Matt Hollis and Centerville Supermarket
Shan Lu
Johnson amp;Wales University
I. The Stakeholder analysis
In this case, I have known that Matt Hollis is the owner of the Centerville General Store, which was
set up by his great grandparents one hundred years ago. This store had been handed down from
generation to generation. Although it was always a good source of income of Matt s family, there is a
slowly decreasing recently. At this point, the Supermarket has called Matt and offered him a good
opportunity to be the general manager of the Centerville Supermarket, according to this company is
going to open their markets here I this town. Obviously, it can bring a great benefit to his family, but

3. The Supermarket Company
According to the case, the Supermarket company is interested in opening their new stores in
Centerville and let themselves break in this Midwest area. They want to hire someone who had the
knowledge of the local business in this town and also has a great experience in this industry. Bill
Harrington called Matt Hollis and described their offer to him, because they consider Matt would be
the best person to help them starting businesses in this town.
The Supermarket Company is the financial founding of this plan, at the same time their willingness is
the origin and this company owns every single store which will be open in the future, so they have the
power of financial, voting and legal. 4. Bill Harrington
Basically, Bill Harrington has the same interest of his company, because he is responsible for the
development of Supermarket in the Midwest, so that makes him have the legal and voting power in
this case. 5. Local government and police
The local government shows the interest in this plan because they can see the increasing tax income in
the future, considering this phenomenon of a weak economy in the Midwest. The police may not
benefit from the opening supermarkets as much as the government, but they have the duty to take care

What caused Ranbir concern was the lack of consensus among the various stakeholder groups in the
Indian
Railways about the idea of tracking the rolling stock
(freight railcars, passenger coaches, locomotives). The need to automate such tracking especially for
freight railcars6 had been felt for almost two decades. Initially, the available technology was too
expensive, and experimental in nature; however, lately, technologies had stabilized, and costs had
come down. Various options had become available to automate the tracking, ranging from the use of
RFID tags to the use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) based technology. Other available
alternatives were the use of optical tracking systems using OCR, or the use of hand held devices to
manually record wagon identification data.
Ranbir scrutinized the thick file of papers in front of him.
It described the pilot project for automatic wagon tracking, which had recently commenced. The pilot
project envisaged the use of RFID technology, already proven in North
American railroads and other Railways, to tag 500 coal hopper wagons (Figure 1). Three trackside tag
readers would be placed along one of the routes used for

Blaming Gorbachev for the Collapse of the Soviet Union Essay
Blaming Gorbachev for the Collapse of the Soviet Union
On December 5 1991 the Soviet Union was declared officially non existent, radically changing the
world s economic and political environment. On the 10 February 1991 Heydar Aliyev spoke in
Parliament warning of his anticipation that the Soviet Union was to collapse, The Culprit to be blamed
is Gorbachev .
There is no doubt Gorbachev played a prominent role in the fall of communism in the USSR and the
collapse of the USSR itself, as well as acquiring the responsibility for ending the Cold War, a major
post war tension. What I will endeavour to conclude in this essay is the extent to which Gorbachev
was responsible for the USSR s downfall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many new editors were employed and a lot of information of a great scale, 1920 s and 30 s truths of
Stalin came out through new technology, embracing not only the printed media but also radio,
television and all areas of creative art. Although Gorbachev had originally stated he would continue
the political ways of his predecessors he was openly attacking Stalin. He believed no blank pages
should be left, thus when the truth about Stalin had been unravelled the citizens then moved towards
the investigation of Lennin. In 1986 new editors were also brought in to run Moskovskie novosti
(Moscow News), Literaturnaya gazeta, Izvestiya, and the influential journals Novy mir and Znamya
(Martin McCauley)
The Russian citizens were highly attentive when in 16 December1986 Gorbachev released the father
of the atomic H bomb from exile and later released political prisoners.
Gorbachev told the Central Committee who elected him that when the people are elected, the more
consciencely they act, the more actively they support the party (Steven White). With the knowledge of
the past information to define the good and the bad actions of the Soviet Union he believed the people
would make a concerted effort in restructuring the economy and participating in reforming their
country.

Questions On Securing Wireless Client Devices
5. Securing Wireless Client Devices
Two major threats to wireless client devices are (1) loss or theft, and (2) compromise. Many of us
store our confidential and proprietary information in our Laptops and PDAs, loss or theft of such kind
of devices may cause the organization to be in violation of privacy regulations involving the
disclosure of personal identifying information it has collected from third parties. Another threat to
wireless client devices is that they can be compromised so that an attacker can access sensitive
information stored on the device or use it to obtain unauthorized access to other system resources.

The user has to turn off the broadcast the information if the user is not present. Hackers can use
identifier broadcasting to home in on vulnerable wireless networks. Disable the identifier broadcasting
mechanism if your wireless router allows it.
6.4 Change the identifier on your router from the default
By default the router comes with standard ID assigned by the manufacture of the hardware of the
router. Suppose even if the router is not broadcasting the SSID the hackers can compromise the
network by using the default IDs and can access the network. So try to change the SSID to something
which you can remember easily and configure your computer to connect to it. Use a password which
is alphanumeric which cannot be easier for the hacker to break.
6.5 Change your router s pre set password for administration
Like changing the identifier of the router we have to change the default password of the router, which
allows us to setup and configure the router. Hackers can easily guess the default password and able to
compromise the system. The tougher the password, the harder it ll be for the hacker to crack it.
6.6 Allow only specific computers to access your wireless network
Computers can able to communicate with any network with a unique Media Access Control (MAC)
address. The routers have a mechanism to allow or connect only the devices which have a particular
MAC address. Some hackers can also spoof MAC address.

Challenges And Challenges Of India
Introduction
Livelihood is the important concept to understand about the different type of factors which are
affecting people s day to day life particularly those are living in vulnerable condition in our society.
For tribal development, improvement of their livelihood practices several Government agencies and
NGO s are working in our country and also in Maharashtra. But today also most of tribal communities
in our country live with low income, problem facing in income generation and becoming more
vulnerable in terms of socially, economically and politically. The present study aimed at exploring the
subject of livelihood opportunities and challenges of Gond tribes in Gondia district of Maharashtra.
Furthermore it sought to examine the socio economic conditions of Gond tribes in same region.
Tribals in India
In the world next to Africa, India has the largest concentration of tribal population. According to 2011
census report total Scheduled Tribes population in India is 8,43,26,240 which accounts for 8.2% of the
total country population. According to Kulamani Padhi (2005) the major identified tribes in country

to be 642 and several of them have become extinct or merged with other communities in continuous
development process. Thus, if the sub tribes and state tribes will be taken into consideration, the
number will be many more. These 428 communities

The adolescent period of a human is the developmental phase of child to adult. During this time in a
human s life the entire body is developing rapidly, there are many factors that can affect the natural
development. Alcohol is one of the most common depressants used and abused by adolescents which
can alter the development of the body, especially the development of the brain. When data from the
World Health Organization s Global Burden of Disease study were used to calculate cause specific

Monitoring Employees
When it comes to monitoring employees in the workplace, there are advantages for the employer to do
this, but there are also disadvantages of monitoring employees. Some of the most immediate
advantages to monitoring employees is that most likely job performance will be improved because if
an employee is being monitored and they know they will not try and do things that are not company
related. Another thing that monitoring work emails would help is sexual harassment because if
someone knows that their email is being recorded and or watched they would not even try to do that to
another coworker. The employer could see if their employees are actually doing their work. Then
finally, if a employer monitors emails it can help them not be liable

Asbestos and Its Effects on Human Health
I. Introduction
Asbestos refers to a group of minerals that take the form of thin crystal fibers. Asbestos has a history
of being mined for its physical properties that made it well suited for use in the construction and
automobile industries. There are six known types of asbestos that can be found in the environment, all
with similar and different properties. These types are referred to as chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite
tremolite, actinolite, and anthophyllite Scientific research in recent decades has revealed toxicity
associated with exposure in all types. Numerous major health organizations have agreed on the
carcinogenicity of the mineral leading to strict regulations of its use.
The Greeks who discovered it referred to it as inextinguishable and indestructible. History reveals that
Romans had used asbestos and made connections to exposure and health concerns. Large scale mining
of the mineral began in the 1800s and was heavily used until recent decades. Around the beginning of
the 1900s, serious medical exploration of asbestos began and started to become a well known job
hazard. By the 1970s, long term effects of exposure were undeniable (Barbalace 2004).
Since then, a significant decrease in the consumption of asbestos products has been seen, especially in
the United States. Increased knowledge of the potential dangers of the mineral has lead people to fear
asbestos creating a need for suitable alternatives (Toxicological 2001).

The Decentralization Of Chicago
The definition of the Middle East as a category, is very much dependent of the existence of a West
(Alsayyad, 2011). What defines the term western and what makes a populace considered western? The
term western derives from the idea of European modernization, from cities such as London or Paris.
Under this modernization the cities adapted to new technologies, such as transportation and road
systems. Western culture was introduced; culture referring to that complex while which includes
knowledge, belief, art, law, morals, customs, and other capabilities and habits acquired by a person as
a member of society (Edward B Taylor, Anthropologist). Foreign capital, through tourism and
investors, began to appear in these cities. Foreign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

some of the only means of affordable housing for some members of Cairo s community. By the end of
the 20th century 50% of Cairo s infrastructure consisted of informal housing settlements. This has lead
to Cairo becoming known as the Informal City, more so than any other city of the same kind. These
informal settlements had always been present in one way or another, but their growth was linked to the
dismantling of the public sector under president Sadat, and the globalization of Cairo, which can also

Regulatory Information And Managing Component Level...
Regulatory information includes publishing and managing component level information within dossier
spanning all formats like electronic Common Technical Document (eCTD), Non eCTD electronic
Submissions (NeeS) and paper etc., across diverse pharmaceutical markets. It also includes archival of
data / documents with appropriate modification history for audit purposes. Tracking of global
submission status with different health authorities and managing modification in those documents in
close co ordination with local representatives are key challenges that pharmaceutical industry is
potentially facing in a regulatory information management system. The continuous shift from paper
submissions to electronic submissions (e submission) in recent years has been accompanied by
corresponding business processes modifications. For life science pharmaceuticals, the challenge lies
not only in developing an innovative drug / biological product or medical device but in bearing the
competition to pharmaceutical market. It is not enough to spend millions and trillions in product
development, it is equally critical to be the first to launch the drug in the market compliance matters
the purview of the regulatory affairs team. In wake of intense competition in the global pharmaceutical
market, life science companies are increasingly relying on regulatory document publishing software to
support their compliance efforts. This competition actually started trending in regulatory publishing

Pollution Of Acid Rain In The United States
Acid Rain and acid deposition are pollutants that are very difficult to escape. It can reach every part of
the US and many parts of the world. According to the EPA, Acid Rain is a term that tends to be broad.
It s when precipitation contains Acidic particles such as Sulfuric, or Nitric acid. These acidic particles
can get carried all over by different means such as rain, wind, and even fog. Once it hits the ground it
is then washed away into water systems. Acid Rain is something that many organizations are trying to
have some control over due to the health issues it can cause in people and wildlife. Acid Rain

People delegate important personal aspects of their lives to professionals, but not without the risks of
unethical behaviors. The word Professional makes one think of wealth and power, which can result in
corruption; winning by any means necessary. In the movie The Verdict, Frank Galvin plays a lawyer
who has reduced himself to being a drunken ambulance chaser (Brown, Harris, Zanuck, amp; Lumet,
1982). He is given an opportunity by his good friend, Mickey Morrisey, to morally redeem himself;
not only as a lawyer, but most importantly a person.

Concannon was always one step ahead and through many corrosive acts almost derails Frank s case.
The Prince of Darkness Ed Concannon is a distinguished and deceitful lawyer defending the hospital

off witnesses and hired Laura Fischer, who sought out Frank romantically to get insight into his
strategies. Laura fell hard for Frank and her deceitful actions became more than she could handle. She

Ed Concannon viewed his client s as fomites that he could manipulate for profit rather than do what is
right. His approach to law was unethical both morally and professionally, but the most contentious
view of Concannon s ethical behavior was his callous views of justice.

Analysis Of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide
The characters between the two adaptations are portrayed in contrasting ways due to the diverse cast.
In the 1981 s adaption of For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Enuf
the characters are all their own entity keeping each story separate. While the actors and actresses
remain the same through the entire film, the characters come from a variety of backgrounds including
half Latino women to a young woman receiving an abortion. These stories are cohesive only through
the actions and lives of African American women, not through a plot which interconnects these stories.
This way of expressing the different types of women and what they stand for creates the cohesion that
is necessary for this form of literature.
In the 2010 s For Colored Girls, Tyler Perry attempted to create a cohesive narrative through
connecting each of the monologues with the characters. Each woman is given a role from the novel
but has added on story elements outside of the original play. For example, the play has a part that
states, this note is attached to a plant i ve been waterin since the day i met you you may water it yr
damn self . In the 1981 play, the woman is speaking to herself in the mirror as if trying to get the nerve
to express herself to her lover. In Tyler Perry s version, the woman is stating all of this in front of the
door of her ex lover. This scene creates an umbrella in which you are greeted with the rest of the cast
that mostly lives in the same apartment

Developing Wireless Communications to Space Essay
A big potential problem in the future is developing a wireless communications network in outer space.
In this paper we will discuss the problems presented with this and the potential solutions to these
problems using existing and some futuristic technology. We have broke this into two main parts, one
being earth to satellite to planet and back, and the other being planetary ground transmission to and
from astronauts to rovers to space stations.
The solution has already started being implemented and will continue rapidly into the near future. It is
called the Interplanetary Internet. As of now it is an array of floating nodes or satellites scattered
around in space that can communicate with each other. In the future a ... Show more content on

On the earth we are only separated from one another by fractions of a second. From earth to mars the
average transmission time is 30 45 minutes. That would feel like light years trying to download tracks
to your iPod.
In order to make this work a massive system of satellites needs to be implemented. These satellites
will serve as net gateways with the purpose of conveying data packets. Each piece of equipment will
have its own IPN address, or .mars domain name. They will serve as nodes, operating on a packet
switched network.
Some major possible problems include lag, weak signal, and reduced bandwidth. The solution to all of
these lies in a new IPN protocol being developed. This protocol, along with high precision equipment,
will help to eliminated all of these. The protocol has changed in two major ways from our own TCP/IP
protocol. This first is a packet delivery scheme that won t clog the system by resending missing
packets. IPN instead keeps track of arriving packets and then requesting missing ones at the end of
delivery. The second is the packet headers will use only one tenth as much bandwidth as TCP/IP. Back
on earth there will be gateways to translate.
Another big problem with the Interplanetary Internet is speed. Using our current technology the top
speed for sending data from a satellite orbiting mars to earth is 250 kbps. Down on mars, in a dusty
unknown atmosphere with not much power, this is more like 10 kbps. The solution

The Conflict Of The Syrian Civil War
The conflicts, especially political conflicts, were not formed overnight. They have been accumulating
for at least four years. The Syrian Civil War that displaced millions of refugees officially began on
March 15th, 2011 when protesters stormed the capital of Damascus demanding democratic reforms
and the release of political prisoners from the Assad regime. (Kareem Fahim) Unfortunately, these
campaigns were met with gunfire, as only a month later the Syrian army engaged in a series of
military attacks on its own people leading to the death of over 1,000 civilians. The Civil War that led
to the accumulation of refugees started for a series of complicated reasons. For one thing, Shia Sunni
conflicts persisting to this day have caused great tensions between communities. The Alawite (Shia)
dominated Al Assad government has oppressed Sunni Muslims (the majority of Muslims) with armed
forces for more than 50 years, which enormously intensified the situation in Syria. For another, the
poor economic conditions in Syria also contributed a great deal to this war. Although President Al
Assad had carried out a series of reforms in 2000, people in Syria suffered from high unemployment
rate (14.9%) and low average income (below US $49). (Central Intelligence Agency) A power vacuum
exists in the region, with ISIS (aka Islamic State of Iraq and Levant), Al Nusra, and Kurds all battling
for control in Syria. ISIS, which now owns the largest portion of Syria, took advantage of the power

The Elements Of Style By William Strunk Jr.
William Strunk Jr., an English professor at Cornell University in 1919 required his students to have
the textbook The Elements of Style, written by William Strunk Jr. himself. It was referred to as the
little book and was a forty three page summary of the case for cleanliness, accuracy and brevity in the
use of English (Strunk White, 2000). These rules are in the form of sharp commands, shining light on
Sergeant Strunk s personality and approach to teaching. E.B. White, a former student of Strunk,
revised the book he was given, years after his professor passed away. White does not soften the direct
orders of the original book, but preserves the flavor of his discontent while enlarging the scope of the
discussion (Strunk White, 2000 xiv). The Elements of Style provides the readers with a convenient
reference for grammar, while emphasizing the importance of omitting needless words, using concrete
language and active voice all in a suitable design. When he delivered his oration on brevity to the
class, he leaned forward over his desk, grasped his coast lapels in his hands, and, in a husky,
conspiratorial voice, said, Rule Seventeen. Omit needless words! Omit needless words! Omit needless
words! (Strunk White, 2000, xv). Strunk provides an image for the most important aspect of his book.
The repetition of this rule throughout the entire book, proves not only the importance of it to Professor
Strunk, but to writing as a whole. The author s advocate trimming

It is almost impossible to go through a day without listening to some kind of music, whether it s at
work or in public music is all around us. In the short time music listening has been around it has
changed so much. We have gone from purchasing records to paying for a subscription that supplies
with all our music needs in volumes we have never been able to do before. The evolution of music
listening has shown the most change just within the past 15 years or so. Millennials grew up with CD
players, iPods, smartphones, and music purchasing sites like Napster and Itunes. The newest trend in

We will explore the software that has contributed to Spotify s success, what sets them apart from other
streaming services, and how they will be able to keep growing in the future.
In 2014, Spotify acquired a software called Echo Nest, which specializes in analyzing artists, music
sites, and different artists. This software finds new music for Spotify to use in its playlists that keeps
listeners interested and engaged. The picture displaying multiple genres of music is representative of
how the software works and how it analyzes different data to introduce and create new music and

Overview
In order for Spotify and other music streaming services to provide its users with all they desire and
more, the gathering, analysis, and application of data and metrics is critical. In this industry, the music
provider must stay on top of listener trends in order to accommodate the listener s preferences. The
metrics used by the music industry have drastically shifted in the last 10 years. With the availability of
streaming services, album and record sales have plummeted. They have been replaced by streams. It
used to be commonplace for a popular album to sell millions of copies. In today s world, even the best
selling albums have trouble breaking 1 million copies sold. One of the more

Gender Stereotypes In The Media
Gender stereotypes are everywhere. Even before we can understand what this means, people are
constantly exposed to them through advertisements, toys, clothes, and the media including television
shows and movies. To evaluate the prevalence of gender stereotypes in television programs targeted
towards young children, I chose to watch four different shows called Phineas and Ferb, Little
Einsteins, Horrid Henry, and Sofia the First. When picking what shows to watch, I intentionally
selected at least one that looked targeted towards boys, another that appeared to be targeted towards
girls, and finally one that seemed gender neutral. I also made sure to watch at least two episodes of
each program to determine whether the themes I observed were ... Show more content on

During this process, however, only one girl is ever included. In fact, I paused the show during a scene
when the friends were riding the rollercoaster, and counted 11 boys in compared to only one girl.
The second show I evaluated was a cartoon called Little Einsteins. This show features a group of four
friends, two boys and two girls, who go on a different adventure in each episode, usually in pursuit of
solving a specified problem. The problem in the first episode I watched was that one of the planet
Saturn s rings fell off and the group had to work together to try and return it back to space. This show,
in my opinion, had very little gender stereotyping, even with careful analysis as well as no violence. A
small aspect I did notice was that the two male characters were usually the ones to come up with
problem solving and heroic ideas while the girls were the ones asking questions like what are we
supposed to do? while more often scared in a problematic scenario. The physical appearances of the
characters also varied and I don t believe they were conforming to stereotypes, but instead, provided a
range of personalities and physical appearances that all types of kids could identify with. Prosocial
behavior is a big part of this show. This group of friends is constantly trying to solve problems that
benefit others, while not receiving anything beneficial themselves. For example, when the friends
decided to return Saturn s lost ring back to

Brazil Party System Essay
Introduction: Political parties represent very important factor in order to have a democratic system in
particular and a democratic country in general, they work as the mediator between the society and the
state and the effectiveness of the party system in any country depend mainly on its ability to achieve
the demands of the public. However, in Latin America, not all the countries have that important
function of the party system. Brazil and Chile from the period of 1990 2006 show similar type of a
party system [both have multi party politics] but not similar outcome regarding the fulfillment of
public demands which should be the priority for any democratic governments]. Party system in Brazil

This research paper will focus on the effect of the ideological party system of Brazil and Chile and the
consequences on the government efficiency in achieving and responding to the demands of the public.
Through using normativesociological institutionalism to better understand how the role of culture and
norms including ideology has a role in establishing the social institutions and formal organizations
leading to an institutional behavior [action] that affects the state as on organization and policy making
agenda.(Bolfikova, Hrehova and Frenova,2012). It also discusses the historical roots of party system
in Brazil and Chile and the reasons for the different outcome that party system through forming
coalitions and in Chile that affect the level of responsiveness from the government is able to connect
more with the social groups and association in order to accomplish the public demands while in Brazil
parties are weakly linked to the social organizations and therefore has little effect on the government
level of responsiveness. It also explains why both Brazil and Chile have reached a different political
outcome although both are similar in many circumstances as both had a military coup in the mid 60s
with the USA help because both were seen as a great threat Capitalist USA during the

Comparison Of Hamilton And Kurt Vonnegut s Slaughterhouse...
Lin Manuel Miranda s musical Hamilton and Kurt Vonnegut s book Slaughterhouse Five were written
almost fifty years of each other. Furthermore, the time periods they were set in were quite different
when it came to equality for women. Still, both Eliza and Valencia live within the same social
contexts; they are women of the upper class in America. Although, their values and performances were
remarkably diverse. While Valencia surrendered to the domestic realm during her lifetime, Eliza used
her potential for a greater good prior to Hamilton s passing. Also, Eliza had personality, whereas
Valencia was made out to be monotonous. These differences, however, can be traced back to the
authors of these pieces. How is it that a musical set to be placed when our country was discovered was
less sexist than a book that was written after women gained their right to vote? ... Show more content

Subsequent to these men committing adultery, both wives remained married to their unfaithful

had also had a reverie of a starlet by the name of Montana Wildhack, ( ). The behavior of this
philandering individual reflects the morals of the writer; Kurt Vonnegut, too, had cheated on his wife (

The Importance of Companionship Essay
In this prison it is only in human intercourse that I can pretend to find consolation (Shelley 191),
writes Mary Shelley on January 18th, 1824, to describe her extreme state of loneliness two years after
her husband s passing. This passage shows how lack of companionship can make the world seems
empty, while an abundance of companionship will fill the lives of those who are so blessed to possess
it. In many novels we can see how the protagonist always has their confidante, or someone who they
will turn to when they are filled with despair and agony. Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is no different.
Each character has a need for the presence of a kind and loving soul in their life, or they could be
turned into creatures of misery and anguish. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I felt suddenly, and for the first time during many months, calm and serene joy. I welcomed my
friend... (Shelley 37) shows his happiness when Clervel arrives, for a moment he even forgets the
creature he had created. He says: With this deep consciousness of what they owed to the being to
which they had given life... I received a lesson of patience, of charity, and of self control... (Shelley
16), in which you see how the parent of a child understands that the child needs a caring, loving hand
in order to grow up with a caring, loving heart. Victor seems to have forgotten this lesson that his
parents taught him when he is repulsed by his creation, of whom he was so sure that ... no father
would claim the gratitude of his child as I should so completely... (Shelley 32), yet he rejects the
monster because of its hideous appearance.
All men hate the wretched; how then, must I be hated, who am miserable beyond all living things! Yet
you, my creator, detest and spurn me, they creature, to whom thou art bound by ties only dissoluble by
the annihilation of one of us (Shelley 83). This passage is very enlightening as to how companionship
or lack thereof can affect one greatly. The monster that Victor Frankenstein created was wretched in
his ugliness. He felt as if when [he] looked around [he] saw and heard of none like [him] (Shelley
105). This monster did not want be a blot upon the

Orgasm Inc. Documentary Analysis
Orgasm Inc. is a documentary that discusses the influence of pharmaceutical companies on the
medical field, particularly in diseases. The United States is one of the rare countries that allows the
pharmaceutical companies to directly advertise to consumers. This creates an environment where the
patients requests medicine from the doctors instead of the other way around. Patients come in and put
pressure on doctors because they saw a commercial or feel like they know what is best.
Pharmaceutical companies have become about marketing and diagnosing rather than treating. Liz
Canner was asked to work for a company to help them market their new product. The company was
one of the first companies to produce a drug to treat Erectile Dysfunction.

Persuasive Essay On Boxing
Boxing has elements to it that teaches you more about fighting than you think is possible. People who
have never tried it think that because boxing only involves using the hands/fists without any kicking
or other moves that it s not real fighting. Those who have tried boxing know that it s tough sport that
involves strict training and tough competition. It s genuine athletics that requires raw speed, stamina,
and power. Your reflexed in boxing need to be quick and that involves fast reaction time on the part of
the boxer.
All types of fighters from mixed martial arts should learn to box because they will benefit from it.
Even if the punches and techniques aren t interesting to you, it s still a good sport to learn and master.
It will improve your athletic performance, speed, stamina, and your reflexes and reaction time. It
builds confidence and gives you polished moves.
Here are 5 viable reasons why every fighter should get some boxing skills.

Speedy Reflexes are important in boxing. Boxing matches are faster paced than other fighting/combat
sports. The opponents are closer in proximity with both attacking and defending at the same time. You
don t hear the bell, walk out and walk around in boxing. You step out and start fighting. Sure, that s
great for hand to hand, but what about with weapons or kicking? The techniques used in boxing
improve your reaction time and reflexes, which helps you be faster when you need to be, and teaches
you how to use your hands when you re without a weapon or unable to kick.
2. Master the Art of Slickness by learning to box. You can master the art of slickness known as the
sweet science of boxing. Art + Efficiency = Slickness. That s the equation. Being slick helps you
overwhelm and shutdown your opponent. While it s a rare occurrence, slickness looks like a beat
down with all the boxing combinations being thrown. It also gives you a way to show your own

Security Threats, Vulnerabilities And Control Measures Essay
SECURITY THREATS, VULNERABILITIES AND CONTROL MEASURES IN WEB SERVICES
By Kiner Shah, BE COMP B3, 1311113 7th August 2016
Introduction
A Web Service is software which is available over the internet and uses the standardized XML
messaging system. To encode the communications, XML is used. Web services are self contained,
modular, distributed, dynamic applications that can be described, published, located, or invoked over
the network to create products, processes, and supply chains. These applications can be local,
distributed, or web based. Web services are built on top of open standards such as TCP/IP, HTTP,
Java, HTML, and XML. Web Services have three main components Simple Object Access Protocol
(SOAP), Universal Description Discovery and Integration (UDDI) and Web Services Description
Language (WSDL) and they are built on XML and HTTP platforms.
Due to simplicity, platform independence and XML/SOAP support, Web Services are vulnerable to
various security threats including various new and old inherited security threats. There are various
control measures and certain possible ontological solutions which can reduce the vulnerability of the
Web Services to various security threats.
Terminologies
Threat: A set of circumstances that has the potential to cause loss or harm.
Vulnerability: A weakness in the security system, procedure, design or implementation that might be
exploited to cause loss or harm.
Attack: Any action that compromises the security of information.

Looking For Little Egypt By Donna Carlton
Looking For Little Egypt
By Donna Carlton. Bloomington, IN: IDD Books, 1994. 103 pages. $14.95 paperback.
The mystique and murk that shroud the legend and disparate accounts of the mysterious Little Egypt
who stirred up much controversy in the United States in the time after the Chicago Columbian
Exposition of 1893 only highlights the significance of the character in the evolution of belly dance and
America s perception of it. Most historical memoirs of danse du ventre, known as belly dancing,
mention that it entered America through the 1893 Chicago Columbian Exposition. Concessions such
as the Algerian, the Ottoman, the Persian as well as the Egyptian incorporated belly dance to draw
crowds attention, profiting more in the process. Because of the nature of this exotic dance and its fluid
arm and hand movements as well as isolations and shimmies of the shoulder, pelvis, abdominal
muscles and head, its exposition spread rumors all over the country. Many flocked to see it.
Nevertheless, the notorious name of Little Egypt came to be known from the Street in Cairo, owing to
the several exotic shows that attracted many Americans. Even in the twenty first century, Little Egypt
s name is still a mystery, having become a legend that has lured many dancers.
In Looking For Little Egypt, Donna Carlton takes her readers on a journey to the Chicago Columbian
Exposition in 1893 to investigate Little Egypt s identity. During her research, she encountered
interesting stories about the

Analysis Of The Article Why Hominids And Space Go...
Manned spaceflight is a crucial argument in society. Two writers, Seth Shostak and John Logsdon,
both believe that America is making a mistake by ending manned space exploration. Seth Shostak is
the author of the article Why Hominids and Space Go Together in The New York Times Room for
Debate; his article is about how President Obama s new vision for the NASA program is not a good
plan. John Logsdon also wrote an article for The New York Times Room for Debate called American
Patrimony. His article is more focused on how it will be a loss of patriotism to end manned spaceflight
in the United States. Both Shostak and Logsdon agree that manned space travel should continue, but
Shostak s rhetoric is more effective because his argument is well organized and credible, he ties in his
readers emotions efficiently, and he logically explains his beliefs.
In Shostak s article he portrays himself as a credible source, which makes his ethos appeal successful.
Shostak makes many attempts to make his article trustworthy, some of which actually diminish his
ethos. One way the writer seeks to obtain credibility is through the structure of the article. He arranged
his piece in a very organized way that states the points thoroughly and with confidence, which
portrays him as a knowledgeable source. Another way he gains credibility is through the language and
dialect he incorporates. He includes words such as autonomous rovers and anachronism which
indicates his piece is aimed at an

Wayne Grudem s Business For The Glory Of God
Like any great researcher, Wayne Grudem began his work in Business for the Glory of God with a
question: Is business basically good or evil? With the influence of colleagues, mentors and students,
Grudem began on a journey to find the answer to the question that has haunted believers for ages
through research and the Bible as his ultimate guide. The conclusion he came to and the claim he
would make proved simple, yet profound: ...many aspects of business activity are morally good in
themselves, and that in themselves they bring glory to God though they also have great potential for
misuse and wrongdoing (Grudem 12). With this thesis as a metronome setting the pace for the rest of
his book, Grudem unpacks eleven aspects of business activity, ... Show more content on

privilege of imitating his nature as children through them. I m reminded through the primary themes in
Business for the Glory of God of 1 Corinthians 10:31, So whether you eat or drink or whatever you
do, do it all for the glory of God. What a gift it is to know that business really is glorifying to God by
design. We don t have to try to justify these actions because they are already pleasing to the Lord. We
get the privilege of imitating our heavenly Father through our instinctive drive to work, to be
productive, to invent, to earn and save and give, and to do the thousands of specific activities that fill

Character Analysis of Emily Rose in a Rose for Emily
The character Emily Rose in A Rose for Emily is considered a static character because; her traits
throughout the story do not change. In the story she is deemed as quiet, inhuman and, even mad.
However, through further inspection; there are characteristics displayed throughout the story that can
possibly prove that Emily was a dynamic character. Throughout the piece Emily changes both
mentally, socially and physically.
Miss Emily, the main character of this story, lives for many years as a recluse; she withdraws from her
community to live in seclusion. No visitor had passed since she ceased giving china painting lessons
eight or ten years earlier. (pg.31) Faulkner characterizes Miss Emily s attempt to remove herself from

Analysis Of Dante s The Of Hell
Jacob Barnett
Essay#2
Reid
Title
I think Dante s description of Hell is a wonderful work of literature. Dante uses numerous literary
techniques to describe his envisionment of Hell to the reader. In my opinion, one of the most affective
techniques used by Dante is symbolism. It would be a very difficult task to compile a brief list of
significant symbols from the Cantos that we read in class. Dante utilized many symbols throughout
each canto. Some of the symbols that Dante used in Inferno are well defined and easy to interpret,
while other symbols are much more difficult to recognize and understand. For this paper, I will be
analyzing multiple symbols from Dante s Inferno. Some of the symbols came from the Canto s that
were included in class readings while others were depicted throughout the Canto s that were not
assigned readings.
I found that one of the major symbols that reoccurred throughout the poem is the idea of a continuing
journey. This was depicted in the very first line of the poem when Dante s life was compared to a road
or pathway which Dante is halfway through. The specificity of the piece noting that Dante is halfway
through further emphasizes the symbolism of continuing a journey by out rightly stating that he has
begun but not yet finished. Therefore, when Dante strays from the intended path in the beginning of
the first Canto he has symbolically strayed from the right kind of life . Dante s journey with Virgil
through the many layers of hell also

What caused Ranbir concern was the lack of consensus among the various stakeholder groups in the Indian Railways about the idea of tracking the rolling stock (freight railcars, passenger coaches, locomotives). The need to automate such tracking especially for freight railcars6 had been felt for almost two decades. Initially, the available technology was too expensive, and experimental in nature; however, lately, technologies had stabilized, and costs had come down. Various options had become available to automate the tracking, ranging from the use of RFID tags to the use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) based technology. Other available alternatives were the use of optical tracking systems using OCR, or the use of hand held devices to manually record wagon identification data. Ranbir scrutinized the thick file of papers in front of him. It described the pilot project for automatic wagon tracking, which had recently commenced. The pilot project envisaged the use of RFID technology, already proven in North

  • 11. Asbestos and Its Effects on Human Health I. Introduction Asbestos refers to a group of minerals that take the form of thin crystal fibers. Asbestos has a history of being mined for its physical properties that made it well suited for use in the construction and automobile industries. There are six known types of asbestos that can be found in the environment, all with similar and different properties. These types are referred to as chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite tremolite, actinolite, and anthophyllite Scientific research in recent decades has revealed toxicity associated with exposure in all types. Numerous major health organizations have agreed on the carcinogenicity of the mineral leading to strict regulations of its use. The Greeks who discovered it referred to it as inextinguishable and indestructible. History reveals that Romans had used asbestos and made connections to exposure and health concerns. Large scale mining of the mineral began in the 1800s and was heavily used until recent decades. Around the beginning of the 1900s, serious medical exploration of asbestos began and started to become a well known job hazard. By the 1970s, long term effects of exposure were undeniable (Barbalace 2004). Since then, a significant decrease in the consumption of asbestos products has been seen, especially in the United States. Increased knowledge of the potential dangers of the mineral has lead people to fear asbestos creating a need for suitable alternatives (Toxicological 2001). Data derived ... • 16. Analysis Of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide The characters between the two adaptations are portrayed in contrasting ways due to the diverse cast. In the 1981 s adaption of For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Enuf the characters are all their own entity keeping each story separate. While the actors and actresses remain the same through the entire film, the characters come from a variety of backgrounds including half Latino women to a young woman receiving an abortion. These stories are cohesive only through the actions and lives of African American women, not through a plot which interconnects these stories. This way of expressing the different types of women and what they stand for creates the cohesion that is necessary for this form of literature. In the 2010 s For Colored Girls, Tyler Perry attempted to create a cohesive narrative through connecting each of the monologues with the characters. Each woman is given a role from the novel but has added on story elements outside of the original play. For example, the play has a part that states, this note is attached to a plant i ve been waterin since the day i met you you may water it yr damn self . In the 1981 play, the woman is speaking to herself in the mirror as if trying to get the nerve to express herself to her lover. In this paper we will discuss the problems presented with this and the potential solutions to these problems using existing and some futuristic technology. We have broke this into two main parts, one being earth to satellite to planet and back, and the other being planetary ground transmission to and from astronauts to rovers to space stations. On the earth we are only separated from one another by fractions of a second. From earth to mars the average transmission time is 30 45 minutes. That would feel like light years trying to download tracks to your iPod. In order to make this work a massive system of satellites needs to be implemented. These satellites will serve as net gateways with the purpose of conveying data packets. Each piece of equipment will have its own IPN address, or .mars domain name. They will serve as nodes, operating on a packet switched network. Some major possible problems include lag, weak signal, and reduced bandwidth. The solution to all of these lies in a new IPN protocol being developed. This protocol, along with high precision equipment, will help to eliminated all of these. The protocol has changed in two major ways from our own TCP/IP protocol. This first is a packet delivery scheme that won t clog the system by resending missing packets. IPN instead keeps track of arriving packets and then requesting missing ones at the end of delivery. The second is the packet headers will use only one tenth as much bandwidth as TCP/IP. Back on earth there will be gateways to translate. Another big problem with the Interplanetary Internet is speed. Using our current technology the top speed for sending data from a satellite orbiting mars to earth is 250 kbps. Down on mars, in a dusty unknown atmosphere with not much power, this is more like 10 kbps. The solution ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. The Conflict Of The Syrian Civil War The conflicts, especially political conflicts, were not formed overnight. They have been accumulating for at least four years. The Syrian Civil War that displaced millions of refugees officially began on March 15th, 2011 when protesters stormed the capital of Damascus demanding democratic reforms and the release of political prisoners from the Assad regime. (Kareem Fahim) Unfortunately, these campaigns were met with gunfire, as only a month later the Syrian army engaged in a series of military attacks on its own people leading to the death of over 1,000 civilians. The Civil War that led to the accumulation of refugees started for a series of complicated reasons. For one thing, Shia Sunni conflicts persisting to this day have caused great tensions between communities. The Alawite (Shia) dominated Al Assad government has oppressed Sunni Muslims (the majority of Muslims) with armed forces for more than 50 years, which enormously intensified the situation in Syria. For another, the poor economic conditions in Syria also contributed a great deal to this war. Although President Al Assad had carried out a series of reforms in 2000, people in Syria suffered from high unemployment rate (14.9%) and low average income (below US $49). • 21. The Elements Of Style By William Strunk Jr. William Strunk Jr., an English professor at Cornell University in 1919 required his students to have the textbook The Elements of Style, written by William Strunk Jr. himself. It was referred to as the little book and was a forty three page summary of the case for cleanliness, accuracy and brevity in the use of English (Strunk White, 2000). These rules are in the form of sharp commands, shining light on Sergeant Strunk s personality and approach to teaching. E.B. White, a former student of Strunk, revised the book he was given, years after his professor passed away. White does not soften the direct orders of the original book, but preserves the flavor of his discontent while enlarging the scope of the discussion (Strunk White, 2000 xiv). The Elements of Style provides the readers with a convenient reference for grammar, while emphasizing the importance of omitting needless words, using concrete language and active voice all in a suitable design. When he delivered his oration on brevity to the class, he leaned forward over his desk, grasped his coast lapels in his hands, and, in a husky, conspiratorial voice, said, Rule Seventeen. Omit needless words! Omit needless words! Omit needless words! (Strunk White, 2000, xv). Strunk provides an image for the most important aspect of his book. The metrics used by the music industry have drastically shifted in the last 10 years. With the availability of streaming services, album and record sales have plummeted. They have been replaced by streams. It used to be commonplace for a popular album to sell millions of copies. • 23. Gender Stereotypes In The Media Gender stereotypes are everywhere. Even before we can understand what this means, people are constantly exposed to them through advertisements, toys, clothes, and the media including television shows and movies. To evaluate the prevalence of gender stereotypes in television programs targeted towards young children, I chose to watch four different shows called Phineas and Ferb, Little Einsteins, Horrid Henry, and Sofia the First. When picking what shows to watch, I intentionally selected at least one that looked targeted towards boys, another that appeared to be targeted towards girls, and finally one that seemed gender neutral. I also made sure to watch at least two episodes of each program to determine whether the themes I observed were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During this process, however, only one girl is ever included. In fact, I paused the show during a scene when the friends were riding the rollercoaster, and counted 11 boys in compared to only one girl. The second show I evaluated was a cartoon called Little Einsteins. This show features a group of four friends, two boys and two girls, who go on a different adventure in each episode, usually in pursuit of solving a specified problem. The problem in the first episode I watched was that one of the planet Saturn s rings fell off and the group had to work together to try and return it back to space. This show, in my opinion, had very little gender stereotyping, even with careful analysis as well as no violence. A small aspect I did notice was that the two male characters were usually the ones to come up with problem solving and heroic ideas while the girls were the ones asking questions like what are we supposed to do? while more often scared in a problematic scenario. The physical appearances of the characters also varied and I don t believe they were conforming to stereotypes, but instead, provided a range of personalities and physical appearances that all types of kids could identify with. Prosocial behavior is a big part of this show. This group of friends is constantly trying to solve problems that benefit others, while not receiving anything beneficial themselves. For example, when the friends decided to return Saturn s lost ring back to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Furthermore, the time periods they were set in were quite different when it came to equality for women. Still, both Eliza and Valencia live within the same social contexts; they are women of the upper class in America. Although, their values and performances were remarkably diverse. While Valencia surrendered to the domestic realm during her lifetime, Eliza used her potential for a greater good prior to Hamilton s passing. Also, Eliza had personality, whereas Valencia was made out to be monotonous. These differences, however, can be traced back to the authors of these pieces. • 26. The Importance of Companionship Essay In this prison it is only in human intercourse that I can pretend to find consolation (Shelley 191), writes Mary Shelley on January 18th, 1824, to describe her extreme state of loneliness two years after her husband s passing. This passage shows how lack of companionship can make the world seems empty, while an abundance of companionship will fill the lives of those who are so blessed to possess it. In many novels we can see how the protagonist always has their confidante, or someone who they will turn to when they are filled with despair and agony. Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is no different. Each character has a need for the presence of a kind and loving soul in their life, or they could be turned into creatures of misery and anguish. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mystique and murk that shroud the legend and disparate accounts of the mysterious Little Egypt who stirred up much controversy in the United States in the time after the Chicago Columbian Exposition of 1893 only highlights the significance of the character in the evolution of belly dance and America s perception of it. Most historical memoirs of danse du ventre, known as belly dancing, mention that it entered America through the 1893 Chicago Columbian Exposition. Concessions such as the Algerian, the Ottoman, the Persian as well as the Egyptian incorporated belly dance to draw crowds attention, profiting more in the process. Because of the nature of this exotic dance and its fluid arm and hand movements as well as isolations and shimmies of the shoulder, pelvis, abdominal muscles and head, its exposition spread rumors all over the country. Many flocked to see it. Nevertheless, the notorious name of Little Egypt came to be known from the Street in Cairo, owing to the several exotic shows that attracted many Americans. Even in the twenty first century, Little Egypt s name is still a mystery, having become a legend that has lured many dancers. In Looking For Little Egypt, Donna Carlton takes her readers on a journey to the Chicago Columbian Exposition in 1893 to investigate Little Egypt s identity. • 31. Analysis Of The Article Why Hominids And Space Go... Manned spaceflight is a crucial argument in society. Two writers, Seth Shostak and John Logsdon, both believe that America is making a mistake by ending manned space exploration. Seth Shostak is the author of the article Why Hominids and Space Go Together in The New York Times Room for Debate; his article is about how President Obama s new vision for the NASA program is not a good plan. John Logsdon also wrote an article for The New York Times Room for Debate called American Patrimony. His article is more focused on how it will be a loss of patriotism to end manned spaceflight in the United States. Both Shostak and Logsdon agree that manned space travel should continue, but Shostak s rhetoric is more effective because his argument is well organized and credible, he ties in his readers emotions efficiently, and he logically explains his beliefs. In Shostak s article he portrays himself as a credible source, which makes his ethos appeal successful. Shostak makes many attempts to make his article trustworthy, some of which actually diminish his ethos. One way the writer seeks to obtain credibility is through the structure of the article. He arranged his piece in a very organized way that states the points thoroughly and with confidence, which portrays him as a knowledgeable source. Another way he gains credibility is through the language and dialect he incorporates. He includes words such as autonomous rovers and anachronism which indicates his piece is aimed at an ... • 34. Analysis Of Dante s The Of Hell Jacob Barnett Essay#2 Reid Title I think Dante s description of Hell is a wonderful work of literature. Dante uses numerous literary techniques to describe his envisionment of Hell to the reader. In my opinion, one of the most affective techniques used by Dante is symbolism. It would be a very difficult task to compile a brief list of significant symbols from the Cantos that we read in class. Dante utilized many symbols throughout each canto. Some of the symbols that Dante used in Inferno are well defined and easy to interpret, while other symbols are much more difficult to recognize and understand. For this paper, I will be analyzing multiple symbols from Dante s Inferno. Some of the symbols came from the Canto s that were included in class readings while others were depicted throughout the Canto s that were not assigned readings. I found that one of the major symbols that reoccurred throughout the poem is the idea of a continuing journey. This was depicted in the very first line of the poem when Dante s life was compared to a road or pathway which Dante is halfway through. The specificity of the piece noting that Dante is halfway through further emphasizes the symbolism of continuing a journey by out rightly stating that he has begun but not yet finished. Therefore, when Dante strays from the intended path in the beginning of the first Canto he has symbolically strayed from the right kind of life . Dante s journey with Virgil through the many layers of hell also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
