Hagen, 2013). Terrorism actually dates back to biblical times and has haunted nations and their citizens much like it has here in the United States of America. The history of terrorism is as old as humans willingness to use violence to affect politics. The Sicarii were a first century Jewish group who murdered enemies and collaborators in their campaign to oust their Roman rulers from Judea. In February 2004 the group killed 150 people in simultaneous attacks in Baghdad and the Shiite holy city of Karbala during the Ashura festival (Friedland 2015). The JTWJ in 2004 officially became an affiliate with Al Qaeda and their well known leader Osama Bin Laden. At this point in time the group adopted the name Al Qaeda in the Land of the Two Rivers (the Tigris and the Euphrates). Also known as the Al Qaeda in Iraq or AQI. The AQI and Abu Musab al Zarqawi developed a different technique of warfare that separated them from the Al Qaeda that fought in Afghanistan. This Al Qaeda in Iraq was absolutely brutal and ultraviolent with their brand of Jihad. Abu Musab al Zarqawi used this type of Jihad to enforce Sharia law in the State of Iraq. Abu Musab al Zarqawi was killed in 2006 by a United States airstrike. After the death Abu Musab al Zarqawi in 2006 the organization adopted its third name known as Islamic State in Iraq (ISI). The ISI was led by Abu Ayyub Al Masri and then by Abu Omar al Baghdadi. The two were killed by a tank shell in 2010 (Friedland 2015). • 12. Human Motivation In East Of Eden In his novel, East of Eden, John Steinbeck presents Cathy Ames with human motivations, despite her character representing pure evil, to emphasize humanity s potential of evil. When Cathy is first introduced, the narrator calls her a monster, but in chapter seventeen, the narrator begins to doubt his claim, pitying her waiting for her pregnancy to be over, living on a farm she did not like, with a man she did not love (138). By including a statement discussing her unhappiness gives Cathy a human motivation to escape, although her escape is evil. When Cathy leaves, she shoots Adam because he attempts to stop her, but she does not aim for his head or heart to kill him, only a shot to the leg, which is enough to stop him, but not enough to kill him. A fatal shot would have been easy for Cathy, however, she had no reason to, so she only damaged Adam enough to achieve her goal. Unwanted pregnancies and unhappy marriages are all situations women attempt to escape, and in some cases, in extreme ways, like shooting their husbands. Humanizing Cathy connects humanity to evil. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Until Mr. Edwards, Cathy always had control. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the beginning of every chapter, Brian McCall talked a little bit about how the new politicians took over the position of Texas governor, which is a clever way of the transition. Although he spent 45% of the time talking about the campaign, a fair number for me, sometimes he spent 60% of the time explaining how some governors won the election, for example, John Connally, Dolph Briscoe, and William Clements in his first term. It really helps me to get to know those governors better than just reading their achievements, and I think that 60% is a large number for the campaign only. His idea of using the campaign as the transition between two administrations is very smart. I like it and I think he did really well on it, and I also think that he should shorten that part. The power of the Texas governor revealed not only what the Texas governors did in their terms, but also their personalities, their views, and their working styles. And because his purpose was to show their characteristics, he spent a lot of time talking about their campaign and what they did to attract the support of people and the legislators. The book gave me a flashback of Texas politics and fantastic development. Thanks to his personal experience in politics, McCall walked readers through nine terms of Texas governors and explained how the office of governor run within the broader ... • 14. David Malouf s Remembering Babylon And William Golding s... David Malouf s Remembering Babylon and William Golding s The Inheritors both explore and criticise violent and discriminatory human nature through various techniques. Remembering Babylon takes place in 19th Century Queensland following a young British man, Gemmy Fairley, who was thrown overboard a ship and has grown up with aboriginals for sixteen years, and his relationship with the new settlers. The Inheritors follows a journey of a peaceful Neanderthal tribe who are slowly facing extinction due to the violent nature of the coexisting humans, kidnapping and murdering. Both novels have criticised the impacts of human nature, how humans has developed and detached themselves from nature and been drawn to violence and discrimination. Malouf and Golding employ a range of literary techniques to express these ideas. Malouf and Golding s narrative perspectives vary to portray a unique perspective on the issues of human nature. Malouf writes in third person omniscient with a narrator, however changes the focus to specific characters throughout each chapter, becoming third person limited. This allows readers to understand the mind set of the settlers surrounding Gemmy s arrival however for the perspective to remain unbiased. In the year 1848, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels decided to publish a manifesto after sitting down and sharing ideas for a period of time. Today, that piece of writing is known as The Communist Manifesto. In this book, Marx, the principal author stated that escaping from alienation required a revolution. That was the only possible way in which a political as well as a social change could have been seen. Therefore, Marx theory implied the use of violence. In addition, there was another individual, who argued that violence could be justified to gain independence, the one and only way to be free. Fanon s theory on violence was very obvious and precise: violence is the means by which the oppressed must gain freedom. On the contrary, Gandhi understood the use of violence totally different. If the history of the universe had commenced with wars, not a man would have been found alive to day. Although Marx and Fanon agreed that the use of violence is necessary and can always be justified, Gandhi intended to prove that nonviolence can lead a country to democracy.
