this right was not confirmed to be absolute. Nearly 20 years later, in the case of Planned
Parenthood v. Casey, the central holdings of Roe v. Wadewere reaffirmed, by providing limits in
which federal and state governments can regulate abortion. Unfortunately, conflict arose between
Casey and Roe, when trying to ensure the woman still has a right to choose, which lead to
allowing a prohibition of late term abortions, unless the health of the mother was at stake. Next, in
2000, the case of Stenberg v. Carhart forced the court to consider a Nebraska state law that was
passed banning late term abortions and whether the statute was unconstitutional, which it was found
to be, because the statute did not include an exception for the health of the mother and that the
language used was so broad that it burdened a woman s right to choose. Then, in 2007, the case of
Gonzales v. Carhart raised the issue once again on a federal law that had been passed, the Partial

From the 1940 s to the 1960 s this form of therapy grew immesnly in the United States. In the
1960 s art therapy was an idea whose time had come (Junge, 2010). All the hype did not last long.
In the 1970 s a split between the once unified body of art therapists was seen. Two lines of
thinking came about. The first was art as therapy and the second was art as psychotherapy. The first

Sometimes people do not even know they are judging them. It starts when you ask one of your
friends about a teacher they have had before because you are about to take that individual class.
When your friend tells you how they liked the class, how they liked the teacher, and how they

Dolores Clara Fernandez Huerta born April 10, 1930 in Dawson, New Mexico is an American
labor leader and civil rights activist who was co founder of the National Farm Workers
Association, and later the United Farm workers. Huerta has received many awards and
accolades and has remained a role model and voice to many in the Latino community. Huerta
had been born to Juan Fernandez and Alicia Chavez; they divorced when Huerta was just three

In the book Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse each character seeks enlightenment or already has

American Slavery American Freedom Summary
In reviewing the book American Slavery, American Freedom, historian and author Edmund S.
Morgan provides a chronological approach to the growth of slavery in North America. Morgan
starts his journey with the first settlements in Virginia and continues until the start of the American
Revolution. Morgan gives explanation of how ideals of freedom and English sense of superiority
came to be a major stepping stone for independence and racism. Morgan s question of how a
country that proclaims liberty, equality and religious virtue can at the same time foster the
opposing ideals of slaveryand subjugation is the underlying question throughout the book. Morgan
puts the critical issue on display, broken down into four areas or books, to guide our understanding
of colonial Virginia, the development of slavery, and the link between racism and equality.
This highly regarded and scholarly book examines the fundamental paradox of freedom and the
establishment of slavery in American history. The central question posed by Morgan is how a
people could have developed the dedication to human liberty and dignity exhibited by the leaders
of the American Revolution and at the same time have developed and maintained a system of
labor that denied human liberty and dignity every hour of the day (Morgan 1975, 4 5). The
location in Morgan s research is colonial Virginia, once the largest slave state and home of
proponents of liberty. Morgan s detailed discussion of: the rise of race slavery over indentured

John Gardner and The Art of Fiction
After reading The Art of Fiction by John Gardner, I am definitely more knowledgeable on the
topic of writing fiction than I was before. The first sentence of this book reads, This is a book
designed to teach the serious beginning writer the art of fiction (ix). I believe it does just that and
perhaps much more. The book is divided into two main sections: notes on literary aesthetic theory
and notes on the fictional process. This allows the reader to hear commentary on two very different
views of fiction, thus giving the aspiring writer a well rounded understanding of the subject.

In doing so, he has allowed the amateur to experiment in his or her writing without having to
worry necessarily about whether they are following a proper format or style. This makes the
writing process a lot more fun and relaxing. Furthermore, by describing fiction as more a mode of
thought for writers than a means of entertainment, Gardner has given the process of writing fiction
an intriguing edge that makes it much more exciting for the writer.
Another of the book s highlights is its thorough examination of the many different ways and points
of view from which a piece of fiction can be told. This aspect is especially strong when Gardner
discusses such things as metafiction and deconstruction, two fascinating methods of writing fiction
that are probably not well known among most young writers. In explaining these different kinds of
fiction, Gardner also uses many vivid examples, such as passages from many classical works of
fiction, that help the reader truly understand what is being discussed.
Even though I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, there were some aspects of it that I did not
especially care for. The first of these aspects are the sections that are devoted to showing the reader
what errors are commonly made in writing a piece of fiction. Although I do see the value in
showing a student such things as the dangers of using excessive

I d Tell You I Love You But Then I d Have to Kill You is the first book in the Gallagher Girls
series. The series is about Cameron Morgan, a teenage girl who goes to a private school called
the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women. From the outside, it looks like an ordinary
all girls private boarding school. Except that it s not. Because it actually teaches its students to
become a spy. You can expect unconventional subjects in their curriculum such as Covert
Operations, Protection and Enforcement, and other interesting subjects. In the first book, Cameron
or Cammie was in the middle of an outside class activity in the Roseville town carnival when a
boy named Josh singled her out. It could be considered as a meet cute if only Cammie was not in the

Cammie couldn t tell the truth about her identity to Josh (at least the one which Josh is allowed
to know). It could be solved if only Cammie was a little bit honest to Josh. Yet, the plot doesn t
feel dragged out. Probably because I enjoy the narration and the dialogue between the characters.
The narration might seem childish, with all the exclamation point and capital letters to MAKE
A POINT!! But it didn t annoy me. It s fun. Another thing that I like about this book is how the
girls are not damsel in distress. They are smart and tough. Though sometimes they have to hide
the fact that they are trained spies (depending on your clearance), still, reading about amazing
tough girls is always a plus. They also know their priorities, which is quite a rare case in YA
books. Sure, there are times when she doubt it. But not to the point where she makes dumb
decision, at least in my opinion, and I totally support that. All in all, I m surprised at how much I
like this book. If you re looking for a fun and fast paced YA book, I totally recommend this book.
As for the rest of the series, I m looking forward to reading

people think they were better and they tried to rub it in by saying bad words and then a black
person would attack or defend themselves and they would get arrested and possibly get killed or
get beat up.
