After careful consideration on the topic of whaling I believe, that there should be no exemption made
for Norway or Japan in regards to commercial whaling. There are currently exemptions to the bans for
Inuit, which can be seen as a cultural exemption, though reliance on whaling for food is also a large
factor here. To me, this also makes the difference. While there would be no immediate threat to the
whale s populations, the practice is perceived as cruel and outrages many people. At the same time, I
am uncomfortable to forbid something just because people dislike it. Therefore I would personally be
most satisfied with a middle ground solution, for example centralizing the whaling so that no single
nation, but an international authority would supply the quota of whale meat to the nations in question.
Actually resolving this matter seems highly controversial though, since anybody willing to contribute
to the discussion, has strong opinions on it. Using oceangoing trawler factories to cross half the globe
does not present the continuation of a traditional practice but rather the commercialization of a cultural
activity. While I belive the cultural activity needs consideration to allow nations leeway, I don t belive
a nation has the inherent right to take from the planet as they please.

BACKGROUND
Winthrop University is a small public school with an enrollment of 5,065 undergraduate students (Fall

After years more of complaining, they decided to add a parking garage to their campus. Although this
garage eliminated 200 spaces, it added 613. The price of this garage was $5.5 million. Arkansas State
used the parking deck, as well as the reserved parking system to help alleviate their situation. Many
other campuses utilize the same systems, such as: University of Cincinnati, University of Iowa,
University of Louisville, University of Pittsburgh, University of South Florida, University of
Tennessee, University of Wisconsin, and many more.
There are currently only a handful of reserved spaces on campus, and the ground has yet to be broken
for the construction of the parking deck. In fact, Winthrop University does not even have all the funds
needed to build this parking deck. When I approached Jack Allen, of Campus Police, with my idea of
reserved parking spaces, he told me that he thought it was a good idea. Walter Hardin, when given the
same idea, seemed to think that the reserved parking system would not realistically work out but was
open to the proposal.
PROPOSED PROJECT
I am planning to find the funding needed to establish reserved parking at Winthrop University through
Campus Police and the current traffic and parking system. Hopefully, Winthrop University and
Campus Police will recognize the need and responsibility to fund these reserved parking spaces.

present study aims to document the differences in the pharmacognostic characters, preliminary
phytochemical analysis and polyphenolic contents from the leaves of four species belonging to the
genus Spermacoce, viz. S. hispida L., S. mauritiana O. Gideon, S. stricta L. and S. ocymoides Burm.
Transverse section passing through the midrib with lamina on either sides, epidermal characters, leaf
constants, organoleptic characters, physicochemical analysis, extractive values and preliminary
phytochemical analysis were carried out for all these species. Total Phenolic Content (TPC) by Folin
Ciocalteu method and Total Flavonoids (TF) by AlCl3 method were also estimated from the leaves of
all these species. The results indicated that S. hispida can be clearly differentiated from the other
selected species on the basis of size and number of epidermal cells, size of trichomes, leaf constants,
physicochemical analysis and extractive values. However, it is also found that S. hispida possess TPC
at 6.88±0.34 mg CAE/g and 9.17±0.46 mg TAE/g. TF was at 5.98±0.30 mg QE/g. The study will

eBay is an international online marketplace with a global customer base of 233 million. It is a
multibillion business operating in 37 countries. There are millions of items listed on eBay, including
antiques, toys, books, computers, sports and electronics, amongst many others.
In this assignment, I will perform a SWOT analysis of the company, then I will outline the strategies
pursued by eBay.

Dziga Vertov s Man with a Movie Camera presents the everyday urban activities of people from the
Soviet Union. Since the documentary film has no story at all, it also does not have continuity of
action. This 1929 documentary made use of montage where images were edited together without
visible or apparent connection between shots.
This documentary film is considered as one of the greatest films of all time. It has neither actors nor
story. It basically follows a camera man and his views of the Russian city. It is about film techniques
and the process required in making one.
Vertov believed that a camera has the power to unveil those aspects of the filmed events which
otherwise cannot be perceived. During that time, there are variety of camera angles and editing styles
and techniques that are being demonstrated in films. And one important aspects of this particular

For him, montage is a collision wherein the collision of two factors gives rise to an idea. An example
of this in the documentary film is when a woman wakes up and starts to wash her face, then the film
cuts to water cleaning off a pole. As the scene progresses, it shows a woman wiping herself using a
cloth, then cuts to a woman wiping off a window (probably using a similar cloth). Lastly, the film cuts
back to the woman cleaning her face and starting blinking as the windows starts to open and close at

Have you ever read something and wondered why someone wrote it? Many authors write about things
that are personal to them, yet they seem to relate in some way to everyone who reads it. Authors are
able to relate to their readers through the use of things like metaphors. This allows the reader to
interpret the story to fit their own life and experiences. In the poem, I Saw a Man Pursuing the
Horizon, the author, Stephen Crane, utilizes the use of a metaphor in order to relate to every reader
and to teach a lesson about having confidence in one s beliefs. In the poem, Crane tells the story of a
man, in which he is running after the horizon. This is a task in which the author views as impossible,
so he questions the man about his actions. The man blows him off and continues on with what he was
doing. The man does not seem to care what the author thinks and continues to have a strong belief in
the idea that he will reach the goal he is chasing after. The man in the story is determined to reach his
goal, and it is obvious that he will not let anyone else stop him from reaching it. Complete

This essay sets out to combine initial thoughts from patchwork texts to explore how to become a
primary science leader. Patchwork texts are outlined by Winter (2003) as a series of small sections

Also after speaking with the owners and priest of this Mandir, I ve realized that they are humble
people who give back to the poor and want to build a better community. Queens Hindu Mandir is
located on 107 01 101 Ave. Richmond hill NY 11419. This Mandir has been located in queens for
about 7 years now. There are two floors in the church; the first floor is the prayer room where all of
the Gods and Goddesses are located to be worshiped. The second floor is for the people to eat after

because it gives him peace, and praying for others help him feel better as a person. Pandit Ravi
